Nestled within the HI Lake Louise hostel, Bill Peyto's Cafe is a charming haven for adventurers seeking comfort food after exploring the stunning wilderness. Named in honor of a legendary local guide, this cozy spot embodies mountain culture with its rustic decor and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're gearing up for a day on the slopes or winding down after hiking, you'll find hearty meals that hit the spot.
Perfect dinner after a full day exploring Moraine Lake & Lake Louise We enjoyed a relaxed and satisfying dinner at Bill Peyto’s Café after a day visiting the two stunning lakes. The atmosphere was warm and rustic, a perfect fit for unwinding after time in the mountains. We ordered a variety of dishes: the cheeseburger with Broccoli‑Cheese Soup of the Day, Penne Marinara, the Crispy Chicken Parmesan Burger, and the Jalapeño Burger. They offer an optional upgrade to an Alberta bison patty for an extra $3, though we stuck with the regular patties. One highlight was that water was served freely - and it tasted fresh, not chlorinated. That really impressed us! The portion sizes were generous relative to the price, and overall we felt the quality and quantity offered excellent value - great price‑performance for the Lake Louise area. Service was friendly and efficient - they handled everything with a smile. We appreciated the cozy mountain‑style decor and the casual, welcoming vibe; clearly a local favorite among hikers and visitors alike. All in all, a terrific dinner spot after a long day outdoors. Friendly staff, hearty meals, and fair pricing - highly recommended!

Solid stop for a bite in the mountains! Dropped by Bill Peyto’s Cafe after a day of exploring and ordered the burger — nothing fancy, but it hit the spot. Juicy, satisfying, and just what I needed after some fresh mountain air. The vibe is laid-back and cozy, perfect for travelers or campers passing through. Not the best burger I’ve ever had, but definitely a decent one, and I’d come back to try more from the menu. Great place for a chill meal in a beautiful setting!

We were looking for a quiet place to eat. This place was perfect. Service was fantastic!! Atmosphere was very quaint. We got the chili which was a huge serving it came with tortilla chips.Sorry we dug into the chili before I took the picture. We went back the next day for Hamburgers which was also huge and wonderful. We would highly recommend eating.

We’ve been to Bill Peyto‘s Cafe three times now – and every single time was just incredible! The food is absolutely delicious (see photos 😋), and the atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming. A huge shoutout to Mel, our waitress the last two nights. Sure, friendliness is part of the job – but she went above and beyond. She checked in regularly, was genuinely funny, totally on our vibe, and just made the whole evening so much fun. She really turned a great dinner into a perfect night. Five stars, no question about it! 👏✨

Had our dinner here in June. Food was good 👍🏻 and service was excellent. Price is reasonable. Didn’t know there’s a hostel here.

On our road trip through Jasper and Banff, we stopped in for gas and happened to this place driving by. Decided to go back and dine in. No regrets! Staff were very friendly, service was great and the good was delicious! We will be stopping for food here everytime we drive through.

The Walliser Stube, located at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel, offers a delightful dining experience with its traditional Swiss menu featuring cheese and oil fondues, raclette, appetizers, salads, and desserts. The restaurant's signature Chateau Experience presents a three-course fondue dinner including cheese fondue to start, chateaubriand steak as the main course, and Toblerone chocolate fondue for dessert.
We were lucky enough to stay here as part of our tour and decided to have dinner here. From the moment we were shown to our table, our server Asher was there to make sure we had everything we needed. We had the fondue experience and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Asher was attentive without being obtrusive and super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed chatting to him.

We had a fantastic dinner here while we were staying at the hotel. Two of us did the three course dinner while our son got the pork chop. My wife and I each had the filet. We started off with the cheese fondue, which was delicious. It came with bread as well as vegetables and pickles to dip in the cheese. I really liked the vegetables more than the bread. The filets were perfectly cooked and were so good. For dessert, we got the chocolate fondue with many different morsels to smother with chocolate. Some might complain about the portions being small, but we thought they were absolutely perfect. Everything tasted so good, and we left very satisfied without that overly full feeling. I did splurge and ordered the premium wine pairing, and I have to say it was perfect for my palate. I have been under whelmed with wine pairing in the past, but not here. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful and provided a great experience. The only thing that is a deficit is the cost, so viewing this as a special treat helps!
Brent H — Google review
What more can one ask for. The view alone is worth the price! The wine selection beyond compare! The service, oh yes the service. Our server Melanie was an absolute gem. Very knowledgeable! What a pleasure! I did enjoy my tomahawk schnitzel. Perhaps a little unusual combination but it was certainly lovely. The dessert was amazing A newly invented and very inspiring peach Strudel! Highly recommend.
I&S — Google review
Really nice and straightforward restaurant in the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. There’s one room with amazing views of the lake, and another room with no views, so request (if you can) the room with the view. Additionally, there’s a full wine rack w/a ladder that’s very cute and actually gets used. We split the raclette (which was a “deconstructed” version of a traditional raclette) and split the tenderloin. Both were excellent. We’d definitely eat here again, but you also can’t go wrong with the other hotel restaurants
Marc G — Google review
Had an excellent time ordering and tasting through The Chateau Experience dinner options. The ambience was great, but the views were incredible! Had a wonderful birthday celebration thanks to the staff!

Everything about the Walliser Stube was amazing! The fondue and steak were incredible and the views are lovely. Staff were extremely kind and friendly, especially our waiter Asher. Will absolutely look forward to coming back someday!

I had the absolute best experience at Walliser Stube thanks to our incredible server, Asher! He went above and beyond to make my birthday so special. He made me feel truly seen, cared for, and celebrated in a way I will never forget. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine kindness turned the evening into something magical. Asher didn’t just serve us—he created an experience and made “special” happen. Thank you for making my birthday unforgettable!
Smriti K — Google review
My wife and I visited Walliser Stube twice while we were at the Fairmont. The first night for full dinner. Everything was top notch. Our server Nick took amazing care of us and also had a ton of great wine knowledge to share with us. Cheese fondue (truffle), tenderloin, and then chocolate fondue were all 10/10 excellent. The 2nd night- we came for only chocolate fondue and a glass of wine, we didn’t have a reservation and were seated in the bar area. Nick was our server/ bar tender and wow was he great. Will absolutely be back.

Cafe
Coffee shop
Located in Lake Louise Village, Trailhead Cafe is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike to fuel up before embarking on mountain adventures. The cafe offers a variety of breakfast wraps, sandwiches, and baked goods, with generous portions that can be customized to your liking. In addition to delicious food, the cafe also serves excellent coffee and cappuccinos to kickstart your day.
Very busy cafe for a reason. Food was good. Wrap doesn't break apart when you bite into it. Had the canadian club and cajun chicken. Both was flavorful. The Houston was pull pork with macaroni. Wait time are bit longer due to volume of customer. Good food requires some patience.
LACH — Google review
The salmon bagel was delicious. The bagel had a nice balance of softness and crispness, and the salmon filling was fresh. Paired with onions and cream sauce, it was incredibly tasty. The shop is quite small, and many takeout customers wait inside or stand by the counter looking at the menu on the board, which makes the space feel even busier and more crowded. I would love to visit again next time I’m in Banff.
Judy H — Google review
After paying $80 for some wraps and salads I asked the staff about the food; the small salad container ($4.50 each) was half full, lettuce was old, the croutons were mush and the dressing tasted weird. He said “ok what do you want? A refund?” I said sure then I heard him tell his coworker that he’s giving us the $8 back because “he doesn’t want to deal with it”. I also asked him about the donair wrap because the description said garlic sauce but the sauce was extremely sweet he said “that’s how we make our sauce”. Overall vibe, price and quality of food was bad.

I guess the lack of nearby coffee shops makes this café a superstar. Cons: The latte was barely warm. It took 30 minutes from getting in line to receiving the order. They refused to serve pancakes at 9:59 😂 (even though the menu says they stop serving them at 10) Pros: The breakfast burrito was a good size and very filling.
Stan K — Google review
Nice setup and move through customers quickly. Very busy Cafe Good food and coffee and loads of options. Nice seated area out the back and some indoor tables a drink wifi available. If sitting out near river do not feed the wildlife. I saw some people feed them and they came from everywhere and were all over the people who quickly packed up and left.

I have gluten and dairy dietary restrictions. They allowed me to order a custom Reuben on GF bread with no cheese. The cashier was extremely understanding and helpful. He said his partner has restrictions. I felt respected and enjoyed a delicious sandwich and green smoothie!

Located within The Fairmont Chateau, Lakeview Lounge offers a luxurious setting with breathtaking views of Lake Louise and the surrounding forests. This top establishment provides an elegant atmosphere for visitors to enjoy exquisite cocktails from the Fairmont Modern Classics menu while taking in the majestic scenery. Guests can also indulge in tapas bites as they admire the brilliant view of the lake and Victoria Glacier.
12:30 lunch reservation. Parking $45Ca not complimentary. We were seated at the patio as requested for a birthday celebration. Food was good. The service was a little slower than I would have expected, but it gave us an excuse to soak in the scenic view and ambiance. This is a high end establishment and looks good, but some areas of the hotel is a little dated. Enjoyed our food and the brisket sandwich I ordered was impressively delicious and my wife raved about the fresh cut salad prepped at table side. Lake Louise is stunning and it just lift everything else around it as far as impressions.

Had both dinner and lunch here while staying at the Chateau. The food was perfectly done and delicious. Between the four of us we enjoyed the lobster roll, fish & chips, sirloin, elk ribs and salad. No complaints. The staff is exceptional. Lauren & Cameron made the best cocktails before we dined! The waitresses were on point and extremely pleasant. The manager, Lizzy, went out of her way to make sure every step of our visits were excellent. Thank you for making our stay at Fairmont Lake Louise even more special than it already was.

Had lunch at the Lakeview lounge after morning walk along the lakeshore trail. the lounge is at the Fairmont Lake Louise Chateau, and it cna be booked by persons who are not guests at the hotel. The location and atmosphere are incredible, elegant and refined, with magnificient views if the Lake. It has both indooor and outdoor seating - we opted for indoor as the day was a little brisk, even though the outdoor had heaters. Our waitress Kayla took excellent care of us. She may have warned us that the portion sizes were generous, but if so we took no notice. To start we shared theBurrata & Co Pizzette appetizer. It was deliciuos. The proscuitto was tasty and tender, almost melting in your mouth, and condiments compleliment the dish - of special note the fig and onion jam. But it was ENORMOUS. Between the two of us we could barely finish it, and by this point we knew we were in trouble. For main courses we had BBQ Elk Ribs Stack, and Hour Smoked Beef Rib French Dip. The elk ribs choice was part of my experiencing local offerings.. They were very good - but, experience realized, given the choice in the future I’d choose pork ribs any day. The beef sandhich was good, with a very generous portion size - overwhelming my better half, and after the appetizer I was not the usual help in batting clean-up. Solution was a doggy bag, Overall a truly wonderful experience, both for the food and atmosphere.

I reserved this table 5 months before we traveled to Banff. I've had my eye on this place for a long time. Was nervous when we arrived. So happy to have dined here. Wasn't just a meal but an experience. You can't beat the views! And the service was amazing! Issa was a wonderful server! He recommended the peach cobbler which was delicious and even gave us mousse also! Can't say enough about this place. Reserve ahead! You won't be disappointed! The lobster roll and caesar salad were so delicious! No leftovers to be had.

After finishing the Lakes Agnes hike in the morning, we had our lunch at the Lakeview Lounge at the spectacular Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Needless to say, the ambience is amazing. We had a clear and lovely view of Lake Louise from our table. We ordered the Crab Ravioli and the Roast Spaghetti Squash. Both of the dishes were amazing. As it was our special day, the server offered a complimentary dessert!! The restaurant is expensive but given its location, I would say it’s worth it. Make sure to book the reservations in advance.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the Lakeview Lounge at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the breathtaking setting to the impeccable service, everything was memorable. Our server, Chahat, was absolutely outstanding—warm, professional, and attentive without ever being intrusive. She made us feel truly celebrated, and it was clear she is an asset to the Fairmont team. The food was exceptional: the lobster salad was fresh and flavorful, the Caesar salad prepared tableside was both delicious and a delight to watch, and the roasted chicken was perfectly cooked. To our surprise, the team treated us to a beautifully presented dessert to mark our anniversary, which made the evening even more special. Between the stunning lake views, the excellent cuisine, and Chahat’s gracious service, it was an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate such an important milestone. Highly recommend Lakeview Lounge for any special occasion—or simply to enjoy the best of Lake Louise.

One our best experiences while in Lake Louise. We were so fortunate to get a table because they showed completely booked every night we were visiting. The staff were amazing and set us up on the outside patio with the best views of Lake Louise. I had their Tuna and my wife had the lobster salad. Then we finished the night with an apple crumble desert that was wonderful. Cannot thank the staff for such an amazing evening.

Hello, If you’re reading this; this restaurant prioritizes Guests of Fairmont (which is a good thing) to dine in. GABI THE WAITRESS IS AMAZING! Made our stay memorable.. GABI if you’re reading this; thank you again! We really enjoyed our dine in lakeview stay because of you. She is very professional, welcoming, and attends to the needs of the table with fine detail. Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, Alpine Social in Banff is a mountaineering-inspired locale that offers a mix of modern fare, craft beer, cocktails, and brown spirits. The establishment's decor reflects the adventurous spirit of mountain explorers and serves as a rendezvous for stories of alpine adventures. With its rustic yet vibrant ambiance, it beckons both adventurers and gastronomes to indulge in its inviting sanctuary.
Came in for happy hour. Was blown away by all the fried food we ordered! best fish&chip ever. the breading was crispy, crunchy, light, perfect amount of moisture VS dry ratio. And the happy hour portion was HUGE. Our server, Paige was outstanding as well. Made our quick snacking hour a delightful and pleasant experience.
Leslie — Google review
Food wasn’t terrible. The burger and the steak didn’t have a lot of flavor but the avocado and arugula salad and the chicken pesto pasta was really good. The servers were friendly. A few tables have a great view of the lake.
Rachael T — Google review
Pretty mediocre food. Burger tasted like frozen TV dinner, chicken wings were better. Service was mixed - no one greets you so we were standing in front while restaurant was fairly empty for quite a while until we finally asked if we could sit and they said we could sit anywhere. After being seated, ordering was also slow. That being said our server was nice and friendly. Unfortunately since we are staying at the hotel this was the only choice for a later night dinner.
Sophia H — Google review
The first thing is when you walk in no one greets or welcomes you so that was a bummer and also we had to sit ourself which was confusing. Other review said that the burgers didn’t taste good but my family said it was great! The pasta was really good but a little over priced for the amount of food and the shrimp tasted odd. Our server was really nice refilled our water often which was great. Sadly it was snowing but great views after!

Title: Extremely Disappointing and Unhealthy Experience My husband and I went for dinner at Alpine Social on October 16, 2025, around 5:15 p.m. after his conference. I ordered the Alpine Burger with fries and a margarita, while my husband ordered fish and chips with a beer. We left the restaurant around 7:00 p.m. Later that evening, both of us started feeling unwell. Our stomachs were bloated, and we experienced severe gas and discomfort throughout the night. Around 4 a.m., I developed extreme diarrhea, the worst I have ever experienced. My husband also became ill, though my symptoms were much more severe. Soon after, I developed fever, chills, and stomach pain. The following day, I could barely eat and stayed in bed all day at the Fairmont Hotel. I only managed a small amount of yogurt, chamomile tea, and some soup from room service. I also took Pepto-Bismol to try to control the symptoms, but the diarrhea and pain continued. By October 19, my condition had worsened, and I had to go to the hospital emergency department. Because of this, we had to cancel our entire trip including multiple hotels we had booked months in advance and fly home early that same day. We informed the Fairmont Hotel about what happened when checking out, and they said they would report the issue to the restaurant. However, we never heard back from Alpine Social. This experience completely ruined our trip and left me sick for over a week, from October 16 to 25. Even now, my stomach still isn’t back to normal. I would strongly caution others to be careful about what they eat at this restaurant. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Alpine Social to anyone.
Amal A — Google review
Great view and great fish and chips. The server sucks, she doesn’t smile or introduce herself, she never came and ask how things were. Also the lowest tips are 18%. This is how they get you and there’s no where else to eat around there when you visit lake Louise. But the view is great!
Cynthia — Google review
We dined at Alpine Social for dinner to celebrate our 60th anniversary. We were greeted by our server Olivia with a beaming smile and such a kind personality. We had the nachos and they were plentiful and so delicious. The drinks were tasty too. I would highly recommend dining at the Alpine Social for a great experience!
Carolyn G — Google review
This had good food. I wouldn’t call it great by any means, but I didn’t have great food anywhere in the Rockies with exception to the Patricia Street Deli in Jasper. As a foodie, it is disheartening, but I understand that the mountains isn’t always the best place for a foodie to visit. Good thing I went here for the hikes/scenery! Overall, its decent food, decent beer selection, good vibes, very clean, and great staff. We ate here twice and while it wasn’t memorable, it is consistent.

Restaurant
Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Banff, the Post Hotel Dining Room Lake Louise is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This upscale restaurant boasts a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, making it perfect for those looking to indulge in inventive cuisine with global influences. While primarily catering to hotel guests, they graciously accommodate outside diners when space allows—an opportunity not to be missed!
Dining at The Post Hotel was the highlight of our Lake Louise trip! Everything was great from start to finish! Dinner is a 4 course prix fixe menu, plenty of options to choose from. I loved the bison carpaccio and my cod fish!! The service from Yves was amazing, he made our night a lot more enjoyable! Cocktails were great, wine was great, food was amazing, just a perfect evening! This restaurant is worth the trip, you won’t regret it! It was also amazing the hotel helped us arrange transportation back to the Fairmont where we were staying, as mentioned, everything was great from start to finish!

Old world elegance, cozy surroundings, light piano play in the background, and a lovely dining room to spend an anniversary dinner and splurge on an amazing bottle of vino if you get the chance. It was wonderful to be back here again after a long hiatus. Fantastic service, cheerful sommelier, delicious offerings thoughtfully prepared and presented. I’ve come across few hotel based restaurants that can bring this pedigree of experience to bare, and even even fewer in sleepy little mountain villages, and thus I think the price point is commensurate with the experience. Thankfully they have a wonderful little companion pub downstairs to help balance the dining stay budget whilst here at the lodge, which we also enjoyed thoroughly, and made it that much more special to settle into an evening of fine dining here. So very yum. Well done. Ps- I especially enjoyed the combination of thick cut green and red tomatoes n their take on a caprese, with two types of balsamic, very nice.

If you want a nice high end meal this is where you go. Service was great and the food followed suit. We started with the bison tartare and the richness of the meat really enhanced the flavors of the ingredients. I had the caribou and it was absolutely delightful and everything on the dish went together perfect, I loved how much sauce there was to utilize. My fiancé had the miso black cod and she was also very impressed.
Pete S — Google review
I ate in the dining room twice for dinner and once for breakfast. On all occasions the service was excellent and the food was good. The ambiance is cozy but during my time there I didn't enjoy the music. There was a sort of cheesy background music of pop songs everyone would know, but on classical guitar. Then there came a guitarist playing the same type of songs live. It's not that this is bad music, but to me, it isn't well matched to a 5 star dining experience. Food-wise, from a vegetarian perspective, I really enjoyed the quinoa salad. Lots of interesting flavor combinations and textures. Highly recommend that! The risotto and cauliflower steak were definitely enjoyable but not exceptionally creative.

We had an absolutely amazing dinner at Post Hotel Dining Room. Our waiter, Cleverson, was outstanding—attentive, warm, and made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was exceptional. The halibut and sea scallops were perfectly prepared and truly some of the best we’ve ever had. Even the mocktails impressed us—especially the Juice-Tini, which was fresh, creative, and delicious. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. Highly recommend this spot for both the incredible food and the wonderful service!
Mohammad K — Google review
The Post Hotel Dining Room is not your average hotel dining room. It is a first class restaurant, in terms of atmosphere, food, and service. Our waiter Sylvain was very professional, and in the course of the evening as the restaurant became less busy, and when asked told us quite a bit about where he came from and his experiences. We were still feeling the effects of an enourmous lunch, and had even contacted the restaurant to move back our reservatioin by an hour which they did for us. Hence we stuck to lighter things on the menu - including the Octopus Confit - an interesting dish that was delicious, the Pan Seared Deep Sea Scallops that were cooked to perfection, and the Pan Seared Sea Bream Filet. The dining room included a wall of wine, which was only a portion of the wine offerings. Downstairs was a complete wine cellar, that we just caught a glimpse of when walking by the stairway. The restaurant has won a number of awards, including the DiRōNA Award of Excellence in 2025.

We were fortunate enough to dine here. The service was top notch, food was beyond that with every attention to detail. We have dined in many 5 star restaurants and we put this up near the top. The experience was incredible! And wine selection is world class, wines that we know and hold dear to our hearts they had on their list. A night we will never forget.

The Lake Louise Railway Station & Restaurant is a unique dining spot housed in the original train station of Lake Louise. It offers a dining experience rich in Canadian tradition and history, set amidst the rustic charm of its past as a bustling railway hub. The restaurant serves Canadian cuisine in various areas, including an old dining car, providing visitors with a glimpse into the area's heritage.
Sarah, the bartender took excellent care of me! Everything I had was exceptional! The creme of mushroom soup, meatballs, honey whipped goat cheese, maple whiskey sour, sangria and lemon cheesecake were all on point! Kudos to the chef 🧑‍🍳 💋

A nostalgic, somewhat rustic space in which I’m glad we made reservations for to drop in for the evening to have dinner. They have a small but tasty offering of local-ish beers, and a straightforward simple menu of classic staples. I liked the eggplant bites but would have enjoyed them more if the crispy batter had been seasoned a bit. The sweet potato fries were actually the big hit at our table. This spot has a lot to offer but could use a little TLC I think w an update to the bar and more comfortable seating n the main dining room. There is some great history here that really could be tapped into if done right. Our service was friendly and prompt and everything came out piping hot.

Unique location with good food. We were looking for a place to eat near Lake Louise at 7 pm and this was the only place that was open. The menu features some Canadian classics, great place to bring your visitor. We got the All Aboard Platter for Two to try all the appetizer options but they weren't very good. The Chicken Schnitzel and Bison Ribs were very nice though. Comes time for the bill, it was difficult to get a hold of a waitress. When we finally got a waitress to ask for the bill, she told us she was not our waitress and we should ask our. We were taken aback by the remark.

This was a proper hidden gem that we loved visiting! We were seated quickly and had some really nice food. The portion sizes were on the smaller side but nevertheless the food was sublime. Added atmosphere of the trains stopping and starting and going past. Really enjoyed the visit.

Tried the Station on my second day camping near Lake Louise but it was closed. Tried again tonight, but was greeted by a reservation only sign. I talked to the host anyway who kindly accommodated my small party of one 😁 I felt like royalty in those ginormous chairs! Dinner was EXCELLENT! I even had dessert which I don't normally do. I'm happily stuffed 😋

Look past the little start-up glitches (like no alcohol license yet) and focus on the food that they have dialed in. The French onion soup was all you would expect, the salmon was perfectly done, and the bison lasagna was delicious and hearty. Joelle was a great server. Some ultra-secret VIP (Justin?) parked their train, blocking our view.

Had a wonderful experience. We actually arrived an hour after our reservation - due to mixup in time zones. They graciously accommodated us. The atmosphere was fantastic. As the name implies, the restaurant is in the building of what was the Old train station. It has plenty of memorabilia. I had heard it had a photo of John Barrymore, and asked to see it because his family - the Drew's - are distantly related. They found the photo, attached. I had the Bison burger. Very good. Bison is less gamey than I thought it would be.

This Restrauent is spectacular , historical and the food was great, better than the Fairmont Hotel! While we were eating , a real life train came rolling by. Our waiter was very helpful with the menu. I’d recommend that people go to this Restrauent when in Lake Louise!

Fairview Bar and Restaurant is an elegant dining spot located in the Fairmont Hotel, offering stunning views of Lake Louise. The restaurant provides a refined atmosphere to enjoy New Canadian cuisine inspired by the Rocky Mountains. Guests can indulge in seasonal menus while taking in the spectacular frozen lake and glacier views. The art deco space adds to the ambiance, making it an ideal setting for a romantic alpine getaway.
What a great time! We were here celebrating getting engaged and had Emily as our server. First off, she’s fantastic! Personable, has great recommendations and knows the menu onside and out. I have a weird food allergy and she made sure to check with the chefs to make sure there were no risks which was appreciated. Drinks - they have a fun menu! Each cocktail is named for something in the area, and the wine selection is great. 10/10 recommend getting their Beef Tartare which is highlighted in our menu. Alba made ours right at the table and you can increase, decrease or omit ingredients if you so wish. It was hands down the best tartare I’ve ever had. We split the tenderloin and some sides as well. It was beautifully cooked, the shishito peppers were wonderfully spicy and the prawn add-on should be non-negotiable. We also had the Teriyaki Lion’s Mane appetizer which was interesting. Nothing to write home to, but worth trying if you haven’t had it before. Normally I’m too full for dessert, but I’m a sucker for Strawberry Rhubarb and their shortcake did NOT disappoint! We had a bonus dessert show up in the form of watermelon sorbet which was the perfect palette cleanser to end the night. If you’re looking for a nice dinner with a great view and excellent service, Fairview does not disappoint!

Visited for afternoon tea. The scone was delightfully fluffy and bursting with flavour, perfectly complemented by a rich dollop of cream and sweet fruit preserves. The assortment of desserts was visually appealing and a delightful mix of textures and flavours. The breathtaking view of the lake added to the overall experience. The attentive staff made the service exceptional.

We had dinner here one evening while staying at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and enjoyed a relaxing meal while overlooking the lake. I dined on Alberta Bison tartare and jumbo shrimp while the others in my party enjoyed salads and chicken. Service was outstanding and the dining room was comfortable.

Their High tea was absolutely amazing!! From the view, to the selection of teas, the fresh finger sandwiches, buttery scones, and delicate pastries, every bite was an experience . The setting and view was out of this world and the best part was the high tea service. We were lucky enough to be served by Julia or as they call her “mama” she was attentive, caring, funny and made sure that my birthday experience with my friends were memorable. She went above and beyond. Honestly. I would totally recommend.

My husband and I had the afternoon tea at the Fairview and it was a beautiful experience. Julia A was our server and she was very gracious and hospitable, explaining the tea menu to us (we are not tea enthusiasts), giving us great recommendations, and attentive service. She even took our photo when tea was served to capture the picturesque views of Lake Louise behind us. The whole staff was very accommodating, granting us our request to be seated near the window for the views of the lake. Overall it was a seamless experience, from parking in the garage through our departure.

We went for afternoon tea and it was the most delightful experience. Every staff member we encountered was so detail oriented. I briefly couldn’t remember which name our reservation was under since we recently got married and I’m in the process of changing my name. I only briefly mentioned this and the hostess informed our server. They wrote “Congratulations” on our dessert tower in chocolate with little wedding rings. We were so touched. Luke was our amazing server. We absolutely enjoyed him! He was so great to talk to and was very personable. We will be back for sure. The non-alcoholic wine they serve is my favorite ever. It was perfect. The teas, the sandwiches, and pastries…absolute perfection. I also appreciate how accommodating and caring they were about me being a pescatarian. My husband was able to get the regular menu, while I got a mix of pescatarian and vegetarian. I appreciate that so much. This experience is worth the money. Side note: parking is $45 for the day. I was hoping they would validate it, but they don’t. So make sure to take that into account when planing.

This was a fun little experience for us and the kids. They were really nice to our kids even though they were exhausted and ready for food. The service was great. We got a few appetizers and some drinks. The views were amazing and it was a great spot to warm up. The scotch egg was the highlight!

Attended a mixology class at this bar today, and it was such a fun and memorable experience! The atmosphere was great, the cocktails were delicious, and what really made it special was our bartender, Brock. He was not only highly skilled but also super engaging and funny, which made the whole session so enjoyable. I left with new cocktail-making skills and a big smile. Highly recommend this bar!

Nestled in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, the Mountain Restaurant is a charming lodge-like eatery that offers a delightful array of globally inspired comfort food. With its cozy wooden interior and stunning mountain vistas, this family-owned gem has been delighting visitors since 1984. Whether you're craving hearty burgers, comforting pasta, or savory poutine, you'll find something to satisfy your appetite here. The Bison Burger paired with yam fries is a must-try for those seeking a unique taste experience.
As we sat down by their huge windows, we could not help but be attracted by the serene view of the glaciers and the snow-capped mountains. It was very enjoyable and relaxing. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. I had butter chicken curry and my wife ordered Cajun chicken linguine, both were excellent. For drink, we tried their Honey Brown amber lager. It even came with a chilled mug. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Surprisingly yum for a small neighborhood spot and simple menu. Though there wasn’t any new or unique offerings, all of the food tastes really fresh and were great portions. We ordered: Impossible burger (yummy fries) Thai curry (a little spicy) Greek salad (yum! Better than most restaurants) Chicken soup (forgettable, tasted a little out of the can)

Adding this stop for when we visit Lake Louise again. The restaurant is cozy and offers a great view into the mountains! As far as the food: prices were very reasonable and worth it! The bison burger was savoury heaven! Definetly upgrade to a poutine. The chicken linguini was super delicious as well! Don’t sleep on this place. Super kind and friendly staff too. Thanks for adding a good experience/memory to my tourist experience!

Mountain Restaurant located in Lake Louis village . Ambience is great with full of woods . View from restaurant is awesome. Employees are super engaging and great . Food is little expensive since it’s a tourist destination. I had a bison burger which was great all other foods we ordered was good .we can feel the wilderness while having food.

Ordered the Bison Burger with Yam fries. The food was really good. Patty was juicy, and the fries were nice and crispy. It looks like the menu had been updated a few times compared to the older reviews. Didn't see the mountain burger this time. They are a bit on the pricier side, but considering what was ordered and the location, I'd say it's pretty fair. The meal was $25.50 for one.

Lago Italian Kitchen, located in Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, offers a family-friendly setting with stunning mountain views. The restaurant serves modern Mediterranean cuisine with influences from Italian, Spanish, and Greek flavors. The menu features rustic Italian dishes made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet or classic dinner while taking in the beautiful interior and scenic views of the Canadian Rockies. The warm and casual atmosphere captures the true essence of traditional Italian cuisine.
We came here for the breakfast buffet to start our day and we had an awesome time. Our server Julia was fantastic! She made sure we were comfortable right away and made an effort to offer my daughter (3.5 years) juice and informed us that they also serve fresh omelettes that we didn’t know was part of the buffet. Definitely will come back again if we every visit the area.

Louiza is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant located on the ground floor of the Chateau Lake Louise in Fairmont. Although it may not offer the same breathtaking views as other restaurants in the hotel, its large windows still provide pleasant scenery. The restaurant underwent a recent renovation, adding character to its multiple dining rooms and brightening up the space. The menu offers a variety of options including seafood, meat, and vegetarian dishes.
Such a wonderful breakfast. The wonderful welcoming and friendly staffs made a great first impression. The menu is simple for ordering but it is plenty to choose from for hot breakfast. They also have cold breakfast included which has all you need. Lots of pastries selections. Lots of fruit juices to select from as well. The hot breakfast included is very well presented and plated. They were all delicious. Highly recommend and a stunning view as well.

Fantastic dinning experience nestled in the Canadian Rockies. For this venue, you can walk up from the lakeshore entrance and wait to be seated. Guests of the hotel get first dibs and will be able to jump the line. You do not need reservations to get a table. Great views of Lake Louise from their patio with gas fire pits- seating for parties of four or under. Inside dining accommodates guests in parties of 5 or more. Lunch menu is small but good, with many options for those with restrictions. Opens at 12pm, with a selection of beer and wine and spirits available. Ground squirrels do go into the restaurant seeking table scraps, so be on the lookout for them scampering up your leg!

Our server, Andrea, was so welcoming and provided great recommendations! The food was delicious and the negroni had the extra oomph. Beautiful views are a given. The host on the other hand was difficult from the beginning. She violated many laws from the time she didn’t want to seat us, questioned how much we would spend there, and kept coming to pester us after we had finally been seated. The first interaction shouldn’t be this unpleasant. If we had walked away because of her, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to let Andrea turn our experience around.
Bhavaya S — Google review
Lakeview Lounge is way better and actually cheaper for dinner !! The service is good, but the food needs improvement. The carpaccio was tasteless, the grilled lamb (we ordered medium) was hard+overcooked, the charred crust tasted a little bitter so I requested one particularly blackened piece to be replaced (was told by a staff it’s due to the marinade. The replaced piece was medium). The ‘holy trinity meat’ lack meatiness and overwhelmingly salty. The organic chicken was actually a breaded chicken cutlet.
Mommy M — Google review
It was our first time visiting, and tried getting a table on the patio to be able to enjoy the view. Even though half of the patio was empty, we were told those tables were for hotel guests only, the only availability being for tables inside. We decided to go for it since it was our only food with partial view option. What a disappointment! We were sat behind a pillar, barely any view. Top dollar prices for just an average experience. The cocktails and service were good, but food was mediocre. If I’m paying $30 for a ham and cheese sandwich, I’m expecting at least a view to make up for it. The bar service was slow, but our server made up for the long wait. If you’re looking for enjoying a meal with a view, you’re better off grabbing a sandwich and drink at the coffee shop and having it by the lake. For a third or quarter of the price! We were expecting a little bit more from a luxury resort I guess! Fairmont Banff Springs on the other hand was spectacular!
Alina P — Google review
We had a wonderful dining experience at Louiza! As walk-in guests, we weren’t able to sit on the patio since it’s reserved for hotel guests, which is completely understandable. The staff were very welcoming and courteous, making us feel comfortable seated by the window with a nice view of Lake Louise. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, with a bar and a station where it looked like the chefs had access to gourmet salads, very cool! Our server, Antoinne, was fantastic, friendly, accommodating, and attentive to all our needs, ensuring we had a great experience. The food was delicious, and to be honest, the prices were similar to restaurants outside the hotel, so it wasn’t too expensive at all. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and highly recommended!
Ralph — Google review
The staff was very nice, but the price didn't match the quality and quantity of the food. The $38 seafood entree was worth $22 at most in my opinion. The salads, which I ordered for two, were worth $15-18 at most.
Victor Z — Google review
We went for the breakfast buffet and it was amazing! They had smoothies, teas, coffees, delicious egg benedicts, and a really good Reuben croissant. The pastries were excellent, and everything was fresh and constantly refilled, which I really appreciated. Our server if I’m not mistaken, her name was Claire was so kind, and the manager who seated us was also lovely. They even gave us a little bag so we could take some pastries or fruit with us, which was such a thoughtful touch. It was just $50 per person, and honestly, such a great deal for the quality and service. The buffet was a bit small, but I think that’s because they focus on keeping everything top quality and it really shows. We loved the whole experience.

Nestled in the heart of Banff National Park, overlooking Lake Louise and surrounded by the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Post Hotel & Spa is a sophisticated mountain retreat. Originally established as the Lake Louise Ski Lodge in 1942, this charming hotel features a rustic design with log walls, stone fireplaces, and a vibrant alpine roof.
Our stay at the Post Hotel and Spa was truly 5-star from start to finish. We were greeted warmly at check-in, and they even helped us with our luggage to the room. The lobby set the tone right away with live piano music—such a relaxing vibe. The room itself felt extra special with a personalized note, chilled champagne, and a fruit basket waiting for us. We loved the charm of the place, especially the outdoor patio overlooking soothing grounds with a rushing stream and stunning mountain views. The whole atmosphere felt wonderfully international. We dined at the Outpost Pub for dinner and enjoyed a more formal breakfast at the main restaurant—both were excellent, and the service was impeccable. The waitresses made our meals extra enjoyable. The location couldn’t have been better, and the tram to Moraine Lake was surprisingly thoughtful, offering water, snacks, and even rain ponchos. Although we didn’t use the spa this time, it’s definitely on our list for next visit. Overall, the Post Hotel is the perfect luxury basecamp for exploring the area—we can’t wait to return!

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Rooms were cosy, beds comfortable, bathrooms well stocked. Staff were friendly but unfortunately service wasn't up to par. We had a room transfer where our bags were lost, a bed wasn't made up. Tea was provided but not a kettle. Unfortunately we had to chase up getting a kettle delivered and where our bags were mutliple times. I would not recommend the laundry service either - no one seemed to know when or where our laundry would arrive and it took many follow ups to get any answer regarding where our laundry was or even if we would get it back before left. Housekeeping were prompt - thankfully! Our service for breakfast was also lacking. Overall we felt as though we were either forgotten about or perhaps we didn't find someone to help us that was happy to take responsibility and get us what we needed. I'm not expecting hotel staff to kiss my shoes but I am expecting hospitality that matches the price paid to stay at this hotel. After our first night I was wishing to come back but but the time we got to check out, I will try a different hotel next time.

What a great time. The room was perfect in front of a running river. The staff from the beginning to the end was very helpful and knowledgeable . A Michelin Key for this hotel? Broken hot tub and 5 machines in the gym out of order. Pool has cold water. The good: wonderful linen. Elevated food. Great waiters. The bad: above stated. FIX your machines and hot tub. Warm up the pool so that it can be used. Note: I am changing my review and adding one more star because the hot tub was fixed the same day. The machines in the fitness room were still broken during out entire stay. We really enjoyed our stay and hope that the next time we return that the fitness machines are fixed. The rest of the Post was amazing. As stated, loved the food and also our massages were top notch.

Our stay at the Post Hotel was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of. The setting is absolutely magical — nestled in the mountains, with views that look like a postcard in every direction. The service was exceptional. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. You can tell they care about creating a relaxing and memorable experience. The accommodations were elegant, cozy, and full of character. We especially loved the charming details throughout the hotel — it felt luxurious without being stuffy. The wood burning fireplace was perfect for evenings spent inside. We also have to mention the food — amazing. The Dining Room is a must. 10/10. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, and the wine list is out of this world. The Outpost (fast casual option) was also outstanding. Dining here was a true highlight of our trip. This place is perfect for anyone looking to unwind, enjoy nature, and be pampered. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back. It really is a special place.

We booked a last minute trip to Banff at the end of July, and after reviewing the many options of where to stay and who to stay with, we could not be happier with our experience at the Post Hotel. I am a frequent business traveler, but not someone who cares about a fingerprint on a champagne glass, take the low reviews with a grain of salt! This hotel is EXCELLENT. It is a charming 3 story lodge property perched right on the river, and while clearly an older historic building, it has been updated, cleaned, and maintained to the highest standard. This is not one of those old hotels that has grime in the corners, there is clearly care being taken by the staff. It doesn't feel "old", but it does feel appropriate for the setting! The parking lot is free and generous, the lobby is warm and inviting, and there IS a modern elevator for you and your bags. The staff were incredibly friendly and inviting, and the complimentary morning coffee and afternoon tea were such a treat. No it is not air conditioned, but the overnight lows in July of 40-50F were not a problem at all. If you have ever been to the Austrian Alps, this is right on par with the well-kept charm you would experience there. We did experience a power outage in the early morning hours that lasted for about 14 hours (something clearly out of the hotels control), but before we woke up, battery lanterns had been set out by every door, and they did their very best to accommodate every need from the guests during this time. Staying in Lake Louise village is a treat, this hotel is steps away from the village shops and the visitor center, and a short walk away from many restaurant options. The views are immaculate, and I could not recommend it enough. No, it's not the cheapest hotel stay, but you are paying a premium for the location in one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world, and while its not the Waldorf Astoria, you are still getting an excellent stay. Bravo!

Second time staying here. I appreciate the comfortable and quiet rooms, and complimentary afternoon tea and early morning coffee set out on each floor of the hotel for us early risers. Richard at the hotel entrance was especially helpful and gave us valuable hiking recommendations. Would definitely return.

Great service but industrial levels of rail transport between 9:30pm and 10:30pm (and more). Staff was great but the hotel is sitting metres from a trans-Canada train transport line that has multiple locomotives and thousands of freight trains running full on for hours. Industry meets Canada’s best “National” Park…yikes.

I’m eating this smoked salmon bagel right now and it’s probably the worst smoked salmon bagel I’ve had in my life! What have they done to my poor baby!!? They serve a cold deconstructed (build it yourself) version in shrink wrap. Sad. Thank you for your attention to this matter. The service was great, so it’s got that going for it which is nice.

This is an incredible bakery that I stop in every time I pass by Lake Louise. I always grab a breakfast sandwich- even their buns are homemade- soft, so fresh and so so delicious. I also always grab a bakery item- they have a huge selection, especially if you come early in the morning. Everything is baked in house. I love the hazelnut bars. So nice to go eat down by the river surrounded by gorgeous mountain views. This is generally a busy place, so be prepared for a line up, especially during peak season.

The food is pretty good, not great. Likewise for the atmosphere and service, but what you get here is good value in an area with otherwise astronomical pricing. Here’s a local knowledge tip - all hot food is discounted at 30% off for the last hour before closing. If you are hiking/climbing in the Lake Louise area and on a budget, make this good deal on food a part of your daily routine.

While the bakery was busy, they have a great process / approach to helping the customers so you do not feel like you're standing in line forever. One staff helped by handling bakery orders while the staff at the cash register handled the drink orders. Very professional and drink orders were filled quickly, and they were awesome! Baked goods were likewise amazing!!

We ordered a meat pie each and the quality was consistently bad in our opinion. Flakey floury pastry - good thing they included a fork as you couldn't lift it out of the foill tray. Both had largish chunks of meat that were far from tender and some pieces with gristle. Gravy thin and more suited to chicken than beef pie. Shop looked nice and other food may be OK however I would not recomed the pies.

This restaurant is part of the CRMR group and they maintain high and consistent standards. This one is set in a very rustic log cabin hotel in the middle of arguably the most scenic areas in Canada. The food was delicious as expected, ambiance was wonderful. The three of us had their duck confit, pork chops, and mushroom pappardelle, all fabulously presented and prepared. Their pricing, like many similar restaurants, had entrees ranging from $30 to $60 so won't be for the budget conscious but was in line with other quality establishments. I would recommend it for our car club's next dinner event.

The location of the place is great and the ambiance is good too. We had lunch here. The service was super slow. The food was coming in really late. It is expensive too. Some of the food items were good, some were not. The good ones were game meat burger, flatbread, cauliflower and garlic soup, molten chocolate with ice cream, vanilla cheesecake. The bad ones were farfelle pasta and veggie board.

We came here for Brunch to escape the cold. The chicken and waffles was one of the best meals we had on the trip. I kind of regret both of us not getting this. If you come for brunch, get the chicken and waffles. (The chicken and waffles deserves the 5th star.) I got a sampler plate with 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 1 Buffalo sausage, a small breakfast steak, and some breakfast potatoes. It was okay, but nowhere near as good as the chicken and waffles. Service was a bit slow, but we were also there at a bit of a weird time (so I think there was only 1 person taking care of everyone in the dining room).

The worst service and one of the longest wait times for food ever. Avoid if you can. Yes we understand it is a very busy season during the 4th of July week and they are probably understaffed. But it is no excuse for the level of service (lack of) they provide. We sat at the bar, waited patiently for 10min without anyone greeting us. The bartender didn’t make eye contact with us once. And yes we had to ask to order food, and yes we had to ask for even water. Then the food never came. We checked in a couple of times and were told that the wait time is 50min - 1hr and so deal with I it. And yes all our food took 50min to come even the salads. And the food was very very meh and undercooked. Def a total rip-off considering the price point. :( At the end of course we had to go to the counter to ask for a check and a refill of water. Wish we had read some of the bad reviews about its lack of services…
Billy X — Google review
The only reason I am rating 3 stars is because the food is way overpriced. It tasted fine. However, for two people spending over $120 on two entrees, a small salad and two drinks was definitely not worth it. The wine I had tasted watered down and I couldn’t finish it. The pizza was alright, I ordered from the lounge menu. The bison my partner ordered was good but so small, maybe three or four bites worth. If you are going to want to spend some money on a nice dinner I recommend going to the Fairmont instead and you can expect similar pricing and better food.
Aimèe B — Google review
Food was surprisingly good. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look quite that inviting but once you step in it's like a totally different experience. I had their Atlantic salmon. It was described as having homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, which I was kind of not sure about since you would expect that at a less costly restaurant, but boy did they deliver with an amazing tartar sauce and the coleslaw wasn't that bad either. It's salmon was cooked to Perfection perfectly seared on one side and moist and tender on the other. I did find however that the seared side was overly salty. I also thought that they should have included a bit more starch / carbs with the dish as the potatoes while amazingly flavoured didn't feel quite as filling. I had their peanut butter cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake part of the cheesecake was amazing, especially with the chocolate sauce that they use for garnish. However I found that the crumb was a bit too sweet to balance with their berry coulis. I also didn't think the berry coulis was anything special. While it added a nice fresh tartness to balance the creaminess of the cheesecake, it didnt really go with peanut flavor. The best part of the night was their british server lewis. Overall id probably go again.

I Absolutely enjoyed our experience here. The service was phenomenal and prompt. Cutlery and dishes were spotless! And let’s talk about that view. Down right gorgeous. As For the meal, We went with a Game chorizo Linguine. Good size portion and fill our stomachs. If you’re in this area I highly suggest to swing by. You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful location and view, but was very disappointed with the service. Very limited menu with no vegan options and very little for vegetarians. Definitely not a good place for children - outside of the comfy highchairs. The bathrooms were not clean and didn't even have changing tables. Food was pricey and wasn't great. Very hard for me to give such a negative review and I don't do it often, but in this case it is warranted.

Most amazing pizza ever!! We loved it so much we came back 2 days later. We also had pasta and several desserts which were delicious as well. Our servers each time were wonderful (Matthew and Morgane). You may have a wait to be seated around dinner time but it is SO worth it. We will be back on our next trip!!

A Hidden Gem for Pizza and Pasta Lovers! I had the pleasure of dining at Timberwolf Pizza & Pasta, and I must say—it exceeded expectations in every way. 🍕 Pizza – The wood-fired chicken pizza was a standout. With its perfectly blistered crust, generous chunks of juicy chicken, fresh basil, and gooey melted cheese, each bite felt like a cozy, flavorful embrace. The sauce had just the right tang and depth to tie everything together beautifully. 🍝 Ravioli – The ravioli was rich and indulgent, enveloped in a creamy sauce with a hint of spice and herbs that balanced the dish impeccably. Fresh, comforting, and satisfying. 🍰 Dessert – We ended the meal with a mini cheesecake topped with vibrant berries and drizzled in a berry coulis. Not only was it plated like a piece of art, but it also delivered on taste—refreshingly tart with just enough sweetness. 🏡 Ambience – The restaurant has a warm, rustic charm with wooden interiors, modern chandeliers, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that feels like a treat but still lets you unwind. 💧 Service & Presentation – Everything was served with care, from the artisan-style plating to the attentiveness of the staff. It’s clear that quality is a priority here. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area—perfect for a relaxed date night, family dinner, or a cozy solo meal with good food and good vibes.

It was very busy this evening, however the Host (I believe her name was Elizabeth?) this evening (July 3rd) was so kind and welcomed us with a smile and warm welcome. She assured us she would get us to a table as soon as possible and one became and that she did. We only waited 15 minutes. She also informed us that we were able to get take away drinks while we waited, which came in handy. Thank you for that! Food was delicious, I loved the pizza. It would quite loud and at points crowded but definitely worth it for the delicious food. Our server was so kind and as busy as she was, was very quick to help as soon as she could. Will definitely be back to enjoy another meal and meet all the wonderful staff.

We LOVED this place. I did the build your own pizza and my boyfriend got the chicken Parmesan. Both were amazing! I got the truffle dip on the side to dip my pizza crust in and 10/10. Would definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

Parking can be limited, but it’s close to a parking lot that offers 2 hour free parking (Samson Mall). Pizza and Greek salad was delicious! Service was good for how busy they are.

Had a wonderful time at Timberwolf Cafe. The Pizza was definitely a highlight for me. Cooked to perfection and don’t get me started on the crust. Our server, Johnathon, was also wonderful. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait.

The Timberwolf is a casual restaurnt/bar in the Lake Louise Inn, serving pizzas, drinks. We arrived late, and they were mostly full. We asked for seats where we could watch the Blue Jays in their playoff series with the Yankees, and they put is right in fornt of a big screen tv. Kudos. We ordered the Spiced Sirloin & Cherry Ember Pizza, asking for a thin, crispy crust. Unfortunately, the crust was not crisp, making it difficult to eat the pizza while holding it. It was tasty though. Service was prompt and courteous.
Doug D — Google review
Solid two star experience. Hundreds of rooms at this hotel, and despite having two restaurants on-site (Legends is the other), they only have one open for dinner they do not accept reservations. So, after waking up the stairs to the restaurant, which have entire families sitting on the stairs waiting for a seat, we obtained a buzzer, and waited over an hour for a seat. We ordered drinks and a pizza. The drink came less than full and not cold and the pizza came burned (see pics). Gains one star back because the unburned pizza was acceptable. Feels like the only reason this restaurant is still here is because people don't have any other options. Bring your own food and heat it on the dashboard of your car - it will be faster, better, and cheaper. Seriously.

Nestled in the picturesque Lake Louise, the Lake Louise Village Grill & Bar is a veteran eatery offering a diverse menu of Canadian and Asian cuisine. Whether you're seeking a quick bite or a more upscale dining experience, this family-friendly restaurant provides stunning mountain views through its surrounding windows. After a day of outdoor adventures, it's the perfect spot to unwind with casual burgers and beers while taking in the epic scenery.
This restaurant serves authentic Chinese food. The town of Lake Louise is not equipped with enough restaurants and most of them were packed but this one was readily available. We ordered Stir Fried Udon with Chicken and Curry Chicken and both were extremely tasty. The service was very fast and efficient. I think they need to advertise and operate as a Chinese restaurant to attract the customers who crave for Asian cuisines and fill the void in the area.

The Lake Louise Village Grill & Bar is a great spot for a meal, particularly for its fantastic location. The restaurant is easy to get to, making it a convenient stop after a day of exploring. The food was decent, a solid option that was satisfying and exactly what we needed. The service was also good; the staff were attentive and did a great job managing the busy summer crowd. Because of its popular location, the restaurant can get very busy during peak season. A heads-on to future visitors: be prepared for a crowd and bring your patience, but rest assured the team here works efficiently and quickly to serve everyone. Despite the high volume of customers, they handle everything very well and get the food out promptly. Overall, it’s a dependable place for a meal in Lake Louise, offering good service and convenience.

Excellent steak and food at Lake Louise Village Grill. We came here as part of our Banff Tour and the meal was preset for us so we didn't get a chance to look at the menu. Our steak lunch was great and the sides were good as well. The tea was a little weak and the corn soup was a little bland but with a little salt and pepper the soup tasted great! The salad was good also and the steak was cooked to perfection. The customer service was efficient and the restaurant was clean and well kept. I'm going to go against popular opinion on this one and give these guys a 5 as the meal itself was satisfying and our party of 14 all enjoyed our meal from all age groups. Thank you to the staff for feeding us! 5 stars!

Just average. Honestly It was less than our expectations for a restaurant in Lake Louise. Everything was ok but just standard, the food, the service, the cleaning. It’s just an average, a bit below average actually. The fact that they ask for tips and look what you select is not very nice. Prices a little high to the food served but wasn’t so high. We got fish and chips and the burger with salad. Probably best choice for this restaurant. 4 stars because I don’t want to hurt the business, expenses for them to run a restaurant here are probably very high.
Bonny G — Google review
Service was decent but took a while to get a table and there was quite a bit of a wait for the food too. Food was ok, good portion size. Fried rice was pretty good but a bit oily. The poutine was disappointing; I requested for ground beef but got bites of frozen burger patty cut into square portions… it’s also extremely salty. I was not able to finish it and only ate like 10% of it. Overall, I do not recommend. There are better options around.

Visit: June 29,2025 It was less than our expectations as a restaurant in Lake Louise. Everything was good but so standard, the food, the service, the cleaning. It’s just an average and they need more cleaning to washrooms. Prices a little high to the food served but wasn’t so high.
Hassan M — Google review
Food was disappointing, very bland and poorly prepared, with little flavour and unexpected texture, especially the “Chinese” food. Service and atmosphere were standard, but not worth the stop overall. If you’re visiting Lake Louise, I’d recommend going somewhere else to eat instead.

Tables, silverware, plates and glasses are clean and not sticky. The bathroom is a mess. The food is standard. We got the fish and chips and the fish was a healthy portion, the fries are normal. The salad was pretty good. Chicken tenders are dry and seem to have been cooked twice. The restaurant is just normal. Good if you're hungry.

Nestled in the heart of Lake Louise, the Lake Louise Inn offers a relaxed and economical stay with convenient amenities. The hotel features two restaurants, an indoor pool, and complimentary WiFi. It's a great choice for families as it is kid-friendly and even welcomes dogs in designated rooms for an additional fee. Its proximity to the train makes it easily accessible, and its straightforward rooms provide comfort at a decent price point.
This is a fantastic hotel. It was very easy to get to and so close to public travel to get to the mountains. They had shuttles on site and the bus literally across the road. We stayed here for our honeymoon and they treated us incredibly. We had an upgraded room, which was beautiful. The room was clean and beyond luxurious! The restaurant onsite was amazing to us. They compensated our deserts for our wedding night. The food was incredible. The staff on site was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I plan to stay here again and to tell my family and friends. It truly was an amazing experience and I am so grateful

conveniently located in Lke Louise village, just off the Trans Canada. IIt is a reasonable option as compared for example to the Lake Louise Fairmont, in term of price, availability, and access. However, on check in they did not explain how transporationn up to Lake Louise and Moraine worked - and did not mention they have their own shuttle bus to both locations (not free but competitively priced). Bus shuttles are the final frontier at Lake Louise, which we had not researched enough prior to arrival. The are public shuttles at nominal cost, but they are booked way in advance, and the few spots they release each day online for the next day are gone in a flash. Then there are private bus services which charge about $50 to one of the lakes, or $90 for a shutlle to both lakes. We should have asked the front desk about the shuttles, but left to our own devices hired a private company for day 1, before discovering the hotel shuttle in time to use on day 2. Staff could have saved us a lot of angst by mentioning this service on check-in. The hotel has a “ski chalet” vibe, with a couple of restaurants. One serves breakfast. The buffet is very basic, but costs less than an a la carte breakfast when you add in the cost of coffee and juice. One nice thing was a station where you could make your own waffles. See separate review of the other restaurant. The hotel has plenty of free parking which is in scarce supply in Lake Louise.

The one bedroom newly-renovated condo I was in was very nice. First floor, had a nice patio, and daily housekeeping was included. It was very clean, cleaner than most hotels I've stayed in. The resort has many amenities I didn't have time to use, but you still have to pay an amenities fee. At the prices they charge for the room, it should be included.

Great location and a beautiful part of the world. Hotel is situated on fantastic grounds and the main hotel and reception is fantastic. My room was a little dates and had no air con and the TV was far too small. The rooms were clean but showing signs of wear and tear that really should be addressed given the price point of the accommodation.
Robert M — Google review
Our family stayed in a 1 bedroom condo last week and were very happy with our stay. There is a queen sized bedroom and a queen sized Murphy bed in the living room. The bedroom was comfortable although there can be noise from the parking lot as it’s on the first floor so you can hear cars starting and people moving their bags to check out. The bathroom was nice and updated. The kitchen was nice and has a dishwasher — we just used the fridge and microwave. The Murphy bed was a foam mattress that was comfortable and fairly easy to take up/down. There’s a door to an outside area facing some trees with 2 plastic chairs for the unit. The location is very nice. You can see the mountains from the property. There are picnic tables in several locations which we used on 2 nights to eat our pizza from the restaurant on site. Our kids loved the mini golf (it was cute and a nice way to pass a little time at the end of the day). They also loved the pool which was warm and great for a swim before bed. We also used the complementary bikes on the morning we checked out. They had 20 inch, 24 inch and small and regular adult bikes and helmets. We went on the Bow River trail right around the corner from the hotel and had a lot of fun (takes about an hour to go down and back). Bikes are first come, first served. Unfortunately the power went out at 2 am in all of Lake Louise while we were there and didn’t come back on until 3-4 pm. We managed in the morning getting ready and went out for the day. The hotel offered complimentary continental breakfast because of the outage. (Of note there was also a power outage earlier in July in Lake Louise I read about when I was looking at the news). Overall we had a nice stay. The renovated rooms were nice and we enjoyed the ground/amenities. The staff was very nice also. There’s laundry in each building ($8 to wash/dry) that was convenient. For sandwiches for the trails I recommend the Trailhead Cafe around the corner (they also had breakfast sandwiches/items but we didn’t try).
Christine F — Google review
There are a lot of resort fees that makes it expensive. The room we had on the ground floor and next to the laundry room was extremely noisy. Could not sleep due to traffic noise such as the staff pulling the laundry cart early in the morning. The ear plugs they provided didn’t help. No central air conditioning system. Has to use space heater and fans . That being said - the location was great and the grounds are beautiful. The staff friendly and polite.
Violet K — Google review
Reception staff were so lovely and friendly. The hotel seemed to be in a fantastic position to attend the lakes. The room, however, was horrendous. Extremely small and claustrophobic. The room was also extremely dated. We were given a room overlooking the pool. No air-conditioning and no windows to open. A very poxy and loud fan that stopped us getting to sleep. The bathroom was so small you had to wriggle around the door to get to the toilet. The restaurant was friendly and very helpful. Good quality food. Breakfast was very nice. Not good value for the money, especially when you take into consideration you have to pay extra for breakfast.

We booked a junior for a one-day trip at Lake Louise! Staff was super friendly and helpful! I prepared a proposal during my stay and the staff went out of their way to make the surprise perfect. They had upgraded our room, set up the petals and candles but also welcomed us for drinks at their patio. The rooms had a nice view to the mountains, and was clean! June Park and Alex from reception really outdid themselves. 100% recommend!

We had such a wonderful and unforgettable experience today at the Legends Restaurant inside Lake Louise. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine smiles. A heartfelt thank you to Marites, Brian, and Sammie for their exceptional service — they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Their kindness, attentiveness, and cheerful energy truly made our morning special. The company is incredibly lucky to have such amazing people on their team — they absolutely deserve a raise and recognition! The breakfast buffet was a delight. My sister and I had so much fun making our own waffles — a sweet little moment we’ll treasure. The hot chocolate was like a warm hug in a cup, the smoothie was fresh and energizing, and the full English breakfast was simply divine. We left with full hearts and happy bellies — and we’re already looking forward to coming back!

This place was very warm coming from outside. There was no wait at all which was surprising. The staff were very kind and helpful about choosing your order. The food itself was okay, not that big of portions and pretty high prices.

Brayan was such a kind and helpful person. He has a deep knowledge of the area. He provided maps, made recommendations based on weather and conditions, and gave tips on the best views. This was above and beyond for our breakfast here, which was also stellar. The food was delicious and great quality. The restaurant looks recently updated. I love the live moss wall that depicts the three sisters mountains. So happy we decided to sit for breakfast.

Had a wonderful meal at the Legends. The steak I ordered was a little overcooked for medium rare. The waiter (tall handsome man) apologised profusely, and changed the steak for the right medium rare. The steak turned out delicious. The service was excellent though food was a little pricey.

Good atmosphere. Decent foods—too pricey for the quality plus the wait time was soooooo long. We waited 40 minutes to get in when the restaurant didn’t look busy. After we sat, it took 10 minutes to get water and another 10 minutes to place our order then 45 minutes for them to bring the foods. At that point, everything is good to eat. What I like the most is probably their watermelon salad.

I enjoyed The Guide's Pantry throughout the years. It's a nice option from the sit-down restaurants in the hotel. There's a lot of quick meals to pack for a hike. I do see the issues others have pointed out regarding the restrooms. It's unfortunate that things have changed so much from years ago.

Yep, it super expensive, but that's what I expect to get a decent hot beverage and a tasty pastry in the middle of nowhere! They have a good selection of hot beverages, and pastries. Made my London Fog, little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam, with care and attention. The scone was also good to. Not lots of places to sit, and the bathrooms are only available to hotel guests. They are not interested in having people hang out like a typical coffee shop.

The atmosphere and service are great. They offer drinks in compostable cups and lids. The prices are higher than average, mainly due to the location, but the quality of the food and drinks is similar to that of a good cafeteria. The gelato was very delicious and definitely worth trying. They also sell there some lights spirits.

After you visit Lake Louise, and it needs to warm up. I suggest to give this place a try. We always come back and grab hot chocolate. The price is a bit on the higher side. There’s nothing we can do since this area is very a tourist area. However, the quality of pastry and hot chocolate is somewhat justifiably and makes it worth while to visit where you’re around. Note: there’s a washroom/restroom nearby and there’s no table around but there something to sit in beside the window.

Coffee and fresh pastries are good. Limited options and sometimes out of stock due to the huge influx of day trippers who come to see the lake. We were hotel guests and this little "grab and go" was crowded the whole time we stayed. The hotel tries to keep their experience elevated, but this is a tourist spot and that gives the hotel a different feel.

Known for its delicious tonkatsu ramen, the rich umami broth paired with tender chasu and a perfectly soft-boiled egg makes it a must-try. Beyond ramen, you can indulge in their flavorful Beef Teriyaki Bowl or enjoy unique drinks like Passion Fruit Lemon Green tea and Mango Lemon tea, complete with fun toppings like Aloe Vera.
The Beef Teriyaki Bowl and Tonkatsu Ramen are awesome! They’re delicious, and they also have pearl tea. We will definitely come back here when we visit Lake Louise. The prices are affordable, and it’s worth trying!

Decent meal for some boba and rice beef bowl. Not sure if I missed on teryiaki sauce but my rice bowl did not have any
Mark Y — Google review
Pretty good Ramen store, good flavor. They also get bubble tea and ice cream. The most impressive part was the songs. All my favourite Japaneese songs.

This is our first time in Obento. Went out for a refreshing drink and we really like the Passion Fruit Lemon Green tea. It tastes really refreshing. My friend ordered bao bun and it tastes really good for its price.
Dhemi L — Google review
We passed Lake Luise and stopped here for a nice Boba - The Mango Lemon tea was fresh and they have even Aloe Vera topping! The price is unexpectedly cheap for an area like this! They've even put a lemon slice in and it was also not just filled with ice like others do sometimes... so all in all worth a stop! Thank you^^
Michel M — Google review
Delicious tonkatsu ramen in a little cafe that also serves bubble tea, ice cream and Japanese snacks. Tonkatsu broth has plenty of umami with rich depth of flavour. The chasu is melty soft and plenty flavourful. A nicely done soft center egg tops it all off. So good that we ordered a second serving! Well worth the stop for some ramen.

Ramen is good! I love the pork. It’s so juicy and yummy. The store view is amazing.

The ramen and teriyaki rice bowl were so delicious that I ended up eating everything. This place is really amazing.

Grocery store
The Village Market is a small grocery store located in Lake Louise, offering a surprisingly good range of food despite its size. While some reviews suggest it closes early and lacks stock, this doesn't seem to be the case. The store has a variety of items including meat, vegetables, rice, pasta, sauces and more. It's recommended to stock up in Canmore before visiting due to high prices.
A fantastic market. It has everything a visitor might need for an extended stay in the Canadian Rockies. Can goods, fresh veggies and fruit, breads, drinks and the alike. I really can't think of anything else a visitor (or resident) might need. I wouldn't expect to find rare products, just standard market fare. There is plenty of parking in a very busy parking lot adjacent to the market and other little shops in the village. I would suggest walking through the parking lot very carefully. There's a lot of distracted vehicle traffic moving about.

We came to this place for some groceries and souvenirs. There weren’t any souvenirs at all but they had a decent selection of groceries. One bad thing is that most of the item didn’t have prices or the correct prices And their meat, vegetables, fruit, and pre cooked meals didn’t have any ingredient labels. The cashier was also very out of it not helping or giving a care in the world besides their phone.
Maxim G — Google review
This little market is great and punches above its weight. Large selection packed into a small space and ranges from low-brow to high-brow. Options for special dietary restrictions. Good stuff.
Lauren R — Google review
Great choice right next to lake Louise We got breakfast sandwiches (egg one was my favorite), bananas and apples for snacks. They had a good variety of candies and protein snacks- perf et for our hiking purposes. Their homemade chocolate banana bread was amazing! Highly recommend!
Marta S — Google review
The only groceries store in Lake Louise. It's pretty tiny, so no in store bakery, deli or meat section. It has a small bulk food, fruit and vegetable section. Along with the typical dry goods and freezer section. There's a high number of on camera signage, so maybe there's a lot of tourist stealing. If you enjoy my reviews, please check out my YouTube food channel!

Clean little market with groceries, fresh produce and stuff. Bug spray and camping gear Thank you from your Arizona friends 😎😇🙏

How are people giving this place anything but a 1 star review? Do they enjoy getting ripped off? I checked it out to see for myself. Refused to buy anything. Examples: $5.75 for a can of soup, $9 for a loaf of bread, $9 for a roll of tinfoil, etc, etc. it’s quite ridiculous. Almost seems like a big joke! It’s worth a visit to see for yourself!! Good entertainment!
M — Google review
Everything is way overpriced. We ran out of diapers for our baby and had to pay 3x of what you would pay at any other grocery store. Needless to say: only buy here if in desperate need. I would even consider driving to Banff in most cases

The Chateau Deli is a small deli that offers specialty coffees, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches in the morning. The rest of the day they have soups, salads, and pastries. The coffee is good, but the prices are high.
Great spot to grab and go a coffee or quick bite to eat while visiting Lake Louise. Prices are a bit expensive but that is to be expected. Lots of variety to choose from you will not be disappointed!
Chris N — Google review
Delicious Cafe to grab drinks and snacks. Dine-in is only open to hotel guests but the deli is open to all. Highly recommend checking it out. It is also your only option for food in the vicinity of the lake. I got a cheddar and jalapeño scone and chocolate pretzel. The scone was better!
Zarwah — Google review
Though the line up can be utterly ridiculous the food is reasonably good. Coffee is regular drip but they do make some specialty espresso. The baked goods are absolutely delicious. They are all made on premises by the best there is in the mountains.
Adam F — Google review
I only gave 3* as the Deli, Restaurants and Cafes are only for hotel guests. Tourists or other visitors are out of luck for trying to get lunch or dinner here. Otherwise, scenery and ambiance of the hotel was superb. This Deli is inside the hotel.
Kathlyn S — Google review
Good coffee, good snacks, price is high, but that’s expected at this location.
Ryan P — Google review
The food here is delicious and the staff are super friendly! There is plenty of variety and it is open to the public, not just hotel guests. The only downside is that it is very expensive but it is open 24 hours which is a perk.

Mediocre expensive food that always comes with national beauty spots. $11 chicken pot pie will fill you up slightly along with a lighter wallet.
MQ — Google review
The food is delicious! My buddies and I ordered the chicken pot pie and the chili and we loved it. My friend ordered a white hot chocolate and they did not like it at all. She said it was too watery. But my other friend had a regular hot chocolate and she really enjoyed it! Could've just been a one off because the food was great. Everything was pretty affordable especially for the serving sizes! It's a nice little area. Not too busy. Very casual. There's an alright view of the rest of the chateau. Lots of natural light from the windows.

24AFTERNOON TEA

Indulge in the quintessential British tradition of Afternoon Tea, a delightful experience that combines delectable treats with a relaxing ambiance. This time-honored ritual typically includes an assortment of finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and an array of sweet pastries and cakes. Enjoy a steaming pot of freshly brewed tea as you unwind in elegant surroundings.
Chin served us and it was overall a really nice experience. You could reserve at the hotel beforehand and the service was spectacular - Chin offered many photo opportunities for us, both with our phones and our polaroid (even though he hasn’t used one before). The pictures turned out well! He was super friendly and engaging and made the experience overall very memorable. It’s a more extravagant way of enjoying high tea, but the experience was worth it, especially with the lake views outside. It came in a set menu so everyone got the same food options, but I believe there were options for people with dietary restrictions. Each food item was delicious, and come in hungry since it’s a bit difficult to finish everything! I really liked the sandwiches and the desserts were made so well. 10/10 spot for instagram photos and suitable for dates and enjoying in a group. We also got a postcard at the end. Would love to come again!

Heads-up, they've upped the price to $115 now. Beautiful atmosphere and aesthetic (Lake Louise is Louising!), though definitely bring your wallet. Not sure if I'd pay this price again. Food-wise, I didn't expect to be so stuffed at the finish but was pleasantly deceived with a delicious experience. (And +1 to a previous review; Emily is a superb server! Kudos to the Fairview staff all around. They've got hospitality down pat.)
Grace C — Google review
The views are stunning and the service is exceptional. Every table was full and yet the atmosphere was relaxed and it was not too noisy. We noticed everyone leaving with leftovers. The tea would be much better if there was an additional savoury item and two to three fewer desserts. They were so sweet that a half one was enough. Definitely worth doing once.
Cathy C — Google review
The view! Our table was over looking the amazing Lake Louise - and the mountains! The staff were amazing and the chief was able to cater to my dietary needs which made the whole experience fantastic. Will come again for sure!
Melinda B — Google review
This was one of the best memories from our trip to Banff. The manager made us feel so welcomed, answered all my questions about the menu (gluten free and vegetarian), the server went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, and even the young man who brought our the scones was a delight. All the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. We were stuffed and even had left overs. I hope we'll get to return someday!
Kate N — Google review
A bucket list experience on a recent trip to Banff (from Australia). It was worth it despite the steep price . Service was top notch, the selection of savouries and sweets nice enough but perhaps not exceptional. I would have given it 5 stars except for 2 minor points. The tea was not hot. By the time it steeps in the pot for a few minutes, it’s lukewarm. The other negative was that there are no utensils of any kind for taking the items off the tiers and putting them on your plate. A little pair of tongs would have been nice instead of having to grab stuff with your hand. It’s a pretty classy establishment so this surprised me a bit. Definitely a worthwhile one-off experience overall.
Monika M — Google review
Service and the view is exceptional! The food was extremely disappointing to say the least!! Sandwiches were stale, scones fell apart when you broke a piece off-stale. The desserts were good. To pay for the bus from the parking lot and then high tea for 3, it was a $450 day. We knew the cost going in-no problem-but make it memorable! It was memorable for all the wrong reasons!
Tara W — Google review
Visited on a Thursday afternoon and it was not that crowded. Good for gathering with friends or family. Nice restaurant located in the hotel next to lake Louise. Waiter was friendly and explained the menu. Choice of mocktail is available. Food was delicious and the tea was fragrant. If you need to visit the restroom, you will have to get a card key from the restaurant front counter and return it after use.
