Truck stop
Blackfoot Truckstop Diner is a classic throwback diner located in Calgary, originally established in 1956. It offers all-day breakfast, comfort food, and homemade desserts. The diner is known for its iconic flapper pie and traditional diner fare such as bacon, eggs, pancakes, BLTs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Despite changes in ownership and hours of operation due to the pandemic, Blackfoot Truckstop Diner remains a beloved spot for both truckers and locals seeking authentic diner cuisine.
Fantastic place. Train still runs along the ceiling!!. Food is awesome. Table tops worn down to an awesome patina. Our server Ashley definitely knows her stuff!
John N — Google review
this is a diner and truck stop that is near Inglewood and a wonderful gem filled with character, affordable and delicious food, and a staff that will make you want to come back over and over. the menu has a lot of interesting items, pictured is the Flapper Pie which is kind of like a custard covered with the mountain of meringue/marshmallow. probably the best pancakes in town and something for the Young generation and those who enjoy classic home cooked meals. the pies are obviously amazing and the milkshake is fabulous. daily specials, huge portions, fair prices and cool decor. yes it can be a little bit dingy but it's part of the atmosphere, the food is totally worth your time. the second thing you're going to talk about when you leave this place is what you are going to have when you come back.
AB F — Google review
Pretty good for what you get. Relaxed atmosphere with good music. Waitresses feel a bit rushed even with a bit of the wait on the food. Quite filling thankfully! Lemon pie was good.
Allam E — Google review
Stopped in at this iconic Calgary diner on Saturday morning... Was immediately greeted by a friendly server that asked me if I would like coffee to start as she directed me towards an open booth. This place is very spacious and quite unique with the decor in mind. The food is what you would imagine from a Truckstop Diner, just good short order items without the 'frills' at a reasonable price... I don't come down to this area of the city too often. However, if I am downtown early in the morning then I am happy to swing over to the Inglewood region and grab a good solid breakfast..... Bottom Line: 8.8 out of 10

This diner is absolutely beautiful on the inside, filled with Americana and an assortment of kitsch trinkets speckled throughout. A model train circles the diners on a track suspended below the ceiling. Despite it not being that busy when we walked in, at around 5:15, the two waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. When our order was being taken, we got ID'd, and when satisfied with our credentials, the waitress hurried off before we could continue ordering. It took an inordinate amount of time to get what we first ordered, two beers. At that point we put in our orders. Our waitress was curt, and seemed to be in a rush, cutting off my partner before he could finish stating his initial order. We didn't exactly feel welcome. Our food was finally served a little after 6. The poutine was quite good. The gravy seemed to be of the chicken and mushroom variety, and was well thickened. The crinkle cut fries were crisp and hot, and although the curds weren't large, they were plentiful, room temperature, and tastefully arranged. 8.5/10 on the poutine. My partner's club sandwich, on the other hand, was dry, and the side of crinkle cut fries were not hot. They were unapologetically lukewarm. 5/10. We finished eating at about 6:15 and were paid up by 6:25. It's possible that our waitress was simply in a bad mood, or having a bad day, but whatever the case, her tension was palpable, and it resulted us feeling like we shouldn't have come here. That, plus the food and drinks taking a very long time despite their simplicity and the waitress's fast pace. Maybe the result of understaffing?

Our next Sunday brunch spot was at the Blackfoot Truckstop Diner. It was ok. Wish the pork had seasoning. Lots of food to finish on the plate. At least we gave this place a try.
Ernie A — Google review
Fries are cold and hard, beef of beef dip is a little bit try. Mashed potato is a bit cold. Service is great, the lady is very nice.
Yelo — Google review
If you want a true diner experience, this is the place to go. Atmosphere - Straight out of 1993. There is a cute train track that runs along the roof around the entire place. The music is full of fun classics Food - Very good and filling. Basics that you get at any diner but with a very fair price. Service - Probably one of the best in Calgary. They make you feel like family with all the terms of endearment. They check in on you, without annoying your time and they keep your cup filled. Highly recommend!

Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Restaurant
Peters' Drive-In is a classic 1960s-era drive-in located in northeast Calgary, known for its timeless American diner-style menu. Despite the long lines that form no matter the season or weather, patrons eagerly wait for their turn to order hamburgers made from fresh Canadian ground beef and giant milkshakes with real fruit flavors like banana pina colada or maple peach.
Great burgers (make sure you get all the toppings) and the best onion rings in town. Shakes are the main attraction and always worth a visit. Loses a full star for the outrageous price for a sundae. $7 for a tiny ice cream amount, whip cream and a cherry on top. And then your topping choice. I had hot fudge which was fine but the value is not there. Always get a shake (up to three flavors from a huge selection). Highly recommend, but stay away from the sundae.
Owen T — Google review
Peter’s Drive-In is one of those classic places that never goes out of style. The milkshakes are definitely the main event — rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Always a treat and absolutely worth the stop. The burgers were good — not the best I’ve ever had, but still solid and satisfying. What really stood out to me were the crispy onion rings. Super crunchy, flavorful, and honestly one of the better versions I’ve had. They made the meal feel complete. Even though the place gets insanely busy, the staff were friendly and kept the service moving smoothly. The place was also clean and well-maintained, which you don’t always expect from high-traffic fast food joints. Overall, a great casual spot that delivers on classic diner vibes. Go for the shakes, stay for the onion rings. Definitely coming back.
Summer — Google review
I heard it's a must-eat dish when traveling to Calgary. It didn't look special, but it had an unusual taste. Especially, the fries and milkshakes were so delicious. I ordered a medium shake and a family-sized fries, but I couldn't finish it because the portions were too much. If you're traveling to Calgary, if you're passing by, you should try it.
Steve S — Google review
Back in the day, you used to be able to get a lot more Onion rings or fries with your order but they are still delicious, I ate them all. The best thing they offer is actually the milkshakes, so many flavors and it's so thick. The burgers are good, i do like the sauce on them. I enjoyed it. They are different than just your regular burger.
Amanda S — Google review
Tried the Oreo shake at Peter’s Drive In and it was one of the fabulous Oreo shakes I have ever had! The Oreo shake tastes just like the McDonald’s McFlurry. I would definitely recommend visiting this place for the shakes.
Rafay K — Google review
I don't know anything about their history; but what I do know is that they've got some amazing milkshakes. Came here by scooter and ordered an enormous milkshake for ~$7. The extra 80 cent upcharge to large is worth it! I went with a classic Oreo milkshake, but you can combine up to three flavors and make any combination your heart desires. The milkshake had a perfect texture, was delectable and sugary, and perfect on a hot summer day. What else can I really say? Come try this place if you're in the mood for milkshakes!
David P — Google review
The quality went downhill since our last visit and it wasn’t so hygienic not to wear gloves when prepping the food. I once worked in a food industry and we wore gloves when we prepare the food. Milkshake here is still the best though.
Charmaine — Google review
The hamburgers were delicious.A small order of fries ,3 people shared those! And the orange milkshake was yummy! We used the drive thru, service was upbeat and very efficient! We haven't been to Peter's Drive-In in years and was pleasantly impressed it hasn't really changed! 👏👏

Jerusalem Shawarma is a popular fast-casual spot offering Middle Eastern cuisine, including falafel, beef, and chicken shawarma. The restaurant stands out among other East Indian and Middle Eastern eateries for its exceptional food and tight operation. Customers appreciate the friendly staff who offer samples of delicious tea while waiting in line. The Chicken Shawarma Platter is a standout dish, featuring generous portions of salad, sauces, and flavorful chicken.
I absolutely love Jerusalem Shawarma! Their food is incredibly delicious. I really enjoy eating their shawarma — it’s always fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Their juices are very tasty and refreshing, and the baklava is simply amazing! Every visit is a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

I went yesterday and the experience was excellent. The food and drinks were delicious, especially the shawarmas, made exactly the way I asked. The place was spotless, smelled clean, and you could really see the attention to detail. I had a small issue, and without me even saying anything, someone came over right away and helped us find a quick solution. That kind of service truly makes a difference. The staff was very friendly. Definitely deserves all my stars. I’ll absolutely be coming back. A place like this is worth visiting again and again!

Unbelievable! The 4.9 rating is well-deserved! The hostess is incredibly attentive! We bought a family meal for four, which included a snack and a drink. The place isn't new, but it's not old either. The menu is very clear and has a wide variety. Every dish is delicious... Highly recommended (*^o^*)

Amazing food. The HUMMUS is to die for. Very friendly staff. Helped us get the most as a group as opposed to individual orders. Complimentary baklava too 😀😀😀. Will definitely come back the next time I am in Calgary. Stay blessed.!!!

This is a great place, one of the best shawarma places I've visited in calgary SW. The service is great staff welcomes clients very friendly. The food is fresh and delicious. Great area to dine in. Plenty of parking space. They even offer bites for clients to taste while waiting. One star missing because of one time the protein was a bit too low on the plate. Please visit this place and you will not regret any second of your visit!

Cluck N Cleaver in the Beltline area of Calgary is a family-owned counter-serve eatery known for its delicious fried and rotisserie chicken, biscuits, and sides. Run by Chef Nicole Gomes, a Top Chef Canada: All-Stars winner, this take-out joint has gained popularity for its mouthwatering offerings. The menu includes options like whole birds or three-piece meals with sides such as buttermilk biscuits, fresh cut fries, and rotisserie potatoes.
This was so flipping fantastic! The chicken was juicy, and perfectly cooked, the fries and gravy were phenomenal. Overall it was an A+ experience!
JC W — Google review
Nice !! I just came in for a quick snack. Wanted to grab some chicken nuggets or chicken tenders. Staff was quite helpful they explained that the chicken tenders are four large pieces of white meat while the crispy boneless bites are prepared with the dark meat... It goes by weight so I got a third of a pound for 9:25 and that gave me just over 12 large pieces of chicken which I was really shocked to see such a generous portion size for the price. Chicken is deep fried in a nice crunchy batter.. inside was tender and juicy. They also have a nice variety of dipping sauces that are seemingly in-house made and unique to this restaurant. This restaurant just geared to the grab and go customers mud the dryer by a couple of bench seats as well as a couple of picnic tables outside.. They also offer some good packages that you can bring home to the family. Which will set you back about $10 a serving for a family of five. They also offer some house brewed iced tea, malted chocolate milkshakes and some other unique sodas my favorite was the ginger beer which was packed with ginger flavor They also do catering. They have a location in Walden area if you're not keen on driving into the downtown area.
Robert S — Google review
Cluck N Cleaver came highly recommended and to say we were excited about trying them out is an understatement. However, the food was a let down. We ordered the four piece fried chicken. The person behind the counter was really pleasant and told us that our order would take us about six minutes. Five minutes later, we were walking out with piping hot chicken that smelled amazing. This was the last highlight of the meal. The fried chicken was...very well done, extremely salty, and almost impossible to eat without dousing it in ketchup. We were certainly hoping this place would be more than the hype. Can't say that it was.
Rebecca V — Google review
Fried chicken is absolutely amazing. Rotisserie chicken isn’t too bad but I wouldn’t be coming here for rotisserie chicken hit and miss with flavour and most times it’s dry. Fries are so so as well as the sides. My biggest complaint would be the value prices, astonishingly expensive, but it is good chicken if you can afford it.
Brandon L — Google review
Chicken is great; but watch out for green spots in fries ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ Cluck N Cleaver is easily my fav chicken spot in Calgary. The chicken is consistently juicy and flavorful, with breading that's perfectly crisp without being greasy. The dips are honestly next-level, especially the honey mustard and the blue cheese. They take the meal from great to amazing. If you like to dip I'd recommend getting two! The prices are reasonable too and portions are decent. The fries are also very tasty, but here's my one small complaint: every time I order them, I notice green spots on some of the fries (which comes from potatoes with light exposure). It's hard to tell from the picture I posted, but these fries had green tips on the ends. Usually the spots are much bigger, showing up on at least one or two fries per order. I'm not sure if Cluck N Cleaver cuts their own or if they come from a supplier, but I wish the quality control was a bit tighter on that. That said, I still happily order them. Just keep an eye on the fries. Even with that minor issue, I keep coming back because the chicken and dips are just that good. If you want some of the best fried chicken in the city, Cluck N Cleaver is the place to go.
Ryden K — Google review
Came down to River Hall and had one of their amazing mother clucker chicken sandwiches. So delicious and everyone there was wonderful. Do it! Come have a sandwich!!
Rodrigo N — Google review
The chicken itself was incredible. I got it as a sandwich, though, and a fried chicken sandwich is a whole other thing. There was no slaw, no pickles, the only sauce was mayo - so as a fried chicken sandwich, it had room to grow. That said, the chicken itself was out of this world. Almost excellent enough for the chicken's flavor profile to speak for the whole sandwich. Bun was small and simple, lettuce was just a leaf or two on top. Again, though - the chicken itself was incredible. If you come in looking for a chicken spot, you're in a great place. If fried chicken sandwiches are what you're into, know the Clucker is a bit of a minimalist option.
Jackie N — Google review
First time trying this place. The staff was amazing. I got the chicken tenders - the chicken was a great value, loved the battering and fry on it, I really enjoyed it but I am a dipper and love my honey mustard sauce as much as the chicken itself - except this time. The honey mustard sauce was horrible. Too much vinegar and left a horrible taste in my mouth. I was so disappointed I had to take the time to write in the hopes they may reconsider that receipe or opt for a commercially sold sauce.

Omgoodnessssss! This place is amazing! It was our first time here, and we will definitely be back! Our server Mairi took such good care of us, she was super kind and had great food suggestions, and she was right the brisket is crazy good! Portions are massive and the menu is very reasonably priced. Thank you for the great service and amazing dinner tonight!

Review for Big T's BBQ Place We had a fantastic meal at Big T’s BBQ — everything was absolutely delicious! Taylor was our waitress, and she went above and beyond to make our experience great. The meat was the star of the show: incredibly flavorful, cooked perfectly, and juicy throughout. The fries were crispy and tasty, the baked beans were rich and hearty, and the coleslaw (not the spicy kind) was fresh and super delicious. This was my first time trying hushpuppies, and I loved them! The first basket we received was large, light, and fluffy — absolute perfection. Taylor surprised us with a second basket because they felt we hadn’t gotten enough, which was so thoughtful. The second batch was smaller, denser, and more well-done — not quite my preference, but the gesture alone earns major points. My only critique was the cornbread. I personally prefer mine more moist, and this batch was on the drier side for my taste — though I’m sure others might love that style. Taylor also provided excellent takeaway containers for our leftover platter — super helpful and appreciated. Overall, the food, service, and attention to detail were top-notch. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

You want real BBQ experience...GO HERE! Even John Cattuci (You Gotta Eat Here on Food Network) did a segment. So yeah...eat here! Walking in, the interior gives a nice rustic vibe. It's clean, welcoming with plenty of seating. Also has an outdoor patio. The staff is warm, friendly and attentive. Menu has plenty of BBQ choices, including your standard fare of delicious meats smoked to fall off the bone melt in your mouth perfection. So go ahead a get your meat sweats on. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Poutine and WOW, melt in your mouth deliciousness bite after bite. I couldn't eat all the fries as I just wanted to go in for all the brisket I could find and wanted more lol! My partner ordered the Brisket Sandwich with a side of baked beans and coleslaw. He let me have a taste of the beans and I just wanted to dive in. Perfect balance of spices, molasses and their signature BBQ sauce. Food and service was great, beer good and cold and a true tasty BBQ experience overall!

Visited for the first time, and after a fantastic meal, won't be the last! Doesn't look like much when you pull up but the nice surprise when you walk in, is a clean nicely decorated rustic smokehouse vibe with plenty of seating and an outdoor patio at the side of the building. We were greeted firstly by the great food aromas and were seated quickly by the host. The waitress was fun and friendly and made her recommendations for us first timers. After a short wait time, she brought out our orders. I had the Smoked Brisket Poutine and my partner ordered the Pulled Brisket Sandwich with a side of their baked beans and coleslaw. It all smelled heavenly and the portions were generous. Well, I can't say enough good about the food! The brisket was tender melt in your mouth taste perfection! I tasted the beans and I just wanted to dive in. Quite possibly the best beans I've ever eaten with a perfect balance of spices, molasses and their signature BBQ sauce! For the food, atmosphere and staff, I highly recommend you visit to get your meat sweats on. And yeah, stretch-y pants. John Cattuci ( You Gotta Eat Here) did a segment highlighting this location. So yeah,..YOU GOTTA EAT HERE!!

Restaurant
Major Tom Bar is a stylish rooftop destination located on the 40th floor above Calgary's Stephen Avenue, offering sweeping city views. The bar serves craft cocktails and global fare, with classic dishes given a contemporary twist. The wine selection includes chilled reds and abundant organic options. Known for its exclusive ambiance, delicious cocktails, and amazing food, Major Tom offers revived salad options like the Waldorf salad alongside fresh classics such as Caesar, Citrus, and Golden Beet salads.
I’m visiting from the United States, and dining at Major Tom Restaurant has been one of the highlights of my trip to Calgary. This is truly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had — and that’s saying something! We ordered two salads, the gnocchi (which was rich and flavorful), a large porterhouse steak that was perfectly cooked, plus a few sides and desserts. Every single dish was outstanding. The quality, presentation, and flavors were top-notch. To top it all off, the restaurant has a stunning view of the city, which made the experience even more memorable. The service was excellent, and the overall vibe was refined yet welcoming. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in Calgary. If you’re looking for an incredible steakhouse experience, this place is a must-visit.

Overall, great atmosphere albeit pretty loud ambience. The good was simple but elevated experience, my favourite was their endive salad. The chicken was good, crispy, tender but also over salted. Burger had a nice brisket with over-seasoned fries. We had a good experience overall, and the prices are very reasonable given the location and view and overall food quality and portions. Would definitely return!

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The décor, lighting, and energy of the place instantly set the mood for a fun night out. The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell that a lot of care goes into both the cooking and the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always smiling, which made the whole experience even better. Shoutout Bill our server was amazing great drink recommendation and food recommendation. I left with a full stomach, a big smile, and memories of a fantastic night. I can’t wait to come back again

We had a three course meal and some shareables, as well as drinks. Both were on point. My wife had the cesar salad, duck breast and a dairy free desert. I had the beef tartare, icelandic cod and an afagatto. We shared the glazed pork belly and some truffle fries. It was probably the best meal we’ve had in years. Food, drink and service were flawless. I wish we could remember our waitresses name because she was amazing!

Fantastic drop in experience that surpassed all expectations. The food was delicious and filling. With the duck being a particular highlight. Rich, full of flavour without stripping the actual flavour of duck out and being tender while not void of texture. The entrees were delightfully flavourful and service was prompt, polite and attentive. We opted for a quick power lunch of two entrees and a main and left far more filled than we could have expected. I only had the peach old fashioned but if that was anything to go by I think any cocktail there is a good bet. The atmosphere was clean, cosy and luxurious. With decor within being art deco/ mid century and put together with such great attention to detail that you had as much a view inside as you did looking out the window. And goodness is the view from the window something to behold. No camera of mine would do it justice but seeing the Calgary skyline and mountains in the distance was spectacular for still being in the downtown area. Highly recommend the experience and if you get the stroke of luck I had. Seeing two peregrine falcons fly towards us and perch outside the window momentarily was an external factor but one that made it all the more memorable.

Major Tom is one of the more premium dining experiences available in Calgary. Located in a downtown highrise the views can't be beat; the ambience gives metropolitan vibe and the food and beverage offering reflect that. The service was top tier and our server kept a good check on us even tho they were perpetually busy. We were by for a quick drink and apps and got the tartare and a few other sides, all delicious and innovative. Major Tom is definitely a place to go and be impressive and be impressed. Recommend for first timers to specify when making a reso a window seat in case they can accommodate you. Finally, Fine Dining but make it cool! I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Major Tom Bar delivers a truly elevated dining experience high above the city. The atmosphere is stylish, the views are stunning, but the kitchen truly steals the show. Steak is a masterclass in preparation—perfectly seared, incredibly tender, and bursting with rich, savory flavor. No order is complete without Major Tots—crispy, savory comfort that perfectly complements the richness of the main course. I highly recommend Beet Salad and Charred Sweet Potato and for Pasta lovers Gnocchi and Campanelle must be tried. With impeccable service and top-tier food, Major Tom is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable, high-end culinary experience✨
Yuliia H — Google review
We have been excited to try Major Tom since they opened. Yes, the view is pretty impressive and the open space surprises you as you're in a building. We were told to get appies here over main dishes. Thus, we ordered the Major Tots, Oysters on the Half Shell, Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Hokkaido Scallop Crudo, and Roasted Scallops. My wife had the Oysters on the Half Shell. She said they were fresh and delicious. The Major Tots were impressive. The potatoe-y goodness with crispy exterior was complimented by a cream swirl. While pricey, the tots were worth it. The Yellowfin Tuna Crudo was a fun dish. The crispy squares paired well with the refreshing citrusy yellowfin tuna. Despite a similar name, the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo was served differently. They were on shells with a light acidic touch. Finally, the Roasted Scallops were perfectly cooked. They need nothing else to elevate them. We finished the meal with a Chocolate Millefeuille. It was not too sweet and well-balanced. It was a good ending to a good meal. We highly recommend the appetizers. It's a great place to stop by and grab a bite.

Cocktail bar
Asian restaurant
Restaurant
Paper Lantern is a hidden gem located in the basement of Calgary's Chinatown, offering a tropical Vietnamese dining experience. The menu features delectable dishes like pineapple stir-fry with pork belly mango salad and Vietnamese subs. Additionally, the cocktail bar is known for its unique drinks such as Saigon Sling and Banana Old Fashioned.
It was a Friday evening, we visited this bar with a reservation for 5 PM. While it wasn’t crowded when we arrived, the staff later informed us that there were bookings coming up, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The bar is located in a basement, creating a dimly lit, cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding. The drinks, although served in smaller portions, were flavorful and satisfyingly strong. As someone who loves sour flavors, I particularly enjoyed the Plum God—its tartness was just right for my taste. On the food side, the Beef Carpaccio stood out for me. The tangy-sweet sauce paired beautifully with the tender, juicy slices of raw beef, making it a refreshing and delightful dish. The service was also worth noting. The staff were friendly and attentive, offering helpful suggestions on food and drink pairings. Overall, this bar is an excellent spot for a relaxed evening, whether you’re there for the drinks, the food, or the inviting ambiance. Highly recommend :)
Cami L — Google review
I think this place is really hit and miss depending on the audience and your expectations. For me, it was a hit. I enjoyed the retro Asian restaurant vibes and the “hidden” element of being a speakeasy style restaurant/bar. The place apparently does get busy, but we went early on a Friday and there were maybe 3 tables there. I would still recommend a reservation just to make sure and that way you don’t have to think about whether or not you’ll get in. Their drinks were well crafted and had unique spins to them. I appreciate the attempt to try something different as that’s what makes cocktails fun. The food was okay, good for snacks, but not really a dinner spot I would say. Only real complaint I have is that things can take a while, including both food and drink. Come and stay for the retro feel and the unique drinks.

Speakeasy bar in chinatown. Not difficult to find though. Friendly staff Atmosphere is very casual and simple interior. The bar counter seating is nice. Decent cocktail selection. The Plum God cocktail is an interesting twist to a Manhattan. Presentation is very basic

I did not know this place existed in Chinatown! Paper Lantern is an Asian inspired speakeasy with many Asian inspired drinks. I tried the dragon palm and the serving for 4 people came in hoisin sauce can which I thought was a genius idea. For next time, I'd try the one inch punch just because of the name. The pandan actually tasted like pandan and there were so many more cocktails I couldn't decide between. The atmosphere was great with the dimmed red lighting and it wasn't too loud so you could chat with friends easily.

A little while ago, I came here with a group of 5 friends around 7pm when the restaurant was only hosting only 1 table at the time we walked in. A little later, 2 more friends wanted to join us. I know the policy is no groups larger than 6, so I asked our server if they could come. I even said that if not, we’re understand. She went to check with the manager and came back saying yes, it was fine since there were no reservations for the night. Before my friends even arrived, the restaurant started to fill up. Still, I figured it was okay because we were ordering plenty of food and drinks, not just sitting there. As soon as my friends sat down, the servers handed them menus but gave them barely 2 minutes to decide. They quickly ordered drinks, then placed their food order a little later. Right after the food order was taken, the server came back and told us we only had 15 minutes left at the table. That’s when we learned about the 2-hour time limit. I understand if that’s their policy, but if they weren’t going to restart the clock when new guests joined, they should have told us upfront. Instead, my two friends barely had 30 minutes to sit, eat, and drink. Then the bill came with an automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 6+. I normally don’t mind gratuity, but in this case it felt unfair. The service was rushed, inconsistent, and my friends hardly got to enjoy the experience. Honestly, it felt like they said yes to adding more people because the restaurant looked slow, but once it got busy, they rushed us out without hesitation, like they didn’t care about our business. I left feeling like we got scammed — not because of the gratuity, but because of the lack of transparency and how rushed the whole thing was.

Had the best time spending time with my girl friends and our server Kobe was AMAZING!! He overheard us in our conversation and he immediately tuned in and it was so much fun conversing with him like it was natural. Atmosphere was amazing as usual and the food as well no complaints! The other servers as well who helped serve our foods and complied with our requests were so friendly and kind! Definitely my favourite place with friends

This place is such an awesome experience. Upon first glance, the exterior looks questionable. Hidden in a decrepit looking basement entrance. When you make your way inside, you are greeted by a very cool, cultural atmosphere. Not too much light comes from the paper lantern lighting, but helps to set the mood and vibe of this place. The drinks.......oh my god, the drinks! Absolutely delicious, 10/10. Tried a few and they are all amazing. Different and unique with the flavor combinations, but so so tasty. We had the chicken banh mi and beef skewers. The skewers were quite small but very tasty. I def recommend this place! Don't let the front door scare you away.

We had brunch today to celebrate Mother's Day. They ushered us in even though it was 15 minutes early before opening. The staff were courteous and friendly and they made us feel very welcomed. The food was delicious. We had the smoked pork belly eggs benny, iceberg salad and the chicken cutlet croffle. We'll ask for some maple syrup next time for the waffles☺️ We were so pleased with our selections. They also served good coffee.

A lovely, well appointed Korean fusion restaurant in Bridgeland. We went for a dinner with friends, it was easy to make a reservation and the restaurant filled up as the evening went on. We enjoyed the Korean fried chicken, mushroom pizza, watermelon salad and dumplings. My 16 y/o fried chicken aficionado son declared it was the second best fried chicken he’s ever had; and we live in Texas! That is saying a lot since he had it leftover after burning it slightly in the toaster oven. I imagine if he’d been invited it would have been top of his list. The pizza was yummy and the watermelon salad noteworthy. The dumplings were a minor disappointment, our table found them too crispy outside but still too doughy inside. We opted out of dessert. The service was attentive and quick. Cocktails were enjoyable and I think next time I’d like to enjoy reverse happy hour. We found parking easily on the street out front

One word; Fabulous! This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We were there with seven people for a 40th birthday party and we shared 13 different dishes. Everything was fantastic. My favorites were the Roasted Cauliflower in a curry reduction and the Spring rolls. Every dish was a hit. We also had Deep fried mushrooms, Honey Butter chips, Jinbar Fried chicken, Beef Bulgogi Pizza, Beef Tartar, Flame Roll sushi, Pork dumplings, Brussel Sprouts, Ahi Tuna crudo and Confirm Garlic Parmesan fries. The restaurant was charming and cozy. I've included pictures of all of the food. Throw me a heart or two! ❤️

My husband and I dine out A LOT all over. Jin bar is very local and walking distance to our house so tonight we decided to check it out. This place blew our minds! The food was next level amazing. Service and atmosphere was really good too! I don’t know if I will ever get over how good the food was though. Even the way it was presented was incredible. The drinks were also original and over the top.

Came here for dinner with a friend and had a wonderful experience. The place has a great vibe and the service was excellent. We ordered a few dishes to share, starting with the Kimbap, it was decent, though a bit underwhelming for me. The Garlic Parmesan Fries, however, were my absolute favorite: perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy inside, and paired with a delicious sauce. We also tried the Salt and Pepper Mushroom, which was tasty and had a nice tempura-style batter. The highlight was definitely the Honey Garlic Butter Fried Chicken, so flavorful and satisfying. Overall, my friend and I left very happy and would absolutely recommend this spot!

Good food, good service. Had the jinbar fried chicken and pounded cucumber salad. The cucumber salad definitely had some attitude if you’re a spice lover. The chicken was amazing and portion size was larger than expected. Staff was welcoming. Visited twice during my short stay. Definitely would recommend for a unique food experience.

Everything from the food, to the vibes and the service is top notch here! We came for brunch on a Sunday and will definitely be coming again for it and to check out dinner. The Eggs Bennys and the French toast are delicious. Rouge is a high-end restaurant housed in an 1890s building, offering refined farm-to-fork meals and an extensive wine selection. The historic Cross House provides a charming setting filled with modern art, where patrons can enjoy dishes made with local ingredients, including those from the restaurant's own garden. Standout menu items include Poached Fogo Island Cod and Alberta Lamb Cassoulet, which can be paired with exceptional wines.
After years of intending to come to Rouge, we finally decided to act for a special event. We both chose to order the tasting menu ($120 each) but did not add on the $75 wine pairing (each). Apparently the wine pairing is about 3/4 of a bottle so we passed since I had driven. This is a satisfying 6 course meal. We had expected tiny decorative serving and I had joked we could stop at Macdonalds on the way home, but we were both full at the end of the night. Each course comes out with enough time to fully enjoy the flavors, which led to a very enjoyable and relaxed dinner. I had fully intended to review the dinner, but so enjoyed the experience I totally forgot to take pictures before the course was consumed. I did manage to get a photo of two of the courses. One course which I did not photograph was a garlic risotto. Granted that I'm not a risotto expert, but this one I was served at Rouge was without question the best I've ever had. I'm still drooling.... It was a hot day at 36, but we were seated in the tent beside the building. Most sides were open which gave a very nice view of their gardens as well as a very refreshing breeze. It was very expensive for two of us (pushing $400 with tax and tip), so I would not visit frequently, but imo it is worthwhile to visit occasionally for special occasions.

We had the chef's tasting menu and the wine pairings. The staff was really friendly, and always made sure our drinks were filled. The wine was fantastic, and well paired with the food. The food, was decent but I wasn't really wowed by any dish. I probably wouldn't recommend it, because the value wasn't there for me. The overall experience was really good! Thank you so much 😊

Wowwwww this was such an amazing meal! Went for the chefs menu for a special night out and it was awesome. My bf isn't big on the foodie stuff so he wasn't into the uniqueness quite as much as I was but one dish he just didn't want to eat - I told them he wasn't fond of smoked salmon, and he was so embarrassed - i tried to ensure him that it's ok to say you don't like something (nobody likes to complain, but when you're paying this much you want to enjoy it!), and so they whipped up something else within 10 minutes and after that he perked up completely for the rest of the meal. They had such great attitudes and didn't make us feel awkward for turning away a dish, I even requested 2 different desserts and they made it happen. I was thrilled! I have to say - 6 courses doesn't include the palette cleansers. I was absolutely stuffed and I regret not wearing stretchy pants or loose fitting dress. My waistline changed from my rib cage to my hips. The server was so awesome all the servers and hostess were friendly and helpful, my server even took care of a spider that found its way onto the table without even flinching. I guess black widows haven't had fatal bites on record since the 80's, what do ya know. The place is stunning the food is divine. I will definitely return. They also allow single diners to order the chef menu which isn't always the case. Totally recommend it if you love fine dining!

Treated ourselves for a special occasion and Rouge did not disappoint with warm, friendly, knowledgeable service. We chose the tasting menu which was superb, standouts were the salmon and beef tenderloin. Wine list was interesting with good value wines by the glass and a great selection by the bottle. Would highly recommend for a special treat, not cheap but still good value for what you get to enjoy.

I really enjoyed this experience! Great service, amazing food, totally haunted if you are into that. Love it. I tried the tatare and enjoyed the courser chop compared to usual tatare dishes I've tried. The sirloin was a tender texture for the rare cook I requeste, many places would not have that characteristic for that type of cook and I appreciated that. The rabbit was also delicious. Brussel sprouts were not it, maybe I usually eat them sweetened or something but they felt plain to me. Everything else was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. I loved the potatoes especially, the flavors were fantastic. Also tried side of the cornbread and that was really nice. The beets were interesting. The chocolate cheesecake was fun and yummy too. This was a special experience and also there is definitely a ghost upstairs. The artwork throughout is beautiful. The giant light bulb was super cute, love that. The service was phenomenal and the food was worth the price absolutely. Definitely a more upscale dining experience in a unique setting. We had a great time.

Our server, Miriam, was lovely and patient as we ask about the dishes. Surprisingly, we adored the pork tenderloin more than the beef. The way they made potatoes were so interesting. It was a delightful experience. It’s a pricey restaurant, and I’m rating it 4 since I wasn’t “wowed” by the beef nor the vegan lasagna. However, looking forward to come back here to try their tasting menu.

This review is LONG OVERDUE (hey it rhymed!). My wife and I had a fantastic evening out back in March for the YYC Expo and we chose to go with the full menu. As soon as we stepped into the space, we felt the weight lift off of our shoulders and we knew we were in for a great evening. The hostess was awesome (sorry I forgot your name). We could not have asked for more going out for a celebratory dinner (life achievement). This has been our best finer dining experience here in Calgary as they exceeded our expectations. Our server, Miriam, went above and beyond. She was warm, welcoming, informative and hilarious. Kudos to Chef Dean and the rest of the team. The food was fantastic (I didn't want to destroy it, the presentation was on point). It was such a unique experience dining here. We are looking forward to celebrating at Rouge for the years to come. Thank you so much for making our special night that much more special!

LOVED THEIR PIZZA! I suddenly had a craving for Italian pizza, and luckily, this place was just 2 minutes away from us. And oh my god... my high hopes (based on all the great reviews) were absolutely met! The pizza was delicious! You really can't compare it to the big chains (I know they’re not Italian) — this was on a whole different level. We devoured everything in minutes. We tried the Margherita, Signora Gaga, and Mamma. honestly, all of them were so good, I can’t even pick a favorite. Definitely coming back, and I’ll be recommending it to everyone! Oh and the lady at the counter was super nice and even gave us free cookies! I was too full to finish them, but thank you! She really was as lovely as everyone else has mentioned in the reviews. It’s actually been a while since I wrote a review this long, but this place really deserved it.

We finally made it to GAGA Pizzeria. Great pizza and really fun people. Their pizza is thinner crust with lots of unique flavours. We kept it simple with a pepperonis pizza. There are lots of great pizzas for the more grown up tastes. We also tried Balkan-Style Pie - Burek. Don’t let the photos fool you, their pizza is awesome. Sandwiches are also on the menu and really good. Prices are very reasonable.

Jimmy’s A&A is a beloved Mediterranean deli located in Calgary, Alberta. Originally a corner store in the 1990s, it has since become renowned for its authentic Mediterranean cuisine, particularly its beef donair and chicken shawarma. The no-frills deli offers staples like shawarma, donair, falafel, and salads. While there is no indoor seating, customers can enjoy their meals at outdoor picnic tables.
This may well be the best beef donair I've eaten! Incredible value for money; their medium is more of what I've experienced as a large in other places. It had the perfect sauce/filling to wrap ratio and I wasn't left with a soggy mess falling out the bottom like other places. I picked up some baklava and that too was delightful. Crispy, buttery phyllo, with well balanced sweetness from the syrup. I could taste the nutty filling, rather than the usual sugar bomb I'm used to. Along with delicious food, the customer service was impeccable. The staff are so friendly and kind and an absolute pleasure to deal with. I'm so pleased I stumbled upon this place and would highly recommend you stop here too.

Simple ordering process. Order once you enter and they will write your order on the bag. After ordering you can browse and see what other grocery items or drinks you may want to pick up. Order is made fresh so meat is juicy and and not dried out. Once they are finished with your order you can pay and be on your way. A handful of patio tables outside or you can take your order to nearby park.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been here. Food is still outstanding and they’ve expanded what they offer since I’ve been here last at this location (granted, it’s apparently been almost two decades). So good. Definitely four thumbs up. 👍

Ok I came here because I was recommended by many people online to come. So I did but honestly I wasn’t really that stoked about it. The pita was cold when I was handed it, the chickens flavour was okay but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Perhaps that is all my own taste and expectations so I would keep that in mind while reading this. However there was no sanitation like I saw the girl make the shawarma but grab my shawarma with her bare hands and that in itself just made it a bit unappetizing. Proper food handling requires clean hands yes but also regular glove changes and never touching food without some ppe. Hairnets are also required too for hair open from the back. Also the washroom didn’t have any toilet paper or a spare roll in it 🥲 the service was okay they were nice but nothing that made it exceptional. The patio area was beautiful but a lot of the tables were dirty with dirt or previous people who ate there.

Ok friends. I am from Halifax and know donairs even though I have been in Toronto for 30 years. I go back to Halifax 2 times a year and always go back to Tonys Donair. Jimmy's Donair was excellent and my only feedback was to wet the pita and grill on a flat top so it warmer pita that matches the temperature of the meat. I added the classic tomato, onion and went retro early 80s and added parsley. The team was excellent and super kind. The Baklava was excellent, moist and buttery sweet. Looking forward to dropping next time I am in Calgary. FYI I tried the garlic sauce on the side with some chicken as a sample and that was the best garlic sauce aka Toom I ever tried. Well done team Jimmy,S

Deli
Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Inglewood, Spolumbo's Fine Foods & Deli is a delightful Italian deli that captures the essence of hearty comfort food. Adorned with an array of sports memorabilia, this family-owned gem specializes in mouthwatering sausages and sandwiches that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Their signature Italian submarine sandwiches are not only generous in size but also bursting with flavor, complemented by free pickles and a variety of fresh salads.
Always a Hit! Tried the Spolumbo Special and it did not disappoint. The sausage on a bun is a classic—always packed with flavour and perfectly grilled. I also love the half-sausage, half-meatball combo—it’s the best of both worlds. Every bite is hearty, saucy, and satisfying. Definitely one of my go-tos!

I fell in love with this place the moment I stepped inside. From the outside, it blends into the street, but once you walk in, it’s a whole different world, spacious, warm, and full of charm! The atmosphere instantly makes you want to slow down and enjoy your time. Ordering is simple, you place your order and pay at the cashier, then they bring the food right to your table. Even though it was an off-peak weekday, there was a steady flow of people coming in, which already told me this place has a loyal following. I've visited the deli several times and tried different sandwiches. The Cutlet Sandwich was my favourite! I love the tomato sauce and the big cutlet that covered the whole bun. The meat was tender and juicy! The bread of Reuben was perfectly toasted and crispy, the meat was tender and juicy, and the sauerkraut had just the right tang. The Dijon mustard was a little strong for my taste, but honestly, what’s a Reuben without it? Mama’s meatloaf is only available from Thursday to Sunday. The portion was huge! Thick meatloaf with a tender texture, and some vegetables added a nice balance to the sandwich. The mustard paired perfectly with the meat. I could only finish half of it! The meatballs were such a comfort food with decent amount of meat. The staff were genuinely friendly, greeting regular customers I saw many customers knew each other. It’s clear this is more than just a restaurant, it’s a place people return to again and again. This place is a treasure of Calgary.

Genuinely talk to your experience with incredible individuals, especially at a busy time like the lunch rush. I had the pleasure of being served by some truly incredible individuals who maintained excellent composure, professionalism and overall incredible customer service and support. Even with the line getting a bit long and with the place getting a little bit crowded, they still manage to put a smile on my face with their genuine positive demeanors and above and beyond delivery and presentation of the food that I required. Thank you so much to all of you who work at this location and your food is always truly appreciated. 11 out of 10 for all of you because a 10 out of 10 wouldn't be enough! Thank you again! Sincerely yours, Jeremy Hunter

Haven't been here for a while. Best time to come is after the lunch rush. Wanted the Mamma's meatloaf but missed it by a day. (Thurs - Sat). Ordered the Spolumbo special and the spicy sausage. Why mess with a tried and true favourite. Still the same and still the best!

I'd heard a lot about this place from friends but just yesterday decided to try it out and I was very very impressed with the meatball sub, it was delicious and huge as well and very cheap. The brownies are top tier as well, 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick delicious lunch

LOVE this place! Hands down, best sausage I've ever had. Used to stock up every time we came to Alberta from out of province but now we live in AB so we can get more 😁. Our faves are the Bangers, Italian Sausage, Turkey Cranberry and the Maple Breakfast Sausages. I appreciate the flavor options, limited ingredients, grind and price. Their deli options are amazing too. Highly recommend!!
Shelly L — Google review
I had the Prosciutto Ham sandwich and it was fresh, flavourful, and one of the best deli sandwiches in Calgary. Their menu has plenty of variety with soups, salads, and excellent sausages that I often buy by the case to freeze at home. The deli offers outdoor seating, a good selection of drinks such as Mexican Coca-Cola, coffee, and tea, and even a self-serve beer and wine bar where you load up a card and tap it to pour your own beverage. I have not tried it yet, but it looks like a fun option. If you decide to eat indoors, the building has some very interesting décor that is well worth checking out. Prices are fair for the quality and generous portions. The staff are always friendly and attentive, bringing food right to your table. After years of visiting, the quality and service have always been consistent. Parking can be a bit hectic even on good days. There are a few spaces behind the building and some street parking, but spots can be limited in the summer when patios take over nearby lanes. Thankfully, there is also a paid lot right next door, which is convenient if the other options are full. Definitely a staple of 9th Avenue. Whether you are out for a stroll in Inglewood or visiting from farther south like I often do, it is absolutely worth the trip.

OEB Breakfast Co. is a popular breakfast spot that has expanded from Calgary to Arizona, USA. The restaurant offers a creative breakfast menu with internationally inspired dishes like pierogies and scrambled crepes alongside Canadian classics such as breakfast poutines. One of the recommended dishes is the Father Johns Delight scram-blette, which features hardwood smoked bacon, rosemary ham, green onions, and field mushrooms. With four locations in Calgary alone, OEB Breakfast Co.
As usual, perfect dishes, superb service, and nice vibe! We reached on the busy time of lunch, but had breakfast. We were accommodated on high-chairs within 2 minutes. I think they can do better on coffee..no need for any design, if its to be a messy thingi and result of rush.

I ordered Shakshuka, coz the name of the food caught my attention. Sounds fancy. I was actually craving for salad and eggs and bread but I didn’t know that its like a soup. Its just basically tomato soup with chickpeas and other ingredients. It’s good but I find it too much salty, maybe try to lessen adding salt coz the cheese is already salty. I was supposed to give 5 stars but the bread is a little dry after toasted. They should offer some butter or any jams like other OEB branch they do.(Bridgeland). The poached eggs are cooked perfectly.Service is fast and the ambiance is clean and cozy. I suggest you update your menu like putting some pictures so we know how the food looks like.

Our friends asked us to meet them here because they wanted us to experience the food, "the food is delicious". They weren't wrong. The wait wasn't long and the food was delicious! And our server was great as well. If you haven't tried it. Give it a try. It just might be your new spot for breakfast 😉

Food was good. Service was better. We were all cranky with arriving to the hotel at 2am and couldn't really sleep so came here as soon as it opened. Kids were just driving us crazy. My wife was a little short tempered. But the server treated us very kindly. Wife had the chasing chicken, kids shared the scrambled kids menu and I had the farmer John's. Food was pretty good. But what you'd expect from a brunch place. Prices were less than what I thought it would be. Definitely worth a try.

Calcutta Cricket Club is a vibrant and stylish restaurant located on 17th Avenue SW in Calgary. The decor is inspired by the cosmopolitan vibes of Calcutta, with colorful hues, rattan furniture, and a lush jungle painting. The menu offers updated, small-plate versions of traditional Indian dishes, flavorful curries, and exotic fruity cocktails. The restaurant's secluded terrace and front patio make it a popular spot for al fresco dining or a romantic date night.
A really interesting take on Indian food. The restaurant is really well done, great decor. The butter chicken is really good. For me cod is touch and go, the cod here is excellent. The lamb is a bit to ‘alternate’ for me and not what you would expect for Indian lamb. The naan is fantastic. The papadam with jam is well done. All round a different take on Indian food and it works.

Calcutta Cricket Club is hands down one of the best restaurants in the city! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. He made our experience even more enjoyable, and the rest of the staff were just as wonderful, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that we felt well taken care of throughout. Great place for a nice dinner out. Everything is made to share. Got the aloo chaat, butter chicken, paneer, garlic naan and basmati rice. Then the mishti doi for dessert, celebrating my birthday and they put a candle in it. Server was very friendly. All the food was excellent and very flavorful. Would recommend!
Jill K — Google review
Firstly they should change the name of the restaurant from Calcutta to something else. The kathi roll was ok and the Misti doi was anything but Misti doi. When I asked the server about it he said, they have changed it to suit the local palate. But it was nothing close to Misti doi. If you can't provide the authentic experience then don't do it. If someone wants to try out Misti doi, they'll have a totally incorrect experience. The item was delicious but nothing close to Misti doi. Give it a different name. The kathi roll was, wasn't as delicious as a real kathi roll but at least it has some resemblance unlike Misti doi. If you are looking for an authentic Calcuttan or Indian experience then this isn't for you. The decor, location and service was excellent.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Even the toilets are great. The ambiance is good. Music was fine and so was the lighting at 6.30 pm tonight Great service by Hugo 👍👏. The manager was very kind when she came to speak to us ( sorry didn’t ask her name). The Puchka was underwhelming in taste. Looks like they’ve put some dry beans for decoration but PLEASE mention it to the guests that it is not edible! People tend to think that everything on the plate is edible which I think is a reasonable expectation. The aloo chat was not to our liking;needed some more seasoning ( salt). Perhaps you can offer it on the table to people who want a little more of it because it is essential for the Indian inspired dishes to give the tasty punch. When you call it a chat, we expect some red onion and Sev ( fine crunchy vermicelli of gram flour) on it and not big chunks of potato with sauces. I’d like some crunch to balance the large amounts of roast potato in the dish. The chicken Kathi roll was delicious 😋. The eggplant dish was very good even without the yoghurt( my daughter cannot have dairy). The Paneer dumplings were very tasty and the sauce was good too. I’d like it with a little more salt which would have elevated the taste further. The butter chicken sauce was absolutely brilliant; but the chicken cooking was abysmal!! Hard , dry and very unpleasant! Shame because the sauce was fantastic. The cabbage was an interesting dish. We liked the concept but felt it needed another couple of spoons of the sauce for the large size of the cabbage presented( I’m not expecting the cabbage to be floating in the gravy). May be worthwhile suggesting the guests that it goes with the rice than the naan bread( thankfully my wife didn’t order her favourite naan to go with it)The pilau rice was excellent! The garlic naan however was less exciting; felt more like a flat bread with butter on it. I applaud the chef’s attempt at creating some thing new👏. However don’t go there expecting to eat typical Indian food and blame the place for not serving it because it’s is not typical fare and I respect the chef for being creative 👏. However I’ll be critical if you call something chaat, phuchka ( which normally should give an explosion of flavour in your mouth with one bite of it) and not deliver. But clearly he’s got his craft perfect when it comes to the sauces( the French way!)

Clive Burger is a retro-style, counter-serve eatery with outdoor seating that offers eco-friendly burgers, beer, and shakes. One of the highlights is the option to customize your own burger with free toppings and affordable add-ons. The Clive Sauce is highly recommended for both burgers and fries. The menu features locally sourced items and ingredients, catering to various dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Additionally, they offer kids' meals with sliders and small fries.
Magnificent, The experience is incredibly simple, with a massive ordering board, as it should be at a burger shop. Bravo! I ordered a gluten free double with cheese, lettuce tomato onion and their Clive sauce. The burgers were made to be juicy yet crispy on the edges, just how I like it. They did right by the CARE gluten free bun, as it should be the only valid option in Alberta for buns as they don't crumble and are nice and supple. The fries are from a dedicated gluten free fryer and are CRISPY. I decided to review them based on the fact that they took care of my dietary needs perfectly, and their hours run late, Wich to catch a gluten free bite after 9 on 17th Ave is seemingly impossible, this place hit the spot. The staff were friendly and took care to both ask me if gluten free is a preference or health need.

Food was decent. Fellow working the counter today really doesn’t like his job. We were the only ones there at 11:15am. First time there. Two single burgers and shared a large fry (we got a small but only charged for that also). No drink. $30. And I did tip on top of that. Once we sat down there was a special: double burger w fry and drink for $15. That would have been better value. Would have been nice for him to mention that. Server asked if we wanted sauces for the fries. I assumed that was like a fancy aioli or something so said no. Once the food came asked for ketchup - apparently that is extra. Nice. No check on how the food tasted (sat right at the counter) nor a goodbye. Once pleasant gal said goodbye from the back.

The burgers were delicious. Only the lady at the cash register was not friendly. I think it was because of tiredness since we came 1 hour before closing time. The employees here are generally very polite and friendly people. I like coming here.

Place looks high quality but serves something akin to cafeteria food. Fries are well seasoned but they are frozen so the bar is quite low. If they're fresh... then the bar is sitting on the ground. See image for my complaint about onions. Incredibly the beef was overpowered by the flavour of the mayonnaise. Bun was above par. If I were Clive I wouldn't want my name associated with this food.

Outrageously bad chicken sandwich. I’ve never seen anything like it. Looks like tuna. Smells worse. I wish I’d taken a bite before i got back to my office. Ate it anyway as it was the only thing i had at that point. Worst $13 i ever spent.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Calgary's Chinatown, Thi Thi Vietnamese Submarine is a charming family-owned eatery that has become a beloved spot for locals seeking authentic Vietnamese subs. Unlike typical North American sandwiches, these delightful creations feature an array of savory meats such as salty beef and peppered chicken, all complemented by fresh vegetables like carrots, onions, and green peppers sautéed with aromatic Asian spices.
Grabbed two subs today. First time visiting Thi Thi under new ownership. The subs are definitely not as good as before. The bread doesn’t taste as fresh - perhaps they are not baked daily anymore. The meat portions are way smaller - they now weigh the meat for every sub. Overall the taste is still good but just not as good as when the original owners operated it. Still a good option when in Chinatown.

Reply to current owners: Pictures from 8-9 years ago do not look like the banh mi I posted, which is the one you made me recently. I was a regular customer as I worked downtown, and never have I received something so shabby from the original owners. You do not put "more" ingredients, based on my experience and many others'. Also, I never asked the original owners for a special order of pâté. Please don't make assumptions. ---------------- I had been going to Thi Thi's since 2005 - their saté chicken sub was unrivaled and owners were legends. I used to walk blocks in -30C to get one. I was disappointed that they sold the business but apparently trained the new owners on how to keep Thi Thi's top notch. I went for the first time since under new ownership, and unfortunately, I have no desire to return. Chicken, veggies, and sauces were sparse (except for the carrots) so overall, it was a bit bland. Couldn't taste any pâté. This is not the signature, always perfect Thi Thi's bánh mi that I know. I am not convinced of their explanation on other reviews that they put on more veggies and meat than the original owners. All my senses, as an almost 20 year customer, say otherwise. Many other have mentioned the reduction in meat and veggies, and I don't think their senses are deceiving them, either. Respectfully, perhaps consider a refresher from the original owners to resolve these issues.

Careful of the parking lot in front of it, it’s apparently private parking only for the dim sum shop next door. There’s a parking lot down the block and street parking. There’s food came out really fast, even if there’s a line it’ll go by really quick. Cash only and Togo. The bahnmi are really tasty though! The bread isn’t hard and is very soft. Got the sate beef, it seems to be the most popular one.
Lilac — Google review
New ownership has ruined this place. Previous owners used to be content with the profit they made off the sandwiches, it's clear that the staff has been asked to reduce the meat content per sub. Look at this sate beef sandwich, you'd think I was eating a carrot baguette sandwich. This isn't a cherry-picked photo, this is how little meat they put in their subs now. I won't go back if they don't restore their original quality and quantity.
Dev — Google review
My beloved boy. Look how they massacred you. 🥺 This WAS the best banh mi spot in Calgary. My whole family has been coming for over 30 years. Unfortunately there was a change to ownership and I would’ve loved to keep supporting this place but it seems it’s just a shell of its former self. I always get the Assorted which essentially is a Vietnamese cold cut with lightly pickled veggies. Now there’s just a couple, very thin slices of meat. Veggies are not as generous as before. The pate and butter/mayo spread is sparse so the whole sandwich eats really dry. There was a juiciness from before that is lacking. The bread used to be the freshest baguette - soft and fluffy with a crisp exterior. Now it’s just soft, pale, and frankly, a bit stale. No bite, no crispness. And since it’s all bread now, you can really taste the difference. Unfortunately it’s bye bye to Thi Thi.
Stephanie — Google review
I haven’t been to Thi Thi In quite sometime and there is a reason why. talk about shrinkflation. I ordered assorted and ate it about 8 minutes after ordering and notice there was barely any meat in it. The meat was cut so thinly and the bread was soggy. I did not enjoy it.
Annie P — Google review
Hi! This was my first time trying your SUB. To be honest, I felt a little bit disappointed because my friends had told me before that your sandwiches were always packed with lots of meat and veggies. But this time, the portion didn’t really go beyond my expectation. I guess it might be because of cost control, which I totally understand. In today’s economy, the value is still okay, but it didn’t quite exceed the impression I already had of Subway. Secondly, just my personal suggestion: maybe you could install a magnetic mosquito screen for the kitchen door—I saw some on Temu. That would help keep flies out. And in the front area, a mosquito-repellent lamp might also help. Lastly, the girl at the counter who took my order had such a sweet smile. But unfortunately, she said it was her last day working there. Honestly, one of the four stars this time is for her. I really hope you keep going and do even better!
Bojie L — Google review
My assorted sub from Thi Thi Vietnamese Sub tasted great, but it was basically a bread sandwich. I was pretty disappointed with how little meat was in it—it's a shame because I remember them being a lot more generous with the fillings in the past. Still delicious, but I hope they go back to their old ways!

I got a 12 oz Wild Lavender ($5.75) to walk around Kensington. The actual drink itself was really good, had a strong lavender flavour. But actually getting the drink was a bit of a mess. My friend, brother and I made 3 separate orders for 3 iced drinks. After about 20 minutes, we realized people that had ordered way after us got their drinks. Some how all 3 of our orders were lost and they had to be made on the spot. Friendly staff and good vibes though. I definitely like the options they have.

Perfect spot to grab a coffee! This place is always busy and filled with people which really creates a great atmosphere. Speciality coffee selection is fantastic, and plenty of milk alternatives to choose from. Baked goods that are offered look so delicious and fresh. My favorite is definitely the monster cookie. This place is absolutely a Kensington staple and a must visit if you have never been.

The London fog was good nothing exciting but yummy. I also had the rolo cafe which was good but pretty sweet and I couldn't finish even the 12oz I would say if you aren't a coffee drinker it's good but if you want to taste the coffee this might not be for you. The chocolate chip cookies are nice and chewy though they aren't crazy chocolatey for people who are looking for that.

Tacos Mexico Memorial is a beloved spot in Calgary, offering a low-key yet delightful taco experience. This casual and welcoming Mexican restaurant serves up 19 different varieties of tacos, including options like lengua, barbacoa, camaron, and nopales (cactus). In addition to their wide taco selection, they also offer other Mexican favorites such as fajitas, flats, enchiladas and more.
Authentic, deliciously, cravenly Mexican food in a fun, intimate and unassuming setting. Food: very tasty, authentic, homey, and fresh. I tried the lunch special trio, and it was a great decision. I enjoyed the variety of flavours, textures, and it all balanced one another out nicely. Beans and rice were seasoned nicely. I appreciated how generous they were with sauce. Service: prompt and friendly. I ordered a horchata that never came, but also didn’t get charged for, and my husband never got his own glass of water. It was during peak lunch hour, and we weren’t too fussed about it. But obviously, that aspect could have been better. Atmosphere: fun, causal, great authentic vibes. Outside of very unassuming, but it’s a pleasant surprise to see how much personality was inside. Value: good value for the price, quality and quantity, especially the lunch menu. Great Mexican food! It actually has the real Mexican flavour and environment. The service was really good too. Beware that the place is rather small and gets busy quite quickly. If you have to wait for a table, the wait will be worth it!

Tacos here were sooooo good. Price was amazing (~$3 per taco) and it was seasoned so well! No real complaints on the tacos at all. It’s hard to get a hold of the workers at times but it’s quite busy there so we weren’t they mad about it. They were overall very nice regardless. Highly recommend the lengua, fish, or asada tacos!

Really good and authentic Mexican food. We had the “combinación mexicana”, and the soy chorizo with queso for appetizers. As mains, we had the cuatro, tacos dorados, sopa de tortilla, fish fajitas, and birria tacos. Everything was tasty and the salsas that they put on the table had different levels of heat.

This is one of best Authentic Mexico food i had in Canada. The staff was very professional and helped us with selection and explained in detail all intricacies of Mexican food. Prices were also reasonable.Highly recommended.

If you’re craving tacos in Calgary, this is definitely a spot to check out! We went right when they opened on a weekend, and the restaurant filled up right away. Overall reasonably priced and tasty. While service was nice, it did take some time to get the attention of servers and our bill, but they were busy so it’s understandable. Chorizo dip was great, horchata was great but on the sweeter side, and loved the cucumber lime lemonade. Would pass on the shrimp tacos, the shrimp filling ratio isn’t as great.

Don't let the outer appearance fool you inside is absolutely charming. the wait staff is incredible and the food is authentically Mexican highly recommend!! I'm putting this on my frequent visitors list. they have tons of vegetarian and gluten-free options. just a really really cute place, support your local restaurants.

Located on trendy Stephen Avenue in Calgary, El Furniture Warehouse offers a fun and lively atmosphere for those looking to take a break from upscale nightlife. Originally starting as a dive bar in Vancouver, it has expanded to over 20 locations across Canada. The menu features budget-friendly options like burgers, tacos, and salads. The bright neon sign makes it easy to find this spot where you can enjoy good food and drinks without breaking the bank.
Other reviewers seem to think that no debit is a reason to give a low rating. SMH. Use credit, cash, or use the ATM. Don’t let pretentious people convince you to not try this place. My daughter and I stumbled upon this gem. Every staff member we met was courteous and kind. And all menu items are under 12! They have a large menu selection and great drink options. We had the quesadillas, fish tacos, and Caesar salad. The salad was beautifully presented and filled with powerful flavour; as good as a Caesar gets and only $11!!! The fish tacos were devoured by my daughter. She said they were incredible and paired with a tasty hot sauce. My chicken quesadilla was on par with any I have ever had; crispy cheese, well apportioned ingredients, lots of meat, and presented with a salsa to write home about. Did I mention that both mains were $11? AND they have a painting of Clint Eastwood in Paul Stanley makeup! Epic. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed. Well unless you are someone who insists to only pay with debit and likes to complain about it.

For four ppl, the price came to $99 and that included alcohol. Not bad at all considering where it's located. Good tasting food for a decent price. We all ordered the spicy rigatoni with different meat. It was delicious, the service was great.

Had a good experience overall! The food was surprisingly good, especially for the price, definitely affordable and tasty. The service was decent, nothing fancy but got the job done. The place itself is decent too, clean and comfortable enough. If you're looking for a budget-friendly spot with good food, this place is worth checking out.

El Furniture Warehouse was such a great spot for a casual lunch bite. We went there for lunch at 1pm on wednesday. The place was busy. It's a cute spot with indoor and an outdoor patio. We sat out on the patio and soaked in the lively energy of Stephen Avenue which added a fun vibe to the whole experience. My friend and I had the pasta and fish tacos. Both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and satisfying without feeling heavy. Our meals came really fast. The service was fantastic too. The prices were soooo affordable and the portions of the meals were really good so yes we will be back! Our server was friendly and quick to help, which made us feel relaxed and taken care of. It was the kind of meal that leaves you smiling and already thinking about coming back.

Elfurniture Warehouse is honestly my favorite spot on Stephen Ave! Whenever I can’t decide where to go, I just end up here – and it’s always the right choice. The vibe is so fun, the food never disappoints, and the service is always super friendly and quick. I also love that the prices are very reasonable and the menu has so many options to pick from. If you haven’t been yet, you should definitely check it out – you’ll love it @its.nour.life

Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu restaurant
Sukiyaki House is a modern and minimalist restaurant in Calgary that offers a contemporary chic setting for authentic Japanese cuisine. The menu features a variety of Japanese entrees, including hot pot and freshly prepared sushi. One of the highlights is their house-made gyoza, which are filled with lean chicken, chives, cabbage, aromatics, and seasonings. The kitchen team meticulously chops all the filling ingredients by hand to ensure just the right texture.
The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and we were seated almost right away. In the first photo, you’ll see a special starter of small fried crabs — definitely worth trying if you’re feeling adventurous, especially since they’re only available for a limited time. We also had the prawn tempura dynamite and the crunchy spicy tuna roll, both of which were delicious. I’d happily order everything again. I’ll definitely be returning!

Tonight is our first time here at this restaurant. The atmosphere was great. The food was full of flavor. The service was great very attentive to the customer. Overall I would recommend this place.

I would never visit this place again, service was terrible. They were in a terrible rush to give the table to someone else. Food was bad as well. Sushi s were the worst I've had in town. Desserts were okay but wasn't given time to eat what I paid for. Never try this place for sushi and 100 percent not worth it was the price through. I dont even understand why its priced so high for what they're providing. Ambience was good and so was the food presentation.
Monisha S — Google review
Not sure what some of the negatives reviews are about. Went here for dinner last night. Had a seat at the counter, venue was about half full. We had 3 appetizers and then sushi. The sushi was the star but the appetizers were pretty good as well, just came out a little different to what we anticipated. Had a mix of tuna, eel, Hamachi and rolls. All super fresh. Came out a little on the expensive side but we ordered some expensive pieces of fish so to be expected.

+ Food was very tasty! They definitely have one of the best sushi/nigiri in Calgary! + Service was top-notch. We were seated right away and taken care of in a timely manner + Ambiance is calm and welcoming. Dimly lit, clean, and plenty of tables ± I would highly recommend reserving as the restaurant was almost full when it opened for dinner ± Parking is available for free just behind the restaurant after 6 PM ± Price range of ~$25+ for food. With a few appetizers going below $15.

What kind of a magical place is this? Every single item we ordered was outstanding. And the cocktails? Please, somebody stop me from ordering a fourth drink! Simply fantastic! And this is coming from someone who isn’t a fan of sweet drinks. Every one of them was perfectly balanced and truly unique. Think miso-caramel (but not sweet at all) and passion fruit ting with matcha and pandan… I mean… You’d be lucky if you met Judith and Justin (siblings) and Charlotte, all fantastic waiters. And the amazing chefs whom we got to sit right in front of and whose craft we got to watch. Ok, enough said, just get down here and check this place out for yourself. You won’t regret it.

We went here to eat just a day before we arrived for Otafest. It was pretty late at night and they were the only japanese restaurant open so me and my party gave it a try. It was a wonderful dinner, the waiter that attended us was quite attentive and friendly, we even had a chat about anime media which was cool. The food and drinks was quite yummy and delicious and the portions given were good as well. 10/10 would revisit again.

I find the food was disappointing for the price. The shabushabu soup tasted bland and i end up adding small amount of soysauce to make the soup taste good, however I feel this is a thing with my personal preference. I am super impressed with the goma dipping sauce, goes super with the vegetables. The anago nigiri was good but nothing exceptional.

Vegan restaurant
Veg-In YYC, located in Downtown Calgary, is a popular spot known for its vegetarian and vegan dishes with an Indian twist. The cafe offers a variety of plant-based and gluten-friendly fusion Indian food made with fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Their menu includes non-dairy smoothies, herbal kombucha, house masala chai, and delectable vegan and gluten-friendly desserts like cupcakes, tarts, and cookies.
While exploring the city, I discovered this amazing vegan restaurant! I was greeted by the owner and she was so nice! She was patient and she explained (with details) the ingredients of certain dishes that I wanted. After ordering, the owner gave a sample of their homemade chickpeas and it was delicious :) you can definitely feel that the owner treats their customers as family :) The service was fantastic and it was quick to get my dish. I ordered the Heaven on Earth (smashed samosas) and woowwwwwwwww! There were so many spices going on and it was so filling! Don’t think small samosas but two baseball balls. For the price, it was so worth it :)

One of my absolute fave vegan spots in all of CALGARY. Everything thing on the menu is delicious and can be adjusted to your desired spice level. The food options are amazing and unique - an interesting combination of Indian fusion options. Almost everything on the menu is vegan, and can be made gluten free as well. And trust me, no-one will be missing the meat - so go ahead invite any/all of your friends. I’ve never been disappointed in anything ive ordered - from apps to burgers to wraps to flatbreads to soup!! The owners and the staff are genuinely helpful & warm people - offering samples of the soup & menu advice. The space isn’t really suited for dine in - as it’s small with sitting space at the order bar or at 2 tables. But don’t let that stop you - you can dine in, take-out, or buy frozen options!! Highly recommend for all!!

Veg-In YYC is an awesome little cafe with a fantastic menu offering super creative (and delicious) dishes that are packed with flavor. Everything tastes fresh and homemade in the best possible way. The staff are very nice and the owner is absolutely lovely... Really welcoming, knowledgeable and just a delight to chat with. The kind of people who are obviously genuine and passionate about what they do. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

I tried the Veg-In Special bowl, it was packed with flavour and delicious! My favorite was the Tandoori Cauliflower. My fiancée had the Brooklyn burger, which has beyond meat on it. He loves burgers and usually goes for meat, but he loved it! The chips add a nice texture. Lots of fresh veggies on both the bowl and the burger. The service is also very friendly, and the owner gave us some free chocolate which was super kind!! I'm definitely coming back for those vegan cupcakes and croissants!
Celeste L — Google review
Tasty food with decent gluten free options including some desserts to go. The owner is attentive and passionate about her craft and offers fantastic service. You are made to feel welcome and at home. They do offer a spice scale (which I love) and they are not messing around so if unsure, choose a level down. Doing so will ensure the spice does not overpower the intricate, complex and well paired flavors. Dine in seating is limited so plan for takeout if you can.

This unassuming eatery was a nice surprise after a long day of international travel. My partner and I were looking for a healing meal and found this welcoming restaurant with great service & fresh ingredients. Also owned by a family, mother/son. They were so nice. It's a mix of vegan and Indian with curries & chutneys served with the dishes. We ordered the Jack in Bollywood which had a hearty portion with kale slaw/salad on the side. The samosas were some of the best I've ever had and the presentation with sauces was beautiful. If you are looking for casual but fresh served with care, don't pass this up.

I was told to come here from a Vegan friend of mine. Was definitely worth coming in. I had the heaven on earth samosa. Packed with flavour and the right amount of spice. Staff is very friendly and says high to many of the customers by name. If you are looking for a place to eat that is authentic and good prices, this is the place to come. It is a good fusion of Indian and western cuisine. Also the place is full of neat information about the ingredients used.

I happened to stumble across this place when visiting from Edmonton and so happy I did. We were initially greeted by Sehra, she is so bubbly and friendly, It felt like meeting an old friend. The hospitality was top notch. Beside the welcoming atmosphere, the food was incredible. I had the enchilada and the flavour and portion size was awesome for the price. I'm sad I don't actually live in Calgary so I can eat here more often. Definitely deserves more than 5 stars. Thank you for the kind and warm welcome 😊

Pizza restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Seniore's Pizza Restaurant is a popular counter-serve pizzeria located in an unassuming strip mall in Calgary's Beddington neighborhood. Despite its snug space, it attracts a steady stream of customers, especially during late-night hours. The restaurant is known for its commitment to serving delicious pizza made with the best dough and cheese. Customers rave about the garlic pesto chicken pizza and the flavorful garlic fries. The restaurant has recently undergone renovations, leading to improved service and a welcoming atmosphere.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trendy Pizza Spot with Incredible Chicken Flavors! Seniores Pizza is a great pick if you’re craving bold, delicious flavors. Coming from the Middle East, I can say their taste is absolutely authentic and satisfying. Please note: only the chicken is halal — the beef is not. So if you follow a halal diet strictly, stick to the chicken and veg options. The chicken pizzas are my personal favorite — packed with flavor, juicy and perfectly cooked. Each slice is just $4 and trust me, it’s massive — way bigger than your regular slices. Great value for money and perfect for a quick bite or a late-night craving. The place is super trendy and always buzzing with energy. You’ll find lots of young people hanging out here, especially because it’s open till very late at night — making it a great spot for a post-work or late-night food run. Be prepared for a queue due to the high demand, but here’s a smart move: call ahead, place your order and just pick it up to avoid the wait. Highly recommended for the chicken lovers! Once you taste it, you’ll keep coming back.

My family and I had such a wonderful time at Seniore’s Pizza restaurant ! The food was absolutely delicious, the crust perfectly crispy, the toppings fresh, and the flavours just right. What made our visit even more special was the incredible service. A big thank you to Farid and the whole team for being so kind and attentive. They made us feel truly welcome and helped us enjoy every moment together. It’s rare to find a place that combines great food with such genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy place to share a great meal with family or friends! 🍕❤️
Amina — Google review
I don’t know how this place has such a high rating. I ordered the baked Ravioli and Pesto Penne and both were laden with oil/ cheese. Ravioli itself is supposed to have cheese inside, but they also put a 1/2 inch thick cheese layer on the top. The ravioli underneath was so overcooked that after removing the top layer of cheese, it was inedible. Pesto sauce was also excessive with crazy amount of oil. If you don’t want your arteries blocked with fat, please don’t order pasta from here.
Preeti P — Google review
We tried the Chicken Donair Pizza from Seniore’s and it was seriously delicious! The flavor was extremely good, well made, and the generous cheese topping made every bite even better. The only thing is, their large size isn’t as big as I expected , could’ve been a bit bigger for the price. That said, it still felt worth it. Prices may be on the higher side, but the taste and quality make up for it. Just a heads-up: if you’re walking in, expect long lines and wait times almost every day.
Malou G — Google review
It’s a good spot for a quick bite if you buy the slices. If you’re ordering a pizza, be ready to wait for 30mins. They messed up my pizza order a bit because it was too busy, but hey, they made up for it by offering us extra slices. I am happy with the taste, size of the pizza and slices was good, with fresh and quality ingredients. It does come with an extra garlic sauce. You get other seasonings in store.
Lois C — Google review
Donair pizza, who would've thought? Came here right after landing from the airport, wanting a late night bite. This is probably as good as it gets for a midnight snack. Huge line despite the time, and I got two slices: chicken donair + spicy bbq chicken for less than 10 bucks. Humongous slices with extremely thick dough. This ain't like New York style pizza so beware! Solid flavour, and each slice comes with a gigantic garlic sauce container which made the experience a million times better. Highly recommend if you land in Calgary and want to try out donair pizza!
David P — Google review
Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! Perfect if you like thick Chicago style slices with loads of toppings and great flavor. The beef donair was the highlight for me. The slices are big and hearty so 1 will be enough for the average person. I may or may not have had two.
Chris — Google review
Easy 5 stars. Great pizza and killer garlic sauce, don't be afraid to get it "by the slice" either. The slices are humongous. Service is very fast and everything is fresh because it's so busy. Can be hard to find parking, so be aware!

Delivery Restaurant
Nestled in Calgary, Noodle King Vietnamese Restaurant is a charming and relaxed eatery that invites you to indulge in the rich flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. With an extensive menu featuring everything from aromatic bowls of pho to hearty stir-fried noodle dishes, this restaurant caters to every palate. Whether you're dining in or opting for delivery, you'll find comfort in their soul-satisfying offerings. Guests rave about the tender beef stew with egg noodles, highlighting its deep broth and melt-in-your-mouth meat.
This place is often regarded as the best Vietnamese noodle restaurant in Calgary by many in the Chinese community. I decided to give it a try today. Their most famous dish is the Satay Vietnamese Beef Noodles, but since I wasn’t in the mood for something spicy, I opted for the soup noodles instead. The flavor was excellent, though whether it’s truly the best is subjective. Regardless, if you enjoy Vietnamese noodles, it’s worth a visit. I also ordered the pan-fried dumplings. They were decent, but unless you’re a big fan of dumplings, you’re not missing out if you skip them. Next time, I’ll definitely try their signature satay noodles.
KS L — Google review
Noodle King Vietnamese Restaurant is one of the best of authentic cuisine. The dinning service at the Noodle King Vietnamese Restaurant is generally quick and friendly, making it an easy choice for all solo/family dinings, casual meals, quick lunches and group gatherings. This unique place had only one-size meals. Unlike other Vietnamese Restaurants, they had three sizes. Small, normal, and large. Affordable prices and varies of meals. This place had the most respectable trained staff. They were friendly, attentive and efficient. Quick service was crucial for maintaining pleasant dining experience. I was shocked that one of the staff was handle professionally . She was multi-tasking with a group of 10 customers + at the checkout of payments with ease, in addition; she was on the phone taking orders at the same time. She earned my respects and values. #38 - Noodle King special vermicelli is one of the signature meal. The combination of flavors of the dish was truly delightful. The savory beef and pork paired well with the crunchy spring rolls, while the fresh vegetables added a cooling contrast. The secret sauce added everything together, balanced sweet, sour and the after-taste burp. Only negative was there was no official website. They had Skip, however, this restaurant is not registered. Unbelievable experiences and highly recommend for the locals and tourists.
Michael C — Google review
I visited Noodle King and tried the satay chicken noodle and steamed shrimp wrapper. The experience was pleasant overall, though not particularly outstanding. The chicken slices were modest in portion, and the wrapper skin was thicker than expected, especially when compared to the more delicate versions I’ve had in Vietnam. That said, the flavors were decent, and while the dishes didn’t wow me, they were good enough for a casual meal. I’d consider returning to try other items on the menu.
Janice C — Google review
I’ve never had such delicious noodles and spring rolls in Calgary. The rolls were crispy and not oily like in other restaurants. Also, it was the first time I didn’t feel a stomachache after having satay noodles — the taste was the best.
Chi T — Google review
Sadly we were quite disappointed with the flavours of the pho and bun bo hue. Visiting from Edmonton and this was close to the hotel. Had good reviews so we gave it a try. It was steady with locals so perhaps it’s the flavour profile that’s more local. Definitely not for us.
Sandy K — Google review
4.7 ⭐️ Top choice for Pho Sate. Ground up peanuts in a creamy sate coconut sauce unlike most other restaurants where the chilli oil is not homogenous with the soup base and floats on the top surface of the soup itself. This spot is well known for their Sate. Best In Alberta.
Samuel — Google review
Ate here while in Calgary because it was recommended by a YouTuber. The satay beef noodle soup is amazing! Make sure to order the special beef noodle soup and then upgrade to satay by adding $3. You'll get a lot more meat (beef balls, tripe, and brisket) compared to the plain satay beef noodle. Excellent service also (looks like it's family owned). This will be a go-to place every time I'm in Calgary.

Nice restaurant with comfortable booths and service was great. We tried the grilled beef skewers which were the best we've had so we ordered another one! Highly recommend the skewers. For the mains we had grilled pork with vermicelli and spring rolls. Both were good but not better than most other good Vietnamese restaurants. We would go back for sure.

Alumni Sandwich & Liquor Bar is a vintage-style casual diner that offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, and cocktails. While the spot is best known for its delicious sandwiches, the salads are equally impressive. The Caesar salad features a unique homemade yogurt dressing, while the house salad is a flavorful beet salad with yams, apples, balsamic, and goat cheese on a bed of arugula.
What a fantastic place! Delicious food and kind service. What more can you ask for ? My partner and I came here to have dinner and everything was so fresh and yummy (as a bread lover, probably one of the best breads I had with my Parmesan chicken sandwich). If you’re in the area, definitely hop by. I know I am if I am ever back in Alberta ! I highly recommend the rosemary beef dip and the parm fries.

We had the best late afternoon lunch experience at Alumni. We brought our 8m old and were pleasantly welcomed by the staff who were eager to get us settled with a high chair. The combination of excellent service, great attentive staff, amazing food, and great ambiance make this the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, etc! We tried the devil eggs which were very good! Their Caesar salad was declined too which I’m usually picky about since I often make it from scratch myself. They got a good thing going on here and I’d recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a good experience in Calgary :)

I went on a Friday night and was so pleasantly surprised by Alumni! The hostess was so polite to us when we arrived and she gave us an accurate wait time to be seated. I enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe while we waited. It has a cool modern diner look and feel! My favourite sandwich was the tuna melt. I loved the herbs added to the tuna and the pickled veggies on top. All the flavours came together so well. And the portion of this sandwich is massive! Definitely should have shared, but glad I didn't 😏

Great joint to grab a bite, the food came out quickly and was delicious. We enjoyed a basket of Parm fries, charred broccoli and I had the Tuna melt. Will definitely be coming back to try out their other dishes, everything looked great on their menu.

If you have too much disposable income and like mediocre sandwiches this is your place. Disappointing food over two separate visits. First time I came I ordered the Bronx. The sandwich was so wet the bottom half started disintegrating. Bread was over toasted so somehow the bread was both too wet and dry simultaneously. Second visit, the $19 club is comprised entirely of cold ingredients and if you don't maintain a vise grip on it the sandwich will commit seppuku and spill its cold dry guts because the fillings are all shredded and the sandwich has no structure. Incredibly the cucumbers beat out the bacon in terms of flavour. How is it possible to have cold bacon with no flavour? The fries are absolutely criminal. Somehow they overcooked frozen fries. The service was lovely and the interior has nice decour. Shame about the food though. I would advise paying with credit card because if they had more money I doubt it would improve their sandwiches.
Wong J — Google review
The menu clearly indicates which items are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free, which makes ordering more straightforward. I ordered the Bronx Bomber and shared it with a gluten-eating friend. Based on the texture and taste, I believe they use Care Bakery buns, which I personally enjoy. The bottom bun did start to fall apart slightly, likely due to the amount of mayo and the liquid from the pickled peppers. Next time, I’d request light mayo, as I found it a bit overpowering, but overall, we both enjoyed the sandwich. When I asked about the fryer, the server mentioned that only the potato chips are gluten-free and safe for those with Celiac, not the fries. That said, I would recommend confirming this with staff, as the menu doesn’t mark the chips as gluten-free, and some reviews in FindMeGF app mention that a dedicated fryer may not be available. It’s possible the GF chips are pre-packaged. When I informed them of my Celiac disease, the staff was knowledgeable and took care to prevent cross-contact. My order was also brought out with a verbal confirmation that it was gluten-free, which is always reassuring. Wonderful sandwich place with friendly staff, will definitely be back when I visit Calgary!

We came here on a Saturday around 12:30pm, there was no line and lots of tables available. The Bronx Bomber was very good, with the flavors of the roasted beef and hot genoa salami mixing well. The reuben was good too, the corned beef was a little too salty, though the flavor was delicious. We also had a side of beet salad and Mac salad. The beet salad was really good. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would love to return and try the other sandwiches.

First time at this restaurant today. We started off with a little amuse-bouche, a mini waffle served with maple syrup and a berry jam I really liked. It wasn’t too sweet, which I appreciated. The waffle itself was soft and really tasty. For our actual breakfast, we both went for the eggs Benedict. Honestly, they were really well done, exactly what you’d expect from a good Benny. Since waffles seem to be one of their specialties, the eggs Benedict were served on waffles instead of the usual English muffin, which was a nice twist. Really good coffee as well. As for the duck fat potatoes, while they’re probably healthier, they tasted pretty much like regular hash browns you’d find anywhere. So maybe that’s one area they could level up a bit. One thing that was definitely missing from both our plates was fruit. You had to order fruit as an extra, but I think adding even just a few pieces of fruit or a bit more greenery to the plate would really elevate the dish. That said, the staff was super friendly and the space is lovely, bright and welcoming. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience. The breakfast didn’t feel as generic as it does in a lot of places around town, and the menu had a lot of interesting options. Definitely a spot I’d go back to for breakfast.

House cured bacon breakfast poutine 1/2 hash and 1/2 arugula with burnt bacon. They replaced the bacon on the side, but I don’t have a good picture. Taste was good as usual.

Been here a few times for breakfast- both large and small groups- and each time the food and service was excellent. Friendly servers, tasty and unique food options, and even with a waitlist, I've never waited more than 20min to be seated. Only downside is that the place is so popular it can feel a bit crowded. Sitting in the small 2 person booths by the kitchen was a bit cramped and loud but I still enjoyed the experience. Have tried a couple of the Benny's and BELT- all great.
Andrea H — Google review
Food and service were OK. Expensive for the portion size. Bacon was very small and burned. Atmosphere was not to our taste. Your mileage may vary. Very busy. Very noisy. The table we were seated was the smallest one in the restaurant and right by the exposed kitchen. Just added to the busy feeling and noise. Overall, better can be had elsewhere and you will spend less. We tried it - don't think we will be back.

After hearing rave reviews about Brokin Yolk, I finally had the chance to experience it firsthand! I'm glad I reserved a spot on a bustling Monday, the place was buzzing with activity. The ambiance was vibrant, and the service was exceptional; the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.I got their Iced Latte with a Caramel shot, and it was pure bliss—I found myself finishing it before my food even arrived. Each sip was a delight, with the coffee's smoothness leaving me craving more. Although I missed out on their intriguing spring drink menu, the iced coffee more than made up for it, boasting top-notch quality. For my meal, I chose the Ms. Veggie Baked Egg Frittata, which offered a symphony of flavors and textures. However, the abundance of goat cheese somewhat dominated the dish for my taste. Additionally, I sampled the Bacon Benny, but the sweetness of the house-cured bacon didn't quite align with my preferences—although, that's entirely on me for selecting it. Despite the busy atmosphere the food arrived promptly, which speaks for their efficient service even during peak hours!

Restaurant
Tokyo Street Market is a lively and vibrant spot in Calgary that offers a taste of Japanese street food culture. The quick-serve venue serves up a diverse menu featuring Japanese staples like ramen, yakitori skewers, sushi, sashimi, rice bowls, gyoza, takoyaki, and more. With its newest location along Macleod Trail, the restaurant also provides grab-and-go Japanese drinks and snacks.
Big vibes. Very impressed. The decor makes all the difference (the chairs are very annoying tho. So noisy) The prices are amazing considering what you're getting. And the quality of food is very good. The lady who serviced me at the counter was nice. You have to go and get your food when it's ready. Love it here.

Awesome food and great deals to feed a family! We ordered delivery from this restaurant and everything was very good. My kids had the miso ramen deal and I tried the black deluxe and my husband had the red deluxe. We all shared kaarage don and many flavors of the gelato/ice cream. I liked the yuzu the best! I was not a fan of the type of juice like bubble tea they serve but my family all loved it at least. The kids especially. We really loved our take out experience with Tokyo Street Market. :)

I ordered from uber eats and I got 2 orders of takoyaki and they come 4 each but the second order I only got 3 pieces. This never happened to me before both uber eats and dine in. But anyways the broth is really good, i would order again! The takoyaki is also good. I ordered this when they have the buy 1 get 1 free so thats why its a lot but it’s worth it for me.

The kimchi sashimi rice bowl was fresh and vibrant—clean heat from the kimchi, silky fish, and perfectly seasoned rice. The miso ramen had deep umami and springy noodles. The service from Angela and Nicki made the meal exceptional. They work in perfect sync—friendly greeting, thoughtful check-ins, and smart menu tips. Even during a busy rush, they coordinated seamlessly, kept the vibe upbeat, and anticipated what we needed without being intrusive. Update* 2024 Came to this restaurant today for lunch. They never dissapoint. The staff were friendly, helpful and the establishment is clean and inviting. Our meal for 2 cost about $10 each for reasonable considering it would cost more for fast food you would feel terrible after eating. I would recommend this lace to anyone. They have all kinds of menu options and vegetarian ones too. Eat here you wont regret it!! When we walked in we were greated right away. The staff were friendly and helped us decide what we would like. When we recieved are food we were shocked with how much food we recieved. Also gave us a fresh sample of there father or meat pie. They were so good we bought a container full. Needless to say if you are hungry come here. Food is great prices are fair and you will leave full and very satisfied

I’ve gone here 3 days in a row already. Initially I came here for the cookies they sell which is a different business (Sarah’s cookie jar) I also ended up getting food from them and it’s amazing. Reminds me exactly of our food back in Iraq and the Mediterranean. The man who has served us these past few days has the most welcoming face and he is so friendly. Me and my sister have made this a new go to spot and we will be coming back here for many days to come, especially for the cookies.

Chicken restaurant

Chicken wings restaurant
Nando's PERi-PERi is a vibrant Afro-Portuguese restaurant chain that has carved out a niche for itself with its signature flame-grilled chicken, marinated in their famous spicy chili sauce. Diners can customize their experience by selecting from various spice levels and complementing their meal with an array of delicious sides, such as the popular corn on the cob and crispy Peri-Peri fries.
The new renovation really opens up the space, and I love the updated design concept! Sophia was incredibly welcoming and helpful—she made the whole experience even more enjoyable by assisting me in choosing my sides and sauces. I went with the double leg, and my mom had the peri peri bowl. Everything was super flavorful and fresh. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is amazing! The best mac and cheese and chicken! The servers were all nice and accommodating. Great customer service from Lydia and Ellie 😊 thank you for replacing the corn that fell in the floor. 😅 will def come back!!
Reginna C — Google review
I've been here twice now and the chicken, fries, and mashed potatoes hit the spot each time. The sauce in-restaurant is more creamier and much better than the Nando's bottled sauces at the grocery stores. The chicken is perfectly cooked and remains super juicy, especially with the extra sauce it's served with, and with the additional sauce you can grab yourself at the self-serve sauce counter.

Great nice staff. Nice fine place but The food just alright. Well, it's great but nothing really special or popped out. the extra hot is not spicy as I thought would be. And I wish the AC was not that cold, my food woulsld stay warm longer lol

A Flavorful Feast with Warm Ambiance If you're craving flame-grilled chicken with a bold kick, Nando’s Peri-Peri Chicken delivers on every level. From the moment you step in, the restaurant’s vibrant and eclectic decor sets a welcoming tone. The interiors, with their warm lighting and handcrafted woven light fixtures, give the space a unique, modern-African flair—distinct yet comfortable. The Food: We tried the classic grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and the medium-spiced chicken burger with charred corn on the cob. Both dishes were full of flavor—perfectly grilled, juicy, and seasoned with Nando’s signature peri-peri spices. The mashed potatoes were creamy and homestyle, while the corn added a sweet, smoky touch. Everything felt fresh and well-prepared. The Drinks: Paired with iced soft drinks, the meal was both refreshing and satisfying. The attention to detail, even down to the striped paper straws, didn’t go unnoticed. The Service & Experience: Staff were friendly, the service was prompt, and the restaurant was clean and organized. There’s a casual, friendly vibe that makes it great for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners. Final Thoughts: Whether you're a fan of heat or prefer something milder, Nando’s allows you to customize your spice level without sacrificing flavor. It’s a go-to spot for comfort food with a punch, and the aesthetic interiors make it all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for hearty meals with a touch of personality.

Absolutely love the food here and service. I personally prefer the chicken crispy and I mentioned that to the waiter who was able to ask for the chicken to be made well done. The Mac and cheese and sides were delectable. Must try place.

This Nando's is very bright with a nice exotic scene like many other Nando's across the nation. The food is standard for a Nando's chain, service is also on par with the franchise. The chicken sandwich and mango lime sauce are the best. The Golden cauliflower side is very tasty as well.

Hankki is a Korean restaurant with a basic window-serve setup and a patio. The menu features Korean classics and sausages on sticks, as well as tasty snacks like seasoned fries, chicken wings, and bulgogi dumplings. The main attractions are the spicy hot dogs and cupbop, which are steamed rice bowls with meat and vegetables in a flavorful sauce. The food is known for being fresh, fast, and reasonably priced.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. It can get a little busy sometimes, but the food is always great quality and the staff are always so friendly and full of energy. My favorite menu item is the corn dog. If you’re looking for a quick but satisfying meal on 17th Avenue, I highly recommend this place!

I tried Hankki on 17th Ave and honestly loved it! The food was flavorful and fun — the Korean corn dogs were perfectly crispy with that satisfying cheese pull, and the rice bowl had just the right mix of meat, veggies, and sauce. The portions were filling for the price, and service was quick and super friendly. The vibe is casual, more of a grab-and-go or quick eat spot, but that’s part of the charm — it feels like authentic Korean street food. Great place to go with friends or family if you want something different and tasty. Definitely coming back to try more combos next time! 💛

Bake Chef Co. in Calgary is a top choice for delicious subs and delectable desserts. The flavorful and juicy meat makes it a go-to spot, with friendly staff who remember their customers' preferences. It's a favorite among university students, known for its Vietnamese subs and tasty buns. Even after graduation, many patrons long to revisit this spot downtown. The Viet deli meat with cheese is highly recommended, offering a satisfying quick bite before any event at an affordable price.
The best! The lines are long usually, and for good reason! The food is always prepared well, with an efficient ordering system. The service is super friendly, and honestly sometimes just refreshing after coming up for air from studying for hours. Whether you go at 9 am or 7pm, there will be other people in the queue, but the service never goes down. I don’t know how they don’t get exhausted! The prices are also very reasonable, and the food is a healthier option than most of the other offerings on campus. Would highly highly recommend :)

Best best best SUB IN CALGARY! The meat is so flavorful and juicy. This is always a go-to spot for yummy subs, desserts, and buns. The people behind the counter are always so kind and the guy even remembers who ordered each dish. Will 100% be coming back here for subs even after I finish university!
Rachel — Google review
I used to frequent this place regularly during my time as a student at the University of Calgary between 2017 and 2021. At the time, it was without question one of my absolute favourite spots to grab a quick and satisfying bite. The subs were consistently excellent, with generous portions, fresh ingredients, and just the right balance of flavours. It became something of a staple during my university years, and I often recommended it to friends and visiting family. Naturally, when I found myself back in the area recently, I was eager to return and relive a bit of that nostalgic experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling rather disappointed. The quality seems to have declined noticeably since my last visit. Most strikingly, the amount of meat in the sub was far less than I remembered. It felt sparse, which made the whole thing rather underwhelming. It lacked the hearty and satisfying quality that used to set it apart. It is always disheartening to return to a once-beloved place only to find that standards have slipped. I do hope this was a one-off experience and not a reflection of an ongoing trend, as I have many fond memories associated with this spot. That said, based on my recent visit, I am not sure I would be quite as quick to recommend it as I once was.
Ana — Google review
It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a Bahn Mi place where I have truly felt this amazing balance of pricing and quality. The ordering system is refreshingly efficient (you get a checklist of what you want, way faster than the “subway” style where you slowly tell them what you want at the front as they add to it) and the ingredients are super good quality. Their beef satay and chicken sausage especially excellent. You can get a 9 inch sub on a fresh baguette (been here at least a dozen times and there has never been a stale baguette) with fresh crisp vegetables and good quality meat for $9.50 and the helpings are so generous that it will fill you up better than any footlong from Subway. 10/10. A great little secret tucked away in the student union building. I’d recommend people coming to the campus just to try it.
Alex R — Google review
I like this place a lot. It is a really good option for a variety of dietary restrictions and also it's enough food such that I feel actually full and it's also pretty healthy. The sandwich itself is cheaper than subway. It actually takes a bit of discipline to stick to my once-a-week rule I set for myself for outside food because of this place in particular. The system for ordering is nice since very few words are necessary and it's handled by papers. It's extremely efficient. I used to just deal with the fact that I was hungry if I didn't want to go home until late or too lazy to pack lunch or both until I was introduced to Bake Chef. Most people I know really love this place and I know people that go to uni specifically for the purpose of getting food here occasionally.
Fallen_krill — Google review
This place slaps is the best part of my day when I go here, subs always on point just incredible. Sub didn’t stand a chance

The atmosphere suits the food - Huge line up daily I am told by my daughter who had to show me this amazing place after picking her diploma up . This place runs like a well oiled machine serving so many in such an efficient manner. Even if there are a ton of people in front of you , you will be served quickly. Extremely organized operation. Now for the food - The chicken and tuna buns - They are outstanding . So fresh and delicious with the perfect amount of meat and onion with spices and broth with the topping of just the right amount of cheese . Only word for this is YUM with a capital Y ! My daughter tells me the subs and coffee cake muffins are every bit as phenomenal. She insisted that had to go there after picking up her diploma and I think she was far more excited to have their food for the last time ( she is moving home soon) than she was about getting diploma. Last time Blckht will be eating there . Also the price is unbelievable- $3 for the best tasting bun in town ( or city , province or maybe the country)

The establishment has garnered praise for its delightful ice cream offerings, making it a must-visit for any discerning ice cream connoisseur. Whether you find yourself nearby or make a special trip, Village Ice Cream promises to be an enjoyable experience.
Delicious ice cream, as a visitor from Toronto! I ordered the guides mint and my girlfriend ordered the earl grey + honeyberry. Single scoops are about $7, while doubles are $9. I must say, this is probably one of the best mint ice creams I've ever had. I loved the crunchy cookie texture that was in the ice cream, and the overall flavor was fantastic. My girlfriend's unique flavors tasted amazing as well! Definitely a must-visit place if you're craving some ice cream in Calgary.

We are visiting from BC and this place is by far one of the most delicious ice creams we've had. Not only is everything amazing, the staff are the most friendly and welcoming folks here! El and Rachel were super warm and patient and explained all the flavours to my group of friends and I. Honestly, Village Ice Cream might even be better than Earnest/Rain or Shine in Vancouver.😏 The food is amazing, but the staff are even more amazing!! Will absolutely come back here the next time we visit.

In love with Village Ice Cream; their product is second to none. I love that they have vegan and gluten-free options, and beautiful rotating options for pets! I remember going in once in the winter to find the scooparista (do they have a title?) colouring in a colouring book! I thought it was so sweet! They said the manager doesn’t want them on their phones so they supplied the staff with some crafty options to fill their downtime. 💗

This little ice cream shop is always rocking it out! Always a line, people are so relaxed, the servers are patient with you and offer samples to try to help you choose. And they even have a glutenwise choice of cone. I love the earl grey flavour, it's a personal flavour fave!! Keep it up. My husband had the hot fudge sundae.

Village Ice Cream on 10th Ave is a must-visit for anyone who loves ice cream. Every scoop here is rich, creamy, and packed with flavor—you can tell they put a lot of care into their recipes. The toasted coconut ice cream is outstanding. It’s smooth, lightly sweet, and has that perfect nutty coconut flavor that isn’t overpowering. If you’re a coconut fan, this one is addictive. The chocolate ice cream is another favorite—deep, velvety, and not overly sweet. It tastes like real chocolate, with a richness that makes it feel indulgent but still refreshing in ice cream form. Their Ice Capp flavor is a game-changer. It tastes like a creamy frozen cappuccino, with just the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Perfect for anyone who loves their iced coffee but wants it in dessert form. On top of the amazing ice cream, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the shop has a fun, laid-back vibe. Whether you’re grabbing a cone, a cup, or taking home a pint, you really can’t go wrong. Village Ice Cream is truly one of Calgary’s gems!

My wife and I came for our anniversary and LOVED IT. Wait staff were very helpful, extremely friendly and funny. Helped us make some choices with spice levels and dishes that worked well together. (We like spicy food and went with the spicy option, which was just right for us. A little heat with a lot of flavour.) Food was awesome and lived up to the hype we had been given. The only downside to the evening was the drive to get there and getting home, as we live in the NE...but that's on me, not on them. It was worth the time in traffic to get there. We will definitely be back!

The staff was very welcoming and polite. The service was impeccable and fast. We ordered the fish from the appetizer and dal bhat (thali) from the mains and New Zealand lamb grill. The fish was too good. Fresh and tasty and came with 2 sauces. We loved the thali as well. It was enough for both of us. The curries were flavorful. The bread was fresh and crispy. The lamb grill, though hot and delicious, was a bit chewy for my liking. My husband, a meat lover, knows his meat too well. He found it a tad tough, too. We did mention this to the server after we finished our meal as we didn't want to complain right away. He was very polite and took our complaint to the chef. It was very nice of them to give us a discount on the lamb dish. A very ethical thing to do when running a high end restaurant and I appreciate this gesture. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back to try some more dishes.

Restaurant
CRAFT Beer Market Calgary Downtown, which has expanded to multiple locations across Canada since its inception in 2011, offers a diverse menu and an extensive selection of over 100 local and international craft beers on tap. The restaurant is known for its Ahi Poke Bowl and Crispy Chicken Sandwich, but what truly distinguishes it is the lively atmosphere and dedication to promoting craft beer culture.
Craft is a great spot with really tasty cocktails! The food can be a bit spicy, but it’s full of flavor. It’s the perfect place for a Friday night out — fun atmosphere, good music, and great service. We keep coming back and it never disappoints

Hands down one of my favorite breweries! The beer is always on point, and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Ashley and Bri were absolutely fantastic - knowledgeable about the beers, friendly, and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed and even recommended some great pairings. Can't wait to come back and try more of their beers.

My friends and I enjoyed a relaxed brunch here. The dish that stole the show was the chorizo hush it's incredibly delicious and an absolute must-order. For the main course, the steak frites was well-executed and came with perfect fries 🍟. Bella great server

My favorite and go to spot in Calgary! Love the food and wide selection of Craft Beer. Professional staff! Had a great time and ate 3 meals there during The Stampede. I already miss it very much.
Matt R — Google review
While the experience offered some truly memorable highlights, there's certainly room for improvement on the service front. The stars of the show: the beer and the food. The selection of craft brews was exceptional, showcasing a diverse range of styles that truly captured the spirit of Alberta. Equally impressive was the food menu. It's clear that the kitchen takes as much pride in their offerings as the brewers do in their beer. The quality of ingredients and the execution were top-notch, making it a true dining experience, not just a place for a quick bite. However, the overall experience was somewhat dampened by the service. While not outright rude, it felt inconsistent and lacked the attentive touch one would expect from an establishment with such high-quality food and drink. There were noticeable delays in getting orders taken and refills. It felt as though staff were stretched thin or perhaps not as engaged as they could be, leading to moments where we felt a bit overlooked. A more proactive approach from the serving team would elevate the entire visit. All in all its a gem for its outstanding beer and delicious food, making it a must-visit for any Calgary foodie or beer enthusiast. With some focused attention on improving the consistency and attentiveness of their service, this spot has the potential to be truly exceptional. I'd still recommend it, but go in with the expectation that you might need a little patience.

Popular for a reason and I'm surprised happy hour isn't more busy being down town. $10 negroni? Nice. $6 pints? Heck yeah. Fried sushi? Wow. The lager on special is fruity. The fried sushi is so good, it's like salmon caviar on top of the crunchy rice at the bottom of the rice cooker but in the best way, lightly fried not heavy or grossly crunchy. It has a fresh spicy pepper garnish and mango compote that are top notch. Not too salty. Lots of green onion so not for non-onion people maybe. Not an egregious amount of tvs, or at least they aren't in your face.

I enjoyed the lively atmosphere—it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a fun vibe. The food was good and came out quickly. Drinks were just okay—I’d recommend sticking with beer over cocktails. Overall, a solid place to hang out with friends.

Had dinner at Craft Beer Market in downtown Calgary and really enjoyed it! The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful with the perfect crunch, and the Cajun shrimp Alfredo was rich, creamy, and packed with just the right amount of kick — super tasty and filling. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes made it worth it. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and overall a solid dining experience. Would definitely come back!

From my Chowdown YYC page: Took the kids for burgers and shakes to Regrub. This one was a recommendation from the page and yep, all 4 kids gave thumbs up. One tried the corn dogs. They came as minis and they were “like amazing”. The rest had Vintage Burgers. I tried the Smoke N’ Fire Burger. Jalapeño Jack Cheese, Habanero Pineapple Salsa and Spicy Aioli. Burger was solid. Char on the patty and the flavours gave it kick without being over spicy. The burgers came with fries that had a nice seasoning salt. Took advantage of Regrub hour and had a $4 Cold Garden beer. Can’t go wrong there. Finished up with shakes. They have some wild ones with cotton candy and deep fried Oreos. Kids were stuffed and the trainer is watching so we kept it a little calmer. Root beer chocolate, cheery and blue berry. Mom says they are to die for. Pretty good for parking and kid friendly. It was a good recommendation and we will be back.

This is a completely different atmosphere from the Deerfoot City location - a more adult one in tune with the neighbourhood. There was a guy playing music, the burgers taste much better and come with some great beer. Didn't try the milkshake, maybe next time!

We ate here the two nights we were in Calgary. The customer service is top notch - a warm, friendly welcome both nights! Food is absolutely awesome, and the portion sizes are good value for what you pay. The strawberry milkshake was one of the best we've had, and the burgers were cooked just right. The fries are also worth a mention - the seasoning they use on them makes them sooo good! If you're in the area then definitely check these guys out - some of the best food we've had in Canada!

Heard about this place, then tried it for myself. It’s a good burger for sure. Pricier than normal but it’s also beltline. Brisket patties, butter toasted buns… delicious

I had a fantastic experience at this burger joint, ordering the Vintage Bacon and Cheese Burger with fries and a Vintage Blueberry Milkshake. The burger was cooked to perfection, with a juicy patty, crisp bacon, and melty cheese, all served on a fresh bun. The fries were golden and crispy, making for a satisfying side. The blueberry milkshake was a standout, creamy and full of flavor, not too sweet—just right. What I appreciated most was the relaxed atmosphere around 8 PM; it wasn’t too noisy, allowing me to enjoy the meal comfortably. Overall, great food and a pleasant dining experience!

Bakery

Cafe
Sidewalk Citizen Bakery is a charming rustic-industrial bakery located in the East Village neighborhood of Calgary. It offers a variety of organic baked goods, including artisan sourdough bread, pastries, and desserts. The bakery is housed in the newly-renovated Simmons Building and provides more than just baked staples; it also serves sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads, and stews with daily specials.
The atmosphere inside the café is warm and inviting, and there’s also a lovely patio outside right by the river, which adds to the relaxing vibe. After placing our order, we were given a buzzer while waiting for the food. You'll need to pick up your drinks at a different station. I ordered the sourdough croissant and almond croissant. Since I usually enjoy croissants warm, I had the sourdough heat up. However, I found the sourdough croissant a bit too greasy when warmed. On the other hand, my friend had the salmon sandwich, and the salmon was well-cured and nicely balanced by the refreshing crunch of cucumber. We also tried the matcha latte, which we both found a bit too watery and lacking in flavor. I saved half of each pastry to take home, and surprisingly, I enjoyed them even more later. The sourdough croissant, after being chilled, had a more pronounced flavor that I appreciated. The almond croissant, lightly reheated, was delightfully crisp on the outside with a rich, satisfying filling. Overall, a pleasant experience with some standout elements!
Cami L — Google review
Had breakfast and few croissants to serve and few for home. And an organic sourdough wholewheat bread. All pastries absolutely incredibly fresh, not greasy, very flavourful and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside-just perfect balance. The sourdough bread is probably the best in Calgary-perfect crust, perfect gooeyness and the perfect amount of holes as well-taste-perfect for my liking’s. The sandwiches: just perfect balance within the amount of ingredients and bread. Nicely cured salmon-decent amount, good quality avocado and great dark orange eggs/yolks. Never been disappointed at sidewalk citizen bakery. Great stuff as well, very interesting characters all around. Nice atmosphere-positive vibe all around.

Nice Bakery on the river front. The staff were nice friendly and in a good mood. I tried a couple things a slice of the Orange cranberry cake with brown sugar frosting it was delightful. I also tried their Quiche it was flavorful. Items are on the smaller side but I enjoyed my breakfast with a nice latte and sat outside relaxing under the sun. Bathroom and establishment were clean.

I love it here. One of my favourite spots to hang out on the weekend. Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible and so are the pastries I’ve tried. I love the location and how close it is to the river too. During winters, the interior is nice and cozy and great for a coffee work date.

Great bakery, i love everything they serve honestly. This is my go to place everytime I want something amazing to eat. Their sandwiches are also the best - they change daily/weekly so you gotta try them all! They also have a patio - it’s right by the water & is a great spot to grab a coffee/ walk your dog or walk by yourself.

Beautiful location right by the river. The granola, almond croissant and egg bun were scrumptious. You get your drinks from the nearby coffee roastery. Honestly I was a little disappointed. I have been wanting to try this place forever. The service was great but the food wasn’t what I’d hoped. Mac and cheese dog gets 1 star. Dry cold bun with what tasted like microwave Mac and cheese. No flavour and fell apart. The poutine was better but still not amazing. Fries were fresh but flavour combo wasn’t great.

Love this place. I get a donair poutine with no sweet sauce and peppercorn gravy with extra gravy. It's to die for. Sad they got rid of the Philly cheese steak poutine.. notorious P.I.G is great as well.
Rachael B — Google review
The poutine was fantastic. We had smoked Montreal meat poutine and a buttered chicken poutine both were fantastic. The drink selection are all bottled so that’s kind of lame and no matter what they give you to go containers. Other than that this place is fantastic. Highly recommended
Keith P — Google review
I love this place so will definitely give a positive review as well to reflect my other experiences with them if they redeem themselves from this. One of my fav things here is the option of peas on my poutine. At home, I put peas on poutine, Mac and cheese, tortellini, etc so I always laugh about how perfect this option is for me. My peas today were still half frozen. In addition my hot dog looked, felt, and tasted like it had been cooked hours ago. Sad day.
Allison V — Google review
The entrance was quite narrow so wheelchairs and bigger people may have difficulty. The seating was also incredibly low down, or child size, and quite uncomfortable. The art work displayed within is questionable. BUT the poutines are amazing. Massive portions and a wide selection of tastes. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I had the Montreal Smoked Meat Poutine.

We tried The Big Cheese Poutinerie last night for the first time. WOW! The fries were amazing! Freshly hand cut, perfectly crispy, and the flavor was amazing. By far the best fries and poutine we’ve had in Calgary. High five to their fry guy for cooking the perfect French fry! A very cool place. Love to hang out with friends especially after work or a long day! A bit chill this time of the year at the patio, we stayed inside where there are a lot of big tables and couches to sit on. Beers were alright. You can bring your own food in!

Once Our Favourite Spot… Now Just Kinda Meh We used to absolutely love this place. Like, told-everyone-we-knew, chose-it-over-every-other-location kind of love. It was our go-to, our comfort food, our dependable little taco haven. But lately… something’s changed. Portions? Noticeably smaller. Like, “Did I accidentally order off the kids’ menu?” smaller. And the last time we picked up dinner, something tasted a little… off. Not “call the health inspector” bad, but definitely “hmm, this tastes ‘off’?” questionable. Also, whoever decided to change the refried beans—why? The new ones are just not it. As for service, most of the staff are lovely and have given us some good laughs over the years. But there’s one employee in particular who just seems over it. We’ve had her a few times now, and each time, it’s like we’re interrupting her day by ordering food. It’s a shame because we’ve had great experiences with the rest of the team! And can someone explain this new rewards system? I had points. Like, a decent amount points. Now they’ve vanished into the tortilla-scented void, and I can’t figure out how the new ones work. I would’ve asked, but the staff member who rang me through seemed like she’d had enough already—and honestly, same. Really hoping this place gets back to what it used to be, because we miss loving it.
Jana K — Google review
This place has always been one of my favourite places — delicious food, warm atmosphere, and an amazing team. The staff is usually incredibly kind and welcoming, and that’s why we’ll definitely keep coming back. But today’s experience was truly disappointing. We were served by the girl in the photo, and sadly, her attitude was the complete opposite of what we’re used to here. She was unfriendly, unhelpful, and acted like she didn’t want to be there at all. It felt uncomfortable and unpleasant — her energy completely killed my appetite and mood. I gave 1 star only because of how this interaction made me feel today. I really hope management sees this and takes it seriously — the rest of the staff absolutely deserves praise, but one bad attitude can ruin the whole experience.
Lesia K — Google review
The food is good, my wife really likes the burrito bowls, I enjoy them as well, but not my absolute favourite. They’re efficient, well priced and consistent which is what I’m looking for in a burrito. I’m not a big fan of the atmosphere, but I could see how some would like it. I normally get take out and the food is always great 20 minutes later

Yum!! I haven't been here in about 7 years. Today we tried it again . Honestly compared to other burrito places . This one is really good! Not shy with cilantro! Serving size it good .they MAKE the tortillas!! A bit dirty( condiment area and garbage can was FULL ) one chicken slice of chicken in burrito was burnt ?! Lol Other then that it was good . One lady was super nice!! And the other was grumpy lol . A balance lol . 38 bucks for 2 people.

Have been going to this location since they opened, and what once was really good food for a fair price is no longer true. Portions on items I used to order are noticeably smaller (good ole shrinkflation), as well as some recipes have changed (for the worse). Used to go there multiple times a week, but haven't been there in months now. Staff was always great though!

Brunch restaurant
Brekkie is a vibrant and innovative breakfast spot located in West Springs, Calgary. The cafe offers a unique twist on classic brunch dishes, such as peach tamarind pork belly eggs Benedict and cream spinach and mushroom toast. Their menu also features creative options like bubble tea pancakes, Confit Duck & Waffles, and Earl Grey & Lavender Pancakes. The colorful abstract art and modern decor by Amanda Hamilton Interior Design create an inviting atmosphere for diners.
The food here is absolutely amazing. The Korean potatoes are a must to add to any meal! My husband doesn’t like eggs Benedict but ordered the short rib one and it was wonderful. Enough for two to share. We also ordered the blueberry pancakes, which are out of this world. Was way too much to eat. The restrained it a cafe style so is a bit tight. The food is really worth it.

We dined here for a brunch while heading out of the city. I've had a few friends recommend it and glad we stopped in. Last time I tried to visit there was a bit of a wait, (to be expected) it's a small restaurant and was on a weekend so it was packed. This current visit was on a Tuesday so a bit more quiet and we got in right away. We got the mango coconut french toast, a side of Korean potatoes, the ranchers brekkie, an iced latte and feature milkshake which was an orange chocolate one inspired by the Terry's orange chocolates. The food was delectable, pricy but worth it. Our server was wonderful and the vibes of the place were awesome.

I don’t even like pancakes, but I can get suckered into anything if it looks cool enough. I thankfully ordered the pancakes and they not only looked amazing but we’re the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The cake part of it was very dense and not like regular pancakes and the outside of the pancakes had an amazing crispness. The whole dish was excellent. My wife got the chicken and waffles and they were also amazing. Good coffee as well and I’d love to try and figure out how to make those pancakes
Rumble A — Google review
Is it possible to fall in love with French toast? Because that’s exactly what happened at Brekkie Café — and not just to us adults, but to our 10-year-old too, who declared, “This is the best French toast I’ve ever had.” And he’s right. ⭐ A Breakfast That’s Worth Every Penny Yes, Brekkie is a bit pricier than your typical breakfast spot, but once the food arrives, it all makes sense. Everything — and I mean everything — was crafted with care, consistency, and quality ingredients. From the presentation to the very last bite, this was breakfast done right. 🍞 The French Toast — A Masterpiece Fluffy on the inside, lightly crisped on the outside, served with a generous helping of butter and maple syrup — this dish alone earns a standing ovation. 🥓 Bacon & Sausage — Next-Level The bacon was perfectly smoked, with just the right thickness and a great fat-to-meat ratio. But the breakfast sausage? In my opinion, the best I’ve ever had. Not over-spiced, just enough seasoning to highlight the flavor of the meat itself. Perfectly sized. Perfectly prepared. 🥔 Potatoes, Eggs & Coffee — Nothing Left Behind Even the potatoes were a thoughtful touch — a beautiful mix of colors and types, all cooked to perfection. The eggs (sunny side up) had rich, orange yolks and were prepared with real skill. Coffee? Delicious. I started with drip and cream on the side — smooth and satisfying. I later tried a latte, which wasn’t bad, but I found the milk overpowered the gentle bean profile. Honestly, the classic coffee with cream was the sweet spot. (If I could offer one gentle suggestion: maybe take another look at the milk or steaming process for the latte.) ☕ Service & Atmosphere Heather, our server, was fantastic — kind, attentive, and made us feel at home, never rushed. Despite the full house, we waited only 5–10 minutes. The café itself is cozy, stylish, and welcoming. Plenty of parking, too. ⸻ 🙌 A Word of Thanks To the team behind the counter and especially those working the line in the kitchen — thank you. It’s clear you’re passionate about your craft and consistent with every plate you serve. Your attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed. This has become one of our favorite breakfast spots in Calgary, and we’ll gladly be recommending it to everyone we know. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re not just making food — you’re making mornings better.

If it wasn't for the food, I'd give this place a 1. Food was pretty good, not hot, barely warm but good. Server was awful. No personality, no smile and no engagement. In fact, not one employee smiled the whole time we were there except for the hostess when we arrived. The Server never checked on our food until we were done and had to continously ask for coffee refills from other staff members because our server was non-exhistant. She obviously didn't want to be there. Between that, food on the floor that was never picked up, and the dog droppings right outside of the window that we had to stare at all breakfast, I'd say this place was a big miss. After hearing great things, it was definitely a let down.
Steve S — Google review
Sunday morning at Brekkie was such a pleasant surprise — no waitlist, a quiet atmosphere, and attentive service right from the start. Our group of five tried a great mix of dishes: the Wild Mushroom Eggs Benny, Salmon Avocado Eggs Benny, two Classic Breakfasts, and the Saskatoon Berry Pancakes. The benedicts and classics were tasty and satisfying (portions leaned on the smaller side, but still just right for an early start). The real showstopper, though, was the Saskatoon Berry Pancakes — stacked high with a generous helping of whipped cream, perfectly golden with a slight crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Easily the highlight of the table! I also loved the chai latte — lighter than expected but packed with flavor, a refreshing change from the overly heavy versions you often get elsewhere. Overall, Brekkie delivered a cozy, delicious breakfast that I’d happily come back for. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great start to your day!

Went with a group of ladies. Chicken and waffles, duck confit bowl, raspberry pancakes, regular breakfast plate, and avocado toast was ordered. Service was great. Food was great.
Maggie P — Google review
The food at Brekki was very delicious, but the portion sizes are pretty small and it’s quite expensive. The Raspberry Fog is so good, but not $8.25 good for the size. I’m glad I got to try it, even if it’s probably a one-time visit for me.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Express Calgary Downtown! From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and accommodating – truly some of the best hospitality I’ve experienced. The hotel was spotless, and it’s clear they take great pride in maintaining cleanliness throughout. The recent renovations have given the space a fresh, modern feel, making it an even more enjoyable place to stay. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore Calgary’s downtown core. With easy access to shopping, restaurants, and attractions, it was so convenient to get around. I’ll stay here again on my next visit! Secure and plenty of parking available. Underground parking is added value. Highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers!

Exceptional Customer Service! I recently had an amazing experience with the Holiday Inn Express in Calgary. Due to an family emergency I needed to cancel my reservation, and the hotel manager went above and beyond to assist me. Not only did they promptly cancel the booking on their end, but they also personally helped me navigate the refund process with the third-party provider. Their professionalism, empathy, and willingness to help truly stood out and turned a stressful situation into a smooth, hassle-free experience. Exceptional customer service like this is rare these days, and I’m genuinely grateful for the support I received. I will definitely be booking directly with them next time I visit Calgary. Highly recommend!

Got the job done for a short trip! Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, she always had a huge smile. Our room was also upgraded free of cost and we got late checkout free of cost for being members. Breakfast was pretty good for a hotel. You can tell the building is a bit older as the elevator was kind of slow. The rooms were renovated which was nice. There were a few long hairs that were missed near on the bathroom floor near the shower which was a bit gross, but as someone with long hair, I can understand and I'm just glad they were on the floor and not anywhere else.

I chose this Holiday Inn because it was close to downtown and the Jubilee Center. It was easy to find and had parking included. Check in was very quick, the staff was friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. The price was perfect for one night.

Worst holiday Inn stay ever!! Front desk staff has lack of knowledge & rude with guest. At first she called me while I was on vacation in Edmonton that your pre booked room is not confirmed because credit card can’t be processed. After receiving email I called her to check properly she said sorry it went through. Lack of knowledge & expertise from staff’s have bad experience with guests. Also this location does not guarantee you safe free parking. The receptionist carelessly just said, feel free to park on the streets at your own cost if you can not find a parking at the premises. Had to come down and take extra blankets in the middle of the night since the couch bed was not prepared for the night and the receptionist couldn’t find staff to bring it to the room. No use discussing your concerns with the manager on duty Shamiza as she was the same. Been a regular IHG member but this location failed to deliver a pleasant stay experience!!

UPDATE: The hotel management is stating below that ''As a courtesy, we offered a complimentary late check-out, which overlapped with scheduled maintenance''. My response to them is that at no point was I informed that there will be scheduled maintenance. And why would you schedule a maintenance lasting an hour for an late check out of an hour. Secondly the hotel management is stating '', we also offered a room change, which was declined'' THIS IS A BLATANT LIE! Unbelievable how they spread misinformation online. My mother and I stayed in Room 302 at Holiday Inn downtown Calgary and were very disappointed with the service. We were granted a late check out at 1 pm. On our last day the receptionist called us informing us that people are coming to install blinds and new items in the room. I asked the receptionist to have them come in 2 hours as we will then check-out. He again called and said they cannot wait and have to access the room and that it would take ONLY 15 MINUTES. I sighed and agreed to have them come over (biggest mistake!). 3 men entered our room (was just me and my mother in that room). These men stayed with us in our room for over 50 minutes causing a lot of disruptive LOUD noises and talking about their personal lives not bothering if guests are in the room. It made us feel very uncomfortable . The lack of communication or courtesy from Holiday Inn Staff is unacceptable. Based from previous reviews, I have to agree they completely disregard their guest. Honestly if this is how they treat people , they should not be in the hospitality business. We will never return and do not recommend this hotel to anyone. In addition they have only ONE elevator for all their guests!
Manesha S — Google review
The A/C was leaking water and caused a lot of the carpet to be wet. Told them about it and they brought a towel…. I hope that kind of water isn’t causing mold. Otherwise, the room was old and well used. I’m giving 2 stars as it was nice that parking was included and the location was is convenient as it is a short walk to most of downtown Calgary.
Shawn P — Google review
Honey, I shrunk the hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is nothing like the photos. There is only one tiny elevator for the entire building, which makes getting to your room a frustrating ordeal. The hallways are narrow and cramped, adding to the overall feeling of being stuck in a budget motel rather than a proper hotel. The surrounding area feels unsafe—right across the street is a large homeless encampment. We did not feel comfortable walking outside, especially with our 5-year-old daughter. For families, this is absolutely not the right place to stay. If you value comfort, safety, and peace of mind while traveling, avoid this hotel at all costs.

Angel's Drive In, located in Calgary, offers a nostalgic 1950s diner experience with its retro decor and classic menu. The restaurant features old records adorning the walls and ceiling, black and white checkered flooring, red leather booths, and a vintage 1950s diner bar. Known for their famous burgers, sandwiches, and soft serve ice cream, Angel's Drive In provides a unique dining experience suitable for the whole family.
Angel’s Drive In has been a staple in Bowness for over 70 years, and it’s easy to see why. From the moment you pull up, there’s a sense of nostalgia and local charm that you just don’t find anymore. The burgers and sandwichs are always juicy and made fresh, the milkshakes are legendary (seriously—don’t skip the milkshake), and the service is consistently friendly and fast. Whether you're a longtime local or just passing through, Angel’s is the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. An absolute must-visit in Calgary!

Thought I'd give Angel's Diner a try for the first time. So this restaurant is unique for sure with caddy on the roof... To the decor inside. The customer service was good friendly staff. Prices were reasonable for quantity of food you receive. I had the cheese burger and my wife had the mozza burger.. I really enjoyed the crispy onion rings. The gravy was a little on the salty side. The fries weren't bad the burgers had huge buns and fresh toppings. Way better then Peter's Drive in. One thing I must say the noise level was quite loud when we first got there. Then after 30mins the crowd died down and wasn't as bad could actually hear myself think. Would have sat outside but the tables didn't have umbrella's. Pro tip if you need to use the washroom and someone is using it there is some downstairs.

Loved the vibe here! The food was exactly what you'd expect from a classic diner—nothing fancy, but it hits the spot, especially on a cheat day. The atmosphere was a standout: super nostalgic and made me feel like I’d stepped out of Calgary for a bit. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before. I highly recommend the curly fries and the strawberry milkshake!

I love vintage diners. The wholesome old fashioned details of these places make getting a burger more than just a fast food stop. It becomes a time travel experience back to full flavoured milkshakes, good sized delicious burgers with solid ingredients and crispy fries or onion rings. Angel's doesn't disappoint. I'd say they have the best onion rings in town. You have to try them. They are so good! I'd recommend coming with time to sit in one of the booths or an outdoor patio table on a nice day. Umbrellas are put out on sunny days. Lots of people coming and going with minimal wait for fresh food. No problem grabbing something for take out. If you're not in the mood for a burger, this is great stop for a tasty cool treat. Pick up an ice cream or float, if you're not in the mood for a milkshake. You can chill on site, or better yet head to Bowness Park (just a couple blocks north) and walk along the river or sit under the shade of one of the beautifu big old trees. If you're not getting take out, you can grab a menu at the right side of the counter (closest by the door) and find yourself a seat. No table service here but you can take your time. Sit where you like, pick what you'd like then head to the counter to order. You pay when your order and bring your dishes back to the labeled rack (at the left of the counter) when you are done. If your food will be a few minutes you'll get a buzzer to notify you when your order is ready for pick up (also at the left side of the counter). Self serve water and glasses available as labeled on the dish rack. Good size parking lot and some street parking. Hope this place stays open for many years to come. We'll definitely be back.

Nostalgic diner in the heart of Bowness. This place has been around for many years and they are probably the best 50s style diner in Bowwness I love the '50s Vibe here. The burgers are great. The shakes are amazing. The place is getting quite worn inside. And the booths are in terrible shape. And unfortunately the jukebox isn't working If you're looking for a wheelchair accessible washroom this is probably not going to work for you.. especially if you like to wash your hands after, is the soap dispenser is way out of reach if you're in a chair.
Robert S — Google review
The place looks great inside and out, a real throwback to the 50s however that's were the good times end. Dropped by for lunch and ordered a burger, poutine and a shake ...all were not good 😐 The poutine was made with shredded cheese instead of curds , the milkshake was awful far too sweet and was just vanilla ice cream with a cheap chocolate sauce added and then the burger...the worst offender !! Massive bun for a tiny over cooked pattie , I will say the bacon was cooked to perfection however 👌 Definitely won't be back , it's not tough to make a great thick juicy hamburger guys but they won't change. Best to avoid in my opinion.

A great Lil Classic Burger Shop that is oozing with character! I had driven by here many times and always wanted to stop in. I am glad that I finally did. Walking in is like stepping back in time. The charm of this place is very evident. The staff were quite friendly and even brought our delicious real coconut milk shakes to the table. The Bowness Burger meal was great and even came with a large poutine to boot. To be honest it would be great if a little more variety was added to the menu. But what they have is made well. I would have enjoyed it if the juke box still worked but I understand that servicing that system is not easy. I am glad that I finally came. Hopefully it won't be long before I return.

walked in to order 1 milkshake but was told to sit down. they cleared the lineup in the drivethru and it was completely quiet but they still wouldnt even glance our way, I tried catching their attention but nothing. Couldnt even muster a 'hi, just a moment let me wash this singular water glass' just ignored me. Just walked out after 15 minutes... new to the neighbourhood and had been excited to try it but what was that ?

Five Guys is a popular fast-food chain known for its made-to-order burgers, fries, and hot dogs. The burgers are big and filling, with the option to choose from a variety of toppings. However, it's advised not to overload the burger with too many toppings as it may become soggy. The freshly prepared food may require a wait time of 10 to 15 minutes. Customers can enjoy complimentary peanuts while waiting for their orders.
Really yummy burgers with so many fries, I love the fact that they give so many fries. The drinks are nice and so are the free peanuts. The bun was a little smashed but personally that doesn't matter to me. It came super fast too!

Best fast food burgers around! Had the bacon cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun. Love they provide this healthier option! Staff were friendly, everyone was working hard behind the grill and the second it slowed down the slightest one of them was out tidying up the table. The place was clean, even the restrooms.

I haven’t had five guys for a long time. Today I decided to stop in there just myself to get a quick burger. I cannot believe on how many fries I had in the bag wow. The burger itself was outstanding. As soon as I walked in all the workers were very happy to greet me and very pleasant. The restaurant is super clean and you enjoy being in there. Hands-down, one of the best burgers. Thank you.

I really need to start remembering to just get the little burger. The burgers are a great size and I'm happy to pay the price for the quality of the meal I'm getting. The Cajun fries are fantastic. And definitely one of my must-haves when I'm stopping in. I also love getting my burger loaded up with my favorite toppings. The staff are great. The atmosphere is great and they're always busy. So be patient. You won't regret it.

Normally I don't write reviews of fast food but this encounter was way different. We went to a Hitman game and in the way back to the hotel we looked for someplace to eat and saw the light on but also saw it was 8 mins till close. I opened the door and was greeted with lots of smiles. I asked repeatedly if it was OK for us to come in and order takeout and again, nothing but smiles and told forsure forsure welcome come in. The food was the food but to the owner of this establishment your staff is world class amd cherish them they are hard to find. Highly recommend to visit this place for the service one
Patrick T — Google review
Five Guys consistently performs exceptionally. There is a large gap between the quality, quantity and experience of eating at Five Guys compared to its closest competitors. The hamburger is *real* beef, cooked exactly to perfection. The toppings are consistently fresh and delicious and precisely proportioned. Their fries are *real* potatoes, cooked perfectly with no other ingredients. The price is better, by comparison to amounts and quality than even the lowest tier of fast food burger chains (think golden arches or some royal names). There should be no other consideration in your mind when you want a delicious, perfect, filling burger meal that delivers every single time.

By far the best, most friendly and professional customer service I have had anywhere in years! Staff greeted us upon arrival, were polite and friendly, food arrived promptly and they we were thanked as we left. Have not seen such friendly service in Calgary in years. Well done!

Completely dissatisfied with the cafe. The food was quite average:ordered a burger, and the fries were tossed in the paper bag. After eating I felt not good the whole evening. Also I didn't like the atmosphere: it is smelly and quite dirty. There were penauts and the was no information on what they are for. I'm a tourist and never been in the place, so I had no idea what is that for until I noticed what other leople do.

Tim Hortons is a Canadian chain known for its premium-blend coffee, light fare, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. While some locations may have received mixed reviews due to service issues, there are standout employees like Bianca who provide exceptional customer service. The city center location offers a lively atmosphere with quick service and polite staff. Despite occasional disruptions from other customers, the overall experience can be enjoyable.
After completing my U.S. visitor appointments with a great view of Calgary City Hall, I stopped by Tim Hortons for a classic black coffee. The brew was bold, smooth, and just the right temperature—exactly what I needed to recharge. The service was quick, and the atmosphere had a nice local vibe. Perfect spot for a simple, satisfying coffee break in the heart of the city!

I don't want to be rude here or anything but like, I went here in the winter and the floor was flooded with water, the food was rushed, and it was infested with homeless people, we had to leave because someone was questioning if we stole some stuff of his, and there was someone standing in the doorway swearing at everyone. Would never go again, but can't really blame it on the restaurant.
Cannon R — Google review
I really hate writing bad reviews but sometimes I can't help it. This is based on our experience. When we arrived at Tim Hortons they were cleaning the washroom. We asked if we could use the washroom but they said we couldn't, only after cleaning. And we understand. Since we can still hold it, we decided to just order a food. It took 45 minutes from the time we arrived until we finished eating. We have kids so it took awhile to finished our food. We tried to ask again if we can already use the washroom but they said we couldn't use the washroom yet. We were just a little disappointed because we were customers and there was no consideration at all. Imagine the 45 minutes it takes to clean the washroom and it's not even finished. It's like they have no plans to let customers use the washroom.

The location in the city center gives an imprint on this Tim Hortons( I drank a delicious cappuccino, ate a delicious chicken roll and donuts for dessert🤤🤤 I was served very politely, the order was prepared very quickly. While I was eating, I noticed that tables are often disinfected in this place👍 I liked this place! They have a big hall and a very lively atmosphere! But the end was spoiled by one lady, she ran around the hall and shouted “I want to pee!!!” Unfortunately, the staff did not immediately pay attention to her🤷‍♀️ It's okay, I just hope it was an isolated incident.

Today, Five Guys was the choice. This is our second time here. The staff is very helpful and happy to help you. Many choices we settled on the regular cheese burger with your own pick of condements to complement it and small fries. Well, the regular cheeseburger has two patties if you want less order the small cheseburger. The small fries were enough for two. The booths were clean. Really enjoyed the burgers' yum and fresh cut fries very tasty. Would we come back oh wait 2nd time here, so yes. I almost forgot the peanuts also included were a great starter.

My lunch at Five Guys was fantastic! I ordered a patty melt sandwich with creamy mayo and perfectly grilled mushrooms, and it did not disappoint. The flavors blended beautifully, and the patty was cooked just right, as juicy and packed with taste. To go with it, I got a side of little fries, but the portion was still generous! They were crispy, golden, and seasoned just right, making them the perfect companion to my meal. I paired everything with a regular pop drink, which was refreshing and completed the meal nicely. Between the fresh ingredients, great portion sizes, and the welcoming atmosphere, it was a satisfying experience from start to finish. Definitely a place worth visiting again!

The food was delicious, but unfortunately the staff were very rude. My partner and I arrived one hour before closing, and we were shocked by how we were treated. The man was throwing things around, and the lady at the front seemed upset and unfriendly. We felt very uncomfortable. It wasn’t just a few minutes before closing—it was still a full hour. If I hadn’t already paid for the food, I would have left and never come back. I strongly suggest that the owner speak with the staff to resolve this issue, because it really spoiled what could have been a nice dining experience.

Inglewood Drive In is a no-frills fast food restaurant that offers basic burgers, chicken strips, and hot dogs. They also have a drive-through option for convenience. One of their highlights is the dairy-free Dole Whip soft serve, which can be enjoyed with a chocolate dip that is also dairy-free. In addition to their sweet treats, they provide savory options and are willing to share ingredient information for custom orders.
This burger place is serving the best burgers I tasted in Calgary so far! We ordered a cheese burger and a fish burger. The flavors are really popping and the quality of the meat is top-notch. Every bite is a juicy and the sauce is very balanced. Prices are very affordable. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're a burger lover.

Went to try the Dole ice cream, it was excellent. Special deal for $1, incredible. Nice little spot with minimal parking so it may be hard to get in. The interior is also tight so minimal seating, but there are spaces outside in the form of picnic benches. I’ll have to come and try the food sometime. Definitely a nice sense of atmosphere, enjoyed the ice cream a ton.

I stopped here on my bike ride for a quite bite . I had the Inglewood original it was recommended by the server. The burger was tasty, the bun wasn't heavy and tasted fresh. Service was quick and my order was taken and served in reasonable time. I really like their onion rings. I'll be back for a quick bite 😉.

Very friendly and quick service and a clean little establishment. The burgers are big, the patties are a really good size, they're not over seasoned, and they're not greasy. If you like just a good bacon cheeseburger then this is the place to go. Although the other burgers are just as good, but for just a good ole Bacon cheeseburger this is the place I would very highly recommend. I should also mention the fries which have a delightful crisp and are lightly seasoned, and again not too much. I have no complaints about this place, I love it here.

We just had chocolate dipped dole whip because I had drove a different way to the zoo and saw the ice cream sign and thought, let's try here instead of the zoo first! And my kids were SO happy with the elephant ride, and so was I because it was so much fun, delicious ice cream, and the vintage nostalgic ride and the treats were super affordable too. We will definitely be back to have lunch here soon. So cool and loved the chocolate dipped dole whip. My kids got cones and I got one on the stick from the freezer which I preferred since it was more solid. They loved the soft serve. It was a great experience here and I'm sure a full meal here will be fantastic too. The staff was super friendly and efficient too. :)

Ok.. wow . We got single burgers .. and they ARE HUGE , the flavor of the burger is excellent 10 outta 10 i feel . 31 dollars for 2 people. But it is worth it . The whole menu looks amazing . I felt super rushed and lost while ordering lol, as I wanted no tomato and onion rings instead of fries. But I felt like I couldn't ask for some reason, maybe due to the millions of people inside behind me in line And the fact she just rung everything through super fast that I couldnt customize my meal or order more haha .. oh well, regardless , Its soo delicious. Again the single burgers is HUGE, wow ! This place is proably the best in calgary for burgers ! I love the retro look and feel to it . 10 outta 10 !

If you're looking for dole whip in Calgary this is the place to get it! They also have a special in the summer sometimes where the dole whip is only $1 which in this economy is such a great deal. The burgers and fries are also fantastic here, the burgers are well sized and have a bunch of toppings, and the fries are a great portion and come well seasoned.

I have a 5-year-old kid who was very excited to order her food, but unfortunately, at other fast food places, they don't reciprocate my daughter's energy. However, this store went above and beyond! A big thank you to Carylle for making my daughter’s experience so special. She was so kind, enthusiastic, and made sure my little one felt heard and valued. It's rare to find staff that engage with kids so genuinely. We will definitely be back, and we’re telling all our friends about this great experience. Thank you again, Carylle, for your amazing customer service

Its one of the worst place ever seen in calgary. I bought the beyond meat combo in which they cooked the beyond meat patty on the same grill on which the other beef patties are cooked. They haven’t used the parchment paper neither they wore gloves instead they gave me the excuse that its not in the policy of a& w to wear gloves. The patty was partially cooked. The poutine on the side was average and the drink was tasteless. Totally waste of money. Instead of having such rude employees they should shut off the store. Useless employees and total waste of money.

Good location of this A&W right in front of the 7th street SW C train station. Great to grab a bite or coffee on your way to downtown. Staff overall are friendly and helpful. ⭐ Worst Experience Ever – Absolutely Disgusting Treatment ⭐ If I could give zero stars, I would. This is hands down the most shameful, disappointing, and downright inhumane experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant in my life – and it happened at this A&W today. I went in and urgently asked to use the washroom because it was an emergency. Instead of showing even the smallest bit of basic human decency, the staff treated me with absolute rudeness and hostility. They flat-out refused and said I had to buy something first. I explained that I was going to buy food, but I needed to use the washroom immediately. Any normal person with an ounce of compassion would understand an emergency situation – but not these people. They were unbelievably cold, arrogant, and dismissive. I’ve eaten at many places before, but never in my life have I come across employees so utterly lacking in respect, kindness, and basic customer service. Their attitude was not just rude – it was disgusting. They acted like they were doing me some kind of favor by even speaking to me. Honestly, the way they behaved makes me question why they are even allowed to work in customer service. To deny someone access to a washroom in an emergency, while standing there smirking and acting superior, is beyond unprofessional – it’s cruel. I can’t believe a brand as big as A&W would tolerate staff who treat people like garbage. I walked out feeling insulted, humiliated, and furious. I will never, ever return to this location again, and I will make sure everyone I know hears about this. They don’t deserve customers if this is how they treat human beings. If you value respect, kindness, or even the slightest shred of decency, avoid this place like the plague. Shame on this A&W. Worst people, worst service, worst attitude. Absolutely pathetic.

Dear Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment and concern regarding the service I experienced at your establishment on June 6 at approximately 6:54 PM. Upon arriving at the restaurant with my friend, I requested the washroom code while my friend was placing our order. The staff member who appeared to be of Filipino descent responded in an extremely rude and dismissive manner. When I politely asked for his name and the name of the manager on duty, he refused to provide either and continued to behave unprofessionally. Another staff member, a larger individual, was also dismissive and displayed similarly poor customer service. To make matters worse, none of the staff were wearing name tags, which is concerning in a public-facing business. Customers deserve to know who is serving them, and the lack of accountability raises questions about the professionalism and integrity of the staff. This experience has left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I believe that individuals who interact directly with customers should maintain a basic level of courtesy and professionalism. I intend to escalate this matter further, but I would appreciate it if you could assist by providing the names of the staff members on duty at the time and the contact information for the manager. I hope to hear from you soon regarding how this situation will be addressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. June 6

The place is clean, and the food is solid, definitely a good option if you’re craving a hamburger. That said, the service at the counter leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, it’s not the first time I’ve experienced issues. The staff often seems confused by orders, sometimes even changing items without explanation. It’s happened so often that it feels almost intentional. On top of that, their attitude can be quite rude and unprofessional. It’s a real shame, this place has great potential, but it’s being held back by poorly trained staff.

Food was good, went to buy food last week and waited for my family to stop by but decided for take out! The behavior of the staff is really bad. How the short filipino guy was shouting the order to the lady in a bad sarcastic way like making her feel embarrassed in front of everyone. Situation didnt escalate but this is very concerning and embarrassing for the lady for sure. I will really not come back.

Pizza restaurant
Hip counter-serve pizzeria dishing up crispy, thin-crust pies made with creative toppings & sauces.
This place is absolutely amazing! The staff were some of the nicest people I’ve met. The food was amazing and the menu was extensive. The best way I can describe something like this is Subway for PIZZA! You get to completely customize your pizza and they have toppings I’ve never even heard of. The price was really good as well. I will be coming back!:)

My first time at blaze pizza was way back in 2016 in Los Angeles when I lived and worked there, it was a regular food spot for me and always enjoyed their pizza. Been in Calgary since 2022 and finally got to try it again and they did not disappoint at all. We stopped by around 7:30pm on September 20th, 2025, entire place was empty but the service was still professional. One team member from the cashier desk greeted loud, welcome to blaze pizza. It's always refreshing to hear that no matter how busy they're, shows a sign of respect to the customers and I appreciate that. We ordered three types of pizzas and all of them were made really well, veggies, meat, dough were all baked to the right temperature. I added feta cheese for the first time to my pizza and it still tasted good. You can literally finish the entire pizza and not feel very heavy, regular crust is the better option to order. Staff was very professional, answered few questions I asked. This will be the place to visit again.

I don't like to eat outside food, mainly cause I cook super good and don't trust many places out there, making my food. Yet, every time I get pizza from this place, I demolish it in no time. So good. And people that work there are so kind, helpful, do their job with pride and it shows. Best pizza in town! And every single time we go there, the service is top notch!!! People working there are always smiling and happy to make your order. We always get pizza 🍕. I end up chatting every time with them. We joke. Laugh. 😆 We feel so welcome there. That's why we keep going back. The staff are happy to make our food, and we can taste love. So good. Today Jaz and Jackson were working. Very friendly. I think Jackson was new, but Jaz has been working there for a while. She is very very nice. Made our pizzas. So yummy! 😋 This is what I call customer service, where you feel welcomed. And of course we will be back, best pizza with superb service!!! Love 💓 this place 💓💓💓 Great job, Jaz and Jackson. Thank you. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Not the cheapest pizza, but super tasty. Unlimited toppings, stacked and good drizzles and stuff at the end - chilli oil 😋 I can eat 2 pieces and it be enough vs multiple pieces of mostly dough. Check it out.

Enjoyed eating here, wait isn’t long and the staff were friendly. I like being able to choose our own toppings, sauce and cheese! Lots of options, you’ll have to try pesto sauce/pizza!

I've been here twice during my 5-day stay in Calgary, which says a lot about how much I love the flavors they offer. The food is fresh, the servers are great, the place is clean, and you get exactly what you ask for. Don’t miss their fresh Cesar salad and dressing.
Sonia R — Google review
The guys who made the pizza are doing an excellent job. The pizza is fresh and delicious.

The pizza was absolutely perfect by Jas – fresh ingredients, deliciously crispy crust, and just the right amount of toppings. Full of flavor and served hot. Easily one of the best pizzas I’ve had, highly recommend

Pizza Takeout
Coco Brooks Highfield is a delightful gem in Calgary, born from Richard Osiowy's quest for exceptional pizza. After relocating to the city and finding his cravings unmet, he transformed his garage into a test kitchen inspired by the Las Vegas Pizza Expo. This passion project has blossomed into a beloved spot offering personal-sized pizzas in 8 and 10 inches, along with unique dessert pizzas that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
First time trying Coco Brooks. Got the East Side pasta! It was phenomenal!! Perfectly seasoned with so much flavor and a great amount of cheese on top! Also tried the Banana Bread Pizza for dessert! It was equally delicious but could use a bit mode cream cheese in the centre! Overall would definitely recommend and will be back to enjoy some more yummy dishes!

First time here, large restaurant, dine in or take out. Great for parties or office workers as everyone can order their own pizza and pop for $9. Marketplace for your frozen chicken or pizza order to take home. Arrived before dinner rush but it sure can get busy, recommend ordering ahead during dinner or lunch rush. Friendly helpful staff. We’ll be back to try more of the menu.
Lisa C — Google review
One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Beautiful crispy crust. The toppings were all phenomenal. I got the mile high club pizza and it did not disappoint. Lots of meat and cheese. I put the chili flakes and parm they offer on it and it was just outstanding. Personal pizzas is there go to
Chris C — Google review
Amazing pizza! Love the take home and bake versions too. Super convenient and you can tell they use quality ingredients. 10/10 recommend! Our favourite is the ranch chicken pizza!
Delaney P — Google review
Food is and has always been good. I have been going to Coco Brooks since I was a kid. But this Highfield location needs some service training. Their ability to manage the mix of high volumes of customers in store and over the phone is abysmal at best. Called as I left the parking lot of my work about 20 minutes away, so that I could pre-order the pizzas. I was on hold without talking to a single person the entire drive to the store. I walked in, still on the phone and asked the person at the counter who is responsible for answering phones, and how it can take at minimum 20 minutes for me to be connected to a human and the only thing that person could say was "We're busy." I get that it's lunch, I get that you're busy. But I'd encourage you to take that excuse to any other franchise pizza place and see if they find that acceptable.
Jordan S — Google review
Love the pizza, wings (red thai curry), smoothies and chocolate lava cakes! They’re so delicious! The price was pretty cheap for such amounts of food, also the pizza was tasty, it had a crispy texture on the side and softness inside. We’ll definitely be back to try another pizza and other frozen food!
Linda N — Google review
This pizza just hits different, in the best way. There's a ton of excellent pizza places in town, some I'd even call my favourite. And yet every time I come back to Coco Brooks, I realize what I'm missing when I go to anywhere else. The pizza here is top notch and fresh, great choices of toppings and specialty pizzas, and a decent price to boot.
Criminal P — Google review
The best pizza!! I have yet to try them all but my go to are the Bacon Double Cheese and the Big Al’s. Their side sides are a great add on, the Greek salad is my favourite. On top of that the staff are always amazing 😊

Fast food restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Falafel King is a popular counter-service spot in downtown Calgary that offers Mediterranean sandwiches, platters, baklava, and juices. Despite the long lines during lunchtime, the service is impressively fast and the staff are friendly. The beef shawarma wrap is highly praised for its amazing taste. Customers also rave about the falafel wrap bursting with flavor and freshness.
First off, the staff here were some of the nicest people I’ve ever experienced in Canada. Super warm and welcoming and genuinely happy to have people there! The food was also incredible. I got the mixed shawarma and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite!
Tyler T — Google review
Nice long narrow cozy place in the busy St Avenue pedestrian only. Clean washroom in the basement. Around closing time after 6 pm, I got to eat, they got to sell, got a veg falafel wrap. A big portion than usual I had tried, came with a sweet, but falafels were dry ( no moisture), hummus wasn't that great, felt the whole wrap a bit dry to eat. May be it is closing time, I don't know, but gave me stomach knots and couldn't sleep overnight after, struggle! May be one should try during busy times around lunch? 🙂 Seen good reviews but sad 😢 one for me. I hope next time it is better.
Saravana P — Google review
We ordered takeout from Falafel King during our vacation, and it was by far the best food we had during the trip. The order consisted of: [1] donair poutine, [2] donair wrap, [3] falafel wrap, and [4] beef shawarma platter. First off, Falafel King is very liberal with the amount of donair they layered on both the poutine and the wrap - they were loaded with so much delicious donair that it puts my Bay Area-local restaurants to shame. And it was good, like so tasty. For the poutine, the gravy was just right - it was neither overly watery or viscous.. The yellow potatoes used in the poutine were fried on demand, so they came out extra crispy. The beef shawarma platter was also pretty loaded with delicious meat, rice, veggies, and large-sized pita (the same ones used to make the wraps). To top it off, the order came with a free side of Baklava. The hot sauce used in the wraps had some real heat to it, even though it wasn't slathered on. Service was fast, and the two gentlemen working the counter were very courteous. As for the layout of the restaurant, it seemed clean - but we did not linger given the order was takeout.

If you’re looking for a meal that’s delicious, filling, and packed with flavor, **Falafel King** is an absolute must-visit. I stopped by during a busy convention weekend, and their food not only satisfied my hunger but left me craving more. Every bite was a burst of freshness, spice, and hearty goodness—perfect for recharging between events. ### **The Falafel: Crispy, Flavorful, and Perfectly Spiced** The star of the show was, of course, the **falafel**. Golden-brown on the outside, tender and herb-packed on the inside—no dryness here! Whether in a wrap or as part of a platter, each bite had the ideal crunch-to-softness ratio. The tahini sauce drizzled over it was creamy with just the right tang, elevating the dish even further. ### **The Donair: A Meaty, Savory Delight** I also tried their **donair**, and wow—what a treat! The seasoned meat was juicy and well-spiced, wrapped in warm, pillowy flatbread with fresh veggies and that signature garlic sauce. It was so satisfying that I could’ve eaten two (but the portion was generous enough that I didn’t need to!). ### **The Baklava: A Sweet, Nutty Finale** No meal here is complete without their **baklava**. Layers of flaky, buttery phyllo dough packed with honey-drenched nuts—each piece was the perfect balance of crispy and sticky-sweet. It was the ideal dessert to round out an already amazing meal. **Why I’ll Be Back** - **Generous portions** kept me full for hours—no convention hunger crashes! - **Fresh ingredients** made every dish taste vibrant and high-quality. - **Friendly service** even during peak hours—they handled the crowd like pros. ### **Final Verdict: 10/10 – A Must-Try for Mediterranean Food Lovers!** Falafel King didn’t just feed me; it made my convention weekend better. Between the falafel, donair, and baklava, I’m already planning my next visit. If you’re craving hearty, flavorful food that leaves you completely satisfied, this place is a **king** for a reason. **Highly recommended!** 👑🥙🍯

I went there and ordered a large plate with rice, chicken, vegetables, and falafel. It was almost closing time, and the staff was in the process of cleaning up. Towards the end of my meal, the lady started shaking the carpets inside, causing a lot of dust to fill the air. As a result, I had to leave before finishing my food. Later that night, I felt really sick, and I'm hoping it wasn't due to something in the food. That said, the meal itself was delicious.

Breakfast restaurant
The IKEA Restaurant in Calgary offers a unique dining experience with Swedish-inspired food, including classic dishes like meatballs and salmon. The spacious and clean seating area provides a self-service cafeteria-style atmosphere. Customers can enjoy decent, simple food at reasonable prices, making it an affordable dining option. The restaurant has received positive feedback for its tasty Swedish comfort food and the introduction of new menu items like plant-based balls.
Life hack at its best. When you’re on a road trip IKEA is fantastic. Free parking. Clean washrooms. Cafe or bistro. Affordable food and drinks and snacks. Our family is from Vancity. Thank you for a great experience along our way to the Eastern part of our beautiful nation. The staff is wonderful here. Very friendly. We just made it in time for breakfast but some of our friends wanted lunch too so it was just a 10 minute wait to restructure for lunch service. Perfect timing👌

You get exactly what you hope for, for a great price. Even with all the inflation their meals are still affordable (because you're gonna probably blow more money buying furniture later anyway). Love the Swedish meatballs. Was also really craving a fresh salad so the salad hit the spot.
Esther L — Google review
Great value breakfast and lunch meals! There are a good variety of dishes in both their breakfast and lunch menus, all of which have nice low prices! The food isn't going to blow you away, but they're all satisfactory and the Swedish meatballs in particular taste really great. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, sausage, potatoes, bacon, and more. The lunch menu also includes haddock and chips, steamed veggies, and more. The service is decent and fast and there is ample space for dining in at the tables too. All in all, a nice place to just grab a quick bite when shopping nearby or at Ikea!
