The bathrooms are in the shrank like something from The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe! Seriously, you have to walk through the hangers and clothes to get to the Toiletten! Food is Great here, coffee and tea is excellent. Best tea around. Wonderful cozy place with great people. I give it 4 for needing a deep clean. It is awesome but a little tired looking.

Waited about 2 hours for food, service is fine but the wait is a issue, don’t recommend, also the prices are to expensive 18,90€ for two Brötchen a bit of cheese and a egg.

We were looking forward to brunch here, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed by how we were treated. We initially sat at a small table while waiting for a better one. When a larger table became available, we moved there. Shortly after, two other guests arrived with a waitress, who asked us to move — even though the table wasn’t reserved. I asked if it was booked, and the waitress said: “No, but they wanted to sit there, and I promised them the seats.” This felt extremely disrespectful, especially since we were already seated and other tables were available. When I tried to express how uncomfortable this felt, I received no apology, no explanation, and no effort to help us find a solution. Instead, she told me I could speak directly to the other guests — essentially putting her responsibility onto us. When I pointed out that it was her job to handle the situation, she simply turned her back and walked away. As foreign visitors, we couldn’t help but feel that we were treated with less respect than others. The food was good, but the overall experience was ruined by unprofessional and dismissive service. I hope the staff receives better training in how to treat guests fairly and respectfully.

Wonderful!!!! Very creatively decorated with doors everywhere from walls to the ceiling and a bathroom that appears like a wardrobe!!!!! Crazy!!!!! Cosy in a wonderful location close to town and living areas. Very very nice assortment of beverages, whose ingredients can also be bought. The carrot cake was like a whole meal!!!!! Not too good though but not bad either..... Nice and helpful staff. And...... affordable 😁

You gotta stand in the queue because it's a really popular brunch place. Besides, their menu is rather diverse with brunch options from many different cuisines. The price is pretty expensive for students tho, but comes with quality food and a huge portion.

What can I say, we loved it, so nice to have such a huge variety of brunch offers and cakes, and the majority of the food is vegan or has a vegan alternative. We sat in the little old flair rose garden, but the inside of the cafe is very unique as well. The food and the cakes were delicious. We are definitely coming back to try out the other brunch options at cafe Resonanz. Great that Kiel has such places to offer.

The atmosphere was amazing - we dropped in and were excited to see a tango event unfold in the middle of the place. The music, the lights and people dancing really made it romantic. Also a super sweet waitress!

Had a great brunch there, followed by cake, it looked nice and was very tasty. I am happy, that Kiel has such a modern vegan/vegetarian cafe. At our visiting time, we also managed to catch the little exhibition inside, that was also cool to see, that this cafe collaborates with the art school students.

We had a lovely vegan brunch. The plate was delicious, filling and with lots of variety. We aware that at the weekend they do not serve lunch, but they serve brunch until closing time. We will definitely be back!

We waited and waited for basic service. An older man asked if we were still missing anything, and when we told him what we were missing, he raised his voice and scolded us as if we did something wrong. He said we shouldn’t have ordered anything other than the buffet, because they don’t have enough staff to accommodate anything other than what’s served at the buffet. We explained that we were offered that option by his staff. He scolded us further saying there were 150 customers (we definitely did not see 150 people) but only 6 staff members as if it was our fault. He was probably feeling manly raising his voice to a table of 15 women. If he felt so comfortable speaking to customers this way, imagine how he treats his staff. I feel sorry for anyone working with this person.

We came a Saturday midday and waited in the entrance for about 10 min but nobody greeted us. Si we expected we must search a table ourselves. Here we waited another 20 min and nobody served us. We had a delightful brunch at Mu:d coffee, enlightened by tasty food and friendly service. We took a toast each (fish and egg) and the trio of croffle to share. Everything was simple but good. I specially liked the yuzu/kiwi croffle, delicious! The cold matcha drink was amazing to drink under the sun at the terrasse. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend if you are in Kiel!

Nicest and coziest coffee place in Kiel.

Service was nice but food was pretty bad. Ordered the entrecote medium and got it well well done with two oven potatoes covered in a spoon of raw cream. No seasoning nothing. For starter we ordered a simple aioli with baguette and the aioli was definitely from the supermarket. As for the drinks I ordered a juice with supposedly plenty of ingredients but it was just orange juice. Might return for beers but not for food.

I visited Kiel on my recent trip to Germany and found this nice Cafe-Restaurant right next to the Bluecherplatz. Though not open for service inside, Genusskueste serves tasty bakeries ('homemade'), fresh coffees, sandwiches, and hot meals. My Zucchini soup and Cappucino were excellent, service was great. I will definitely stop by the next time I am back in Kiel.

I went here with my husband and mother-in-law. Both are German so could communicate really easy with the staff. We arrived between the breakfast/lunch change over and were offered the choice of which one we wanted and decided to have lunch, assuming there wouldn’t be much of the breakfast buffet left. We ordered water, 2 x Fritz-Kola, 2 x Fischpfanne ‘Gorch Fock’ for myself and my husband which had pieces of fish fillet, shrimp, roast potatoes and fried egg. My mother-in-law had scrambled eggs with shrimp. The waitresses and waiters were very friendly, although initially a bit slow. The food tasted nice but was rather oily, especially the potatoes, they weren’t roasted as advised on the menu, but more fried and not drained well at all so they weren’t very crisp either. Overall the food tasted nice but wasn’t the best in terms of cooking quality. The atmosphere was good, lovely surroundings as well, just a shame smoking is still permitted at the outdoor seating.

Wunderbar! A Restaurant in the forest with an old german building where you can eat indoors in a cozy environment. The only thing disturbing is the loud volume. The food was great and not too expensive. When the weather is warm there's a big beer garden and also playgrounds nearby. You can even watch football games in the Bier Garten. There's nearby parking and it's easy to reach. I will definitely come again.

All reservations will be put ahead of you, even if you are waiting at the door and see tables free. We waited for quite some time before being seated and were only seated after checking in with pretty rude, nonchalant staff at least 3 times. We nearly walked away. But once seated, staff were generally attentive and friendly. Drinks were served quickly. Meals were slow - but they were also very busy. So don't eat here if you are under time pressure. Perfect place to sit 'ON' the ocean, enjoy the sunshine, view and a nice meal and a few drinks with friends. A better system is needed for people without reservations, who are willing to wait at your door for a table.

I love the vibes of the place. The structure.... it's like a really old torn up place.... from the walls to the furniture but I think they did it with intention . It's really shabby chic....... the service is great the chocolate orange cake I had was awesome and so was the freshly squeezed orange juice!!!!!! From the front the place always looks full so don't just leave without asking the staff if there are free tables, and be early enough, they close at 18U.😊

During nice weather you have the option to sit next to the street with small shops. Almost all the Staffs that day were very unfriendly which is very disappointing because it ruined our atmosphere. And the restaurant wasn’t even full. One of the waitresses mainly, was very rude and impolite we called her to our table to order several times and she just looked at us and looked away intentionally because she served every other table that came in after us !!. And that happened at least 6 times which was very disrespectful She just served all the tables around and beside us. And we had to wait 15mins for another waitress to come outside to take our order, just to find out that they ran out of espresso because that machine wasnt working. I guess we weren’t pretty enough for her to take notice of and to get a give a good service

The fjord view is amazing and the restaurant interior is very well designed 9/10. The food is good with big size portions 7/10. Children friendly 10/10.

Enjoyable, but table allocation needs some work. No clear system for clients. One section closed but no signage hit and miss system for leaving your details. No assistance for a client with limited mobility just o point in the right direction.

We enjoyed our meal here and it was a pleasant day outside. We had noticed a cocktail being served here the night before, that we really wanted to try, but unfortunately we were there during lunch and the drinks are not served until the evening. The service was okay and in all we had a pleasant experience here.

Got huge amount of rather boring schnitzel. Twice as much as we could eat. Would rather have wanted halv an better quality.

Bought a schnitzel burger the meat was really dry. Also bought a strawberry daiquiri, which didn’t taste like strawberries at all and had so much alcohol that I couldn’t taste anything else far too strong.

Me and my party enjoyed our visit for a late lunch. We had various dishes including caesar salad and burger. Everyone was satisfied. I would expect this to be a good place to visit for drinks as well, as many reviews attest. On Sundays they've got a brunch special we didn't try. We had contact with a good English speaking staff that happily chatted with us, relayed info, took orders, answered questions. There was a wait, but only because of previous orders. There are several people in the staff active at any one time, so we had no problem getting someones attention. The location is great, wand has a pretty large outdoor seating area. On a hot summers day a little bit of waiting is to be expected, if arriving about the time of the á la carte menu in the afternoon.

Very cozy and warm restaurant and bar. Friendly and smiling staff. Prices are accurate in terms of what you get. My wife and I both went with a pizza, which was very well-baked with a thin and delicious crust, while the topping, however, was bland and without much taste. Drinks was well-made. They are worth a visit! 👍

I got my pizza and cocktail probably within 6 minutes or so from my order. Pizza was very tasty with plenty of ingredients, the dough was very soft. The cocktail was a little too sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. 18€ for both. In combination with the pleasant atmosphere, I would definitely recommend.

Nice place to chill, cashier guy was friendly and nice. Food is decent. Their offenkartoffel is good. I tried their Tote Tante and it’s very interesting (hot chocolate with Rum). Nice scenery.

Having grown up in the area, I've known this place for many years and it's always a pleasure to stop by for a cold beer, some fries and hamburger (yum!) while enjoying the fantastic view. Feels like home.

The food is usually very good and tasty, the staff attending. Unfortunately today wasn't such a great day. Ordered salmon with the option of having spicy... In announced vegies were also mushroom, that is necessary to be said before. And the food was just a bit tingling on the tongue. The lady serving us was trying, but lacks the skills and the knowledge to help the guest. Four stars for two great experiences before here.

This restaurant serves good well portioned meals , the food is widely varied an very tasty, I've eaten here twice an the service does seem to vary as well ,between very good an average depending on who is on that night, the baby ribs are recomend...

I came in on a Sunday for a coffee and there was only one barista. The coffee was good, but it felt weird without any table service or staff paying attention to customers. Maybe I am spoiled but I prefer table service especially when you charge high prices. I do have to add I am used to Melbourne hospitality and it seems to have set a high bar. Coffee was good and in comparison to other coffee places it's good. For no table service I simply find the prices too high, working in the coffee industry I know the prices and this appears too high without having the staff costs.

If you’re a coffee person. I would highly recommend here. There are 3 different types of coffee beans (including decaf). ☕️ I personally like light-medium roasted (Röstgrad 1-2 from 4). Cos i tried Röstgrad 3 it was super bitter for me. **Unfortunately they don’t have much cakes or bakeries 🥹 but hopefully they might have more options(cakes) 🧁🍰🥨🥐 in the future. Ps. You can also buy coffee beans here! Even accessories. 😊✨

Excellent coffee - full-bodied with strong character roast. Noteworthy is the particularly good barista oat milk used by the Loppo team, which goes very well with the bean roast. Clear recommendation if you are looking for a very good coffee in Kiel.

Local roaster and bike shops, knowing this place at Saturday market on Exerzierplatz. The atmosphere is relaxing and the coffee is high quality. The raw beans they have are purchased by themselves to the local farmer.

Location is cool. Coffee is of good quality, but I think the roasters suffer from having to cater to second-wave espresso based tastes of their local clientele. I bought their Kongo and Ethiopian single-origins and they were beautifully selected. Whoever is sourcing knows excellent coffee. Unfortunately the roasting killed what I know are excellent beans. They consistently go darker than they should because these locals both roasters and clients are raised on darker roast profiles by default. I think they may be cautious. They must think that if they were to give a fruity, complex, full profile coffee to their clientele, they would not have customers and be treated like a curiosity. Excellent raw product, but they need to step-up in roasting.

We chose the place, because of the high rating on Maps and we were not disappointed. It wasn't that busy and the staff was very friendly. Because we were in a hurry we asked how it would take to get a meal, around 15 min. The order came that quick and the pizzas tasted great. We took the leftovers with in a box provided by them. The place is nice to sit as well. Definitely recommend!

first time me and my family tried this restaurant was about a year a go or something and it didn't met our expectations. We ordered that day 2 pastas and a pizza. The pasta didn't have the strong taste or anything special...it was just a pasta that anyone can make at home. we were expecting a original italian food but it wasn't unfortunately. A couple of days ago we had a whole different experience...an original italian fresh Antipasti and pizzas....The difference is big. We found more and better choices.. we really enjoyed the food. we ordered the Parma schinken with grilled veggies and it was was amazing...never had that mix of taste the pizza was fresh made hot served and very tasty. The team was very friendly and gave our kids small gifts which kept them busy ☺️. The prices are also very reasonable. for a good Italian experience i would recommend Lucacelli

Been there a couple of times, service is not really friendly, products are not fresh and coffee was below average. All made for a negative experience, I felt the overpriced products were not even remotely worth it. Not going there again.

Free wifi and the FAZ, ok coffee. Certainly the most instagram-friendly corner of the Kiel Hbf but the sandwiches are made with the lowest-grade ingredients possible, the desserts not even pretending to have come straight from the freezer and an overflowing self-service dish-return bin and no water glasses when the employees outnumber the customers? Not fun when you've got your luggage and wallet and winter things to juggle. The bakery at the Main Entrance is a better bet- they've at least put more effort into consistency than into presentation.
