Located in Farnborough, it stands out as one of the top dining spots in the area, inviting guests to indulge in a variety of flavors. Whether you're craving traditional comfort food or something with an international twist, Monkey Puzzle Brewers Fayre has you covered. The welcoming environment makes it an ideal choice for families looking to enjoy a meal together while creating lasting memories.
Wow! What an excellent dinner (mixed grill) Food superb, staff are very friendly, polite and held. There was American baseball on TV, I counted 25 throws and 3 were hit by the bat; rather like British football (90mins of boredom with grown men playing with their balls). Also watching the wicket keeper, I learnt to tell when the batsman was going to hit the ball or not…. Do love a straight game of monopoly 🤣

My feet were sticking to the floor, which should be a big red flag to anyone. The choices in the continental breakfast were dire. The building was run down. Basically a bad experience. I have included some photos. Premier inn and Brewers Fayre should be embarrassed. I get a feeling they don't care at all.... I, for one, will try in future to avoid them at all cost...
Antony D — Google review
The front of house staff, especially Nikki, Kriti and Lukasz, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even when the place was busy, they worked tirelessly to make sure every customer was happy and well looked after. Great atmosphere, great service—definitely worth a visit!
Teresa E — Google review
Had the £5 menu ordered a burger. The bun was bigger than the burger but it was only £5 It was just ok. Had falafel and Houmous starter which was a bit dull and tasteless and clearly a pre-made product not freshly made. My partner had the smothered chicken which was a bit dry and overcooked. Service was slow but friendly. Sticky tables and a bit tired inside. Nice atmosphere. The Breakfast here is really good value for money and lots of choice with unlimited hot drinks and would highly recommend it. I'd think twice about main meals though. 3 Stars for menu 4 stars for breakfast.

Went in for Sunday roast and the food was really good and hot. Staff were very nice and helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed it here. And definitely will book a table for Sunday again. It was well worth the money and a shout out to all the staff who were working today you were lovely and I can't wait to see you all again soon 😀
Sarah P — Google review
Unfortunately, I can’t leave a proper review because it seems they don’t actually want the business. We first booked a 5:30 slot for the carvery and phoned ahead to confirm wheelchair access, only to be told that was “too late” and they wouldn’t be serving carvery at that time. We then rearranged plans with friends and rebooked for 4:15 instead — only to be told they hadn’t received any gammon and that there probably wouldn’t be much carvery left after lunch anyway. At this point, it really felt like they were doing everything possible to avoid serving rather than welcoming customers. We won’t be trying again.
Melissa K — Google review
Relaxing family breakfast from fixed price self service breakfast . Good range of cereals, yogurts, fruit, rolls and toast. Good range of English breakfast hot items and some which available on request, eg vegetarian. Tables cleared efficiently and staff always helpful. Warned before end of breakfast time to ensure you have had what you wanted, and can finish after this. Overall a good place and good value
Chris N — Google review
Ordered chicken tikka masala served with rice a popadom and mango chutney, told they don’t have the popadom asked for a naan bread instead and told they couldn’t because of affecting the stock, food came and no mango chutney, not really acceptable as they couldn’t offer what was on the menu.

Steak house
Bar & grill
Breakfast restaurant
Farnborough Beefeater is a casual dining spot and bar that has been serving straightforward steakhouse dishes, burgers, and breakfast since 1974. With over 140 locations across the UK, it has become a popular choice for families. While some visitors have noted concerns about the cleanliness of the exterior, many have praised the attentive service provided by staff members like Katie and Jenna. Despite occasional delays in food service, guests appreciate the delicious meals and generous portions offered at this establishment.
Went to Beefeater for my nieces 8th birthday tonight. Great atmosphere, lovely table position. Katie was very attentive and noting was too much trouble to accommodate our needs. Food was amazing and great value for money. The birthday girl enjoyed your surprise birthday cake and Happy Birthday song. Would highly recommend and return soon.
Lorraine S — Google review
I had a very good welcome, the staff took my order in time food was great and on time but….it is my first time visiting Beefeater the restaurant looks tidy and clean till I pull the chair out and look around to sit in a different place (I request to the staff to swap and they said NO) and all the chairs are dirty!!!

The starter crispy calamari 10/10 but could do with a better sauce option. 8oz sirloin with peppercorn sauce and skin on chips 10/10 . My only issue is the music I felt like I was at a party not a restaurant. Radio adds and everything! Quite annoying if your on a date ...my dates food halloumi fries and 8oz sirloin stake his fries was nice but as I said there should be more of a sauce option his stake was 70% fat so he hardly had any of it . Drinks i had the sex on the beach which was nice .. the bill £52.67p

Came here as we had a power cut at home and we were passing through Farnborough. I had a "Signature Steak" - "All our steaks come from British and Irish farms. Matured for 30 days, they are extra tender and full of flavour". It sounds good but was the worst rib eye steak I've ever had? I asked for medium, but it was more like well-done! Though that wasn't the issue. It was very pale in appearance and if it wasn't for the sear marks, I could have sworn it was just a piece of boiled meat. I couldn't even say it was steak let alone rib-eye steak. The restaurant was very quiet. The chips were okay and freshly cooked, but the rib eye steak was terrible and I'm sure it wasn't freshly cooked - likely par cooked then microwaved.🤬 Definitely won't be coming back.
Nigel O — Google review
Immediately asked if there were any allergens (which there were) and shown QR code for appropriate menu. Quite extensive too. Swift service (it was a quiet Wednesday evening) with good service from Amy. The food was tasty (thanks Jack) and just enough too. Used a discount code when paying which was accepted with no issues.
Marcos M — Google review
We visit this place for dinner quite often, it is a favourite. We always get excellent food, and excellent service. There is a good range of dishes available, but I always have steak and salad. It is always cooked perfectly and they obviously have a good butcher. We both always enjoy the range of deserts.
Peter K — Google review
The meal deal is incredible value for money to be honest, I will say the fried chicken burger is really nice, it surprised me! Lewis (and another guy, sorry I don’t know his name) have both been very attentive and friendly. I had my meal deal paid for by work but that meant I couldn’t tip, so got a bottle of water or a dessert that I could be charged a bit extra for which then meant I could tip them as it felt unfair for them to not be tipped when they’ve both been so great. 🙂 Only thing preventing a 5* is a lot of the chairs and carpets need replacing as they’re showing their age now.

Took my husband here for breakfast for his birthday. The cooked breakfast was hot and the continental breakfast was lovely. Lots of food to have. The waiter was friendly and did a good job keeping everything topped up.

Pub
Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the heart of town, The Tilly Shilling - JD Wetherspoon is a modern pub that opened its doors in 2011, paying tribute to Beatrice 'Tilly' Shilling, an influential figure from the nearby Royal Aircraft Establishment. She famously designed a carburetor modification that significantly enhanced the performance of Rolls Royce Merlin engines used by RAF fighters during World War II. Visitors can explore fascinating displays about her contributions and various aircraft within the pub.
This place offers incredible value without compromising on quality. You'll find delicious meals, tasty ales, and fine wines at prices that will amaze you. I'm a regular here, drawn by their excellent breakfast. The food is always cooked to perfection, and the service is consistently friendly and efficient. For added convenience, you can order your meal through the app. The Tilly Shilling doesn't start serving alcohol until 9am. Personally, I prefer to wait until the sun is high in the sky before indulging (unless I'm at the airport). One of the best perks is the unlimited tea and coffee. It's a fantastic deal that makes this place even more appealing. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Beautifully Spoon's in homage to the great Spitfire....... propeller, blueprint, wartime memorabilia (even the door handles are old Spitfire controls!) Make it on your list to come see this place and savour! Lovely staff and great breakfast to boot!!
Simonblonde — Google review
What great wetherspoons. Clean tidy brilliant friendly staff. Service was quick. Just a really nice spoons and only about a 7 minute walk from the train station. It's definitely worth a visit.
Louise — Google review
Value is the key here. Meals aim for burgers and pizzas, but other choices are there. Steak Tuesday has been abandoned, a pity, but meat was not always that tender. If you love real ale this is staggeringly good value, and cask ales change regularly. Roughly 10 are available, 6 regulars and 4 are replaced every 3 days or so. Tasting notes always available. Beer prices under half that elsewhere. Not a lager man but plenty there for them who are. Clientele can be a bit dubious at times, but value wins. Small breakfast with unlimited coffee for less than £4 is a good example.
David D — Google review
Cheap food and drinks but nevertheless food came out fresh, hot and tasted great. Excellent value on food and drinks. Staff were great and coped well with the fast paced orders. Overall I would recommend to others.

A great homage to the immortal Spitfire......old propeller, blueprints, war-time memorabilia, even door handles were old Spitfire controls! Take a detour and see this place, it's worth the experience. Oh yes, plus the staff are warm and friendly and the breakfast is top noche!

WOW won't be going again every other table was full of plates carpet disgusting bits of food everywhere. Tables dirty left a bottle of cleaning fluid on our table asked politely if she could please clean the table as it was really dirty. Told " I'm the only person on the floor I can remove the bottle but I'm not cleaning the table" Okay so they are letting customers eat of a extremely dirty table and received attitude of her. Disgusting place
Natalie L — Google review
Very good value for money this place and is quite large indoors, with a lot of outdoor seating area. For 3 main meals, which was fish chips and peas, along with lasagne, and along with ham, egg x2 and, chips, all with a drink, each came to 25 pound plus. The only disadvantage about this place I found and it's the second time I have been here. Is the parking as it's on a main road? And you have to park round the corner, either in a private car park or the Sainsbury's car park, the best and cheapest place to park. Is in the multi-story car park, and that costs 1 pound 50 for the day. I found very quick service today. On a Sunday which was busy at the time. And has a disabled toilet, along with normal toilets.

The cafe has garnered praise for its friendly and helpful staff, as well as its clean and inviting atmosphere. Customers appreciate the generous portion sizes and value for money, making it a go-to spot for breakfast.
Customised our food & they did it perfectly. Very friendly & speedy. Good prices & yes highly recommend!!

Unfortunately it repeatedly happens that my usual breakfast order of omelette cheese is becoming smaller in size after few months of visiting here in mornings; it is smaller with about 30% !! Customers are numbers on papers (or electronical systems) same as employees these days. Pathetic country nowadays is the "United Kingdom", with "united" being just at themselves as selfishness usually is and numbers only being seen and nothing else, as said above. If it happens again i will AVOID and eventually NOT come to this place and let the "happy" reviewers continue to be liked in this place....As all that matters these days to a business are numbers in customers NOT the quality of the service of the servicing of ALL customers Good day

The food is absolutely delicious, it’s clearly the best cafe in the area, the staff are so friendly as well. Great experience

Declined to give what i requested many times in the past that lady at the counter. She wouldn't tell why but talk something in their language when i was waiting for an alternative order. Hope I'll change to another place when i find and encourage other people to give simila realistic reviews, not fake or pretend reviews. Good day.

Popped in for a late breakfast. Staff very nice, menu is clear and precise and fairly priced for the location. Looks like they have had a bit of a refurbishment and I must admit, it looks pretty nice. Very clean also (hope they keep it this way).

McDonald's is a beloved fast-food institution that has been serving up its iconic burgers and fries for decades. Nestled on the outskirts of Farnborough, this location offers a unique twist as it occupies what was once the historic Tumbledown Dick pub. While reaching it on foot can be a bit tricky, it's easily accessible by car, complete with a drive-thru option for those on the go. The restaurant features modern ordering systems via screens or mobile devices, ensuring quick service.
**McDonald's (formerly the Tumbledown Dick)** Once a historic pub, the Tumbledown Dick is now a McDonald's, providing an ultra-processed hamburger fix. Situated on Farnborough's edge, access by foot isn't the easiest, but it's convenient by car. Located on a main road with a drive-thru, parking is limited. Orders are placed on screens or phones, with a small service hatch for assistance. Inside, there's a variety of seating options from benches to high tables for two. Additional seating and toilets are available upstairs. The staff keep the place tidy, ensuring clean tables and general areas. Come on visit Farnborough, even if it's just for the McDonald's
Terry R — Google review
No options available it's cdonakds and, they don't have 50 percent of there menu whilst hiking the prices up avoid use Swaythling. Do not go in they prioritise drive through 45 min wait
David M — Google review
As McDonalds go this is actually a fairly good one, obviously my burger didn’t look anything like the picture, but that is just standard from a Maccy D’s. My only complaint was that the fries weren’t full, this is just annoying and something that should just happen naturally especially as they cost them nothing in the first place. Staff were friendly, the place was clean, they even had some fairly cool furniture including a sofa by the window that was actually quite comfy.
Pub R — Google review
Went for breakfast. Bacon egg muffin and sausage egg muffin. Both tasted as bad as the shoes I was wearing. Dry and tough as if they were reheated from the day before.
Nigel B — Google review
order my meal as a table service , waited for 20 min and the food was in counter, already cold. I asked one of the manager for exchange with the warm one, made me wait for 5 min and gave me the same food. I was being polite even my order was 20 min late, they don't even hesitate to say sorry once.. i worked in mac too, never treatedany guest like a slave... lazy and ameture service i ever seen in my life
Aakash R — Google review
Dry fries(not fresh), not hot enough cheese bites, taste of flour instead of cheese. Bigmacs and coffees were okay, but regular Carmel iced frappe was rather small than medium - bellow the line in the cup. Really bad 👎 specially that always it was perfect. Hopefully it's just one off situation.
Albert ( — Google review
Went inside for sone food. The table service numbers were not next to the order machines, so i guess there's no table service here. There was an error with the machine, so it didn't print out my receipt; Three quarters of the resteraunt was barricaded off, despite it being a Saturday night, so very limited seating choices, and the cup of coke was only three quarters full, so feel ripped off. The only good things were the burger and chips, which were well made, but everything else from my experience was very poor. I won't be going back to this branch again.
Spartas E — Google review
Food missing from order. Burgers were all empty apart from the burger and cheese. Food not nice, but dry and flavourless.

Costa Coffee is a beloved counter-service coffee chain that offers an array of hot beverages, iced coolers, sweet treats, and sandwiches. Known for its inviting atmosphere, it’s a popular spot among college students and shoppers alike. The staff at Costa Coffee are dedicated to providing exceptional service; one customer praised Andrew, the store manager, for his thorough explanations about their drinks and his friendly demeanor.
Visited Costa this morning to try their new seasonal range. Andrew store manager was amazing, he explained all the new drinks to me and recommended some, he even checked back to make sure I was enjoying my drink. Great service, Thanks Andrew I’ll be back!

Fresh pastries and coffee in a clean coffee house. Quiet atmosphere with attentive staff. They work had to try and get people served quickly. Happy to bespoke your drink without question.
Mark P — Google review
Andrew (Store Manager) absolutely amazing! I have drank the same coffee for years (flat white extra shot) and have never had it explained to me that the first double shot in the flat white will be different to the extra. He took the time to clearly explain the difference in each of the shots and how they affect the drink. He was really friendly and informative, never had service like this from a barista. Thanks Andrew!
Mark S — Google review
Regular customer. Much improved cleanliness and service from staff over the last few days. Quality of coffee remains to a high standard. Well worth a visit .
Paul S — Google review
It's a fairly typical Costa. Coffee is always hot. There is generally somewhere to sit but not always because it's full of college students with nowhere else to be. Convenient to shops. And close to motorway. Pain in the royal butt for getting out of though.
Damien M — Google review
Holy smoke, is this place filthy! I would understand if there were lots of customers. The place is barely crowded. Lazy and unfriendly staff will greet you with coffee that is bland. I ordered latte with extra shot. Nevertheless, I cannot feel much coffee. My experience with this Costa is overall horrible. Do not come here if you’re looking for decent coffee. Do not come here if you care about hygiene.

Starbucks Coffee, the iconic Seattle-based coffeehouse chain, is a haven for caffeine lovers and casual visitors alike. Known for its signature roasts and light bites, this cozy spot also offers complimentary WiFi, making it perfect for both work and relaxation. During my recent visit, I was greeted by the friendly barista Ashley who took my order with a smile. While waiting at the counter, I chatted with manager Maria about her wonderful team that day.
I popped in for a coffee this afternoon and after I'd gotten my order I dropped my car key into my cup of coffee. The lovely baristas helped me retrieve it, cleaned it up for me and made me a new coffee! I visit this Starbucks every few weeks and am always met by friendly staff, but today they really went above and beyond.

I was waiting to be served. Ignored me for 10 secs but maybe they did not see me. I asked what the drink tastes like, was met with 'I don't know I don't drink coconut' sarcastic tone. I asked for regular . She asked what size, I repeated , and looked like she was holding her anger. Mess on the floor . No stocks. And busy chatting. Otherwise the drink was very tasty but shame about the very rude service by the young lady.
Bhawana M — Google review
The guy serving is so rude here, he has no customer skills and the place could do with a clean. The girl seems to do the work and English isn’t great but she is pleasant enough Worse thing is random people use the seating outside to smoke and they are not customers

Filthy! Absaloutly disgusting. Floors were covered in filth and spilled drinks. I almost slipped myself, and with a bad hip - could have been a real disaster! Staff need to be ontop of floors, sweeping and mopping but instead, they were content with chatting to some friends who were hanging out and messing around at the collection counter. All of the high chairs, were caked in food and drink and goodness knows what. Clearly not been cleaned in a long long time. The chairs were just as bad. There was so much out of stock too. Staff just used their time to hang out with friends, messing around. Paint all chipped too. It's I. Desperate need to a deep clean and touch up! It was such a waste of money and time. Awful experience. Never returning

Really nice little cafe with great food and service. The best in Farnborough. Outdoor seating for warmer days and very clean. They both smoked outside next to the entrance so wasn't pleasant when walking in. When the same lady came in from her cigarette break, the cafe was stinking of cigarettes.... yuk. Average food.

Bridge Road Cafe is a charming local spot with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe offers fresh and delicious breakfast options, with the possibility of customizing items. While the outdoor seating is perfect for warmer days, the indoor space can be limited during peak times. The staff is friendly and provides top-notch service, although it can be slow when busy. Vegetarian options are plentiful, making it an excellent choice for those with dietary preferences.
On a welding job found this cafe open on a Sunday great , there's a guy on the till a bit grumpy & looks Al Pacion , fresh hot and very reasonably price , had brunch & late lunch , see pics , cheer up Al xx

We have been many times for a fry up. The staff are great and hubby loves the food. I am not a fry up fan so only for stars from me, but really good for what it is. I like the atmosphere in here. The sky lines ceiling and the lake photo on each side wall give it a slightly different flair to your usual cafe

* visit again March 2024* Had full breakfast with black pudding. All cooked really well. Crispy bacon. Runny egg. Very big portion of chips and beans. And I left my wallet on table and they put it behind the desk for me to collect couple hours later. Currently not open as a restaurant in the evening as of 19/10/19 Breakfast was good.. Eggs were perfect. Black pudding and mushrooms on the side were splendid. Not a lot on offer for my vegan gf so she just had beans on toast no butter.

Ordered a Full English with Chips at Bridge Road Cafe - Crispy Chips and Hash browns with average but tasty bacon and sausages. Decent eggs and runny beans with a side of underdone toast. Food Rating: 6.6 Overall: 7.5

Deli
Cafe Deli is a charming spot with plenty of seating and a diverse menu. They offer an array of cooked dishes, breakfast options, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salads, and fresh deli items. The Tandoori chicken & salad sandwich is particularly recommended for its generous fillings and delicious taste. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming.
What a delightful place! The menu choice is quite big and reasonably priced. I had a Tandoori chicken & salad sandwich and I was blown away by the size of the sandwich and the fresh generous fillings. Needless to say it was very delicious. I think it's honestly the largest sandwich I've ever eaten :) The staff were very friendly and helpful too. Despite being a local it's the first time I've got round to visiting Cafe Deli and certainly won't be the last time - I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Love the generous breakfasts which come with a nice hot drink of your choice. They are always helpful and friendly. My 17 month old daughter enjoys eating in there with me for lunch!

We were down in Farnborough for the weekend visiting Legoland and were looking for somewhere to grab a quick breakfast before heading to the park. Cafe Deli was our first choice and it turned out to be brilliant. The food was served within no time at all after ordering and our breakfast rolls tasted great and definitely set us up for the day at Legoland. There is definitely no aires or graces with Cafe Deli just a clean, tidy traditional cafe that is perfect for anytime of day.

The Asda Farnborough Superstore is a large and well-stocked retail location with a wide variety of products. The store is known for its friendly and helpful staff, as well as its convenient parking facilities. While some customers have experienced issues with long wait times at the checkout, others appreciate the store's extended opening hours and the availability of self-checkout options. Additionally, the location's proximity to a shopping center makes it a convenient choice for many shoppers.
Steph and the team Jo, Jackie , Natasha etc are always very helpful. My son has been using this opticians now for 3 years nearly and we have always had fantastic service. I always recommend this opticians. It's not as chaotic as Specsavers. Always get the best advice. Would definitely recommend. Thank you everyone who works there.

ordered uber eats, had brought all the items for nachos - i’m talking salsa, sour cream, cheese sauce, mince, nacho seasoning the whole shabang. double checked it was on replace not refund, arrived and my nachos have been refunded. there has got to be at least 10 different variations of tortilla chips in this store ffs the most important ingredient

Asda Superstore is my go-to spot for grocery shopping. The store is spacious, well-stocked, and usually really clean. I love how easy it is to find everything I need, and the prices are very reasonable. This makes shopping a breeze. However, I did have a less-than-great experience at the post office inside the store. The staff there seemed quite grumpy and rude, which was disappointing compared to the rest of the store’s friendly atmosphere. Overall, Asda is a great place to shop, and I’ll definitely be back.
Mark B — Google review
The parking there is a scam. There is barely any sign for paying for parking and it turns out you have to pay, we shopped at both hobby craft and Asda and now I have received a parking fine of £60. Unbelievable!

Called in on Thursday June 6 2025 at approximately 12:50 and needed to go to customer services to try and solve a small but concerning issue that in all honesty was of my own doing. The lady on the desk was fantastic(Illysa, I think her name was and apologies if spelt incorrectly), she was of a very pleasant friendly nature and she solved my issue with no fuss whatsoever and enabled that I left with the weight of my problem totally lifted. This lady is a credit to your company and because of her nature we will certainly be visiting again.

Just received a £60 after visiting a couple of weeks back. had no idea it was paid parking until the PCN arrived. I went back a week later so I'm expecting ANOTHER £60 fine or worse. Outrageous.

Very big store in Farnborough with a wide range of products. The store is well stocked and every member of staff is very busy merchandising. All areas are clearly marked and shelves are clean and organized The tills are well managed with assistance at hand at self checkouts Good parking and extended opening hours is a convenience for for working people
Suganthini M — Google review
Went shopping here and bought £70 worth of items including a cheap Kettle for £13.85 I walked to the car and my daughter was walking behind me with the kettle and some other shopping ... as she left the store the security gates went off ... The security guy came outside to me and said I needed to prove to him that the kettle my daughter was carrying was paid for .... This was embarrassing as there were people all around us . I said I thought he could have phased things more tactfully only to be told by this security man that if I was unhappy I should have told the store staff to remove the hidden security tags from the box ...Wow . It would have been nice to have had some help in store but there were actually no staff in the self service area when we paid for our entire order . we showed him our receipt in front of people who had gathered around ... he struggled to find the kettle and some while later he identified it was there on the receipt this only made matters more embarrassing as it seemed he could mot identify our products on the receipt smoothly Asda you may have a problem with steeling at your store but your staff's courtesy was terrible and we did not like the way this was handled at all .. rude and embarrassing ... we will go elsewhere in future
