Breakfast restaurant
Northpoint Café, a charming spot near the beach in St Andrews, gained fame as a favorite meeting place of Prince William and Kate Middleton during their university days. The bustling and cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for casual study sessions or lazy brunches with friends. Their breakfast menu offers freshly baked scones, tea, and an extravagant breakfast burrito, while the lunch menu includes soups, panini, and toasted bagels.
I absolutely love this place! The portions are generous, especially considering the price. I am gluten intolerant and there are gluten free substitutes for pancakes and toasties (bread) and for gluten free products they are very good. I had a halloumi chorizo toastie which came with homemade soup, salad and chips-not fries but potato chips/crisps. I also had a mocha which was very good. The soup was very cosy and comforting and my sister had pancakes, beans, bacon, sausage and eggs which were all very good. I really recommend coming here the staff is very friendly. It was crowded because it’s a popular place so we had to wait but not long only 5-10 minutes. They also have delicious cakes, I’ve heard positive things about the carrot cake and the hot chocolate.
Ondine S — Google review
I had lunch here with my friends and we absolutely loved it! The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was bustling yet cosy. The food was delicious, with vegan options available. I tried both the bagel and the toasties, and they were both fantastic. The meal was also quite affordable. I’d definitely love to come back again sometime!

We were visiting St Andrews for a day trip from Stirling and walked around town. We found out that this was where Prince William and Kate met. It had good reviews and we went for lunch. It is a casual cafe and busy. Our server was nice. Our food and drinks were good.
Catherine H — Google review
Well worth a visit. Not pretentious in any way. I chose cappuccino and a bacon roll. Both were hot and delicious and only £6.75. The bacon was crispy just how I like it. Thank you 👍
Andrew P — Google review
This was our first time in St.Andrews and the reviews for this place were really good. When we arrived the staff were very helpful with finding us a seat, especially as the cafe was very busy. We sat outside and, apart from the wasps, the atmosphere was good. We were both really excited to try the American brunch. The pancakes and bacon were great. The eggs, however, ruined our experience. We’re having putting it into words, but they were soft, hard, watery, overcooked, undercooked, and rubbery all at once. We’re not sure how they managed it.
Rebecca T — Google review
Food is simple and usually good but can be hit or miss; drinks can be quite good. My issue is that almost every time I have been I’ve left feeling uneasy because the staff have usually been very rude. The students who work there are usually nice but with others I haven’t had good experiences.
Aishling O — Google review
Great range of food and drinks. Coffee was a great price.
Big D — Google review
I gotta be honest it was really grubby, I don’t mind it being mismatched and quirky but it was actually filthy. The food I was served was like prison food, worst quality cheap flavourless ingredients and when I reached for salt and pepper it was dust and greasy. My cup and teapot was also so stained and nasty and I went to go to the bathroom but changed my mind when I saw the state of it 😭 please guys you have such a gem there’s no need for it to be this shameful

Bridgeview Station Restaurant is a modern European eatery housed in a converted Victorian station, offering stunning estuary views through its large windows. Since its establishment in 2014, this modern British restaurant has garnered high praise for its beautifully presented dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The inventive cuisine and delectable desserts cater to various budgets, with a lunchtime menu available as well. It's considered a hidden gem in Dundee, providing an exceptional dining experience.
Staff were friendly, the place was perfectly kitted out as a station theme & the food was great! No pictures of the food because we were so excited by the smells that when it came we couldn't resist gobbling it all up! 😍 We all had a Bacon, Tattie Scone & Black Pudding Roll! 😋

Lovely place for lunch and a coffee. Beautiful view out to the river and the bridge. The ambiance is lovely. The art on the wall really brings the atmosphere together. We had sandwiches and coffee, and it was spectacular. The coffee is really good. Servers were nice and friendly, clean facilities and overall great experience 👍 They also have a great selection of sweets! I will be back

Mid-week lunch. Restaurant and outsideseating area was fairlybusy. After seating it took around 20minutes to have our order taken. This was followed by a long wait before we actually received our meal. The fish platter was rather underwhelming in both taste, quantity and presentation. The flat iron steak baguette was disappointing. The steak was slightly under cooked, fatty, and tough to cut - no steak knives available. The chips had been replaced by fried potato chunks. After finishing our mains our empty plates remained before us for a long time, even after we had attracted the attention of a server that we were finished. Coffee ordered, coffee did not come. We ended up chasing it up at the counter, where there was piles of dirty crockery waiting ... the excuse for the delay in our receiving our coffee. This was indeed a lunch to forget. We will not be returning.
Mr D — Google review
First time being here for food, the restaurant itself is is nice and very modern. Staff were very friendly and the overall service was great. Food was absolutely amazing (best steak sandwich I’ve ever had). Will definitely be back, and will be highly recommending this place to friends and family.
Scott C — Google review
I stopped in for a coffee and breakfast. The staff were friendly, seating me right away and taking my order when I was ready. The Americano and full breakfast both hit the spot, setting me up for the day! I enjoyed a (slow) walk back along the river front afterwards, where the water was calm like glass. Look forward to another visit soon!
Vega T — Google review
View is good. The Chef forgot to add spinach to a dish described as pollock with chickpeas and spinach. Or may be one sliver of spinach qualified for the description, butbto me it was even smaller than a sliver one would add as garnish ! Gluten free carrot cake just like the ones found most places in Scotland, but I would go again in good weather for the view and the nearby river walk.
Mika C — Google review
The location and ambience were very good. Lovely views and interesting layout and decor. Staff were generally friendly and it was busy but we waited a bit longer for attention than I would have expected. Fish was perfectly cooked and a good portion. We received potato slices rather than chips (I may have missed this on the menu but they were not as good as traditional chips). We also asked if soft drinks were draft and were told all were canned, which surprised us when we had to send them back for being flat. Not something you often get with canned drinks. Overall - quite good and we will probably return but a couple of little things that could help reach 4 or 5 stars.
Andrew W — Google review
Had lunch here today and was really impressed with the quality of service and food. Service was as expected with such a volume of customers on a busy lunch service so be patient and the wait will be worthwhile. Lovely haddock fish cakes, a Pastrami NY style bloomer sandwich and a portion of hand cut chips were all generous portions and cooked to perfection. Cakes looked excellent too but didn’t have room after our mains. Will definitely be back.

British restaurant
Bankhead Gate Brewers Fayre is a laid-back family pub and restaurant chain that offers classic dishes and international favorites. The Head Chef recommends the classic Mixed Grill or famous Smothered Chicken, which are among the most popular meals on the menu. For dessert, guests can indulge in sweet treats like Triple Chocolate Brownie or Caramel Apple Betty. Visitors have praised the fabulous breakfast buffet with a fantastic range of options including cereals, fruit, and a full Scottish breakfast.
Lovely family restaurant with added bonus of indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids. Food is cheap and cheerful good quality for the cost. All you can eat Breakfast buffet was varied and satisfying and it was a nice touch that you could have a continental only option as well. Services was good staff all friendly greeted us on arrival and made sure to say thank you and good by when we left. Free parking if you register on the tablet at the welcome desk was an added bonus.
Kelly — Google review
Me and my colleague came here because we were staying in the premier inn next door. We wouldn’t be in a rush to go back unless in a similar situation. The service was okay, nothing above and beyond. My food was forgotten about and despite ordering before the people around me, it came out a while after theirs after asking where it had got to. The portion sizes were really small too considering I’d spent over £20 on my meal and side. You can see by the photos that the quality of the ‘Smothered Chicken’ isn’t something anyone would want to be served. I expected at least 1 regular piece of bacon on the top, but instead I got that tiny bit. The garlic bread tasted like it had just been defrosted and the chips were good, it’s a shame there was only a handful of them. The mac n cheese bites were also surprisingly nice. The toilets were, ok.
Brad — Google review
After Booking a meal deal at the premier Inn next door. (Brewer's fayre Restaurant). I was told that I couldn't add chicken to my burrito bowl. As it would incur a supplement. Which I was told by the manager this isn't listed on the menu but we charge for it here. I found this a little bit odd because I'd stopped in the premier Inn in Glasgow the night before and it didn't incur a supplement. Don't get me wrong but the food was good, the staff were lovely l but when you're paying when £26.99 for a meal deal, you expect a little bit more for your money considering a burrito bowl is only £10.29 and breakfast is £10.99 A pint is £4:45. Who's winning? Not me....
Jay S — Google review
Lovely place, clean, spacious and caters for kids with a large, free sftplay area. The food was good with a decent menu but I ordered the curry and was left hungry. The portion size was ridiculously small with very little chicken and a watery sauce and some rice. I've been before and had much better meals for the same price.
Dale M — Google review
Didnt bother ordering. Menu is very poor. Whoever it was serving was rude, and more interested in serving alcohol than serving customers waiting to order food for a family. Nice one brewers fayre. Safe to say we won't be back.
Lesley F — Google review
Food was good. Good staff and helpful.
Calvin G — Google review
Our association block booked tables here for our breakfast. We found the self service breakfast to be ok. There was a large selection of hot food available including continental style food and you can eat as much or as little as you required so, it was good value for money. It did get busier the longer we stayed.
Berglas71 — Google review
Would def recommend! Food was hot and tasty we ordered 4 fish and chips which arrived quickly. Indoor play area for children and comfortable seating at tables. Unlike a lot of places it is spacious and staff very friendly.

East Pier is a popular seafood restaurant in the seaside town of St Monans, East Neuk. The menu offers mouth-watering dishes such as hot-smoked sea bass, fish tacos and lobster with tarragon mayonnaise. There's also a great selection of white wines and locally brewed IPAs to enjoy on the restaurants' sunny rooftop.
Best smoked salmon and chips we've ever had. It's our second visit here and we will return every time we're in Fife. It's worth booking ahead though as its very busy during the summer season.
Helen H — Google review
We got great weather and enjoy our seat outside. However the food standard didn’t match the expectation or price. With the fish and chips we were served oven processed chips, we were told after complaining they had ran out of hand cut chips during lunch service. If we had been told before ordering we would have definitely changed the order. We were still charged full price for both our fish and chips which was disappointing and poor service. As you can see below we also had the scallop starter which was £15 for 2 scallops
Lucy S — Google review
Amazing food, I recommend the Vietnamese fish kebab, it was amazing, tender, full of flavour and not overcooked! The scallops were so fresh. We are sitting in one of the tables outdoor under the porch admiring the coast. This is a very special place.
Katia M — Google review
We had a great experience and will definitely return the next time we visit the East Neuk. We sat outside and it was a lovely and peaceful atmosphere. The food (shared starters then main course) was very special, and delicious. Lovely drinks, stunning views. Got 2 x kids fish and chips which were perfect for 8 and 11 year old. The service was friendly, warm and efficient, but we never ever felt rushed. Thank you, and we will be back!
Emma B — Google review
Mostly this a note on reservations. I looked at the website multiple times, and it looked like they were only required for dinner. But when we showed up for lunch, they said it was reservation only. We ate in the outside area. It was ok weather, so it was still a nice lunch. The food is very tasty. But it would have been more pleasant to eat inside. (There's a lot of seaweed flies outside.) I peaked upstairs before and after our meal, the inside dining room was half empty both times. So it wasn't so much a matter of being fully booked. I think it's more that the reservation is just required to sit inside. So long story short -- make reservations for lunch. I think you will enjoy it much more.
Cara S — Google review
We came for lunch and the food was lovely. We had the mackerel pate and the roasted octopus - amazing! For mains we had the whole Lobster Thermidor 🦞 with chips and smoked king prawns 🍤 . The taste was unique on the smoked prawns but the Asian dip was nice 👌🏼. It gets busy so always best to book as they do not take walk ins x The staff are attentive and very friendly x

The Cocoa Tree Shop is a great cafe with delicious food and amazing chocolates. The service is excellent, and the outside area is very cosy. I'm dairy, soy and lactose free, so this place is perfect for me! The pea milk was also a great new addition to the menu - it's really tasty. If only it were closer to home!
We love visiting this little chocolate shop when in the area, but for the first time over the festive break, I tried one of their hot chocolates, and oh my goodness, why have I not had one before, gorgeous. The staff are so friendly in here it really is why I love coming back, but their selection of hand made chocolates and flavours are irresistible. We love being able to support small local independent businesses and this is why we love the East Neuk of Fife so much, there are so many wonderful crafters in the area, so this is one you 100% won’t want to miss and treat yourself to.
Lee_a _ — Google review
Visited this lovely cafe for hot drinks only on this occasion. The Cocoa Tree Shop serves one of the best mocha and hot chocolate you can find on the east coast of Scotland. It's slightly more expensive compared with other cafes but definitely worth it, and strongly recommended to visit if in this area. There is an inside and outdoor area. Both spaces offer quite limited sitting places, and any groups larger than 4 would probably find it difficult to sit together. On the day of my visit the staff showed much more patience to dogs than kids, but still being quite polite and friendly.
Marcin — Google review
We stopped in for scones and tea. It’s an old favourite. The scones are freshly baked, including the gluten free scone my partner had. Delicious. The highlight is the homemade raspberry jam which should be savoured. I had the hot chocolate with rose which is my guilty pleasure. The milkshakes are made properly too. I’ve had lunch in the past and enjoyed it too. It’s also a great place for present chocolate buying. It’s not cheap but you feel welcome, the shop is always interesting and the setting cosy.
James N — Google review
Lovely little chocolate shop. Great little cafe hidden out the back. It’s also the most reliable place for the key. We had coffee and Crepes Monsieur. Nice coffee and nice crepes. Very friendly and helpful team. Nice relaxing place for a bite to eat.

Delicious food, I had the brie and cranberry focaccia roll, highly recommend it the brie was melted perfectly and the cranberries had a lovely sweetness. So many options for sweet and savoury, my sister had a cheese and ham crepes and she really enjoyed them. The staff were lovely aswell the aesthetic of this place is nice aswell.

Outstanding gem of a place. Lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and absolutely delicious food! Will be coming back again. Would recommend the bean soup. Oh, and they’ve chocolate too.

The best hot chocolate in the world! It’s honestly SO good, I’m happy to drink it on a hot day in July! The cafe is just wonderful - everything I’ve tried is good and I’ve tried everything! Delicious breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea. You can’t go wrong. And then you can buy chocolates from the shop to try at the table or take home. Can I give this place six stars please Google?
Lorna B — Google review
We had a morning coffee and cake. The waffle was very nice, crispy and soft. The chocolate sauce was the right balance of sweet and bitter cocoa. You can also get a key to a local cave nearby.

The Bach is a trendy and laid-back bar bistro that pays homage to New Zealand, offering a global influence on its cafe fare. The name "Bach" reflects its Kiwi roots, meaning a holiday getaway home. The menu features craft coffee, rock star flavors, and diverse brunch options such as Eggs Benedict, kedgeree, corn fritters, and coconut-lime waffles.
Big up to Jonty for making our lunch date enjoyable. He provided great recommendations and the food was spectacular. The beer with the mango essence was a killer as well. Will come back again :)
Vignesh R — Google review
The Bach is located in the city centre, but parking is a bit far—so be ready for a short walk. The interior is well-designed and inviting, with a dog-friendly setup and seating options that work for everyone. I tried one of their smoothies, which was really good. However, for an Indian palate, I found the food a bit bland. Also, if you ask for a dip or sauce, they charge an extra pound, which felt a bit much. That said, the overall experience was positive—especially for first-timers who enjoy exploring new cuisines. Portion sizes were decent too
Abby S — Google review
I visited this spot on 3rd September and I have to say, I was really impressed. The vibe of the place is so chill and cozy. It’s the kind of atmosphere where you can just relax and enjoy your meal. The interior is also really well done, giving it an inviting feel. If you're ever looking for a place to unwind, this is definitely one to check out. I decided to try their Fried Vegan Breakfast and wow, the spread was amazing. Every element was fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. Just a heads-up, though, they do charge a little extra if you want bread with your breakfast, which was a bit of a surprise, but still worth it for the quality. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering something for everyone, but keep in mind the prices are a bit on the steeper side. Still, if you’re into exploring different cuisines and appreciate a cozy dining experience, it’s totally worth it. Overall, it was a really good experience and I will definitely be back to try more of their offerings. If you love discovering new places and enjoy tasty, well-prepared meals, this one’s a gem!

Came here for lunch, we were advised it would take about 30 minutes to get our food as it was pretty much full. We ordered the Cabbie burger and the French Toast, we also recieved a complimentary taster from the dinner menu that was pork (forgot the actual name but the man who served us it was very lovely and did fully explain the dish). All the food was delicious, no notes. We also had an iced chai latte and an iced mocha, also delicious and also no notes. The Bach is the best place in town in regards to having a variety of food for brunch, it is incredibly busy often for a reason!
Hannah B — Google review
Full disclosure before I start - I'm a Kiwi, so I'm a little biased about this wonderful gem. Dundee, you are so lucky to have this cafe. The menu was so varied that it was hard to decide. They take brunch seriously here, and that's reflected in their offerings. My korean fried chicken was delicious and served on a light cornmeal waffle. I loved the touch of pickled veges. Coffee's were great. On top of that, they've got a range of Kiwi treats on offer as well. The Bach ppl - if you're reading this, please know you're awesome. If there was one thing that jarred, it was the music choice. Nirvana at 10am on a Thursday wasn't quite the vibe we were expecting. Bring on Fat Freddys and crowded house (or, you know, a little more chill). ❤️
Anna A — Google review
Beware, the menu changes late afternoon. I came with a menu item in mind only to have missed the option by 20 minutes! The evening menu provides a good range of choices. So my Morrocan Carrots and Sweet Potato Fries substituted to provide an interesting range of tastes. The Spirulina cold drink went well with the food. The capuccino is the best I've tried in Dundee... so far!

Giggling because google didn’t suggest this place. Now seeing the reviews, we are the ignorant and can confirm well worth a visit. We stumbled in tonight (Friday) and were so pleasantly surprised with the quality across the board. Kiwis did it right. Tomahawk was the star, everything else also delish. Atmosphere is a bit odd but you can actually hear each other and it all works. Very much enjoyed!!!

Booked a table for 8pm. Arrived and was seated on time. Starter appeared around 8.35…..main course at 9.40…..green slop Thai curry, bland, hardly any rice. Waiting staff were very apologetic and kept explaining that delay was down to it being Saturday evening, and a full restaurant!!! Imagine that!? More fool me. That’s three times I’ve found this place lacking.
Graham D — Google review
Saturday lunchtime cafe very quiet but still took time to place order after given menus from surly waitress. Drinks order not taken and no jug of water as usually happens. My order of whipped feta in filo with fries turned up as mushroom bruschetta with no fries! As my husband's burger was correct I just accepted this so we could eat together. Manager said mix up was because it was a new menu which I found hard to believe. 20% off food bill but as a regular customer I found the whole experience very disappointing.

The most lovely staff I’ve ever met. The waiters were so friendly and kind and the atmosphere inside was one of community and warmth. Such a lovely place to go for brunch, helped by the beautiful colour scheme and aesthetic.

We had a lovely lunch here. Food was great and the place is very nice and cozy. Service as well, everything came quick and were attentive. Thanks Rosie for being so friendly!
Alba T — Google review
The food was delicious with decent portions. However, the service was less than stellar as we sat outside but no one came to take our order so we had to go to the register ourselves.
Vedika — Google review
The place was quite small but nice nonetheless, the staff very friendly and helpful even though there was a lot going on. The food arrived quite quickly and other than the cake, nothing tasted that good. The mac n cheese was just some noodles with butter really. The sandwiches were very plain too. Bottom line: coffee and cake is great, everything else not worth it.
Monika G — Google review
The atmosphere was really nice, however the food was pretty basic, small portions for the price as well. It was just ok. I would definitely come for brunch rather than lunch here though.
Zofia W — Google review
Excellent food, disappointing service. We had been notified that the sausage roll would take 20min, but a 35 min wait without apology was disappointing and really spoilt our schedule. They also ran out of clean teaspoons and never brought any out for the duration we were at the cafe (an hour). Overall seemed disorganised and understaffed.

a must visit if you are in st andrews. the service was kind and welcoming and gave us some lovely recommendations for the area. the scone was one of the best i‘ve ever had, just how a perfect scone is supposed to be. my mum said the coffee was great aswell, they do gorgeous latte art. thank you for a wonderful experience!

Four of us stopped in for breakfast. The service was friendly but pretty sporadic, probably as it was busy. The others told me their coffees were good and my tea was really good. The breakfasts were fine when they eventually arrived.

The menu also features innovative recipes such as shakshuka, bubble and squeak benny, Colombian eggs, and brioche French toast.
Fantastic service from the friendliest staff and another delicious breakfast helping get set up for the day ahead! Can’t recommend the ‘Bubble and Squeak Benny’ enough, but every dish hits the mark! Thanks for making my morning! ☕️

Really lovely brunch. The brioche toast though, could have more sauce on the side or on it. Still a great experience. Decent pricing also. First time trying bubble and squeak benny and I must say it was my favourite. Bursting of flavour.

Delicious food and coffee. Service was slow which was the only downside. Really cute wee place with a nice atmosphere. Will definitely come back again.

Worst experience. I was recommended to come here and I was extremely disappointed. We ordered two breakfasts. As vegetarians and that was made clear. I was given bacon on my plate. They took the bacon off and gave the plate back. It was unprofessional of them as they should have made a fresh plate. Got my food back and the eggs were so undercooked so changed my order. Partner didn’t eat his as the his eggs were extremely undercooked. Charged full price which was £41 even with a pathetic £4 taken off. We shouldn’t have been charged for at least one of the meals. Disappointed and do not recommend!
Kirsty S — Google review
Went for brunch as many recommended. Pastrami toastie had a tiny slither of pastrami. Poor value. Partner left feeling hungry. Haevos pacamara was bland. Coffee was alright. No seats inside. So happy to sit outside. Very wobbly bench & table. Better value tastier brunch options elsewhere.

Amazing place. We went there for breakfast on a Sunday. It was quite busy already. Unfortunately they only accept walk-ins. We were lucky that there were a few tables available. We had the waffles and brioche French toast. Delicious. Coffee was very good as well. Their cake selection looked great and we're yet to try them. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We're looking forward to going back.

Small interesting cafe by Perth road. Tried 2 dishes. Korean buttermilk fried chicken with Gochujang chili sauce. The waffles was made well with a certain crisp to it and wasn’t burnt. The sweetness of the honey waffles went well with the sweetness and spicyness of the fried chicken. Recommended to try! Whereas for the Beef burger. The beef patty was slightly over cooked but everything came well together. However, the rusted fries was however something you should get , it was fried perfectly and well seasoned!

Located on the corner of West Port, The West House has recently undergone a refurbishment and now boasts a new menu to complement its fresh look. With high table seating as well as regular tables, it welcomes everyone with its relaxed vibe. Students often frequent this spot due to its diverse and affordable menu that includes hearty burgers, fresh salads, and tasty wraps.
Amazing food & drink, attentive staff topped off with a lovely atmosphere. This wee gem of a cafe come restaurant is a must visit if you are staying in Dundee. 😍 Booking highly recommended as there were a few turned away while we were there. We were staying at the Central Travelodge and looking for breakfast. It is a little expensive but very much worth every penny. We had two breakfasts with drinks (see pics 😋) and it cost £26.40. If we stayed in Dundee we would definitely return. Thank you West House for a lovely experience. 😎

Went here on a deal with Itison so had a look at the reviews beforehand. Externally it doesn't look great and under normal circumstances would pass it by however we were surprised. Food was freshly prepared and tasty. Service was excellent and the young man and woman organising our food couldn't have been more helpful. Toilets were nice and clean. An enjoyable experience

Friendly service, it was really busy so that's always a good sign. Plenty of GF options. Really good pizza. 😋. I had goats cheese which was delicious. I would recommend this place for lunch or brunch.

I’ve visited West House a couple of times recently and it’s quickly becoming a favourite spot. The Ragu pasta was absolutely delicious, rich, hearty and full of flavour. I also came by for brunch with my dance society and had the chicken and bacon sandwich, which was really tasty and felt great value for money. The place itself has such a lovely, chilled vibe. The interior is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax with friends. On top of that, they have a really good selection of drinks at the bar. Overall, West House is a gem in Dundee with great food, great atmosphere and definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled across this wonderful cafe serving gf pizza and pasta using the find me gluten free app. It was very busy so we had a wee wait but it was well worth it for the absolutely delicious gluten free and dairy free half pizza I enjoyed with a small bowl of sweet potato, carrot and butternut squash soup. Only £10.75. It's the best gluten free pizza I've had in the ten years I've not been able to eat gluten. Staff are very friendly. Music was very loud and difficult to have a conversation when we first arrived as people were speaking loudly to be heard but by the end of the meal some people had left and the music was quieter so it was a lovely relaxing ambience and able to have a conversation.

Pizzas fuel photoshoots! Our team met for lunch ahead of a project in Dundee, sharing some very tasty pizzas and potato wedges. The ‘little hottie’ is a favourite! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere relaxing and easy to chat. Highly recommend a visit, whether you’re on a photoshoot or not!

Not much is open at 8am which posed a challenge as we were due to an event at 9am at the University. After our first option fizzled out, we happened across The West House. I had a great coffee and we really enjoyed the meal. The atmostphere was great and we really enjoyed the music (despite not knowing most of it). The staff were very pleasant and aware of why we were visiting so thoughtful in how they engaged us. We were able to eat quickly and make it out on schedule. Overall this was a great start to the day and I'll return again.

Had a fantastic meal for my daughter's 21st. Clean, smart modern surroundings, the food was fabulous. Service wasn't the fastest, but that made for a relaxing meal. It's a wine bar later in the evening so i recommend eating early as it livens up after 9pm.

We visited Empire State cafe a few times whilst visiting Dundee. It's the best coffee shop in the city and they have delicious food options! It'd be great if they could have air-con as it gets really hot during the summer.

Bowhouse, located in St. Monans, is a market hall housed in a former barn that has become a culinary hotspot in the East Neuk region of Fife. The monthly artisanal food-and-crafts bazaar at Bowhouse attracts visitors seeking seasonally driven bakes and locally produced goods. The establishment aims to connect local producers with customers, shortening the supply chain and creating a community for those passionate about food.
Bowhouse Market weekends are my fav weekends of the year. LOVE the variety and quality of vendors and their wares. Buying from small passionate sellers is an absolute joy. And it’s not full of fake “local” farm produce, like you’d find in some city markets. I come home with bags and bags of delicious food, drinks, beautiful ceramics (a mug a market), and a full belly from the food trucks. You can’t beat it!! I love to visit on both days because there are stalls that are only there for one of the days. Honestly, love love love this market!!!
Milli A — Google review
A good variety of craft, food & drink vendors within a nice venue. Live music is a nice touch. Worth a visit if visiting the popular towns along the fife coast.

Nice unusual place to stop for a break. A very tasty selection of beers amd ciders. Not sure how long it is there for but there was a very large art exhibition ? A few small places to buy different foods within The Bowhouse. Plenty of free parking. Customers toilets were nice and clean.
Steve A — Google review
Very disappointed with our visit. Baern café was shut, only the butcher appeared to be open in the market area, Futtle beer was open but the folk behind the bar didn’t seem interested in us and would same the same for the small kitchen shop. Overall a cold reception from the few places that were actually open. Drove over to Balgove Larder just south of St Andrews which was busy, vibrant, welcoming and absolutely teeming with food & goods to buy.
Ian P — Google review
Went to the farmers market weekend, what a fantastic afternoon we had, the stalls were lovely and all the produce looked so fresh. Bought a sausage roll, as we usually do. They are the best and most filling we've ever had, bacon and chicken was awesome. Definitely worth a visit, the street food and love band made it even better.
Ian P — Google review
Great place for a visit and to sample local produce. There was a large art gallery with works of art for sale during our visit. There is a marketplace with lots of different stalls selling a variety of local fare, food, drink and foodstuffs on at certain times of the month but not on this visit. The permanent shops however, we're open.
Berglas71 — Google review
The cafe presented an intriguing experience. The coffee's unexpected flavor profile, reminiscent of beer, was less than desirable. While the food was adequate, it did not stand out. The available shopping selections were somewhat restricted, leading to a slightly underwhelming overall impression. It is important to note that our visit occurred during a weekday, and the experience may be enhanced during market days.
Andrew F — Google review
Visited on a summer market day, great place to browse and buy from local artists, crafts people and producers. Everything from a bottle of gin, to a artisan sausage roll! The Futtle brewery is great as well (permanent fixture at Bowhouse) we grabbed some beers and all ate from a selection of street food vendors that attend market days.

Lovely find! Looks like a family run shop or had that feel to it. Shop had a seaside rustic look which was no bother to us. This cafe is has one of the nicest settings I've ever seen. The staff were extremely welcoming and everything was wholesome. The scones were incredible and so were the smoked butter knots. We also grabbed some coffee, which was by far the best we've tried in Fife. Pretty flawless place. I saw some comments about the price, but I felt it was in line with the quality. Happy to pay for great quality ingredients. If you're in Fife, don't think twice, just go.

Lovely cafe at the bowhouse. Good value for the quality of food. Cake is amazing! Hot chocolate is made with dark chocolate and is therefore not super sweet.
Beth M — Google review
I have visited the Bowhouse on a few occasions but mainly for the butcher or the shops, any time we have visited it has always been after breakfast or lunch and never been hungry enough to visit the café, but we made room on this occasion to grab a coffee and some goodies to go. Flat white was perfect and we picked up a focaccia, roast potato, cranberry and rosemary, oh my word, this was incredibly tasty and wish I picked up more, the bread was perfect, olive oil, lush and perfectly garlic and salty, but the roast potatoes, mmm then the balance of the sweet yet slightly tart cranberries was just incredibly moreish. The café is beautifully rust and chic, with an absolutely stunning viewing window out over the fields.

Arrived here late, and there were 2 slices of quiche/tart left as everything else was sold out. It was absolutely delicious. Best I've tasted, and it had strawberries in it, which surprisingly really worked. Will definitely make the effort to go back, even though it's almost 2 hours away. I'd say this is a gourmet food kind of place. The staff were really friendly and the owner was really nice. Would recommend to anyone going up that way.

Really impressed and really grateful. 👏👏👏

I'd avoid single Room 6 due to lack of natural light and it was very hot although I did enjoy the spacious bathroom, bath and shower. The waist/height window and skylight in the room made my stay uncomfortable, although the bed was very comfortable and the room was well furnished. There was a fan in the cupboard so the heat must be an issue and the fan did little to help. This is not a hotel but a restaurant with rooms at the back. The breakfast was superb and you can have both continental and traditional options, very high standard with table service and no buffet to contend with. The only disappointment was the watery filter coffee, there's an extra charge if you want proper coffee from the machine. I ate in the restaurant on my first night and the venison was delicious. The service was evasive on the Saturday at times, and wonderful after the weekend on my last day. The Monday team were brilliant and made up for the nonchalant attitude of the weekend staff. Breakfast on Monday departure day was the first time I was asked if I had slept well and treated like a guest. Thank you Monday breakfast team, you totally raised the bar and made me feel great, the place was buzzing with strong leadership and energy.

Husband and I went to Waterfront in Ainster for fish and chips today. It was after 2pm so past lunchtime rush. Gave our order, waited half an hour and no one had been served. Our order was number 8 and by the time order number one was being called the orders were up at order 27. We left. Total shambles. We go there a lot in and out of season but won't be going back. On a grim November day when you have no customers, read this and weep.
Yvonne H — Google review
There is no reception/check in desk so check in in in the restaurant which is expected as this is a restaurant with rooms, not a hotel. The member of staff who showed us to our room was lovely and helpful. We were given a family room for 5 but there was only 3 of us staying (we asked for twin beds). This meant we had plenty of room and even had a small sofa and a chair. There was bunkers and each bunk had an individual TV, although these didn't work (my daughter was a bit disappointed) but the main TV worked so ok. It was a hot couple of days and as we were at the top of the buildjng with very small windows this mrant the room was very hot, even with yhd 2 fans privided on. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had breakfast on both mornings. The food was lovely although the service on the second morning wasn't great to say the least. I seemed to has upset the waitress somehow as when she served my coffee she slammed the cup, cafetiere and milk jug on the table resulting in the milk spilling on the table and walked away. When I asked for a cloth or something to clean the milk with she was very abrupt and borderline rude like i was being a nuisance. Unfortunately this left a bad impression and I don't think I would return. However I must point out that not all the staff were like this.

Nestled in a charming village with stunning views of the Forth Bridge, Rankin's Cafe is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience. The cafe offers an impressive menu that caters to all tastes, including mouthwatering full Scottish breakfasts featuring haggis and black pudding that are simply unforgettable. Vegetarians will also find joy here with options like delicious vegetarian haggis.
Lovely cafe by the bridge, cozy and comfortable. Very nice food with plenty of options for vegetarian and vegan, nice coffee and very friendly staff. If you are on your way to the airport, sooo much better than plastic overpriced chain store food! And after just take a short walk for amazing bridge views.

Had a scone, with clotted cream and jam not to forget their lovely hot chocolate. Absolutely lovely place with great service staff and owner Sue who could not do more to assist. The place is warm and vibrant, the customer service is outstanding. I will pay my homage to this cafe if I am around Edinburgh next time for sure. They even gave me some bread rolls for free to take home back to Yorkshire. If that isn't service I dont know what is.

Found this by accident after visiting the Aquarium. Such lovely helpful staff, they have gluten free bread and made me a generously filled ham and cheese toasted sandwich! Soup in the side was delicious too. Dog friendly too, so I got to say hi to a few pups. Definitely recommend, thank you 🙂

Rankin’s Cafe is an absolute delight. The service is prompt and friendly, the setting is charming with the Forth bridge visible over the top of the pretty village houses. Both times we visited our daughter had the kids breakfast which she loved. I was very happy to find a full vegetarian breakfast on the menu (including delicious vegetarian haggis). The food, the atmosphere, the service is all great. Highly recommend!

I love eating in this cozy wee cafe which used to be the old post office several years ago. Lovely friendly staff. This visit I had a chicken salad gluten free sandwich with side salad and Kettle crisps. Soup in a mug is an extra £2. Today's was lentil, carrot and coconut. Vegan and gluten free. Last time delicious GF thinly sliced toasted bread with lemon cream cheese and smoked salmon. Yum. My husband enjoyed a fruity couscous and sweet potato wrap. Delicious too.

The coffee and homemade cakes are delicious, and visitors can even take home some discounted day-old scones. The menu offers a variety of tasty options, including gluten-free choices like cauliflower cream soup and cheese scones.
Delightful little cafe, within the Culross palace buildings. We only had coffee and cakes. I had a delightful Chai Latte with a proper Empire Biscuit. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive The interior is cozy, low roofed wooden beams but they are not historic originals. This doesn't stop the place from being the perfect rest stop after seeing the towns wonderful sights 😊👍

Initially stopped in for lunch. Staff where unhelpful. Told 10 min wait for lunch as busy. Which is fine completely understand. So we ordered coffee. I went back in to for an ice cream for my daughter. Staff where miserable and more interest in Staff conversation than customer service. I finally was able to order. We left thinking Staff may just been deflated from a possible rush. My husband later, then went back to order a soup , to eventually again get the attention of the staff who then said she will be with him in two minutes, to then move into the kitchen where my husband could visibly see her chatting and on her phone. Resulted in leaving with a hungry toddler as much as they clearly did not care we equally did not have the patience for terrible service. Customer service generally shocking from Staff who clearly just dont care or select their choice in customers. Toilets also ill maintained, bins over flowing, blown lights, wet flooring. Disappointing for a lovely building and such potential.

Live locally but never been until today. Delicious soup & one of the best cheese scones I've had. Very quick & friendly service. Only issue was that we had to sit outside as all the inside tables were full but luckily we finished lunch before the rain started. Lovely place will definitely return!

We were exploring Culross and called in here for a break , it’s is a lovely Cafe , very atmospheric with seating inside and outside . We took advantage of the Autumn sun and sat outside in the courtyard which was very pleasant . The service and the food were excellent , we had peppermint tea and fruit scones . The scones were delicious and as we are fairly local we will call back in to sample the other things on the menu .

Cupcake Coffee Box is a local business located in the old Macdonald's building, offering a boho vibe with distressed furniture. The recent decor update has made the space clean and bright, but some feel it has lost its previous 'cool' factor. Despite this, it remains a good place to grab affordable coffee with welcoming staff. Customers praise the awesome pastries and fabulous service. The warm waffles with fresh fruit and homemade ice cream are particularly recommended.

We went to this cafe on the two days we were in Saint Andrew’s and we loved it! The service was so friendly and I appreciated the honesty of recommendations by the person who was taking the orders. It made my day learning about this wonderful community minded cafe for everyone. Sarah from NZ

Though this rustic, charming cafe was busy, I greatly enjoyed coming here for the tea and soup. I came here for my birthday, and though the staff were harried with all the customers, they provided kindly service. The soup of the day, butternut squash, proved a creamy autumnal delight, and I equally enjoy my steaming, sweet Earl Grey tea. Payment is easy here, and you can take as much time as you need with your food without feeling rushed. I recommend sitting outside and sipping your warm beverage and watching the excited crowds of people pass along the old stone streets.

We were up in St Andrews for a day out and just looking for somewhere to have a coffee, everywhere was full. We stumbled across We Are Zest, glad we did as I would rather pay my money to a good cause rather than some big conglomerate that really doesn't care. We had lovely cappuccinos, a fresh scone, butter and jam and a rather gorgeous toffee crispy cake. I couldn't believe how quiet it was inside. It was lovely and cool, with comfy seats and a great atmosphere. If I lived nearby I would be in every day for a coffees. Would highly recommend a visit if you are ever in St Andrews.

First impressions are good, the menu has some interesting options and that's what tempted us in. Ultimately the food was very good. However, we ordered drinks and food and the drinks arrived fairly swiftly, but as time went on and we still hadn't had our food, we grew concerned. All around the café are notices asking customers to be patient, as staff might have difficulties or be on work experience, so we probably left it far longer than we would normally. After 30 minutes, we asked about our food and were initially told it wouldn't be much longer. A few mins later they asked what we had ordered. Then they came back and admitted they had misplaced our "ticket". Once they'd realised their mistake, the food wasn't too long and it was good. As our drinks were now cold, they gave us a free drink as recompense, which was kind. Once everything finally arrived it was tasty. The only other comment I would make is that the falafels were really cold and they would have been nicer warmed and perhaps add a tsp or two of hummus to the salad, as it was a bit lacking in something.

Red Kite Café, located in the Abbeyhill/London Road area, is a laid-back destination offering typical breakfast and lunch fare along with a variety of cakes, pastries, and coffee. The café is open from 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 6 pm on weekends. It tends to be busy around lunchtime and on weekends but quieter during the morning and afternoon.
I've been on a quest over the last years to find the best breakfast in Edinburgh. This is definitely a contender. I am a fussy eater and didn't want eggs or mushrooms, so you can see my breakfast was fairly simple. But all the ingredients were great. Fresh bread, high quality haggis with the sausages and bacon cooked to perfection. The big revelation for me here is how fantastically well garlic butter goes with breakfast food. Would never have thought of it myself. Wish more places done that. Overall the atmosphere was good, service was great, very friendly. The breakfast is maybe a bit pricey for the amount of food on my plate, but this is Edinburgh, so didn't really cost more than anywhere else locally. Would have been nice to have some potato scone / hash brown, some beans are always a welcome addition. But overall, highly recommend.

Red Kite sheltered us on a rainy day with their herbal teapots. Each pot is enough for two people, and they’re kind enough to offer a second cup at no extra charge. But their masala tea is not real masala tea; it doesn’t have milk; but it tastes good. I liked the atmosphere and interior design; it felt relaxed and free. Just be aware that weekend mornings can get a bit crowded. They have large shared tables, which accommodate many people but offer less privacy. Despite the busy times, the service is consistently good.

4.5 stars. amazing location, the history of golf just oozes from every space. we played the putting course-The Himalayas-and then enjoyed a good meal with exemplary service in the bar and grill. DW ordered a BLT on ciabatta. she enjoyed immensely. my choice was a fried haddock wrap with house made onion rings. while i felt like the fish fillet was quite small, it was tasty with good fresh veggies. The aioli that came with the tasty onion rings was a highlight. the extra half a star is purely for the service and the exceptional location.

Poor menu selection and the food quality did not match the prices. I understand it’s a famous golf course and it’s going to cost more money, but the quality should also match. Stupendous. I have not been to a better cafe, have not had a better breakfast in Scotland than here. Coffee was on spot: Not scolding hot, perfect blend, amazing latte art. Not a pleasant experience. Lengthy wait for our order to be taken. Food, when it arrived, was lukewarm, (cold scrambled eggs, burnt streaky bacon and sour dough you could sole your shoes with). Very humid inside the cafe with condensation streaming down the windows. Very, very noisy. Dog friendly? No, it certainly wasn't. My little dog barked a handful of times (no more than the dog at the table behind). One of the staff approached our table and asked if there was "an issue?" making it abundantly clear we were to shut up or leave. At this point we decided not to stay for a cake as I was stressed and upset at being spoken to by the staff member. Won't be back as felt harassed and definitely not welcome.

Stumbled across this place when heading to Cupar to pick up a new car. What a wonderful little shop and cafe. Everyone here was lovely and more than happy to help. We had the baked tattie and a drink each for lunch and were very impressed with the portion and the food was great. Lovely central fireplace in the cafe with sofas round too. Great to take a few minutes to chill. Looks like an extensive outdoors play area out back and an indoors soft play area too. Great to keep the kids entertained. This was a real find. I know of this group from Ireland, but this was the first time I had visited. The staff were excellent faintly, quick and really helpfull. Coffee and cake were delicious and I'm going back for the eggs benadict that just looks so good. It was busy we were in at around 1pm. The greeter was really excellent showed us to our table controlled the crowd and was very professional 5 star just for her. Service at the counter was quick, and friendly. Coffee was grand and the cake, well your lucky I got a photograph it was to tasty it was almost gone in an instant

Disappointed. Ordered a soup and toastie. The soup was inedible, lumpy, undercooked and tasteless. The “toastie” was barely coloured and had the taste and texture of having been made with a cheese sauce. If it was a cheese sauce, it was undercooked. You can really taste the flour. I ordered the simplest, least fussy item on the menu and I’m leaving hungry, disappointed and embarrassed for them. Also, gone are the days of the huge wedges of cake. You may have a shaving of cake. Seats are comfy, foh staff friendly and a good location. Other than that, not worth it.

Expensive £3.50 for chips and £2.30 for a can of irn-bru. Cheaper going to McDonald's. Ordering via the computer makes the place feel like there is no service. Overall not sure I would stop by again.

It's been a while since we have visited here, but as the football was on at East End Park every pub in the High Street was choked with Hearts fans and probably because there is no alcohol served here we managed to walk in and get a table without a problem. There was no menu on the table and no QR code, so we looked at the menu above the tills. You order and pay at the tills. You then wait for your drinks and you take them to your table. Your food then gets served to your table when ready. Our hamburger and chicken gougon burger tasted very nice, good quality meat cooked perfectly, a bit sloppy but nice. One small niggle though the paper it was served on did start to break up and stick to the bun, maybe change to a better grease proof paper to prevent this happening. The chips were nice a lot better quality than the usual cheaper frozen chips that some establishments serve. Our medium lattes were more like a large, which wasn't a bad thing as the price was £3.50. These tasted great and were hot. The servers behind the till were polite, prompt, and well presented. The toilets were very clean.

Such a disgusting experience at Bob & Berts Dunfermline. Wasn't my first time but definitely the last. Ordered some coffee and cake, to find mold on the Raspberries (as you can see in pictures). The tables were not clean, greasy even. Prices are so over the moon, don't understand why given that the food has no quality what so ever. What was SHOCKING for me was that 3 months ago I was told they don't fry meat and veggies in the same fryer to find out this Monday (15th May) that there's no separate fryers for veggies and meat. Such disrespect for people's beliefs or dietary restrictions. Will give - stars if I could. WON'T RECOMMEND AT ALL. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Went to bob and Bert’s in Dunfermline. Ordered their small breakfast for £10. Came with one egg, one bacon, beans and one cut pancake. When I asked for syrup for the dry pancake, they showed up with their card reader and asked for £1.20! Much better value and service elsewhere. Avoid this place.

Standard cafe. Lots of seating and very busy when we arrived. Good range of food and drinks at reasonable prices. Friendly customer service, but after we placed our order, and food and drinks arrived, we had to ask for serviettes as none had been brought to the table. We did look around before asking to see if we were supposed to grab them ourselves. Due to Covid rules, both entry doors were open, but this did make it rather cold to our table that was near the entrance.

Even though we were still planning on buying food from Pret. When we tried to chat with our friend while standing, we were informed that we could not reserve a table for ourselves and then asked to leave. It was frustrating, especially as three black students on a school trip.

Very clean, helpful and personal staff, not just rushing around. Clean tables, and lots of small tables for two people.

A lovely place to sit for a coffee on a sunny morning
Rupert F — Google review
Food was quite expensive and drinks were not especially hot although hot chocolates were not bad and it was a seat out of the cold. Food and drinks were served in takeaway cups which didn't feel particularly welcoming as we were dining inside. Service was OK but could have been a bit cheerier. Their toilet system is also annoying as you need a receipt to get in to them and we were not given a receipt at the till. However all that being said, their chocolate croissant was quite tasty.
Rachel D — Google review
So slow every time… one person on the till, one making coffee is not enough at lunchtime. Please sort it out - it’s costing Pret a Manager a fortune and disappointing for all of us who don’t like waiting in a queue for 12 mins to pay for a sandwich
Tom E — Google review
The Chicken Pot Pie hot soup was amazing and great coffee as ever; good to be back, tables well spaced out now and good provision for sanitising etc.; note for students and workers with laptops, there is now a 1 hour table limit!
E D — Google review
best pret, super clean, all the staff are so so nice. there is not always seating available, esp. on weekday afternoons during term time, but that's to be expected. even when it's crazy busy they still manage to make the drinks super fast and you don't have to wait at the counter for someone.

Great coffee, bacon roll was yummy and crispy as I ordered it. Lovely staff. Made me feel welcome and had a great sense of humour to start my morning off. Love the view out of the big windows over the fields. Coming from Australia this was a lovely view for me.

Just placed my first ever order through just eat for this cafe. Absolutely disappointed it was left at my front door for a start. Then the kids cheese toastie you get one wee slice for £3.70 it is definitely not worth the money, Also the 3 sausage on a roll was horrible dry no butter i will not be back.

Came by early morning just after opening time. Presumably owner was so friendly and got started cooking everything fresh right away. The spot itself is catered really nicely for families with loads of kids books available and a small soft play area to keep kids entertained while out & about, even a kids step in the bathroom to reach the sink. The food itself was unreal like proper quality breakfast and grabbed an iced coffee which was so good too. Super lil gem of a place , if we’re passing by again will definitely be calling in.

Stopped here on way home and was so glad we did. The nachos were outstanding and bacon roll, and scrambled egg rolls were fantastic. The staff were superb. Nothing too much trouble. The place was spotless as were toilets. ( always a good indicator of staff attention to detail in our eyes) . Owner Neil was unbelievably helpful. Thankyou to everyone involved in this Gem of a cafe. Coorie by the Coast is a delightful spot for families, offering tasty meals for both kids and adults at reasonable prices. The rooms are reminiscent of a luxurious seaside hotel but more affordable, with plush amenities and stunning views of the harbor. Guests can enjoy a peaceful stay in well-maintained rooms with comfortable beds and pristine cleanliness. Additionally, the location provides easy access to local pubs and breathtaking views of the Three Forth Bridges.
What a great spot! I was flying out a day later than my companions and needed something for just a night. Coorie by the Coast was above expectations. Lovely room and cafe below. Very nice to walk the Limekilns promenade. It was also easy to get to Dunfermline to see the Abbey and palace.
Leonard G — Google review
Perfect location, room was beautiful with plenty of places for storing clothes etc. Bathroom gorgeous, we had a view out front too and the room had lots of nice touches like hot chocolate, tunnocks chocolate bars and actually nice tea bags! Rare for a hotel room. It was also immaculate. Stairs to the rooms are steep though and street parking is really bad, and we had an insanely noisy neighbour who was blasting a space documentary all night. No phone number to call and no reception desk to get help, I had to sleep with ear plugs and over head headphones on top. I did contact someone through Instagram and they responded quickly and the noise stopped. I can't believe it took that though, I was knocking on the door of our neighbour repeatedly and they just ignored me, the most rude neighbour I've ever had in a hotel. That's the only thing with staying in places like this, when it's great it's great but when you need help in the night there isn't someone on a reception desk you can call. Cafe downstairs is lovely and very dog friendly which is great. Only true negative for us was the neighbour, but that is an unfortunate thing that hopefully wouldn't happen again. It would be much better if there was a phone number you could call in instances like this though. I would highly highly recommend this place and definitely stay there again, the location is so peaceful and the rooms are perfect

My wife, daughter and I went here for lunch a few months ago and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the best lunch I have had in a long time! There was a bit of wait to get a table but thankfully we didn’t go somewhere else as it was worth the wait. The staff were pleasant and the restaurant was attractive and clean looking with shelving in the middle selling interesting bits and bobs. For food I went with the lunch special of open toast with roast lamb, roast potatoes, mint mayo and gravy which came with salad and homemade crisps. This tasted as good as it sounded. I love it! My lips are salivating even thinking about it. The homemade crisps were amazing as well and a very nice touch. We ordered a tuna and cheese baked potato for the little one which was well cooked. The skin was just how I liked and our girl seemed to enjoy it. My wife got the breaded haddock bagel which she also gave high praise of. I got a side of halloumi fries which were a quite a large portion much to my liking. For drinks we got a hot chocolate and a mango smoothie. Both were nice. We took away a couple of sweet treats which also hit the spot! Overall, a fantastic lunch which we were very satisfied with! It’s worth noting that prices were on the slightly expensive side but I don’t mind paying for something pricey that is this good.
Chaz C — Google review
Stopped for a coffee and cake. Service was very fast and friendly, coffee and cakes were fresh and delicious. Sat outside as weather was gorgeous. Beautiful views so had a lovely experience at Comrie by the coast. Highly recommend this place.
Janice C — Google review
I'm not writing this to criticize the place harshly, but rather in the hope that it leads to improvement. I’ve been coming here from time to time to enjoy the fish and chips, and until now, every visit has been consistently excellent. However, today's experience was quite disappointing in comparison. I ordered the usual fish and chips, but instead of receiving a single piece of fish, I was served three small strips. It felt like a way to reduce the portion size—there was barely any fish, and I found myself mostly eating the breading, which was also slightly burnt. My partner ordered one of the specials, a ham-in-a-bun sandwich. Unfortunately, the bun was hard, as if it had been left uncovered for a couple of days, and the ham was overly fatty and quite chewy. For a £30 meal, the quality just didn’t match the price this time. I’m giving 3 stars—not to discourage others, but in the hope that you return to the high standards that made me love this place in the first place. I'd truly like to remain a loyal customer.

Superb cafe great place to visit for a relaxed breakfast or lunch 🫖 Food is delicious and fairly priced. I have visited at least three times to try various dishes from their brunch menu and have no complaints whatsoever. The staff continue to be attentive even when the cafe is at capacity at peak times. Lovely coastal village with free parking. Just a short drive from Dunfermline, worth the visit ☺️
Lauren S — Google review
LOVELY! Where to begin... to describe how beautiful this B&B is? First of all, it is right on the seafront, which is always very pleasant. It is housed in a charming historic building. Despite this, the interiors have been tastefully restored with attention to the “Modern Cozy Coastal” style. The rooms are very large, as is the bathroom. An extra coat hook would have been useful... but there is no shortage of space. The beds are large and comfortable. There is also a lovely spacious outdoor area, with tables and benches. The perfect place to enjoy the sea ;-) You can choose whether or not to have breakfast here, but the Café is very inviting, as are its culinary offerings. The location is also interesting, in the quiet village of Limekilns, a 40-minute drive from Edinburgh Airport. But the icing on the cake is always the human factor: extremely friendly and helpful staff! If you arrive outside the Cafe's opening hours, you can access the B&B via a very easy self-check-in system. It is important to note that for those with mobility issues, there are several flights of stairs to access the rooms... So: suitable for many, but not for everyone...

Greggs is a chain bakery that prepares breads, savoury snacks, sandwiches and sweet treats. The bakery is known for its bacon rolls and coffee in the morning. The bakery also has steak bakes and fudge donuts which are popular. The bakery is open for sit in or takeaway.
Throughout my trip, I often ate at Greggs for breakfast or to grab a quick lunch . Love their Cappuccino and Latte👍 Great place for take-out, quick service, always hot food to go, I ate way too many Jam donuts on my trip 😬 they were just so delicious ! I hope we can get Greggs coming to Niagara Falls 🇨🇦💯

I have been going to Greggs in St Andrews for quite some time. But I have to admit I am extremely disgruntled and fed up with the staff and their attitude. The bins are constantly full, the toilet is absolutely gripping and not cleaned. I tell the staff all the time the bins are full. l infact I am sick of telling them this, as you cannot put any rubbish in the bin as it is brimming. This shocking member of staff told me to push the rubbish down in the bin to fit in more things in it, instead of cleaning it which is their job. In closing, Why do I go there, you may ask, because I like Greggs 6it's cheap and cheerful. However in St Andrews they need a manager who will lead these lazy members of staff. Because clearly they are totally clueless and need a manager that will lead them properly. Honestly if they worked in my place they would have been sacked months ago. Awful work ethos & attitude
Zanor W — Google review
Have not had an issue ordering to go here so far. The only criticism I would have is that it is too often that I go on the earlier side of the afternoon and the baguettes, wedges, etc. are completely sold out. Feel like this is something that can be worked on and shouldn’t be too complicated.
A A — Google review
Good option to lunch for a low price. It has variety and quality is decent.
Ariadna S — Google review
It's a shame to have to leave this review because I have never had an issue with this Greggs before. Recently while I was there I saw a woman working behind the counter with her hair down and no hair net. I assume she was a staff member but she didn't have a Greggs uniform or a name badge so possibly a new hire - in which case she obviously needs a refresher on food hygiene standards. She was working right by the food which was disgusting. Luckily she didn't serve me personally so there were no hairs in/on my food but it was very off putting.

The Staff was very rude .. Please make sure you buy what you want and leave ASAP as they strongly are a take out place. My first time there and got yelled at for catching a breath on a table after traveling to the Campus for hours ..

Costa Coffee is a delightful counter-service coffee chain that has become a beloved spot for many, especially in Kirkcaldy High Street. Known for its inviting atmosphere, this café offers an array of hot drinks, iced coolers, sweet treats, and sandwiches. The staff here are truly exceptional; they work diligently to foster a warm and friendly environment where customers feel valued. Many patrons appreciate how the team remembers their names and favorite orders, making each visit feel personal.
Friendly Staff, perfect cappuccino, and great charity book idea. I got a book, no idea what it is, only 3 words to describe. Crime ! Fiction ! Page-Turner! And it helps a great charity. So get down, get a book only £1 and drop off any books you don’t need so they can make there way into someone else’s collection.

I love Kirkcaldy High St's Costa Coffee House. The Staff work so hard in all areas, they go all out to create a warm friendly social atmosphere. They show interest in everybody, know many by name, and their favourite drink n food preferences. That speaks volumes considering the amount of customers frequent the place. I go there to meet with friends, or work alone on my writing. The Costa Coffee House is a definite positive asset to our High St. 🌎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿☕💕😇😇😇😇😇😇☮️🙏

Didn't have food but the drinks were good! Was meeting family and bumped into more, was an amazing time
Hayleigh P — Google review
Staff while friendly start off with a "sit in or takeaway" question rather than a hello or anything else which is a bit odd. The glasses that Costa use for coffees are actually very uncomfortable to hold and this is a nationwide Costa issue. They're also incredibly heavy. A few lights were broken / failing and therefore the store was pretty dim inside. Also not sure of the policy but allowing dogs inside is strange. Not talking service dogs here, just Joe blogs dogs. As they walked out the dog put it's head on two other customers tables probably trying to have a quick look what's there but clearly the customers didn't appreciate or like it. This policy needs changing as not everyone is a dog person or wants their cafe experience to be interrupted by dogs.

Lovely place to stop and have lunch! I was on a cycle up from Edinburgh, and this was a perfect place to grab coffee and carbs. Really friendly staff, solid portions and silky smooth espresso. Two thumbs up :)

This place is very unassuming and easy to not notice but when you do pop in it's totally worth it and such a delight. The bagels are more than just bagels, they use really good ingredients and take time to make sure all the flavours are balanced. The Pastrami bagel was delicious and had the perfect mix of crunch and with the crisp fried onion and pickle against the soft and flavoursome pastrami. Definitely pop in if you can as it's very surprising how they've taken something as simple and plain as a bagel and made it something special. The staff were also lovely, the place was really busy but they still made sure we had everything we needed and made polite conversation. The guy was telling us it's his mum's place and she bakes all the cakes etc so please do try as this is a lovely wee family business and the coffee is fantastic as well as the food.

AVOID!! This place is an absolute joke, tried for the first time today and had hair inside my takeaway boxes, bagels were stale and tasteless and the sausages were literally the worst thing I’ve ever seen, uncooked stone cold and smelled like dog meat!! I would honestly avoid this place at all costs £23 for 3 of the worst bagels I’ve ever had you get better bagels from Asda!

We visited Tornado Bagel multiple times on our 1-week stay in Kinghorn, both for dining in and takeaway, and we loved absolutely everything we tried there!
