We loved stopping in here for snacks and a few drinks before we left Portland. As always, the crab Rangoon grilled cheese and the charcuterie stole the show. We also ate the frites and deviled eggs and had a few beers and tried their frozen drinks. they had a lot of food options which was great since we didn’t want to do a full dinner. All the food was yummy and I’d recommend going and eating anything they have! I only knocked it down 1 star because I felt like there was only one waiter or waitress working for everyone in the whole place on a Tuesday night and that meant things were a little slow from first drinks to food and then to getting the check. Overall, we had a great time though!

Always a great visit. Love the outdoor patio nestled in the trees and among the brick buildings of the Old Port. Fantastic European beer selection. And servers are super kind and friendly. Love their merch, too.

Great location, excellent lambic and wild aid selection. Servers were incredibly knowledgeable on BElgian beers. Also a good selection of hazies and lagers if that's your thing

We had been walking around Portland all day and just wanted a beer and a sandwich. We ate on the patio, which was a nice atmosphere. Really good food and beer.

We had cocktails here before dinner. Getting seated was a bit confusing and the hostess wasn’t very inviting. We sat in front of a wall as you walk in to the right - not the best, but it was a seat. The waitress was very nice. Our drinks came out quick. The presentation was very cool and taste was delicious. We had a little bit of a challenge getting our waitresses attention for the bill so a very nice place if you want to have a drink and just be left alone. 3.5/5

Visiting from out of town and luckily stumbled upon Blyth & Burrows. Every cocktail bar claims to have “unique cocktails”. This place truly delivers. I loved EVERYTHING about this place. The ambiance is great. The music was fun. The cocktails were fresh, unique, and incredible. Our bartender, Anna, truly was a queen of her craft. She had great recommendations and we watched her make perfect cocktails with care and precision. Honestly, for a long time this is going to be what I refer to as “the best bar ever”. You need to get an oyster shot - because, when in Rome. Then we had a couple drinks from their menu that imitates beers, a Big in Japan, and I had a S.B.N.T.S.. I would 100% recommend all of it. Just go ok?

Blyth & Burrows is hands down one of the best spots in Portland for oysters and cocktails! Their $1 oyster night every Wednesday is such a steal — always super fresh and perfectly shucked. The vibe here is classy but still laid-back, with some of the best cocktails you’ll find in the city. If you’re into oysters, good drinks, and a cozy Portland atmosphere, this place is an absolute must. Always a great time here!

Had some fantastic cocktails here. Lots of really unique and interesting options. Seems like Wednesday is the day to go - they have a special punch and some great deals on the raw bar. We walked in and got a seat around 4:45 but it definitely seemed like there was a good wait later on.

Went in with my very talkative grandpa, and our bartender was super sweet and talked about the shared experience of travel with him. Once we left he commented on how nice they were. The drinks are good aswell, i personally got the “Big in Japan” which has a salty sweet taste to it, highly recommended!

This place was fantastic. We popped into the Speakeasy part for a drink while waiting for a table in the main bar and needed up getting eating in a cozy private area in the back which was perfect for our large group. There’s hidden doors everywhere, an upscale pirate theme and great ambiance! We shared several food items and loved every thing- even had to order a second order of lobster rolls. Emma was our server and she was just a peach! She was attentive but not overbearing, helpful, and handled our large group perfectly. Definitely recommend this place!

Would come back to Portland just for this bar! We went twice in two days—just couldn't get enough of their inventive cocktails. Their clarified stuff is a must. Our favorites were the HMS boxer, the tom yum punch, the capesized, big in Japan, and the hefeweizen. Also try the milk and cookies!

Great place to stop for a bite after a boat tour, or anytime you want a great view. This place is huge! Many seating options inside and outside. The food options were good (including many Irish-inspired options). Great beer selection. Highly recommend.

We visited for brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. The upstairs is quiet and with a fantastic view and is more like a restaurant, while the downstairs has music and televisions and is more pub like. We had the fried chicken breakfast sandwich on a bagel with fries and loved it. It was a decent portion and good quality and the fries were really crispy. Our server was friendly! We’d recommend making a booking.

We were recommended this place specifically for the gluten-free fish and chips, so that is what we both had. The food was delicious, and our server, Garrett was excellent. He was very attentive and helpful and made the experience really great.

Never been to a pub before, and was here for a wedding rehearsal. Nice pub with a view of the water. Nice and friendly servers. The place look and feel rustic. Food is ok not much standout to eat for.

We recently hosted a welcome reception at Ri Ra in their space upstairs, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The menu options were outstanding – there was something for everyone, and every single dish was delicious. We opted for the beer and wine package and everyone was very happy with the selection. A huge shoutout to Tara, who helped us coordinate everything. She was incredibly communicative, helpful, and just a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process. The staff on the day of the event were also very friendly, attentive, and professional. Everyone had a wonderful time, and we couldn’t have asked for a location to host our event. Highly recommend Ri Ra for any private event or just a great night out!

We had our wedding reception dinner in the Harbor room at RiRa’s and it was amazing. The food was delicious, everyone was raving about it. The servers were so quick and kind! Tara was absolutely amazing through the whole process. She quickly answered all of the questions I had and she was very accommodating to what I wanted. The views from the room were beautiful. I highly recommend renting a room here for any occasion you may be hosting!

All brick walls in the basement and what appears to be an old hotel. With the charm of a old speakeasy, the sling delicious cocktails. Food was on the smaller portion side, but tasty. Burgers come with a salad but you can upgrade to a couple different options of fries for a modest price of $2-4. But you only get a couple fries that was my only complaint w the food. I also have to agree that the service was lackluster and a little disappointing. The person that served us was unfriendly, curt, and almost rude. The bar wasn't busy and yet it took a very long time to get our drinks. This was mostly disappointing because I saw her just standing around. Might give it another try

Super super cool joint. It’s a real hole in the wall. The vibes are good and the music is excellent. I got there around 10 PM for food and they said because of a kitchen staff shortage, the only food they can do is a smash burger and fries, which threw me off guard because the online menu says they have more options. Thankfully, the burger was good, and the truffle fries were killer. I’d come back for sure.

We live in the neighborhood — less than a ten-minute walk — and we want to love this bar. It has a great speakeasy vibe, the drinks are solid, and while the food is a bit overpriced for what it is, the menu is decent overall. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. But the service has been consistently disappointing. As a former server myself, I understand the job isn’t always easy — but our last two visits, including one just this past Friday night (July 11th around 9 PM), have left us genuinely frustrated. We came in with a group of six, planning to stay for a few rounds and enjoy our night. At the start of the visit, one of our friends asked our server what kinds of whisky they had. Instead of offering any suggestions or checking, she told him to go look at the bar himself. That’s not how hospitality should work. Later, we ordered a second round of drinks. The bar wasn’t busy, but the drinks never came. After about 25 minutes, we saw our server and asked about them — she told us they’d be right up. At that point, we just canceled the order and asked for the check. To top it off, a 20% gratuity was automatically added because of our party size. Normally I fully support that and probably leave more — good service should be tipped well. But in this case, the service didn’t merit it, and we felt stuck. This bar is so close to home, and we’d love to be regulars. But repeated service issues have made it hard to justify coming back.

Popped in here as it was right down the road from my Airbnb and absolutely fell in love. The atmosphere was incredible, great service, and the steak frites with the garlic butter on top was insanely good. Definitely wish this place was closer to home. Highly suggest adding this to your list of Portland’s must visits

What a cool spot! Dark and funky! Really interesting cocktails. They were serving breakfast for dinner, and the omelettes were one of the the best meals we had on our Maine road trip.

Atmosphere was cozy and dark, I find this to be romantic and that is actually hard to find. I appreciate the speakeasy feel. Service and staff was attentive and friendly. Late night snack of Truffle fries was the perfect size for two to share. The cocktail I ordered was not something I enjoyed, not because it was bad, I went outside my comfort zone with a 50% success rate, next time! I would recommend others to try the cocktais. We went for late night food and drinks at 10:40 PM after a concert. It took until midnight for drinks to arrive, and only to be told that the food we had ordered was actually out and that the kitchen had closed. We were then still charged for these drinks that arrived 80 minutes after ordering. This place isn’t worth your time or money. I recommend avoiding this place in favor of the other restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance that are open just as late.

The Thirsty Pig was a great dinner stop and easily handled our big 11 person party. Food: Everyone was impressed by the quality of the hotdogs and the sausage sampler was a great showcase of some more unique flavors. Our only complaint, was that the sample sausages did not come with buns like the regular sausages. Service: The staff was speedy with drinks and was very pleasant at every interaction. Atmosphere: Even though it was starting to get chilly out the tall walls made outdoor seating very cozy. I would definitely check out the shelf of board games for before and while you’re eating!

I got the Icelandic hotdog and it was a pretty good, normal hotdog but missing some key components of a traditional Icelandic hotdog (crispy fried onions and brown mustard). It was pretty busy and quite loud, but there was live music which was cool. There is very little indoor seating.

If you have time for one bar in Portland this should be it. We felt very lucky to have this place recommended and it certainly didn't disappoint. We even caught a local musician Cryin Caleb who was truly phenomenal

I went here for lunch with a friend a week ago. They had so many great options. I got the Viking Dog. It was so good!! They staff was very friendly. Definitely gonna go back next time I'm up in Maine!

The staff was warm and welcoming, and the entire atmosphere had such a cool, laid-back vibe... the perfect spot to unwind in the heart of Portland. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every bite was flavorful, and they were super accommodating with our requests. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a wonderfully laid-back hang out with great food. Love the creative hot dog combos. I really love the nicely curated craft beer menu and rotating taps. I also really appreciate the vibe in this high ceiling , old brick construction.

As described... neighborhood pub complete with 'the regulars' and the folks like me, blow-ins looking for authentic experiences. This corner tavern is a gym that oozes with local charm. I arrived a couple minutes after they had opened on Sunday morning. I was lucky to get a seat at the bar. I had my typical traditional breakfast of eggs benedict, home fries, crispy bacon, and coffee. The home fries arrived cold. But everything else was perfect and the lady behind the bar kept my coffee full. I like seeing the collection of first responder patches they have hanging above the bar. Those are my people. The three guys to my left all ahead, draft beers and a shot of whiskey. That seems to be the norm. Or at least it was for them. Because when I look down to my right, those guys all had the standard ten ounce glasses, there were 100% Titos. When one of these guys was getting a refill, the bartender asked if he needed a splash of orange juice, and he said, "No thanks. I'm gonna keep man-ing it up all day." The price for this breakfast was 1/3 less than most of the other breakfast places where i've ordered the same thing. They've also got a few tables and a couple of booths, and it's definitely a family, friendly kind of pub on a Sunday morning. Great food, thoughtful service and locals who are willing to engage in a chin wag.

Whenever I’m back in Maine, Ruski’s Tavern is always my first stop. The food never disappoints, and the staff make you feel right at home. I’ve been coming here since the days of the previous owners, and it’s just as great now as it was then. The Whaley family has done an incredible job of preserving Ruski’s traditions and atmosphere while adding their own unique touch. If you’re looking for delicious food, a welcoming vibe, and a genuine conversation with a local, Ruski’s is the place to be.

You can never go wrong with Ruski’s. It’s a small dive bar with decent food and drinks. The service is awesome with attentive bartenders and wait staff. I highly recommend the daily specials. Recently, they have not had the homemade hot sauce, but that was incredible when they had it. Not really vegan-friendly but there are vegetarian options. Homemade baked beans are fantastic, as well as the Benedict, and the hot dogs. The burgers are good and the sandwiches are big! Breakfast is very good, especially for a bar.

We found Bubba’s Sulky Lounge off Reddit when visiting Maine, and it was such a delight. I have never been anywhere like it! The vibes are eclectic-antique-store-meets-dive-bar-dance-floor, and we loved it. The dance floor was hopping, and we had a lot of fun!

This was the best nightclub I’ve ever experienced. The vibes are insane, the DJ was a blast, and the people were top notch. It’s both a dream and a nightmare in the best way. Whether you like the club scene or not, you have to go to just see the place with your own eyes.

We landed on Bubbas after seeing it raved about on Reddit. I’ll hand it to them on the theme/ decor. I love the 1960s circus/ antiques everywhere and if they had been playing 70s/80s music like many other reviews mentioned, it would’ve been great. I know Portland’s 80% white but the music and crowd really drove that point home and it felt very corny. Also it having a cover charge and the whole bar being cash only was really unexpected and inconvenient.

this is the best bar i’ve ever been to. seventy is i credible, four different dance floors with light up floors, drinks are cheap, and staff is great. YOU MUST GO

I can't really give it a bad rating, because we had a lot of fun dancing on the light up floors. It is however, very dusty/moldy if you are sensitive to these things.

We came for a bachelorette party, dressed in lobster costumes, everyone stopped at the bar to take photos with us but the bar wouldn’t let us in to use the atm to get cash for the cover. A sweet woman and her husband gave us cash to get in. Once we got in (thanks to the couple we met outside), we danced all night but the staff was so rude.

Fun 80’s themed night club with weird antiques lining every inch of the place. Seemed never ending as there where like 7 rooms with a different bar/dance floor in each room

Loved this place! Both alcoholic and non with interesting ingredients including many types of bitters, phosphates and shrubs. It's a little retro-y hipster but in a fun way. Menu is categorized by flavor profile. Staff was super knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. We each ordered two drinks - my second was suggested by the bartender and included a beet shrub component which was surprisingly delicious. Not many seats but there are places to roost and 2 small bistro tables out front. If you try something you like, ask for the recipe - the small store sells almost everything you'd need (other than the actual alcohol), including vintage bar sets, a variety of bitters and alcohol infusion "kits". Well worth your time, even with non-drinkers. Only food seems to be truffle popcorn so don't come hungry. Looking forward to coming back and trying something new.

Definitely the best cocktails in town, hands down. The Smoother than a stout cocktail is amazing. Steve and the crew there make you feel welcome. They have the most selection of bitters I'v ever seen in one place.

Vena's Fizz House is a lovely place that can appeal to everyone! They have mocktails for the non drinkers, sodas for the kids, and fabulous craft cocktails for the ones who love a boozy libation or two. It also doubles as a shop where you can purchase all sorts of bitters and other items essential to your bar at home! Worth a stop in your stay in Portland!

Great drinks and interesting things in a quirky store/bar that feels lost in time. Super friendly staff will be only too pleased to help you navigate your way through their extensive range of bitters, liqueurs, other unusual or uncommon flavorings.

One of the most incredible bars I've ever visited. They have AMAZING drinks, made with care and creativity. They really showcase what's possible with the addition of bitters to drinks! They are also happy to share any of their drink recipes, and sell an insane variety of bitters on site.

I have to be honest - I don't remember what drink I had here, or what drink my boyfriend had. However, I do know that they were both DELICIOUS and as strong as you'd want a good cocktail to be. I can not recommend this place more! I normally say "definitely stop by if you're in the area!" but honestly even if you're not in the area, GO HERE! You'll get a delightfully enjoyable and cleverly made cocktail and you'll get to sip it in the most adorable place. I live over two hours from this place and have considered going back on multiple occasions. They also have an excellent gift shop with all sorts of cocktail accessories, from bitters to glassware. Highly recommend.

Excellent cocktails and service! The bartender made us an extra drink on the house when we had trouble deciding upon which drink to order from their amazing cocktail menu. Everything to recreate the drinks can be purchased from their retail shop that you walk through to get to the bar area.

Very small, funky place with limited but satisfying menu and exquisite cocktails. Had the Greek salad with chicken skewers and Thai chili sauce, and the cucumber basil gin martini. One of my new favorite places to go when I'm in Portland

We went on a trip from Connecticut to experience Portland, and this place hands down was both my and my mother's favorite place! It was conveniently located right next to our hotel (The Regency) and super cozy! The Mango-peach martini is one of the several must try cocktails! We fawned over the dried mango served with it, like candy! The espresso martini is also excellent! But if you are leaning more towards food, I definitely recommend the Caprese Salad and build your own charcuterie board, and the Chocolate Raspberry crepe for dessert! The staff and owner are very friendly, hospitable people! We visited them 3 days in a row just because of how perfect our experience was, and I definitely would love to come back again just for them! Much love from Connecticut! Hope to see you guys again!

Had great drinks and snacks! Great spot to hit up on your weekend trip to the Old Port! We had the espresso martini and a watermelon martini and had no complaints!

With so many good restaurants in this city, it's not easy to decide where to eat sometimes. The North Point makes it easy to decide if you're looking for something a little different and delicious in a quaint and comfortable setting. We tried a few small plates that were outrageously delicious....chicken skewers, roasted brussel sprouts, and a Cuban panini.

We had a great time! The North Point has always been a great place to gather and enjoy tasty food and drinks. I am so pleased that they have been able to transition into a Covid friendly dining experience. Their menu, of small bites, nicely lends itself to outdoor dining. And their creative cocktail list has something for everyone. The Ruby Mistress was amazing! 🍸 Keep up the good work! We'll be back. ❣

Don't pass this spot up. Great cocktails and menu. Meat and cheese plate is baller with a large pick your own selection. Other dishes looked good and probably were based on my experience. This place looks small but fits many. Staff remains calm and friendly under pressure.

EXCELLENT! Stopped in to get out of the rain and found one of our favorite stops in Portland. Drinks, Food and Staff were top notch. New England hospitality at its best! My husband had the Maine Whiskey Flight, and the bartender delivered it himself and gave him a brief history on each glass. The bar food was so good too!!! We will definitely leave the husbands here for the day next time while we shop, then pop back in for food and an espresso martini. My husband loved it so much he bought a t-shirt and has been wearing it non-stop to show his support of this great establishment.

We arrived late in Portland and were looking for a nightcap. Happened on this place and we were so glad we walked in. Fantastic drinks, I had the smoky Manhattan, but all our drinks were perfection. Wonderful and attentive service, our waiter was amazing. Great atmosphere. Very sophisticated, no rowdy crowd. This looks to be one of the few nice places that is open past 10 pm on a Sunday. Would come back here anytime! We didn't eat anything here as we had gotten food earlier on the road, so I can't comment on the food.

My wife and I visited here a few years ago and really enjoyed the Independent Ice company. We came back this week and it was even better than the first time. The staff is exceptional, truly knowledgeable, and they make you feel like family when you’re there. The selection of whiskey is absolutely amazing and the knowledge they have about each whiskey is also incredible. The food is excellent also. All the way around, an amazing experience. This business will always be a favorite of ours.

The Independent Ice Co is a must-visit spot for bourbon lovers, offering an immense selection of whiskey and an unbeatable $5 Old Fashioned during happy hour. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are friendly, and the bar itself feels like a cozy haven for anyone who appreciates a good pour. Their bourbon lineup is impressive, featuring everything from approachable bottles to rare finds that would excite any whiskey enthusiast. The only downsides were the pricing on individual pours, which can lean high, and the occasional sense that staff recommendations were more about upselling than genuinely guiding you to something you’d love. Still, the quality drinks, warm vibe, and stellar happy hour make The Independent Ice Co a solid choice for anyone looking to unwind with a great bourbon in hand.

Outstanding! Went for the Bourbon Whiskey Selection (5 pages!). Tried a flight and the bar person brought the flight and each bottle on the flight and walked us through each Bourbon. Same with the singles! Then we snacked our way through our visit with some of the best home-made pimento cheese and crackers and charcuterie. Topped the exquisite visit with their Bread Pudding.

Remember that line from Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner": "Water, water, every where, Nor any drop to drink"? Well, Independent Ice is totally the same, but it's bourbon and whiskey everywhere and you actually can drink it. Not all at once, obvs, because your liver would want to shoot you with a crossbow as if you were a tipsy albatross. You get the idea, though. They've got a lot of bourbon. Go for a Mainer flight. The staff is super friendly and knows what's what from whiskey. Small plates available.

Cozy place to grab a beer or a good cocktail. From what I could tell it's prices were a little better than other cocktail bars in the area. They have a ton of old maps everywhere that are cool to look at.

It feels like all the moons are in alignment when you are in Maps and the bartender slides Fever to Tell on the turntable and it gets to Side 2 song 2…..🤯. Great ambiance that u seem to only find in subterranean watering holes. And the cake was delicious.

This was the worst place I’ve ever been to. DO NOT GO HERE!! The bartender was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Ask for a marg with some jalapeños. Bartender said no problem then gives me plain Rita. I asked since I didn’t get what I asked for if I could get a glass of wine. The bartender then said “if I paid for it” when he was the one who made the wrong drink. He then proceeded to say “I don’t have time for this”! So nasty! Then he proceeded to tell me I was ruining his day! Are you kidding?? TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! Place. MAPS is one of those Portland bars that offers two completely different experiences depending on when you walk through the door, and both are equally worth it. Fast forward a few hours, though, and MAPS transforms, the lights dim even further, the volume turns up, and suddenly you’re in the middle of one of the most energetic, social scenes in Portland, mingling and dancing shoulder to shoulder while the records keep the place alive. Whether you’re in the mood for conversation or connection, MAPS delivers both. If you’re looking to make a new friend, grab a drink and strike up a chat with the person next to you, odds are, they’ll be just as happy to talk.

Such a great spot! Records playing tunes we all dig. Bartender was super friendly. Delicious drink options, and a HAPPY HOUR! We brought friends from out of town and they cant wait to come back to Portland just so we can come back to Maps! Easily 10/10. Love this place

Cool kind of divey bar. Good service. Played vinyl album sides of varied genres. If you like cool old maps, as I do, they have plenty on the walls and ceiling. I didn't have any food.

I love trivia night on Tuesdays! Also the bartender here is so neat and quick and cool. Really good vibes. Also the grilled cheese is bomb.

Walked in and sat at the bar for a late lunch and to grab a beer. My server was fantastic and she was working hard. Offered a suggestion for a beer and it was good. Lots of food sounded good. I tried the fried chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were a little soggy. Chicken sandwich was good. Good was pricey but kind of expected for the area. Seating was ample. Atmosphere was nice.

Great pub with a chill atmosphere. Molly at the bar helped us with two pours of bourbon before moving to a table once our wives arrived. I don’t remember our waitress’s name but she was very fun as well. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Highly recommend the tots and falafel wrap! So tasty. They have cask beer which is also awesome if you're looking for UK vibes. Tuesday night was chill with live acoustic music. Excellent location, we'll be back!

If you’ve never had Blueberry beer, you have to try it here! Not the biggest fan of beer in general, but this one specifically had me coming back for more. Their take on a lobster roll was simply delicious.

Stopped in after an excursion off a cruise ship. Bartender was fantastic. We had 2 ciders each, bowl of clam chowder and the lobster blt. Outstanding!! My brother is not a big lobster fan but loved it. Will definitely go again when I am in Portland.

I was there for a work trip. And, us guys sat at the bar, obviously. I really just want to shout out to Claire for being the most spectacular bartender/mixologist! She was amazing! I forget the name, but this blue cheese martini! The way she made it, absolutely fantastic and unique, to me at least. Instead of blue cheese stuffed in the olive, it was infused in the vodka. Other, than being able to handle us at the bar, she was truly amazing! Prompt and she knew what she was talking about. Amazing. The Top of the East vibe was also fantastic with city views and sunset views. Just absolutely gorgeous! I would definitely recommend having a drink with Claire and just watch the sunset.

Wandered in at 5:00. The crowd was light and Claire was working the bar. I asked for a Manhattan - High West Double Rye - up. It was exceptional. Claire was busy but happy to have a conversation and we had a pleasant chat about their cocktail menu and the bar business in Portland. Great views and great service. Highly recommend.

DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR NIGHT UTTERLY DESTROYED BY THE SHREW AT THE DOOR. We arrived at 11pm on Saturday evening for a nightcap on my 40th birthday celebration. Immediately upon the elevator opening, the god awful woman who was stationed at the host stand tried to tell my cousin "we close at 11:30" (a lie as we were told MULTIPLE times, by different people at the hotel, that they close at midnight). As I was the last out of the elevator, laughing and enjoying my birthday party with my arm around my aunt, enjoying the moment as she had JUST received news her daughter was in labor, I watched this woman RUN to the bartender for what looked like a solid "tattling" session. I'll never get this image out of my head. I stopped to ask what I thought would be a "joke" of a question - "Are we in trouble? Did we do something wrong? haha" and she looks me square in the eye and says "I'm just telling him not to serve YOU, specifically" (and she proceeds to point right at my face, like an evil big sister). When I asked why, she told me that she saw me "trip going up the stairs" (to which I very much do not remember... I only remember seeing her running to the bartender before I even got to the stairs but maybe? I was walking with my arm around my aunt after all). That said, I'm not a child, I'm not inexperienced and I never black out. It was clear she just had it out for us. Needless to say, we turned right back around and aborted the mission, ending the evening in my lovely suite downstairs in tears at how awful she was. It's unfortunate the bar lost out on probably $200-300 plus tips for the people who worked here by turning down 11 people in a mostly empty bar an hour before closing. I am not a hateful or spiteful person. This will hopefully be the only negative review or commentary I ever leave in life. This woman is clearly miserable. Management should be embarrassed to employ someone like her. I have quite literally never, EVER in my life been treated this way. Not even as a dumb 20-something. This woman deserves nothing more than to lose her job for acting so horribly... especially on someone's birthday. There are MUCH nicer ways to treat people trying to spend money in your establishment, even if you do perceive they shouldn't be served. The view was nice, sure, but I will literally never step foot in this place again and will do everything in my power to ensure everyone I know in, and who ever goes to, Portland never do either.

I came here in 2021 and back then they had these amazing brioche lobster sandwiches. Bring it back!!! But a great place for a view in Portland.

Absolutely stunning location, friendly service. However food came straight out of the sysco truck lol. The corn dip tasted of nothing, just cream. & the iceberg lettuce used for my wedge salad was riddled w red spots & was clearly spoiled, had some slimy spots etc. Wings seemed as tho they’d been microwaved. Would not recommend this place for FOOD, but absolutely yes for drinks & the location!

Our bartender Lexy was kind and attentive, our glasses were kept full but not in an annoying hovering way. =) She made recommendations when we asked, we took her advice, got the bruschetta and loved it! Made for a very pleasant date night. Glad we came, will be back.

This had been someplace I was excited to try out for a few years, but never had the right opportunity to go. Last night was the chance, and I was very much looking forward to it. Was quickly impressed that my date and I only had to wait less than 5 minutes to get 2 seats at the bar at around 9pm on a Saturday night. The experience went downhill immediately from there. My date and I were not greeted by the bartender nor offered menus, just asked if we’d like a drink. Her attitude was crisp, cold and off putting (btw, never got her name, and the name on the receipt for cashier was “Host with the most”). No hospitality whatsoever. Was it because I was on a same sex date? Better not be. We were mostly there for dessert, and the idea of a drink was the cherry on top if you will. Ordered a seltzer water, martini and 2 desserts. Seltzer was presented rapidly. I watched the bartender make a martini that looked like my order, leave it on the bar rail exactly where she made it, walk away and start working on something else. I asked another staff member if that was my drink, she asked the bartender and confirmed it was in fact mine. How’re you going to make me a $13 drink and leave it on the rail, near me but not in front of me, without giving it to me?? At that point I was over her attitude and didn’t want to sit there anymore. Thought it would be better to just take our desserts to go and sit on a nearby bench and enjoy the beautiful night. Before receiving the desserts I asked for utensils and she responded they do not provide to go utensils. (What?!) It was then that our desserts came out…2 crumpled up pieces of aluminum foil stacked one on top of the other. I was so appalled and offended I refused them and asked for the bill. I have never, ever been served brand new food (meaning not leftovers) in a smooshed up piece of foil. If I had been told when I asked her to make the items to go that they didn’t have to go containers, I would’ve canceled the order before they wasted 2 pieces of cake. I’ve worked in many restaurants, hotels and service jobs in my life. I’ve also dined out more than I should admit. This has got to be the worst experience I’ve ever had with service. Will never return, and will do my best to spread the word that this is a place to be avoided. As soon as we left we, walked directly to Gross Confection Bar, had exemplary service with fantastic desserts and far better atmosphere.

OVERALL 5/5 NOTE THIS IS FOR DESSERT ONLY I came here looking for a sweet treat after some great seafood. I had the rice pudding and cheese cake. The location was full but the nice hostess was able to pivot and let us sit in the lounge area once she knew I was here for dessert. The waitress was quick nice and attentive. I asked for suggestions and she mentioned the rice pudden which was very yummy. I added some photos here to show both the atmosphere which was very low tone in my area and had coffee shop vibes mixed with old style building as this is Portland. Overall it was a wonderful experience for a nice dessert. I had an expresso and it went very well with the sweet treats.

What a cool, unique spot to get drinks and desert. Highly recommend the mocha martini and the flourless torte. The espresso martini was good, but was very alcohol forward leaving me missing some of the classic espresso taste. The crème brûlée’s flavor was spot on, but unfortunately the sugar crust was a bit thick and didn’t shatter right. Overall a great little place!

What a delectable, delicious, delightful little haunt. I had the best Keylime martini! It was so creamy and delicious... Really seriously like biting into a slice of Keylime pie. Highly recommend to satiate your sweet tooth!

An interesting spot, We had the Poutine with short rib and the Mac and Cheese both were ok. For drinks I had the Tequila Old fashioned. The place was kind of like a bar my dad would have gone to about 30 years ago. Staff were friendly and fast, the place was busy but we got a seat no problem. Food served late so if you got the munchies this might be the place for you.

This place looks like a dive but the grub is good. Hubby and family have dined here before and a few of them rave about the Mac & cheese. Perhaps I'll try that next time. It was bit late (around 8 pm) when hubby and I went. There was a line but they got it going pretty quickly. We were sat in about 10 minutes. Our server was accommodating and friendly. Hubby ordered one of the beers on tap while I requested for some cold water. I opted for fish and chips while hubby ordered their chicken sandwich. His came with the house chips while mine came with fries. His was supposed to have been swapped with fries. His was not quite right but he still thought it was good and didn't bother to get it replaced. As for my fish and chips, some of my fries were too overdone to my liking. I thought the food was decent but could have been better. The vibe was good, music reminded me of my former band's repertoire in the early 2000s. Their decor is Big Lebowski-inspired. They are popular with locals who just want to hang. Prices were reasonable for Portland standards. Will give them another try.

Grabbed dinner here, the atmosphere was very cozy and laid back. We got the chicken sandwich and the grilled cheese w soup. Both were delicious!

I loved the atmosphere. It had a very rustic vibe. Looked pretty dark from outside, so I was unsure for a second that it was open. I got the smash burger, and it was ok. It just didn't hit home for me while taking the first few bites. The fries were delicious, though!

Definitely will be back. Food and service were excellent. The cauliflower and the garlic hummus were fresh and tasty. I would suggest you go on a day when it's not the First Friday Art Walk or there is a concert at State Theater because it got super crowded and the music was blasting which made it very hard to have a conversation with anyone across the table.

This pizza spot seriously hit the mark open late when most places are shut, and the vibe was exactly what we needed. The drinks were on point (strong and tasty), the music created such a fun atmosphere, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Our server made great recommendations and kept everything moving smoothly without rushing us. The pizza? Delicious. We’ll definitely be back, this place just became a go to for late nights out!

Some of the best pizza i've ever had in my LIFE. The garlic pizza was incredible. The vibes and service were great. We stopped in after a show so it was pretty late and the place was still hopping which is what brought us in there. I got an espresso martini that was not my favorite, it was really bitter and fruity, but it was nicely decorated! Great wait staff, pizza came out relatively quickly. Would absolutely recommend and go back

We had the hot honey chicken pizza. It was so delicious, it had a wicked dynamic flavor and was cooked perfectly. We had the lemon blueberry ricotta fried dough for dessert and that was so scrumptious. The bar tender was super nice and perfectly attentive.

Best Bolognese pizza I’ve ever had, hands down. Pretty loud/dark in here which is why I say 3/5 stars for atmosphere but this place was packed and with good reason. Our table also ordered the Butcher and a Margherita, you won’t be disappointed with any of their pies!

GET THE MAC & CHEESE! So cheesy and delicious! Definitely recommend the hot dog and the chicken tender macs they were so yummy! Fried pickles were cooked perfectly and came with a super yummy sauce. Highly recommend this place for a quick bite!

We found Tomaso’s while waiting for our table at Duck Fat. What a great local bar. We only had a drink the first time but we went again before we headed to the airport. This time we had lunch. The fish and chips are delicious and the bartenders were great! This was one of our favorite discoveries in Portland!

Love getting to visit here! The atmosphere felt so comfortable and personal. My buddy and I came for drinks and felt right at home. We had the mac and cheese with chicken tenders and bacon. Definitely recommend trying that dish out as it was delicious!

Let me tell yall something, if you want good quality food please check this place out! We ended up going to this super extra ritzy expensive bougie place around the corner called even tide aka high price tide for small portions… I spend $30 and left hungry! No drink just a damn crab roll. I’m so happy I Decided to check out this local spot. The atmosphere, my waiter .. I hate that I forgot her name but she made me feel incredibly welcome and gave us enough attention. The food and drinks were 10 out of 10!! Please give this place all the love !! I will be back ♥️

Local bar. Ordered fish ‘n chips ($19): good fries, but a little over cooked. The fish had a horrible, thick breading, I had to dig the fish out like I was eating shellfish. That said, the fish was great, once I got rid of the breading. If the kitchen changed the breading it could be a great dish. Good air-conditioning (A/C). I heard the chicken tenders were better. Shawna was a decent bartender.

Get the Mac and cheese and the French fries!! The haddock sandwich was FIRE and so was the dirty chicken sandwich, and the fries and mac were so good! Highly recommend especially for the reasonable price!

Oh, what to say about Tomaso's but if you're looking for a small little hole in the wall for one of the best steak bombs ever in New England, then look no further. This is the place to be. It looks intimidating at first but you realize upon entering it's just a vibrant, intimate little sit-down bar. All the neon and lights inside just adds to its rustic charm. Now to the main subject, the steakbomb. Tender, very peppery shredded beef, red peppers, succulent onions, and that cheese sauce. Oh, the cheese sauce. Just perfectly salty, creamy, and perfect to dip your crunchy fries into. Think 'a grungy biker with a teddy bear personality' energy. This is what Tomaso's is and I'm all for it. I can't wait to go back again sometime. Local beer on tap, too! Delicious!

I had a blast at this place. The servers were nice and the drinks were strong. I highly recommend this low key place for a nice night out with the friends or a couple. The only thing I'd fix was the music it was a bit random. Also bring cash, bring cash, bring cash.

Went here for new years eve 2021 going into 2022. Had the best time. Cool little speakeasy bar with hidden entrance and all drinks are $5, hence the name Lincolns.

My partner and I took a road trip to Portland, Maine over the Easter long weekend to explore the food scene, and Wayside Tavern was on our list of must-tries. We wanted to love this place — and it started off strong. First off, the ambience is fantastic. The space is cozy and intimate, perfect for a date night. The different dining rooms gave off serious Clue board game vibes — moody, classic, and charming in a very intentional way. We started with the “greens and beans” special, which was a highlight. Perfectly seasoned with a bright, acidic kick that opened up the palate nicely. That said, we wished there had been a bit more kale in the mix — it felt a little skimpy and the balance leaned more heavily on the beans. Unfortunately, things went downhill with the mains. My partner ordered the roast chicken over ricotta toast, and it just didn’t make sense. The dish felt disjointed, like something thrown together from pantry leftovers at the end of the week. The textures didn’t work well together — the chicken, ricotta, and toast felt oddly mismatched. He also noted a vinegar flavor that ran through the bread — not overwhelming, but it felt out of place and unnecessary. I had the smash burger special, which our server hyped as “the best burger in the city.” It was… fine. Not terrible, but not memorable either. The edges didn’t have that crispy sear you expect from a proper smash burger. The house-made American cheese was a nice detail but leaned too salty. All in all, the ambiance is lovely, and the starters show promise, but the menu could use some refinement — especially when it comes to the main courses. We might give it another shot in the future, but for now, it was a bit of a miss.

We were visiting and staying next door. We had a heavy travel day and wanted something easy so we went next door as walk-ins. Although they were not able to accommodate us (Labor Day weekend), we ordered to go. We asked if they could text us when the food was ready since it was going to be 30 mins, they did and boy were we pleased with our choice. The food was delicious and hot. We ordered the cod cheeks, chicory salad, tonnarelli, and pork schnitzel. All was expertly cooked. Plus we were given a sweet note and dessert. The care behind that note took our breath away. We will be back the next time we visit Portland and come with a reservation. Lol

What a cool cozy spot. The food was delicious, the drinks were thirst quenching and the service was helpful and efficient. 3 people was $200 before tip. Apps dinner and drinks For starters we had the Blue Fin Tuna ceviche and cod cheeks. The ceviche was minty and refreshing while the cod was savory crispy and light. For dinner the pork schnitzel was excellent, the fennel and celery complemented the tonnato sauce nicely. The suggested wine pairing was a great choice too although I don’t recall what it was. We passed on dessert

My favorite restaurant in Portland and probably the world (bold but!). Not only have I never had a miss on anything I’ve ordered, the consistency between visits is unmatched. Drinks are fire, food is incredible, staff is super nice and helpful.

We had all the shared plates, except the salad. Everyone was terrific with squash and eggplant being superb. All four entrees were excellent; the halibut, chicken, snitzle and special fettuccini. Will be definitely be coming back. Service was beyond expectations.

To start with this place is adorable. I loved the whole vibe of the restaurant. The service was wonderful; our waitress took the time to explain good drink pairings and go over highlights on the menu. She had a great energy in general and was very attentive. We all ordered different appetizers and specials for our dinner and everything was delicious. At first we commented to each other that the menu options were kind of limited but their variety if specials was a great addition and everything was so well made.

Coming from Wisconsin, we were craving a true blue bar that would give us some reprieve from the bustle of shopping/exploring. Commercial St Pub was perfect - fun and full of great people. After going up the coast for a few days, we literally came back to do a shot one last time before leaving - thanks for reminding us of home in the BEST way! Come to this pub for a great time!

Probably some of the best authentic Lebanese we have had in a very long time. Great food, tabule, and chicken skewer, with humus and pita. Regular Lebanese, just like home. Good value. You wont be disappointed!

On my first visit to Portland, I stopped in here to kill an hour before my Fire Truck Tour. It was probably the closest place I could see to get out of the sun and grab a quick beer. The joint was near packed and there was only one bartender working. I barely made it to my tour because when I asked to cash out... at the same time the folks next to me also did... the bartender only cashed out the other folks while I sat there with cash in hand for another ten minutes! Might be a good idea to have at least one more bartender working to help accommodate all the couple dozen or more or that were there. 🤷 Won't be visiting this joint again. Plenty of other places to try.

But we are in a dramatic battle after 2 hours of playing, on frame 9, stakes couldn’t be higher among friends….and the lamest thing happened, they shut off our alley cause we ran out of time. This place would be 5 stars if they didn’t shut off bowlers mid game for no reason….youre a bowling alley, the most important thing you can do is let bowlers FINISH THEIR GAME. Therefore only 4 stars, Besides that great place.

We did our rehearsal dinner at Bayside Bowling and it was a hit! The vibes are really fun and they have a big upper mezzanine area that we rented that could hold a lot of people. The food was great and the staff was flexible to work with. I also noticed they have a cool rooftop area that would probably be amazing for a wedding. Totally recommend!

Great place for bowling with lots of lanes. Parking is a challenge especially for such a large facility. Had a company party and was a good location for it. I score it low for all the food allergy people. My employer wanted to provide food all of us could eat. So there was food labeled gluten free, vegan, ect. However when I asked about the wings which is often safe to eat they actually cooked in the same frier with gluten but labeled as gluten free. When I mentioned you really should not label as gluten free I got a look.....so after that I decided I was eating nothing because I did not trust the labels. Most everyone seemed to liked the food but I heard the shrimp were fishy and the cook tried to cover up with spicy seasoning..... Being in Maine you have to do seafood right. We know when it is wrong....

The place was clean and equipment looked newer. We were informed when we showed up they were shutting down the lanes almost 2 hours early, this was on a weekend. Not a great way to run a business. We only had a half hour to bowl. Then the lane broke down and it took some time to find someone to fix it as no one was at the front desk, so more time was lost. There are other options available in the area.

After a family member unexpectedly ended up in the ER after taking a foul ball to the head at a Sea Dogs game, I brought my son over while we waited for the rest of the family. We are not local and for us the price was on the higher side. The only real reason why I felt the need to write a review is that they had an extremely poor selection of bowling balls. I was unable to find a single ball that fit my fingers properly in the entire alley. All the balls are drilled for small fingers. The balls they did have were scratched, and had gouges in them. I feel this would be a great place for the rooftop bar, but this wouldn’t be my go to for actual bowling. It’s also very small with less than 10 lanes, so if you plan on going bowling during peak times I would call first. We did not have a wait on a Wednesday night.

Hands down best sour and farmhouse brewery in Portland and all of Maine. Among the best three wild fermentation breweries I have been to in the USA. Do not hesitate to come and try many varieties, the buzz is as good as the creativity! They also have lager and the To Go section is literally epic. They tell you production time and aging time on every bottle. One is currently aged from 2017-2018 🍷 Dog friendly to boot. Thank you 🐺🐺👊

Perfect brewery for a weekend morning and afternoon. There’s plenty of selection of drafts, great shade, and a Duckfat counter on the side patio. Great way to skip the line at the actual Duckfat Restaurant (it was 2 hours wait during lunchtime at a Saturday, this counter at Oxbow was 5 minutes wait instead 😃) There’s mainly 2 hour street parking but it’s worth to take time to find a spot because there’s a ton on this street- cheese, wine, coffee, oysters.

This is a huge bar with great beers, cider, and cocktails. We brought food in. This is more of a picnic table kind of place but on a rainy day with a large group it was perfect.

We had the best experience at Oxbow!! The venue was exactly what we were looking for and the staff were great. Leading up to the wedding, Rebecca was amazing to work with. She kept me updated every step of the way, was very organized, and made sure that all of the planning stayed on track. On the day of, Courtney was fantastic! She made sure that everything ran smoothly from start to finish and I never had to worry about a thing. Would highly recommend Oxbow to anyone!

Flawless experience working with Oxbow for our May wedding. The team was incredible, guiding us each step of the way. The brewery turned out to be perfect for our 175 guests; plenty of space to sit and walk around to mingle. Highest of recommendations!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Oxbow Brewing in Portland, ME and having nothing but great things to say! We have a full family style meal for ~50 people followed by a welcome reception for ~140 people following this and space was plenty big. Rebecca and Courtney were fantastic in helping coordinate everything and made the process extremely easy and stress free from start to finish. Rebecca set up regular meetings with us to ensure they could execute our vision. Courtney was awesome when we visited the venue for a tour and the day before/day of for last minute details. Some of our favorite parts of the venue are the big barrels, indoor/outdoor space which was perfect for the summer, the table flowers they provided, how there were two bars so the line was never long, the projector to play a slideshow of pictures, and the stage for speeches. And can't forget about the top tier beer! We would highly recommend for any event!

Would definitely recommend as a stop for saison/ farmhouse ales and sour enthusiasts! Had a great experience with Conor behind the bar. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable with the beer as he recommended beers based on my preferences, but also pulled double duty as tour guide offering several recommendations on what to see and eat around town. The brewery itself is very chill and relaxing. Would definitely return! Cheers!

I really wanted to like this place. But alas was left disappointed. Food not cooked properly. The grill lines on a filet are just the start. Not the way we expected a filet cut. Vegetables looked frozen out of a bag. Asked for a medium rare on the strip steak and got it medium well. Steaks not seasoned and rested properly (bleeding on plate). I really hoped for a better experience. The cocktails are good and worth a try.

i ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich. sadly, the cajun buttermilk batter chicken was cooked way too long. our waitress was pleasant but didn’t return to check on how things were going. unfortunately, i wouldn’t recommend rigby yard.

The restaurant had indoor space to accommodate our large group of 8 (two families, 4 kids total). We were seated shortly after noon on a Saturday. There were two servers who primarily focused on serving their customers at the outdoor patio tables. A simple lunch of drinks (lemonades, sodas), sandwiches and salads with no appetizers took 1.5 hours from start to finish. A lot of room for improvement in terms of customer service.

Stopped in for a lobster roll ~ it was amazing! If you’re stopping in for lunch, it’s a must. We tried a couple of different beers as well, both so good. Go with the recommendation on the beer, you won’t be disappointed. The restaurant and the area around it is has a great vibe.

We sat at the bar because the restaurant had reservations coming in shortly. Nice conversations with the bartender. We ordered the 33 cent prohibition cup of soup. It was very capital very good. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day and had a cup of soup for lunch. The bartender had said that it has a different flavor taste each day because whatever's left has been used in the soup. And we found that to be true.

I am extremely disappointed with my dinner experience at the Rigby Yard. They missed the mark on several points. The bartender was the only good thing about this place. She was attentive, friendly and made some very well balanced drinks. Other than that, I have nothing good to say. The issues - I ordered the filet (Medium Rare) with fingerling potatoes and charred broccolini. First problem, they either ran out of broccolini or just flat out changed it to broccoli. I can only speculate because the server never mentioned any changes to the menu. Second problem, the steak was rare but somehow EXTREMELY chewy. I'm still rather baffled about how an undercooked Filet can became so rubbery. Not to mention the food was sooooooo bland. I've had hospital food that tasted better. Btw this is the most expensive entree on the menu and I had to leave hurriedly to pick up food from another place 15 minutes before they closed so that I could have a fulfilling meal. I Do NOT recommend.

Pros: drink selection was solid. Cons: the food is dismal. The “fresh bread” was claggy. The meatballs were dense and bland, and the “cheese” on top was basically plastic. The whipped ricotta was passable. If you’re out for a night of drinks with friends this place probably fits the bill. But given the other food options nearby, this place would be my last recommendation for a nice dinner out. Our server was friendly but the front of house staff seemed to be struggling to manage a rather empty restaurant.

Best dive bar I’ve been to in a long time! I work on a cruise ship and Eric is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met! Love the Negroni and the espresso shot. You will not be disappointed… I hope we dock here soon, will definitely return.

Had a couple of drinks here. Sat outside . Great service and drinks. Great Aviation! Did not enjoy the smell of marijuana from a group smoking in front of the bar though. Not the fault of the bar, but still not a good element for patrons to deal with.

Great dive/ cocktail bar off the beaten path. Was recommended from a couple we’d met. And passing along the recommendation. Delicious espresso martini. One of the most amazing pretzels we’d ever had. And the Kraut dog, wow!!! Great place to stop by while on Portland

If there are two things you must have when you come to Portland Maine they are at Room for improvement. The Espresso Martini (Legendary) and their Snapper Dog!!!!!!! Do not leave without having these…. O and toss in a Boat for your Bartender!!!!!!! Amazing

Cool bar in a back alley cobble stone street! Pack with fun and good drinks. Hotdog seem to be one of the specialties on the menu. I didn’t get one, but they did look good. The drinks and the pours are great cool vibe and fun atmosphere.

Room for Improvement is a lively and creative cocktail bar that knows how to make you feel right at home. The bartender was excellent, knowledgeable, personable, and clearly passionate about their craft. I started with one of their seasonal cocktails, which was absolutely delicious and took me on a roller coaster of flavors that blended beautifully from start to finish. Every sip offered something new, showing real attention to balance and creativity. Later in the night, I joined the entire bar for a round of Mind Erasers, which turned into a fun, social moment that perfectly captured the friendly, communal energy of the place. Between the inventive drinks, engaging atmosphere, and top-notch service, Room for Improvement is anything but in need of one, it’s a spot I’d happily return to for both the experience and the company.

Really fun and laid back bar! Not pretentious but more silky and cool? I guess? The bartenders were funny, loved rednecks, made so many mind erasers I’m not sure if any other customers recall being there at all. The cheeseballs with chopsticks made me feel white trash fancy and the bathrooms playing the simpsons themes song on repeat had me in a cute nostalgic like trip. They really gained respect from me seeing that they made an actual original daiquiri and a classic cuban. Super cool for a cocktail nerd like myself! Thanks y’all!

This little slice of America should be visited at least once in your lifetime. Johnny is one of those world-class bartenders that sets 'em up right and can steer you in the right direction regarding the finer points of catching a well-earned buzz. Music, decor & atmosphere was splendid when I was there. The restrooms are sublime. If you like clinical, dreary, soulless joints with zombie staff who care more about fingering their phones than rocking steady this might not be the joint for you.

Most of the five star reviews seem to be pre-lockdown. Clearly something changed, because instead of being self aware and wearing a "hidden bar" aesthetic, the vibe was genuinely apathetic and a bit creepy. Slow service, awkward staff. The drinks were quite good when they arrived but the lighting was so poor I could hardly tell what they looked like. Going to try again in a few months and see if I can redo this review.

I would call this a upscale dive bar because its got all the essence of a dive bar but its not dirty and you can feel safe in it. The only issue I found was the bathroom situation, you open the bathroom door and there are immediately very narrow stairs to the toilet. My friend has MS and had some issues using the facilities. I'm not sure if there is a handicap bathroom or not. Overall the place was comfortable, the bartender was wicked nice and the drinks were delicious!

Great little bar, nothing special except the drinks! Stopped in while walking around. Nothing flashy, which I like. Sit down talk to the person next to you and share a drink. Didn’t have any food so can’t comment on that.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite bars in town. I really dig the relaxed atmosphere and the stellar service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a laid-back and authentic Portland bar experience. I haven't found many bars can top the happy hour prices of DTL's food or drinks.

We did not have reservations, so we went to the bar area which had seats available. Within two minutes we were greeted and asked if we wanted any drinks. We got our drinks and she took our order. Within twenty minutes we received our food. Our food was delicious, I highly recommend ordering the cold lobster roll. I suggest calling in to make a reservation. Make sure you validate your parking ticket. Restrooms were clean.

We enjoyed our meal & the atmosphere. We made reservations for the patio & were seated immediately. Haddock was amazing & tasted fresh. Service was great & our waitress checked in on us just enough times! Our only complaint were the side choices— side options were limited & hard to pair with their menu options.

I would say you’re definitely going here for the ambiance and the experience of dining somewhere unique. The decor was very nice and the views are excellent. Our server was very kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was just okay. We came in around 4:30 and did appetizers, drinks and dessert. Steamed clams were very gritty. Not your normal, occasional grain of sand, but very much could’ve been cleaned better. Crab cakes were a hit with our party. Great variety of drinks. Desserts were very good- we did the blueberry cobbler and the mud pie.

Friendly all around. The bartender was quite helpful reviving my cell phone. The food was delicious all around too! The bowl of lobster mac was amazing albeit a bit pricey $50 for the portion received however the amount of lobster in the mix was really good.

I recently visited this place during my day visit to Portland,ME and I loved coming here for dinner after a long day of city exploration. Their food is quite tasty and both the quality/quantity of food is satifying. One must try their Bacon-Wrapped scallops ,they are sooo good. Their fried fish sampler is also delicious and their lobster rolls too are amazing. Pricing seems fair and could be little expensive, but thats standard for a restaurant well known for seafood. I highly recommend coming here for dinner,worth the 2 hr drive from Boston!

Brilliant! One of the best meals! Ignore the rebiew about bell Peppers in the crab cakes. They were superb, so meaty, mostly crab and little potato. The tuna tartar was one of the best I have tasted on my travels. I also had the pecan crusted haddock- excellent! A sweetness in the sauce, the fish was well cooked and moist. Will return as soon as I can. Thank you Lilly.

I don't think you can go very wrong at DiMillo's. We had good drinks, and some amazing food. Why only 4 - Stars, ..?.. Well, their lobster stew is to die for, ... the onion rings - do NOT order for just one person, and I do not "like" onion rings, but these are great! The wedge salad was among the very best we've had, ... the 4-stars, ... I am a crab cake aficionado, .. their crab cakes were taken over by the flavor of bell peppers. FAIL!! Bell peppers have little to no business in a crab cake. Crab is a relatively delicate flavor granting people a lovely sweetness that interweaves with other delicate flavors that meld in a wonderful blend of deliciousness. Bell peppers are appropriate to cover up unwelcome flavors in all sorts of foods and should not be the salient flavor in such an expensive offering as crab cakes. Service was very good. Even the owner, Mr. DiMillo stopped by. You will enjoy your experience at DiMillo's. [Avoid the crab cakes].

While doing a little bit of walking and shopping around in Portland, we decided to stop and get a quick bite to eat. I had the haddock sandwich, my wife had the seafood casserole. Both of which were good, had a blueberry beer and we were off. We sat outside on the patio, right off the water’s edge. Food was decent, wish the menu was a little bit expanded for my liking, I really don’t eat, lobster, oysters, or clams. Limited to basically fish. But don’t let that stop you, the food was good, rather quick seeing our parking was expiring shortly. Another stop that was worth a visit. Thanks.

Great little place right on the waterfront. Looks like a no fuss gem only locals would know about , and I’m so glad we went. We had some of the freshest largest shrimp ceviche I’ve ever had, plus tender plump crab cakes, and oysters. Our server was terrific. I’ll be back again and again!

The food was okay, nothing revolutionary considering the location. The clams were super sandy and just average, the oysters felt sad and the clam chowder was okay. Ironically, the BLT was the only thing our group found to be delicious. The location is great and convenient, but there were better options out there. The staff were amazing though!

We had lobster and oyster dishes. Lobster that came together with cooked clams. It was hard for me to choose number of stars since if I based it on lobster, I would give five plus. If I gave it based on clams or oysters, I would give zero. I decided to go with three. First lobster: tastyyyyyy and fresh, best we had in Maine. Perfect amount of salt in water that enhanced lobster taste. Just yummy. Now clams: dirty, all sandy, hard to eat, just disgusting, shell has opened sloppy with big pieces of shell in the clam, dangerous to swallow if you don't notice. Will end up in emergency with internal cuts and bleeding. We plainly didn't eat them. Don't know why they included it with lobster. And oysters: old, you can see it, you can feel it. Don't know why I continued eating it, I wish I returned it, because later that day I ended up with food poisoning. Lost the day from the trip staying in hotel because of that. Next time I will be less polite and instead of poisoning myself will just return the dish. They definitely should rename their restaurant either to J's old oyster or J's tasty lobster. We sat outside, but View was nothing spectacular. A small part of port with ships but didn't feel awesome. I wouldn't go there again because even tasty lobster came with bad clams. They didn't offer just lobster with nothing else Service was very good. Our waitress was very attentive and caring.

Dinner at J’s Oyster was hands down the best meal I had in Maine. If you’re an oyster fan, this spot is an absolute must—plump, big, and bursting with flavor. I’d recommend ordering at least a dozen to start. Beyond the oysters, the grilled swordfish was another standout—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I also went for the steamed lobster, which was fantastic (though, fair warning, it does take a little effort to break down—but worth every bite). The cocktails may look basic, but don’t be fooled—they’re made with care and taste great. Pair them with the food, and you’ve got yourself a perfect evening. What really sets J’s apart is its old-school, run-down charm. The place isn’t fancy, but that’s exactly what makes it warm and inviting. It’s got a character all its own. Plus, being right on the pier, you can stroll around before or after your meal and soak in the waterfront atmosphere. All in all, J’s Oyster is a Portland classic that delivers on every front—fresh seafood, no-nonsense cocktails, and unforgettable character.

We’ve been here twice. Once in winter years ago and the second time today. Two complete different experiences, both a great time. Quaint seafood “dive” bar on the Portland harbor. Friendly service; feels like a local bar. Since we were there in June this year we saw a lot of outdoor seating we didn’t last time. The allure is the inside though. Small, cozy, and friendly. I do have to say that the steamers were a bit dirtier today. That’s my only critique. Can’t wait to come back!

Small little place, easy to walk by and easy to get sucked into other modern looking places. Chose this place for the food selection and it did not disappoint!! Had the oysters, lobster dinner and weekly special of haddock oregano . Very reasonable price, very tasty and sad to go home. Small parking lot next to this place that we did not find and had to pay $30 to park at pier. Lovely small town feeling restaurant. They have 4 tables outside by inlet of water.

Flatbread Company makes some seriously delicious pizza, woodfired and packed with flavor. You can really taste the difference. The place has a great vibe too, with cozy indoor seating and awesome views from the deck. That said, be ready to wait. We had a 40-minute wait just to get a table for two, and then another 15–20 minutes before the food came out. It’s super busy, so don’t expect a lot of attention from the servers, you might only see them once or twice during your visit. Still, the food and atmosphere make it worth it. Just go in knowing it’s more of a relaxed, hang out spot than a quick dinner stop.

Cannot wait to go back to this place! AMAZING pizza...I have searched high and low to find a pizza better than Vinnie Van Go Go in Savannah. I have found it! My sister, who hates pizza, loved it too. Delicious, maple sausage was amazing. Very generous with toppings. Salad and dressing so fresh and tasty...service outstanding thanks to Lillie. Beautiful location.

Staff was very accommodating and food was great. Small kids were watching the pizza makers toss dough in the air. They make their own version of sweet tea using Maine maple syrup. It's not a southern tea by any way but still very good

A really cool, fun place to eat on the Portland waterfront. The pizza was delicious, the beer was cold, and the service was friendly and attentive. My only gripe is that I wish they had more selection of pizzas although there is a manual option.

We’ve been to the location in Maui. It was 10x better than this location. Our pizza (sausage) was a bit burnt tasting on one side and overall was pretty bland. The waiter didn’t check on us once and visibly became disinterested in us when we said we were splitting a pizza.

Kara our server was amazing! This was our first time dining here. The goat cheese and dressing that comes on the salad, they need to bottle it up and sell it. The pizza did not disappoint either. I highly recommend dining here. The Nashville Food Critic

We ordered a 16" vegan pizza but swapped the vegan cheese for mozzarella and added fresh jalapeños, red peppers, and potatoes. It was absolutely delicious - one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! The ingredients tasted so fresh, and the thin crust was perfectly done. Highly recommend Flatbread Co. in Portland if you love quality, flavorful pizza.

The service was fast and friendly, even on a busy night. Despite the bustle, our needs were expertly taken care of. We popped in for drinks and dessert, and the toffee carrot cake was absolute perfection…seriously, order one for you and your spouse or be prepared to fight over it. The 'Death Becomes Her' cocktail actually paired great with the cake. Sitting upstairs by the kitchen window added to the experience, giving us a glimpse into their precision, teamwork and overall passion about food. Trust me, they know what they're doing. This place is phenomenal. Highly recommend!

We made reservations for a Monday evening for my husband’s birthday. We were sat immediately even being about 10minutes early, which was nice as the restaurant was definitely busy. The vibes were great, and we loved our server and drinks! Unfortunately, where things fell short was the food. We got 6 dishes, we loved the corn bread special and zucchini cake dessert. But, our other plates fell short on taste. Everything was overly salted and didn’t seem to highlight the main ingredients of the dish. And the crab salad was drowning in what only tasted like only mayo. The other dishes we got were as follows. Bone marrow toast, suckleing pig, summer squash/duck dish, and crab salad.

MUST try the apple salad. one of my favorite bites in recent memory: new to the menu, apples three ways - poached, pickled, raw - with walnut pesto, crispy cheddar, a few bitter leaves - perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, bitterness and perfect textural contrasts. We were ‘influenced’ to come to Central Provisions as a place to try lots of small plates. We were not disappointed. Starting off with some delicious cocktails we had then to make the hard decision on plates .. so many things that I wanted to try but only two stomachs!! Although I wanted the Tuna Crudo but I was overruled because someone doesn’t like raw fish 🙄 Anyway we had The chopped salad, the local cheese, the suckling pig, smoked carrots (wow), the kielbasa and fries. Our desserts were the sticky toffee carrot cake and the jam roly poly.. Must orders are the chopped salad (we had read it was), the carrots (I wanted to order more), the fries (potatoes are great in Maine if you didn’t know 🤣) and the suckling pig. And you must get the carrot cake. We wanted to lick the bowl. We loved it and we’d be back for other dishes the next time we’re in Portland.

Our waitress was absolutely amazing! We came in for brunch and were lucky to be seated right away without a reservation. However, I would definitely recommend a reservation as it quickly got packed! Food took a bit to all come out but it was very fresh and definitely worth the wait. The CP Fries were perfectly seasoned, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich was a great combination of flavors (came served on waffles with hot honey). The Vermont Burger and OG Caviar Flight were also great!

The CP chopped salad was to die for. Would definitely recommend getting one if not another it was that good. The bone marrow toast was just ok, there was way too much cheese on it and over powered the marrow flavor. (Most excited for this but also most disappointed) The kielbasa dish was pretty good would definitely get that again. The braised beef short rib was over powered by the coconut peanut glaze. Definitely a good dish, but the flavor was masked by peanut.

We stopped in based off some videos we saw on TikTok. We were NOT disappointed. We appreciate great food and if that what you are looking for you will not be disappointed here. The craft cocktails are amazing and the small plates are perfect so you can try different items and not walk away and needing an immediate nap! Adam was our bartender/sever and he knows the menu so well and he great recommendations. You don’t find many restaurants that feature caviar and I’ve been wanting to try it for a while now and I was not disappointed. The pairing with the pancake and crème freshe was perfect. If you appreciate good food and excellent service I highly recommend checking them out! I didn’t take pictures of everything we had but I think based on what we ate- you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu there.

Another stop on a cruise vacation. Usually limited to where you can go based on how far you can get from the boat and what’s open early in the morning. This was a pretty good restaurant. The food was alright I can’t think of anything bad just didn’t stick out in my memory. I did wish they had slightly more vegetables with the dishes to bulk them up What did however was the beautiful location on the pier and the wonderful staff. For a place that has to deal with a bevy of cruisers they really went to extra mile to be excellent hosts. Had a great time sitting on the boardwalk in the perfect weather! Thanks guys

The lobster is king/queen here! We ordered the twin lobster meal, which is two 1.25lbs lobsters for $45. The lobsters were fresh and deliciously sweet! This had more flavor than ordering lobster rolls, which mixes the lobster meat with other ingredients. What's great about this place is they open early morning for breakfast but serve lobster all day. So we are here before 10am, before the crowds came in. Friendly service! Nice big open deck area for seating.

9/25 - was not on our tour list of places to eat and should be, maybe because it's a little farther down the street than the rest? Sat along the rail & watched boats bring in their catch for the day, a treat as not something we see in central Illinois. The wife & I split the seafood scampi which gave her the chance to try lobster for her first time. It was really good but probably not enough seafood for a couple of regular eaters. Pretty good beer selection with a number of reginal beers. This place should be on your consideration list when deciding where to eat

The food here was surprisingly good. Especially the salad. This is 100% tourist place, but doesn’t treat you like they never expect to see you again. The outdoor deck is great and the inside bar carries its historic vibe. I amazingly got the parking space directly at the door, but it did cost $30 for an hour. Ok this has evolved over the years to accommodate the tourists but knowing that and sticking with some basics on the menu, the place is worth a visit. Plenty of outside seating on the water and a rich though rustic interior pub of something you would expect on a fishing wharf. I only ordered a chowder and a single lobster. The chowder was good but not great. It was a standard recipe and a good viscosity for a chowder. The steamed lobster was very good served with a couple of potatoes and corn. All cooked right and delicious. Service was pleasant when it came but it did seem a little chaotic.

This restaurant was recommended by a few people we know and some YouTubers. It was easy to get to from the cruise port and quite busy for lunch. There was a small wait when we got there but they had some live music playing so that was helpful. Upon being seated out on the deck our waitress came by saying she was pretty busy but would do her best. Service was fine. We ordered a lobster and a lobster roll cause when in Maine… They were both fine but nothing spectacular. The sandwich came with potato chips that were standard Lays type. For the price, I’d like something a little upgraded. One of the better parts of the restaurant was being seated by the water and being able to watch the seals swim by and get fed by the warehouses across the way (with the birds trying to get their share also).

We decided to try The Porthole after my husband saw it featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and it did not disappoint! He had the lobster tacos, and I went with the lobster mac and cheese, both were delicious. I also enjoyed some shrimp cocktail, which I didn’t regret in the slightest! The music on the back deck brought big energy 😉 Definitely give this place a try if you’re in town!

Love this place. Super friendly people and the crab is fantastic Not to mention the brews... OMG the Barley Wine Ale is heavily. And, strong. 13.8%, it has a kick to it. Just 2 will do the job. Will definitely be back any time in the area.

Food was very tasty. The service was very good and the beer and drinks were amazing. The bar area is cozy, but the dining rooms are nothing amazing. We really enjoyed the steak tips and the onion rings. The burgers are great too.

I loved my salad and the service was good. The place is quite large (and not very busy) but there were long periods of time without service. Not our servers fault. Our booth was very nice and roomy but not visable to the rest of the restaurant. Our server really seemed to care. I was a little annoyed that the “free refillable sodas” that came with the kids’ meals was only for certain sodas. Not clear on the menu and not explained when we ordered. The kids would have been happy with cokes or sprites. $22 later on soda, when the bill came, we realized sofas weren’t so free. I don’t mind spending money but hate wasting it.

Bloody Mary's were descent. Food was decent too. Service was pretty good. Busier than I thought for a Wednesday mid afternoon. My fish and chips were good but my wife's chicken salad sandwich was a bit dry. Drinks were good. Have had better food at other locations. Would probably go back again but order something else.

While visiting the town, me and my family stopped by here for lunch. Rachel attended us super well! Gave high recommendations for food n we ended up picking the pumpkin espresso martini, quinoa shrimp bowl and seafood bake. Omgoodness it was soooooo good. The food was the warm kind of meal we were looking for. Rachel even pulled out a map and pointed out places for us to visit and try out. We very much appreciated it. Thank you Rachel and Sebago for the family friendly service and delicious food!!!

We always love to try out local brew pubs when traveling. This was our first stop this trip with our large group and could not have been more pleased with the experience. The restaurant was open and airy with a large patio as well. Our waitress was friendly and quick. Every food option we ordered came out as described and we loved all of them. The lobster roll and haddock sandwich were classic Maine, and delicious. Several in the party ordered beer flights and there wasn’t a bad one in the bunch. Can’t wait to go back!!

This Brewery is what Portland is about! Shipyard Brewing, most people would recognize the famous seasonal bear, Pumpkinhead. Let me tell you, there is so much more to this company and brand! Going into the brewery feels like stepping into a modern take on a classic wharf ale house. Multiple bars to get drinks & food from. The Hall goes down a far way and ends with pinball! There's plenty of space to find a seat and sip on the multitude of beer selections they have. The beer and food are spectacular with uniqueness. Flights of beer are moderately priced, same with food. They have a small but great gift shop for goodies on the go. Overall, an amazing local company that has such a staple in Portland! Beer, food, friends, and vibes is what this place is about!

Shipyard is an icon in Portland, and they know it. The location near the harbor is perfect, making it a must-stop if you’re in town. The beers overall were solid—though the famous blueberry ale with the sugared rim leaned a little too sweet for my taste. The standout for me was their Pilsner, which was crisp, clean, and outstanding. Would highly recommend a flight. Shipyard definitely carries the vibe of a larger commercial brewery, similar to Harpoon in Boston or Goose Island in Chicago. While it may not have the small-batch craft feel, it’s absolutely a mandatory stop on any Portland brewery crawl.

Lucked into happy hour when I stopped by and that's always a good start! Lots of beers on tap and a wide variety as well which you don't always find at a craft brewery. I went with a flight and thoroughly enjoyed a few of my choices. Bartender I chatted with was super friendly and willing to make suggestions. The main bar area is a bit of an odd shape and the beams make it a little hard to navigate or see everything depending on where you're sitting. There's also a separate room for dining or private parties but I didn't venture back there. It was nice that the merchandise had it's own room as well so you didn't necessarily have to enter the bar to buy non-beer things. While I didn't try any of it the food I saw on other tables looked delicious! If I'm back in Portland I will definitely be coming back to Shipyard Brewing!

First time in Portland and Shipyard in October you know that it's pumpkin beer time. We stopped in for one beer at this brewery that helped put pumpkin beer on the map. I had their Smashed Pumpkin which was as solid as ever. They had a special room decorated with halloween stuff and two taps flowing with both of their pumpkin beers in there. Good to see they're having fun with it. The staff we all friendly and genuinely seemed to like working there. We ordered a flatbread/pizza that was totally fine for brewery food, lots of other options, and a whole room full of their merchandise.

Lifelong pumpkin head drinker, first time visitor at the taproom and loved it. great tasting room, staff was super friendly and went above and beyond. I'm sure Pumpkinhead Pete is proud! Food was also great, had one of the specials and loved it. Will be back again!

Shipyard Brewery is hands down the absolute best! I was stationed in Portsmouth, NH for a few years in my Navy days which introduced me to Shipyard. 20 years later I FINALLY had the opportunity to visit in person in Portland. They certainly did not disappoint. While my visit was part Navy nostalgia part actual beer tasting, I can assure you they are top notch. No other Pumpkin beer or summer ale competes. Thank you for bringing a massive smile to this Veteran’s face :)

Luke's Lobster in Portland is the quintessential Maine experience! The waterfront view is absolutely beautiful and the perfect backdrop for some of the freshest seafood you'll ever have. The menu is fantastic, and I highly recommend the Haddock Bites and the classic Lobster Roll—they are both absolute must-try dishes. You can taste the quality and freshness in every bite. What makes the experience even better is the efficient staff. They are friendly, quick, and keep everything running smoothly, so you can spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the view.

This place is the same Luke's Lobster in New York. The Portland restaurant is more than just the lobster or shrimp rolls. There is always a line but they are pretty efficient. They take your info and text you when your table is ready. We were able to walk around which made the 20 minute wait time go faster. We all ordered the special which was a 1.5lb lobster. It was an great price. The lobster came out hot. It had a lot of meat and very juicy. They had a card that gave you instructions on how to get the meat out and it worked. The waitress was also very friendly and attentive. This place also got me hooked on Ginger brew. They serve a non alcoholic berry mule that was delicious. We had great food and great views.

Had a wonderful time at Lukes Lobster Portland. Our waiter Evan was fantastic! The lobster roll with truffle oil was absolutely my favorite. Rich buttery and perfectly balanced. The New England clam chowder was incredible too and definitely a reason to come back. If you love cheese I highly recommend the cheese sandwich with lobster. It is such a must try combo. We also enjoyed a fresh Allagash beer while watching seals dive right off the pier and taking in the beautiful sunset. The space itself makes the meal even better!! So cozy! Overall, excellent service delicious seafood and an unforgettable view. Can't wait to return!

An institution. Definitely get the lobster roll flight so you can try 3 different rolls. They are simply delicious - bread, some sauce and big chunks of lobster. We also got the chowder. The views of the pier are incredible as well. Staff was nice and friendly. All in all a great stop for a delicious meal and highly recommended.

Our 1 whole day in Portland and Luke’s was the cherry on top. We spent sightseeing and harbor cruising during the day. The weather was 78’ and beautiful. It was 5pm and we headed to Luke’s. I don’t know much about Luke’s other than my sister who said it’s a must visit. We ordered lobster, it comes with 2 lobster and potato’s and corn. We asked our waitress how big the lobsters were. She said it was kinda small for a 1 pounder. When it arrived at our table, we were surprised how big these were. They were certainly not small from our point of view. We’ve had Maine lobsters before in the west coast, but these taste so much better from its freshness. All 4 of us ordered lobsters and no one was speaking during dinner. Just too busy enjoying these glorious jewel of the sea. Our waitress was laughing when we said we needed raincoats from all the lobster juice that flying around. When in Portland, Luke’s don’t miss it.

Yum, yum, yum. Overall, this place gets an 8.5. Lobster bisque - pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but it holds its own. It did have a slightly different taste - not in a bad way just a different way - from most lobster bisques I've had. Decent amount of lobster. 8.4 Lobster grilled cheese - good. Good amount of Lobster, though two bites on the ends did not have lobster. Could've used a bit more cheese. The lobster was def the star of the show. 8.5 Fries - fries were fries were fries. On the thicker side but still crunchy. Secondary to the entire meal. But still good. 8.0 Blueberry soda - excellent. 9.0 Excellent atmosphere right along the marina with great water views. We got there a little after opening and waited maybe 2 min. When we left the wait definitely was longer. Definitely give this spot a try.

My husband and I had seen this restaurant several times walking in Longfellow Square and so we finally decided we were going to have dinner and so happy that we did! The food was amazing the ambiance is low lit, cozy yet romantic. We ordered coffee and it was good but not robust enough for me although my husband enjoyed it. Also, the coffee could have been hotter after pouring creamer in it the coffee was warm not hot. Our server was fabulous and everything we ordered was just perfect!! This is going to be our New go to restaurant!

Atmosphere is nice but the host was very rude. You’d expect someone who’s the “face” of the restaurant to walk in to be warm and welcoming but this guy wasn’t at all. Snowy Saturday with 2 other parties here when we walked in (mostly empty) and he sat us at a table near the door so when it opened the cold air blew directly on us, so we politely asked to move. If the restaurant was full with people we obviously wouldn’t have asked to move but we didn’t think it was a big deal since it was empty and the host showed he was annoyed and was rude about our request. After this we debated leaving but really wanted to try the food here. The food was amazing glad we gave this place a chance but I think I’d pass next time if the host is always that hostile. Our server was nice but almost 0 personality. The host pours waters and leaves them out for long periods of time before the tables are seated. They leave cream out in glass containers on the tables which is a little concerning for food safety. Would come again for the food alone or get takeout but definitely on the lower service scale for a Portland restaurant.

My wife and I came in on Sunday and were able to be seated right away. Easy going atmosphere with an open kitchen that is entertaining to watch. Excellent cocktail menu and a few beers on tap. Appetizers were very tasty and dinner was also good. Best part of the meal was the blueberry cobbler, a must try! Good restaurant, but there are others in town I would try before coming back

Local 188 is reliably good and has you covered from cocktails through dessert. I had the fettuccine carbonara which was garnished with radishes and tomatoes. The combination was unique and really added a good twist. The fig bourbon cocktail was perfectly mixed and was not too bourbon forward. The server offered a wine that paired well with the meal. I found service as friendly and efficient with a willingness to fit my party in during a busy period. My only negative was that the carbonara was delivered lukewarm and then cooled very quickly with the outside dining.

A perfect date night spot! Shoutout to our waitress, Jacquline. She gets 5 stars too. We ordered the ceviche scallops! Very tasty but small to share. The mushroom dish is super tasty and perfect as a side dish to share.( for 2 people) and the last dish we got was the Venison. That was the best dish of the night for us. Juicy and full of flavor. The plates are so beautifully prepared and decorated. The restaurant has a great ambiance for a late night dinner. Sexy yet comfortable! Check out the pics. Overall highly recommend!

Outstanding! Fist time in Main. We were able to sit at the bar seats in front of the chef’s area…awesome for a front row view of all the action. Our server Jaq was very attentive and helpful with suggestions, she was doing several jobs in the restaurant and still had time to make sure we were taken care of. We talked to owner who made sure we were enjoying the experience. We may go back tomorrow morning for breakfast. A definite must experience when in Portland.

This restaurant was advertised to me as a tapas & paella Spanish inspired restaurant; to me, it felt more like a gastro pub, but it was still excellent. The sole paella dish on the menu appeared to be for several people, but alas, I was alone. The food was delicious, and while it was a bit pricey, the portions were very generous, especially when compared to a typical restaurant of this style. Unfortunately, the service was rather slow- I suspect they are understaffed at the moment. I would happily recommend this establishment for a date night; the ambiance was comfy & trendy.

Great experience. We went about 1 on Wednesday. There was no wait. We ordered the pretzels and a flight of whiskey. Service was excellent and made fantastic reservations!!! I really loved the Oat Whiskey. It's only brewed once a year according to our server. My next favorite was the bourbon. Make sure to check out the gorgeous space that overlooks the wharf!

Great stop for craft beer and lunch while shopping. Lobster Roll with brown butter was tasty and the fish tacos were a great meal too. Nitro Ichigo Cream (Strawberry Cream Ale) was a smooth, great tasting well-built beer. Primus was also good, nice and light with a solid flavor profile. Bartenders were attentive. Fantastic interior decor and outdoor seating is available too. We would definitely go back.

9/30/23 - Very nice spot. Loved the scenery and atmosphere. I was there just to hang but my Fiancé did get a beer. We played the shuffle board for a bit then went outside. The patio area has a nice port view & heat lamps.

We were excited to check this place out because they brew their own local beers and spirits. The atmosphere and space were cool. But, they have almost nothing that's gluten free (including their Vodka that they distill from wheat). I tried one of their house specials made from their own Rum, which wasn't bad, but was a bit too sweet for me. And at $16 for one drink, it was definitely not up my alley for that price point. My spouse tried a flight of their brewed beers and was underwhelmed. It could be due to the fact that we have so many breweries where we live that are fantastic, so he's picky. He did say that that he can see potential with their beers over time as they refine though.

Beautiful views and tasty beer! The staff is super friendly, the ambiance is trendy and the views are beautiful right on the bay. I got their Icelandic beer that put in these Icelandic barrels that have this liquor baked in the barrel and it tasted delicious! The waiter did a way better job explaining it and got me excited about it.

This is a must visit! They have a large selection of beers and house made liquor cocktails that will please everyone. Their food menu is amazing. Sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views. And order the house made pretzel. It’s the best I’ve ever had!

Amazing brewery experience. Was drawn in by the focus on good brewery food (and not just the average "food truck on site") and was beyond impressed by the quality and creativity of the food. Everything was delicious. Service was attentive, but most importantly friendly. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere and ambiance was exceptional. Finding parking was a little annoying - it doesn't seem like they have any of their own parking spaces, even right against their building, so if you're not familiar with the area you might have to drive around.

Stopped in and found easy street parking. Ordered the carne asada crispy taco, shrimp crispy taco, and a soft avocado taco—all were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is great, the service is quick, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a spot we’ll return to whenever we’re in the area.

It was 200 feet from the hotel we stayed at. I checked out Google to see the reviews and knew we had to try it. I got buffalo chicken salad and Rosie's Mac and cheese. My wife got a turkey club and everything was very good. Good food and I would go again. My salad was huge and very filling.

First I want to start with the staff. She is so friendly and welcoming. A very good staff. The foods are also good too. We had chicken wings, chips, craft beers and chicken tenders. Super delicious. Will come back again. They also have vegetarian options too.

Seriously nice staff and straight forward but great food. Their lunch menu is very affordable and everything tasted great. I just got their hot dogs and that was simple, but nice! My wife got the clam chowder and wants to visit this shop again for more.

Friends recommended us to come here and we were disappointed. Black and blue burger and turkey club we very average. Beer was cold. Service was as expected - no complaints. No NFL Network to watch the game tonight. Very average.

Huge space, lots of parking, plenty of seating, and friendly staff. Decent range of beers including IPA, Pilsner, Ale, Lager, Hefeweizen, Stout, Dunkel, Porter and some gluten free seltzer/ cider options. They serve food as well like fish cakes, burgers, fries and other bar food. They have large tic tac toe in the couch area. The space is dog friendly. The Spinnaker is sweet and smooth, dancing daffodils is hoppy, Striper is an ale with light lemon flavor, Nikita is a smooth stout.

Great burgers, fried, calamari and beer. Food selection could be greater, but what they have is pretty awesome. Beers are good as well like the daffodil one. Wish the burgers weren’t that overpriced for a double stack tho essentially 21 dollars. Otherwise, great place.

My husband and I came here on a Wednesday night with our 1 year old. I had a flight and he enjoyed 2 pints. For dinner he had breaded chicken and I had a fish sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals. He ate my coleslaw and said it was quite tasty. I picked up a 4 pack of more beers for us to try at home. The beer was good, nothing was rated below a 3.25 for me on Untappd. My favorite was the blueberry and the hefe while my husband enjoyed the copper ale. The can artwork was some of my favorite that I’ve seen lately. I loved the puffin artwork and ordered that in my flight even though I’m not an IPA drinker.

In a pocket of breweries and taprooms, Rising Tide was an absolute blast. Loved the indoor/outdoor vibe—perfect for a hot day! The flights were fantastic, with the Puffin Party and their Session standing out, but the real GOAT was the Tiki beer—it tasted just like a piña colada in the best way possible. Friendly staff, great prices, and some awesome merch to take home. Definitely a must-visit!

Wow! Super cute taproom! Absolutely OBSESSED with the mushroom toast! I'll be dreaming of that for the rest of my life! I can't remember the bartenders name, but she was lovely and extremely helpful!

9/30/23 - Nice Brewery. Lots of seating. My fiancé got a flight and chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tender and fries were pretty good. I loved the atmosphere of the place. Would enjoy to come back if we visit Maine again.

I keep my reviews short and sweet! We loved that the prices were very reasonable and they had plenty of options to select from. I prefer seltzers and they had a couple low sugar options which were both very good! My husband got the summer flight and we liked all of them but didn’t love any of them. Fortunately, we didn’t dislike anything we tried! There was also a ton of seating and the servers were very nice and quick! We didn’t wait long at all; however we were there at 2pm on a Tuesday, so I imagine it’s not usually that busy. I do think it’s important to note that this is a progressive establishment. We don’t mind that at all, but I know for others it can be off putting. So if gender neutral bathrooms, Black Lives Matter signs and other flags would make you shop elsewhere this place isn’t for you. Again, we don’t mind at all and enjoyed our time here very much!! We do like to give others a heads up who like to spend money at places that align with their beliefs!

First time visiting the brewery. Happens to be one of my son's favorite places to visit while in Portland. We arrived just as it opened on a Sunday and people were already waiting to go in, always a good sign. Had to try Swish and Substance which are my favorite beer from these guys. We ended up buying T shirts and hats as well. Staff was great, very professional and personable. Very cool place to visit. We didn't try the food which everyone else was ordering as just passing thru. Worth a visit.

Had a really fun dinner at Bissell Brothers! The outdoor seating looked perfect for warm weather, but the inside was just as cool. Absolutely loved the chicken sandwiches & fries we ordered!! Very juicy and crispy chicken with delicious flavor! Would return again soon to try the wings and other drinks!

Loved our visit to Bissell Brothers Brewery! My partner said that the wings he ordered were the best he's had east of Western NY and also the Hearts of Pine IPA he ordered was perfect. I enjoyed my lunch and thought my Bissell Breeze Hard Tea was good 😊 was a big fan of it not being carbonated.

Nice area to sit and relax and enjoy a beer. Easy too to order online then head over to pick up your beer. Order ready in minutes! Really nice brewery. Just remember to leave someone in the car or pay the meter!

This place is soooo cool!! They have so many beers on tap, the merch is out of this world, they have food and multiple seating areas indoors and out. If you are an hour away or less, add it to your list!!!! As newer brewery owners, they give us lots of new ideas. We love it here.

Bissell Brothers is hands down one of the best breweries around. Every time I visit, the atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the beers are consistently outstanding. Their selection is creative yet balanced, offering something for everyone, whether you’re into hoppy IPAs, smooth lagers, or unique seasonal brews. The quality and care they put into their craft really shines through in every pour. It’s not just about the beer either—the vibe is relaxed and inviting, making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends or unwind after a long day. Always looking forward to my next visit!

This was, hands-down, the BEST dining experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. I have very many dietary restrictions (Vegan, GF, allergic to soy, sesame, garlic,+more). The kitchen was very happy to work with me and accommodate my needs. I have a passion for plant-based culinary artistry, and these guys really know what they're doing. I was dining alone for my birthday and the staff here really took amazing care of me. Do yourself a favor and stop in here while you're in Portland, you won't regret it. I can't wait to stop in again!! Thanks so much for making my trip 10x better!!

Great wine, cocktails and small plates. The entree was excellent but a little short on veg. Service was exceptional with great conversation and excellent suggestions. We will definitely return!!

We came for our honeymoon dinner and were seated right away without a reservation on a Saturday at 7:15. I can’t conceive why this restaurant isn’t booked up every single night—it’s the best dinner we’ve had on our trip, and probably in years. Each dish and cocktail was perfectly balanced in flavor, and the staff (server, host, and all the kitchen staff we passed on our way through the restaurant) were so welcoming. Special shout out to our server, Jacob, who helped me find a drink to fit my preferences perfectly and was just so kind and outgoing. We were recommended by a local for a “very nice dinner at an affordable price” and Chaval blew us away!

We stopped in for dinner at the bar and had a great time! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious but the service was what we were really impressed by. Asher and the rest of the team were knowledgeable, friendly and had great attention to the detail.

We had a very nice dinner at Chaval! Compared with the prices at several high-end restaurants in town, Chaval was also moderate. We will be happy to return. Highlights were the deviled eggs (****), the scallop special (****), the grilled shishito peppers (****), the autumn salad (***), and the cocktails, particularly Good Night and Good Luck (****). The moments we got to interact with Charles added greatly to our experience. There were a couple of misses. When we made the reservation, we mentioned it was for a special occasion. That was evidently not communicated to our server. We sat in the nice back room, which is quieter than the front room, but service to the back patio was through the outside door which conveyed quite chilly air into the space—I never took off my jacket. All in all a good experience, and the pluses were greater than the misses. We will be back!

hands down, one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. our server, scott c., was knowledgeable, gracious, and so kind. he made great recommendations and we were delighted with our meal, the drinks, and the ambiance. if the weather allows for sure dine on the patio, it’s magical. thanks to the host, waitstaff and chefs for making the final meal on our little jaunt to portland so special. we will be back! we’re already dreaming about it.

The best cocktail bar in Portland, hands down. Was a little sad at first about the Reno because the old look was so nostalgic for us, but we’ve been a few times since then and it’s grown on us. Popcorn is a definite order and the cocktails are always amazing. Service never misses.

My favorite cocktail bar got more cozy. We love Portland Hunt and Alpine but have moved away from Portland but love returning for a white noise, green eyes and other cocktails. We heard they changed ownership and were pleasantly surprised of the cozy remodel, cute napkins and same great menu and service.

Our drink was good, the pretzels were tasty, the cook was nice, atmosphere seemed like it could've been cool if the bartender wasn't so rude. When you're competing against so many incredible bars and restaurants in such a cool town it's important to have your service stand out among the rest. At first we thought she was just unpleasant in general then we saw her interact with some guests really well and with others she was being blatantly rude. We won't be back.

Fun spot for quick cocktails and/or dinner. Bonecrusher is spicy and cooling at the same time. Green Eyes is simple, easy to drink and slightly tart. Charcuterie board has mostly vinegar foods but the cabbage is the standout with the rye! The was the first place on our stop and the oyster here were perfect! When we first arrived, I was a bit underwhelmed with the inside but we stayed and I am really happy that we did.

Had such a lovely time at woodford, the ambiance is laid back and relaxed but still chic in this diner setting. The food is innovative- loved the cherry salad- and the burger and sundae were really delicious. Great semi-casual date spot. Also loved having a booth!!

My husband and I went to Woodford for dinner on a recent trip to Portland. We had a reservation (it was a Thursday night) and were seated promptly. Our server was nice and attentive, but I have to be honest and say that for a place that was a semifinalist for a James Beard hospitality award, it wasn't the over the top great service we were expecting, there were other places we had stellar service at on this trip. The service wasn't bad by any means, but when it's touted on the website that they were James Beard nominated for hospitality, we just had higher expectations. The cocktails were good, I had the Emergency Margarita and my husband had the Best Beloved G&T. For an appetizer, we shared some oysters, which were very fresh and tasty. We also shared a salad of spring greens and shaved radishes, the creamy dressing was incredible! For my main, I had mussels and fries, the broth that the mussels were in was delicious and the mussels were perfectly cooked. My husband had the duck and while it was very good, we were a bit disappointed that it didn't come with a side (they were more garnishes) for the price. We shared the chocolate pudding for dessert, which was super rich and very good, I also had a grasshopper cocktail, which was pleasantly minty and refreshing.

We came to Woodford F&B for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience! The food was excellent and they had options for a range of dietary needs. The drinks were great too - don’t miss out on trying their mocktails! But the real standout was the service. Our server, Kat, was a delight. She was kind, efficient, and clearly enthusiastic about providing the best possible customer experience. The hostess was similarly great, and I can’t remember the last time I had such an all-around positive restaurant experience. I would highly recommend Woodford F&B and hope to return soon myself.

Staff truly elevated this from “wow this food is awesome” to “this whole dinner is fantastic!” Warm, friendly, and so helpful. The specialty cheese was incredible as were the mussels. Loved the whole experience!

We had a reservation enjoy the atmosphere had a couple beers. We all ordered burgers with the french fries they came out fabulous. We had a wait a little long for the burgers, but we were there at the peak hour. Spoke to the manager. He was very courteous sent over a couple desserts on the house for making us wait. Definitely try. The burger was amazing.

Food is consistently great even if it is a little too fancy for me. Still artfully prepared. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to squeeze in at the bar. Bartenders were slammed when we arrived and a little curt. Got noticeably friendly the longer we stayed and the rush passed. We did have to wait a little to order. The atmosphere is really interesting. It's a cross between pool, dentist office, diner, and high end city bar. My only complaint about is that it can get loud and hard to hear the person next to you. Very sweet little place with devoted locals.

We're regulars. Best burger in town. Good cocktails. We generally sit at the bar - the bartender is usually welcoming, friendly, and appropriately attentive. But this time not so much. We haven't seen this one before. He was surly, rude, ignored us, was inattentive, and smarmy. Ruined the experience. I believe in generously tipping, but almost shorted him. We might try again, but another experience like that and we won't be back.

Not that I need to review this place but it is seriously hands down one of the best spots for Asian in Portland, if not all of New England. We had friends visiting from Sydney, Australia (where there is ample good asian) and they loved this place so much they insisted on coming here 3x during their 1 week trip. It's Japanese bar food done so well with lots of local seasonal stuff. We came in for the tempura fiddleheads tonight but threw in some of our usual favs (agedashi tofu!), some new stuff (broiled oyster, kushi katsu), and was really hard to resist our usual JFC (japanese fried chicken). We got crazy lucky getting seated immediately at the bar w/o reservations but reservations are highly recommended, otherwise put your name on the list and grab a drink/walk around Washington Ave.

Wow. What a delight for the senses this meal was. Flavors were powerful and unique and full of umami. The mushroom salad was a highlight, the broiled oyster scrumptious, rice ball soup and crudo and tuna also fantastic. Service lovely and space was airy. We enjoyed sitting at a picnic table people watching on the sidewalk. I look forward to going back.

Izakaya Minato was delicious! The local Bluefin Belly Crudo was a great starter rich and buttery. The Motoyaki Oyster was my favorite dish. It was sweet, salty and had the perfect texture, one of the best oyster preparations I've had. The Beef Yuki was another one of our favorite dishes, it had a nice gochujang flavor and the beef was very tender. We finished with the Kamo Yaki Udon and the Shashimi. The Udon was great as was the Sashimi. We ordered most of the menu for 3 with drinks and our bill was under $200 I was shocked, this resturant is a great value! I would highly recommend Izakaya Minato if your looking for japanese food in Portland!

Wow wow wow, the oysters are a must try here! Loved this place so much. There’s limited seating available, so I recommend getting there before 7pm to put your name down. We got there around 7:30 and were not seated until 8:30, but there are a lot of cute breweries around to kill time. We did the omakase option which was well worth the price and allows you to try lots of seafood and some of the meat options. For two people, we left very full. Our favorite dishes were the oysters, the salad surprisingly, and the karage.

Really amazing. Ordered the chef selection meal where they brought out multiple courses. It was all delicious and well paced and I was happy not to make any decisions on what to order.

Had to sit on this for a while to make sure I was being rationale… this is hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. Bib gourmand minimum, Michelin 1 star more likely. This is my 10.0 on Beli The omakase was $45ish per person and had the BEST quality food and we left stuffed. Every dish was incredible, I can’t pick a favorite. The oysters with the (if I remember) miso custard were something I’ve never tasted and think about daily. I’d fly in from NYC for a night just to spend another date night here. Highly recommend if you’re in town. I went to find photos but couldn’t because I was so infatuated with the food.

As I approach the restaurant with my harmonica, many people enjoyed my music as I got to the front I exit to the left, and I had a margarita with many many happy people at the bar I proceeded with my family down into the wonderful area that looked like it was a paradise. We proceeded to have an amazing Friday chicken. It was good. I like it. for my tummy I really liked it. It was yummy yummy for my tummy. I can’t wait to go back again.

We hosted our wedding welcome party at Austin St and we’re so glad we did! I don’t know who was more obsessed, us or our guests. Their space is beautiful, their beers are great, and their team is awesome. Can’t beat the indoor/outdoor vibes and the bocce ball & fire pits. They were so easy to work with and super queer friendly. Whether you’re thinking of stopping in for a quick drink or thinking of hosting a private event here, just do it! You won’t regret it!

If you can call a taproom chic, this is it. So sleek but still cozy and welcoming. Their fruited selection is outstanding. Huge shoutout to Bethany for fantastic service and lovely conversation🫶🏽

Austin Street Brewery is easily one of the best breweries in Portland, and it’s not hard to see why. Their draft list is always a perfect mix of classic favorites and exciting new releases, making every visit feel both familiar and fresh. Whether you’re in the mood for a crisp pale ale, a juicy IPA, or something experimental, there’s always something worth savoring. During my visit, they were even running a case sale, which felt like hitting the beer lover’s jackpot—great quality and great value all in one stop. The atmosphere at Austin Street is another highlight. You can grab a seat indoors and enjoy the laid-back, friendly vibe, or head outside to the cozy patio, where gas fire pits keep things warm and inviting even on chilly evenings. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with friends or just relax with a pint. I can’t wait to come back and see what they’re pouring next!

Staff super friendly. Prices normal. Locale is fun and indoor or outdoor hanging out. Tons of games and community fun can be had here. Bellafina Procceco is great, dry, not sugary. Obsolete Vernacular is soooo good. DDH patina is a bit watery, although it looks like juice, see pic. The Rally Session-like is fab! Many drink options are in cans to go. See pic. Didn't eat here, but many others are. If we lived here, would return very often.

Checked Austin Street out on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Super cute place with lots of plants and big glass windows. They had a DJ which I appreciated - but it was all pretty clubby which didn’t match the vibe inside. Beer was okay, charcuterie board was overpriced

The PB&J Gunner Runner is the best flavor-added stout I think I have ever had. They also sell Cape Whoopies from next door, after they’re closed. We had a flight and enjoyed all 4 offerings. Small place, worth a stop. Wish I could’ve taken home some of the PB&J stout. That one alone was worth the stop.

Here on a great friend overnight trip. Great atmosphere. Cider and beer is great.

Stopped by while on vacation to grab some beer to take home. Their selection was good - although parking can be limited during peak times. Definitely add them to the list of breweries to check out in Portland.

Excellent beer in urban setting. Modern vibe in a chill space. A variety of sitting arrangements, tables, couches, bar. Video screens with music or nature scenes. Beer is excellent and during the day, quiet.

Hidden gem! Nestled in South Portland Maine.. amazing beers! Very cool staff. Super knowledgeable. Love the vibe. They also agreement’s with great restaurants. Love that. Try them.. you have a great great time!
