Very dog friendly. Warm welcome to visitors. Eclectic music and interior. Cheesy chips were great. Beer fayre was good. No water in taps in ladies loos on the day we went.

What a great wee pub on the hill! We visited on a Sunday evening and walked into what felt like Lottie and Miles' living room! Really cosy and inviting, with an eclectic display of artworks and fairy lights hanging all around. All the staff were friendly and helpful and busily preparing for that night's gig. And we were kept amused by the two dogs, Fernando and Margo, who completed the homely throng! It's a fab place for a gig, of which they host many. The acoustics are really clear and the sound engineer really knows her stuff. Check out their program for the next couple of months. They have a great selection of real ales and beers, (of which sadly I couldn't partake because we'd driven down from Birmingham), but the low/non alcohol offering was varied so there was no trouble choosing an alternative. Food comes in the shape of burgers and pizzas. The menu may be small but it is perfectly formed! We went for the Spanish pizza which was loaded with delicious toppings on a thin crust base. The burgers looked mouth watering, but we'll have to try those next time. Do yourselves a favour and pay them a visit if you're near Stroud. You won't be disappointed!!

The most lovely pub with delicious pizzas and a fantastic selection of drinks. The friendly team will always give you such a warm welcome and make you feel like you're having a drink in Stroud's living room. This pub is one of the many highlights of moving here and I'm so happy to be part of the wonderful Prince Albert community. Also, a fantastic pub quiz which - if you win - will have the pleasure of hosting!

Amazing local pub. Friendly bartenders as well as patrons. We were in town during their annual Beer Fest and it provided a wide variety of real ales, ciders, and perries to go along with an eclectic bunch of live bands and a couple of local food vendors.

No pub better represents the quintessential qualities of Stroud than the Prince Albert. It is a true community hub, warm and welcoming, where you can snuggle in and enjoy the atmosphere - rather like sharing a favourite room at home with other people of all kinds who are happy to chat and have a laugh! In other words, a gem. No wonder it's such a much-loved institution in the Five Valleys.

I was taken to Stroud brewery by a local. I am a fan of craft beer and cider and this place will not disappoint! They have a main tab room bar. Bench style Bavarian seating with some booths and an open kitchen (serving hundreds of wood fire pizzas which looked amazing) It has welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and a range of non beer drinks from those who aren’t beer lovers. What I liked is that there was a range of strengths in the beers served. On tap were a 0.5 and 2.5 beer to offer less boozy options. The beers made on site are great. The wheat beer special was a real highlight for me, on par with the European wheat beers in Germany / Belgium. The 2.5 season citrus beer was also very quaffable. What makes this place is community. There are postered everywhere for local clubs, bands, associations and events. My friend tells me they hosted Stroud Pride and I saw yoga, gigs, reading clubs all advertised. The outside area on the canal is well thought out and will be amazing in the summer and there is a balcony bar upstairs. (Booked for a wedding) Highly recommend as a place to spend an afternoon at the weekend. They also showed the six nations so it’s always a good place in my book ;). Will look to return when visiting again.

My first ever visit here my partner had researched to visit whilst we were walking the canal. Very different and unique and I particularly like the vibe. Plenty of posters of events on which I will be attending. We were able to order food even though it was a Saturday afternoon and found a table,ordered pizza which was very nice. Wasn't the greatest coffee I've had if I am honest could be improved. Toilets were quirky and clean. My only gripe I don't know if it had been a busy day but staff did not seem overly enthusiastic, not a single smile,even walking in and leaving passed several staff no acknowledgement,now normally I would walk right out at such things but put it down to being a Saturday afternoon,but could do with improving you never know who is walking in that door or leaving and what kind of Google reviewer they are!!😉 I will be returning though

Great place next to the canal , friendly staff , relax , spent hours without releasing that your there . Don’t go! Youl definitely will loose half a day there. Food is great ! No doubt about it but menu are alittle small but that also make it great , awesome . Go for the beers and stay for the relaxing atmosphere next to the cannel . Absolutely fantastic venue. We had the pulled pork rolls which were amazing. They even catered for vegans and coeliacs. All communication was with Ellie and she was fantastic and always ready to answer any queries. Ben made sure we had everything we needed on the day, also the bar staff were amazing.

Planned family meeting for early dinner on Saturday night. No pork or chicken dishes were available for any menu item, which limited our choices severely. The Brewery was busy and had a great atmosphere but the food experience was slightly disappointing and service was very slow, even at only 6pm. Drinks, as expected, were fine!

service terrible, waited 30mins for desert. no serviettes given with main meal and brownie had cardboard in it. response- i did tell them about the cardboard, they said sorry and walked off. yes was nice fair play to hobbs they make a great brownie.. 👍

Decent stay in the coach house here, seems recently renovated but maybe not quite finished! It's good value. The pub does great food and had great service, but maybe the chef needs to use more salt.

I recently stayed at The Old Lodge, and it was an outstanding experience. The surroundings were beautiful, and the hospitality was exceptional. Vlad, one of the chefs at the Old Fleece, truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and prepared a meal that was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay and quality food.

I popped in from a long walk in Selsey Common for lunch - staff was really friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. I had duck breast and chocolate-orange semifreddo and it was perfect - it's a shame I had to go back next day because I probably would become a regular!!!

Really lovely place with an interesting menu and great staff. Chicken supreme was delicious as was the baked Camembert and the starter of pickled veg - lovely to see vegetables being celebrated on a menu.

We went for late lunch yesterday and we were very disappointed. When our food arrived there was only the steak, pepper sauce and a small bowl of chips, when paying £34 for a steak. We have been to the Old Fleece many times but will not go again!

I was transferred here from the ‘sister’ hotel, The Old Lodge at Minchinhampton. I had booked that hotel as I was travelling on my own and wanted somewhere to stay that was in a quiet location. The day before my stay they telephoned to say there was a problem with my room, so my booking was being transferred to The Old Fleece! He said they would put a voucher in the room as a thank you for being understanding! This didn’t happen, although the bar gave me a free £3.50 cup of coffee. What a disappointment! On a main road, no breakfast available (I was offered breakfast at The Old Lodge… but who wants to get up, pack up and drive 5 miles in the wrong direction before a meeting in Gloucester at 9.30am?!) No television in the bedroom to put me to sleep after working until 10.00 pm, and traffic noise all night. The bed was so hard it felt as though I was sleeping on the floor. There was a coffee pod machine… half full of water ( how long had that been in there) but no instructions. I don’t drink tea.. so I had to beg some instant coffee from the people I was with in Nailsworth during the evening, or I would have had no refreshment at all on the morning. It was £20 less expensive than my original booking but it was definitely not worth the money! The only saving grace was the steak salad meal which was delicious! I wouldn’t stay here again!

We called the venue and at short notice went to eat at the venue. The pub is up a small access lane and the staff were absolutely excellent from entering the premises to serving our meals nothing was too much trouble. Georgie, Minnie and Molly thank you for your excellent food it was a pleasure to consume. The views out the window are spectacular. If you are looking for a local pub to sit down and eat try this venue. Worth a visit midweek as quieter and the lounge area a nice country kitchen look.

Popped in for a pint of Uley, friendly staff, really well kept ales, obvious lots of care goes into serving a cracking pint.

Really lively pub on the Friday evening we visited and a great crowd of people. Seemed to be mostly locals as everyone looked like they knew each other. Great beer selection and there were some excellent nibbles on the bar which appeared early on in the evening. Space inside and outside of the pub to sit and relax.

After the price increase that I understand but trying to order and a 43 min wait for soup is completely outrageous people were getting aggressive this restaurant needs a revamp. The food management should be here to help or the GM should come in and help.

Had a very good value for money Sunday lunch. Book ahead to see what's is being served that Sunday. It cycles between beef, lamb, pork (and one other) so you know what you're going to get. Friendly atmosphere, friendly proprietor. Quite loud but it is a pub afterall.

Visited on a hot Sunday afternoon, one of the very few places open in Stroud at this time! Lovely bar area, friendly staff, good prices. Seems a very homely and relaxed place.

It has been a long time since I have been in such a quality pub. The Cask Ale is in pristine condition and the service is very friendly. Nice atmosphere in the beer garden.

Probably the best pub in Stroud town itself. A little walk up the hill from the town centre. Nice people, decent atmosphere, good beers and a rear garden. Most recently went along on a Wednesday evening because everywhere else seemed to be closed.

Totally lovely pub. Frequented by old and young alike. Friendly bar staff. Fire in the winter. Never eaten there but unusually it’s not trying to be a gastro pub. More just a really nice pub.

Went for an early doors drink on a Friday evening. The service was friendly and efficient and the drinks as you would expect. They were also serving Pizza so we ordered 2 to share between 3 of us and they were excellent... So much so that the photo wasn't taken until we were down to the last slice!

Popped over to Stroud for a day out book shopping. Loved the Gloucester lounge so popped in Curio. Really good service, took my allergies seriously and advised me on other options I could have. Or though busy they served me quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Love the layout of this place, it has a great atmosphere. A extensive menu with lovely sounding dishes - if you can't pick one, you're likely to find it in the tapas section (3 for £12.75). The nasi goreng was delicious!! Nice touch that the dogs were able to come in too 😊👌

Excellent staff, really welcoming. Dog friendly, Willow loved all the fuss and attention. Food was delicious, well presented, tasty and good portion size. Definitely worth visiting if your in Stroud.

I have visited this restaurant many times, each time the food is delicious. There is a variety of vegan foods aswell as gluten free. The vegan dishes are amazing and full of flavour. The restaurant is decorated nicely and they have a rustic sort of vibe going. The tables have QR codes that allow you to order online to your table if you don't want to speak to anyone, which is great, and the wait for food is never more than 30 minutes.

My brother and I stayed last night for one evening. The hotel was excellent, comfortable, clean and in a very convenient place. Our full English breakfast was outstanding! But what was really nice was all the staff were very very friendly and extremely professional. The whole experience was a joy and my brother and I will definitely be back. Thank you Clothiers Arms

Four of us enjoyed a stay at the Clothiers Arms. We received a warm welcome and were soon in the busy, friendly bar for late afternoon drinks. The pub had a nice vibe and it was good to see it was dog friendly - lots of likeable canine visitors! We moved through to the restaurant - Fish & Chip Friday! Super food, including generous starters. Our room was clean and comfortable and we were greeted in the morning with a terrific breakfast. Every interaction with the team at The Clothiers was a positive one. We’d happily stay again. Thanks for delivering such an enjoyable experience.

Lovely friendly pub in a great location for walking and exploring the town. I stayed the night here, in a beautiful clean and comfortable room, food was fantastic, freshly cooked breakfast in the morning, and I had dinner here - a lovely bit of fish with an amazing saffron and dill sauce. Staff couldn't be more welcoming and helpful.

Nice English pub. Extremely friendly staff. Very nice meals. In fact, the full English breakfast would have to be the best I've had in my 3 weeks visiting England. The room was a tad noisy early on, but that's to be expected when you're staying overnight at a pub. There's plenty of parking spaces too. Overall, a wonderful experience from start to finish during my stay here. 10/10

Stayed for two nights walking Cotswold Way. Staff outstanding, very helpful and pleasant. It’s lovely being greeted with a welcoming face, young blonde girl behind the bar, who also helped me with coins for laundromat. Had a meal one night, excellent, and two breakfasts were fabulous. Cleaning lady helped with brush for my boots, waitress in the morning delightful

Food was amazing, I had a Cajun burger.. Best I have had in a while. The team serving were friendly and helpful. Indoor and outdoor seating and a kids play area... Great place to go..

I ordered for my husband and I, it would of been nice to eat together. My pasta was stone cold. Took it back and a replacement sent out this time with all the ingredients (rocket salad on top which I didn't have in the cold one) Will not go back . Whether you're a wetherspoons or not service should be the way in all pubs serving food. Get your facts together for goodness sake.

Yet another Wetherspoons visited- number 106 of still open pubs. Visited Stroud today, so decided to stop off for Breakfast. Pleasantly surprised to see the excellent value 'Top Plates, Low Rates' deals operating here. Medium Vegetarian Breakfast was a very reasonable £3.14. Breakfast was washed down with a pint of Bowman Black Drop for £2.34. For the prices paid, you really cannot do any better elsewhere. Breakfast was a little slow at arriving, however it was well presented and cooked. In fact better than some Wetherspoons pubs I've paid nearly one and a half time more, for the same breakfast. Beer was on good condition and glass was wiped by bar staff before handing over to remove excess liquid on outside of glass. Good service! Definitely worth a visit if in Stroud centre.

My recent experience of this Wetherspoons and others I've tried have felt they are not the value they once were The selection and quality of food has gone down hill. My meal was just warm enough to eat and the chips were over cooked. I'd likely only consider going again, if meeting friends for drinks, which to be fair is very rare.

Not a bad Wetherspoons my drink was cold and the staff were friendly. The interior is done out in wood with fake old-fashioned train overhead luggage racks,which are a nice touch.There's a beautiful stained glass window on your way to the toilet which amazinglyis downstairs, but everything looks like it could do with a spruce up and clean.Still worth a visit if like me you love everything Wetherspoons.

Turned up for food and bought a beer on a Wednesday evening only to be told they weren't doing any, left our beers and ate at the Curio Lounge. Returned later for a quick pint which was excellent.

Found this hidden gem of a pub whilst waiting for the train. A selection of nine beers were available for prices between £3.80 and £4.60. Beer in good condition too. Shame I wasn't around on a Sunday, as the Sunday Lunch menu looks good for £11 for two courses, £12 for three. Worth a visit if in Stroud and you enjoy a great pint of real ale, cider, or perry!

A must for real ale drinkers. Great choice of guest beers. The food is top-notch, very tasty, and generous portions. At a reasonable price. Also, child - and dog friendly ( well behaved, of course)

Never before have I witnessed a Manager speaking to one of his colleagues so badly. I’m not sure of the young ladies name who served us yesterday (she was amazing) but she needs to find an employer that respects her. I wouldn’t go back there ever again.

Wonderful ale house. It has the best selection of beer you could imagine. Literally something for everyone. Good that they serve 1/3 pints so you can try lots of different beers. If I'm ever back in Stroud I will make sure this is top of the itinerary. Brilliant

We held a birthday party here. Steve replied to all enquiries and provided a great service. They even took care of the decorations. The buffet was superb and nothing skimped. It seemed really nice they all really enjoyed providing the hospitality. Thanks Chris & Alex. Thank you Steve and Jools

Julie and Steve have the best food and hospitality. We were only passing through but would definitely return if we are ever in the area. Great value, delicious food.

Called in here on Saturday for a drink with my wife and a friend having seen their posts on Facebook. We sat in the courtyard garden and ordered drinks from the young, but highly capable staff. We saw others having lunch and, seeing the quality coming out of the kitchen, decided we would too. We ordered the bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich which came with crisps and coleslaw and two prawn cocktails. They were all delicious! This place is also dog friendly and our dog was offered a gluten free sausage on the house. We also met the owners who came over to have a chat. All in all this was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend a visit.

Absoloutely beautiful place , amazing food so delicious and really nice to be able to chat to the chef... she was a real gem ! We first stumbled across this restaurant during the fringe festival back in August when we moved here. We liked it so much, we went back on the second day. We've been back to visit a couple of times since and everything is as perfect as it was then. The customer service is always outstanding, the food is super scrummy, we just wish you were open more often! Thank you for your amazing hospitality and super tasty food!

Great drinks, reasonably priced, and so much more. The owners Julie and Steve are so friendly and are truly special. I came into town on foot with two bags on my shoulders and stopped in for Wi-Fi and a beer. I ended up talking with them for over an hour just laughing away. They called me a cab so I wouldn’t have to walk to my air B and B. I felt so welcomed, tourists and locals alike must check out this place!

More than just a pub. A community venture. Julie and Steve have created a haven for the people of Stroud in the middle of a beautiful courtyard. Wonderful food, superb staff and a respectful atmosphere. Fabulous music and good vibrations. You won't find better in Stroud. Andrew x

Rough, poorly decorated sports style pub which has the worst colour scheme I have seen in a pub for some time. No food available, not really children or woman friendly. Bare with no atmosphere and completely taken over by TV screens at each end of the Bar. It’s such a shame as the location is really central the building is historic and could have been renovated in a really sympathetic way but they’ve done the opposite. The owners haven’t got a clue 🤦‍♀️ Even the owners dogs didn’t look like they wanted to be there…

Real ale in good company. A great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of a genuine British pub. Even though I was the only Australian in the place while the battle for the Ashes was on the telly, the banter was friendly, the locals welcoming and cheery. If you're in Stroud make sure you pop in for a pint or two.

Was a really good time. We didn't stay too long, but I believe some music was being set up as we saw a car outside unloading speakers etc, atmosphere was great and that's with us missing the music. I have no doubt if we had stayed, we'd have enjoyed the whole night. Definitely give this place a try

Nice pub. Good selection of beers, ciders, ales and more. Live music normally in the main bar which has always been good whenever ive visited. Side bar opens up later in the evening with a dj and dance floor. Vibes normally good there too. Decent outside area with plenty of benches. Overall nice place to go

Brilliant pub. Staff are so polite and cheerful. The Queen Vic doesn't serve food but you are welcome to bring your own in and eat it whilst watching the Sports on Sky or BT Sports

So pleased to spend our Sunday afternoon here! Such a lovely place run by such nice people...they switched on the TV for a cricket match before the place even opened. You don't experience such a kindness often, so go there you will be delighted and you will also get value for money as a bonus!

So lovely! Selected The Bell because we intended to walk the Selvley Loop and were very pleased. Comfortable spacious room, nice breakfast and accommodating staff. Didn't eat any other meals there since they're closed Mondays, but I'm looking forward to coming back this way.

Did not stay all night but had dinner in the pub. Great food and drinks. Also met the best local man! He had us laughing all night! Friendly staff, good food, great drinks, what’s not to love.

We stay at The Bell Inn every year; superb food and drink, excellent staff, dog friendly stays and lots of great walks into the Cotswolds nearby. Really couldn't recommend it highly enough. A real gem.

We wanted somewhere special for our daughter's 40th birthday and The Bell gave us just that. We started the evening with drinks outside so that we could enjoy the spectaular views and then we had private dining in their cosy private room called The Snook. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and staff and they really made the evening special. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.

Took my mum here in the week. We went for dinner around 8pm. It was fairly quiet. Excellent service, polite and friendly staff. Nice decor. We ordered the seafood sharing platter as a gluten free option. It came with glutenfree bread. I was worried it wouldn't be enough for 2 people but I wasnt disappointed, there was more than enough for two. We both really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Beautifully cooked and presented... Disability accessible with a disabled toilet on the ground floor for those that require it. As mentioned above, Gluten-free options available.

We stopped here after a quick search for high rated restaurants in the area and were not disappointed. Sadly, as travelers, most of the places that have been recommended to us were pubs and fried fish joints. The Corner House was a turn for the better! The food here honestly did come out quite nicely plated and the taste was a pleasant surprise! Flavors were nicely balanced and full of delicious flavor. The prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are great, and the service was excellent. This is a nicer place to go for a better dining experience with a fair amount of menu options. The Monk Fish was our favorite. We write more reviews on our EatWanderExplore blog.

Thursday 24/04/2025:- My first visit to the Corner House since it moved from its original site on the London Road to Union Street (previously Birch). Shared a seafood platter for lunch with a friend which was very nice. Our server Antonio was personable and very helpful. Not many customers despite the restaurant offering 25% off food. The autistics are challenging with other people's chatter and laughter reverberating around the room. Not for the hard-of-hearing.

Returning from France or Italy or wish to go, then this is the restaurant to visit. A welcome small menu allowing the chefs to concentrate on quality. Excellent presentation of food and brilliant service. We had a sharing seafood platter. A test of any restaurant is the quality of the calamari - first class, cooked to perfection. A nice selection of lagers\beer on tap with again a small selection of good wines. Middle range cost for high range food, a serious competitor to Cheltenham restaurants. Well done the corner house. An update as we have this week enjoyed dinner for the first time at this restaurant with two friends. What a treat, faultless cuisine and a very good small menu. Presentation of the food is very impressive. Staff are terribly efficient and always helpful. We went on Friday night and my goodness we are not the only people who think this restaurant is at the top of the game. It was very busy clearly the staff were used to this. A great buzz to the restaurant. A lovely evening thank you Corner House.

I've eaten in some very nice places but I have to say the corner house blew me away! Some of the best food I've ever tasted, staff were very friendly and helpful, building was very cool, cocktails were fantastic and it was exceptional value. Cannot recommend this place enough!

A second visit to this restaurant and if anything it was better than before. The welcome was warm, service was just the right level of attentive, and most importantly the food was excellent. We often have issue having a vegan in the group and the menu wasn't looking too hopeful but there was a risotto starter which they offered to make vegan as a main course which went down very well. The waiter also had no problem with our small appetite person ordering a starter sized starter for her main course. The atmosphere is very relaxed and we felt under no pressure to hurry along or clear the table. I am sure that we will return soon.

Everything about our meal tonight was 5 star. The intentive waiter service the food the drinks. Absolutely flawless. Bravo bellisima!!

We came here for a family evening meal during the week and booked for 6pm. It is out in the countryside through windy roads but a nice car park and welcome when you arrive. A good choice of places to sit inside and outside and a nice atmosphere plus excellent service. A small selection of cask beers and wines. Also a small selection of food options with no ‘specials’ of the night - the menu is what you get… We chose starter and main course each plus a glass of beer or wine. The quality of the food was good, with the quantity being a little on the small side. The total came to over £30 per person which is not cheap. Overall a nice, pleasant experience…

Stayed locally and booked a table. Ended up sitting outside as it was so hot! Beautiful views and food to match. Service was great as well. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Im often disappointed sunday dinners out but this was great. The food was all really well done, crispy roast potatoes, very tasty cauliflower cheese, good portions and excellent, friendly service. Lovely pub with great views and good beer and drinks selection. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely charming, wonderful place to have lunch and a great cup of coffee and a pudding just minutes off the Cotswold Way! The service was warm and authentic. Food was homemade and delicious. I had homemade butternut squash soup and focaccia and my friend had an amazing grilled holoumi salad. Made us feel so welcome I want to move to Randwick!

We were staying within walking distance and phoned at 6:45pm on a Friday night and they managed to find us a table at 8:15pm. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and throughout our visit all the staff were friendly and polite. The menu had plenty of tasty sounding options. Whilst there was a bit of a wait for our food to arrive (this was explained on the menu due to the kitchen set up) it was well worth waiting for! It arrived hot, fresh and delicious. It was also reasonably priced. Highly recommend a visit

This pub was a real treasure to find on our Cotswold Way hike. It's a little off trail, but we'll worth it. Fantastic food and even better views.

Delicious meal in Stroud at this gem. We booked to go to a gig at the Sub rooms which are minutes away and was so impressed by the food. We shared all the small plates between two (as we couldn’t decide) and it was the perfect amount. The staff were doing a great job even though they were busy - friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go back.

Restaurant with roof terrace offering small and large plates, a few desserts and wide choice of drinks. Unfortunately opening hours were wrong so I didn’t have time to sit in and eat. A shame as it has a nice vibe and the staff were really welcoming and chatty. The nachos & beans had a good kick without being too hot, I’ve not had creamed corn before and enjoyed it. I wasn’t a big fan of the polenta chips personally. I look forward to eating in next time and sampling one of their curries. Dog friendly. Car park located nearby, I think it was free after 5pm.

We were totally blown away by the unique fusion flavours served up at Karibu. Owner and chef Sandeep is a master of craft and everything we ordered was spectacular, and made for. highly memorable meal. From the freshness of the ingredients used to the careful presentation, we loved every bite! Highly recommended - not just to vegans or vegetarians but anyone who enjoys high quality flavourful cuisine! Almost everything happened to be gluten free too, but naturally so - a delight for celiacs for sure.

Friendly staff, seating indoors across two levels, and outdoor seating on a roof terrace which gets lots of sun. Food is all vegan and delicious.

We had planned to have pizza in the pub, but they had run out so we ended up here due to limited options. What a find! Amazing! We are not vegetarian or vegan but the thai massamum was amazing! Beautifully presented, clearly made with love, it tasted great. We loved it. The staff were really good, friendly and welcoming and it was very comfortable and cosy. We will go back and we definitely recommend it.

Lovely friendly owner and faultless food - the fact that it's all vegan is an added bonus. Definitely a place I'd confidently take non-veggie and non-vegan friends. Waitress service was no frills and that's fine for a casual restaurant in my opinion. Will be back, thank you

Our favourite restaurant in Stroud. The sweet & sour cauliflower is particularly delicious. Staff are friendly and we've always experienced great food which is reasonably priced.We'd highly recommend.

Vegetable korma was SPICY. Service is terrible. Waited 20 minutes for poppadoms then waited another 30 minutes to have my order taken for mains. I ordered a garlic and cheese naan and a veg korma. I got a onion and cheese naan and a spicy veg korma. When I told the lady it was wrong she sent the chef out to argue and belittle me. I then called the boss over to tell him I would not be paying for the veg korma as they failed to re change it. I paid for the other £75 of my order. Just not the £5 side dish of the horrible disgusting spicy cold korma. I was then told to get out of the restaurant and told not never come back. I go to zeera weekly with family and spend approximately £70 - £80 a time. Very very disappointed with zeera after this and i definitely won’t be coming back

Clearly change management, food used to be top quality but now poor, tiny portions and salad with popadoms was onion and carrot, no seasoning. Also ordered for 7.15 came out at 7.25 - so had to pay for taxi to wait. This is the second time having a poor meal, pretty sure the owner/manager is the same guy who had it as spice house or something about 10 years ago and the food was poor then. Wouldnt recommend and will not use again

I was unsure coming here for the first time due to the negative reviews. I don’t know if staff have changed but I honestly don’t think we could have had a better experience. The food took about half an hour to come but that was fine for us and thinking to be expected where food is freshly prepared. Each dish was distinctly different, no generic base sauces or over use of food colouring. Really delicious, lovely flavours and textures and tested freshly cooked. Service was great, friendly, communicative and you can bring your own alcohol which makes a dinner out much cheaper. A great find, will definitely be going back.

Paired with the completely brilliant very attentive and accommodating staff made my experience fantastic.Visited this evening with my flatmate and will definitely be going back, I would highly recommend the banquet on offer. We booked online to dine in at 7pm on a Saturday, the place was empty without any music- never a good sign. We had to wait a long time to be given menus and our drinks order was never taken. The person who worked there was in the kitchen the whole time, presumably dealing with takeaway orders. In the 20mins we were there, we were given menus and a poppadom- food and drinks orders were never taken so we decided to pay for the poppadom and leave. I do not recommend dining here; customer service was non-existent.

Went for lunch because we were craving burgers and their burgers didn't disappoint. The wings were good but not special, and the food did take some time to arrive after we placed the order but it tasted good. Service was good as well as the server was very friendly.

I was served the most perfect burger - perhaps the best one I ever ate. The service was not only perfect but everyone was engaging warm and made us feel at home . Not a typical tourist experience. Just really really good food and people. Do not miss it .

Went there to enjoy their Steak Night and my 60th Birthday! Staff were welcoming and extremely attentive. They even had "Happy Birthday" being played when I was presented with my cake. They went out of their way to make my birthday dinner memorable. The food was excellent, well cooked and everyone in my party enjoyed theirs. Would definitely go again.

Vegan burger was delicious, freshly made, served hot and a good size. Service was very friendly and the outdoor seating offers lots of space, surrounded by plenty of plants. Wine list offers the basics, which is enough.

We were made to feel like an afterthought for our entire meal. A large party was being served when we arrived and the staff’s attention seemed entirely focused on them. When our food was eventually served, my wife’s fries did not arrive with the rest of the food and we were not offered sauces. We were not told anything about when or if we could expect the fries. When they did arrive 20 minutes later, we had to ask for sauces, even though we had mostly finished the rest of our meal. There was no apology for the delay. There was no check back, despite other tables being asked how they were getting on. The food was fine, but the service was bad. I don’t mind waiting for food when restaurants are busy, but the complete lack of communication and apology was unacceptable.

We went in on a Saturday and it had already been a busy night but the service & food was brilliant. They don't have starters on the menu so we requested some Sides to be served as starters which they did. They were great & set us up ready for the mains. Pork belly bites were melt in the mouth, chicken bites with the gravy mayo was lovely and fresh & the Jalapeno poppers were banging! The burgers were superb! Dont your time adding any sauces to the burgers until you have tried them how they are served first! The flavours were amazing and it definitely didn't need any additional sauces. 5 start food & 5 start service! Looking forward to my next visit, maybe try out the steak specials

Away on holiday on holiday, went in for a late drink. Was made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. The manager obviously didn’t want custom and made it clear we were not welcome. Once served ,which appeared to be a real inconvenience the manager then proceeded to whisper to a man at the end of the bar. I could hear the conversation and it was about myself and my party. Very disappointing and certainly won’t be returning. I wouldn’t recommend going in here unless you are a local because you won’t be welcome!

***£2.70*** for half a pint of lemonade from the gun, and there was so much scuzz on the glass I couldn't even drink it. There were specks of black on the inside of the glass and cloudy residue on the whole glass, which smeared when you ran your finger across it. If there is a glasswasher, I suggest you change the water. I work in a bar myself, and honestly, I felt embarrassed by the whole experience. Anyone visiting this pub, I suggest you stick to the alcohol deals they advertise outside and drink out of the bottle!

Fabulous Jubilee celebration. Fantastic customers and staff. We were just visiting and were made very welcome. Excellent Bon Jovi singer, who also sung a wide variety of other songs from all the decades.

No snack selection (2 crisps roast chicken or plain nearly out of date) it's Saturday night- nearly 10 and the place is empty. I've driven past a few times before 9 on a weeknight and it's been shut. Cant comment on food as not eaten here. Only 1 real ale (a selection of guest beers advertised).

I have read some of the reviews saying this is the best pub in Stroud. If It is then the rest must be woefull. The landlady or landladdy is rude .aggressive and has zero communication skills. She couldn’t wait to get our group out so she could have a lock in with her friends. This I don’t really mind, but it can be done in a nice way. Instead the landlady grabbed pints and was aggressive. If the brewery read this, be warned as when an incident happens don’t plead ignorance. Stay away

We had a wonderful time in the Lake District. The only issue I have is the use of the club house was not available to us due to Thay were holding a owner's night we were offered the use of the shop and a member of staff would get our order We had paid good money for this holiday and because not being able to complete our time at this site has somewhat spoilt our time at this location I feel that we should be compensated for not being complete our holiday it was more like a six day holiday not seven Regards Gary Barker

Went here tonight to enjoy a few beers in the sun. There was a drunk guy wandering about with a catheter dangling out of his shorts. I couldn't believe that the staff were still serving him alcohol. Totally disgraceful. The guy obviously had mental health issues. Decided to walk on by .

No children are alow in the pub and refuses alow family in to pub in the day time. Blame me for talk to the one of the bar staff say bad things about a staff i don't even know from nick the manager. Floor was dirty Florence and very sticky to walk on. Will not be going again. More noise you make pub make the wrong people will come make.vrey bad place to and no one will help them Ctv carmea in male and female toilets you don't have any privately when use the toilets and there male toilets beside the bar and a female toilets up 2 lots of stairs.

Brand new pub in town centre! Unique atmosphere and an owner(?)/manager who's openly discussing ideas like live music so definitely one to watch. Spoons like prices and skilled friendly bar staff.

Really nice and friendly place. I was staying for a couple of night in the area and had a great meal here. The Greek menu was a nice touch and the food itself was great. Very dog friendly and very friendly in general. I tried returning the next night but they were extremely busy - this is a good sign!! If I am back in the area, I would return here.

Room was functional beautiful pub and friendly atmosphere. Parking is a bit tight but we found a spot. Greek menu was brilliant and delivered quickly. This really exceeded expectations. Stayed for one night on the Cotswold Way: - room was clean - bed was perfect. Crisp clean sheets - hot shower with great water pressure - fantastic Greek food in the pub - lovely breakfast - such lovely people running the place - extra dog friendly

We had an excellent overnight stay here last weekend. We got a very warm welcome. The room was clean and tidy and the food is really excellent. We went for the Greek menu which was delicious. The staff work really hard and deserve to do well. Many thanks.

We stayed here for one night while doing the Cotswold way walk. The location was not convenient for us as it was off route however we will recommend when you do the walk to stay here. It is accessible via bus. The room was basic but fine. The couple running the place are so lovely. Service was great and personal. Thank you so much!

We visited the “New” Old Neighbourhood for the first time last night and had a wonderful evening. The renovation of the public areas and garden has been completed to a high standard—it’s clear a lot of care and thought went into it. Despite the rainy Good Friday weather, the place was full of locals enjoying the atmosphere, which made it feel warm, welcoming and fun! The Fish & Chip Pop-Up Supper was absolutely delicious—fresh, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A real highlight of the evening! I also loved the artwork by Kent & Co.—such a thoughtful touch. It’s great to see local artists being supported and it was lovely to enjoy a drink surrounded by beautiful scenes of Chalford and the surrounding area. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend a visit!

This newly refurbished pub is doing very well for itself. The food pop ups continue until the kitchens are refurbed (autumn). Good parking, but fills up quickly.

The Old Neighbourhood Pub serves one of the best freshly cooked Sunday lunches I’ve ever had. With a choice of slow-roasted lamb, roast pork with crackling, or roast sirloin of beef. The meat was plentiful, perfectly cooked, and of excellent quality. The selection of freshly prepared vegetables—including a standout cauliflower cheese—was superb, and everything was brought together beautifully with a jug of rich homemade gravy. There were four of us dining today, and we all agreed it was up there with the very best Sunday lunches we’ve ever eaten. Desserts were equally impressive. Between us we tried the crème brûlée, rhubarb and apple crumble with custard, and the Black Forest chocolate roulade with salted honeycomb. Each one was absolutely scrumptious. The pub itself has been refurbished to a very high standard, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and efficient, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back—highly recommended!

First time back since being overhauled and pleasantly surprised by how lovely they have made the place. Plenty of space inside and out. Looking forward to returning to try the food. I wouldn't be surprised if our rating increases

Cant wait come back! Great Cotswold pub vibe and was pleasantly quiet (For a Saturday lunch time) so no real need to book. Had a really nice and relaxed atmosphere. The service was 10/10 and food was amazing value for money. About £15-£20 for a main, so standard pub rates if you ask me, but the food was far from standard! Highly recommend the Mussels and Venison Pie. This Pub is definitely a hidden gem.

As locals, we waited so long for this! The staff are beyond accommodating, a proper suntrap beer garden for the summer, cosy in the winter - proper village pub vibes. The most amazing freshly cooked food, Sunday dinners are the best and so popular so be sure to book. Wes Rosie Aaron and team - you smashed it!

Been here several times since reopening. Food and service is excellent however, be careful where you sit for dinner as the bar can be very noisy with the early evening drinkers. Sadly I won’t be coming here again as it seems to have reverted back to the old days prior to closure. Especially with the late afternoon/early evening drinkers - loud laddish behaviour and foul language. Unacceptable when ladies were present. It’s also not ideal having to walk through the enclosed marquee area, full of cigarette smoke. Shame as it has potential. Suggest The Ship at Brimscombe or The Ram at Bussage.
