Very bad experience! Extremely expensive pre-cooked food. Tapas are priced as main dishes and badly cooked. Chewy shrimps and lobster, and two tiny croquetas spiced with bbq mix. Not worth it at all.

We visited my parents this weekend and decided to try out @baronkarlstad. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful located in an old bank and it feels luxury to enter the doors, far from an ordinary tapas restaurant where it almost always is more intimate. It's cool but we can imagine the acoustic being a big problem with the high ceiling and hard walls. Anyway, the food was good! Some dishes really good and some dishes a bit disappointing. The top three were the potatoes, the mushrooms and the fish taco. The disappointment was the Pata Negra ham, which tasted far from what I'm used to when it comes to quality. But overall we had a really pleasant evening.

The tapas are so small they have to put paper under the food to make it look fuller. Not to mention that is expensive! The food itself is ok but not exceptionnal for the price. Completly disconnected to what a tapas bar really is.

A decent number of amazing tapas. Plates comes in different sizes, each good for its kind. Friendly and professional staff, nice selection of beer and wine. We sat outside pretty well protected from heavy rain.

You go for the nature and surroundings and get a pleasant surprise in the accommodations and food. High value for money.

Baron is the famous and beautiful with its atmosphere and with the delicious meals..

A big and beautiful park for all the family. You find animals, playgrounds, a fountain, café, kiosk, and restaurant. There is a beach where you can swim, or you can go for a walk in the woods. Toilettes around the park. In winter you can ice skate! You can even bring your own food and grill it 😁

A big park and plenty of parking spaces (free of charge). Well kept and clean. You can take a small train which takes you around the park. There are few animals and coffee places. You can also enjoy kids theatre, just make sure to check their schedule first. A nice playground to enjoy for kids under age of 9.

Great outdoor parc. With areas for recreation and fun. Nice playground for the young. Also a small zoo and nature path. Also old buildings and a "nature room" with information regarding the local nature and wild life.

The best place for kids. Although parents are hot in the sun, children do not want to leave. There are many animals and the scenery is very nice.

Mariebergsskogen is a large park that offers visitors the opportunity to explore a variety of landscapes, including forests, meadows, and wetlands. There are several walking and biking trails that allow you to experience the park's natural beauty.

Been there during the Valborg celebrations. It is nice and a peaceful place with games for children. A good place to spend with your kids and family enjoying the cool breeze and nature.

I loved this place for the cozy atmosphere, super excellent service and more than delicious food. It was a real pleasure at all levels. Would love to visit this restaurant again and again. There's also a terrace with the stunning views for the warm season.

I ended up leaving after ordering a drink because no one came by to take my food order. I tried getting the attention of a group of staff who were chatting nearby, but unfortunately without any luck. Eventually, I decided it just wasn’t worth the wait. The place wasn’t even that busy, so I expected a bit more attention to service.

Really nice food and service. My only complaint is that all the tapas dishes came at the same time. Its quite hard to manage 13 dishes while they are still warm...

I tried several dishes and stayed full. It's great when you can try different foods instead of just one. I didn't really like the shrimp but everything else was delicious.

Very tasty ice cream! However, do not order a cone of ice, it's terribly overpriced (48 SEK for one scoop). Order a cup instead, you'll get twice the amount of ice cream for the same price.

Serves nice coffee, and a fantastic collection of self produced chocolates and ice creams.

Excellent, home-made gelato, with apparently an interest in bringing out experimental flavors (the strawberry-and-basil gelato seemed very interesting, but the siren song of other flavors drew me to them). The cakes and pralines seemed good, and they have an extensive coffee menu.

Lots of people. Good vibes. Serviceminded waiter. Nice wievs. Food was ok, but no bread for the salat, and no dressing. But we enjoyed and will be back next time in Karlstad🥰

There wasn't a great deal of choice of food but the plaice dish was very good. Good selection of beers and each dish on the menu contained a recommendation of beer or wine.

Great selection of beers. Ordered Orval, didn't get it in the right glass. Belgian beer, you either serve it in the correct glass or you don't serve it at all. Service and atmosphere were great. Heated terrace is really nice.

This is one of the oldest restaurants in Karlstad. Of you visit, you'll understand why it has stayed in business for so long. Relaxing environment, laid back staff and really great food. You'd be wise to make a reservation in advance. Only drawback is sometimes it feels a bit understaffed.

Me and my wife had a great time here, it has a cozy feeling and the staff are really nice. Had steak prove cale with garlic potatoes and the misses had shrimp and mushroom pasta dish. We both really enjoyed our meals, my steak was perfectly cooked and the sides where great. Would recommend!

Very nice old world facility, good service (but young, and thus inexperienced), good food and decent prices. Super exciting? : no, but we did enjoy it and would go back.

I was a member of a large group that filled one room completely. It was virtually impossible to hear what one's neighbours were saying (and we were mostly pensioners not young people). I would avoid Alfie on a busy Saturday night. The food? OK, but not memorable.

Very good place. Pizza was excellent, staff super friendly and there was plenty of free water to drink. Even though it is a huge place, it is nicely split into parts so that there is a nice, cozy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

We choose this place for the menu that looked good and for the decoration that looked classy. Make it clear the service is bad. Really bad and slow. The waiter (I understand that there is no wine culture in Sweden, ok) do not know how to poor the wine in a glass (he is young and obliviously that is not his job but the owner of the restaurant could probably give him a fast formation for basic serving, no ?). Arrived at 7.30 pm. Got the menu 20 minutes after, asked for a bottle of wine. Got it at 8.15 with the starters. Main courses arrived at 9.15 pm… Magret was really good as my son said. Surf and turf was ok but not worth waiting. Good point : at time of paying the bill we were told that this evening they had a special Offer and we got 20% of the food. We left without asking for dessert or coffee had we were tired of waiting. We had it somewhere else. This place has potential but must improve a lot.

We came in and the first expression was good! It was cozy and calm. The tables were however very inconvenient… the glasses were tilting and not stable, they were so small you could barely fit two plates and two pairs of cutlery on one table. Then a waiter came took our order. Very polite, but then after waiting 20 minutes we saw him next to us sitting and eating with his friend, laughing and talking(presumably not sober). We waited another 20 min and our drinks finally came out after a total of 40 minutes.(except for mine). We asked them for my drink, which they said would come. Then after 10 minutes we got all of our food at once(including the appetizers). All the food was cold!!! We decided to send back the appetizer since we didn’t want to eat them with the main dish. At this point my drink still hadn’t come out? So we ask another waiter(different from before) and then finally I got my coke(after 50+ minutes). So it was a fun experience. But I’m never coming back. First time dining here and it’ll be the last time too.

Terrible experience! Almost 2 hours of waiting to get our food! The food was good yet overpriced. Two people got wrong dish, 2 other people got wrong side dish, the wine package was not delivered with the main dish for 1 person. We were charged 1 extra cappuccino and a wine bottle of 1000 SEK because the original ordered one (that only cost 380 SEK) had been sold out, yet they failed to inform us about it earlier. Long time also for the invoice and they did nothing to make things better after the dinner fiasco. We will not go back!

What a joke!!! Never been to such a bad service before . The food portion was so small for the price..we waited 1 hour to get our wine, after I reminded them. They forgot our order. And for the cherry on top, they charged us too much for the wine bottle-their excuse new cars system .will never come back. P.s we still have not received the money back for the price diff.

This was really a superb experience. Great service and great food. 4 stars for ambience since besides from us there was only 1 table occupied. Probably 5 stars if it was a little more crowdy. We choose the 3-courses menu. As “förratt” I choose the Swedish dish. I really enjoyed the different kind of cheese and prosciutto/salami/moose. For Värmratt I choose the halibut which was soft as butter. The sauce made a good combination. The potatoes were too much for me but tasted good. (In my opinion all the portions could be a little smaller.) Then I had a taste of the tournedos of my partner. Wow! I think this was the best tournedos I”ve ever had. So tender and tasteful. Don’t hesitate, just order the tournedos!

Very small restaurant. But also very epic. Service is perfect or above that. They are not afraid to tell where they fail. They didn't provide professional quality (five star) sommelier, but very close to it. Food was more than excellent. This is not to be missed. Make sure to book in advance.

bitty and tragic. the only thing you're not left to juggle haplessly is actually cooking your own darn munchies. it's not bad flavours, just liberally dosed with irritation sauce.

Impressive restaurant with a full theater decoration and a totaly new concept of ordering. You have to download an application (they have some phones if you Can not do it) and order your tapas on it. You should take 3/4 tapas for dinner it's enough. Then you send it via the application, and the phone will warn you when your food is ready. I was impressed by the différent choices, and how tasty they are. I recommand you especially the mushrooms risotto. ✌ So it's a really new concept, I should reccomand you to test it, cause you can't be indifferent to this, you really like it, or not at all. For me it was a perfect experience! And moreover, the personnal are really smiling, and patient, they took the time to explain me a lot. Thanks !

Everything but manners is run through an app, which speeds up the whole process. It also makes ordering food, drink, payment and everything in between easier and quicker. Once you've made up your mind to eat here you can take your time scrolling through the menu at your leisure. Only downside is that it's more expensive than a regular restaurant, with smaller portions. But you get your money's worth.

Ok place worth at least one visit for the experience. Prices might be a bit high depending on what you order.

Stopped in for lunch after a fellow vegan recommended the vegetale pasta. It’s a simple but delicious pasta dish with asparagus, radish, tomato and a garlic olive oil dressing. Well seasoned, too. I’d say it was reasonably priced as it was a good portion and also included lemon water, salad buffet, bread and coffee if one wants it. Worth a visit! 😋

Was here for dinner. This places serves very good food. I tried Fried Shrimp and Calamari for starters and Kycling Parmaskinka Pasta for main course. Both the dishes tasted really good. The ambience is good with clean maintenance. The service was quick and staff are friendly. The prices are expensive but it is worth the money as the food tastes so good. Prices: Starters range from 75-100SEK Main Course from 170-350SEK

While traveling through Sweden on our way to Stockholm, we were famished and craving a hearty meal to fuel the rest of our journey. We randomly picked a restaurant and were lucky enough to land at the right place. Arriving at Napoli felt like stepping through a loophole into a cozy Italian trattoria. The food arrived quickly, the portions were generous, and everything was absolutely delicious. While waiting, Napoli offers free salad and bread, and after your meal, complimentary coffee! What more could you ask for?

This is a simple restaurant for ordinary occasions. The food is ok and fair prices. This is not a restaurant for special occasions. The staff however was very nice and positive.

Casual atmosphere with dark, masculine wooden tables, booth seating and outside seating area. Family friendly and simple, but the food is 5 stars. The pizzas are fantastic with a tomato sauce the will transport you straight to Italy. The Pasta Salmone was an aromatic mix of salmon, tiny shrimp, delightful burst of tomatoes/asparagus, and silky al dente pasta. Pair with a smooth glass of house Sangiovese. The Chicken & Parma was a heavy mix of sun-dried tomatoes, dried prosciutto, chunks of chicken in a garlic velvet cream. Maybe some peas could have been added? Was it the chocolate tarfuto? It had a crunchy exterior, ice cream interior, oozing chocolate sauce that left a positively indelible impression! Creme brulee was too oily. The Gino was was like eating a banana split with lots of kiwi. Price for what may be the best Italian food in Sweden is reasonable. You'll want to revisit the restaurant because if only these dishes are this good, the other dishes must be phenomenal.

Probably the worst pizza we ever ate. It was not good at all. Because it started to rain we went inside. That wasn’t a good idea, the interior is very outdated and that’s not a bad thing at all, the fact that there are flies and other insects, cobwebs, dirt etc. that date probably from the time it was new is disgusting. If we stepped in from the beginning the chance that we would have ordered something at all would be zero. Not recommending this place to eat anything at all. And we are not picky and easily satisfied.

Great Cold War exhibits, lots to touch and try, and perfect for both kids and adults. Cool outdoor area with military vehicles to climb on. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby!

Exciting, detailed exhibitions that lean strongly into the human aspects of war, complemented by unforgettable armored vehicles, a gift shop selling excellent surplus, and even shooting galleries!

It's a great museum with a lot of military things. A lot of the museum is inside but there also are tanks outside. I would definitely recommend this place. Kids can go in for free.

Good military museum, even if there are not many big tanks. This museum explaines the history of the cold war. Its very modern and shows many smaller artefacts of the time and gives good information. There is even a shooting simulator. You can have a drink, coffee and cake or small meal. There are some original army things to buy as souvenir. Outside a few tanks and cannons. Visitor reception very professional, toilets modern and clean. Free parking in front.

I'm very love this place it my first time to visit museums in Sweden I'm so excited when I walk to the room history.

The museum is good and we spend about 2h but had it not been for the bad air and too much people (corona time) we would have spent some more time to read all the posters.

Good place for cocktails, afternoon snack. It has surprisingly good desserts, especially the Gino. Large interior and inviting, covered patio area to lounge in unhurried.

We had Skagen toast as a starter and it was delicious! As a Main course we had the Köttbullar and the Burger. Both were also really really good. The best Köttbullar I had. The mashed potatos also really tasty. Service was friendly and quick. The Orangery as the roofed outdoor area is totally stylish. The price was quite moderate for Sweden and fits the quality.

If you are looking up this place for bowling, I wouldn't suggest it. We booked one lane for 55min which priced 280SEK but the lanes were not working properly. For every 10-15min and a strike the strings get strangled or something technical issues happen and it stops the play. We switched 3 lanes and all of them had the same issue. We lost good amount of time due to this.

Make sure to book a table or be ready for uncomfortable "we are fully booked in three hours not shure if u can have a meal here " conversation.

Very poor service, stood for 5 minutes before being told to find our own seat. Drinks were great, food was generally tasty but very pricey for what you get. Didn't get asked if we wanted the dessert menu after plates were finally cleared, so service caused the overall disappointment.

Poor service and understaffed is the common talk here. Made a booking and when arrived was told to go and find a spare table.... (so no booked table actually for us) 10mins later no one had come over to us so we had to ask to be served. Food was ok, taste fine but menu not very exciting or creative. No one cleared our table even 20 mins after we had finished eating and then it got cleared in small amounts over another 20 mins. We had still dirty plates when Are dessert order was taken and when dessert came. It was not so busy inside But outside was busy. On a weekend when busy you must Make sure you Are correctly staffed. Its not always about Making the best profits. Nice decor inside and fun idea with discount if you out your phone away. But needs better staff training and better leadership I believe. Second time trying here, Almost same experience Both times. Would I go again... sadly probably not.

Wow, Google tips and we chose to visit Chaplin tavern with successful results. Nice tasty food and very good service. Fantastic restaurant with Chaplin theme, something new to see in the interior wherever you look. Well worth a visit again. Loved it 👍

Very good food, service and atmosphere for the price. Tried beef and salmon with a vege soup. Beef was excellent done medium. Well worth the 15 minutes walk from town centre where we stayed. In Scandinavia, we found most dishes to be tad salty for our Asian taste but it is what it is. Seems to be highly popular with locals when we were there.

Used to fresh seafood, this was a disappointment, both the shrimps and blue mussels had been fozen. Adverticed as fresh. Nothing to say about the service, it was as expected. Too loud live music for a Monday afternoon dinner.. Great location tho.

Great location, but they’re not worth it at all. Really bad service. We were sitting on the terrace to get some drinks. A girl came to clean the table next to us. She didn’t even look at us. I asked if we could order some drinks and she told us we had to get it inside. My boyfriend went inside and while he stood there waiting for someone to help him, people who worked there totally ignored him. Maybe they were going to close, that’s all fine by us. But the fact that nobody said anything was really rude.

We sent for a Friday lunch. Food: The burger was tiny (90g or less) and the Gorgonzola pasta didn’t taste like Gorgonzola. In general, the price of the food did not reflect in the quality. Good salad buffet. Service: ok. They took a long time to remove food from outside dining space, resulting in a lot of birds amongst the guests and tables. I will choose another restaurant next time. A shame, since the location is great - an opportunity lost.

Unfortunately it was bad experience because of the cold water in the pools and even outside, we could accept having it cold outside but warm inside or the opposite but not in the both. We went swimming in "leke". The entrance is cheap. The locker system is brilliant. The swimming pool is decent. My kids of 4 and 1 loved the kiddies pools. Food was okay. Wished they had a better kids menu option. Be aware that the different baths open at different times and also close at different times. We arrived 30min to early cause Google said it was open.

Many people come and go in this Swimming place, its not that big and not either small... Like their Sauna, price is reasonable...

Fun! Not too expensive. Fun playground with slides, pools, climbing area, waves and a hot tub. The area outside is cold 😁 but very fun to just let the water flow rake you round and round!

Only tried their lunch menus which were great! Had their pork belly sandwich which was tasty, juicy, and packed with bbq flavour. The sides of potatoes were just okay, would've liked them a bit crispier. All in all really good.

Real. Texas. BBQ. The bbq pit boys would be proud. Tried the brisket which was perfectly made: lite bite to it but basically melts in the mouth and of course the pink smoke ring... The pulled pork was a bit dry but you can have as much bbq sauce that you want sooo problem solved! The cream corn was great: suprising heat with balanced flavour. The coleslaw needs some extra flavour but I had a nasty salsa that balanced it out. Overall awesome experience.

Ordered Nachos for the adults and Burger for the kids. My alarm bells should have gone off when it arrived extremely fast. The burgee had no clear patty, meat disintegrated, and the side dish (corn in some sort of sauce) tasted rotten. The nachos were almost meat absent and both dishes had the same sauce and tastes identical. Dripping with some sort of BBQ sauce. When we left through the very cool entrance/exit (shipping containers painted black) my 15-year old had a RAT!!! run in front of him. The rat might have been a coincidence? But all in all, some of the worst dining I have ever encountered. Will not be back.

Cozy, gives a safe and comforting feeling, pleasant colours and a - compared to many other places - almost silent surrounding. Huge plus for the owners accent! An even larger plus for the excellent selection of wines! Didn't eat, just had wine and nuts. And olives 😊

Hands down the best Thai food I've had in all of Miami. Trust me I've had a lot. This place I had to go outa the way to let them know and you guys know that they have some DELICIOUS and SAVORY food!! They pad Thai, GREAT, I tried all of their curry. Everyone and they were ALL amazing. Green has always been my favorite. Their soups are amazing especially the one with the coconut milk base UGH!! Haha amazing!! The appetizers like egg rolls and wontons or dumplings all so good!! Cant go wrong here. I would post a photo but it's all in take out containers since I found out about the place during covid but still they are delightful and should seriously be moved up in the ranking on spots to eat in doral!

This place has one of the best sushi I've tried so far. The fish was fresh and of excellent quality. The menu is not big but the things they have are great. We had the deluxe sushi mix, fried tempura roll and some extra pairs. What you see in the picture cost 510sek (water is free). We were 2 people and we left feeling very satisfied and happy with the quality. Also the service was great!! We arrived at 20 and the restaurant closes at 21. There were a lot of people coming to pick up food in the last hour. The app which you order through said approximate 1h waiting time when we ordered. I want to looooove this place because I love a good cafe with homemade food. But there was many little things that made it not that great. There is only one vegan protein and because I didn't like the dry cashew puck, I feel I cannot come back. Can you please have a second vegan protein that is lighter and not so dense and fat rich. Like tofu for example. The bowls are so narrow. I hated having to eat everything on top just to get to the bottom. And every time I plucked some food it would spill over the edge. Because those are soup bowls! Not salad plates. A shallow bowl would be so much nicer and you could see all the parts of the salad, and pick and choose. The lighting was too dark also. With the lighting and the tight bowl, I was stabbing into darkness. I want to come back here, but I hated the dry vegan puck. Can you please get a second lighter option that is high in protein but lower in fat.. :)

Most customers take away in disposables (with plastic covers) to eat at the river side. But even when eating inside, dressing was not available except for dressing in disposable plastics, cover on the tray was paper with plastic coating, all plants are plastic plants. So: the food is healthy for the humans eating there, but it is not particularly healthy for the environment. Unfortunately. Simple solutions may turn it into a place we could go to again: have a deposit system for takeaway, have a dispenser for dressing and sauses, dont decorate with fake stuff, etc.

But they don't serve sushi. Chose the salmon sushi. Now I've eaten a lot of sushi, but the rice used here was the worst I've ever eaten. Salty, sour and mushy. The salmon was cut too thick. They did have wasabi paste, but it was an obviously cheap kind with little to no heat what so ever. I will not be going back and I can't really recommended anyone else to go there.

A Delightful Stop in Karlstad During a recent trip en route to Oslo, we made a quick, yet thoroughly enjoyable, lunch stop at Nonna Grassa in Karlstad. Situated just a stone's throw from the city center square, it offered a perfect spot for some casual people-watching. We started with the Insalata Parma e Mozzarella, which was fresh and flavorful. This was followed by the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, a classic done right. Beyond the delicious food, what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, from the moment we walked in until our departure. Unfortunately, we were a bit pressed for time and had to skip an espresso, but we'll definitely make sure to save room for it on our next visit. Nonna Grassa proved to be an excellent choice for a quick and satisfying meal.

Went here for dinner recommended by a friend. Service was attentive from the moment we entered. The restaurant was quite busy and for good reason. The food was awesome highly recommend the risotto ai funghi. Even thought the restaurant was busy service was quick. Very nice vibe and interior as well, 5 stars!

Great atmosphere...the supervisor Jan extremely helpful....the barmaids are very warmly especially Ebba and Kim.....I spent all weekend there watching football and ice hockey...this is a very special place and an absolute must if you visit karlstad....I left my heart in this wonderful amazing little town.....thank you Sweden ❤

Ordered and paid for 5 beers through the app. 50 minutes later and no beer, we picked up our stuff and left. Wouldn't recommend this place at all, most of the activities doesn't work properly and are heavily worn down. Staff is inexperienced and nonchalant to the guests. Toilets look like a trench from the first world war. Only positive for this place is the bouncers, big up!

The food service was, surprisingly, completely useless. I hope this was temporary, but two separate waitresses were so bad that it deserves a 1 star. We had people with (simple) allergies and dietary requirements, and they simply didn't bother giving us the right things. Sandwich without mayo came with mayo, diet soda came with sugar, burger with sweet potato fries came with ordinary fries and when we asked to have it fixed we got three ordinary fries packages instead. Everything was slow - we asked for water with the wine no less than four times. The food itself was decent, but unless the waitresses get straightened out, this place is going to have plenty of bad reviews coming up.

Last time i gave this place a full five star, but this time i am afraid the bbq ribs where stone dry.. sides, and the other food was perfect. I will go here again and hopefully next time will be as good as last time !

A lovely, vibrant place to get a delicious meal. We ordered the Rib Eye (250g), the Spareribs, Fries on the side and the Béarnaise sauce. The Rib Eye was perfect medium rare, juicy and was seasoned very well. The Spareribs were tender and full of taste. The fries were crispy and the sauce was delicious. The place itself has a cool decor that really gives you that Texas feeling and the waiters were very nice. Overall it was a great dinner, which I'd recommend to anyone who likes their meats.

I don't know! I found it pretty dull for the new year's eve dinner!! But, we thoroughly enjoyed the margaritas (pineapple and strawberry). It was delish! The steaks were great too!

The food was alright, even though my meat was cold when served. The experience does not however match the price tag. Service was slow and lacking. A corn-cob was lying in the middle of the floor, next to our table, the whole visit without anyone picking it up. Service is lacking, food is nothing special and the prices are high. I recommend trying a different restaurant.

Great food, well cooked and food is of good value for money. Lunch time in summer was busy with a mix of inside and outside seating. No table service but a quick order and pay at the till. The pizza was very good with an excellent crust and tasty topping The pasta carbenara was creamy (not authentic italian) and a good sized portion. Ceaser salad was nice but missing anchovies. Free coffee, free salad and free desserts. Were all an added benefit. Overall a great location.

The best pasta dishes we’ve had for a long time, pizza was also pretty good. Portion sizes are perfect as well. Definitely recommended.

Went here with a big group, food came all together which was a big plus. Service was okay not bad not necessarily great. The food was nice however, the tiramisu was not a tiramisu. The biscuit was missing and the coffee was way too much. 108 Krona was not worth it.

Great Italian place. We went for lunch and you get free fika (blueberry pie with vanilla cream, coffee) Lunch pizza costs around 13€ (129 SEK) and Cola soft drinks 15 SEK (with free refill).

Came here for lunch and it was amazing! Between 11:00 and 15:00 they offer a lunch menu for 119SEK (~12€) which includes a main dish, salad, cake, coffee as well as something to drink. The food is delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They explained and translated everything. I can definitely recommend coming here!

Food took very long to arrive and the pizza al funghi sadly didn’t have that much mozzarella or tomato sauce. Pasta was a bit tasteless, looked better than it tasted but of course it was worth a try. Margarita was good!

Cool concept, cooking the meat to your liking on a hot tableside lava stone, but the result will be average at best unless you're an experienced chef.. The meat will never be as good as done over a grill

Live music Friday and Saturday, we went in for drinks but we’re drooling over the hot stone steak and seafood. Nice ambiance and nice friendly staff. Will definitely came back when in the sunny Karlstad again 👍🥰

We where a fairly large party (30 pax) and they served us quite well, and it's a quiet cozy place. Food was good, had the Holmströms favorite as a starter and then the Fillet of beef garlic potatoes as my main and I enjoyed both.

Place is awesome especially inside. The 20€ burger 🍔 and 20€ pizza 🍕 were so and so and doesn't justify the high price. Service from weitresses was good but the food takes long time to arrive (our food arrived 50 minutes after we ordered)

A lovely experience all around. The friendly service, the cozy atmosphere, and above all the kitchens ability to veganize the menu options makes this my favorite restaurant in all of Karlstad. My carnivore partner rates the experience as 10/10 as well 🥂

Enjoyed a delicious pizza here. The dining area was very big with a lot of seats. The chairs in the dining area were not so comfortable and the food was lacking final touch. Good service. Tasty food. Don’t forget to try the local beers here!

A beautifuly made resturant. It's massive and i worry how it will keep it self going long term, having 500 seats. I guess it must have to be busy a lot to substain. Nice menu. Pizza was a real flavor hit! Base little soggy and wet but you soon forgot about that after you had taste it! There is a dj 3 nights a week but sadly this Does not work. It's not the right place for a dj. A small live band or solo performance would be so much for fitting and enjoyable! Quick service, spot of location and a much better crowd of people than most other bars/ restaurants in Karlstad.

Fantastic decor and general feeling of the restaurant. Rookie staff and horrible food. You pay as if it was high end but the level is O'Leary's. They forgot to ask us of we wanted more wine all night and I ended up opening and poring up my own wine. In general the staff is not attentive. However, even if the staff was nice this food would be a two star.

Happy Kitchen is really a good choice for sushi when in Karlstad. There are not many sushi places in Karlsyad first of all, so the choices are not overwelming somehow, but Happy Kitchen keep actually a very high standard, for being located in the deep woods of Sweden. I love their fish/seafood sallad, it is a must-try if you decide to visit Happy K. They also serve a few nice Japanese beers, which makes the visit even better :)

Second time I've been here. First time I thought it was good. But i wasn't that hungry and the ramen was massive! Amazing kind of detailed food. But too much. This time I had the vegetable dumplings. These were amazing. Not quite enough food. I ordered some edamame beans after which were lovely but once again I was stuffed!

Very good food! Unfortunately you will have to wait on your food too long. Even when the staff have little to do. Don't be stressed if you plan to eat at HK.

Nice, comfortable hotel at the main shopping street. Good breakfast with a lot to choose from. Only missed some other coffee than brewed.

Very old and not renovated rooms,dirty and old floor carpets.a/c is not working,the days we stayed was very hot and rooms were really hot and airless.breakfast is not well enough.only the good thing is its location.

They have a relax area, but your key card may not work to use it! They just keep giving you new cards that also don't work, then when it gets close to closing time, they say the timing is the reason. I stayed 2 nights and only got to use the relax area when a staff member was kind enough to manually open the door with a key. Very disappointing!

Can't recommend the lunch buffet. I've never before eaten such soft and floppy onion rings. Not a lot to choose from either. The Mongolian buffet *looked* great though, I'll try that next time I'm here.

Pretty good options (mostly meat on protein) to choose from on the stir-fry buffet. Lots of tasty frying sauces too. And to top off there's a dessert with fried fruit and ice cream.

You get to pick exactly what they are going to make for you, which is really fun. You just take a plate and take everything you want, and they will cook it for you. Don't forget to add spices and oils because they don't add that for you.

The Buffee has MUCH fewer options to choose from compared with similar places. (For example RAsia in Stockholm is in the same price range but has at least 70% more dishes. No Dumplings, only one ready made dish, no duck, one fruit only - ananas chunks out of the tin. it feels to me that they try to maximize profit by using low cost raw materials. 70 minutes before closing the spring rolls and other starters where missing on the allready small buffee. The policy not to offer half liter bottles of beer and charging 65 SEK for a glass of draft ABO adds negative points.

On 09.07.2025, we were carelessly charged 1948 SEK at the restaurant where we had dinner. Although we transferred almost 300 SEK from our account, there was no refund, so I recommend you to be careful when paying.

This Greek restaurant offers a truly refined culinary journey, showcasing the rich and authentic flavors of the Mediterranean in a welcoming and convivial setting. The dishes are thoughtfully prepared, striking a perfect balance between finesse and generosity, making it an ideal spot for a midday escape that nourishes both the mind and the palate. However, the experience could have been enhanced with attention to a practical detail—unfortunately, the restrooms were out of order—and by ensuring a consistent level of hospitality across the staff. The slightly aloof demeanor of one server, while isolated, stood in contrast to the otherwise exemplary service. All in all, this is a must-visit restaurnat for those seeking a blend of gastronomic delight and cultural immersion, with minor adjustments that could elevate an already enriching experience to perfection.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this place. Order a severly undercooked beef patty with the inside of the patty raw. When I complained I felt the staff tried to brush the issue aside as "a small mistake". Overall, I felt that there was zero concern or regret about serving raw food.

At the restaurant where we had dinner with my son, they charged us 1948 SEK instead of 300 SEK. Although we noticed the mistake and contacted them, they did not refund the fee. Please be careful when paying, especially with the tip part.

Food was ok, but not for the price. They were out of calamari, and substituted chicken? They couldn’t find our reservation, but then “found it in a hidden” list. The tables are close together, loud people, it wasn’t the best choice for an anniversary dinner.

Our one-night stay at Elite Stadshotellet Karlstad was an unexpectedly lovely experience. We booked a deluxe double room with a view of the river, and it immediately set the tone for a relaxed stopover between cities. The hotel itself has a charming, old-world elegance with modern touches that make it feel both historic and comfortable. The lobby and common areas are beautifully maintained, and check-in was quick and efficient after a short and easy walk from the train station. The room struck a perfect balance between cozy and spacious. The view of the river, framed by the hotel’s large windows, added a peaceful, scenic backdrop that we weren’t necessarily expecting from a quick stop in Karlstad. Everything was spotless, and the bed was genuinely comfortable — a nice surprise after several nights of travel. Location-wise, the hotel is ideally situated. Within minutes, you can stroll along the riverside, explore the nearby Sandgrund Lars Lerin Art Gallery, or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Karlstad’s town center. Even though we were only here for a single night, it left a strong impression. If we were passing through again, I’d absolutely stay here. It’s a gem of a stopover hotel that delivers far more charm than you might expect.

Lousy service, mediocre room. Upon arrival 21:40 I ask the receptionist when the restaurant closes. At 23:00 he states. Except as I present myself at 21:59 I'm told the kitchen closed and I cant be served. So the BAR closes at 23:00. I even chose the hotel for the convenience of inhouse restaurant. And don't expect a decent apology from the arrogant daft. Also if you like a room where the bedlamp has no socket and hence can't be used. If you like to have only swedish language TV channels (even Sky News No Programme Available). And if you like to have a room with no windows, or rather in fact there are windows except there's only a concrete wall visible from the window. Oh, and if you like a room where the water heater and coffee is stashed away at the bottom of the closet making it a project to have a cup.... Then this hotel is an excellent choice. Not in the least commendable.

Nice hotel, but confusing. The beds are a bit older and the interior in the rooms could be updated. The TV was unusable, because the speakers barely work. Our view was directly into another building, well... You get what you pay for I guess... The spa is a different kind of story. Very nice and relaxing, but the choice of using lay down couches which absorb moisture maybe not the best choice.... The breakfest was hectic and either I got really bad eggs or bacon, but my stomach was upset for several days after our visit. All in all 3.5/5 some stuff could be polished and updated.

This is my favorite place to stay in Karlstad. Decent rooms and good car park in a great location. Nice and helpful staff (Pontus). Great breakfast and lovely view of the city from the room.

Excellent quality of service, especially at the restaurant. Unique view from the pool at the rooftop. I'm staying here every time I'm in Karlstad. This place is also pet friendly.

Never been in a hotel where you can't use the facilities (gym) after checkout, i.e. 11am 😳 And when you kindly express your surprise, only agressivity comes back from reception 😳😳 with only answer "it's 11:55, you are 1h late for checkout, normally I need to charge you" 😳😳😳
