We stopped in for a quick bite and ended up having one of the most memorable meals of our trip. The counter service was friendly and efficient — the line moved quickly, even with a steady stream of locals and tourists coming through. We each got a sandwich that was as simple as it gets — just bread cheese and tomato — but it was unbelievably good. The kind of bread you just don't find back in the US. My husband kept saying it over and over: “This bread is something else.” And he was right. We brought our sandwiches down to the water fountain nearby and had a peaceful little picnic. Just the two of us, good bread, a sunny day, and a view to remember. Sometimes the simplest moments are the best. I came here with my family for a late Sunday lunch before taking the ferry and we really enjoyed the burger and chip and steak and chips with got.
