Quick, cheap & delicious! Was happy that i could grab some on my way out of Cardiff. I think the flavors could be slightly stronger, I couldn’t tell much of a difference between the 3, but still good! Great way to make sure you experience a little Welsh culture in Cardiff.

I’m not joking I’m addicted to their welsh cakes. You can smell them all the way down the street and that’s how I found out about this place🤣. The cakes are warm, fresh, comforting and absolutely delicious! I liked the classic more than the chocolate ones and I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t even like raisins! If I didn’t have any self control I would literally eat them everyday.

We tried the Welsh cakes and those were awesome. We were not knowing about the shop but saw people queuing up so went in. Recommended especially the milk chocolate ones.

Absolutely fresh, warm cakes. Two young ladies were friendly and helpful. We got 3 types, 4 of each. Kids loved it, we loved it. Recommended.

Tried authentic homemade Welsh cakes for the very first time at Cardiff Bakestones — and they were absolutely amazing! Soft, warm, and perfectly sweet, they truly melt in your mouth. You can tell they’re made with care and tradition, just like how it should be. Such a lovely local gem inside Cardiff Market — friendly service, great prices, and a must-visit if you're in the city. I’ll definitely be back for more when I visit Cardiff next time

Really lovely Welsh cakes. Lots of different flavours and some with filling. We had coconut, chocolate and pistachio, lemon, and jam. You could watch the cakes being made which was fun. They had other cakes too, which we didn't try, but looked lovely - the fact I didn't buy a rock cake will haunt me for a long time ... !

Best part of my quick stop in Cardiff for sure! I only had a few hours in the city, but luckily my friend told me to go there and I found the Bakestone stall inside Cardiff Market — and what a treat! The welshcakes were warm, soft, and very tasty, cooked right in front of me. I grabbed a bag with 10 and got a fresh coffeec close there and it was just perfect. So cozy and comforting. Honestly, was my favorite part of the whole visit. If you’re around, definitely should go and get a few welshcakes. I think you won’t regret it! :)

This stall in Cardiff Market produces freshly baked Welsh Cakes home made style. Tried the traditional cake with raisin, with chocolate chips, short bread with chocolate chips, and chocolate fudge cake. All taste amazing. Especially the traditional cakes, ate the cakes while warm, really felt like down to earth and heart warming. A must-go place in Cardiff!

Authentic, traditional and modern twists on bakestones; otherwise known as "Welsh cakes" in English, "Pics" in Wenglish and "Picau ar y maen" (pic-aye arr uh mine) in Welsh. In my family we do call them "Pics". Very friendly and efficient.

I have been going to this place for at least 10 years and have always loved the Welsh cakes here. A must visit for anyone coming into Cardiff! Aside from the traditional Welsh cakes, the lemon curd and strawberry ones are delightful! Bara brith and scones were wonderful too. Very happy to see they’ve upgraded the shop and that they’re doing so well.

Big queue but quick, a good selection of different flavours of Welsh cake so that you can try different ones. Minimum card payment of 5 pound.

My daughter and I received a voucher for Pettigrew Tea rooms as a gift. We absolutely loved it. The staff were wonderful, both the sandwiches and cakes were gorgeous and the atmosphere was amazing. We thoroughly recommend. Thank you 🤩

My boyfriend and I visited for our two year anniversary after reading good reviews. We contacted the tea rooms prior to visiting to see if we could change the sandwich option and they were very highly accommodating as the chef makes the sandwiches fresh - can remove and add anything to the sandwiches. The food was delicious! We ordered the chicken and stuffing, ham and roasted veg sandwiches. It also consisted of two scones (cranberry and white chocolate for my boyfriend and a plain one for me), two gingerbread men, chocolate fudge and two mini mince pies. We were both stuffed and still had a cake slice each to choose from the counter!! We were able to get more hot water for our two pots of tea which is great for a cold day ☺️ The waiter was very friendly and polite - explained the menu very well and was happy to answer any questions. Would highly recommend if you’re visiting Cardiff for the day.

Lovely little tea room in the park. Lots of variety of options. We tried the chocolate cake, berry cake, and tea. Delicious! The cream in the berry cake was particularly great. Will definitely return if we visit Cardiff again. Shout-out to the staff who were so lovely and attentive even during the weekend afternoon rush.

Went for an afternoon tea. Indoor seating was fully booked so I needed to sit outside. I had a cappuccino and a piece of Victoria sponge. Nothing beats a good coffee in the park. Staff were friendly. My only complaint is that my cake was dry but other than that perfect place for a nice afternoon especially if you like good views!

This place is so cute! Like a mini castle. The scones.. marvellous! The tea, well I didn't actually have tea but I bet it's the real deal. I had coffee and some scones (I know.. Probably the best afternoon tea I've ever had. Great selection of sandwiches, cakes, and teas. The scones are absolutely delicious and freshly baked, the cream and jam were authentic and veery yummy. I love that they had the choice of fruit or plain scones (I don't like fruit scones ever). The gentleman was so kind and accommodating, we had a brownie to go because I was too full to eat anymore! It was a delicious brownie even when I had the second half the next day. They got back to me really fast when I enquired to make a booking. The seating and rooms were gorgeous, really comfortable, and a very pretty calming setting. Can't wait to come back when I'm in Cardiff next!

You can find a variety of stalls there: foods, books, bags, souvenirs, fish… I tried Welsh cakes from a stall run by very sweet ladies. They were delicious! Also, I realized I forgot to bring my lock, and I found one there and bought it. Imagine how diverse the market is. 😅

Thank Goodness for the Cardiff Markets and the welsh cakes stand The vest weksh cakes ever! We tried 5 between 3 of us and went back for a 10 pack to take home which lasted for 3 days morning or aft. Tea. YUM!9

Love the great food options here and the decent attempt at gentrifying a very cool old building & market. It sadly is still rather filthy and is still a little short of the mark compared to some other (foodie) markets around Europe. That being said, I’d come back thanks to the delicious food (kudos to the Neapolitan pizza, Greek gyros and Welshcakes). If they cleaned this place up a bit it’d be 5-star level.

Brilliant market, with fresh fruit and veg. Food stalls downstairs and upstairs, seating is limited though. The cake stalls are amazing especially the Welsh cakes, it's a must visit when I'm in the capitol. One of the better markets to visit in Wales 👍

Had a delicious afternoon tea here last weekend. Was very busy but we're accommodated quickly. Staff were very friendly and the food was really tasty and beautifully presented. Recommend booking ahead for afternoon tea as there wasn't a free table for very long in this place.

Great presentation on desserts however they aren't as good as they look ! Reasonable pricing. Breakfast here is delicious, and worth the money if you fancy treating yourself on a weekend! I had the eggs royale with smoked salmon. Decent coffee.

Went for my first visit on a busy Sunday. I had a lovely Mocha and a dreamy light raspberry sponge delight. My colleague had an item which they described as ‘the perfect harmony of coffee, chocolate, and nutella’ accompanied by the best apple juice to ever hit their lips. Pricier than your average coffee shop but it’s easy to understand why. Would highly recommend to those nearby - a great addition to Whitchurch Road! Only negative were the aged canteen style decor and uneven lights above the counter.

Every time I visit Cocorico they are fantastic. I tend to go in the morning for breakfast which are always delicious and well presented. My favourites are the vegetarian breakfast (Glamorgan sausages are yummy) and the poached eggs on sour dough toast. The glass counter of inhouse made macarons, pastries and patisseries are stunning. So beautiful and the flavours are lovely. Today I bought a piece of Opera cake, Paris Brest and a chocolate macaron for my family to try tonight after dinner. A must visit. They do get busy so go early for breakfast.

Amazing patisserie and a great location to have breakfast/lunch. The selection is very vast all cooked and prepared with high quality ingredients! Friendly staff and company so I would highly recommend a visit!

French Bakery in Whitchurch Road, Cardiff. The staff were polite and most helpful. The decor is pleasing. The place had people enjoying snacks. I enjoyed a full Cocorico Breakfast which included a slice of fresh sourdough with flavoured baked beans, well done Bacon, a sausage, a flavoured half tomato, and a creatively made rosti made of spiced sweet potato. Two poached eggs added to the enjoyment. There were a wide range of Macaroons of different colours and flavours. The cakes and patisseries were most beautiful. They don't do baguettes , which is a bit of a disappointment. The cappuccino and later the Americano coffees were good. There was notice stating that the wheelchair ramp was available on request. All in all a great experience. Oh, the macaroons were great!

Very cute shop for a nice coffee or study date. I ordered a cinnamon roll and some green tea. They accidentally brought me the wrong one they gave me the one with apple, and they soon realized that it’s wrong so they kindly replace it and even asked if I wanted them both. The shop has a bathroom and it’s very clean and accessible to disabled people. It offers a wide range of pastries. Sadly I think that the cinnamon roll was a bit too sweet for me especially with the glaze on top, so I removed it and it was better.

I visited this bakery and found the place spacious and comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere. Their baked goods are delicious and fresh, and I really enjoyed the variety they offer. However, I wish they had a service to warm up the pastries — it would be wonderful to enjoy hot, freshly warmed pastries, especially on cold winter days.

Coffee was average and overpriced. £3.95 for a flat white and £3.5 for a long black. I would expect very good quality for those prices and it didn't deliver. They also charge 60p for oat milk.

This is an elite bakery! In all my travels I love heading to a bakery to get myself a sweet or savoury treat, and this sits top of the pile. At this place I got both sweet and savoury due to the excellent selection on offer. I had a cinnamon swirl that was beautifully soft with delicious flavour of cinnamon and white icing. For the savoury treat I had a cheese and pepperoni swirl, that again was beautifully soft and packed with unbelievably good cheesy flavour. If you’re in Cardiff it’s well worth heading up to this part of town to grab something!

These Portuguese egg tarts are like crack. Addicting, flavourful and quality. I can never get enough. Fir the best experience I recommend eating them there with some coffee. Staff are always so happy and helpful too!

Amazing! Hands down the best place to have breakfast/coffee/snack in Cardiff. The owner is a star: great customer service and even better food! Brilliant selection of typical Portuguese and Brazilian treats. I only wish I had taken more photos before jumping into it lol. Highly recommend the “bolinho de bacalhau”, “coxinha”, tostas, pastel de nata e “docinho de Azeitão”!!!

I recently visited Coco Gelato for dessert and overall had a great experience, though there were a couple of moments that stood out in a not-so-great way. I ordered the peanut butter waffle paired with bounty ice cream, an indulgent combination that turned out to be absolutely delicious. The waffle was freshly made, warm, and had a lovely crispness to it, while the peanut butter sauce and coconut chocolate flavor of the ice cream complemented each other perfectly. It was rich, satisfying, and definitely hit the spot. I did ask for extra white chocolate sauce on my waffle, and that’s where things got a little awkward. The woman behind the counter told me she had to check with her boss for a price, which is totally understandable. However, what felt a bit uncomfortable was that the boss seemed to feel the need to look at me before deciding how much to charge. It gave off the impression that she was making a judgment based on appearance or something subjective, which felt off-putting and unprofessional. Eventually, I was told it would be £1.50 for the extra sauce, which I was happy to pay, but the whole interaction could’ve been handled in a more neutral, consistent way. Aside from that, there were lots of positives. The place was clean and welcoming, and I really appreciated the fact they offered free water refills with cups readily available. It’s a small thing, but it shows thoughtfulness towards customers. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, with early 2000s hit music playing, which gave the whole experience a nice nostalgic vibe. All in all, the dessert itself was excellent, and most aspects of the visit were enjoyable. I’d definitely return, though I’d hope for a more consistent and respectful approach to customer interactions in the future. With just a little more polish on the service side, this place could easily be a five star gem

We often go to Coco Gelato when in Cardiff as there is always a wide selection of ice cream, and the ice cream really tastes like the flavour its supposed to be! They also do fresh crepes. It's usually fairly busy but when we went there was hardly a seat available!! Well worth a visit!

I went in and ordered a Spoilt Ambassador because the menu in front clearly stated it was £6.75 (see picture). When I paid, I was shocked to find I’d been charged £9.45 instead. When I questioned it, the man didn’t even apologise, he just brushed it off and said the menu was 10 years old. I honestly don’t understand why such an outdated menu is still displayed so prominently. If I’d known the real price, I would never have ordered it. The whole experience left me frustrated and ruined my day, so I’m sharing this to warn others. The food was good though.

Hello, I went there with my kids for a birthday. The place is in Cathays, Cardiff – quite a student area, with a bit of rubbish on the streets. At the start there was already an unpleasant surprise: when ordering from the table through the app, they add an extra transaction fee. We ordered a few of their signature shakes. I have to say, they were nicely presented and quite tasty, all topped with plenty of caramel. However, after a while we all agreed that the initial excitement faded – it was simply too much sugar for everyone. Overall, it was okay, but I think there are better and healthier alternatives in the city.

Currently stood in the place its absolutely dead but still has taken 30mins to get served. The self service computers are not for service. Owner/Manager walks round and couldn't care less for his customers.

If you like European food this would be a good place to eat when in Cardiff. This company sells a wide range of continental foods in the Delicatessen downstairs then serves some of that food upstairs. The staff were very friendly and the food was served promptly. One word of caution. The food shown on the website is not the same as now being served in restaurant. It is better to choose your food from the restaurant menu. The menu has a good variation but it is based on German and Dutch food. The food is not exactly the cheapest you might expect ( see my photo) but it is the experience.

Great selection of meats, cheeses, sweets and drinks. I usually find a good treat and a good whisky to take home. They have a cafe upstairs too - coffee is good. Have yet to try the food, but it looks like they have breakfast options if you are visiting the city and need to start your day off right.

The cooked meats are always excellent. The coffeeshop is like stepping back in time to old school hospitality. The deli has always got some hidden gem. I don't know what is better; shopping or eating it!

delicious. i have been here a few times with different people. they offer a student discount too for my fellow students out there. the menu has so much variety with so many options to choose from that suits many different diets. my partner is vegetarian and was not short of choices. the staff are the best, so friendly and charming. we got an extra cannoli the first time we visited and the staff just care so much. highly recommend, this place is underrated.

Wally's Delicatessen is a quirky shop offering all kinds of boutique style food and drinks. It is a perfect shop for Christmas presents, stocking fillers or just for tasty food for home. There is an absolute massive variety of food. Loved especially the different pasta and also the canolli. The cheese counter was very impressive too. The meat counter had a really good variety. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend

Lovely wholesome cafe. It’s my mother-in-law’s local and she brings us here every time we visit! The coffee is excellent, the meals are high quality, and they have lots of local products including artisan bread. The sausage roll was one of the tastiest I’ve ever had!

I had the most lovely time here! Perfect place to come on a wee lunch date - the food is so fresh and delicious, and there is an exciting range of cakes and sweet treats, as well as just really personal and kind service - I couldn’t recommend it enough! Why did I have to wait so long to get a take away coffee? 1. Staff busy chatting to customers (not serving or taking orders- but chatting whilst I waited at the counter) 2. Midway through making my coffee, staff members thought it appropriate to share holiday photos with each other. And the verdict on the take away flat white: average at best.

Such a lovely brunch/lunch spot. We missed the brunch cutoff (12pm) but they still had plenty on offer from pastries, cakes, brownies, savouries (sausage rolls, quiches) and a couple of different salads. I had a mixed salad plate with goats cheese and the portion was very generous (especially of the goats cheese), and the selection of salads was spot on! So hard to find a place that does a good salad these days. Staff were all very friendly and didn't seem to mind at all when my 3 month old started grizzling a bit. Their honey salted brownie was top tier- I will be back purely for this alone 🤤🤤 we went on a Wednesday for lunch and it was quite busy with a couple seats outdoors too. On the smaller side with around 10/12 tables or so but i had no issues with finding a spot to tuck away the pram.

Popped in as needed a pick me up after the museum and the coffee was amazing. Lovely friendly staff, who overheard the hot chocolates were for the kids and didn't make them too hot. Both of ours said they were the best hot chocolates they'd had.

On on a nice day, there is nothing better than to sit outside and enjoy a coffee. This also has a great selection of cakes and I would highly recommend if the weather permits that you give it a try. I was really impressed

This is one of the best coffee stops in Cardiff. The seating area within Gorsedd Gardens makes having coffee outside a lovely experience. The staff are always incredibly friendly, making sure my dog had everything she needed and always up for a chat if you’re on your own. Coffee & food are always delicious!

It is a fantastic location for a coffee and relaxation on a sunny spring day. They also support homeless people by providing a free cup of tea, as per photo included.

Been a regular since 2022 and still the best coffee in Cardiff! Usually served by a barista in beanie hat(apologies don’t remember the name) but I always ask for extra chocolatey mocha if he remembers haha! Appreciate the efforts at hut and north rd cafe as well- when is last day at the coffee shop this month though? Would love to stop by one last time💌

My new coffee break place, just behind hustle of queen street, near the museum a beautiful park and great coffee. Brodies is also now in Bute Park. Great staff. Beautiful outside sitting area.

The best cupcakes, hot chocolates and vegan sandwiches in Cardiff. A super bright and clean little place with great atmosphere and the most lovely staff! We are really looking forward to what they do over the next year as they've got off to such a strong start. It's our new favourite place in Roath.

Instagramable spot with a good ambience but very limited menu. The coffee and iced tea was fabulous but the mac and cheese was really bad for the price. Wouldn't recommend the cafe for food.

This place is a millennial pink dream. It's soft and glowy and a lovely place to escape the outside world for a moment. The vegan donuts are to die for (I tried one with coconut fake 'bacon' and another with lotus biscoff paste) and I recommend the lemonades. As a part time wheelchair user, I can't give it full stars because it is not wheelchair accessible. The staff with help open the front door for you but there is a small step that is hard without assistance and the toilet is too small for even a small chair. That said, it's still a place I'll be coming back to.

The donuts and coffee are so good! My wife and I have made Blanche part of our Saturday morning routine. We go to the nearby farmer's market and then stop off at Blanche for a real treat. The Earl Grey donut and the Pina Colada ones are stunning and many of the others are really tasty.

Incredible food. Great quality coffee and really good service. Can't fault the place and it was really decent value for the quality serving. The interiors are absolutely gorgeous too, the lighting everywhere and lovely muted tones really make the ambiance lovely.

Got recommended this place and it was well worth a visit. A queue formed before opening which was a good sign. Good coffee and a cracking breakfast. The pastries also looked superb!!!

Such an amazing brunch spot - set on a cute street and the staff were so lovely. Food was delicious with great portions. Lots of room inside and out.

I went for brunch with my husband on Sunday around 12pm thankfully there were tables available as I hadn’t booked in advance. We ordered the Eggs Royale but I switched out the croissant roll for some sour dough toast, a chai latte and an iced coffee. Our food came out promptly, aesthetic and was really tasty. Initially we ordered a fresh orange juice but noticed this was just bottled so my husband switched it out for an iced latte however this took a while to arrive. Service was good some staff seemed more experienced than others. Atmosphere was really chilled as it was a beautiful day there was an option to sit outside. Dog friendly.

Ordered a cardamom bun & veggie bap to share & would recommend both. On the pricer end for your usual pastries. Lovely decor with a fresh, homely feel & helpful service. Get there early on a Sat as it gets busy quick!

DO NOT GO! Bought mango today and it's rotten, very bad taste and quality, DO NOT go because the food is not safe at all. So many better choices within 1 mile in Cardiff.

Needed a cake last minute, googled places doing cream cake because cream cake is the best and found Fang’s bakery. Popped in and the staff were awesome and managed to set me up with a cake within 5 minutes. I was incredibly relieved and very thankful! The cake looks absolutely stunning! Thank you to the team, I know this last minute cake was likely a one off and I got very lucky, so thank you for being so accommodating

We tried the mango crepe cake and strawberry cake both of them tasted very delicious however I dun know if its worth it to pay £10 for just two slices of cake hence I have only given 4/5 star for food.But other than the price the staff were so friendly and the shop itself has a only a few seating.

I think it's slightly over hyped, the food there is quite expensive and there wasn't much of a selection when I arrived there just before midday. What I had was tasty enough, I had one chicken spring roll type snack, and some green tea swiss roll. I also had a bubble tea. Each item in their own right tasted nice enough. The tapioca in the bubble tea was over soft and all rather stuck together. Making it near impossible to actually drink as it just blocked the big straw. So I had to sip it from the top in the end.

Best birthday cake 🍰 I’ve ever had in Cardiff. Soft sponge cake with light-sweet whipped cream, decorated by fresh fruits and almond flakes! What a delightful treat in the pandemic.

I went to heaven and back having the food here.. I couldn't believe how tasty and fresh it was. I had Matcha Crepe Cake and Mini Cheesecake. It was amazing. Definitely bringing friends and totally recommend it to everyone. The lady ( Yan ) was very helpful in recommendations as well. Not just "ow everything is nice".

We visited three Pettigrew locations during our stay in Cardiff! Stuff we tried: 1..Creme brulee croissant (10 out of 10): creme diplomat is divine, crunchy exterior tops it off...visited two days in a row for this! 2. Plum Danish (10/10): really top notch laminated dough, jam filled center, and generous cream with lovely slices of plum on top. On par with the creme brulee croissant as my favorite 3. Cheese Mustard Crown (7/10): very good, savory deliciousness, with tear apart cheesy goodness 4. Sausage Roll (6/10): decent sausage roll, but nothing to shout about 5. Semolina sourdough: review is TBD! Customer Service: we dropped one of our coffees on the floor while fumbling with our bag of pastries. The barista was kind enough to brew another Americano for us, and quickly mopped the floor while we apologized profusely. I really appreciate their gesture and reassurance that it was ok and that things like this happen 🙏🏻🥺 Seating: There is no seating inside at the Victoria Park location, but there are picnic tables outside.

Came across this place on a recent visit to Victoria Park and was in disbelief having been served at the prices charged. I ordered two Bacon Rolls, two coffees and a pastry and it came to £23.60. I could not believe my eyes when the price was told to me and assumed there had been some sort of mistake but apparently not. I begrudgingly paid and waited for my food and drinks to arrive. And waited. And waited. 10 mins later my food arrived and a further 10 minutes later my coffees were ready. The food had gone cold by this point which was thoroughly disappointing and no apology from the staff. I work in Kensington, a fashionable, upmarket suburb in London yet have never paid these prices. I find it amazing for what was a few rashers of bacon in a small roll and £3.90 for a latte in a suburb of Cardiff. I think the owner of this place has forgotten his roots and lost grip on reality. When I am back in Cardiff next I would be surprised if this place is still going at these prices. The staff should wear masks when charging

Came here for pain au chocolates, sourdough loaf and an iced vanilla latte. Food absolutely delicious. The sourdough bread was to die for. Service great, wasn’t much choice but I was down after they’d been open for an hour already. Drinks do take awhile to wait for. I would come back here as another treat.

I'm a regular customer, excellent friendly service and top quality bread and baked goods. Plenty of vegan options amongst the cookies etc and appreciate that they regularly innovate and change the products offered to keep things interesting. Vegan roll is the best of it's type around.

Food is great! But probably the last 8 times I've popped in they're basically sold out of savoury food. Usually go in about 1pm and they're sold out of more or less everything. Seems very early to be sold out. Bit frustrating and seems like a consistent problem

Oh have mercy. These pastries were incredible. Brownie pain au chocolat? Starbucks could never. I can't rate the atmosphere as they were having work done inside so the actual bakery was closed, but it didn't stop them serving the good people of Cardiff (and English visitors like myself..!!) as they were outside under cover still dispensing coffee, pastries and bread in the open autumn weather. Seemed like lovely people, the coffee was also very nice, and my relative I was there with said it's always a lovely experience there! If I'm back in Cardiff, I'll be coming back.

We wanted to try something different, went for cheese Kunafas, Muhallebi and cinnamon Basbusa. The two latter desserts were good, but the clear winner was the Kunafa. Just the right balance of sweet and savoury, no wonder it was recommended by the staff. Also, a shout out to the mango juice, one of the best I've ever had.

We are always coming here all the way from Bristol for this delicious kunafa ! We ordered medium one but portions are so big . We couldn’t finish it .

A great dessert spot with a vast selection, plenty of seating or can get a plate of baklava/Syrian sweets to takeaway. Service is fantastic and you're always greeted with smile. One of my favourite places in Cardiff without a doubt.

What can I say! Amazing Dubai chocolate cake bars with cream and milkshake maa shaa Allah, my daughter was very happy on her birthday thank you so much it definitely is the best sweet place in Cardiff!🎉

The place serves a variety of desserts, drinks and juices. I tried their cheese kunafa and pistachio basbusa. The cheese kunafa was superb in taste with a warm and cheesy taste it is a must have. Basbusa is good.

I know everyone raves about the kunafa from here (rightfully so) but I think the baklava deserves more love. Possibly the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had baklava in places like Turkey and Dubai. Absolutely delicious, the bigger baklava fingers have a warm spice flavor which just takes it over the top.

I ordered the carrot cake it was okay but a bit sweet. To drink I’ve ordered the matcha chai latte i quite liked the mix of flavours, however the matcha wasn’t mixed well, there were pieces at the bottom of the cup. Everything was served in take out cup and bags, so even if you are sitting in they still serve you like that. The waiting time to order was a bit long even though there were only two people in front of me. The shop isn’t very spacious, there is a bathroom inside the coffee shop.

A little underwhelmed tbh. Met up with a friend for a coffee and sweet treat. The inside was really quiet and echoey with little atmosphere. Feel like they could use some background music. I ordered a flat white and mince pie. The coffee was weak and not very hot. The mince pie was crumbly and a little burnt. My friend had a cappuccino and ‘croissant bomb’ and was also underwhelmed. I feel like they need to improve a lot given it’s quite pricey.

I have just tried the sourdough bread from Ty Melin, and it is excellent. I will continue to buy bread from here whenever I am passing, since it is so good. The staff are very pleasant.

My favourite bakery in Cardiff. Possibly the world. They really know their way around an espresso machine and the pastries are always delicious. The lemon friand is my favourite. At Christmas make sure you have a mince pie. They are out of this world.

Morning coffee and thought they had already sold out of some morning pastries we were delighted by the items we did have, and the coffee tasted soooo good. Situated within a picturesque Victorian style arcade the ambiance is lovely. Staff were super friendly, helpful and attentive. Can’t wait to go back. See pics for what we had.

Lovely little bakery cafe in high street arcade. Small shop area and some outside seating. More suited for takeout. Great selection of delicious pastries, breads, savoury snacks and coffee/drinks. Recommend the delicious creme brulee croissant! Service was friendly and pleasant. It had a constant line of customers which says it all. Really nice shop with lovely bakes although I wish it had more seating.

Easily my favourite place in Cardiff, I recommend this restaurant to all my friends/family that visit. The staff are absolutely amazing, they're all so so lovely, always making an effort with asking how you are and bringing your food/drinks to you. The atmosphere in the cafe (I always go to Castle Arcade) is so nice, with lovely music and a chill vibe. Perfect for having a catch up or personally to journal. And the food is SO good. I've tried so many of the pastries at this point but my personal faves are the Pain Suisse, Pain au chocolat and Hazelnut pain au chocolat but they're all good. The coffee is really good too according to my boyfriend (I don't like coffee sadly) Genuinely this place is my favourite place to come and me and my boyfriend have made it a weekly Sunday tradition to come here😁

It's a shame thr flat white tasted like warm milk with an aftertaste of coffee. Far too diluted to even be called a flat white. I appreciated the coffee art and it had a nice interior, but the coffee was just very disappointing.

Cute little café with friendly staff and lovely decor. We ordered a Welsh cake and a flat white. The flat white was excellent, but the Welsh cake could have been better—it was a bit firm.

It’s my first time coming here. It caught my eye because it looked like a cute, peaceful and small local cafe. The bakery looked too beautiful to be even eaten! But I don’t regret going there. Staff is very kind and bakery is delicious. I got a spinach and ricotta pastie, it was amazing! Definitely coming back more often. (Small edit to my review - came back here a second time for breakfast. Their croissants are great!).

The bakery has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere — perfect for a quiet break or catch-up. The space is cosy with a nice chill vibe, and it’s clear that care has been taken in creating an inviting setting. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the ambience. Staff were quite cold and inhospitable, which left a bit of a sour note. I ordered the regular pastel de nata and the lemon version. The original was a bit too sweet for my taste, and the lemon one didn’t taste particularly fresh — it felt more like lemon curd added on top of the regular tart rather than a thoughtfully made variation. Overall, a mixed experience. Great setting, average pastries, and unwelcoming service.

Absolutely wonderful food. Nata's are delicious, so much so I had two and a Merenda Mista And chai tea was also really good.

My wife and I came across them today. We loved all the cakes. The pastel which came with our coffee, the coffee biscuit cake, the shortbread biscuit along with the Brazilian Guava drink. The shortbread tasted lovely and tasted like it was handmade and was not produced in a factory. The pastel cake was cooked perfectly and tasted really good. The coffee biscuit cake my wife had more of it, but she loved the cake and it was soft. You can tell the coffee was made with love with the pictures below. It's reasonably priced and very close to castle. Worth a visit if in the centre of Cardiff

Freshly cooked crêpes and very good service. We were given a buzzer to let us know when our order was ready but as it quieten down, they were brought to the table. Also the choices are plentiful to suit most tastes.

Gluten free crepes, a bit crunchy. A variety of fillings. Way too much lemon on the lemon and sugar crepe but I suppose this is subjective. Takeaway crepes come in nice cardboard boxes. I wouldn't say it's great value for money

Really nice venue, a little small and there can be queues but don’t let that phase you, it is well worth the wait. Ice cream made with liquid nitrogen is different and awesome, combine that with all the other goodies on offer and you are in for a treat!

Expensive. A plain double ice cream & some brioche bits was £7.50. You'd be better off with a desert over an underdressed and expensive ice cream. Saturday afternoon, very full, very small. 4 - 6 small tables. What seemed to be 3 kids under 16 running the place. Bit of a wait. Avoid the Saturday rush.

Fantastic selection of fresh ice-cream flavours that changes regularly. My favourite so far is the vanilla and caramelised white chocolate with honey comb and raspberry sauce. Friendly staff and occasional sightings of a 3 legged cute dog! A bit pricey, but worth it. Better to have great ice cream slightly less often than average regularly. Only downside is small seating area.

Ice cream was smooth as you would expect with nitrogen ice cream. However, the flavours weren't really there for me. The vanilla and salt caramel flavours we had were both a bit bland I thought. It also appears, from the bottles they were using, to be made with whole milk and not cream. Although it was nice to have a home made cone, and the smell from them cooking was lovely, it was too thin. All three of ours fell apart in our hands. The cookie dough topping did not taste of cookie dough - it tasted like it didn't contain butter. Difficult to get cookie dough wrong really but they managed. The honeycomb topping came in large chunks which after biting a piece off turned into hard chewy lumps in your mouth, which I didn't find to be enjoyable. The cones were served in a dishwasher-hot sundae glass... I was left feeling disappointed given the price being charged. Could be a lot better with a few small changes.

Just insane place. The experience of seeing your ice cream freshly made and the taste are unbeatable. Whatever you choose, you will love it! Prcies are around 5-6£

I love the ice cream here it is so delicious and since they have opened they have improved in the quality and size of their deserts they are just becoming so serious covered in ice cream and sauce and bits. Not cheap but worth it as a treat. Oh did I mention amazing french toast.

Nice little creamery at the Arcade across from the Cardiff castle. The service was quick but their ice cream was ok.

The tapas was fast and fresh, the deserts were amazing and the staff and atmosphere were great. Only thing I'm not sold on is the app service. It just feels like it's there for the sake of it and it's not the same level of interaction I'd be getting from table service.

Its food festival in the bay , Just wanted some drink and cakes It looks amazing from outside. We ordered Americano and earl grey tea. The cake looks pretty,taste ok. The coffee is nice in small cup. Disappointed about the tea , It says in a pot ,but came with a cup ? Then we asked the waiter,she said she will changed it . Yes she did with another tea pot. Not impressed with the pot at all!

Good couple of hours in the gin garden at Gin & Bake, nice atmosphere in the evening with the music turned high and all seats taken. Great range of gin, all well garnished but not cheap, a large G&T will set you back anything from £10-£20. I always think that in gin bars a standard measure should be 50ml and not priced as a 25ml. Plenty of tapas choice which was really well cooked and fairly priced. Plenty of other spirits, fizz and cocktails for those who don't like gin. Popular place so book ahead.

Their mocktails were amazing and worth the price but the food was good but not upto the mark and bit pricey for the quantity they provide.

I was taken here as a birthday gift on 10.8.21 and would just like to feedback how disappointed we both were with the whole experience. After hearing how much it cost for what we got I was appalled. £32 each for one cocktail we didn’t get to choose, 2 finger sandwiches (one plain thick ham and the other standard cream cheese) and a tiny wrap each along with some dodgy salmon on a cracker (see photo) that when we complained about, all we were told was ‘oh I’ll feed that back to the chef’ with no real apology or solution. Also during this conversation it was mentioned that they put tea cups and saucers on the table ‘in case we wanted a cup of tea’, but during our entire visit we were never even asked, and this was definitely not made clear. Though this may have been due to the fact that not one host came to check in with us until they came to clear away the dishes. Whilst the scones and deserts were lovely they didn’t warrant the extortionate charge, as they were all bite sized and clearly not freshly made. Overall there would have been more food in a children’s lunch box yet they’re charging £32 a head for it. And when we mentioned this to our server his response was ‘oh everyone says that’ so it isn’t just a one off problem. I just wanted to voice my opinion for what is an amazing idea, but has really poor execution and would warn anyone to think twice before spending such an amount on this.

A place you should visit if you are in Cardiff. Fantastic place for afternoon tea ☕️ 🫖 🍪 🍰 with a beautiful location and delicious food 🤤 The most amazing thing is the good energy of the staff with happy faces all the time ( we can see the smiley eyes) .. with COVID-19 you need to have reservation before you come ( my visit was early December)

Visited for the first time for Mother’s Day. Really lovely setting and great afternoon tea. Service could have been a bit quicker but overall would visit again and recommend!

Lovely cafe to relax with a delicious cake to go with your coffee as there are so many to choose from. Man who served me was far too serious, he didn't smile once, I felt very unwelcome plus he didn't even make my cappuccino well, too milky & not hot enough & sadly my cake was warm/stale, I thought it would of been freshly made as they all looked amazing, so be careful everyone, as looks can deceive!

Good experience with afternoon tea but less choice of vegetarian and chicken sandwiches

It is a great place to arrange to meet friends as very central in St David's 2 centre. We had afternoon tea which was nice but not amazing. The cakes looked good but their taste was boring. However I really enjoyed the finger sandwiches. I have had afternoon tea in many venues including serving it in my own cafe & was disappointed that the scones were not warmed up. Overall it was nice though.

Beautiful looking and tasty but expenisive in my opinion. At nearly £4 a cake to eat in, you're better off taking out for a whole pound less. And if you want 3 or more, then you can take out 4 cakes for £10. It was nice, but there are more kick ass desserts out there.

If my rating was made on the cakes alone then it would be 5 Stars, The cakes are beautiful and value for money and will recommend them to anyone! *HOWEVER* the staff service is dreadful, I think just once I had nice service from a male manager, apart from that every single time I leave unhappy with the service I received, the staff are always so moody with attitude, when I had an issue I spoke to a member of staff she didn't apologise once and made me feel super uncomfortable and as I walked off she held a gun sign to her head with her hand, to another member of staff working there she mouthed 'shoot me', very unprofessional.

Just ordered a small takeaway selection, so I stood there in rain while 2 male staff thought it was ok to chat up female clients inside. Then when made them noticed I was waiting the very basic of service . Did like this place , but maybe the owner should be selective of temp staff, product is great but my service ......rating 2/10

I normally always eat the strawberry gateaux but recently they reduced the whipping cream so much that the cake tastes much drier. Today the service was bad as well in Cardiff Queen Street. Very sad because the newly opened coffee shop in Queen Street is quite beautiful inside even though it's horrible dark inside unless you are luck to get one of the 2 tables near the window. There are tables outside as well. Coffee Latte is very strong, more like a cappuccino. Not the best either.

They doughnuts looks amazing , so was looking forward to try one , we got pistachio and lotus biscoff and they wasn't very fresh , dry inside not a lot of filling inside , when you get in to de filling it was quite tasty

Have to say the gent in the van in Leckwiths is super friendly! Love popping by and picking some Saturday treats. Gave 4 stars as would love more filling in them, totally wouldn't mind paying £4each if there was a bit more filling inside, then they'd be absolutely fabulous! 🥰

Let me just say this if you want thee finest donuts in Cardiff you come here . The level of donuts in this place is absolutely awesome. U will have a problem tho ? which donut are you gonna take home and eat it by yourself while soft music plays in the background 😂

UNREAL, I think it’s the best doughnut I’ve ever had! We’ve tried the “Homer” the “Custard Cream” and the “KitKat Chunky” so far and they’re all delectable! A nice little treat for someone too if they need a pick me up. Would love to see some more flavours, maybe a strawberry and cream, coffee or even banana? Keep up the good work guys 🍩❤️

The donuts are nice, big and fresh but I think they are way too expensive for me. I bought two donuts, one with just jam in the middle which cost £2.50! The other one I bought was a biscoff donut which cost £4 which is just a rip off. It came to £6.50 in total! I think the regular jam ones should be about £1.50 and the Biscoff should be about £2.50 each, I know smaller businesses need to make money but come on. No wonder prices aren't advertised on their website.

Finally got around to visiting after over a year of stalking their page! I've read through a few previous reviews & just wanted to share something off the back of them. Firstly, freshness - we ate one as soon as we bought it, light & fluffy as all doughnuts should be. Ate one later on in the evening, same feeling. Ate another the next day after being left out all night and it was a bit stale - but if you left a piece of bread out all night, you wouldn't expect it to remain fresh, so as with all dough products, best eaten on the day of purchase!! 🍩 Secondly, price visibility - there was a clear sign when I got to the counter, 4 for £15, 1 for £4. I seen it walking from my car to the counter before I looked at the donuts, so they're not keeping secrets. Thirdly, price disputes - the donuts are worth their dollar. Aside of the fact they're a small business, you're paying for more than just the product in front of you. A lot goes into baking from fresh (i'm a previous small business owner and know how time consuming baking alone is, never mind the cost of products, admin & bills etc). If you want a cheap, mass produced donut, go to a supermarket. They're large donuts that can easily be ate over 2 sittings. Worth every penny. Fourthly, "too sweet" - I had the carrot cake. First I ate over 2 sittings, second I ate all in one, I don't have a major sweet tooth, and it made me feel sick eating it in one go. Whereas my partner ate both his in one go and barely came up for air. Know your limits 🤷‍♀️ Overall, amazing. Hoping to book them for our wedding & then I don't have to make my own cake! Will definitely return 😍

Absolutely phenomenal food! Tucked away in a light industrial estate, I found it by chance after taking my car to a garage on the site, and I'm glad I did. Wide variety of choice (I picked the Bueno doughnut, jammy dodger doughnut and a choc orange brownie) and they all looked delicious.

Lovely place! Went in for a quick takeaway breakfast, coffee was great, fruit smoothie delicious and the pastries ( hazlenut chocolate and apple cinnamon) were fantastic. All served by pleasant staff who clearly enjoy being there

Glad to find this place. Traditional Maltese pastizzi just like I had in Gozo. Few minutes walk from the city centre, amazing service here by extremely welcoming staff.

Got a bag through the too good to go app and had a selection of breads and a few sweeter things like Welsh cake and some sort of fruit bun. Frozen the bread rolls but am eating the bread now . Can tell its from a proper bakery (trying to not eat processed white bread as much ) unsure what type of bread this is but has some sort of nuts or something healthy in it and it's lovely . And something like a Belgian Bun which was also lovely quality . Caught them closing , friendly polite staff .

staff are friendly! edit, from 24/3 and 25/3: really great savoury bakes - the cheese and onion pasties, sausage rolls, and bacon cheese turnovers are all super tasty. their coffee iced filled buns and apple danishes are both lovely, and make for great desserts for a lovely affordable hot lunch from here! will be returning :)

I do love the pastries, especially their ring doghnut and their custard pastry. But I was dissapointed to have a sandwich for the 1st time and find their chicken and bacon sandwich wasnt fresh, or proper chicken or bacon. It was cubed like lardons that were chewy and fatty. Tasted like the sandwich spread you can by from shops too. Was not pleasant or tasty at all. Nice fresh bread, bit not the filling, and I paid £3.65 for it. Not worth the price at all for bread and cheaply made filler. Il stick to their sweet treats in future.

Pretty standard bakery. Decent baked goods but it would be nice if things were labelled so you have an idea what your looking at/ asking for. Also they make good sandwiches but don’t have a menu and if you ask for them to make one they can sometimes seem a bit put out. Just a few little changes could make Brutons customer experience much easier and less confusing.

Food: Best dirty chai latte I could find in Cardiff so far (good amount of spice and can taste the coffee) their pastries and focaccias are also very good, I'm no vegan but I also enjoy and appreciate the food here. However, service is often a let down. Service: No smile, don't greet customers, oblivious to customers in queue, slow to serve and even when I say thanks after they bring the drinks to the table - no response and staff walks off. Happened to other tables. This is not a one off, happens often. Would be great if they could improve on this

The bread and pastries are good, but the customer service is terrible. I bought a sourdough and asked to slice it. I got 2/3 of the bread because the rest fell from the machine. The problem is that they did not tell me anything! I just realised when I looked at the bag and found a big chunk missing. I went back to the till and asked for a solution, but they only barely acknowledged what happened. I had to return the bread and requested a refund.

Our coffees were delivered to another table- when we finally got them they were Luke warm so had to have add hot water. Toast did not appear so had to go and chase, toast arrived with butter but no knife or napkins. It seemed they had forgotten our order. It was very nice but very poor service sadly

They take 20% for eating in and not informing about that in an obvious way. I just took a drink from a fridge and pointed at a jam doughnut that was displayed, payed by card, and had no idea that I will be charged 20% more, noticed it later at home. The next day I returned to the cafe, and asked why I was charged like that. They explained that it was a service fee for eating in their cafe. Well, guys, that was unpleasant

I have purchased from Calon Lân for myself as well as, gifted for Mothers Day, Father’s Day and Christmas. The presentation is equally as impressive as the Welsh Cakes themselves and everyone I have gifted too has loved them!

I have known Sarah for around 3 years and as well as baking delicious cakes, she is a genuinely lovely lady. Her creative flare has taken Welsh Cake favours to new heights, and is by a mile the most imaginative Welsh Cake business around. Calon Lan is the only one I'd recommend to my own customers.

We ordered our wedding favours from Calon Lân Cakes for our wedding at Pencoed House Estate back a few weeks ago. We ordered two flavours - Coconut & Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate & Orange in a mini heart shaped design, both of which were absolutely delicious. Everyone commented how lovely they were. The packaging was beautiful and the service was just fantastic from start to finish – cannot recommend enough!

Calon lan cakes provided the Welsh cakes as canapés for our wedding. Sarah was so friendly and helpful when I was trying to decide from the vast selection of flavours available. I was so impressed with the quality of her products. No matter what flavour combination you choose they are all superb! It's a good thing I got to have tasters because on my wedding day all of the Welsh cakes were gone within 10 minutes! I highly recommend calon lan cakes for any occasion.

Very well presented bakery with beautiful window front. We tried a few different pastries and thought they were good. We inquired about dairy free cakes and were told that there was nothing available (I understand if someone isn't sure they'd rather not serve you something that could potentially make you ill, but an allergens list wasn't even checked). Since doing research I have now found that are actually several items available - the jam donut brakes, the chocolate and coconut flapjack and the double chocolate meringue, which I will have to try next time :)

Service was rather unfriendly. We bought a veggie and a lamb pasty. They didn't let us know which was which, resulting in a vegetarian biting into the lamb pasty.

Walking into Crispy Kreme, I was immediately greeted by the warm aroma of fresh donuts. I couldn't resist and decided to treat myself to one of their classic glazed donuts. It was absolutely wonderful—soft, sugary, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. As lonely traveler productions little moments like these make my journeys so special; a sweet treat to brighten the day. What I love about Crispy Kreme, wherever I’ve been around the world, is that consistent quality and the inviting smell. Cardiff’s spot is just as good, if not better, with friendly staff and a cozy seating area to enjoy my donut. It’s a perfect quick stop for anyone craving a sugary pick-me-up. All in all, Crispy Kreme Cardiff is a gem within the shopping centre. I highly recommend it—whether you're a local or just passing through, it’s a wonderful place to indulge in a sweet moment. Shocking customer service. The girl served me was beyond rude. How come someone with such low temper work in the service industry? She nearly insulted me to make the other male customer pleased. The only thing that was good were the doughnuts.

I forgot to post this. I had a visit a few weeks back and was served by binx my son is autistic and very over stimulated she was amazing serving us and even managed to calm him down while serving us. She gave me the doughnuts I had ordered and while making my coffee they told me to do what I needed for my son and they would bring my coffee to me when it was finished she handed me my coffee and spoke to my little boy at this time he was still over stimulated she managed to calm him down then apologised when a customer come in as she had to leave. There was other serves there that kept looking ar me weird and made me feel uncomfortable but when binx came up to me it made me realise im only human they gave me amazing advice that helped a lot!!

Went in to buy a 4 for £9.99.. the Harry potter doughnuts have come out. But the sorting hat couldn't be added to the box "it had to be sold separately" I asked why and alls he could say was because... no wonder there was loads of them left over. So we left and went to who cult.

Visited on a Saturday morning. Only one table occupied when we arrived and 4 free. They were hesitant to let us have a table which was a bit weird. I wouldn't mind if they said the tables were booked but they just looked at us oddly. Eventually offered a table. Ordered food and then told we could have the table for one hour only (not a problem) but it would have been nice to know that before we ordered. Anyway, the food was very nice and good portions. The vibe seemed to be aimed at older kids and felt slightly chaotic which was odd as it wasn't overly busy....

Let Them See Cake made our stunning wedding cake and Calon cookies as wedding favours. We chose the Antoinette style 2 tier in Ivory plus an extra tier in Latte for cutting in Lemon sugar, Carrot & Walnut and Coffee & Walnut. They all tasted amazing, especially the coffee and everyone was very complementary. We had 94 guests and there was loads of cake left so we probably didn’t need more than 2 tiers in the end but it was lovely to be able to take some home. We also love the fact that even when the leftover cake is finished, we can always go and have a taste at the shop any time. When the cake was picked up, Gareth very sweetly helped pack the cake in the car which was much appreciated. I’d highly recommend LTSC to anyone getting married. Absolutely perfect.

Came up to see friends and this is where they took us for breakfast. I had the Let them See Cake french toast, it was perfect! We also took some macarons and cakes with us for the day. The strawberry milkshake cake and macarons I'm still craving a month later. Will be back the next time I'm in cardiff. Thanks!

So lucky to have this place on the doorstep! Amazing cakes, fantastic brunch menu and also dog friendly. All the staff are so welcoming. I recently ordered the treat box which is an absolute bargain for the selection of treats you get inside. Had the poached eggs this morning and they were cooked to perfection. Ordered the salted caramel celebration cake whilst there for collection on Saturday. Having eaten a few slices in the past, it was a no brainer to choose this one for a family celebration on the weekend. Keep doing what you’re doing guys ❤️

The staff in this Greggs are always lovely and friendly, and during my visit this morning I witnessed them getting through a busy queue quickly whilst maintaining great customer service, and I think they deserve credit for that

Don’t accept orders

We came in recently to grab some cakes for breakfast as I had found the bakery online. The cakes were tasty, however allergy training is seriously needed. The girl who served us did not know an allergen sheet needed to be produced as I had requested one and was unsure whether the bakery had one. Another staff member helped me out and gave me the sheet so I chose an item which didn’t have any of my allergens. We paid and went to sit outside and my partner stopped me from taking a bite to take a picture. The staff then came running out to tell me there was soybean in the cream inside my cake, something their allergen sheet did not show. I was grateful that they were happy to let me swap for something safe for me to eat. This was fine until I was served, using the same tongs which were covered in cream from the cake I was just told I couldn’t eat. The server then proceeded to use the tongs to try to rub the cream off the new cake which instead, rubbed it in even more. I had to point out that I couldn’t eat it if they had just rubbed in the ingredient they had rushed out to stop me from eating 2 minutes before. I understand it’s difficult to eat out with multiple allergies but that’s the whole point of checking what’s in everything so the risk is mitigated. They did a great job with the food but there needs to be serious improvements to the layout of the allergen sheet as well as staff knowledge on allergen procedures.

Pleasant new cafe/bakery. I had a plain croissant, which melted in my mouth. The cost of a croissant plus a coffee was just over £4, which is very good value. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic. A new independent patisserie & coffee spot in the heart of Roath, Cardiff. Just off Albany road is Bruno’s place. The bakers are in full view whilst a lovely lady makes sure you’re looked after. If your lucky enough to sit - please do so whilst you enjoy a great hot cup coffee ( recommend cappuccino here) and a delicious sweet pastry . Savoury bakes & breads are Devine too .

Lovely small café in Albany area with great pastries and cakes. I loved the cosy interior and how fresh the food was (reasonably priced as well). Wherever I go the cakes are just too sweet for my taste, but I've found that here the sweetness is very subtle. You can definitely tell that they've put a lot of passion and love into what they're doing. Very friendly staff, will be definitely coming back!

Wow. Cakes here are ace, a hidden Roath gem. I bought a couple of creme-pats and the owner threw in a Nata for free when I told him I'd never tried them - and I can see why, they're absolutely gorgeous, will definitely be back for more (update - I did return for more Natas - see picture!). Very cosy and nice plant based pie shop! I had the mushroom and leek pie which was very nice, not too heavy but packed full of veg. The pastry was super crispy and flaky, and not too oily or dense in the middle. My friend had the BBQ jackfruit and pinto bean pie, with chips and gravy. He said it was very delicious! Will definitely come back in future when next in Cardiff to try some of the other pies and sweet treats. The banana bread looked super good and they had a nice range of drinks including seasonal ones.

A hidden gem! I’ve visited the pie box twice now and only found out about it two weeks ago!! The first time I had the French toast and OMG I have not stopped raving about it, I’m obsessed. The second time I ordered the vegan and fry up, which was also delicious! So full of flavour and really great portions, Sophie the owner is really warm and welcoming as well as the women that work with her. Still yet to try a pie but that will be my next order for sure ☺️ Also big plus they are dog friendly!!

With a simple and to the point menu, exquisite cakes and wicked vibe, The Pie Box cafe on Tudor Road is one of the few remaining 100% vegan establishments in Cardiff. A testimony to their tenacity in a fast changing world and a city that was at one point saturated with vegan eateries. The cafe itself is small with two full tables, a window breakfast bar and a bench with a coffee table. Getting a seat required a small wait as the cafe is very popular, especially with folks passing on the river trail nearby. (You can book a table in advance.) We ordered the French toast and the bacon, mac and cheese pie with mustard cheese mash and then had a pear custard pastry and a pistachio chocolate cookie to takeaway. The food was filling, different and delicious something that has people queuing out the door to try. We'll be back! Amazing all vegan comfort food. My friend and I enjoyed it so much we visited two days in a row during our weekend in Cardiff. Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike (such as myself)

Went on the recommendation of family when we were in Cardiff for the weekend. Ended up having a brunch, then taking home pies and sweet treats for tea, then popping back for breakfast on our way to catch our train. Delicious food, lovely friendly service. Super close to the station so pop in if you can. You won’t regret.

Pretty big Greggs, even has a seating area with a large amount of seats to be fair. Ver friendly. Great baguettes, flavoured coffee, as well as bakes, rolls etc including vegan options. Parking available free for 180 minutes. Toilets including disabled loo. Charges differ if you sit in/ takeaway, think slightly more if sit in store. Plug sockets available at many tables

As others say a large airy and nice greggs, but when I visited it was definitely not clean, especially the toilets which were horrendous. Lots of crumbs everywhere too. If they could keep it consistently clean this would be a really good Greggs. Friendly and efficient staff.

I came here to charge my phone whilst I was out. I plugged into the wall with only my usb- type c charger. Then I got a southern fried chicken baguette which was warmed up for me. This was very tasty. I got a cup of tea in a reusable cup. You need to add milk at the condiments station. Comfy seating, warm and welcoming break from the outdoors. Wheelchair accessible and wheelchair toilets. Parking is via large carpark at the front. There are bus routes to this, Aldi, B&M,Currys, the range and B&Q are all very close by if you lile shopping

My third time visiting the Culverhouse Cross branch, each time served by Maria. What a gem of a staff member she is! Very knowledgeable of the products but more importantly, always smiling and always helpful (even when a system glitch meant I had to wait a little longer) Take care of Maria, she is a great representation of Greggs!

Finished breakfast very early, no rolls or Pan o chocs at 10:50. Very annoying.

I ordered a margarita pizza box on Uber eats and it arrived with 2 slices folded in half, with the other 2 slices underneath, meaning that all slices had no cheese and I ended up with 4 slices of just tomato-y bread and the BBQ sauce was put on top of the pizzas (rather than in the designated spot in the box) meaning that MORE CHEESE WAS LOST because it stuck to the pot. Cannot believe they were packaged up this way, as the person packing the order up clearly just assumed there would be no issue as it was ordered through a different app. This is genuinely disgusting and I can't seem to understand what logic was used by the member of staff when putting them in the box (WHICH THEY ALL FIT IN FLAT).

I don’t think I’ll ever understand the UKs love for Greggs. The sausage roll was gross and the staff was miserable. But I can say I’ve been and now I have an opinion about it. I highly recommend to support local vendors over the franchise.

Always love a Greggs, but this store is the worst in Cardiff, won’t be going back. Staff seem fine but the manager, Maria, just ruins the atmosphere with her rudeness and short temper, just making you feel like you’re wasting her time/not welcome in the store. As a hospitality manager, this is not a great example of customer handling to set for your staff.

Had a bad experience at Greggs Café. I ordered takeaway and sat down briefly, but a staff member rudely raised her voice at me saying “You can’t sit here!” in a very disrespectful and discriminatory tone. Completely uncalled for. Hope the management at Greggs addresses this behavior.

I am a daily visitor to Greggs and there’s nothing like being greeted by Paul in the morning, a happy and warm welcome with a speedy service! Always makes sure my behaviour is spot on and wishes me a good day when I leave. An absolute asset to the team 👍👍

I always look forward to my visits to Greggs because of Paul. He greets me with a friendly "young man" every time, which always brings a smile to my face. Not only is he incredibly personable, but he also makes the best flat white I've ever had. And I have to mention his amazing hair—it’s always on point. Paul really makes each visit special!

There's only one reason I go here. The man, the myth...the Paul. Always amazing customer service, relieved to know I still look young every time he sees me and always checking I'm behaving myself. His beautiful flowing locks and conversation are the best way to start the day. Gregg's employee of the year hands down. Never change Paul. The custard doughnuts are good.

The strawberry lemonade ice cooler drinks taste amazing but gone in a couple of short sips. Very pricey for something so little. Bacon and egg rolls are also steep for what they charge , the tandoori baguettes and others need more fillings. All about the 💰💰💰

The food is always fresh and well presented in the counter fridge. Always a good selection of fillings meat fish & salads. The place is clean fridges well stocked with a choice of drinks from fizzy to fruit juice and water. Although this is a Greggs and the products are the same in most stores it's the efficiency of the staff at services to the public that makes this store great. PS if the people at Greggs could introduce a wholemeal baguette I would think that it would be great.

Cashier couldn't understand my American accent and messed up my order. I got the last baguette so I had to get refunded in cash when I used my app. Not ideal during a pandemic. Dont recommend. Every other Greggs can understand just fine.

A pleasant surprise to find a Greggs outlet at an airport. The prices seem in line with any high street Greggs branch. This outlet is on the landside, pre-security scanning area, but the airport is so small this should not deter you. Prices at the cafe airside, post security are about double. I was pleased to get a large decaf coffee and flapjack for just over £3. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was quite busy with airport workers who I am sure also appreciate the value.

Like a Barista Fay can make a flower pattern on coffees. Well impressed. It is always nice to know that she is on duty. Yan the manager is also very pleasant as are the other girls that work there. Sit down area is always clean and the arm chairs are very comfortable. It is never too much trouble for the staff to put wedges and other items into the convection oven. Cheekly I always ask for extra dips and always they are happy to oblige. The atmosphere at the sit down area is very quiet and comfortable. Nice pictures on the wall. Cardiff airport is one of the quieter airports but this greggs can compete with the best. Better service, better coffee than Costa.

Couldn't eat it. The Steak bake contents was reminiscent in appearance of something I might inadvertently put my foot in during a walk in the park. I'm finding it hard to find an adjective that fully embraces the taste experience, although possibly the awfulness of it could be lessened had the food been warmed to a temperature that I think could only be achieved by leaving it near a luke warm radiator. Inedible.

Amazing food, delicious baguettes and many other foods which I could recommend. The staff are friendly and communicate well with everyone. Overall, a nice simple bakery if you're looking for something quick and cheap to fill you up.

Arrived on a Thursday 6:50am. Store completely shut still, supposedly open at 6:00am. Pointless

Everytime I've come to this store none of the food is ever hot nor fresh, basically with this store don't bother unless you wanna buy stale bread or cold food, I've been to multiple greggs and this one by far is the worst, seriously needs a change of direction.

Come here every weekend. Good staff. Freya in particular was super patient and helpful when it was busy.
