Great design, great location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food selection was great. I ordered burgers with salad on the side. The salad could be more flavourful but still tasted healthy! The burger was delicious! I would definitely go back to try other items in the menue.

The food was spectacular. The appetizers all seemed appealing, decided with the Baked Brie to start. Delicious and good portion. Shrimp and Lobster dinner was very well made. Portion of seafood was more than fair, definitely recommend. Also tried the Lamb Chops, which was good but slightly under seasoned. Cooked perfectly. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Great lighting, big windows. Patio and scenery would be spectacular in summer as it’s right beside Lake Superior.

Pork belly hash was delicious here!! Also enjoyed the ceaser🍸which was presented beautifully with a pickle and a slice of bacon. Sat outside on the patio and it was lovely, waitress was super kind and outgoing.

Awesome place! I’ve celebrated my birthday with Bight. Lobster pasta was creamy! Fried Chicken was also special. Duck Confit the best!!!! Nice vibe; great value! Worth the money!!!!!

Nice modern restaurant in the harbor area of Thunder Bay. Plenty of choice, many cocktails AND mocktails. Sandwich was excellent and the “dessert” was nice and sweet. Service is fast and friendly.

The food is FANTASTIC!! Best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had- it’s real house made pastrami- not the pink shaved stuff from the butcher. And they have the best GF buns I’ve had at a restaurant! Highly recommend.

Went to Caribou for the first time. Drinks/Food were good. The mule was great. We didn’t care for the zucchini fritti that went with the lamb meatballs and thought it would be better without the breading. Tostadas excellent. I’m not really a pork chop type person, but I did enjoy it. It was very soft and the flavours were great. The Korean steak was a feature item and it was good but we didn’t care for the rice much. The dessert was amazing. Service was really good. Our server was attentive and efficient. The atmosphere was OK. It was a little dark and a lot of voice noise. It could use an update. Drinks: Negroni and Mule App: lamb meatballs and tostadas Main: blackened pork chop and Korean fried steak Dessert: Coffee and Creme Framboise

This is a must-visit restaurant when you are in Thunder Bay! Ever since we discovered it we make it a point to go whenever we are in the area. The service is outstanding, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The food and beverages themselves are excellent with a nice variety. We have ordered different items including their salads, their fried seafood, their pastas and pizzas, and their pork chop entree. All were delicious, with the most recent visit in 2024 being for a graduation dinner. All of the items come highly recommended and I urge anyone reading this to check the menu for seasonal specials. The order from the graduation dinner was: Sleeping Giant Brewery Beer, their caesar salad, their seasonal shrimp special item, the rabbit mafalde pasta, the seafood pasta, and the raspberry creme brulee. I would rate this more than 5 stars if I could and I will be back!

Good overall experience at Caribou, however the food was a bit underwhelming. My coworkers and I were travelling from out of town when we decided to dine at Caribou for dinner. Our server was excellent and the atmosphere was great but unfortunately the linguine was overcooked and mushy. I do highly recommend the crab dip and misto fritti as starters. Overall good restaurant that we would try again.

One thing I heard you should try in Thunder Bay is the Fig & Pear pizza at Caribou. So, when I visited in June I made sure to stop and get a carryout. It was ok. I wouldn't get it again. Definitely would try something else. It's a very nice restaurant. Friendly staff. But I've had better pizzas with that same flavor profile elsewhere. Though it is a good crust.

We luckily picked this spot for our one supper as we passed through the city. The food was wonderful and the restaurant was very nice! Riley was our server and she was more than great, she gave a great drink recommendation and was very attentive. We asked for some coffee shop recommendations for the next morning and she delivered! Enjoying our coffee right now from one of the places she suggested. Overall a great hidden gem and definitely recommend stopping there!

I was looking forward to eating here and it did not disappoint! I got the lamb meatballs appetizer and it was quite hearty and delicious! I ordered the tuna as my main and it was light yet still filling and tasty as well. The staff was very nice and the service was excellent. One of the best meals I had in Thunder Bay!

The food, service and atmosphere was just so great. Everything we had was so delicious! We understand why it's always packed in Caribou. I would advice that you make a reservation before you go! I was able to try all the meals because so I got a taste of everything each from my friends' plates and vice versa. It was all so delicious. The cocktails and mocktails were also well mixed! We will be back! The service was exquisite! Our waitress was great!

Ordered this via skip the dishes, it’s disgusting. When I called the restaurant to tell them it was under cooked, they said it’s temperature checked and a new oil. I want to ensure no one orders this. It’s absolutely disgusting. I had one and put the rest in the bin. It was soggy and super fishy, if this is how they make this on the regular, I would not recommend.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent service. I was recommended the Spicy Chicken and Cashew Bowl, and it was packed with flavor—tender, juicy grilled chicken, crisp snap peas, red pepper, chow mein, all served over basmati rice. If you enjoy a good kick of heat, this dish is definitely for you!

Went out with the fam to celebrate some anniversaries, overall pretty good experience, but was slightly let down from my high hopes. We shared the crabcakes as a starter (which were very nice). Had the Cucumber Smash to drink, which I think I've been spoiled on cocktails lately so it didn't really compare to some of the other options in town. And went for the gnocchi as the main course. All in all, nothing to write home about, but as a safe pick for a family outing it should definitely be a contender.

I have never posted on here before and I am typically never one to complain. I work in the service industry so I get how these things go. It gets busy people get stressed, sometimes things are slow, doesn’t bother me at all. BUT I feel the need to say this now because this is not the first, second, or even THIRD time I have either witnessed or experienced this myself. I attended the 5 forks Patio last night where I was given lovely service by my waitress. That was not the issue. While I was waiting to be seated there was another woman worker, appeared to be a manager, she was bit older with long dark hair. I could hear her quite loudly yelling at the staff around her, being extremely rude and belittling to them. Unfortunately I have had the displeasure of being served by her before… of which I never said anything because people can have off days… this clearly is not the case here. Throughout my experience last night I could tell employee morale was quite low and I was NOT the only one who noticed or checked in with the other waitstaff to see if they were doing alright. When I was served by this lady before it was the worst possible service I have ever received. The first time I was served by her me and my friend were sat inside, and we both asked for waters. She didn’t bring them. So i asked again. Again no waters. She asked us if we wanted any alcohol drinks we both said no just the waters please. We never received them. I ended up going to my car to get us our water bottles. We got our food and there was an issue with my friends order (her chicken fingers were quite burned — almost black) and we never complain. She just mentioned it to the server and asked if she could get new ones and she just said “oh sorry” and walked away. She saw we had our water bottles on the table… still did not bring us waters or check in or anything. This time last night I could hear her complaining about her long shift and being exhausted yet not doing anything but leaning either against the wall or in the bar. These are just two of the horrific experiences I and a few others have had with this particular person and I feel absolutely terrible for all the staff that had to put up with that last night. No one deserves to be treated like that by management in the workplace.

My husband's French fries were too spicy. The waitress said they weren't , but we're seasoned. Wow..they were hot, not simply seasoned. My gnocchi was way over cooked. Mushy in my mouth, no firmness. Flavour was ok. I ate about a third but didn't finish. I got a discount.

Our server was great. She was friendly, timely, and accommodated us right away when it started raining. I will go back for drinks on the patio!! As for the food - For being such simple dishes ordered the food was mediocre. I would like to go back and try entrees again as it has been years. None of us were overwhelmed by our dishes. However, being a locally owned restaurant I will try again.

Absolutely beautiful Patio and the food was SUCH A SPECTACULAR experience!!! We had the steak and shrimps! Also ordered the Thai chicken bites as starters. Had the mojitos and beers. Then we got dessert as well. For dessert, they only had the cheesecake. It was really delightful and the timing from ordering to getting our meals was very quick. We will definitely be revisiting!

Great place for craft beer and music in Thunder Bay. Spacious, old pub style, over 25 beers on tap and many cans as well. Regular music events look great although I did not attend one. Bartender knows his stuff. Food is regular pub fare but good quality. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Recommended destination.

Locally owned and operated, great place for a drink and or full meal, large portions for every dish offered. Nice staff. This place is pretty popular, many themed evening events through out the year, fun atmosphere. It will get full and loud on the weekends and some evenings. So plan accordingly. Thank you Foundry for your years of dependable, clean, honest service.

Great place! We had the mac and cheese and fish and chips. Both were delicious! Shout out to our amazing server, Maya! Super friendly and checked on us a few times throughout the course of our meal. Highly recommend!

Just left dinner from there. I have only ever had good service there one single time and it was certainly not tonight. Consistently have awful service from the servers there. Our server took our order and never returned till I went up to where she was standing and talking and asked her for boxes. She walked by us plenty of times. The food was cold and honestly not that good. Other than the mozza sticks, those were good I also just wanted to say thank you to the server who brought out our app, the cutlery and plates and our mains. You were wonderful!! I didn’t catch her name but she had brown hair and glasses!

Staff were rude. No tables cleaned, but they were almost all empty. She looked at us like we were crazy for wanting to sit and have a drink, told us “hope you aren’t here to eat”. Overall, so unimpressed with the hospitality at this establishment. Left without ordering drinks or food.

It has been a while, and it will be a very much longer while until I go back. The food has really taken a nose dive from what I remember, and there is not so much on offer either. More money, less food, much less quality. Can't blame the front of house staff, they're awesome.

Kelsey’s has become a go-to spot for me and my buddies, and for good reason! We’ve been there multiple times, and every visit has been a great experience. The food is consistently delicious—well-prepared, flavorful, and served hot. Whether it’s wings, burgers, or one of their signature dishes, everything we’ve tried has been spot on. The service is just as impressive. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making sure we have everything we need. It’s clear that they take pride in what they do, and that makes a big difference in the overall dining experience. Beyond the food and service, Kelsey’s has a great atmosphere—laid-back yet lively, making it the perfect place to hang out with friends. With such consistency in quality and hospitality, we’ll definitely be returning again and again.

I had a spectacular dinner. Callan L was my server, and let me tell you about how fun and welcoming of an experience I had this evening. He is so kind, funny, the BEST vibes, and you can tell he genuinely cares for every single table he serves. He’s truly amazing with his work, and I cannot wait to return!

Everytime Hunter and Meaghan serve me it’s amazing. They always make sure everything is perfect. Pop glass never empty and neither is my stomach, will be requesting them every time I come in!

Had an awesome evening at this location with my partner. We were served by Mr.Ray who is an amazing person. He was kind and accommodating which made our experience all the much more better even though they had a busy night. If I could give his service 10 stars, I would. The food was fresh, tasty and especially the restaurant was cleaaaannnnn. Kudos to their team work too. They all had each others back by checking every table in timely manner. All in all, thank you very much to the staff at this location for a great night.

I am a frequent customer of Kelsey’s. The country vibe with great food is what attracted me to this restaurant. I have to mention one of their servers Athul. He was a great sport and was with us throughout the dinner. He was the one who recommended loaded nachos and honey garlic wings. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. They must give him a raise. Looking forward for more dinners.

Service was slow with it taking 40 minutes to get our food after ordering - restaurant maybe half full at best so no reason for slowness. Ordered a beer with my meal. I reminded the lady who brought my meal that I had a beer as well which she never brought despite indicating she would. My waiter finally did near the end of my meal so declined at this point. Food was good but not filling. Disappointed greatly with the service.

It had been awhile visiting Apple Bees, but it was a great experience this evening. The staff at the door were friendly and greeted us upon arrival. We were immediately seated and menus were given, along with beverages shortly after. We placed our orders and food arrived promptly (apps within 15min and mains about 15min after). Our waitress Tina was great. Staff all seemed to enjoy working there, which makes a difference. The restaurant and bathroom were clean and appeared well stocked. Food was reasonably good for chain food. Overall, an enjoyable time out here.

Quite enjoyed my experience at AppleBees in Tbay. I love the atmosphere and the service was fantastic. Our food came out super quick which was awesome. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich with garlicky green beans. The sandwich was tasty, juicy chicken, beans were good (not over cooked) but not super garlicky. Overall the serving was satisfying and I was happy to see that you could choose from a few different sides without an up charge as I’m trying to stay away from getting fries all the time!

Placed an order for carryout. I was told it was ready at 6:34pm. I drove to the store and arrived at 6:35pm, to be told it would be another 30 minutes at least. I called and asked if I could be notified when it’s actually ready so that I wouldn’t make another trip in 30 minutes just to find out I’d have to wait again - I was told the only tracker available for that is the online tracker, which says it’s ready at 6:34pm (which is not accurate), and the person on the phone estimated 45 minutes to one hour. After hearing this I decided to cancel the order since the estimated times are now 30mins-1hour after the first time given, and I cannot justify driving back a second, possibly third time to pick up a pizza.

Had delivery. Pasta was hot and the boneless wings were better than anywhere I've had. The driver was polite( took the time to ask how my day was going). All in all a good experience 😋

Very disappointed by the Pizza Hut as being a vegetarian I found the piece of meat in it that’s not ethical at all . Not only it did ruin the meal but it also shows the lack of care in handling the customer orders properly this is very frustrating and disappointing.

Location is bad, barely any frosting in the Cinnabon dessert, wing sauce great but wow serve full size chicken wings not wings from a baby chick.

Never judge a book by its cover, because this was an amazing Thunder Bay burger joint. Several people highly recommended it, and I’m glad we went. It’s definitely a must-try, and I’ll definitely be back. However, there were a few minor things to note. The service was a bit slow, which made sense because when the food was ready, it was exceptional. There were a lot of takeout deliveries, which probably contributed to the slow service.

Delicious. Reasonable price. Passing through Thunder Bay, I found the place through trip advisor. I got jalepeno cheddar burger. It was so good and only $10. On my way back through, I stopped again and got the swiss mushroom. Also excellent. Will have to stop here every time I come through Thunder bay now.

Staff was so nice! We were traveling from out of country and the person taking our order gave us cookies and a drink upgrade! The food was absolutely delicious and the menu provides many options!

Hostess was excellent! We ordered our food, which was absolutely amazing btw, and they accidentally dropped too many fries and didn't want to waste them so they gave them to us! All in all the 4 of us ate for about the same price as fast food, but dramatically better. We will for sure be going next time we go to Thunder Bay!

I would comment on Facebook as suggested under a different review, however business owners need to realize that not everyone uses Facebook. Although I have never been inside the actual establishment, I have had the food on a few separate occasions. The food historically has been pretty consistently great! I do understand the issues using the third party delivery services, however, not everyone drives or can get to the actual business. I have had issues with third party deliver services previously with different restaurants so my only suggestion here is to recommend looking into providing a private delivery service of your own for your business so that you have more quality control with your products. I am not a fan of skip to begin with, but sometimes you need to chance it for delicious food. If the food quality becomes consistently poor, then I'm sorry but that's on the establishment most likely. Just to add to the previous review, how is the fact that the cheese curds were not even melted, the delivery company's fault? Also, minimal gravy...did the driver eat some of the gravy? Is that what's being implied?

After patiently waiting for over an hour and a half for delivery I got a poutine with cold fries, unmelted cheese and very little gravy. The burger was dry and over cooked with a soggy bun. I've ordered before and was much better. Hopefully it was an off night but still very disappointing

The 5 star is based solely on the food. The service was great we barely waited for any of the courses. I had the bacon carbonera with chicken I also tried the rib eye and wow both were fantastic. I'm from London and wish we had this restaurant there. The soup beef barley amazing. The cesar salad was fresh and the bread so light and fluffy. Combine that with the garlic butter, the whole meal was amazing 👏

Had dinner at Prospector my for my birthday. The food was delicious and the portions were big. Sage was our server and she was amazing, very friendly! Thank you for a great meal and great service.

The food is absolutely delicious, with large portions that include free bread, soup, and salad. The seafood chowder is a standout, and the steak is cooked to perfection—tender and full of flavor. The staff are super friendly and professional, making the whole experience even better. Definitely worth the price!

I recently dined at Prospector Steak House in Thunder Bay and loved it. I started with a beef soup, followed by crispy calamari with tangy sauces. My main course was a medium cooked steak topped with shrimp, served with fresh asparagus. For dessert, I enjoyed a warm, crumbly treat with creamy ice cream and caramel. Every dish was delicious, and the experience was fantastic. Highly recommended!

One of our oldest, best establishments in Thunder Bay. The Prospector ceaser salad is incredible, the buns are delicious, amazing cuts and steak selection. Soups etc. Its all good. Nice staff, attentive. Thank you very much. A must try for a hearty meal.

The Prospector was a place that my family went for celebrations: delicious steaks and the soup and salad bar! I decided to introduce my husband to it on our anniversary, but we were very disappointed. The calamari in the appetizer was tiny and 33% of the dish was actually red pepper, breaded and disguised as calamari. The breading tasted strongly of dill and sort of raw or dough-like. I ordered the sirloin: blue. My husband ordered the ribeye: rare. His steak came correctly cooked, but the meat was sinewy. My steak came grossly overcooked: medium rare to medium. It was tough, tasteless (except for the exceptionally salty mushroom sauce on top). I saved it for my dog ☹️😂. We had a phenomenal waitress who recognised that we were unhappy with the calamari and didn’t charge us for it. She brought us extra soup and buns when we asked. But we did have to ask. The chowder was delicious, though! As were their classic fresh buns and garlic butter. I’m saddened that my last memory of the Prospector will be a poor one.

Another wonderful meal at a long standing ‘go to’ in Thunder Bay. Although it’s a steak house, you can feel very safe with the curveballs on the menu. The butter chicken and coconut curry were delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes are my entire family’s favorite side. We had excellent service tonight from our waiter/bartender Cory. Very attentive and had excellent suggestions. Bathrooms were clean. Parking in this area can be difficult but we found great parking close by today.

I never write reviews but we had such a horrible experience tonight I had to. We waited 70 minutes for our meal, with the waitress avoiding us like the plague. When the meal finally arrived after it had serious shrinkflation - the chicken was about the same size as my bun, it was literally four bites to finish it. I asked to speak to the manager and she did not have any concerns about our experience and did zero about our horrendous experience. She made me feel like I should be grateful I got to spend my money there. Needless to say I will never be going back!!

We tried this restaurant for the all-you-can-eat ribs. The ribs themselves were okay — the BBQ and honey garlic sauces were tasty, although the other sauces we tried weren’t to our liking. The bread that came with the dish was also good. Overall, the ribs were decent, though the presentation looked better in the pictures than what we actually experienced. My wife ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes, and unfortunately the chicken was very disappointing. It had a strange, fibrous texture and just didn’t feel like good quality. For our little one we ordered mashed potatoes with green beans — the mashed potatoes were fine, but the green beans had no flavor at all and seemed very poor in quality. Overall, the meal was just average. The ribs and sauces were the highlight, but the chicken and vegetables really brought the experience down.

We waited 25 minutes for 2 meals, which were just chicken tenders and a chicken wrap. The chicken wrap was burnt. After telling the server of our disappointment, the manager decided to hide away in the office. The table behind us also told us that the food was cold. Disappointment

I went to Swiss chalet on Mon Aug 25th , it was fairly busy with a 1 table with 20 people. I sat for 10 minutes before my server acknowledged me. After I ordered my food and drink it took another 5 minutes for my drink to come out. And another 40-45 minutes before I could get my food. While tables around me we're getting food. The table beside me came in 25 minutes after I did and got appetizers and drinks right away within 10 minutes. And we got our entrees at the same time. I'm disappointed in the service. And I felt as if I was treated unfairly. Swiss chalet thunderbay please do better. Next time around. The pictures are when the order was put in. And when I was able to pay 6:01pm order was punched in and when I paid 7:11

We had high hopes coming in for lunch yesterday, but the experience was disappointing. One of the servers, a lady with pink and blue hair, barely acknowledged us. She spent most of her time chatting with other staff and never once came by to check how the food was or if we needed anything. We felt completely ignored throughout the meal. We have been visiting this restaurant for past 2 years, but we have never felt so neglected. When you go out to a sit-down restaurant, you expect to feel welcomed and looked after. Otherwise, we might as well have ordered in. The food was fine, but the lack of attention and care really took away from the overall experience. Definitely not the level of service we expected.

From time of seating to getting our ( cold ) dinner was over an hour. The resturanat was not too busy but unfortunately our server was not keeping up. We left with our supper in a bag. I wanted to show pictures of inside of chicken because it was quite under cooked.

Food tastes great but was lukewarm ribs and fries. Restaurant was reasonably busy, short staffed, so I understand some but service was lacking. Waitress seemed to have no time for us but one's attitude can always be good. It wasn't. Only one ticket was usable the others a mess in ladies. Mens had urine all over the floor. No finger bowl, asked for rib sauce and was given chalet sauce. Not a great experience.

Honestly one of the best burger places I've ever been to. The taste of the food is phenomenal, beyond any other burger place. The service is also fantastic, if you eat in they walk the food out to you. The price is also on par with other fast food places, which gives it an even better reason to eat here instead of elsewhere. I recommend 10/10 and would eat here over anywhere else anytime of the week.

Stopped here at Burger Bark while passing through Thunder Bay on our trip from Edmonton Alberta to Toronto. The food was absolutely fantastic, you can tell they put care and quality into everything they cook. we even ordered more food to take on the road with us. Highly recommend checking out this gem if you want good quality food. The service was incredible as well, food came quick and everyone was so friendly and happy to help and talk.

The burger barn does it different! Great prices, great service and great food!! So refreshing to go out to eat and not get absolutely hosed! Burgers and poutine was phenomenal…I’d give 7 stars if I could!

Ordered soup and got stew? So thick that it's not edible. Maybe whomever dishes it up should make a judgment whether it should be served.

This may be one of the best burger experiences I have had recently. I had a cheezy bacon burger with their poutine. I don't know why I have never had these two things together before but it was a fantastic experience. Adding to the experience was great service. We arrived at the end of a lunch rush and still got our food quickly. If you like burgers and are in the Thunder Bay area, you really need to stop by. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Pretty good burger, first time here and didn't realize you had to request ketchup, tomatoes etc. My burger was good I bet it would have been amazing if I ordered the way I like. Fries are fresh cut and amazing. Great customer service . I would definitely recommend a visit

Stopped in driving across Canada. Food was great and the staff were super friendly. If I lived here I'd be a regular for sure. I'll be back any time I'm in Thunder Bay.

My dad recommended we swing by for a slice of pie, and we ended up trying 3! We had the banana cream and coconut cream pies as well as a slice of blueberry cheesecake. All were absolutely divine, though my favorite was the cheesecake because it was exactly like my grandma used to make when I was a kid and nostalgia hits super hard. Don't skip out on this place - the pie is divine and the crust is out of this world!!

I called this morning to place. An order for delivery The lady that answered the phone. Asked me if I could wait on hold. I waited on hold for over 7 min for her to tell me she was the ONLY employee working at the moment and couldn't do deliveries. I find that hard to believe that she is cooking all the food and serving people at the same time. Not impressed one bit with being lied to and I felt like I was being patronized. I do not recommend using this restaurant for delivery service. I am extremely disappointed and disheartened.

Hot day..ordered a cold plate to pick up. Absolutely the best. Dill potato salad, fresh green salad with real turkey and lots of roast beef.. slices of bologna. Enough for a snack later.

My favourite here is the hot turkey. Delicious.

We went on a Sunday night around 6pm, not too busy which was nice. The establishment itself is worn but clean, what you'd expect from a place that's been around for years. My wife wanted to try the Cauliflower Wings and I am game for pub food. Ordered Cauliflower Bites, Deep Fried Pickles, Onion Rings and a Buffalo Chicken Burger with fries. As far as how the food came out, it was perfect as far as deep fried food should come out, crispy and not greasy, the guy doing the cooking that day was spot on. As far as the food itself, the Cauliflower Bites were in kind of Beer Batter, my wife thought they were okay, but not great. The Deep Fried Pickles, were good, couldn't probably improve, would order again, the Onion Rings were the best of the apps we had, definitely order again, hands down. Now for the Buffalo Chicken Burger with Fries, I was considerably disappointed, as it was just 2 Chicken Strips aligned on the bun to cut perfectly diagonal, rather than say, a Chicken Breast or some kind of Chicken Burger Patty, whether they ran out of the usual Patties and this was a substitute, it wasn't a Chicken Burger to say the least. I understand that, yes it could be difficult to house batter chicken breasts and cook them like the Persian Man does for their Chicken Wraps, but for the price I was expecting a bit more, as for the fries, out of a bag, once again, I am sure they are limited to making fresh cut fries. I don't expect I'll be returning for food, but for refreshments and some games, I'll definitely return. Service was okay, our server would forget things and we would have to ask a second time, but she was pleasant and nice. We noticed they had plenty of take out going out, so kudos to the cook.

When driving across country, I decided to stay in Thunder Bay, and because the online menu of “On Deck” looked great, I wanted to try it. The staff seemed friendly, enough, but considering how there were only a few people sitting in the establishment, everything took forever! It felt as though the staff knew we were from out of town, and chose not to check in. We ordered the chicken nachos to start, as a shared appetizer. We also ordered two soft drinks. I ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich as my meal. Not one of those things were good, except for the fries! The drinks were flat and had an unusual taste to them. The nachos were cold and didn’t come to the table until the other food was ready, as the waitress said she wanted to wait to bring everything at once. The chicken parm sandwich was dry, no sauce, barely any cheese, and the bun was an unusual choice as it didn’t taste or look like it should have been there.

Unlike other reviews, I had no issues at will with the service and I'm definitely not a local... service was prompt and friendly though it was a busy night with a Stanley Cup Finals game going on. Didn't try the Food, though they did have free Popcorn. Drinks were reasonably priced and a few Pool tables made it a fun place to hang out... would definitely recommend.

Tried this place based on a recommendation and we were more than pleased! The food was awesome! Some of the best onion rings and poutine we’ve had in awhile! The burger and chicken quesadilla were also very tasty. Our waiter was super nice. The place itself had a cool vibe and would probably be a lot of fun on the weekend or with a group. They have pool tables if you play.

If I could I would give 0 stars. No accommodations to my disabilities. Made me move around 3 times for just one drink and finally when I told her I'm disabled with a service dog I was told not to raise my voice. Loser bar with loser staff. Never will I come back here . Will be calling the manager as well

We ordered the super nachos to go last night, and they were amazing! Next time I'm in town, I'll definitley be dining in and trying some of the other options they have!

Really enjoyed ending a great night out in ThunderBay at On Deck! We had never been before to TB before and was recommended to check it out from multiple serving staff at surrounding bars. We enjoyed playing multiple games of pool and listening to great tunes. The patrons were friendly and respectful. At first I found the service staff a bit intimidating but as the night went on they were fantastic. Little Jordan was an absolute doll and was very personable. The chicken wings were so damn good as well. Keep up the good work!

Halfway through eating my burger I noticed mold on the bottom bun. Pretty damn gross

Not bad, most of the time they are quick , I love the taste of their food always HOT, same employees most of the time they are somewhat nice ... Most of the times I have been there it was not busy . Great deals on the app!!!

The kitchen from just standing waiting for my food was kinda gross old fries napkins and other food/wrappers on the ground. I had to wait for fries but by the time I walked to the car they were Luke warm at best, and little to no salt they were crispy though. Chicken strips were good and my burger was good. Seems like the fountain drink is either broken or out of syrup or not enough in it or it's just diet drinks. Overall I'd eat at this location only in a pickle but the other location seems better.

I had such a great experience at Wendy’s the other day! I went through the drive-thru and ordered seven Baconators (yes, seven 😄), and I couldn’t believe how fast everything was ready. I was literally still sorting drinks in the car and paying when they handed me the entire order hot, fresh, and perfect. The team was super efficient and friendly. Honestly, you don’t see that kind of speed and service everywhere. Definitely coming back!

ordered a burger , i made a mistake and forgot to order no ketchup. paid for the order and i realized just as i received my bag of food. i asked politely and nicely to get it remade and apologized for forgetting. the employee at the window gave me attitude and looked as if he wanted to decline. i held my burger out and he reluctantly took it and shook his head while he walked away. i noticed and it made me upset so i mentioned it to the employees, he came back and asked me what was wrong. i told him that his behaviour was rude and he told me that i should have ordered no ketchup at the speaker box. i told him that i made a mistake and he visibly looked annoyed. he walked away and did it again. second time he did it made me mad at this point, so i called him out. he came back and apologized.. the parking lot was empty, i was the only vehicle in the drive thru so not like my request was making anyone wait the extra 1-2 mins it took to re make it. won’t be returning to this location. if you’re annoyed with a customer at least wait to express it when you’re no longer in view of the customer 🤷🏻‍♀️

The food was good. Service was slow. Dinning area was dirty. No clean tables. All the door handles where sticky or had stuff on them.

I can respect what they're doing with this restaurant and the history. The culture and people here are what make the place great. Everyone is treated like friends and there seem to be a lot of repeat customers and a great community built up. I like how they have a limited menu so you know what you're getting each time. The coney dogs and fries were very good, but I was not impressed by the burgers here - kind of wet and sloppy. As someone who hasn't eaten here before, I would have preferred something like a grilled or smashed burger. But I can see people coming back for the nostalgic flavors and experiences they grew up around.

I moved away from Thunder Bay almost 20 years ago and I lived off of their Coney burgers. I came back from Saskatchewan for an unexpected unplanned trip. Went back twice this time around. I had to have my Coney burgers. They are the best burgers I've ever had.

I had to try this burger when a local friend recommended the place and was pleasantly surprised! I had no idea what coney sauce was, and I don't think we have it anywhere back in Winnipeg, but it was delicious and also reasonably priced! Whenever I come through Thunder Bay in the future I will be making sure to drop in again.

Soon to celebrate it's 100th year!!! This is a cornerstone business of this city. It has maintained the same menu, the same care and quality of product, the same vintage appearance that I have come to rely on for as long as I can remember!!! When so many things are continually changing, it's nice to be able to step back in time even if just for a moment!!! :)

They have the very best coney dog in the city. The other good places for coney dogs I know don't have dine-in options, like McKellar does. So, really it's only option for me most of time.

Had a great Coney Burger and fries here. The small order of fries is easily sharable for 2-3 people. Anytime I'm in Thunder Bay I make a point of coming here.

Ordered through the McDonald's app. We spent on the delivery fee and other additional fees, only to find out that there’s a missing order. We drove back to the store, and the Indian staff in front didn’t want to believe us, like hello we won’t waste our time making up a story and drive back to your store for a burger if we really didn’t receive it. That's why we ordered, because we don't want to go out. He still needs to get advice from his manager. We realized that they had given us a cheeseburger rather than a McDouble burger when we got home. Also, when ordering fries, packets of ketchup don’t come with it. Not sure if you still have to ask for it, but never experienced this in the other branch. No doubt why people are saying that this is the worst branch in Tbay.

Guy taking our order tried to correct us on what we wanted (hamburger plain, medium fry, large drink) and said that for 1 hamburger it would be a happy meal unless we wanted two. Lady at the second window handed me and my boyfriend our food and I check the burger (because it’s been made wrong here before) and it was a burger with everything on it. We asked her for a new burger because it was supposed to be plain and she told us we were wrong and had ordered a regular hamburger. Over all this experience was not pleasant, and as a former employee it does not make me happy to see how their standards for customer service have lowered.

Since pretty much everyone ahead of me had their orders messed up I should have checked mine before leaving. I just wanted to get out of the chaotic atmosphere. Thanks for at least getting the hash brown right. Update. Why did I try and go back. Got home and my coffee is some sort of watery liquid with four inches of milky foam on top. There is no coffee at all in this. It's like watered down milk with foamed milk on top. Who would drink an abomination like that let alone give it to someone else.

I’ve visited this place multiple times and unfortunately, the customer service has consistently been disappointing. I understand that rush periods can be stressful, but that does not justify rude behavior toward customers. Every time I visit, I am met with dismissive attitudes and unprofessional interactions. I sincerely hope management takes action to improve staff training and customer service.

Today i visited the mcdonald’s on arthur st at 12:00am and the lady working the 2nd window was extremely rude! Rolled her eyes at us and said and i quote “Oh my god” annoyed, because they gave us the wrong order and when we handed it back they kept insisting we had the sauces when we didn’t. Then after i said twice “maybe it’s in the bag that you took back” aka the wrong order, to which she ignored me saying even though it did end up being in there and she was annoyed and ignorant with us. 0/10 customer service.

My favourtie McDonalds in town. Feels the safest and service is always top notch. I understand it gets busy but one employee noticed I was waiting a while and took it upon himself to ask my number and get my order ready.

I recently attended this long standing stable in the heart of Westfort and man I was surprised by everyone and everything, the place looks like always did, I ordered 2 dog, 2 cheeseburgers, fries and gravy and a soda, the dogs lacked bite, the burgers tasted ancient and the fries looked like a rigged auntie,

It had been nearly 2 decades since I had visited Coney Island, in all that time the only thing that changed was the staff, and the shape of the coca cola cans. Literally exactly the same!!! The staff were incredibly friendly, the food was awesome, much faster than any fast food restaurant in town. I had just sat down at the bar after ordering, my pop was already in my spot, I barely had time to open the can of pop when my coney dog appeared on a plate in front of me, immediately followed by the fries and gravy from the back kitchen!!! I mean, it's as close to a Nascar pitstop as one could hope for!!! Well done!!! :)

Coney Island has been a long standing tradition in our family for three generations. We have gone often and have never been disappointed. You feel like you're stepping back in time to when small diners were the bulk of the restaurant industry. This place hasn't changed much over the years and that is what's so special about it!

I'm kinda disappointed, I'm originally from Thunder Bay and have been to the Coney Island I can't even count how many times, food was always great especially that sauce, totally my favorite. Every time I would go to TBay to visit I always made sure to stop in and grab a few containers to take back to Manitoba,bragging about this amazing sauce, long story short, I was recently visiting some family and I was definitely going to get some of that sauce to take back home to wpg for myself and a few friends. When I saw the price for a container I was in shock,not cheap! Needless to say I only got 2 containers for myself. Decided to have it for supper, hot dogs and fries with the sauce! Definitely not what it used to be, super runny,no flavor except for pepper, was actually disgusting, I ended up dumping it was so bad. Two places in TBay I love to always stop at and bring some goodies back to Manitoba with me, The Persian Man and the Coney Island. Sad to say, after paying that price for not quite sure what that sauce was supposed to be, I highly doubt on my next visit I'll be stopping at the Coney Island again! Very disappointed 😡😠

Coney Island is a classic iconic staple of Westfort. People rave about it. Myself I think it lacks a bit of sauce and would prefer a 5 star bun vs bennet but I understand the connection. Way too much onion on it. So ask for no onion if you aren't a fan. I am a fan of other establishments as far as Coney goes. I feel like the sauce is just not quite flavorful enough. But MANY people love this place. So go try it out for yourself. Very personal old school feel inside. Love the 50s vibe.

The service was amazing!!! Walked in and immediately welcomed with the amazing smells and a friendly face! It was our first time in Thunder Bay, and I will be making a point to stop at Donato’s every time I come to Thunder Bay! We got butter tarts, cannoli, a peanut butter bar, and cherry cream puffs. They are all amazing!!! The kindness of the staff made this such an amazing experience!! You need to visit here!!!

It's my lucky day. It's thanksgiving Monday and my usual go to place for pumpkin pie was closed today. I was craving pumpkin pie and driving to Shoppers McInyre to get one of those mediocre pumpkin pies, when I happened to see this place open. I went inside and got a piece of cake and it was sooooooo good I ended up buying 5 more pieces and 2 large pizzas. I had the pizza here a long time ago and it is very good. So happy this place was open. Too bad the pumpkin pie was sold out, I will for sure be coming back to try that. The cake is just unbelievably good.

My neighbour ordered a loaded pizza and gave me 2 large slices. I took the time to make this review because it’s probably the best pizza I’ve had in the city to date! Real mushrooms done to perfection, pizza sauce was fantastic and crust perfect! They didn’t miss a beat. Donato’s will now be by go to (and before this, I was not aware they even made pizza!

Did a turn and burn to thunder bay yesterday i was hungry and really wanted pizza ! I happen to drive by and remembered how much i liked it at donatos but haven't been there in years. Decided to stop in and grab a pizza. The service was instantly amazing ! The gentleman served me and helped me make a pizza , he was so friendly and his vibe was just winning ! His mama was doing till and she was the cutest and friendliest lady! I got my pizza and got asked to write a review (with a free dessert), and I was like heck yeah ill write one for you guys! Pizza was awesome , almost had the whole thing done by the time I got home .. 3 hrs away. Toppings were fresh, dough was awesome and that sauce 👌🏽 id love to taste their spaghetti lol All around awesome place ! Definitely check them out, they also have fresh bread/ buns , desserts and looked like ingredients to make pizza at home . Also my dessert was awesome, if it's called something else I apologize but positive it was a cinnamon roll! Dough was awesome, that sauce was great as well! Enjoyed a little of that on my ride home !

I had a great experience at Chuck Road House! It’s definitely more of a lively spot to catch a game, so if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic night, this might not be the place. It did feel a bit crowded and loud at times, but the food was amazing, and our server was fantastic. They also have some great drink deals at certain times. Overall, a fun place with great food and a good atmosphere for a casual night out or to watch the game!

Please note they do not take reservations! The largest table could seat 8. After being seated, we waited about 5 minutes for our server to tend to us. Placed our drinks order and got to us quick. Ordered our food and must say, they got out right! Took a survey from the table, and we averaged a 4.75 out of 5. Our waiter checked in frequently to ensure customer satisfaction. I'll recommend this location for sure. You get your money's worth at Chuck's Thunder Bay!

Great place to go after 9 pm and enjoy the half price appetizer menu. The variety is amazing and tastes delicious as well. The portions are decent size and the whole sports bar atmosphere makes it fun and easy to enjoy the late meal!

The chucks burger was absolutely amazing! Perfectly balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting chucks roadhouse thunder bay location.

Visiting from Winnipeg and heard about chucks and had to check it out. First I was amazed by the cheap beer prices, then saw the cheap rib prices. Ordered beers and ribs and it did not disappoint. This is def a spot to check out if you have the opportunity

This place was popping on a Monday night! We showed up around 5:30pm and the restaurant was already filling up, and had a constant stream of people coming in the doors. Have to say the atmosphere here was pretty great. Place was buzzing, and I can definitely imagine it being a great place to watch sports. Tried the $25 surf and turf, which included a lobster tail, a steak, corn and fries. Hard to beat a deal like that. The food was decent and the steak was cooked the way I liked it. Don't love hidden fees but 3% on that price isn't so bad for their "honest to goodness" fee. Just be aware of it I guess - I didn't see the sign on the table that talked about it until the bill came and I asked about it. What wasn't great was on a hot day, I think the restaurant kept burning out the fuses on one end of the restaurant. Instead of adapting they just kind of kept flipping it back on which made the power go out at least 8 or 9 times while we were there.

Sub was loaded with so much meat and full of flavours. This was first time trying gravy with my sub and it was delicious.

I had high expectations when I went in here to order my first Firehouse Sub. The young woman who took my order was friendly and repeated my order to me to make sure it was correct and it was. ▪︎We did not get our order as ordered, though. Other people came in, and I walked off to the pop machine area to wait. A couple came in with a teenage boy and a toddler with a soother. He was a real cutie. I was distracted by a male employee who was in the back of the kitchen. He walked over to some sort of container and used a ladle to serve something out of it. He scooped 3 to 4 times. He then came to the front and started making my 2 subs. ▪︎He had a small ponytail and a cap ▪︎He had a full-face beard that was not netted or covered in any way. It was dark, curly, full facial hair. **(Apparently, the Health Unit has decided full-face beards have to be longer than a fountain pen before it needs to be contained. That is just gross. I definitely would have put my opinion in that this is wrong.) He wore gloves. ■Nothing was keeping his facial hair from going in our subs. I was not impressed, but there was some commotion going on in the restaurant area that was kind of funny, but I wouldn't want to be the one that bought one of the bags of chips that the toddler was playing with. I saw 4 bags get walked on, thrown, and squished in the little guys hands. I mentioned to the Dad (I'm assuming) that he's destroying the chips in those bags. I said, " He's done it to 4 that I saw, and they were put back on the shelf." He said,"Oh, well." In a very flippant and rude manner. I chuckled and repeated, "Oh well." Then said,"Oh OK you're one of those." I laughed again and shook my head. ▪︎I feel sorry for anyone who ends up with one of those smashed bags of chips. Maybe the owners should put it up out of children's reach because apparently it's ok to let your child destroy stuff. I do have to say the Mom picked the child up and went to a table with him. At least one of them knows how to parent. I have 5 adult children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 greatgrand .... not 1 nephew, niece, cousin, or relative of mine would be allowed to destroy merchandise and put it back on the shelf no matter how young they are. Who puts their toddler down to run loose through a restaurant anyway? I would be worried he might get hurt or god forbid snatched or something .... One has to supervise ones children - that means to actually be able to see them and watch them. I live approximately 4 blocks from the strip mall that the sub shop is in. As soon as I got them, I drove straight home. Didn't get 1 red light. I explained what had gone on in the restaurant to the other person who ordered a sub. We both agree, we will never go there again. It was supposed to be warmed - one was barely warm, and the other seemed to be a little warmer. As I was trying to eat, there was so much liquid dripping from it that I found it hard to eat. There was a good amount of meat, but I asked for NO onions, but I got onions. Partway through my first half, I had to stop eating because the bun was so soggy. It was like I dipped my sub in water ??? (we got large subs), I went to pick up the second half of my sub, and it was just as gross. The bun was completely soggy like it was sitting in water. The 2nd sub was missing the chopped pickle that was asked for. The meat on it was on the cold side. The second half was soggy as well and inedible. I have pics to back up everything in this review, but I won't post the pics of the family. I will not recommend this to anyone even though it was recommended to me.

Firehouse Subs is one of the best sandwich places I’ve been to. The subs are always fresh, loaded with flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. The staff is friendly and provides quick service with a smile. I love the variety on the menu and the portions are very generous for the price. The clean and welcoming atmosphere makes it even better. Definitely my go-to spot for a delicious sub

I wish there were more stars!! I have been wanting to try the Thanksgiving sub and we looked online at the menu before going to the store. The store is in our neighbourhood, has easy to read menus and friendly staff. Firehouse subs is the premium version of the sub world!

To say that Robin's Donuts at Hogarth Riverview Manor is understaffed is like saying the Titanic had a bit of a leak. There is one—yes, one—lonely soul manning the station during peak lunch hours, heroically juggling orders, prep, and the general chaos of caffeine-starved customers while management presumably sips their lattes in another dimension. This poor overworked employee is expected to keep the place running solo, which is not only a gross misjudgment of logistics but also a disservice to human decency. Meanwhile, the soup—if you can still call it that after it has congealed into a salty primordial ooze—is an insult to both hydration and hope. It sits simmering for an unholy amount of time, waiting to be ladled into your cup of regret. Occasionally, it even comes with a floating piece of plastic, like a tiny shipwreck from your dignity. Frozen egg patties—likely born in a lab and flash-frozen in a dimension where flavor goes to die—make breakfast feel like a punishment. They’re frequently out of basic items, leaving you with the excitement of a mystery menu but without any of the fun or edible results. And now, the coffee. If you've ever wondered what it would taste like to drink hot hurt, this is your chance. It's a bitter mystery liquid that’s likely been smoldering on a hotplate since the beginning of time. It doesn’t wake you up—it just reminds you that you're alive in the worst way possible. It's coffee in the same way that a car crash is a "commute." And let’s talk about the pièce de résistance: waiting 15 minutes in line for your gelatinous sodium stew during a 30-minute break. It’s like competing on a terrible game show where the only prize is disappointment and indigestion. To summarize: this is not a café. This is a survival simulation. Management should be ashamed, the staff should be doubled and paid, and the soup should be put out of its misery. The coffee, however, should be buried at sea and exorcised.

A staff member told me to leave for not buying anything when I was there waiting to meet up with a friend. Seriously the management needs to check in on how the working staff treat some customers. This is the last time I am coming here. Very disappointed. Plus the amount of flies in this place is disgusting!

The staff here are always wonderful! They treat my mother comma with such kindness. As she is a resident of sister liela agreco residence for seniors. However they need black olives on the menu! Lol

Not sure how this place only has 4 stars. We're traveling through, saw this Wednesday burger deal. Popped in. Place is packed. And for good reason. This was hands down the best burger fries and gravy ever! Meat is seasoned. Crispy onions. Bacon. Fresh ( and I mean house made fresh!) buns . Gravy obviously made from scratch. We licked the gravy bowl clean!! You want a great burger, this is it!! And $15 with fries. Service was excellent, even when super busy. We're coming back on our return trip .

Food is decent, but the staff really need to be better trained. Went Wednesday night for the ribs special, never been before. Had a couple of basic questions (is there a choice of sauce, side, do you have wetnaps) and the server had to double check every single answer. Didn't have wetnaps they said....but they did. Very silly mistakes. They also forgot what my side was. The Parm potato wedges were excellent, ribs were meh, and not particularly hot, possibly because it took almost a half hour to get them. Also, ribs are advertised on their site as $16 for a rack on Wednesdays, they charged $19. I know prices change but update your materials. Tried again Thursday, grabbed wings and specified no dipping sauce because I don't like them and I didn't want it dripping onto the plate/wings. Order comes out, the kitchen forgot/didn't pay attention, put the dip on, and of course it dropped onto the plate and wings.

Came to Thunder Bay for a business trip and found ourselves at The Prospector Brewhouse. I understand that this side of the business has only been open to the public for about a week or so - and I have to say - service was FANTASTIC. Brady and Paul did an excellent job taking care of us (and the other patrons that were there when we were). The food that we had there was absolutely wonderful and the beers were great. With neither of us being huge craft beer guys, Brady took the time to explain some of the subtleties of the different beers available and made some spot on recommendations for beers to try (we both really enjoyed the “PAL” and the Blueberry Wheat gets an honour is le mention too!) Overall - a definite recommendation if you’re in the area - great staff and I’m sure it will continue to get better - will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

On my first visit I wasn't overly impressed with the beer. It is a little 'flatter' than I like, and a couple of the kegs weren't working or were not available. I believe in second chances so I strolled back in and sat at the bar. The service is friendly and helpful. (Tagen/Taghen is delightful) Beer was tasty. At first glance the nachos were over cooked, but digging into them the were delicious. I will return

Service was sub-par. Didn’t bring us menus for quite some time, we asked for napkins twice and they didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. There was no music playing and we were one of two tables there so we could hear the other table and the servers. Menu could really use some more vegetarian options.

Was greeted quickly and was able to choose where wanted to sit while the server grabbed me the menu. Server was great answering my questions and letting me sampling two of the beer that I was on the fence about. (Had both at the end lol) I order my meal and the server brought me some fresh buns to start with and they were warm and fantastic. I could have ate 10 of them. My meal came and it was perfect exactly what I need and cooked perfectly. What I did like was when the server who dropped off my food asked if I need another drink and I said sure she went right up to my server and I had it in a minute. Really felt they work as a team to help each other out. Found out they had only opened up this brew side not to long ago and fixed it up, well they did a great job and I for sure will be back the next time. Great Job and keep those bun’s coming.

Well first and foremost this was my first time in Thunder Bay. There are a few things to note. This is a small sports bar attached to a little strip mall. So I wasn’t expecting much and I do have to say that the decor was well put together. I’m not from Ontario and had to ask about the truck piece that was above the bar. They have a layout that works while you wait for your meal. The bathroom was average. Floor was dirty with garbage scraps but overall acceptable. The music. I gotta say some changes could be made if that’s volume down or a better station I think would have rather heard live karaoke then whatever cover was playing when I was there. This is not on the restaurant just killed the vibe. Service was good in the sense that the was polite, and professional. I do enjoy when they strike up a conversation… this never happened, to be fair there were two drunk people at the bar who were taking up the servers time. For food, we ordered four flatbreads, the buffalo chicken was well done, flavour palette was nice. The classic pepperoni. Again well done definitely could be cheaper if I’m being honest. I know the ingredients are not as expensive as the Italian meats and cheese. Now I do have to say the caprese was very bland. Needed some salt or some type of flavour. It looked good but did not meet expectations. Prosciutto and arugula - not too bad the Alfredo was bland but when you did get all the toppings in one bite For drinks I got a ceaser. Only place I’ve seen with budgets so low that they’ll settle for a cucumber slice as your veggie. At least add a pickle bean or pickle. Overall the rim spice was nice and the drink itself was well made and consistent as I had a second. To summarize, I think this is a decent getaway for what you get. You will leave full. I think it’s a little overpriced but that’s Ontario for you. Other than that I would’ve liked to try and other meals and more drink options. If I was back in thunder bay I would eat here again. I just saw on skip the dishes and thought I'd try it out i had the burger with bourbon glazed onions and it was a good a burger however I would've liked the bacon a lil more crispy over all good job guys keep it up!

The service was not great. Food took forever to arrive. There was about 10 of us, everyone got there food at different times. Food was not very appetizing. When we asked why it took so long, they said they were busy on other side of restaurant. So in my opinion we were not as important as the restaurant side!!!😳😖

Had dinner at The Keg in Thunder Bay. My old fashioned was missing the cherry, not very good quality burboun and I felt it was very diluted but didnt want to spoil the vibe of the night at the very beginning. For starters, we ordered the mushrooms and calamari. The mushrooms—about five per plate—were rich, sharp, and indulgent with a creamy, cheesy topping. Calamari was crunchy and well-portioned, though the tentacle pieces were overly battered and clumped. For the main, I went with The Keg’s signature New York steak, which includes a complimentary salad and side. I added jumbo shrimp and blue cheese crumbles. The shrimps were excellent—large size and perfectly cooked. Steak came medium as requested. However, I asked to swap the salad for a soup (same price), but the manager declined, which felt unnecessarily rigid for a premium restaurant. At this price point, and with the a premium dish, a bit of flexibility should be a given. The steak and lobster dish was fine. Service was ok, however my coke was never refilled or asked if I want to refill. Also we felt rushed throughout the courses and it bcsme apparent near the two-hour mark—several prompts about dessert, splitting the bill, and whether we needed anything else came within a few minutes. Not ideal when the bill’s nearing $400. Hence my 4 stars (and I being kind here, I 'd give 3.5 but I wouldnt!). The food was standard as you would expect from The Keg quality. I had much superior service in other The Keg branches. I may return—but hopefully next time with a more accommodating approach and less pressure to vacate the table.

I visited The Keg for an anniversary dinner. Our server Britto was super friendly and professional. She was the best server I’ve met in my whole life. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every single second at the restaurant.

The Keg Steakhouse is outstanding! The customer service is perfect—attentive, friendly, and always on point. Every dish is served flawlessly, especially the lobster tails. I love how they bring a candle with melted butter on top for the lobster tails—such a delightful touch. The desserts are also delicious, making for a perfect end to an amazing meal. Highly recommend for a top-notch dining experience!

We are visiting Tbay from another northwestern town. Coming to the Keg has been consistently a positive experience. From the friendly welcome to the professional servers and kitchen staff, it's consistently what we want. Sean , our server , knew what had to be done for pleasant dining visit. What a great experience! We've been to a number of Keg restaurants in our travels, and this one is definitely the cream of the crop. We were greeted and seated by a manager. Our server, Britto, was everything you could hope for and then some, and very knowledgeable on all the food and drink menu items, including seasonal specials. She clearly enjoys what she is doing, and it shows, making our dinner a fun and memorable event. Our food was perfectly prepared and served, prime rib and twice baked potato. We are leaving the area in a couple of days, or we'd be back. Thank you for making our evening special!

This place is a must-try if you’re visiting the city like I did. It offers a cool vibe, great music, and excellent service. I’d definitely return. Parking is on the street, so it’s easy to get to. If you’re not familiar with the city, I’d recommend driving.

Took my family here for lunch. Caesar Saturday is reason enough to go. They were excellent! We all shared the chicken quesadillas, chicken enchiladas and the Mediterranean falafel wrap. Everything was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful and despite being quite busy the kitchen had our food out quite quickly. We will definitely be back!

A decently good restaurant in the area. Really delicious food. We were a group of five and all the different dishes that we ordered were made to perfection. Wide variety of options to choose from as well and generous portion sizes. Overall the food was great. Service however could be better, once were seated it took a good 10-15 mins before our server appeared. Two of us ordered a pasta dish and he asked whether we will like garlic or cheese toast with it. That was a way to upsell but it totally seemed like an included side the way he asked. The menu is big and many of the mains came with sides. But in the end it was an upsell. Did not like being tricked. Other than that it was a good experience and delicious dinner.

Food was excellent and so was our service. Our waitress, Alaina, was extraordinary at her job! Filling glasses, clearing plates, and all with a bubbly smile. Her recommendations were on point, and her attention to detail was greatly appreciated ! And taking our son to make his own sundae- Alaina you rock. Thank you for making my birthday such Amazing night. 100 percent recommend.

We loved the food, shrimp & salmon, ribs , and grilled chicken with Salad. Service was slow but very professional . I liked the furniture and lighting however I would prefer it to be more modern style.

Booths on the right of entry have sunset views. Food was as amazing the first time I had it in 2019, and exactly as expected for the last 6 years. I travel to T-Bay at least twice a year and this is my staple for an amazing meal. If you haven’t had a meal here you are missing out. Paul, your presence tonight and throughout this week was a game changer. I can’t believe this is my first time being served by you, after all my visits to this location over the years. Amazing customer service, and your jokes were hilarious. Keep doing what you’re doing, you are a blessing to this establishment.

I ordered the cream of potatoe soup topped with bacon bits, green onion and cheddar with a sprinkle of pepper very tasty .Then a starter of dry rips coated with salt and pepper on a bed of French fries ranch dip. Enough for two Mitch was nice enough to offer the rest if meal for take back to the hotel. Very impressive from greeting at he door and all if the staff . Mitch was very kind made sure glass if water did not go empty and always checked on me. Lots of parking especially for groups Highly recommended especially during your stay at one of the hotels great experience plus many TVs in the bar to watch Sports. Ed

Cassy was absolutely fantastic. She was on top of our beverages and was a really fantastic bartender - full of witty banter and solid advice - as a good bartender should be! The chicken wings really are deadly here - had the TKO and the Thai Domi (both on Cassy’s recommendation) and they were both EXCELLENT. Ended up talking to the cook (Adam) and it’s clear he’s really committed to the craft and cares about the food he serves - which is always awesome. Definitely worth going to if you’re in the neighbourhood.

This has been the most disappointing experience I have ever encountered. The wings I had were so well done they may have well been dust. The waitress told all of us that the wings were half price. When they arrived with the bill the price was not half as we were told. It was only one dollar off. The manager would not even come out to try to resolve the issue we had, there were six people in our party. When we asked for a manager none came out. When someone finally came to our table, the who claimed to be the assistant manager, she began to tell us that we only returned 1 pound of wings. The quick easy meal turned out to be three hours, we are still waiting for resolution. If we were to return all the wings maybe we would have waited for 4 hours before getting our bills. I would definitely not come here again nor would I recommend anyone come to this place for a quick easy meal because there is no sense. This place is absolutely disgusting. We were told by the waitress that the wings were half off. But in reality they were 1 dollar off. Do not waste your time!!!!!

I just had a fantastic experience at Lake and Spruce, and it was all thanks to our server, Tykara. Honestly, she was exceptional. Tykara is the definition of a hard worker. I truly think she was the hardest working employee I saw in the entire place—she can absolutely handle her own and keep everything running smoothly. No matter how busy or how needy some tables got, she was great with everyone, always staying patient and on top of things. Management, please take note: This server deserves a raise, better sections, and/or better shifts! She's a top-tier employee and a real asset to your team. As for the rest of the experience: the food was good. It came out pretty quickly, was hot, and perfectly edible. The only hiccup was the drink service, which took a while, but the bar was totally slammed with people seated at it, so that's understandable.

Super delicious and food are fresh. We ordered the 2 burgers on the menu, both recommended, chicken wings are super tender, well marinated, and the sauce that the waiters recommended is fabulous. Except for the kids' pasta, not enough tomato sauce, it looks pale. I don't feel like trying it. Overall, it's worth it.

Went here for breakfast with my children, worst service ever. When we sat down our server came and asked for our drink order, after getting our drinks we ordered our food. That was the last time we saw our server. Never came back to ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks or anything. I ended up mentioning to someone clearing tables that we've been waiting for 40 minutes for our food. They went to the back and said our food should be right out. Server put our food on the table and left. Didn't say a word. You could tell that the food had been sitting under the warmers for a LONG TIME. It was inedible. Server never once came back to ask us how the food was. Never seen them again. I should have just walked out without paying, maybe then someone would of noticed. I paid, but I didn't make it a secret of my frustration. Yet NO ONE spoke to me. No one asked how everything was. I am usually a very polite, respectful person but this was beyond unacceptable service.

I had never even heard of this place before. I was scrolling through places for supper on skip the dishes and came across this restaurant and their burgers sounded good. I got their Angus BBC Burger (might want to re-think about having BBC in that name guys) and it was delicious ! Fries were also a home run. Very good portions and filling ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I love my A&W bacon egger, but this is the worst one ever. Egg was flatten and over cooked. Bun was dry and stale. The hashbrown was almost raw! The server served me for dine in when i said to go! At least the coffee is decent. I wondered was there was only 2 cars in the parking lot at breakfast time! Now i know!

This is a great place to get good fast food, quickly. I have been at this location twice, and I have ordered a few times at each visit. I found that large orders are filled very quickly; by the time that we chose our seats, our food was either ready, or not far from being ready. The attendants are always very pleasant, patient, and helpful. They look to go that extra-mile to help you when they can. They make sure that you are happy and even bring your food to you if they have time to do that. This restaurant has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to this particular restaurant, and I look forward to future opportunities to eat there. I will eagerly recommend this location to my family and friends. It is hard to think of a better compliment. My only criticism is that the stall in the men's washroom needs a new door that will stay closed without needing to be locked so that people can more easily move within this rather small washroom. In addition, touchless faucets would be an appreciated upgrade.

Staff was rude when I wouldn't accept a handful of quarters instead of loonies. I said there's a til open over there. Then he threw the loonies onto the counter omitting the rest of the change owed. In today's economy every penny counts. The fries were cold and burgers were not put together nicely needing me to do it for myself and my guest. The one positive thing I noted was the restaurant was clean and organized.

A&W Memorial Ave Thunder Bay is the best restaurant in their chain. Super clean, great breakfast, absolutely incredible service from “Junaid” at the counter. Manager at this store is fantastic. I’ve been to mamy A&W but this one is the best one BY FAR! Staff have changed. I got pancakes floating in 4 oz of melted butter and staff argued with me that I just had to accept. Terrible customer service skills, aggressive, argumentative and not a good fit for the service industry. I will not return.

I was told by one staff member that I could combine two partially stamped cards to get a free coffee. When I went to redeem it, instead of receiving the free coffee, I just received another stamp. Not the biggest deal, but when I asked about it, I got brushed off like I was trying to scam them for a free yacht instead of a coffee. The dismissive attitude from the staff left a bad impression - Consistency and a bit of common courtesy go a long way.

I tried the Mango Passionfruit Shake at A&W and it was absolutely amazing, Super refreshing, perfectly sweet, and full of tropical flavor. It’s now my new favorite treat.

I used to love the burgers here as they were always fresh off the grill patties. Now they are soggy, sitting in warmers, and don’t taste the same. So I went in and asked personally for a fresh patty for my burger, which is a very reasonable ask! When I got to my vehicle and opened my bag of food , the burger was soggy and old coming from a warmer and not the grill. I will never come back, and will never bring my teams , or groups of kids anymore. All I asked for was a fresh burger, at least McDonald’s will give a fresh patty of asked, but not A&W Arthur st. West. Never again and I will be posting this on my Facebook unless the store would like to make a fresh burger for me and I will gladly pay for it.

I had a very disappointing experience today. First, it took a while for someone to take my order. After paying at the window, I waited around 13 to 14 minutes for just two sandwiches — a Spicy Chicken Buddy and a Masala Veggie. When I asked how long it would take, the girl at the front said "2 to 3 more minutes." I paid $11.29 and ended up leaving without my food because the staff seemed more focused on cleaning, closing tills, and organizing trays rather than serving me. There were no SkipTheDishes or Uber Eats orders, the front door was closed, and I was the only customer in the drive-thru. Even if there were no patties ready, it shouldn’t take more than 7 to 8 minutes to prepare them. I understand delays if it’s busy, but that wasn’t the case here. A&W is a fast food restaurant, not fine dining — service should be faster. No customer should have to wait that long while watching staff ignore them to focus on closing tasks. You really need to work on customer service and speed during closing hours.

They put bad cheese and a lot of sauce and this my first i eat bad burger from A&W I want give zero star to this location

Food was great and so was the service. Quick and friendly. Food was made fresh not off a heat rack. Atmosphere was a typical fast food burger joint, but clean and well maintained. We particularly love that A&W is making efforts to source and provide sustainable products. They avoid plastic packaging and serve Canadian produced food. Unsustainable products and services are just that: unsustainable. Thanks for making this effort and making it part of your brand, A&W.

Would recommend this team to train other locations so that the Arby’s experience customers encounter could be duplicated to this location’s high level of product quality, cleanliness and exceptional customer service.

Terrible Service We walked 20 minutes in the snow to get to this McDonald’s, only to be told we couldn’t order because we weren’t in a car. The dining area was closed, which we understood, but the manager rudely refused to serve us at the drive-thru, leaving us freezing outside with no food. This is blatant discrimination against people who don’t have vehicles. Absolutely unacceptable. Picture is of the manager who refused to let us order. This guy cannot run the store. We will be calling management tomorrow. He was disrespectful , said racial slurs and had no business skills or customer service.

Crazy busy, with a crowded PlayPlace! Only 2 tables in the kids' area made for a lot of parents just standing around trying to be out of the way. Interesting menu options compared to the US, but food was good!

Not 24 hours, third time I’ve come here before work at 5 am and this location is closed. Seriously, how can to advertise 24 hours and be closed 3 days this week. I went to other locations and they also advertised 24/h drive. All closed. What is your actual hours !!! Stop this nonsense.

Worst customer service ever. Incident report- Tuesday, January 28, 2025. I am a skipthedish driver and I received a batch order from this restaurant. 3 big bags of food which cannot fit in the skip bag. The lady refused to give the order at first and kept asking me to fit all three bags in the bag. It was impossible so i asked her if she can fit it for me. She got upset and passed racist comment. I said nothing and was numb hearing her foul language. Eventually gave me the bags and i left with 2 food bags in the thermal bag and one in hand. Later received a an email from skipthedishes that she reported me for being unprofessional. I filed the report and asked skipthedishes to block this restaurant from my network. Shared this incident with the driver network of the city and as far as i know, 8 other drivers asked skipthedishes to block this restaurant from their network as well. Worst experience ever.

It says it's 24 hours and it's closed at 3:30 a.m. They should post the schedule clearly to prevent customers from turning around and it being closed.

The worst location in the city. It's a rarity that they get your order right. The drive thru is atrociously slow and you almost always have to pull over to the side and wait for your food. Also 24hr drive thru is a lie. Typically closed between 2am and 5am

Always a great experience. Skyler tall male manager is so friendly with guests. Belen is always diligently cleaning the lobby. She is also so friendly and helps to open doors for those who need assistance. The general manager is always so friendly and helpful. She handles everything so well and ease.

Horrible horrible location. Worst in the entire city. Every single time, COLD fries. This location is a repeat offender. Children deserve fresh hot fries! Cold fries are a CHOKING HAZARD for small children! Also useless security. Was harassed by a man at mcdonalds one time and the security guard did nothing. Very sketchy location. And when the worker handed me the bottle of milk, it was covered in filth and dust. I had to ask for a different one.

Worst McDonald’s ever. I used to think that the worst was in Durham, NC, but this one takes the cake, obliterating any possible competition for the world’s worst McDonald’s. Had to place my order 5 times on 3 kiosks before I could complete the order. A woman’s was yelling. Kids were running around. It was chaos. The restaurant was filthy. The drive through had a trash can blocking access… apparently some antique car had broken down in the drive through. Food was expensive and pathetic, even when compared against bad McDonald’s. Employees played music on their phones loudly against the miserable piped in music. Horrible experience. The door on the toilet in the men’s room didn’t even work. I guess all of these explain why TripAdvisor doesn’t even acknowledge the existence of this location.

I recently called your store hoping to speak with the owner or at least get their contact information, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The staff who answered the phone were quite unprofessional and seemed uninterested in helping. I wasn't even given a chance to explain my concern before the call was abruptly ended. I genuinely hope that the management takes this feedback seriously. It's important that staff are trained not only to handle customer queries politely but also to maintain a respectful tone during interactions. McDonald's is known for its customer service, and I believe that the team at this location could benefit from a reminder about those standards. We pre-ordered our food online and went inside the store to pick it up. Before even leaving the parking lot, we noticed the wrap and sauce we paid for were missing — the wrap alone cost over $5. We went back inside right away to politely let the staff know, and the manager on duty immediately dismissed us and said “the wrap was definitely there.” She refused to replace it, even after we offered to show her the bag with everything we did receive. We weren’t rude at all until we were forced to argue just to get what we paid for. We weren’t asking for anything free — just the item they forgot to give us. The manager had a terrible attitude and zero interest in helping or taking responsibility. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. If this is how they treat customers standing right there in the parking lot, I can’t imagine how many other people leave without their full order. Won’t be back.

The power was out in our hotel so we all piled in the car to have a mcdonalds breakfast. Katie was so kind to us in a time when customer service isn't always valued. She took orders quickly, served people at their tables and helped pass out food to us all with a smile. The restaurant was clean and the people behind the counter, the people cleaning and serving were so kind. Thanks for a great mcdonalds experience.

Absolutely terrible service and staff is terrible as hell too from my previous experience. I had ordered a Mcchicken (only meat food i could eat) and diet coke. They sent me a beef burger with sprites. Called the store twice but no one picked up. Would suggest people to go somewhere else.

These burgers are not gourmet by any means but tasty nonetheless. If you are looking for a classic, dirty burger, this is it. The burgers come with a lot of 'included' toppings that are not mandatory, but there's enough that you should be aware of them. The fries have a homemade feel to them but they are awfully greasy.

I take my family here often, the food is good and the people are amazing and friendly. Its a must stop for out of owners who will appreciate good food at reasonable prices compared to other similar restaurants in the area. They local sourse all their ingredients as much as possible making it nutritious and tasty.

Got there right before closing so atmosphere was not very inviting. Both me and a friend were starving so order some really good burgers 🍔 Burgers and fries were both excellent! Good deal

Burgers were great and fries where average. Will definitely go there again. The biggest fault with the place it's like most fast food restaurants in atmosphere. The staff however were way above average.

Im grading the burger and i would say for the price it is amazing ! Drive thru service is a bit wait but worth it! Im not so amaze with the fries we had but so far the burger is what actually made my day !

Best hot dogs in town (even though they are $6.50 each, unlimited toppings). Friendly service and good atmosphere. Could only be better if they had a larger location with dedicated seating, but you can sit in the adjacent sushi restaurant (same owner I think).

I came here yesterday (08/04/25) around 5:15 pm. I ordered a few buddy burgers and didn’t notice mold on the bun until the very last bite. I was holding it with the wrapper so I didn’t get a good look at the whole thing. I’m not sure how much mold I consumed yesterday and I don’t really wanna find out. 0/10 will not be coming back

We ordered the new churros that were advertised as $2.99. Realized the bill said $3.29. Told the lady that served us that it was advertised for less and even showed her. She was rude and didn't immediately offer a refund when I told her I'd like the advertised price. The rudeness bothered me to press her on the fact that I was serious and either wanted the difference back or a refund. She replied with "Fine, I'll give you .30 cents" sarcastically like it was pathetic for me to ask. (I obviously didn't care about having an inconvenient .30 cents in my pocket, but I certainly don't like rude servers or being scammed with false advertising. Usually it's free when you catch them scamming you, but instead I was just an inconvenience to their terrible business practices. Customer satisfaction has definitely went down everywhere recently...

We ordered by drive through for veggie burgers(the time was around 5.30pm) and we came on drive through window. There was one girl. She behaved with us very bad. She showed very much attitude. I never see this kind of behaviour. It happened with us three four time. She always serve like this. I am very disappointed and even i didn’t take my order. She literally spoiled my day.

This was such a poor experience. I’ve been here twice now in a week. First time the latte machine wasn’t working. The restaurant was freezing when it was only 15 degrees outside and the lettuce wrap was as two single small pieces of lettuce. Today the latte machine still not working and my order was given to another customer. Poor service, will not be back. Also it’s more common than not that the latte machine doesn’t work. This seems like a systemic issue that needs to be dealt with.

I visited this restaurant yesterday around 6:30 PM to pick up my order, and what I witnessed was absolutely unacceptable. One of the staff members was preparing burgers without wearing gloves — worse yet, I clearly saw him scratching his body while making food. It was revolting and completely unhygienic. I immediately raised this concern with another staff member at the counter, hoping they would take it seriously. Instead, I was met with indifference. She casually responded, "We don’t have any policy about wearing gloves." Honestly, if there’s no hygiene policy in place, the staff should at least have some basic civic sense. This place is a hygienic nightmare, and the lack of accountability from the staff just made it worse. I will never go back, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before eating here.

I had a very disappointing experience at your location on yesterday, Tuesday for lunch. The service was far below expectations, and what made it worse was the attitude of the front lady supervisor on shift. She was rude making the entire visit uncomfortable. As a customer, I believe everyone deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue, as this kind of experience reflects poorly on the A&W brand. Overall the atmosphere and new interior is good. Thanks

We had a very disappointing experience at A&W with a supervisor named Lovepreet. The way Lovepreet spoke to customers was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of being polite or helpful, their rude attitude was dismissive and disrespectful, which made the visit very unpleasant. Good customer service is important in any restaurant, but unfortunately, this was not the case here. I truly hope the management addresses this behavior and train this supervisor to deal with customers nicely , because no customer deserves to be treated this way.Thank you!!

Just a corner location with no seating inside. I got the Coney Dog and an old Fashion Pautine. For those (like myself) who don’t know what that is, it’s fries with cheese curds smothering in brown gravy. The chili on the Coney Dog lacked flavor. Very bland. The Pautine was interesting. It was somewhat flavorless but I don’t think that’s the restaurant’s fault. It’s just the way it tastes. The clerk tried to get me to get one of the many other options that added more to it, but I was set on trying the original. Next time I’ll try the others. Lost one star for the chili. Not bad!

Had the chicken finger meal delivered. The chicken was good. The fries weren't bad but we're all the little tiny pieces left over when the good fries are taken. It was like that on all our orders. If that is the way they are supposed to be then won't be ordering fries again.

If you have given up on your health plan for the day and want to get a tad bit crazy. You should hit up Hodder Greeks, or as many Thunder Bay residents have come to call it Greasy Greeks, on account of the brown paper bag for the fries turning translucent from all the greasy goodness. This is a great spot for coney dogs, burgers, fries, poutine, Polish sausage or Italian sausage. This is not a gluten-free/vegan/vegetarian friendly place as I’m sure you have figured out by now. This is the spot for eating absolute pure garbage food, and I mean that in the most respectful way possible. The food served there is undoubtedly delicious. It’s just not considered a balanced and nutritious meal is all I’m getting at. However, everyone needs a treat from time to time, am I right? Help support this local business just as they do their part to help support Thunder Bay businesses. They have really cleaned the place up from the last time I saw it. The Poutinerie was a nice addition as well. There is also a few picnic tables outside, as this is not a sit down and dine establishment. I went with the classic poutine with cheese curds, not shredded cheese. Along with that masterpiece was the sloppiest of Coney burgers. They are as good as they are sloppy. Keep up the great work!

Staff is great and fries are still amazing. Coming here brings me back to my childhood every time and of bringing my son here every 2nd Friday when he was young. So many great memories.

$12 large fries cooked in black fryer oil, smelled and tasted like a hotel kitchen floor clinical amount of clove in the coney sauce making it taste like your grandma put clove oil on a toothache hamburger patty tasted like they balled up leftover meatloaf, squished it into a patty shape and microwaved it first and last time ever.

EDIT: Has gone downhill significantly, staff are friendly but some are completely clueless on making food. Pretty hard to mess up a poutine but it keeps happening. Sad to see, used to be excited to go here. Probably one of the best poutine spots in Thunder Bay. No frills, grab and go kind of place. Satisfying amount of cheese, good gravy. Nothing to write home about but perfect for what it is.

Great value. Quick service. Clean and polite. First time here got the 5 piece chicken fingers with Buffalo sauce. Great fries. Highly recommend if your hunger and near them
