La Pâtisserie Chouquette is a stylish French bakery known for its exquisite pastries, including macarons, cakes, and other delectable treats. For over a decade, owner Simone Faure has upheld the highest standards of pastry craftsmanship in St. Louis. The dedication to excellence is evident in every creation from the impeccable handiwork to the outstanding macarons, galettes, sticky buns, tarts, cookies and croissants.
I have to say, the customer service here is absolutely top-notch. This was my first visit to La Pâtisserie Chouquette, and I was completely blown away by the experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt transported to another place—like I had walked straight into a charming bakery in France. The interior is stunning, with an atmosphere that is both warm and elegant, and every detail is thoughtfully curated. The energy in the air was incredible. Even though the line was long, the excitement and camaraderie among the customers made it enjoyable. Everyone was so cordial and happy to be there, which told me I was in the right spot. Conversations flowed easily, and I could feel the shared enthusiasm for the amazing bakery items being crafted behind the counter. While waiting in line, I decided to try one of their potato loaves, and it became a fun moment of connection with those around me. The woman to my right ordered one as well, inspired by my choice, and the lady at the register to my left added it to her order at the last moment. It was such a unique and delightful experience that perfectly reflects the welcoming and communal vibe of this bakery. As for the food—it is simply incredible. Everything tastes so fresh, natural, and thoughtfully made. It’s the kind of food that not only satisfies but also feels good for your body and soul. La Pâtisserie Chouquette is truly a gem, and I can’t wait to come back for more.

LOVED wonderful bread and their atmosphere! Their staff was nice too. It was a nice experience to visit their bakery in the morning. Their chocolate croissant had beautiful layers. And I like that their bread was not crazy sweet. I want to go back to this nice bakery again.

I highly recommend ordering a cake from this bakery. I am not from St. Louis and do not live there, and I was planning a birthday celebration for my mother-in-law. La Pâtisserie Chouquette made the entire process easy! They responded to my inquiry almost immediately, and they put a lot of thought into the design of the cake by asking questions about my mother-in-law's hobbies and interests. The cake was ready for pickup on-time, and they even gave me written instructions on how to "take care" of the cake before serving it. The cake was beautiful, and my mother-in-law loved it! It had her favorite color and favorite flavor, and it tasted amazing! It was so artistic that somebody touched it because "he didn't believe it was a real cake". 🤣 Thanks so much for adding to the loveliness of this celebration!

We highly recommend using La Pâtisserie Chouquette for your wedding! The cake that Chef Simone created was both beautiful and delicious. The assortment of desserts including delicate macarons and beautifully crafted tarts were perfect for our guests to have so many sweet treats to choose from! Thank you!

Walked in and thought I was in Europe someplace plush! The sweet aroma hijacked all my senses. I love when desserts are beautiful and delicious. The richness of the ingredients can be tasted individually. The butter, the Bourbon, and the pecans. My goodness, what a treat! Definitely a place to satisfy any sweet tooth. Well worth the cavity!
Mary L — Google review
Went to this place after reading reviews on how great the desserts are but we were really disappointed. Do not get the Mango milk crepe cake. Didn't taste like mango. And it doesn't taste good either. Wasted 10 dollars on this. We obviously didn't finish it. The milk teas are average at best. The boba tasted pretty bad.

It's a lot of pretty looking foods with basic taste. I got a total of 4 items for almost 40 dollars and ended up throwing away my drink after 3 sips ...with my 3 pastry items I had a red velvet cake thing it was a 3 out of 10 I didn't even eat the other two they are currently still in my car I ended up going to QuikTrip for breakfast and spending $12

I just had my first experience at La Patisserie Chouquette and it was HEAVENLY. We purchased Chef Simone's Cornish pasties, treacle tarts & crepe cakes. We reheated the Cornish pasties in the air fryer & OMG, it was incredible. I have never tasted a better pie crust, buttery, tender & flaky... and that was reheated! The filling was equally delicious, perfectly seasoned & with perfect filling to crust ratio. The pasties are so good I'm posting this review before I've even tasted the tart or cake! Dessert review to follow!

SweetArt Bakeshop + Café is a vibrant and artsy spot that operates as both an art studio and a bakery, offering a variety of sweet treats and baked goods alongside light lunch options. The owner, Reine Keis, has recently introduced a line of plant-based baking mixes called Love + Magic. Despite transitioning from curbside pickup to takeout in late 2021 and opening its dining room in early this year, SweetArt remains a relatively new addition to the scene.
Incredibly friendly and the food was delicious! Loved the biscuit, the cinnamon roll was to live for. The plate with the incredible fried oyster mushrooms (WOW) the Mac (yum, incredibly well seasoned, almost like mac in gravy) - and the kale salad. Chicken sandwich was HEFTY. Delicous. Really enjoyed the blueberry lemon cookie. ❤️

all vegan and delicious! especially the maple buttah chicken biscuit and coffee cake. i love coffee cake with crumb topping and you could tell the biscuit was homemade!! they also have another location sometimes with different stock so make sure you check both out!

Food (7/10): 1. Cinnamon Roll (10/10) - Delicious, savory, buttery, creamy. The icing tasted like a cream cheese icing. Great homemade cinnamon roll. Perfectly priced for what you get. The value is definitely there. 2. Sausage Cheese Biscuit (8/10) (came on waffles, sold out of biscuits) - Very good taste. Hands down, the best vegan sausage I've ever had. The cheese sauce was good too, but the sausage itself took away the show. The waffle had a slight sweetness too it was well. Very tasty. Just wish it was a little bigger for the price. Yearning to come back to see if their burger is anything like that sausage. If so, I know it'll be amazing. 3. Mac and Cheese (5.3/10) - The mac and cheese was creamy and mildly flavorful. The portioning was small for the price of $10. If it were $7 or $8, the portion size would match. Also, and I don't know why the vegan restaurants around STL do this, but there was a slight "tang" to the cheese sauce. Plant Craft Kitchen does a similar thing with their Alfredo. IMO there should be no tang whatsoever in savory dishes like Mac and cheese. 4. Audre Lorde Chicken Sandwich w/ sauce on side (5.9/10) - Good size, but over priced. The bun was soft and had a good taste. Personally would've preferred a toasted bun, especially if the sauce would've been on the sandwich. The Chik'n patty itself was breaded and deep fried very very well, but unfortunately had almost no flavor to it at all. Felt like I was eating a Gardein Chik'n Patty, which honestly in its blandness has more flavor. After eating this sandwich you're left with a feeling of "wow, did I really pay all that for this". The potential is definitely there for this to be a good Chik'n patty, it just needs some more attention IMO. The majority of the flavor in these kinds of sandwiches should be in the patty with the sauce complimenting it, not the other way around. I did try the sauce with a fry and it does taste like a southwest chipotle sauce. Most people who like that type of sauce would probably love this sandwich a lot more. 5. Fries (7/10) (came with chicken sandwich) - basic oven cooked crinkle fries, that had a very good seasoning on them. Slight crisp, well made. Good portion size with the sandwich. Service (10/10): Very friendly, helpful, kind staff. Atmosphere (10/10): Very spacious open layout. Lots of natural lighting. The pastries are right there at the register counter displayed very well. Good selection of music ranging from Jhene Aiko, Lauren Hill, Mariah Carey, etc. Art in the form of a poetic quote and paintings. Very wholesome environment.

The staff, FOOD, and atmosphere grant SweetArt the status to be recognized as one the best not only “Vegan Restaurants” but one the “Best Restaurants” in St. Louis hands down! Everything on the menu is amazing and the SWEETS!!!!!! The best cakes, pastries, cookies, and cupcakes you will ever find! Even non-vegans love everything about this place!!!!! And last but not least, THAT HUMMINGBIRD CUPCAKE!!!!!! Salute!!!!!

Unfortunately, they were out of the couple of the breakfast items we wanted. Not disappointed with our cinnamon roll & maple chicken biscuit! That cinnamon roll changed my life. ❤️ The interior is large with plenty of seating. Large outdoor patio, as well. Kind & sweet customer service. Love!

My new go-to vegan spot in the Lou!!! If you’re looking for some good vegan soul food, a different taste, good quality desserts and pastries, then you’ll definitely want to try them out! I tried the Maya Angelou plate. It comes with your option of fried cauliflower, crispy plant based chicken tenders, or fried mushrooms, and two sides of your choice such as kale salad, cashew mackin cheese, and more options. And get this, the whole menu is VEGAN! I highly recommend the gluten free mackin cheese with whatever you choose. I also tried the Zora Neale Hurston crispy chicken sandwich. I cannot tell you how much this place did not disappoint! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying to the last bite!! The staff there is very nice and helpful. You would be doing yourself a great service stopping at this place! Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great quality and clean. What more could one ask for..

Im in love. Im obsessed! I nearly packed up the entire store to fly home with. The food is AHHHmazing, and fresh and VEGAN, and delicious! It was truly a life changing experience. I went back twice in 1 day. Got the Crispy Chik'n Hot Honee Sammy and the Garlic Cheeze Grits with Crabcakes. No notes. No wrong choices. No wrong answers. And the STAFF...dear God, the staff..everyone was kind and helpful 😭🥹. Chatted it up with the bartender while I waited for my order. Again, in love. Obsessed. Go! Buy all the things 🤸🏾‍♀️

Came here for breakfast on the way back from a trip and wasn't expecting such a great experience. The cafe was quiet and had a great atmosphere with all the mouthwatering treats on display. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the big momma cinnamon roll! A cool and unique find from what I'm used to and will definitely come back if I'm in the St. Louis area to grab a lunch and a cupcake!

Pint Size Bakery & Coffee is a local bakery that specializes in baking fresh and delicious biscuits, scones, muffins, and pies. They always have the latest flavors available and their motto is to bake these goodies every morning so that they can be used by the public. If you are looking for some amazing bakery treats, this is definitely the place to go!
Can’t say enough good things about this place. The service is incredibly friendly and accommodating, the bakery goodies are delicious, and if you’re lucky enough to order or eat a cake from here, you and everyone that tries it will be thinking about it for weeks. Months even!

We hired Pint Size to create our wedding cake and they did not disappoint! Not only was it perfect and well done, but it also was very tasty! Aside from the cake, this bakery makes some fantastic treats! Definitely worth stopping in. You won’t leave disappointed!
Josh Z — Google review
We ordered 120 oatmeal cookie sandwiches for our wedding, and it may have been the best decision we made the whole night. Everyone raved about them, and one friend even went home and followed their recipe to make them less than 1 week after the wedding. I'm thinking we'll make them for our anniversary each year. The cream filling is right between a whipped cream and an icing, not too sweet. The cookies were chewy. So good, I'm stopping by their shop every time I visit StL from now on.
Audrey S — Google review
Finally got a chance to stop at this bakery. The staff was warm and welcoming. The selection was pretty darn good at noon people. Been wanting to try their Brookies and Raspberry blondies. They had several of each, so took them all I did. Then, I noticed the oatmeal sandwich cookie along with the Peaches n Cream scones. Of course, I had to get one of each to try. I'll let you know how the selection of pastries taste once I try them out. Prices were reasonable as well. Definitely support your locally-owned businesses to keep them in our communities!

We were recommended Pint Size Bakery by our wedding photographer. She said they were the best wedding desserts she's ever had and that they were priced really well. I looked them up, realized we live super close by, and immediately went to see what they were like. Their baked goods and coffee were amazing so I was immediately sold, and thankfully they were available! We wanted a small cake for us to cut and then a variety of cupcakes for guests. Nancy was super helpful and flexible in figuring out how many cupcakes to order. AND everything was delicious. We got the Drunken Pumpkin cake flavor and a wide variety of cupcakes. There were only 4 cupcakes left at the end of the night. Highly recommend Pint Size Bakery for wedding desserts. And if you're not in the market for a wedding dessert, their regular bakery items and coffee are also to die for. 5 stars all around!

My friends ordered a custom cake from Pint Size for my bridal shower. Let me tell you, it was the best cake I have ever had. In my whole life. And I don't even love cake. 100/10 recommend!! It was also the cutest cake in the entire world. I can't wait to order a cake for any occasion just to taste the greatness again!!!!

Saturday morning munchies at Pint Size Bakery! There are so many amazing, delicious goodies that it becomes almost impossible to choose. Of course, that means we buy too much but it is so good and will not go to waste! Awesome service, the cutest decor and delicious baked goods. The perfect trifecta! If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and go! You will not be disappointed!

Bakery
Federhofer's Bakery is a beloved mom-and-pop shop in St. Louis, known for its diverse selection of baked goods including breads, pastries, cakes, pies, and desserts. The bakery has gained a strong reputation within the community for its high-quality offerings. Chef Reid's dedication to emphasizing the essence of each flavor is evident in their more than ten flavors of macaroons and French pastries like croissants.
Cherry turnover > cinnamon horn > petit four > macaroon > grasshopper cupcake > gooey butter danish > German chocolate cake Federhofer may be a German last name, but you don’t need to be German to fall in love with this place’s pastries. Their desserts that stemmed from European roots were definitely the most enjoyable options, but everything I had from Federhofer’s was at the very least solid ! And for you penny pinchers out there, I managed to get the entire spread that’s listed in my pictures for $12! For the price, this place is definitely a five star bakery. Despite impressive lineup that Federhofer’s flaunts, the cherry turnover stole the show. Crispy yet soft, rich yet light, this turnover may arguably be the best turnover I’ve ever had! I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re hungry now and are eyeing down one of these refrigerated options, I’d steer towards something else because eating these refrigerated options straight out of the fridge is definitely not the move. Everything I had out of there wasn’t as moist as you’d expect it to be, even after letting it sit for a bit. I think all of these refrigerated options need to be left out for an hour minimum to defrost first.

This bakery is an absolute gem! I recently discovered this delightful shop and was blown away by the incredible selection of baked goods. The display cases were a feast for the eyes with rows of tempting cookies, cakes, cupcakes, macaroons, and more. I was sold on the gooey butter cake, It was my first time trying one and let me tell you, it was pure bliss! The perfect balance of sweet and buttery, with a semi firm cake and a pleasant gooeyness that was simply irresistible. Their donuts were also fantastic - fresh, fluffy, and with a variety of delicious flavors. I have plans on returning in the near future. Customer service was awesome as well!
David O — Google review
The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The best cherry turnovers in St.Louis by far and their decorated cookies for every occasion are always a hit, especially on the holidays as I don't have to make any. Their petite birthday cakes come in handy for birthdays. Then, fresh baked breads are so delicious compared to what you buy in the stores. Just about any craving you have there is something that will quench it too. I love to support our locally-owned bakeries to ensure they stay in our communities for a long time to come.

Was in St. Louis, heard the gooey butter cake is a local thing. Googled it up and tried Federhofers. Guess I don't know how it actually compares, but it was delicious. Made a great picnic dessert on our road trip.

I recently turned 50.. i looked and looked for a bakery that could do a cake that i like ... i sent them the photo of what i wanted.. they informed me that they couldnt do actual cake i said ok. i gv them creative freedom to do the cake... and i loved it.. They did a awesome job . They kept me updated on the cake and if i wanted to add to the cake that was no problem. Will be a returning custoner😊

We got a cute Smash Cake and cupcakes for our daughter's 1st birthday party, everything was delicious! Bakery smelled like heaven! Staff was friendly, service was great, and price was reasonable! I had seen smash cakes for $30, $40, and ours here was just $18! Yeah, sure Walmart might offer a free smash cake but the quality wouldn't compare to here and I like a family owned community Bakery. I definitely recommend this Bakery and plan to return and try some other yummy treats!

Missouri Baking Co is a traditional bakery that has been serving Italian sweets and European desserts since 1924. Located in The Hill, a neighborhood settled by Italian immigrants, the bakery was opened by Stefano Stephen Gambaro and is now run by his grandson Chris Gambaro. While the gooey butter cake may have originated with a German baker, Missouri Baking Co has perfected their own version over the years.
I spent part of my childhood in St. Louis, and I still remember the delicious German coffee cakes my German grandmother bought for us every time we visited. To my dismay, there didn't seem to be a German bakery anywhere until my aunt told us to come here. She was so right! We left with a pecan coffee cake and a gooey butter cake plus a peanut cake and gooey butter danish to eat right then and there. The young people who served us were so delightful and helpful, and the young man packed our gooey butter cake in plastic and a box so we could keep it chilled until we get home. It is definitely worth going to "The Hill" to visit Missouri Baking Company!
Susan L — Google review
PROs: Great service; grab a ticket number for service. Plenty to choose from. Designated parking for the business or there is street parking. Tasty pastries. Nostalgic bakery atmosphere, a place that seems the customers are known by their first name. CONs: A couple of pastries wasn't what I was expecting. Parking is slanted in; backing out of the lot can be a challenge. Tiramisu is a cake rather than lady finger cookies. It is missing that distinctive coffee taste of soaked lady finger cookies. The jelly fill in the Josephine pastry was bland. I look forward to another visit for the other pastries.

German chocolate cake > Chocolate chip cannoli > cinnamon roll > cookies > chocolate drill bit Even though they’re called Missouri Baking Co., I did not expect them to have every single type of dessert sold in Missouri! Even for the pickiest of dessert eaters, they’ll definitely have something that you’ll like. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the cookies, but their other baked goods were very enjoyable.

I received recommendations from numerous individuals. It seems I had inadvertently selected the incorrect icing. Despite the time constraints, they were exceptionally accommodating. Their efforts were truly appreciated, the service was outstanding, and I would gladly recommend this establishment. It would be prudent to review the menu prior to ordering, which, admittedly, I did not do.

Brother made a trip to our favorite bakery today September 14 2025 Placed my order on custard puffs and he will get cheesecake most likely. Always a pleasure to stop at the bakery for fresh baked goods. Custard Puff was spectacular and the custard filled as usual the Puff nice crunchy and a touch of powdered sugar = Perfect Custard Puff! Big Shout Out to Mimi and her staff always warm, welcoming and a delight! Support your locally-owned Women's businesses to keep them in our communities please! If your looking for cakes, cookies, cheesecake, snowballs, Creme puffs, custard puffs, pineapple upside down cake, pies, Danish, muffins, stollens, fresh bread and so much more you need to visit this locally-owned bakery. They do special orders and holiday specials too. This is my favorite bakery on the Hill for sure. Best custard puffs ever filled so full to boot. Everything they make is so delicious 😋

A friend of ours took us here and it was wonderful. Really nice family owned bakery, been there since 1924 I think. Everything we ordered was delicious. There are not many small family owned bakeries around, enjoy them while they are here. They are extra friendly, be sure to take a number when you get there. Be prepared to wait in line depending on when you get there. They have little short cupcakes that are delightful. I cannot remember what they are called though. Cuccidati is like a fig Newton on steriods.

Russell's on Macklind is a cozy bistro owned by pastry chef Russell Ping, offering locally sourced American mains and small plates. The restaurant features an intimate atmosphere with exposed brick, low ceilings, mismatched wood furniture, and a vintage fireplace. In the evening, the space is illuminated by votive candles for a romantic dining experience. Additionally, the large tree-covered patio is perfect for enjoying coffee and pastries on weekends.
What a gem in St. Louis! Cozy, home-like atmosphere with food that reminds you of family meals, so welcoming! The staff is very attentive and the menu is precious: delicious meatloaf, perfect pasta dishes! We got all our choices right. And, the carrot cake was incredible! The portions are super generous! We loved it.

We recently dined at Russell’s on Macklind and was thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite cuisine and the impeccable service. The menu showcased a variety of innovative dishes, blending bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that our meal was a memorable one, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring our satisfaction. I can’t recommend Russel’s on Macklind enough for a fantastic dining experience.”

Love this place. On the pricey side but honestly worth it every time. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and FANTASTIC desserts, they truly never miss. Highly reccomend anything on the menu, from sweet to savory they all tend to hit the spot. I'm a big fan of the B.L.A.T.E., a BLT with egg and a house garlic aioli. Yum! Their desserts... oh my goodness. It's the whole reason I go to by honest. HIGHLY reccomend their chocolate cakes, the chocolate cinnamon bourbon crunch and chocolate espresso were the ones available when I went last ( they changed their desserts pretty often) and were phenomenal. Accessibility is fine, they have first floor, upstairs and outside seating. They do have a slight ramp at the entrance but its not the easiest in my opinion, because the door is then at an angle, which makes it awkward. The stairs going upstairs are also quite treacherous so be careful!

Carrot cake > cinnamon roll > chocolate chip gooey butter cake They say to never meet your heroes, and that’s kind of how I feel about Russell’s cinnamon rolls. After seeing numerous Instagram posts flaunting how fantastic these cinnamon rolls are, I finally got around to trying one. In some aspects, the cinnamon roll was great: it was the biggest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen, the middle was as sticky and gooey as a bag of marshmallows left out on a hot summer day, and the caramelized cinnamon sugar was a unique touch. But in other aspects, the cinnamon roll was pretty disappointing. The dough on the outside had a crunch to it that resembled being overcooked, and this ratio of crunchiness layer to gooeyness layer in the cinnamon roll was like 80/20, which is definitely not what I’m looking for in a cinnamon roll. Is the cinnamon roll tasty? Yeah. Would I recommend someone to get it? Probably not.

I have been wanting to come here since they opened and FINALLY got the chance. I got the sausage bagel and my wife got the sunrise sourdough and we split them. SO.Fricken.DELICIOUS!!! The atmosphere is amazing, we even got a little visitor to our table. My wife said the bloody mary was too strong but she doesn't drink much so maybe that's why. Highly recommend ...if you want a cinnamon roll, get here early or make a reservation and order one then! A must try!
Anne F — Google review
I have gotten cinnamon rolls from here and loved them! Unfortunately this time my cinnamon roll looked like it had been torn off with little care and still given to me even though a big chunk was gone. I didn't notice until I got home as it was to-go. Normally I wouldn't leave a review about something like this, but these are $15 cinnamon rolls and there's nowhere on their website to contact someone. If you're going to charge that much at least make sure you give the customer all of it. I know that if I was getting it in person sitting at their restaurant they wouldn't have served me this so feels like they thought they could just give it to a to-go person and be fine.
Kaitlyn B — Google review
I hit this joint while visiting. I wish I would have gotten food because it all looked good. I was there for their highly-recommended GBC and coffee though. Neither disappointed, but full disclosure, the GBC is not traditional. Well worth trying though!!
Markus H — Google review
I wouldn't try it without reservations. The food is priced for the quality you recieve, which is exceptional. Their menu changes from time to time to keep things fresh, which is awesome. I don't recommend this place for kids unless your just going in for Togo dessert which is very affordable and delicious. The cake can be a little dry though. I recommend the cheesecakes and cookies. TO NOTCH DINNING for around $100 for 2 (unless you both get the steak)

Pizza restaurant
Union Loafers Café and Bread Bakery is a contemporary establishment that offers a variety of traditionally baked breads, lunchtime sandwiches, and dinnertime pizzas. The lunch menu features simple yet exceptional options such as ham-and-cheddar sandwiches, chicken-and-rice soup, and a delightful PB&J. Notably, the Little Gem salad has gained widespread acclaim for its exquisite blend of lettuces, herbs, breadcrumbs, and buttermilk dressing.
Proof that bread can change a man. Y’all. Strap in and butter your biscuits, because I am about to tell you how a BBQ-devoted, brisket-biased, meat-sweatin’ through summer Texan — had a borderline religious experience at a dang bread bakery. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “This man probably thinks sourdough is a fancy term for ‘where’s the meat?’” And normally? You’d be RIGHT. But Union Loafers didn’t just serve bread. They served purpose. They served art. They served a carb-driven awakening that shook me to my smoked-meat-loving core. I rolled in for an early dinner, and let me tell you, this place was already bumpin’ like a honky-tonk at happy hour. But BAM — no wait. We were seated faster than my wife finds a new book to buy. Service? 10 outta 10 and sharper than a brisket knife at a church picnic. I kicked things off with an ice-cold Stag — a classic Pabst lager from Milwaukee that came in lookin’ like it just clocked out of a shift and wanted to watch a ball game. Crisp, clean, no nonsense. The kind of beer that doesn’t need to tell you what hops it used because it knows you’ve got fences to mend and meat to smoke. Starters? Oh, buddy. The Caesar salad — romaine so crisp it could shatter, dressed in something tangy, garlicky, and just spicy enough to raise an eyebrow. The caper-chili flake-breadcrumb-Grana Padano-black pepper combo? That’s not salad seasoning — that’s swagger. The meatballs and burnt toast? The meatballs were tender, juicy, and swimming in a house marinara that tasted like someone’s Nonna whispered sweet nothings into each tomato. And that toast? That glorious slab of charred sourdough, slicked with olive oil and blanketed in cheese, changed me. Then the headliner arrived: Pepperoni Pizza — half upgraded with mushrooms and jalapeños because I like to live dangerously. When it landed on the table, I knew I was about to commit emotional infidelity on my smoker. The crust? Charred, chewy, and clearly the result of sorcery. The Calabrian chilis brought the heat, the herbs made it feel fancy, and the pepperoni? Curled at the edges like it was flexin’. The mushrooms added earthy depth, and the jalapeños? Texas-approved fire. Every bite was a full-on flavor rodeo. By the second slice, I was leaning back thinking about real estate in St. Louis. This pizza looked like it was ready for its magazine cover shoot. I stared at it longer than I did my first truck. ⸻ TL;DR: Union Loafers took a lifelong BBQ lover and made him reconsider his food pyramid. I’m not saying I’m giving up BBQ — let’s not get crazy — but folks, this place is bread-blessed and flavor-anointed. 10/10. Would I go back? I’d cross state lines. I’d make a detour. I’d put this place on the GPS under “Emergency Pizza Situation”, and maybe even miss a football game for this.

After seeing all the good reviews and my daughter seeing the beet sandwich on tick tok, I had very high expectations for this restaurant. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The atmosphere right away felt like a cattle call. There was no warm greeting. There was no welcome to union loafers. There were none of the typical pleasantries you would expect in the service industry. We sat down to a cramped seating set up, which by design can work if you also are offering a warm personable environment. This was not the case here. The servers were that fake nice that has unfortunately become the norm and lacked true empathy. By that, I mean never once did they ask how everything was. Now I am from the old school rules of 2 bites 2 min, which I admit I do expect, but we weren't asked at all. The only thing coming close to it was after we paid the server, said those beet sandwiches are good, huh? Well, this is problematic as only 2 of the 4 people in our party ordered them. Overall, I hope this establishment can take this as a learning experience. Yes, you may be able to fill your restaurant and have them lined up around the corner while your fad is in, but you will not have the people love ,admire and fight for your business to be around for the ages like so many St. Louis establishments have. Perhaps you don't want that, and you are happy with the flavor of the moment. To have a loyal following, you need to bring back the genuine care that one has had the best dining experience possible. Upon leaving, they were so caught up in getting the next warm body seated that there was no goodbye. Thank you for coming, etc. These are requirements for a good review from me. On a positive note, the beet sandwich was very good, the other 2 we ordered we not.

Was super excited to try and in turn I’m incredibly disappointed . First, it took two hours to arrive. I ordered through their website and it did not give an estimate on delivery before checking out so that’s on me. For $17 I got a bacon turkey bianca sandwich without bacon. No bacon was on the sandwich which was awesome! However it only had one piece of turkey on the entire thing. I just assumed there was going to be more turkey on it at that price point. Then I got to the potato salad . For $4 you get 4 bites of potato salad! Maybe eating on-site is better, I don’t know. The bread was good but I really just feel super ripped off. The ham and cheddar was stacked with meat. The cookies were okay. I love what they do but man… hard to ever want to order again.

Simple restaurant that serves great food. The blueberry lemon soda is heavenly and our pizzas were amazing. We also had the ceaser salad and the dressing was rich and creamy. A fresh squeeze of lemon would have been nice. The almond olive cake was decent. The waiter was very kind! Overall we will return for pizza and a fresh soda!
Annie J — Google review
Overrated. The pizza was quite expensive and not worth what you pay unfortunately. The service was okay, we ordered to go and it took like 30 minutes to get our pizza considering there was no one in the restaurant. We sat down and waited and once our pizza was done we figured we might as well eat it there since we made ourselves comfortable and they served us water. The woman immediately told us no they don’t allow pizza boxes in the restaurant. Threw us off a little because as mentioned there was no one really there and we had waited awhile.

I've been to Union loafers about five times so far. Every single time I enjoyed the food. The fresh baked pretzels are some of the best I've ever had. I'll pop by just to grab one. I forget the soup I had the first time but I'm not normally a soup guy and I really loved it. I've had two different roast beef sandwiches on other occasions, and each time I have been thoroughly impressed. This is not just a good sandwich this is an impressive sandwich. You just can't beat the combination of amazing bread and homemade ingredients when they build these sandwiches. Should you go? I don't know but I'll be back there next Tuesday, on the Tuesday after that and the Tuesday after that.

I was born and raised in STL and I'm 22 now, and I can say Union Loafers is the best restaurant in town. Everyone saying anything bad about it is further proof STL doesn't know what it has and always tries to ruin everything great. I always have loved it, but I started going here once a week in college and I still do. Every time I'm out of town for a while and come home, I have to go here. Literally everything on the menu is perfect, and the service is top notch. All the reviews dogging the service are from entitled people. No, the negative reviews are insane because this is literally the best of our best. And it's always packed for a reason. Literally shut up

My boyfriend and I stopped in tonight (Saturday) after receiving the recommendation from a family member. The manager greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, we did not. This establishment has a small dining room and we didn't mind sitting at the bar. Staff was friendly and everything was very sparkling clean. The food was very fresh and their sodas are made to order. I was concerned the soda would taste like a heavy cream soda, we tried the orange and it was not heavy at all! - very refreshing. I highly recommend this establishment for your casual dining or your special date night of salad, pizza, and drinks! The lighting, music, whole vibe was excellent and didn't break the bank! They also do not mind splitting things. They offered to split the salad and our soda so we could both sample it. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We used Sugaree Bakery for our wedding cake and it was great! My husband wasn't a huge fan of it because the layers of frosting/filling were the same thickness as the layers of cake. However, the flavors were wonderful and the decorating was gorgeous. I'm a frosting person, so I loved it!

I loved the atmosphere here. The staff were really nice and friendly. Very attentive and patient. The decorations for the holiday were awesome. I wish I got pictures of the figurine village. Found this wonderful bakery when my daughter and I were looking for a dog friendly restaurant for lunch, and we found Dogtown. Walking to our car, we saw Sugaree’s. We had cookies and the most delicious blackberry key lime pie. Such a nice and friendly place with a large variety. Definitely will be back!

I live near this bakery and frequent it because I love the chocolate chunk shortbread cookies. That said, I cannot stand it when a place says it's open until 5PM but locks the doors at 4:55PM. I could see the cashier in there pretending to be invisible. So no Saturday morning cookie with my coffee now. It's not the end of the world, but I find it very rude and disheartening.

Knead Bakehouse + Provisions is a charming bakeshop that emerged from co-owner AJ Brown's passion for bread-making, honed at the renowned Institute Paul Bocuse in France. Upon returning home, he and his wife Kirsten began sharing their artisanal sourdough creations at local farmers' markets before establishing this delightful spot. Known for its exceptional sourdough offerings, Knead Bakehouse specializes in everything from pastries to savory kolaches and even homemade Pop-Tarts.
The quality of the food is astounding. Everything tastes SO fresh! I was very skeptical of the $15 avocado toast. However, after taking the first bite, I knew it was money well spent. Truly an amazing 1st bite. The bread, aioli, avocado and egg all combined into something that was greater than the sum of their parts. I'm super excited to try the other items on their menu like their lunch sandwiches. Definitely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My favorite places? Cafes or bakeries with really damn good bread, and food, and people. Was searching for a spot to grab breakfast and get on my laptop on the way to STL for a flight home. I couldn’t have been happier to have found Knead. Decent sized space with a lot of tables. The food was truly spectacular. So good in fact, that I ate my breakfast sandwich (pictured), worked for an hour while enjoying my coffee, and then proceeded to buy lunch (chicken salad sandwich and a cookie not pictured) for my flight, plus a bag of brioche buns to take home. It’s not near anywhere I’ll be the next time I’m in town for work, but I cannot wait to go back regardless. It’s worth it. Kudos to Knead for their sourdough and people (folks working were so kind!)

Great stuff from Knead. Hard to decide what to get but the avocado toast and sausage breakfast sandwich were spot on. Great flavors, and their in house bread and rolls were incredible! The chocolate chip cookies were the stuff of childhood good dreams, and the cinnamon roll was a 10/10!

We are visiting from Chicago and absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere and delicious food at Knead. We got to sit on the patio in the shade, loved the tasteful presentation of the food and the food itself. That sourdough cinnamon roll is the highlight of my dietary experience here. Next time I’m in STL I will have to stop by again. Kathryn is a friendly and delightful server!

Rainy day and runny egg - what is not to love❤️ You know from their name that the bread won’t disappoint, and they are indeed very impressive - the sesame brioche bun is clean and light, and it’s most likely so because they used a sourdough recipe. The sour undertones definitely help neutralize the heavier taste of aioli sauce and egg yolk. Reccccc

Absolutely love this place! I’m from Iowa and come to stl often and every single time I come I HAVE to come to knead. The food is seriously next level. Everything is absolutely perfectly balanced. Today we had the tiramisu French toast and it was one of the best thing I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too sweet and all the textures and flavors were balanced perfectly. I also love that you don’t have to tip at this resturant like you do at almost every establishment these days. The service is always fast too for how small the inside is and everyone is so nice.

Piccione Pastry is a family-run bakery-cafe located on the corner of Delmar and Skinker, known for its traditional Italian sweets. The shop is famous for its divine and exquisite cannolis, made from scratch in the traditional Italian style.
I visit this bakery every time I'm in town on business - and am so happy every time. They have all the classics you would want (my favorites are the cannoli and Napoleon) as well as some St. Louis favorites. If you come close to closing time they'll likely be sold out of most of the cannoli but you're still sure to find something great. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Worth a stop!

The Cup, located in the Central West End and owned by Ericka Frank since 2007, is a modern bakery known for its inventive scratch-made cupcakes. The shop offers a rotating selection of flavors, including the popular Gold Rush cupcake with golden yellow cake and chocolate buttercream. With a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, The Cup is praised for its reasonably priced gourmet cupcakes that are as visually appealing as they are delicious.
Hey there! As a proud local from St. Louis, I just have to say that the Cup has always been a delightful spot for me. Seriously, I've tried every cupcake they offer, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad one! I recently made my way back home from Miami and, of course, I had to stop by. You can find their cupcakes at Straubs, but nothing beats visiting the store to explore all the different flavors and admire how gorgeous they look! The café itself is super cute and cozy, and the staff are always so friendly and patient while you decide what to get. It’s tough to choose because everything is just so good! My go-to favorites are the Strawberry, Gold Rush, Confetti, and Tuxedo. But really, you can’t go wrong with any of them—trust me, I’m definitely not a size 2 or 6! 😂 Oh, and they even have treats for our furry friends! 🐾🩷🐶

This is one of the cutest coffee shops I have ever seen. It is in a very safe and hip neighborhood. The coffee was great and the food was excellent. I love the fact that they had gluten-free options in regard to cupcakes. I always enjoy supporting small businesses versus major corporation stores. If you're in the area it is worth going to. Also, the prices were very reasonable for a coffee shop in a major city.

Revised for 2025: Parking was a bit of a hassle, but this is a quality cupcake. Moist, frosting is proportioned and good consistency. Also good take out packaging for a single cupcake. In 2025 returned for 5 cupcakes and they were all winners. Moist. Great frosting. Delicious

Their gluten free cupcakes are delicious and prepared with the utmost love and caution. My spouse and I had absolutely no allergic reaction so they are super careful with cross contamination too. The shop on Cherokee Street is known for its homemade pop-tartlets, ice pops, cookies, scones, and cupcakes. It has gained popularity at the Tower Grove Farmers' Market and remains committed to using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
I absolutely love Whisk Bakery in STL! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest, friendliest service—it's clear they really care about their customers. Plus, parking was a breeze (a rare gem in STL!)—I found a spot right away. The best part? Their desserts are not only delicious but sustainably made! You can enjoy your sweet treat knowing you're supporting eco-friendly practices. And the Christmas decor? A delightful bonus that really added to the festive charm. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in to savor a pastry, Whisk is a must-visit. Can't wait to go back!

The pop tartlet never disappoints, and the crème brûlée cookie was a fun and delicious surprise. Bagel Bombs are of course a staple must have, and as you see in the photo this little petite cake was calling out to us but we had to hold off this time. Can’t wait for the next pop up soon ;)

A really nice little bakery to stop in for a visit. Very cute and comfy with a variety of drinks, artisan ice pops, and creative baked goods that include vegan options. I had a bacon chocolate chip cookie, very good. I will definitely stop in again though I understand they have remodeled and will only be offering take out moving forward.

I ordered a vegan chocolate cake with vegan raspberry icing for my birthday, and it was DELICIOUS! The cake was rich and moist, the raspberry icing was just the right balance of sweet and tart, and the decoration was so cheerful! The staff are responsive, friendly, and overall top notch. Will be getting another cake from them, for sure!

Remember the smell of your grandma’s kitchen when she was making cookies...Whisk Bakeshop makes that nostalgic memory come to life. Not only are all of the baked goods out of this world delicious, but the ingredients are all sustainably sourced. Located in the eclectic Antique Row on Cherokee street, this little bakeshop fits right in. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with their recommendations!

Diana's Bakery is a bakery that specializes in Mexican desserts and treats. The bakery has donuts that are rich in buttery flavor and have a wonderful chewy texture. The bakery also sells tamales, which are an authentic experience. The bakery also has Flan, which is different from typical bakeries because the Flan was great but some of the other selections were past their prime.
WALL OF SUGAR. I walked in and there is this intense and amazing fragrance of sugar. This is my third visit and the cabinets are always full with the most amazing variety of baked goods. I cannot imagine how hard they work to create this incredible variety everyday. Do not forgot to pick up some Bollilos for your homemade sandwiches or tortas. Highky recommend visiting this bakery.

Diana’s Bakery is located on historic Cherokee Street and was a recent and delightful discovery for someone like me with a penchant for authentic Mexican pastries. As you step into this unassuming bake shop, you’re immediately hit with the sugary goodness smell. The bakery has an impressive array of over 100 traditional Mexican treats. Choosing just a few items will be impossible. The conchas, with their sweet, crunchy topping, are a must-try. The churros, golden and crisp, are a testament to the bakery’s dedication to traditional recipes. Check out my haul. You grab a glove and a tray and off you are on your journey to picking the treats that suit your fancy. The friendly staff are eager to guide you through their offerings and share the stories behind each treat. I love making discoveries like this.

Pros: - Authentic Mexican desserts - Fantastic prices - Open late for a bakery - Huge selection of different pastries Cons: - Not as many chocolate options as you’d expect

Stopped by Diana’s Bakery because I was in the area and Google Maps recommended it. I walked in to the smell of freshly baked pastries and loved the place immediately. I couldn’t believe the affordability and variety. We bought 10 pastries and the total was $20.25. I loved everything we bought. I would recommend the chocolate bunny ears and anything with apple inside of it. Unbeatable bakery.

The Fresh tamales in the morning???? DELICIOUS. 100/10. The family that runs this business puts so much love into the food they prepare and present. Every single one of baked goods we got were fresh and fluffy and full of flavor. I still can’t get over the tamales.. we devoured them all in less than 5 minutes.. We will be back! I’d recommend this bakery a thousand times over. They work so hard, the prices are actually affordable, and they’re absolutely delicious.

I stopped by Diana's Bakery this morning for some absolutely delicious donuts! They all have such a rich buttery taste and wonderful chewy texture! I wanted to get an authentic experience so I had to get some tamales as well! I was worried at first that getting 2 half dozens was too much until I tried one of each Puerco in Salsa Roja and Pollo in Slasa Verde and decided it was exactly enough! I plan on coming here again real soon and making tamales on New Year's Eve a new tradition!
Jeffrey L — Google review
Many tasty options for Mexican bread, cookies, and cakes. They also have tamales here. This is not a sit down bakery. There are no tables. Staff are friendly. Bakery items are good sized but empanadas are small compared to the other bakery items. Most items are 2.10 each. Pan dulce 1.35. Filled churro 2.25. Besos are my favorite.

Amazing Tamales! 😋 Authentic Mexican Bakery 5 Stars! 😋 If you are looking for authentic Mexican baked goods, this place does it just like they do in Mexico! You have to try their Flan, Tres Leches (3 milks cake) and I know this may sound out of place… but they make delicious tamales! Some of the best tamales in town! (They sell out fast! Shhh it’s a hidden secret they have the best in town. They should really consider expanding this part of their business) I ordered an entire Flan for my birthday and everyone could not stop talking about how amazing it was 😋😋😋 This is high quality people! I read on here people complaining about the prices. If you ordered a cake from any other bakery in town that’s high quality it would run $50-$100. Why would people expect these amazing cakes & Flan to be cheap??? SMH ONE THING… just like trying any food from other cultures, go into it with an open mind. Some of the pastries or donuts from Mexico are not as sweet as American pastries/donuts. They are colorful, but not as sweet. (Think scones) This sometimes throws people off. However, there are plenty that are just as sweet or more. You have to try different ones to see which ones you like. They also take prepaid orders ahead of time which is great!

Donut shop
Donut Drive In is a classic bakeshop in St. Louis, offering traditional donuts and old-fashioned baked treats at affordable prices. Despite the trend of newer, fancier donut shops in the area, this unpretentious spot remains a favorite for its soft and fresh donuts in traditional flavors. The neon sign of Donut Drive-In on Chippewa Street near Landsdowne is an iconic sight that brings joy to many locals.
We used Donut Drive-In as a fun dessert option at our wedding, and WOW—what a hit! From the giant apple fritters to the dreamy Boston cremes, the zingy lemon tarts, and the highly coveted caramel pecan cinnamon swirl, every single donut was a winner. With 51 donuts in our order, we had a mouthwatering variety to choose from, and somehow each one was more delicious than the last. Everything was fresh, on time, and full of that old-school donut magic. If you're thinking of adding a sweet twist to your event—or just want to treat yourself—we HIGHLY recommend Donut Drive-In!

Donut Drive In catered our wedding desserts and they were absolutely incredible. The ordering process was easy, delivery was right on time, and the donuts were beyond delicious. Our guests were obsessed—I didn’t even get to bring one home because they were all gone by the end of the night! Highly recommend for any event.

Best donuts in St. Louis. They’re fresh…. SO FRESH and THEY ARE OPEN ON MONDAYS. **unheard of and shocking in the donut biz** Get the chocolate long John with a face and sprinkle. If it doesn’t have a face it doesn’t count. Also, yes glazed donuts are for chili. I don’t make the rules.

Stopped in to grab a couple dozen assorted for my team on my way to work. Smells amazing as soon as you open the door! Staff is super friendly! I tried the chocolate long John. Was like biting into a chocolatey cloud of goodness! So soft and fluffy. Absolutely delish!

WOW!! You need to come here! It was outstanding! Staff was very friendly and was able to give great recommendations for people that were not from the St. Louis area and wanted to try what it was known for. Definitely try the long John’s they are phenomenal. I’m not a pie person normally and thought the apple hand pie (available on Wednesdays) was very good! Again can not say how friendly and helpful the staff was! If I wasn’t just passing through on a road trip I would be rushing to come back!

My favorite donut shop in Saint Louis!!!! Hands down!!!! If you go you have to get the Apple fritter. You won't be disappointed.
Crystal T — Google review
Great donuts! One of the best apple fritters I've had - just the right amount of crunch. If you're looking for a soft soggy fritter this isn't it. Tight inside because they are 90% bakery 10% costumer space. Not abnormal for a donut shop. You can make it easier if you don't like the tight space by ordering online.

Helfers are the best! I usually don’t write reviews but they did so amazing on my wedding cake I can’t stop looking at the pictures. Not only was my cake beautiful but it also was the best cake I’ve ever had. Lots of bakery can make a cake look good but to actually taste good that’s rare. I recently ordered 2 whole sheet cakes for my birthday on April 5th. One chocolate and one yellow. They were both a hit at the party. People were so impressed by how moist, tasty, and beautiful my cakes were. I am still getting calls & text asking where did I get those cakes from ! Once again, as usual they did a phenomenal job on my cakes. The only small issue was a slight raised area on my purple LV cake. It still was a great hit with everyone, especially the yellow cake. I will post the pictures here for your enjoyment. Thanks again Helfer’s Bakery in Florissant Mo.

I ordered the Italian Creme cake for a family reunion last month. When I came to pick it up, I swear a little tear welled up in my eyes. It was so beautiful! I arrived at the party, proudly carrying the cake. My Italian family was sooooooooo happy to see it, and the taste, oh my! Sooooooo delicious!! I appreciate the craft of Italian deserts because our elders are passed away years now. This cake reminds me of when I was young at the family parties! HUGE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!!

From the moment I walked in I was greeted with wonderful customer service!! Display case was organized and well marked. The hardest part was not getting one of everything! On her recommendation, I got the buttery crumb cake. That I’m not ashamed to admit, I ate it in the parking lot with my coffee!! I just couldn’t wait to get h back to the hotel!

Bakery
Cravings Gourmet Desserts is a well-established bakery known for its celebrated desserts, including special-occasion cakes and gourmet cookies. With over 25 years of experience, this St Louis-based bakery has gained local acclaim for its superb pastries and cakes, as well as national recognition with awards from the James Beard Society and USA Today. The bakery's offerings reflect a blend of American flavors and European influences, rooted in humble baking traditions from Ireland.
My boyfriend and I were walking along Webster and passed the bakery, and as a last second, decided to stop in. Greeted by very helpful and friendly staff. We got a few lemon cookies for our walk, and a piece of Lime Bombei Cake for later. Blown away by the cake. The delicacy of the lime, the smoothness of the creme balanced incredibly well with the blueberries and the moist sponge. Thank you for the amazing food experience. Incredible dessert.
Lizz — Google review
It’s called Cravings, but my sweet tooth cravings went unsatisfied after visiting. I tried the hazelnut zuccotto, the lime blueberry bombe, and the blueberry crumb cake, and none of them lived up to the hype. Given the accolades tied to the first two and the overall price point, I expected more. The cakes were on the drier side, and the flavors—especially in the hazelnut zuccotto and blueberry crumb cake—lacked the punch I was hoping for. One thing to note: all of their cakes and pastries appear to be refrigerated. Personally, I cannot stand when bakeries do this. When I go to a bakery, it’s because I’m craving dessert now, not after a two-hour thaw. And if you’re like me, you’ll probably eat them before they’re fully thawed and end up walking away dissatisfied.

I have been to two of their Food & Wine Pairing Events so far. From both of the events, I have been amazed at how delicious the food can be. The entrees have so much flavor and variety that I enjoyed each course. The desserts are just fantastic are truly the spotlight. The scones are delicious. Tim and his team are fantastic. If you ever get a chance to meet Tim and have a conversation, you are in for a treat.

I ordered Thanksgiving dinner for two. I was completely satisfied. It had all the trimmings. Each part of the meal had it own distinct flavor. I have been going there and ordering from they for years. At first it seems a little pricey. When you taste the food here you would pay twice as much. The mashed potatoes are unbelievable. Who knew. I'll be back
Denise E — Google review
So this place has basically closed down all inside dining (except once a month wine tastings). The dessert we ordered was a Boston Crème Pie, it was frozen and once it thawed it was dry and short on flavor. It was an item for one person and was $10, so way over priced. Too bad the hype doesn’t match the reality.
Zaven N — Google review
We stopped in before going to the Rep and were greeted right away. There were many specials in addition to what was offered on the menu. The mussels were done perfectly and my girlfriend had the special salad with pumpkin seeds and grilled sweet potatoes. She also had the sweet potato ravioli appetizer as her meal "awesome" her words. I had the Asian pork with green beans great flavor pairings. We shared their apple pie al a mode for dessert and I would highly recommend it as I would all of the items that we had last evening.
Chris W — Google review
I often have lunch at Cravings and usually get the wild mushroom tart with the side salad. The pastry on the tart is so flaky and buttery that it melts in your mouth...and there is a layer of mashed potatoes under the mushrooms so it is quite filling and very flavorful and delicious. For dessert, the carrot cake is exceptional and so are the lemon bars and the monster cookies and everything else that I have tried. The food is just so good that I could eat here a few times a week but then I would have to get a new wardrobe. Going there for dinner tonight, and I can't wait to try the pork with blackberry glaze.

I'm conflicted on how to rate this place. My wife and I stopped by to try an assortment since I'm a huge pie fan and we got 2 fruity pies (blueberry and pear blueberry) and 2 non-fruity pies (oatmeal chocolate and chocolate chess). I'm a big fan of fruit desserts but the two I tried were pretty lackluster for me. I don't know if it was the size but they were pretty bland/not very sweet and I didn't get much flavor from the fruit within. However! The non-fruity two we got were outstanding. I'd go back and order a whole oatmeal chocolate pie and eat it before I got home. The chocolate chess was also very good. Prices are ok for the size of pies you get and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Cakery is a delightful bakeshop that specializes in custom occasion cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Their Christmas and holiday treats include a variety of decorated sugar cookies, Nutella smores bars, Christmas confetti cake, spiced pecan cake, and snowman cakes in different flavors. The bakery's commitment to creating visually appealing and delicious cakes is evident in their use of their own buttercream frosting for all their creations.
I ordered my graduation cake from the cakery and it was so beautiful and delicious! I’ve had their cake in a cup before so I had a lot of faith 😌 the design is one you just request from their website and it’s absolutely stunning!!!! the pipework is very detailed and precise. The cake was so soft and the buttercream was the perfect amount of sweetness where you could actually finish a slice. I could not be happier with their work and can’t wait to order more from them for other occasions

The Cakery brought our Pinterest board to life with this adorable wedding cake! The order and design process was super simple and entirely online. When deciding on a wedding cake, my husband and I ordered cake tasting boxes from multiple vendors and invited a group of friends over to vote. The decision was unanimous - The Cakery! We had a vanilla cake with raspberry fruit filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. Not only was it gorgeous, but also delicious (fantastic price too)!

We worked with The Cakery and Henry to design cupcakes for our son’s Bar Mitzvah, and they were absolutely amazing. The recommendation from friends was spot on! While I didn’t get to taste a cupcake beforehand since they are made by special order, I trusted they would deliver—and they exceeded expectations. I shared photo inspirations, and the cupcakes came out looking just like the pictures, if not better. Henry guided me on how to pick up and store them on the day of the event, and everything was packed perfectly so not a single cupcake was harmed in transit. They were stunning, delicious, and set up beautifully by our caterer. Guests raved about them, and we even sent leftovers home in cupcake boxes as gifts. The Cakery made a perfect sweet touch to mark such a special occasion, and I would absolutely work with them again.

We ordered our wedding cake through the Cakery after trying their to-go sampler and fell in love with their flavors. We picked it up and dropped the gorgeous cake off at the zoo where the wedding would take place. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans: the recent tornado tore through the zoo and our wedding couldn't proceed as planned. We offered the cake to the clean-up crew as no-one was more deserving of a treat after such hard work, and were thrilled that someone got to enjoy it, which they very much did. The Cakery was also kind enough to offer a smaller replication of the wedding cake for free so that we could enjoy it ourselves, which we very much did! It was absolutely delicious, and their kind service was much appreciated as well. 10/10, thank you for your hard work!

Atmosphere was so cute. I like that you can watch the bakers doing their thing while you’re waiting. I got the Southwest hot pocket which had eggs, black beans, peppers, and cheese and I wish they were able to get it hotter in the toaster oven. The oatmeal Sammie was really good and cream filling wasn’t too sweet which I liked. Out of the three macarons the lemon one was my fave! I’ll be back to try more items

Lia and her team makes the best cakes. I had the St. Louisie cake at work last year and started getting them for myself recently. My best friend in KC loves gooey butter cakes too. Lia and her team packed up a small cake that I took to KC to give to my best friend for her wedding day. Lia’s cakes and bakery items are worth sharing. I enjoy them so often. Another thing to try, when they have it, the southwest pastry. It’s so soft and flaky and looks like a savory pop tart. I hope they make more different hand pies like that in the future.

Alibi Cookies was launched in September 2020 by introducing a vending machine called Cookie Bot that dispenses warm cookies. However, the focus has shifted to the exceptional cookies themselves, such as chocolate chunk, red velvet, s'mores, and apple pie, which are now available at various storefronts across town. Customers have praised the warm and soft texture of the cookies along with their perfect sweetness and chocolate level.
I will admit prior to today I haven’t actually spent much time in the dog town neighborhood but now I have a reason and it’s Alibi Cookies 📍1136 Tamm Avenue Ordered : Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Red Velvet Cookie Deluxe Apple Pie Fruity Pebble Milkshake all of the cookies are great but the Deluxe Apple Pie is in a different caliber. The rolled oats create this really fresh essence and compliment the flaky crust. Then as you get towards the heart of the cookie you taste chunks of apple , and you’re hit with an ooze of gooey caramel and you’re hooked. This damn cookie needs its own commercial 🔥 The fruity pebble milkshake is top notch. Outside of the cereal flavor there is a dominant sugar cookie presence so as you’re drinking the shake you’re literally tasting the warm and buttery pieces of cookies. I have no idea how many calories I consumed and I really don’t care I would do it all again. These are the best cookies in Saint Louis

The peanut butter cup cookie was a peanut butter paradise, but I think they replaced all of the butter in this cookie with peanut butter. The cookie didn’t really have that moist gooeyness you look for in a cookie, and it was exceptionally light on the toppings too. But the cookie was pretty soft, and the warmers that they have here which constantly keep the cookies warm are a nice touch that really help mimic the fresh out of the oven feel. But for a $4 cookie that can fit in the palm of my hand, I want a cookie chock-full of toppings, and enough butter to give me congestive heart failure. This cookie just didn’t live up to expectations given the price, size, and the fact that it’s made by a place that specializes in cookies and alibis.

Let me start this review by saying, "I am a cookie SNOB!" Certain criteria must be met for me to brag about a cookie. With that being said, I'll brag at any time about Alibi Cookies. I've purchased cookies at this location several times. They're warm and flavorful. I love the fact that the folks at Alibi don't skimp on BUTTER! I love all good, warm, buttery cookies. You definitely get that at Alibi. It's so fresh and tasty. They also have great customer service. Tonight, I received exceptional service from a young woman named McKenna. She was friendly, helpful, and honestly loads of fun. She made us feel so welcomed, like an old friend. Her service was top tier. It was my friend I brought alongs first time there. She loved the cookies and the wonderful customer service as well. Give 'em a try. They're delicious. If you don't want to stop inside, they have a warm cookie vending machine outside their building. Go get you some!!! **I tried the strawberry ice cream and enjoyed a small cup also. Try it! **

If I could give them 10 stars I would! A huge thank you to McKenna, who was absolutely off some and servicing both myself and my friend who came in just looking for an awesome cookie to enjoy! Several cookies later by her wonderful recommendation we were dancing and singing enjoy in the restaurant! McKenna help me decide exactly what to get based on my weird description of what I was feeling that night that alone earns her mini stars! The cookies were so soft, warm, and buttery, which blows my mind! I even got a brownie because that initially was what I was craving. It more than hit the spot. You could taste the warm chocolate chips throughout the brownie as well as all of, the loving care that went into that batter to make them! So delicious. I will definitely be back and when I come, I pray that McKenna is there to greet me with her amazing smile and attitude. That is what Customer Service is all about!

Had oatmeal, snickerdoodle, and red velvet they were hard I was expecting a lot better looking at the reviews. But it wasn't that good, only thing good was the price. The actual cookies did disappoint. The staff was good but to me the product was lacking cookies where hard like a stail hard not cooked long hard it didn't have a crunch more or less which was interesting.
Christopher — Google review
Great cookies, but not packaged with as much care as I would have liked. Since they were soft, they all mushed together by the time I got to my destination and there wasn't tissue paper or anything separating the flavors. The icing cookie got everywhere.
Cassi D — Google review
Literally, the BEST cookie I think I’ve ever had. I got the huge chocolate chip chunk and it was AMAZING! It did not last long enough to take a picture 😊😬

Upper Crust Bread, crafted by Jeffrey Moll, offers a variety of delicious loaves including the country loaf and rustic buckwheat loaf. Orders can be placed online every Sunday at 1 p.m. While it may require some extra steps to get the bread, customers find it worth the effort. The bakery also offers seasonal items in addition to its weekly staples. Customers rave about the classic rosemary focaccia and various cookies, with one reviewer calling it a hidden gem of St Louis.
Absolutely amazing bread, flavorful, rich, healthy and delightful. I really like the herbed butter as well. I found the pricing solid too as the loaves are generously sized and dense. Highly recommend.

Picking up delicious af sourdough from a random residential neighborhood, after the build-up of waiting an entire week for my allotted Saturday bread hour, is the exact kind of small joy I needed in these trying times.

Jeffrey's bread is one of our favorite parts about St Louis! It's a weekly staple for us. Amazing chewy texture and fun varieties. We love the ube (pictured) and olive breads. Thank you Jeffrey!
Andy O — Google review
There was a time I ate the Rye Chocolate Chunk & Black Sesame Cookies every single day for 2 months. The focaccia is the best I’ve ever had. Jeff is an excellent baker and it feels good knowing your money is going to someone who puts his heart into his craft.

I'm a little late to review this as I've been going here for months, but better late than never. There are a handful of places to get great bread in St. Louis and this is definitely one. Sure you can't just walk in a buy a loaf, but the ordering is easy and getting it is as well. It's worth the extra steps. There are some weekly staples in addition to some new breads/items that are seasonal and all are a real treat. Definitely give Upper Crust a try. You won't be disappointed!
Todd G — Google review
The breads are amazing but don’t skip out on the compound butters and sauces as well! Absolutely delicious.

My partner loves focaccia, so to celebrate his recent publication, I ordered one of the classic rosemary focaccias along with some snickerdoodle cookies & the rye chocolate sesame cookies. He is obsessed. Best focaccia he's ever had. Planning to order more next week! This is a hidden gem of St Louis.

It is the best sourdough I’ve ever had (country loaf), but I don’t even get that anymore because the focaccia and milk bread buns are so stupid good and I can only eat so much bread each week.

Old Town Donuts, a family-owned establishment since 1968, has been voted the Best Donuts in St. Louis. The original location in Old Town Florissant is a beloved community staple that offers sweet treats 24/7, making it a popular spot for late-night cravings. With its classic donut options and unique box designs featuring the Easter bunny and donut man, this establishment prides itself on being open around the clock, except on Christmas.
This is hands down the best donuts I’ve had in the STL area. Every flavor blended so well and tasted absolutely incredible. Pricing wasn’t bad either. $15 for 7-8 donuts half being the deluxe doughnuts.
Caitlin F — Google review
We came here because of all of the reviews and just had to try it. Their donuts are so good, probably the best blueberry cake donut I’ve ever had, all the donuts were great! 🍩🍩🍩
Gabi B — Google review
If you're looking for classic donuts that live up to their hype, Old Town Donuts is the place to go. Their reputation is well-deserved, and it's easy to see why once you bite into their delicious offerings. The Devil's Food donut is a standout, striking a perfect balance of sweetness from the glaze and chocolate cake flavor. It's also beautifully presented, making it as appealing to the eye as it is to the palate. Please do yourself a favor and leave with an apple or 2. These are massive and boast an ideal harmony of sweet apples, delicate glaze, and perfectly fried dough. It was, without a doubt, my favorite item from Old Town Donuts. If you're a fan of local St. Louis treats, you absolutely have to try their gooey butter cake donut. It's everything you'd imagine a gooey butter cake would taste like, perfectly encapsulated in donut form. The convenience factor can't be overstated either. Being open 24 hours was a lifesaver, allowing me to easily pick up a fresh dozen after a night shift. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Old Town Donuts to explore more of their tempting selection!

The twist was my personal favorite. It was warm when I got it, so perfect. The apple fritter was good but needed to be cooked longer I found some uncooked dough in the middle. The Gooey butter donut was good, not amazing did not remind me of a Gooey butter cake that much.

This my hometown spot right here! Friendly faces, delicious fresh donuts and my daughter said the ice coffee is the bommb! They are in the running for best donuts in the country and yes I have voted for them! If you love the cozy, Mom and Pop feel of a little town shop, look no further!

We came here for breakfast on our way out of St. Louis on Sunday, July 13, 2025. When talking with another patron from the area while waiting in line he said it was one of the best donut places in St. Louis and my friend and I could certainly see why. Our donuts tasted really good and the decorations was awesome. There was an older gentleman playing live music on his accordion too, overall it was just a fun little Sunday at this cute breakfast shop in St. Louis. Great job! (Written 7-22-25)

Well to sum this place up we went three times during our week vacation outside St. Louis. The donuts were delicious, fresh and so light. Hard to pick a favorite but mine was the ooey gooey butter cake donut and the salted caramel. My moms favorite was the French toast.

The Mud House is a cozy spot popular among locals, offering a variety of coffee drinks, breakfast items, pastries, and sandwiches with the option for outdoor seating. One of its top sellers is the Mud House Slinger, a vegetarian take on the classic St. Louis slinger that can also be customized with pork.
Hands down my favorite experience in St. Louis. The atmosphere of the Mud House is awesome. A variety of songs were being played (mostly throwbacks - perfect!) and there were a variety of customers there; people working, studying, reading, eating, there as a group and as a couple. Truly something for everyone. The service was fantastic, extremely kind and personable staff. I ordered an espresso, Americano and an English breakfast. I wish I had visited The Mud House sooner, I'd likely have visited every day! I highly recommend you visit The Mud House!

Street parking, Cute place with lots of entertaining things on walls and what not. Dirty chai was strong (if you like sweet you’ll need to ask to add something) I enjoyed mine. Biscuits and gravy were disappointing super oily and sweet tasting which just wasn’t what I was going for. Other food options I saw others eating looked good. Plenty of seating indoor and outside. Seems like nice hang out spot. Indoor got pretty loud with just a handful of people. Overall good spot and great service and good coffee.

Traveling in the area 12-7-24 had this placed saved on my Google maps. I love coming to coffee cafes across the US with a rustic vibe. Staff was awesome, environment was peaceful. I felt safe coming to the neighborhood and this location as a solo female. Food was yummy. Ordered a hash breakfast, black coffee and chocolate chip cookie for later day treat. I would give 5 stars but the ONLY issue I had was the music was choppy (cutting in/out) as if it was on someone’s phone as if they were playing it Bluetooth via the speakers. That was very distracting amongst myself and others in the cafe.
R R — Google review
American style breakfast very filling and delicious. The matcha was wonderful, not water down or lacking taste. Highly recommend if ya in the neighborhood! Peaceful atmosphere and staff were kind and quick to help with any questions :)

This place is pretty chill. The food here is actually really really good considering it's a coffee shop. I would rank Mudhouse in the top 2 coffeeshops in STL as far as food. Great quality food menu. We had the American breakfast which is always a fun favorite. The eggs were made very well (scrambled with cheese), side salad with a mustard vinaigrette, breakfast potatoes, with a slice of sourdough break and raspberry jam. Eggs: 9/10 Salad 9/10 Potatoes 7/10 Bread 6/10 Overall, the food is great quality (considering it's a coffee shop). Mudhouse 8/10

SO cool. Very quirky atmosphere, and the food came out very quickly even though it was packed. absolutely fantastic food, highly recommend getting the french onion dip with the american breakfast. The sausage is also great, as is the horchata latte!

Winslow's Table is a unique establishment that combines a restaurant and market, offering modern American comfort food, household items, and groceries. Founded by Michael and Tara Gallina, renowned restaurateurs in St. Louis, the venue aims to fill a void left by the closure of Bar Les Freres during the pandemic. The menu features carefully selected ingredients such as locally sourced flour from Janie's Mill for their signature buttermilk pancakes served with blueberry compote and Vermont maple syrup.
Great brunch spot! The vibe is cute and cozy, and the food was amazing. I had the pancakes with blueberry compote and whipped butter, plus a honey oat cold brew—both were delicious. My group also enjoyed the Tex Mex omelette and breakfast burrito. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The staff was super friendly, and prices were reasonable. Definitely coming back to try the cinnamon roll next time!

Finally came to the popular spot for brunch! I actually went here twice in the past month. The place is super busy usually for brunch but you can find a spot within 5-10 minutes. I got their breakfast sandwich which was very flavorful even thought it’s only like 5 main ingredients. I shared a sweet treat with my friend which I highly recommend you guys also try some of their baked pastries. I got the classic vanilla latte as well. I also tried their lox bagel the other time I went and it was actually very filling. They’re generous with the cream cheese and I love that. My friend liked her burrito and my other friend likes the omelet that comes with tortilla and bread. Overall, great lovely environment and would come again.

My buddy from St Louis took me to breakfast this morning and met him at Winslow’s Table. Seriously what a cool little spot. I did not expect this at all. The food was great, the atmosphere was chill. I ordered the two egg breakfast with bacon, potatoes and toast with a side pancake my buddy pressed the avocado toast and we had a black coffee and a cappuccino. Absolutely the food was great and it was an amazing day so we at outside. Bathrooms were clean and the parking lot was viewable and plenty of space. I might be back tomorrow. This was my first time here and I loved it. Thanks

I’ve loved visiting Winslow’s for years. I reserved The Cellar downstairs for a bridal shower and could not have been more pleased with the food, the space and the service! Everyone had such a wonderful time. The most phenomenal and thoughtful team. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Farmer’s Breakfast with scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, sourdough bread and potatoes. The eggs were cooked nicely. The fruit was over ripe and soft or mushy. Unfortunately the sourdough bread was over toasted which made it extra crunchy. The only jelly they offered was a peach jam which was disappointing. You ordered at the counter and pay then you go sit and they bring your food to you. They have a small parking lot on the side of the building or street parking. It’s a cute restaurant.
John K — Google review
Fast service and doesn't require a reservation. Food was alright. The tex mex omlette was good, but the korean chicken sandwich was not korean chicken. The batter was like a fish breading almost and the pickled elements and slaw did not mesh well. The beet salad was alright, could have used more crunch. The cinnamon roll was very disappointing, it was dry and the icing tasted like pure sugar. The honey oat cold brew was amazing though. They have downstairs and outside seating as well.
Elena — Google review
Honestly a robbery. $27 for a breakfast burrito with 90% potatoes and a glass of orange juice that’s half filled. I went to the counter and asked them why my glass is half full and they said it’s 8 oz I look around and everyone else’s orange juice cups are all full. Our waiter didn’t ask me what size orange juice I was assuming it would be a full cup. I asked to sub my sourdough with bagels and the lady taking my order was so confused like what’s complicated about that. The potatoes were not seasoned and our farmers breakfast came with no butter. Service sucks and we kept on having to get up to get ketchup and condiments. One of our meals came with a hair in it but we were so over the bad service horrible food that’s overpriced we just left it and didnt it bother complaining. The price you’re paying and the food don’t add up save yourself the breath and money and go somewhere else.

Food quality was pretty good. I enjoyed the variety of items and was surprised on how efficient the staff was able to run the orders out. Great pancakes. I love the sparkling lemonade. Lots of people try to overload lemonade with sugar, but not these guys. Their lemonade was actually nice and refreshing. Kudos

Park Avenue Coffee in Lafayette Square has been a beloved part of the community for over a decade. They offer an extensive menu of ethically sourced, small-batch, air-roasted coffee and are known for their house dark roast, which brings out the full flavor of the beans without any harsh bitter aftertaste. The shop also sells Gooey Butter Cake in various flavors and even offers a bake-at-home mix as a souvenir.
Small but nice coffee shop in the amazing Lafayette Square neighborhood across from the park. Looks like they may have an outdoor back patio as well, but it was closed due to time of year (winter). Good coffee and fast friendly service. Since it is so small, it's not the type of place to spend a lot of time there.

If you're looking for a cozy and inviting spot to hang out with your buddies while sipping on a steaming cup of coffee, look no further. This place offers the perfect ambiance for unwinding, catching up on conversations, and creating memorable moments with friends. Whether you’re planning a casual meetup or a long-overdue reunion, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes it an ideal choice. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, instantly lifting your spirits. From classic espresso-based drinks to rich, creamy lattes, every sip feels like a warm hug. Pair your favorite coffee with a slice of their must-try Gooey Butter Cake, a delightful treat that melts in your mouth with its soft, buttery goodness. We highly recommend Mom’s Original Flavor, which captures the essence of homemade comfort with its sweet, rich, and slightly caramelized crust. The cake’s irresistible texture and flavor perfectly complement the bold, aromatic coffee, making every bite a heavenly experience. Whether you’re settling in for a long chat, diving into deep discussions, or simply enjoying the company of friends, this café offers a relaxing environment with cozy seating and a laid-back vibe. It’s the ultimate destination to relax, laugh, and indulge in delicious treats that keep you coming back for more.

Cute place with good gooey butter cake. Lots of Flavor to choose from. It was fresh! The place is very clean and lots of seating. I had to have gooey cake seeming I was in at Louis and it being the home of. So I looked up places and this one popped up as the best. I was excited and after driving 4 hrs with only 10min before closing we made it. The girl waiting on us was shy and quiet with short answers. Another girl came out and seemed rude an just bossy. I know 10min before closing really but there were other people inside and more coming in as we were leaving. So I don’t think that was the cause of the off customer service. If I had not just been passing through st Louis heading to Branson I would have waited for the next day to visit. But aside from the off customer service food was great and we will stop back by when we have more time an not so last min!

This is a review of the smoothies at Park Avenue Coffee. The menu and the actual price of the smoothie is off. When I asked, apparently management didn’t print the menu correctly? Also, the ingredients to the smoothie are: peach juice, powdered vegetables, and powdered yogurt. There aren’t actual vegetables in the smoothie. Which made for a pretty bad tasting smoothie. The coffee looked great, I’d just recommend staying far away from the “smoothies”. See the photo…smoothie after 20 minutes.

I'm a huge fan of Park Avenue Coffee, especially in Lafayette Square. It's a small-ish space but the coffee and snacks are excellently handled. Moreover, the atmosphere of their location is perfect. It's*very* relaxed and comfortable with good natural light. Get the Lavender Brown Sugar Coffee while you are there, and try out the savory scones on offer!

I am definitely a new fan! They had multiple sugar-free syrups, the employees were incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and I loved the atmosphere. I had a very good sugar-free hazelnut latte. Successfully resisted the gooey butter cake, but I did let myself enjoy the smells! Their WiFi was open and didn't require some secret password. Coffee was delicious, no bitterness whatsoever.

Pharaoh's Donuts is a hidden gem nestled in an unassuming storefront in downtown St. Louis, where the aroma of freshly made donuts fills the air. Owned by Amon Aziz, who has been perfecting his craft for over two decades, this delightful shop has been serving up both classic and innovative donut creations since 2014. While it may be easy to miss the sign outside, stepping inside reveals a cozy atmosphere that beckons you to return for more.
This little hidden gem in St. Louis is everything you’d want from a local mom-and-pop donut shop. The donuts were incredibly fresh and delicious, paired perfectly with a simple cup of black coffee. The shop has a slightly run-down vibe, and the area might feel a little sketchy, but that’s part of the charm – it’s authentic, unpretentious, and clearly loved by locals. The service was friendly and the staff are funny. For what you’d expect from a local mom and pop shop, they’re doing awesome, and I love supporting small businesses like this! Definitely worth a visit.

Wow. I was skeptical when I walked in because to be honest the place is a bit run down and behind the counter was quite a mess, and there was a bit of smoke in air from something having been burnt... Anyways! Selection was pretty low, even at 930am on a Tuesday. I got the cinnamon roll and hot damn, it went right into my top 3 favorite donuts list! So light and fluffy and the best part was it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Perfect amounts of cinnamon and a nice thin glaze... The price was very reasonable, only $2 and change for something so delicious! I'll absolutely be back! Highly recommend trying!

This place has potential but missed the mark for me. I had their apple fritter and old fashioned donuts since most of the other choices were simply donuts with toppings which isn't my favorite. The fritter was great as an iced donut but I didn't taste any apple at all. The old fashioned was too soft on the outside and lacked that crunchy outside you expect from a sour cream donut.

We walked down to try these donuts before heading to the arch for the day. We got there early, and they still had a good selection of donuts. I had a lemon donut, which was really good, and the glaze didn't leave that weird film on your teeth like some other chain restaurant donuts. The cake donuts were also good and soft. Atmosphere was basically just kinda run down inside, bathroom was out of order and they didn't have any almond milk options. So I would suggest going and grabbing some donuts as they are delicious and walk to a different cafe to grab a coffee and enjoy in one of the parks around the city.

I've eaten Pharaoh's Donuts a bunch. Probably the best donuts in St Louis. Today I walked in to buy some donuts with my little dog (I live downtown) and was immediately told, no dogs. Not a dog friendly place. I was totally bummed but there you are, no donuts for me. Probably won't go back. 😢

Since 2013, Strange Donuts has been making a name for itself as one of the most innovative and distinctive donut shops in St. Louis. With multiple locations across the city, including Maplewood, Kirkwood, and Creve Coeur, it's easy to satisfy your craving for their classic favorites like Glazed and Jelly-Filled or indulge in their more unconventional custom creations. Despite changes in ownership, the shop continues to serve up its imaginative "dones" across various categories.

This used to be awesome. The donuts were packed with crazy designs, inventive flavors and fresh. There was almost always a line out the door with a hip vibe that was reflecive of Maplewood. I really miss it. Something changed around the time they opened the 2nd location & each experience since has been.. bland at best. So, here's my review of today's experience & likely my last: We bought a dozen with a mix of Sparkle Pony, long John's, Chocolate Strawberry, KoolAid Jelly, Gooey Butter & Mocha Frappe Pie. Donuts are pretty, but taste stale & cold, like they were made the night before or somewhere else. The icings are all dry and crunchy. The Jelly filings had a nice pop that was redeemable. The vibe & personality is gone. No hip music or cool merch. The service hands you donuts without excitement. I'm super PRO Maplewood. It hurts to say, but unless something changes, I don't recommend Strange Donuts. I paid $35 & could've gotten 100% better, fresh donuts at Schnucks for $12. Next time, I'll see who else wants business. However, maybe things are fresh in the afternoon.

I'm torn because I've had some truly great experiences at Strange Donuts, but other times I've felt so disappointed. But every one of these great experiences has come from getting their weekly "Stranger" donut that they post on Instagram, where they post a new donut that's especially strange, especially huge, and is available that weekend across all of their locations. That's where I tried by far the best two donuts I've had from Strange Donuts: - blueberry lemon fruit loop donut - cosmic brownie donut with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate custard filling. But outside of these donuts that get posted on Instagram, I've generally been disappointed by what I got from Strange Donuts. Their fillings and frostings are well-executed, but the actual donut falls short at least on their yeast-based donuts. Be mindful of stranger danger when it comes to Strange Donuts' regular donuts. But if you see a donut that aligns with your taste preferences that's posted as their "Stranger" donut on Instagram for the week, unleash your inner sumo wrestler and grab one of these mega-sized masterpieces. You won't be disappointed. blueberry lemon fruit loop donut > cosmic brownie donut with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate custard filling > raspberry cheesecake donut > gooey butter cake donut

I tried Strange Donuts for the first time and I’m only giving it 3.5 stars because the donut was on the “thick” side. It felt like I was eating a lot of dough/bread and I like my donuts to be on the lighter/fluffier/airy side. I don’t like to feel like it’s taking me a while to eat a donut. The donut itself is good it’s just a lot of dough for me.

The doughnuts were good. Especially the Christmas tree and eggnog ones! The dough was not too heavy and had a good texture. They were cute but kind of messy and irregular in presentation. The ones I received tasted fresh and the guy serving them was nice.

In St Louis on a friend's trip and woke up early and said to myself, "Im going to be the good homie and go surprise my friends with coffee and donuts." Walked in at 0800 o'clock on a Sunday and requested 5 coffees. "Sorry, we are out of coffee." OK that is weird especially if since it says "Hot coffee" outside and also, I don't know... it is a donut shop on a Sunday morning. All good, I'll go somewhere else so I went ahead and ordered a half dozen of glazed donuts, "Your total is $15". I didn't think anything of it and paid. As I walked outside I started thinking how a half dozen of original glazed donuts for $15 is wild, so I checked the menu online. It says $8 for half a dozen of original glazed. So I went back inside to asked about the price and was told, "OH that must be the Door Dash price". I pointed out the price was listed on the Google menu and was still told that is not right. So this 1 star review is to let the owners know to update your online pricing (and have coffee brewed for Sunday morning) or to warn everyone that prices online are misleading... and they don't have coffee on Sunday morning

I was a little nervous walking in here because it was totally empty. The display donuts didn’t look that good, and they weren’t labeled. But I got the strawberry filled one and was pleasantly surprised! Great flavor! The donut was super squishy and the filling actually tasted like fresh strawberries unlike most donut shops. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town.

Had a great time stopping in at this place from out of town. Coming from AZ, this is one of the best donut places we’ve been to. Not saying that AZ has any special donuts…. BUT really good donuts and fritters. We will be back sometime again to try out some more. FYI cash only. We were lucky and had some. Would highly recommend

Restaurant
Ices Plain & Fancy is a popular ice cream shop known for its wide variety of flavors, including simple classics and more extravagant options like Campfire Smores. They even have flavors for dogs so your furry friend can join in the fun. To celebrate their 10th birthday and National Ice Cream Day, they're hosting a street party with live music, carnival games, food trucks, and a special flavor called Birthday Cake.
This place is so amazing. I have never had Nitro ice cream before. So this was a new experience for me, and it is located in this quaint neighborhood, where there is very little street traffic. As far as cars are concerned, but there are people out walking their dog with their families. So it is definitely a family oriented area. The staff there were amazing in offering up menu ideas. I chose to get the okay fine which had rumchata with fruit loops, and that was absolutely amazing. You could hardly taste the alcohol, but it was very satisfying and refreshing. We also got the strawberry cheesecake and that was made perfectly with fresh strawberries and everything and it tasted just like strawberry cheesecake. Definitely a must try, and when I am back in town again, this is a place I will visit again.

The ice cream is delicious, is super smooth, the flavors are unique, they use real liquor to make some of the ice cream, overall great experience!

It’s a little pricey than most places I think but worth every penny! You will not be disappointed— Hands down THE BEST ice cream I’ve ever had! It’s made to order and they use liquid nitrogen which is why it tastes so good!

First time having Nitro Ice Cream and it didn't disappoint. I had the chocolate, it was creamy, delicious, and just the right temperature for enjoying ice cream. My date had a boozy nitro ice cream, the Benjamin, with Dickel whiskey topped with candied pecans. The ambience is sweet and charming with a true neighborhood corner store feel with the shop in Historic Shaw.

Came in yesterday evening and was excited to enjoy one of my favorite flavors that I always order. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with how it was made. I am not sure if the person who made it was new or needs to improve their customer service skills.

This place is one of a kind and AMAZING!!! The staff was great! The ice cream delicious. The atmosphere welcoming. The 'show' was super cool to watch! Definitely a must visit on your trip to town. Each order is made to order. Flash freeze and then serve. Have 21+ an older ice cream. Waffle cones are delicious. Nice size servings. Street parking. Outdoor eating area. 😋

There’s something about Ices Plain & Fancy that feels like stepping into a little pocket of joy—like summer bottled into a scoop and served with a puff of science. The first time I walked in, I wasn’t just ordering ice cream—I was chasing a feeling. The kind you had as a kid when the ice cream truck came down the street, or when you got to pick your own sundae toppings after a good report card. But here, it’s different… elevated. Magical. And still deeply nostalgic. You don’t just get a cone—you get a show. Liquid nitrogen curls around the counter like smoke from a storybook, and for a moment, everyone—kids, adults, first dates, grandparents—watches in quiet awe as your ice cream is created before your eyes. It’s theatrical, but never gimmicky. It’s science, but it feels like love. And the taste? Pure, creamy heaven. Whether you go classic or wild-card (hello, booze-infused specials), every flavor is rich, balanced, and made with care. This place doesn’t rush, and honestly, neither should you. And if you brought your pup? You must get a Sticky Charlie—their doggie ice cream treat that will make tails wag and noses twitch with joy. It's the cherry on top of an already perfect visit. Ices Plain & Fancy isn’t just a treat. It’s a reminder to slow down, savor, and let something small bring you big happiness.

Comet Coffee is a laid-back spot known for its hand-brewed, single-origin coffees and delectable housemade baked goods. Since its launch in 2012, the brand has gained recognition for its ethically sourced coffee and exceptional pastries, particularly the renowned croissant. Under new leadership, Comet's bakery offerings have expanded to include seasonal pastries alongside their legendary chocolate chip cookie. The establishment is also celebrated for bringing specialty coffee to St.
PROs: Good location. Friendly service. Large selection of pastries and they're great. Coffee was ok. Comfy aesthetic atmosphere. CONs: Pastries a tad pricey. Set sizes on coffee, see menu. Nearly $30 (before tip) we ordered 3 pastries & 2 coffees. But we only received 1 coffee. The barista was kind enough to provide the missing coffee we ordered but supposedly it wasn't recorded. We paid in cash and didn't ask for a receipt. An afterthought, nearly $30 is pricey for 3 pastries and 1 coffee.

Comet Coffee is a gem! I tried their classic latte, the matcha latte, and the cinnamon croissant pastry—and every single item was spot on. The latte was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—no bitterness, just that comforting coffee warmth. The matcha latte had a beautiful earthy flavor with just the right hint of sweetness, making it both refreshing and cozy. But the real star? The cinnamon croissant! Flaky, buttery layers with a generous swirl of cinnamon that pairs perfectly with either drink. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, the staff is friendly, and it’s clear they care about quality. Whether you’re here for your morning caffeine fix or a mid-day treat, Comet Coffee delivered!

Nice modern coffee shop atmosphere and aesthetic. Clean. The smell of coffee beans and pastry fills the air. The service is outstanding!! So friendly! Greetings with a smile! They know the regulars and greet them by name. I had a latte and my wife had a hot chocolate, both works of art!! We also enjoyed a Comet Croissant and Chocolate Croissant and both were out of this world delicious!!! So flakey and buttery!! We had flashbacks to our time in Quebec City and Paris. So good!! Also had a piece of tomato and basil quiche, which was delicious as well. My wife and I highly recommend you try this place!!

Really nice coffee spot, however it’s small and popular so seats can be a challenge. Has some outdoor seating as well. Had a cold brew and coffee cake, both were excellent. Friend had a pour over and he was pleased as well.

Comet Coffee was first recommended to me by another local coffee shop owner which is always a good sign. It has always delivered a great experience. I’ve never had a better espresso shot than I have had here! They have it completely dialed in for each option they have and there is no better shop for espresso anywhere in the Midwest! The staff is incredibly kind and they have the best offering of beans from all over the world which is hard to find in the Midwest!

My favorite coffee shop on St Louis! They have a good selection of specialty coffees, they make great espresso, and the croissants. Omg the CROISSANTS. I always buy multiple because I live in a small town with nothing comparable. Buttery and flaky and airy and layered and delicious. They also have gluten free food options, though limited. Just wish they were open past 2pm.

Amazing little coffee shop with excellent coffee - pour overs are their specialty. Delicious coffee and espresso. The baked goods are excellent as well and the quiche is among the best I’ve had. Superb.

I stopped in St. Louis for the first time, and I feel like I have discovered a gem! The chocolate croissant were the BEST croissants, I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I literally felt a dopamine high after eating one. I am truly sad that I don’t have a comet coffee in my hometown. While enjoying the chocolate croissant, I wished that I could bring a thousand home to eat later. Also, the hot latte I got was tasty as well! Cool vibes in the shop too. If I’m in St. Louis again I would look forward to the chocolate croissants!

Nestled in the heart of The Grove, Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream is a delightful ice cream parlor that brings joy to every scoop. With an ever-changing menu of flavors, this charming spot offers everything from whimsical options like Cookie Monster and Orange Dream to classic favorites such as Strawberry Cheesecake and Black Walnut. One of the highlights here is the chance to craft your own unique ice cream sandwich using freshly baked cookies paired with your choice of creamy goodness.
Amazing service! Staff is well trained in handling food allergies and took great care to make sure ice cream was prepared nut free safely. From my experience, none of ice cream shops in St. Louis asked me about nut allergy before. We got the salt caramel and pumpkin cheesecake. Delicious!!! My kids were happy with their flavors as well. The shop was clean. They had vegan options (black sesame with pistachio and sweet potato). I actually came for the black sesame but vegan flavors here weren’t for me. Bummer!!! I’d come back in summer time to try other sorbet flavors that staff recommended.

My boyfriend and I are visiting St. Louis and were craving a sweet treat! I like super sweet creamy ice cream and he likes sorbets more. We found Serendipity online and saw it has a great selection of both. We were welcomed by the sweetest girl who was so helpful and patient while my boyfriend and i were clearly struggling to choose what to get. Customer service was a 11/10 and the quality of the ice cream was just as good! I went with a kids scoop of salted caramel swirl in a sugar cone while my boyfriend got a small dish of lemon sorbet. The salted caramel flavor was delicious!! The salt balances out the sweetness of the caramel so well! As for the lemon sorbet- my boyfriend said, and I quote, “It was tart and if you like lemon it’s just perfect.” We will definitely be returning to this shop if we happen to be in St. Louis again.

The ice cream is incredibly delicious with a rich and smooth texture that isn’t overly sweet. I especially enjoyed the consistency—it has just the right amount of thickness. Paired two flavors together (pictured) excellent recommendation. Slammed. Will be trying again soon. Thank you also for the pup cup, thank you for bringing it to my sweet, gluttonous little animal. He appreciates it, so do I. What a wonderful place with wonderful people, been here several times, will come again. Always been great 👍

Vitale's Bakery is a long-standing Italian bakery located in the Hill neighborhood of St. Louis. Since the 1970s, it has been known for its excellent Italian bread and traditional pastries like ricotta puffs and cannolis. The bakery offers a variety of treats including rum raisin, chocolate and almond biscotti, snow ball cookies, and butter pecan cookies that make for great gifts.
Before you walk into this old school Italian Bakery (located on the hill off Marconi) bakery take a second to make sure your shoes are tied on tight, you might even want to double knot them because the cream horns and the ricotta puffs will knock your socks clean off. They charge by weight and by the cost vs the amount you receive it is quite affordable. People are friendly, helpful, (they do sell out so get there early) it's old school done right. They have frozen pizza shells, noodles, raviolis, sauce / gravy, canolis, and other items to grab so you can actually get stuff for your dinner here too. Pro Tip: Buy extra they are fresh so they are good the next morning as well.

If you’re on The Hill and don’t stop at Vitale’s, you’re seriously missing out. Their Italian cookies are melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and the cannolis? Absolute heaven—crispy shells with the perfect creamy filling that keeps you coming back for more. The atmosphere has that cozy, authentic charm that makes you want to linger, and the staff make you feel like family the moment you walk in. Vitale’s isn’t just a bakery—it’s an experience. A true must-visit gem on The Hill!

Vitale's Bakery in The Hill district - It has been my history that whenever in a new city, find the cookies and the chocolate. I'm attending a conference and first visit to St Louis. I have a counterpart with the same goal: cookies and chocolate. We easily corrupted two more peers to seek the goods. I discovered Vitale's walking the Hill. I'm an ant, I scout, then bring back the other ants. Vitale's did not dissapoint. First, the staff are great and engaging, and they were patient, to the point they readily viewed my photos of my bread and cookies I make. Lots of great choices on the cookie front (bread, pastas, cheese and more). The cookies are good and we left with several pounds. I recommend a visit.
Jal M — Google review
Even if you don’t watch King of the Hill, you can still visit the king of The Hill’s dessert scene: right here at Vitale’s What makes them the king you ask? The cookies were good, but the cakes were absolutely magical. The German chocolate cake I had here was so much better than the German chocolate cake I had from a German bakery earlier this week, it was like putting prime Albert Pujols in a batting competition vs your run-of-the-mill high school JV baseball player. And when I took my first bite into the Tartufo, I saw hallucinations of an Italian flag and I began singing the Italian national anthem in the middle of the store, even though I don’t know a lick of Italian. But buyers beware: these cakes are fit for a king. They’re extremely rich, just like any king would be. Don’t let that scare you away completely, as they have fruitier options which I didn’t try which are likely a little less decadent. German chocolate cake & tartufo > angin > lemon drop

I traveled to St. Louis for a birthday party and ordered a tiramisu cake from Angie. We dropped it off at a restaurant where we were to have dinner the next day and then those plans were changed due to foreseen circumstances. We moved the cake to our hotel downtown and had a wonderful sunset birthday party. It was the most fluffy and light cake I have ever ate and most are so rich you can barely have but a small piece, we were able to eat almost The entire cake but saved a few pieces for coffee in the morning. Not only was it the most family oriented birthday, but also Angie was like speaking with my own grandmother. She told me exactly what to do with the cake and how to save it. If there is any left, there was not. I will be visiting these sweet people every time I pass to St. Louis for the rest of my life. And more than likely, I will eat a whole cake. Love yall …….Sammy Luv

A tiny quaint, much authentic Italian bakery in the Hill region. They have tons of baked goodies and fresh pasta, pasta sauce, ravioli, cheese etc. we bought a boxful cookies and a cannoli. This is the best cannoli so far I have ever tasted. The cookies are rather mediocre and usual. Some cookies are fine, but most of them have a strong artificial aroma/ essence, which I don’t like. Overall, a very nice place to stop by.

McArthur's Bakery is a St. Louis bakery that specializes in delicious cake and icing recipes. Their cakes are always fluffy and moist, and their customers love the unique flavor combinations that they offer. The bakery is owned by locals, who deliver only the best baked goods to customers in the area.
I hadn't been to this bakery in a long time, as it's out in the county. This was our go-to bakery for birthday cakes by us and all our friends. The cake was vanilla with Strawberry & Custard filling with a whipped cream icing that everyone loved. Since I was out that way, I decided to stop in as I had a sweet tooth today. The staff was warm and welcoming when u walked in, along with asking if they could help me. I started browsing the cases and found numerous new items that were never on my radar. Boy, oh boy, was I in heaven, everything looked so darn delicious 😋 😍 I chose 2 strawberries with lemon bread pudding cakes. Now, the next one, I'm not going to be able to explain by name. It has chocolate chips, and I think they are gooey butter cakes. Now the last one is the same. I don't know the name, but its chocolate cake turned upside down and then drizzled with chocolate. Once I taste them, I will let you know for sure. My favorite once spied it was the cherry stolen. It's one of the best-looking ones I've seen anywhere in years. So, of course, I had to have it as well. More to come once I've tasted these delicious looking baked goods. If you've never tried this bakery, stop in and support this locally-owned business that's been catering to the community since 1956! Did I mention there is a sandwich shop & ice cream parlor in there too. If you can't satisfy your appetite here, I'm not sure if my reviews can help you out, as I won't post unless I feel it's a fabulous spot for all to try. Delicious, tasty, satisfying place to get food, sweets, and yes, ice cream, wow!

I picked up a one layer carrot cake for Mother’s Day. After cutting into it to serve it plan to it was has icing. They obviously skimp on the cake mix and make it bigger and more dramatic by laying heavy with the cheaper icing. I won’t be going back.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that was the best turtle frappe (salted caramel and chocolate) I've ever had, and it wasn't too expensive (<$6). It was even served in a nice mason jar with a toooon of whipped cream that didn't get all nasty and melty as I slowly drank it. This place is the perfect place to grab a drink, relax, meet a friend, or get some work done on your own. I didn't partake of anything from the bakery, but I hear it's unbeatable.

McArthur's Bakery was our wedding cake vendor. Not only are their flavors mouth watering, but their designs are timeless and beautiful. We stuck with the traditional white wedding cake flavor and us (and our guests) loved it. We opted for a two tier wedding cake with some sheet cakes to be cut in the back - this is definitely the way to go. We plan to have them recreate a smaller version of our cake on our 1 year anniversary. We also opted to have a grooms cake. He chose one of their star wars prints on a marble cake - also delicious. I had received a few quotes from other bakeries on cakes but McArthur's had the most reasonable pricing for our moderate budget while still tasting like heaven.

First, I ordered a cake for pickup (German chocolate single layer) and it was ready for pickup at the wrong location. It was delivered to the correct Kirkwood location and I arrived excited to try the amazing cake! That part wasn’t a big deal but I repeated the pickup location 3-4 times on the phone when ordering the cake. Second, I get home and the cake looked beautiful. It was purchased to celebrate my father’s PHD program completion! German chocolate cake is his absolute favorite! However, what a disappointment!!! We cut into the cake only to have it crumble into small pieces and literally fall apart. The only part of the cake we could eat was the frosting which was okay. The coconut was pretty hard and my son could barely chew it. It seemed as if I was given an old cake because I ordered 3-4 days before my scheduled Saturday pickup. I was informed it’s better to order ahead so it can be ready on time when I called with my questions. I will say, I contacted the bakery a few times and no call back (even after I left this detailed voicemail). I had to find another bakery on a Saturday that had a cake for pickup at such short notice…and it wasn’t easy. It’s really sad that no one called me back or cared to apologize for the “old” cake I was given. It is no way possible that the cake was fresh or even just a few days old. It crumbled into small pieces as soon as I tried to cut it. I will not recommend purchasing a cake or placing pickup so many days before to avoid this situation. If you can’t buy the cake made fresh- I wouldn’t risk it. Also the online pictures don’t really look like the cake you pickup but I gave it a shot anyway. Very upset with the quality of cake. For the prices.. we want to be able to enjoy the cake and not have to trash it due to the texture and taste being on the “not so great” side. It’s unacceptable.

McArthur's did a glorious job with our event cake. Even though it was not something they had done before, Pat and her team worked with us to take inspiration photos and a description into reality. The cake looked beautiful and received many compliments on its taste. They were also flexible and accommodating with us regarding the delivery window. Job well done!

I called the week of to order a custom smash cake for my baby’s first birthday party when my other dessert plan fell through. The lady I spoke with to take my order was so friendly and helpful! I got a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and paid a bit extra for the baker to design their own creation (rodeo theme). Super easy pick up the morning of the party. Turned out adorable! Baby LOVED it and the photos are my favorite.

Wonderful to find that McArthur’s bakery has my favorite cake: an amoretto cake with raspberry filling. Yum! I was able to pick up one large slice that I took home and have been sharing with my husband. I also got a couple donuts. The staff person was very helpful. She even looked up a specific ingredient on the ice cream that I have a food sensitivity to. Thank you!

The Gelateria Coffee Company is a small, cozy coffeehouse that sells gelato, coffee and pastries. The shop's specialty is hand-made gelato made with fresh ingredients, and the store rotates its flavors daily. It's a great place to relax and enjoy some delicious Italian snacks after a long day of work or school.
The Gelateria is a huge coffee shop hangout spot on S Grand on the Southside. If you are looking for a coffee or some gelato then this is definitely a place you should check out. They have plenty of seating, main floor and upstairs. I recommend this coffee shop to any and everybody. Plus a seasonal patio.

The coffee was just fine , lets get that straight. Good cup coffee , the price was pretty good too. The atmosphere was a homerun. Friendly staff. The music was at a perfect level for enjoying and for those who came to chat. The crowd was diverse and the pizza looked great .. looked .. I did not try it, so I cant suggest it. The desserts also looked amazing. Go there for a 1st coffee date. It's charming.

I had a wonderful time at this place! I grabbed a coffee and ice cream during a breakfast date with my husband. The staff were super friendly, and the patio was a great spot to read and relax.

Although crowded, more so upon leaving, the vibe was collegiate. This two story coffee house offered a good cup of coffee and pastries. One can sit and imagine the families that may have resided there from days gone by. I did not try the Gelato, maybe next time. If you are tired of the big chain coffee places, give The Gelateria a try.

Some of the friendliest cafe workers I have ever met! The chocolate chip cookie is one of the best I’ve ever had. The coffee menu is on the traditional side but the baristas are very flexible with accommodations, the upstairs is a good place to study and hang out

We ordered cappuccino and the spot of sunshine herbal tea. Both were well prepared, above and beyond expectations. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Many happy laptops around us. Books and games available. Comfortable seats. We didn’t have any food, but the pastries looks amazing. Gelato was available too.

The atmosphere of this place is rustic and cozy. Their customer service was friendly and upbeat; love the vibes! The Honey Lavender latte was by far my favorite; so smooth and frothy -- rich and delicious! I tried the Lemon Lavender gelato as well as the Butterscotch and to be honest I expected them to be a bit more sweet, but they were still good. Love the different varieties and unique flavor options. But personally, I enjoyed the coffee more than I did the gelato ☕🔥

I loved this place! Service is really good, everyone is kind and eager to take your order. I got a cortado and as an exigent coffee lover I must say it was quite good. The ambient was cozy and relaxed, definetely will be back. Great prices too. Editing to add that I went back yesterday and tried the gelato, very good!! They also had these incredibly good looking focaccias that I didn’t try, but will be my excuse for going a 3rd time!

The Sweet Divine is a charming dessert shop located in the historic Soulard neighborhood. This boutique bakery offers an array of delectable treats, including custom cakes, ready-made cupcakes, and other pastries. One of their standout items is the award-winning Drunken Pig cupcake, featuring Newcastle Beer, bacon, and cheddar. With 15 daily flavors to choose from, such as Cherry Garcia, Banana Split, and Butterfinger cupcakes, there's something for every sweet tooth.
We chose The Sweet Divine to cater the desserts for our wedding and we are so happy we did! They made our beautiful wedding cake plus cookies, donuts, cupcakes, cakesicles, and choc covered strawberries! Our guests loved them - everything was delicious! The planning process was great as well - they made it super easy to pick what we wanted and they had so many great options!

We LOVED our wedding cake! The Sweet Divine did an excellent job executing my vision for our cake. The design was so beautiful, the cake was delivered on time, and was very delicious. My only feedback is that the communication for booking wedding services could be a little better - but we do understand that our wedding was during peak season which is why we didn't want to dock stars for that! The strawberry cake was not my favorite, as it wasn't as rich as we would've liked, but the salted caramel and vanilla layers were DELICIOUS. We will definitely use The Sweet Divine in the future. They are my new favorite cake shop!

Where do I even begin? When my husband and I were planning our wedding we struggled with cake. He apparently despises cake and would prefer brownies in stead. I chuckled at the idea of nixing a cake and offered to find an alternative that we both absolutely adored: pavlova. Pavlova is delicate meringue with cream and some sort of fruit. I had a vision of incorporating this dessert as a topper to a tiered funfetti cake and serving mini pavlovas for those interested in trying. This was not an easy find in St. Louis until I chatted with Sweet Divine. They were immediately on board and worked with us to not only create the cake of our dreams but incorporate our florals which featured figs and other seasonal fruits. Sweet Divine baked up the most scrumptious desserts and it looked amazing. Out of all of our wedding photos, a picture of the cake is my phone background. Aside from the deliciousness and gorgeous design, this bakery was organized from start to finish, easy to work with, very communicative and reasonable in price.

UPDATE: the Sweet Divine is still a must whenever I am in town. The cupcakes are always moist and tasty. This cupcake shop remains my favorite in STL. REVIEW FROM 5 YEARS AGO: This is the best cupcake shop in St. Louis! My favorite flavor is vanilla ecstasy. I ordered a dozen cupcakes as desert for my graduation lunch and everyone loved them. I also ordered 2 custom made cupcakes for my sister's birthday 2 years ago and we still talk about how great they tasted. Can't wait for the shop to reopen.

We tried sooo many cakes when selecting a baker for my daughter’s wedding cake. The Sweet Divine is not only delicious and beautiful, but the creativity in flavors is phenomenal! One of the two flavors my daughter chose was an apple spice cake but she wanted more cinnamon for a holiday feel. Along with the salted caramel icing, it was to die for! If you have not tried The Sweet Divine, it’s worth blowing your New Year’s resolution already!

Located in the Central West End, Northwest Coffee Roasting is not your average coffee joint. The spacious patio provides a perfect spot to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and pastries while soaking up the crisp autumn air. This hidden gem offers a unique roasting process that brings out subtle flavors and sweetness in their coffee.
This place is incredible - drinks, food, and people. This place makes me wish I lived in St. Louis. The chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. I’m so glad I felt pulled to order it. Though, I’m sure all the other food is amazing as well. The chai is by far one of the best I’ve ever had, and the peach latte is one the best coffees I’ve ever had. The espresso and oat milk were perfect. My boyfriend seconded all of this. We’ve had great coffee in New York City, Louisville, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Austria, France, Spain, and this cafe is a *huge* standout for how wonderful everything is. If we’re ever back in St. Louis, we’ll definitely be back here. Thank you all for such a lovely place.

It's a cozy spot next to Scarlett's Wine Bar. I imagine the open air format would be great on slightly cooler days. My coffee was decent. Friendly service from staff who genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. My only complaint is that the WiFi was spotty. Not sure if it was a matter of signal strength or if the router was overloaded. Not a place I'd go if I wanted to get some work done - not necessarily a bad thing, as we all need to disconnect from time to time. Definitely a good place to sit and chat with a friend over coffee and pastries on a mild day.

Cute coffee shop. Quite a bit of seating even in winter thanks to a covered patio with heat lamps. We had three coffees and three egg wraps. They have a combo both for 8.50, plus 50¢ for a little dollop of (Costco) salsa. Which we thought was a fine deal (though the salsa was a little eh). The drip coffee was good. You could taste the greenness, it was light roast and very smooth. The egg wraps were yummy, but a little dry and the edges of the tortillas were hard. Almostttt good, just need a fresher tortilla and maybe some cheese or something? The filling was good. The atmosphere on the covered patio was pretty good. They just need to spruce it up a bit with updating the chalk boards. Some string lights or something. The main guy working (owner?) was super nice. This is a good spot, really close to being a great one!

Mauhaus Cat Cafe is a delightful spot where visitors can enjoy the company of adoptable cats in a bright and cheerful space while savoring coffee and pastries. This cafe has become a beloved destination in St. Louis, offering an array of delectable French pastries and holiday treats that reflect the essence of community.
My friend and I made an appointment to visit on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately. As this was our first visit, we were given a brief orientation. After ordering our drinks, we went in to meet the kitties. It was a fun hour of petting cats and swapping stories about our own pets with others. When we left, my friend and I agreed that we both felt less stressed and more relaxed than we had been. We'll definitely visit again.

Wonderful experience! Cozy atmosphere, clean environment, wonderful staff. Made reservations online. It came with a complimentary beverage for making reservations online. Checked in quickly and had our wonderful cat experience. One hour wasn’t enough for my son, he wants to go back. We loved it!
Tammy V — Google review
Food, iced tea and coffee were ok, but, let's be real...we didn't go for those things. We went to see the kitty cats! First time visitors and had a lot of fun! Staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Cats were well cared for, one had an eye infection, when I asked about it, I was told they were treating it. Clean space for the type of place and the amount of cats!! Well laid out and lots of climbing and hiding spots for the cats. We will be back, highly recommend!
Kellee S — Google review
This was a cute little spot with some great little cats. We had come after a host of kiddos came in so that meant these little ones was tired and overstimulated. Although this was the case, they were still approachable and cute. The staff was kind and busy. They were working along with greeting guests and helping keep things cleaned. Keep in mind that these are cats so there is a little odor, however, I have to say this probably was one of cleanest places. The odor was very minimum which was amazing (I have a huge issue with smells, and it didn't bother me at all). Parking is a pain but that's not their fault. Plan on packing a block away and walking to the main location. The menu was well priced. We did not try anything because it wasn't our goal, but from what others were enjoying, it looks great.
William H — Google review
Super cute place, love the atmosphere with the kitties and the service. I wasn't a huge fan of the food or drinks, but that was definitely just my tastes. It was very catered to vegan/gluten free, which is awesome for those people, but that's just not me. The hot chocolate was okay, but I was there for the kitties and they were so sweet!
Rachel M — Google review
Absolutely adorable cat cafe! The scones were incredible and they offer many vegan and gluten free options. The beverages were stellar and made of locally sourced ingredients. But best of all, the cats were so friendly and the staff very kind and accommodating. No better way to drink coffee and have a snack than to support local cats and businesses in the process. Highly recommend.
Katheryn B — Google review
I set up our time slot ahead of time online and we got a drink to go with our visit. The pastries we ordered with the online discount were reasonably priced and very delicious. The cats seem happy and well loved, a few are a bit spicy but as a cat owner myself I just leave them be if they are overwhelmed. Wide range of cat personalities present, but all of them fluffy and adorable. I will probably come again!

The food is not perfect, but server we had was great, super nice and sweet. This five star is for her. The house blend is super bitter, I put 2 bag of sugar it still bitter. Last time I got cappuccino, that is super good! Mimosa is good especially drink with Sweet Potato Hash, the sour of Mimosa can off set the sweetness.

10/10 breakfast, 10/10 cookies & the macrons go to 11! As far as brunch experiences go, this was in my top 5 for STL. They tic all the boxes, bottomless coffee, heavy and light options, pastries that vary in style and flavor, open seating and great staff to take care of you. I tried the southwest skillet, and it’s a pretty hearty meal. The flavor from the egg yolks and chorizo that blends with the roasted potatoes to create a really enjoyable dish. The macrons are also a fantastic choice if you still have room after trying a cookie. Their flavors are on point, and the texture was perfection. Parking can be tough on weekends, so don’t give up if it’s hard to find a spot quickly. It’s worth the wait.

This was my 1st time here & it was my birthday so it was such a pleasant atmosphere and the young lady at the counter that took our order was extremely professional and accurate with or order. I love tea but the coconut tea that I had with the lavender honey syrup add-on was AMAZING! My sister had the Latte w/the Lavender honey syrup as well. I ordered the Avocado with 2 scrambled eggs and my sister had the turkey but with Buffalo cauliflower. All AMAZINGLY done! Great Harvest Bread Co. is a Montana-based bakery specializing in whole-grain breads and muffins. The bakery's offerings are preservative free, they mill their own flour, and they use traditional recipes, resulting in breads with a soft texture and a sweetness that set it apart from other breads on the market.
Very welcoming staff, they want you to sample their offerings. Tasty products
Max C — Google review
A loaf of bread that costs $9.55 should taste good if not great. The texture of the high fiber bread I got was poor and it tasted almost stale. I got sourdough and marbled rye in the past and they tasted below my expectations too but I decided to visit a third time because I kept hearing good things from others. This is one of those many overpriced and overrated places in Saint Louis that get endorsed and hyped up by so many people for reasons that are unknown to me. And please stop comparing everything to California! This is not California. A mediocre bread like this should taste no more than $4 in Saint Louis. The set up and ambiance are great, especially because it’s attached to a great coffee shop but definitely not worth making a special trip to buy something from here.
Shilpa S — Google review
When I want fresh bread, I always come here. She also sells the sourdough bread starters on Thursdays and always willing to explain how she makes her breads, what’s new, and even lets you try ‘em. Very personable as well. Favorite bakery!!!
Jeanette W — Google review
I am giving two stars instead of one for the friendliness and quick service of the staff. My companion and I did not experience any problems in these areas. However, the food itself was just not great. We were surprised at how not good the bread was in our sandwiches considering bread is what does company does. On top of this the sandwich ingredients were very basic with no wow factor at all, I could have easily made something better than this at home, even the bread part. The only redeeming quality was the bacon on the sandwhich was the best part, the staff (as mentioned previously), and the fact that this bread co. is attached to the coffee shop, which is pretty cool! Would return to the coffee shop but not to the bread co. unfortunately.

Baked in-site, the baked goods have a wide array of flavors and grains. Walking in makes you want to break out the butter and jam. Nice coffee bar (La Cosecha Coffee Roasters) up front (roast their own beans). Very quaint, very homey.

I picked up some goodies for my coworkers at Cheryl’s Herbs down the street. I was worried at first, because even though the coffee in the front of the store smelled delightful, neither one of their employees greeted me or acknowledged me. Once I walked past the coffee counter, which I believe is a separate business, the rest of the whole experience was delightful. From the samples the gentleman that helped me offered as soon as I stepped up, to the very appreciative and genuine “thank you” as I left with my order. I even bought more than I planned just because of his service. Customer Service goes a long way!!!

This bakery is right inside a cafe and offers many healthy options of bread. The owner was very friendly and passionately offered me some samplings of their breads. Donut shop
Vincent Van Doughnut is a popular food truck in St. Louis known for its jumbo-sized, creatively flavored doughnuts. The truck, housed in a 1960 Ford Grumman Olson step van named Clyde, offers decadent flavors like maple bacon and caramel with toasted coconut. The success of the mobile operation led to the owner's appearance on Cooking Channel's Donut Showdown.
When I first came here a few weeks ago they were closed because they had sold out so this time I came earlier and they still had a few that were sold out, but I got six different donuts and I got a good variety of them and wow, the quality amazed me. They are very filling and so flavorful. I really like this cute donut shop and I highly recommend everyone tries it at least once and make sure to get there in the morning. The workers are also very friendly and will help make recommendations!!
Sunny P — Google review
Friendly staff and a minimalist yet inviting atmosphere. I love the long table by the window…perfect for people watching. I ordered an unsweetened latte, and it was excellent: bold, strong coffee flavor that wasn’t overpowered by the whole milk. Just the right amount of foam-like Goldilocks, not too much, not too little, but just right. I also got a vanilla and a chocolate donut. Both were soft, airy, and fluffy with a slightly crisp bottom, the kind you only get from freshly made donuts. The smell of fried dough was absolutely intoxicating. I preferred the vanilla, but both were amazing. The chocolate icing wasn’t overly sweet, had a low melting point, and added just the right amount of chocolate flavor without overpowering the donut. The vanilla was slightly sweeter, with icing that held up better (higher melting point). I do wish it had a stronger vanilla flavor, but it still hit the spot. I paid $11 and some change for everything, and it was well worth it. Highly recommend you visit!

I want to come back earlier in the day to get a feel for full selection. I strolled in on a Saturday around 1030am. Great friendly service. The peanut donut was the winner for us. The cookie dough donut was great topping wise, but felt dry underneath. But that peanut butter one was top notch through and through.

Great vibes from the jump — small shop, clearly run by people who know exactly what they’re doing. Gourmet, unique, and confident without trying too hard. We came in with our 4-year-old, who spotted a donut pen on the counter. The woman working immediately slid him a pad of paper so he could use it — a small gesture, but the kind of hospitality you remember. That gave us a moment to take in the case: donuts that looked so good you almost break a sweat deciding. Then Mike came out — jovial, rocking a Hawaiian flowered hat, the kind of guy you instantly want to hang out with. He noticed the other coffee we had in hand, and when we told him it was disappointing, he looked genuinely pained. Then he poured us a couple of drips from his Sump partnership — and suddenly, faith restored. The donuts? Out of this world. Fluffy, perfectly sweet, balanced. More than dessert — they were an experience. We’re only in town two days, and we’ll be back tomorrow. That’s how good it was. In a world where hospitality feels like it’s disappearing, places like this stand out. Genuine, welcoming, unforgettable!
Dave K — Google review
Some of the nicest people l've met in St. Louis so far! I really enjoyed each of the doughnuts I got, they were amazing! It's a very comfortable place to have a doughnut and coffee and relax . Cookies & cream, blueberry cheesecake, and lemon custard cheesecake. There was a glazed chocolate but that didn't survive the walk home...
Jeramy — Google review
We were driving by on our way to the Botanical Garden and spotted this fantastic donut shop. Not only did the donut taste amazing but the service was incredible. Seriously, the donuts are handmade everyday from fresh ingredients and you can tell the difference. By the time we got there they were almost sold out of everything so you might want to get there a little earlier than 10:30 to have more variety, but even if you don't, you can't go wrong with whatever they have in store.
Chantal H — Google review
If you’re gluten free and are super excited to find a donut you can eat— don’t be lol. Sadly, they are the consistency of a muffin or a sweet bread in the shape of a donut (and wayyyyy too sweet). Not cake style, not airy yeast style, just sadness.

Me and my little girl tied a half a dozen donuts this afternoon. They were amazing! We went to Dunkin' donuts directly after and were seriously disappointed; at the doughy generic unimpressive comparison. Save your time, money and tastes buds and just go to Eddie's, you won't be disappointed. The old-fashioned donuts, & the carmel/chocolate/brittle were our favorites. We will definitely be back! They were light fluffy and full of yumminess!

I stopped in to Eddie's after hearing about his shop on the STL Donut & Coffee Tour YouTube channel. I got there right when they opened and bought a dozen. I heard he had one of the best apple fritters in the city, and I was not disappointed. They were the perfect combo of crispy and chewy, topped with delicious glaze that permeated every nook and crannie. It's definitely one of the best around! The old fashioned was also a highlight. It was perfect for dunking in my coffee. The sprinkled cake donut was outstanding, as was the glazed jelly. Eddie was super nice, and the price was the best I've seen around town. The donuts were fantastic, I highly recommend giving Eddie's a try!

I am not exaggerating: these are in the top three donuts I've ever eaten. Eddie himself is amazing--the man works hard and that place runs like clockwork. But then, take a look at that case. So much goodness. Everything fresh and made by hand. Incredible banter when you're getting your donuts. And then you take that bite: tender, very slight crunch outside, and a soft, pillowy interior, in both the raised and cake donuts. The fritters are to die for, too. Eat everything. This is a treasure. Hot tip: the twists are great and so are the long Johns. Bonus that the place is nut-free!

Many moons ago when I still lived in South City, Neosho St. to be precise, Saturday mornings I would go here and grab a dozen to take back home for my family. My sons really loved that tradition. Eddie always had a smile and a laugh when I would come in. Best donuts in my opinion. Glad to see he is still doing good and I definitely recommend his place for great donuts!

Dierbergs Markets - Mackenzie Pointe is a beloved grocery store known for its great atmosphere and unique selection of items. While some products may be pricier compared to other stores, the overall price point is only slightly higher. The store offers a wide range of services including a deli, bakery, cheese shop, sushi stand, Asian items to go, butcher, seafood counter, pharmacy, salon and vision center.
Biggest thing we like about Dierberg's is the much more calm and relaxed vibe as opposed to Schnuck's. You will pay more, but sometimes its worth it to not be in the middle of the Thunderdome. Potentially the best produce in town and very clean. Parking lot isn't a jungle either. They also have a great selection of Whole 30 approved foods.
Matt A — Google review
This location is clean and organized, my local store and I go daily. Two big complaints on my end. First is the crazy overpricing of one of your cooled drinks, the brand Koia protein drinks. I used to buy these daily as a morning snack. I could tell the sales patterns on this item. They used to be priced around 4 dollars, now they are 2 dollars more at a bonkers $6.19. This is about 2 dollars more than any other competitors\stores, including Fresh Thyme, Whole Foods, and even Starbucks. If Starbucks is pricing an item cheaper than you then you know something is wrong. Back when the price was around 4 dollars the Vanilla flavor would almost always be sold out, now it looks like they're always in stock fully. Sometimes these go on sale and then you price them around 4 dollars even though that's actually the regular price everywhere else. Whoever is doing your inventory management really needs to do a better job, I doubt you're selling this item very well now. The other complaint is please keep your clerks from engaging in aggressive political conversations. There is one older lady clerk there that constantly is bringing up uncomfortable and unwanted talks with customers about "illegal aliens" and other related topics. This is extremely unprofessional. There has been times where her line was clearly delayed and moving slower because she asked every new customer what they thought about illegal aliens, and the customer in front of me was clearly annoyed and trying to get going. The clerk stopped scanning items and was waiting for an engagement about the topic from that customer, and then repeated the same exact situation with me. Whether I agree with her opinion or not, a grocery clerk is there to do a job and not chit chat about politics. I'm sure you know which clerk I'm talking about since I've seen this happen several times.

It’s a gorgeous store don’t get me wrong but the layout/organization of everything is where it should be re-done. I went in looking for Benadryl for a rash but it was no where to be found. The signs above the sections were not helpful since they didn’t have one for allergies or any symptoms of that sort. It was under the kids medicine section which made no sense. I would also suggest having workers on duty to be there to help customers. I looked down numerous aisles to find no workers at either end. Overall, the store is beautiful but the layout is where it needs to be re-evaluated.
Owen M — Google review
Well, it's a million times better than Walmart (not much of an accomplishment these days), and better than Schnucks as far selection since Schnucks stopped carrying several products recently and jacked up their prices more, but you need to check the expiration dates on things like yogurt (just mistakenly bought some that expires TONIGHT, and that shouldn't have been on the shelves) and check the berries for mold. One time an employee was restocking the blackberries and the "new" ones he was putting out were moldier than the old ones. Their staff needs to check those things - mold on products and expired items. Not that any other store in the area does any better.... Prices are about the same as Schnucks and it tends to be cleaner and have a better selection/more variety.

Fresh Thyme Market is a delightful grocery destination that stands out in the bustling CWE neighborhood, surrounded by other popular stores like Schnuck's and Whole Foods. My recent visit to their location at The Foundry in Saint Louis was nothing short of impressive. The store boasts a bright and organized layout, making it easy to navigate through an extensive selection of fresh, organic, and locally sourced products. Health-conscious shoppers will appreciate the variety of gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly options available.
I love Fresh Thyme Market! I Finally visited the one at The Foundry in Saint Louis and it offers a bright, well-organized shopping experience with a great selection of fresh, organic, and locally sourced products. They offer a good variety of healthy options, including gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly items. The store also has a nice selection of prepared foods. Convenient parking is available outside, making it easy to stop by for quality groceries. I am impressed!

This has become our favorite grocery store in the city. They always have great sales going on, delicious produce at reasonable prices, and very friendly staff. They even have a lounge area where you can enjoy your deli items or heat up your food in their microwave, with charging ports and a water bottle filling station all free to use so long as you support their business. Most of their items are fair trade or otherwise ethically sourced. I appreciate this place a lot and have gotten to know the staff. It is important to support local businesses now more than ever.

Abby and DeAndre are so helpful, kind and always take good care of the customers! I see them almost every time I come in and they are so welcoming and warm! Thank you both for all that you do! You make Fresh Thyme my favorite store :)

Do not waste your money on the produce here!!!! After four years of shopping here out of convenience I am done. Almost always, rotten produce is sitting around. Terrible quality control (the fish is suspect as well). Even when you get some that looks good it is a constant issue with it only lasting a few days at the house. So annoying! Not to mention the only option they offer is self checkout. Not interested in paying for rotten goods and bagging my own groceries anymore.

A very nice, "higher-end" local grocery store, i.e. higher quality produce and other products, specialty items, etc. A smaller store but still a good selection of most mainline products. Very clean store with a welcoming environment.

Cool place. Its easiest to park at 3700 Forest Park Ave... And they seem a little cheaper than Whole Foods down the street. They just have to get my Organic Whole Wheat pie crust and I might become a regular.

Boogyz Donuts is a must-visit spot in St. Louis, offering a clean and safe environment with convenient parking right in front. The donut selection is top-notch, featuring standout options like the Sour Cream (or Old-fashioned), Vanilla Glazed, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The Sour Cream donut impresses with its generous size, dense texture, and delightful glaze that permeates the thick pastry.
Clean, safe, parking right in front, and hoowee, the donuts!! I got three: the Sour Cream (or Old-fashioned), which is always my “gauge“ of a shop, a Vanilla Glazed and their Cinnamon Toast Crunch. All were fantastic. The Sour Cream was everything it should be, big and dense , the glaze soaking into the thick donut. It was a little crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and gooey where the two met, and OMG! The Vanilla Glazed donut had some toothiness to it (instead of just being mouthful of air) which I love, but the best thing was the vanilla glaze. It was thick and a little chewy, and well, it actually had vanilla in i!! I could smell it and I could taste it explode on my tongue - it wasn’t just a pile of sugar on top like at some places. So good! The Cinnamon Toast Crunch cake donut had “real“ Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top, and it seemed that there was cinnamon inside, too, as even without the topping it reminded me of the good old days of eating that cereal. Totally delightful! I have passed this place several times, always seemingly at the wrong time of day (they close at 2) or I’m not in the mood for donuts, or.....something. Finally today everything aligned and I got to have some really awesome donuts. Even if it seems a little bit out of your way, go! You’ll be happy that you did.

Located at the end of a small strip mall near the park, they have amazingly good donuts. Tuesdays now offer vegan options but sell out quick! The apple fritter, red velvet donut and blueberry donuts are definitely ones to try. They offer everything from glazed to numerous creme filled options. And of course the staff is friendly, helpful and eager to make sure you get everything whole trying something new
Chris M — Google review
We stopped by late morning after a recommendation from a friend. The donuts did not disappoint! The staff was helpful and friendly with suggestions. The variety of interesting toppings definitely is exciting. Their donuts are definitely denser than cheaper donuts that you get elsewhere. We will be back for sure.
Vito W — Google review
Just tried a bite out of all 6 my wife brought home, she was very excited bc they told her it was a fresh batch - if this is a fresh batch, this place has problems. I want to support new businesses, but not one was good. The old-fashioned was overcooked, the glazed had no taste and was dense to the point of being chewy in the middle, their chocolate icing is grainy and without flavor, and both filled donuts had way to little filling for how tasteless the the rest of the donut wound up being. This is a town full of great donut shops, y'all need to do better. 7-11 would have been a better stop.

Patty's Cheesecakes, founded by Pat Upchurch, is a delightful tribute to her family legacy, inspired by her father and grandmother. This charming bakery offers an array of luxuriously creamy cheesecakes in both petite and whole sizes. With flavors that range from timeless classics like original and chocolate to inventive options such as banana pudding and strawberry champagne, there's something for everyone. The menu also features monthly rotating flavors available in slice form or as adorable 2-inch rounds—perfect for sampling!
I love love loved the key lime cheese cake! We had blueberry and a Carmel brownie cheesecake as well. It’s situated in the fun food court. About 4$ for the mini cheesecakes. For me that’s all I need!

We got patty's cheesecame for my sister's engagement party. It was carry out but we had no issues getting the order. The cake itself went over well, but several people at the party found the cake to be too sweet and the granules/clusters of sugar to be too much.

I HIGHLY recommend Patty's Cheesecakes! Once you try it, there's no going back - it's undeniably, absolutely delicious! The lemon cheesecake is my favorite, and I suggest you give it a try. If you can do a custom order, ask for extra lemon filling on top - trust me, it's a GAME CHANGER!

I tried a slice of gooey butter cheesecake from here one day while exploring the food hall. The textures were on point! It was rich, smooth, and not overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, they have a great-looking selection of cheesecakes that rotate monthly. They also sell minis, so you can try variety without getting a whole slice. Off the strength of one visit, I can tell this is a lovable place!

Ugh, this pains me to write. I wanted to love this place sooo much. Love supporting small businesses but I just can’t recommend this. The whole experience was wrong. I ordered a cake online, tried calling/emailing/sending a form on the website to confirm that the order was good to go, especially because it said pending on order status. Only heard from owner day of pickup. So communication is just not there. I’ve had gluten free/vegan items from places all over and this just wasn’t it. Bought the super cute rainbow cake for my kids birthday. We have been eating vegan/gluten free for years due to allergies and I was thrilled to find a shop that we could order from. The cake, however, was an odd texture and tasted slightly like pretzel. The icing was sweet and delicious and it looked so pretty but the whole thing ended up in the trash. Unfortunately no one at the party finished their cake slice.

I’ve been a vegan for many years and am not picky about my sweets, but the cakes I’ve had from here are always…off. Dry and crunchy with a beany under taste. I wish them the best but some sort of new recipe is needed to sell these to the public. Definitely listen to these other reviews. It’s only maybe worth the visit if you’re the small, small, fraction of the population that is both gluten free and vegan.

3/5. As of June 26 2025, We’ve been coming here for a year. My gluten free kids 7,8,10 have had great luck showing Sundays between 1230 and 1:30, so impressed with quality and variety, Alex is a wonderful person, the whole in-shop experience is such a treat for us, however don’t place special orders Pros— Prioritized Pastries bakes the most delicious and best variety of GF products in St Louis; Alex is so welcoming and interesting; things are reasonably priced and well portioned Cons— after placing an order in person 3 weeks in advance and following up on instagram 1.5 weeks out, shocked by PP’s failure to deliver on my daughter’s birthday cake for her 10th birthday, it was hard to see my kids so disappointed; hours are not reliable or updated regularly in google maps ; hard to get ahold of (tried email, calling, stopping by in person, had luck once using instagram) Recommendations — improve organization ; consumers should use caution when placing special orders with PP, have a solid back up plan ; PP may consider having a system to organize orders and verbally follow up confirming details with customers 24-48 hours prior to pick up date ; update hours on google and pick up your phone line :) Summary — Show up Sunday at 1p and get yourself a treat but be prepared to try again next weekend if they’re closed…you won’t regret it!

One word “Disappointed” I ordered a custom cake for my wedding, which was a two layer cake that was heart shaped. The communication from the owner for ordering the cake, was simply nonexistent. I had to follow up many times, with trying to get an invoice and just wanted to confirm my cake was going to be ready for my wedding day. With no responses, I was desperate to ensure I had a cake for my wedding, so I reached out on Instagram DMs, no answer. Then finally commented on a post and finally got an answer, weeks later. My wedding planner went to pick up the cake on the day of my wedding, the cake wasn’t ready. Which was totally fine because it was finished and picked up later in enough time. However, I was severely disappointed with how the cake turned out. The cake was a heart shaped cake, lemon with lemon filling, decorative icing all one color. The cake was dry, hardly any lemon filling, there was a godly awful amount of frosting which led to the cake/frosting to collapse. Flavor was just honestly bland and not good. Seemed like it was just a rushed order and there wasn’t any care put into it. Even the piping of the frosting was disappointing and not pretty, as I was hoping. Thankfully not the whole cake collapsed, so my planner hid the collapsed part from guests and photos. Was super excited to order from here as it’s local and I’m vegan, but I’ve made better cakes at home and could save $90. I attached photos of the cake, not sure if you can see the collapsed frosting in the photo. Overall, I was severely disappointed and will not be spending anymore money at this business.

This place is awesome. My order was made precisely and on time, the staff were very friendly, and they were quick to answer any questions i had. The cake was delicious, and thats coming from a person that enjoys dairy and gluten and all the other ingredients of which one that would require a cake like this cant enjoy. 5 stars all around, and i highly recommend everyone give it a try!

I had given up on birthday cake due to very bad bloating. I have gotten accustomed to just watching everyone else eat cake at celebrations. This year I turned 40 and it just seemed wrong to not have a cake even if all I ate was a razor thin slice and paid a price for it. I ordered the cake and picked it up from Alex. I told her she IS THE gluten free and vegan cake maker in STL and she told me it is her mission for everyone to be able to have cake. I almost teared up when she said this - I have been so isolated from so many things due to dietary restrictions. It is so incredible to have someone care so much and work so hard to make food so I can be included - any food I can eat is good, but her cakes are DELICIOUS. PUNCH LINE: Alex's cake didn't make me bloated! This is a small miracle. I LOVED her cake and I felt great after eating it. I could hug Alex right now! I didn't want a super sugary cake and she recommended her pumpkin cake. Oh my god it was good! A 6 in, 3 layer cake - it looked small but it was so dense and thick it lasted 3 people over a week... LOL. It was the weight of a bowling ball. My parents and husband are not restricted with their diets and they loved the cake. I was prepared to have cake I could eat, but I was not prepared for everyone to also love it and not just put up with it. The cherry on top! :-D Top Favorite Things to Note: 1. Alex's flour doesn't have almonds in it like the other bakeries in town (I am allergic to almonds). 2. You can request soy-free icing (she makes it with coconut instead and it just requires more vigilant refrigeration). The icing was SO GOOD. 3. At the time of this review, Alex takes a 7 day advance custom cake order (especially if you request soy-free icing) and you can pick it up at the shop between 10 am & 2 pm. Note: this is a two-woman show and so you coordinate a time to pick it up - there is no store front with extra staff (like some of the other review photos seem to show - the windows are papered over right now and they bring the cake out to your car when you pull up). Leave a few days to coordinate on cake type and size, etc via email or phone for the easiest experience. They are super helpful with questions and suggestions if you don't know what to do. She said she is working on a more detailed website but until then you can just work out flavors, icings, etc. She can do pretty much anything you want. 4. She very graciously accommodated my husband's request for way more text than any sane person would think might fit on a cake. (see photo. Thank you, Alex 😉) 5. You can sample her cosmic brownies (see photo), cookie cakes, muffins, cupcakes, breads, etc. at Fresh Thyme in the Foundry location in St. Louis. At the time of this writing she delivers on Fridays in the early afternoon and either Sunday or Monday. So check those days/times for fresh stock. My parents and I loved the cosmic brownies! They are mildly sweet with an amazing chocolate flavor. We'll be trying the cookie cake next. Alex - thank you for my wonderful 40th birthday pumpkin cake! Everyone raved about it! I will be getting more cake from you when I am town!!! <3 UPDATE: In this morning for the grand opening and WOW. Everything we’ve tried so far has been NEXT LEVEL. The banana caramel bundt cake was our favorite!! Moist and heavenly flavor… like a denser pound cake texture… I planned to request a special banana cake but this was so good I might just buy this (which Alex says is a staple going forward in the shop). Fresh fruit lemon tart was unbelievable. Lightly sweet with a crispy tart crust. Oreo cake was exactly like an Oreo, except with a delicate sweetness. Picked up a maple blondie and cosmic brownie for later. They also had zucchini chocolate bread and fresh fruit trifles and packaged cupcakes to go. YAYYYY Alex is back! 🥳

Wholesale bakery
Cham Bakery, established in 2014 by the Alderie family who relocated from Damascus to St. Louis, is renowned for its fresh and preservative-free pita bread. Initially a wholesale business, Cham Bakery now also caters to retail customers at local farmers' markets. Their offerings include outstanding pita bread suitable for creating Middle Eastern dishes at home. Customers praise their exceptional Zaatar bread and Cheese Pide, as well as their thin white and wheat pitas which are perfect for freezing.
My favorite farmer's market stand ever!!! Their bulgar salad and caramelized onion lentil rice are ABSOLUTELY amazing! My parents from Seoul (who flew in to visit me) were super blown away by their food too. They rated their food as th BEST and most memorable food they tasted in STL (which honestly says a lot about them since STL has lots of good restaurants).

I am always so excited to see Cham Bakery at the WashU Farmer's Market. The first time I went I spent quite a bit of money but not because they are expensive but because I bought a lot. The Zaatar bread, Cheese Pide are exceptional. (I would have taken a picture of the Pide I bought today but sadly it was gone too soon. No, I didn't drop it. I ate it. ) The pita was great, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was fantastic! The woman working the table is so polite and friendly. I believe her husband gets up early in the morning to bake. YES!! It's THAT fresh!! I'm looking forward to trying their hummus and other tasty morsels. I honestly can't recommend this food enough!!

These fine folks are known for their thin pita (white AND wheat options!), which I keep in my freezer all the time. Additionally, they make the best baba ganoush I’ve ever had, and their lentil and rice salad with caramelized onions and their bulgur salad and their tabbouleh are such great lunch options for work. Sweets? Fantastic! Traditional and creative pride, and za’atar bread? Perfect Farmers Market noms (find them at the Tower Grove Market, Boulevard Farmers Market on Sundays and Thursdays at Rockwell Beer Garden at Francis Park). This family business is truly one to support!

This is my new favorite place!! Our host, Sherrone, was an absolute sweetheart. She was professional, patient, and incredibly helpful to everyone in my group who came to decorate. I wish I could go back once a week just to decorate and hang out with the owner!! I truly cannot say enough good things about Cake Fusion, it is the best place for any type of group outing and 100% a five-star experience. Thank you so much for providing me and my group with a wonderful bonding experience we will never forget.

Our team had an exceptional experience at Cake Fusion. We chose this activity for our law firm's volunteer group, Holland Helping Hands, to have some fun in light of our annual team bonding day, and it was fantastic! We would highly recommend this wonderful, woman-owned business and will certainly be back. Thank you for curating such a pleasant and special experience for us!

We cannot say enough great things about our experience at Cake Fusion! I brought our 9-year-old daughter and Sherrone was so patient and kind in showing her all of the techniques that she wanted to try on the cake she was decorating. Our daughter was able to learn how to make the icing look tie-dye, created a chocolate drip topping, and made flowers on the top! They have hundreds of toppings to choose from, including candy, sprinkles, cookies, and more! It was such a unique and uplifting experience, and I would recommend it for kids or adults who are looking for a fun day! We will definitely be back!

I cannot speak highly enough about the cakes that I have received from Cake Fusion. She does a beautiful job from the cakes to the cupcakes and I've had both! The cupcakes were truly Gourmet and she went above and beyond our expectation. They really created something quite fantastic and the cake that we ordered for our anniversary was beautiful and she executed perfectly. My family looks forward to when we get to order cake from here because as my daughter says, it is so fresh I've not had a cake so moist and I do not know how she does it!

I cannot say enough positive things about this place! After having several bad experiences with other places I was very hesitant about blowing money on a cake but I am glad I did the cake that I ordered is above and beyond what I thought it would look it is absolutely gorgeous and I cannot wait till my daughters birthday tomorrow to Present her with this beautiful cake! Thank you Cake fusion for putting a smile on my face and excitement with your work into our hearts !

I came for a 10 year old's birthday party. The party was well organized and very educational, even for me. I didn't realize how simple it would be to teach young children how to make elaborate cupcake decorations. The owner is extremely nice and patient with the children. This is a great place for both adult and children parties. You will not be disappointed.

Love. So glad I found it. I saw one of the twin owners making little bitty playing cards decorations for a specialty cake. Oohh. And really Enjoyed my humus and goat cheese while creating my vision board in a pleasingly pretty atmosphere. ( Yes Clean bathrooms boo) I did not cupcake - Dang Diet 🙄🙄. But I was told by everyone else there - they are amazing can't wait to go back in a few dropped pounds and enjoy!

Ordered and picked up 10 trays of the bites and they were great! There was a slight mixup on pickup location, but the owner immediately sent someone to take our order to the other store. Very appreciative of this STL small business!

We ordered 50+ baby Louie’s (individual servings) for a conference and they were a huge hit. Debbie was so great. She incorporated our logo into the labels everything. They looked awesome! Great customer service and some of the best tasting gooey butter cake I’ve had.

The Gooey butter cake was very small and cost $8. Pretty expensive and not that impressive. The person working there was very friendly.
