PROs: Great service; grab a ticket number for service. Plenty to choose from. Designated parking for the business or there is street parking. Tasty pastries. Nostalgic bakery atmosphere, a place that seems the customers are known by their first name. CONs: A couple of pastries wasn't what I was expecting. Parking is slanted in; backing out of the lot can be a challenge. Tiramisu is a cake rather than lady finger cookies. It is missing that distinctive coffee taste of soaked lady finger cookies. The jelly fill in the Josephine pastry was bland. I look forward to another visit for the other pastries.

German chocolate cake > Chocolate chip cannoli > cinnamon roll > cookies > chocolate drill bit Even though they’re called Missouri Baking Co., I did not expect them to have every single type of dessert sold in Missouri! Even for the pickiest of dessert eaters, they’ll definitely have something that you’ll like. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the cookies, but their other baked goods were very enjoyable.

Wonderful bakery! We are visiting from Michigan and had to try the gooey butter cake and chocolate drop. We also purchased a slice of NY cheesecake and some macarons. All were EXCELLENT 😋 and the young ladies behind the counter were super nice and helpful!

I received recommendations from numerous individuals. It seems I had inadvertently selected the incorrect icing. Despite the time constraints, they were exceptionally accommodating. Their efforts were truly appreciated, the service was outstanding, and I would gladly recommend this establishment. It would be prudent to review the menu prior to ordering, which, admittedly, I did not do.

Brother made a trip to our favorite bakery today September 14 2025 Placed my order on custard puffs and he will get cheesecake most likely. Always a pleasure to stop at the bakery for fresh baked goods. Custard Puff was spectacular and the custard filled as usual the Puff nice crunchy and a touch of powdered sugar = Perfect Custard Puff! A friend of ours took us here and it was wonderful. Really nice family owned bakery, been there since 1924 I think. Everything we ordered was delicious. There are not many small family owned bakeries around, enjoy them while they are here. They are extra friendly, be sure to take a number when you get there. Be prepared to wait in line depending on when you get there. They have little short cupcakes that are delightful. I cannot remember what they are called though. Cuccidati is like a fig Newton on steriods.

LOVED wonderful bread and their atmosphere! Their staff was nice too. It was a nice experience to visit their bakery in the morning. Their chocolate croissant had beautiful layers. And I like that their bread was not crazy sweet. I want to go back to this nice bakery again.

I highly recommend ordering a cake from this bakery. I am not from St. Louis and do not live there, and I was planning a birthday celebration for my mother-in-law. La Pâtisserie Chouquette made the entire process easy! They responded to my inquiry almost immediately, and they put a lot of thought into the design of the cake by asking questions about my mother-in-law's hobbies and interests. The cake was ready for pickup on-time, and they even gave me written instructions on how to "take care" of the cake before serving it. The cake was beautiful, and my mother-in-law loved it! It had her favorite color and favorite flavor, and it tasted amazing! It was so artistic that somebody touched it because "he didn't believe it was a real cake". 🤣 Thanks so much for adding to the loveliness of this celebration!

We highly recommend using La Pâtisserie Chouquette for your wedding! The cake that Chef Simone created was both beautiful and delicious. The assortment of desserts including delicate macarons and beautifully crafted tarts were perfect for our guests to have so many sweet treats to choose from! Thank you!

Walked in and thought I was in Europe someplace plush! The sweet aroma hijacked all my senses. I love when desserts are beautiful and delicious. The richness of the ingredients can be tasted individually. The butter, the Bourbon, and the pecans. My goodness, what a treat! Definitely a place to satisfy any sweet tooth. Well worth the cavity!

Went to this place after reading reviews on how great the desserts are but we were really disappointed. Do not get the Mango milk crepe cake. Didn't taste like mango. And it doesn't taste good either. Wasted 10 dollars on this. We obviously didn't finish it. The milk teas are average at best. The boba tasted pretty bad.

It's a lot of pretty looking foods with basic taste. I got a total of 4 items for almost 40 dollars and ended up throwing away my drink after 3 sips ...with my 3 pastry items I had a red velvet cake thing it was a 3 out of 10 I didn't even eat the other two they are currently still in my car I ended up going to QuikTrip for breakfast and spending $12

I just had my first experience at La Patisserie Chouquette and it was HEAVENLY. We purchased Chef Simone's Cornish pasties, treacle tarts & crepe cakes. We reheated the Cornish pasties in the air fryer & OMG, it was incredible. I have never tasted a better pie crust, buttery, tender & flaky... and that was reheated! The filling was equally delicious, perfectly seasoned & with perfect filling to crust ratio. The pasties are so good I'm posting this review before I've even tasted the tart or cake! We used Sugaree Bakery for our wedding cake and it was great! My husband wasn't a huge fan of it because the layers of frosting/filling were the same thickness as the layers of cake. However, the flavors were wonderful and the decorating was gorgeous. I'm a frosting person, so I loved it!

I loved the atmosphere here. The staff were really nice and friendly. Very attentive and patient. The decorations for the holiday were awesome. I wish I got pictures of the figurine village. The bakery items were delicious. My sisters and I bought a cookie platter and every type was delightful. The pies were also very good.

Found this wonderful bakery when my daughter and I were looking for a dog friendly restaurant for lunch, and we found Dogtown. Walking to our car, we saw Sugaree’s. We had cookies and the most delicious blackberry key lime pie. Such a nice and friendly place with a large variety. Definitely will be back!

I live near this bakery and frequent it because I love the chocolate chunk shortbread cookies. That said, I cannot stand it when a place says it's open until 5PM but locks the doors at 4:55PM. I could see the cashier in there pretending to be invisible. So no Saturday morning cookie with my coffee now. It's not the end of the world, but I find it very rude and disheartening.

Don't tell my Granny, but Sugaree makes the best chicken pot pie I've ever had 🤫😍 Overall this cute little shop has some of the best sweets I've ever had. I can't wait for my Birthday because I know I'll be ordering a cake through them! Pat and her team are super nice and I've always had pleasant conversations with them during my visits.

So glad I discovered this bakery near my work. The salted chocolate chunk shortbread cookie I had was so delicious. I also purchased a carrot cake to take home with me, it smells great and I can’t wait to try it! The girl working was also very nice and helpful.

Excellent pies (we bought the apple and pecan--extraordinary!). Best blueberry muffins I've ever had, bursting with berries. Too bad for us the proprietor is retiring in a month and the place is closing....

The Cakery brought our Pinterest board to life with this adorable wedding cake! The order and design process was super simple and entirely online. When deciding on a wedding cake, my husband and I ordered cake tasting boxes from multiple vendors and invited a group of friends over to vote. The decision was unanimous - The Cakery! We had a vanilla cake with raspberry fruit filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. Not only was it gorgeous, but also delicious (fantastic price too)!

We worked with The Cakery and Henry to design cupcakes for our son’s Bar Mitzvah, and they were absolutely amazing. The recommendation from friends was spot on! While I didn’t get to taste a cupcake beforehand since they are made by special order, I trusted they would deliver—and they exceeded expectations. I shared photo inspirations, and the cupcakes came out looking just like the pictures, if not better. Henry guided me on how to pick up and store them on the day of the event, and everything was packed perfectly so not a single cupcake was harmed in transit. They were stunning, delicious, and set up beautifully by our caterer. Guests raved about them, and we even sent leftovers home in cupcake boxes as gifts. The Cakery made a perfect sweet touch to mark such a special occasion, and I would absolutely work with them again.

We ordered our wedding cake through the Cakery after trying their to-go sampler and fell in love with their flavors. We picked it up and dropped the gorgeous cake off at the zoo where the wedding would take place. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans: the recent tornado tore through the zoo and our wedding couldn't proceed as planned. We offered the cake to the clean-up crew as no-one was more deserving of a treat after such hard work, and were thrilled that someone got to enjoy it, which they very much did. The Cakery was also kind enough to offer a smaller replication of the wedding cake for free so that we could enjoy it ourselves, which we very much did! It was absolutely delicious, and their kind service was much appreciated as well. 10/10, thank you for your hard work!

The Cakery was very easy to work with and made a delicious wedding cake. We got their white cake and buttercream frosting, which was so good and we got lots of compliments. We chose a standard wedding design which turned out beautifully!! They were very communicative.

This was my first visit at this adorable bakery. Customer service was great. I did not realize they use almond extract in their butter cream frosting, so sadly I only had one bite of our wedding (elopement) cake because I hate the flavor of almond extract in anything.

We have ordered probably a dozen cakes from this company, including our wedding cake. They did such a great job with it that we order a cake from them usually once a year and have not lived in the St Louis area in 15 years. They are very accommodating, pleasant, and the cakes are otherworldly!

We recently dined at Russell’s on Macklind and was thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite cuisine and the impeccable service. The menu showcased a variety of innovative dishes, blending bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that our meal was a memorable one, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring our satisfaction. I can’t recommend Russel’s on Macklind enough for a fantastic dining experience.”

Love this place. On the pricey side but honestly worth it every time. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and FANTASTIC desserts, they truly never miss. Highly reccomend anything on the menu, from sweet to savory they all tend to hit the spot. I'm a big fan of the B.L.A.T.E., a BLT with egg and a house garlic aioli. Yum! Their desserts... oh my goodness. It's the whole reason I go to by honest. HIGHLY reccomend their chocolate cakes, the chocolate cinnamon bourbon crunch and chocolate espresso were the ones available when I went last ( they changed their desserts pretty often) and were phenomenal. Accessibility is fine, they have first floor, upstairs and outside seating. They do have a slight ramp at the entrance but its not the easiest in my opinion, because the door is then at an angle, which makes it awkward. The stairs going upstairs are also quite treacherous so be careful!

Carrot cake > cinnamon roll > chocolate chip gooey butter cake They say to never meet your heroes, and that’s kind of how I feel about Russell’s cinnamon rolls. After seeing numerous Instagram posts flaunting how fantastic these cinnamon rolls are, I finally got around to trying one. In some aspects, the cinnamon roll was great: it was the biggest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen, the middle was as sticky and gooey as a bag of marshmallows left out on a hot summer day, and the caramelized cinnamon sugar was a unique touch. But in other aspects, the cinnamon roll was pretty disappointing. The dough on the outside had a crunch to it that resembled being overcooked, and this ratio of crunchiness layer to gooeyness layer in the cinnamon roll was like 80/20, which is definitely not what I’m looking for in a cinnamon roll. Is the cinnamon roll tasty? Yeah. Would I recommend someone to get it? Probably not.

I have been wanting to come here since they opened and FINALLY got the chance. I got the sausage bagel and my wife got the sunrise sourdough and we split them. SO.Fricken.DELICIOUS!!! The atmosphere is amazing, we even got a little visitor to our table. My wife said the bloody mary was too strong but she doesn't drink much so maybe that's why. Highly recommend ...if you want a cinnamon roll, get here early or make a reservation and order one then! A must try!

I have gotten cinnamon rolls from here and loved them! Unfortunately this time my cinnamon roll looked like it had been torn off with little care and still given to me even though a big chunk was gone. I didn't notice until I got home as it was to-go. Normally I wouldn't leave a review about something like this, but these are $15 cinnamon rolls and there's nowhere on their website to contact someone. If you're going to charge that much at least make sure you give the customer all of it. I know that if I was getting it in person sitting at their restaurant they wouldn't have served me this so feels like they thought they could just give it to a to-go person and be fine.

I hit this joint while visiting. I wish I would have gotten food because it all looked good. I was there for their highly-recommended GBC and coffee though. Neither disappointed, but full disclosure, the GBC is not traditional. Well worth trying though!!

I wouldn't try it without reservations. The food is priced for the quality you recieve, which is exceptional. Their menu changes from time to time to keep things fresh, which is awesome. I don't recommend this place for kids unless your just going in for Togo dessert which is very affordable and delicious. The cake can be a little dry though. I recommend the cheesecakes and cookies. TO NOTCH DINNING for around $100 for 2 (unless you both get the steak)

This bakery is an absolute gem! I recently discovered this delightful shop and was blown away by the incredible selection of baked goods. The display cases were a feast for the eyes with rows of tempting cookies, cakes, cupcakes, macaroons, and more. I was sold on the gooey butter cake, It was my first time trying one and let me tell you, it was pure bliss! The perfect balance of sweet and buttery, with a semi firm cake and a pleasant gooeyness that was simply irresistible. Their donuts were also fantastic - fresh, fluffy, and with a variety of delicious flavors. I have plans on returning in the near future. Customer service was awesome as well!

The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The best cherry turnovers in St.Louis by far and their decorated cookies for every occasion are always a hit, especially on the holidays as I don't have to make any. Their petite birthday cakes come in handy for birthdays. Then, fresh baked breads are so delicious compared to what you buy in the stores. Just about any craving you have there is something that will quench it too. I love to support our locally-owned bakeries to ensure they stay in our communities for a long time to come.

We ordered a German Chocolate Cake from Federhofer’s and were so happy with how it turned out! It was moist and delicious and everyone at our family birthday party absolutely loved it!

Hands down, one of the best cakes that I have purchased for birthdays! The staff is welcoming and friendly and the bakery is clean and organized. I'm not to crazy about their donuts but I drive all the way from north county to south county just to get birthday cakes!

Was in St. Louis, heard the gooey butter cake is a local thing. Googled it up and tried Federhofers. Guess I don't know how it actually compares, but it was delicious. Made a great picnic dessert on our road trip.

I recently turned 50.. i looked and looked for a bakery that could do a cake that i like ... i sent them the photo of what i wanted.. they informed me that they couldnt do actual cake i said ok. i gv them creative freedom to do the cake... and i loved it.. They did a awesome job . They kept me updated on the cake and if i wanted to add to the cake that was no problem. Will be a returning custoner😊

We got a cute Smash Cake and cupcakes for our daughter's 1st birthday party, everything was delicious! Bakery smelled like heaven! Staff was friendly, service was great, and price was reasonable! I had seen smash cakes for $30, $40, and ours here was just $18! Yeah, sure Walmart might offer a free smash cake but the quality wouldn't compare to here and I like a family owned community Bakery. I definitely recommend this Bakery and plan to return and try some other yummy treats!

We LOVED our wedding cake! The Sweet Divine did an excellent job executing my vision for our cake. The design was so beautiful, the cake was delivered on time, and was very delicious. My only feedback is that the communication for booking wedding services could be a little better - but we do understand that our wedding was during peak season which is why we didn't want to dock stars for that! The strawberry cake was not my favorite, as it wasn't as rich as we would've liked, but the salted caramel and vanilla layers were DELICIOUS. We will definitely use The Sweet Divine in the future. They are my new favorite cake shop!

Where do I even begin? When my husband and I were planning our wedding we struggled with cake. He apparently despises cake and would prefer brownies in stead. I chuckled at the idea of nixing a cake and offered to find an alternative that we both absolutely adored: pavlova. Pavlova is delicate meringue with cream and some sort of fruit. I had a vision of incorporating this dessert as a topper to a tiered funfetti cake and serving mini pavlovas for those interested in trying. This was not an easy find in St. Louis until I chatted with Sweet Divine. They were immediately on board and worked with us to not only create the cake of our dreams but incorporate our florals which featured figs and other seasonal fruits. Sweet Divine baked up the most scrumptious desserts and it looked amazing. Out of all of our wedding photos, a picture of the cake is my phone background. Aside from the deliciousness and gorgeous design, this bakery was organized from start to finish, easy to work with, very communicative and reasonable in price.

Delicious cake! They also had Halloween themed chocolates so the rat shaped chocolate worked for the nickname we have for one of my family members! staff were so sweet and accommodating! Can’t wait to order more from them!

UPDATE: the Sweet Divine is still a must whenever I am in town. The cupcakes are always moist and tasty. This cupcake shop remains my favorite in STL. REVIEW FROM 5 YEARS AGO: This is the best cupcake shop in St. Louis! My favorite flavor is vanilla ecstasy. I ordered a dozen cupcakes as desert for my graduation lunch and everyone loved them. I also ordered 2 custom made cupcakes for my sister's birthday 2 years ago and we still talk about how great they tasted. Can't wait for the shop to reopen.

We tried sooo many cakes when selecting a baker for my daughter’s wedding cake. The Sweet Divine is not only delicious and beautiful, but the creativity in flavors is phenomenal! One of the two flavors my daughter chose was an apple spice cake but she wanted more cinnamon for a holiday feel. Along with the salted caramel icing, it was to die for! If you have not tried The Sweet Divine, it’s worth blowing your New Year’s resolution already!

The cup cakes are fantastic, I just wish they had more flavors in stock they had a bunch of exciting flavors online just not when you get there! Kinda the same stuff you get at any cup cake shop. The store was very clean and pretty and Kim was helpful.

We hired Pint Size to create our wedding cake and they did not disappoint! Not only was it perfect and well done, but it also was very tasty! Aside from the cake, this bakery makes some fantastic treats! Definitely worth stopping in. You won’t leave disappointed!

We ordered 120 oatmeal cookie sandwiches for our wedding, and it may have been the best decision we made the whole night. Everyone raved about them, and one friend even went home and followed their recipe to make them less than 1 week after the wedding. I'm thinking we'll make them for our anniversary each year. The cream filling is right between a whipped cream and an icing, not too sweet. The cookies were chewy. So good, I'm stopping by their shop every time I visit StL from now on.

Finally got a chance to stop at this bakery. The staff was warm and welcoming. The selection was pretty darn good at noon people. Been wanting to try their Brookies and Raspberry blondies. They had several of each, so took them all I did. Then, I noticed the oatmeal sandwich cookie along with the Peaches n Cream scones. Of course, I had to get one of each to try. I'll let you know how the selection of pastries taste once I try them out. Prices were reasonable as well. Definitely support your locally-owned businesses to keep them in our communities!

We were recommended Pint Size Bakery by our wedding photographer. She said they were the best wedding desserts she's ever had and that they were priced really well. I looked them up, realized we live super close by, and immediately went to see what they were like. Their baked goods and coffee were amazing so I was immediately sold, and thankfully they were available! We wanted a small cake for us to cut and then a variety of cupcakes for guests. Nancy was super helpful and flexible in figuring out how many cupcakes to order. AND everything was delicious. We got the Drunken Pumpkin cake flavor and a wide variety of cupcakes. There were only 4 cupcakes left at the end of the night. Highly recommend Pint Size Bakery for wedding desserts. And if you're not in the market for a wedding dessert, their regular bakery items and coffee are also to die for. 5 stars all around!

My friends ordered a custom cake from Pint Size for my bridal shower. Let me tell you, it was the best cake I have ever had. In my whole life. And I don't even love cake. 100/10 recommend!! It was also the cutest cake in the entire world. I can't wait to order a cake for any occasion just to taste the greatness again!!!!

Saturday morning munchies at Pint Size Bakery! There are so many amazing, delicious goodies that it becomes almost impossible to choose. Of course, that means we buy too much but it is so good and will not go to waste! Awesome service, the cutest decor and delicious baked goods. The perfect trifecta! If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and go! You will not be disappointed!

Tea cookies and toffee blondies are amazing, as are the custard tartes. Don't skip the daily breakfast offering - the only reason my quiche isn't pictured is because I ate it before I could capture it :)

It’s called Cravings, but my sweet tooth cravings went unsatisfied after visiting. I tried the hazelnut zuccotto, the lime blueberry bombe, and the blueberry crumb cake, and none of them lived up to the hype. Given the accolades tied to the first two and the overall price point, I expected more. The cakes were on the drier side, and the flavors—especially in the hazelnut zuccotto and blueberry crumb cake—lacked the punch I was hoping for. One thing to note: all of their cakes and pastries appear to be refrigerated. Personally, I cannot stand when bakeries do this. When I go to a bakery, it’s because I’m craving dessert now, not after a two-hour thaw. And if you’re like me, you’ll probably eat them before they’re fully thawed and end up walking away dissatisfied.

We ordered an assortment tray. Big hit. This place hits the spot every time. My go-to for premium desserts.

I have been to two of their Food & Wine Pairing Events so far. From both of the events, I have been amazed at how delicious the food can be. The entrees have so much flavor and variety that I enjoyed each course. The desserts are just fantastic are truly the spotlight. The scones are delicious. Tim and his team are fantastic. If you ever get a chance to meet Tim and have a conversation, you are in for a treat.

I ordered Thanksgiving dinner for two. I was completely satisfied. It had all the trimmings. Each part of the meal had it own distinct flavor. I have been going there and ordering from they for years. At first it seems a little pricey. When you taste the food here you would pay twice as much. The mashed potatoes are unbelievable. Who knew. I'll be back

So this place has basically closed down all inside dining (except once a month wine tastings). The dessert we ordered was a Boston Crème Pie, it was frozen and once it thawed it was dry and short on flavor. It was an item for one person and was $10, so way over priced. Too bad the hype doesn’t match the reality.

We stopped in before going to the Rep and were greeted right away. There were many specials in addition to what was offered on the menu. The mussels were done perfectly and my girlfriend had the special salad with pumpkin seeds and grilled sweet potatoes. She also had the sweet potato ravioli appetizer as her meal "awesome" her words. I had the Asian pork with green beans great flavor pairings. We shared their apple pie al a mode for dessert and I would highly recommend it as I would all of the items that we had last evening.

I often have lunch at Cravings and usually get the wild mushroom tart with the side salad. The pastry on the tart is so flaky and buttery that it melts in your mouth...and there is a layer of mashed potatoes under the mushrooms so it is quite filling and very flavorful and delicious. For dessert, the carrot cake is exceptional and so are the lemon bars and the monster cookies and everything else that I have tried. The food is just so good that I could eat here a few times a week but then I would have to get a new wardrobe. Going there for dinner tonight, and I can't wait to try the pork with blackberry glaze.

Lia and her team makes the best cakes. I had the St. Louisie cake at work last year and started getting them for myself recently. My best friend in KC loves gooey butter cakes too. Lia and her team packed up a small cake that I took to KC to give to my best friend for her wedding day. Lia’s cakes and bakery items are worth sharing. I enjoy them so often. Another thing to try, when they have it, the southwest pastry. It’s so soft and flaky and looks like a savory pop tart. I hope they make more different hand pies like that in the future.

I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Made By Lia for our wonderful wedding cakes and desserts! Everything was beautiful, elegant and delicious! We had the Vanilla Salted Caramel Cake, the Chocolate Ganache Cake, the St. Louie Squares and the Cosmic Brownies. Even those who do not like cake or sweets were coming back for seconds! We had planned our wedding in just under a month and using Made By Lia for our wedding desserts had to be the easiest decision we made! Lia’s team was a such joy to work with! Not only did they squeeze us in at the last minute but they were so helpful, friendly and collaborative! The communication was excellent, you will get one on one time with the bakers and they will take any notes, pictures or ideas that you have to make your dream a reality. Not to mention Lia making these cakes for us even while she was on maternity leave! Lia we cannot thank you enough! You and your team are first class and we cannot recommend them enough!

The GF espresso doughnuts and lemon blueberry scones are utterly divine! Excellent drink options and it's fun to watch staff work in the kitchen while waiting. Highly recommend!

Beautiful bakery - got a slice of their St Louis cake and homemade oatmeal cream pie cookie sandwich along with some other GF treats for my sister in law. It was so fun to see them making the treats and even had fresh things come out while we were in line. Delicious.

We loved our experience with Lia and her team for our special occasion cake! We elected to go with a gluten free lemon cake and it was AMAZING. No one at the party even knew it was gluten free! Really good pastries. Not too big of a selection like other places HOWEVER the recipes are truly perfected and not a singular item feels like it’s missing something. They have the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had. The brioche cinnamon rolls are also just amazing. Service has also always been great everytime I go.

Made. by Lia made our wedding cake and desserts and they tasted AMAZING! We chose the Lemon Raspberry flavor for our cutting cake and had St. Louie squares, fudge brownies, cake bombs, mini pies, and mini lemon meringue tarts for our guests. They were on time with delivery and set up and offered plenty of options for flavors and treats for our dessert bar. The staff, however, was not always the most responsive to our emails.

I went to Picciones for the brunch, and it's great! The Benedict is a nice alternative to the traditional version, and their version of a frappuccino is cold and delicious on a hot day.

The vegan desert's were some of the best I have ever had. My wife is allergic to dairy and she loved the large dairy free selection. I enjoyed a very amazing chocolate cake. If there were a way to give this place six stars, I would. They have gluten free cannolis that will blow your mind. So delicious and half price every Tuesday. I've taken several friends and family members here and everyone agrees that all of the pastries are amazing.

Cute place with good gooey butter cake. Lots of Flavor to choose from. It was fresh! The place is very clean and lots of seating. I had to have gooey cake seeming I was in at Louis and it being the home of. So I looked up places and this one popped up as the best. I was excited and after driving 4 hrs with only 10min before closing we made it. The girl waiting on us was shy and quiet with short answers. Another girl came out and seemed rude an just bossy. I know 10min before closing really but there were other people inside and more coming in as we were leaving. So I don’t think that was the cause of the off customer service. If I had not just been passing through st Louis heading to Branson I would have waited for the next day to visit. But aside from the off customer service food was great and we will stop back by when we have more time an not so last min!

This is a review of the smoothies at Park Avenue Coffee. The menu and the actual price of the smoothie is off. When I asked, apparently management didn’t print the menu correctly? Also, the ingredients to the smoothie are: peach juice, powdered vegetables, and powdered yogurt. There aren’t actual vegetables in the smoothie. Which made for a pretty bad tasting smoothie. The coffee looked great, I’d just recommend staying far away from the “smoothies”. See the photo…smoothie after 20 minutes.

I'm a huge fan of Park Avenue Coffee, especially in Lafayette Square. It's a small-ish space but the coffee and snacks are excellently handled. Moreover, the atmosphere of their location is perfect. It's*very* relaxed and comfortable with good natural light. Get the Lavender Brown Sugar Coffee while you are there, and try out the savory scones on offer!

I am definitely a new fan! They had multiple sugar-free syrups, the employees were incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and I loved the atmosphere. I had a very good sugar-free hazelnut latte. Successfully resisted the gooey butter cake, but I did let myself enjoy the smells! Their WiFi was open and didn't require some secret password. Coffee was delicious, no bitterness whatsoever.

One of the best damn cups of coffee I've ever had in my life came from this place. This was my first time going to this place. It is smaller in size but has great bakery options place. The bakery is on a sweeter side.Decent bakery size. Service was fast. Parking lot has some parking spots however can be hilly.

Helfers are the best! I usually don’t write reviews but they did so amazing on my wedding cake I can’t stop looking at the pictures. Not only was my cake beautiful but it also was the best cake I’ve ever had. Lots of bakery can make a cake look good but to actually taste good that’s rare. They were very professional & had my cake delivered & set up before people even arrived at the venue. Pick helfers I promise they won’t disappoint.

I recently ordered 2 whole sheet cakes for my birthday on April 5th. One chocolate and one yellow. They were both a hit at the party. People were so impressed by how moist, tasty, and beautiful my cakes were. I am still getting calls & text asking where did I get those cakes from ! Once again, as usual they did a phenomenal job on my cakes. The only small issue was a slight raised area on my purple LV cake. It still was a great hit with everyone, especially the yellow cake. I ordered the Italian Creme cake for a family reunion last month. When I came to pick it up, I swear a little tear welled up in my eyes. It was so beautiful! I arrived at the party, proudly carrying the cake. My Italian family was sooooooooo happy to see it, and the taste, oh my! Sooooooo delicious!! I appreciate the craft of Italian deserts because our elders are passed away years now. This cake reminds me of when I was young at the family parties! HUGE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!!

After following then on social media for a while I was excited to visit my daughter working in the STL area!! I was not disappointing. They lived up to the hype, ! OUTSTANDING spot!! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with wonderful customer service!! Display case was organized and well marked. The hardest part was not getting one of everything! On her recommendation, I got the buttery crumb cake. That I’m not ashamed to admit, I ate it in the parking lot with my coffee!! I just couldn’t wait to get h back to the hotel!

all vegan and delicious! especially the maple buttah chicken biscuit and coffee cake. i love coffee cake with crumb topping and you could tell the biscuit was homemade!! they also have another location sometimes with different stock so make sure you check both out!

Food (7/10): 1. Cinnamon Roll (10/10) - Delicious, savory, buttery, creamy. The icing tasted like a cream cheese icing. Great homemade cinnamon roll. Perfectly priced for what you get. The value is definitely there. 2. Sausage Cheese Biscuit (8/10) (came on waffles, sold out of biscuits) - Very good taste. Hands down, the best vegan sausage I've ever had. The cheese sauce was good too, but the sausage itself took away the show. The waffle had a slight sweetness too it was well. Very tasty. Just wish it was a little bigger for the price. Yearning to come back to see if their burger is anything like that sausage. If so, I know it'll be amazing. 3. Mac and Cheese (5.3/10) - The mac and cheese was creamy and mildly flavorful. The portioning was small for the price of $10. If it were $7 or $8, the portion size would match. Also, and I don't know why the vegan restaurants around STL do this, but there was a slight "tang" to the cheese sauce. Plant Craft Kitchen does a similar thing with their Alfredo. IMO there should be no tang whatsoever in savory dishes like Mac and cheese. 4. Audre Lorde Chicken Sandwich w/ sauce on side (5.9/10) - Good size, but over priced. The bun was soft and had a good taste. Personally would've preferred a toasted bun, especially if the sauce would've been on the sandwich. The Chik'n patty itself was breaded and deep fried very very well, but unfortunately had almost no flavor to it at all. Felt like I was eating a Gardein Chik'n Patty, which honestly in its blandness has more flavor. After eating this sandwich you're left with a feeling of "wow, did I really pay all that for this". The potential is definitely there for this to be a good Chik'n patty, it just needs some more attention IMO. The majority of the flavor in these kinds of sandwiches should be in the patty with the sauce complimenting it, not the other way around. I did try the sauce with a fry and it does taste like a southwest chipotle sauce. Most people who like that type of sauce would probably love this sandwich a lot more. 5. Fries (7/10) (came with chicken sandwich) - basic oven cooked crinkle fries, that had a very good seasoning on them. Slight crisp, well made. Good portion size with the sandwich. Service (10/10): Very friendly, helpful, kind staff. Atmosphere (10/10): Very spacious open layout. Lots of natural lighting. The pastries are right there at the register counter displayed very well. Good selection of music ranging from Jhene Aiko, Lauren Hill, Mariah Carey, etc. Art in the form of a poetic quote and paintings. Very wholesome environment.

My new go-to vegan spot in the Lou!!! If you’re looking for some good vegan soul food, a different taste, good quality desserts and pastries, then you’ll definitely want to try them out! I tried the Maya Angelou plate. It comes with your option of fried cauliflower, crispy plant based chicken tenders, or fried mushrooms, and two sides of your choice such as kale salad, cashew mackin cheese, and more options. And get this, the whole menu is VEGAN! I highly recommend the gluten free mackin cheese with whatever you choose. I also tried the Zora Neale Hurston crispy chicken sandwich. I cannot tell you how much this place did not disappoint! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying to the last bite!! The staff there is very nice and helpful. You would be doing yourself a great service stopping at this place! Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great quality and clean. What more could one ask for..

Im in love. Im obsessed! I nearly packed up the entire store to fly home with. The food is AHHHmazing, and fresh and VEGAN, and delicious! It was truly a life changing experience. I went back twice in 1 day. Got the Crispy Chik'n Hot Honee Sammy and the Garlic Cheeze Grits with Crabcakes. No notes. No wrong choices. No wrong answers. And the STAFF...dear God, the staff..everyone was kind and helpful 😭🥹. Chatted it up with the bartender while I waited for my order. Again, in love. Obsessed. Go! Buy all the things 🤸🏾‍♀️

Came here for breakfast on the way back from a trip and wasn't expecting such a great experience. The cafe was quiet and had a great atmosphere with all the mouthwatering treats on display. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the big momma cinnamon roll! A cool and unique find from what I'm used to and will definitely come back if I'm in the St. Louis area to grab a lunch and a cupcake!

This is one of the cutest coffee shops I have ever seen. It is in a very safe and hip neighborhood. The coffee was great and the food was excellent. I love the fact that they had gluten-free options in regard to cupcakes. I always enjoy supporting small businesses versus major corporation stores. If you're in the area it is worth going to. Also, the prices were very reasonable for a coffee shop in a major city.

Revised for 2025: Parking was a bit of a hassle, but this is a quality cupcake. Moist, frosting is proportioned and good consistency. Also good take out packaging for a single cupcake. In 2025 returned for 5 cupcakes and they were all winners. Moist. Great frosting. Delicious

Their gluten free cupcakes are delicious and prepared with the utmost love and caution. My spouse and I had absolutely no allergic reaction so they are super careful with cross contamination too. I think their strawberry blonde flavor is my favorite. Excellent drip coffee as well, and it's bottomless.

Probably the best GLUTEN FREE cupcake I’ve ever had! Got the cookies and cream and sang it was good!!! Super moist! Yummy devils food cake with GF crushed Oreos on top of buttercream! Such a nice treat! Great service. Offered forks or spoons which was great because we were staying at hotel next door! Fabulous!

I made a review that uncalled for and I would like to formally apologize to Whisk for the review. Yes I did make a purchase for my granddaughter Tuesday from a food truck. She liked the popsicle very much. I didn't get the receipt, which was my fault and I didn't actually know the name of the food truck. I have made adjustments to my review. Once again, my apologies.

To say we have missed having Whisk in our lives would be a bit of an understatement, which is why we didn’t hesitate to run over twice for their Valentine’s Day pop up. The pop tartlet never disappoints, and the crème brûlée cookie was a fun and delicious surprise. Bagel Bombs are of course a staple must have, and as you see in the photo this little petite cake was calling out to us but we had to hold off this time. Can’t wait for the next pop up soon ;)

A really nice little bakery to stop in for a visit. Very cute and comfy with a variety of drinks, artisan ice pops, and creative baked goods that include vegan options. I had a bacon chocolate chip cookie, very good. I will definitely stop in again though I understand they have remodeled and will only be offering take out moving forward.

I ordered a vegan chocolate cake with vegan raspberry icing for my birthday, and it was DELICIOUS! The cake was rich and moist, the raspberry icing was just the right balance of sweet and tart, and the decoration was so cheerful! The staff are responsive, friendly, and overall top notch. Will be getting another cake from them, for sure!

Diana’s Bakery is located on historic Cherokee Street and was a recent and delightful discovery for someone like me with a penchant for authentic Mexican pastries. As you step into this unassuming bake shop, you’re immediately hit with the sugary goodness smell. The bakery has an impressive array of over 100 traditional Mexican treats. Choosing just a few items will be impossible. The conchas, with their sweet, crunchy topping, are a must-try. The churros, golden and crisp, are a testament to the bakery’s dedication to traditional recipes. Check out my haul. You grab a glove and a tray and off you are on your journey to picking the treats that suit your fancy. The friendly staff are eager to guide you through their offerings and share the stories behind each treat. I love making discoveries like this.

Stopped by Diana’s Bakery because I was in the area and Google Maps recommended it. I walked in to the smell of freshly baked pastries and loved the place immediately. I couldn’t believe the affordability and variety. We bought 10 pastries and the total was $20.25. I loved everything we bought. I would recommend the chocolate bunny ears and anything with apple inside of it. Unbeatable bakery.

The Fresh tamales in the morning???? DELICIOUS. 100/10. The family that runs this business puts so much love into the food they prepare and present. Every single one of baked goods we got were fresh and fluffy and full of flavor. I still can’t get over the tamales.. we devoured them all in less than 5 minutes.. We will be back! I’d recommend this bakery a thousand times over. They work so hard, the prices are actually affordable, and they’re absolutely delicious.

I stopped by Diana's Bakery this morning for some absolutely delicious donuts! They all have such a rich buttery taste and wonderful chewy texture! I wanted to get an authentic experience so I had to get some tamales as well! I was worried at first that getting 2 half dozens was too much until I tried one of each Puerco in Salsa Roja and Pollo in Slasa Verde and decided it was exactly enough! I plan on coming here again real soon and making tamales on New Year's Eve a new tradition!

Many tasty options for Mexican bread, cookies, and cakes. They also have tamales here. This is not a sit down bakery. There are no tables. Staff are friendly. Bakery items are good sized but empanadas are small compared to the other bakery items. Most items are 2.10 each. Pan dulce 1.35. Filled churro 2.25. Besos are my favorite.

You have to try their Flan, Tres Leches (3 milks cake) and I know this may sound out of place… but they make delicious tamales! Some of the best tamales in town! (They sell out fast! Shhh it’s a hidden secret they have the best in town. They should really consider expanding this part of their business) I ordered an entire Flan for my birthday and everyone could not stop talking about how amazing it was 😋😋😋 This is high quality people! I read on here people complaining about the prices. If you ordered a cake from any other bakery in town that’s high quality it would run $50-$100. Why would people expect these amazing cakes & Flan to be cheap??? SMH ONE THING… just like trying any food from other cultures, go into it with an open mind. Some of the pastries or donuts from Mexico are not as sweet as American pastries/donuts. They are colorful, but not as sweet. (Think scones) This sometimes throws people off. However, there are plenty that are just as sweet or more. You have to try different ones to see which ones you like. They also take prepaid orders ahead of time which is great!

Ordered and picked up 10 trays of the bites and they were great! There was a slight mixup on pickup location, but the owner immediately sent someone to take our order to the other store. Very appreciative of this STL small business!

Heidi went beyond my expectations for my wedding cake. She is not just a baker, but a true artist. When I sat down for my consultation, I didn't really have a complete vision. She drew multiple sketches of cake ideas with various prices to work with my budget. In the end, she created a masterpiece from my ideas. Her cakes are extraordinary and are worth every dollar that you will spend.

I’ve personal shopped for the business before. The owner uses boxed cake mix. In one store order I grabbed nearly 40 boxes of cake mix. Now whether the cakes are doctored up versions or just flat out box cake mix I don’t know. I would personally feel odd ordering from a bakery/baker whose cakes aren’t fully theirs. Also the owner ordered over $600 in groceries. From a store 25 minutes away (traffic). Items Included, but not limited to, several boxes of cake mix, several gallons of milk, bags of flour, pounds of butter, over 10 dozen eggs, and wanted it brought to the second floor of a downtown loft and tipped below $10.

This used to be awesome. The donuts were packed with crazy designs, inventive flavors and fresh. There was almost always a line out the door with a hip vibe that was reflecive of Maplewood. I really miss it. Something changed around the time they opened the 2nd location & each experience since has been.. bland at best. So, here's my review of today's experience & likely my last: We bought a dozen with a mix of Sparkle Pony, long John's, Chocolate Strawberry, KoolAid Jelly, Gooey Butter & Mocha Frappe Pie. Donuts are pretty, but taste stale & cold, like they were made the night before or somewhere else. The icings are all dry and crunchy. The Jelly filings had a nice pop that was redeemable. The vibe & personality is gone. No hip music or cool merch. The service hands you donuts without excitement. I'm super PRO Maplewood. It hurts to say, but unless something changes, I don't recommend Strange Donuts. I paid $35 & could've gotten 100% better, fresh donuts at Schnucks for $12. Next time, I'll see who else wants business. However, maybe things are fresh in the afternoon.

I'm torn because I've had some truly great experiences at Strange Donuts, but other times I've felt so disappointed. But every one of these great experiences has come from getting their weekly "Stranger" donut that they post on Instagram, where they post a new donut that's especially strange, especially huge, and is available that weekend across all of their locations. That's where I tried by far the best two donuts I've had from Strange Donuts: - blueberry lemon fruit loop donut - cosmic brownie donut with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate custard filling. But outside of these donuts that get posted on Instagram, I've generally been disappointed by what I got from Strange Donuts. Their fillings and frostings are well-executed, but the actual donut falls short at least on their yeast-based donuts. Be mindful of stranger danger when it comes to Strange Donuts' regular donuts. But if you see a donut that aligns with your taste preferences that's posted as their "Stranger" donut on Instagram for the week, unleash your inner sumo wrestler and grab one of these mega-sized masterpieces. I tried Strange Donuts for the first time and I’m only giving it 3.5 stars because the donut was on the “thick” side. It felt like I was eating a lot of dough/bread and I like my donuts to be on the lighter/fluffier/airy side. I don’t like to feel like it’s taking me a while to eat a donut. The donut itself is good it’s just a lot of dough for me.

The doughnuts were good. Especially the Christmas tree and eggnog ones! The dough was not too heavy and had a good texture. They were cute but kind of messy and irregular in presentation. The ones I received tasted fresh and the guy serving them was nice.

In St Louis on a friend's trip and woke up early and said to myself, "Im going to be the good homie and go surprise my friends with coffee and donuts." Walked in at 0800 o'clock on a Sunday and requested 5 coffees. "Sorry, we are out of coffee." OK that is weird especially if since it says "Hot coffee" outside and also, I don't know... it is a donut shop on a Sunday morning. All good, I'll go somewhere else so I went ahead and ordered a half dozen of glazed donuts, "Your total is $15". I didn't think anything of it and paid. As I walked outside I started thinking how a half dozen of original glazed donuts for $15 is wild, so I checked the menu online. It says $8 for half a dozen of original glazed. So I went back inside to asked about the price and was told, "OH that must be the Door Dash price". I pointed out the price was listed on the Google menu and was still told that is not right. So this 1 star review is to let the owners know to update your online pricing (and have coffee brewed for Sunday morning) or to warn everyone that prices online are misleading... and they don't have coffee on Sunday morning

I was a little nervous walking in here because it was totally empty. The display donuts didn’t look that good, and they weren’t labeled. But I got the strawberry filled one and was pleasantly surprised! Great flavor! The donut was super squishy and the filling actually tasted like fresh strawberries unlike most donut shops. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town.

It’s a little pricey than most places I think but worth every penny! You will not be disappointed— Hands down THE BEST ice cream I’ve ever had! It’s made to order and they use liquid nitrogen which is why it tastes so good!

First time having Nitro Ice Cream and it didn't disappoint. I had the chocolate, it was creamy, delicious, and just the right temperature for enjoying ice cream. My date had a boozy nitro ice cream, the Benjamin, with Dickel whiskey topped with candied pecans. The ambience is sweet and charming with a true neighborhood corner store feel with the shop in Historic Shaw.

Came in yesterday evening and was excited to enjoy one of my favorite flavors that I always order. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with how it was made. I am not sure if the person who made it was new or needs to improve their customer service skills.

The latte was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—no bitterness, just that comforting coffee warmth. Nice modern coffee shop atmosphere and aesthetic. Clean. The smell of coffee beans and pastry fills the air. The service is outstanding!! So friendly! Greetings with a smile! They know the regulars and greet them by name. I had a latte and my wife had a hot chocolate, both works of art!! We also enjoyed a Comet Croissant and Chocolate Croissant and both were out of this world delicious!!! So flakey and buttery!! We had flashbacks to our time in Quebec City and Paris. So good!! Also had a piece of tomato and basil quiche, which was delicious as well. My wife and I highly recommend you try this place!!

Really nice coffee spot, however it’s small and popular so seats can be a challenge. Has some outdoor seating as well. Had a cold brew and coffee cake, both were excellent. Friend had a pour over and he was pleased as well.

Comet Coffee was first recommended to me by another local coffee shop owner which is always a good sign. It has always delivered a great experience. I’ve never had a better espresso shot than I have had here! They have it completely dialed in for each option they have and there is no better shop for espresso anywhere in the Midwest! The staff is incredibly kind and they have the best offering of beans from all over the world which is hard to find in the Midwest!

My favorite coffee shop on St Louis! They have a good selection of specialty coffees, they make great espresso, and the croissants. Omg the CROISSANTS. I always buy multiple because I live in a small town with nothing comparable. Buttery and flaky and airy and layered and delicious. They also have gluten free food options, though limited. Just wish they were open past 2pm.

Amazing little coffee shop with excellent coffee - pour overs are their specialty. Delicious coffee and espresso. The baked goods are excellent as well and the quiche is among the best I’ve had. Superb.

I stopped in St. Louis for the first time, and I feel like I have discovered a gem! The chocolate croissant were the BEST croissants, I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I literally felt a dopamine high after eating one. I am truly sad that I don’t have a comet coffee in my hometown. While enjoying the chocolate croissant, I wished that I could bring a thousand home to eat later. Also, the hot latte I got was tasty as well! Cool vibes in the shop too. If I’m in St. Louis again I would look forward to the chocolate croissants!

My boyfriend and I are visiting St. Louis and were craving a sweet treat! I like super sweet creamy ice cream and he likes sorbets more. We found Serendipity online and saw it has a great selection of both. We were welcomed by the sweetest girl who was so helpful and patient while my boyfriend and i were clearly struggling to choose what to get. Customer service was a 11/10 and the quality of the ice cream was just as good! I went with a kids scoop of salted caramel swirl in a sugar cone while my boyfriend got a small dish of lemon sorbet. The salted caramel flavor was delicious!! The salt balances out the sweetness of the caramel so well! As for the lemon sorbet- my boyfriend said, and I quote, “It was tart and if you like lemon it’s just perfect.” We will definitely be returning to this shop if we happen to be in St. Louis again.

The ice cream is incredibly delicious with a rich and smooth texture that isn’t overly sweet. I especially enjoyed the consistency—it has just the right amount of thickness. The staff were polite and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The place is clean and pleasant. I’d definitely come again.

Vitale's Bakery in The Hill district - It has been my history that whenever in a new city, find the cookies and the chocolate. I'm attending a conference and first visit to St Louis. I have a counterpart with the same goal: cookies and chocolate. We easily corrupted two more peers to seek the goods. I discovered Vitale's walking the Hill. I'm an ant, I scout, then bring back the other ants. Vitale's did not dissapoint. First, the staff are great and engaging, and they were patient, to the point they readily viewed my photos of my bread and cookies I make. Lots of great choices on the cookie front (bread, pastas, cheese and more). The cookies are good and we left with several pounds. I recommend a visit.

Even if you don’t watch King of the Hill, you can still visit the king of The Hill’s dessert scene: right here at Vitale’s What makes them the king you ask? The cookies were good, but the cakes were absolutely magical. The German chocolate cake I had here was so much better than the German chocolate cake I had from a German bakery earlier this week, it was like putting prime Albert Pujols in a batting competition vs your run-of-the-mill high school JV baseball player. And when I took my first bite into the Tartufo, I saw hallucinations of an Italian flag and I began singing the Italian national anthem in the middle of the store, even though I don’t know a lick of Italian. But buyers beware: these cakes are fit for a king. They’re extremely rich, just like any king would be. I traveled to St. Louis for a birthday party and ordered a tiramisu cake from Angie. We dropped it off at a restaurant where we were to have dinner the next day and then those plans were changed due to foreseen circumstances. We moved the cake to our hotel downtown and had a wonderful sunset birthday party. It was the most fluffy and light cake I have ever ate and most are so rich you can barely have but a small piece, we were able to eat almost The entire cake but saved a few pieces for coffee in the morning. Not only was it the most family oriented birthday, but also Angie was like speaking with my own grandmother. She told me exactly what to do with the cake and how to save it. If there is any left, there was not. I will be visiting these sweet people every time I pass to St. Louis for the rest of my life. And more than likely, I will eat a whole cake. A tiny quaint, much authentic Italian bakery in the Hill region. They have tons of baked goodies and fresh pasta, pasta sauce, ravioli, cheese etc. we bought a boxful cookies and a cannoli. This is the best cannoli so far I have ever tasted. The cookies are rather mediocre and usual. Some cookies are fine, but most of them have a strong artificial aroma/ essence, which I don’t like. Overall, a very nice place to stop by.

Where do I start? What a great place. Just walking in the door makes me smile. The smells take me back. I love the cookies, particularly the giuggiulena cookies and the bread.

The nicest people I’ve ever met. They only had one cannoli left and I needed 10 for a dinner party. They made 10 fresh ones on the spot. Greatest cannolis I’ve ever tasted. 10/10 recommend. Go experience amazing baked goods and better people!

I picked up a one layer carrot cake for Mother’s Day. After cutting into it to serve it plan to it was has icing. They obviously skimp on the cake mix and make it bigger and more dramatic by laying heavy with the cheaper icing. I won’t be going back.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that was the best turtle frappe (salted caramel and chocolate) I've ever had, and it wasn't too expensive (<$6). It was even served in a nice mason jar with a toooon of whipped cream that didn't get all nasty and melty as I slowly drank it. This place is the perfect place to grab a drink, relax, meet a friend, or get some work done on your own. I didn't partake of anything from the bakery, but I hear it's unbeatable.

McArthur's Bakery was our wedding cake vendor. Not only are their flavors mouth watering, but their designs are timeless and beautiful. We stuck with the traditional white wedding cake flavor and us (and our guests) loved it. We opted for a two tier wedding cake with some sheet cakes to be cut in the back - this is definitely the way to go. We plan to have them recreate a smaller version of our cake on our 1 year anniversary. We also opted to have a grooms cake. He chose one of their star wars prints on a marble cake - also delicious. I had received a few quotes from other bakeries on cakes but McArthur's had the most reasonable pricing for our moderate budget while still tasting like heaven.

First, I ordered a cake for pickup (German chocolate single layer) and it was ready for pickup at the wrong location. It was delivered to the correct Kirkwood location and I arrived excited to try the amazing cake! That part wasn’t a big deal but I repeated the pickup location 3-4 times on the phone when ordering the cake. Second, I get home and the cake looked beautiful. It was purchased to celebrate my father’s PHD program completion! German chocolate cake is his absolute favorite! However, what a disappointment!!! We cut into the cake only to have it crumble into small pieces and literally fall apart. The only part of the cake we could eat was the frosting which was okay. The coconut was pretty hard and my son could barely chew it. It seemed as if I was given an old cake because I ordered 3-4 days before my scheduled Saturday pickup. I was informed it’s better to order ahead so it can be ready on time when I called with my questions. I will say, I contacted the bakery a few times and no call back (even after I left this detailed voicemail). I had to find another bakery on a Saturday that had a cake for pickup at such short notice…and it wasn’t easy. It’s really sad that no one called me back or cared to apologize for the “old” cake I was given. It is no way possible that the cake was fresh or even just a few days old. It crumbled into small pieces as soon as I tried to cut it. I will not recommend purchasing a cake or placing pickup so many days before to avoid this situation. If you can’t buy the cake made fresh- I wouldn’t risk it. Also the online pictures don’t really look like the cake you pickup but I gave it a shot anyway. Very upset with the quality of cake. For the prices.. we want to be able to enjoy the cake and not have to trash it due to the texture and taste being on the “not so great” side. It’s unacceptable.

McArthur's did a glorious job with our event cake. Even though it was not something they had done before, Pat and her team worked with us to take inspiration photos and a description into reality. The cake looked beautiful and received many compliments on its taste. They were also flexible and accommodating with us regarding the delivery window. Job well done!

I called the week of to order a custom smash cake for my baby’s first birthday party when my other dessert plan fell through. The lady I spoke with to take my order was so friendly and helpful! I got a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and paid a bit extra for the baker to design their own creation (rodeo theme). Super easy pick up the morning of the party. Turned out adorable! Baby LOVED it and the photos are my favorite.

Wonderful to find that McArthur’s bakery has my favorite cake: an amoretto cake with raspberry filling. Yum! I was able to pick up one large slice that I took home and have been sharing with my husband. I also got a couple donuts. The staff person was very helpful. She even looked up a specific ingredient on the ice cream that I have a food sensitivity to. Thank you!

I'm conflicted on how to rate this place. My wife and I stopped by to try an assortment since I'm a huge pie fan and we got 2 fruity pies (blueberry and pear blueberry) and 2 non-fruity pies (oatmeal chocolate and chocolate chess). I'm a big fan of fruit desserts but the two I tried were pretty lackluster for me. I don't know if it was the size but they were pretty bland/not very sweet and I didn't get much flavor from the fruit within. However! The non-fruity two we got were outstanding. I'd go back and order a whole oatmeal chocolate pie and eat it before I got home. The chocolate chess was also very good. Prices are ok for the size of pies you get and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

I will always have a special place in my heart for this sweet delicious pie shop! Best pie I have ever had, just one of the many pictures I have but this was the most recent flavor! Fresh clean ingredients and great location & amazing service!

Great selection of pies by the slice and mini single serving and two serving pies. We got several to try. The Blueberry Gooey Butter and the Blueberry Pear left a lot to be desired in both flavor and texture, but the Key Lime, Chocolate Orange, and Coffee Hazelnut were absolutely delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll be back for sure!

Wonderful and tiny pie shop in the heart of Maplewood. We ordered 6 pies for Thanksgiving here and we were very impressed with the quality. The overall favorite of the 3 varieties we ordered was the chocolate bourbon pecan. It was so good that I ordered another a few weeks later for my birthday.

We love Pie Oh My! and frequently purchase thank you gifts for clients. The sampler sizes are great and often have unique flavor combinations. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We like supporting small local businesses.

The food is not perfect, but server we had was great, super nice and sweet. This five star is for her. The house blend is super bitter, I put 2 bag of sugar it still bitter. Last time I got cappuccino, that is super good! Mimosa is good especially drink with Sweet Potato Hash, the sour of Mimosa can off set the sweetness.

10/10 breakfast, 10/10 cookies & the macrons go to 11! As far as brunch experiences go, this was in my top 5 for STL. They tic all the boxes, bottomless coffee, heavy and light options, pastries that vary in style and flavor, open seating and great staff to take care of you. I tried the southwest skillet, and it’s a pretty hearty meal. The flavor from the egg yolks and chorizo that blends with the roasted potatoes to create a really enjoyable dish. The macrons are also a fantastic choice if you still have room after trying a cookie. Their flavors are on point, and the texture was perfection. Parking can be tough on weekends, so don’t give up if it’s hard to find a spot quickly. It’s worth the wait.

This was my 1st time here & it was my birthday so it was such a pleasant atmosphere and the young lady at the counter that took our order was extremely professional and accurate with or order. I love tea but the coconut tea that I had with the lavender honey syrup add-on was AMAZING! My sister had the Latte w/the Lavender honey syrup as well. I ordered the Avocado with 2 scrambled eggs and my sister had the turkey but with Buffalo cauliflower. All AMAZINGLY done! We bother we're very impressed and we will definitely make this our regular Sunday morning go to. Be aware that this place gets busy so 1st come 1st serve on seating. There's an outside patio with seating, inside and bar seating.

Food us great and the staff is super friendly!!! I went as soon as they open so I was able to get in and out really quick. This has definitely became my Saturday morning go to breakfast spot. If they served some mimosas in the morning that would definitely be clutch but yeah a strong recommended place to go to

I had a very disappointing experience at this Ben & Jerry’s. After ordering a milkshake, I was handed it with the lid barely on and told to fix it myself. When I set it down to secure the lid, the cup slipped and spilled everywhere. I immediately apologized and started cleaning it up with help from my friend and even nearby customers—while the two employees stood by and did nothing. Despite the spill being caused by the improperly placed lid, one of the workers asked if I was going to pay for it. I agreed and paid. Two minutes later, I returned to get a replacement. The second employee pointed me back to the original staff member, who clearly didn’t want to make it and had to be reminded by his coworker to do so. After they made the milkshake—messily—the first employee then told me I needed to pay again. When I asked why, they claimed I “dropped” the first one and that they had used extra resources. I explained it hadn’t been dropped—it slipped while I was trying to secure the lid—and that I had already paid. The first employee then ASKED ME if I knew how gravity works and lectured me on how to correctly put on a lid. They never informed me ahead of time that I’d be charged again, even though both employees were fully aware of the situation while making the replacement. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told there wasn’t one. The entire experience felt careless, dismissive and rude, and I left with a milkshake I no longer felt safe to drink. I wouldn’t expect this kind of condescension or lack of basic customer service from a place like Ben & Jerry’s.

I love their variety of pastries made from sourdough! I always see new products every time I come here. Today I had tiramisu sourdough and bacon and cheese kolache and both were very good. They also now have dinning in seating.

My favorite places? Cafes or bakeries with really damn good bread, and food, and people. Was searching for a spot to grab breakfast and get on my laptop on the way to STL for a flight home. I couldn’t have been happier to have found Knead. Decent sized space with a lot of tables. The food was truly spectacular. So good in fact, that I ate my breakfast sandwich (pictured), worked for an hour while enjoying my coffee, and then proceeded to buy lunch (chicken salad sandwich and a cookie not pictured) for my flight, plus a bag of brioche buns to take home. It’s not near anywhere I’ll be the next time I’m in town for work, but I cannot wait to go back regardless. It’s worth it. Kudos to Knead for their sourdough and people (folks working were so kind!)

Such a cute place! Got the iced Chai latte and cinnamon roll and both were delicious! The cinnamon roll is so soft and the chai had the right amount of flavor.

Great stuff from Knead. Hard to decide what to get but the avocado toast and sausage breakfast sandwich were spot on. Great flavors, and their in house bread and rolls were incredible! The chocolate chip cookies were the stuff of childhood good dreams, and the cinnamon roll was a 10/10!

We are visiting from Chicago and absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere and delicious food at Knead. We got to sit on the patio in the shade, loved the tasteful presentation of the food and the food itself. That sourdough cinnamon roll is the highlight of my dietary experience here. Next time I’m in STL I will have to stop by again. Kathryn is a friendly and delightful server!

Rainy day and runny egg - what is not to love❤️ You know from their name that the bread won’t disappoint, and they are indeed very impressive - the sesame brioche bun is clean and light, and it’s most likely so because they used a sourdough recipe. The sour undertones definitely help neutralize the heavier taste of aioli sauce and egg yolk. Reccccc

Absolutely love this place! I’m from Iowa and come to stl often and every single time I come I HAVE to come to knead. The food is seriously next level. Everything is absolutely perfectly balanced. Today we had the tiramisu French toast and it was one of the best thing I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too sweet and all the textures and flavors were balanced perfectly. I also love that you don’t have to tip at this resturant like you do at almost every establishment these days. The service is always fast too for how small the inside is and everyone is so nice.

Friendly staff and a minimalist yet inviting atmosphere. I love the long table by the window…perfect for people watching. I ordered an unsweetened latte, and it was excellent: bold, strong coffee flavor that wasn’t overpowered by the whole milk. Just the right amount of foam-like Goldilocks, not too much, not too little, but just right. I also got a vanilla and a chocolate donut. Both were soft, airy, and fluffy with a slightly crisp bottom, the kind you only get from freshly made donuts. The smell of fried dough was absolutely intoxicating. I preferred the vanilla, but both were amazing. The chocolate icing wasn’t overly sweet, had a low melting point, and added just the right amount of chocolate flavor without overpowering the donut. The vanilla was slightly sweeter, with icing that held up better (higher melting point). I do wish it had a stronger vanilla flavor, but it still hit the spot. I paid $11 and some change for everything, and it was well worth it. Highly recommend you visit!

I want to come back earlier in the day to get a feel for full selection. I strolled in on a Saturday around 1030am. Great friendly service. The peanut donut was the winner for us. The cookie dough donut was great topping wise, but felt dry underneath. But that peanut butter one was top notch through and through.

Great vibes from the jump — small shop, clearly run by people who know exactly what they’re doing. Gourmet, unique, and confident without trying too hard. We came in with our 4-year-old, who spotted a donut pen on the counter. The woman working immediately slid him a pad of paper so he could use it — a small gesture, but the kind of hospitality you remember. That gave us a moment to take in the case: donuts that looked so good you almost break a sweat deciding. Then Mike came out — jovial, rocking a Hawaiian flowered hat, the kind of guy you instantly want to hang out with. He noticed the other coffee we had in hand, and when we told him it was disappointing, he looked genuinely pained. Then he poured us a couple of drips from his Sump partnership — and suddenly, faith restored. The donuts? Out of this world. Fluffy, perfectly sweet, balanced. More than dessert — they were an experience. We’re only in town two days, and we’ll be back tomorrow. That’s how good it was. In a world where hospitality feels like it’s disappearing, places like this stand out. Genuine, welcoming, unforgettable!

Some of the nicest people l've met in St. Louis so far! I really enjoyed each of the doughnuts I got, they were amazing! It's a very comfortable place to have a doughnut and coffee and relax . Cookies & cream, blueberry cheesecake, and lemon custard cheesecake. There was a glazed chocolate but that didn't survive the walk home...

We were driving by on our way to the Botanical Garden and spotted this fantastic donut shop. Not only did the donut taste amazing but the service was incredible. Seriously, the donuts are handmade everyday from fresh ingredients and you can tell the difference. By the time we got there they were almost sold out of everything so you might want to get there a little earlier than 10:30 to have more variety, but even if you don't, you can't go wrong with whatever they have in store.

If you’re gluten free and are super excited to find a donut you can eat— don’t be lol. Sadly, they are the consistency of a muffin or a sweet bread in the shape of a donut (and wayyyyy too sweet). Not cake style, not airy yeast style, just sadness.

Yes that is right, you see cookie dough on that gluten free doughnut! It is way way better than I expected honestly. Cute little store with friendly service! Will be supporting this local business that is on my way to work again!

Excellent cake and beautiful design. I used them for my sister's 40th birthday. I live out of town and Valarie took my order over the phone. I couldn't have been happier with how the cake looked and it was absolutely delicious!

This is my first time i had an bad experience with them.I always order my cakes from them but today when i went in they were decorating my cake they were behind..then i notice my cake was uneven I asked the men at the front to come see my cake he also said my cake was uneven then said he can let her know so when that happen the lady came and said i dont see anything wrong..kept saying it..clearly the co worker and I did but she didnt see so she didn't not give me an option of redoing my cake or a discount.didn't feel like continuing arguing with her.so I paid full price.$55 not cheap for a cake. They will be my last option now just because the poor customer service I recieved today

The manager here was very unprofessional..she gave me a number that doesn't work to call her at..this is no longer Knodels Bakery. It is Natalie's Bakery...the manager was no help at all to me. But she does have some excellent workers that will go out there way to make you happy. If it wasn't for them I would have rated this place even lower..The cake they made for me was good!!

The fact they they are only responding to positive feedback says enough. Others in STL do swear by this place, however I feel the cake is dry and the designs on cakes other than wedding cakes are mediocre. Step one, stop ignoring the negative feed back, even if you don't agree with the review you could at least address the issue.

They gave me terrible customer service. Very unprofessional. Drove 40 min away to order a cake for my sons 1st bday. They told me they could have it by a certain time over the phone. When I got there...they gave me another time. Did not call me after they said they would if any changes were made. Didn't offer any suggestions. Left without a cake and very disappointed.

I ordered a Mickey mouse Cake for my Grandson's 1st Birthday, went to pick the cake up at 4pm on 12/28/2013 for his party on 12/29/2013 1pm. Three hours later while the cake is sitting on my dinning room table, I hear a thumb and look in the box and Mickey's rice kipsie feet have fallen off the cake!! How embarrassing for my Grandson's party.......then to add insult to injury I have emailed Knodel's three times sending picture of the damaged cake, called countless times, faxed, and used the Contact Us feature on there Web Page and no one still has not contacted me in reference to this matter. The only response I get is Cynthia is in the hospital!! this company is unprofessional to say the least and after paying almost $300 for a cake you would think you would get better service than this. I am so disgusted with this hood bakery.

If you are looking for a place that will take the time to care about how the cake looks and works, check this place out. Cynthia was extremely nice, went over every detail and really brought ideas we would not thought of. Its probably pricier than some places, but still affordable and out get what you pay for.

Placed a custom cake order. The owner was so kind and accommodating to our requests. The carrot cake itself was gluten free (obviously) and delicious. The atmosphere was vibrant, fun, and welcoming. I’m looking forward to our next visit. I can’t wait to try some of the daily baked goods. 🤤

Ugh, this pains me to write. I wanted to love this place sooo much. Love supporting small businesses but I just can’t recommend this. The whole experience was wrong. I ordered a cake online, tried calling/emailing/sending a form on the website to confirm that the order was good to go, especially because it said pending on order status. Only heard from owner day of pickup. So communication is just not there. I’ve had gluten free/vegan items from places all over and this just wasn’t it. Bought the super cute rainbow cake for my kids birthday. We have been eating vegan/gluten free for years due to allergies and I was thrilled to find a shop that we could order from. The cake, however, was an odd texture and tasted slightly like pretzel. The icing was sweet and delicious and it looked so pretty but the whole thing ended up in the trash. Unfortunately no one at the party finished their cake slice.

I’ve been a vegan for many years and am not picky about my sweets, but the cakes I’ve had from here are always…off. Dry and crunchy with a beany under taste. I wish them the best but some sort of new recipe is needed to sell these to the public. Definitely listen to these other reviews. It’s only maybe worth the visit if you’re the small, small, fraction of the population that is both gluten free and vegan.

My gluten free kids 7,8,10 have had great luck showing Sundays between 1230 and 1:30, so impressed with quality and variety, Alex is a wonderful person, the whole in-shop experience is such a treat for us, however don’t place special orders Pros— Prioritized Pastries bakes the most delicious and best variety of GF products in St Louis; Alex is so welcoming and interesting; things are reasonably priced and well portioned Cons— after placing an order in person 3 weeks in advance and following up on instagram 1.5 weeks out, shocked by PP’s failure to deliver on my daughter’s birthday cake for her 10th birthday, it was hard to see my kids so disappointed; hours are not reliable or updated regularly in google maps ; hard to get ahold of (tried email, calling, stopping by in person, had luck once using instagram) Recommendations — improve organization ; consumers should use caution when placing special orders with PP, have a solid back up plan ; PP may consider having a system to organize orders and verbally follow up confirming details with customers 24-48 hours prior to pick up date ; update hours on google and pick up your phone line :) Summary — Show up Sunday at 1p and get yourself a treat but be prepared to try again next weekend if they’re closed…you won’t regret it!

One word “Disappointed” I ordered a custom cake for my wedding, which was a two layer cake that was heart shaped. The communication from the owner for ordering the cake, was simply nonexistent. I had to follow up many times, with trying to get an invoice and just wanted to confirm my cake was going to be ready for my wedding day. With no responses, I was desperate to ensure I had a cake for my wedding, so I reached out on Instagram DMs, no answer. Then finally commented on a post and finally got an answer, weeks later. My wedding planner went to pick up the cake on the day of my wedding, the cake wasn’t ready. Which was totally fine because it was finished and picked up later in enough time. However, I was severely disappointed with how the cake turned out. The cake was a heart shaped cake, lemon with lemon filling, decorative icing all one color. The cake was dry, hardly any lemon filling, there was a godly awful amount of frosting which led to the cake/frosting to collapse. Flavor was just honestly bland and not good. Seemed like it was just a rushed order and there wasn’t any care put into it. Even the piping of the frosting was disappointing and not pretty, as I was hoping. Thankfully not the whole cake collapsed, so my planner hid the collapsed part from guests and photos. Was super excited to order from here as it’s local and I’m vegan, but I’ve made better cakes at home and could save $90. I attached photos of the cake, not sure if you can see the collapsed frosting in the photo. Overall, I was severely disappointed and will not be spending anymore money at this business.

This place is awesome. My order was made precisely and on time, the staff were very friendly, and they were quick to answer any questions i had. The cake was delicious, and thats coming from a person that enjoys dairy and gluten and all the other ingredients of which one that would require a cake like this cant enjoy. 5 stars all around, and i highly recommend everyone give it a try!

I had given up on birthday cake due to very bad bloating. I have gotten accustomed to just watching everyone else eat cake at celebrations. This year I turned 40 and it just seemed wrong to not have a cake even if all I ate was a razor thin slice and paid a price for it. I ordered the cake and picked it up from Alex. I told her she IS THE gluten free and vegan cake maker in STL and she told me it is her mission for everyone to be able to have cake. I almost teared up when she said this - I have been so isolated from so many things due to dietary restrictions. It is so incredible to have someone care so much and work so hard to make food so I can be included - any food I can eat is good, but her cakes are DELICIOUS. PUNCH LINE: Alex's cake didn't make me bloated! This is a small miracle. I LOVED her cake and I felt great after eating it. I could hug Alex right now! I didn't want a super sugary cake and she recommended her pumpkin cake. Oh my god it was good! A 6 in, 3 layer cake - it looked small but it was so dense and thick it lasted 3 people over a week... LOL. It was the weight of a bowling ball. My parents and husband are not restricted with their diets and they loved the cake. I was prepared to have cake I could eat, but I was not prepared for everyone to also love it and not just put up with it. The cherry on top! :-D Top Favorite Things to Note: 1. Alex's flour doesn't have almonds in it like the other bakeries in town (I am allergic to almonds). 2. You can request soy-free icing (she makes it with coconut instead and it just requires more vigilant refrigeration). The icing was SO GOOD. 3. At the time of this review, Alex takes a 7 day advance custom cake order (especially if you request soy-free icing) and you can pick it up at the shop between 10 am & 2 pm. Note: this is a two-woman show and so you coordinate a time to pick it up - there is no store front with extra staff (like some of the other review photos seem to show - the windows are papered over right now and they bring the cake out to your car when you pull up). Leave a few days to coordinate on cake type and size, etc via email or phone for the easiest experience. They are super helpful with questions and suggestions if you don't know what to do. She said she is working on a more detailed website but until then you can just work out flavors, icings, etc. She can do pretty much anything you want. 4. She very graciously accommodated my husband's request for way more text than any sane person would think might fit on a cake. (see photo. Thank you, Alex 😉) 5. You can sample her cosmic brownies (see photo), cookie cakes, muffins, cupcakes, breads, etc. at Fresh Thyme in the Foundry location in St. Louis. At the time of this writing she delivers on Fridays in the early afternoon and either Sunday or Monday. So check those days/times for fresh stock. My parents and I loved the cosmic brownies! They are mildly sweet with an amazing chocolate flavor. We'll be trying the cookie cake next. Alex - thank you for my wonderful 40th birthday pumpkin cake! Everyone raved about it! I will be getting more cake from you when I am town!!! <3 UPDATE: In this morning for the grand opening and WOW. Everything we’ve tried so far has been NEXT LEVEL. The banana caramel bundt cake was our favorite!! Moist and heavenly flavor… like a denser pound cake texture… I planned to request a special banana cake but this was so good I might just buy this (which Alex says is a staple going forward in the shop). Fresh fruit lemon tart was unbelievable. Lightly sweet with a crispy tart crust. Oreo cake was exactly like an Oreo, except with a delicate sweetness. Picked up a maple blondie and cosmic brownie for later. They also had zucchini chocolate bread and fresh fruit trifles and packaged cupcakes to go. YAYYYY Alex is back! 🥳

Someone gifted a wedding cake for our wedding that was not Encore bakery. This was disappointing due to the fact that we feel in love with the cake at our tasting. She has an apricot filling that is absolutely amazing. However, the day after our wedding I found that my new wife was holding out on me and had a cake from Encore for her pre- bachelorette party. So I got my fix. It didn't have that apricot filling but I have a bday coming up...

Francie is the best in the business! She puts so much love and artistry into her cakes! I love her spirit and I love her cakes!

Encore Baking Co. has captured our hearts again!!! Not only is the cake the most delicous we have ever eaten, it is truly a beautiful piece of art. This was a conflicting first experience. Let's start with the positives. The ambient was very nice, the place was packed but we still did not have to wait long to be seated. It was also pretty clean! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything we got was top-notch. There were some issues with the food, though. Here's where things get messy. The host was not welcoming at all. We had to walk all the way to her desk, and she started at us like we were supposed to greet HER. She did not smile at all, but she promptly sat us when we told her party of two. Our server took a while to get to us. If I'm not mistaken, he had like three tables. But he took very long to check in on us over the course of our meal. He was knowledgeable of the menu, though, and gave us some recommendations, which was appreciated. He was not the one who brought our food out. It was another server. However, this other server brought us the wrong food, and he had to take it back and get the correct plate. He gave us a bit of an attitude when I inquired about the dish, though, and said, "Is that not what you ordered?" The rest of the food arrived promptly, but the cook in one of the steaks was wrong, so we sent it back, and they brought a new one right as we were done eating. Even though these mistakes were promptly fixed (aside from the steak), it still took too long to actually let the server know since he took too long to check in on us. And then he even said we were his only table left. Why was he taking so long then? So we decided to look around, and I'll just say he was having a good time on his phone and chatting with other co-workers while we were waiting for the check. But hey, he was very friendly and knowledgeable, so that kind of makes up for it. I will be back to give this place another chance. I hope the service is a bit faster, though, and that we get the correct food.

Food and service were great, large portions but a little pricey. Ordered appetizer, the egg roll sampler…and only had 4 rolls cut in half but they were yummy. Salads were phenomenal!

Delicious dinner tonight with my special, birthday girl! So glad I made reservations because the restaurant was packed! We got our too small table and we quickly asked to be moved to a booth and they accommodated immediately. Service was spot on and the food was absolutely delicious. I had Thai lettuce tacos with satay chicken. The dipping sauces were very complimentary. I also had the Asian cucumber salad. Incredible. And, of course... Raspberry drizzle cheesecake for dessert. My girlfriend had a ginormous crusted chicken breast (a beast) with spaghetti. It, too, was perfect and plenty of it. We went home with three take-home boxes.

Our server Miyah (not sure if the spelling. Young girl with cute nose ring) was amazing. She took good care of us and she was super nice. Totally could be friends if we lived closer. She made our anniversary very special. I wish I had more to give for tip. 23% was all we could give. I would have given 110% if I had more. Thank you again for the amazing night.

Our waitress Camila was beyond amazing!!! She made my day and brought me a little birthday sundae. She went above and beyond, she recommended things to us and told us how good the menu options were. She was the best waitress i’ve had in a while. Once again Camila was so so nice and made my day, I would 100% go back just to have Camila as my waitress!!!

I’ve been here multiple times, but this time wasn’t as pleasant. I ordered the southern chicken, which was dry and cold. The other dish was okay. My server seemed upset that I mentioned the issue, and I’m not sure how it’s my fault. To be fair, she did ask if I wanted any more, and I said No, so she took the plate off. But other then that the rest of the stuff were great

The menu is huge almost like a book and I’ve tried nearly everything. Salads are fresh and filling, pastas are rich and flavorful, burgers and sandwiches are always made perfectly, and even the Asian-inspired dishes hit the spot. Service was fast and the wait staff was polite (thank you, Bella!). My favorite part of my meal was the latte - not too sweet, good size. I ordered eggs benedict. Appealing presentation, tasty, cooked perfectly. After several bites, it got a little too salty for me (but I'm more sensitive to saltiness than many). Potatoes were cooked just right with a prominent rosemary flavor. The complementary roll wasn't great and the butter was cold. But I wasn't expecting to get that anyway so I didn't mind. I would have liked the overall meal to be a little warmer, but it was still good. Ordered creme brulee for dessert. It was very sweet, tasty, had a good texture. It was premade though, so the crunchy sugar layer on top wasn't crunchy as it had absorbed into the custard. Still a good dessert but I missed that made-to-order part.

This is my favorite pastry/dessert shop in the St. Louis area. They have a wide variety of desserts, they literally have every type of dessert (macaroons, cake, turnovers, pies, muffins, etc) for every taste bud. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they are very efficient. They can get very crowded so you have to take a number, but I was served very fast. I highly recommend this establishment for dessert.

I love stopping by for a different slice of cake or cookies! I had a pecan chocolate chip cookie it was SO good..no pic. It's always a pleasure to come in. If you love macaroons this would be your place!!

Dissapointed. Had neapolitan and it was old tough and doughy not flaky at all. Had thier cappuccino not special at all. Food was avg at best. French bakeries are usually my favorite but this one seems like a knockoff. Atmosphere was great through and good location.

For some reason, I wasn't expecting such a nice sit-down and wait for service restaurant, and when I walked it I was a bit confused because there was the bakery side and the sit down side... but a waiter came and showed me where to wait. It was a very elegant little spot with nice, attentive staff and a fresh menu. It would be perfect for a fancy girl's day out. The soup of the day had beans and sausage and it was quite good and brought out right away. The free bread rolls were a bit on the crustier side, but soft on the inside with a nice tang. I wish I hadn't ordered the frappe, simply because between free bread,, the soup, and the frappe, it was so yummy, but also so filling that I was worried I would get full before the main course even came out. 🤣 I ordered the croque monsieur, and what I got was toastier than I expected, but still good... I forgot to order my sandwich without mustard, so a few minute later, I asked if they might still leave it off, and I was so impressed that they fixed it for me before sending it out. On the way out, I sampled some bakery items and let me tell you... you can pass on the lemon raspberry cake (it was fine, made of high quality, but not my favorite), but you MUST GET THE MACRONS. AND GET THE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE. I would recommend their croissants too, but not there is not very much chocolate in the mini croissants (but it was still very good as well).

Beautiful place and all of the desserts look amazing! Ordering was a little hectic. I always got to get a mixed fruit tart when I go to these kind of bakeries. This one was soo good! It had like a sugar glaze over the fruit and the filling tasted like coconut cream.

One of the best places to buy a birthday cake — tasty and absolutely delicious. Their croissants, with a variety of fillings, are also excellent. A place worth visiting and enjoying!

Finally came to the popular spot for brunch! I actually went here twice in the past month. The place is super busy usually for brunch but you can find a spot within 5-10 minutes. I got their breakfast sandwich which was very flavorful even thought it’s only like 5 main ingredients. I shared a sweet treat with my friend which I highly recommend you guys also try some of their baked pastries. I got the classic vanilla latte as well. I also tried their lox bagel the other time I went and it was actually very filling. They’re generous with the cream cheese and I love that. My friend liked her burrito and my other friend likes the omelet that comes with tortilla and bread. Overall, great lovely environment and would come again.

My buddy from St Louis took me to breakfast this morning and met him at Winslow’s Table. Seriously what a cool little spot. I did not expect this at all. The food was great, the atmosphere was chill. I ordered the two egg breakfast with bacon, potatoes and toast with a side pancake my buddy pressed the avocado toast and we had a black coffee and a cappuccino. Absolutely the food was great and it was an amazing day so we at outside. Bathrooms were clean and the parking lot was viewable and plenty of space. I might be back tomorrow. This was my first time here and I loved it. Thanks

I’ve loved visiting Winslow’s for years. I reserved The Cellar downstairs for a bridal shower and could not have been more pleased with the food, the space and the service! Everyone had such a wonderful time. The most phenomenal and thoughtful team. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Farmer’s Breakfast with scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, sourdough bread and potatoes. The eggs were cooked nicely. The fruit was over ripe and soft or mushy. Unfortunately the sourdough bread was over toasted which made it extra crunchy. The only jelly they offered was a peach jam which was disappointing. You ordered at the counter and pay then you go sit and they bring your food to you. They have a small parking lot on the side of the building or street parking. It’s a cute restaurant.

Fast service and doesn't require a reservation. Food was alright. The tex mex omlette was good, but the korean chicken sandwich was not korean chicken. The batter was like a fish breading almost and the pickled elements and slaw did not mesh well. The beet salad was alright, could have used more crunch. The cinnamon roll was very disappointing, it was dry and the icing tasted like pure sugar. The honey oat cold brew was amazing though. They have downstairs and outside seating as well.

Honestly a robbery. $27 for a breakfast burrito with 90% potatoes and a glass of orange juice that’s half filled. I went to the counter and asked them why my glass is half full and they said it’s 8 oz I look around and everyone else’s orange juice cups are all full. Our waiter didn’t ask me what size orange juice I was assuming it would be a full cup. I asked to sub my sourdough with bagels and the lady taking my order was so confused like what’s complicated about that. The potatoes were not seasoned and our farmers breakfast came with no butter. Service sucks and we kept on having to get up to get ketchup and condiments. One of our meals came with a hair in it but we were so over the bad service horrible food that’s overpriced we just left it and didnt it bother complaining. The price you’re paying and the food don’t add up save yourself the breath and money and go somewhere else.

Food quality was pretty good. I enjoyed the variety of items and was surprised on how efficient the staff was able to run the orders out. Great pancakes. I love the sparkling lemonade. Lots of people try to overload lemonade with sugar, but not these guys. Their lemonade was actually nice and refreshing. Kudos

My girlfriend and I had brunch here and came during the tail-end of a busy shift. We ordered a lemon meringue pie from the baked goods section, a braised beef crepe, and chocolate covered strawberry crepe. You have to seat yourself after placing an order and there wasn't enough seating available, so we ended up taking our meringue to their extra seating downstairs (which was actually private dining area for some bistro that's in the same plaza, so it was kind of awkward seating ourselves their). After eating our pastry, our orders were ready to grab and we found seats in the main dining area so we moved back there. Overall the food was good, very light on the flavors, had big loads of strawberries, and left me satisfied. Just wish the downstairs dining area was more welcoming for those that can't find seating in the main area.

Dining at Crepes is always a delightful experience for my little family. My toddler loves to smoosh his tiny nose to the glass of the bright pastry case and decide on his treat. The baristas are so gracious and never complain about the smudges he leaves. Instead, they are accommodating and friendly. The pastries are heavenly and the cappuccinos are perfection. Crepes is our favorite place in the CWE for our mid-morning snack.

know that this place is called Crepes Etc. which would probably imply that you should get a crepe, but if you want something truly amazing here you should get their hot chocolate. The first time I came here I was enticed by a sign that said "Award Winning Hot Chocolate." It was a cold day (surprise, surprise) so I figured why not? This hot chocolate deserves more than one award, it is hot chocolate that I have dreams about. For starters, they handmake their marshmallows, and as a result, they are enormous and dissolve into the hot chocolate which adds a new texture and flavor to it unlike any other hot chocolate I have had before. Second, the hot chocolate itself is creamy and decadent. The chocolate flavor is not overwhelming and it has such a unique spiced/nutty flavor to it. I'm obsessed. I have in fact tried the crepes here, and I enjoyed them as well, but this will always and forever be my favorite hot chocolate provider in St. Louis (perhaps, also the world). :)

A dog's mess! I ordered a double espresso, which arrived slopped into the saucer, without any spoon, without any napkin, without any sugar (oh, there was one single cube of raw sugar) or sweetener offered. I had to ask for it. I ordered corned beef hash--the dog's mess. A pile of shredded meat,unidentifiable potatoes, and two eggs slopped on top (the yolk of one had rolled to one side). No bread or toast--not even a sprig of parsley! The meat was tough, tasteless and lukewarm. I didn't even finish it. I had to ASK the waiter for utensils! My friend had a cheese blintz, which wasn't bad but certainly wasn't worth the price. It, too, arrived sans anything but a folded crepe the size of a deck of cards, in the middle of the plate, with absolutely nothing else. She didn't finish hers, either. They don't tell you that there is additional seating downstairs in a dimly lit banquet room that has nothing at all on the tables--no salt, pepper, or sugar. You have to ask for everything from silverware to sweetener. Never again!

They have the best espresso shot you will ever have in the Central West End or any part of St. Louis for that matter. Staff are very friendly and it really seems like they take great pride in their food. SLU/WashU discount makes lunch affordable and their burger is just amazing. Soup+Sandwich combo is a very nice option to go with as well. Try the French Onion soup! Overall, this place rocks.

Very rude employees. Two girls and one guy was behind the counter. We asked about a dish and she acted like it was hard work to be serving us. While the others stood there sipping on a drink. We left straight away and will not ever go in again. Get onto your customer service. That was absolutely terrible.

Crepes were good, however service is lacking. I asked for a cappucino, and got an espresso. When I let them know, they seemed annoyed, and gave me the cappucino in a to go cup.

Exquisite! Superb!! Delectable!!! Been here several times and it's pure perfection. The pastries, the tarts, the croissants and the sandwiches... Everything we've tried is mouth-watering. The wait staff is professional and friendly. The place is spotless. Nice assortment of product to purchase for home baking. My only wish? A small sidewalk table or two with umbrellas (or is there room out back for a little garden seating area?) Can't wait to make it back to Nathaniel Reid🌹

EVERY. BITE. WAS. PHENOMENAL. Seriously, this is the most amazing bakery. These are extremely high grade chef prepared dishes. We got the quiche, ham/gouda croissant, almond croissant & the raspberry ruby. 10/10 I felt like I was in France. I live 40 minutes away and will absolutely come all the way just for this bakery.

I feel very fancy right now. Greyere, yellow cheddar, Havarti, and Parmesan cheese, baked into this buttery crust is now floating around in my belly. You would feel fancy too. This is Nathaniel Reid bakery’s four cheese quiche. We didn’t stop there. We got a chocolate chip and pecan cookie and several macaroons. Two-time James Beard Awards semifinalist for Outstanding Baker (2019 and 2020). Sign yourself up and check this spot out. Also, as soon as you walk in the door, everyone behind the counter is greeting you. It’s so nice to feel so welcome.

What a professionally and efficiently run bakery; 10 out of 10 experience. Greeted right when we walked in the door by the friendly staff and our order was taken care of quickly. Our pastries were amazing, and the bananas foster macaron was the best macaron I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back!

Nathaniel Reid Bakery has been on my want-to-go list for a while so my husband treated us with a visit this morning for my birthday 🥰 All I can say is: incredible. Even though everything we tried was amazing, I think the Ruby was the star of the show. We saw so much more we wanted to try so we'll definitely be returning! And even though it was fast-paced, everyone was so nice. Tip: go as early as possible! Also, cash not accepted.

There is simply no parallel to Nathaniel Reid! Favorites by far are the kouign amanns - buttery, crisp, and caramelized - and the quiches, which are light, silky, and full of flavor without being too rich. This is the bakery that you visit on a warm Saturday morning that makes you happy the moment you walk in and sets you up for success the rest of the day. Everything here feels both comforting and refined. You can taste the quality ingredients and the love that goes into every bake.

Debbie is so helpful and friendly. I bought individual sized cakes to send to out of town friends/family for Christmas. You can order ahead with them and pick up at the store (or choose delivery).... and they are now on Goldbelly for those StL expats who need your GBC!!

Hi, I'm a St. Louis native, and I noticed your Gooey Butter Cake recipe includes cream cheese. While cream cheese versions are common among home bakers, the traditional St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake is made without it. You can still find authentic versions at some St. Louis grocery stores that carry fresh gooey butter cake made following traditional bakers' formulas, though many smaller family bakeries have unfortunately closed. The gooey layer is created using butter, sugar, flour, and eggs. Adding a note about the different variations would be helpful for those seeking the traditional recipe (bakers' formula) St Louis Gooey Butter.

I googled “best ooey gooey butter cake” near me and gave Gooey Louie a try. The customer service was great. I had to do a large order and they were really accommodating with pick up time, given it around the holidays. He said what makes their special is not that it is gooey from taking it out earlier, but they ingredients themselves make it gooey. I didn’t know what he meant until after I ate it and WOW. It was delicious! Highly recommend! Will definitely be coming back again.

Had to make a review after my gooey butter cake took a tumble down the stairs… Having the cake in the pizza box type boxes? was the only reason my gooey butter cake survived!! It got a little beat up, but so glad my cake didn’t fall out of the aluminum pan, or out of the box! Thankfully the aluminum pan is forgiving and I was able to make it look presentable to take to a get together tonight! Let’s not forget to mention the adorable designs on the boxes that the owner designs herself! Love the aesthetic of the place! Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the STL area!

Very comforting atmosphere when walking in. Very pleased with the customer service from Debbie and the different flavors that were offered. My favorite flavor is the peanut butter chocolate. I will be back for more in the future!

Jordan, ashley, jessica and the whole team were amazing. They were so helpful in getting us aquality product in an efficient manner. The store is laid out so nicely and showcases all things saint louis. I was there with a business colleague to get some treats for his customers. We are so excited to give these out. One suggestion might be to have nice bags. Let's say gooey louie for big deliveries and for repeat customers that give these out. Thank you again to everyone.

Really cute interior and exterior. Food and coffee was delicious. It was hard to decide since everything looked good. It's kinda expensive, but it's good quality!

I really wanted to try and see what all the buzz was about, but when I arrived I don discovered that this lovely place has closed down for good :( I didn't have a car for a while so I would pass by this building wanting to go inside- and once I got my wheels this place was no more.... I hope you guys find further success in the future and plan to expand. It breaks my heart seeing business close down 💔

I have been coming here for years - love this place and Andy (owner). Inside completely remodeled and it’s inviting, relaxing and fresh. Perfect place to sit (inside or outside) with a coffee and a yummy treat. The perfect spot. Food always on point as well!

Some of the best overall desserts I’ve had in a long time! The raspberry and cookies are cream cheesecakes were amazing, however the star of the show was the strawberry tart! Asked my man for his recommendation and that was it! Great balance of acidity, sweetness and crisp crust! 10/10. Will be back and will forever recommend

This is a reliable restaurant with fantastic, fresh sandwiches, soups, and pastries. Their display cabinet of delectables is a marvel with the number of different offerings. Staff are pleasant, and take-out is a breeze. Great spot for lunch take-out.

We needed a cake at the last minute and drove around to several 'bakeries 'and 'cake shops'. No one had a single cake. Incredibly bizarre considering their names. This was the first time I have been into pastries of Denmark. They blew me away. The options were endless. Everything was stunning on display. I walked out with more than what I went in for! highly recommend and will definately return

This place and it’s food is “looks good on the outside but not the inside.” Like others who have reviewed, desserts from dessert case has that old freezer taste. My kid didn’t know better but I had to stop him from eating them. Ordered a panini, the bread was warm but the precooked salmon was ice cold. Place could use an update. Staff was new so was a little bit lost on all things dessert and the menu. I had no problems ordering but there was a struggle with the older customers.
