Ekebergrestauranten is set in a stunning location overlooking Oslo and the fjord. I recommend taking time before or after your meal to walk around the sculpture park, as it adds to the whole experience. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and the view, especially at sunset, is breathtaking. Service was generally good but had a few shortcomings. Despite having a reservation, another couple who arrived just after us was seated and attended to first. We waited about 15 minutes before receiving menus, and the time between courses felt a bit too long. The food itself was good, both in flavor and presentation. The crab and scallop dishes were delicious, and the bread with butter was simple but well done. For the mains, the turbot was flavorful and nicely presented, though a little fatty. The veal special tasted great, but the meat was unfortunately very chewy, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, the knife provided wasn’t suitable for cutting beef, and it was difficult to get the staff’s attention. The meal ended on a high note with an excellent pavlova, light, crisp, and perfectly balanced. Overall, Ekebergrestauranten is worth visiting for the setting, views, and some standout dishes, but service and consistency in the mains could be improved.

I recently dined at Ekebergrestauranten, and it was an exceptional experience. The location offers breathtaking views of Oslo, which creates a perfect ambiance for a special meal. The food was equally impressive. I started with the lamp, which was cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. The mussels were another highlight—fresh, succulent, and served in a delightful broth. For the main course, I had the fish, which was beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The balance of flavors in each dish was spot on.

Ate the daily 5 course, and the salmon tartare appetizer was excellent. Piggevar fish was also very delicious, highly recommended. We didnt have a booking but we still got a window seat. Beautiful view of Oslo but not too overpriced, even if it was fine dining. Staff knew Norwegian English and some of them Swedish. We ate inside(the menu is different outside)

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the Ekebergrestauranten in Oslo, Norway. This restaurant sits on a hill overlooking Oslo with stunning views. The hill itself is worth a visit, as a marked trail leads past a series of sculptures – following the full route takes about 1.5 hours and offers different viewpoints along the way. The restaurant, with its beautiful terrace, is a perfect stop before or after the walk. We only tried the focaccia, which was delicious and well seasoned, but the real highlight seems to be the pizzas – baked in a genuine outdoor pizza oven on the terrace, with the wonderful smell drifting through the air. Drinks are varied, the service was efficient (if not particularly warm), and overall this is a great place to combine art, nature, and good food. Definitely worth it if you’re in Oslo.

This is a really nice restaurant on top of Oslo, and the view is spectacular. They seemed to be very busy when we where there, and lost focus on the table so that I was not served red wine for my main dish, which was disappointing. We did the 3 course and it was really nice, fresh and delicious 6 people ordered this and we all enjoyed it. Recommend to visit, and make some time to walk around, it is a great view area.

The location is truly exceptional — a place that could easily be unforgettable if the service matched the scenery. We came hoping to enjoy a few drinks with the view, but it turned out that to access the best seats, ordering food was required. Otherwise, the only option was a few bar stools placed in the hallway area. Once it became clear that our plan was to have drinks rather than dine, the atmosphere changed rather noticeably. To make matters worse, the server seemed visibly upset when it turned out that the payment would be made separately, and in that moment, an old receipt was rather dramatically tossed aside — right in front of us — onto another table (in the pic). It’s unfortunate, as the food itself was perfectly decent, but the overall experience failed to live up to the incredible potential that this beautiful setting offers.

The food is good but the service really sucks. We waited to be seated for a while but we had a reservation, we waited for the menus for so long that i went and got them myself. We had to wave and wait for so long to order and no one came to check after they brought the food, the same with the bill and so on. Someone trashed the bathroom and they also didn’t clean up the plates at all, we had to stack them to make room on the table. The restaurant looks nice and the view is good, service is seriously bad.

Great food hall with a wide variety of options from local specialties to Spanish dishes. The place is clean, lively, and the service is excellent. Sometimes a few spots get crowded, but there’s always plenty of choice. You can also buy local products to take home. A really nice place to visit in Oslo!

If I lived nearby, this would be a regular go to spot. There are so many choices here, and the two places we did try (a Spanish bites place and a goulash one) were both amazing. The vibes are cozy and comfortable-overall if you’re in the area, put it on your to eat list!

This is a multiple smaller businesses operating within the food hall. I tried the meat and fish companies. Both were exceptional. Prices were very tourist-like but the quality was great. The multiple different stores within the market made this a one stop. I saw they also had a butcher shop with aged beef.

A lovely indoor market with many typical restaurants offering Norwegian specialties. The place we chose required one dish per person if seated inside, which was a bit much as the portions were already generous. Still, the food was excellent, with a great harmony of flavors and ingredients. We really enjoyed discovering elk, reindeer, and whale among others.

Awesome market and eating places. Has several bars and restaurants plus all the markets for fresh meat, fish, bread, cheeses. Many types of restaurants from sushi to burgers. Fairly “new” (like all things Oslo). Felt like it was built more recently rather than having a long history like other European markets. But we never pass up a stop at the market to see what the locals are eating.

Large scale Le textile mill re imagined as a food hall, providore, coffee places and a welcome respite from the cold. Near the river which powered the mill in former times. Neat, tidy, friendly, warm.

Even we needed to wait 20 minutes for our food, it was worth it. I ordered the Thaisalad with tofu and it was very good. The music was very nice and gave a very good vibe. They have vegan and gluten free options.

The restaraunt is cute and has low lighting in the evening which makes it a perfect date night spot. The toast was incredible it was a jalapeño grilled cheese that stole the show. The cauliflower dish was cold and included peanut butter and kimchi popcorn which did not go well together.The cocktail menu is not written down and you have to ask the server what they have, which was a bit of a hassle as she had to try and remember what was available. Overall pretty good but a bit pricey.

We were so lucky to get a table without reservation, so definitely make sure to male a reservation if you wanna go. The waiter was super nice and recommended a very good wine. The food was creative and delicious, although pretty expensive for the small plates you get. Definitely worth a visit

Fantastic menu. Very creative and on-trend. All food are fresh and made with love. Workers were very professional and friendly. They are experts at recommending which alcohol you should take with certain menus. They also describe well of each food presented.

This place became our favorite after several visits. Although I don’t live in Oslo anymore, having a meal at Skaal has become a must-do for me every time when I’m back here. However, our experience this time disappointed us, big time. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore, at least until they change the menu again. The two stars I gave here are even a bit generous, but one of the stars is for the good wine, the other one gives credit to the good job they used to do. First, the service had been extremely friendly, helpful and passionate before. I could recall the waiters still smiling to everyone and trying to engage with the customers all the time on full-house rush hours. This time though, some of the waitresses had this “I don’t give a s**t” kind of attitude — sort of rushing us to order, never explained the food in details like they used to do before, and didn’t even notice that our water bottle was empty. (Please note that we were one of the 4 tables dining at the time) We were shocked that the service style went from maximal attention down to less than minimal. Worst of all, no one ever asked how our food was, which was incredibly strange. We had 6 dishes, which means they had plenty of chances to check on us but they simply didn’t. Second, as mentioned above that no one ever cared to ask if the food was good, here’s an answer: generally awful — bear in mind that this is not a cheap eatery. In regard of the pricing, one of the dishes was good, three were ok, two were just edible. The only good one was the oysters. They managed to buy good quality oysters and opened them without leaving pieces of shells on the flesh, bravo. The clear slightly spicy sauce served with the oysters, which was obviously allegedly a style of “leche de tigre”, was good. Maybe change the name before Peruvians get mad. The Bolinhos had good flavors, but were cold inside, and had an unpleasant rancid taste probably from the frying oil. Crispy Aubergine had been our all-time favorite dish, but the sauce was way too acidic and salty this time. The hummus wasn’t seasoned properly as they did (to perfection, which beats most Middle Eastern places in Norway), and the aubergine was soggy. The tastes weren’t balanced to our surprise, becaue it’s what we found the most impressive at Skaal. Broccolini was deep-fried beautifully, sauce was ok-ish, but the pickles were meh. The Veal Breast (Kalvebryst) was weird. The meat itself wasn’t seasoned enough, but the sauce was so heavy and greasy that the tastes and mouthfeels combined weren’t that pleasant. It’s edible but not enjoyable. The Laksa Curry was a real disaster — first, yes, fusion sometimes can be a bit of a confusion, at Skaal as well, but in a good way. They were excellent at playing with flavors. This thingy we got didn’t remotely taste like curry laksa. It was missing too many elements that it could only be called, at best, Norwegian Thai curry. Second, the fish (skate) had a good texture, but an awful irritant aftertaste that disgusted us a bit. Maybe it’s supposed to taste like that, but we felt sick as we finished the dish. We didn’t really talk about anything else than how disappointed we were. Our conclusion was maybe they have a new team now — different chef, waiters, maybe owner, so much lower quality. I asked the waitress if there had been any changes with the team, she simply said “no, everything is the same” and left without caring about why we asked. We wanted to confirm if the chef was in a bad mood that affected the food but she seemed to not allow follow-up questions. Although they seems to not care about reviews here that much, I do hope they will manage to read what happened as mentioned above. Simply because they could do much better, like they used to, providing one of the best dining experiences in Løkka. Also because we left the restaurant with disappointment and confusion, and it used to be satisfaction with exceptional food and amazing service a few months ago.

Skaal = 🐀🐀🐀🐀 (4 out of 5) Desent place to check out some new dishes. Nice and friendly service. Hipster friendly place with nature wine and a bit dodgy interior. But a huge upgrade compared with the previous establishment. Worth a try. Happy rats will return.

We had brunch here. Although their menu is not big, it has enough variety. We ordered the toast with beef cheek and pork belly burger. Both were delicious and full of flavours. Service was efficient and staff was friendly.

Classic French food in a nice part of Oslo. We had a 3 course with a cured meat platter, duck for main, and crème brûlée for dessert. The food was well prepared and presented, but perhaps a bit rich for me (not a problem if you have a big appetite!). The noise level wasn’t great. We were on the second floor and it was difficult to speak with the person across the table without shouting. Servers were efficient and friendly. It’s a nice restaurant for a more formal dinner, though is probably pick a more quiet time of the day if I came back.

Reservation is strongly encouraged. The restaurant is cosy. Good place for celebration and gathering. Service staff are friendly. Ordered a few dishes they are ok in general, The soup is very flavoursome, but I prefer it to be less salty.

One of the best French restaurants in Oslo. Food is tasty, very nice service and above all it is not so pricey. Very hard to find such a good restaurant in a very touristy area. You should definitely give a try.

The restaurant is so welcoming! they have options for any kind of diet whether gluten free only or seafood or anything you can imagine. their dessert is so delicious, the vibes of the restaurant and everything there was breathtaking! We were there for Saturday brunch. Let me tell you, this was such a great experience from the food to the lovely people behind the service. The staff was always so kind and attentive and every dish was presented and explained in such an elegant yet unpretentious way. They have a lovely selection of wine, cozy outdoor terrace and lovely interior design. We can't wait to go back for dinner too.

The food was very clean and refined, and the atmosphere was excellent. The open kitchen made watching the preparation an entertaining part of the experience, and the service was very friendly. It was a great place to enjoy a meal while having a conversation. I also appreciated that they accommodated my special dietary requests due to health reasons.

We came here for the last night of our two week Norwegian trip. The restaurant had a very nice outside patio facing the river. The staff was warm. I have to be somewhat critical about the food because they were all very photogenic but the taste and texture could all be improved. The first course is kale soup. The portion was small but I think it is the right size so we don’t get filled up right away. However it was too too salty. It was really not suitable for the first course. The second one is the home made ham. It tasted fine but nothing special. The halibut was chewy. This was the second time I had halibut in Norway. Both of them were disappointing. I would recommend to get it in Anchorage. The side dish is cauliflower. The chef managed to add a lot of color to this pale vegetable. Unfortunately it tasted too soft and still boring. The final dish is steak. It was the best dish for the night. It was placed in a warm dish. Overall I liked the deco and sitting of the restaurant. The design of the dining table and Riedel wine glasses. The chefs seemed put a lot of emphasis on plating the food but forgot about the taste and texture. The wait staff were nice but need more knowledge.

Excellent menu and atmosphere. Stand-outs were the carrots in seabuckthorn glaze, the lamb, and the two varieties of Norwegian cider with the drinks menu. Will visit again!

Wish we could've done the tasting menu justice but we truly enjoyed the experience. We had the four course dinner and were blown away by both the presentation and quality of the food. My favorites were the halibut and the potato and leek soup. By the time the entrecote arrived we were in a food coma. Could've easily fed a table of four. Waitress was helpful [tilda?] and quite frankly, adorable. A wonderful experience.

Was randomly walking around because my traveler sim card ran out of data. I haven't eaten ramen in a month due to traveling around. If you knew me, you'd know what an aberration that is as I absolutely love ramen. It must be fate that I came across Genji. I ordered the flamed salmon belly and wagyu ramen. Took a bite of the first sushi and immediately wanted to inhale the second one. It is absolutely good. The wagyu ramen didn't disappoint either. The beef was so good and soft and tasty, just as wagyu should be. I didn't particularly like the bean sprouts with it but that's fine, it's still an amazing ramen. Obviously it's expensive but that's Oslo for you. Service is OK, it did take a while for someone to take my order. Ambiance is cool, very Japan inspired obvs. I'm glad I randomly found it.

Hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to in the Nordics. Friendly and prompt service, fitting decor and delightfully flavorful food. I loved everything I ordered: tasty shimofuri mushrooms with truffle dip, spicy Rainbow maki roll, well-balanced and yummy Devil Ramen and the wonderful Japan-themed cocktails. Will surely be back next time I'm in Oslo.

Great place for some delicious ramen with Japanese beers on tap! We went in at a busy time with no reservation and they managed to find us a table, even though the restaurant was packed. I decided to splurge on the wagyu ramen and the beef was excellent, although if I go back I'll probably get something spicy.

This restaurant was so nice, especially on a cool day. The interior is beautiful, but so is the outdoor area. I ordered the geisha mocktail, which was both pretty and tasty. For my food, I decided to go with the chicken gyozas as an appetizer and the shio ramen as my main dish. The gyozas were very yummy, and the ramen was delicious as well as warm and soothing to the body. Genji's is definitely worth visiting!

We came in by chance looking for simple dinner and drinks and were blown away by an incredible steak and sashimi that melted in your mouth. The cocktails were unique and delicious, and we got free sight-seeing advice from the kind personell on top! All-around fantastic dinner.

The best ramen I’ve ever tasted—right in the heart of Oslo! I ordered the Wagyu beef ramen, and the price was surprisingly affordable. The broth was incredibly tasty, and the service was excellent!

Atlas is part of the Amerikalinjen hotel. We stayed there, but also had lunch on afternoon and it delivered! The food was generous (almost too much!) and exactly what we needed to fuel the rest of our day. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff so friendly!

my husband and i went last saturday. We are visiting oslo for the first time for work. We noticed the restaurant from outside. It looked cosy. Food was spectacular and very varied. Staff were amazing. We had a great laugh with the waitress who was funny. We would go back any time!

The breakfast was very average. I would say that the option for dessert is a really nice touch but the pancakes were a little too doughy where it tastes like it’s undercooked. The double shot cappuccino with oatmilk was really good! Will definitely be having coffee here again.

Chill brasserie, right across for the Oslo central station. Limited but varied menu with an additional bagel menu for brunch. Nice big windows for people watching and very pleasant music in the background plying at a perfect volume.

Greta place to grab a coffe in the morning or eat and drink in the evening. We ordered mac & cheese, a plate of anti pasta and two drinks. One Negroni and one After dinner cocktail. The mac & cheese was served in a hot metal pane. That’s great so we get food that maintains the right high temperature. Great taste and something we definitely will order again. We got served pretzels and wiped butter with bacon flavour. Just amazing as a starter. The anti pasta was ok. The Negroni was perfectly made and the After dinner cocktail was a vodka and Southern Comfort based drink. Last one is a bit to sweet for my taste. Negroni has the great bitter taste from Campari. The toilets in the hotel was great. Both clean and exclusive with clothes to dry your hands on. Will be interesting if they will manage to keep up with this service. Cross my fingers for that. Very nice and helpful staff. Looks like the culture already are good America nag them.

We are staying at the hotel that houses a restaurant. The Atlas was fantastic. We were exhausted after our transatlantic flight and the kindness and service were spectacular. As well, the halibut main course and salmon appetizer were delicious. I also had a Negroni, which was fantastic. Definitely a place to come back too!

Absolutely delicious food and drinks. Was in Oslo for 2 days and wanted to have a midrange delicious unpretentious food and was not disappointed. Definitely a local hang out. Not a tourist in sight. I love the chicken soup so much. The potato crepe with pork and pickled veg too. The waitress patiently explained the menu as we couldn't read Norwegian. The best food I've had in Norway.

Good brunch place. Food was good, service was ok but a little absent cause you order on your phone. Chicken & waffle 🐓🧇 Perfectly fried chicken on top of an american style waffle. Crispy outer and moist dark meat. Sauce was good, and pickled cabbage gave it a good sour hint. Waffle was ok. Mini pancake stack 🥞 Good tasting pancakes, with wild berries and lemon cream. The lemon cream gave it a much needed sourness to cut through.

We had a lovely brunch here, with very nice service. The food looks and tastes great, people in the kitchen seem to care about their work. The menu is smallish, but with something for everyone. Would definitely recommend, and come back for more!

I used to come here whenever going to Munch Museum and loved it. But seems now they changed chef, brunch went from Nordic fushion (which always impress me by its balance and freshness of ingredients) to sth more like a US style brunch. Gruyère cheese toast was so oily (didn’t get why they fry it even though gruyère itself will generate lots of oil ) and paired up with coriander in the salad and sause with chilly. Chicken on the waffle is also fried, waffle is American waffle - thick and sweet, and again with coriander and chilly. (Btw I really don’t think they go well with coffee or te). Pancake is also American style. Maybe I used to really like the place, I have to say I am fairly disappointed this time.

Amazing coffee! Walked 30 minutes everyday to get that Oat Flat White. Some of a few people in Oslo who happen to know how to use a La Marzocco machine. Staff is very nice and gave me amazing lunch recommendations at my first stay.

Good coffee and nice place. One of the better places that serves up a proper flat white. A lot of coffee shop get mistaken that flat white is the same as a cappuccino but it’s totally different. Nice selection of beans as well.

One of the best coffees you can have in Oslo with no doubt! No surprise there is a line in front of them. I loved their cappuccino and Colombian coffee beans. It was between chocolate & berries kinda flavour, nice for french press. If you just ask for baristas' advice for coffee beans, they'll direct you perfectly.

Very nice little cafe. Arguably the best coffee in Oslo. At least over time. Almost every cup here will be great. This place masters both espresso based and pour over coffee. Coffee is roasted on site.

The Fuglen way is cool, rooted in Scandinavian design from the 60ties and 70ties. At this spot, they roast their own coffee which supposedly is shipped to all other Fuglen cafes, those in Tokyo included. Crowded by off home-workers on a regular Thursday - difficult to get a seat. Bar stools available and outdoor area. Not exactly welcomedby cheers. Situated in the older part of town that is worth visiting. A few minutes walk from the tram 13 station. Bus 54 stops right outside.

We absolutely love Fulgen, from Tokyo to Oslo it has remained a favourite. The flavours are refined yet comforting, and the attention to detail is exceptional. A true gem that never disappoints.

Very cool and comfortable coffee shop with plenty of seating, nice selection of coffee and tea, and sweet and savoury bites. They have another location in the city center, but I ljke this one because it is more quiet and spacious. You can pick up some nice brand merch and coffee around Christmastime. They have quiz nights and events too!

Coffee are great, matcha latte are freshly whisked too! They also sell a series of coffee beans which you can buy back home to make your own great coffee

First time in Oslo and am an avid coffee drinker. Really enjoyed the cappuccino and the staff were so wonderful. Worth the walk from where we were staying!

Have to say a disepointing experience. Had to ask for bill 3 times and in the end go and ask if i can pay. The service is a mess. Food is very average and wine also... Not a place to drink ore eat as we was 3 people. And the flowers one the table is dangerous and really not the thing to have one the tables...

Terrible service. Servers are non-attentive and takes 30 minutes to get anybody to take your order. Would not waste my money eating there. Many more worthwhile establishments to try in Oslo

A coworker and I went to grab some food during lunch break. Great atmosphere, and well positioned by the pier of Bjørvika. We were two out of 10 people in the restaurant and still asked to sit at the bar (note that 10-12 big tables were available). Our waiter seemed to forget us, so we had to reach out to other waiters multiple times. The food was expensive for the quantitative, nonetheless very tasty! The fries in particular. Food 3/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 2/5 Might go back..

I tried the samosa chaat at Dee Pepper (Barcode) and absolutely loved it! The flavors were perfectly balanced – the crispiness of the samosa, the tangy chutneys, and the freshness of the toppings all came together beautifully. Definitely one of the best chaats I’ve had in a while. Highly recommended!

This spot feels like a vibrant food court with a wide variety of choices to satisfy any craving. We went with tacos from Al Pastor, and they were absolutely delicious. I tried one of each, and the chicken taco stood out as my favorite. These tacos are truly unique, unlike anything you'd typically find in the U.S. While the prices aren’t exactly cheap, the quick service and lively, funky atmosphere make it worth it. It’s a fantastic place to hang out with friends, right in the heart of the city, full of energy and great vibes.

Cool vibe good court with variety of cuisines to choose form. You can sit together and eat different things so it's very flexible. The place was pretty busy when we went at night around 8 pm so we decided to get take away instead of eating in. There are table inside and some outside. I had an Indian butter chicken with nans while my husband got some African rice and beans bowl. The food was hot and tasty and come in a big portion! Definite a great place for meals in the city central.

I had the chicken gyros with fries, pita bread, and tzatziki, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender and flavorful, the fries were crispy, and the tzatziki was fresh and creamy. Everything was perfectly seasoned one of the best gyros I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!

Food hall in a quite centric spot, many options to choose from and the ones we did try were really good, shared some tacos, karaage chicken with rice (forgot to take pic), loaded fries and gangnam chicken, all super good and quite fair prices for oslo, deff worth a visit, plenty of space to sit and tap water for free, super worth it.

Our group of 9 came here for lunch. each of us tried a different cuisine. I enjoyed a Pho bowl from one place and sweet potato fries from Fulani. The owner of Fulani and I shared stories about my recent trip to Gus home country of Senegal. He brings the Oslo Strert Food to life with hospitality. The pho was just like the one I tried in Vietnam. The sweet potato fries hot and crispy with steamy inside. So many foods to choose, smash burger, Indian, tacos, burritos, sushi, Greek, noodles, Korean, and of course ice cream and fixings for dessert. Indoor seating with steps to access building. Outdoor covered street on street level We walked later in the evening and the place us completely packed. Lunch time for relaxing vibe and ease to get around. Dinner time for getting to know people

Nice place where you can sit and with a QR code order from the table and take away at the counter ( no table service ) price are high more or less 200/250 kr for a dish everywhere ( Indian food or Korean smash burger empanadas ) we had poke bowls ( Hawaiian ) little and horrible, first time to have a bowl with hot rice.

An incredible coffee experience! The coffee here is unlike anything I’ve had before, rich, unique, and absolutely delicious. The shop itself is small and always buzzing with people, which just shows how loved it is. I also really appreciated the details: they sell their own coffee beans and serve drinks in beautifully designed mugs created in collaboration with a Norwegian artisan. A true gem for coffee lovers, and one I’ll keep coming back to!

I was lucky to arrive at 8:40am — only one table was occupied. After I ordered, a long queue quickly formed, and it became difficult to find a table to enjoy the coffee. The staff was very patient and helpful, offering suggestions and explaining the features, flavours, and origin of each type of filter coffee, even though the menu already listed them. I ordered the coffee from Kapsokisio, Kenya. It was a light and clean cup with a bright, fruity flavour that reminded me of red berries and a hint of citrus. The finish was smooth and slightly sweet, which made it very refreshing and easy to drink.

What to say. A must place ti visit for anyone that respects and appreciates the art of Coffee roasting and extracting. Had both espressos, they were amazing, sweet, clean and balanced. A real treat. Barrista girl was super friendly and shared all the information about the coffees and preparations.

One of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Food: All dishes were unbalanced and portions were small. Chanterelle crème was good but needed something crispy like a cracker, toasted bread or crumbs. Menu description mentioned «rye», not sure where this was? Main dish was duck, which was far too salty. Dessert was sour with very little sweetness to relieve it, sorbet was icy, mousses grainy (and one tasted like old milk). Service: Staff seemed distracted and in a rush even though the place wasn’t busy. We had to go ask for the set menus and again to pay at the bar. They put a box of cutlery at the table and didn’t explain any of the dishes; it was clear they did not know them as they had to check what was on the menu. No one checked in on us during the meal; we had to go to the bar when we wanted to order more. Atmosphere: Why on Earth seat guests in the darkest corner of the restaurant with a broken lamp when 2/3 of the place is empty? We booked a table upstairs because the website explicitly says the set menus can be served both places. We also asked the staff if it was better for us to go down to the restaurant , but they assured us that the food could be served upstairs too. In hindsight I think the service and ambience would have been better downstairs, though not sure about the food. All in all we paid about 2500 for 3 people. For the price you can get better value elsewhere.

We chose the more casual pub upstairs for our last night in Oslo and were not disappointed! Drinks and food were exceptional and service was highly attentive. When we left something important behind by mistake, staff made sure to contact us and help get it back to us. Highly recommended.

Had a great meal here. We were lucky enough to go on a day with good weather so go to sit outside in the courtyard. The food was fantastic, would recommend the beef sirloin or trout main dishes. Coppa Ham snack also worth having as a little starter.

They made us a vegan brunch!!! So excited! They really stepped up and played with some exciting and delicious flavours, can't wait to come back! Service is excellent and personal, the food was so interesting and scrumptious. Perfect spot for a date, with friends or a family with kids. The house is a sight in itself. I visited Koi Ramen and was extremely disappointed. The ramen soup was very poor in ingredients and lacked flavor — it didn’t meet expectations at all. The second dish was also very small in portion size. Given the quality and quantity, the price was significantly too high. On top of that, the water was served in a glass that smelled bad — as if it had been wiped with a dirty cloth. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio was completely off. The service and presentation do not match the level they’re aiming for. I definitely won’t be coming back.

Cozy place, although a little loud. Almost always busy but for a reason, top notch ramen, prices are manageable and the service is perfect 10/10. Waitress Marija was amazing, asking about the quality of the food and making sure we got everything what we wanted/needed. Highly recommend.

The ramen here are some of the best you will find in Oslo and certainly meet the standards of a good ramen. We ordered the Tonkutso ramen and a Tantanmen ramen. The soup was prepared well and full of authentic flavours and it was the main reason why the ramen tasted so good. The presentation is also very good. Recommend trying here if you want some good quality ramen. It was priced nthe more expensive side of ramen, but seems to be in line with everything else in Oslo. Regards @fooderarri

An absolutely exceptional bowl of ramen! Norway isn't exactly known for its food culture, thank goodness the people behind this restaurant have changed that. I ate there three times in three days, trying four different bowls. Everything was incredible. So good in fact that I only remembered to take a picture of the last bowl.

I would like leave a huge thanks to the waitress, Marija, that happily welcomed us. She gladly answered any questions that we had and made sure we were enjoying our food. Came here for a work event on the last weekend the restaurant held open - and we were overall pleased with our dinner. Great to have the set menus for larger groups, as you can just sit back as the food rolls out. They did a great job at accommodating allergies. Overall I enjoyed the food. Good amount of variety. The winner for me were the crab dumplings (as for most guests I’ve heard rumours about) and the white fish in coconut sauce. The spicy beef dumplings were runner up. The bao buns also tasted very homemade, in a positive way. You could north definitely see and taste the effort that has gone into making the food at this place. No shortcuts. It must be said however that we waited for quite some time in between dishes. We came at 18, and we’re not done eating our set menus until around 21.15. The set menu does also not correspond with that is presented on their webpage, and I wish we did get a bit clearer explanation of what we were eating. To conclude I’m sad to see this place leave the Oslo restaurant scene, as the food is definitely one to recommend. The venue is perhaps not the best - so one can just hope (and perhaps assume) that they will open again in a different fashion.

We spent a good moment in this little restaurant. Where food is of quality and taste is true to what it is announced. Service is caring . The decor is all in all very mixed and matched in a mix between China and Caribbean island!

Creative? Yes. Successfully so? Eh. The set menu bounces irreverently between Chinese, Nordic, Japanese, Filipino, and perhaps a few more. When it works, it’s tasty and playful. When it doesn’t - half of the time, unfortunately - it comes off as unbalanced and unfinished. It started off promising with a watermelon “tuna”. Followed by a spicy crab and kimchi dumpling full of flavour, then another seafood one that tasted like bland fish soup. Switching the order here might have made a difference, since the crab was so much more intense. The fried dumplings were nice although the dough was way too thick. The ceviche was strange - out of 4 plates, none tasted the same. The inconsistency carried on to the duck salad, where one of the “pancakes” arrived burnt to the point of being inedible. When we asked for another, we got one that was still raw and doughy. This dish was presented as the main, but was easily the biggest letdown of our meal. The service was slow, as other reviewers have noted. We were placed by the door, despite there being other empty tables in the room. The servers were kind, but the attentiveness was nowhere near the standard you would expect at this price level. We paid 4500 for the tasting menu for 4 people, with a few drinks. It didn’t feel like good value.

Lovely dumplings! My favourite was the king crab. Every dish has just four pieces, but after a while they are actually surprisingly filling. We didn't have a reservation, but even though they were fully booked, they were able to seat us by a table next to the kitchen, which turned out to be really cozy. Tip: get a side dish (like the kimchi) so you have something to nibble on while waiting for the dumplings. A little pricey, but the quality makes it worth it. The only disappointment was the dessert in my opinion, but that's not enough to deduct a star.

Excellent dim sum. Can’t pick a favourite as they were all delicious. The place is cosy too. It loses one star as we couldn’t pay separately and this is not convenient when we are a group of acquaintances and from my experience, this has not been an issue in other restaurants I’ve been to, and I eat out a lot.

This space is small, achingly cool, and yes, it’s always packed — but for good reason. The vibe is electric and the wines… well, safe to say you won’t run out of good options anytime soon (or gin too, if that’s your thing)! The stars of the show are the young, dynamic duo (I believe?) running the place. They’re friendly, passionate, and have a knack for recommending wines that hit the spot. I particularly loved that nearly everything on the menu is available by the glass, so don’t feel like you’re limited by what is on the board! If you’re up for a buzzy, intimate space with killer wine and great company, this place is a total gem!

Each time I visit Oslo, I have a memorable experience. Today’s visit to Territoriet (more like TerritoriAL) was no exception. My partner and I arrived at 4pm to relax, have a glass of Cremant and a snack and wait for our photographer to meet us, to then walk around the neighborhood for our engagement photos. In that time, we also ate a very bland white bean hummus served with half baked bread while a woman had her breast out of her shirt feeding her persistently wailing newborn baby at the table next to us. This seemed to be of no issue to the staff, especially the barman who left in the middle of his shift to go grocery shopping. Though it destroyed the moment for us, we said nothing about it. However, the barman wasted no time letting us know that we were disturbing him. Our photographer grabbed a few shots of us inside, and then recognized that we should move outside as not to disturb our fellow patrons. When we were outside and almost on our way to our next location, the barman confronted us with a lecture about how it was “maybe okay” for us to be taking photos but that it “would have been kind to ask for permission” because we were losing him customers. This man was nowhere to be found for the majority of our time there. Nobody was waiting to be seated and the place was dead. We also hadn’t planned to take any pictures there—it was on a whim, and a very quick and last minute suggestion from our photographer. All done within less than 5 minutes. Needless to say, we apologized for upsetting him. When my partner closed our tab, he apologized again, only to be told the same thing about asking permission. Our kindness was not met with any grace. It was quite clumsy customer service in fact upon seeing the barman knock himself into wine bottles as he nearly ran away from our second apology. Anyway, we moved on to Nektar wine bar within walking distance and had a much better and welcoming time. The mature choice by far and actually deserving of their ranking in top wine bars of Oslo.

The menu is the same though the beverage options are only listed over the counter as opposed to on the menu. I felt that the chef was generous with pepper on the avocado toast, but all in all the food was tasty. Top tip: toilet is outside (green door picture), and you have to ask for the key at the counter.

We never got to eat. A very un friendly place for families. We came with a reservation for inside table but my kid was napping, so after a lot of back and forth they placed us in the most unwanted table outside in the shadow and we have to leave because we we’re freezing. Nobody offer us even water… (I wrote in my reservation that we were going with a kid)

I love this brunch spot! It is mostly plant-based which is so hot, and the music has a good loungey/house-like vibe. The food is extremely instagram-friendly while also wholesome and delicious, it is a little pricey on paper, but the quality of the ingredients, the flavours and the presentation are so worth it! This is a good cozy, modern place to take a date, your partner, your parents, or even your kids for a salubrious (that means healthy) brunch, lunch or in-between! Enjoy!

This is an exceptional café. My brother and I had a wonderful experience here, arriving hungry and exhausted after an evening out in Oslo. The interior design of KUMI is exquisite and welcoming: a calming alchemy of Nordic and Japanese décor. The lovely proprietress and head chef crafted us a delicate French omelet, alongside an egg and avocado sandwich on a fresh brioche bun—the food beautifully prepared, healthy, and flavorful. Precisely what our ailing bodies needed! What’s more, KUMI’s friendly dining room host paired us with a glass of fantastic orange wine, and stayed with us to chat about viticulture and Scandinavia. A beautiful spot in Oslo’s quiet Gamlebyen neighborhood, KUMI is top, top, top!!

It was really hot. I tried the 6-piece Nashville Nuggets Roulette—one of those pieces was at Reaper-level spice. Unbelievable! The nuggets were super tasty overall, but that one piece… wow! I have a pretty high spice tolerance, but I couldn’t even finish it. The burger and fries were good, but I wasn’t a fan of the ranch dip. Definitely going back for those nuggets again!

I get that its Norway & eating out is expensive & all. But 225kr for this serving? & 150kr for a lemonade? Seriously? I ordered spicy (Nashville) & all I could taste was raw chili only. Absolutely no taste of chicken. Never again!

It was our first day in oslo, we went to Hot Temper and i can honestly say Harry your a legend, so friendly, knowledgeable and keen to help new tourists find new spots. The food was absolutely delicious, and Harry knew his stuff. I would definately reccomend this place and would visit again.

Excellent hot chicken and sides, with Nashville levels of heat selection. We had the standard chicken sandwiches at the “Ghost” level (third from highest) and they were rich and very spicy without being overwhelming.

Walked in for a super late lunch and their kitchen was unfortunately closed. After looking at our little one, Helga, their super kind hostess made an exception and requested their kitchen to put in one last order before closing for the afternoon. The interiors of this restaurant are very posh and modern. Bright decor, excellent tableware, and very fresh! We kept our order to Helga's recommendation... kiddie pasta for our little one, and a Norwegian specialty fish, available only during their prime season - Skrei. The Pan-fried Skrei was very delicious and the creamy celery root sauce just elevated the taste to another level. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant, noise level was low, and food arrived within 15-mins of ordering. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to experience some fine dining and tasty food, and of course, their amazing service!

This was quite a disappointment. We got a table quickly, but our drinks took quite some time. Fortunately another waiter came over with some water while we waited. Prices are for meat/fish with sauce and no extras. You have to order sides to get a meal. The waiter could not recommend, so we randomly picked something based on description. The waiter also did not know what some of the exotic ingredients were when we asked and colleagues also didn't know. When the food arrived, we got Double salted beans that were not properly cleaned. Way too salty for my taste. During the entire stay, they played the most worn out 80's music. The Fish & sauce were quite good, but it was tiny portions for the price. Food was also served on tiny entree size plates, so we had to ask for proper dinnerware. We basically got a fish-tail shared on two for 800nok. Fish, sauce and puree had good flavours, but no feeling of luxury. We took our dessert at another establishment and I doubt we'll come back.

The halibut was tasty with the butter sauce, very pricey for what we received. The greens were really good, overall a little too expensive for what we received. The service was amazing and I loved the 80s music

I was looking forward to trying out this place, gorgeous design and extremely kind service from beginning to end. However, massive improvements required on the food side of things, mostly if you have such a short menu and rather high prices, each dish has to be perfection. I chose snails for starter, they were good, nothing too unique, could have played a bit with the butter flavour, but that one quite blunt. Still, the disappointment with this dish came with the bread. That was a rather ordinary piece of bread, sticky in the inside. Taste was ok, but texture was not so appealing. Nordic countries have been playing such a high bakery game in the past years, I had some of the best bread in Oslo, that this can't be the bread you get in such a high level gastronomically aspirational restaurant. Now, moving to main, I chose an entrecote and a salad, salad was probably the highlight of the evening, a great combination of ingredients, flavourful and yet balanced. But the meat was a lowest point of the evening, first piece was overcooked, was a strong medium, I asked for medium rare, on the rare side. They brought me a second piece which was now fully rare, which I didn't mind if the meat would have been good - but what a poor piece of meat and cut, was chewy, was flavoruless, was just a terrible experience by any extent. I've tried to make my way through the piece as I try to honor every peice of meat I get and alreadh feeling bad for sending out the first piece, but this was by far one of the worst meats I had. Either, there's a butcher change needed or a dish replacement in the menu if you can't deliver for the price. I regretted not taking fish or pork neck as these are harder to miss. And yet, as I was sad, I decided to try desert, went with the Pavlova. Filling was nice, wolde cherry base was tasty, but the merengue itself was so hard and sweet that it spoiled the experience. That wasn't a fresh merengue and definitely over sweetened. 3 stars is only because of the great service and a good selection of wines, I do hope they improve the food part.

Great experience! The food was very very nice. One of the best pizzas in Oslo for sure. The restaurant has an Italian style and nice environment. A bit of a long time since we ordered until we got the food, it was pretty full though.

We were visiting Oslo for 2 days and luckily found this Italian restaurant. We had a pizza and 2 pasta dishes. The pasta was home made and was particularly good. We also love the arancini which came in 4 pieces. The interior is cozy and comfortable. We were rejuvenated for more city walking.

I knew it was busy and that you couldn't book in the evening. Simply left our number with gentleman at the door and texted us (40 mins later) when our table was ready. We had a carbonara, risotto, and 2 pizza's. All were v tasty and good sizes

The Tartuf pizza is outstanding – creamy burrata, mozzarella, parmigiano, intense truffle, crispy speck, and perfectly crunchy crust. The Treccina alla Nutella dessert is moist and a chocolatey delight. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the space is small but cozy and full of charm. Highly recommended for true pizza and dessert lovers!

This afternoon was our first visit to Mamma Pizza. The food, ambience and the service provided were all spot on! The appetizer, pasta and pizza “served” and for a nice lunch spread of this quantity, the food felt light and sumptuous on the T. It was evident that they use their homemade sauces and stick to the traditional Italian recipes and the dessert was fabulous. Definitely recommend Mamma Pizza for a good Italian indulgence in Oslo city.

I dont see why anybody would give this place a bad review. We were here on September 13, 2025. Extraordinarily great food, friendly stuff and a great location. We had to wait for 40 minutes because we didnt have a reservation but it was well worth it! If we ever visit Oslo again we will eat here. PS: Give the guy who was managing the queue outside a raise. Such a friendly, patient guy and very helpful!!

A lovely spot with a nice view of the square. They offer a wide variety of fish dishes. I tried the fish gratin with potatoes, which was good. Service was a bit slow, and orders took some time to arrive. It would be great if the restaurant considered that some people may avoid dishes cooked with alcohol.

The restaurant is amazing!!! We went there on Saturday lunch without reservation. Luckily that the waiter managed to get us a shared table with another solo customer. The ambient is nice. Small but cozy and feel relaxed to eat. The food was so so good! We ordered fish and chips, creamy mussels, fish soup and fish gratin. All food is delicious especially fish and chips and all french fries that are super crispy. The mayonnaise with garlic is super nice to dip the fries with! The waiter is friendly and attentive. Price is reasonable. We really love this restaurant and highly recommend if you come to Oslo.

It’s a nice place to have some good quality food. I’ve ordered Fish&Chips for dinner and it was simple yet delicious. Fish was done really well and portion was big enough to get full and I literally didn’t eat all day. I paid 424 Kr for Fish&Chips and a cider. We had to point out the mistake ourselves. Our oysters were delivered to the wrong table, and instead of one fish soup and one fish & chips, we received two soups. Overall, it felt disorganized. This restaurant is located close to the Munch Museum, almost on the waterfront, with views stretching across the harbor toward the cruise ships and the sunset. It’s a lovely spot for dinner if you want to enjoy the evening light – the sunset was spectacular when we visited, and it really added to the charm of the experience. The food is simple and decent, though not remarkable, and the service is efficient without being particularly memorable. Prices are fair considering the prime location. Although Finn Air cancelled my boarding without any reason (well the only reason was they overbooked the plane) and costed me 1500 more to buy another ticket back to Taiwan, I am still quite happy that I choose Seaport to have my last meal in Oslo. The mussels are really tasty, the bread and the wine are really good too. Love the kind staff and his passionate service vibe. While the last experience with Finn Air was very terrible (They did not reply my complaint and no compensation till now… well more than 40 days!) but I love Oslo and hope to come back there soon!

Villa Paradiso Grünerløkka was an okay place to eat pizza and a few other Italian dishes. I ordered meatballs, and as is customary in Italy, nothing else comes with it except bread. Quite pricey compared to the size, so if you are hungry, this is not the place. More a place to enjoy a wine, friends, and snacks like this.

We had to wait over 40 minutes after we made our order and nothing came. While all others around us got pizza almost after 5 minutes. The two waiters outside where so busy that it was hard to get to talk to them, when we finally asked how more we need to wait for the food, well, then it took just the time for the waiter to get inside and bring us the plates. Good atmosphere, even if always quite full, and quite good food, but we weren’t lucky with the service. 😌

Pizza was pretty decent but very small for what we paid. Regular pizzas were only slightly larger than the children's pizza (see photo). Lovely interiors and great to sit outside facing the square though.

We've lived in Grünerløkka for several years and this is one of our go to places when getting a quick bite of food at a decent price. If I was able to rate the pizza 4.5 I would since its not the best I've had but we're always happy with the food. Haven't tried anything else than the pizza.

Villa Paradiso has a solid and authentic menu and atmosphere. The food is really good and the kitchen is authentic italian style. My favourites are the quattro formaggi and the tiramisu. Nice weather and weekend? Book a table, or walk by early on a weekday. Enjoy a taste of Italy here at Grünerløkka.

The restaurant is looking very well, it has a nice atmosphere. The serving is kindly. The food arrived quick and it was tasty. It has an entrance from the station and one from outside. The drinks looks nice. The prices are regular for Oslo.

Really fun atrium space with old world charm. Reservation recommended. My gluten free pizza was perfectly prepared. Our waitress was amazingly attentive. It was walking distance from our hotel, and is near the Library and Opera. Very conveniently located.

Got here after a long flight from NY. Experienced one of the worst experiences of my life. My husband had a migraine and was resting his head on the table. I had ordered a caprese salad and the beef tagliatelle pasta. The manager came up to us to say my husband shouldn’t rest his head on the table because it doesn’t “look nice”. Not sure if it was because we were visibly brown but I’ve never had a restaurant manager be flat out rude like this. For what I expected to be a relaxing meal, turned out to be hostile and unwelcoming. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Having previously dined at Olivia on Karl Johans gate, I was excited to visit the Østbanehallen location, and it did not disappoint! Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. We opted for some delicious pizzas, which were perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients and traditional flavors. Each bite transported us straight to Italy. To top off our meal, we indulged in an exquisite chocolate soufflé that was simply divine – the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. The service was exceptionally fast and incredibly friendly. The staff made us feel right at home, adding to the warm, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. Kudos to the entire team at Olivia Østbanehallen! Black Pepper King Crab – sweet, juicy, and just plain kingly. Every bite was a happy dance. Bottom line? Forget the drama, just come here and eat—because it’s downright delicious.

It is a bit small but the food is amazing. Calamari is super fresh, spicy scampi is buttery and well seasoned. King crab is sweet and spicy, it was kind of a suprise. But we tried many seafood restaurants this weekend and this one is our favorite.

We went to Mathallen Hall to get dinner but didn’t know where we should eat, and this restaurant was only seafood option, so we decided to try. Ended up probably this was my most favorite restaurants we tried in Norway. (We stayed only Oslo and Bergen) Bucket of mussels are usually fresh in Norway. The fish soup is the one really showing the character of the restaurant, and I really loved their fish soup. This fish soup was my most favorite fish soup I’ve had in Norway. (I tried 3 different fish soups.) We are very satisfied with our first meal of Norway.

Place is easy to locate! I was seated at the bar which was busy .. nonetheless quite vibrant. The place was beaming with people so a popular joint. I had grilled Salmon which was excellent! And fish soup as starter which was very tasty and full.pf flavour.

Walked in to this hidden gem, minutes before they were closing and was presently surprised by both the food and hospitality. Every ingredient tasted fresh and added a different element to the dish. The portion size was perfect as well. A must try for Mexican lovers when in Oslo.

It was my first time dining in at Freddy Fuego Burrito today and I was satisfied 😊 I ordered "Beef Burrito Bowl" and didn't regret it! The beef was very tender and the veggies were fresh, easily a must-have dish 😋 The staff were very friendly and helpful. I have over many years been here many times to eat and I have recommended the place to my Air bnb guests and through my Oslo Tourist App and since I had not been here for some time I picked it as my place to have my birthday dinner and since I was last here lots have changed. This time around the food was not something I would serve to people in my own home, the Patatas Bravas was half raw and the Chorizo was to flambated but tasted like yesterdays forest fire. The bread was ok. Very disappointing for an old friend.

We had 5 tapas for 2 people and payed around 650 NOK, no drinks. From what we had, I highly recommend the Sandwich (it doesn’t seem to be nothing special but it has a great taste that evokes Spanish cuisine), the Chicken Wings (not very Spanish, but surprisingly tasty), and the Pan con Tomate. The Pimientos de Padrón where to salty for my taste and not grilled enough, and the Lion’s Mane had a very strong taste with a sauce that was a bit heavy and didn’t resemble to Spanish flavors (based on what I’ve tried at Spain). It was fun to try it, but it’s not a place where we would likely come back to. Tapas are of course small, so it’s pricey for what you get.

We ate here by chance as my son needed to use the closest toilet. We took a chance and decided to have lunch here. It was hard to understand the lady as to what the special lunch menu was so we just ordered off of the normal menu. Food was really nice and tasted authentic. Spice levels were really good even for someone who is originally from the UK and loves a good curry. We aren’t the biggest of eaters portion wise but this was what I would consider as a very small portion of food so if you have a good appetite order two portions. Maybe there was a lack of communication but we were only given one naan bread between the three of us. We couldn’t be bothered to go back inside and ask for more as we sat outside to eat.

By far the best restaurant in Oslo .. you won’t be disappointed and the taste is amazing .. we keep coming back always as we know it will be good .. We recommend it to anyone who loves Indian cuisine.

I tried Punjabi Tandoori and the Lamb Karahi was outstanding – so good that I ended up ordering it twice. The meat was tender, no gaminess at all, and the masala flavor was spot on. The regular Chicken Karahi was just okay, and the Chicken Tandoori was also just okay – honestly, their chicken isn't the best quality. But the lamb is absolutely the star here and worth coming back for. On top of that, the man at the counter was very pleasant and made the experience better.

The only good thing is the price. The rest is horrible. A dirty and brightly lit room, except for half of the place where the lights didn’t work. The waiter (who was very nice) forgot to give us cutlery (we were alone in the Resturant). The food bland and felt unfresh. The toilets couldn’t be locked, and the handle for the tap on the sink fell off. The white door was black on the edges from all dirty hands that had tried to lock it over the years. Will never visit again.

Celebrated my birthday here 🥳 This themed restaurant was fun, lively and welcoming. The varying menu option makes you want to try everything they offer. Some dishes such as the truffle pasta was a hit, the rest were so so. Don’t go for the plant dessert, not worth it. As for the service, there isn’t really one as you do everything yourself. From ordering to picking up your food and paying for your food (all done in the app).

Overall, the experience was pleasant. You need to place your food and drink orders through the phone app and pay at the end. Some of the dishes were quite tasty, while others weren’t as impressive. Just a heads-up, the portions are on the smaller side, so you might want to order extra or double up on servings.

First off, this place is loads of fun! Whimsically decorated, and welcoming. The food the three of us ate - salads, ribs, spring rolls, etc. - was well executed and very tasty. The drinks were excellent, and overall the price for the evening was well inside our budget and our anticipation. That said, the service got a low rating 'cuz it was us. For everything: each round of drinks, and each round of food. I got tired of having to wait my own table. Also, everything is much smaller than we had thought by looking at the photos. The silverware, the dishes, the food. But all in all, a fun place well worth a visit.

The waffles are good indeed, but the people working there are showing such lack of interest. I mean, the red hair girl is doing everything but the guy working with her, a bit long hair, moustache and brunette, is not helpful at all, he is mostly playing with the food, speaking continuously about random stuff, not taking orders in time, everything that you ask he is just rolling his eyes. We didn’t had a pleasant experience on sunday. But on last tuesday we had a great one with the red hair girl working alone honestly. Maybe you should train him in hospitality and he should probably start working not only staring, talking non sense stuff.

Stockfleths is a classic Oslo coffee spot with consistently great quality. The coffee is smooth and well-prepared, and their pastries are just as impressive. I had a fresh cinnamon bun with delicate cardamom notes that was absolutely exquisite. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and efficient. A wonderful place to enjoy a great coffee and a treat in the city.

lovely little shop. Coffee was solid, but the egg salad sandwich was incredible. It was on some of the best sliced bread I've had in Norway. I realized I'd eaten it all before I could take a photo.

An overall good choice of a simple meal. Hard to say this is one of the best burgers in Oslo, but it doesn’t let us down as well. The burgers we got have the right ingredients, good combinations of flavors, just lacking the one last touch to be super good. Beer shake is an interesting choice, first time to try, and it does have hops taste. Service is good, and the dishes are served fairly quickly.

I visited this location after finding it recommended on the Find Me Gluten Free app as safe for coeliacs. On arrival, I made sure to ask about gluten free options, cross-contamination, and whether this could be communicated clearly to the kitchen. While the staff member did reassure me, I did feel a little brushed off when asking about the details, which was a bit discouraging. The burger itself looked amazing – I ordered the cheese and bacon burger with a gluten free bun (extra cost) and fries, which I was told were cooked in a separate fryer. The food was delicious, and visually it was spot on. Unfortunately, about 20 minutes after eating I began experiencing discomfort, and by the next morning I had clear coeliac symptoms. I hadn’t eaten out anywhere else that day, so I believe something must have gone wrong with cross-contamination, despite reassurances. I really want to highlight this because the food and concept are great, but safety for coeliacs depends on absolute clarity and care in the kitchen. Please, if possible, ensure staff are trained to handle these conversations with understanding and that the processes for avoiding cross-contamination are rock solid. To others with coeliac disease: I’d recommend asking very detailed questions before ordering here, and please share your own experiences so we can help the community stay safe while still enjoying eating out.

I got the Blamandag burger, and it was just a bit too much. I really struggled to eat it without making a mess. Very tasty, but three napkins messy. The Schous pilsner was excellent.

It was raining and this place was the first place closes to us that was open yesterday so we decided to have dinner here. When we were greeted at the door the lady in the door was very rude and seemed very stressed something that made the first impression not good, then when we got seated, the personal was giving us a better experience at the table, but our first impression was already ruined by the lady in the door unfortunately. The burgers was amazing, and the place was very chic. Just the minus about the first entrance. I’m not sure if we would come back if we get that type of welcome in the door. Had a spontaneous lunch at this American style restaurant, from start to finish the server was very friendly, the food was tasty and arrived quickly, and everything was fairly priced, can't complain about anything!

For the price I expect more of the food. Tartar was really good, but the hallibut was a bit overcooked and did not taste super fresh. The rest of the main dish was ok, but nothing special: The merengue was also overcooked. Strawberries were really nice

Was excited to try this place as the menu looked promising, and the restaurant had very positive reviews. Unfortunately, the food was not for me. For lunch, we ordered the Champignon Forestiers (mushrooms on brioche bread, with truffle shavings and poached egg), the Sandwich Au Boeuf (grilled sourdough with braised beef loin), and Sweatshirt (Trout). First impressions for all three dishes - I did not expect such large amounts of greens. For the Sweatshirt / Trout dish, the zucchini and salad tasted as though it was mildy coated with wasabi, which was not indicated anywhere on the menu, and therefore an unpleasant surprise and assault to my taste buds. The Trout was cooked fine, nicely salted with a nice crisp skin. The sauce was decent as well, buttery with hints of chives. Overall acceptable, but nothing to write home about. For the Champignon Forestiers, I was hoping for the taste of the mushrooms to come through. However, it didn't leave any impression, and the brioche had less butter content than I would have preferred. There is no distinct flavour to this dish, I found it rather unbalanced and overall quite forgettable. And the worst of the lot, was the Sandwich Au Boeuf. First off, when the menu said salad, I expected the salad to be on the side, and not literally on the main dish. That aside, the beef was extremely dry and bland, I can't believe this is loin (sorry to say but the beef was so dry that it tasted like leftovers). Personally, I felt that putting the salad on top of the beef made the dish very cold and difficult to eat. Doing that also steals away the attention of the star ingredient, which should be the braised beef loin. The pickled tomatoes and onions were uninspiring and the restaurant could have done better with the seasoning of the pickle solution. We took less than three bites and returned the dish unfinished. Perhaps I came on a bad day, but this place does poorly in reflecting French food. The menu looked inspiring, and I was genuinely so excited to dine here. To my dismay, the food was overall very unappetizing (it did not help that some of the food was served lukewarm, possibly because of the salad), disappointing, and left much to be desired. Perhaps the dinner menu is better? Food aside, ambiance was very nice and this place is a stones throw away from the Munch museum. Service was professional, albeit curious as to why the waitress would seat two diner groups closely together despite the whole restaurant being empty. It is a small matter, but attention to detail would help with the overall dining experience. Most people would like to have some sort of privacy for their conversations when dining, and it would be more appropriate to leave some spacing in between tables / diners.

Central located near the Operahouse and Munch museum. French brasserie with excellent food and a friendly an service minded staff.

We had a set menu with recommended wines. The lobster soup was the best. It had the right amount of flavor together in a good balance. The fish and meat dishes were also good, which had decent portions, and obviously the chef put his thoughts into how to combine the ingredients. Dessert was ok. Wines were presented nicely, good service in general.

The starters were excellent, we really enjoyed the oysters, langoustine and scallops. The mains however were a pity. I ordered the fish of the day which was a cod on a risotto base but it was way too salty for my taste. Regretfully, I sent it back because I couldn’t stomach it but I have to commend the customer service. They immediately offered to remake or change the dish for me and I wasn’t charged for it. They suggested that the sauce for the turbot dish I got as a replacement to be on the side instead of directly on the fish and I really appreciated that foresight because the new sauce was still a tad salty for my taste. I enjoyed the replacement dish on its own. Despite the slight mishap we still enjoyed our experience at Brasserie Rivoli.

Elegant food, staff excellent.wine knowledge good. Serving size brings it down to a4.5. A touch more I give it a 5.

Wonderful, atmospheric bar where the outside does not prepare you for what’s on the inside. Reasonable prices for Norwegian standards, with a nice selection of beers and wines. Highly recommended!

I loved here! Huge outdoor and indoor areas, lovely staff, a fair beer selection and plenty of plants decorating everywhere; it's just amazing. This place has some Berlin vibe and could be the best beer garden in Oslo. In summer, it is better to sit outside of course. You don't have to book, but just try to come here a little earlier to get the best spots :-)

When I want to have a cozy chill time with my friends, I usually go here. Winter or summer, this place has always good vibes, and there are people of all ages. The light inside is a bit dim, and the place has very interesting decorations and boardgames around some tables. So this makes it a very good place for friends or even dates. The selection of beer is great, just a little bit more expensive than the bars around. Unfortunately they don’t have food, but I know that you can bring your own food and eat at the tables outside while drinking. So nice!

The drink selection here is only okay, but it more than makes up for it with its large space and interesting vibe. If I ever come back to Oslo, I will definitely look to come back here. - - - - - We were initially rather disappointed when we asked for a cocktail list and we got nothing, just something along the lines of "We can do simple cocktails". So don't come here if you're looking for fun, unique cocktails. Maybe it was just that particular bartender, because when I asked about their beer selection he didn't seem to know anything... But in general the bottled/canned/draft selection seemed pretty large. The space itself is big; lots of seating, larger/small tables, some indoor/outdoor (with heat lamps), and several rooms. The decor is an odd yet interesting mix of geography, anatomy, and industrial fixtures. Very hipster-y vibes, but by no means pretentious in my book. There were a few board games scattered around, and some cards, so you can probably play some games while you destroy brain cells.

Weekend drinks. Great space indoor and out, and nice beer selection complemented by knowledgeable staff. The sour recommendation (purple rain) was fantastic. You can also bring food in so it’s an overall great spot to hang out for a while.

We only enjoyed the drinks here, but I'm sure the food is good. The best about this place is the ambience. There are seats outside, but go inside and explore the interior which is very interesting.

It was the first meal we had after arriving in Oslo, somehow we just bumped into the restaurant and went without restaurant. It was a quiet night but they had groups in the second floor. We ordered monkfish, and beef with gnocchi. All the food were delicious. I like the monkfish the best among all, the fish was so fresh and you can felt it with the first bite! Staff were working hard to explain the dishes to us in english, which is kind of cute. Overall its a good experience!

Looked for a nice restaurant to celebrate and found this highly rated one so decided to try it, it did not disappoint. I ordered the 3 course menu, everything was absolutely amazing. I shouldn't have ordered beer cos I couldn't finish the main course is the only mistake I made. I wanted to lick the plates clean. I also wanted to eat slowly and savour it for hours but unfortunately the dining period is timed. Appetizer, main course and the dessert were super delicious. I am no food critic but this is Michelin star level restaurant. Absolutely must try if you don't mind spending a bit more.

We came here because restaurants nearby were fully booked and could not take us without a reservation. We definitely were surprised by the quality of the food and service. Every plate had a unique presentation and flavor. I truly recommend the gnocchis and the cod!

Was the last restaurant we ate at one our Norway trip and was one of our favorites! The lobster roll and beef tartar were amazing and the gnocchi was some of the best I have ever had! The service was also phenomenal! I wish we found this place before our last day in town, I would have loved to have ate here more than once!

Nice restaurant in the center of Oslo, close to the Opera, the Munch Museum and the railway station. We had the 5-course menu, and were very satisfied with both dishes and service. The baked halibut was a bit "overcooked", but otherwise everything was good. They also offer wine pairing, but we bought a bottle of wine instead.

We chose Code for this anniversary based on the good recommendations we saw online, so expectations were high. Our group of 10 people is very satisfied. The food with wine package was beyond expectations, exquisite. The chef's presentation of the meal, and the service follow-up and ability to adapt this to allergies and strange wishes regarding drinks that deviated from the package. Code can only be recommended.

It's a great experience visiting this bar. Beautiful interior, the service was spotless, and we got a free snack from them as well. The cocktails we ordered were nice but we somehow we were hoping for more mind refreshing tastes though

I’ve been a regular at Svanen and have always enjoyed your bar. Recently, I visited with a friend to celebrate your recognition as the World’s 50 Best Bars (finally). However, my experience tonight was disappointing. Upon entering, the bartender (identified as Rumen) greeted us but immediately shifted his attention to his friends who were in line behind us. Although there was an empty table in the front, we were told it was reserved. Shortly after, Rumen seated his friends at that same table (as shown in the photo below). When I asked him about it, he said they had made a reservation. As a regular guest, I’m aware that Svanen does not take table reservations after 20:00. When I pointed this out, he replied, “Oh, they just sent me a message.” (Lie again, as he was surprised to his friends when they were lining behind us). He was unprofessional, dishonest, and unfair. So we left and went to Himkok instead. I understand that your staff may wish to accommodate his friends, but the way this was handled, with dismissiveness and attitude, was not in keeping with the level of service I expect from Svannen. I’m sharing this feedback constructively, as I’ve always valued Svannen and enjoyed coming here. However, if this type of service continues, you will soon lose your regulars and fall out of world best 50. Edit: Your reply to this review blatantly fabricated a story and accused us of things we did not do. To your suggestion, we sent the incident, with documentation and photos, to the World’s 50 Best Bars team, and you were CC’ed. The photo will not be deleted, as every face is mosaic and privacy is respected.

Outstanding cocktails in a cosy atmosphere. They were happy to mix up custom cocktails exactly as requested and they nailed it. Will definitely return.

A very nice experience in the heart of Oslo. Lovely staff, very attentive with warm smile. There are a lot options for the cocktails. Personally not over the moon for the cocktail, since the prices are not cheap, but the overall experience is worth it.

Perfect place for a coffee and sweet treat after browsing the local art galleries! After doing some Googling and finding this place we decided to pay a visit. There’s a huge variety of doughnuts available to choose from and lots of seating. The coffee is truly delicious and doughnuts are some of the best I’ve had. Unfortunately, I had waffled down the doughnut before I could take a picture. Would visit again. Highly recommend!

We were visiting from the states and this shop was recommended to us. They without a doubt have some of the best donuts my wife and I have ever had. They also did an amazing cup of coffee. The owner, Talor couldn’t have been nicer. We had a wonderful conversation with them and even got a recommended itinerary for how to spend our last day in Oslo. If you are visiting Oslo, this is a must stop.

Talormade serves great coffee and has quite a few vegan donuts to choose from! I ended up coming here multiple times with my husband and our friends while visiting Oslo, which included getting some donuts for the flight back home. We split all four of the vegan flavors offered at the time we dined in to try one of each. Our favorite was the chocolate sprinkle donut, but all were delicious!

Probably the best doughnut I’ve ever eaten - incredibly soft - 100% recommend. Really varied selection and friendly service. Good labelling of allergies. Service: Incredibly attentive. Owner has a really interesting story and has clearly built something great. Food: Highly recommend the cinnamon doughnut and the smash doughnut. Also tried the mango slushy which really refreshing and not overpoweringly sweet. Atmosphere: High quality and comfy setting to have a coffee and doughnut.

The Reuben sandwich is absolutely amazing! The meat is juicy, the cheese perfectly melted, and the sauerkraut adds just the right kick – all served on fresh, crispy bread. A true explosion of flavors! On top of that, the service is super friendly, fast, and professional. You can really feel the passion behind what they do. Definitely a place worth visiting – I’ll be back for sure!

The staff and atmosphere were nice. Friendly and cozy. Unfortunately following a plant-based diet, there are not a lot of options. They have one sandwich that is vegan, but to be honest it is a bit basic. Their other sandwiches look like they have put more effort and I wish they were able to do the same with the vegan sandwich as well. The fries and pickles were good though.

Such a delicious and juicy sandwich! We ordered the Patty Melt, Fried Chicken Sandwich and Deli Fries. Bread was crispy yet soft. Sauce wasn’t too spicy, just right.

This is hands down my favorite place in Oslo. There is no place like this in the city. It is truly one of a kind. I have ordered a different item on the menu every time I have been there and they never seem to disappoint. All the sandwiches are mouth watering and their coffee is amazing. Also the employees are so nice and welcoming. I see some people complain about the prices, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I would honestly pay more. The crazy delicious food, the quality coffee, the kind people, the chill atmosphere - this place speaks to my soul ❤️

Great collection of sandwiches and amazing sides. Tried their patty melt, fried chicken and Tuna sandwiches and they were all great. The wine collection is also amazing..you get some really good aged wine here for reasonable price. The restaurant lies in the old suburbs of grunlokka and easy to reach this place from central.

Real Greenwich Village feel. A bit tiny ok seating outside. But when your food is good, they will come. And that’s true of this place. I tried the pastrami being from the NY area. Was very good. Not Kat’s, but exceptional nonetheless. You can always tell a great eatery when opening hours are like 4pm-7pm and sometimes this place is like that. It’s food swag 😎 They got the great stuff. They know you’re coming. 8/10

A great place to visit for lunch. With a very authentic deli menu with good sandwiches and sides. Even offering a variety of delicious breakfasts. What I do not like is that they have very few tables and most of the time it is always very full. And take-out can be a little slow to prepare. Overall a good place for a Saturday or Sunday brunch! And close to a lot of chick second hand shops and boutiques as a side note.

Worth more than a visit if you’re visiting the city in summer. Great live music, talented artists, in a cosy and underground atmosphere at the same time. Loved to enjoy a drink along the canal. Def recommended ✨

This spot is in a super vibrant area of Oslo, and I heard they host live music concerts every Sunday from 4 PM to 3 AM. how cool is that? I loved the energy, the vibe, and the whole experience. Definitely planning to come back again!

Great venue with loads of exciting events! Been here regularly for the free concerts on Sundays, as well as on the 17th of May. Loved it every time!

We saw a great band here as part of Oslo’s Jazz Festival. It’s a funky venue with a good vibe.

We went there Sunday night and had a total blast! Great atmosphere. Great music. Nice crowd. Don’t miss that Sunday night show!

Fantastic concert venue. Intimate and warm, accoustic works very well. International artists often perform there. Friendly staff and decent drinks.

Wonderful location by the Canal. The Oslo jazz festival was on when we visited and it made it even more lively and fun
