Lovely location away from the centre of town on a Sunday evening and attentive service. A superb Negroni and white wine with excellent Iberica ham and toasted/tomato bread. A really different kind of bar. We will return.

We came to Sunset Jazz Bar on our first afternoon in Girona after landing from London. Emma greeted us with very good margaritas, delicious jamon iberico and a lovely conversation. She gave us recommendations for the best non-touristy beach to go to, and few of the great spots to eat. We came back on our last evening to say thank you and ordered exactly the same as pictured, still 10/10. Our only regret is coming in the summer where we just missed the weekly jazz night on Thursday. We'll be back!

Wonderful place! Friendly, welcoming and very accommodating staff. Delicious cocktails and very good natural wines. The musical agenda is great. Girona is very lucky to have such an incredible place.

I really enjoyed this place when going for a jazz concert. I thought there was a great atmosphere, the service was great and the cocktails were amazing. I had a couple of amazing gin cocktails (in that giant goblet) and I also had a cava and gin cocktail which was to absolutely incredible. The place looks beautiful, decorated with dark red and stony walls. We sat at the bar after the concert and it was just really nice.

Great Irish bar in down town Girona. Stopped off to watch the Premier League game and had some delicious food also. Great drinks and nice staff.

Whoever is in charge let your servers know that throwing the plastic tray on the table when we were preparing to leave and someone was still at the table with a drink still not finished, it a stupid move and I regret giving the tip.. it was too late sadly. Foff

A really enjoyable evening at McKiernans. Good food and friendly staff

Enjoyed a relaxing few hours at McKiernans in Girona while we watched Man Utd lose to Arsenal. Prices for drinks were higher than average, as per usual with an irish bar, but not extortionate. The kitchen opened at 6.30, we had the OG burger, chicken wings and pulled pork sandwich, all were delicious and prices were fairly reasonable. Bar staff were friendly and attentive. Match commentary wasn't too loud which I enjoyed but apparently soccer fans don't.

Delicious food, definitely way better than I expected. Very good service, although not too fast - the terrace is big and in a very concurred street, so it makes sense you'd have to wait a bit. A bit pricey, mainly the drinks (2'40€ for a bottle of water). Very good experience in general, a bit on the expensive side but it's to be expected of a touristy place like this. Would recommend.

Amazing food, super helpful staff really inviting and well priced food! We came here for tea one evening and enjoyed a nice alcohol free beer too! Highly recoomend the chicken wings!!!

Really nice vibes and crowd for a late beer or two

One of the highlights of our trip to Girona night life wise. Great cocktails, service and live Rumba music. Doesn't get going till late in evening but it's a blast.

We sat down on a whim, and did not regret our decision. The home-made vermouth is an absolute must to taste, the charcuterie tapas were enough for us 2 as a small lunch. When back in Girona, we know where to go!

Good atmosphere, sometimes they let too many people in and you can't move. But otherwise it is great.

I had the oxtail which was disappointing. Tasteless and not tender. What was even more disappointing was the pricing and billing. On the menu, inside and outside the oxtail was listed as €15.95, and tomato bread €3.50. When the bill arrived these items were listed as €17.50 and €3.85 respectively. I didn't pick up the error on the tomato bread until afterwards but queried the oxtail. Waitrons response was that prices are different between inside and outside. She said this was specified on the menu outside. I clarified that she had given me a menu inside and the price was €15.95. I ordered on that basis. Of all the years of dining around the world I have never encountered a different price inside vs outside especially when the menus are the same, in and out. This seems like an opportunistic rip off of a tourist with a really weak response when the error was detected.

Girona is full of night bars and pubs, most of them cater to the 'posh' public in the city, with elevated prices and questionable admittance policies. Cu-cut is not one of those places, it's one of the last 'traditional' pubs remaining. You'll find mostly a local crowd, students, residents, workers...enjoying their time. They have a good selection of beers and liquors and the prices are not too high. It can get a bit noisy. If you want to have a drink with a cheerful crowd is one of the best options in the historical center of the city.

Great experience. Drinks are not outlandishly priced—standard for a club. Service was very good and the bouncer was very friendly, even though I didn't speak Spanish or Catalan—he did his job well and let me back in after I stepped outside with my friends and had a cigarette, and even engaged in some conversation with us. My only two small complaints were that the DJing was a little erratic: the song choice was great, but the DJ would change songs a little too frequently, sometimes even only playing a verse and a chorus of one song before switching to the next on the queue. Additionally some of the transitions were not subtle in the slightest and the tempo and key changes stood out sometimes. The other small complaint is that it took a while to build the energy up. I arrived an hour after the club opened, when it was already 1am, but the club was not lively until after 3am. Perhaps this is normal in Spain and Catalonia. Other than the above, the experience was very good. The song choice itself was solid, with hits ranging from the last 25 years mostly to the latest releases. Bartenders and staff knew what they were doing and were efficient in any servings and clean-ups, and there were many young people dancing energetically.

They are so rude. Bodyguards are so so rude. They treat as an animal. They do not let me go outside to get some fresh air and yesterday they punched my friend in the face for asking why dont you let me out. Do not waste your money for them. You will not have a good night.

The location is really superb! It is like in a movie! Big plus that it is open till 00:00. But the food was not tasty at all. I ordered fish with peas purée and sweet pancakes with strawberry. Fish was very greasy and almost no spices, and puree was tasting like raw flour…when I asked to add some salad with vegetables without onion (but any kind of vegetables including cucumbers etc) I got a strange plate of peas and carrot with no spices. Pancakes were tasteless too, only strawberries were fine lol. The waitress with black hair (Bushere / Bu) was the only one serving me (she seems to be the only one working here normally) other waiters (around 3 of them) were ignoring me even when I looked at them. I was waiting for any waiter to come for 20 min to take my order… and before I was not given any menu, u had to ask for it. Moreover, another waitress (black woman) was super unpleasant with her behavior, the way how she brought me glass of water and took my dishes was very disrespectful. Additionally, normally you shouldn’t wait in the restaurant too long for waiter to come and ask if you need anything else / or you want to pay. Here I waited forever, no one really came back to me to check. Restaurant doesn’t have English menu. The smell inside the restaurant is not good - a strong smell of detergent like bleach (on tables). I hope this place will reconsider the staff and will make it a good spot for visitors not only because of the location. I expected tasty food how it should be and standard service but instead I got neither of this. Sad.

The terrace and location could not be beaten. The servers were lovely also, translating the Catalan menu, and taking the food back. But the food was underwhelming. I ordered the steak with duck liver pate, medium rare. But it came fully cooked through. I sent it back, and this time there was a little pink on the inside - still not right. The pate was delicate and couldn’t be tasted on the steak. I would avoid this dish.

This place came highly recommended. Food is very competent and service is decent. We each had to order a set and seating on the terrace was not available, which might have been a more of a highlight. All in all no regrets eating here. Great value for money.

The scenery is amazing, service was very good, and the food is such an experience. I would highly recommend to try the “pates” that they have, it was the best I’ve had in Spain

Fantastic menu. A must stop on your walk around Girona. Right in front of a Game of Thrones spot.

We had lunch at this place and were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is very cozy, and although the outside terrace, which is usually picturesque, wasn't available at that time, we were comfortably seated inside. Opting for the daily menu turned out to be an excellent choice. The dishes were exceptional: the pumpkin soup was velvety and delicious, and the grilled meat was simply amazing. For dessert, I ordered cheese with honey, and to my delight, it tasted exactly like the Russian "творог с медом." Overall, it was a great experience!

I am amazed at the quality of food and service as well as the atmosphere. It felt authentic and high-class at the same time. The staff were friendly and the food was very good.

We recently tried La Terra for a late lunch. The view is lovely. The decor of the place is dated yet kind of charming. The server was very nice and they did seem to be short staffed, maybe due to the holiday season. The burgers were fine, we didn’t love the chip crumbs as the side. The desert and coffee were rich and delicious.

After strolling the city walls and the Old Town Booth decided it was beer o'clock. Madge fancied a chocolate cake and a spinach quiche. Sadly the pastry was very soggy. Mary Berry would not approve. The chocolate and raspberry cake was a lot better. Enjoyed the San Miguel. Like the traditional interior. Good views over the river. Good music so stayed for a second beer as The Doors entertained me. ( In Girona why don't they play The Knack? Their 1979 hit!)

I am not going to lie, I visited this place because a scene in the Korean drama "Memories of Alhambra " was filmed here, that said there were no traces of Hyun Bin or the filming... and it did not have the same bathroom as the dram. But that didn't make the visit less charming for a fangirl like me... The service, beer, sandwiches, and nuts were good, too.

Don’t walk run to this iconic Cathedral. The steps are wonderful to sit and people watch and soak in the Game of Thrones feeling. Inside is grand. The cloisters in the garden are lovely to sit and cool off. I bought the 3 in 1 ticket so no need to line up… go to the tourism office in Girona first. They are so helpful. Quite wonderful.

Lovely cathedral and nice to see where they filmed some of the game of thrones. The walk on the wall surrounding it is quite something and worth doing. If you more in depth information it's probably worth going on a small guided tour.

This is a must see in Girona, from its Gothic architecture to its history and modern-day GOT references. There is something for everyone! While a bit crowded, it never felt overwhelming and we were able to enjoy the climb up the stairs and the views.

A must visit if in Girona especially if you are a game of thrones fan. Jaime rode his horse partially up the stairs which is very impressive. Word is it took 2 weeks to train the horse. Inside is a small museum and amazing architecture for your entry fee. Views from top of stairs are really cool.

I had a fairly negative experience when visiting this cathedral which was a shame. I was approached by some men on the street and shouted at, which took away from the natural beauty and atmosphere of the cathedral, i was warned by locals not to be in the area by myself and they walked me back to the centre of Girona. I think if you are in a group or with a friend it is definitely worth a visit, I was just unlucky, and maybe be a bit more alert if you are a solo female traveller too!

I think the café is great. The food is fantastic; I had a bagel with avocado for breakfast. The latte tasted great, highly recommended! The atmosphere is great, it's very cozy to sit outside on the small square and enjoy the sun. Inside also looks really cool, super quaint. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. You don't need to book in advance, you just need a bit of luck.

Randomly found this restaurant with a high rating in Girona. And that was really surprising. The place has a nice story over the owners, really nice to know about them. The food was not just delicious but is really pretty, the atmosphere is cozy warm and unique. Is just like a dream restaurant I always had in my head. I really recommend it.

Delicious food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere to enjoy it all. We loved the chia bowls! My husband said the coffee is superb and I loved the rooibos tea that I enjoyed with the delicious cinnamon bun. I want to come back to try a bagel sandwich or avocado toast, which look amazing.

Never had such tasty, wholesome, vibrant, and breakfast/brunch. Unlike any place i've ever been. Indoor area is really cool with lots of plants and a moody eclectic decor. The outdoor seating is on the stone stairs outside and is a lovely spot. I visited twice. Once just for coffee and croissant seated outside, and once for a proper last day of holiday breakfast with my wife. Had the breakfast bowl (think warm porrage meets coconut milk chia pudding but with a huge variety of fruits, seeds and edible flowers), and the avocado sourdough toast with frid egg (this had juice tomatoes, micro salad sprouts, sweetcorn and was just a real wholesome colourful plate). The really helpful descriptive glossy menu was more like a descriptive sales booklet with photos. There are also a few pages dedicated to the team and explaining the coffee roasters and the bread guru there - this gave me a sense that they care about values and quality ingredients - the proof of which really was in the eating 😋. I actually cant wait to go on and in about this place to friends... they'll love me lol. Will be back

Excellent breakfast/brunch old-town cafe. International-friendly, broad selection of dishes and baked goods with lots of local sourcing. Cheerful, multi-lingual staff are very helpful and attentive. Source, roast, and proudly serve their own coffees. Leans into cycling theme (it’s Girona), but adds some fun organic homey feel.

The best breakfast I had in a long time, if not ever. Staff makes sure that you have a good time, all smiles and very friendly. English is almost primary language here. All ingredients are local and fresh (on display at the counter) and the coffee is great - the founder couple started 2015 (10 year anniversary this year) with a coffee store (cf Coffee Mafia). We ordered delicious bagels, and fresh bread and even my small one loved the crunchy bread crust (unusual) and avocado topping. I was hammered by the taste of tomato, olive paste, balsamico, burrata bread and would highly recommend this. The love to detail shows in the dishes and every small design aspect of this superbe location. We sat inside as outside was all packed on a Sunday morning. But the bike-themed interior makes for a pleasant sit so you can spare some sun during your memorable stay.

First off, this place looks amazing and has a very cool decor and atmosphere. The food is also on another level - I wish I could visit again and again (but sadly I was in Girona just on a short trip). Vegetarian and vegan options available ❤️ The food is not only presented beautifully, but also tastes amazing, and the staff was very friendly and lovely (we didn't have problems communicating in English). Made a reservation for Saturday night which was very easy. Chose to eat indoors as it was summer. Menu is limited but looked very interesting. A good list of wines available by the glass as well. Told them I had a gluten allergy and they made sure that the dishes i ordered were ok. They even produced a gluten free bread option for our sobrasada dish. For a decent size restaurant, service is a little slow but attentive. We ordered 3 dishes to share between 2 of us with an extra dessert recommended by the staff; along with a dessert wine that complimented it perfectly. If you can appreciate great and delicious food, and have no where to be urgently this is a great restaurant to dine in. Fresh food, a good choice of wines and but attentive service. A definite must try in Girona.

If you want an evening of excellent food and superb wine, this is your destination. We sat outside on a balmy evening. I described the wine I like to drink and was offered two perfect choices. The menu was interesting and our choices delicious. Highly recommend for a delightful night out.

Definitely the best bar in Girona! The Manhattan was perfection, and we were blown away by an exclusive off-menu cocktail, the "Black Royal," based on mezcal -absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is stunning, with a stylish steampunk vibe mixed with classic art deco details. A special shoutout to the amazing bartender, German from Belarus, for making our night unforgettable. Overall, a solid 5/5!

Such a great spot that we randomly came by in Girona. The drinks were amazing, the best cocktails we've ever had. The staff have such passion for their work and it shows. Everyone was so helpful and so nice, my partner described what she liked and they made a cocktail specifically and for her and she loved it.

We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mariona, and she made our visit unforgettable. Not only is she incredibly talented at her craft, but she is also one of the friendliest and most genuine bartenders we’ve ever met. We told her exactly the type of cocktail we were craving, and her craft-master skills whipped it up perfectly—easily one of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. On top of that, we ordered a cheese plate, and Mariona took the time to explain the exact order to enjoy the cheeses in. Her knowledge and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. And the olives—absolutely to die for! We traveled all the way from the United States, and NYKTERI’S was a must-visit on our list after seeing it on Instagram. It did not disappoint. Between the atmosphere, the food, the cocktails, and the warm welcome from Mariona, this spot is a true gem.

As visitors from the United States, we never expected to find the best bar we’ve ever been to right here in Girona. From the moment we sat down, Mariona Vilanova — the friendly and talented owner — greeted us personally. We didn’t even bother looking at the menu; we gave her a few ideas and she craft-mastered the cocktails better than we could have imagined. Between her hospitality, skill, and the unbelievable drinks, NYKTERI’S is an absolute must-visit in Girona.

Highly recommended. There is a selection of tapas and the selection of wine is both classic and new. The craft beer is excellent. Showcasing the classics and some new age wines. We were made very welcome. Back street vibes, warm environment and you can jump striaght in. Very, very happy with the experience and the stories from my visits.

Carlos is the best host you can wish,good service, wonderful beers, big smile, loves his job, full of happy energy!

My glass still had someone else's lipstick on it and when replaced it was still dirty and didn't match my partners (when you pay 20 for a bottle it seems the least you need to do) also the tapas was good but one dish of four was forgotten. Stools are uncomfortable and tables cheap. A 4.8 rating wasn't my experience but the staff are friendly and overall it was ok.

Rio Onyar is a beautiful bridge area in Girona, a small town near Barcelona. This town is so quaint and pretty. I highly recommend a visit here if you have time. The place isn’t packed with people and tourists so it’s a nice place to walk around and see beautiful architecture.

Simply superb find in the heart of Girona. It’s a high end restaurant with classics roots and a playful and well-honed modern technique throughout. We went for a recent lunch last minute and were thoroughly impressed by every single delicious dish and the staffs superb attention to detail. It was wild mushroom season so they had several specials highlighting the bounty of the area. All were great, but the baby squid was as good as it can possibly be! Wonderful and dense wine list focused on local producers at very reasonable prices . Overall a bit expensive but worth it for a top of the line meal on a very relaxed and professional setting.

A true culinary treat. Well deserved Michelin rating. From start to finish, every bite was an delightful experience. The staff is friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The courses are well portioned and the explosion of flavors continues to excite the pallet with each well crafted plate. The restaurant is well decorated with excellent art that gives a relaxing but sophisticated feel. A meal not soon forgotten.

A wonderful culinary experience. Each dish was meticulously prepared, and ingredients were of the finest quality. While each dish stood on their own, the whole tasting menu fit together in great harmony. This restaurant is well-deserved of all its accolades.

It’s an unforgettable meal at Massana. 15 beautiful, decadent and refined dishes. Nothing too fuzzy just great local ingredients that a lot of care has been put into. This is old school fine dining in a beautiful setting. The staff is very attentive and the sommelier recommended beautiful wines. Well deserved Michelin star.

Wonderful experience of the tasting menu- visiting solo and was very well looked after, particularly by Edward who gave fantastic education on the (mainly Spanish) wines to accompany the food. Family-run affair and feels all the more special for it. Highly recommended. Chocolate dessert probably the best I have ever eaten and that’s coming from a chocoholic!

What a great discovery in Girona. Recommended by friends and did not disappoint at all. Great combinations of flavors (meatballs with squid for example), marinated mussels gave a new expression of the seafood. Combined with great service, passionated sommelier and good wines made it superbe evening!

I love Michelin 1* restaurants as they have the quality of a Michelin star but tend to experiment more than the higher stated restaurants. Masan’s did not disappoint! We opted for the pris fix menu and the matched wines. Note there were 15 courses and 12 wines and each pour was a full pour. We especially loved that the wines were all Spanish wines and one craft beer. Each course was excellent and both pleading to the eye as well as palate. We are addicted to the green gazpacho and their wonderful foie gras presentation. But the duck was by far the star as it was prepared perfectly and was sliced so thin and the pears made it perfection. Definitely worth the side trip to Girona for this meal and look forward to returning.

It was much colder here than in Pineda de Mar which is where we are staying. Very windy too! The baths are worth the visit. Very cool representation. There are stairs (some narrow spiral) so may not be great for people with mobility issues.

This restaurant has an amazing vibe. Feels like you were sent back in medieval times. Good tapas, great sangria, good to avoid turistic restaurants!

We waited 45 minutes for 2 Lasagnes, asked 3 times and the waiter made no attempt to explain or apologise. He brought drinks but no bread or Olives and was dismissive. We were not the only diners experiencing this appalling service. We left after 45 minutes, leaving money for our drinks, which I now regret. Never again.

Lovely quiet atmosphere sitting outside. We ordered bread with tomato, manchego cheese, olives, and anchovies. The cheese came with a gorgeous pineapple spread on the side. Everything was delicious and our waiter was very attentive and nice!

Came here after a hike we were starving and then we saw set menu I think it was €15 we were like that’s an absolute steal. Sat down the vibe was funky, all the meals felt very home made, the wine and beer was good. I had the cannelloni with meat, my friend had spinach cannelloni and the other had the roast chicken all so good!

What a great place with tasty food and amazing atmosphere. Unique interior design makes a feel-at-home vibe. Food is served beautifully and with some healthy sides like vegetable with fruit salad etc and all was delicious So another of my recommendations goes to El Pati and most important thanks for amazing and friendly service.

We saw this cute quirky cozy place when strolling around Girona. We had menu day consist of 2 courses + drink + coffee/tea for 15 eur pp. The brie salad is good with figs, apple and radish. The watermelon gazpacho is also tasty. The meat caneloni was warm in the tummy with lots of melting cheese. Baked chicken was tasty. Service is efficient and friendly. The only down side, because we didn't have reservation in advance we got a place upstairs which has uncomfortable seating.

One of the best coffee shops I’ve ever visited. The service was warm and genuine, the coffee was excellent, and the space itself felt calm and comfortable. I couldn’t help but smile when I received my coffee. It arrived with a printed note: a thoughtful phrase in Catalan on one side and a piece of philosophy on the other. A beautiful touch that perfectly captured the spirit of the place.

Probably the best specialty coffee shop in Girona. Located in old town. One recommendation, they should write the date of roasting on their bags. Without it, you can’t know if the optimal periode is over. 12€ for 250gr.

Good coffee, elegant space but wish they had wifi. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but you won’t really get sun on the patio. It’s a well known cafe so can get busy! I appreciate the water station, where you can fill your water bottles if needed!

Was already planning to visit this restaurant a couple of days and finally managed to visit it the last day of my stay. And what a surprise. Excellent atmosphere, very friendly staff, price/quality very good and the interior!!! Really, if you do not want to go for the excellent grill, go and check all the details in the restaurant. You will be surprised. See the pictures I took. This place is full of surprises. Visited about 12 restaurants but only writing if it is really good or bad. This one is really good, alternative, rock music, you can be your own bartender etc. To conclude, full of surprises so just check it out. You will not be disappointed.

the unique selling point of this location, as "el doll", which made it possibly the best bar in girona, was the self service beer taps. they are still at the tables, but we are told they are now "only decorative". this is a huge shame and i would encourage the owner to put them back into service. otherwise this is now just another bar and we have no reason to come here instead of any other in the town.

Nice location on the way up to cathedral, with comfortable outdoor seating under shady trees. The food was good, but we had to wait one hour to eat. The problem didn't lay on the waiters, who came at once to take our order, but on the kitchen which needed such amount of time to prepare a hamburger and canneloni

Had a lovely lunch here in the sun. Was one of the better Caesar salads I’ve had. Sangria a bit weak but staff are lovely. I’ve marked it down because of the bloody pigeons which land on the tables and chairs trying to steal food. Not hygienic at all.

It was my first time in Girona (and Spain) overall. I eventually ended up at this cafe. I spent hours die to the good atmosphere and great staff. Especially Valeria and Dalia are great hosts. I enjoyed a Piña colada and nice Sangria's after that. Had a proper meal as well. A nice way to unwind/relax after arriving from a long day of travelling.

We ordered two beers. After 32 minutes, we still hadn't been served, so we asked the guy who seemed to be the manager where we could get our drinks. He was very arrogant, implying we hadn't ordered anything. When he checked his tablet, he saw that we had. A minute later, he brought us just one beer, rudely, without apologizing or anything.

Great selection of local and regional wines at such a reasonable price. We were in Girona for 4 days and we visited 3 times, Alba and the team were very friendly, knowledgeable and the pinxos were great too!!

Fabulous place for an authentic Catalonian lunch. We chose from the variety of pintxos available, but there was another menu too. The waitress told us how it works - choose your pintxos: the larger sticks cost €4.75, the smaller sticks €4; and at the end, they charge you with how many sticks you have. All the pintxos we had were delicious, it's just a shame we didn't have room to try everyone.

Fantastic tapas/ pintxos bar. Managed to grab a table at lunchtime on Catalan National Day. The pintxos were excellent as was the atmosphere. This is the kind of bar we look for when we are in Spain. We enjoyed it so much we went back in the evening!

Great tapas and wine. You take a seat, order a drink, and then help yourself to tapas from the bar. You pay at the end based on the number of toothpicks on your plate.

Best place ever!! The food is INCREDIBLE! Especially the blue cheese sombrasada!! And the croquettes are the best we have ever had. There were six of us and we came back the next day as was so amazing! Wine is also great and service was outstanding. Thank you we will be back!

We had a lot of fun trying tapas dishes here! We got the half plates of patatas bravas, manchego cheese, chicken wings, and the three cheese with jam. The ambiance is laid back and the open entryway gives it a street dining feel while still being covered. Would recommend trying for tapas with groups of 2-4.

Love this quirky little bar. Fabulous food concept, everything is delicious and so well presented. The staff are great. You have to be prepared to wait as it gets really busy but it's well worth it.

This is a delayed review, which meant to be done in June. We stayed at this nice cute small hotel in Girona because we had a reservation at the restaurant owned by the same owner, which was wonderful (see separate review). The hotel was nice and the room was rather cute. It is difficult to get in since you need to walk a bit (and it was raining when we got there) the service was ok. One guy was very helpful with the baggage but then the next day another guy wouldn’t help us at all, so it’s hard to say. I guess depends on who you get. The breakfast was good, nicely done and with a view.

Delicious cacao. The best quality I’ve tried. With each cup of cacao they bring you roasted chocolate bean, when you break it - there’s 100% natural cacao in it. This is a special experience , very nice touch for every customer. Their candies are absolutely gorgeous! They taste unbelievable, especially hazelnut 🤤 Quite pricey though… Cozy interior. If I’m in Girona again I would 100% come back and try more drinks from menu and other types of candies.

My review is based on the unfortunate timing of Bar/Cafe Casa Cacao being closed during my visit. The website did not notify customers of their 4 day closure from June 6th to 9th. As I was intent on getting some chocolate, I entered the hotel instead. The reception of the lady in charge was cold and unfriendly. She didn't even want to sell chocolates to me. Only after making it clear that I came all the way from London she reluctantly agreed. That's when I should have left. The bonbons I bought were a disappointment to put it mildly. They are sugary and have little flavour of what they promise on the packaging. You bite on sugar. Plus the amount of E numbers and Ultra Processed Ingredients such as Glucose is dizzying. It's overpriced and Jordi Roca does not convince me when it comes to chocolate.

Loved the experience. I would for sure recommend coming to this place for the brunch to anyone who is visiting Girona. I believe that it’s a beautiful way to see the city’s river and bridges. We came here for a birthday celebration on a Sunday and I believe it was the best option. In summer you ll have the empeórense at the terrace! Local wines, cava, vegetarian option, cacao tasting, variety of desserts. Just come and try!

La Garrina Natural Wine Restaurant in Girona is located in the historic center. There is a large terrace outside and a few small tables inside. As well as serving natural wines, beer and cocktails, La Garrina also serves food. The nachos are filling - beans, cheese, chips… delicious. There is a large record collection and a good play list playing in the background. Great place to stop in for a drink or else to stay for awhile. Highly recommend

Great wine, food and atmosphere to spend your end of day. We booked a table for two and could enjoy a few wines and great vegan food. Yes, they have vegan options of cheese and super tasteful olives, huge freshly made empanada, tomato bread.. everything very well made. Their own production of orange wine is a must try. The service can be a bit slow because they have so many people, but really worthy the wait. Thank you!

The wine is great, the service excellent. But the food, I do not know. We ordered nachos that were called "spicy". I believe there is a huge difference between spicy (that me and my husband like) and spicy as hell, painful to eat. After that dish everything tastes like nothing, even wine. It should be clearly stated at the menu, cause I am really worried about my stomach now.

After a few drinks next door Boothroyd and Madge staggered all of 10 meters to this lovely bar. Another small interior space with more tables outside. Enjoyed wine, vermouth and (craft) beer on our visit.

Great combination of selected wine, good beer, excellent books, enjoyable music and art exhibitions. The staff is really kind and helpful. They organize concerts, jam sessions, cultural meetings and book presentations. If you like good food, art and culture, this is the place to go!

This place looked beautiful from the outside and they had a nice enough menu. I got a wine and my friend got cava and it was reasonably priced. We ordered a small taster menu of cheese and meet to keep us going but it took ages to arrive and we had to move to the bar because the main tables were for substantial food orders. It was nice overall but I felt the service was not the best.

We were a bit of a regular while we were on holiday there and everyone was nice and the food was lovely but got spoilt on the last day when a member of staff told my girlfriend off for putting her feet on the stool. We were quite exhausted after walking round the city and we did put a t-shirt under so not to cause a mess. Not that there would be anyway. All this felt really strange as one of the bartender's looked proper scruffy with grubby trousers and a vest. Shame that our otherwise nice experience at this pub got spoilt by poor service.

Cod omelette was surprisingly tasty. They have lots of meat options but limited vegetarian or fish tapas (the ones they have are nice but a bit oily). Loved their bread, very soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Nice staff too and cozy atmosphere. Would recommend to share dishes with more than 2 people as the portions are quite big.

A simple and quite rustic place that opens at 7 PM. The pintxos are creative, tasty, and also have a bit of a rustic feel. The atmosphere is relaxed and very pleasant. I ordered a beer, and the idea of a “small beer” got a whole new meaning – it was really small :-))) Overall, I was very happy, but I have to admit I expected a little bit more. But that’s more about my expectations than the actual quality of the food

We were in girona for a few days and walked past this place a couple of times and it looked great so we decided to go for our last night before leaving girona. It was was gorgeous and felt welcoming and as we had not eaten this style of food before the man working at the bar was lovely and explained everything to us. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and it was fun watching the new plates as they came out of the kitchen. Everything looked and tasted fresh and we thought the combinations were creative and worked perfectly. It is such a fun concept and the place had a very friendly vibe, all the staff were lovely and it felt warm and very relaxed which is just what we wanted. Definitely a highlight of our trip and I wish them much success and will be recommending them if I know anyone coming to Girona!

I have never posted a 1 star review before, but after last night's experience I feel I must. This place used to be great. Great food, friendly service, cool vibe. We had been here a couple of times since the new ownership took over and thought deterioration of quality of food and service was down to getting the place up and running, but clearly it is getting worse instead of better. We (party of 2), came in, were seated and given menus and then ...nothing. Waiters took orders at other tables, served drinks and food to other parties, but never even came to take our drink order. After 20 minutes of trying to get someone to take our drink order we got up and left. As we were leaving, suddenly they all appeared and wanted to know what was wrong. Obviously, since we were never served my comments about the food aren't based on last night's experience, but on the last time we were there, about a month ago, when we both commented that the food was OK, but not as good as it used to be. Less variety on the menu, and not as well executed as before. This used to be a place we always took visitors... it's a real shame it has changed for the worse.

Change of ownership did not diminish the quality of food we expected and received. We visited as a couple from England on Sunday lunchtime & Tuesday evening. The owner told us that it was a “soft opening” until the kitchen became more established (& then would include à la carte). Pinxas & nice wine satisfied our requirements with a good choice of flavours on tasty bread bites. We enjoyed both red rioja & dry white wine. You need only choose the flavours that suit, the cocktail sticks are counted & you pay accordingly. 4 glasses of wine & 10 pinxas: €40.40. molt bé!

Wasn’t a fan of the vermouth and the olive spread. Also didn’t know the mussels would be tinned so be aware! Patatas Bravas wasn’t great either. I wouldn’t go back but the location was ideal. Also the service was great!

We ate "river hamburger", "bocata pepito" and "patatas bravas". Everything was extremely delicious and we were more than happy with the ambient and such a welcoming and nice staff! The blonde women was quite rude, she didn’t try to communicate and had a very unpleasant attitude. She even gave me a completely different drink than I had ordered. The young man on the otherhand, he was kind a did speak English. Also tried to joke a little bit. Just sad that I asked for a café but I only got a tiramisu .. the sausage with goat cheese was great tho ! Go there for the food, not the service 🤷‍♂️

I visited this restaurant for lunch and had a good overall experience. They offer a fixed lunch menu for 20 euros, which includes a starter, main dish, dessert, and a drink. The entire menu is vegan, which is definitely a big plus for anyone looking for plant-based options. I started with the asparagus soup, which was the highlight of the meal—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. For the main course, I had the tofu broccoli burger. The patty itself was decent, but I was a bit surprised that it was served without any buns—just the patty and a side salad. It felt more like a deconstructed burger than a traditional one. For dessert, I had the chocolate brownie. It tasted good but was slightly dry—some vegan ice cream on the side would’ve taken it to the next level. The red wine that came with the meal was quite nice and complemented the food well. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with some standout elements. We LOVED this vegan tapas restaurant in Girona. We ate here 2 nights in a row and tried out almost all of the dishes on the tapas menu. Everything was delicious and very nicely presented. Our favorites were the "trio of small bites" (with vegan cheese, xorizo and smoked tofu), nachos with creamy cashew and the egg-less potato and onion omelette. It was very pleasant to sit outside overlooking the square and the service was great.

Service was great, but we were really disappointed with the food. Everything tasted microwaved rather than freshly cooked. It’s a shame to leave a bad review for the town’s only fully vegan restaurant. 😕 Great selection of beers though, would come again for those and the excellent service!

Good service. Good food. This has been a surprise. I wasn't expecting this kind of food from a bar specialized in craft beer. They offer a daily menu to choose from. The best was the pasta with heura and sauce. Also the burguer was really good and they offer several burguer options. Dessert could have been better, with some sauce or cream on top, as both cakes were a bit dry. But overall we had a really nice lunch. Well worth a visit

Soooo delicious! Lots of different options for each part of the three-course meal, and lovely patio seating. Also a great selection of craft beer, including five on tap. Nice and helpful staff.

This was a nice place to get dinner. We got the vegan burgle (bagel/burger), it came with vegetable crisps and a great salad. We also shared the wedges with came with a fun ketchup (had some kind of condiment mixed in). The service was great, our waitress was very friendly and the environment was nice. You can sit inside or outside and they have some board games you can play :)

Great experience. I had the BURGIEL with DOSKIWIS X BAGELS & BEER HAZY IPA. My burger was fried to perfect medium rare and was absolutely delicious. Beer was very aromatic and strong, it will not disappoint IPA fans. Very competitive prices in comparison with some other places in Girona. Highly recommend!

We had a great time in Girona cycling but the highlight of the food and evening entertainment had to be Bagels and Beers. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. The beers were without a shadow of a doubt THE BEST in town with beers from local brewery Soma to Northern Monk my favourite brewery. If you go to Girona and don't go to Bagels and Beer you are missing out. So don't. 😉 They also have twice showed the sport / football match I requested... most recently watching Brighton qualifying for the Europa League 🤞🏻they will get Girona FC one day.

Small craft beer brewery in the center of Girona. I was there in the evening and wanted some advice on which beer to try. It turned out to be awkward in English, so I left after a beer. But the beer was good.

Stopped by to watch rugby world cup final and found the waitress to be super friendly, very good at English and was someone who made the evening enjoyable. Beer was good, food (we only had chicken strips) above average but the atmosphere a little flat.

We came here a couple of times while in Girona, the beer was good, the patatas bravas with spicy sauce were amazing. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxing, and there were some good veggie choices on the menu too.

A must visit place for this interested in craft beer. In a superb, unassuming location, just off of one of the more frequented squares in Girona's old town. They had 6 beers on tap from both local Catalan and international brewers (it seems there is always one of their own) and then a fridge full for you to go and grab one (again, containing Catalan and international beers). All the beers we tried were really good (Catalan's make amazing English stouts, who knew?!). Then there's the service from incredibly friendly staff who are always ready to laugh and help you with anything. Nico and Nuri especially were such lovely people. It's a very friendly space, just by the side of Plaza Independencia, a touristic place I. Girona. Kerunta have twelve taps with local and imported beer and also two of them dedicated to their own produced beers and sometimes with some colab. The kitchen is commanded by Nacho Alcolea, a chef whose signature is flavour and intensity, perfect to pair with your predilect beer. Hamburgers, appetizers and, pollo and papas bravas with sauces to taste until the last drop. Amazing!
