Pub

Sports bar
Barley Mow is a traditional town center pub in Warrington, offering a mix of on-trend eats and British classics. The pub serves all-day breakfasts, light lunches, and pub favorites. The menu includes options like smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and toast or the hearty Lancashire breakfast. Additionally, Barley Mow is known for being a great spot to watch live sports events, including Euro 2021 matches.
We booked a table at The Barley Mow and visited on Wednesday tea time. We were using vouchers so had the choice from the set menu and whilst the choice was limited, there was enough to choose from. The burger melt was lovely as was the Veg Katsu curry. Sam was very helpful and friendly and looked after us throughout our visit. We would thoroughly recommend this as a great place to eat and drink.

Booked a table for the great deal of 2 for £20. The table was booked for 2.30pm Arrived to be greeted by a young girl who advised that not all foods were available due to the extractor fan being broken. We ordered drinks and took a seat and decided on our food options. On visiting the bar again we were told that we couldn't order food as the repair guys were in for the extractor fan. We asked if they knew how long it would be. A guy called Sam stated 'it could be 10 minutes - it could be later tonight' I said we were asking because we needed to decide whether to go elsewhere. I found Sam quite rude and feel if he works in hospitality he needs to get a personality to speak to customers in a friendly manner. We ate elsewhere with friendly service and hope that Sam will be more friendly on our return.

Good value on the All Day Breakfast but let down by burnt toast and no butter (or brown sauce). Nice thick bacon, crispy hash browns and decent sausages :)
Jason S — Google review
Visited the barley mow today for lunch as a group of 4 people, 3 of the group wanted bacon on toast and 1 wanted a jacket potato. We were told by a rather surly bar worker that they were not serving any breakfast classed items nor were they serving any jacket potatoes neither! 3 of the group was told they could have plain buttered toast, with or without jam! Is this not a breakfast item? 1 (me) decided not to have anything, which I am glad I did!! The “toast” came out as white as what the bread was before it went into the toaster, it should have been listed as hot bread not toast. Suffice to say we will not be eating there in the future.
Bernie B — Google review
We have been regular customers for a long time and tonight we was told we are pained customers by a young man with a ginger beard don’t know why!!!!!! Usually the staff are lovely 🥰 don’t know if he was hot or tired but won’t return now felt disgusting & inbrassed in front of other customers
Debra L — Google review
Red wine came in a dirty glass and the texture was thicker than normal wine 🤢. I should have taken it back but I was so put off I didn’t want anything else but to leave. We sat outside and the gutter was just dripping all over the chair next to me so although it wasn’t raining I had a very bad experience
Lynnette T — Google review
Staff at the Barley Mow is very attentive and friendly. I have stepped in during rain, wet to the bone, and guys brought me back to life with a pint of Guinness and an awesome fake steak pie with peas and fries. Sorry, chips. By the way, I wonder why the rest of the world doesn’t put vinegar on chips. It’s so good! Also, you can unwind with a glass and watch sports on TV (cricket, rugby, soccer, darts, all the good stuff). Lovely place to eat and to hang out.

Pub
The Ferry Tavern is a historic pub located on an island between the River Mersey and the Sankey to St Helens Canal. It has been family-owned for 30 years and is popular among dog walkers due to its charming waterside setting. The pub has received praise from CAMRA for its selection of drinks, including guest cask ales and homemade cakes. Situated on the Trans-Pennine Trail, it's a friendly stop-off for walkers with a large beer garden.
We went for the Foodie Friday. About 300 people there and was the burger week. The service at the tavern was great. A long queue outside the building (20 minutes for drinks) but was as fast as possible given the amount of people and the bar staff were really good. However, the foodie Friday was done by an outsourced company (by Above and Beyond) and the service was AWFUL!!! I’m giving the tavern full makes for their service given the volume of people, but the take away company deserved 0. The staff and chefs were lovely and I do value their apologies and service but food order were over 2 hours wait and many people were coming to refund their food before even getting it, so i’m blaming this on the company rather than the pub itself. There was no system to the orders and people were getting annoyed and frustrated. It took 20 minutes for them to take my order AND there was ONLY 4 people in the queue before me each only ordering 2 burger each, never mind the fact that the wait was a huge pain. Overall, the Tavern is great but if you do go for foodie Friday turn up AT THE EARLIEST TIME to get serviced (as it might take up to 2 hours to get your food).
Sam H — Google review
Such a great place to call in for a Pie & a Pint if you’re walking the Trans Pennine Trail. The choice of cask ales is pretty incredible for such a remote pub. Well worth visiting.
Mark N — Google review
Warrington’s oldest pubs nestled uniquely between the River Mersey and the Sankey-St Helens Canal The pub’s location along the Trans Pennine Trail makes it a popular stop for hikers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts. Its large beer garden is perfect for enjoying the serene riverside views, and the welcoming atmosphere ensures a memorable experience. From the moment you step inside, the warm and welcoming ambiance transports you to a bygone era. The pub retains its traditional charm with rustic wooden interiors and vintage décor, while the friendly staff adds to the inviting atmosphere. The beer garden, overlooking the serene river, is undoubtedly the highlight—perfect for soaking up the sun on a lazy afternoon or enjoying a pint while watching the boats pass by. The Ferry Tavern offers a perfect blend of history, hospitality, and natural beauty. For those seeking an authentic experience in Warrington with a beautiful river view, this hidden gem is a must-visit.

Fantastic location on the bank of the Mersey. Excellent service and a great range of draught beers kept in great condition. Happy to sit outside with our puppy. I don't want to recommend this fantastic pub for totally selfish reasons.

Beautiful spot for a bike ride when the sun shines, friendly vibe ,great views of the mersey estuary and on fridays at 5pm a choice of food from elsewhere. It was Greek for me , thoroughly enjoyed it and thinking about it the first time I've had sufolaki not on holiday. Oh and the beer was spot on too 👌

Bar
The Lower Angel, a beloved town center pub in Warrington, has recently reopened under new ownership. This friendly and inviting 2-roomed public house offers a selection of up to 9 hand-pumped beers, including options from the Liverpool brewing company. The atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, with old marketing materials on display. Patrons can enjoy a rotation of ales listed on chalkboards as well as spirits, ciders, and lagers.
This well run pub is a true classic with a fine selection of cask ales and such a friendly clientele. Ideal for stopping off at if switching between Central and Bank Quay 🚂
Mark N — Google review
Wow what a diamond, only dog friendly place in Warrington but wow 9 casks and plenty of other options for those who don't like cask, both staff and customers are lovely, friendly and welcoming, no food but plenty of choice of peanuts, pork scratchings etc to nibble on, I can't wait to come back...with Bruce, keep it up,

Quality old pub with a welcoming atmosphere. Great service and a good selection of beers on draft. Decent music on the jukebox as well!

Delicious beer at reasonable prices. The little garden at the back is great to relax. I found them much more welcoming to foreigners than other local pubs.

A brilliant traditional pub in Warrington town centre in which to meet old friends (we are a male group in our 70s), 70's juke box, excellent range of craft beers (we were drinking "Crafty Fox 3.8% £3.80), & friendly & efficient staff. No tv screen distractions in the bar. A place for proper socialising. A wide clientèle age range.

Pub
The pub Skymaster is a great place to go for a meal or just relax with family. The food is hearty and there's always something on the menu to suit everyone's taste, from burgers to pizza. The service is excellent and the pub is very clean. It has an atmospheric setting with plenty of room for children to play, making it the perfect place to celebrate Christmas.
We are a vegetarian family who always visit to have a carvery. The staff are always really welcoming and we've never had a bad meal here. The carvery is exceptional, for vegetarians at least, I can't comment on the meat. The options are great. We will always be returning customers and often recommend Skymaster to friends.
Mrs ( — Google review
This was our second visit to the Skymaster within a month following a long absence. The welcome & service on both occasions was excellent despite being quite busy. On our first occasion we selected from the main menu and latterly a carvery. The meals were delivered reasonably quickly bearing in mind the number of people, really enjoyable and reasonably priced. Excellent service from Dave? who was so enthusiastic about his work & the quality of service. It's definitely worth a visit although booking might be advisable during the obvious busy periods.

Visited myself, husband, 2 sons, daughter in law and 2 year old granddaughter. We had booked a table and were seated straight away on arrival. We were offered a high chair for our granddaughter and given a children's menu without having to ask. Tried to order food and drinks on the app but husband said he couldn't find certain meals so he went to order at the bar (this was probably his fault as he is a total technophobe and useless with his phone 🤣🤣). Food arrived promptly and everything was hot and delicious. I had the beer battered fish & chips and it was fabulous. Lovely crispy batter, thick white fish which tasted delicious and wonderful crispy chips. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and there were clean plates all round. Our granddaughter loved her chicken dippers, chips and garden peas. There was a nice atmosphere and staff were very helpful and very friendly. All in all we had a really lovely evening and will definately be back again soon.
Cat G — Google review
First visit today, again always drove past this place and curiosity got the better of us. Welcomed warmly and shown to our seats, place was clean and tidy and well presented, our jolly server talked us through how we can order at the bar or through the qr code which was amazing made the whole process very easy and took the stress of having 4 kids jumping around away knowing we could order what ever we needed without waiting for someone to come to our table. Carvery was tasty and well portioned even the kids carvery was massive and the mega mixed grill was delicious. 10/10 will visit again.

The Winwick Quay Brewers Fayre is a relaxed and family-friendly pub/restaurant chain that offers a variety of traditional dishes and international favorites. First-time visitors praised the delicious meals, with highlights including juicy smothered chicken and a mouthwatering mac n cheese topped burger. The portions were generous, piping hot, and met with overall satisfaction. The typical Brewers Fayre experience is characterized by friendly staff who provide quick service, ensuring that food arrives promptly.
I recently attended a works dinner at Winwick Quay, and it was an exceptional experience. The food was truly delicious, with each dish showcasing attention to detail. The service was impeccable, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a delightful evening. Highly recommend it!

Can see why this place is not busy, the carvery stops at 6pm on a Sunday. Over priced for what you get. We ordered a creamy chicken and pulled pork pie with mash (requested no peas as don't like them) what came out was not worth the money (just under £12) we paid, very bland lack of presentation on a large plate, spoke to a member of staff and had to fight to get carrots (they only have raw carrot sticks for the kids meals) as no other veg options. We won't be back and we've recommending people stay away, there are better pubs within the vicinity, which is a shame as I remember when this pub used to be busy
Andrea L — Google review
Family get together. Lots of choices and savings. Service was good, especially as there appeared to be only a handful of staff working. Really good experience.

Just been to the Gemini retail park. Found a gem of a place for Sunday lunch. Down earth staff and great food. No complaints from me. Eating turkey reminded me of Xmas. I'll be sure to come back. My mum who's a really picky eater gives her compliments to the chef.
Cat M — Google review
Good food for the price stopped at the premier inn next door and purchased the meal deal 2 course dinner and breakfast the next morning. Staff were friendly and when we asked if we could have a corner table they sorted one for us straight away as my wife is breastfeeding and is sick of people staring at her juicy double d's. Good for little kids slide and climbing frame outside to keep them entertained. Apologies for not eating the washing up bowl of porridge my little boys eyes were bigger than his belly
Michael — Google review
My rating is based on breakfast only. I had the all you can eat breakfast it's not buffet style so it's made fresh. You just have to guess what you think you want but it is literally unlimited. You could probably ask for 12 sausages if you wished! Because it was cooked fresh I was expecting a lot better quality than I received. Bacon over done and sausages were over done and tasted cheap. The service was great. Staff members very welcoming and polite. Continental food and drinks were unlimited also . To summarise, if it's good quality food you're looking for then perhaps look elsewhere but if you're not fussed on the quality and want to fill your face at a reasonable price then this is for you. Also, bear in mind that the chef may have just had a bad day!

This used to be my favourite local pub / restaurant but the quality has decreased massively. I only had fish and chips, the chips and peas had obviously been left under heaters for a good while, nothing was fresh, daughter had pizza which was lovely. It is now massively overpriced for awful quality. The place was not busy enough to warrant food not cooked fresh. Will not be returning, I have also spent all morning feeling very poorly and sick. I was here for my birthday and due to sickness I have been forced to pull out of the local half marathon

We visit The Peacock at Birchwood periodically usually with our dog. One thing you can’t complain about is the welcome and great service you get from Shaun. Nestled in the charming village of Warburton, the Saracens Head is a quintessential British pub that exudes warmth and hospitality. With its picturesque ivy-clad exterior and expansive garden, it’s an ideal spot for families seeking a delightful day out. The large lawned area features a playground where children can frolic freely while parents relax in shaded seating areas. Although the indoor play zone is currently unavailable, the outdoor climbing frames and slides ensure that little ones remain entertained.
Very happy and a pleasant surprise to stumble on this pub, which is privately run but looks like a Green King pub. Lovely friendly staff, great service. The menu didn't look that exciting, but everything we ordered was perfect with some nice touches. We ordered the Dirty Burger, Halloumi and fries, and the vegetarian burger (I have forgotten the name). Order the home fries, good portion, and a nice crisp to them.

On a very quiet early Tuesday evening the service was very slow. My meal of cheese and onion pie wasn’t great. The crust was hard in places, so were the chips. We had to chase up the desserts they took that long. When they arrived the portion sizes definitely didn’t warrant the price. And the strawberries mixed into the Eton Mess still had the tops/leaves on. Not sure if it’s under new management as it’s been fine in the past. Our waitress, Natalia, was very pleasant. And apologetic. The background music was good too!

What a hidden gem! Amazing for families! My daughter loved bothe the indoor (£4 for 1hr) and the outdoor. They had put up a small bouncy castle as it was a nice day. There was also a live singer on too who was great. Good selection of food was delicious, hot and fresh. Think we've found our new favourite weekend spot! Happy kids, happy parents!

We had the pleasure of dinner today at saracens head and had the chance to speak with the new owner John who made us feel really welcome and also gave us complementary drinks which was a really nice gesture. He recommended the baconater burger for myself and the Buffalo blue chicken burger for the misses which went down an absolute treat and will definitely be back soon.

Bit of a strange experience here. Arrived and was greeted with friendly staff and order taken at table no need to queue at the bar. Food was fine and service staff excellent. Took the 3 yrs old to the play barn soft play area and was told “we close 2pm till 4“ This was at 1.40pm but no we are not getting in. Lady was cleaning floor with all chairs stood on tables which did not seem hygienic. Pretty poor ending to a good day. Hope you enjoyed your twenty minutes break.

What a fantastic little gem of country food pub we found when we came past the Saracens Head. Me and my dad stopped here for Sunday lunch. This pub is in a great location with plenty of parking and a massive beer garden. There is also a outside area for the children. Also they have a play barn for the children I believe it's open 7 days a week! So me and my dad both had a Sunday roast it was absolutely banging! Such big portions, I thought we had double but it was a standard size, the meat was lovely it almost melted in your mouth. They make there own homemade yorkshire puddings which are massive and so tasty. The whole meal was flavoursome. We were served by a lovely young lady named Natalie. She couldn't do enough for us and all the other customers in at the time, she has wonderful customer service skills and vibrant personality from what we could make out. This is definitely a place we shall be coming back to! 5***** from us. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I ordered some food and a 6 pack of their cocktails from Uber eat. I'm absolutely blown away by the quality and attention to detail. The food was amazing but the cocktails were absolutely delicious and they sent all garnishes including a bag of ice! I'll absolutely be ordering again, I never expected this level of delivery. Only thing I could suggest is a little slip with instructions of which garnish goes with which, but I think I worked it out. Amazing.

Always 5* at Expedition. Been here loads of times and always loved it. Food is amazing whether it’s nibbles, meal or the Sunday roast (£7, sublime). Always look after our little pooch too with treats and water. Love it

Lovely place! Quite busy as it was a really hot bank holiday Monday. Service great and very quick, cocktails and water beautifuly presented and very tasty. I had this blue cocktail which came with a huge ice cube and a flacon of pink alcohol, poured together it made a really nice and tasty pinky-purple drink (can't remember the name for the life of me but would definitely recommend it) 🥰 Girls who were serving the drinks were super nice too, will definitely be coming back.

Dorado Lounge is a charming spot located in the heart of the Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington. The exterior, with its deep pink or light plum color, is eye-catching and inviting. The spacious interior spans two floors and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With plenty of outdoor seating, it's an ideal place to relax and watch shoppers go by. The lounge serves a fantastic range of food and drinks, including full kids' menus as well as gluten-free and vegan options.
This is our second visit. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food here is really nice and the diablo smashed burger is our favourite. Actually all the burgers are really delicious. I love the chocolate brownie with ice-cream!!

My absolute favourite place in Warrington. Definitely the best breakfasts in town. Their blueberry and cream pancakes are a dream come true. The atmosphere is great, I like the worn chairs and all the random 'charityshopy' pictures on the walls. The service is also fab, always polite, always on time, always correct. They have a vegetarian and a gluten free menu as well. Also are dog and kids friendly. They couldn't really do better. I would highly recommend for everyone to try this place.

I have only recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, which means I required a gluten free meal. Let’s just say I had a wonderful experience, the staff need a supervisor to take on an allergy order which really put me at ease on how well they deal with allergies. The food was amazing, I ordered a lounge burger, but they also have a wide range of options on their gluten free menu. Definitely will be coming again. The staff are also really friendly and the restaurant is also a convenience after a long day of shopping.

Great place, dog friendly, good for coffee, brunch, lunch. Nice atmosphere, cosy seating. The food was good overall the panini probably better than the lounge eggs. Only the sherbet lemonade was disappointing (not strong flavour at all).

Whenever I’m in the mood for a burger, this place is my first choice and it never disappoints. Honestly, any burger on the menu is great, but my absolute favorite is the chicken, bacon, and avocado burger. It’s always perfectly made! The service is always friendly and fast, and they really make you feel welcome. One time, they even let us bring our furry friend along, she stayed in her carrier while we enjoyed dinner, which meant a lot. That kind of kindness makes a difference. :)

Came here as a family meal for 10 of us a little while ago, some with allergies/ dietary restrictions. The staff were lovely and accommodating, the food is amazing and they have a really good choice to help everyone be able to pick something. We have since returned here several times as it's our new favourite local "tea out" place!

Bold Street House is a trendy and stylish independent bar located in the town center of Warrington. It offers an impressive cocktail menu and a selection of wines, making it perfect for after-work drinks or a relaxed weekend outing. In addition to its drinks, the venue also serves elevated pub grub such as cheese & charcuterie platters, classic English breakfasts, American style pancakes, and hearty jacket potatoes.
Had the cocktail afternoon tea here. Lovely sandwiches, selection of cakes and scones with jam and cream! Good selection of unlimited cocktails to choose from, definitely not lacking in alcohol measures. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. As soon as they saw empty glasses they were asking if we were ready for more drinks. Will definitely be back. Thank you ladies.

We took our parents for afternoon tea, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and it was spoiled by the food and lack of professionalism. I'm looking at the photo's in other reviews and it looks amazing we got anything but amazing we got 2 cheese (wafer thin) and pickle and 2 Cucumber finger sandwiches between 2 of us, the cucumber was cut length ways with all the skin on with not much cucumber. We had drinks while we waited for the food, we ask for a Gin and Tonic in a tall glass it came in a bowl glass, a small Lemonade we got two bottles, a black coffee and a Latte which I sent back for being look warm. the cakes on the plate were poor in quality with only 3 macaron between 4 of us the Victoria sponge in fairness was nice the scones were a cheap £1 for 6 from Asda and a poor tasting Jam most of it wasn't eaten, the two young staff serving didn't have a clue but tried their best and the young lady even changed the music to a nice soft jazz I don't normally put a bad review but this needed saying..

I recently had the pleasure of being served by one of the most attentive, friendly and professional bartenders I’ve ever met. From the moment I sat down, I was greeted warmly by Dylan and with genuine enthusiasm that instantly set the tone for the evening. He was very attentive without being overbearing. He made sure my glass was never empty and checked in just enough to make me feel valued without interrupting the flow of conversation. He has the incredible ability to remember details, not only my drink preference but also the little things I’d mentioned in passing. His knowledge of cocktails was impressive, and each recommendation felt perfectly tailored. Beyond skill, it was his excellent interpersonal skills that made the experience unforgettable! He created an atmosphere that felt welcoming and personal, turning an ordinary night out into something special. Truly, a bartender who goes above and beyond in every way. Thanks Dylan!!!

We celebrated our Civil Partnership (our Civvy P) at Bold Street House on 19th July 2025, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We hired the full bar for the entire day, and from start to finish, everything was absolutely spot on. James (the wonderful owner) and Francesca (the amazing bar manager) were both fantastic. They were always helpful, warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to be part of our celebration too. They really couldn’t have done more for us, from brainstorming ideas, to recreating their menu with our own twist on cocktail names, and decorating the entire place with our bits and bobs for us. Their energy, care, and excitement made the night feel truly special. The staff team were also incredible, they were friendly, approachable, and professional. They kept everything running smoothly and made sure all our guests were well looked after, with a smile, and great service all night long - even when the karaoke kicked off and the song choices got... brave! Why do we all think we can out-sing Whitney after a few bevvies? The venue itself is just stunning (one of our favourite places on the square!). It’s super stylish, relaxed, fun, and the perfect setting for any celebration. The whole place has such a welcoming, feel-good vibe, and we love it. The drinks are top-notch! They’re always made with premium spirits, meaning you get the full flavour - exactly how a cocktail should be done - all for the bargain price of 2 for £14! Bonus points for cocktail presentation too 🍹 Anne-Marie says the Guinness is top notch, but I’ll have to take her word for that one! We’ve had so many lovely comments from our friends and family about the day, and that’s thanks in large to the amazing team at Bold Street House. We’re so grateful for everything and appreciate every single effort the staff made to make our day special. Thank you, thank you, thank you, James, Francesca, and the team at Bold Street House — you made our Civvy P unforgettable! 🤍

The Mulberry Tree Inn in Warrington hosts a popular open mic night organized by Junior & Neil Woodhead, offering a platform for singers and acoustic instrument players. The pub has evolved over the years, now providing a family-friendly environment with big screens for sports and delicious meals. While some guests note minor issues like smoke wafting into the rear seating area and limited vegan options, overall it is well-managed with friendly staff and an extensive drink selection.
I visited the Mulberry Tree, and while the food was decent quality, it's worth noting that it's pre-prepared. You get what you pay for, but it's not necessarily a bad thing! The real highlight was the bar service - the team is fantastic! They're hardworking and go above and beyond whenever possible. I was impressed by their dedication and enthusiasm. Unfortunately, I witnessed some challenging customer behavior, with two older women being quite rude to the staff. However, this didn't deter the team from providing excellent service. I wanted to write this review to give credit where credit is due. Hospitality isn't easy, and the team at the Mulberry Tree deserves recognition for their hard work. Despite the difficulties they face, they continue to provide great service. Well done, team!

I usually come in most Wednesdays, mainly because my favorite barmaid Jo (with the blue hair!) is working. Mid-week, what you want from a barmaid is a laugh, someone who’ll listen while you offload and then spin it into something lighthearted to lift your mood. Jo nails that every time — her customer service is second to none. I’ll admit, her resting “serious face” on first impressions might fool you, but once you’re served, she’s brilliant. I really enjoy coming here: the vibe is great, the staff are friendly, and the place is always clean and tidy too.

I visited today (18.8.2025) with a friend and came for lunch I ordered a chicken Caesar salad which cost 10.49 didn't think was bad said it would come with lettuce croutons cheese rocket and dressing. When my meal arrived it was literally just lettuce on a plate with some chicken and sauce, I would definitely say that this meal is more of a side dish then a main and for 10.49 I was highly disappointed 😞 I left still really hungry
Deborah B — Google review
I ordered the chicken tikka and was quite disappointed. It arrived lukewarm and tasted like it may have been reheated rather than freshly cooked, as it lacked the usual char and flavour you’d expect. The portion was very small, so I didn’t feel it offered much value for money, and to top it off the mango chutney was missing from the order. Overall, not a good experience and I wouldn’t visit again. It won't let me respond to your response so I'll write it here.... This review is far from malicious – it’s simply honest. If your server had paid attention to my face when he asked how the food was, he wouldn’t have needed me to spell it out. And let’s get the facts straight – my plate was NOT cleared, there was plenty left on it. The only reason my friend’s plate looked finished is because her so-called “salad” barely had anything on it to begin with. The truth is, you clearly can’t take criticism, and to dismiss genuine feedback as “malicious” is not only wrong but extremely unprofessional. Instead of attacking customers, maybe focus on improving the food and service.

Fantastic evening at Corks Out for a family catch-up. Great atmosphere and friendly staff are on the call offering advice on drinks and food. Loved the decor and relaxed chic feel of the restaurant and there’s intimate bar rooms if you are looking for a more private quiet evening. We opted for the restaurant overlooking the cosy open fire patio. Amazing drinks including an Orange Wine. I had a delicious mocktail as designated driver and it didn’t disappoint. We had tasty antipasti and freshly baked salami pizzas. We ordered extra garlic bread it was so delicious. The friendly attentive staff from the manager to the serving staff made it a lovely evening. We popped in for some wine before Christmas and decided to stay for a quick lunch while we waited for our dog to be finished at the local groomers. We hadn’t realised that there was a bar/cafe at the rear of the wine shop. It was a good spot, not too busy which suited us. And the pizza and garlic bread was really very good. They were out of Coca Cola though, otherwise it was a lovely lunch. A rare trip out for us.

I have been here a few times in the past with friends and enjoyed the evening. Tried to go with two kids (6 and 7) at 5.30pm on a weekday to be told "no kids after 5pm, sorry". Disappointing that the kids curfew was so early but if that's the vibe they want then fair enough. I can understand later in the evening but 5pm is ridiculously early! Posting for others info that might be coming with kids only to be turned away. It won't stop me coming back with friends but it's disappointing to see this in an otherwise family friendly area.

Just walked in, asked if there are any seats the the ginger guy behind the bar said, ‘No that’s why there are people standing there!’ There was two ladies stood in the corner pretty much out of View. Why the need to be so rude ? The place was full of females so probably don’t like a couple being in there. Second time we have tried going there and second rude experience. Appalling.

Nestled in Warrington, the Cat & Lion Country Pub and Hotel is a delightful retreat just a short drive from attractions like Walton Hall and Gardens. This charming establishment offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding with friends or family. Guests have enjoyed spacious rooms that provide comfort, although some noted minor cleanliness issues. The friendly staff are particularly accommodating, making it an ideal spot for those traveling with loved ones who may need extra care.
We stopped here overnight to meet an old friend. The room was large, clean and modern, had plenty of sockets to plug in everyone's electronics and beauty products. The beds were comfy we all had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was included in the price and even our dog got a sausage cut up in a bowl for him. We booked a table in the pub and the food was very tasty and well priced as were the drinks. What really makes this place though are the friendly staff who are attentive and cannot do enough to make you and your furry friends feel welcome. When the family and I come back through to visit friends we will certainly be back to this nice cosy establishment. Thanks to the team from all of us and Charlie the dog.

Mike C — Google review
After visiting The Cat and Lion on several occasions for breakfast, we were really looking forward to a family meal for my birthday. Unfortunately, it was a total disappointment. When we ordered our food, we made it clear that we were sat together but under 3 separate payment methods. Nonetheless, the food arrived separately. The first meal came and was eaten before the second lot of meals came. Everything else arrived, other than my husbands pizza which we were told was almost ready. After waiting and almost everyone else finishing their meals, we approached the Manager to ask where the pizza was. We explained that we were out for a family meal and hoping to all eat together. We were met with a total lack of consideration and simply told ‘yeah it’s in the oven now’. Shortly after, a young lady came over to our table and told us she had dropped the pizza on the floor meaning my husband now had no meal. Two minutes later, a gentleman bought out the pizza he had ordered. We explained that we were told that the pizza had been dropped on the floor and didn’t want it. I approached the Manager again to explain that someone had just tried to serve us a pizza that had clearly been dropped on the floor. Again the Manager showed no interest whatsoever, fabricating a story about the pizza that was bought out being someone else’s that they had given to my husband so that he had a meal. When we asked for the pizza we were told ‘you refused it is it’s in the bin now’. Mistakes happen, and clearly there had been a mistake with the pizza being dropped and then somehow going out to serving, but the way the Manager dealt with the situation was disgusting. Sending younger staff members over to explain to us what had happened and not once offering an apology which was unacceptable. Really really disappointed by this visit.

Myself and my wife stayed here for one night for a family reunion. We arrived early and was informed there was an early check-in fee. However I could leave my vehicle in the car park whilst I visited a nearby relative which was ideal. The check-in desk is in a separate building to the hotel. I was booked in (Or atleast i thought I was) by a member of staff. The room itself had the essentials, was clean and presentable. Although had unusual 1970's decor on a modern style room. We dined there in the evening, the food was tasty. The following morning I received an email stating that I hadn't checked in and I owed the full amount (Despite spending the night there.) I went for breakfast which was included in the cost of the room and my concern was reiterated when I went to bar too order and the male server seemed confused about me even having a room and went to speak to the manager. I wasn't informed either way if there was a mishap or not but I managed to get my breakfast ordered. I then spoke to the manager due to these concerns and turned out I hadn't been checked in on the system and she did apologise in a minimal way. If I hadn't had raised my concerns I feel like I'd have been charged for the room twice. The male server who served me breakfast encountered us outside and did continue to apologise. I'd have rated this establishment with a higher rating if I hadn't had all these issues.
Daniel B — Google review
This was a lovely find and suited our trip in taking my partners elderly parents up to Liverpool. Accommodated with a tin room and a double. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, although the bathroom area was quite small. Cleanliness could have been a little better as there were cobwebs above the bed and the shower plug hole was in need if a clean. However the staff were friendly and very understanding as mum has alzheimers. The breakfast menu had a reasonable choice and we ate in the pub one night, the food was average and the service sliw but think this was due to Mondays being busy with the quiz. We would use again if we were back in the area.

Nestled alongside the picturesque canal, The Brewery Tap is a charming village pub that has become a beloved local spot since its opening. With an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, it offers a delightful selection of traditional beers and cask ales, complemented by five lager and cider options. Gin enthusiasts will appreciate the diverse range of gins paired with various tonics. For those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, there are bottled drinks and coffee available too.
A regular stop on the Lymm pub crawl. A good selection of beers, most of which are different to your regular chain pubs and a friendly group of bar staff. Quite often have a live group on the weekend so can be a bit busy and loud. Midweek tends to be a bit quieter but still a nice atmosphere. Often a fire going in the wood burning stove

Great find in Lymn. Tap room serving their beers on hand pump and a range of other regulars on keg. Offered nibbles with our order, but otherwise the pub serves no food. We noted others brought food in with them. Friendly service, plenty of room, dog friendly.

Helpful cheerful staff, clean and friendly environment, with a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor seating, offers throughout the week such as wine Wednesday's and midweek loyalty cards. The pub itself has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dog friendly, dogs are welcome in all parts of the pub, with a water bowl and treats available behind the bar. Log burner lit on cold months and air conditioning when it's hot. Some ales are on rotation so there is always something new to try. Also, second and last Thursdays of the month there is an open mic night where anyone can come and sing, in addition to great music played throughout the day.

Lovely place , great singer but ridiculous prices as £21 for 2 single gins would definitely not go again with them prices

Had a great time there on Saturday. So much flavour gin and other cocktails to try, the service was great, the atmosphere was super with live guitar and good fun people.

Amazing local bar in the village. Love the live music there on the weekend! We also had my boyfriends 30th party a few weeks ago at Gin Alley and it was such an amazing afternoon. Great venue for a special occasion, we also hired their resident singer as well who created such a great atmosphere.

Lots of choice of drinks, very busy on a Saturday night - great live music and cool vibe.
Joseph R — Google review
What a wonderful bar to have in our village. Gin Alley not only looks great from the outside, but has a cosy and stylish interior. The staff are great and there is such a large variety of drinks on offer. My friends and I love the atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night with the live music making the night. You can sit and enjoy the music or get up and have a boogie around the tables. Finally, you can pre book a table easily online with a small deposit, which is taken off your drink order. Definitely worth a visit!

Flanagans Irish Bar, located in Old Market Place since late 2018, offers a cozy atmosphere with live music and a wide selection of drinks including Guinness and Irish whiskey. While the food may not be particularly Irish, it is of good quality and reasonably priced. The friendly staff provides excellent service, making it a fantastic place to relax after shopping in Golden Square Warrington. Customers have praised the homemade dishes such as ribs and battered fish with steak cut chips.
A fantastic bar ! Very friendly caring staff, I would highly recommend Flanagans ! Great atmosphere ! Can't wait for Flanagans to open up again, don't take my word for it, come along and see for yourselves! Really nice to sit and chill outside after you've been shopping in golden Square Warrington
Linda L — Google review
Grand place to eat, nothing particularly Irish about the food being honest, but good quality enjoyable meal none the less and reasonable price, would certainly eat there again. One tip for them would be to at least serve some potato bread with the "Irish" breakfast, otherwise you might as well call it a full English serving it with no soda dark or white pudding.
Daniel M — Google review
A sports bar that doesn't really do sport or customer service. The staff are more bothered by having loud pop music on whilst a football match is playing & some are much more interested in their mobile phones than serving drinks. I suspect it may be reasonable as a social pub at a time sport isn't on. But I don't think I'll come back.

The Hop Emporium is a vibrant spot located in Times Square, offering a variety of seating options both indoors and outdoors. With a selection of 3 cask ales and keg beers, this place is known for its well-maintained beverages. Visitors can enjoy casual conversations with locals while savoring the diverse food market offerings from AfroCaribbean to sweet treats just outside the venue. The bar frequently hosts events like Tap Takeovers, where breweries showcase their beer selections for sampling.
There’s always a fantastic choice of ale served at this bar - The Tiny Rebel Yipee Try-Yay British IPA was simply superb. Really friendly staff are on hand to assist if in doubt. If you see a seat - grab it as it fills up very quickly- a victim of its own success. Give yourself a good 10 minutes if walking back to either of the 🚂 stations.

Visited the hop emporium on a Friday after eating at one of the market food stalls. There was a really good variety of Belgium larger, Ipa's, DIPA, and best of all sours. They even had pomono island on tap which I've only come across in Manchester. Loads of seating available and food stalls surrounding the area

Hideout is a fantastic venue in Warrington town center that offers an amazing experience for various occasions. Whether it's a wedding celebration or just a weekend getaway, Hideout goes the extra mile to ensure an unforgettable time. The staff, including James, Chloe, and Bailey, are friendly and accommodating, making sure every request is met with enthusiasm. The outside terrace provides a great atmosphere with live music on Thursdays and a selection of DJs on weekends.
Definitely recommend!! Staff don’t really speak to you but you’re with friends anyway, little expensive but so worth all of it. Decorations are cute and real nice, layout is spacious and great for photos. Would recommend to anyone wanting a fun yet chill night out
Jess — Google review
Had a bar staff this evening by the name of Bailey, was stood at the bar and Bailey would look past me every time and serve the lot that looked under 20 even though I had been stood there before them, when I finally addressed Bailey and asked why he was serving people before me Bailey simply replied with “oh was I” and rolled his eyes.. Very unprofessional, put me off coming back here when I see bar staff that would rather accommodate people of a certain age rather than who is in line next. Very disappointed as the atmosphere in this place is quite good. To the owners, you know that your establishment caters to a crowd of all ages and I would hope that you would perhaps have a chat with Bailey and direct him on how to engage with customers properly.

We can’t thank Hideout enough for making our wedding celebration so amazing. A special thanks to James, Chloe, Bailey and the rest of the staff who went that extra mile to ensure that we had the best wedding party. Everything we asked for was delivered, including other extra touches that we didn’t think off. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful and really wanted us to have the best time, we can’t recommend Hideout enough. Fantastic wedding venue, also a great place to relax and have a few drinks.

Dead Eyes Cocktail Bar is a cozy venue in the heart of Warrington, offering an impressive selection of cocktails and delicious food. While seating downstairs may be limited, it's recommended to book a table in advance. The service can be slow at times due to understaffing, but the staff are friendly and go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The Zombie cocktail is highly recommended, along with other creative concoctions like the Mai Tai and melon-infused drinks.
Great place with great service and staff and drinks. £8.50 for a cocktail and 2 for 14 i believe if you order before 10pm
Roksana — Google review
This is a nice little venue but there isn’t much seating downstairs so I do advice to ring up in advance to book a table. When we arrived the service was slow and took 5/10 minutes to be served at the bar for food and drinks because there was only one person at the bar serving. The food was amazing and the cocktails was very nice , just gutted they ran out of products to make me a zombie which isn’t a good time to run out at 5:30pm on a Saturday night knowing they have the rest of the night ahead of them. We was the only people eating at the time and not once did anyone come over and ask how we was or how the food was which should be a must in the hospitality industry. If in my eyes they didn’t happen it would have been 5*

First time at this place and wow! The staff are amazing, the decor, choice of food, so clean and tidy..could not fault one bit. Every person I mention this place too says how good it is and I can see why. Even wished my nan a happy birthday with a glass of Prosecco and cake without even being asked. I chose to dine here last night to celebrate my graduation, and the food and service was amazing. Our server was Caitlin-Jade (might be wrong!), and she was amazing. Really friendly and efficient service, and had amazing observation skills as she went out of her way to give me a free dessert to congratulate me on my graduation. This really meant a lot to me, and just made the day even more special so thank you so much :)

We went to the cherry tree on Monday for my daughter's birthday. She was given a birthday card when she got to the table which is a lovely touch. The food was delicious and the service second to none. Bradley could not have been more attentive and made excellent recommendations. Thank you Bradley. We will definitely be returning.

We got the Surf and Turf Platter which was nice but overpriced for the amount you get. 2 lots of fries with it when it needed more of the other things. The food was nice enough but didn't blow me away. The staff were really attentive and I can't fault them but for the price paid vs the quality/amount of food, you are better off heading into Manchester in my opinion.
Adam M — Google review
Popped in here for an impromptu lunch. It's a very stylish, yet cosy, establishment, with lots of seating and a dog friendly area, which is a bonus. I had a three course meal for £34.95, which was very reasonable in my opinion. To start, I had the pigs in blankets, although I was also tempted by the oven baked garlic and chilli king prawn pil pil, as well as the soup of the day (carrot and ginger) or the crispy breaded halloumi goujons. For my main, I had the lamb, which just fell apart and was delicious. However, the other star of the show was the Yorkshire pudding! Crispy, light, very big, and very tasty! Dessert was the summer peach Melba crème brûlee, and as a person whose favourite dessert is crème brûlée, I have to say that it was one of the best that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The ice cream sandwich was an added, and delicious, delight too! The server was also very attentive and friendly and even apologised for the rudeness of another patron who decided to blast his music from his mobile, without thought to anyone else. That's my only reason for the four stars, as the experience was marred by this rude and inconsiderate person. I shall return!
G L — Google review
Not been to this place for a while, and now I know why. We had garlic bread to share to start, which was really nice to be honest. My daughter then went on to have pizza which she devoured, and my wife had the chicken schnitzel which again was nice. I went for the steak and was extremely disappointed at £32.95 maybe I was expecting too much. I asked for it rare and when my flat mushroom size steak arrived it was far from that. I would have expected a great place like this to be able to sort that out. The staff were amazing and the surroundings were equally good. Won't be back for a while I'm afraid.
Paul R — Google review
I’ve just visited the cherry tree with my mum for Mother’s Day and couldn’t not write a review. We were first greeted each with a card for Mother’s Day and a small bottle of Prosecco which none of us were expecting that had us both choked up. The food was lovely and we had plenty of choice on the set menu. We opted for the roast beef which I would highly recommend should you ever want a nice Sunday dinner. The staff couldn’t do more for us. We were looked after by Dylan who was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed but I couldn’t believe the customer service throughout the whole experience. I think every single staff member we passed on the way in and on the way out whether it was waiting on staff or behind the bar all made eye contact and said hello and wished us a nice evening which just adds to an already great experience. We will be sure to visit again very soon.

Decent pub. Decent drinks. Food is the typical pub food. We were celebrating a birthday to a mate here, with a private room booked for us. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The bar is well stocked, and was a nice place to wind down at the end of the day. I personally didn't have breakfasts in the hotel, but the smells from the kitchen were amazing. Tea, coffee, towels and toilet paper refreshes were provided every day.

Listen, it's a two star hotel at a reasonable price. Do not judge against four or five star hotels. Welcome - good Location - two minutes from the railway station Room - tired but clean Bed - comfortable Shower - well, hot water is normally expected. Floorboards - almost every one squeaks to their own tune. Unexpected stopover following issues with train. Happy to have a roof over my head and a clean bed to sleep in. Can't argue with a friendly hello and £57 for one night. It's not the Hilton, nor does it pretent to be.

The room was spacious enough for one person and it was clean and warm. The shower however was terrible and had to compromise. The included breakfast was really good and it starts at 7:30 which is amazing. Staffs are friendly and hotel is really quiet at night. Will choose again next time.

Definitely some fake reviews on here, the whole place stunk everywhere I went was an eye sore, worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, out dated rooms, stains everywhere, overpriced and terrible customer service wouldn’t advise for anyone to go back
Kai H — Google review
Positives: location (is opposite one of the train stations) and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Negatives: the room smelled awful and was not clean, the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced, the hot water didn't work so I had a cold shower with no water pressure to speak off, the WiFi doesn't work in the rooms and I spent most of the night listening to a mixture of the trains outside, the arguments inside and what I can only assume was people enthusiastically enjoying their visitors (by the hour). Would definitely avoid - if it wasn't for the super nice staff I probably would have just left and paid for somewhere else.
