La Vieille Bourse in Lille, France is a remarkable Renaissance-era stock exchange building that holds great historical significance. It was once the center of commercial and financial activities in the city, showcasing its prosperous trading history. The building consists of 24 identical houses surrounding a courtyard, which serves as a focal point for various city events and gatherings. Its ornate architecture and gold Mercury statue on the campanile add to its grandeur.
A really beautiful building, both inside and out. We were lucky to visit on a Sunday morning and came across a second-hand and art bazaar filled with posters, books, and prints—it was such a lovely surprise!

Excellent place for book lovers, the decor of the square itself is so alazing , taking the book buying experience to a different level level. Several book stores in row selling books, posters , plates very amazing collection. The square also is very nice with metal structure in the middle making the place look cooler . Loved the idea of open air book shop . Have seen many antique shop but not exclusively book sale like this . Very unique experience not just for book lovers but for all .
Mamata B — Google review
The old stock exchange is one of the city’s major landmarks. You can browse books stalls and card vendors. The centre shows an art installation at the moment, a mirror sphere. The Flemish baroque architecture is bery charming. A place surely not to miss when visiting Lille. Enjoy!

Amazing architecture Mist visit place in lille You can see the complete lille from the top of the tower. 7euros ticket ,(in bulk it's 6) 150 steps to start , then you can choose steps to continue or take an elevator. On top open space space with cool breeze will mesmerize for sure. Even sovenior shop in the middle has a good collection. Never miss this place
Vinay M — Google review
I enjoyed my experience in la vieille bourse. It’s free for everyone to go in and it’s like a market for people to sell their old stuff like books and other gadgets and you can find so many old treasures there and prints to collect as souvenirs. It can get a little crowded there, but you can still tour the place without waiting outside as per my visit. It’s located right in the central Square of Lynn.
Mike A — Google review
Stunning views of Lille. Very well organised, the bell tower only has capacity for 18 people at any one time so a wait is inevitable. The staff frequently address the queue updating with an approximate timeline. We were told one hour but it was closer to 30mins. On entrance at ground level you store your bags in a locker and climb a few flights of stairs where after paying in the small gift shop (just over 7€ with some concessions for under 18) you can climb the remaining flights or use the elevator (holds 4 people max) This was the worst experience for me - you can really appreciate how high this tower is when in a narrow lift shaft in a cage that keeps climbing upwards! Well worth it for the views and the information about the landmarks. We took the stairs down! We were in the tower all told about 90 minutes.

Nestled in the heart of Lille, the Grand Place, also known as Place Charles de Gaulle, is a stunning central square that showcases the city's rich history and architectural beauty. This expansive area is lined with charming terrace restaurants and features remarkable structures like the ornate Vieille Bourse and the historic Theatre du Nord. The square's centerpiece is the elegant fountain dedicated to La Deesse, a goddess commemorating Lille's resilience during its 1792 siege.
Large, open square in the centre of Lille. Monument and fountain in the centre, some beautiful buildings facing into it along with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Popular place to sit and watch the world go by.

France, a country notorious among travelers for its challenging reputation, turned out to be far more charming than I expected. And for me, Lille had even more appeal than Paris. If I ever return to France, there’s no question I’ll be coming back to Lille.

Lille is a beautiful city. The buildings are so architecturally stunning. Plenty to see and do on our 3 days trip. Lots of restaurants and coffee, patisseries. Yummy. Our hotel Mercure grand place was extremely good value and breakfast fabulous. Will visit again when its maybe not so hot 🥵

Absolutely gorgeous! 🥰 Very lively during the day and mesmerising at night with all the beautiful illuminations. It reminded me of Brussels in a way. It’s definitely a must when in Lille. Plenty of restaurants and cafés in its surroundings.

Amazing and spacious square where you can admire several architectural beauties of lille. It can get crowded and there are beggars and homeless people around it, so watch out for your stuff, or help if possible.

The beautiful city of lille. Well worth a visit just for the architecture alone. Stunning and great to see a strong police presence
Chris C — Google review
Only had an hour in Lille before heading for the ferry at Calais so of course we headed straight for the Grand Place & the surrounding streets of the Vieux-Lille to look at the buildings & soak up some Lille vibes….& it was all positive apart from one thing - the stench of the sewers :/
Toxteth G — Google review
The areas of the town squares are nice. There are many nice decorations around and some good stores where people can buy stuff. One thing I don't like is the fact that cars are allowed to operate within the pedestrian area, with no traffic lights and no signs. Really, man? Who's dumb idea was that? People who walk and cyclists can get hurt, especially children. This stupidity was abolished in 99% of the European cities I've visited, except for Lille. Seriously... Compared to Szeged, Charleroi, Novi Sad and Timișoara, which are superior cities, Lille sucks in that case. 👎 Those are a few examples. ☝️ I've visited many cities all across Europe and Asia. Naming all of them would take 100 days. I know Lille can become good. It really needs better laws and improvements. Other than that, I see good things too. The surroundings look nice. 👍

If you're looking for an unforgettable night out in Lille, look no further than Le Network. This vibrant nightclub is a hotspot that attracts both locals and visitors alike, thanks to its electrifying atmosphere and impressive lineup of renowned artists and DJs like David Guetta and Afrojack. With a diverse music selection ranging from Electro House to Hip-Hop and R&B, there's something for everyone at Le Network.
Couldn’t expect the party to be this intense on a Tuesday 🙌🏾 that’s the magic of student cities 🫶🏾
Pascal L — Google review
Fully bullshit! Every time I give this place a chance, hoping it will be fun, I face the same issues: no control over the number of people. It’s impossible to dance or even just stand. Everyone is pushing each other, trying to get somewhere. The staff is rude, shoving you around and creating even more chaos. There are some ‘important’ guests, and they literally push everyone else out of the way so they can get their comfortable spot. It’s completely unfair. And the prices are sky-high for such a low level of service and organization. Do yourself a favor — don’t go there. It’s not worth your time or money!
Zhenis S — Google review
Nice small club, we went there on a tuesday so it wasnt full but there were still plenty of people. Good music, 2000s, 2010s, reggaeton. Would go there again
Julia H — Google review
Trying to enjoy the night as tourists from a full day Olympic games in the city. This is the 1st place of 5 that refused us. Here the fat white security guy said no: only regular people and everything is full (they just openend). Mitoman only wants certain people inside, just like in all the party pictures. Lille is a disgrace for having a good night. Never coming back to the city of discrimination.
Revi D — Google review
Just a warning for tourists as I have not seen this information elsewhere: do NOT wear shorts. We were refused to entry due to this which was very unfamiliar to us as in England the clubs have no dress code
William G — Google review
Didn’t let us in because we was English, not verry professional.
MTB T — Google review
The worst service that you can find in Lille. We went out for food and when we cane back the securities didn't allow us in. Eventhough we explained that we had a reservation, and the lady with us needed to use the washroom urgently, they didn't allow us to go in. At the same time, they did allow French people in without any argument. We felt that the securities are being racists. And this is not the first time we are facing this issue not being French. We had similar experience earlier when we were not allowed to enter the club not even once.

Only been in Lille 2 days and been here 3 times.Welcomes don’t come warmer than this and the food is delicious. Absolutely wonderful team made us feel at home, the chef even brought a small pot of a secret ingredient we asked about. Favourite place in the city so far.

Art museum
The Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille is housed in a magnificent Belle Epoque building from 1892 and boasts an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, and drawings spanning from ancient times to the 21st century.
One of France's finest art museums outside Paris! Impressive range from Flemish masters to modern works. The building itself is gorgeous and the displays are well-curated. Don't miss the sculpture gallery and decorative arts sections. The biggest highlight is the massive reliefs in the basement. Perfect for art lovers and easily accessible in the city center. Allow at least 2-3 hours to do it justice!
Vas K — Google review
A lovely day out! Varied display of painting and historical items. The staff were nice. Free bag storage! Very reasonable price. Small café and gift shop available. The beautiful open spaces didn't feel crowded. My only note is there wasn't a translation for everything, so I might suggest using the audio or practicing your french🙂.
Robyn — Google review
This museum was such a nice experience. First of all it is included in your city pass even the temporary exhibit. It was not too crowded to you could take your time and ease to check the art out that is displayed in a very clean and concise way. The temporary exhibit was such a delight to learn about the flemish culture. Absolutely recommended for lille visitors.
Mike A — Google review
This museum is an absolute delight and a must-visit for anyone in the area. From the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was welcoming and the collection was impressive. As a first-time visitor, I can confidently say I'll be back. I had a wonderful experience during my visit, spending almost an hour exploring both the special exhibit and the rest of the museum. I was specifically keen on seeing "les Géants," and it certainly did not disappoint! The curation was phenomenal, and the scale and detail of the pieces truly lived up to the name. Importantly, the permanent exhibition also deserves high praise; the quality and depth I saw in the remaining time were fantastic. For first-time visitors, note that purchasing tickets at the museum itself is straightforward and easy. While my time was short, the hour spent exploring provided a fantastic, well-rounded first impression. Highly recommend making a trip to explore this gem!
Krista — Google review
Several great art pieces here. Some Picasso, Monet, and a Donatello carving that is quite incredible. My favorite part was this large collection of maps of French and Belgian cities in 3D miniature style that show the cities from a few centuries ago. My favorite statue was this skeleton holding a heart located at the top on one of the staircases. There was a cute cafe and gift shop.
Renée R — Google review
An amazing place where modern touch of art meets the classical works of past masters. On three different floors you will see the region trough the different perspective to the modern era. Worth going and had a great time .
Bartosz S — Google review
Amazing, peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle of Lille centre. It is worth a visit just to see the relief maps, you couldn't carry one about on the back shelf of your carriage in case you got lost, they are huge! The Egyptians were a unique race of people, one sign said they bred cats just to slaughter them to put in a sarcophagus for the journey to the afterlife. A flint tool is the oldest thing on show, 300,000 years old! I was unsure about visiting the place but I am so glad I made the effort.
Mike — Google review
This is a very interesting and niche museum. The collection spans paintings, exquisite sculpture, antiquities and in the basement a vast collection of huge contour maps of local towns which are fascinating to study. Our visit was rather marred by the clueless staff including a pompous security guard who insisted that the phone was placed face down on a side tray whilst you walked through the scanner and clueless ticket sellers who sell you a ticket and then refuse to refund when you find you cannot access any of the galleries due to there being protests being held in them. Fortunately, we waited and the galleries eventually reopened.

Beer hall
Pub
La Capsule Lille is a charming and rustic-chic bar located in Vieux-Lille, offering a comprehensive collection of craft beers and charcuterie plates. The bar is known for its vaulted brick cellar with exposed wooden beams, creating a cozy atmosphere. It features 28 craft brews on tap, including local options with various flavor profiles such as tart, roast, and smoked notes.
It’s my favorite craft beer bar in Lille. I’ve been here twice. There are almost 30 beers on tap that you can find on Untappd. They also have food. The staff are overall pretty nice and knowledgeable about the beer. Only 4 stars because there’s this one time where I asked a guy at the bar if I can try one beer on the tap (this is common practice in craft beer bars I think) and he said no and expressed it in a not so nice way.
Charriz B — Google review
An excellent selection of beer styles from local breweries and great service. A must stop if you're a beer drinker visiting Lille.
Ryan M — Google review
Probably one of the bigger craft beer pubs in Lille, with 20+ draft beers. Mainly French craft breweries, with a very nice variety of styles. Styles are marked with clear icons. You can ask for a small taster to sample if you prefer a beer. Prices are very fair. Cosy atmosphere, nice seating area at the bar or windows.
Koen K — Google review
I love this bar! We've been to Lille twice and wouldn't miss a visit. Excellent, friendly service and superb beers, which are varied and well priced. Beer lovers will love this fab bar, we will 100% be back next time we are in Lille!

Made reservation for atmospheric cellar bar. Good table in a popular spot. Warm reception. Excellent selection of beers. Very limited but tasty bar snacks - previous reviews suggested more. Overall a great craft beer bar.
Ellen W — Google review

Food rating is not relevant as this is only a beer bar but the beer is very good! A wide selection of both local and international beers, nice atmosphere, very cosy. Must-try place for any beer lover.
Thomas P — Google review
A nice place where the hosts know about their beer. Almost 24 beers on tap, it's one of the best draft beer places you can find in Lille and highly recommended to visit if you are into beer. It's unfortunate that tasting plate is not available on weekends; other than that..it's a cool place to have some nice craft beer with good options.

Gare Saint Sauveur is a cultural and leisure space located in the old Saint Sauveur station in Lille. It hosts art exhibitions, concerts, movies, and family-oriented events. The spacious bistro offers a weekly updated menu featuring international dishes like chicken curry and beef tartare alongside traditional options such as Potjevleesch. The station grounds are home to Lille3000's cultural collective, hosting the Eldorado festival every three years and year-round exhibitions.
Great welcome with explanations about the exhibition. Currently not a big exhibition, but worth the visit. Visited the Urban garden next door, also worth a visit for a drink or games or just to visit the gardens.

A nice place to visit! We went to the free exhibition. It was a bit too abstract for us, but still fun to see. After that we got a drink at the bar and sat on the covered terrace. Very relaxing!

loved the "Tidy up your room" exhibition, it awakened the inner kid in me and it worked so great in the old train station environment, such a great use of space
Maria M — Google review
Another great sort of third place. Lots of indoor and outdoor space. It seems you can use their barbecues and cook your own food which is cool. Many events also take place like dj sets. Great for people of all ages. Went twice in one weekend.
Melissa P — Google review
I visited the Gare Saint Sauveur specifically to see the exhibition "Afriques Capitales," curated by Simon Njami. The entire assemblage was excellent - with a deeply thought-provoking selection of recently created contemporary sculptures, paintings, photographs and installations, all addressing themes related to the complexities and precarities of urban life. Architecturally, Njami made very good use of the space, and the video installation by the artists MWANGI HUTTER (aka Ingrid Mwangi and Robert Hutter) shown in real time (with the appearance of slow motion and layered film montage) from inside the alcoves of the open railway carriages was both intriguing and highly sensual. I was also delighted to see the textile sculptures by internationally renowned artists such as Abdoulaye Konate and El Anatsui. Gare Saint Sauveur has an excellent restaurant, serving very good quality reasonably priced set lunches.
Carol D — Google review
Visited during the last weekend of June during Lille 3000, most of the installations were aimed for children but entrance is free so no complaints there. The other wing is more for all-ages with some visual installations but generally not your top-tier artists' work. More for beginner artists to showcase . Ate lunch at the cafe as well as there are not many food options nearby, menu was actually above average quality and price wise.

If you're a fan of Blues and Rock, then The Stairway is your ultimate destination in Lille! This vibrant venue spans two floors, featuring an "Old Rock" cocktail bar on the ground level and a lively club in the vaulted cellar below. Here, you can groove to classic tunes from the 60s and 70s while enjoying a cozy atmosphere filled with comfortable lounges.
English Music! And they also played one Bollywood song believe me! The ambience is great, the club has plenty of space and the drinks are medium ranged. Happy Partying!

It's so difficult to internet search a good jazz club in France. Most clubs just post pictures of drinks, the bar, and food. I don't go to jazz clubs to eat. I want to see pictures of the stage, drum sets, and musicians performing. Why don't the French get this?

Lille Opera, situated in Lille, France, is a remarkable neoclassical building that was constructed between 1907 and 1913 to replace the former opera house destroyed by fire in 1903. Designed by architect Louis Marie Cordonnier, this Belle Epoque masterpiece features an intricate pediment relief and houses impressive interior works by sculptor Edgar-Henri Boutry. The opera house is a prominent venue for opera, ballet, and classical music performances.
Beautiful place! I like their program: they have a nice mix of concerts, ballets, operas and contemporary presentations. The place is clean, spacious, and has a great atmosphere.

I visited the Opéra de Lille today for an evening recital, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment you step inside, the grandeur of the building sweeps you off your feet- from the sweeping red-carpeted staircases to the opulent chandeliers and intricate golden moldings, every corner of the opera house exudes elegance and history. The concert hall itself is breathtaking. Plush red velvet seats, ornate balconies, and a ceiling adorned with a spectacular chandelier set the stage for an intimate and atmospheric musical evening. I attended a recital featuring piano and voice, and the acoustics were absolutely stunning — every note resonated beautifully in the space. The ambiance was refined yet warm, and the entire experience felt like stepping into a different era. Whether you’re a fan of classical music or simply want to experience the cultural heartbeat of Lille, a visit to the Opéra is an absolute must. It’s not just a performance venue - it’s a piece of living art.

I had an amazing experience watching a fost opera at lille’s opera. Seating was very cheap, and it was so good. Loved the performance and the architecture of the building itself both from the inside, and from the outside the staff were very friendly, and there were so many staff to help you be guided to your seat. although my seat was cheap still, I could see clearly the stage

A stunning century old building, lovingly restored. The crowds fill the place so make sure to book tickets way in advance. It’s also a nice alternative for a night out from Brussels, as the train takes just 35 minutes to reach Lille.

I wouldn't recommend this place for people who feel uncomfortable around cigarettes. It's not a non-smoker friendly place, everyone has a cigarette in their hands. There is some lively music with some good food. 1€ is taken off your balance when you purchase a drink, but if/when you return the cup, you get the 1€ back. Outdoors and indoors seating.

Disgusting place. 0 over 0 in everything. I absolutely do not recommend it. When we arrived the club was empty and we grabbed cocktails and sat down at the table. After some time, a group of people came and began to communicate with us friendly, ordered champagne, after a while the waiter came up to us and asked us to leave this table ( which is absolutely absurd 😱) due to the fact that this table was reserved for this company, to which I told him that we came here first and it was empty and it wasn’t written here that this table was reserved and no one warned us about this. I decided to talk to the manager, explained the situation to her, to which she simply could not find anything to answer and began to say the same standard phrase “this table was reserved” in french, although initially she “could” have expressed herself in English. I decided to leave this awful place because my mood was ruined and I had no desire to be there any longer. This was blatantly terrible customer service, so I will never come here again and I don’t recommend it. By the way, the attitude towards foreigners here is simply disgusting and local people are so limited in their views that it’s simply deplorable...I simply regret I didn’t see so low points of it before I go there. Please check the points before you go…

MEERT, located in Roubaix, France, has a rich history dating back to 1849. The famous waffles from Meert have a long tradition and were even supplied to the royal family in nearby Belgium for a while. The shop on Rue Esquermoise not only offers delicious waffles but also houses a historic tearoom and a restaurant. Visitors can enjoy the delightful experience of tasting these renowned delicacies with a fascinating historical background.
We had to queue for about 20 minutes, but it is a lovely tea room and all the cakes looked amazing! I opted for hot chocolate & their famous filled waffles which were really good! I went back the next day and got some to take home! The vanilla one reminded me of a custard cream biscuit! I do wish I tried one of their cakes too!

Great place for photography. Ok stroopwaffles, nice location Méert Lille is pure old-world elegance — a place where history, craftsmanship, and indulgence come together beautifully. Stepping inside feels like entering a living postcard from another era, with its ornate interiors, charming service, and irresistible aroma of freshly baked treats. The signature gaufres (waffles) are ok… The pâtisseries and chocolates are equally ok…, each one crafted with remarkable finesse and balance. Pair them with a perfectly brewed coffee or tea, and it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave. Whether you’re here for a quiet afternoon indulgence or to pick up a beautiful gift box, Méert captures the timeless art of French sweetness. An iconic Lille institution — elegant, delicious, and unforgettable.

Very wonderful bakery shop / cafe like a creation of art. The displayed pastries were so perfectly arranged and looked delicious. The chandeliers, glass work enhanced the look of the boutique further. The open air garden cafe very nice , staff kind and polite , helpful. In the shop the goods are well displayed with price tags so easy to identify. The display shelves are so pretty and the colour combination very unique. Overall this is more like a pretty waffle or bakery museum and I loved my time here. I enjoyed vanilla waffle . Wanted to sit down in garden cafe so had also queued for the waiting line but it rained heavily suddenly so left in the middle and this time happy only with the wonderful waffle, will return next week or soon for a coffee and pastry .
Mamata B — Google review
Magnificent. If you’re visiting Lille and would like some exquisite pastries and sweets, then consider visiting Meert. It is much better than some of the other/more expensive tourist traps. It’s situated in a beautiful building, which has been decorated beautifully.
Dan — Google review
A true jewel in the heart of Lille! Meert is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the sweets. The interiors are simply breathtaking—opulent chandeliers, historic wooden decor, classical sculptures, and ornate ceilings that transport you to another era. Whether you’re seated inside the regal tea salon or strolling through their boutique, the ambiance is a visual feast. I tried the coffee and their signature vanilla and raspberry-filled waffles—a delightful treat that lives up to its reputation. The coffee was beautifully presented and smooth, and the raspberry waffle had just the right balance of tart and sweet. Perfect for a special outing or if you’re looking to indulge in a bit of old-world French charm. A must-visit if you’re in Lille.✨
Harshini K — Google review
How can this be anything but 5*? The pastries, the service, the setting, the shop, the history, everything is impeccable and the price point is reasonable. I think Meert may be a victim of its own reputation, as it is busy and people clearly expect perfection, but in our experience it lived up to it, and of all our culinary experiences in Lille this will be the one I remember forever.
Geoffrey B — Google review
The mille-feuille was absolutely delicious, and the éclair was good, but I didn’t really like the dark chocolate. I really enjoyed the waffle because it was unique and different from the usual. The atmosphere of the place was wonderful, and the best part was the excellent service. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it in time for lunch.

The food here was decent – both the main course and dessert were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. What really took away from the experience, though, was the attitude of one of the staff members, who came across as quite arrogant. I was hoping for a warmer, more inviting atmosphere, but everything felt a bit cold and flat. For the price point, I expected better service and a more enjoyable overall experience.

Le Barbue d'Anvers is a wonderful restaurant known for its hearty dishes, fresh seafood, and extensive beer selection. The two-story building features a bistro-style environment with an interior design that showcases wooden elements and unique ornaments. Some of the exquisite dishes include beer-cooked shellfish with vegetables and a delicious duck dish with potatoes, artichokes, and truffles.
Le Barbue d’Anvers was a fantastic experience. We were here at New Year’s Eve when they open at 12. As a starter we choose (unfortunately) only one plate to share of their sausage plate. As the main courses we had three different plates. All were served on very hot plates. This is just love <3 The food stays hot for the whole meal <3 The stu was very good, the beef was excellent, and the chicken was good. This was an excellent experience even if I did not manage to get my digestive at the end (needed to rush out to catch a train) .

I found this place by mistake as I walking down town in Lille and decided to give it a try. I was alone and I tried the croquet maroilles, the poulet maroilles and a 500ml local beer. Firstly, the croquet maroilles was excellent. It was served with salad and it was exceptionally good (costed 7 euro). Secondly the chicken was good but not the best I tried. The sauce was a bit thin and had not a lot of flavour. The plate was served with fried potatoes which were tasty (costed 19.5 euro). Lastly, the beer was exceptional 😁. I must say that the hospitality and helpfulness of the personnel was beyond expectations and made the whole experience amazing. Very well done.

Otherwise, quick preparation of food and warm atmosphere.

reservations highly recommended especially on a weekend. great food, service is also lovely. great for groups
Anna R — Google review
This restaurant sits in a sort of building backyard, preceded by two others more economical places I'd say (judging from what it was served), so it was found almost because of a chance and - at the net of my experience - I wish I would have not found it at all. Firstly, it has to say that we arrived here only because we were after dining while eating the two popular Lille dishes: the carbonnade flamande (stewed meat) and waterzoï (boiled poultry in bouillon with cream). We couldn't find any of those on the first top 5 restaurants we visited on our path, and being already 8pm we decided to give it a go to this place, though the cost already put me on the warning condition. But I thought, ok these are local special mains, so they must somehow be with worth; hence we entered. At the entrance, the waiter indicates is the table number where we can sit. He said you can go upstairs, table 10. Every restaurant I've been so far, even the cheapest, has always seen waiters escorting us to the table, so this was already collecting its second negative point. Finally at the second floor, another waiter see us arriving, and when I said about the table, it let us accommodate next to a table close to the kitchen (which was having the door fully open because of the hot weather and the fact they could not keep their windows open), a fridge with cold drinks and the elevator used by guests (the space for passing between my chair and the lift was so reduced, that I wonder what would have happened if a person on a wheel chair was there). Anyway, the waiter comes with the blackboard with the daily selection, but we say we want those dishes. He suggests that they will take only five minutes to be prepared and whether we were ready to eat. We just say so and literally after seven minutes the mains arrive, clearly suggesting previously cooked food, which in fact was barely warm, tasty, but definitely not worth the money they sought. In serving the meal, part of my stew was poured on the underneath napkin; when it came the time of the wine, some drops went on the table, and the tea (served in a metal teapot you usually get in a second-hand style bar) was heavily dropped on the table. The dessert selection was almost okay, and the glasses of wines good, but this was very little to compensate the bill. Toilets are in the basement, where a second guest hall is located, with the gents with a door open and the hand wash basin in the main room somehow.

Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral in Lille is a 19th-century Gothic revival structure dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Construction began in 1854 but was only completed in 1999, with a unique main facade designed by local architect Pierre-Louis Carlier and engineer Peter Rice. The cathedral houses a crypt and a sacred art museum featuring works by artists such as Warhol and Baselitz.
We visited the cathedral on Sunday. From the outside, it appeared rather unimpressive, with a heavy, grey architectural style. But once inside, it was stunning—especially the vibrant stained glass windows and the beautifully crafted sculptures.

Every time I’m in Lille, I try to visit this place. I’m not religious or a believer at all, but I enjoy the sense of peace here. My favorite part is the front wall made of stone slabs, glowing with the sunlight streaming through. I love that Europeans are not afraid to blend modern elements into what is traditionally seen as timeless and unchanging.
Maxim B — Google review
I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for a church before but since I really enjoyed my visit, I’ll make an exception! I spent about 20 minutes inside. At the back of the church, there are explanations for each shrine about the art, paintings, and/or statues you can see, also available in English. The decorations in general are very nice. The exterior is original, and inside you can find the story of the church’s construction.
N V — Google review
When i got to the church for a visit on a saturday noon, it was so crowded with people on their best clothes for mass. A nice sight to see locals with their religion. The church itself is nice with a mix of modern and gothic architecture and many arts displayed for the visitors to see.
Mike A — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral today, and it left me in awe. This cathedral is a stunning blend of history, art, and spirituality — from its contemporary exterior to the richly detailed interiors. The stained-glass windows are absolutely breathtaking, filling the space with color and light in a way that feels both majestic and intimate. Each chapel is beautifully preserved, with intricate altars, ornate mosaics, and artwork that tells centuries of stories. One of the highlights was the altar under the towering stained glass panels, glowing softly with red votive lights — a sacred and serene corner that invites you to pause and reflect. I also appreciated the scale model of the cathedral displayed inside, which offered a fascinating look into the architectural vision and construction history. The mix of Gothic and modern design throughout the cathedral makes it truly unique — especially the bold, minimalist main altar contrasted against the more traditional chapels. Whether you’re interested in architecture, religion, or simply want a quiet, inspiring place to explore in Lille, Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille is a must-visit. It’s a space where past and present coexist beautifully — peaceful, grand, and full of wonder.

Musee de l'Hospice Comtesse, situated in Lille, France, is a museum housed in a historic hospice dating back to the 15th-18th centuries. Originally founded by Countess Jeanne of Flanders in 1237, this architectural marvel showcases a mix of medieval, Renaissance, and classical styles.
Initially establish and built in 1236 under the Countess of Flanders, it was a hospice for centuries and was run by the Augustinian Sisters for 500 years. In more recent times, soldiers from the French Revolution were treated here. Now a museum of the history and decorative arts of Lille housing furniture, Flemish paintings, carved wood, ceramics, goldwork and tapestries. In town center and definitely worth a visit.

A must visit if you're in Lille. Tickets are very cheap and the museum itself is great! Easily my favourite musuem of the ones we visited during our trip. Some really interesting history and beautiful rooms/ architecture.
Sophie S — Google review
We really liked this museum and how welcoming it was. Buying tickets was easy, and so very reasonably priced!! The main section was very interesting to look through, with plenty of information boards in each space. The guides were also helpful and friendly and explained what Lille 3000 was, so we'd better understand some of the exhibition. Some of the displays had very helpful digital info points that gave more information about items in the room, perfect for answering questions! Unfortunately the chapel was closed when we visited, but we enjoyed looking at the courtyard space with it's interesting Lille 3000 exhibition in!
Jessica W — Google review
I liked the architecture of the building itself. This place contains art that is not the normal ones that you usually see in museums around Paris with some more modern take on art there was a room with a projection that felt kind of a new idea and something interesting to see the location of the museum is very nice and it was included in my city pass.
Mike A — Google review
We had a great time at this museum leaning about the French history during the 16th-18th centuries. The staff were very nice to us, even though the museum seemed small, it was definitely worth it and the price of €22 for 4 people. The history is super fun to read and see, especially their temporary exhibit that represents different mixes of feeling about the world and about the history back in the centuries. Their permanent exhibits that are in the main building are worth to see, with more interesting paintings and architecture. The dog at the end was pretty sick too, haha. Overall, it was definitely worth the visit in Lille for something to do!
Nikolai M — Google review
With a 7 euro entrance, same as the Palais des Beaux Arts, this is a poor choice where we spent only around 30 mins with nothing much to see! A waste of money & time. Avoid at best, way over rated!
William G — Google review
The museum about the nuns is extremely short and the lady welcoming you don't speak English so it was very difficult to ask questions or navigate. We expected to see some furnished rooms from an actual hospital but there were only not related paintings. The current temporary exhibition is not fitting at all, ruins the atmosphere and you are obligated to pay for it even if you don't care about it.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Lille! My partner and I moved here recently and are learning French. We had brunch here, and our server explained a game to us and showed us how to play in French, going back and forth to English if we seemed confused and repeating in French. He was so patient and nice! Even though we are beginners in our French lessons and barely able to communicate, we were able to play the game, learn French while doing so, and we had a great time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff is the best we have met in Lille so far. Since we have moved here, we will be bringing all of our family members and friends when they visit. Thank you for a fabulous day and birthday brunch!

What an amazing place! You'd fall in love with the concept if you are a massive board game fan. We were left in awe by their collection of games and also the kindness of the staff. Must try if you visit Lille. Edit after 2 years: Came in again after 2 years but this time for longer time. Nothing much has changed in terms of vibes but the food is expensive and not qualitative. You can get a lot better food for the same price outside.

Friendly staff and good food. There’s a huge selection of board games, and it costs only 5€ per person. Also, no need to worry about the instructions, there’s people in charge of explaining the game rules to each table. Originally built on the site of a Roman temple dedicated to Mars, it has undergone numerous restorations and expansions throughout its long existence.
A breathtaking piece of Gothic architecture nestled in the heart of Lille. Église Saint-Maurice immediately draws you in with its towering spires and intricate stonework. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a peaceful, almost timeless atmosphere — the kind that invites quiet reflection no matter how bustling the city is outside. The stained glass windows are stunning, especially when sunlight streams through and colors the interior in a soft, spiritual glow. Every detail — from the arches to the altars — speaks to centuries of craftsmanship and devotion. You don’t need to be religious to appreciate the serenity and historical depth this church offers. It’s free to enter, which makes it a must-visit whether you’re exploring Lille for the day or just wandering the old town. Great spot to slow down, take in the silence, and feel the weight of history. A hidden gem for lovers of architecture, culture, and calm.
Harshini K — Google review
Wonderfully decorated church, one of the best in Lille. They have candlelight performances every once in a while, on Fridays. We enjoyed our visit although seats are quite uncomfortable.
Filip B — Google review
There is too much built up around the church to enjoy its view and grandeur Église Saint-Maurice de Lille is a beautiful historic church with remarkable architecture and a rich history, but unfortunately, its grandeur is somewhat lost due to the dense urban surroundings. The streets and buildings built up around it make it difficult to fully appreciate the scale and elegance of the structure from a distance. Inside, the church still retains its charm, with intricate details, stained glass, and a serene atmosphere that hints at its former glory. While the interior is worth visiting for architecture and history enthusiasts, the exterior views don’t quite do justice to what must have originally been a striking landmark. A hidden gem somewhat overshadowed by the modern cityscape.
Rodney L — Google review
I was walking around Lille and I came across this church. I tend to go to churches everywhere I go. Churches are always peaceful and are such a change of pace from our busy lives. This church was really nice and quiet, with brilliant art everywhere. The architecture is really impressive, full of awe and wonder, it makes you think that there is something bigger than humanity. There was no queue, you can just walk in and walk around the church, as long as you're respectful, all is well. If you're in the Lille area, come to the Saint Maurice church, you will not be disappointed.
Festus J — Google review
Église Saint-Maurice de Lille is a magnificent example of Gothic architecture nestled in the heart of Lille. This historic Catholic church impresses visitors with its soaring spires, intricate stone carvings, and stunning stained-glass windows that fill the interior with colorful light. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a serene and majestic atmosphere, perfect for quiet reflection or appreciating centuries-old craftsmanship. The church’s spacious nave, detailed altars, and beautiful frescoes showcase the rich religious and artistic heritage of the region. Église Saint-Maurice also plays an active role in the local community, hosting regular services and cultural events that add to its vibrant presence in the city. Its central location makes it easily accessible and a peaceful retreat amid Lille’s bustling streets. For those interested in history, architecture, or spirituality, Église Saint-Maurice de Lille offers a meaningful and memorable experience. It’s a must-visit landmark that beautifully combines faith, art, and history in one impressive package.

You'll find not only stained glass windows and statue of St. Maurice. There is a chapel dedicated to St. Barbara. The patron saint of gunners. Notable paintings by Van Oost, the younger. His work spans between 1668 to 1708 in Lille. The navel organ dates from 1882!

Les Frères Pinard is a charming deli and cafe in Lille that has gained popularity for its rustic-chic ambiance and delectable offerings. The establishment prides itself on providing a delightful experience, whether you choose to relax indoors amidst the warm brick interior or bask in the Lillois sunshine on their azure terrace. Their menu showcases an array of regional French specialties, with an emphasis on locally sourced produce from their adjoining grocery store.
Nice place for a glass of wine. Liked it so much we went back the next night. Menu is online and is organised by region which although good makes it harder to see the choice of wines. Look hard to find the €6 Cremmant. Service could be a bit warmer but quick and efficient.

Lovely atmosphere, food, excellent wine list and friendly staff. We had the board of the day and some wines of the moment to begin. The set up of the menu with the regions was a great idea too.

A great find! We had just watched Stage 1 of Tour de France and fancied a nice planche. Delicious mixed platter of cheese and charcuterie with pickles etc. We also chose a luscious Viognier to drink. Very good quality food, nice service, and good value for the quality and setting too. We would recommend 👌
Tom F — Google review
They have a nice wine sélection from most french regions. We took the planche of the day at 25€ and dome extras a bottle of wine and the end we paid around 33/per person It's value for money comparing to other wine bars of the area.

What a gem! The meat and cheese options were so varied. Honestly the best I’ve ever tried. You get a decent portion of each you choose, and the wine I had chosen by the waiter paired so well with our dinner. A must-visit!

Went here last night, 27th September, had a great evening, got recommended a perfect white that my wife loved and a red for me that was to die for. Spent the evening there and a was happy to pay for the service received. Went back tonight for more of the same, sat in the same seats at the bar, only to be rounded on by the most obnoxious and rude person I've met. Asked us where we were sitting, we said here and he said "absolutely not, I don't have people sitting at my bar (what are the 8 bar stools there for, you may think), all tables are booked, you'll have to leave." We literally left, whilst the other staff looked at their feet, I wouldn't pay your hard earned cash to such an unwelcoming owner / manager.

Everything was perfect and the staff was great except for two women that work there at the changing room. Went there with a friend but she wasn’t feeling well and vomited. First thing the staff do is shout at her telling her to go out in a really mean way. I came back to get my jacket and they started arguing saying that as an adult she should be able to contain it. Honestly I was so disappointed in these women screaming and being mean at us just because she vomited. Mind you we paid to go there and we also cleaned behind us. But thank you very much to Hocine the director of the club who was kind enough to take care of us afterward! Him and the security were so nice, they were really helpful and the only reason that I am giving 5stars.

A reeeally nice bar! It's a bit hidden, and from the outside you don't really know what to expect, but it's a very nice surprise once inside. The cocktails are very good (and actually cheap for the 100 cl ones), the decor is very chill and romantic, and the barman was very nice too. Nothing to complain about

Discovering this hidden gems in the center of Lille was an absolute delight. The atmosphere and decoration exuded a captivating charm that instantly drew me in. The staff exhibited remarkable professionalism, demonstrating their warm and welcoming nature. However, I must admit that the cocktails left me a tad disappointed. I was impressed by the presentation of the cocktails, served in exquisite glassware that added a touch of elegance to the experience. However, when it came to the flavor combinations, they fell slightly short of my expectations. While they were enjoyable, I have had the privilege of savoring better cocktails in my career. I approach every experience with an open mind and a willingness to revisit in the future. I believe in the potential for growth and improvement, and I look forward to seeing how this establishment evolves.

One of the best places to have a chat while enjoying a drink. Large choice of beers. (local and Belgian mostly) there is a nice atmosphere the barmaids are nice and benevolent, there are 4 inside rooms and there's also an inside small courtyard where you can smoke and have a chat or just unwind. You can often find live musicians playing different styles of music. And on the walls paintings or photographs for sale.

The place is small so do not expect a big table when you have a big group. There is no decoration and the music is so low that can completely forget about it. Sometimes it is a good thing though. Nestled in the heart of Lille, the Théâtre du Nord is a captivating cultural landmark that has transformed from its origins as the Grand Garde, which once sheltered royal guardsmen. This historical building showcases an impressive facade adorned with the sun motif of Louis XIV and stands proudly among other architectural gems like the neo-vernacular Chambre de Commerce and the stunning opera house. As you wander through Place du Théâtre, you'll be enchanted by its Belle Époque charm reminiscent of cities like Amsterdam or Berlin.

The building of the Grand-Garde dates from 1717 and, as the name suggests, the Royal Guard resided here. Their main task was to maintain order in the period after the death of Louis XIV. Today, Le Théâtre du Nord is located here. The coats of arms of the city of Lille and the one of France are depicted here on the front facade. The sun refers to the sun king Louis XIV.

(Translated by Google) Warm and simple welcome. The menu selection is very limited and disappointed me a little, but that's a very personal feeling. That said, I liked the cocktail I chose and it was full-bodied! (With bourbon). The upstairs is cute. The ground floor is nice but doesn't have the cozy, discreet bar atmosphere of the past. The terrace doesn't have the most beautiful view, but it has the merit of existing! I remember that it was part of the reason for the closure during the Covid era, but it's a shame. I prefer to be inside and enjoy the atmosphere and the decor. (Original) Accueil chaleureux et simple. Le choix de la carte est très réduit et m'a un peu déçu mais cest très personnel comme ressenti. Park
Nestled in a 3.5-hectare green setting, Zoo de Lille is a compact and lush zoo that showcases a diverse range of birds, mammals, and reptiles in themed areas. It has gained recognition as one of the top parks in Lille, France for its impressive collection of animals from various species. Visitors can immerse themselves in an enriching and exotic experience while exploring over 100 wild species from around the world.
A small, family-friendly zoo ideal for young children, located within a large park that offers additional activities and is just a short walk from the city center. The zoo features a diverse range of animals, making it an engaging and enjoyable visit. However, it does not include larger or more exotic species like bears, penguins, or tigers. A slow paced walk through the entire zoo takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, due to its compact size. Admission is very affordable, with adult tickets priced at around 6 EUR. Overall, it's a pleasant and budget-friendly experience—great for spending an hour or two with kids.
Emil A — Google review
Great place to visit! Really reasonably priced. A number of the exhibits were closed for renovations so we weren't able to see everything. Would definitely recommend a trip to the Zoo if you're visiting Lille!
Sophie S — Google review
Zoo de Lille is very good for the price! We were pleasantly surprised by a wide range of animals in the zoo. The attraction unfortunately at the moment is under renovation which I imagine will be complete by summer season (2025.) Despite the building work we still managed to spend well over an hour at the zoo. It’s worth noting this is not a whole day attraction and will only take you a few hours at most.
Geo — Google review
Fabulous small zoo with many birds and small mammals. Lots of space in the enclosures. Takes about 1 hour to walk round. Can wander amongst tropical birds so watch out for their deposits from above 🤭
Jenny C — Google review
A lovely, compact, well-kept zoo, ideal for families with small children. Suitably priced (as at 2025 it is €6 for adult and about €3 for children) as it is took about an hour and a half go through with a short stop for lunch. There are no large animals like elephants, rhinos, hippos, zebra etc. but a nice selection of smaller ones which were great to see - playful meerkats, sleepy warthogs and tapirs, porcupine, tortoise, an array of birds, red panda. The zoo was well-maintained, not an overload of signage, small amounts of information (name of the animal in English) and lots of clear spacious paths, a huge amount of greenery so it felt more like you were visiting animals in their natural habitats. Throughout the zoo they featured large glossy photos of their animals. No wait to enter in summer holidays. Free toilet access inside the zoo. Small lunch option (toasties and crepes, ice creams etc). A lift available for disabled visitors to access areas with steps. Good links via bus if preferring that to a walk from the heart of Lille. Outside the zoo there is a large play area and mini theme park so worth visiting this area with young ones!
Mama S — Google review
Small, but very amazing zoo. Cheap entree fee. Not to busy, so you can watch most of the animals in peace. Very fun, would recommend!!
Henrico B — Google review
Not a bad little zoo. Part of it was closed when we went. Although it's small, it has some nice enclosures and some animals not often encountered in zoos. It could use a few more zoo maps as they seem to be few. Also, beware of Google Maps if you're walking and looking for the zoo. It sent us on a 50 minute journey around the citadel rather than the MUCH shorter direct route.
Li M — Google review
amazing for the price, much bigger than we expected! took about 3 hours to properly go around. one thing i have to say is i'm not sure how ethical it is to have pallas's cats which are adapted to cold environments, especially due to the heatwave - a lot of the animals were visibly struggling with the heat but of course this is out of the zoos control for the most part

Estaminet Chez La Vieille is a charming bistro that offers a taste of Flemish classics in a cozy, brick-lined dining room. It is part of a family of four estaminets and has been serving traditional dishes for decades. The cluttered bistro exudes an old-school charm with its beautiful tiled floor and vintage decor.
Lovely experience dining here. Service was excellent and managed our large group well. Can highly recommend the Assiette Regionale, which allowed me to sample a few different dishes from the menu.

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! There were plenty of options, and the portions were generous. We decided to try the regional plate, which allowed us to sample a little bit of everything, and I highly recommend it - it was delicious! *Assiette régionale - featuring specialties such as Carbonnade, Welsh au Maroilles, Croquette au Maroilles, and sliced Potjevleesch served with salad and fries). We also indulged in a delightful dessert, perfect for sharing. *La Flamanderole - thin regional butter waffles with regional vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate, and whipped cream. Booking in advance is definitely recommended!

very nice typical restaurant, very welcoming location. the dishes are good. not recommended for those who don't like cheese, in the room there is a strong smell of it (if you like it, you will appreciate it). the desserts are fantastic and very big. Average price, for a beer (50cl), welsh and a dessert 28€.

Good estaminet with traditional food from the region. My favorite one on the Gand street. Last time I came I saw a mouse though 😅
Darima T — Google review
Best to make a reservation before you come as it can get quite crowded. Here you will find traditional Lille cuisine that you won’t find in other parts of France. It was recommended by a local friend. Food served is quite rustic, no frills but not cheap either. We ordered the what looked like a baked cheese flan tart to start that was incredibly delicious. My favourite was the beef slow cooked in beer that was so tender and soft… would have preferred mashed potatoes as it would have gone so well with the gravy but it came with a large portion of fries instead. The chicken baked in cream and cheese was a bit too rich but nonetheless quite delicious.

We went here for dinner on a Friday night. The venue is great. There’s a beautiful entrance that leads to the restaurant. We decided on the full experience. Basically a surprise menu with drinks. We had a great evening and the food is great. Some things weren’t as expected though. Although it was a full experience, a drink with the first and last course wasn’t included. That was an extra €50 we didn’t expect to spend when we booked as it was supposed to be a *full* experience. All other courses did come with a pairing. The drinks were mostly wine, except for one beer. I like beer, but this beer was pretty bad. Lastly we were a bit surprised that we had to share a small piece of meat as the main course. Overall we had a great evening out and this restaurant ended up being some great value for money. I would definitely recommend trying Bloempot at least once.

Incredible!!! This was a treat from the entry way down an unassuming alley to the rustic decor. The food was a surprise with each of the courses. Each was tantalizing and paired with the perfect non-slcoholic option (because we don't drink, but they had alcohol options as well). Everything was flavorful, locally sourced, organic, and perfect!!! We thoroughly loved it and would highly recommend!!!
Holly C — Google review
Great restaurant with good service and an imaginative and interesting menu. The savoury courses were excellent but the sweet courses a little disappointing. The alcohol pairing was very different to the norm.

Fantastic surprise menu for €60 created using local ingredients. There’s an option to get alcoholic or non alcoholic pairings as well This was my favourite meal after 2 months of travel around Europe. The food was perfectly cooked and creative. Hats off to the chef! I highly recommend this place!

An excellent meal with an interesting progression! A very modern take on the local cuisine which is worth trying. On the night we visited they gladly fit us in despite being quite busy. The meal was a little slow (no problem for us) but each dish was well worth the wait.
Jacob Z — Google review
Loved this place which serves quality & creative dishes, made with local products only. The staff was lovely and took the time to talk us through each course of the meal. The atmosphere was fancy but still cosy and warm (industrial design). You can expect to spend at least 2-3h there! Would definitely go back again someday
My-Linh T — Google review
Unique, charming and cozy restaurant, starting with the little stone path to the entrance. Service was efficient and friendly, including the explanations of each dish. There was a bit of "sameness" in the first three courses - I really started craving something with more punch & presence. It came, thankfully in the chicken & merguez dish. All is all - the food experience was fine - not amazing - as indicated by us counting down the courses. The pairing was disappointing - I misread and thought that you could choose a wine pairing or a beer pairing. I didn't know it was a combo - but more beer in the bunch than I would have liked. I would recommend the experience to others, but I don't expect that I would go back myself.

The Citadel of Lille, situated in the northern French city of Lille, is a remarkable 17th-century fortress designed by the renowned military engineer Sebastien Le Prestre de Vauban. Often referred to as the 'Queen of Citadels,' it boasts a star-shaped layout that provided innovative defensive capabilities against artillery attacks. This historic site offers monthly guided tours and is surrounded by a scenic public park.
Me and my boyfriend had a nice long walk along the path around Citadelle de Lille. The place is so big that we both agree that it takes the second time visit to finish exploring everything. You can see trees everywhere and it is beautiful. I highly recommend if you want a long nice walk. I am not sure about pinic here because I do not see anyone doing so. However, I could see it is a perfect place for bikers, hikers and runners. We had a lot of fun taking our time admiring the beautiful nature, there were a lot of place to rest along the way if you get tired.

We visited to enjoy a walk in a green space, and we weren't disappointed! Very easy to find with clear paths and plenty to see as you walk around. It was busy, but the space is so big it really didn't feel it. We just did a loop around the citadel building, but would have done more had we more time in Lille. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. We spotted two Herons! There were spaces to stop and rest, places to picnic and plenty of spaces for kids to play in various playground areas. Fab, free public space!

First time visiting Lille and wanted to see the Citadel. Surrounding park is lovely, plus the small zoo. But we couldn't get into the heart of the Citadel - it's declared a Military zone and shut off tocthe public. Big let down.

Just a little (read: "lot") disappointed that we couldn't come inside and see more. The surroundings are great, however! A total esacapade from the city madness. The "organic landscaping service" gave me a huge chuckle. I think we stayed playing with the sheep the whole time there 🙂

I was so disappointed when I found out that this place were closed for the public 😳 It’s worth to discover the green public areas around this place ☀️
Mark L — Google review
The citadel itself is ok. The park is nice for a jog not really a walk as a loop around the citadel is at least 2 km with monotonous landscaping. There was also a cheesy funfair whilst i was there and lots of drunk but friendly people at night. Feels like an urban park/wooded area that's been through phases of neglect and care.

Nestled in the vibrant Vauban Esquermes district of Lille, SOlange is a chic bistro that beautifully marries contemporary design with a Franco-Asian culinary philosophy. This elegant eatery boasts a menu that changes weekly, showcasing inventive seasonal dishes featuring locally sourced meat and fish, all expertly paired with fine wines. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
SOlange restaurant in Rue d’Isly in Lille ( Northern France) was a revelation, with delicious innovative French cuisine. They offer 2 Menu Degustation dinner meals, one at 45 Euros and one at 65 Euros. They also offer an excellent French wine pairing menu. The lunch menus are cheaper so are popular. They also offer a cheese trolley of great French cheeses. This is a small intimate restaurant ideal for couples or small groups of 6 people. Most diners were local, which for us was lovely to enjoy.

It was a real pleasure to eat at SOlange. A mix of traditional and modern inventive cooking, all very well executed. Great flavours and textures. Very good value for the price. Nice to see a restaurant that sells quality wines at very reasonable cost. Will certainly wish to book again when visiting Lille. Superb!

Small restaurant but their food is rich of flavour. Some fusion that you might not expect. I had the fish, and it was one of the best fish I had ever tried. So fresh, skin was crispy although they have creamy coconut sauce in it. My husband had the fillet mignon pork, it was also really tender and flavourful. Another place that I recommend if you are visiting Lille. The oeuf parfait was not the best, but main dishes were perfectly good. Their location is a bit far from the center, but you will not disappoint to take a bit road to this restaurant.

Great small restaurant with Michelin brand. There are about 35 places to sit. Personnel is very kind and tells you everything about the meal you have on your plate.

Although the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff does make an effort, it is still not what you would expect from a raffiné restaurant. There are 2 choices of menu with 2 plates each, so you would expect it to be awesome, and it was tasteless and cold. The steak was half nerves. The lamb was half fat. Also, we asked for ice and salt, it took forever to come. When it came, The food was cold and the ice tasted moldy, which was weird.

It is just one big and two smaller rooms but ok, it is worth to see. We parked at some nearby street for 14e - it is horrible! But entrance fee was just 11e for 2+2 family. It is cute... museum is full of interesting exponats. The most beautifull were ants and another live species... wc available, small coffe bar available but it was overcrowded. Overally good experience, kind staff, a lot of educational sites.

Small museum but plenty of things to see. Stuffed local and exotic animals, as well as living animals in terrariums. Minerals, dinosaurs, a few fossils, skeletons. Unfortunately there is no souvenir shop nor is there an option to buy food or drinks. Toilets available, nice and clean. Very recommended for children. Overall very nice experience.
Eva S — Google review
Nice place to visit, the vivariums with live insects, spiders and millipedes are great. You could see really nice specimens of mimetic insects, like Stick bug and Leaf bug, Madagascar bugs, Crickets and many more. There are also a few dioramas with stuffed mammals, a huge collection of European and worldwide species of birds and a few groups of skeletons arranged in the comparative animal style. Despite the fact it is a small museum, it really worths to pay a visit. The lovers of old style-classic natural history museums will be delighted. Enjoy the visit!
Razvan R — Google review
It was a free day, but we had to wait about 40 minutes to get in. Bones, fossils, stuffed animals. The insects were alive, very rare and interesting! The children were very happy.

It’s a small natural history museum in Lille. Cheap to get in and I guess it’s ok for the prices. It’s full (and I mean full) of stuffed animals especially birds. So it depends how keen you are to see stuffed animals. My kids (12 and 10) quite liked it but note that there are no English translations so you’ll need to speak French to some extent or just not mind. On the bright side the cafe is really nice and the gift shop is good too. It’s worth it if you’ve an hour or so to kill but don’t make a special trip.

The Porte de Paris is a grand arch monument in Lille, built in the 17th century to commemorate Louis XVI's capture of the city. It was part of the fortified walls constructed after Louis XIV captured Lille, and it remains one of the few remaining gates from that time. Designed by renowned architect Simon Vollant, this monumental gate features baroque angels at the top celebrating victory with copper trumpets, as well as sculptures of Mars and Hercules symbolizing war and strength.

🇫🇷“Porte de Paris” is an Arc de Triomphe built in the 17th century to commemorate Louis XIV conquering the city. 🇫🇷 Across the street from the Porte de Paris, there's something commonly seen in Belgium and north of France: a Belfry (bell towers), the word comes from the Middle English berfrey, a term for a wooden tower used in medieval times. 🇫🇷 People can climb to the top of the Belfry at 104 meters to get a panoramic view of the Lille , but we did not have enough time (that is my excuse anyway 😅)

We visited during the Braderie weekend from London, Coffee Makers was great as their reduced menu was still exciting. We decided to go for the cinnamon toast and ham, egg and cheese croissant. Both were tasty, but the cream that came with the cinnamon toast was subtle and tasty. The caramel latte was luscious too. It has a buzz and a lively atmosphere which is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful with their service.
Ray T — Google review
It was my first visit to France, and we discovered this cafe online. It had excellent reviews and offered "gluten-free options," which was exactly what my friend needed. The coffee was amazing; we had lattes and an extra treat ;) The barista brought us a sample of a new blend they source from Costa Rica. I really enjoyed the atmosphere; the music was great, and so were the treats! The highlight of the experience was the service from the two baristas. They were friendly and kind, and helped me perfect my French. It was horrible, but okay. ;)
Brian S — Google review
Love this place! Everything is tasty here, especially the pastries and cakes. Tried 4 different ones in 2 days, all tasted amazing. Coffee is really good too! Would definitely come here again when I revisit Lille!
Jocelyn K — Google review
Coffee Makers is a must go to if you visit Lille. I’ve tried their latte caramel, tigrou, chocolat au fountain, and tarte crumble fruit, and I was blown away. The quality and the taste of the pastry was simply delicious. The coffee was fresh and complimented the deserts well. The ambience of the place gave a heartwarming feeling and the staff were friendly and helpful, definitely recommend giving it a try!

Le Tripostal, located in the Euralille district of Lille, is a former mail sorting office that has been transformed into a contemporary art exhibition venue and performance hall. This cultural hub offers six thousand square meters of exhibition space spread over three levels and hosts various events and concerts. Conveniently situated between the Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe train stations, it is easily accessible for visitors.
Every year Tripostale organized an exhibition around a topic. This year is the Vanhaerents Art Collection "Au bout de mes reves". Last year was Utopy, and so on. So every year is different, what is constant is the good taste of the curators who have an eye for interesting and thought-provoking exhibitions of contemporary art. I am not a big fan of contemporary art, but for the case of Tripostale, this place is the big exception, since the curators somehow always manage to prove me wrong that all contemporary art is rubish. Even if you do not like contemporary art, you should give this place a chance.
Teddy A — Google review
Friendly staff, the gallery was beautiful. Worth it. Written explanation was available in french, english and dutch. Lockers available for storage of your things, for free. Recommend!

The Pom Pom Pompidou exhibition at Le Tripostal (until Nov 9th, 2025) is a fabulous journey through modern art. Including Man Ray, Dechamps, Eliasson and movements like Dada and Fluxus.
Jamie E — Google review
We loved our visit to Pom Pom Pidou at Le Tripostal in Lille. The exhibition over 3 floors was a well thought out journey through the development of modern art. We spent 1.5 hours enjoying the exhibits and thought it wax 12 € well spent.
Sarah P — Google review
Loved all the exhibitions I’ve seen there. Great curatorial work and nice place itself.
Ecaterina V — Google review
Contemporary art gallery but not a huge collection, for the ticket price at 18EURO pp, there are better options IMHO. There are 3 floors but the current exhibits are mediocre, nothing stands out and you can breeze through it in 30-45 minutes. Only visit if you are running out of things to do in Lille, otherwise I would pass.

Cheap entrance and very beautiful expositions. I would recommend!

Jardin Vauban, established in 1863, is a picturesque English garden located in Lille. It offers vast green spaces, lush trees, and charming water ponds, making it an ideal spot for families to spend quality time together. The park is home to over 20,000 species of flora and fauna, including century-old trees and statues of prominent French figures. Visitors can also explore the goat house transformed into a marionette playhouse for children.
One of the best parks in the city of Lille. Perfect for a morning jog or picnics (if the weather allows it). Bus stations in proximity and there are several restaurants nearby. Parking is also available but it's paying (?)

Very beautiful garden. Lots of places to sit. Lovely flowers and some wonderful paths to walk along. Worth a visit if you are in the area. It's right next to the zoo, so a perfect spot to stop and have a sit/your lunch if in the area.

I like that park 🤩 nice place to walk. If you are there, you have to see small cave! Magic place!
Radek — Google review
Nice and quiet city park. Small waterfall and different short passages for you to cross over the water are both worth taking a look if you have time on your hand. However, I feel like the garden could be better maintained.

It was a really a cool experience. Went out when It was warm and sunny on the day after Easter. They had a circus at the park next to us. But all the college students where out at the park just chilling and laying in the sun. Drinking beer enjoying the day. Played a little football saw some guys playing soccer. Really was a cool day!

Théâtre Sébastopol, located in downtown Lille, has been a prominent performing arts venue since its opening in 1903. Initially intended as a linen market, it was quickly transformed into a 2,000-seat theater after the opera house on the site burned down. The venue hosts a variety of events including concerts, plays, and comedy shows. With comfortable seating and good acoustics, it offers an enjoyable experience for visitors.
Great, as always. Cozy theatre in Lille. It's comfortable enough. They organise and propose interesting events throughout the year. The last time, I'd been there to watch a stand-up comedy show.

I came here for the LEJ concert in September 09. I had the international covid passport with me and the security was about to not let me in because it wasn’t the digital version. I think there should be more awareness and more politeness coming from someone who is supposed to check the certificates. Besides that the theater was beautiful and the concert superb.

Lots English people, Dutch, Belgium. Great atmosphere. From Paris by coach 2 to 3 hours really cheap and comfortable. I recommend

The charming Old Lille Market is a sight to behold, with its assortment of restored bourgeois homes lining the cobbled streets. The influence of Flemish culture is evident in the baroque architectural style that dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries. To begin your leisurely stroll, head over to Place Louise de Bettignies or Rue de la Monnaie, where you'll find yourself captivated by the intricate facades and gables adorning the buildings.
(On weekday) Small market but they have fruits, meat products, cheese and yogurt, etc. most things you’ll be looking for. On Sunday, the market came alive! There’re Vietnamese cooked food stall, Japanese bento, juices, grilled chicken, flowers, a lot of things to offer!
Haynes C — Google review

Victor S — Google review
Cosy And nice they do have delicious snacks stand, with fair prices. Recommended
Nio A — Google review
Most commercial places are closed on Sundays, so the market is the place to be. It is a bit too crowded and you can wait in line for 20 minutes or more for cheese and chicken. Still, the offer of fruits and vegetables is superior to supermarkets. A must-go!
Bernardo P — Google review
We found very good quality cheese here
Mandy Y — Google review
It's small, useful and attractive, though. You'll be happy to find here great oysters and cheeses every Sunday morning. Also offering (almost) local veggies and fruits. Pricing spreads from surprisingly decent (cheese) to surprisingly high (meat).
Christophe M — Google review
Amazing neighborhood market! Lots of different sellers. Fresh, good quality products. Also some snacks/"fast" food to take away. And plenty of terraces around where you can have a glass of wine ! Don't miss it while in LILLE on a sunny sunday morning !
Ricardo C — Google review
Market open on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday mornings. Best one in the city along with Wazemmes although smaller and a little bit more expensive. Open until 14:00 but you'd better be there before 13:00. I recommend the roast chicken you'll find in the big truck in the middle of the market. Very nice fruits, meat and fish also.

A really good bar to enjoy drinks and snacks with your friends. To lovers of cardboard games this is heaven 😁. The happy hour is from 5pm to 8pm.
Duda F — Google review
Very rude bar woman. Completely ignored us even though she wasn't doing anything else and no one else was at the bar, i was stood right in front of her and had to call out several times before she would acknowledge me. I speak some French so tried to order in French in case that was the issue, but the service didn't improve. She was dismissive at best and didn't listen to our orders. Shame as the bar is OK and in a good location
Tori B — Google review
Really cool bar to enjoy some drinks or play boardgames with friends. Open till late (2am) If you come decently early around 9pm it's easy to find a place even for a bigger group but later on the bar gets absolutely packed and it can take half an eternity to get a drink. On the other hand that means there is no pressure to buy drinks or food either. Had a truly great time !

The food was fine, not great. The wine is excellent. But the staff is the main reason I'm writing this review. They make you feel like you're an inconvenience to them. They don't seem to like it there. We ate and we left.
Olivier M — Google review
Cool place to sit. Very nice wine and excellent charcuterie.
Eric M — Google review
AVOID! I’d give it 0 if I could. Had a table booked, when we arrived we were told virtually all the menu wasn’t available apart from the more expensive food on the menu 🤔 Apologised (in French) to the waiter that I didn’t understand everything he was saying but tried to stumble through. He got a colleague who spoke English who then explained that actually the more reasonably priced food (for example the plat de jour) were available, however when his colleague came back he said it wasn’t and was then inpatient and rude so we cut our loses and left. We went across the road to Le Barbier Qui Fume and had amazing food and wine. I get the feeling they prey on tourists which is disgusting and not a true reflection of everywhere and everyone else we met
Tom S — Google review

The place is in a very nice spot, they do have plenty of games (didn’t know until I went inside as I was in terrace), but the snack we had were not relevant. Maybe I’ll go back to try some main dishes, but I wouldn’t recommend snacks, the samosas were extremely oily and the nachos were just ok. Great place to take a drink though.
