Estaminet Au Vieux De La Vieille is a charming venue with a terrace where you can savor traditional local dishes and desserts, along with coffee and draft beer.
We were looking around to have dinner and chanced upon this hidden gem . We are promptly attended to by a lady and were given a nice table outside and since the weather was great this was what we had requested as well. The service was stellar and I wish other restaurants could take some lessons from the staff here about customer service . The beef stew was just right , the Maroilles was very nice and our daughter loved the experience . Highly recommended for someone who wants to enjoy the traditional experience and cuisine
Anoop W — Google review
Summary: Inattentive service, average food and wine, atmosphere not different from other much better restaurants with outdoor seating. Will not recommend. Servers were running about as they seemed very busy during lunch time. Maybe try a less busy time if you still want to try your luck. My waiter was inattentive and only interested to quickly be done with it. I was initially thinking of ordering dessert to be served later and asking for his recommendation for a wine pairing. But since he was not paying attention and already looking/ shouting over to talk to his colleague across another table, I did not bother ordering much and kept to a simple main and a random wine. No bread offered and didn't check in at all if I need anything else (not even water). When I eventually got up and paid my bill (you have to go to the till; they don’t do it at your table), I was asked if the food was okay. When I gave my honest answer, no apologies offered either. The food — I ordered the Welsh au maroilles. It was so salty to the point of being inedible. I barely finished one-third of my plate. The salad was just bland and tasteless. The frites was probably the only saving grace but still nothing to write home about. Atmosphere - It’s all nice when it’s sunny but you get that everywhere else. So don’t bother here. Reminders (general): Despite all the above, if you still want to try this, make sure to reserve in advance. Places and restaurants get filled up easily in Lille. When sat outside, be prepared for secondhand smoke. Your coat, clothes and even your food will smell of secondhand smoke. People there will not be considerate of you even in restaurants.

Nice traditional atmosphere and generous portions, but food quality was inconsistent. Service was okay, though the ordering policy felt a bit strict. Worth trying for local dishes, but not a must-return spot.
Dimitris P — Google review
I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and the portions were impressively large—definitely good value for money. The beer was tasty and paired perfectly with the meal. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!
Ihor S — Google review
Fantastic guesthouse with excellent home-made fresh breakfast and very kind host. The room was clean, spacious and cozy. The bathroom was modern and functional. It was more than our expectation. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Incredible and typical Lillois restaurant. The service is very cheerful, the food is good (very, VERY rich). Great Lillois experience The tarte au Maroilles and the croquettes au maroilles are a must try !
Alice P — Google review
Sweet old restaurant in the old town of Lille. Food very local and cheese heavy. A bit too heavy for my taste but good and well prepared. Do not ask for bread lol.
Michael L — Google review
This place was a nice surprise. Good local food. Don't expect anything refined. North French kitchen is food of the farmers and coal miners back in the day if I'm correct. I really loved the taste of everything. Good portions... Local wines.. Very much wat I like. To me it feld like a Christmas diner. The service was very efficient, friendly en Quik. No bs.. Make sure you have reservations. When we came in there was nobody there but within 15 min the whole place was full. Price was OK.

Nestled in the heart of old town Lille, Estaminet Les Ptiots is a charming eatery that embodies the essence of Flemish culture. This delightful bistro offers a nostalgic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists alike. A must-try here is their sample platter, which allows you to savor four different local dishes in smaller portions—perfect for those wanting to explore northern specialties!
Amazing small Estaminet. Food is beyond expectations and service took me back in time... Friendly, warm and felt like home

Fantastic estaminet! Such a welcoming atmosphere, and the food was amazing! We had the Lille specialties of the Welsh and the Carbonnade Flamande. Would definitely recommend
Sarah H — Google review
The staff was very welcoming, and the food was great! My favorites were the potjevleesch and the Welsh. The dishes are quite heavy, but definitely worth trying.
Y T — Google review
If you’re looking for a restaurant in Lille where you can try regional Flemish cuisine, then Estaminet Les Ptiots is one of the best places to try it. They have a discovery platter where you can try 4 different local dishes - pretty good value if you’re adventurous and I heard the food is really what the locals love to have. I really enjoyed the Welsh complete and the Filet de poulet jaune cuisson. The Carbonnade flamande was interesting but quite good, while I’m personally not a fan of the Potjevleesche du chef (mainly personal taste, some people like it). The restaurant is usually full so do try to book in advance.
Your T — Google review
A great little restaurant (estaminet in French is a bistro/bar with a Flemish identity) in the restaurant filled, Rue de Gand. We had the lunchtime Plat du Jour which was a rich, filling, seafood gratinee served with frites and French bread. Filled with plenty of prawns, scallops, mussels and white fish. Excellent value at just €10.90 per person. I also had the Café Mignardaise for desert, which was a rich chocolate cake with cream and fruit. Very friendly staff, home cooked food, highly recommended.
Martin H — Google review
A busy lunchtime and they were very good at fitting us in and very friendly. The moules et frites were fantastic (a ton of moules for your money!)
Matthew T — Google review
Really really good small local restaurant serving wonderful plates from the area. Carbonnade was the best I've ever had anywhere. Happily go back. Booking essential though!

Food was great and the staff were attentive. We had the 4 in one combo to try their signature dishes and we didn't regret. Really loved their two cheesy dishes!

La Fleur de Lille is an upscale restaurant with an elevated seasonal menu and an extensive wine selection. It is located in one of the oldest streets in the city, offering a warm and elegant atmosphere. The carefully designed decor and refined details create a charming ambiance for diners. Visitors have praised the high-quality, well-presented, and delicious 3-course meals at this establishment. Guests also appreciate the attentive staff who provide a culinary experience that goes beyond just eating food.
Just had dinner here and it was fantastic. I was intrigued by this place after looking at some of the reviews. Specifically, I looked at the few negative reviews received and the responses from the manager of this account. I admired that the restaurant stands up for their food, as the reality is that the customer does not necessarily always have to be right. I had a 3-course meal, and simply put it was of high-quality, well presented and delicious. You can easily notice that they really care about their food here. The starter was light and flavorful, the Welsh was generous and outstanding, and it is impossible to forget about the dessert which was the recommendation of the chef. Fantastic. As for the service, I was treated very well, and the servers had no issue speaking English. If I ever get the chance to come back to Lille, there is no doubt that I will be returning to this place!
Brunito — Google review
La Fleur de Lille is quite a nice place with delicious food. The overall experience was very good, except for the cider—we ordered it and received small bottles, each costing €8, which was a bit surprising. Other than that, everything was great!
Sergiy — Google review
I had a three item menu with a dessert of chocolate mousse, which includes pieces of egg shells in it. The explanation they gave was it was pepper but it's identifiably egg shell as it flips (see video). And their resolution was to cancel the price for my dessert. Generally the food here is quite average imo.
Kaiying W — Google review
Staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The portions of the food we had were good.
Jinkyung C — Google review
Like most Kitchen nightmare's episodes. Service is decent but the food is hardly pleasurable. Chinese styled hot chicken as a starter, overcooked steak, bread, cheese, and an egg as the main course. Strawberry jam like with a scoop of ice cream for dessert. With 30 mins wait in between. We're left rather dissatisfied and disappointed.
Gary L — Google review
Food was bland, often cold or undercooked, with no flavour - across starter, main and desert. Atmosphere lacking - bright lights and no music. Slow service. Would not recommend - a waste of an evening in an otherwise lovely place.
Kiran G — Google review
Amazing food and high-quality service. This place never disappoints. The staff really knows their products and has excellent advice. I recommend this restaurant.

Breakfast restaurant
Le Pain Quotidien is a charming cafe located in one of Lille's beautiful city squares. They offer a menu with items prepared in-house, including breads, preserves, and desserts. The cafe emphasizes organic fruits and vegetables as well as locally sourced products. While it may seem like a bakery, Le Pain Quotidien also serves excellent breakfast options and opens early in the morning to accommodate guests. Visitors can expect friendly service and delicious food, such as the highly recommended mini pancakes.
We loved our breakfast here. We were looking for something healthy, with vegan options and hit gold with this spot. The coffee was also nice - came in very large mugs but that was appreciated! It felt like a calm way to start the day and overall a great experience.
Rosanne K — Google review
I visited Le Pain Quotidien recently, the café has a lovely, cozy atmosphere with warm lighting and comfortable seating — a great place to relax or catch up with friends. The staff were kind and attentive, and the service was quick and friendly, which definitely added to the positive vibe. That said, the food itself was visually appealing but quite average in taste. I tried the pancakes with yogurt and berry sauce, French toast with fresh fruit, and a simple breakfast plate with egg, bread, and butter — everything looked great on the plate, but flavor-wise, nothing stood out. It felt a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price point. The coffee and strawberry shake were decent, but again, nothing particularly memorable. If you’re going mainly for ambiance and a relaxed setting, it’s a nice spot. But if you’re looking for a food experience that’s flavorful or unique, you might find it a bit underwhelming. Overall, a pleasant place for a casual brunch, but more for the vibe and service than the food itself.
Harshini K — Google review
Le Pain Quotidien is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. My first experience was in Manhattan, so naturally I look for one every time I am in a new city. Luckily, Lille accommodated - perfect little spot and relaxed, slow service - exactly what you’d expect on vacation. For travelers learning French, the staff were very kind as I tried to order in French and felt comfortable asking for help with words I didn’t know.
Krystal G — Google review
I usually just pass through Lille on my travels, but this time we spent the night—and I’m so glad we did. In the morning, I was really craving that cozy, classic French “croissant and coffee” moment. I started walking through the city centre and stumbled upon this charming little spot. The pastries in the window looked so beautiful, I couldn’t help but walk in. I'm Polish, I don’t speak French (though I’ve tried—unsuccessfully!), but I was greeted by Frida, who spoke the most lovely English. She was incredibly kind and patient, and her warmth instantly put me at ease. It truly meant so much. I had a lot of anxiety about visiting France, but places like this made me feel genuinely welcome and safe—like I belonged. Frida gently let me know there was a small extra charge to sit in and made sure I was comfortable with that, which I really appreciated. I said yes and ordered an oat milk latte and a hibiscus croissant. She even gave me a little milk chocolate on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious—made with care, and you could feel it. Thank you again for such a warm welcome. Your kindness touched my heart and will stay with me for a long, long time.
RawJola — Google review
We chose this place because it has clearly labelled vegan items on the menu. We were hoping for croissants but they were all out (we visited around 3:30pm). I ordered soup of the day and despite constantly checking with the staff that everything ordered was vegan, soup was served with dairy butter on the side, which was not reassuring. Furthermore, I expected the soup to be served with fresh sourdough bread and/or baguette, as the menu indicates. Instead, it came with a large handful of ‘homemade croutons’ which were unseasoned dry bread and tasted very stale. The serving staff were very friendly and patient but we were disappointed by the unclean tables and menu cards.
Mateja P — Google review
I ordered a salmon and tuna salad to take away. It was €15. It literally had €3 worth of ingredients (more like a cold side salad), and I waited for over 10 minutes. Very very disappointed. I won’t be coming back. The lady who served me was nice though.
Natasha W — Google review
It's very quiet today but the service is really bad. Was seated at a messy table. My friend is vegan and the server didn't know if any of the soups were vegan or not. I order the miso salmon and the bowl came without the salmon. And the toilets are very dirty and one of the doors don't lock properly. With the price your paying for mediocre food I feel you have at least good service.
Suleman — Google review
Food was a disaster; eggs from powder, dry and COLD. Even though the butter was mentioned as a part of a breakfast set, I needed to ask for bringing it. The bread was dry and in the set they are not giving even the smallest leaf of salad. The avocado in the set of my friend was mostly unripe hence half of it uneatable. When I complained about the eggs, the writer seemed a bit irritated with me. I ate here 2 years before and was much better, now I will be eating next door where prices are the same, but food much better quality.

I love arabian food, but if Flandres Liban serves traditional liban food, then I don't like it. The falafel were not homemade and shawarma was served cold. Additionally it is overpriced.

(Translated by Google) I really like Lebanese cuisine, and honestly, I found it delicious from start to finish. I fell in love with the kofta and the gin and date, which were truly incredible in my opinion, and my friend preferred the hummus, which I must say was delicious. I'm someone who doesn't necessarily take the time to write reviews on Google, but go for it with your eyes closed, and I wasn't even paid to say that 🤤 In the last photo, we couldn't even wait to eat. 🙄 We each had an appetizer, a meze, a half bottle of wine, and a dessert. A really affordable price.

Amazing burgers and even better fry’s! The burgers are delicious and tasted Smokey and saucy. They were packed full of meat, cheese, and sauce. The prices are also on par with places in the area. I highly recommend going here for lunch!

Very nice place. simple and affable. this is a typical salad bar. you choose the basis and other ingredients, fill with sauces and "bon appetite". average salad - 6 €, large portion for 10 €. There's more space upstairs but we sat on bench seats on the ground floor and shared 2 plates of the most delicious, freshly made pancakes with apples and caramel sauce, and red berries and maple syrup respectively, plus 2 fresh orange juices. At roughly €16 it wasn't the cheapest brunch ever but we will definitely be back before we leave!
Natalie M — Google review
Great spot for breakfast and brunch. Easy, straightforward and fast offers. Make sure you try the pancakes! For more experiences like this follow @quiquinnv

Two different menus, but only the more expensive one is still valid. Hot drinks come as small puddles in big paper cups. Forgot to serve our order twice leading to long wait. If you're planning to eat here, bring a lot of time!
Tim M — Google review
Bagels excellent (Be Bruncher & Be Nordik), fresh orange juice and homemade fruit salads. Good coffee. Little hectic but nice armosphere. Nice staff.
Eric — Google review
Absolutely fantastic, loved the concept. A vibrant restaurant and very friendly staff! Superb👌🏾
Yoann M — Google review
Very good salads and nice dessert options. The bagels looked nice as well. The restaurant is really big which is very practical for families. The staff, even almost at closing was very nice and welcoming. Clean and cosy, it was a good spot for a casual dinner before a movie.

Pizza restaurant
Lou, located in Lille, is a unique restaurant that skillfully combines the tradition of Neapolitan pizzas with a diverse and inclusive offering. It provides options such as salad bar, detox juices, halal, vegan, and gluten-free choices. The restaurant offers a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for those seeking a culinary experience. Customers can customize their pizzas by choosing up to four ingredients to tailor it to their preferences. The quality of the pizza is highly praised with its excellently cooked crust.
Hadn’t had a vegan pizza in France in AGES!!! This pizza DEFINITELY satisfied our cravings 😍😍 Thank you for adding so many vegan choices!! I’m so used to just having 1 or two options but Lou truly went above and beyond!!! Keep going with the vegan options, it’s AWESOME. We even met Lou herself on our way out and she was truly a ray of sunshine, great values behind the creation of this restaurant to bring families who have different dietary restrictions together. Thank you to Lou and the whole team!

Really impressed with the pizza and the service. Super friendly. Loved the vegan options. Would highly recommend. Thought it was excellent value.

Great really tasty Pizza. Cheese was amazing. So many option for vegan meat, cheese and more. Fantastic. Thank you ☺️🤤
Yannick C — Google review
I recently tried the pizza at Lou, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it! One of the things that stood out to me was the option to customize your own pizza and choose up to four ingredients. This concept added a personal touch to my dining experience, allowing me to have a pizza tailored to my taste. The quality of the pizza was excellent, with a perfectly cooked crust that had just the right amount of crispness

Amazing food! Thank you so much
Tim F — Google review
The best vegan pizza of all time! Very cheap to be Lille and soo good, with so many options, fake meats and cheese, you have to try it, also with non-vegan people
Federica Q — Google review
Lovely clean restaurant, helpful staff and delicious food! Wish we lived nearer so we could visit again. Very grateful for the staff helping us out by speaking English! Thank you for our delicious pizzas!
Lucy M — Google review
We had a reservation at 20:00 l, so we went there to dine. We were directed upstairs to take place and the lady told us that she would take our order in a few minutes. It was 25 degrees celcius upstairs but we managned to turn on the AC ourself. After 30 minutes they didnt took our order, so we went downstairs to ask. They told us to get at the end of the line to place our order at the counter. We were a bit suprised to hear that so we took our stuff and leave. Wouldnt recommend. Cheers

Vegan restaurant
Family restaurant
Annie's Kitchen, located in the vibrant Gambetta district of Lille, is a beloved family restaurant renowned for its top-notch vegan cuisine. This charming eatery offers a unique twist on traditional French and international dishes, serving up plant-based versions of classics like Blanquette, Carbonade, Ramen, Poutine, and Tartare. The menu changes monthly to introduce new global flavors crafted from fresh and high-quality ingredients.
Great atmosphere and tasty food! I went for a Sunday brunch recently with friends. I was the only vegan and we all loved it! We felt the price was very reasonable for a full brunch: a cold drink with the meal, and a hot drink with 3 portions of dessert. We will be going again asap!
Chelsea W — Google review
Amazing food, with a changing menu. And really nice service. Cute interior. Normal prices (maybe a bit on the "expensive" side) but totally worth it.
Gothimu — Google review
Best vegan restaurant in Lille. The burger was juicy and the cheese was phenomenal. The tartare was super tasty. One small tip: more sauce on the fries would be appreciated!
Sav — Google review
Best (vegan) restaurant in Lille by far. Lovely decor throughout with kid friendly facilities including chairs and changing table. Very friendly and helpful service from lovely waitress who gave us recommendations for other vegan places in lille also. We had 3 main courses and the flan for dessert - all were superb. Very reasonable prices. Flawless.
Cheryl Y — Google review
Super ambience and cozy. 4 minutes walk from Republique. The vegetarian food options are amazing and delicious.

Really tasty vegan food, very friendly staff and dog friendly. Would definitely recommend!!

Had a lovely dinner here - great choice of vegan food, and it was really tasty. Service was friendly and very efficient. This is a popular place, and it's easy to see why! Would recommend this to everyone, even if you haven't tried vegan food before.
Cath D — Google review
Very tasty food, very nice staff, they were very careful with the food of our friend who's gluten intolerant. They have a really good selection of food too. The only downside was the black tea wasn't really good :P.

With its sleek and green design, this 200m2 space offers 45 seats for guests. This self-service restaurant is perfect for a quick lunch break. Such a brilliant concept executed perfectly! All you can eat salad buffet, unlimited refills and bottomless soft serve with toppings station for around €14 !!! I loved this place so much I went twice in my trip. The food is fresh and delicious with so much choice! We need to get this in England!!
Molly B — Google review
Very nice salad bar, with fresh and healthy ingredients. The employees are kind, but in a conservative way. Even though the concept clearly states 1 salad per person, we se saw a lot of people going for a second round. Nobody seemed to be bothered by it, including the staff. The ice cream desert with toppings of your choice is a lovely desert!
Pieter W — Google review
Very lovely and beautiful salad location. Can’t get through town without making a quick stop either for a bite or for a salad sauce restock. I always enjoy my time as I get to eat as I want 😂. Nevertheless, it’s good to mention that the service is good, the place is neat and well organized and the prices aren’t really low but quite fair from a big eater. I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting.
Blaise M — Google review
Only one option (salad/dessert/drink for €14.95) when i didn't want dessert. Very overpriced considering the salads looked like they'd been sitting there a while and weren't being topped up- lettuce was brown at the edges and there were barely any protein available apart from the dregs of chicken & ham. Bread was torn in bits and stale/dry. Not acceptable! It has the potential to be great, but choose your time. I do not recommend for dinner/later in the day.
Kirsty J — Google review
Nice place to have a lunch. Self service. You'll get a 10% discount if you can prove you're a student. Can get quite busy.
Andries B — Google review
I liked the concept so much and their ingredients are fresh and tasty. You can compose your own salad

The restaurant host was very condescending. She lack the ability to talk to customers despite i guess she didn't do i on purpose. Not only to te customers but as well to his own staff.
