Wonderful gallery showing very thoughtful and talented art- properly curated and world class artists. Every time we go we see something new, and deepen our knowledge and curiosity. They also have a great cafe and bookshop. A definite must go if you are in Chichester and worth the trip! Go and go back again and again!

Mother and I visited the Dora Carrington and Patterns exhibition and thoroughly enjoyed it. A wonderful building with modern amenities and a delightful exhibition space - well curated and I learnt a lot about an interesting artist.
Looking forward to visiting again - to explore both the existing collection and subsequent exhibitions.
Pallant House Gallery was fantastic. The natural light really brought out the textures of the artworks and the quiet part of Chichester made the visit even more special. I enjoyed walking through the beautiful streets of Chichester city before and after the gallery. The special exhibition was brilliant and I was so absorbed in everything that I forgot to take pictures. Afterward, we enjoyed tea and cake at the lovely café with the option to sit inside or outside. A wonderful place for families.
A friend recommended this gallery for our visit to Chichester and I'm so glad they did - it's a real find. The building is lovely - part heritage house and part modern extension but they flow into each other seamlessly. The volunteers are friendly and helpful.
The permanent collection of mostly 20th century British art is quite extensive and contains some very important and engaging pieces. We were also fortunate to be able to see the huge temporary exhibition of artists' pictures of other artists (on until November 2nd 2025) which has lots of interesting works.
Fantastic, light and airy building with something to see for everyone. The natural light really made texture and fine detail come to life. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The cafe was exceptional and it was a beautiful day to sit outside in the courtyard. I came to see the Maggi Hambling Nightingale exhibition, breathtaking. The John Piper paintings in the museum collection were such a bonus for me. Also worth saying what an amazing bookshop they had, so many books floor to ceiling.
Excellent mid sized gallery specialising in British 20th-century art, alongside some contemporary work. The permanent collection is displayed in a Georgian townhouse which has a very peaceful atmosphere. I found the staff to be lovely and helpful. Some very strong and recognisable works here.
Part is set in a beautiful early Georgian house, amongst the best in Chichester. It's one of the best places in the UK to see high quality 20th century art. Unfortunately the Georgian hose is virtually empty except for the artwork and so has lost its character on the inside. The £17 entry charge is a bit steep for what there is there unless you have a real interest in the sort of art they have on display
Always nice to visit when in Chichester. Current exhibition is a bit meh aside from the gorgeous stair installation and a bit pricey though

Wonderful gothic style cathedral. Many modern pieces are to be found inside from the last century which allows for a good balance of new and old. Entrance is free but a donation is suggested plus you can also purchase a range of gifts from the Cathedral shop.
Beautiful piece of architecture. It's dog friendly, and entrance is free unless you want to donate towards the cathedral upkeep. Cannot visit Chichester and miss this gem.
I've visited the Cathedral for Choral services over the years, but today I had the opportunity to just wander around at my own pace and actually notice things I hadn't noticed before.
Although not a large Cathedral, Chichester is still impressive. Highlights include historic artwork and tapestries and Marc Chagall's stained glass window. There is a section of flooring showing Roman mosaics.
The bell tower stands separately to the Cathedral, which I think may be unique
The grounds are beautiful and there is a stall with cameras monitoring the progress of the resident falcons and their chicks.

Simply magnificent. The building stands majestically in the centre of the town. Absolutely dominating the landscape. We felt drawn in whilst not being regular church goers this was akin to an evangelical experience. All my senses were heightened and I felt there was a higher spirit guiding me. I came out a changed man and will spend more time doing my charitable volunteering and supporting needy causes.

I’ve been shopping online at Winters Moon for 10+ years now, one day I will visit in person! It started with a vintage bench which Julia reupholstered for us and I’ve since bought many lamps, lampshades, cushions, candles, cards and many other bits. I had a wonderful day at a collage workshop orgainised by the lovely staff at Winter’s Moon. Our tutor Jacqui Mair was just so inspirational, sharing her fabulous sketch books and knowledge. Plus, I got to have an enjoyable browse around the shop afterwards. I would love to book another.
I love this shop. A great selection of gifts, cards and goods. It’s always a struggle to find fresh ideas for decent pressies and cards when you have been buying them for years so Winters Moon has been a real goldmine! Lovely and friendly service and goods arrive beautifully packaged.
I thoroughly enjoyed my class hosted at winter’s moon facilitated by Pete. This also involved a walk to the cathedral gardens so i felt immersed in Spring sunshine and expansive energy.

Popped in to the shop after having followed on Instagram for a while to get a gift for a friend's child. There's a lovely selection of gifts for the young ones I got a lovely cuddly lion. The shop is an absolute treasure trove, such a wonderful shopping experience. I need to come back asap less a toddler so I can browse properly!

Absolute gem in Chichester Town Centre. A wonderful little shopping arcade with some hidden treasures. Well worth a visit.
Such a great place to look for treasures , I have bought revival outfits and lovely vintage and vintage inspired clothes for everyday wear many times and it’s one of my favourite places to go.
My hairdresser Simon has just open up his new saloon here like to wish him all the best and thank him for great hair cut.
Very reasonably priced vintage trains in the toy store and always friendly and helpful. My son loves it here.

Collected my children's pottery from Biscuit pottery and was very impressed with the workshop and surroundings
I went to the Christmas market in the evening. It was lovely. All the artisans are friendly and will stop to chat and explain their work. There's a nice mix of crafts. I shall definitely be going back.
I love grabbing a bite to eat at BBVegan, getting some essential pantry goods from Refilled or just having a browse at all the other beautiful shops on offer here. Such a nice change in pace from the centre of town and feels like my little secret! I hope more people find out though and we can keep Drapers Yard for a long time!
I liked it a lot. Friendly. Lots of different 'shops.' Good hairdresser and delicious bread. There were plants that I would have liked but didn't have the means to carry.
Great place to get food without all the plastic. Purchase what you need so there is no food being wasted and going to landfill. Refill detergent, washing up liquid etc. What's not to like!!!
A charming peaceful area dedicated to quality hand -made crafts . The artisans produce some of their beautiful wares on the premises .
I was particularly impressed by hand - made glass beads which reminded me of Murano .
Found a beautiful shop Wiccawicks and Solsticesoap. Amazing soaps and candles all organic and vegan. My candle smells delicious thank you.

There is a wonderful variation of all books in here.... it is not streamlined to a certain taste, nor age bracket.... So it is excellent for personal taste as well as presents!
I bought my nephew a book token as a birthday present; so this way he can get exactly the right books

A beautiful Waterstones situated in the historic Dolphin Hotel.
I wanted a perticular book, they had plenty of coppies

An Aladdin's Cave for books and book lovers. It has an old school library feel, where you're taken back in time but every book you could be looking for, from classics to contemporary/modern fiction, best sellers and hot new releases. Everything is clearly labelled but you're so spoilt for choice it's almost hard to find what you want.
There's a large children's section as well for families.
I would definitely recommend Waterstones for your next hunt to find a new favourite book.

Staff are rude! Especially the men. Came over and spoke to us for accidentally using the wrong door to the lift and setting the alarm off. The one talking had another bloke walking and standing behind him for backup but never said a word. Why it had taken two men to come over an approach a family is beyond me. He was never polite, even when told sorry it’s not very well sign posted the response we got was “I know but..” then they both walked off.
Got to the tills they are selling energy drinks that are completely thick in dust 🥴 even the lady working behind the till agreed there disgusting

Poor customer service very rude staff, just bought a pair of shoes today as i needed that urgently. Never gonna come back again. Staff must be trained and educated enough to behave with customers from different backgrounds. Entered into the shop with my family and he looked at us so arrogantly, no hello hi, no greetings. Chased him again into the shop for different size and he again behaved very arrogantly.
After politely resquesting some help to find a shoe, a young man asked us to wait for his colleague, witch we did . After a long wait we asked another member of staff to help us with our request. She asks her colleague (who had came and was talking with the boy we had previously asked for help for over 5 minutes) if he could help us. Then the young man started complaining about us and being blatantly rude as we stood right next to him. He had a disgusting attitude, and provided terrible customer service. claiming that we had only been waiting five minutes. thankfully the gentleman that helped us resolve our issue fast with no issues and while being polite. I don’t know in what world you believe it’s okay to talk Crap about your customers as they are right next to you, but it’s not!
Then, as I went downstairs And resolve a problem with some faulty trainers, I lovely Boy Explained that he was able to resolve the issue and called over his superior, Who also had a terrible attitude and was being quite sassy.
Overall, you need to do talk to those staff members who cannot maintain professional approaches while talking To customers, so that those few staff who are polite and have amazing customer service efforts are not wasted.
Large well stocked store, terribly slow service though
I asked up to 2 staff members if they could help me find some shoes and they both sent me to look for another one who was supposedly at the entrance but there was no one there and I was left waiting with the shoes in my hand for someone, finally I left them and left.
Next time make sure there is someone to help where you say if you can't and don't bother the customers.

Imagine I am a secret shopper. Mature female requiring kind assistance and asking very politely for help in finding some options. I asked the tall, dark, broad, bearded young man upstairs and he fobbed me off every time.. on one occasion he asked me to take a seat and he would come over - never did. When face to face with me, he did check if my size was available (hardly at all, another failing) . He made zero effort to assist. I can only assume he is on minimum wage but suspect there’s someone else in Chi who would value that job. Will only shop there again if everywhere else has burned down. I would like an apology

I went on a sewing course at clothes kits and have to say I had a really enjoyable day. The course was really well presented. The lady running it was a great teacher and made it easy to understand what we had to do. The course essentially was how to make a series of seams. Every one of which had a very clear instruction sheet to help understand how to do it and when we had made the sample we stapled the sample to the sheet. Our lady teacher was so helpful and frankly patient. I've come away after having a fun day and I've learnt something that was both useful and enjoyable... Great value and a good day out.
I have purchased many Clothkits kits in the past few years, fabric too. I have also purchased many of the gorgeous embroidery kits from Clothkits. I recently retired and am now sewing nearly everyday. I have always loved sewing, from an early age. I have three children, born in the late 70s and early 80s. Clothkits was my passion for children's clothes. My boys had many of the dungaree designs, the quilted jackets too. When I was expecting my daughter I purchased the baby changing bag kit. I was the envy of my mother and baby group. My daughter, Hannah had many Clothkits dresses, jackets and dungarees. When I found Clothkits again, many these years later, my enjoyment of making up the kits resumed! They really are unique. Fabulous quality. Easy instructions. Everything I need to complete the kit is included too. Long may Clothkits go on! Thank you for the pleasure of sewing your kits.
I have used Clothkits to have mending done to my clothes which I've been unable to do myself as I lack the sewing ability. So they, with their brilliant skills, have saved my favourite clothes from being thrown out as rags. Today I picked up my favourite bubble jacket which had been damaged by a dog jumping up at me and causing rips from it's claws allowing the stuffing to escape. I had tried to cover the rips by glueing patches to the coat with super-glue and for the worst rips on the arm where a stiff unmovable patch wouldn't work, black electrical tape. It's a navy blue jacket so the electrical tape didn't stand out but it obviously wasn't ideal. When I unpacked my mended jacket just now and looked at it, I was expecting to see obvious patches as I said the seamstress could use whatever colour or design patch they wanted to save my jacket from the dustbin, I couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't see the patches at all!!! The expertise of the Seamstress is outstanding and I'm SO grateful that she has done a magnificent job on my beloved jacket. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I am absolutely thrilled to bits and I can't recommend you enough.

I went in today to ask to get three items of clothing hemmed and was met with such an unwelcoming rude dark-curly haired women who just met me with such unfriendliness. And made me feel stupid for immediately not knowing my “lower leg inner hem size” when usually I go to visit Mary she allows me to try on the clothes and I show her where I would like the hem. This women then went onto explain how’s she’s not trained in knowing how to hem things - but then why are you taking clothes for Mary’s ALTERATIONS? Never coming here again such an unpleasant experience and absolutely no service-client respect or friendliness.
Love this shop! Always very friendly and helpful, with good advice patiently dispensed. After one recent visit, I realised I had bought one too few buttons for a jacket I was making as a present. I live quite far away, so they popped two (more good advice, always have a spare button!) in the post that same day so that I could finish the jacket in time. So kind! Fab shop.

Such a lovely, colourful, fun shop with a wide selection of thoughtful and interesting toys (which aren’t landfill in the making). I visited with one of my children today and we were met with wonderful customer service and were actively encouraged to explore what was on offer. Thank you Whirligig, we love our purchases and can’t wait to visit next time we’re in the area.

Great toy shops are extremely rare and this was like winning the lottery!! It has all the fantastic wooden brands that I love but also some that I've not heard of. We bought a wooden version of mastermind which I've played every day several times and also with other campers. The lady in the shop was helpful and very knowledgeable of all products which is great and very helpful. This is the first of many items that I will purchase.

Very feindly and charming small but well stocked antique shop. A great selection of ornaments, glass & ceramics. Very well and fairly priced wares, they only accept cash and don't take card, however that helps keep prices lower, the charming lady who runs the shop is helpful, full of knowledge and very kind.

It has been 20 years but this is a real antiques shop albeit pricey. I found old brass microscopes and also found LAMS member David Hirsch had preceeded me in traveling all the way to beautiful Chichester. I highly recommend this lovely city and if you want to look at genuine antiques, this is the place!
Terrible business. They won’t answer the phone. You go into the store and you’re greeted by miserable staff, so rude, didn’t want to help me find what I was looking for. Luckily I found the wonderful Squirrel Antiques. They staff at Squirrels Antiques are lovely and welcoming, and they answer the phone.
Made to feel unwelcome by an arrogant, ignorant pompous old man, obviously thought I was unaware of the value of my item,it's worth between £90 and £120 and he had the bare face cheek to offer me £15,I'm local and have heard many times that his reputation has been that of a rip off merchant since the 1970s,I would highly recommend taking the time to go elsewhere to an honest, reputable antique dealer that has some respect and appreciation for his customers, overall we were disgusted with his attitude and substandard service

Came in today with my grandaughter. She fell in love with the upside down umbrella. She bought it over to me to show me. The man in the shop took it straight from her and put it back on the shelf he did not say a word to us. We walked out disgusted by his manner. just ordered her one from amazon. If you're looking for a delicious and impressive brunch, then you should definitely check out Crispins. The staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is top notch. However, it can be quite busy so be prepared to wait awhile for your food but it definitely worth the wait!
Crispins Cafe is a great find in Chichester. The freshly cooked is always really good - highly recommend their all day veggie breakfast, their amazing omelettes, their yummy cakes....and beautifully presented coffees.....look at these cappuccinos!

Have been here a few times for various breakfasts and toasties, all is done well.
This place was great! The only downside was that there were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try (such as the pesto mayo chicken pasta with wedges). I ended up going for a classic - the full English (pictured) and it was the best I’ve had since moving to the UK.
I also want to apologise for my blunt mother, with whom we were dining. She was a bit curt in requesting that our table be wiped down. For context, we had sat down without giving the staff a chance to clean up after the people before us and I moved all the cups away so the staff didn’t know the table wasn’t clean.

Chichester seems a generally over priced place. I was pretty shocked to pay £7.50 for an egg mayo sandwich. I expected it would be really good but it was very average.
The woman who brought the food out to us was friendly.

Came in on 16th July, expecting good quality food for the prices id paid. The breakfast was overpriced and really poor quality. The eggs were awful and bacon was almost charred. Staff looked like they didn’t want to be there and wouldn’t go back tbh not worth it
Came in here one morning for a breakfast, can’t recommend it highly enough. The staff were all very friendly, the inside is decorated really and the food was great. We had a big breakfast from the menu with pot of tea and cappuccino with vanilla! Will definitely come back
Lovely cafe! Lots of seating area and a garden space too which is enclosed so just the right temperature most of the time. Service was friendly and quick and the food was amazing! Delicious and hot. Wide variety of dishes from full English, pancakes and eggs benedict. Highly recommend!

This is a privately owned café run by a lovely lady. It’s on the edge of the town Centre and well worth a visit. A little quirky and small can recommend the pancakes and maple syrup. A welcome too for dogs.

A few tables downstairs but plenty of seating upstairs. Each room upstairs have a different theme and it feels very cosy.
They have a breakfast and lunch menu and plenty of cake options, hot drinks and cold non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available.
Located close to the high street and not far from bus and train station. I've had coffee here and lunch several times.
Highly recommend a visit if you haven't been here before.
Went here for a mid afternoon tea and cake with family. The staff are friendly but seemed in somewhat of a hurry for us to get out quickly as it was drawing 3:50 ten minutes before they close. However the cake and other sweet treats are great quality and worth the price (about £4.50 when I came. The eating area is well designed. The stairs to the upstairs area and toilets are steep and the cafe itself isn't accessible. I will come again and would recommend it to friends.
Popped in today on bh just to grab a take away coffee while my lunch was being made @ Apla Souvlaki (see my other review)
Ordered a black coffee while waiting by the till a waitress wanted to come past with plates of food so I moved out of the way and was told "you can stand there" I was out of her way but not standing over anyone sitting.
Anyway had to stand basically over to ladies eating there lunch which felt abit difficult, no apologie from the waitress.
Then when it came to pay for my coffee I was told they only did large for takeaway i didnt ask for large (no sign for this)
Paid £3:50 for the black coffee high price even for chichester.
I thanked the server and left.
I wouldn't call the waitress rude however the "tone" was wrong and I would go else if someone suggested to go there.
Had a nice looking selection of cakes and the coffee was a soild 7 out of 10
This has been one of the best Coffee Shop experiences I have had in a very long time. Fast and friendly service yet I did not feel "hurried along". Such a cosy and welcoming place for a brunch or lunch. The meal was amazing and actually served hot, so was the coffee. And the hot chocolate was AMAZING!
I do recommend this to anyone in Chichester for an outing, be it alone or with friends.

Imagine working in a shop and meeting a customer from another country who had specifically come to the shop you were working in because they had found out, in advance, online, you were the main distributors for the product they had been ordering for years.
Imagine then, questioning their understanding of the product they had been buying for years, to the point of flatly denying that this particular product was even made, despite the fact that the product existed.
Imagine then, reluctantly taking the customer's details, writing these details in a book and informing the customer that you would call them when the product arrived.
Imagine then, not calling the customer.......ever. Well, imagine no more. Welcome to Manuka Wholefoods Chichester!

While staying in Chichester for a couple of months we discovered Manuka and fell in love with the owners- Trea and Grant, the staff and the excellent products they offer. We absolutely loved shopping there and did so on an almost daily basis, enjoying their fresh produce and products. Extremely highly recommended and we hope we get to shop there again.
Love going here ~ staff are always very helpful. Most of all they are very knowledgeable, which is great in helping you buy the right products for your needs, as happened today! I always leave confident rather than wondering if I have bought the right thing!
Very rude staff, I was completely ignored while making my purchase as the lady serving me was talking to another customer who was already being served by the other member of staff. She didn't even make eye contact when I'd paid and I had to check with her that it had all gone through. No thank you or goodbye or acknowledgment at all! I can't find the specific product in another shop but now I'll be ordering online from elsewhere as it's not the first time I've experienced this level of rudeness here.
Been using this shop for years (it's moved twice to different locations in the city). The staff have always been really friendly and the range of stock they have is really impressive.
Their Cafe also has a good range and a decent amount of space, which surprised me. Definitely worth checking out if you've not been before.

Northgate Car Park in Chichester is a convenient parking option located near the Festival Theatre, Oaklands Park, and the town center. It offers sensible-sized spaces and reasonable charges for both daytime and evening parking. Visitors appreciate its central location, making it easy to access nearby attractions such as the cathedral, shops, cafes, and restaurants. Additionally, it is known for accommodating motorhomes and being one of the more reasonably priced car parks in the area.
Very busy but huge. Many spaces available. MER chargers adjacent to the toilet block and very difficult to reach. Only two. Apps said they were available but not so, they were in use.

Plenty of spaces including EV, family and wheelchair access. Public toilet block, easy access to town, sport facilities and Parkrun. Pay and Display, takes contact less and coins or online payments with app. Reasonable prices.
Best place to park when visiting Chichester. Always spaces available and if you park over by the tennis courts no one generally parks next to you. Toilets by entrance and underpass with access to north street and the shops.

It's a car park. It's fine. However, when your parking terminals can't take contactless so I have to pay using your app, it's bloody rude to charge an additional "convenience fee." All councils (sharp) practice this theft for using parking apps (a piss take as they save 000's not having to empty the machines and process the cash) but "convenience," get in the sea.

Comics Games and Coffee Ltd is a haven for comic, graphic novel, and gaming enthusiasts. It also provides space for strategy game groups to meet and play while enjoying a cup of coffee. The staff are described as very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they offer.
There is one great thing about this store and that is Eddie who works here on a Sunday. He is a credit to the store, he works so hard every week not only managing the store but running a very busy Pokemon club all by himself. All the kids who attend love him and he has made the event the success that it is. We visit a lot of gaming stores across the area and we come back week after week due to Eddie's brilliant nature.
He is great with customers and goes out of his way to help.

What a shame. This used to be a great shop. Customer service has since taken a huge dive!
I went in to get a funk pop deluxe as a gift. But I was overcharged by over a 3rd what the average price is online. Not only that it was covered in dust. I haven't a clue how they worked the price out as they would of known the overcharge, had an online check been done. I have a feeling they thought I could be taken for a ride as I didn't fit in. To rub salt in the wound I didn't even get a thank you.
Anyways I didn't question the price, as I knew it was likely to be slightly more when shopping on the highstreet. As I like to support the local shops.
Top tip when shopping at this shop or any shop with no prices on the merchandise, I highly advise checking the prices online before deciding to purchase any items.
I doubt they read the reviews, but I hope they do and improve this place. So I can remove this review and replace it with a positive one.
It was my first time visiting the store, as we are in the area on holiday, and the staff were so friendly and informative on MTG and I felt genuinely welcomed and would definitely go back again! I'll have to book a longer trip and bring some decks to play next time!
Great staff. Friendly and helpful. The comics are (mostly) not bagged and boarded, and as people flick through the (very tightly) packed boxes, the comics pick up little flaws.. not a problem for people just looking to read comics but many collectors are looking for NM condition. Anyway, I'm really grateful there's a shop that sells comics at all. Few and far between these days.
It was very nice there they have a lot of cool comic books but it's not really a place for where you start. The staff were quite kind but then I asked them for help with finding something and he got a bit annoyed. He then started talking a lot and all I wanted was just a comic. Overall it is a nice place there are also cool games there.

We got a sandwich and coffee, retreating to the grounds of the adjacent cathedral to escape the hurley-burley and to rest our feet.

I have been to many bookshops in my time: from the historic greats in London (e.g. Daunt Bond Street) to some charming second hand dealers in Cardiff - but this place is amazing! I enjoy coming to both this and the one in Arundel whenever I can. Although I don't always find the book I'm looking for, I do see one that catches my eye. I like old, second hand books that have been around for a while. It's the smell and browning of the pages that I like.

Fantastic customer care. Many companies could do with coming here to learn how to deal with customers, the people who pay the wages. We walked in to talk about air fryers. The Lakeland shop still has marking on the floor to help with the flow of customers and partitions at tills. I found all the items I was looking for. Unfortunately, my experience of people was the only downside of my visit. A rather large man was standing in the shop doorway, as though sheltering from non-existent rain and waiting for someone. He failed to recognise that visitors to Lakeland struggled to get around him. Secondly, a woman was so keen to get to the other side of the shop that she almost pushed me out of the way. People!

I love the white company and spend a lot of money in this store inparticular. Yesterday, I went in and bought 2 items and produced a discount card that I was sent with a catalogue. A middle aged sales assistant with dyed blonde hair asked me if I was sure that I should have the discount voucher as it was for privileged customers only!!! I informed her that it was mine and I spend a lot in white company. She replied well I can't see how much you spend!!

I go in this shop quite a bit and spend a lot of money, but yesterday was the last time. There is one sales assistant who is just downright rude - she is an older woman with poker straight blonde hair and a tan (not sure how she fits the White Company aesthetic, to be honest). Awful experience in here yesterday. I went in once with my newborn and there was no staff on the til, i went away to another shop as I was not on a rush. When I came back, just awful.
The assistant manager served me; seemed very abrupt and rude. I was making a return and a new purchase. As the total was made I questioned the amount and she assured me she had put the return through so I paid. She also couldn't find me on the system even though I am registered there. I immediately checked my receipt and the return was not put through as well as being overcharged on an item. I said "this is not right" but she walked off - off the till and out of sight into the back of the shop.despite there being a queue. Then had to wait and a very lovely other member of staff jumped on (she told me wasn't her job but was helping), sorted out the return and also found me on the system. I had two children and a newborn baby, what should have been quick to purchase and return took ages and tested all three patience so they were crying/ fed up- my husband was outside with our hungry baby crying. Another staff member was flustered and saying "I can't think straight" . Not impressed at all - I wanted to be in and out, I appreciate errors happen but no excuse for rudeness, especially from.the senior staff.
Took my 91 year old mother in law to shop and was disgusted by the level of service I got! As a business owner myself, my first priority is to make sure my customers have a lovely experience!! This was not the case here! I asked a question to one of the sales ladies who came up to us with no mask on and without keeping her distance. When I asked her to please either wear a mask or keep her distance she was plain rude! My mother in laws first outing since lockdown so it was supposed to be a good experience. When I complained to the lady behind the counter who was wearing a visor, she argued with me and was even rider!! She ended up aggressively dumping the bag of goods on the counter that I had bought !

Appalling customer service by the store assistant manager. I asked my husband to purchase me a dress from the store that was sold out in my size online. Looking after 3 young children I don’t go to town often and he works around the corner from the store. We both receive TWC catalogues and the seasonal discount cards. However as he had my card with him and his one was in my wallet, he was refused the discount as I wasn’t present and the discount has finished 2days ago (we haven’t received the new Summer catalogue with the new card yet). He wasn’t showing on the store database but never was offered to sign up, I guess they were in a rush to close the store so could not be bothered. I have worked in retail in managerial role for many years before and there was no need to be rude and unpleasant.
Not to mention that on occasions that I have visited the store in person the customer service was very poor. Staff won’t say hello or approach unless you chase after them and then often you left with poor service. Very disappointing and will not be shipping in that store again.
Love this place! The clothes and bedding etc are superb quality and look and feel amazing. It's always clean and bright in there too. Have bought many things from here which have lasted so well and I am more than happy to pay a bit more for items that are obviously going to last and look amazing.

I’d give it a 6th star if I could. Let’s start with the people and the story. We stumbled in because Hotel Chocolat was closed and we needed a gift. Joan and Bev led us through stories, banter, background on chocolate, and the story of the owners, Helen and Simon. They helped us personalise the perfect Father’s Day present and wrapped it for us. They helped us understand about the children’s charity they support. They educated us about ethical sourcing, packaging and the family business of Montezumas. And they let us sample some chocolate which was exquisite.
But the winner is the actual chocolate. Outstanding!! Simply beautiful. And matches the wonderful experience of your store.

What a shame I nearly always come in here when I’m in the city working came in today I did not have my wallet with me so only cash. I would’ve spent around £40 they do no longer take cash payments. It’s imperative these businesses realise how much Trade they are losing by doing this

Absolutely loved visiting this shop. The covid measures they have taken to keep their staff and customers safe go beyond public duty. They have taken samples away for the moment as a covid safe measure, obviously no one wants an unnecessary contamination risk, when working with members of the public you can't tell who's touched what or who has washed their hands. They still encourage customers to wear masks in order to keep each other and their staff safe. I don't see an issue with this. The team itself are super friendly and customer service is clearly at the height of everything they do. Will definitely visit again soon.
The Chichester Montezuma's is a fabulous shop. Not only is their selection of vegan chocolate amazing and fabulous, especially their peanut butter truffles, but the staff are as fabulous as the chocolate. They are helpful, friendly and thoughtful. You always have the warmest of welcome and are made to feel special. Five stars aren't enough but that is the most you can give. Even if you are not vegan the choice of chocolate and products is amazing. A must visit shop :).
Prices are going up and up, and up. I suppose that’s the problem with being a long time customer, but I do hope it’s not the fancy new packaging driving up the costs. The buttons are no longer untempered chocolate which is what used to make them so delicious, and good for cooking/hot chocolate too. When I was last in the shop an elderly gentleman was offered the 100% cocoa with hemp seed, that chocolate is an acquired taste and quite dry, and a little bit of warning wouldn’t have gone amiss, no matter how politely he deemed it ‘not quite to his taste’ 😅
Sadly, we went in there and asked if there was any chocolate tasting available, as there was last year. The woman said 'No because not all of our staff are double jabbed'.
What a mind boggling statement. How does chocolate tasting have ANYTHING to do with whether or not someone has been jabbed?
If the 'jab' works at all, surely it's utterly irrelevant who has or hasn't taken it.
This makes us think that behind closed doors, this bizarre woman is coercing her staff to get jabbed, and that I will not support. Will never be going in here again.
Hopefully she comes to her senses, and realises she's helping this draconian insanity stay around for longer.

The girls in the shop were absolutely fantastic, very helpful couldn't do enough. Found the perfect pair tried them on and were really comfortable but told them there was a difference in colour, therefore the boots did not match, the manager/owner's response was that they have been on display, this was spoken in a very blunt way, as if this was my fault. I explained to the girls I had to go to another shop and would be back to buy them. I then found the exact same boots on the makers website (Loake) £60 cheaper. Spoke to the young, helpful girl about the discount and she had to speak to the manager/owner which is completely understandable. At the same time another gentleman saw what I was doing and he was going to do the same thing. I then spoke with the manager/owner who was rude and obnoxious with me and said I was the one being rude and that he had already wasted an hour on my sale (which was not true) and that we should just buy it online as he could no longer be bothered with my custom. At this point, myself and the other gentleman left. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they are searching for low customer service skills exclusively from the manager.

Poor customer service.
Place an order via the website to collect a pair of shoes in store. After I had waited the time frame given on their website and recieved no collection communication I went into the shop to enquire about the order. I was then told that I won't be getting them as it was a 'stock error' .. This is not something you expect to happen and in my eyes poor customer service as I had to chase the order myself and no one bothered to contact me. So who knows if I would have been contacted had it been left any longer?!
I did get a refund however, I don't believe my request of having another pair of shoes for the same price was unreasonable. Which Zigzag declined.
I won't be coming back.

Bought 2 days ago, very disappointed with the quality. The purchased hazelnuts are old and stale, whilst the almonds are half-rotten or yellow. I will never go back again.
I was served one-handedly today by the cashier who was eating a sandwich whilst serving customers.

If only all retail establishments showed that level of customer care we would all be very happy returning customers. Really lovely staff here that went the extra mile, especially the Aussie girl. Only opened recently and nice to see the staff keeping it in good condition. Bought two jumpers and a shirt in the sale and they are superb quality, washed multiple times now and still look new. Will be back thanks!

I visited the store today. (1/12/24) Being very interested in purchasing an overcoat, i visited the store and was greated by a saleswoman who couldnt take the hint that i was just browzing and i would let her know if i needed her help.( telling me about the size and fit of shirts, i wasn't interested in ) I like to look at goods myself & if i like what i see - i'll try it on !!. after being hounded by her while i was still happy by my self and zeroing in on a particular coat. ( the colour and size of MY choice ) i left the store and didn't make the purchase that i had intended !!. moral of the story - some customers havn't got time for pushy sales staff !!. its sad when a bussiness has to employ staff to hound customers and not just let them look at their leisure. next visit, i hope will be less daunting !!.
Popped in here for a new suit for a wedding I had coming up. My old suit didn’t fit me anymore and wasn’t sure what size I was. The lady in there was super helpful, took the time to help advise on fit and choice of colours. Really honest opinions on what suited myself. Didn’t push the most expensive suit. Felt really disappointed this afternoon when I popped into the Chichester Branch. No eye contact, or friendly welcome as my daughter and I entered. I tried on a jumper/poncho but still no response from either of the sale assistance. One was too busy dusting a glass counter the other looked as though she'd swollowed a wasp. Today I had the pleasure of shopping with my mother for a rug and curtains, in the Chichester Dunelm store.
I want to highlight an employee named Richard who made the entire experience extraordinary.
From the moment we met him, he was professional, patient, and exceptionally kind. Richard went above and beyond, showing genuine dedication to helping us find exactly what we needed, even thinking creatively to assist with a tricky colour match.
When we couldn’t find the exact colour of curtains in-store, he didn’t just stop there. Richard thought outside the box, and explained we can order the same curtains online in different shades. Then he headed downstairs to the bedding section and brought back a pillowcase to help us match the colour perfectly to the rug.
He also explained how the rug would look different depending on the light and placement, giving us all the options to prevent any potential returns. The attention to detail he showed was incredible, ensuring we were fully confident in our choices.
Richard processed our order seamlessly on an in-store tablet, making the experience smooth from start to finish. And to our surprise, when we reached the till to buy some additional items, Richard appeared with our curtains, which had already been delivered via click and collect.
His service throughout was impeccable. After spending close to £600, we left with the sense that we had received the best customer service we’ve ever experienced.
Richard is a true asset to the store, and we are grateful for his exceptional service. Thank you, Richard, for making our day, we will be back soon!

What an utter mess.
The whole store is a trip hazard waiting to happen. These images are just a couple of examples.
Trolleys stacked high (as seen in the picture), just waiting to fall on someone. Most shelves were an utter mess. Boxes and crates blocking walkways.

Popped in to buy a few things, the whole store was a mess, stock never seems to change, all very boring! The carpet and rug section was a nightmare, difficult to find anything advertised on-line. But what got my goat was waiting in a queue of people while one cashier was serving a Dunelm employee who seemed to ask for something the lady cashier could not answer, endless conversation on her headset did not help. A couple behind me gave up and put their items on counter and walked out! Finally the lady called for assistance and after another 5 minutes another lady turned up.
There were two Dunelm employees waiting to be served including the one at front who was holding the queue up for 15-20 minutes, and what made that laughable was they both had Dunelm green tops on with logo on back and the words ‘here to help you find ……’

AVOID MADE TO MEASURE CURTAINS at this branch. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. My parents had the misfortune of using Dunelm to make some curtains for their lounge. One set was fine and the other had far too much fabric. They had to visit the store repeated times only to be shunned by the person they placed the order with and told by the Manager there was nothing he could do as curtain measurements were produced by an algorithm! He was sorry! Tried Head Office - no one cares. Emails ignored. No phone number option. Gave plenty of opportunity for a response hence my review - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My parents now have to pay to have the curtains altered. AVOID CHICHESTER DUNELM MADE TO MEASURE CURTAINS - not worth the stress.
It's a dunelm and a rather large one. The only problem is all the inconsiderate zombies walking around in there. Otherwise, if your looking for some cheapish home stuff, it's a good place to shop.
Quite a good shop for bedding and household stuff. It felt a bit stufy as everything is packed in so tightly and the aisles are a bit narrow. Still they do stock an awful lot of good stuff and the café is quite nice.
Dunelm Chichester (Manager on til Saturday 4th Jan). Stopped my 25 year old and me his 60 mother buying sugar soap as my son didn’t look over 25! It is non toxic. I’ve just purchased on line without any worries and she was just being difficult as when I said I’ll buy and you can transfer me she said you should have kept quiet as I now can’t do that!!! She wouldn’t even accept my sons driving license with photo ID on his phone. For her: my son is a lawyer (Associate Director) and what you quoted is incorrect. Check customer rights and get a grip woman. Your customer service skills are appalling, you were obviously having a bad day and you totally went over the top on us trying to buy sugar soap whilst buying paint, brushes and rollers! We were respectable customers and you are in the wrong job!

Went to MS this afternoon in Chichester to have a Bra fitting. Excellent service from Susan, made me feel comfortable after my pre surgery operation, and very helpful and caring. Well done came home with a lovely comfortable new Bra...
I tried to get a security tag removed from a suit I had brought at the hedge end branch. After phoning customer services I was told I could have this done if the labels were intact .One assistant even agreed to remove it for me after showing the bank app and the transaction. Then she returned with a jobs worth called Karen ( ironic 😏) she told me I wasn't able to have the tag removed,she was absolutely horrendous in her handling of the situation and was in no way helpful .My daughters wedding was ruined down to this woman.If you go to this shop avoid this woman.
Typical M&S shop with friendly, knowledgeable staff who typically are helpful.
Accessibility - I use an electric wheelchair and most of the store is easy to navigate with wide aisles and well-positioned counters, etc.
However, the changing rooms are small and you can't close the curtains if you are in a wheelchair - there is a larger changing room which features a folding wall chair, more space, lower hooks and lower mirrors etc, but if this is in use you've no choice but to either strip off in the hallway or not have the option to try on clothes!
The shoe section is a little tight on space and difficult to navigate in a larger wheelchair.
There's no lowered counter/till point.
My wife said this is a particularly nice store..🤷♂️
Went into M&S cafe at lunchtime today and found it to be strangely quiet. Bought two drinks and two cheese toastie thingies and waited and waited...waited.... sipping drinks until they were past cold...... nothing for more than half an hour! Unfortunately didn't get a receipt so couldn't be bothered to argue for a refund on receiving a muted apology at the till. Hindsight should have told me all was not well, given everywhere apart from M&S was packed at 1pm! So wasted some money on food and didn't even enjoy the drinks, by trying to eek them out for so long! Obviously no supervision or management going on here, as they are completely oblivious to the vanishing footfall.
Woman who served me was friendly and helpful... But while I was waiting a member of staff came to the till raging to colleagues that the rail on the changing room had filled up and she only turned her back... And a someone (not me) had left unwanted items on the chair outside the changing rooms... And proceeded to say honestly some customers are grotbags. She's probably right but you don't talk like that in front of customers!
