We picked this place as they had good reviews. I contacted them directly in mid- Jan for a four-day-stay at the end of May. I paid a deposit of Euros 100 and we had numerous email exchanges. We arrived at mid-day on 30 May and we called as nobody was in. The owner/manager told us that she had overbooked and that she could not accommodate us. I received no email to advise us of this, and our deposit was not returned. We had to drive around for two-hours, as this is peak season, most places were fully booked and, in the end, we had to pay double the price for an apartment. I am beyond furious at the incompetency of this B&B and we have a suspicion that we were cancelled, as she could get more money than from my booking in January. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update following her reply: After complaining to her by text and asking for our deposit back, she did apologise, and we were then offered ONLY our original deposit back and she offered to buy us an aperitivo. We have her text as evidence. Now she is claiming she offered us double our deposit, which is not true. Neither did she offer to buy us dinner. Please contact me if you want snips of the conversation. After our adverse posting, she is now making this situation FAR WORSE by blatantly LYING that she offered us twice the deposit back and offered to buy us dinner and has sent us an abusive text. She is incompetent, lacking integrity, this is her holiday business and she should have a handle on the bookings for her few rooms and should have referred to the many emails (and her bank statements re the deposit) that we sent each other. I can confirm that this B&B is situated on a noisy road as we spent some time sitting on the car outside of the B&B tying to find another place to stay. In my 40+ years of booking hotels and B&Bs, this is the first time I have had a booking cancelled, as they were overbooked and then had to face someone lying about the amount of compensation offered, which was merely the return of my deposit.
Lucky888hk — Google review
Arrived at the B&B (no one there) and after contacting by phone told were told we had the wrong date. Then received a text and told there had been a problem with the booking app and reservations had been cancelled. Reminded we had been corresponding by email (outside the app) and was then confirmed we had a booking but they were now overbooked. Initial solution offered was to try and find us alternative accommodation or give us our money back. After walking door to door we found a alternative but due to last minute booking was double the price, I expressed my dissatisfaction and was offered to meet up to receive a free drink and our deposit back (which they had for over 4 months) but considering | was advised that I shouldn't be angry and there is "no need to blame". Just wanted our deposit back. Overall not an experience which I want or expect on holiday from an accommodation supplier.

Amazing location! Short walk from great restaurants and city views. The room was very cozy and offered everything you could possibly need. Would definitely visit and stay at casa Fiore!
Cesar R — Google review
The owner unfortunately puts minimal effort in this place. Said they have free street parking, but there was a residential parking zone, we hardly found a space im the narrow streets. Host very unresponsive. Room not as romantic as in the pictures, there are dozends of candles but no lighter. Breakfast bar was closed, alternative gave us very small and cheap breakfast.
Oliver S — Google review
Super cute studio with a fantastic location, and the host was always ready to help in any possible way, I will go back for sure, soon.
Riad A — Google review
I never had the chance to stay because they cancelled my reservation due to the fact that they accept debit cards , not credit cards. Mine was a debit card with all the money on it, so there was no problem about this. When I asked for a proof that they couldn't withdraw the money from my card, I never got it (although I send them my email address as they asked) and that was it! Very, very disappointed ! My hole trip was relying on that booking!

Bed & breakfast
Dimora Dioniso is a laid-back guesthouse located close to the seashore, offering simply furnished rooms and free Wi-Fi. The property is conveniently situated within walking distance of Grotta Stampagnata and Centro Storico di Polignano a Mare. Guests have praised the excellent welcome and availability of the staff, as well as the clean rooms and wonderful terrace for relaxation. The central location makes it perfect for exploring Polignano and its surroundings on foot.
Very please with the host who was very helpful, kind and a beautiful smile in the morning greeting us with breakfast Enjoyed walking the streets of Poligano A Mare A beautiful place to visit❣️
Terry M — Google review
The Dimora Dioniso is a place to keep well away from. The host is a rude lady who is very abusive and deceiving. The room that we were allocated had no natural light and only had a tiny window high up above the front door. We rang her 24 hours before arrival as per her request but she said that she wasn’t made aware of our telephone call. There is no reception or waiting area located at this establishment. We had to wait in the scorching sun for over 3 hours between 12:00pm and 3:50pm in mid July when temperatures reach 36 degrees C in this area. When she casually arrived she said it was not her fault but blamed it all on Expedia. She claimed she did not have my contact number, but this was a complete lie as my number was clearly on her paperwork. Their website clearly boasts a croissant breakfast, together with orange juice, coffee, milk etc which would be delivered and served between 8:00am and 9:00am. This is another lie as NO Breakfast was ever given, even though we had already paid for it. The room is dark and dingy and I’m guessing that it is only a converted garage/barn. The township of Polignano a mare is a pleasant place to visit but please keep away from Dimora Dioniso as you will be deceived and your stay would be ruined. Have a look at our photos of this place and decide for yourself…. Also please note that this establishment claims to be a hotel. It is definitely not a hotel and their licence is only for a B&B. The host also sarcastically thanked us for reporting the damaged door handle. Please look at the picture posted of the door handle being detached from the rotted wooden door and only supported with two x 16mm wood screws… Poorly maintained….

I'm very satisfied with Dimora Dioniso. Great location, kind staff, nice, clean and well equipped apartment.
Oliver B — Google review
Absolutely terrible experience at Dimora Dioniso — avoid at all costs! This place is a scam disguised as a charming stay in Polignano a Mare. We booked a triple room, which turned out to be more like a dark, musty garage with no windows, damp smell, and zero amenities. It was gloomy, borderline moldy, and completely unfit for guests. They falsely advertise room service and a local breakfast — don’t be fooled. What we got was laughable: three dry crackers, mini Nutella, some jam, no milk, no coffee, no fresh food of any kind. The fridge was barely stocked and not even a bottle of water was offered. Room was never cleaned, towels never changed. Not once. Check-in process? A complete disaster. Despite the listing stating to contact the property 24hrs in advance, we did — with no reply. We called and were told to arrive at 3pm. By 3:50pm, still no one at the property, no reception, nothing. When the host finally showed up, she was rude, blamed Expedia for the mess, and lied about not having our contact number — even though she had our booking in hand. Then came the cash-only demand for city tax- with no receipt provided, which feels highly questionable. The host was dismissive and clearly unbothered about guest experience. Polignano a Mare is absolutely beautiful, but do yourself a favor and do not let Dimora Dioniso ruin your holiday. This place is a complete disaster. Please take a moment to read the responses from the host and decide for yourself what kind of person you’d be dealing with. From our experience, she should not be in the hospitality business—or any business involving people. She was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional from the moment we arrived. No care for guests, no accountability, and zero respect. We don’t expect luxury everywhere, but we do expect basic courtesy and honesty, and this place failed miserably. Stay away —don’t let someone like this ruin your holiday. There are many beautiful places and kind hosts in Polignano a Mare. This is not one of them.

(Translated by Google) Located in the central area a few steps from the sea and the delightful village. We didn't need to use the car. Grazia, the owner, was very kind. He welcomed us as if we were family, providing us with all the useful information for our stay. Very nice and clean room equipped with every comfort. Bathroom with a huge range of hygiene products....never happened. The terrace just for us... wonderful. Good, hot and plentiful breakfast served in the room. It felt like being at home and this means that the work is done well and with passion above all. We will return as soon as possible. Bagno con una vastissima gamma di prodotti per l'igiene....mai successo. La terrazza solo per noi... meravigliosa. Colazione buona, calda e abbondante servita in camera. We arrived on a Sunday, and the historic center was closed, so she came to guide us so we could get there without any problems. It's very well located, so we were able to visit the most important sites on foot. The breakfast was also delicious! We would definitely come back. Hotel Covo dei Saraceni is a refined coastal retreat in Polignano a Mare, offering bright and airy rooms with scenic views of the Adriatic or charming whitewashed buildings. The hotel provides professional service, comfortable accommodations, and secure parking for guests, making it an ideal choice for travelers exploring the area. Guests can enjoy a fabulous breakfast buffet with a wide selection of pastries and fruits while taking in the wonderful outlook from the breakfast room.
The location is excellent. Our room is good size with a balcony with partial sea view. air conditioning works well. Breakfast is good. The staff is very polite

The first sign something was amiss was when I went to take a shower, and there was a clump of hair stuck to the shower stall at eye level. There was also a dead fly on the shower door, and stains left in the toilet by a previous guest. The manager offered to send housekeeping, but obviously could not have been bothered to explain the issue, as housekeeping wiped the bathroom floor and then left (???). Even if the room had been clean, the room was unimpressive and small, especially given the price point. The view was nice. We left for another hotel within an hour.
Michelle C — Google review
This has been the worst hotel stay of my life! Not a single minute of peace. Constant slamming of doors. People above constantly moving furniture. The walls are so thin we can hear the conversation of the people next to us. The shower is filthy. The bathroom smells like sulfur & chlorine. When we asked to leave only one night early after many complaints & zero relaxation so we could stay somewhere else to leave our holiday relaxed, we were told we would not receive a refund for the night we would not stay with the hotel. Flat out said they will not refund for the fault of other guests. So do not stay here as the hotel is not fit for guests whom are on different schedules. I shame myself for not reading the countless bad reviews before booking. BIG regrets and now our anniversary is tainted due to this unfit hotel stay. Also lots of drilling going on very early and other guests making the same complaints but the hotel reception does not care.
Brooke H — Google review
The hotel's common areas are quite nice. The breakfast room offers stunning views of the sea. We even got to enjoy some time at the table on the private terrace. The staff at breakfast were inattentive and distracted. The gentlemen who ran the shuttle to the parking lot and the porters were sweethearts. But our room was small, cramped, and basic. We were thankful for the space of the terrace, but much of the view is obstructed by the tents set up to accommodate the bar and restaurant. And worth noting, the worst shower we've ever encountered. Incredibly small, poorly aimed, and the water flooded the bathroom each time we used it. Overall, it was fine, but we would probably choose a different hotel if we return.
Terese G — Google review
Book this hotel if you don’t want the room you requested, dismissive and rude reception staff that show no empathy. Requested Superior Room in Annex building with balcony and sea view. Got given, ground floor with window that was essentially unusable because it was on a busy public walkway, completely comprising our privacy making the premium price you pay for these extras $1600 AUD (900 euros) wasteful. When questioning the staff, their reasoning was “rooms are picked at random, we have balcony and windows”. The best they could do was offer us an inferior room 2 days later at a lesser value with no partial refund, or an upgrade at an absorbent cost. Would have preferred an apology for their misleading advertising and perhaps a drink at their hotel bar. We checked out early due to a flight, and I’m still waiting on the breakfast to go box that was assured at check-in. I will though commend the location, free parking and tuk-tuk service of this hotel.
Danielle M — Google review
Great location, fantastic staff and really good breakfast but the facilities don't provide anywhere comfortable outside for guests to lounge/relax. You'd have to buy a premium room for this. Great service to & from the parking which was appreciated. It's a fantastic location but there aren't many opportunities to appreciate the views
Deborah H — Google review
Stayed for a couple of nights in 2024 and our experience was very good. We had a suit with a balcony and the views are stunning. Restaurant is good. Breakfast is very good.
Milan N — Google review
We appreciated help from the porters, however the front of desk staff were dismissive and unhelpful proving no information about the hotel or town on check in. The room and utilities were fine, however you would expect more for the price. Location is the selling point.

Calaponte Hotel is a stylish spa hotel offering minimalist rooms, some with balconies, and an outdoor pool. It's conveniently located about 2km from Polignano centro storico, making it easily accessible for guests who want to explore the area. The hotel offers tuktuk transfers for those who prefer not to walk. One of the main attractions in the area is Cala Ponte beach, known for its stunning location between two high rock walls and crystal-clear waters.
Very good hotel, polite staff, amazing rooms, very good bathroom and shower. Even when the card is not on the electricity card input, the air conditioning keeps working to make the room nice and cool for when you arrive, no matter what time. Great pool, lifeguards are very polite. The breakfast is just amazing, a lot of options to go for, fruits, breads, cheeses and many more, and it's really close to the city centre. Highly recommended!
Pedro M — Google review
My experience at this hotel had its ups and downs. The staff, in general, were very unfriendly and cold. The rooms were quite good, although there was a noticeable problem with a musty smell. In the bathroom, especially in the shower and toilet areas, there was a dark stain, probably caused by water leaks. One day, we used the bidet, and to our surprise, everything ended up flooded. We also saw ants, which was very uncomfortable. Despite these problems, I must highlight that the cleaning staff did an excellent job. Every time they cleaned, they left the rooms looking brand new, which is a big plus. The air conditioning also worked very well, which was appreciated on hot days. The hotel's surroundings are very beautiful, with well-maintained gardens, olive trees, and generally an ideal atmosphere for resting. It has two pools, although one of them was closed during our stay, which was a bit disappointing. The experience at the main pool also had its setbacks. The pool attendant, seemingly adhering to the principle of minimum effort, was often on the phone rather than assisting guests. In situations where we needed help, like opening umbrellas, not only did he not allow us to open the one we wanted (located in the spot we preferred due to the sun), but he also didn't offer any help until we explicitly asked for it. On another occasion, he didn't provide the necessary towels, and we had to go fetch them ourselves, which was very inconvenient. He was frequently absent from his post and took a long time to return. The hotel is located in a quiet area, but it's worth noting that it only has one main entrance, and you have to walk quite a bit if you want to reach the beach or the nearest restaurants. There is a back door in the hotel, but it wasn't in good enough condition to be used, which made us have to walk further than necessary. Regarding breakfast, they started clearing it away 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, and they didn't replenish what was running out. I was particularly surprised that basic options like a fried egg or an omelette had an additional cost. On the positive side, the coffee was excellent. There was also a young worker with long, slightly curly black hair who spoke English, which made communication easier, and she was excellent in her service every day we interacted with her. Unfortunately, the staff members are not identified by their names, so I can't say her name. Other waitresses followed the general lack of friendliness that we perceived throughout the hotel. The restaurant has a very nice terrace, perfect for enjoying good weather, but to my surprise, we were not allowed to use it on our last breakfast day, even though the weather conditions were perfect. This was really frustrating, as it takes away one of the main advantages of the place, and the waitress's rudeness in denying us that option was remarkable (note the irony). To top it off, the internet rarely worked during our stay, which was very inconvenient. The lack of friendliness from the staff was what made me focus on the negative aspects the most. I could continue writing about more things, but I think I've captured a general idea of my stay, and I've tried to highlight positive aspects so that, if this review serves any purpose, it reinforces the positive and improves the negative.
Hector M — Google review
Room with pool view is nice, but upon arrival we found hairs in the shower. Breakfast is ok, but limited offering compared to the other 4-star places we visited in Puglia / Italy. Pool next to restaurant is ok, but most umbrella’s are broken down, and not enough beach towels available for the sun beds. No bar service at the pool, only once we had a (extremely friendly) waiter go around to take orders. There is a 2nd pool (adults only) but this doesn’t look well maintained at all and was completely deserted. Hotel location is good, just a few minutes drive away from Polignano. Some of the staff (mainly at breakfast/ terrace) are not friendly at all. I would not recommend this hotel to others, a much better price/quality can be found elsewhere.
Evy B — Google review
The hotel is very well located, ca. 2km far from Polignano centro storico. It's a pleasant walking distance, or you can also travel by tuktuk transfer (10€/2persons/one way). You can ask for it at the hotel reception. The breakfast was OK, and the staff also did everything correctly, however they are not the friendliest. Pool is very good, it was my favourite part of the hotel. The rooms are clean but not very well equipped, I missed e.g. minibar and coffee maschine.
Réka K — Google review
The staff and facility at Calaponte were simply outstanding. Our stay was extremely comfortable as a result of their modern amenities, such as amazing in-suite washroom setup and top-notch pool area, and excellent restaurant. When we decided to extend our stay by one night, they made the process hassle-free by calling the other hotel and informing them of our delay. They were also very gracious to give us late check-out til noon for no charge. The only thing that marred our stay was the poor wifi connection inside our suite. But all in all, a shiny example of excellent hospitality in Italy, and we look forward to returning here in the future.
Jessie Y — Google review
Very helpful staff. Hotel is located about 2,5 km from Polignano a mare, so you can go there to admire a spectacular coast, have a dinner or take a train and travel further. Though location is quite good, but it is better to rent a car in case of bad weather, because there is not much to do, when you can't be near the pool. Nice surrounding, comfortable room cleaned every day. Breakfast every day the same, so do not expect wide variety of food. All in all, I highly recommend to spend calm holiday in Cala Ponte.
Kristi K — Google review
We had a VERY disappointing experience at Cala Ponte. Upon arrival, we found our room with a large oil stain on the bedding, as if someone had just been sitting there. The corners were filled with spider webs and live spiders, with spider poop on the floor. The toilet ring was stained and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and small bugs kept crawling out from various spaces (door, underneath bed, etc). Underneath the bed was also a shocking sight— what looked like years of dust and dirt, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned there in ages. After voicing our concerns, we were told we could only switch rooms the next day, forcing us to spend the night in that unsanitary room. They did try to clean it though, but we still felt uncomfortable because of what we had just seen and the dirt and bugs that were still there. The next day, we were informed we’d received an "upgrade" to a pool view, along with an hour at the spa. Unfortunately, we never utilized the spa because the available slots were during the day while we were out exploring - question is if this was for the better, knowing how not clean the room was? The new room was also not much of an improvement, still had bugs and a significant amount of dust and also trash from previous guests under the bed. There were some stains on the pillows and mattress, and the wooden floor by the shower was rotting, with a small hole already forming. Breakfast was decent but nothing to rave about. Also the pool is very pretty, but slightly dirty on the bottom. Not sure if it was open as we stayed here in October, and that’s the reason to the dirt? On the positive side, parking was safe and convenient, and the location is close to the highway (negative note: you could hear it while sitting outdoors). In summary: the state of the rooms was unacceptable. The owner needs to invest in maintenance and cleanliness, or risk losing all future guests. I cannot recommend this hotel at all.

This is not a 5 star hotel at all it's a 10 star. Incredible experience. Rooms are amazing. Beds to die for. Very comfortable in all ways. Fantastic accommodation, I recommend it to everyone. It is in a very good location, close to the center. The room is very nice and clean, well equipped. The balcony is cozy. I stayed there on my birthday and as a surprise I received balloons and fireworks in the room with breakfast. They were very kind, I am grateful. It was a perfect choice. Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰

Sei Stelle Mama is an elegant guesthouse housed in a 19th-century building, offering well-appointed rooms and a terrace that provides stunning city views. The hotel's compact yet efficiently designed spaces are tastefully decorated with high-quality finishes. Guests can enjoy personalized service from the attentive staff who go above and beyond to assist with organizing excursions and dining experiences.
Stayed here for a weekend and had a great experience. The owner, Antonia, and her staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Breakfast was served right on time each morning, and the rooms were very clean. They are on the smaller side, but that’s expected for a central location — and if you’re in Polignano, chances are you won’t be spending much time indoors anyway. The AC was a lifesaver during the hot days, and the location couldn’t have been better — right in the heart of everything. It’s lively at night, but never too loud to get a good night’s sleep. There is an elevator, but we mostly used the stairs and loved the charm of the hidden side entrance. Highly recommend!
Dzeneta K — Google review
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The welcoming was simply amazing – Antonia, the owner, organized everything perfectly for us and shared some excellent tips that made our trip even better. We truly felt at home. The staff were warm and attentive, the breakfast was excellent, and the location couldn’t be better. Everything was spot on. Well done to the whole team – keep it up! I strongly recommend this place.
Famille C — Google review
They were extremely kind from the moment we walked in their entrance. Antonia (the owner) and the girls working with her had smiles on their faces and made us feel so comfortable to be there. First of all, the place has an awesome smell. They are doing a perfect job keeping the place fresh and clean. The food and drinks were delicious!!! And they are right downstairs from the rooms. Can’t get better than that. Night life is literally downstairs and if you want to hear Italians sing, leave the windows open at night. If not, the windows have great soundproofing. They have their own skin care by the way made out of purple carrots in-house. Amazing!!! We are very happy with our stay there, even though it was short cause we’re touring through Italy. Thank you Antonia and entire Sei Stelle Mama team.

Antonia (the owner), truly made our stay a memorable one. We truly felt like family here. The cappuccinos, the food, the recommendations, were ALL so thoughtful and spot on! The hotel is centrally located to the beach, restaurants, and all the action. It hen, and night, the rooms have excellent black out and sound proof shutters and nice thick mattresses so you can get a good night’s sleep. We left here after few days to explore the southern part of Puglia but my family and I, all missed this hotel so much!

Sei Stelle Mama is a hidden gem of a luxury boutique hotel right in the heart of the old town. Our deluxe room had the most incredible cathedral-like spa bathroom, and views of the square from the bedroom. Antonia, the owner, the staff were lovely and so helpful during our stay. The farm to table breakfast was a highlight as well. Highly recommend for your stay in Polignano a Mare!
Michael G — Google review
Just don’t. Stuff doesn’t speak a word in English. The design rooms are extremely small. The day of the check out they will be kicking you out because other guests are arriving but for extra 100 euros for just one extra hour, those imaginary guests can wait. The hotel is located on the loudest street and people party till 3 in the morning.
Polina K — Google review
Words can’t describe how amazing this hotel is. The rooms, the food, the included breakfast, and the vibe outside of the hotel is a must to experience. The owner is amazing, and super nice. We are coming back to Polignano, and will stay here

We had a lovely time staying here. The hostess was fabulous, service was incredible, located in the heart of the city, and our room was quite beautiful and overlooked the square. Would recommend staying here!

1000% recommend staying here for your stay in Polignano a Mare / Puglia. This place is so centrally located only 10 minute walk to beach and a few minutes away from the promenade. Our hosts were so responsive and made checking in so easy. We had a rental car and were able to park it in their garage for a small fee. We also enjoyed breakfast every morning. Beautiful room and bathroom really loved the vintage they kept while still having modern things like AC. My first time in Italy and I will definitely be back in Polignano a Mare.

Gorgeous apartment, very cool vintage 70s style, extremely clean and good facilities. Vito and Danny were incredible hosts - very welcoming, friendly and happy to help they were brilliant guides to the local area, helping us with restaurant recommendations, train and bus time tables and arranging taxis and trips to the near-by caves. Polignano is a quiet and very pretty town and well worth a stay. The apartment is right next to a supermarket, a few steps from the sea and a few minutes from the old town. Highly recommended. We hired the whole apartment with a group of friends and the added bonus of having breakfast made for us was fantastic!

5 stars across the board. This is such a special gem and so lucky to stay here. The staff went above and beyond and were so knowledgeable of great places to eat and the beach was 5 mins away. They spoke English so well and made it a breeze to utilise our time here. The breakfast is included and was delicious and fresh. Eating on the rooftop over looking the water was a memory in itself. 10 mins away from the amazing lookouts and town. Super friendly host who also leaves basic goods in the kitchen and for breakfast. Really worth repeating! February 2024 I'll update the review! as anticipated, second stay at Villa Rosalba! if possible, even more appreciated spaces, internal and external, furnishings, accessories, location, cleanliness, a tranquility that today is a true luxury...... Everything excellent, including the courtesy and helpfulness of the owners! Until next time...there's no two without three! (Translated by Google) Excellent location, very close to the splendid sea and the center of the wonderful Putignano, in the middle of the flat and sunny Apulian countryside. Absolutely quiet, isolated place but, at the same time, central; the large living room kitchen is equipped with everything except the bread knife, nothing is missing. The rooms are small but clean and welcoming. The house is (in this period) very hot and inside it is necessary to use the air conditioner.  The covered outdoor space, also equipped and spacious, can be used even during the hottest hours; if we want to be picky I would say that the outside lounge and the chairs are not very comfortable. There is enough greenery in the vicinity of the outdoor space, in particular, in front of the entrance, there are some wonderful and very large pepper trees, on the sides a small orchard and ornamental trees of various kinds, including a beautiful garrubo. I would say that it is the right place for those who love the sea and the countryside and if they want to have fun: look around!!
