They have many different choices which is perfect, along with different tastes that aren’t ‘basic.’ I had bought the caramel and Roucher while my mother bought mango and coconut. The moment you taste their ice cream you just know that it’s made from scratch. Amazing place! Lovely people!

Absolutely loved their gelato! We chose dark raw chocolate, pistachio, and Capri in a cup — each flavor was incredibly creamy and packed with flavor. The dark chocolate was rich and intense, the pistachio was smooth and nutty, and Capri was a refreshing surprise.
We also tried the affogato a modo mio with S. Marzano liqueur — such a generous portion and absolutely delicious. A unique twist on the classic affogato that really worked.
Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! We also tried Martinucci Laboratory, but I think Caruso is way better!
I am always coming back here when I am in surroundings, at least for this ice-cream. It is even small word to say fabulous! One of the best ice-creams of my life and I had them a loooooot. Note that there are also sugar and lactose free options (nocciola and pistachio). I am always for lemon and basil and Gorgonzola and blueberries are must try.
Caruso Note d’Eccellenza offers an excellent gelato experience with a wide variety of delicious and satisfying flavors. The atmosphere is charming, and the central location makes it easily accessible. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, adding to the overall experience. Definitely one of the best dessert spots in town.
Definitely one of the best gelatos we’ve had in Italy. The friendly staff offered us a taste test and we both got the Capri, a lemon and milk flavour! The quality of the ice cream is top notch and so is the service. The best!
the second stop on our “polignano food tour”was this gelato shop and apparently i had to try their ice cream. my friends raved about the gorgonzola gelato. one friend even came running to the shop, yes she was that exited. i was just as excited because i love cheese and gorgonzola is one of my favorites.
unfortunately we didn’t see it on display and it turns out they had stopped making it. a shame because i was really curious.
we tried other flavors instead. i got ricotta with chocolate bits (like a cannoli filling) and almond. both were very good and the quality was excellent. the disappointment lingered a little but the delicious gelato quickly made up for it.
Best icecream ! Very tasty and not so sweet. Pistacchio al bronte without milk & sugar is so strong in flavours, wow! Can 100% recommend.
this gelato is something else than all the others, a different level! very creamy and tasty and only 2.5€/cup. try it out, you won't be disappointed! the staff was very welcoming and they brought us glasses of water after finishing the ice-cream. some people really know how to sell! Congrats!

The Super Mago del Gelo Mario Campanella, located at Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi 22 in Polignano a Mare, is renowned for its special coffee. This energizing beverage is made with coffee, sugar, lemon zest, cream, and amaretto. The barista Mario Campanella's name is highly esteemed in the area.
We tried the special coffee (caffè speciale) and it was very nice, very peculiar. It has a lemon zest in the bottom and then they put cream, then the coffee with amorino liqueur with foam. It was very soft to drink, we enjoyed it. It seems like it is characteristics to this gelateria, looks authentic so I definitely recommend :) We paid 5.40 for 2 coffees.
They have a clean bathroom as well.

we came to polignano a mare to eat, apparently. first stop of our “polignano food tour” was this coffee shop. my friends told me i absolutely had to try their “special coffee.” i asked multiple times what it was, but they just said, “you’ll see.”
so i ordered it. we got three, one each, and somehow managed to grab a booth in the middle of the very busy café. clearly this “special coffee” is their thing.
i finally tried it and i have to say, i was surprised. if i remember correctly, it’s made with coffee, whipped cream, amaretto, and lemon juice. sounds weird, right? but the combo actually works. creamy, bitter, sweet, and acidic all at once. hard to describe, but definitely worth trying if you’re ever in the area.

The must visit place in Polignano! Best cappuccino, special coffee and pastry in my life!!! The pastry was full of custard! The croissant with Nutella was so fresh, melted in my mouth. Special coffee is espresso shot with nice cream, amaretto and lemon. So much flavor! Very authentic and nostalgic interior. There are pictures of the owner with different stars whose visited the place (Britney Spears etc).

I read a bunch of positive reviews about this gelato and owner, so I had to try it. The gelato was good, but the owner was a miserable guy who definitely ripped me off for being a tourist. I should have asked for the price before ordering, like I usually do, but I did not and he charged me 4 euros for a tiny cup of gelato. It was ridiculous. Every other fancy gelato shop charges around 3 euros, but somehow this hole in the wall charges 4. Avoid!
Don’t go there! Worst gelato experience in Polignano a Mare. The taste was very average, the cone was small, and it cost €4 more expensive than other gelaterias nearby. You can easily find better and cheaper gelato elsewhere.
This old and historic bar is unlike any other. It's vintage, outside the contemporary canons of always appearing modern and shiny. It's real, no need to show. But when you're in there, it feels like stepping back in time. Very few flavors of ice cream. All incredibly genuine and free of magical ingredients. No supermodel girls greeting you. But only the owner, with whom you can continue to learn that culture that has now fallen into the sand of time.
Rude service, overpriced and not good gelato at all. €4 for a small gelato. Much better options in the area.
Historic and a bit shabby, but in my opinion the best ice cream you can taste.

The fior di latte & ricotta ice cream is a standout, with the option to customize it with various mix-ins like melon, cherry, mint & ginger. The menu also features non-dairy alternatives for coffee and matcha lattes, as well as freshly made crepes and pancakes.
The granita (frozen smoothies on the English menu) are absolutely to die for! So incredibly fresh and tasty, made right in front of you! We particularly loved the mango and passion fruit. The yoghurt gelato was very tasty ( we had it with pistachio). Just a note: They don’t have normal, scoop gelato. They have a great selection of speciality coffees, fresh juices, crepes, drinks and pancakes. I love that their cups are compostable. They have vegan options and use really fresh ingredients.

Absolutely amazing. Paradise for vegans🌱 They have vegan pancake and also many hot drinks - such as chai latte, matcha latte, capuccino etc.all with plant milks. Owner is super nice. Beautiful outside seating and really good prices! Pancake and drink were both very delicious. The pancake was stuffed with a lot of chocolate spread, very generous portion.

SO GREAT - the options available are all so tempting. I visited this place in 2024 and returned 2025 and I’m really delighted it was as delicious! The Turkish Rose yoghurt option so tasty. Excellent choice of ingredients for the ice creams served there. You either choose their predefinied sets or choose your own ingredients from the mentioned ones. Good portions, rich amount of ingredients and staff has no issues communicating in English.
Best ice cream I have had for years. I had the Siciliano with ricotta ice cream we also had the carrott cake and the figs almond and white chocolate. All were very tasty and really different.
A nice small shop serving gelato, juices and some snacks and with a bit of seating inside (2 tables) and out (3-4 tables). A good spot to energize after walking around town. We enjoyed a couple of fresh juices (€5 each) that were delicious. The guys working there were nice but not particularly outgoing so you’ll need to speak up for what you want as they are busy. Menus can be found scattered on the tables or on the left-hand wall next to the door.

We tried this ice cream after we have been in the same in Alberobello, I must say that in Alberobello it was a little bit better (more creamy) but it still was very very tasty! They have many flavors that you can choose from and everything looks very fresh! You won't be disappointed! I took the milk one and macadamia nuts and it was delicious 😋

third stop of our “polignano food tour” was martinucci. i had been craving a pasticciotto for days, especially after having an excellent one from martinucci in bari. i ended up trying two because one simply wasn’t enough. both were very tasty, with a delicate shell and a rich custardy filling. i was a bit sad the black cherry one was sold out, but still left perfectly satisfied

I ordered a cup with one scoop of amarena and one scoop of caffe. They brought me a cup with one scoop of pistachio on the bottom and a scoop of amarena on top. After telling them that I did not order pistacchio, instead of getting me a new cup and two new scoops of icecream, all they did was try to remove the bottom scoop of pistacchio and leave the original top scoop of amarena (now on the bottom), and then put a new scoop of caffe on top, and served it in the same original cup, that was covered in pistacchio. Obviously, there was alot of pistacchio icecream and residue left over (as you can see in the photos) which I did not want or ask for. Why not just give me a new cup with two new scoops of icecream? Very cheap and scamlike.

Great location—right near the local Sunday market, which makes it a perfect stop while you’re out exploring. The ice cream is pretty average, but the atmosphere and setting more than make up for it. Ideal for a relaxed coffee break, especially if you’re in the area already. Worth popping in for a quick rest and refresh.
You have to try the tette delle monache here! This pastry is like an angel food cake filled with chantilly cream. Millennium Cafe is also a nice place to stop if you need a quick cappuccino while exploring.

I highly recommend this place to everyone looking for good gelato and a friendly environment.
We ordered tiramisu but received them dry, hard, and completely lacking in flavor. It was so tough that my friend even broke her plastic spoon trying to eat it. Very disappointing for €5 each!
Absolutely delicious ice cream. Flavours are fresh and home style. Could not get enough of their Sicilian cassata flavour. It’s worthy of another drop in when next in Italy.
Lovely little cafe. Only got in to get out of rain, but it did not disappoint. Ordered affogato, cannolo and pasticciotto which were all great.
Came in for breakfast, ordered tetta dela monaca and a canolo.
The canolo was wet, soggy with ricotta filling flopping through the sides = clearly made at least yesterday, if not the day before.
The tetta's filling was stiff, very grainy and tasteless. The chantilly cream was very obviously old at this point.
I asked the cashier if she has a fresh tetta that we could have instead, but she said it's supposed to be like that and that it might be still a bit frozen inside. The center of the filling was lukewarm to the touch.
I just threw it away and drank the coffee.
I guess it's our fault, the red flag was that the pastry display looked identical this morning and yesterday too. They must've just closed yesterday and opened today without rotating the pastries.
I'm sure that in high season, with the high volume of visitors everything will be fresh cause it keeps selling out, but at the end of September be warned.

Beautiful restyled coffee bar (see my new photos) with comfortable seats and places to stand at the bar. We came there in the morning for breakfast, offered by the B&B in the same street. Friendly staff, delicious coffee and a wide choice of sweets, highly recommended.
Great coffee and even I (salty lover) could appreciate a warm gipffeli with jam...

Great gelato in Polignano. Pistacchio and Chocolato were divine and the “cono” is very good, crunchy and handmade.
Super stylish, i my opinion little taste, much sugar. In profumo something i had lemon sugar pieces instead of lemon pieces. Its just not my idea of and interpretation of itanian ice cream ( we are italians)

We really like these ice creams 👍 we tried pistachio (my fav), lemon and chocolate. We went for the cup but they have different options. You can see small and medium size. The prices were good and the personnel attentive. Just missing a changing station for babies 😅

Nicely made and priced vegan ice cream. The staff is super friendly and very well informed about the product. Their sorbets are delicious and so their creamy ones. Some improvements could be done to make the creamy ones a bit less “buttery”. Otherwise delicious
I had quite possibly the best ice dessert of my life here -at the bare minimum, it's the absolute best coconut gelato.
The funky colours made me so curious I had to make my dad stop at the side of the road so I could go in and investigate
I don't/cant eat cream, so milk or vegan ice desserts are my go to, so when I saw it was vegan gelato I had to get one in my preferred flavour
The absolute intense flavour bomb I got was amazing. Full throttle on the coconut flavour, rich and creamy texture, not too sweet

If you are celiac, or you cannot eat gluten for any reason, this is the best ice cream place you can go. If you can eat gluten, it’s still the best ice cream place you can go.

This is such an impressive ice-cream! Cutting-edge formula that makes ice cream from fermented legumes (no soya, no milk, no eggs) as good as the original recipe! I highly recommend
We loved the vegan icecreams here and are excited to go back again to try some other flavours 😊 there was a big selection and options for cone or tub, whipped cream and wafer. The chocolate and hazelnut were especially tasty!

There was a good range of flavours of ice cream, although nothing unusual or unfamiliar. I can't comment on the coffee or the crepes, but the price for the ice cream was about what I was expecting to pay given the location
The cremina and coffee gelato were both good, but we each tried the pistachio and it tasted like green beans/vegetables – something was seriously off.
Cappuccino to go price is 3 eur, inside - 4 eur (which is not mentioned anywhere). There is no nice view, just the main square. Also, for this price we got an oversized cup lid, its not possible to drink as lid fells down.
Honestly, this ice cream place has such a low rating but it should be really HIGH. We’ve been twice in two days - tonight we had the “La Vita Bella” flavour (it was ricotta, toasted almonds and caramel honey) and tonight we had some fig and ricotta flavour - 10/10. We had 4 ice creams today (we really love ice cream) and this may not be the “oldest” place in Polignano but the ice cream is exceptional. The young brothers in the store are very friendly and charming too! No photos because we ate it so quickly 😂

Lovely place to sit down and have a delicious pastry or drink :) the waiter was really friendly and made sure our order was prepared with care! We ordered the pistachio milkshake and a cappuccino, both which were very tasty and fulfilling. The interior of the place is also decorated very nicely. You could see that the people working there do everything with passion. Would love to come back and try their croissants!

Tiramisu was delicious and it came with espresso aside to add more coffee if you feel the need. I loved that. I tried also the croissant with pistachio and it was very good. They deserve 5 stars.
Pleasant service and atmosphere. They even spoke a bit of English. FYI latte Bianco is just steamed milk hahaha personally the croissant was a bit dry but I think it’s cuz we didn’t get a filling. Brioche was pretty good but a bit sweet for my taste. The cream filling had a bit of a lemon taste, was good.
Probably one of the most underrated places I've been recently. The place is incredibly welcoming, tidy and peaceful; once you get in, it feels you could stay there the whole day (especially if you bring the right company with you). The quality of the coffee was stunning, and I was even more speechless when I saw the final price. It's a hidden gem in Polignano, that's for sure. Can't wait to come back to also try one of their delicious-looking pastries.

Tiramisu was the best in Polignano. The tiramisu comes with extra fresh coffee to put on top so do not recommend buying another coffee. The maritozo with pistachio was amazing also. Highly recommend you try this place if you come to Polignano.
