Beethoven-Haus Bonn is an 18th-century house where the renowned composer Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770. It serves as a museum with exhibits showcasing his manuscripts, last piano, and rare artifacts. Visitors can immerse themselves in the life and work of Beethoven through authentic and impressive displays. The attraction also features a research center with rare recordings, offering insights into the composer's historical and reception contexts.
Well maintained house with a fantastic collection of attefacts that showcase Beethoven's musical journey. The tickets are a bit pricey in my opinion at €14. Go early to avoid waiting in line to buy tickets. I recommend to check it out when visiting Bonn.
Benjamin M — Google review
In the old town of Bonn lies Beethoven's house, now a museum. Across 3 floors, you can find instruments, old manuscripts, paintings, and sculptures, and learn about how he became the legendary composer he is. I found Beethoven-Haus to be slightly underwhelming, as it was not interactive and small—I expected at least a piano to play on. The "special exhibition" was not too special at all, as it only had abstract paintings and a small sculpture. On the bright side, the "music hall" played pieces by Beethoven and offered a place to sit and relax. If you are a fan of his, I recommend visiting. If not, don't waste your time as it will only bore you.
Aidan L — Google review
I just love Beethoven's music and was delighted to visit his place of birth in Bonn and now they have made it into a museum. A wonderful museum dedicated to Beethoven’s life and music. It’s filled with history, original manuscripts, and instruments. Walking through the rooms gives a deep sense of his journey and legacy. A must-visit for music lovers and anyone in Bonn.
Evita H — Google review
Great collection of artefacts, well presented, with a very good app offering plenty of detail. 3 floors, plus a garden. He didn't live here many years but it's the only house left where he did. It's definitely possible to come away with a better understanding of the man. Recommend!
K N — Google review
For me a bit disappointing, the rooms tell the story of Beethoven with exhibits, but I didn't feel a connection with the composer and the house, no every day household objects, like say a room or rooms set out to show that it was a home. The floorboards squeaked loudly as you made your way round, and I hate to say this, but the garden, with the grape vines was the best. Sorry to all you Beethoven enthusiasts
Mick P — Google review
Great place to visit in Bonn. Tour lasts around 50 minutes and you can see real partitures, objects and even personal items from Beethoven.
Rodrigo R — Google review
it was fascinating to step into Beethoven's birthplace. It was an educational trip, amazed on how the house is still well preserved. Dont forget to drop by when you are in Bonn.

Poppelsdorf Palace, an 18th-century architectural gem located in Bonn, is surrounded by beautiful botanical gardens and houses a museum dedicated to mineralogy and petrology. Commissioned by Elector Joseph Clemens of Bavaria, the palace was built between 1715 and 1740 as a grand residence for the prince-electors of Cologne.
OK, you should visit here, the schloss itself is closed to the public (one museum of fossils was open) but the grounds are breathe taking! Enter via a small cafe (try the milchkaffe!) And after stroll around the free gardens; the grounds have a teal mixture of planting and it's all labelled! They have different zones... and then you discover the glass houses !! Superb!!!
Cheryl T — Google review
A wet and windy autumn day...The main building is not open to the public but the grounds and tropical garden are free. Both are pleasant, even in autumn, when all the plants are going to sleep. The adjacent cafe had good coffee and cake.
K N — Google review
Beautiful Schloss! (Only spend time visiting the garden and was only able to admire the outside). Currently the front side is being refurbished and scaffolding is in place, however views from the botanical gardens are stunning!

Historic place surrounded by botanical gardens. A must-visit spot in Bonn
Kayode O — Google review
Not sure if one can visit the castle but the garden is a real beauty and given there is no entrance fee, it is a really nice deal.with the fountains, picnic areas, benches and little ponds
Kharuna R — Google review
Very big , nice park with ponds and glasshouses with lots of vegetation, must see if you like botanical stuff. Free entry and toilets.
Darius D — Google review
No tickets, free. Many thousand plant on the world can find here, close soon before 4.pm

It was under renovation, which killed the whole vibe of showing the palace. Still, it was nice to enjoy a walk through the garden (which is free) since it’s late March and it’s starting to bloom

Schloss Drachenburg is a 19th-century villa that resembles a medieval castle and offers stunning views of the Rhine valley. It was built between 1882 and 1884 by Baron Stephan von Sarter, drawing inspiration from the romantic architecture of medieval castles along the Rhine River. The design incorporates Neo-Gothic, Romanesque, and Renaissance elements.
Beautiful castle, phenomenal views, friendly staff at the ticket office, on the Drachenfelsbahn and at the castle. The castle has been beautifully maintained and is in pristine condition. I particularly loved the stained glass and how each section gave one the opportunity to step back in time, surrounded by so much history. The gardens are also perfectly manicured, lovingly maintained and give one a sense of peace. A truly awesome experience
Nicolette R — Google review
What a gorgeous castle. We stopped in on our way to Cologne. The little train tram was fun. The many stained glass windows were so cool. The little cafe was good, we got tea and coffee and snacks. Views were amazing.
K H — Google review
A truly beautiful castle, high in the mountains, you either need to walk 40 minutes up a steep slope, or buy a ticket for a small train for 10 euros. Entrance to the castle costs 10 euros, you can buy it at the castle itself, you have access to the area around the castle and the castle itself, there are free toilets, places to eat and a restaurant, there are a lot of people. I advise you to carefully review the route in advance.
Sofia M — Google review
Went on a weekend, through the funicular costs 12 euro for adults and 6 euro for kids, better to buy combi tickets if you are visiting with family. The castle 🏰 was maintained well, and entry cost 10 euro for adults and 8 euro for kids. The Rhine river was so beautiful from the castle. A must visit place if you're visiting near colonge and Bonn.
Aravinth — Google review
Truly a beautiful place to visit, the view from atop is stunning and the inside is just as nice as outside. For the price of 10 euro it's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Getting there is a bit harder you can walk what we did but the road is very steep tho doable. there is also a train that goes up a 2 way ticket costs 12 euros (1 way ticktet costs 10)
Collin B — Google review
This was such an amazing place to explore! The history was well described through the placards in German and English, and the app guide added a bit through audio. Lots of notes throughout the rooms, thorough explanations, and incredible views.
Leah D — Google review
It was wonderful holidays in Drachenburg Schloss. A have already visited a lot of castles and palaces in Germany and this one was one the best: amazing views, incredible architecture, beautiful interiors 🤩 The staff here was polite and helpful, thank you so much ☺️ You need approximately 3 hours for this place: to look everything, to walk around and to make photos 📷. ❗️This place, of course, deserves you time to visit it.
Aleksey B — Google review
Beautiful castle. The view of river Rhine from the castle windows and balconies are magnificent. It also has paintings from the Romantic Rhine category. You can also climb up the castle tower. It has a great view. Worth the hype

Nestled within the University of Bonn, the Arithmeum is a captivating modern math museum that takes visitors on a journey through the fascinating history of calculating machines, from ancient tools to contemporary devices. With its slogan highlighting 'mathematics in the olden days and now,' this unique institution offers an impressive insight into both scientific advancements and artistic expression. The architectural design, featuring a striking steel-glass facade, symbolizes transparency in science while enhancing the aesthetic experience.
Awesome and fascinating. Very well displayed, great staff , self explanatory books available in english as well. It is 4 floors, if you are curious to see how arithmatic was done in the past, you will spend a lot of time. A must visit. Not very expensive, 8 euros family ticket, and individual 3 euros
Chayashree P — Google review
The exhibition themed on computing technics from ancient era and early days of mechanical computing machines in modern era before the electronic calculator introduced. Well preserved machines or their replica are interesting for all the ages particularly of the young mind. Ticket cost very little.
Samir N — Google review
The best museum in Bonn! The staff is very friendly and speak English. They can assist you with your luggage putting it in storage. It has the largest collection of arithmometers including schety. The other part is dedicated to the history and technology including mathematical algorithms of making chips. One can easily spend several hours in this museum.
Alexey T — Google review
Perhaps one of the best museums in Germany. No trip to Bonn is complete without a visit to the Arithmeum - so much to tickle your brain with - from interactive lectures on ancient computers to absolutely thrilling historical calculators which, if I had discovered earlier, may have saved me from dropping out of a mathematics degree. Staff were incredibly kind and well-read. Getting around all the exhibitions can be a bit confusing - start from the very top and working your way down the stairs is the best way for getting about it though! I'd recommend spending a few hours here - I was hoping to only spend an hour at most, but ended up spending ~3-4 hours since there was simply so much to do (it's especially interesting for mathematicians/academics). I was hoping to bump into Peter Scholze but unfortunately had no luck. Maybe next time!
Avesta — Google review
A wonderful museum with a valuable collection showing the history of calculating machines — from ancient tools to modern computers. It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re interested in the history of calculation and technology. The staff were all very kind and welcoming — the lady at the reception spoke excellent English, a friendly young man who spoke a bit of Japanese helped me as well, and a kind young woman was with them too. Thanks to their warm hospitality, my visit from Japan was truly worthwhile. I’m very grateful to all of them!
Sudachi-beer — Google review
a small but great museum for science and art lovers. There are many hands-on exhibits for visitors to solve math questions. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. The entree fees is very cheap so definitely go visit if you are in Bonn. There are also enough chairs if you need to take a break.
Chia-chen L — Google review
I've been to many museums and think this is my favorite. I did study math in college, but I truly believe that anyone will love this museum. It shows the history of how people have done calculations (add, subtract multiply and divide) over time. We could start with the abacus and other such devices, then move to instruments that remind me of the old fashioned clocks that have tos f gears in them, ending with machines by Olivetti. Visitors can play with some of these instruments ourselves. The useum is not particularly large, but I could have spent all day there. It was crowd free and a whopping 3 Euros to visit.
Bart N — Google review
Very unique museum displaying thousands of calculating machines! The self-guided tour starts on the top floor with exploration of abacus and other mathematical instruments of ancient times and continues all the way to the ground floor where current technology such as computers and microchips can be found. It is very interactive museum, so visitors can touch, try and play with many of museums items and machines and learn how our ancestors used these instruments to calculate in daily life - that is also a reason why visitors get to wear white gloves at the beginning of the visit so they can freely touch the machines and have truly hand-on experience. All necessary explanations were available next to the exhibits and/or in the English leaflets at the beginning of each section. Some of the calculations on the old machines and cogwheels were not easy to comprehend, therefore you need to be prepared to spend some time at the museum if you want to figure out how it works (we spent over two hours in the museum). There is unfortunately no audio/video guide for visitors to learn from, but the staff is available to explain if needed. At the ground floor that is dedicated to the modern 19th, 20th and 21st century, ''calculator wall'' can be found and many interactive and interesting games to play. The whole museum is also a large art gallery (not by an accident) and many modern types of painting can be admired on the corridors and in the rooms. Very colorful and intriguing indeed - creating a beautiful atmosphere of connection between art and science. The museum was pretty much empty on Sunday afternoon, therefore we had plenty of time to explore all the machines and calculators without waiting. Definitely an amazing place to have fun and learn something new at the same time! One of the most inspiring museums! Entry fee was very cheap, only 3 EUR (cash payments possible only) and we had to lock our backpacks in the locker room (the lockers were however narrow so we had to squeeze our belongings to fit them in). Face masks were still mandatory during our visit in July 2022.

Nestled in Bonn, the Museum Koenig Bonn is a treasure trove for those fascinated by biodiversity and natural history. Established by the renowned zoologist Alexander Koenig, this museum not only showcases an impressive array of exhibits but also serves as a historical landmark where the Parliamentary Council convened in 1948 to draft Germany's Basic Law, marking a pivotal moment in the nation's history.
Very cool Natural History Museum in Bonn city, perfect for kids’ day out . Also very fair ticket price, spacious eating area, washrooms and kids interactive activities. Definitely recommended.
Manjusha B — Google review
Amazing experience. Very immersive and well thought. I recommend coming with time and reading the history of the museum and the animals exposed in there. There’s some sort of “reparation” feeling for the poor animals captured by hunting and some beautiful stories about other animals that were dear to the museum. I loved the experience.
Raabe R — Google review
We arrived early on a Saturday and there was no queue. We paid 12€ for our family of five. Card payment. We had a twin stroller with us which was easy to navigate through the exhibition. There’s also an elevator. Snacks can only be eaten on the ground floor. The exhibition was lovely
Sabina S — Google review
Highly recommend a visit whilst visiting Bonn. €6 each admission so great value for money. Allow 2 hours to get around all the displays. Lots of interactive displays for adults and children. There’s also a cafe and gift shop.

Museum Koenig in Bonn offers a captivating experience for nature lovers and science enthusiasts alike. With its impressive collection of zoological specimens, the museum showcases diverse ecosystems and animal species from around the world. The exhibits are both educational and visually stunning, with interactive displays that engage visitors of all ages. The museum's focus on conservation and research adds a meaningful depth to the experience. Overall, Museum Koenig is a must-visit for anyone interested in the natural world, blending knowledge with awe-inspiring exhibits.

Visiting Museum Koenig in Bonn was a truly enriching experience. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to explore the entire museum if you're going through everything in detail, and every minute is worth it. The exhibits are beautifully curated, and the way they've preserved and displayed the natural habitats and wildlife is impressive. From the African savanna to the rainforest and ocean sections, everything feels immersive and thoughtfully presented. It's a perfect place for nature and animal lovers, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bonn!
Bhumika S — Google review
This natural history museum’s collection started in the 1930s. The building is a must see, staircases and closed wooden doors align the long hallways are beautiful. There’s a small aquarium in the basement. So many interactive exhibits, mostly for children, but my husband really enjoyed the butterfly magnificently glass. The day we visited, between Christmas and New Year’s, meant that the small cafeteria on the second floor was closed. We got a coffee and cookie out of a vending machine near the coat racks. Charming and cheap but the coffee tasted of super sweet chocolate.
Suzanne D — Google review
Inside, this place is amazing. The displays and dioramas are beautiful and informational. Unfortunately, the service was poor. We arrived at 16.45 and purchased our tickets, but at 17.45 we were suddenly rounded up by an irate and very rude security guard who frogmarched us out. I went to the desk and asked why they listed the closing time as 18.00, if we had to leave at 17.45, and he said that after 17.45 you can stay on the ground floor but not be on the upper floor/s. The security guard however had marched us right to the front door, specifically stopping us from remaining on the ground floor. This left a pretty bad taste in our mouths, especially as if they had have mentioned this when we bought our tickets, we could have started on the upper floors instead of on the ground floor. We missed nearly 2 floors worth of the museum, which was very unfortunate as it has a brilliant collection. In short, displays are amazing, take at least 2 hours to see them all, the upper floors close at 17.45 and customer service was bad.

LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn, situated in a modern facility at Colmantstrasse 14-16, is a cultural and natural history museum that offers an extensive look into the heritage of the Rhineland region. The museum's diverse exhibits cover everything from prehistoric artifacts to contemporary art, providing visitors with an immersive experience in art, archaeology, and scientific sciences.
This is a wonderful museum, possibly the best Roman museum in Germany, but BEWARE: 99% of the Roman exhibition area is closed for renovation until 2026. All that was on display today was a handful of items. Apparently, a larger display of Roman archaeological finds is to open 10th April 2025, but it will still be very small in comparison to the 'usual' amount of exhibits (which is staggering). [The 5 stars is for the 'usual' display.]
Ben K — Google review
Nice museum giving you insights into the history and development of the (Rhine-) region. It starts off very architecturally, and later becomes more like an art museum. At the moment they are renovating their part on the Romans, I would wait until they are finished with your visit. Friendly staff.
Floris H — Google review
It's always nice to be back in this well organized museum which I visited a number of times over the years. The museum is already since 1893 in this location but has been extended and modernized through the years. Notable is the glass facade that covers part of the old building and the generous use of wood inside I made a time travel through art when I visited where the old masters were most impressive. When I reached our modern times I realized how much of the old skills were lost. In the basement was a small but interesting exhibition on the Neanderthal .
Seimen B — Google review
Beautiful museum. Love the outside facade, how it's built. The first floor is all about human history, the second floor (first part is under construction), you'll find a lot of religious art and sculptures. The third floor is a temporary exhibition.
Alessandro S — Google review
It was a very good museum to see both ancient artifacts and beautiful paintings. I recommend visiting this museum.
FARNAZ M — Google review
The building and facilities exhibit excellent structural integrity, and the artwork is exceptional.
Savanth P — Google review
Quite an average museum, if you are on a day trip to Bonn there is much nicer museums to see. On the day there was an event with children playing music and singing ... locals seemed to enjoy it but I found it quite disturbing if you're there to see the exhibits.
Alfahad91 — Google review
It's an amazing museum with a really bad website. The most important permanent exhibition is by far the original Neanderthal man, found in 1856 at the Neander valley not far from Bonn. This is an amazing finding, very well displayed and explained on the museum ground floor, extremely interesting. The rest of the floors have some Roman and Middle Ages findings and some Reinessance art, which are all nice, with the upper floor dedicated to temporary modern art exhibitions.

Situated in Bonn's Federal Quarter, this museum offers visitors an immersive journey through Germany's significant contributions to research and innovation.
Wow. This museum was AMAZING. When I first arrived, I was kind of disappointed because everything is in German, and you don’t see English anywhere. But as I went through the museum, not only did I find a few places that were in English, but every staff member was able to explain things in English and they were so helpful. My kids absolutely loved it. We sat through the Robo dog presentation in German and when it was over and they knew we didn’t speak English, they offered to do the whole thing again in English for us! Now, we came on a day that wasn’t very busy so maybe that contributed to all the attention we got. But still, it was amazing. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours, and honestly if I didn’t need lunch, I could’ve easily been there for another hour.

Few exhibits mostly based on emerging AI technology, many interactive screens for young minds, not worth of spending 9€ as an entry fee

An interactive museum, excellent for kids and adults who are into AI and evolution of technology in relation to our environment.
TimeTravelPassion — Google review
A nice, but small museum that has interesting items and explains about technology and science. Most texts are translated in English, but the interactive stuff are in German. Kids wouldn't probably enjoy it, and if you are visiting bonn for a short time, i wouldn't recommend it.

A nice little technology museum focusing on AI and robots. Was fun for everyone, from a software engineer like me to 2 and 3 yo kids.

Ed S — Google review
It is great for kids and for those interested in chemistry and inventions. It was interesting for me also, but I enjoy other museums more
Maracu A — Google review
It's scandalous how little there is to do inside. Literally everything is themed around AI, including questionable uses of said technology that thread the line of copyright law and threatens the livelihood of artists. As a graduated historian, I am shocked. I wanted to see the previous exhibition that apparently has been completely removed. This degree of cultural barbarity, especially coming from an institution like the Deutsches Museum, is very, very shocking to witness. Very disappointing. Give it a big miss, even with children.

Nestled in the charming city of Bonn, the August Macke House is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Opened as a museum in 1991, this former residence and studio of renowned German Expressionist painter August Macke offers an intimate glimpse into his life from 1911 to 1914. The top floor features the only studio he ever had, where he collaborated with notable artists like Klee and Marc.
One of my favourite artist, August Macke. You will learn so many things about his family. By standing in the vivid paintings, you will feel him.
Yifancy — Google review
It is quite small museum. I was expecting a lot more artworks. I was a bit disappointed about it.
Ģirts M — Google review
So much information about August Macke. Such a sad end.
Howard N — Google review
Really fascinating. The historic home is, in my opinion, more interesting than the exhibition space, but that's probably a matter of personal preference. The staff were all very nice.
Jayson G — Google review
Macke was essential part of my primary school education. His art is unique. The newly added building looks wonderful and probably explains an entrance fee of 9,50euros per adult. I could understand that some visitors might expect more. Short video about Macke`s life was insightful. Nice gift shop and small coffee place.
BCN E — Google review
We enjoyed the visit very much. The museum was very informative not only about Macke, but also about the era and the artistic circles of Macke and his time. Friendly staff and also a good temporary contemporary exhibition in relation wit the The Blaue Reiter group. We also admired the small but well maintained colourful. Worthwhile visiting!
Peter F — Google review
Very nice museum located in the old house of the painter August Macke. The museum displays a lot of his work while telling the story of his short life. Currently there is a temporary exhibition of his cousin Helmuth Macke which runs untill the 17th of June 2018. The museum has a nice cafeteria with a very pretty courtyard.

The House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany, or Haus der Geschichte, is a captivating museum located in Bonn that delves into the complex narrative of post-war Germany. Opened shortly after Berlin regained its status as the capital, this museum offers an extensive exploration from World War II's aftermath to Germany's reunification.
The House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn offers a fascinating journey through Germany's post-war history. Its exhibits are thoughtfully curated, covering key moments from the founding of the Federal Republic to modern-day events. The museum’s interactive displays, photographs, and artifacts provide an engaging and insightful look at Germany’s political, social, and cultural evolution. With its accessible layout and diverse media formats, it’s both educational and thought-provoking. A must-visit for history buffs and anyone wanting to understand Germany's development in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Serkan E — Google review
By the time I visited, only the exhibition about second world war was open to visitors, the rest was under construction they said. You can find sections divided generation by generation. Very informative readings, interactive medias and striking photos take you through the near history from that times’ perspective. I love the way the content presented in a very objective. Definitely a museum to visit to grasp a different perspective on that era. I only wish there were more source books also in English as well.
Uğur I — Google review
The exhibition atm is smaller than expected. The upper floors were under construction & the lowest floor was about Roman period. After Hilter exhibition is on the ground floor. Educates you about Germany after WWII and quite informative on historical events that remain relevant to today's unfortunate time. Their cafe is pricey but the museum's admission is free, staff are friendly, and their lounge is perfect for students or remote work - quiet and modern. I would love to come back for the other parts of the museum.

I must see when in Bonn - definitely buy tickets in advance. When we were there, There was low traffic and the museum is currently being re-organised but it is definitely worth it. The café is nice. We had cake and coffee there which was a nice early afternoon / mid afternoon break And lots of history that you just were not really aware of. I must see when in Bonn

The exhibition about the second world war was open to visitors when I visited the museum. It was really interesting to learn more about antisemitism and what people experienced from generation to generation

Bonner Münster is a stunning Gothic church that has stood for over 1,000 years and is a classic landmark in the city of Bonn. Originally built in the 12th century, it boasts a collection of Baroque artwork and houses one of the world's largest organ systems. The basilica, located in Munsterplatz, is not only an architectural marvel but also one of Germany's oldest churches dating back to the 13th century.
I must see when visiting Bonn - lit a candle for family and prayed it is worth going down into the crypt and just a really great church with lots of history. Take time to enjoy it and to look at the hidden corners of history and church life and if you can do a church service, it is also highly recommended. Also enjoy outside at a nearby café and listen to the bells at noon also very worthwhile just to enjoy the full aspects of the church.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Beautiful Piece of History in the Heart of Bonn The Bonner Münster is a truly beautiful old church that immediately captures your attention with its impressive Romanesque architecture and serene presence. One of the oldest churches in Germany, it carries centuries of history within its walls—yet remains a peaceful, contemplative space even in the bustling heart of Bonn. The twin spires and intricate stonework are stunning from the outside, while the interior is equally captivating, with high vaulted ceilings, detailed stained-glass windows, and an atmosphere of quiet reverence. You can feel the weight of history here without it being overwhelming. Even if you’re not religious, it’s worth visiting for the architecture alone. The surrounding square is also charming, making it easy to linger a while and take in the surroundings. 📍 A must-see for architecture lovers, history buffs, or anyone who appreciates tranquil, sacred spaces.

Right in the heart of Bonn, this magnificent church is worth paying a visit. The intricate Romanesque design a fun filled adventure to explore. The church is still utilized to this day. I recommend going early to avoid crowds.

Beautiful and peaceful church right in the heart of Bonn. It’s one of the oldest churches in Germany, and you can really feel the history when you walk inside. The architecture is stunning, especially the Romanesque details. Great quick stop while exploring the city — and it’s super close to the main square.

The Bonner Münster is a beautiful and peaceful place right in the heart of Bonn. With its Romanesque architecture, tall twin towers, and richly decorated interior, it stands as one of the oldest churches in Germany. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or just want a quiet moment away from the city buzz, this church is worth a visit. Entry is free, and there are often classical music rehearsals happening inside, which adds to the magical atmosphere. Don’t forget to walk around the courtyard and admire the sculptures and old stonework!

The Beethoven-Denkmal, situated in Bonn's Munsterplatz, is a significant bronze statue honoring Ludwig van Beethoven, the city's renowned musical figure. Crafted by Ernst Julius Hahnel and revealed in 1845, this monument portrays Beethoven in a reflective stance, symbolizing his lasting impact on classical music. Positioned within Bonn's famed Old Town, the site invites visitors to contemplate Beethoven's legacy while soaking up the vibrant cultural ambiance.
Situated right in the centre of Bonn it is a nice area to reflect on Beethoven his works and his life there in the city of Bond. There’s also a nice café next to this “Denkmal” Statue / monument and worth the walk into the city. We definitely enjoyed Bonn and recommended to Anyone who might stumble upon this post.

A must-see in Bonn! This statue honors the city’s most famous son, Ludwig van Beethoven. It’s right in Münsterplatz, so you’ll likely pass by it anyway — but take a moment to appreciate it. The Beethoven statue in Bonn is a beautifully crafted tribute to one of the greatest composers in history. Located right in the heart of Münsterplatz, it’s surrounded by lovely cafés and historic buildings, making it a perfect spot to pause and reflect. The statue itself is striking—imposing yet dignified—and it captures Beethoven’s intense, thoughtful character wonderfully. It’s especially moving to see it in his birthplace, and there are plenty of informative plaques and nearby sights if you want to dig deeper into his legacy. Great for photos, too! Highly recommended if you're visiting Bonn.

Frankenbad is a unique indoor swimming pool located in the heart of Bonn City Center. While it offers a pleasant swimming experience with friendly staff and perfect water temperature, some visitors have noted that the facilities are outdated and not very clean. Suggestions for improvement include renovating lockers, extending opening hours, and accepting credit card payments. Despite its older design, many appreciate its nostalgic charm and find it to be a great place for sports activities or a refreshing swim before work.
Great place, only indoor swimming pool in Bonn City Center. Don't close, renovate lockers and provide more flexible open hours, especially open more in the evenings - every day. Customers will come and profits will rise. Assume leadership in promoting swimming as a very healthy life-style choice.
Vlad D — Google review
It's really not as bad as i imagined from the other reviews! Some of the locker doors were defective and some of the changing room doors don't lock properly but there were others available. It was pretty clean throughout as well. Showers are warm. Pools are good. Sports pool was pretty busy between 7-8 pm. Multipurpose pool was relatively quiet.
Maria — Google review
Is a bit shabby but the swimming courses for kids are great. Nice coaches, warm water (in the practice pool at least). If i wanted to go swimming with the kids, I'd go somewhere else though.
Jan-Michael M — Google review
Yes, old fashion, very good XX century swimming, changing and showering facilities in the neighborhood, great for a swim before work. For my taste much nicer than modern moloch high tech ones.
Gonzalo S — Google review
So you need to pay 4€ and it is worth it. When you count it as an adventure museum. The changing cabinets are still like they were when it opened in 1963, when they work. The showers reminded me on some old school prison movies. It‘s a mix between „water can come down the wall and please don’t drop the soap“ all in the charm of the '60s the pools are okay, already full at 6:30 but that’s okay. The pool length are both 25m (some info that I need to Google because the staff rated that question „as a very good one“) and the nice pool area with the charming style of the early times of the DDR (I can’t believe that Bonn got the same designers then the Russians especially because it wasn’t an easy time back then) can also be enjoyed from the tribune for the annual sport Events. All in all I would rate it a 9/10 as a museum and a 3 out of 10 as a modern swimming pool I would say. So in the middle I think 3 of 5 stars are a good rate for this one.
Family S — Google review
The installations in general are old and not very clean, some lockers and changing rooms don't work anymore. On the other hand, the swimming pool is in good conditions and at the perfect temperature for training (not too cold, not too warm).
