The Odesa Fine Arts Museum, housed in the elegant Potocki Palace since 1899, showcases an extensive collection of mainly Ukrainian and Russian artworks. The museum features paintings, graphics, sculptures, and decorative art pieces. Visitors can admire valuable iconography from the 16th-18th centuries as well as works by renowned artists such as Aivazovsky, Shishkin, Repin, Levitan, Vrubel and many others.
In the current situation, I understand why you can only see these works. But at least it is open, and I saw works of art and interesting things that made it worth going to the museum. I also thank the kindness of several employees there, who tried to tell me everything they knew, but the language barrier got in the way. But in the end, we made it!

Delightful and compact with a lot of pleasant surprises and really interesting local insights. We managed both floors in about 75 minutes. No queue or crowds. We missed the grotto, so make sure you're there before 13:00 if you would like to visit it
Andrey L — Google review
The museum is nice , entrance tickets are not expensive at all. The only thing I didn’t like was the lighting, I think they have to change to location of the lights. But overall definitely I’d recommend to visit.
Elvira — Google review
The permanent exhibition is in safe storage - Sept 2023. The contemporary art they have in display in an interesting backup
Jeremy K — Google review
Museums is fairly small, but very much recommended to visit. For some reasons one or another floor is closed on some days. During our visit some local plums were provided for tasting.
Darius S — Google review
Good paintings exhibition. You will need 1.5 - 2 hours for watching it. Entrance fee for main exhibitions is reasonable 100 UAH They have discounts for students as well.

OFAM has truly became the avant-garde of the modern museum in Ukraine. It is a place, where you want to come back. And enjoy every minute of your stay there! Awesome!
Hermann P — Google review
Enjoyed seeing many good paintings of both famous and not so famous artists. Some rooms are very beautiful as well while others are very basic. All additional exhibitions are not good. Only main, pre-soviet times exposition is worth time and money.

The Odessa Archaeological Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It houses an impressive collection of regional artifacts, including Scythian gold, early Slavic tools from Kyivska Rus, and Sarmatian swords. The museum also features a gold and silver treasury as well as Egyptian mummies. Visitors can explore the carefully crafted displays showcasing over 170,000 exhibits that offer insights into the rich history of the region.
Went here few years ago, wonderful artifacts, great history, recommend for family and kids wanting to learn some history!
Alejandro P — Google review
Great museum! You can feel "Soviet times" there because nothing changed last 40 years.
Kristian D — Google review
Small, but very good. The museum has a decent collection of it's own, and some nice materials on loan from other museums. It was worth the time and money, and also worth the extra fee to take photos. I will come again sometime.
Grant C — Google review
The Odessa Archaeological Museum is one of the oldest archaeological museums in Ukraine and it was founded in 1825.
Yana D — Google review
Very nice display. However you should be aware that they have some extreme mixing of historical periods. Greek vases in particular. Also many of the vases are displayed only from one side, leaving half of the vases depictions covered. You have to pay extra for pictures.
Scottya A — Google review
The most part of the collection is about neolithic cultures and old greek city-states on the territory of Ukraine. Overall I liked the collection, but the workers who sell the tickets try to cheat: they take the tickets which we have bought, tear them and instead of giving the full ticket, they give back only a half of a ticket. Clearly, the try to sell a half of the tickets twice and put the money in their pocket. So it is interesting to go to the museum, but insist on getting the full ticket back!
Andrii M — Google review
It is a very interesting museum. In it's collection you'll find many historic artifacts. It is one of the oldest museums in Odessa and one of must visit places. Located at the beginning of Pushkinskaya street near Primorskii boulevard. One of the quiet places in the city.
Dmitriy M — Google review
An underrated attraction in Odesa, the archaeological museum is a real treasure. The museums features artifacts from the days when the region was a Greek colony (8th century BC), mummies from Egypt and Scythian finds. The small gold treasury room is impressive. A must visit for any historian of the ancient world.

Located on Pushkinska Street, a short distance from the Opera House in Odessa, the Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art is housed in a charming sky-blue mansion dating back to 1858. Despite its name, the museum primarily showcases art from Western Europe, particularly the Netherlands and Italy. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, porcelain, tapestries, and furniture spanning from the 15th to 20th centuries.
If you appreciate historical architecture and a diverse cultural collection spanning Europe and Asia, this museum is a gem. The palace itself is a work of art—both grand and graceful. Even in the face of wartime damage, the museum remains a vital cultural landmark worthy of support and admiration. Let me know if you'd like a concise version for a travel platform or a more casual style for social media!
Gere M — Google review
Pleasant touch of one day glory, nowadays building requires renovation. Entry costs to the museum with the temporary excibition costs 100 uah.
Nataliia Y — Google review
Not big but nice museum with paintings of european painters. I haven't seen the art pieces of Scandinavian painters before, but here you can see them and they are beautiful! But sadly, many of the museum's halls are in really bad condition. The museum is in great need of restoration.
Victoria Y — Google review
Very cheap and beautiful pictures, the building is a wonderful palace. but no air condition and direct sun light on the pictures. The statues are mostly replicas.
Orna L — Google review
The museum has an interesting collection and for sure worth visiting if you happen to be in Odessa but I think it is not the kind of museum you would make a trip to Odessa to visit it. The bulding of the museum is so old and I think renovations is much needed!
Meshaal ( — Google review
It's small but everything in there is 1500_1600 and there's some real gems and also not so great but authentic pieces. Its well worth the visit.
David C — Google review
Good museum. A lot of pictures from 15 to 20 century (not replicas) from western europe, beautiful interior of 18 century. And I found cool snickers on the picture about ancient Egypt written in 1884
Oleksandr D — Google review
A couple of roads down from the Opera House, on Pushkins’ka Sreet is a compelling art museum in a noble sky-blue mansion from 1858. The museum was founded in 1923 and its art comes from a mix of private collections and pieces assembled by Odessa’s university. The name is a little misleading, as apart from a some porcelain, weapons and pieces of furniture nearly all the art is from western Europe, mainly the Netherlands and Italy. There are paintings by Caravaggio, Rubens, Francesco Guardi, Gerard David and Abraham Bloemart. Maybe the standouts are the two “tronies” of the evangelists St Luke and St Matthew by the Dutch Baroque master Frans Hals

Ukrainian restaurant
Kumanets is a Ukrainian restaurant located in the city center, offering traditional dishes in a quirky eatery with old-fashioned decor and a terrace. The restaurant features a rustic Ukrainian theme with traditional embroidery, colorful shawls, vintage accessories, and even a wood-burning stove decorated with traditional Ukrainian art. The menu includes homemade sausages, black pudding, potato pancakes, herring, salo, red caviar, puff pastries and more.
I'm from Poland🇵🇱, it was the first time I ate such delicious borscht, suffice it to say that I didn't like borscht but this one was wonderful plus warm bread with garlic, amazing. Dumplings, I don't eat them at home either, they were great here. And that fresh, homemade kvass 😋

If you’re looking for traditional food, this is your place. The dishes we had were outstanding, so delicious and fresh.

If you want to experience true local cuisine, then this is the place to be. Entering inside you instantly feel like you have traveled back in time to a seemingly quieter way of life. The service staff was kind and very helpful when explaining the dishes. As the food was placed on our table it was obvious that the culinary team took pride in every plate. The smells, textures, seasonings, and presentation were all a powerful statement of who these people are. They are a proud people with food and hospitality that are unmatched. Very happy I got to experience it.

Highly recommended local Ukrainian restaurant! Local Odesan food but also many dishes and drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) from all over Ukraine, for really reasonable prices, lovely service, and the best traditional decoration and uniforms! Even the music playing was very nice Ukrainian pop music.
Moody ( — Google review
The atmosphere, food, friendly staff, I liked everything very much. Great place for traditional dinner with local dishes. I'm not a great fan of QR-code menu, but this restaurant has one of the better versions. Recommend this a lot!

Waitress was great. Very busy, but took time to help us tourists. Lovely place. Nice trad food. Recommended
John B — Google review
This place has really good authentic Ukrainian food! The place itself is filled with all kinds of Ukrainian traditional items and the staff is dressed in costumes. But, when we tried to order the steak it wasn't good and after getting a new one we were disappointing once again... So I'd recommend only ordering the traditional dishes

Amazing place, delicious food which you enjoy with every bite. Good wine list and location in the center of Odessa. If you want spend enjoyable moments of your life go to this place. Staff helpful, polite, professional and simple nice. This is our favorite place to visit

I visited this restaurant, where to start.. the staff were very friendly, spoke perfect English and very knowledgeable. I started with a coffee while I made my choice. I started with the avocado salad, which was delicious. I followed with the duck, the meat melted in my mouth, the apple and cucumber added to the dish. For dessert I had the chocolate fondant, the center was soft and the caramel mouse and ice cream were amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Richard E — Google review
Food very good, presentation fantastic as was the service. Our congratulations to the restaurant for employing Sergey, a great, enthusiastic advocate happy to converse in Russian and English. Great atmosphere with a pianist playing in the courtyard and if compared to other European restaurants great value for money. I wouldn't go if very hungry however as portions are quite small. Again in comparison to other good restaurants.

Coffee shop
Zheto Espresso bar is a unique coffee shop located beneath the City Garden, offering a cozy and warm ambiance reminiscent of a grandmother's living room. The interior is adorned with knick-knacks from European travels, pre-Soviet posters and books, as well as musical instruments. The low lighting creates a comfortable escape from the bustling city life. The baristas consistently serve top-notch espresso and craft lattes or raf coffees, providing a delightful experience for visitors.
It’s not your average coffee shop. It’s a unique place with a history and antiques inside. Every piece is carefully kept and placed for you to enjoy your coffee ritual by yourself or in the company. Our five year old daughter could not get enough of this place! As well as us. Coffee was great too, btw. Did not check the desserts. Good service.

The best Cafe I have ever visited. Atmosphere, cakes and coffee are very special and so great. 100% pure old Odesa interior design, a lot of nice small things from Odesa former times and nice quiet music make atmosphere so local and romantic. Cakes are the most delicious I have ever experienced. I would recommend to try "Kiev cake" - that is my favorite. You can buy the whole cake or order it in advance - it is very good idea in case you are going to visit your friends. My honest mark is 7 out of 5 :)))))

The Museum of Modern Art of Odesa, affectionately known as MOMA, is housed in a grand imperial doctor's manor and serves as the main venue for the Odesa biennale. The airy gallery showcases a diverse collection of contemporary paintings and art forms, with changing exhibits that often reflect on current events such as the war in the east and political strife. Despite its small size, the museum features works by local artists alongside controversial pieces.

8.8.2021 interesting exhibition in the 1st floor about art and economy in the hardship times of 1919ties,communistic "paradise" and a nice cafe...even if I have not really an understanding for modern art
Stefan W — Google review
Very good modern art museum, I love that grandmother in the second floor, really nice

If you go to Odesa, you'll have to visit this small museum. Right now you'll find the works of local artists on display in addition to some controversial works, all relatively small exhibition. The museum seems to be still in 20th century with a lot of spelling mistakes in the English reading.
Luben A — Google review
Interesting place to check out modern art.
Daria — Google review
We wanted to see some modern art there, but we were not really amazed by it. There’s a main exhibition which was somehow ok about NFT, but not really exciting to see. The museum is pretty small and has not a lot to give for it’s visitors. :(
Szymon K — Google review
Pretty small museum and exhibit, I spent about 30 minutes there.

Aurum Modern Art Center is not just a gallery, but also a place where you can enjoy the finest coffee in Odessa prepared by incredibly pleasant baristas. Visitors are happy to become regulars and appreciate the personal touch of private tours with friendly and polite guides. The center offers an exceptional art experience, allowing visitors to feel like an art piece themselves. Additionally, there are opportunities for rental activities, making it a versatile destination for art enthusiasts.
I had an excellent private tour with Anastasia, very friendly and polite, really personal conversation. I didn't expect that in a gallery. Highly recommended

It's an exceptional art place where you can feel as an art piece by yourself. Nice to have some activity there for rent purposes. Просто потрясающая галерея, приятные люди.

(Translated by Google) I bought two coffees today. It's a pity that I didn't try it right away: I had the impression that the barista was making fun of me. It's not even coffee or a coffee drink, but just hot water with a faint aftertaste of coffee and milk (the second was an Americano with milk). I tried to call and "thank you" but the number indicated is "out of range". Very unfortunate...

(Translated by Google) The comment is not about the art center! There is an Art Coffee coffee shop on the corner of the building. Sold from the street side. The worst Americano I've ever tried. A barely warm, light brown liquid vaguely reminiscent of the taste of coffee. When asked by the barista: “Don’t you think this is watered down coffee?”, the answer: “I always cook like this!”
