Marina
Ninh Kieu Wharf, situated on the bank of Hau River in Can Tho City, is a popular tourist destination known for its picturesque river views and convenient location. The area features flower gardens, floating markets, street food vendors, and a bustling riverbank park and boardwalk. Ninh Kieu Park offers a spacious green space with beautiful ornamental trees and a 7.2m high bronze statue of Uncle Ho.
Coming to the Mekong Delta without stopping at Ninh Kieu wharf would probably be a mistake. The feeling of sailing on the vast river really makes us satisfied. Beautiful scenery, delicious food, and many convenient services available at reasonable prices. Come here and feel it your way. Highly recommended!

Ninh Kieu Wharf, located at 106 Hai Ba Trung Street in Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City, is an iconic riverside destination that captures the essence of the Mekong Delta’s charm. Situated at the confluence of the Hau and Can Tho Rivers, this historic wharf has transformed from a 19th-century port into a vibrant public space. Today, it serves as a cultural and recreational hub, offering visitors a blend of natural beauty and local life. Strolling along the promenade, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the river, watch boats glide by, and experience the lively atmosphere of nearby markets and street vendors. The area is especially enchanting at dawn and dusk, when the sky casts golden hues over the water, creating picturesque scenes ideal for photography. Ninh Kieu Wharf is also a gateway to various river tours, including visits to the renowned Cai Rang Floating Market. These excursions offer a glimpse into the traditional river-based commerce that defines the region. Adding to its appeal, the wharf is home to a statue of President Ho Chi Minh, symbolizing national pride and serving as a focal point for cultural events. The surrounding area boasts a variety of dining options, from street food stalls to floating restaurants, allowing visitors to savor local delicacies like lẩu mắm, bánh xèo, and gỏi cuốn. Open to the public year-round, Ninh Kieu Wharf is a must-visit for those seeking to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and scenic beauty of Can Tho.

It’s a nice walk along the pier but the touts can be relentless and harassing you the moment they recognize you are a tourist/foreigner. Really annoying!

Visited the marina to take a boat on our way to the Cai Rang Floating Market. The place is neat and well maintained, with beautiful gardens, plants and trees, and is a nice place to spend time with a view of the river.

seems to be the centre of the city, surrounded by public park, pier, market, walking street and night market, restaurant,...

Fun place to visit lot's of nice restaurant's and Bar's around. The floating market isn't much existing as I expected. Looks like it doesn't active as it used to be. But anyway you can experience what it's looks like Vietnamese culture
C C — Google review
Touristic site with lots of restaurants, buildings and shops, so not spacious enough for those who like walking. This is also a boat dock to visit the floating markets and the island so many vendors will come to offer the services as you walk by but they are polite, not try to stop or scare you. Totally understand why they have to do this, COVID time and very few guests.

Can Tho Market

Market
Can Tho Market is a charming and bustling marketplace that offers a fascinating collection of food stalls, clothing, and more. During the day, visitors can explore the market's hidden gem - the food carts - before grabbing a beer by the riverside. At night, the market comes alive with magical lights, exuding an ancient charm reminiscent of Hoi An. The Asian architecture with multi-storey tiled roofs and its location by the river make it an attractive destination.
A beautifully unique destination worth visiting The building itself is stunning, with a distinctive colonial river vibe that truly transports you to another era. It’s not just visually impressive—the atmosphere feels rich with history and charm. Inside, you’ll find a variety of new local brands offering creative and original products, which is refreshing compared to the usual market fare. It’s a great way to discover something different and support local talent. The architecture alone makes it worth the visit, but the thoughtful mix of heritage and modern creativity makes the experience even more special.
Tsvyatko K — Google review
Lively place Plenty to look at My teens bought a few souvenirs Not many stalls, but enough for a quick walk around Lots of toy stores Street food, not covered, it was hot, not for my family, Busy Saturday night
Tarah S — Google review
The market is indoors and sheltered nicely from the heat and rain. It is fairly small but quiet and they sell lots of clothing, souvenirs and sundry goods. The view is very nice looking out at the river. It can get stuffy and hot though. Prices were slightly high for postcards but other souvenirs were reasonably priced. Spent about thirty minutes there looking for gifts for my friends- postcards, magnets and some t-shirts.
Natalie T — Google review
The clothes market to me is not interesting but the food market is great. Lots of activity and some great looking food. Great place to buy fruit as there aren't many places in Can Tho that have anywhere near the choice so stock up.
David E — Google review
A small clean market on the Mekong, worth visiting.
Vinay D — Google review
At night, the market becomes bustling and sparkling under magical lights. Visitors will be overwhelmed by the charming ancient beauty that is no less than the ancient town of Hoi An. Asian architecture with multi-storey tiled roofs together with harmonious river water are special highlights that make Tay Do night market an attractive destination.

Can Tho Market, if in the City, do visit that place, it will give you a great insight in the local culture and products. Each visit to Can Tho I visit the Market as I enjoy the vibe there as well as finding items which kind of special in the area and always great quality.

Restaurant
Lúa Nếp Restaurant, located in the Lúa Nếp resort, is an ideal destination for diners who love Vietnamese cuisine and the specialties of the southern region.
If you want real and authentic southern (Mekong delta) Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. Everything was delicious and authentic, without compromising to western taste. Experience the real Vietnam. The staffs were extremely friendly, they held up umbrellas for me going in and out of the restaurant to the car when it was raining Prices were fair and cheap for things on the menu, but beware of extras. We asked for some extra lettuce for the wrap and roll, assuming it’ll be free. It was $4 AUD. That’s wild for a local restaurant.

Very big restaurant and a lot of dishes that you can choose for your favourite. Almost food be delicious, staffs be very support and helpful. Crowded and noisy, but you can feel evething like as country side. I will be back.

Recommend to give this restaurant a try when you visit Can Tho in Vietnam. I love their chicken and fish cooked in stone pot to eat with steam rice. Average cost $15 to $25 aud per person without alcohol.

A delicious garden-style riverside restaurant, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. The space is spacious, airy, and elegant. The dishes are flavorful and well-seasoned, with fast and friendly service truly a lovely experience. ❤️

Proper Vietnamese place with no European tourists but families and lots of tour groups coming in. the main place is like a HUGE Polynesian open sided meeting house. Other places along banks of river. Fans, clean toilets. Good service Liberal use of Google translate (other apps are available) and we had a top meal. Ice cold Tiger beer – we had the tiny shrimp salad with lotus and the yellow flower (din din I think) which was delicious, buffalo with garlic shoots incredible and fried catfish which was a tad dry but delicious with the fish sauce and some egg fried rice. Meal for kings and we loved it – Get involved!!

Nhà hàng Lúa Nếp is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Vietnamese cuisine with a stunning waterfront view. The food here is exceptional, and I highly recommend trying the Bò Lúc Lắc, ribs, and fresh prawns. Each dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The restaurant is conveniently located on the waterfront, making it easily accessible. The atmosphere is pleasant and ideal for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The staff are attentive and provide good service, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable. While the menu offers a variety of dishes, it can be a bit overwhelming for those not familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. I was fortunate to have my Vietnamese wife with me to help navigate the menu, which made the experience much smoother. Therefore, I recommend going with someone who can assist with the menu or asking the staff for recommendations. Overall, Nhà hàng Lúa Nếp is a great place to meet friends and family, enjoy fantastic food, and take in the beautiful waterfront setting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Charming city. Local atmosphere. The park, located in the city center, is nice to relax a bit, although it's not big and the benches are not very comfortable

Located in the center of CT city. By flycam from above you can see the park is designed as a guitar image which is within trees and flowers. There is large square that would be suitable for the meeting, morning gymnastic, workout... and walk around. But it is not so impressive so far

Cai Rang Floating Market

Floating market
Cai Rang Floating Market is a vibrant and bustling marketplace located about 6km from Can Tho City in Vietnam. It is renowned for being the largest floating market in the Mekong Delta, attracting hundreds of boats each day. The market offers a wide variety of agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, fish, and meat, as well as prepared food and drink items like rice noodles and fruit juice.
These days, the market isn’t as crowded or lively as it used to be. Most of it now is set up for tourists to experience local life. A private boat trip costs around 500k vnd. If you want to save money, you can join a shared boat, but usually need to wait until about 7 AM when enough people show up. It’s worth going early to catch the sunrise, the river view in the morning is peaceful and beautiful. Boats on the river sell quick bites like bun mam and hu tieu. You’ll also find boats selling fruit and handmade local crafts, pretty fun to check out! People here live on their boats and do everything from cooking to trading right there, it’s a unique lifestyle of the Mekong Delta. If you’re in Can Tho, this is definitely something you should experience!
Annie P — Google review
After a very early start we travelled by boat to this floating market. Enjoyable boat ride but the market was very underwhelming. More tourist boats than market boats! This tourist attraction may be in decline as the real market activity is increasingly on land.
Michael C — Google review
The photos they post on google and on their adverts are very outdated, so this is like “expectation” vs “reality” We went to the Cai Rang Floating Market to experience their so call “vibrant floating market” hoping we would see the same things as what we saw on google and on the tours advertisements. We took the private boat tour and even went there very early because they said that the market starts at 6am, and it’s better to come early because that is when the floating market are busier but i’ll let you be the judge, I have attached some photos for your reference. Nevertheless, the experience is still cool up to an extent Our tour includes a visit to the Cacao farm (but they ask for entrance fee at the farm whether you are in a tour or just walk-in) And a two more places along the Mekong Delta but it will always depend on your agreement with the tour agents
Shiela — Google review
The floating market was not so special. It was very organized and made only for tourists. The real river markets are probably only deeper inside the country. But the breakfast — Pho soup on the river — was very good. The taste was even better because of the nice atmosphere. Price 2 USD, for the soup.
JB — Google review
Cai Rang Floating Market is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Can Tho. We woke up early to enjoy a pleasant boat ride to the market. Although it now caters more to tourists than serving as a traditional market, it was still enjoyable to see a part of the traditional lifestyle in the Mekong Delta, where people sell food and fruit directly from their boats.
Den L — Google review
Get there whilst you can. Our tour guide said there used to be 15 floating markets, but with the increase of bridges and modern vehicles, there is only 1 left. This market is subsidised by the government yo try and keep it alive. It's certainly an experience worth having a look at.
Jimmy F — Google review
⚠️Don’t waste your money here Nothing about this works. Around the pier, people will try to sell you overpriced tickets, but the truth is: there’s nothing worth seeing. You’ll have to wake up at 4:30 AM because boats are supposed to leave at 5. In reality, we spent an hour sitting at the pier waiting for latecomers. The “tour” then takes you to have “breakfast” at 6:30, where a few small boats approach to sell fruit, then to another stop to buy groceries, then yet another stop to buy miscellaneous goods in a bazaar. It’s a tourist trap from start to finish, with nothing genuinely interesting to see. The guides only speak Vietnamese, so you’ll have no idea what you’re doing or where you are. You’ll be hopping on and off the boat endlessly, like livestock, after waking up in the middle of the night. Completely not worth it.

Located about 6 kilometers from downtown Can Tho, Binh Thuy ancient house is a privately owned residence that was constructed in 1870 by the Duong family and is currently managed by the eighth generation. This French-style house, situated on Bui Huu Nghia street in Binh Thuy ward, features five small rooms and two roofs, showcasing French colonial architecture.
Really worth visiting if you have an interest in history and architecture/design. A gorgeous and peaceful space with a lovely garden.

Binh Thuy Ancient House is a charming example of French colonial architecture, making it a worthwhile visit if you’re interested in historical homes and design. We stopped by during some free time between other sightseeing spots. While it’s not a top priority compared to other attractions, it’s still a pleasant place to explore, especially if you want to relax in the garden and take in the ambiance. One downside is the lack of English information or explanations on-site, so you’ll either need to do some research beforehand or consider joining a guided tour to fully appreciate the history and significance of the house.
Sam S — Google review
The main house and garden are so beautiful. Another parts are not so good design and taking care so it’s look a little bit like a mess. Ticket price is 30000 vnđ for a person
TD G — Google review
Not really worth a visit. An old house, not a museum. A few tables and chairs and some photos of the family. No English language descriptions to help you understand what you’re looking at. Owner collected the money but offered no information. Next door is a painter selling his work. Lowest prices seem to be US$50 for the small paintings. Don’t think he sells many.
Anthony B — Google review
Nice place to see local house and culture. Entry 30k VND, I think it's possible to pay by card. Owner was nice despite what I red in the comments. Pay attention to opening hours, since they close during lunch time.

If you have time to spare We went with a guide that could explain a bit more around the area, history and the overall building and family. Interesting, but unless we had it as a part of our pre-planned tour, I would not bother to visit. Unfortunately. Nothing wrong, just nothing too particular.

Sao Hôm Restaurant is nestled in the historic Nha Long Co area, a renowned site in Can Tho. Its location by the Ninh Kieu riverside offers a charming setting for diners to savor authentic local cuisine. The restaurant's architecture reflects the cultural heritage of the region, creating an inviting space for visitors.
The perfect place to have a delicious lemon juice (50d). Or another fresh juice, or an excellent dinner. Probably the best restaurant in town for the food quality, the localisation and the service. Atmosphere there is really relaxing and you wont be bothered by traffic noise. Meals are around 200 and 300d. Check the pictures to see more 🙂

It’s a tourist trap. If you don’t see any Asians dining, you know it’s not authentic. Don’t get me wrong, the setting is very nice and upscale, the service was attentive, but the food is…neh. It’s generic and unauthentic Vietnamese food. If you were looking for some proper local food from the mekong delta, try somewhere else.

Nice spot situated in Can Tho market, overlooking the water. Service was pleasant, and the fish and vegetables were fresh. Dishes were lightly seasoned and flavoured with a lot of garlic and sweet onions.

As an overseas Vietnamese person, I really liked the food here! My mum (hard to please and is an excellent cook) also enjoyed the food. The rice paper rolls were excellent, a true speciality of this region. The mango fish salad was lovely too, another specialty. The restaurant was also very tidy and clean. A very peaceful setting to enjoy the view as well. The only downside was that the waiter couldn’t explain why they brought out seafood fried rice when we ordered the fried rice with Chinese sausage, egg and pork. It was still cooked well though. Anyway, it was still a great experience and would recommend.
Lyn D — Google review
The food looked okey but already a bit blend. After l tried the seafood stir fry noodles, they were super blend. There was no sauce but there was some watery liquid under the pasta, so the soy sauce l wanted to add didn’t stick to it. The seafood was cold and super chewy. I couldn’t finish it. And also the restaurant was almost completely empty and they messed up my order on the first try

This restaurant was recommended by my bike tour guide and was a great recommendation for our dinner in Can Tho. Amazing location by the river bank next to a boat and atmosphere that is well lit perfect for dinner. Being an open restaurant layout, everything was well maintained and cleaned with helpful staff serving you food. The food that we got was delicious, especially the garlic fried rice which took both my wife and I by surprise on how good yet simple this dish was. Their Mekong style spring rolls was also amazing. The caramel fried banana dessert with a dash of coconut ice cream was perfect to finish our meal off. I would highly recommend this place for large or small groups of travels to consider as you can truly kick back and relax while you dine at this fine restaurant.

We took their privately organised boat and manager/tour guide DAN himself came to pick us up at 05:20 telling us all the details of the floating market, highly recommended! Do not book this Hotel, worst experience we had in whole Vietnam. There are plenty of nice options around but would not book with this one ever again. Seafood Spaghetti and prawn soup are good, the steak is fresh, juicy but very salty. The dessert is under average, as I thought it was just taken out the fridge which was cold and dehydrated. I told the waiter but he had no response on it. The staffs are not well trained. So, this place is not impressive!

I visited Can Tho for 1 month with work. As an English person this place was fantastic. The staff speak English and are so friendly and helpful. The food is great, we kept coming back for breakfast and dinner! I didn’t stay in the hotel but if the service is similar for the food, I’m sure it’s good too!

Nice location , good food, price is okay although a bit higher than average but acceptable considering the environment . The reason I give only 3 star is because the service . I really don’t like they clean the table immediately after you finish the meal . It’s kind of rude like they try to kick you out .

The meat is disappointing. They claim it’s imported, but I seriously doubt it – it’s as tough as shoe leather. If it really is imported, they need a new supplier because the quality is terrible. Paying 400,000 VND for this kind of meat is outrageous. To make matters worse, the chef often mixes up the sides, so what you get isn’t what you ordered. Definitely not worth it – I don’t recommend this place.

Nem Nướng Thanh Vân is a local gem located at 17, Hoa Binh Avenue, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City. It's a popular spot among locals for its delicious and fast food. The specialty here is the Nem Nuong, which is a DIY rice paper roll featuring an abundance of fresh basil, lettuce, pickles, shredded lemongrass, and homemade fragrant pork sausage.
It's frst meal at Can Tho resturant. It was delicious making your own vietnamese roll that would be fun to eat!
Yong K — Google review
Food wasn’t great, although I’d give it an extra half star if the dipping sauce was better. The eggroll looked good but tasted off, perhaps it was vegan? They were generous with the veggies and rice paper. Places in Saigon are way better and I will just indulge when I’m back in town. Not worth 78k as pictured.
Drew — Google review
It is close to Ninh kieu, so it is a house that many foreigners visit. The price is reasonable and the taste is good. It has an old appearance, but I hope it will be partially hygienically modified.

This little dish is delicious. I highly recommend trying it. Take a piece of sausage, each fruit and vegetable, noodles and wrap them in piece of lettuce. Dip it in the sauce. The taste is heavenly.

Absolutely fresh and delish nem nuong (pork sausage) spring rolls! The banana really adds something. Also an assortment of more unusual / delicious drinks and we tried corn milk and winter melon tea (both delicious). Only locals eating here. Packed for dinner

I just had to write a review about Nem Nướng Thanh Vân in Can Tho! I stumbled on this little gem while wandering around the city, and it was an absolute delight. It's definitely not a fancy place – more of a local joint with plastic tables and chairs. But that's part of the charm, you know? You get the feeling you're eating where the real Can Tho folks eat. The star of the show, of course, is the nem nuong (grilled pork sausage). It was incredible! The meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and had this amazing smoky flavor from being grilled over charcoal. They serve it with a whole platter of fresh herbs, rice vermicelli noodles, pickled vegetables, and this incredible dipping sauce. I think it had a hint of peanut butter in it, which sounds weird, but trust me, it worked! One thing to note is that the portions are pretty generous. I ordered one serving and it was plenty for lunch. Maybe even a little too much! But hey, no complaints there. And the price was fantastic – super affordable, especially for the quality of the food. Overall, if you're looking for a no-frills but delicious taste of Can Tho, Nem Nướng Thanh Vân is the spot. Just be prepared for a casual atmosphere and bring your appetite!

Would recommend the bowl with nem nuong vermicelli and bi. Really delicious and tasty. A bit pricey compared to to some other place but the food is great.

Quán Bánh xèo 7 Tới is a popular dining spot in the heart of Can Tho, offering a delightful culinary experience with its signature Vietnamese pancakes. The restaurant provides a cozy ambiance and traditional flavors that embody the warmth of Southern Vietnam hospitality. While this dish can be found throughout Vietnam, the Mekong Delta version stands out for its generous fillings of pork, bean sprouts, and shrimp.
This is the BEST banh xeo I've ever had!!! Sooo different to what I've traditionally eaten and sooo good! The batter is light and crispy, not oily at all...the coconut shoots are soooo tasty. Service was good, they were all very sweet. I wish I'd eaten more!!
Vivien N — Google review
we decided to try this place after seeing some good reviews on YouTube. I am not sure if we were just unlucky ! we ordered 2 banh xeo, both were soft, not crunchy. It appeared that they served us those they already made, instead of making them when we ordered . We also ordered one serve of Banh Khot. It was also very oily,so we left more than half.
David L — Google review
First Banh Xeo I’ve had in Can Tho, recommended by my friend. It was a good meal for 85k. I wished the banh xeo was crispy, but at least the banh khot was. Definitely different with the coconut trunk. Strips of bbq duck would have been awesome but it was ground duck meat instead with occasional bone fragments to pick out. Generous mound of vegetables. I’m glad I tried it but wouldn’t be my go to spot for banh xeo.
Drew — Google review
💛 Quan Banh Xeo 7 toi has excellent bánh khọt . It's the best I've had in Vietnam! It's flavourful, crispy and filled over the top with mung bean and shrimp. Biting into it is fun as well. I prefer it more than their bánh xèo! 🥗 They also provide generous servings of leafy green vegetables. It's the easiest way to get in your fibre intake. The restaurant was smoky when we arrived and the smoke kept us company as we walked out. Service was friendly and getting waitstaff attention is easy, but unsure how it will go with tourists. Other Google reviews suggests it will be ok! 😊

The best sizzling crepes (bánh xèo) in town, in my opinion. My personal favorite is the bánh xèo with coconut core 😉(củ hủ dừa). The mini pancake (bánh khọt) is also an excellent choice. Neither dish is overly oily, and they are served hot with a bountiful assortment of fresh mixed vegetables. Highly recommended - they are absolutely worth the experience.
Thanh ( — Google review
Food was nice, fresh, and clean. Service was attentive as well. Price overall was good. Only 1 small issue, table and chairs was for a smaller stature or kids. Maybe ro increase the amount of guest, I'm not sure.
J C — Google review
Cheap banh xeo, crispy banh khot. Food doesn't taste greasy but my only complaint is the vit xiem (ground duck meat) was grounded with bones in them..so there were a lot of bites that had tiny bone fragments in them. Lots of herbs that tasted good together and I had no idea what half of them were.
Dan V — Google review
The banh xeo was fantastic! The crispy crepe held a delicious filling of savory duck meats and shrimp, while the coconut milk and green beans added a rich depth of flavor. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this dish!

Trúc Lâm Phương Nam Zen Monastery is a vast religious complex in Can Tho, featuring courtyard gardens, ponds, and numerous statues. The monastery boasts a northern Vietnamese architectural style reminiscent of the Red River Delta. Visitors can experience a festive atmosphere during Sunday ceremonies and explore the beautifully designed courtyards adorned with blooming lotus flowers. The site offers a unique blend of oriental atmosphere between the Mekong delta and Red River delta.
Trúc Lâm Phương Nam Zen Monastery is one of the best places in Cần Thơ to pay respect to ancestors, seek blessings for prosperity, and find a moment of peace. This peaceful pagoda and meditation school offers a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation and reflection. The on-site cafe provides a calming space to enjoy refreshments, while the well-maintained restrooms ensure comfort. Beautiful ponds create picturesque settings for photography, making it an ideal spot for both tranquility and memorable moments. Highly recommended for those seeking peace and inspiration.

This is more tourist area than history itself. This place won’t give you the authentic feeling rather just an “Ideal” place to take pictures for social media. They do business inside the monastery like selling lottery tickets and other things. If you want a real feeling of temple, this won’t be a place for you

Truc Lam Phuong Nam monastery is a large complex consisting of several halls, ponds, and courtyards and many statues scattered throughout the entire property. Just inside the entrance is an area for motorbike parking and opposite that is a large display of Quan Am statues (34 in total). Further into the grounds is a large courtyard which leads to an area where there are a display of Arhat statues. On either side of these Arhat statues are garden sections that have a pond in each. These garden pond areas contain several marble statues along with a central building (over the pond) accessible via a connecting bridge. Apart from these main attractions there are several prayer altars and statues throughout the grounds and a few garden areas, plus an octagonal stupa building just off from the main courtyard. Truc Lam Phuong Nam monastery is only a 20-30 minute drive outside of Can Tho, and for those interested in this type of site you could easily send 2 hours exploring and investigating the complex.

Can Tho International Airport

International airport
Can Tho International Airport is best visited between December and February for cool, dry weather. It's clean and spacious with smooth operations, but has limited dining options. The airport is not overcrowded, making it easy for international passengers to navigate. However, some travelers have reported limited food choices and unfriendly security staff. Despite being small, the airport offers reasonably priced amenities and quick check-in processes.
Smaller airport, but that makes it much simpler for everyone. I had a vietjet flight from here and the lady who gave us the boarding pass was extremely helpful. The check-in and security was easy and fast. There is no public transport so you will have to come by taxi (grab), which you can get even in the early morning. There are a couple of cafes as well for you to eat and drink.

Considering the size of airport in this south Vietnamese city, Can Tho airport is clean and modern. Unfortunately there is no direct transportation so you’ll need to come by taxi. Surely it's beautiful nature as a park, but it's so dirty and not maintained at all. Trash is everywhere around the campus (obviously nobody is teaching the students anything to change this behavior) security guards are aggressive and racist, very poor offer to eat anything or even have a decent cup of coffee. Disappointing to see considering it's been running for 60years and it is going backwards in development.

Military Zone 9 Museum, also known as the Army Museum, is a captivating attraction in Can Tho. It showcases Vietnam's military history with exhibits such as tanks, cannons, and wartime aircraft left behind by American soldiers after the Vietnam War. The museum covers the conflicts of the 20th century in the Mekong Delta region through various artifacts and photos displayed over three floors.
Must-see museum in Can Tho where you can learn about Vietnamese resistance to French and American colonial forces. Lots of rooms, photos, exhibits covering different periods of occupation. But get ready to translate some of the descriptions yourself because sadly the longer texts on the walls are all in Vietnamese language, but absolutely crucial info. And it's absolutely free of charge. However, the last two rooms (1975+) were not open for some reason when I visited.

I had a wonderful visit to the Museum in Can Tho. The museum is clean, well-maintained, and filled with valuable historical artifacts that tell the story of the Vietnam War and the people who lived through it. The exhibits are carefully arranged, showcasing weapons, uniforms, photos, and documents that help visitors understand the struggles and sacrifices of soldiers in the Mekong Delta region. I especially enjoyed the outdoor display area with real tanks, aircraft, and artillery — it gives a vivid picture of wartime history. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere felt both educational and respectful. This museum is not only a great place to learn about Vietnam’s military history but also a meaningful reminder of peace and resilience. Overall, it’s a must-visit destination in Can Tho for anyone interested in history and culture.

Nice little museum with a lot of pictures. Most of the explanations are in Vietnamese language only, so you need your mobile to translate. There are a lot of pictures with short explanations even in English, but it’s hard to get the red line through all the shown information. I think a guided tour would be very helpful, but I don’t know is that’s available. The entrance is free.

There are lots of exhibits, photos and artefacts laid out over three floors, many of which have English translations. Unfortunately the top floor (1980s-present) wasn't open today when we visited but what we saw on the other floors was fascinating. Outside the museum there are also some old tanks, helicopters and boats which are really interesting to look at too.

Restaurant
Bánh xèo Mai Vàng in Can Tho is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic Vietnamese pancake experience. This restaurant stands out among others in the area, offering crispy and golden bánh xèo that bursts with local flavors. The menu features traditional recipes made with fresh ingredients, creating a delightful culinary journey for diners.
I like Banh xeo and Banh khot. This place is so great that it is one of the top three restaurants I've ever eaten. Banh xeo is much larger than my hands, and Banh khot has a variety of types and is thick, making it fun to chew. Banh xeo should be eaten with various vegetables, but here, various vegetables are generously given. The sauce was also delicious and had a roof, so it could cover the rain and sunlight. It feels like I'm eating at home by setting up a restaurant next to my family house.

After a local's enthusiastic recommendation, we decided to try this place for dinner and were delighted with our experience. We ordered the duck and coconut pancake and the mixed pancake, each with unique flavors that made every bite memorable. The staff was incredibly welcoming; when they noticed us puzzling over how to eat the pancakes, one of them kindly offered a demonstration, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Once we got the hang of it, we could fully appreciate the layers of flavor and texture that set these pancakes apart. If you're visiting Can Tho, this spot is a must-visit! We learned that pancakes here have a distinctive flair, unlike anything else in Vietnam. The restaurant is clean and offers a safe, friendly atmosphere for visitors. Highly recommended!

Nice space for dinner, taste is good for the price and the service. Bánh xèo and bánh khọt both freshly made with very clean vegetables. Fish sauce is to your possession, spoons and chopsticks are kept in hot water for hygiene, veg are stored in fridge so it kept the crunchiness, staffs are ok. Staffs were nice until I asked for more vegetables then they kinda ignored my request. Otherwise everything worths the money you spend!

We had our lunch here after the completion of our 4 day, 3 nights Mekong bike tour. The food was above average and did its job. The set up is very country like with a modern twist which is very nice. Great location at the corner of the street so you can see all the action of cars, bikes and people walking about. I was very impressed with their tomato soup and this was the highlight of my set menu lunch meal. They have an upstairs dining area too which is great if you're after a bit of peace and quiet.

Great restaurant. Very nice setting and you can eat both inside and out. The food is superb. I had fish wrapped in banana leaf which was perfect. Referring to Nam Bo restaurant, the people in the profession almost know ... if you ask the locals which restaurant for foreigners to eat ..? There are people who share only the Nam Bo, but there are others who do not know. They just said, "I don't know what its name is, but I see quite a lot of foreigners coming there." This is going to be a long review. If you want the short version, here it is: Ambience - Very cozy and comfortable with an old world charm. Service - Excellent and knowledgeable. Food I- Outstanding. Every dish was perfection. So what else is there to say? >>> Deleted 2nd, if you are counting, the signage or lack thereof. Our Grab driver gave up even though it turns out that we were less than 50m away. It was only my persistence, and a call to the restaurant, that got us there. There is a super small high street sign no more than 1ft wide with the name which still says Hell - I think. For yr convenience, Hell is in an alley near the very of lane, on the right. You didn't think it was that close, right? ;-) I should mention the cocktails we had instead of usual wine were very good, albeit somewhat slow. Btw, if you want wine, you are basically out of luck, which i think is something of an error. The focus is firmly on cocktails and spirits. As said, the food was uniformly excellent, and well plated. We had one of the very tasty 'degustation' menus. That was because I was much too hasty and did not notice that they had all those dishes as individual dishes as well on the menus at the back. Silly me, but it did mean we tried some different tasty dishes, but too much for these two not-big eaters, but my wife adored the hand-made chocolates - which we never would have ordered. The salmon was prob the stand-out, although the duck breast was also excellent. and the chocolates of course. :-) Now. The quibbles. 1. The biggest service error was not changing plates AND cutlery after each course - which is standard practice, and especially serving salmon after a heavy creamy pasta dish. This was a point that the waiter seemed to have a problem comprehending to my surprise, given his otherwise excellent service. Now about the menu I selected. 2. The initial garlic bread was ok, but .. not in keeping w the rest of the tasty menu. Just quick & easy. 3. The quite tasty prawn pasta dish was just too creamy and heavy in this long menu. It needs something lighter and, dare I say, more interesting. Otherwise, excellent. 4. Given these are shared dishes, some dishes needed serving spoons eg the duck salad. 5. The table cloths were just inappropriate and dysfunctional, ie, 'not fit for purpose'. And just not simple, functional and elegant - which is what was called for. For a point of difference, plain black, or dark burgundy would work. 6. Although quite tasty, although possibly lacking actual alcohol, the serving glass was totally underwhelming, unlike for example, the glass for my later very tasty classic Sidecar. See photo. 7. Final quibble was actually final: the BILL had additional tax added that was NOT incl in listed price. This a big 'no no'! You simply do NOT do this (unless there is a very clear statement). Restaurants who do this go to Hell. ;-) Note to owner, as a professional in both food & beverage, and marketing, can I suggest a much clearer understandable, and much stronger, more empathetic marketing and brand name change >>> Deleted And bonus ... Attached is 'something I prepared earlier' ;-). Really. Some two years ago for myself. >>> Deleted Addendum. Yet another business owner who thinks they know everything, and cannot be told anything, or learn anything. And was so busy justifying that that he (bound to be 'he' because men are so much more arrogant and entitled) simply ignored my other specific comments, criticisms and suggestions. And "hidden" so well that we almost went elsewhere. I wonder how many other potential customers did precisely that?

The bartender gave me a short form up front for me to fill in an overview of my preferences. He then set out to create a wonderful drink based on my notes. Reasonable price. Nice snacks. Thematic. The staffs wear nice suits haha. The atmosphere here’s suitable for date nights 🍸. Will go back to try some main course dishes 👌

Chùa Ông, also known as the Guang Zhao Assembly Hall, is a beautifully adorned Chinese Taoist temple that was constructed in the late 19th century by Cantonese immigrants. Located facing the Can Tho River, this temple is housed within the Guangzhou Assembly Hall and features large incense coils that burn continuously, filling its interior with fragrant smoke. The temple was originally built to honor Kuang Kung, a deity representing various virtues.
Also known as Ong Temple, a beautiful place is worship, calm and serene. This remarkable historical site, with its enduring Chinese architecture, is a hidden gem in the heart of Can Tho. A unique and well-preserved Chinese architectural style, The colorful gateway, intricate carvings, and traditional motifs showcased the rich cultural heritage of this place. A blend of Chinese and Vietnamese architectural influences, which added to its charm. I highly recommend a visit for anyone seeking a serene and culturally enriching experience. It's a place where history and spirituality come together, creating a truly memorable atmosphere. The shrine is called “Guang Zhao Assembly Hall” built in the late 1800’s by Cantonese immigrants from mainly Guang Zhou and Zhao Qing cities, Guang Dong, China. The shrine is dedicated to Taoist polytheism which Mazu, Jade emperor, and Guan Yu are three of them. The building is petite but nicely decorated with carved details taken from Chinese mythology (e.g., eight immortals crossing the sea). The shrine is extremely busy on full moon festivals and new year days.

Munirensay Khmer Buddhist Temple, originally constructed in the 1940s to cater to Can Thos Khmer community, showcases typical Khmer Buddhist pagoda architecture. While not as elaborate as other city temples, it offers a charming experience with monks relaxing in the doorways and vibrant banners adorning the surroundings. Visitors are greeted by friendly domesticated animals and can take a break on cement benches inside the gate.
This Khmer pagoda sits right on Can Tho’s main street, and I’m a big fan of its unique architecture. In the evening, there’s a food stall inside selling bánh bột chiên and dessert—so tasty! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Binh Thuy Temple is a beautifully ornate Buddhist temple dating back to the mid-19th century, known for hosting vibrant festivals in January and May. The temple's festival is one of the most renowned traditional events in Can Tho City, drawing visitors from near and far. The temple itself is a well-preserved representation of the Mekong Delta's specific architectural style from bygone eras.

Binh Thuy temple was built in 1844 to worship the tutelary of Binh Hung village. According to legend, in 1852, the province chief mandarin Huynh Man Dat suddenly caught a squall on his inspection across Hau river. His boat was safely hidden in Binh Hung canal. After that, he named the village Binh Thuy. When coming back to the court, he submitted a memorial to King Tu Duc and the village paid honour to the king by calling him “Bổn Cảnh Thành Hoàng” (tutelary god of the charming village) and wanted to rebuild the pagoda. Annually, the temple has two main festivals: Thượng Điền and Hạ Điền (sacrifice-dedicated ceremonies to the God of earth at the beginning of farm work) in the fourth month and the twelfth month in lunar year. This place was recognized as national architectural art relic in 1989.

Mekong 1965 is a renowned restaurant in Can Tho, Vietnam, offering an authentic family-style culinary experience. Since its establishment in 1965, this family-run business has been serving delectable home-cooked Southern Vietnamese dishes that have been passed down through generations. It has become a beloved gem in Can Tho's culinary scene, attracting both locals and tourists seeking to savor the rich flavors of traditional local cuisine.
Some of the best food we have had in Vietnam. Nice and spicy. Fresh summer rolls were great. Really enjoyed the meal. Plates are empty in the picture because it was so good we ate it all
Judy P — Google review
This is a busy spot, especially with foreigners, but we had a very bad experience. We ordered the a sweet and sour pork dish, and we discovered some of the pork was undercooked and completely raw. We only noticed it towards the end of the meal. When we showed the raw meat to the owner, his response was shocking. He told us it was our fault for not noticing it sooner and sending it back!!!! It was a crazy and deeply concerning response to a serious health risk. When we asked for the bill, there was no apology or discount offered. We had to argue with the owner just to discuss the issue and his explanation was the meat was cooked from frozen so it's normal to be like this!!!! This restaurant has terrible customer service and dangerous cooking standards. Be careful if you eat here as it seems to be the customers job to make sure the restaurant cook their food!

There are lots of very good local restaurants in Can Tho, including a good number of vegan ones. International options are more limited though, especially for vegetarians and vegans. But this place is wonderful. The quality is excellent, they have a vast menu with a wide range of both Vietnamese and international dishes, almost everything comes with a vegetarian or vegan option. I sometimes come here to satisfy cheese cravings with their quesadillas, but their Vietnamese food is also very good. They also do very good salad and the fruit juice is real fruit juice with no added sugar. Popular with both locals and foreigners, depending what time you come. I can't praise it highly enough!

Quán Cơm Chay Sen Vàng 2 is a well-known vegetarian restaurant in Can Tho, known for its delectable vegetarian dishes. The restaurant boasts simple yet captivating decor, and the menu is prominently displayed on the wall for easy selection. Guests have praised the friendly staff, flavorful soups, Chinese-style fried rice dishes, and affordable prices. The variety of food options has left many patrons satisfied, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and delightful flavors at budget-friendly prices.
They have an English menu that says that all food is vegan and doesn’t contain any meat/fish/egg/dairy. That‘s trust-building because of the sometimes different interpretations what „chay / vegetarian“ does or doesn‘t include or exclude. We had 4 dishes (starters and mains) that were all very good. The drink of your choice should be lotus seed milk with ice. A bit seeet but yummi. Staff was nice and the ambience is what you can expect in this price range.

Spanning over 10,000 square meters and home to around 2,000 cacao trees, this delightful spot invites visitors to stroll through lush greenery while learning about the fascinating journey from bean to bar. The owner, fluent in English and brimming with enthusiasm, guides guests through the entire chocolate-making process.
We had a wonderful tour through the cocoa farm. Mr. Bean showed us around the farm, told us the history of how he became a cocoa farmer and showed us the different steps of making chocolate. We bought a box of the chocolate candy after the tasting, highly recommend!

Great visit for such a cheap price! The owner, Binh, explained all the process (in a good English), from the cacao flower to the final products. Everything is organic! You can taste a hot or cold chocolate and walk around the cacao farm. There are very few cacao farms in Southern Vietnam, so I recommend this visit!

This cocoa garden is doing a great job in tourism. The owner speaks English, so he can introduce his products and explain how he grows cocoa trees. I really enjoyed my time here—walking around the garden, listening to his story, and learning how cocoa is made. They also offer cocoa-based alcohol, which is quite interesting to try.

Highly recommended if you love nature, chocolate and local culture.

(July 2023) We visited back in July and we probably paid around 70-80k VND per person. I don’t understand how others can say the money isn’t worth it tbh, it was one of my favourite experiences in Vietnam, mostly because Mr. Bean himself was so well-informed and passionate about his craft and things he has achieved. We later realised he was one of “the few” people in Vietnam who spoke English well 🙃 We got to see different stages of cocoa beans and cocoa making process, we could stroll around the farm and afterwards we got to taste homemade chocolate and cocoa drinks as well (my personal favourite was the hot cocoa). We also tried an “experimental” cider made from cocoa beans which tasted great, we regretted not having more cash with us as we definitely would have bought some products to support the cocoa farm 💕

The owner gave us a tour. He was really enthusiastic to present us the way he makes chocolate by hand. One tip: don't come with a guide, just drive and show up there, the owner is very friendly and will give you a tour with a smile :)

Very nice, small-scale organic cacao farm. The owner speaks good English. You can take a walk through the cacao trees and after that he can show you the full process of how he makes chocolate from cacao beans. We also got to taste the products from every stage. Very interesting and delicious! Warmly recommended. It's possible to buy chocolate and other cacao products directly from the farm. You can contact the owner by Messenger.

CACAO Farm

Chocolate factory
CACAO Farm, also known as Mien Tay Cacao farm, is a must-visit destination for those interested in Can Tho's agricultural culture. This unique farm offers visitors the opportunity to experience a homestay while observing the creation of cacao-based products through guided tours. The owner, who has been running the farm since the 60s, shares firsthand knowledge about chocolate-making and cocoa production.
Amazing experience with the one and only «Mr. bean»! I came here with nothing booked and was offered to have the owner as the tour guide, showing us the history which is frankly very fascinating! For only 80.000VND/person, you get a full tour of every step in making chocolate manually, and you get to taste the raw products, chocolate, a drink and even a cider, all included! Bean has good english and is a funny guy, I highly recommend anyone to go here!

We had a great experience on this very traditional cocoa farm. The owner is very experienced and knows everything about the art of cocoa production in the old way.

Cool experience. The owner/farmer is a charming man who can speak both French and Engligh. If you go by yourself and dont have a tour guide with you, its also fine as he will take you through the process of making cacao himself. The route to this place is very easy- just follow google map and take 20'- 30' of bike riding from the city center. You would spend around 30' at this place. Ticket is 80k/pax incl a drink. Can buy some products here too. We enjoyed it a lot. Thank you.
C. N — Google review
The english guided tour by the owner was an insightful experience, offering a detailed walkthrough of the entire cacao-making process. I got to taste the fresh cacao fruit and the final products, which was a highlight. The ticket for 80k is good, but an additional charge of 20k for the second cacao drink after the tour felt a bit like a fraud, because it wasn’t clearly communicated upfront. It would have been better if this cost was mentioned beforehand. Overall, it was an short educational and enjoyable visit, but the pricing structure could be more transparent.

Very cute cacao farm, taken around by the owner who was lovely. We got to try everything and saw how they hand make their chocolate. It was the most delicious chocolate I’ve ever had, we bought two bags! Thank you for a lovely experience

Really enjoyed my visit to the Cacao farm. Mr Bean (the host) was very friendly and passionate about his story, production and finished hand made product (the beans are roasted in a drum over a fire pit). We then finished off with a nice refreshing iced chocolate 😋

Lovely cacao farm. The owner was super kind to us, his English was great and it was beautiful to hear all the stories in the first person. His dedication and enthusiasm are so inspiring! It was for me the best black chocolate I’ve ever tried, the depth on taste is incredible. We also tried some type of cocoa licor that was delicious. We had to take some with us.

Homestay Can Tho-Green Sunshine is a charming guesthouse with a communal kitchen and a serene garden, offering loaner bikes and Wi-Fi for guests. The host, Jess, is known for her warm welcome and assistance in arranging local tours, including visits to the floating market. Guests appreciate the peaceful and clean accommodations, which provide a quiet retreat from the bustling city of Can Tho.
The best Homestay! Jess the host was so helpful and went out of her way to ensure we had a great time, including where to eat, suggesting and organising tours, local transport etc. We ended up staying an extra two nights and Jess easily accommodated us. The Homestay is super clean, affordable and the ensuite rooms are super spacious. Lots of nice places to eat nearby and easy to get into town with grab ride and free bicycles. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Highly recommend it :D We stayed for four nights and it was our oasis to return to after days of exploring the Mekong area. The rooms have air-conditioning and the outdoor area is really nice to sit and very peaceful. Jess even showed me many fruits from her garden and really upgraded my breakfast with that, thank you! She also knows the absolute gems in terms of restaurants and tours (worth to ask her about local Bánh Xèo and vegetarian hot pot!). She booked two Mekong tours for us and some other guys from the homestay and they were much better than the big touristy tours. She also organized our onward travel for us. Even the laundry service was really cheap, we ended up paying 70k for the laundry of 2 persons :D Scooter can also be rented at the homestay for 150k/day. The location is well off the busy areas next to the green but with good proximity to bigger streets and restaurants. It is easy to reach many spots by bicycle that she borrows for free for 3h/day. All in all, amazing experience I would definitely come back 😊😊

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was one of the nicest places in my 4 weeks in Vietnam! The host Jess is so kind and helped me with booking a tour, my bus and gave me recommendations where to eat. Unfortunately I was sick during my stay but Jess made me a soup and brought me fruits which was so very kind! The room is spacious and cozy. Everything is really clean and the house is very nice. There is a little kitchen where you can make tea/coffee and you can sit in the courtyard. It's a bit outside of the city so it's very quiet and relaxing. It doesn't take longer than a 10 minute car/scooter ride to get to the city.

I loved my stay here. It so happened that my stay here coincided with me being sick. And this homestay turned out to be the perfect place to rest. Quán Lẩu Vịt Nấu Chao Thành Giao is a renowned Vietnamese restaurant known for its specialty dish, the duck hotpot with fermented bean curd. This unique dish has been recognized as one of the top 100 Vietnamese dishes and is highly recommended by locals. The restaurant offers an authentic South Vietnamese dining experience and is popular among both locals and tourists. In addition to the delicious duck hotpot, they also serve other specialties such as fried fish paste and mouse meat.
Recommended to us by Tuan at Victoria Resort once he knew we like to explore and eat local foods. We would never have found this place without the recommendation. This was a duck hot pot for 2. Could feed 4 !! This dish you add tofu , noodle and greens to the pot to cook and ladle it out to eat. Everyone eats the duck pieces with their fingers and it’s a bit messy and fun and tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly and helped to show what to do. If you want to get off the beaten track and try a dish loved by the locals then give this one a try.
Alister R — Google review
Too extreme for me. The duck hotpot had an insanely strong smell and taste because of fermented tofu. Moreover, the meat literally consisted in floating chunks of duck with bones and everything. 🤢 The whole restaurant, including tables and chairs, wasn’t clean at all. Most of the staff was 13 years old and didn’t speak a single word of English. They only accept cash. I definitely found it authentic, probably too much for my personal tastes.
Fabio B — Google review
Let me tell you, the Lẩu Vịt Nấu Chao (fermented bean curd duck hot pot) at Quán Lẩu Vịt Nấu Chao Thành Giao in Can Tho is something special. From the moment the bubbling pot arrived at our table, filled with that rich, creamy broth and the tender pieces of duck, I knew I was in for a treat. There's a real comfort in this dish. The slightly tangy and savory broth, the soft duck meat that practically falls off the bone, and the fresh greens you get to dunk in – it all just felt so homely and satisfying. It's the kind of meal that makes you slow down, savor each bite, and just feel good. I went with friends, and the atmosphere was perfect for sharing stories and laughter over this delicious pot. It felt like a truly authentic Vietnamese culinary experience. Honestly, the flavors were so good, they kind of transported me. It reminded me of family gatherings and those heartwarming meals that stick with you long after you've finished eating. The duck was cooked perfectly, not too tough, and soaked up all that wonderful broth. Dipping it in the accompanying sauces just elevated it to another level. Now, the only little hiccup in our experience was the service. It took a little while for our orders to be taken, and there were a few delays in getting extra broth and vegetables. It wasn't terrible, but it did mean we had to be a bit patient. Despite that slight wait, the sheer deliciousness of the food won me over. That hot pot was truly the star of the show. I left feeling full, happy, and with a genuine appreciation for the flavors of this dish. Would I go back? Absolutely. The Lẩu Vịt Nấu Chao is worth it. Maybe just be prepared for a slightly slower pace when it comes to service. But trust me, that first taste will make you forget all about the wait. It's a taste of Can Tho I won't soon forget.

So this was a recommendation by our hostess because the restaurant is loved by the locals. Luckily we arrived quite early in the evening because half an hour later the restaurant was full. We had Duck Hot Pot, and no clue how to eat it. So the friendly personell showed us how to do it ;) they were really helpful and friendly, maybe they had quite fun with us. The meal was delicious, too. And it was a lot, we had to give up at some point. The price was reasonable, as always in Vietnam. Just check this place out when you are in Can Tho!

We wanted to try the local specialty and a quick Google search said this was the locals' pick for duck hotpot with fermented tofu and it didn't disappoint! It was humming and we were the only tourists but the staff were sweet and very patient with us. The dish was delicious and nuanced and if you're looking for an authentic, non-touristy dining experience, definitely come roll your sleeves up and pull up a plastic stool.

On the roofs of the gates are all roofed with blue yin and yang tiles, and all have a pair of parallel sentences in Embossed Chinese characters. Behind the main gate is a semicircular lotus pond about 25 m² wide, surrounded by willow trees. In the middle of the pond is an open-air statue of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, nearly 3 meters high. The side gate on the left is the main entrance to the temple. On the left are the Stupas, which are the resting places of the late Monks who served as Abbots of the temple. On the right is a fairly large yard. Here there is a temple of the Five Elements on the left, the Earth God on the right, and in the middle are planted many ornamental flowers. Quang Duc Pagoda is a prominent Buddhist temple located on Mau Than Street in Xuan Khan, known as the longest street in the Mekong Delta. The pagoda, one of the largest active Buddhist temples, features ornate architecture and houses a serene statue of Buddha surrounded by intricate wooden doors. Despite undergoing renovations in 2012, it still exudes its rich historical significance. Visitors can experience the tranquility and harmony within the temple grounds, where monks continue to reside.

Chua Quang Duc is one of many small pagodas within Can Tho city. It is unassuming from the outside, but is quite interesting once you enter the complex and building. However, it is not much different from all the other pagodas, with similar statues, decorated prayer altars and artworks. The courtyard has a lovely Quang Yin statue and altar along with a white marble Laughing Buddha all on display. If you're in the area and looking at visiting a pagoda without going outside of Can Tho city, this is a typical example of one and is mildly interesting, but there are better ones around.

Chùa Pitu Khôsa Răngsây (Chùa Viễn Quang) is a stunning Khmer pagoda located in the Mekong Delta, featuring a magnificent golden roof and intricate Khmer patterns and images adorning its stupa. The sanctum houses finely carved stone statues of Shakyamuni, while the three floors offer unique beauty to explore.
Perfect sunset spot on third floor rooftop. You can admire the wonderful roof fresques and also the view over the city.

This is a nice temple tucked away amongst the back streets in a local neighbourhood. The temple design, architecture and decorations are like those you would see in Cambodia, of the Theravada branch of Buddhism. The actual size of the complex is quite small, especially the courtyard section, but the temple building has several storeys to it. Each of the levels can be visited, and each are colourfully decorated with religious statues, murals and art. If you're in the area, or within Can Tho and have yet to see a Cambodian styled temple (Wat), and are interested, then this would worthwhile of a visit. The local roads leading to it are quite narrow and suited only to motorbikes and pedestrians. If you arrive by car you would have to be dropped off on the larger, main road and walk the rest if the way, which isn't too far (approximately 200 metres from the nearest main road).

Nice Khmer temple. But the steps are very slippery when wet and in bare feet.
Francis S — Google review
The place is very beautiful and peaceful. The architecture is unique and colorful. It looks like a small temple but spend some time here exploring all three floors. Each floor has its own beauty. Three things to absolutely not miss 1. Of course worshipping in the gorgeous Buddhist temple. 2. Visit the second floor. The meeting room which gives you a traditional feeling as its decor and furnishing looks ancient. (You may get a Cup of tea and some offerings) 3. Visit the roof for a view of Can Tho. A glimpse of the busy life of locals. Note : Look for a monk to assist you. Don't be shy to ask for a tour. If you feel like it, you may give some donations.( Not mandatory). The experience is free.

More of a coffee shop with dusty, cramped, poorly lit exhibits. There's an upstairs with additional exhibits for a hefty price. However, if you agree to give a 5 star review, you can see it for FREE! Don't trust those reviews.

It is an absolute delight to listen to the owner of the museum, who personally does a very informative tour of the whole place. You can clearly see that he is passionate about what he is talking about. The collection of Tarot cards (as well as other cards, stones, and even amulets) is astonishing and ever-growing. This is truly a hidden gem of Can Tho.

Great if your vaguely interested in Tarot. Many cards, pictures, book from many countries. Lot of stones for the stoned enthusiast (lapidary). Tea & coffee available

Note that the photo from Trip Advisor does not match the front of this museum. I tried to contact someone via the website months in advance and received no reply. Showed up on a Thursday at 1 PM and paid entry fee (after having to get attendant's attention who was busy texting / playing games on his phone), took off shoes and ascended stairs. Displays full of items but unmarked. Skipped the recorded commentary based on poor reviews. Wifii not working. Air was stuffy--ceiling fans were turned off for some reason. Not sure if the cafe was running--no evidence of food/drink service for visitors and none offered. Disappointed that the lithotherapy objects were removed from the collection. As a Viet Kieu who is an avid tarot person, I found myself a bit let down. Three stars for a cool collection of items that photographed well but it all felt a bit neglected and randomly displayed--bummed that they did not offer Vietnamese tarot decks for sale.

Vegan restaurant
Quán Ăn Chay Bách Thảo is a delightful vegan-friendly restaurant nestled in the heart of Can Tho, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The design strikes a perfect balance between comfort and spaciousness, creating an ambiance that feels both relaxed and welcoming.
I really enjoyed this vegetarian restaurant in a bustling eating street. I had the vegan pho which had a good broth ( seasoned well, not sweet like other places, but aromatic) and the noodle was soft and velvety. The rolls need a little more seasoning. The street has many more vegetarian restaurants and good atmosphere.

Our best place in Cat Tho!!! We kept coming back every day and the staff always greeted us with smiles and provided great service. We tried whole lot of different things and don't know what to recommended, everything was super tasty, portions were big and the prices very very affordable. Also lot of local people dining there which is always a sign of great authentic food.

The food wasn’t really good. The fried rice with vegetarian seafood didn’t tasted like seafood at all, it was just unseasoned tofu. The fried spring rolls were cold and didn’t taste like anything. The fried noodles weren’t fried, barely even cooked. At the outside of the restaurant it says vegan, but the milk in the tea was cow milk.

Clean and good flavor. The staffs here are very professional. I really like the iced tea. There are many choices for breakfast and lunch such as noodles, rice with “veggies” seafood and lotus seeds, noodles in Korean and Thai style. Besides that they have normal rice and blood rice with lots of choices. Located in a famous crowded food street in Can Tho. Highly recommend.

Rice plate/set meal of the day is 18,000. Of the four vegetarian restaurants I went to during my time in Can Tho, this was my favorite. The set meals I had were a good size, had plenty of vegetables, and they were not overly oily! Staff are friendly and they have a menu with Vietnamese and English. Enjoy! You don't have to be vegetarian!

By far my favourite restaurant! After that wonderful night that I found this hidden gem, I returned every day that I spent in Cần Thơ. It is a very welcoming place with unbelievably friendly staff. I couldn't help but continuously smile every time I dined or lunched there. I nearly tried every 'ăn chay' (vegetarian) dish on the menu and can recommend them all. I enjoyed really nice and memorable social interactions and conversations at this restaurant. Thank you so much! All the best and see you again, Finn Cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều! I ordered wrong! Get the Hot Pot. The place is packed with people waiting for tables. Everyone has the Hot Pot! For one, I thought something smaller and ordered a Fried Rice with Vegetarian Salty Fish. But not a vegetable in the rice, and it was VERY bland. The "Spring Rolls" were actually Rice Paper Rolls and came wrapped in plastic (that I wasn't warned about). Learfrom my mistake... get the Hot Pot!

Vạn Phát Riverside is a large and relatively new 4-star hotel located in the beautiful Con Khuong villa area, offering spacious and clean room designs. Situated by the Hau River, it provides a cool and immersive experience in the Mekong Delta's Tay Do region. The hotel is conveniently located about 7km from Can Tho International Airport and Ninh Kieu Wharf. Guests can enjoy affordable prices when booking through Agoda.
Our stay at the Van Phat riverside has been amazing. The hotel is like new, extremely clean. The staff is nice and they speak a good English. Rooms are large and comfortable, the swimming pool was crystal clear, and breakfast was one of the best we’ve had for the whole duration of the trip in Vietnam. Totally recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights, and the room was pretty decent. At night, we pretended to be ghosts and went around scaring the neighboring rooms—it was actually really fun and refreshing 😂. What disappointed me, though, was that we got fined 200,000 VND for smoking in the room 😭

Really great hotel! The staff and the rooms were great. Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable. The only downside is for the breakfast, it would be nice to not only write "dumpling", but what the falling is, whether it's veggie or not. But appart from that great hotel
Max L — Google review
During a business trip to Cần Thơ, I had the chance to stay at Vạn Phát Riverside Hotel, nestled right along the gentle Hậu River. This place, number 2 Nguyễn Văn Cừ Street, Ninh Kiều District, ain’t just a hotel — it’s like a quiet southern poem sung by the river breeze. Waking up early, I looked out from the balcony and saw the great Cần Thơ Bridge standing tall in the distance, like a memory stretching from old ferry days to modern life. The hotel space is broad and breezy, with a wide-open yard and big ol’ parking lot that makes coming and going easy as pie. The swimming pool glistens under the Mekong sun, perfect for a cool dip after a long day’s work. But what really soothes the soul is the riverside coffee shop. Sitting there with a warm cup, watching boats drift slowly past, the world seems to slow down with the river’s pace. Come mealtime, the Vạn Phát banquet restaurant serves up a real feast — all kinds of Mekong Delta specialties, from crispy elephant-ear fish to hotpots bubbling with herbs and river delights. It’s a fine place to treat guests or wind down with old friends. But not everything shines like a polished coconut. The staff, bless their hearts, could use a little more warmth in their welcome. Service was sometimes cold and stiff — not quite the sweet southern spirit we know and love. A bit of training and kindness would go a long way. Still, for those who want to feel the breath of the river and the soul of miền Tây, Vạn Phát Riverside is worth a stop. It’s where the city meets the water, and where the heart feels just a little lighter.
Có I — Google review
Room was clean but in my opinion and travel experience; it should not be a 4-stars hotel. There was an additional fee of $120,000 vnđ per night for a baby crib. There was only shower and no bathtub or open window from bathroom as advertised. The river view was obstructed by tall trees. The breakfast was actually decent and good. I would not recommend using the spa here. You probably get your money worth more elsewhere. The masseuse talked a lot and rushed through the process. The spa facility was somewhat rundown.
