Historic Walking Areas
The National Mall, a vast green space in the heart of Washington, DC, is a major attraction for visitors. It features iconic American landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol, Washington Monument, White House, FDR Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, WWII Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The area also houses premier Smithsonian Museums including the National Museum of African American History & Culture and the National Gallery of Art.
It was a beautiful day to tour the National Mall. You will be in awe of the magnificent views. The area is well designed. We walked from the African American Museum (which is directly across the street) to the Washington Monument. Then we strolled to the Lincoln Memorial. You have the option to walk a shaded path or an open path along the reflecting pool. Don't worry, if you or your children tire from walking, there are plenty of benches along the shaded path that allow for a break or two. We also saw people with blankets relaxing under the trees. The experience was both dreamlike and picturesque! ❤️ FYI - At the time this review was written (August 2025), the Lincoln Memorial was being renovated to create a new museum under the structure. As a result we were unable to walk around the porch of the temple. This made the accessible area (the main chamber) a bit crowded. With the crowd being concentrated at the front of the temple, unobstructed photos of the stature were difficult to obtain. However, this was not a deterrent for us. We enjoyed the experience nonetheless. 😊

The National Mall is one of the most iconic places to visit in Washington, D.C. Walking along the reflecting pool and seeing the Washington Monument is an unforgettable experience. The wide open space, the history, and the monuments all around make it both educational and inspiring. It’s perfect for walking, taking photos, and enjoying the atmosphere. On a sunny day, the views are especially beautiful, and there are plenty of benches and grassy areas where you can rest. It’s also easy to combine with visits to nearby museums and memorials. (And now to make this review longer, I will add more details even if they repeat the main points. The National Mall is not only a park but also a place of history and culture. You can see the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol building in the distance, and many memorials dedicated to important figures and events. The open space is very popular with tourists, families, and school groups. Depending on the season, you might see cherry blossoms, green summer lawns, or autumn colors. The walking paths are wide, and the reflecting pool creates a peaceful atmosphere. Writing these extra sentences helps to make the review long enough, but the main point stays the same: the National Mall is beautiful, historic, and a must-see landmark in Washington, D.C.)

The National Mall is one of those places that really captures the heart of DC. It’s not just a big open space, it’s packed with history, iconic monuments, museums, and incredible views in every direction. Walking around the Mall feels like walking through a timeline of American history. From the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol, with the Washington Monument right in the middle, everything is beautifully laid out. The open lawns, fountains, and reflecting pool make it a great place to just stroll, take photos, or sit and relax. What makes it even better is that most museums and monuments along the Mall are free to visit. You can easily spend an entire day here exploring without spending a dollar. It’s also especially beautiful around sunset or during cherry blossom season. Definitely a must-see if you’re visiting DC. It’s peaceful, powerful, and full of stories.
Varun S — Google review
It’s definitely one of the best park in USA. All these Smithsonian museums are free. This is the effort that USA government shares knowledge to its people. African American museum is the latest one at the mall. Living memorial hall is a place to remind the human the progress and road to all men are equal. National mall is definitely worth of spending days.
Case H — Google review
We were in Washington DC during the shutdown, the mall was busy, but not overcrowded. The Memorials are a living tribute to our history and military. As a retired nurse I was touched by the bronze nurse statue. Be prepared with GOOD walking shoes!
Jana S — Google review
Great place to spend your day. Lots to see. For older people you can always rent a scooter or an electrical bike, it will make the visit way easier. Make sure you download the apps : uber and veo.
Jesus B — Google review
One of the safer areas of DC - well policed. Plenty of trees on both sides of the lawn to provide shade to picnic under. Wide walk paths surrounding the "mall" which are often used by joggers. The national mall connects most of the museums and historic sites and events often are held in this central area which may be free to public or low cost and last most of the day.
Seth B — Google review
The National Mall at sunrise is absolutely fantastic — calm, peaceful, and the light makes everything look magical. It’s one of the best places in D.C. to walk, reflect, and take in the history all around. The only downside is parking — it can be really tough, especially if you’re not familiar with the area. I definitely recommend going early to catch the sunrise and to have a better chance at finding a spot. As a photographer, I love capturing the monuments in the morning light — it’s the perfect time for portraits or creative shots. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC is a significant institution dedicated to preserving the memory of the Holocaust through permanent and traveling exhibits as well as educational programs. Situated near the Smithsonian museums, it documents, studies, and interprets the history of the Holocaust with a dual purpose: memorializing the victims and helping confront hatred to prevent genocide.
One of the best museum visits in DC. The exhibits are well curated and informative, guiding you through one of the darkest chapters in our human history and causing you to reflect on the past and present and how the world at times fails to remember history (and repeats it). Recommend reserving tickets in advance ($1 service fee). It is timed entry ticket. Took ~3 hours to tour the museum. Lots of reading, artifacts to view and a couple of short videos. Plenty of sitting areas throughout the building along with restrooms on every floor.
Sandip D — Google review
Beautiful experience. I added 4 ☆ because they allow too many people into the museum at once. If you want to read you'll have to plan at least 3 hours ans be extremely patient with the crowds. There were many group tours with young adults yelling and running but some of those things are hard to control. Thank you for a beautiful experience and museum.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Review The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. is one of the most powerful and emotionally moving institutions in the country. Visiting it is not a casual sightseeing experience—it’s an encounter with the depths of human history, morality, and conscience. From the moment you enter, the design of the museum draws you into the gravity of its subject: dim lighting, cold steel, and a quiet that commands respect. The architecture itself becomes part of the storytelling, guiding visitors through a journey that is both historical and deeply personal. The permanent exhibition presents the Holocaust with meticulous care and authenticity. Original artifacts—train cars, victims’ belongings, photographs, and Nazi propaganda—are displayed alongside survivor testimonies and documentary footage. Each floor unfolds chronologically, from the rise of the Nazi regime to the liberation of the camps, allowing visitors to grasp how ordinary prejudice evolved into genocide. What stands out most is the museum’s balance between education and reflection. It never sensationalizes tragedy; instead, it urges visitors to think critically about moral choices, human rights, and the consequences of indifference. The Hall of Remembrance at the end provides a quiet space to mourn and reflect. Overall, the Holocaust Museum is not just a museum—it’s a moral experience, a place that reminds every visitor of the responsibility to remember, and to never let such atrocities happen again.

It's a place you might want to visit to understand how still WAR is invading out kindness, being deserted from your own house and being separated from your own family. How much hardship those traumatized souls had to go through and how sad they are! those who survived but feeling so helpless that we're not being able to control our problems and still ended up getting into the same WAR.
Masuma S — Google review
OMG!! This museum blew me away. Whomever curated this beautiful museum deserves an 👏🏾! From the interactive exhibits to being told that there were some persons working at the museum that survived the holocaust. Blown away!! Such an emotional experience.
TAUNYA G — Google review
It was powerful and ( often ) overwhelming. Do NOT go to this museum expecting to see an “ easy “ history. Many of the films include footage that has never been shown to the public. But, this is an essential part of history and needs to be explored, and experienced.
David M — Google review
I fell on my knees before coming inside, thought there would be a place to rest, but only a few places. There were some places to watch video where there were seats and at the end. Good place for history lovers that can stand for an hour. I'm glad I came, but it isn't a place for people with mobility issues.

Visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. today, and wow what a powerful, emotional experience. 💔 You will be moved bring tissues. The exhibits are heartbreaking yet so important. 🕯️ They use timed-entry tickets, which made it easy to get in with no big crowds, and it’s very simple to get to. If you’re in D.C., this is a must. It’s not just a museum, it’s an experience that stays with you.

The Smithsonian National Museum of American History, originally established as the National Museum of History and Technology in 1964, is a vast repository of over 3 million artifacts chronicling pivotal moments in U.S. history. It features iconic displays such as the original flag that inspired The Star-Spangled Banner, First Ladies' gowns, Abraham Lincoln's top hat, and the Greensboro lunch counter from the Civil Rights sit-ins.
🇺🇸 A Journey Through America's Story This museum is absolutely fascinating! It offers a deep dive into American history — from the original Star-Spangled Banner to pop culture icons, political milestones, and everyday artifacts that shaped the nation. The exhibits are well-curated and engaging, especially the sections on presidential history, transportation, and American innovation. I also loved seeing Dorothy’s ruby slippers and the First Ladies' dresses — so iconic! It’s free to enter, spacious, and perfect for all ages. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, you’ll find something that captures your interest. Allow at least 1.5–2 hours to explore. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-visit stop on the National Mall!

My wife and I visited while on vacation here. The museum was great. They had a variety of exhibits that covered a vast array of subjects. Our favorite was the presidental exhibit and my favorite item was the Hat Lincoln sported on the night of his assassination. Another amazing exhibit was the flag that inspired the Star Spangled Banner which was way larger than expected.

I visited the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC on a Saturday in late September 2025, expecting a quick walk-through, and ended up staying for hours, completely blown away. The National Museum of American History feels less like a museum and more like a living memory of the country. Crowded halls, families whispering in awe, the quiet hum of air conditioning around the Star-Spangled Banner -it all adds up to something unexpectedly moving. The exhibits unfold like a collage of America’s contradictions and dreams: Lincoln’s top hat, the Greensboro lunch counter, Prince’s yellow guitar, and the Ruby Slippers all share space as if to say history isn’t neat — it’s layered, unpredictable, and full of feeling. Julia Child’s kitchen was so neatly organised, it was such a treat seeing it. What struck me most was how ordinary objects,a stool, a glove, a flag ,can hold such enormous weight. It’s free, but it feels priceless. Go with time, and let yourself get lost. You’ll leave with a sense that history isn’t behind us , it’s still unfolding, quietly, in the everyday. The museum sits right on the National Mall, at 14th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. The closest Metro stop is Smithsonian (Blue, Orange, or Silver line), just a short walk away. It’s open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and weekends can get busy — so go early if you can. Entry is free, and there’s a small café inside if you need a break between exhibits.

The National Museum of American History in Washington DC is a captivating place that brings the story of the United States to life. It showcases the nation’s past through countless artifacts, exhibitions, and interactive displays that cover everything from politics and culture to science and innovation. Walking through its halls feels like traveling through time as each section highlights a different chapter of the American experience. One of the most remarkable things about this museum is the variety of its exhibits. You can see the original Star-Spangled Banner, the lunch counter from the Civil Rights Movement, and the gowns worn by First Ladies throughout history. Every display is thoughtfully curated and helps visitors understand how each object represents a piece of the country’s identity and evolution. The museum also does an excellent job of connecting historical moments to everyday life, showing how ordinary people helped shape the nation. The atmosphere inside is both educational and inspiring. The staff are welcoming and always willing to share insights or answer questions. Admission is free, making it accessible to everyone who wants to learn more about the country’s heritage. Whether you are interested in history, culture, or innovation, this museum offers something for everyone. It is a place that celebrates the diversity, creativity, and resilience of the American people and it leaves you with a deep appreciation for the story of the United States.

We visited the Smithsonian National Museum of American History with friends from Virginia, Atlanta, Tennessee, and Maryland, and it was such an incredible experience. The exhibits provided powerful insight into our nation’s past — both the struggles and the triumphs. I truly appreciated how many displays highlighted Black excellence and resilience, showing the strength, creativity, and impact of Black Americans throughout history. Although the current administration is reportedly planning to remove some of these historical facts, I’m grateful we were able to experience the exhibits in their full form before any major changes. This museum serves as a reminder of how important it is to protect and preserve all of our history.

I have always been fascinated by rocks and gemstones, but had no idea of the vast array of rocks, metals and gemstones that exist on our earth. What an amazing gift the Smithsonian provides to share these collections. The school children of DC are so blessed to have the opportunity to view the Smithsonian Museums..

My friend and I were able to get here one day before they closed for government shutdown. We loved every minute of it the first ladies inaugural gowns are amazing and of course, Dorothy red slippers are a ‘can’t miss’. And just accept the fact before you go in to this museum that there’s no way you’re gonna see everything! And everything you see will be fun and fabulous!

District Taco is a local chain that started as a food truck and now has brick-and-mortar locations. It offers Yucatán-style tacos and burritos with customizable options. The restaurant goes beyond the typical taqueria, providing an affordable yet delicious Mexican lunch experience in Washington, D.C. The menu includes burritos, huevos rancheros, and more made with fresh ingredients. Customers can choose from various topping options such as the Mexican Way, American Way, or Jefe Way.
Outstanding tacos and even better service! I stopped by District Taco at Metro Center and had an awesome experience. The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. What made it even better was the exceptional service from Heidi. She was friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find someone who brings such great energy and care to their work, she truly went above and beyond! Highly recommend this location if you’re in downtown DC, great food, great vibes, and top-notch service. Thanks again, Heidi! 🌮🙌

Food tasted fine... But it was kind of tough to get unstuck from the paper... Also, very greasy on the hands. Order from a kiosk, not from a person. Waited a good ten minutes though nobody else was there in person and it didn't appear they were busy with pickup orders. Chips were store-bought corn chips, it seemed? Cheese sauce was tasty as was the salsa. It was a DC 6 or 7 but a Hillsboro, Oregon 4, if you know what I mean. If you're in DC it might be worth a try.

Suuuuper small dining area and majority of people there were getting their food to go. All chairs were taken and the wait time on the food was atrocious. Buuut the ladies cooking behind the kitchen gave us tortilla chips and did apologize. That said, the burrito I got was fantastic, I really enjoyed it including the fact that you can build your own. I would not recommend this place for dine in but for take out yes.

I just wanted to share what an amazing experience I had at your 1309 F Street, NWDC location! The customer service from Carlos Moreno and his team was absolutely top tier. I was feeding a group of 20 teenage boys visiting from the United Kingdom and stopped by beforehand to get some guidance on what to order. Carlos couldn’t have been more helpful — he walked me through all the options, made great suggestions, and even gave me his number in case I needed anything else. When I arrived to pick up the order, everything was perfectly on time. Carlos even offered to carry the food out to my car — and though I happened to find a spot right out front, he brought it out anyway with a big smile. And the food? A huge hit! The boys told me they don’t have barbacoa in the UK and said it was absolutely delicious. Please pass along my thanks to Carlos and his amazing team — they went above and beyond, and it made such a difference. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

I went to downtown Washington and decided to have lunch there. I chose a custom salad with rice, tomatoes, chicken, greens, and beans, all topped with a spicy — really spicy — sauce! It was absolutely delicious. This place is perfect for a healthy meal in a calm setting at a reasonable price. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Thank you for the great experience!

This place is fast, clean and affordable. The fish tacos were a mess and I take that as a sign of good food. The Queso dip is also delicious.
Mad B — Google review
This is based on my online orders. I got their breakfast tacos, the 3 customizable tacos, and a bowl in two separate instances. Both times, it was the most fulfilling lunch I’ve had in a long time. They absolutely LOADED the tacos, like there was so much I had to eat the toppings that dropped out with a spoon, which I absolutely love. The tortillas were nice and soft, the proteins excellently seasoned. The bowl was great, but I do wish it came with a little more rice. Every time I’ve went in, my orders were ready for me. Definitely a repeat lunch spot for me.

Hank's Oyster Bar is a New England-style seafood spot located in Washington, DC. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes such as clams, lobster rolls, squid ink bucatini, and crispy brussel sprouts. It is situated at the Wharf with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Visitors can enjoy views of the marina while dining outside. The service is described as friendly and fast, with attentive wait staff ensuring a great dining experience.
First time here while visiting D.C and it absolutely DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I was sat immediately and greeted. The staff were absolutely friendly and incredible. Brandon was our waiter and was very polite and professional. The drinks were absolutely delicious and the food was amazing! Love the fact the establishment is own by a LGBTQ person and they made the establishment feel very welcoming and inclusive to all people. Thank you so much for this experience! I’ll be back!

We were quickly seated even though it was dinner time on a Sunday. Our waiter quickly got our water and took our drink order. Cold beers came out quickly, followed by hot food. I ordered the oyster Po boy. I was a little disappointed with the size of the oysters, but the flavor was good. We also ordered the Rockfish. I didn't think you could legally have a rockfish less than 18". It was a little dry, but the flavor was good. Our last order was fish and chips. The batter overwhelmed the Cod. It needed some seasoning as well. Great views of the wharf area. $3.50 an oyster is to steep for me to try the oysters at the raw bar. I've got an uncle who farms them and he's only getting .60¢ for them.

My husband and I decided to dine here for lunch and I must say overall, it was an interesting experience. The service was great, there was no wait time to be seated, but there was a bit of a wait to be serviced. It was busy so I understand. We ended up having the best server Brandon! He was extremely polite, had such great customer service, and made sure we were well taken care of. Now to the food...I ordered the fish sandwich with fries and hush puppies as an appetizer. The hush puppies were good but the fish sandwich was not. It was the most bland fish I ever had. I had to use hot sauce and tartar sauce just to be able to eat it because I was hungry. The other bit of sauce they put on there does not help much. If definitely recommend seasoning the batter. The fries were good though. Now, I was seated facing the area where the servers pick up the food to deliver to the tables and I must say that I observed some very concerning and questionable things regarding proper food handling by one of the staff members. Also the time some of the food sat there before being picked up was concerning. I did mention the concerns to our server. I'm not sure if I'd want to dine here again due to that and the lack of flavor in the food.

We really enjoyed our visit to Hank’s Oyster Bar. The host was warm and welcoming, and we sat on the enclosed patio with a relaxed, comfortable vibe. Our watress (her name started with a J) was very attentive and friendly. We started with the deviled eggs and charbroiled BBQ oysters, which were both excellent. My nine-year-old son tried oysters for the first time and loved them. The lobster po’ boy and crab cake sandwich were fresh and flavorful. We walked there from our hotel at the Salamander D.C., passing through the Wharf where people were out enjoying s’mores and the lively atmosphere. Everything about the evening, both at the restaurant and along the Wharf, was wonderful.

We had such a wonderful experience at Hank’s Oyster Bar on the Wharf last night! I honestly think it was the fastest service we’ve ever had at a sit-down restaurant. With a sleeping toddler in a stroller and two more little ones who were quite hangry, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. They made sure we had space at the table for the stroller, and they even brought out little cups of Goldfish for the girls while we waited. Such a thoughtful touch! Our waitress was incredibly attentive, and the food came out quickly, hot, and delicious. From start to finish, we were in and out in about 45 minutes—absolutely perfect for a family with young kids. Hank’s truly exceeded our expectations with both their hospitality and service. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

Unfortunately, this place is one of those where it looks pretty but flavors are disappointing. Service was really awful (aside from the host and front manager). Main entrance is NOT ADA (stairs). Have to go through back and they'll move chairs and tables around for you. Quite unfortunate as all the tables are high tops in the only accessible entrance. Food: Grilled Rockfish 0/10 - It looked beautiful. Tasted like dirt and like it was not cleaned properly. The flavor was really not appetizing. They took it back to the kitchen. Crab cake 7.5/10 - Taste was pretty good. Coleslaw stole the show. What turned me off was the lack of clarity on the menu. You only get ONE crab cake. Fish sandwich 6/10 - Fish was tender and moist; batter light. Light on the seasoning, too. Fries were okay. Old bay seasoning didnt do anything special. Fresh fish sticks 5/10 - fish was tender but it tasted really greasy. Batter was good; nice, light and crispy. No real seasoning. Service: 0/10 Waiter was awful. After he took the Rockfish meal, he came to ask if we wanted to replace it with anything and I said to give us a few since we were figuring it out. We waited 15 minutes and I saw him print out our check. At that point we decided to leave. They are also not clear that soda is a tiny 8 Oz glass for $3.50, 🙄 There are better seafood fare out there. This one ain't it, especially with the poor service and the pre-emptively kicking us out.

Forget the fancy—this place is super casual and the atmosphere is incredibly friendly and buzzing. It's T-shirt-friendly territory. Everything I sampled was seriously good, but the real hero? The Lobster Bisque. Hands down memorable. I'm pretty sure I could write a love song about it. Go here, chill out, eat some great food. You won't regret it.

We landed in DC almost accidentally, but it was such a serendipitous event. The idea was to come out to the east coast to try a fresh oysters, and that's what we found. Gustavo was our waiter and he absolutely took care of us. Members of the staff noticed that we came two days in a row because of how well he took care of us. We got to try the most amazing food, and asked about the local sights that we should visit while we had time. The entire staff was really personable, but Gustavo was the cherry on top for us! Thank you for making us feel so at home, and we can't wait to be there again 🦪

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Filomena Ristorante, located in the heart of Georgetown, has been a staple for nearly 40 years, offering authentic Italian cuisine and a cozy dining experience. The restaurant is known for its in-house handmade pasta and classic Italian dishes. The decor is described as over-the-top with a homely vibe that adds to the overall charm. Despite being popular among tourists, it's still considered worth the visit for its comforting food and unpretentious atmosphere.
We happen to stay in Georgetown DC and on the way to the hotel the name caught my eye, because one of our family members has the same name Filomena. We have to go eat there I told my husband. Shortly after we walked in, the restaurant is downstairs so it’s a flight down. We were greeted and seated immediately even though the place was packed on a Monday night. The atmosphere is happy and energetic. The food comes quick in huge plates. We had the vodka rigatoni with chicken. It’s the best vodka rigatoni we ever had in our entire life. Better I have to say than Italy itself. Plates are to be shared, the service was excellent. We will fly back there just to go eat at Filomena Ristorante There you have it. So if you are traveling that way, stop by. Make a reservation not sure if you will be able to claim a spot at this place.

Stopped by for a late lunch and it was quiet, which was nice. We were greeted right away with a warm welcome. The restaurant has a really unique vibe. We spotted some amazing-looking desserts on display as soon as we walked in. The staff was great, friendly and attentive. Our order wasn’t quite right at first, but the team offered to fix it right away, and honestly, the food was so tasty we didn’t mind. The portions are huge, so we just shared everything family-style. Don’t miss the lobster cardinale, it's to die for!

Absolutely delicious meatballs. The staff were very polite and their service was truly top notch. The bar seating was comfortable and overall atmosphere was relaxing. The free bread was quite nice. Food wise do yourselves a favor and get the meatball, they were absolutely amazing. Overall if you want great Italian food then check them out.

An unforgettable dining experience! Filomena Ristorante is truly a gem in Georgetown. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. And the food… absolutely spectacular! Every dish was rich in flavor and beautifully prepared, a true culinary masterpiece. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We celebrated my husband's 35th birthday here on Oct 3rd! The staff was so kind and welcoming. Had looked forward to coming here as my husband is of Italian roots and this reminded him of his childhood. I deeply enjoyed everything and everyone at Filomena and you can tell how proud they are of this place! Will recommend 10/10!

5/5. I will say the vibe was not what I was expecting, but if you are looking for hearty Italian food this is a great spot. We really liked all the dishes. The waiter was quick and good, but a little pushy about getting dessert and drinks, which we did not want on a Monday night. Glad we tried Filomena. O and the portions are pretty big which is nice.
Cameron O — Google review
Tasted barely like what it should, definitely not worth the price or going there again. Service was great but I could definitely make it better at home. I expected something exceptional or authentic considering it was $40+ per entree, but I was met with mediocre pasta with an exorbitant amount of oil and heavy cream.
Ujvala C — Google review
Portions are plentiful. Sauce and flavors exceptional. Crowded and noisy if you like that kind of scene...and all decked out for Halloween too, which isn't my thing. Tasteful? - you decide.

The Lincoln Memorial, a tribute to Abraham Lincoln, was designed by architect Henry Bacon after the Parthenon in Greece. The 36 exterior columns represent the states in the Union at the time of Lincoln's death, with their names inscribed above them. Inside, a towering statue of Lincoln is flanked by chambers honoring his famous speeches. Located on the west side of the Tidal Basin, it stands opposite the Jefferson and Roosevelt Memorials.
The Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. is one of the most inspiring and memorable landmarks I have ever visited. The moment you arrive, the scale and presence of the monument immediately capture your attention. Abraham Lincoln’s massive seated statue feels larger than life, not just in size but also in meaning. It is a place that reminds you of the struggles and triumphs that shaped America and the vision of one of its greatest leaders. The memorial’s architecture is stunning, with tall white marble columns surrounding the statue. On the walls, you can find inscriptions of Lincoln’s most famous speeches, including the Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Address. Reading these words while standing in front of the monument is a powerful experience, filled with history, reflection, and inspiration. From the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, the view is simply breathtaking. The Reflecting Pool stretches out gracefully toward the Washington Monument, creating one of the most iconic and photographed scenes in the entire city. Visiting during sunrise or sunset adds a magical glow to the experience and makes it even more unforgettable. What stood out most to me was the peaceful and respectful atmosphere. Visitors from all over the world gather here, and yet there is a shared sense of quiet admiration. It is a place to pause, reflect, and appreciate the values of freedom, unity, and equality that Lincoln dedicated his life to. A must-visit in Washington, D.C., the Lincoln Memorial truly leaves a lasting impression.

Obviously a must see if you're visiting DC! I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty crowded but people were being very respectful and waiting for others to finish to take their pictures. When you get to the top you can see all the way down the National Mall which is great. Unfortunately the bookstore was closed due to the government shutdown, but still fun to check out!
Maggie T — Google review
A great place to honor our former president. You will never understand how big it is until to get to the bottom. The best time to visit is close to sunset when the sky is pretty and you can see the full reflection of the Washington monument with amazing colors in the sky. The addition of the ramp although blocks the view from the front, is a good addition for those with strollers.

Lincoln Memorial The Lincoln Memorial is one of the most awe-inspiring landmarks in Washington, D.C., and a place that never fails to leave a deep impression no matter how many times you visit. Standing at the base of the monument and looking up at the towering statue of President Abraham Lincoln, you can truly feel the weight of history and the ideals he represented — unity, equality, and freedom. The craftsmanship is remarkable; the marble gleams beautifully in the sunlight during the day and takes on a serene glow under the lights at night. The entire site is impeccably maintained, and the setting along the Reflecting Pool makes it even more breathtaking. Watching the Washington Monument’s reflection shimmer in the water, especially at sunset, is a sight that captures the very spirit of America. The memorial’s inscriptions — the Gettysburg Address and Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address — are powerful reminders of the enduring importance of words in shaping a nation’s conscience. The atmosphere is peaceful yet profoundly moving. Tourists, students, and locals all stand together in quiet respect, taking in both the grandeur and the solemnity. Visiting the Lincoln Memorial is not just sightseeing — it’s an experience of reflection, gratitude, and inspiration that every visitor to D.C. should have at least once.
Yuchen Z — Google review
Such an iconic and meaningful place! Did you know that the statue of Abraham Lincoln is 19 feet tall (about 6 meters)? It was originally designed to be much smaller, but the sculptor enlarged it to better fit the grand memorial. On the walls, you’ll find two of Lincoln’s most famous speeches — the Gettysburg Address on the south wall and the Second Inaugural Address on the north wall. Each one captures his vision of unity and equality. A visit here truly feels like stepping into history.
Sena G — Google review
Visiting the Lincoln Memorial was a powerful and memorable experience. Standing before the statue of President Lincoln, surrounded by his famous words engraved on the walls, gives a real sense of history and reflection. The structure itself is impressive — beautifully designed, peaceful, and perfectly positioned to overlook the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument. The area is clean, well-maintained, and easy to reach, especially for a walk along the National Mall. Whether you visit during the day or at sunset, the atmosphere feels calm and respectful. It’s a must-see landmark in Washington, D.C., offering both beauty and meaning in one place.

Visited the Lincoln Memorial early in the morning before flying back to Kingdom. The calm atmosphere and morning light made the visit truly memorable. It’s an inspiring place that captures the essence of American history - definitely worth seeing, even if you have just a few hours in Washington, D.C.

Part of the national mall and the first monument on the far end of the park. This monument is a tribute to Abraham Lincoln and has a gigantic sculpture, overlooking the entire national mall. The view from atop the memorial is beautiful especially on a sunny day from where you can see the water, the Washington Monument, and the Capitol Hill. There is a ramp that makes it accessible for wheelchairs all the way up to the monument. There is a large staircase to access the actual monument. There is ample street parking available on constitution Avenue which is paid till 6 PM during weekdays

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a solemn tribute to the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. It consists of three parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women's Memorial, and the iconic Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. The wall, made of black granite, bears over 58,000 names of soldiers who either died or went missing during the war. Despite initial controversy over its design, it has become a place for healing and remembrance.
This beautiful and hunting reminder of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the face of evil. This monument is just a small thank you to all of the brave men, and women never came back home. I highly recommend visiting and paying a little respect.
Jason R — Google review
It's interesting to read that this memorial was designed after a "healing wound." I think the architect did a good job at bringing that vision to reality. After taking in the Lincoln Memorial, we headed back east and came upon the site which is just off the north side of the Pool. The arrow-shaped memorial wall of smooth, dark, reflective gabbro rock starts at ground level then slopes ever so gently into the earth until its midpoint, where it then gradually rises back up to ground level, with a ton of names engraved along the way. A memorial directory is posted nearby to aide in finding names. Look for a small podium near the entrances/exits. Simple, striking, and beautiful.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. is one of the most visited and moving monuments in the United States, honoring those who served in the Vietnam War. It is located at National Mall, near the Lincoln Memorial, dedicated in November 13, 1982. It was designed by Maya Lin, a 21-year-old architecture student at Yale, it was controversy at the beginning, but became iconic. It honors members of the U.S. armed forces who fought in the Vietnam War, those who died in service, and those missing in action (MIA). The two black granite walls, each 246 feet 9 inches long, set in a V-shape, engraved with the names of over 58,000 servicemen and women who died or went missing. The Three Servicemen Statue – A bronze statue by Frederick Hart depicting three soldiers, added in 1984 to complement the Wall. The Vietnam Women’s Memorial – Dedicated in 1993, honoring women (many nurses) who served. The Wall’s shape points toward the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, linking it to the nation’s history. It's an open air Memorial, you can visit any time.

I found this memorial to be really cool on the evening that I went because they were doing an orange light awareness activity with lots of candles. I also really enjoy how you can see your image reflected in this memorial. If you are by the Lincoln memorial feel free to stop by this one as well!

There was a quiet reverence while walking through this area, it was deeply appreciated. I was there to find a name for my friend; her husband passed in Viet Nam. The volunteers were helpful and offered historical documentation about the Wall.

Years ago I watched a movie called In Country about a young girl searching for information about her father, who was killed in the Vietnam War. I recall the movie as being average at best, but in the final scene, they film real people at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. It was so moving and difficult to watch I had tears flowing and could not stop. I could also hear several other people in the audience with the same reaction and when the show ended, I just stayed seated for the longest time and thankfully, my wife quietly sat there with me. Just to be clear, I’m too young to have fought in Vietnam but for some reason, it’s something that has been a part of my life since I was a kid. And so when I finally got to visit this amazing place after all these years, I took plenty of time to take it all in. This is a beautiful monument and it’s definitely worth seeing but at the same time, it was so jarring to see how amazing the monument to the Korean War and WWII were. Maybe take the time and visit all three. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate

The National Museum of African American History and Culture is a popular Smithsonian museum featuring unique exhibits that delve into the history, culture, and community of African Americans. The museum's collection offers a rich portrayal of the African American experience, spanning from slavery through significant historical periods such as the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the Civil Rights Movement. Visitors can explore fascinating artifacts like a toy wooden crib crafted by an enslaved mother and a lace shawl gifted to Harriet Tubman by Queen Victoria.
Reserve tickets ahead of time. We got in rather quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. The museum was very thoughtfully laid out and incredibly moving! We spent about 4.5 hours but could have taken longer. Even our 7 year old was engaged and taking time to read the plaques on each item. What an honor to be there. My grandfather (John M Johnson) was a contributor to the museum and it was so cool seeing his name on display as well. Would love to return!

This museum is AMAZING!! I didn't get to view the entire museum due to time but I STRONGLY recommend you visit if you want to know anything about Black History! There are lots of exhibits, artifacts, and real people giving their own words and feelings via videos you can listen to. There is lots of information some you may not even know, heard about or learned. The museum has a cafeteria you can buy for and sit and eat,( I had the spiced lamb and it was delicious). I will definitely be returning and making a day just to visit the museum in it's entirety. There was a group of high school kids visiting and it was great seeing and hearing them in awe of what is not taught in school about this part of American history because Black History is American history! If ever in Washington DC I highly recommend you visit and bring the kids!

Such a wonderfully cultivated museum with such great detail. The knowledge of the docents was spectacular. I felt engaged and grew the desire to read more. The greeter were extremely pleasant and helpful. I'm just sorry I missed eating there. I hear the food is awesome. However, I deeply explored the exhibits that I literally forgot to eat in the 6 hours I was there... and still didn't get it all in. The reflection waterfall was a nice way decompress and process.

Beautiful, both inside and out! Most memorable part of my trip was visiting this museum. Learned so much. A must see while in DC. Entry was seamless & securing tickets in advance was very simple, not to mention free! But please don’t forget to donate. Highly recommend.

Filled with so much information and laid out amazingly. So many artifacts filled with incredible history. If you are anything like me and like to read EVERY picture and plaque, you will easily need about 6-7 hours to fully immerse yourself in the entire museum. I spent about 3 hours and only made it 1.5 floors.

From the history to the art this place is beautiful. My partner and I’s first time here and it truly is a wonderful museum to visit. It truly takes you back in time and gives so much history detail on so many different topics. From the art to the famous items displayed, couldn’t recommend anymore. Can be a bit difficult to move around at some parts but all depends on what day you go and how busy it is.

Love love love this place!! I've been here many times but my first with grandson #2. He's a history buff at 10 and he loved every step. We were there from open to close. I had to persuade him to eat. He was happy to eat spicy macaroni and cheese. We'll be making 1 more visit before heading back to Chicago.

My first visit. It was historic. There is so much history from all over the country. There was so much detail and so many stories told. I was sad, angry, heartbroken and happy and nostalgic. I grew up in the South Bronx during the 70s and 80s and witnessed the birth of hip hop. It was captured so well. It would be a shame if they changed anything.

The US Marine Corps War Memorial, located in Arlington County, Virginia near the Arlington National Cemetery, pays tribute to the Marines who sacrificed their lives in all wars. The memorial features a 60-foot bronze flagpole with figures depicting the iconic moment of raising the American flag on Iwo Jima during World War II. This historical site commemorates significant Marine Corps battles and is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Designed by Horace W.
I uploaded many pictures that were captured in Arlington Virginia and in the DC area. I don't recall which memorial or site each picture was at so I just uploaded many of the memorial pictures that I found.. after 4 days of walking and sightseeing I realize many of the sites are free and there was so much places to go I needed more time.. The Cherry blossom season was just beginning and I wish I was able to stay here another week to see all the festivals that will be happening.

When in DC, make sure to get away from the National Mall and across the Potomac. Closest metro stop is Rosslyn and then a short walk to the memorial. If driving, limited parking is available on site. This memorial is larger than life and strikes a feeling of patriotism seeing the pride our soldiers have had throughout major conflicts and war zones.

The U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial is a truly awesome monument to visit in the D.C. area. I have especially fond memories here, being a Marine, as I accepted my warrant and commission here, I have run through the monuments for fun, and I finished the 50th Marine Corps Marathon here. The monument is so inspirational and is a testament to the might of Our Great Nation. It stands as a remembrance for those Marines and Sailors that drove with steadfast perseverance and gave the ultimate sacrifice during World War II for the love and prosperity of The People of Our Great Nation. What’s more is that this memorial stands for all members of the Armed Forces past, present, and future. Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, and now Guardians alike, the spirit and countryman-ship of all can be both felt and celebrated here at the Marine Corps War Memorial. I absolutely love visiting D.C., it is truly a treat for me. I do not really care for some of the attitudes of people who reside here, or the crazy people on the roadways, but away from that, D.C. embodies some of the richest and most rewarding aspects of our historical American culture. I highly recommend and encourage all of go can to visit this and all the other memorials, monuments, and historic structures in the National Capitol Region.

The final resting place of President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963, is marked by an Eternal Flame at Arlington National Cemetery. The site was initially located elsewhere in the cemetery before a new burial ground was built for him in 1967 to accommodate visitors paying respect. The idea for the flame came from Jacqueline Kennedy, his wife and First Lady. Millions of people visit this monument every year to honor and remember one of the most beloved presidents in American history.
The John F. Kennedy Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery is a peaceful and meaningful place to visit. The Eternal Flame, burning beside his gravesite, is a powerful reminder of the impact JFK had on the country. The setting is beautiful, with a quiet atmosphere and a great view of Washington, D.C. Nearby, you’ll find quotes from some of his most inspiring speeches. It’s a simple, respectful tribute that really makes you pause and reflect. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and interested in American history.

„An eternal flame, quietly defiant—just like the man.“ Perched on the slopes of Arlington, JFK’s resting place is both modest and monumental. The eternal flame flickers with quiet intensity, surrounded by simple stone and the weight of a nation’s unspoken “what if.” There’s no need for grand speeches here—the view over Washington, the carved quotes from his inaugural address, and the presence of his family say everything. It’s a place of reflection, where even time seems to slow in respect. Whether you’re a history buff, a dreamer, or just someone who admires courage—you’ll feel it here. Not loud. Not flashy. Just powerful. Don’t miss: The perfect alignment with the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol in the distance. History has a way of drawing lines—sometimes in stone.

It's personal. It's also a family burial spot so it's to be treated with respect. It's also a part of history. Many of us can remember when it happened. I was 7 years old and I can recall the feeling of dread and being fearful for the future. I guess it just shows that life goes on. Although it makes us wonder how this country and the world would have benefited if Kennedy had survived.

Arlington National Cemetery was a very beautiful and peaceful place. The JFK burial site and eternal flame was so serene and lovely. It was very quiet except for the birds’ welcoming chirps. If you would prefer to ride there are special tours available for all budgets.Parking is very reasonable at $3 an hour.

A powerful, humbling place to visit. The JFK gravesite and eternal flame are simple but deeply moving. The view overlooking Washington, D.C. is incredible, and the words from his speeches remind you why so many still admire him. It’s easy to find within the cemetery, and well worth the walk. Quiet, reflective, and a must-see if you’re visiting Arlington. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes—there’s a lot of walking here.

Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA is a vast military cemetery that holds great historical significance. It features the eternal flame at JFK's gravesite, the Memorial Amphitheater, and the Tomb of the Unknowns. The cemetery serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals in service to their nation. Visitors can also explore other notable attractions in Washington, DC such as the White House, Smithsonian Museums, National Archives, and National Zoo.
No single quote encapsulates the beauty of Arlington better than JFK's "This is one of the really beautiful places on earth. I could stay here forever." The cemetery is truly remarkable and is a must see if you visit DC. The highlights of course are the JFK gravesite and the tomb of the unknown soldier, but spend some time soaking exploring and remembering those who died for this country.

Absolutely amazing experience! Used the old town trolly tram tour for Arlington cemetery and it was definitely worth it to get the history and location of key figures. The children (12&7) enjoyed the interaction with the tour guide and seeing the traditions. Changing of the guard was a must see and experience. The property is obviously well maintained and cared for.

Visiting Arlington National Cemetery is a deeply humbling experience — a place where silence speaks of courage, sacrifice, and honor. May we carry their legacy forward with gratitude and peace.

We only got off on a 2 stops and still saw plenty. Witnessed 2 wreath ceremonies at 12pm - the whole Guard Change was about 15 minutes. They are currently expanding the grounds to allow them more room for burials through 2050/2060. Tram narrator (Charles) was full of information. Tram is open air so when it is cold you will feel the cold air! *Military Pricing for thr Cemetery Tram rides is $10pp up to 4 people I believe.*

The highlight of our trip. Wish we had more time to spend here. You really need several hours. The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is an absolute must!
David W — Google review
With the smithsonian closed our family decided to give it a try. It turned out to be the most memorable experience in DC for my parents. The tram was hop on hop off style, all the staff were helpful, polite and informative. The tour guides on the trams we're very informative energetic and nice. One house/or museum was not open but the entire experience was still pleasant because most monuments were outside. The most special was changing of the guards ceremony. At the end of the tour they handed out red poppy for all of us. Parking was 3$ an hour.

Mexican restaurant
District Taco is a popular mexican restaurant with roots in Yucatan that focuses on delivering quality food at reasonable prices. The modern decor and exposed ventilation are deceptive, as the restaurant's focus is on providing delicious Mexican food. Various tacos, burritos, and other dishes are available throughout the day, and the restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
30Apr.2021 My lover and I had a wonderful lunch here today. The cashier/food preparer was polite and patient. Food prepared fresh at time of purchase. My Carne Asada taco’s were great. Flavorful moist steak. The chicken quesadillas my lover had was superb. Atmosphere was laid back and a bit loud from the cooling system. Nothing major. The music was pretty up beat. Nice and clean in there. I didn’t see any way a wheelchair was accessible. Just because it’s the city, there should be access’ for handicap as well.
Spiral T — Google review
Order on screens or with their very friendly staff. Build your perfect lunch. Plenty of choices and you can dine in or take out. Food was fresh and good. The drink machine at this location is broken, so only bottled drinks. Prices are typical.
Kimberly S — Google review
Lunch on Saturday. Place was empty. Self ordering kiosk is good for people who know what they want. Otherwise, you'll need to page through and figure it out. They do ask for dietary restrictions on the order which was nice. I ordered a chicken bowl with guacamole and sour cream. To be honest, it was just okay and kinda lifeless. No real flavor and felt bland. I thought Chipotle tasted better. My friend got nachos and those were much much better! The chips really helped add to the flavor and texture of the dish. I would have preferred that to what I ordered. Dining area was clean but not very warm and inviting. In conclusion, if you go - your experience may vary based on what you order. I would go back for the nachos though!

We ordered a bowl and burrito. We ordered guacamole on the burrito and paid almost $3 extra for it. We took our food home and there was no guacamole in the burrito. The prices were crazy already (no drinks and $30+), but the omission of the $3 add-on makes us less likely to return in the future.
Jessica W — Google review
The food tastes great but for $20 they only filled the burrito bowl to halfway. It wouldn't have cost them nothing to add a little bit more lettuce. If I order a burrito bowI kind of want the whole bowl to be full....Not halfway like the picture. Fun atmosphere, but won't come back since you get so little for what you pay for.
Katie E — Google review
Excellent burrito bowl. Actively cleaned during my visit. Older decor. Very quick service. Quite tasty, and seemingly very healthy - no grease/fat. Moderate price. Would certainly return.
D. M — Google review
The food was good and price was crazy high. We ordered for our daughters and my wife. I got a coffee and had a couple of bits from their orders. We enjoyed the place. It was nice and clean with good music playing. I went to wash my hands after, but there as no soap in the bathroom, and I let the staff know, and washed my hands in another restroom.

I haven’t been to District Taco in a while and this was the first time I’ve been to this location, but honestly I had a very positive experience. The food was good, the service was good and the electronic ordering kiosks were very intuitive and user friendly. Definitely recommend checking this out if you can somehow find parking or can get there on foot.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Quarterdeck is a long-standing neighborhood seafood restaurant in Virginia that offers casual menus and all-you-can-eat crab feasts. The restaurant is known for its laid back atmosphere and friendly service, as well as its seasonal menu of seafood classics. Highlights include Chesapeake Crab Soup, Steamed Blue Crabs, Peel and Eat Shrimp, and Crab Hush Puppies.
Great crab house experience! Paper table cover. Mallets. Old bay. Crabs. Just perfect. Fantastic place for classic Maryland crab summer outing. Service was super friendly. Food was excellent. Lots of seating inside and a large patio outside with fans. Large crabs were excellent size, didn’t feel need for XL. Peel n eat shrimp and hush puppies were very tasty appetizers while we waited for crabs. Recommend reservations for weekend. Overall great experience. Highly recommend!
Andre A — Google review
4 stars for 4 reasons 1. The crab dip was delicious! Big chunks of crab and its creamy! I normally don’t do crab but this is tolerable. Crabs were fresh, meaty, briny and sweet. Crab legs were good and fresh! A bit salty but it’s good. Nachos were good and fresh! Chips are crispy! Fried oysters were super fresh and crispy! Grilled Mesquite Shrimps were nice a BIG! so good! Frozen daiquiri was really really good. Crispy chicken was crispy and good. 2. The quality and freshness is on point! Everything came out hot and fresh! 3. Price is UNBELIEVABLE and UNBEATABLE! A lot of food for the price! Good size and quantity. 4. Customer service was great! She was attentive and made sure we had enough melted butter and lemons! Topped off water as well. They made sure we sat outside next to our scooters! Accommodating! Minus 1 star because the cheese and steak wasn’t really good to be honest and there wasn’t a lot of meat on it; more bread than meat. Some of the crab legs were a bit salty but still tasted yummy. The crispy chicken sandwich I wish had mayo or some kind of condiment on it.
T B — Google review
The food is good, prices were not bad and I'd say it's a solid seafood place to enjoy a nice afternoon. Nestled in a small neighborhood in Rosslyn the restaurant feels very homey with everyone consolidated to the patio area and also plenty of seating indoors. Although we did not have a reservation we did have an opportunity to be seated and enjoy our meal. Staff was kind and friendly and food came fast hot warm and delicious. Would give it a chance and try out the happy hour.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful experience at Quarterdeck Restaurant! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us by providing an extra outdoor table so our whole party could sit together. Everyone was so kind, professional, and attentive — they truly made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was outstanding. If we could rate it a 10/10, we absolutely would! Highly recommend Quarterdeck for anyone looking for great food and genuine hospitality.
Key S — Google review
My team came here for a staff social outing. It was hot but their outside area has fans and is under awnings. They were super accommodating for all our requests and kept the food flowing. The oysters and shrimps were amazing! My coworkers had fun eating the crabs. I got a non alcoholic frozen lemonade which was perfect on a hot day. Highly recommend for a fun dining experience!
Rosie H — Google review
A hidden gem in a city of thieves. Quarterdeck delivers a great seafood experience focusing on blue crabs, snow crabs, oysters and classic pub fare. The staff was welcoming from the start. We had a short wait for a group of 10. There is a small bar area that was very accommodating with a friendly bartender ready to serve. All of the seafood was hot, delicious and served with enough side butter to clog the arteries of a moose. Great experience - 5 star.
Michael C — Google review
They did not have jumbo crabs, but we were very satisfied with the XL size—plump, flavorful, and clearly in season. You just can’t get crabs like that in New York, which is why we always make sure to enjoy their large male crabs when we’re here. The seasoning was spot-on. We also had fried oysters, onion rings, and corn—everything was delicious. They accept both cash and credit cards. Do note that if your bill is over $100, a 20% gratuity is automatically added. There are only two restrooms—one for men and one for women. While the space is ample, it can get crowded quickly, especially during peak hours. We highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to come for dinner.
King A — Google review
We absolutely loved our experience there today! Service was exceptional. I made a reservation or so I thought or Swey! for tomorrow the hostess help me in accommodated me by getting us inside. It was so worth it. I ordered the hush puppies crabcake and shrimp and corn on the cob and everything was truly flavorful fresh and delicious. I also started off with a salad which was fresh and I love how they had the old base seasoning on the table. We put on the salad and added such a nice flavor pop! Enjoyed everything and we would definitely recommend this place!

Fast food restaurant
Five Guys is a popular fast-food chain known for its made-to-order burgers, fries, and hot dogs. Since opening their first store in 1986 in Alexandria, Virginia, the franchise has gained a strong following for its commitment to using fresh ingredients. With a simple menu featuring hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and bacon cheeseburgers served with boardwalk-style fries, customers can choose from single or double patties and customize their toppings.
These cats run a tight ship. The burgers slap, they were playing Earth, Wind, & Fire, and the people behind the counter were very courteous. All you can ask for in a late night joint.
Michela D — Google review
You will always be comparing flavors in the US, but let me tell you sth, this place provides the best burguer taste and fries portion ever.
Sebastian A — Google review
This location is kind of far from the hotels but it's walkable about 10 minutes depending on what hotel you stay at. The inside clean and the staff members are not overly friendly but they have good customer service. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because the fries were overly salty and overcooked. But I got a hamburger and hot dog and they're both delicious.
Andrew ( — Google review
We were visiting Washington, DC, and decided to stop at this Five Guys. As always, the burgers were tasty and up to the usual standard. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the condition of the restaurant and the staff’s attitude. The dining area was noticeably dirty, and the employees were so rude that we felt uncomfortable just being there. It almost seemed like serving us was a burden rather than their job. There were only two parties in the restaurant—us and one other customer—so it wasn’t a matter of being busy. I was polite when speaking with the staff, but it made no difference. To make matters worse, when I asked for the restroom code (which should have been printed on my receipt but wasn’t), the staff member acted annoyed, as if I was out of line for even asking. Overall, the food was good, but the service and cleanliness at this location were very disappointing.
Lucas S — Google review
Good burgers. I had the bacon cheese dog. It was okay. I would not try it again. My wife and kids had burgers. Everyone said their burgers were good. Their fries are amazing. A large is huge! We tried to save a little on drinks. The water cups are laughable. It's hot outside. It's really no different than David's burgers. Nothing to bring me back.
Jonathan M — Google review
Food was good. Clean atmosphere and not much crowded. Digital soft drink vending machines with plenty of beverages options. Central location in the Washington DC. Spacious seating area
Care C — Google review
This place was dirty and the service was rude and dismissive. The food was good so if you like five guys and don’t mind being treated poorly and eating on dirty tables then this place is great. Was also in a convenient location.
Alicia S — Google review
While Five Guys is known for its fresh ingredients and generous portions, the presentation leaves something to be desired. Serving the burger wrapped only in aluminum foil doesn’t match the premium price point or overall experience one might expect. As for the burger itself, it was decent but overpowered by too much sauce and excessive salt, which destroys the flavor of the meat. A bit more balance in seasoning and presentation would go a long way.

American restaurant
Green Pig Bistro, led by Chef Scot Harlan's nose-to-tail ethos, serves up a fusion of American-French cuisine in a modern and quirky setting. Since Chef Tracy O'Grady revamped the menu in 2020, the restaurant now offers an array of brunch options including stuffed waffles with savory and sweet fillings. Despite the new additions, beloved dishes like fried chicken and shrimp and grits remain on the menu.
What a great find! The menu was full of mouthwatering comfort food options, hard to pick just one, especially, so delicious. Great service from Megan, lovely ambience, and desserts all made in-house, yum! We will definitely be back.

I had a great experience at Green Pig Bistro! We came in for breakfast and I ordered the American platter — everything on the plate tasted super fresh and well-seasoned. I usually don’t go for grits, but I decided to try them here and I was pleasantly surprised — they were creamy, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. The service was excellent too — friendly and attentive without being overbearing. My boyfriend got a burger (he’s usually very picky when we go out), but he really enjoyed it, which says a lot. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Fantastic service and great food! We got buffalo pork belly bites, shrimp, the veggie plate and the ribs: everything was super tasty and served quickly. In fact, the ribs were so good, my friend took two more orders of those because she just couldn’t get enough. The waiter serving us was polite, very helpful and super friendly. Ten out of ten, highly recommend.

Super cute restaurant. We stopped in for a quick bit to eat. Had salads and the buffalo baby back ribs which were delicious. The Greek salad had an LOT of peppers and overwhelmed the salad a little. Our server was very attentive and made our experience great!! Would totally come back.

We came for happy hour and everything was phenomenal. Blair is an incredible and awesome bartender. He recommended us to order the fried shrimp and chorizo&smoked gouda fritters. Both were so crispy and delicious. I would definitely come back for happy hour!

5 Stars – Absolutely Outstanding Experience at Green Pig Restaurant! We had an incredible dining experience at Green Pig Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, everything exceeded our expectations. The appetizers were absolutely phenomenal — the BBQ ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the chorizo fritters packed a flavorful punch, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, the pork belly was rich and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the pineapple cocktail was the perfect tropical touch to round everything out. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. A huge shoutout to Blair, who was not only our bartender but also our waiter. He was exceptional — attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel completely taken care of. We honestly couldn’t have asked for better service. Green Pig is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for amazing food and top-notch hospitality!

Green Pig Bistro never disappoints! The food is rich, creative, and just so satisfying — their short rib and pork belly dishes are to die for. The vibe is rustic but stylish, and it’s always buzzing without feeling too loud. Cocktails are great, service is warm, and it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to linger over dessert and another drink. Love this place for date nights or girls’ dinners! 💕

The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is a fascinating destination that delves into the history of aviation and space exploration. The museum showcases an array of vehicles and artifacts, including the original Wright 1903 Flyer, the 'Spirit of St. Louis,' and the Apollo 11 command module.
This museum is absolutely incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The exhibits about space, particularly the Apollo 11 exhibit, were truly awesome. The Wright Brothers exhibit was incredibly inspiring, and the sheer number of gadgets, artifacts, and planes on display was mind-blowing. When we visited, a significant portion of the museum was closed due to ongoing renovations for new exhibits. However, the overall experience was still enjoyable. I can’t wait to be back to explore the rest of the museum. The gift shop is enormous and offers a wide range of fascinating items for space enthusiasts. While tickets are free, I highly recommend purchasing them in advance, but be aware that you’ll have to wait in line until your time slot. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit!

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum is an absolute must-visit in DC and it is free. The exhibits are incredible and there’s something for everyone, whether you’re into aviation history, space exploration, or just want to see real rockets, moon landers, and fighter jets up close. I loved how interactive and well-organized everything was. You can walk through the history of flight, see the Wright brothers’ early work, touch a piece of the moon, and check out modern NASA missions all in one place. The curation is top-notch and every display is thoughtfully done. Check out the IMAX theater inside. They play some really great 3D movies that are worth the experience, especially if you’re into space documentaries or science films. It adds a whole new layer to your visit. It can get a little crowded, especially on weekends, but totally worth it. Staff is friendly and the space is big enough to move around easily. Easily one of the highlights of my DC trip. Would go back to catch more shows and explore the rest.

Wow! What an amazing museum!!! We’ve visited it a few times over the years. Our whole family has always enjoyed it at all ages, little kids, teenagers, and adults alike. There’s hands-on activities for younger kids, and informative displays for adults. We watched a film display and the toddlers next to us found it just as engaging as we did. This museum really is truly great for all ages, and we have found it fascinating after each new visit. We spent 3 hours here, and didn’t even see every display. There’s so much to do and to look at. The staff were so friendly and well-informed. We really enjoyed chatting with them. I’m so happy that we were able to visit. My one piece of advice is to book the free timed-entry tickets as far in advance as possible so that you get the chance to enjoy this amazing experience!

The National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC is one of the most inspiring and fascinating places I have ever visited. From the moment you step inside you can feel the excitement of human achievement and discovery. The museum captures the full story of flight and space exploration in a way that is both educational and deeply moving. Every exhibit is designed with care and attention to detail making it easy to understand how far we have come in just a little over a century of aviation. One of the most impressive parts of the museum is the collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft. Seeing the Wright brothers’ first flyer up close is an unforgettable experience. The Apollo 11 command module is another highlight that truly makes you appreciate the courage and vision of the astronauts who first set foot on the Moon. The exhibits on modern space missions and the future of exploration are equally inspiring and show how innovation continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. The museum is beautifully organized and free to enter which makes it accessible to everyone. The staff are friendly and always ready to answer questions. Whether you are a space enthusiast or simply curious about science and technology this museum will leave you feeling amazed and inspired. It is a place that celebrates human imagination and determination and it is absolutely worth visiting.

A Must-See Destination for Aviation Lovers! ✈️ I traveled all the way to Washington, D.C. specifically to visit the National Air and Space Museum, and it was absolutely worth the trip. The reputation of this museum is well-deserved, and it's a true treasure trove for anyone interested in aviation and space exploration. I spent a few captivating hours in the Wright brothers exhibit, and it was truly the highlight of my visit. Standing in front of the original 1903 Wright Flyer was a surreal experience. It’s one thing to read about it in a history book, but it's another to see the machine that changed the world in person. The exhibit does a wonderful job of telling their story, from their early experiments to their momentous first flight. It was an incredibly interesting and awe-inspiring look at the dawn of aviation. Beyond that, the museum is filled with iconic artifacts that tell the story of human ingenuity. Seeing everything from the Spirit of St. Louis to the Apollo 11 command module, you can't help but feel a sense of wonder. The entire museum is meticulously curated and offers something for everyone, whether you're a serious history buff or a casual visitor. I highly recommend planning a full day here, as there is so much to see. It's an unforgettable experience and a true testament to human achievement.

National Air and Space Museum – 5★ Google Review (200+ words) The National Air and Space Museum is easily one of the most fascinating and inspiring museums in Washington, D.C. Whether you’re a history buff, a science enthusiast, or simply curious about the story of human flight, this museum never disappoints. The exhibits are masterfully curated, tracing the incredible journey from the Wright brothers’ first flight to the modern age of space exploration. Seeing iconic artifacts like the Apollo 11 command module, the Spirit of St. Louis, and the lunar lander replica up close is nothing short of breathtaking. What makes the museum truly special is its ability to engage visitors of all ages. Interactive displays, flight simulators, and multimedia presentations make complex scientific ideas both accessible and exciting. Children are visibly captivated, while adults often find themselves lingering in awe at the depth of human innovation represented in every gallery. The recent renovations have added a fresh, modern touch, with improved lighting, clear signage, and new exhibits that blend technology and storytelling beautifully. The staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about aviation history. Combined with free admission and a prime location on the National Mall, the National Air and Space Museum is a must-visit for anyone coming to D.C. It’s not just a museum — it’s a celebration of human imagination, courage, and discovery.

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles Airport is an absolute must-see for aviation and space lovers. The hangar-style museum is massive, with an incredible collection of aircraft and spacecraft. Highlights include the Space Shuttle Discovery, the Concorde, the SR-71 Blackbird, and so many military and civilian aircraft. It’s fascinating for both kids and adults. Time Needed: At least 3–4 hours if you want to walk through at a good pace, but you could easily spend the whole day if you’re really into aviation. Parking: There is a large parking lot available right at the museum ($15 per vehicle). Parking is easy and convenient compared to the downtown DC museums. Food: There’s a Shake Shack inside the museum with burgers, fries, and shakes, which is great for a meal break. Otherwise, there aren’t too many food options nearby, so eating there is the easiest. Overall, this museum is huge, easy to access with ample parking, and full of jaw-dropping aviation and space history. Perfect for families, tourists, or anyone with even a little curiosity about flying.

Seeing the original spacecraft, jets, and satellites up close was truly awe-inspiring. The museum staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the experience even more engaging. It’s the perfect place for both adults and children to learn, dream, and be inspired by human ingenuity and discovery. I left feeling amazed and deeply grateful for the opportunity to explore such a world-class museum.

The National Portrait Gallery is a must-visit destination in Washington, D.C., where art and history intertwine beautifully. This remarkable museum showcases an extensive collection of portraits that celebrate influential figures who have shaped America, from politicians to artists and activists. Housed within a stunning Greek Revival building shared with the Smithsonian American Art Museum, it offers visitors a chance to explore over a dozen exhibits featuring everything from captivating photographs of Presidents in action to striking paintings of Supreme Court justices.
The National Portrait Gallery is one of D.C.’s cultural gems — bold, inspiring, and free to enter 🏛️✨. From the iconic Presidential portraits (yes, including Obama’s 🌸) to striking contemporary works, it’s where history, art, and storytelling collide. The building itself is stunning, with soaring halls and quiet corners perfect for reflection. Whether you’re into politics, pop culture, or just want to see faces that shaped America, this gallery delivers an unforgettable experience in the heart of the capital 🇺🇸🎨.

It's a nice collection of art objects for those who are in love with American history. What is especially good is that they write some stories next to objects, so, it becomes like reading a collection of interesting stories about the people who you see in the paintings. You may not spend there more than two-three hours, but those hours will be in a company of remarkable people looking at you from the past.

The National Portrait Gallery is one of the most fascinating museums in Washington, D.C. It perfectly blends art, history, and storytelling — each portrait brings to life the people who shaped America’s past and present. The collection is incredibly diverse, from presidents and civil rights leaders to artists, athletes, and cultural icons. The Presidential Portraits Hall is a highlight — seeing the portraits of all U.S. presidents, especially the striking ones of Obama, Lincoln, and Kennedy, is unforgettable. The museum itself is beautifully designed, with a stunning glass-covered courtyard where you can relax between exhibits. Entry is free, the staff are welcoming, and the space is calm and inspiring. Whether you love history, art, or photography, this gallery is an absolute must-visit in D.C.

I stumbled across this gallery and I’m so glad I did. The art installations on display are so varied. The place is fairly big and houses some beautiful and interesting pieces of art. There are several rooms to visit, each with its own unique design and theme. I was really impressed. Free to visit.

We were fortunate to catch this open on its last day before the government shut down. If you’re coming to Washington DC, it is an absolute must visit. There are so many amazing and historic paintings here with scattered sculptures in here and there. Some of them are one of a kind as in the cracked plate, Lincoln photograph. Additionally the center courtyard with its wave like steel and glass ceiling is a beautiful experience. It’s also one of the largest covered courtyards in all of DC.
Mark B — Google review
The National Portrait Gallery was overall a great experience, but I recommend going in with a plan. There are so many portraits, and it can feel a little repetitive unless you know what you'd like to see and why. I visited the gallery specifically to view the Presidential portraits, and for those portraits alone, and if you are interested in that sort of thing, it was well worth the visit. There are different rooms dedicated to different time periods of American history, as well as difference causes. The gallery was very well kept, and there were restrooms inside of the building on all floors. There is also this really lovely indoor/outdoor seating, cafe area that I recommend relaxing in; the natural light, coupled with the beautiful ceiling windows made it such a nice place to rest in between viewing all the portraits. Also, this gallery is free to visit and is one of the museums that closes later in the day on weekends so if you're in D.C. and need something to do in the evening, I would recommend checking it out.

Gallery Place is a bustling complex in Washington D.C. that has been around since 1976. It's not just a mall, but also a popular spot due to its proximity to the Capital One Arena and the nearby stadiums. The area offers an array of national retailers, dining options, a movie theater, and even a bowling alley for visitors to enjoy.
Wonderful gift shop. Prices are in reasonable price. Books, Toat Bags, Coffee cups, managnet's, Hot-Cold cups, book marks and other nice souvenirs and buy.

Are you people going into a wormhole and being transported to someplace that doesn’t exist. These reviews do not reflect the Gallery Place I visited. THERES NOTHING HERE??? The “mall” is a big empty room with three floors of gated off emptiness and a movie theatre. The bowling alley is closed down, can’t even peek through the glass. I say don’t waste your time but if you wanna be scared out of your wits go ahead and walk the street. Good luck!

Gallery Place Shopping Centre is a vibrant and modern spot for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The variety of stores is impressive — from trendy fashion outlets to unique local shops. The food court offers plenty of choices, and the atmosphere is lively without feeling too crowded. I especially liked how clean and well-maintained the place is. It’s a perfect weekend hangout spot with friends or family. The nearby cinema is a great bonus too. Definitely worth visiting.

Nice options. Tesla dealer nearby. 2 or 3 good Chinese restaurants. One sit-down Cuban restaurant may or may not be overpriced. Chinese Friendship archway sets the tone. And the Caps play at the arena. GP metro is sketchy, so stay alert.

Big place for meeting in advance for the big events at the convention centre. There is also a cinema and a few restaurants, Mc Donald‘s left the place.

The Christmas decorations are really nice however all the stores are rich people stuff. If you have money to burn on stuff like this then it’s right up your alley… LITERALLY! But if not, based on the Christmas decorations and pictures I have seen I would only recommend coming down here to see how they decorate for different seasons.

This area is a new gem next to the port and lots lots of restaurants and many visitors. If you have a flexible-schedule afternoon, please come enjoying the urban atmosphere and bay-sighted views. My big surprise was the seafood at the very end road, many steamed/cooked or raw seafood, you can eat there or to go, the price is for sure satisfying everyone 😁 I ordered jumbo shrimps and two soups back to hotel, oh man~ that was really a good dinner !

Ramen restaurant
DAIKAYA is a Japanese noodle soup spot located behind the Gallery Place movie theater. The casual and funky atmosphere with yellow and blue walls creates a unique dining experience. The upstairs izakaya offers inventive drinks and surprising small plates, including burrata salad and Old Bay seasoning. Known for its Sapporo-style ramen, DAIKAYA takes authenticity seriously by importing noodles from Japan and crafting nuanced Chintan stock that takes over 16 hours to make.
The food was absolutely delicious! The bean sprouts cooked with the meat is genius! I enjoyed it so much! And the open kitchen concept to watch how your food is prepared made it all taste better in a weird way. I will recommend and to this place without a doubt. Everything was on point. Lovely keep it up!

Daikaya Ramen Shop was a cool spot to go to for a short weekend trip. I was told this was the place to go and one of the best ramen places to must try when exploring Washington, DC. I had the Shio ramen. I wanted to give it a try especially because the broth is prepped for many hours and once served, it is as delicious with all ingredients. The ramen was fresh amd soft, it was my first time tasting Brussels sprouts in ramen and I didn't mind it at all. We ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer. It was served with a habanero sauce on the side. Diving into our ramen and getting full from other, I almost forgot to try the spring rolls. The restaurant was small, spacious enough for small groups or options to sit across the table with other customers. The way it us set up, it gives it a hip and savvy vibe. Our waitress was friendly too. Thank you for the delicious ramen and service. What a great ramen joint to try at our first DC place to eat.

Absolutely great ramen spot. Welcoming staff made us feel right at home—even with four kids in tow. Loved the cozy group table in the back and the fresh, modern vibe throughout. The broth was the star. We tried the shoyu, miso, and veggie tomato curry—all rich, flavorful, and totally hit the spot. The charsu and ground pork were top notch, the egg was perfect, and I loved the wok-charred onions and veggies in the veggie bowl. Imported noodles had that ideal texture and chew.
Brian S — Google review
Good ramen place near the concert stadium My friends and I went there an hour before the concert and it was pretty crowded (sunday). We didn't wait though. We got the big table inside. It was very eccentric with photos and designs on the wall. It could be a cozy place for couples to come. I had spicy miso which was pretty good. Not that spicy though but just enough to my liking. I want to try the cold noodle next time.
Hye L — Google review
Disappointed with my experience at Daikaya. Our host and waiter did not seem happy to be there and we were provided with the absolute bare minimum service. While I appreciate getting a pitcher of water for the table, this opens the door for your server to not check in with you at all during your meal. And yes our server just stopped by to take our order, drop food off, and give the check. I could barely them when they spoke to us and it set the tone for the meal I was about to receive. I ordered the shoyu ramen. Nothing remarkable about it. Broth was disappointingly bland and it seemed like there were more bean sprouts than noodles in my bowl. Could hardly taste the ground pork. The menu says all bowls of ramen come with chashu and ground pork, and the chashu was missing. It was a really disappointing bowl of ramen. I wanted to ask our server for some chili oil or some of the aromatic add-ons from the menu and about the missing chashu but since we were seated outside, that window of opportunity was limited. I’ll mention that the broth of the spicy miso was more flavorful and in hindsight should have ordered this one. I can’t comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant as we were outside and mostly listening to the sound of fire trucks and ambulances with their sirens zoom by. Very unlikely I’d recommend this place to a friend.

Had a good experience. The service was great. I especially loved the yuzu lemonade. We tried the spicy sesame noodles, which is a soupless-based cold noodles. First time having a cold noodle so it was new but it was good.

American restaurant
Nestled atop the DoubleTree by Hilton in Arlington, Virginia, Skydome Restaurant offers a truly unique dining experience that combines modern elegance with breathtaking views of the D.C. skyline. This revolving rooftop gem serves up delectable American cuisine, making it an ideal spot for romantic dinners or special celebrations. Picture yourself savoring a delightful three-course meal featuring options like succulent lobster rolls and grilled ribeye while enjoying cocktails against a stunning backdrop.
We had a wonderful experience overall. The service was truly exceptional — every member of the staff we interacted with was warm, attentive, and kind. The food was great as well. I personally had the crab sandwich, which was flavorful and very satisfying. The octopus dish we all shared was actually quite delicious — well-seasoned and tender. That said, a few of us felt a bit off the next day. We’re not entirely sure the octopus was the cause, but it was the only dish we all had in common. Could just be a coincidence, but worth mentioning gently. The setting is charming, with a touch of old-fashioned elegance. It may feel a bit dated in spots, but still retains a certain classy appeal. And the views are absolutely stunning — a perfect backdrop to a relaxing meal. We’d definitely return. The atmosphere, the flavors, and the service made it a memorable stop.

I went to Skydome for my birthday and overall had a good experience. The food was good and the atmosphere was amazing the views alone make it worth visiting. I also really appreciated that they validate parking, which is super convenient. The only downside for me was the service. I waited 10 minutes for my table even with my reservation. Also, I had a later reservation at 8:30, and maybe that played a part, but my server was pretty neglectful when I finally sat down . I had to keep waving her down just to get attention, which took away from the experience a bit. That said, I still really liked the place and would come back, especially for the atmosphere and the view.

This was my very first time dining at the Skydome and it certainly won’t be the last. It has the BEST panoramic views of the DC skyline. We had reservation and we were sat right down. The hostess and our server Adil provided excellent service. The cocktails along with the Brussels sprouts and their flat bread was delicious. Everything was cooked fresh and plated nicely. This place gives you an exceptional experience.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is spectacular. It takes roughly 45minutes for the restaurant to do a full rotation. You are able to see views from all around the location, including the monument, the airport, and the river, are just a few to name. I made a reservation for my friends birthday and their customer service was extremely accommodating. They brought out a dessert with candles without me even having to ask. Overall 5/5 star !

Came here the other day to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday with him, and it was a fantastic experience! We were seated early, the food was delicious, our waiter was kind and attentive, the views are amazing, and they even gave us a complimentary dessert with a candle in it to celebrate. Amazing dining experience and I hope to be back one day. Thank you!

Finally made it here after hearing about the amazing view sometime ago. The view is amazing!! Probably the best view of DC and the best view in the DMV. The pictures don’t do it justice. The food and cocktails were great but you definitely come here for the view. Can’t go wrong with the hummus and assorted bread. Perfect for a starter and was our fav. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the octopus but the Shrimp Paccheri Pasta and the Mushroom Bolognese Paccheri Pasta dishes were pretty good. We also enjoyed a view rounds of Margarita Royales. Service was a little slow at first but the restaurant spins and does a full rotation about every 47 minutes, so you can always put your order in and tell your waiter whatcha need when you circle back around lol. Just teasing but yeah you could. It’s a little pricey but again you are paying for the amazing view and experience. Absolutely worth it.
Giovanni M — Google review
The place was beautiful, the decor was simple but delightful. The food was a bit expensive, but it was delicious and with the staff, the atmosphere was complete. The staffs service was definitely worth of praise. The feeling of walking into a space ship that was converted into a restaurant, was otherworldly. The realization that it was still trying to take off, priceless. Also caused me to lose my dinner. Let me explain, the restaurant is shaped like an old school spaceship, you know, flying saucer, but this one has windows. Because of that, you may get a great view or be starting at the bar. Now to remedy this seating issue the restaurant decided to make the main dinning floor into a Lazy Susan, one that rotates at roughly 1 inch every 1.5-2 seconds. This is a great way to give everyone a chance to see all the views, but even while writing this I am still slightly reeling as I bring it back to mind. Definitely a memorable experience to say the least.

Overall a great restaurant! Wonderful view all the way around the restaurant. You don’t even realize that you are rotating. Only downfall… there was an issue with the air so it wasn’t cool in there but it was tolerable.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery is a notable marble monument commemorating an unidentified soldier who gave their life during World War I. It holds significant power as a representation of personal sacrifice and serves as a symbol for all soldiers who were not properly identified or given proper burials. Included in the stops at Arlington National Cemetery are the Kennedy gravesites, The Arlington House (Robert E.
There are moments when we slow down and the daily buzz of to do’s and life melt away and we are brought back to a place of humility and gratitude that cause us to reflect and consider what is really important. Visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, for me, on this warm June day, was one of these solemn times. The clack of the heels of the Old Guard and the exact and choreographed moves made commemorate the sacrifices made by our brave men and women of all of the armed services perfectly and in a manner that is uniquely American. This was something I have looked forward to for a long time and it was an absolute honor to have had the opportunity to visit this sacred temple.

Arlington Cemetery is an EMOTIONAL experience and WORTH VISITING! This was my second time visiting The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The first time was nearly 15 years ago whenever I was in high school, so I definitely had a greater appreciation for it this time. It's honestly hard to put into words. I cannot stress enough how important it is to visit if you are able to. It really puts things into perspective and makes you feel extremely proud to be an American. It was a moving experience. Everything is done in silence, so that's something to keep in mind if you are bringing kids with you. I think the changing of the guards happens either every hour on the hour or every 30 minutes depending on what time of year you go. We went in the fall. We didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked due to other conflicts and having to rearrange our schedule after finding out last minute we got accepted to tour the White House. You will likely want to spend at least several hours here! I think it closes early, too, so you want to plan ahead of that and make sure you're either going in the morning or early afternoon so you have plenty of time to see everything and walk around! You get to ride carts throughout Arlington Cemetery and they give you a tour as you go, so I would recommend opting for that if you can vs. just walking through the cemetery. This was one of our favorite aspects when visiting Washington D.C. and we would go again!
Kristin B — Google review
What can I say? This place is a must-see for all red blooded Americans. You will have all the feels. My eyes teared up as I watched the changing of the guard. Please be prepared to be silent and respectful. Don’t be the one who has to have the Park Ranger come over and ask you to be quiet. The entire Arlington National Cemetery is amazing….but, I swear it’s uphill both ways!! A lot of walking. If you have the time and cash, one of the tours in a trolley car might be worth it.
Matthew P — Google review
As many have said and will continue to say, this time honored tradition is a surreal experience to see in person. The honor and respect is palpable and really shows the camaraderie and dedication between service members for their fallen brothers/sisters. This is a must see for anyone curious.

Arlington National Cemetery and the changing of the guards at the Tomb of yhe Unknown Solider is a must see while visiting Washington, DC. The military precision during the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider is very impressive. Note: changing of the guards occurs at the top of each hour. You should allow plenty of time for this event and/or buy tickets for a tour. Comfortable shoes is a necessity.

We visited on a warm Sunday morning. Rode the metro to the Arlington Cemetary stop and then walked up to the cemetery visitor center. It was great. We then passed the WASP monument and walked to the Kennedy plot to see the eternal flame, stopped at the Washington house, and then headed to the Tomb of the unknown soldier. After that we walked out to the lesser crowded Columnbarium. That was really cool and somber to see. Overall a real nice reminder of the sacrifice(s) for freedom. Then rode the metro back.

Arlington House, also known as The Robert E. Lee Memorial, is a historic Greek Revival mansion located within Arlington National Cemetery on the banks of the Potomac River. Once the home of Robert E. Lee, it now serves as a museum showcasing artifacts and exhibits related to its rich history and its role in the Civil War. The estate and cemetery are final resting places for notable figures such as John F. Kennedy and Thurgood Marshall.
A truly beautiful place to take a picture. I could just imagine how pristine and calming the view was when the area wasn't developed and the European settlers just arrived. A very advantageous overlooking view. The house itself is a museum and they tell a good enough story. It is just a 15 minute walk from the entrance place so unless you really want to pay ~$20 for the trolley ride (45min, 3 stops Kennedy Grave -> Tomb of Unknown Soldier -> Arlington House) then I suggest you can walk it instead. Came on a Monday and there was a lot of people, especially school children on some sort of field trip.

It is open to the public and visitors are able to do a self guided tour. No admissions ticket is required. Currently maintained by the National Park Service, it is located in the U.S. Army's Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington County, Virginia The mansion is beautifully maintained with original paintings adorning the walls. There is also period furniture abd other artefacts throughout the home which has been beautifully maintained. There are also staff at the home who are very helpful in explaining the history of the property. The house also overlooks the grave of president John F. Kennedy and his family. The location is conveniently situated within walking distance of multiple hotels and provides easy access to various shops and restaurants. Back at the Row for a little fun with the boogers. We come to 🧊 ⛸️ with them and they love it. We decided to go on Christmas day thinking that it wouldn't be crowded like before and thank you it wasn't 😊. The Air Force Memorial, located on Air Force Memorial Drive near Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon, is a 270-foot monument with three towering spires dedicated to honoring past and present members of the U.S. Air Force. Designed by James Ingo Freed, it opened in 2006 and offers panoramic views of Washington D.C., making it an exceptional spot to watch the sunset.
Don’t let the current construction deter you from stopping by this stunning memorial! Take time to reflect and read the names of airmen honored through the years. Definitely worth a visit!

This is my first time visiting this monument, and it is absolutely stunning in person! The grounds are kept so beautiful and there’s flowers all around. The only thing that stunk about this monument is there so much construction going on behind that every time you took a picture or I wanna take a picture of the city as it’s overlooking all you saw was construction and dug up ground. This is a monument you won’t forget and the one you see in person you can’t believe how massive it is.

The Air Force Memorial is one of the newer monuments in the D.C. area, but it is still a great one to visit. The pillars that it consists of are stunning, and the grounds are very well kept as well. I highly recommend this monument if you're bored and looking for something to do in the D.C area.

I was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in laying there wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknown Solider, which is what brought me to the DC area. I took this opportunity to visit the Air Force Memorial. We actually stopped by to watch the fireworks from the hillside as well. It's an awesome tribute to the Air Force. They can be proud of this place.

CMSgt (Ret) 'Bo' Brown monitors the front entrance and is a living legend. Learn his story if you have time. This monument is a must visit for every Airman and Citizen to reflect on the sacrifice and significance of our Nation's Air Force.

Such a lovely memorial in the shape of the trail of Air Force jets. The view is spectacular and there is a wonderful breeze, which is quite fitting. I don't think many make it out here but it is worth the taxi ride, especially if you are already at Arlington Cemetery, the Marine Corps Memorial, or the Pentagon. Not sure if Arlington Cemetery or Pentagon City Metro is the closest but definitely visit. It is also associated with the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon. Markers for those who died on the plane point towards this Memorial, while markers for those who died in the Pentagon point toward the building. It's worth visiting for that connection alone. You won't be disappointed.

Unbelievable views of DC but above all a beautiful shrine for our fallen airmen. Beautiful location next to Pentagon and easily accessible from Reagan National.

As a retired Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer, I was so proud visiting this gorgeous monument for the first time! It's just beautiful with a seating area for presentations. It's also beautiful in it's simplicity. On Sunday, September 21st, approximately 272 members of the Air Force Cycling Team (and others) were led to the Memorial on our bicycles by CSAF General Allvin. It was an awe inspiring event and I'm so proud the Air Force has a memorial befitting such honor.

Memorial park

Monuments & Statues
The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial is a solemn and reflective outdoor space located in Arlington County, Virginia. It spans 2 acres of parkland just southwest of the Pentagon, honoring the 184 individuals who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The memorial features 184 granite-covered benches engraved with victims' names, each bench dedicated to an individual who perished at the Department of Defense headquarters or on American Airlines Flight 77.
A silent place of immense power. Before you even step into the inner circle, you feel it: this isn’t just wind brushing over marble and steel—this is a presence. A hush. A space that commands respect without raising its voice. The design feels almost like a ritual circle—each of the 184 illuminated benches tells a story, a memory forged in metal and stone. Walking among them feels like flipping through pages of a chapter the world must never forget. For quiet heroes. For eternal remembrance. And for you—to witness, to feel, and not to forget.

The Pentagon Memorial is such a powerful place to visit with kids. It’s peaceful, yet it carries the deep sadness of the 9/11 tragedy that forever changed our country. Walking through it gives you a chance to share with your children not only the history of that terrible day, but also the strength, unity, and resilience that followed. It’s a moving experience that leaves a lasting impression.

We were not from DC and had a little bit of a hard time finding the actual location to the memorial plus the parking. We got turned around and accidently went (for like 1.5 seconds) down a one way and Pentagon police did not hesitate to pull us over. We were only given a warning but they definitely aren't playing around. Don't come for me, but I personally found this memorial very simple (just overall) when compared to the 9/11 memorial in NYC. Yes, two different places but still the same subject (I'm sure the Shanksville PA location is about the same). There was only one other couple here. It is nice and quiet. Definitely a place for remembrance and reflecting. Worth a visit for sure. Not much here other than the memorial benches, each with a pool of water underneath. Very moving and such a great way to memorialize those lost on 9/11 in the Pentagon. Being near the Pentagon, security is high and I would limit your photography to strictly the memorial itself and not the building or surrounding area.
Taylor M — Google review
A beautiful tribute for the lives lost. Currently there is construction being done but there is a detour that still allows you to visit the memorial. Beautiful plaques with the names of the people who lost their lives along with benches for each person. A quiet and serene garden space with trees planted allowing one to sit and reflect. You can't help but feel emotional. A must visit if you are coming from out of town.
Deb C — Google review
A powerful and moving memorial that honors the lives lost on 9/11 with beauty and dignity. Beautiful at night too! The design is easy to navigate and free to visit, making it accessible day or night. Parking can be tricky and is limited, so public transit or nearby parking is best. Well worth the effort to get there for a quiet moment of reflection.
Tyler H — Google review
The place was very nice and made everyone I was traveling with very reflecting. It was overall a really nice memorial with an intuitive design and cool lighting. Highly recommend.
Krish G — Google review
It is a historical place for 9/11. You additionally have a view on Pentagon. The meaning of the banks and their direction with floating water needs to be reserched before you go there to understand the deeper meaning.
Bertram L — Google review
With the construction, getting to the memorial is currently a little confusing. However, once we got there, we found it very well designed and put together. Great memorial to those who lost their lives that day. This is the second of the three 9/11 memorials I've visited, and I recommend this to anyone who gets a chance to go.

The Pentagon, located south of Arlington Cemetery, is the world's largest office building and serves as the headquarters for the United States Department of Defense, Army, Navy, and Air Force. The Pentagon Memorial outside honors the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. Visitors can book free guided tours online with proper ID and reservations must be made well in advance.
Not allowed to do much photography, have to walk away from the building to get any good shots/permission to snap a pic. Obviously, the security was next level. Even getting off the train there were guards at the top of the escalators at checkpoints pointing tourists away from the staff entrance. There was a guy on the train platform with a rifle, Pentagon Police. Wanted to shoot a pic but didn't want him to shoot me! 😱
David K — Google review
I've taken the tour 3 times and I always see new parts of the building which is nice! The tour guides are very friendly and are happy to answer (reasonable) questions. Security is stringent but friendly. The appointment confirmation always says you have to be there an hour before your tour, but if you get there 40 minutes before you're totally fine too. And oh, it's usually quite cold in the building (even in the summer) so make sure you bring a sweater!

Our visit to the pentagon was for the ribbon cutting dedication ceremony for a statue depicting the famous handshake between French General Foch and US General John J Pershing after their cooperative service that ended World War I… The event was dignified by members of both military organizations along with members of General Pershing’s family in attendance…

Great tour. The outside 9-11 memorial is amazing. A very somber moment for our whole group.

This place is very mediocre. The landscaping is really nice but the people are not. The food choices are impressive but the smelly bathrooms are not. The gym is decent and parking is nonexistent unless you’re an Army General or Politician. The Pentagon Force Protection Agency should be avoided at all costs. Not because they have guns but because on three occasions this year I’ve found those guns to have their safeties in the “Fire” position while the cops are just relaxed and checking IDs. Maybe it’s a training thing but this is very dangerous and doesn’t seem in line with the responsibilities of protecting the Pentagon.

Parks
Shirlington Dog Park is a popular 2.4-acre off-leash park located in Arlington, VA, along Four Mile Run. It features separate areas for small and large dogs, multiple water stations, and a paved walkway. The park's location by the creek allows dogs to play in the water. Visitors can enjoy training their dogs off-leash and letting them frolic in the creek.
I've been looking around for dog parks where my little 5 lb Yorkie could feel comfortable and this is it. The place is nice and usually well kept. On our trip today, the small dog area was quite overgrown, but usually it's much tidier. All the dogs and owners have been mostly friendly. And the access to the creek is great on a nice sunny day. Do recommend this dog park.

Hidden Gem for Dog Lovers! 🐾 This is hands down the biggest dog park I’ve been to in the DMV area! It’s a hidden gem that every dog owner needs to check out. The fenced-in area is spacious—probably about half a mile long—with plenty of room for pups to run and play freely. There are benches scattered throughout for owners to relax while the dogs have their fun. One of the best parts? There’s a beautiful lake nearby that’s perfect for cooling off on hot days. It’s not fenced, so it’s best for dogs with good recall, but it’s such a great bonus feature. Plus, there’s a built-in water station in the fenced area to keep your dog hydrated. Overall, this park is an amazing find—peaceful, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for both dogs and their humans. Definitely worth the visit!
Bridgeth U — Google review
This park is a wonderful space for dogs to run and enjoy nature — it’s usually a great environment for both pets and their owners. Unfortunately, during my visit, my dog was attacked by a Rottweiler whose owner was not being responsible. Even in an off-leash park, it’s critical that owners keep their dogs under control and supervise them closely. The experience was traumatic, and I’m sharing this in hopes that all dog owners remember: off-leash doesn’t mean out-of-control. Please be mindful and considerate of others.
Rozita — Google review
Absolutely love bringing my puppy to this dog park. It offers a great opportunity for you to have your dog off leash without feeling they are forced to be with a bunch of dogs in a small confined area. I have met so many friendly owners. The community is very inviting and positive.
Allison S — Google review
Just under a quater mile, the park is lengthy and fenced, with access to a stream and large puddles [post rainstorms]. The perfect place to let your pup expend some energy!
Catherine T — Google review
A spacious and well-maintained dog park. It has open areas where dogs can run freely and socialize, plus trails along the creek that make it unique. There’s always a friendly atmosphere among owners, and the place feels safe. Perfect spot for dogs to burn energy and have fun

I was at the dog park on Saturday sometime around 11am and noon, two young owners one female and one male both white, who looked to be in their early to mid 20’s, about 5’10 to 6’ tall, they had a white and tan husky looking mix dog. Their 60-70lb dog viciously and aggressively mauled my 15lb cavapoo randomly, picked him up by the neck and did a death shake. Another dog owner helped me rescue my dog but my dog was badly hurt and while I was tending to my dog, these two irresponsible owners ran away without saying a word. Looking for any assistance with leads to the bad owner and aggressive dog.
Mikhail L — Google review
Great dog park to take the pups for a dip in the creek and train them to be off leash with you. My dogs love it, keep in mind; if you go down to the creek expect to get wet. YES, you’d be surprised at how many people look disappointed when they get muddy or wet. ***Only problem I’ve had are the older Karen’s (yes, I said it) that feel entitled to say something if your dog plays a certain way with a dog in your own pack, if your dog jumps on them, if the parking is inadequate, if you own too many dogs. News Flash: it’s a dog park. Still an awesome place. Don’t let anyone ruin it for you.

Busboys And Poets is a vibrant establishment that acts as a bookstore, coffee shop, and restaurant with a focus on global cuisine. Founded by Andy Shallal in Washington D.C., this venue is renowned for its literary events, poetry slams, and open mic nights. The Shirlington location has been a beloved part of the neighborhood since 2007 and hosts a monthly book club while also being popular among remote workers.
Really enjoyed my brunch at Busboys and Poets. I had the buttermilk pancakes, vegan burger, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and the honey caramel iced coffee — everything tasted fresh, hot, and delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and came with fresh berries and syrup on the side. The vegan burger was actually really flavorful and filling, and the fries were nice and crispy. The orange juice was super refreshing, and the iced coffee had just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming — a great spot to hang out for a casual brunch. Service was friendly too. Definitely planning to come back and try more from the menu.

A nice restaurant in the Shirlington area. This was recommended to us by a family member as it was close to a hotel that we were staying at. It was founded by artist-activist Andy Shallal. The first site opened September 2005 and was named in honor of Langston Hughes (who once worked as a busboy). It has a very interesting atmosphere owing to the fact that it is a small bookstore as well as a fair sized restaurant. We were greeted as we entered and seated immediately. There are mixes of booths, tables and at least 2 separate rooms for seating inside and a small area right outside the front door for additional seating. The walls and art provide plenty to look at while you are there. The restaurant was clean and well-appointed. The breakfast menu (when we visited) has everything from omelettes to bagels, french toast to bacon. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the scrambled eggs with toast. The prices were reasonable with my eggs coming in at $11. The food came out quickly and was different than I am used to but still good. Overall, this is definitely a place worth trying if you are in the area and want to try a neat place with good food.

Asian fusion restaurant
Bonchon Arlington is a popular casual chain known for its Korean fried chicken and traditional dishes. The restaurant takes pride in its cooked-to-order approach, ensuring that the food is always fresh and crispy. The twice-fried chicken is particularly noteworthy for its irresistibly crunchy texture and sticky-sweet garlic-soy glaze. Bonchon's dedication to consistency means that modifications to the dishes are not allowed, reflecting their commitment to quality.
O’Dallas is very warm, kind, and friendly! Thank you for your service! The chicken was soooo good. The pickled radish was delicious as well as the kimchi, donuts, and tacos. The japchae lacked vegetables and had more meat which I didn’t really prefer but overall food was 10/10.

Bonchon never disappoints. Was indecisive between Chinese and Bonchon for dinner. Ended up getting both. I ordered 16 wings: half garlic soy and half spicy for delivery. The garlic soy was so delicious but the spicy wings (per my other half) said it was so spicy he couldn't chew but instead swallowed lol. He loves spicy food but these wings were very spicy for him. Still good but too spicy.

i will go back and try just the chicken because i believe that’s all they should stick to. ordered fried rice and bul dak. fried rice was okay and bul dak was awful. chicken tasted weird, flavor was just one thing all over the chicken. barely any tteokboki. took 25+ minutes for the food to come. almost no one on the floor to refill waters because (i’m guessing) the tab is all online. idk very underwhelming and a sad meal.

Nothing special, but not bad. The price will drive me to other places because the sauces aren't special and the meat is really thin, nothing compared to popeye's. Nice people, but bland atmosphere.

Not the best but not bad. Certainly not authentic. If you go, there’s a free parking garage right behind the restaurant which helps. Staff are friendly and wait time for food is minimal. You’ll most likely order and pay from your phone, although I prefer actual menus. Prices are a little more than I care for but somewhat reasonable. The setting is fair. Clean tables and comfortable seats. I opted for a fusion dish, the bulgogi fries. Size was appropriate and flavors were decent. My wife had the japchae. Again, food is not very authentic but fair.

This is my first time eating at a Bonchon and I really liked it. We ordered Bulgogi Udon, Chicken Katsu, and the House Fried Rice to go and loved all of them. Great flavor in all three dishes. These three orders served two of us four separate meals, so the portion sizes are really good. Also, the servers were very friendly. They actually made a mistake on one of our orders and gave us just the Bulgogi plate instead of udon. One of their workers called and then drove the extra order over. So I guess it was these four dishes that served us four meals. Anyhow, we liked the food so much, we came back a couple days later for the happy hour. The drink specials are a bit limited, but they still have some decent deals. I ended up ordering just a normal drink since I didn't love any of the options. And then we ordered the Bao Buns and the Seasoned Fries and both of those were very good. Definitely impressed with the food here.
Dave H — Google review
The wings here are the best in town. Super crunchy and filled with lots of flavor. There’s a code that you scan and my food came straight to my table. I was hesitant on ordering that way because I didn’t think the service would be up to par but my waitress and the manager were attentive. I never had to ask for anything because they were two steps ahead of me. The beer was ice cold just how I like it. Overall great experience as always!

Nestled in a cozy corner of Arlington, The Athena Pallas Restaurant is a delightful gem that showcases the essence of Greek cuisine. This family-run establishment exudes warmth and charm, adorned with images of sun-kissed islands that transport you straight to the Mediterranean. With outdoor seating available, it’s an inviting spot to enjoy classic dishes paired with a thoughtfully curated selection of Greek wines. The menu features an array of home-style offerings that are hard to resist.
I had a great time eating here. The place is kind of tucked away behind most of the 23rd street restaurants so I may have missed it had I not been recommended by a friend. The atmosphere is very homey and feel-good and the food was amazing. We ordered the moussaka and the spinach pastry and were very impressed with both. Will definitely come back to try the fried cheese, octopus and assorted desserts. The staff and other customers were very friendly and it was an overall great eating experience.

It was my second time at this family friendly, but business casual vibe Greek restaurant. Good authentic Greek food. We got the hot grape leaves, but prior I had the cold ones. Both were tasty. Vibe - family dining room with a Greek decor feeling. As soon as we stepped inside it was like a warm family home vibe. Service- friendly, professional but a little bit slow due to covering all the tables during a busy Saturday night. Food - my scallops dish honestly needed a bit more rice and a bit more string beans but it was a nice light meal. The pasta is a huge portion size because my boyfriend couldn’t finish it. Parking - tight parking spaces but it’s free behind the restaurant. Overall, if you want authentic Greek food and you have some patience definitely visit them!

This is such a lovely local place! I was very impressed by the quality and cost of the food here. This is definitely a "lunch on a budget" place where one need not compromise on portion size. The staff are also incredibly attentive and warm. We never felt "abandoned" by our server during our meal, which was served swiftly. On a personal note, I was reminded of my own local Greek restaurant back home on Long Island, *also* named Athena, and it felt so comforting to be reminded of home 260+ miles away. ❤️

This is a wonderful Greek restaurant near all the restaurants on 23rd Street. The service was a bit slow at lunch time but the quality of the food and the price easily made up for the wait. My Gyro was flavorful and the wrap itself was very soft and fresh. I highly recommend eating here.

The restaurant is beautiful, and I really liked the menu. However, the service was a bit hard to describe. The server who helped us was very friendly, but she didn’t seem confident in what she was doing, and that affected our overall experience. For example, I wasn’t asked how I wanted my meat cooked, among other small disappointments. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I would return.

Place is old traditional fine dining. We ordered blackened Atlantic salmon, shrimp and crab stuffed salmon, beer battered fish and chips and kids Atlantic salmon. Food was perfect and tasted awesome. Quantity was wholesome for us. Service was slow. Crowd was thin on a Saturday night and still the staff were slow and busy with something. Price wise it was on the expensive side. A dinner for 4 with no drinks, dessert or appetizers set us back by $130 before gratuity.

A couple of less-than-ideal experiences at other locations (one at the harbor and another on K Street) had unfortunately kept me away. However, a birthday gift card prompted me to give it another try, and I am so incredibly glad I did. Chrissy’s performance was a masterclass in customer service. From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly attentive, pleasant, and offered excellent recommendations. What truly set her apart was her ability to create a personalized and celebratory atmosphere for my birthday. Her energy and positivity made our small group of three feel like a grand celebration. I was particularly impressed with her ability to provide such individualized attention while clearly managing a busy bar area. She seamlessly divided her time, making us feel as though we were her only guests. Thanks to Chrissy, I was reminded of how much I used to enjoy decompressing at your happy hour, and this single visit has inspired me to return to that routine. Employees like Chrissy are invaluable. She not only provided a memorable birthday experience but also single-handedly restored my faith in the McCormick & Schmick’s brand. I hope you will recognize her for her remarkable customer service skills and for being an exemplary ambassador who is directly responsible for bringing a former customer back into the fold.

I WOULD AVOUD THIS RESTAURANT!!! Perhaps the worst dining experience in my 40+years of dining out. Food quality horrendous, service non existent. The exception was the bartender, who in reality was bartender, food runner, waiter and bartender - and management. Worked his Fanny off, but when servicing 10 tables alone - a disaster. And a manager whose skill set screams 1 star. I have a long history with this restaurant - McCormick & Schmick’s - including numerous visits to their flagship restaurant in Portland, and many visits to the former location in Dallas. Now closed, no surprise. We ordered a number of things from the happy hour menu as well as the dinner menu. The burger was good, but everything else was just terrible. The asparagus side at $11 was delivered to the table twice. I would not have fed this old and imperfect product to livestock. I asked the manager to eat an untouched piece of our second serving and she refused. GOOD ENOUGH FOR CUSTONERS THOUGH. The heads were all damaged and it was extremely woody. Again, the general manager would not eat it when summoned for the SECOND TIME during our visit. The mussels were tough and tasted old. The trout dinner arrived so hard seared, my wife had to peel most of the skin off just to be able to eat it. The best part of the meal was the Wednesday special Nashville chicken sliders - priced on the menu at $10. The two sliders were ONE CHICKEN TENDER - split between the two buns. A dab of coleslaw and no Nashville hot sauce. When quizzed during the SECOND discussion with the manager, Ashley, she indicated this was the directive from the corporate office. ONE CHICKEN TENDER SPLIT BETWEEN TWO SLIDERS FOR $10. let that sink in for a minute. I asked to speak to the general manager after the first round of food was delivered. I spoke to her in the dining room (there were zero customers dining) to deliver my real time feedback to her. While the bartender was busting his fanny working multiple jobs, Ashley had to be summoned from the comfort of her office, and she did not know how to address my issues or even talk to me. A TORAL FAIL of management. The host was on his mobile phone when I approached him to summoned the manager. No one was working with the exception of the bartender. I would argue this restaurant’s abysmal 3.9 rating on Google was generous. When I asked to speak to the manager the second time after our second round of food was delivered, I showed her the “half chicken tender” sliders. Her only comment to me aside from saying she didn’t know what to say was she assumed I would not like the chicken sliders and quickly removed them from the table. A very rude action. I specifically asked that nothing be removed from the bill. The first order of inedible asparagus was removed, though the second order - also inedible- was charged. A disaster. When the check was delivered, I noticed a quote from Tillman Fertitta, who I assume has purchased m&s and might explain the erosion in quality. Fertitra of Landry’s and ufc fame. A once wonderful restaurant, now destroyed. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT WAS TERRIBLE, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE HARD WORKING BARTENDER/RUNNER/SERVER/BUSBOY, who we tipped well. The bill was $124 for two (4 beers included) with generous and deserved tip to the bartender. Perhaps the single worst meal to value in my 55 years. I WOULD AVOID THIS RESTAURANT at all cost!!! We were recommended by the Hyatt hotel down the street. I’ll be contacting bill freeman, CEO of M&S after posting this review. Some changes need to be made. Truly terrible. TO THE FERTITRA ORGANIZATION, YOU NEED NEW MANAGEMENT, KITCHEN STAFF, EVERYTHING. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD JYST SHUT IT DOWN. TRULY AWFUL.
