Breakfast restaurant
Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery is a casual New Orleans-inspired counter-service bakery and cafe located in Arlington. The funky setting exudes warmth and hospitality with its mini-living room vibe, complete with a playlist of brass band music and plenty of Big Easy-themed decor. The shop offers classic coffees as well as unique drinks like the cajun latte with bourbon, cayenne, and cinnamon.
Food was great here. I got the biscuits and gravy (Louisiana style) and everything tasted homemade and fresh. I followed that by a whole milk hot latte, pretty good. My boyfriend got a avocado toast, he enjoyed it. We shared the beignets and they tasted good they were not to sweet which I liked. We went on a Saturday which you can imagine was busy, but it was fast service. We will be coming here again for Brunch.
Fabiola C — Google review
Great spot for breakfast in my opinion. The prices are decent, but the service is slow due to the FRESH made to order food. This is not a fast food rush type spot. They are quick with some items but the more complex meal items they are making from scratch and you can taste it. Great to grab coffee and beignets or a biscuit sandwich.
Jarred M — Google review
This place is busy! Definitely order ahead. Breakfast sandwich was kind of small but perfectly proportioned. Think the bread type could’ve been more inspiring. Iced coffee worked its magic on me. Perfectly sweet but not too much. I’ll need to plan to go back to try their beignets and other treats.
Cassie S — Google review
A nice little corner brunch shop. Staff are polite and the food is delicious! Try their Louisiana style French beignets and biscuits! They are delicious! Coffee and hot chocolate are good as well!
M D — Google review
Omg. I don't even know where to start. I've had beignets in New Orleans (Cafe Beignet) and the ones from Bayou Bakery definitely satisfied that craving!!! The mufaletta was everything I could ever want in a sandwich. It was piled high with quality meats, served on a delicious roll, with mayo and yummy olive tapenade. It was bursting with flavor, and definitely one of my new all-time fave hot sandwiches! I was torn between ordering this or the Arm Drip (roast beef Po Boy, looks similar to a French dip). I compromised and ordered the mufaletta with a side of the gravy that comes on the Arm Drip. (They don't actually have the option to order the gravy on the order online menu. I requested a side of gravy in the "notes" section (alone with extra mayo). It didn't occur to me that they have more than one type of gravy, ha! When I arrived to pick up my order, the lovely human who greeted me (Karla) asked me which kind of gravy I wanted, and was able to quickly add a small cup to my order for just $1. I dont expect much as far as customer service, because I know first-hand how rough it can be to work those jobs. You'd never know it based on my interaction with Karla. She was all smiles, extremely friendly and personable. It felt like having a conversation with a friend as opposed to a business transaction. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I cannot wait to return and try more items. I definitely want to dine-in sometimes as well. The seating is somewhat limited but its got a cute ambiance. I definitely need to try their baked goods sometime. Oh! They sell yesterdays leftover baked goods for $2! How fun! Love that, because not only do you get a good deal with the "old" pastries, you know everything else is freshly baked that day! You can tell a lot of love is poured into this place, and the staff seem happy, so not only is it good for my taste buds, it's a place I am happy to support. Do yourself a favor and go try them asap! What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, memorable, a place to write home about! A must-experience. Someplace I would love to reccomend to tourists, and visit myself again and again. 4 is great, somewhere I'd love to return again and again. Back-up reccomenation for tourists. 3 is good. A solid option if I am in the area. I may reccomend to locals, but would probably leave it off my list of reccomendations for tourists. 2 is ok, but only because it a great value, unique, and/or convenient. 1 means I would not return
Sage R — Google review
This place is too small. The line wrapped through the cafe and made moving about difficult especially with the extra tables they have. We got a breakfast sandwich with ham and egg on a roll, a sandwich with sausage and egg on a biscuit and a seasonal scone (chocolate cherry). The roll sandwich was good but it was also the size of a slider, which made the price seem outrageous. The biscuit was a typical biscuit breakfast sandwich, we should have gotten some cheese as the biscuit was a bit dry. The scone was like the person that made the filling burnt everything.
Alex D — Google review
My wife didn't love the flavor of her latte (but everybody has different taste preferences). The muffins and scones were enjoyed by all in my family. Service was good! Would definitely come back on next visit.
Jon H — Google review
One of our favorite spots for late weekend breakfasts. Biscuit breakfast sandwich with bacon is tasty, biscuits and gravy are savory, and the "Hungover Hog" is a filling and delicious meal. My fave coffee is the lavender honey latte. And the beignets? Oh my God THE BEIGNETS. All warm and fluffy and generously dusted with sugar. So, so good. Love the vibe, and the staff is always efficient yet friendly. Keep it up, y'all!

Bakery

At Livin' The Pie Life, a charming pie shop founded in 2011 by the dynamic duo of Heather Sheire and Wendy MacCallum, you can indulge in an array of mouthwatering pies crafted from locally sourced ingredients. This woman-owned establishment is known for its commitment to quality, with every crust and filling made from scratch. As Thanksgiving approaches, they are currently taking orders for pickup until November 17th, encouraging customers to freeze their purchases for later enjoyment.
I came here because I saw someone review the chocolate chip cookie. I can attest that it is indeed an amazing cookie. As you can see, I may have gone a little overboard on ordering. The banana cream pie and the banana pudding were both delicious. The rice Krispy treat was solid but the sambusa was the star of the show. I arrived a few minutes before they came out of the oven and it was fresh out of the oven when I ate it. I would 100% recommend. Perfect for someone who’s seeking something savory. Lastly, the staff were superb. Super friendly and extremely kind. They answer every question you may have, pay attention to detail, and are all genuinely happy to be there. Don’t let your bad day ruin theirs. Edit: now that I’ve tried the quiche, I would put that near the top of everything I bought, even if eaten a day or two later.
Tyler M — Google review
Great dessert spot serving numerous different sweet and savory options. I didn’t even know where to start when I arrived as there so many things to choose from. I ended up getting the rhubarb mini pie and a peanut butter cookie. I really liked the rhubarb pie. It had the perfect balance of tartness and a little bit of sweet. The crust was flakey and I could taste the butter in it. Staff was super friendly and helped me narrow down my options.
Lauren C — Google review
We were excited to try this Pie place because we saw the photos and reviews. We bought a “Turtle Pie” which we were looking forward to because it combines chocolate and Pecan. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. While the filling is very good, the pie itself is non-existent. For instance, you cannot cut a piece without everything crumbling and the bottom Pie crust is “stuck” to the bottom of the box (this somewhat appears in the photo). Moreover, whatever crust we are able to salvage (including the upper corners) was extremely dry and tasteless (tastes a bit stale and zero crunch). The three stars are for the filling and zero star for the Pie itself. If the actual pie crust were to be crunchy and flaky, this could have has the potential to be excellent. Edited after response: Appreciate the response but the Pie above was consumed straight from the store, it was not in the fridge. We had it about 25 minutes after we picked it up. I reached out by email.
Boli R — Google review
Great local bakery serving up the best scones, fluffy on the inside but slightly crispy on the outside. We opted for the strawberry, raspberry, and lemon scone and my toddler cannot stop raving about it. Super friendly and welcoming staff.
Adri G — Google review
I visited this place for the first time last weekend, as long as I have been living in Virginia, why I didn’t know about this hidden gem. I went there for an Apple Pie, they informed that it’s not Apple season. I was surprised about their honesty and how they take pride on their ingredients they use. I was there for about 20 minutes, couldn’t decide after then, they were patient, told me to take my time, and it was a busy Saturday morning. I brought a Pecan Pie, slices of Key Lime and a Peace pie. Every one that had a slice was amazed on how good they were. I can’t wait to go back this weekend. Thanks for the best pies I have ever had and the such excellent customer service. The person who was slicing all that butter/not sure if she’s the owner. Her smile and her demeanor makes you want to come back.
Darla — Google review
I’ve been a fan of these pies since before the shop existed, back when it was just two incredibly talented women selling at local farmers markets. Now, nearly a decade into their charming storefront, the selection has only gotten better (and bigger). Their apple and peach pies are classic favorites, but the brown butter coconut is something special. It’s rich, perfectly balanced, and honestly, one of the best pies I’ve ever had. One of the most unexpected hits is the seasonal tomato pie. I’ve been giving it to my tomato-loving mom for years, and it never disappoints. It’s not only beautiful to look at… those layered tomato slices with herbs and cheese are a work of art but the flavor is next-level. Savory, fresh, and unforgettable. Whenever I’m hosting, I stop in for a quiche, they’re always packed with flavor and made with the same care as everything else here. Their crust is buttery, flaky, and absolutely perfect. You can tell just how much attention and love goes into every single item. This bakery is a true neighborhood gem. From the sweet to the savory, everything they make is done with heart - and it shows.
Ray M — Google review
On the plus side, they have the best chocolate pie, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies anywhere so they will make any chocoholic very happy. On negative side, parking is really bad as are the hours. They also ask you to tip which is really awkward. Their prices are high so tipping should not be necessary but also tipping is not customary for counter service. And they stand there and watch you while you select the tip amount which is super awkward. Another thing I don’t like is that they typically sell the Mile High Chocolate Pie as a mini-pie. I don’t like the mini-pies as the filling-to-crust ratio is too low. They sometimes sell that pie by the slice and it is great when they do that but I always skip it when they only offer the mini-pies. EDIT: Responding to the owners, I have tried asking for a slice but was told “no”, that they will not sell slices when they have mini-pies. Too bad because your desserts are incredibly good, no other shop is even close.
Sean S — Google review
As an Asian, I’ve never tried pie before, so one day when I was craving something sweet, I decided to give it a shot. After Googling for the best spot, I found a place with high ratings and thought, “Why not?” I ended up buying six different pies to sample. Let me tell you—they were all amazing, especially the pecan pie. The crust was super thin, crispy, and held together perfectly. Cookies is incredible too. But the worst one? The cranberry pear. Not my vibe at all. A few were a bit too sweet for my taste—like, the key lime was crazy sweet. But overall, the staff were super friendly, the vibe was chill, and everything was super fresh. Definitely worth it! This photo is from the second time I bought it, and this time, I went all out and got a big pecan pie to really indulge.

Pie shop
Acme Pie Company is a delightful destination for anyone looking to elevate their Thanksgiving dessert spread. With an impressive selection of 7- and 10-inch pies available for order up to two weeks before the holiday, you can indulge in flavors like vegan apple, sour cherry with streusel topping, and pecan chocolate maple. As the holiday approaches, they shift focus to seasonal favorites such as apple cranberry and pumpkin with candied ginger.
So there are many amazing small businesses in Arlington and Acme Pie is among the best for entertainment via Pin Ball and Desserts, coffee and Bethany. Bethany was working when we visited and let me say she is a wonderful breath of beautiful personality and customer service. Bethany is enthusiastic about the Acme Pie shop and the love Sol puts into each creation. We had a few different slices and not one disappointed. The kids and parents that came in really had a great time on the Pin Ball machines. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great little pie shop in Arlington. Great selection and a lot of amazing pinball games to play. The owner and staff are also very helpful in donating stuff with our PTA for school.
Donny S — Google review
This review is regarding their new breakfast service. (Although their pies are delicious) Acme pie just started a breakfast service from 7-10 a.m It comes with a biscuit sandwich (a pretty hearty biscuit) and either coffee or iced tea. The biscuit was flavorful and filling! Mine had eggs and bacon. Not sure which roaster they use for coffee but it was pretty tasty. And the cashier was extremely friendly too! Not to mention the breakfast was very affordable for this area. I'll definitely do that again.
Ksquared — Google review
The pie was absolutely delicious. It was so rich and sweet. The gentleman who was working behind the counter was very friendly and helpful.
Jon S — Google review
Delicious at the old place and delicious at the new. The owner is incredibly affable and accommodating, and the new space is awesome. It’s a great successor to Rappahanock Cafe who was here before in terms of vibe. Only thing that would make it perfect is if the coffee came with free refills 😅
Charles D — Google review
Great pies. Can't go wrong Plus they have pinball machines. New location is so much better for parking.
Justin Z — Google review
My husband and I wanted to have pies at our wedding instead of cake. We tried out another place before we went to Acme, and were unimpressed. As soon as we did a tasting at Acme though, but we were blown away by all their pies. We loved even the flavors we didn't think we'd be interested in. The owner, Sol, was so easy to work with, and gave us guidance to help us figure out which pies to order. He then was nice enough to deliver our order to our wedding venue. When the wedding day came, the pies were a huge hit!
Rachel S — Google review
I ordered an Apple pie for a birthday party and was told I could pick it up on Saturday morning. I get to the store on Saturday morning and the place is closed. I waited there for 15 minutes in case someone would show up but no one did. I was disappointed that I couldn’t get the pie for the birthday party. They called me the next day to see if I wanted the pie still and apologized about the mix up but it was too late.

Coffee shop
Baked & Wired is an artsy bakery and coffeehouse located in Georgetown, known for its signature granola and oversized cake cups. The cake cups come in various flavors such as Pretty Bitchin' peanut butter and chocolate, Karens Birthday chocolate cake, Texas Sheetcake, and Chocolate Doom. Despite the popularity of their cake cups, the bakery also offers delicious normal-size birthday cakes.
A large variety of cupcakes and all are delicious. Favorites are the Vegan Oreo and German Chocolate Cake (both shown). Can be a big line at peak times so would recommend coming earlier in the day. The coffee is good & everyone is very nice! Very limited seating.
Jamie S — Google review
Best cupcakes we've had perhaps in decades. We tried the "Chocolate Doom" and "Razmanian Devil" flavors and both cupcakes were exceptionally moist, light and airy with a perfectly balanced, and topped with a not overly sweet rich, creamy, smooth frosting, which enhanced the cake flavors. Worth going out of your way to try. See my posted photos if you need further pursuasion.
Howard S — Google review
The chocolate peanut butter and dirty chai cupcakes weren’t quoted as best sellers or favorites of the employees, but both were really excellent! The strawberry, dulce de leche, and blueberry lemon are popular choices. Our flat whites were excellent too. The employees were nice enough to explain what a tallat is (a Spanish coffee drink similar to a cortado) despite the long line behind us.
Andrew Z — Google review
We are visiting from Az and never just sit and go to a coffee shop but we were recommended to this place from someone who worked at the Barnes & Noble up the street and we could not be more happy with the recommendation. The coffee & the pastries are out of this world plus gluten free and vegan options are a plus. We have been here 3 times and if we lived closer we would be regulars!
Angela V — Google review
A Sweet DC Icon That Still Deserves the Hype Baked & Wired is a Georgetown must for anyone with a sweet tooth—or a serious love for great coffee. Back in the heyday of DC’s cupcake craze, the debate was always Georgetown Cupcake vs. Baked & Wired. Personally? I think Baked & Wired still wins. The cupcakes are generous in size, super moist with just the right amount of frosting (not too sweet, not too skimpy), and each flavor is paired with a cute, hand-illustrated sign that makes choosing feel like a mix between a gallery visit and a dessert decision crisis. The vibe? Artsy, bustling, and delightfully chaotic. Be prepared: it’s almost always crowded. I don’t think I’ve ever visited when it wasn’t packed. The line moves quickly, but it’s definitely not the place for lingering inside—unless you’re lucky enough to snag a coveted seat. I managed to grab a spot outside, which felt like winning a little cupcake lottery. Also worth noting: the coffee and tea game here is strong. So whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon pick-me-up or a treat-yourself moment, it’s always worth the wait. Baked & Wired is one of those rare places that has stood the test of time in DC—and continues to deliver.
Wendy M — Google review
The cupcakes were really good and so was the coffee. This place deserves all the hype. Good service as well.
Dinesh T — Google review
If you are going to get cupcakes in DC come here! We got the cherry blossom and the German chocolate and both were delicious. Both were soft and moist. Completely different tastes but both very good, and fit their names.
Alex D — Google review
BEST cupcakes in dc! These taste so fresh and delicious. I recommend these to anyone that visits or is looking for a sweet treat. My favorite flavors are the lemon blueberry, carrot cake and red velvet. They also have delicious coffee, biscuits, and their cheesecake brownie is to die for!! They were super helpful when it came to my mom’s allergy accommodations as well

In addition to pies, they also have autumnal desserts like pumpkin spice cupcakes, pumpkin raisin cookies, and apple pie danish. Talk about a chocolate cupcake! Absolutely delightful. One of the many favorites there. The carrot cake is delicious! The atmosphere is wonderful, giving vibes of French bakery meets buzzing corner cafe! Staff is polite and professional, taking special care to package each order beautifully. Breakfast, brunch, lunch items and more. Cozy spot great for picking up or take-out not alot seating.

Looked up bakery near me, and this was listed. I was looking for a new experience and found Bedt Buns Bakery & Burgers. Overall, everything was a pleasant surprise. The customer service, food, and pleasant atmosphere was a 10 out of 10. I have already recommended this bakery to my friends. You can not go wrong if you want to experience great food.
Erica H — Google review
Love the setup in the restaurant. Wait time was a little long, but definitely worth the wait. The croissant was flaky, soft and buttery I might add. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection.
T M — Google review
Truly some of the best buns as they supply bread to so many different restaurants around the area. Even from outside, one can smell the bread being baked and we couldn't help but go outside. Later in the day, one's options are more limited, but they still had a great selection. The staff were incredibly kind and helped provide suggestions on what to get. I opted for a whole loaf of monkey bread and it was sublime, but next time I'll be trying one of their massive cupcakes!

I went to get cupcakes and baguette. Sat outside, my friend got a chai. It’s her favorite. I think the cupcake was delish! I got redvelvet cupcake, too bad they didn’t have the big cupcake but I was happy with the small one :)

Really good taste. Cinnamon Rolls pack alot of flavor. The biscuits are top-notch and flaky. Just like Grandma used to make. Quite delicious.

Best Buns has been in business since before I discovered it in 1997. They are the real deal. The quality, consistency and value of their products is unmatched in this region. There are other bakery cafes that may have a couple of good products but at Best Bens every item is amazing. They seem to retain staff for years or decades and are always pleasant and kind. They were especially thoughtful when my spouse’s father passed and their kindness will always be remembered. Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch, takeout, holidays or catering. Thank you for being a highlight in NOVA.

Bread Furst is a bustling bakery located in Van Ness, offering a wide variety of gourmet bread, pastries, cakes, and coffee. The team of seven bakers at this five-year-old establishment churns out an array of dark and crusty loaves including corn rye, multigrain, walnut raisin, rye teff, brioche, baguettes and more.
In all honesty, the chocolate cookies are ok. What makes this reviews five stars is the almond croissant. It was absolutely phenomenal. The croissant was flaky and buttery, and there was a plenty of almond frangipane inside. Also, the Cookie Roberts (shortbread with pecans) is very, very good. A lot of other good-looking baked goods and breads as well. We’ve also enjoyed pies from there before, and they were very good (got blueberry and peach). Great location and friendly service to go with their gourmet market, and you’ve got yourself a neighborhood favorite.

Group of friends got lunch here and sat at the outside tables on a glorious weekday. Apparently the fresh loaves of bread are fabulous but lunch is mediocre. My premade beet salad with walnuts and gorgonzola and lots of fresh greens was tasty but the oatmeal cherry cookie was poor: overcooked and dry, zero taste of cherry and way too salty. A friend with the ham and cheese baguette said the baguette was fabulous but the meager portion of ham and cheese left him feeling as if he was just eating bread. Others who had gotten the bagel and lox were not impressed with the bagel nor the lox nor the other items on the bagel such as the mildly pickled red onion slice.

Don’t order the runny egg unless you know you like a barely cooked scrambled egg that’s pooling in liquid. The English muffin or bagel gets drenched and soggy. And I like my scrambled eggs not fully cooked, but this is another level. We mentioned how both my wife and I couldn’t eat it to two of the staff and they were like “yeah, it’s called a messy egg, duh.” It’s even worse with the cheese - too salty. And the mashed avocado isn’t good either. Nor is the homemade lox. And the Counter Culture coffee isn’t amazing either. I don’t often write reviews like this, it’s just my 5th time giving these sandwiches a chance because I love this neighborhood gem and hold out hope I might like their breakfast as a treat once in a while. I love the retail options (though expensive) and the baked goods are great, which is why I gave 4 stars. And it’s expensive. And want to warn people away from the messy egg unless you know it’s your thing!

My uncle picked up plain and chocolate croissants for me to try. Place was crowed and outdoor seating is limited. Most disappointed that my croissants were on the burnt side. For a popular bakery I was not happy. From what I can tell seems like a very good quality set of ingredients, but to over bake pastries is just unacceptable. Chocolate chip Cookies were good and chewy. They offer wide variety of baked goods to try.

Got the Ube Matcha which was very good, but it is on the sweeter side if you like that. I got a bagel with eggs and cheddar and the eggs were literally liquid. Couldn’t finish it because I felt I was eating raw eggs and definitely not my style. The bagel itself was good and the people working there were nice

Bread Furst is a true DC gem on Connecticut Avenue. The quality of everything—from the flaky pastries to the savory prepared foods—is exceptional. My favorites are the canelés and baguettes, which are on par with the best boulangeries in France. They also carry an excellent selection of European wines and gourmet delicacies that transport you straight to a market in Paris. Prices are definitely on the higher side, so it’s more of a Sunday indulgence than a daily stop—but always worth it.
Aari L — Google review
A dry and pre-made sandwich can be yours for $15! You won’t know that when ordering though- prices are hidden for everything. Looking for mayo/pickles/onions? Good luck - no add-ons available! The good news is the service - the cashiers seem to be wise to the fact that this place is a complete tourist trap, if only I had done more research beforehand. Definitely skip!

Northside Social Coffee & Wine is a versatile spot that offers a cozy atmosphere, delicious coffee, and an extensive menu. Whether you're looking for a place to grab brunch, have a business meeting, or simply relax with a book, this establishment has something for everyone. With comfortable seating options both indoors and outdoors, including dog-friendly outdoor seating and a quieter upstairs area, it's the perfect place to unwind. In addition to their great coffee selection, they also offer an impressive array of beers.
- The restaurant is a standalone building located near a crossroad. - There is ample seating both indoors and outdoors. The indoor seating is divided into front, back, and upstairs areas. - On Fridays in July, the restaurant is consistently busy from 2 PM to 4 PM. - Typically, there are happy hours and live music on Fridays from 6 PM to 9 PM. - Besides coffee, the restaurant offers breakfast options and other beverages. - During the day, it operates primarily as a coffee shop, while at night it transforms into a wine bar. [my experience] - The back and upstairs areas are quieter, while the front area is more bustling with constant traffic. - The restaurant is suitable for socializing, business meetings, or simply enjoying the atmosphere. - If you prefer a quieter workspace, the back or upstairs areas would be more suitable.

Great spot for a weekend brunch. Loved the cuban sandwich. There is parking in front but don’t count on it. A lot of people so you might not be able to sit yourselves.

My cousin and I hosted a bridal shower at this location and we were so happy with how everything turned out. The staff especially Kelly was so helpful with booking and planning the event. The communication was top-notch. The day of, Mario and his team did such a great job with taking care of us from helping us set up the decor to setting up the music to bringing us anything we needed during the event. The food was AMAZING and a big hit with our vegetarian crowd. I’m not a big fan of food at coffee shops but it was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for helping us put on such a memorable event!

Northside Social Coffee & Wine is a great spot for pretty much any time of day. In the mornings, they serve good coffee, freshly baked pastries, and the atmosphere is good for getting work done or just taking it easy. They have plenty of seating both inside and out, so even when it’s busy it doesn’t feel totally cramped. Later in the day, they shift into wine-bar mode, perfect if you want something more laid-back with a glass of wine and some small plates.

Northside Social is such a great spot! The coffee is excellent, the food items are fresh and tasty, and their happy hour is delicious with great options. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and the space has plenty of seating (with outlets, which is a huge plus!). It’s perfect for working, relaxing, or meeting up with friends. Definitely one of my go-to places.

Stopped her for lunch. On a nice day, it’s a nice spot to sit out and drink/eat. Nice selection of wines, and small but diverse menu options s. We had the salmon salad, quiche, pop tarts and some wine. Will definitely be back.

Casual, unassuming and welcoming meeting place that you can go to with friends, family, colleagues. Their baked goods are very good. I tried their gluten free chocolate pecan cookie that was delicious! It had a crispy coating, chewy middle, and very chocolatey. The coffee cake was good and not too sweet. They have happy hour and other dishes that I would want to go back and try. There's seating upstairs and in the back area.

Un Je Ne Sais Quoi is a charming French-inspired bakery in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, offering a delightful selection of artful pastries and desserts. The stylish dessert shop specializes in cloud-like meringue and whipped cream pastries, along with homemade brioche, flaky almond croissants, and apple tarts. While seating is limited, patrons can take their treats to go or enjoy them at a sidewalk table while soaking in the bustling atmosphere.
This bakery is one of the best in DC. It was a bit crowded on a Saturday morning, but that’s a good sign! The enticing aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air, and the ice lattes were fantastic. Unlike most coffee shops, this one offers a delightful balance of bitterness and sweetness in its coffee. I didn’t add any sweeteners, and I loved the harmonious blend of coffee and milk. I ordered a croissant, raisin bun, and baguette, and each one was worth the wait and the price.

Where do i start… this is THE BEST bakery thats out there!! Amazing croissants.. almond, pistachio and ham & cheese is to die for !! Coffee with oat milk was amazing too. Can’t wait to come back!! I always bring secured bag back home full of goodies!

Update: visited again in June 2025, super impressed as always! This place is hands-down one of the best French bakeries and dessert shops in DC—a true gem right in the heart of Dupont Circle. The window display is always full of freshly baked, picture-perfect pastries, some of which I’ve only ever seen on TV. I’ve never been to a patisserie in France, but judging by the look and unforgettable taste, I’d be willing to bet it doesn’t get better than this around here. On my last visit, the pistachio croissant really stood out—it was flaky, rich, and filled with a creamy pistachio center that wasn’t overly sweet. It may be one of the best pastries I’ve had in a long time, and I’m still thinking about it to this day. Whenever I’m headed to a birthday party, I try to stop here to pick up some desserts, and they’re always a hit. Your friends will love you for this :) It’s hard not to just get that pistachio croissant every time, but I’ll do my best to try something new next time… maybe.

Unfortunately, the service was disappointing — one staff member who is a white female. She was unfriendly with eyes rolling when we ask for forks/knives. Visited 9/7/2025 Sunday 2:40 PM. Feel like I owe her $1 million. Pastries are good that I can give 5/5 if ignoring the negative services (please just let us do self-service order on machine, that will save your business money too) Recommend the pistachio Paris Brest which isn’t overly sweet and works well for Asian tastes. The lemon tart was quite sharp but I like it.
Piggly W — Google review
I've been to this French pastry shop many times, but usually, I get my order to go. This time, I came here on my birthday and chose the Chocolate Vanilla Cake as my birthday cake. It was my first time eating inside the shop. I love their desserts, though I haven't been able to try every kind yet. The Pain Au Chocolat, Chocolat Twist, Pistachio Paris Brest, and Merveilleux each have their own unique characteristics. I first learned about and tried the Merveilleux here. It has many layers, and each layer has a different texture. It consists of a sandwich of two light meringues welded with whipped cream, which has been covered with whipped cream and dusted with chocolate shavings. Overall, the desserts here aren't overly sweet and are full of buttery aroma. Even if you put them in the fridge and eat them the next day, they still maintain their excellent flavor. The store isn't big, and there aren't many seats, but the interior is warm and exquisite, making for a very comfortable experience.

Je Ne Sais Quoi: $92 Later and Zero Regrets I walked in planning to “just grab a pastry.” I walked out $92 poorer, clutching a box of a dozen pastries, a cappuccino, a latte, and a mango juice like I had just robbed Fort Knox in reverse. The pastries? Each one deserves its own Netflix documentary. Croissants so flaky I left a crime scene of crumbs on my shirt. Pain au chocolat that could probably start an international conflict over cocoa rights. A raspberry tart so shiny it looked Photoshopped. Almond croissants that should come with a restraining order because I can’t stop thinking about them. The drinks? Cappuccino and latte both hit smooth, no bitterness — the kind of espresso that makes you nod slowly like you understand French philosophy. The mango juice? Bright, tropical, and probably the only healthy thing I consumed, so I pretended it balanced out the dozen butter bombs. The staff were sweet, patient, and didn’t laugh when I pointed to basically everything in the case like a kid at Disneyland. Yes, I spent $92. But honestly? That bought me enough joy to forget gas prices, politics, and my to-do list. Worth it. Verdict: Skip the diet, skip the guilt, and bring a bigger box. Je Ne Sais Quoi has me hooked.

I visit with my french friend and she loved it, me too!! The coffee is really good, I just had an Americano and added some flavor and it taste really sweet. Then we took a croissant, pain au chocolates and the yogurt puree! All of it was a 10/10! The only thing we would not recommend is the canneles, they were to hard. We do recommend to be here early if you come on the weekend , cause only after 20 min opening it was already super crowded!

Pie Sisters is a cozy bakery run by three sisters, offering a variety of sweet and savory pies. Their selection includes dozens of flavors made with seasonal ingredients, such as the standout pulled pork barbecue pie on the savory side and the delightful key lime pie for those with a sweet tooth. Customers can enjoy their pies by the slice, whole, or in single-serve portions. The establishment also offers refreshing drinks to complement their delicious pies.
After walking all around Georgetown in the heat, we stopped by Pie Sisters to cool off...didn't realize how great the pies were! We went for the mini pies and got one peach and one other (I think it was strawberry rhubarb). Packed with flavor and the right size for a quick snack. The price was also good, too. We also ordered a side of milk that was ice cold...the perfect pairing. The folks working were also super nice and chatted a bit. If you can sit by the window, it gives a nice view of Arlington and the bridge. Really enjoyed it and looking to go back again for a few more of the mini pies. Definitely worth checking out if you are in Georgetown.

Absolutely beautiful. The pie bites were smaller than i'd expected but they were sooooo goood that i bought them in slices too. The pumpkin was great, and the cookies and cream was the best pie ive ever had. Not too sweet and the cream was perfect. Finished them on the spot!

This is a little cute place away from other crowded spots in Georgetown these days. Their Pies taste very good and are fresh. Better than that their pies taste home made without a lot of sugar. The quality of their coffee and drinks however is another story and not the best in the area.

We ended up here accidentally as we were waiting somewhere else for cupcakes but it was taking too long. Ordered chicken slice and bbq pork slice. Have to say the pork was very overpowering but the chicken was well balanced. Not sure if it’s worth coming back. We also got a sweet mini pie to go and they gave the box to us with it upside down. We never got to try it.

Cute to stop and relax for a few minutes. However Pies crusts are too hard for me and the fillings are either tough or not sweet. The Jumberry Pie was good though

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is a warm and inviting German bakery and cafe that has been serving up delicious cookies, cakes, pastries, and sandwiches since 1975. Founded by Wolfgang Buchler, who hails from the German city of Heidelberg, this beloved bakery offers a wide range of year-round favorites such as apple, banana cream, blueberry, Boston cream pies and more. In addition to their regular offerings, they also have seasonal flavors like Dutch apple and pecan pies.
Update 26 January 2025: still an amazing bakery. Great options for Valentine's treats as well. Be aware they are super busy on Sunday mornings because they close earlier that day...1pm. Thanks for the tasty pastries! The Heidelberg bakery is everything you could want for German themed desserts and pantry items. This place gets really busy, so be prepared to walk in, grab a ticket, and enjoy looking around or finalizing your shopping list while you wait for your number to be called. Be ready to go when you number is called though because the team at Heidelberg is very efficient, while also being friendly; so do your part by being ready to state the items desired for your order. The desserts I tried were all good. I think my favorite was their éclair, but their cakes with fruit are delicious too. Limited parking is available at the lot in front of the shop and additional parking is available in a lot walking distance down the street. I would definitely come back. Thanks!

Everything here is delicious! We frequent Heidelberg for weekend treats so it was no question this is where we’d order our wedding cake. They set up a formal tasting that exceeded my expectations. We went in thinking we’d just have a 1-tiered small cake for the purposes of photos, but were convinced to get a full 3-tiered wedding cake and we do not regret it! The cake was delivered on time and safely and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Even better in person.

Have been a fairly regular customer over last 10 years. Pastries, cakes, breads and nice variety of deli items tasty. Prices have gone up as mish as 20% on some items over the last few years. Customer service in bakery very good most days, even on busy weekends however for a recent large catering order, items (trays of soft pretzels and dozens of dinner rolls) brought out to car without and plastic covering! Had to request these bakery items be covered....not very sanitary to say the least

I can't say enough about how good this place is! Excellent pastries, cakes, bread, cookies... the list could go on forever( P.S. the cheese sticks are the best!!). Staff is super friendly and always wanting to help can you find exactly what you're looking for. I've been coming here for at least 20 years and now my kids come here. Just awesome.

My husband and I have loved Heidelberg for years, it’s our go-to spot. So we immediately knew we wanted Heidelberg to make our wedding cake when we got engaged! Cake tasting was so fun — the wedding cake coordinator recommended some traditional ones and a unique one. I gave her an inspo photo, and next thing I know, that exact cake was at our reception. It was absolutely beautiful and so tasty. We plan to order a mini version each year for our anniversary.

LOVE this German bakery. I gladly drive over 30 minutes to visit here a few times a gear. You HAVE to try the beer cheese dip and fresh pretzels. Their sandwiches are also great. My only suggestion is that they update their decor. It's very 1990s and could use some major updates.

We've loved everything we've ever gotten from here, but I want to give huge kudos to Chef Miguel at the Slaters Ln location. He took over for Chef Kate on the order of our daughter's smash cake and did SUCH an incredible job!!! It turned out even better than I had hoped! He was very thorough and professional over the phone, and even invited me to meet him in-person to discuss my design ideas. He clearly listened to everything I said because the end result was just so perfect! I can't recommend him and the whole shop here enough. They continue to be the place we go for all of our family's special occasions and this experience reminded me of why. My sincerest thanks to Miguel and team for your expert care and craft.

Buzz Bakeshop provided the wedding cake for my and my husband’s reception, and we could not have been happier with it! I’ve actually been going to Buzz for years, so I knew early on I wanted them to provide the cake for my wedding. They provided us with a beautiful coconut cake with raspberry buttercream filling and vanilla frosting, and my sister-in-law, who’s a professional baker, even commented on how delicious it was! My only regret was not saving a piece to take home for me and my husband before our guests devoured it!

I’ve always had a good experience with Buzz - friendly staff and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS baked goods. However, my recent experience takes the cake (😉). I ordered a custom cake through their online ordering service (which I’ve used many times). When I received The text that I could go pick it up, the bakery had zero record of my order and did not have a cake prepared. They had a cake ready within three hours for me with not one percentage point less in quality. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, calm, and so helpful. This is a small business… This is community… Shop local.

Also (perhaps most important), it was DELICIOUS and everyone at the party loved it!

This place is heaven!!! Everything is GF. I am not dairy free so I didn't try anything but they have some DF items. I got the chicken pot pie meal, which was lovely and so nice to have a crust that didn't disintegrate. I also got a cheesecake which was amazing! They were testing a new bread recipe and let me try a piece. It looked like real bread! Tasted like bread! And did not feel like a brick when holding it! The employees were very kind, patient and seemed happy to be there. I will be back when I'm in the area.

I am super excited to finally find a place that offers so many appealing gluten free options that it will take several visits for me to try them all. Recently on my first visit, I enjoyed the peach-mango turnover & took home a chocolate chip cookie & lemon sugar cookie. All exceeded my expectations! Even my husband who is not gluten free enjoyed his vanilla with chocolate frosting cupcake so much that he ordered another. I cannot wait to visit again, dine in for breakfast & take more goodies home :). Oh and Dylann who served us was such a pleasure to talk to!

BEST GLUTEN FREE BAKERY!!!! Do not miss out on this amazing place!!! The pumpkin rolls are absolutely unbelievable. I went back day two and got more because I couldn’t stay away. The biscuits and gravy was the best I’ve ever had and my non gluten free friend agreed. The cinnamon twist was good and the crepe. Going back I’d order the pumpkin roll and biscuits and gravy over and over again. Nutella strudel also amazing. I’d had it at a cafe in the city and didn’t realize they bought from this place. WOW. Prices were reasonable. Employees were kind—the cashier offered to refrigerate my rolls while I ate my meal. There’s a sit down area inside, be aware it gets busy on the weekend and the line can be out the door. Can’t wait to be back on the East coast to go here again!! Thank you for serving the gluten free folks yummy treats!

I have been going to Happy Tart since they opened their location in Falls Church. I work nearby, and as a gluten-free person, it's always been a treat to have them so close. The sweets are good, the food is tasty (especially the crepes), and the staff is friendly. HOWEVER, the prices have gotten out of hand. I was charged almost $11 for a 16oz matcha the other day. Everything is extra... dairy-free alternatives are $1, flavors are $1, even having your drink iced is an extra 25 cents, not to mention a service fee and the Falls Church meals tax on top of regular tax. I understand some of these charges are unavoidable, but it's hard to support local businesses when I could go to Starbucks or DD for half the price. Even a Rare Bird matcha up the street is $2 less. Just watch what you order here because all the fees really add up.

The pastries and desserts are really good, though pricey. Love that they use custard in eclairs. We bought several cakes and they’re ok’ish, but we weren’t fans of the excessive amounts of cream & frosting used with minimal amounts of actual cake. Def try their desserts and even the bread too. Lots of parking at the back of the building.

If you're looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth, or just looking for something to accompany your Starbucks coffee, Pastries by Randolph will never disappoint.

My wife wanted a dessert so we tried here. It was great to have plenty of parking in back. Once we went in, we were greeted by friendly staff and they took our orders. While there’s no place to eat inside (bakery), there are three tables outside and the weather was gorgeous. I had the lemon meringue which very good and creamy. My wife enjoyed her creme brûlée. We still have to try the Oreo cheesecake and carrot cake.

Haven’t tried much but my first experience, I ordered the ham and cheese croissants and an eclair. While the croissant was nice and flaky, it had maybe a 1/2 slice of ham on it. I may as well have gotten a plain one. The Eclair was the best I have ever had. Filling in every bite and the chocolate icing was perfectly balanced.

Bakeshop is a cozy bakery with locations in Arlington, Falls Church, and Georgetown. They offer a wide variety of sweet treats including classic pies like pecan and pumpkin, as well as specialty flavors such as apple streusel and bourbon chocolate. In addition to pies, they also have icebox versions available in flavors like frozen hot chocolate and peanut butter Nutella. The bakery also offers bread loaves in various flavors such as pumpkin chocolate chunk and banana pecan.
Absolutely delicious bakery with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend the oaty chocolate chipwich. If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, stop here.

Delightful little bakery with cute vibes and a phenomenal selection of treats. I first fell in love with the Georgetown location of Bakeshop for its variety of vegan and gluten-free items, and the Clarendon spot is no different. They offer a ton of standard, vegan, or gluten-free cookies, cupcakes, and cakes; each one is as delicious as the next. However, if you're in the mood for something savory (and distinctly non-vegan), their breakfast sandwiches are also delightful. I passed the Clarendon Bakeshop location on my way to the metro station on a Friday morning and decided to stop to treat myself to a nice, warm breakfast. I got their everything croissant -- which is perfectly flaky and comes studded with plenty of everything bagel seasoning -- and added a scrambled egg and slice of cheese. The egg was perfectly soft and fluffy, and the melted cheese helped to bind the whole thing together. You usually have to wait for a few minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, but the space is nice and cozy, and it's a good opportunity to peruse their pastry selections.

Bakeshop is such a fun and cozy spot! The desserts are always fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious — you can taste the quality in every bite. The cookies and cupcakes are especially amazing! The coffee pairs perfectly, and the staff are super friendly and laid-back. It’s the perfect place to grab a treat, chill with friends, or just make your day a little sweeter.

The atmosphere and service were great! Also nestled in a cute part of town. I think I would have loved if this place had a bathroom. There are so many drink options and you have the ability to sit-in and enjoy your treats/ drink, but without a bathroom, it’s difficult to give this place a 5 star review. I also wish the gf items would have been clearly separated like the vegan ones were. I felt like I had to struggle to find the items they had since it didn’t match the menu online. But super grateful they had something gf to offer. I’d love a gf biscuit/ scone to add to what you already offer + more macron flavors.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The sign says "Bakes," but I say "Bliss," A gingerbread witch blew me a kiss! The cupcakes are spooks, the muffins are mummies, With icing-spun webs and sweet, sticky tummies. A pumpkin-spice ghost, a cinnamon fright, They bake all the magic, both day and through night. So five stars I give, with a cackle and cheer, Best Halloween treats of the whole wicked year!

I’ve been a loyal Bakeshop customer for years as I love their banana pudding and breakfast sandwiches. When it was time to choose a cake for our wedding, I looked into the fancy wedding cake bakeries and the economical grocery store sheet cake options. But in my heart, I knew I wanted a Bakeshop cake. The 8 in 3 layer Neapolitan cake was so delicious and picturesque as our cutting cake. Our guests also enjoyed the chocolate cake and carrot cake. We got so many compliments on how amazing our cakes were all night. We love you, Bakeshop!
Tess M — Google review
Ordered delivery for a co workers birthday. They delivered perfectly to downtown D.C. and everyone raved about the taste and presentation of the cake! Excellent experience 👏
T P — Google review
The place was neat and looks cozy. They have only indoor sittings and mostly people stop-by for takeout than dining in. Staff were eager to help and really help to provide recommendations for your likings. We had their ice cream which is the cookie vanilla sandwich and the Macaron Red Velvet ice cream. For sweet tooth go for the cookies for the mid sweet, go for the macaron. The combination was so good! We will surely go back to this place!

Colada Shop is a charming spot located in the U Street corridor, offering Cuban coffee and cuisine. The cafe has a gated patio where you can enjoy your coffee and food with your furry friend. Visitors praise the smooth Cafe Cubano and flavorful lattes. The menu also includes enticing food options like empanadas and Cuban sandwiches. At The Wharf location, guests enjoyed traditional Pina Coladas with Bacardi Ocho float along with delicious empanadas and Cuban sandwiches.
As another stated, this was some of the freshest, best tasting coffee I've had (cappuccino). Ordered the breakfast sandwich and breakfast plate. Both were good. Returned the next day and tried the beef and chicken empanadas. Both were good but the chicken tasted better. Also tried a guava/cream cheese pastry. It was OK.

We stopped here for a quick bite. We had the Colada Shop Cuban Sandwich, which was delicious. The yucca fries were very crispy, the plantain chips had generous portions, and the piña colada was frosty. The space is large and has a great atmosphere. There’s also indoor seating. All the staff were friendly!

Really great cubano. The breakfast sandwich was very light on meat but still good. A nice place to have a quick bite while walking the Wharf. It was busy on a Sunday and so the food was a bit slow to arrive but glad business was good

Delicious and efficient little place. I liked the pay from table QR system they had, and it made service quick and easy. I ordered one of the sofrito bowls and had it with both the chicken and cauliflower/mushrooms. Amazing flavors and a decent portion size too without feeling heavy. I also ordered the mint and lime spritzer which was nice and refreshing. Would to again!

Easy ordering and paying at the table through the website accessible via QR code on the table. The food came quickly and was some of the best Cuban food I’ve ever had, which is saying something since I lived in Tampa, FL for 20+ years.

I visited this tremendous bakery and coffee shop in Washington D.C.'s lively downtown Wharf district at the end of October. Nestled in the Pearl Street corridor, they offer a nice selection of savory, aromatic lattes, pastries and entrees. The brownies are especially moist!
Jessica H — Google review
Pulled pork hash on yucca. So good. The pork had great flavor and the yucca was on point. With it didn't come with plastic utensils but easy to forget about after the first bite. So glad I stumbled into the fun spot!
Erika O — Google review
I feel a little mean writing this, but this restaurant wouldn't last a year in business in Miami or NYC. It could only last in a city with minimum competition for cuban restaurants. The ambiance is nice and the menu boasts impressive options. We got cuban sandwiches and I got the new shrimp special. Also ordered a mango tea. The mango tea was the biggest disappointment. It was just a plain black tea, zero flavor whatsoever outside of black tea. The shrimp dish came with a salad with no dressing or seasoning and yucca fries. Yucca fries were good, but I asked for aioli and they completely forgot about it, and it took 10 minutes to get the waitress to notice us again as we were generally ignored. It definitely affected our eating experience to be ignored for so long. The shrimp was a disappointment as they used the lowest quality tiny cocktail shrimp. It would have been so much better if they used large shrimp. The cuban sandwich was good but frankly, the one at Casta's rum bar is better. Would not return.

Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe is a warm and inviting spot that offers a variety of breakfast options, light meals, and homemade sweet treats alongside specialty coffee. The veteran-owned establishment has been serving its all-day food menu since April, featuring bar service and Intelligentsia Coffee. Their bakery case is filled with tempting goodies including classic hand-cut yeast and cake doughnuts in unique flavors such as honey-dipped, poached-pear, and chorizo.
Delicious. Just well made doughnuts. Love coming here on as Saturday with some friends before heading out around town to explore the city. Best donut shop in the area and definitely worth stopping by. It is a tad expensive but again worth the price for the quality that you get.
Sarah M — Google review
I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of Good Company and the fact that you can get miniature versions of the big fancy doughnuts! I got the chocolate pistachio mini version and surprised at how sweet I found it. I believe it was a great doughnut but I will probably stick to something a little less sugary next time :) I tried the pork belly breakfast sandwich and ordered lime crema on the side. I believe the crema absolutely made the sandwich go from “pretty good” to “delicious”. The pork belly could be seasoned more.

I’ve always enjoyed your food and appreciated the good service from your company. My favorite item has been the steak and cheese, and I usually look forward to ordering it. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. I ordered my usual steak and cheese last Sunday, but this time it was not up to your usual standards. As you can see from the attached photo, there was barely any meat in the sandwich, and the taste was off as well. It felt like a waste of money, which was surprising given how much I normally enjoy your food. I’m not sure what happened this time, but I hope it was just an isolated incident. I’d really appreciate it if you could look into this. Thank you for your time.
Dashka D — Google review
Possibly the best breakfast sandwich, I ever had in Northern Virginia. The Veggie Egg and Cheese. Staff is always really nice too and the coffee is great.
Hisham A — Google review
Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe is a must-visit for breakfast or a leisurely afternoon. I've been a regular in recent weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. The Pastrami Breakfast Sandwich is a standout. The pastrami is perfectly cooked and the flavors are incredible. I'd happily eat this on anything! The Breakfast Burrito (with chorizo) and the Breakfast Sandwich with cream cheese and pesto are also delicious, though I’d recommend the latter on a bagel. The doughnuts are, as you might expect, fantastic. However, at $4 each, they're a bit of a splurge for me. The mocha latte and nitro cold brew are both excellent and provide a great morning boost. The service at this place is great. The woman at the donut window (Unfortunately I didn't catch her name, but you'll know) just lights up the space and makes every customer feel so welcome; her joy is contagious. Highly recommend!

Had an uber eats order yesterday! The Mocha Espresso donut was sold out! They replaced it with some kinda cinnamon donut and I couldnt eat it! I never got a heads up until after it was delivered.I tried disputing this on uber eats but they said its not eligible for a refund.
Reeree — Google review
I was a bit disappointed. I came here for vegan donuts, and they only had one vegan flavor. The donut was 4.90, which is more than I've ever seen for a vegan donut. I would be OK with the price if it meant the staff was being well taken care of, but I was still asked for a tip while paying. The donut was OK but nothing special. Finding street parking was easy (I went on a weekday afternoon), but even that seemed a bit overpriced at almost $4/hour. Donut run is a much better option for vegan donuts: easier parking, cheaper, bigger and tastier donuts
Vania H — Google review
Amazing donuts in creative flavor combinations are reason enough to visit. Super fast and friendly service, a chill vibe and good coffee are reasons to hang out a while and savor. No dedicated parking here but plenty of public garages nearby.

Southern restaurant (US)
Henry's Soul Cafe is a small, casual eatery with two locations in Maryland and D.C., known for its classic soul food dishes like fried chicken wings and their signature sweet potato pie. Established in 1968 by Henry E. Smith, the restaurant has become a staple for Southern cuisine and family tradition. Visitors rave about the mouthwatering fried chicken wings paired with their famous mumbo sauce, as well as generous portion sizes.
I travel to the DMV frequently and have heard so much about this spot and I’m so glad I stopped by!You can feel the love when you walk through the door. I visited twice during my week stay, that speaks for itself. I ordered the chicken wings (fried to perfection and seasoned very well, Mac & cheese was divine, candied yams were delish, and the woman who greeted me (I forgot her name unfortunately) recommended their sweet potato pie - they’re known for it, it was 10/10, I also enjoyed their greens. All of the food was made fresh and I left with fresh food, excellent service and warm smiles each time I visited. The food couldn’t wait until the hotel, I had to snap pics immediately in the car and sample a bite of EVERYTHING. See you next month!

Omg on vacation for a long weekend decided to give this place a try. It was a complete 10/10. Got the catfish and smothered porkchop. The sides yams, cabbage and mashed potatoes on point and cornbread. I recommend it if you want soul food from a fellow Alabama girly. 🤏👏

The best food I’ve tried in DC!! The place was warm and welcoming, and the quality-to-price ratio was excellent. I had some fried chicken, mac&cheese, and a potato salad paired with an amazing strawberry lemonade (still dreaming about it) 😍 They also have a restroom and a few bar seats to sit! Merci

I was in town staying at the Washington Hilton. We ate most meals in the hotel. But I wanted Soul Food. I ran there mostly to get there by 6 PM. They worked with at the last minute. Pleasant staff and delicious baked chicken. Who knows, I might drive up for turkey wings.

My boyfriend and I visited this place because we wanted Soul food and we heard great things about this place. They did not dissapoint. I got cornbread, greens, mac and cheese, 6 wings, and a sweet potatoe pie. The lemonade was very good. I will def come back when ever I come back to town.

Let me tell yall, from a girl down south. This food tasted like Florida food. Like somebody grandma in the back singing church music. I went to alot of places in the VA trying to find soul food, guess what $300 letter we did. 20/20

First & foremost as much money as this establishment makes I would think they would invest in a ‘WET FLOOR SIGN’ im currently pregnant & easily could of slipped. Customer service from management/ short light skin black hair cook in the back is POOR. I didnt catch her name which is why i described how she looked. Didnt see a hair net or gloves on at all coming to & from the kitchen. Greens were horrible seemed rushed with BIG CHUNKY STALKS left on greens & undercooked and no seasoning. I get stuffed chicken all the time which comes with stuffing today it seems as though the staff was eager to leave rushing to make orders as my plate had the smallest scoop of stuffing doused with souch gravy to the point where the stuffing was so overloaded with gravy it was soggy before even leaving out the establishment. I work in food service so as paying customer when I asked for a separate container of stuffing without gravy( as I was not eating right then & there) instead of the lady cook providing a courtesy container for the inconvenience as she can see the gravy is overloaded she replied very rudely “thats not how this work” and initially wanted to take the already paid for container of food back in the back kitchen just to remove the small scoop of stuffing that was going in the trash anyway because it’s already been opened & touched by the customer. Im concerned for health reasons of cross contamination & saving scraps of food to use for other customers after me because normally I’ve never witnessed such a thing at other restaurants. Maybe she wanted to save for herself to enjoy a snack in the back on her break after a long hard day of working in a hot kitchen.& the mac was mid. Its 2025 Work on better customer service & better presentation.

My friend and I walked in yesterday around late lunch time and the nice lady at the front asked what we wanted and directed us to the menu at the front. I had some fried fish with yams and mac and so did my friend except he got the smothered pork chops. Tender meat, the fish was fresh and delicious and I am for sure coming back for more! Thank you so much the yummy food, it really fed our souls!!! DELICIOUS 12/10 🤩

Nestled in the heart of the community, Village Sweet Bakery is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. With an array of seasonal offerings, their Thanksgiving menu features innovative pies like pumpkin with cider crust and chocolate bourbon pecan drizzled with salted caramel. For Valentine's Day, indulge in treats such as royal wedding layer cake and brown sugah cupcakes topped with spiced graham buttercream.
We ordered cookies, brownies, and scones for a church Christmas event. They were so delicious and everyone was raving about them! They have the most amazing gluten free scones that even non GF people tried and thought were fantastic. It was such a pleasure working with Village Sweet! We were delighted with everything!

As I entered, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods. The kitchen is open and faces the shop area at the back. Improving ventilation could enhance the overall experience as the smell lingers inside. The lighting is soft, creating a warm atmosphere. The central counter features the cashier and various baked items on display. The coffee was decent, and while the chocolate orange scone was acceptable, it wasn't the best I've ever had. The breakfast bread with zucchini was moist, while the red velvet cookie was impressive. There are several seating areas with tables and chairs available.

I’m always on a quest for the perfect cinnamon bun. I’ve found it. This bakery has a great selection of beautiful pastries and treats. They also have the most beautiful decorated, themed sugar cookies. I can’t wait to have a need/event to order them for! I love that the seating is varied. I enjoy cozy, dimly lit warmth, but you can sit by the window if you prefer that! I’m so happy to have found this place. Lastly, the offering are not only lovely, but HUGE! Beyond worth the money. 🧁

Neighborhood Provisions, a catering service by Neighborhood Restaurant Group, offers a variety of delectable treats and meal options for delivery or pickup. From ginger orange cake to holiday cookie boxes and take-and-bake cinnamon rolls, they have something for every craving. During the pandemic, they seamlessly transitioned into a grocery/meal pickup and delivery service with rave reviews on their grill packs, date night meals, and weekly specials. Customers praise their top-notch customer service and professional delivery process.
Andrea and the outstanding Neighborhood Provisions Team have done two events for me. The first was a multi-day breakfast, lunch, and dinner drop-off. Each meal was healthy, fresh, and delicious. We did not get tired of the food because there was a lot of variety. The food was wholesome and allowed us to maintain our energy. The second event was a funeral catering. I emailed Andrea, we had about five minutes worth of back and forth, and I did not spend another moment thinking about the catering. They continue to exceed my expectations and will always get my first call.

Their grill packs, date night meals, and weekly specials are delicious and the portions are more than adequate. Their customer service and delivery process is top-notch, speedy, and professional. I've been able to order most everything I need from them during the stay at home order and they've come through every time. Highly recommended!

We had our daughter’s graduation party catered by Neighborhood Provisions. Start to finish it was a pleasure working with this group. The food was ready on time, thoughtfully packaged and most importantly delicious. I also appreciate the care taken to label everything with ingredients, allergy indicators and serving instructions. Very very well done!

Excellent food, groceries, drinks and more!! Professional delivery service that is always on time (they text and communicate the morning of delivery day to tell you when they’re on their way). The red apron butcher has amazing meats. And marinated meats/ burger and sausage packages, that taste excellent! I’ve used them more than 5 times and have made it a weekly ritual to order from neighborhood provisions!

I have been ordering from NRGP since during the pandemic. Best place to get out of market beers - Wakefield, vitamin sea etc. Bourbon and spirits selection is also fantastic. I had an issue with an order, someone stole the package. These folks went out of there way to replace the package including the rare bottle of Weller. That says enough on my opinion.
