Great satay at East Coast Park Food center.
Haron Satay is one of my go-to stalls for satay. I will order their chicken and mutton satay. The mutton satay is great tasting! It’s served with sliced cucumber and red onions.
I also got the Ketupat (Boiled rice cake) which paired well with the satay peanut sauce.
They used to have babat satay (tripe), but no longer sell it.
Prices are $1 for a stick of satay. Minimum order applies. The ketupat costs $0.50.

Satay without onion is like a man lacks of motivation or soul, it looks okay but not okay.
I requested to have a bit more onions, the staff was willing to give but the Mak Cik (lady owner) tahan (stopped) him and refused my request without any explanation. Onion is not very pricey but at least let me know either you guys is not sufficient for next customers (but I saw whole bag there).
In short, the food is nice, I can guarantee this is the most authentic satay Melayu. Waited for 20 mins only for the chicken satay and 40 mins for the chicken wings although they were ordered during the peak hour. But if you wanna request more like sauce, onion, etc, then quite impossible.
I will be back next time and test them again. If the same thing happen I will write the review again.

Used to be better. The beef satay is hard and cold. Like frozen and not juicy at all. The satay gravy was too little as well in a tiny bowl. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Super bad service. Ordered chicken wings at 9.30pm, promised 1 hour of wait. Fine we waited. @1030pm, we checked in decided to take-away as we have finish consumed all our other food, yet was informed still got many orders. At 10.45pm, we checked again, "oven spoiled". The lady said other people are affected too. Refunded the money and there were so many customers who got refunded. Some of thr staff already went back home which is ridiculous. To owner and staff, demand > supply + efficiency. If you can't take in a lot of orders, set a time limit to stop incoming orders. And if the oven got problem, call out all the existing buzzer and initiative to do a service recovery to refund back instead of customers having to go to the stall after so long of wait. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, trust me you will wait longer than 1 hour. THIS IS MY LAST.

No more Harun Satay for me after this bad experience. I was at the stall on 31 Oct at about 7.30 pm. No queue
I ordered 30 sticks of satay & some chicken wings. The lady who took my order wrote my name on a styrofoam plate & told me to collect my order in 10 minutes time. I was not given a buzzer which is their usual practice.I returned about 15 mins later & the lady who took my order told me to return 10 mins later. Upon returning she told me it is still not ready. Other customers were already getting their orders. I told her that I had returned twice and why is my order still not ready. She rudely told me that I must have patience & wait. Then she told her assistant sarcastically to tell get my order as I am a very hungry customer. In the same breath said that she will be nice to nice people only. I was perplexed, annoyed at the shoddy treatment I received. They continued to make me wait & refused to give the chicken wings. I had to keep asking & askimg ad both women ignored me. Rudeness beyond belief!! Some of the satay were skinny and badly burnt & cld not be eaten. I am a long time customer & have not given other stalls a chance. It will be my last time with Harun Satay. Will also tell family members & friends to give other stalls a chance. No more orders for my home parties & celebrations. This is not the way to treat customers. There will be a day when they will have to solicit for customers if they continue with this attitude…Good luck to Harun Satay…. I am done with you…so biadab tanpa sebab!

Really poor experience overall. The service was unfriendly and came across as quite rude, which already set a bad tone. After a long wait, the satay we received was disappointing – some sticks were cold, and the meat was far too sweet, almost as if the sugar was used to mask the freshness of the meat.
For such a long wait, the quality was unacceptable. Between the rude service, inconsistent cooking, and questionable taste, I left feeling very disappointed. Definitely not worth the time or money.

After seeing so many rave food reviews, I finally get to savour their satay. I ordered mutton satay and the wait was not that long on a Thursday evening - about 20 minutes. To be honest, I am quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of the mutton satay. The amount of meat is rather generous. The satay is crispy from the charcoal grill and tender at the same time when biting into it. It is slightly on the sweet side but not overly sweet. It is really very enjoyable.

This is a Satay stall that I frequent regularly.
The star item here is the pork belly satay, which they sell, in addition the usual chicken and pork satay.
Most stalls don’t sell pork belly satay.
The meat for the pork belly satay is well marinated and the slivers of pork fats gives an added flavor to the satay.
The chicken and pork satay are great too.
They also sell ketupat (rice cakes) that are made the traditional way - wrapped in woven coconut leaves, instead of the instant plastic bag wrapped ones.
They are generous with the peanut dip, which is tasty too.
Highly recommended!

Always my default if craving for satay! Best of all… they have pork belly satay though costing $1.60 each… it can be a bit expensive….
The chicken satay’s portion was acceptable but most importantly, it’s the marinate which offers a sweet caramelised taste balancing with the char bbq smokiness and meaty bite!
Ketupat to me is old school! You can really get the rice bite and taste unlike many that are mashed up.
Gravy is a tad watery but still packs a good flavor enough to coast each stick.
I do wish more onions are given vs the cucumber slices but that’s a personal preference!
My go-to not comparing with the Muslim version.

Only cash payment is possible. I recommend to come as soon as possible. They were out of the mutton version at 1pm and 2 hours later they were completely sold out and the stall was closed a couple hours early overall, so I had to go there the next day. Surprisingly, the chicken satay tasted fresh and delicious.
I would have preferred a little more char on the meat, but the seasoning was on point and the satay gravy was nicely balanced.

有好多年没有在这里吃过饭了，啤酒涨价不少，以前25新元一扎的生啤，现在要33元了。

Donkey and I were on a staycation nearby and had a late-night craving for Mee Goreng. We couldn't find any, but luckily stumbled upon Chong Pang Huat Eating House. We decided to give their Hokkien Mee a try and enjoyed a cup of tea and coffee.
The Hokkien Mee was decent, a bit on the dry side, but it was a good option for a late-night meal in the area. Latest visit: seems like an entirely different place now. Frankly the food is terrible, the white beehoon tasted like fish soup and even the Hokkien mee with thumbs up tasted bland. Chicken wings were burnt and dry. I feel like the worst part is that the ingredients are not fresh.

Saw this on socials and have been wanting to try it. Visited a few times prior and they were closed as they sold out before the closing hours.
This time came to try on a weekend afternoon and there was not much of a wait as there were only 3 customers ahead of me.
I ordered a mee rebus and a tahu goreng. Added a bergedil and the total cost was $8. Rather reasonable though the bergedil was smaller than the typical ones I have eaten.
First I didn't like the flimsy styrofoam plates. Next I didn't like it that the plates were so oily wherever I tried to hold, and there were no trays to put 2 plates I had to hold a plate on each hand and both were so oily almost slipped out of my hands.
First tried the mee rebus. I would say it was pretty decent and nothing much to fault.
The only problem came with the tahu goreng. I felt it was one of the more inferior ones I have tried. The gravy was too watery to begin with, hence it doesn't have much flavours too. The tahu was also not of the best, it was cold and the texture was pretty hard, and the tahu itself had a sour taste not on the whole but on several pieces. It just turned out to be a very flimsy dish as well, usually you get like loads of beansprouts but this just covered the tahu in the dilute peanut sauce and randomly sprinkled some greens on it. Not sure if it was the sourness had a bit of stomach discomfort the next day.
Would say the mee rebus is worth trying but the tahu goreng definitely has to be a miss. I hope it's just some one off incident and doesn't happen to other customers.

Came by for early lunch. Was attracted ny how the paru-paru looks and decided to order their Nasi Rawon. Plate came with sambal sotong, paru, bergedil and serunding. Sambal sotong is well cooked, the paru or lungs is the highlight for me. Most paru comes dry and tough, over here, it is chewy and little moist,well marinated, very flavourful. To my surprise, bergedil is served warm., the outer crust is even slightly crisp. Definitely be back.

Sedapness depends on one's tastebud, some like it with a lot of MSG, some are sensitive. But if you are worried about getting cancer and lead a healthy lifestyle, then this is not for you.
Nicely marinated mutton pieces, arranged with alternate rows of succulent fatty parts, shows that the owner do care about making a good satay. Generous amount of kunyit, halbas marinate.
Grilled to perfection with a charred carcinogenic burnt proteins, nothing beats satay solo (when eaten right off the griller).
The mutton is less sweeter than before and it was delicious.
Sometimes, temperatures do runs high due to the long list of orders, facing heat in a small cubicle, so spare some thought or just skip if you're in a rush. Hawkers are mere mortals, like you and me at work.
Weekends wait could be up to 45min which pakcik will let you know upfront before you put in your order. (Usually other stall is the same so why not satay solo instead?)

2022 update:
It's back to the standard of it's glory days! We reconfirmed by heading there twice in the past 2 weeks just to be sure becuase it was Horrible 4 yrs ago (ref below). The Kambing is now wonderful with coarse ground spices and the traditional piece of lemak in the centre. Nicely terbakar too. Sedikit hangus - best! Babat is also grilled nicely so that it ends up crispy on the outside but soft and not too chewy on the inside. The only thing I grumble about now is the hati selalu habis! At this standard, I have no issues with the increased price at 90cents a stick. Other places charging the same can't deliver this standard. Re-adding to the Happier Choice Food Trail list.
My earlier 2018 review:
Ref. Photos. The meat here these days is hard and dry. The only thing saving it from 1 star is the spice mix which remains nice and flavourful as it has always been. The portion of meat on each stick has also somewhat shrunk! The sauce also seems to be missing but I don’t know what it is. Just plain peanut flavour now and nothing else. No detectable spice at all. This is No Longer on my list for places to go to for satay.

Located a few minutes from garden by the bay, this satay had a long queue compared to the one nearby. The difference is that this store offers pork satay which the other store doesn’t. I am thoroughly disheartened by our experience at Violet Oon. The service was not just subpar; it was discriminatory and disrespectful. Right from the start, the staff treated us poorly, but what was worse was their condescending attitude towards my wife. Because she is from China, she was subjected to demeaning stereotypes, treated as if she could not understand English, which was not only embarrassing but outright racist. It is appalling to witness such behavior in a place that should embody the spirit of hospitality and respect. To all potential visitors, please know that this place failed to treat us with the basic dignity we all deserve. No one, regardless of their origin, should experience what we did. I strongly advise against visiting if you expect equitable and respectful service.

Tried this place today and was really impressed! All the food was delicious — full of flavor and surprisingly healthy. The lady boss mentioned that they cook everything without oil, which is unbelievable considering how tasty it was. You can really tell they put care into making the meals wholesome without compromising on taste.

This local eatery was one of the famous and popular restaurant specialize in Indonesian cuisines. Strategies location, great attraction to tourists and locals too.
In fact, their foods was very similar to local Malay Nasi Padang, variety of dishes, selection from protein meat like chicken, beef, lamb etc, to seafood like fish, prawn, squid, cutterfish etc. And a lot of vegetable dishes and some carbs too.
Similarly like Malay cuisine, Indonesian foods are also focused on great flavours with spices which savory met spicy flavours. It was really delicious and flavourful, especially those with coconut cream like curry or spicy dishes.
Unfortunately, their serving was not so great and yet pricing was quite high. Perhaps, the strategy touristy location causing them to charge more. Honestly speaking, this wasn't a air-conditioned restaurant, yet charging at such high price, this probably a big disappointment for some tourists who already can't tolerance of Singapore hot and humid weather.
As seen on the photos I shared, my plate of rice which contains of 1 piece of red spice chicken (Ayam Merah) and 2 vegetables includes of sweet potato leaf, and eggplant. This plate cost me $9. Not that affordable for daily meal as local. Perhaps once a while for craving satisfaction.
Overall, if you loves local Malay foods or specifically Indonesia style cuisines. I really recommend all to try. Unless you are local who know where to find good Nasi Padang, you may skip it. 🤗

Remember to eat the black olive inside the meat platter set, really perfect sweet and saltiness. The raw meat presentation is really nice too. Visited the famous satay street at Lau Pa Sat and ended up trying Ina Satay at Stalls 14 & 19. While the most popular stalls seem to be 7 & 8, their line was insane—about a 45-minute wait—so I decided to go with this one instead.
The prices were definitely on the higher side, which is understandable as this is a well-known tourist spot. That said, the vibe and atmosphere of the street more than made up for it. The smell of grilling satay, the bustling energy, and the open-air setting made it a memorable experience.
As for the food, the satay platter was amazing! Perfectly grilled, flavorful, and paired with a rich peanut sauce—it didn’t disappoint. If you’re visiting, it’s worth coming here for the experience and the food, even if the prices are a bit steep.

Order for 2 but takes more than 30minutes for the food to be done.
Worst! it was served cold. The beef and mutton was chewy and hard to swallow.

Wanted to try other satay stalls but they were ushering for us to buy from them instead. Did not want to waste time so we decided to buy from them. Waited for more than 30 mins after ordering and still no satays served. During this 30 mins, they kept ushering for more people to buy from them instead of focusing on the current pending orders. When it came to ordering, we were directed to a QR code without any information about any specials or promotions. We believe that using the QR code eliminates the personal touch well-needed in a dining experience. And we had so many questions but were left unassisted.
We opted for the fried fish and black pepper beef dishes. The fish was expertly prepared, with a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness. Amazing Food at an amazing price. Bbq stingray sauce was perfect. Not too spicy. Satay was juicy. Ox Tail soup was perfectly cooked with a perfect blend of spices. Carrot Milk was delicious. Hubby ordered Soto Ayam, I had mutton and Babat Satay. It was super tender and well seasoned, better than satay club. Soto Ayam gravy was not thick and not watery. Consistency was just right but chilli wasn't spicy. Of coz you could ask for more. Daughter was unwell so she had nuggets (mind you it was so soft better than 'some' fast food restaurants.

The peanut sauce was the best I ever had, perfectly in taste and it still had crunchy crushed peanuts inside. This food made my day! I was prepared to give a bad review as I had an insanely long wait (~1/2 hr). The rice wasn’t ready yet as they had mentioned upon ordering but the wait time was way longer than the estimated time provided.
However, I really couldn’t leave a bad review as the food was a 6/5! Super good, I was impressed. I ordered the Ayam Betutu Bakar, a grilled chicken dish. The entire plate was amazing!
Firstly, the chicken itself was so tender and grilled to perfection. The char/grilled aroma was so nice.
It’s my first time trying Balinese sate, and it was so good! Seasoned well and so fragrant, plus tender meat. Easy to eat!
The whole dish came with half boiled egg, onion side dish and long bean side dish. Topped with fried shallots and some light sauce. Everything went so well together!
The whole dish came together really well! Wasn’t dry at all, super flavorful dish. Plus, it’s a good price point for yummy Balinese food. I wanna try the whole menu next time~
Apart from the wait for rice which could be improved, the service was good. They offered complimentary drink for the wait and politely apologized several times too.
I will revisit again next time! Definitely give it a try (if there’s no wait)!

I missed the dish so much, I came back again! This time I got the Ayam Betutu Original. It’s a steamed version. Omg I loved this even more than the grilled one! The chicken was superrrr tender and well marinated. Normally I’d imagine steamed chicken to be plain, but this one was packed with flavor in every bite. The topping/condiment for this set is slightly spicy. I’m changing my review to a 5*! I’ve fallen in love with the food 😅 Next time I’ll try the fried chicken one~

They’ve opened for the new year~ I went to try the Ayam Betutu Goreng, the fried chicken version! The chicken was tender and nicely crisp (not oily and freshly fried). Batter is not too thick, and marinated nicely. Slightly spicy!
I tried the yellow rice with this dish, flavor is quite mild as the spices from the chicken overpower the rice. Next time I’ll stick to white rice!

Tried the original and chicken Bakar (bbq). Both superb! If anything would prefer the Original version. The meat was full of flavour and succulent. The chili and veg on the sides were excellent as well. Whole dish just full of explosive flavours from Bali. Need a bubble tea to cool down afterwards as some part of the chilli can be spicier, but not those levels that will alarm you. Heard of the Balinese cuisine here and finally had it for lunch. I didn’t feel like having rice so I just ordered the Mujair Nyat Nyat (fried tilapia) and it didn’t disappoint, even though it took a while to prepare. It was served with spices heaped onto the fish. I was looking for a BbQ company for my company event and I chanced upon EzqBBQ on the internet as I like their professional setup and decided to give it a try. The price was reasonable with serving of lamb, beef and squid, etc. Communication was easy via WhatsApp with Ann and she answered all my answers and revising my quotations patiently as I kept making changes even until the day before the event.
The BBQ team Rina, Simon and Ah Thang arrived on time that day and helped with the setup and BbQ nicely. I was surprised they actually used charcoal to BBQ. They also helped to top up the food, updating me the food status. I was very worried about the food portion initially and luckily the portion was just nice with a bit leftover.
Guests commented that the food were nice especially the otah burger, Cajun chicken and roast beef. I will definitely book with them again!

I had a really last minute request (24-49 hours) and the admin was very response from order enquiries through confirmation phase. The delivery was extremely prompt with advance calls. My order was livegrill w chef support. The set up was extremely excellent and the service crew was very attentive and friendly! We tried the chicken, mutton, beef, and duck satay – all were outstanding. Each skewer was beautifully charred, tender, and packed with flavour, perfectly complemented by the rich and aromatic peanut sauce. Hands down the best satay we’ve ever had. Love their Lontong! They put tempe slices which make it very unique. The lontong gravy also nicely pair with the ketupat and not jelak at all. Can tell they put hearts into every details, even the ketupat taste more fragrant and soft than the usual ketupat.

Okay so Ive purchased from this stall as recommended by many Singapore food bloggers which I do not want to name as you can evidently find on Youtube or any other social medias. I am not sure about the standard that drops or can pick up again. I mean if it's about food quality personally I feel it shouldn't be erratic. I bought their pisang goreng and 4 cups of chicken satay to try and it was a disappointment as the pisang goreng is just so so (I've honestly tried others that are way better). As for the satay it was totally out as the marinade lack of spices hence making the chicken taste ordinary and as for the gravy it was sour and i believe i saw other review that mentioned that the gravy is spoilt. So my honest review differs from that of the food bloggers though. Honest honest honest review is that there should not even be one star sorry to say; I rate based on the food that was prepared by the shop. So nope this shop is totally not for me ❌. Now the other 3 satay cups are going to the bin. Such a waste.

The restaurant is open but could not serve food cos the cashier is late for work. They must do something about this. I ordered lotong is excellent. Pleased with my food today. For just 18, I got a bowl with brown rice, pork jowl, enoki mushrooms, zucchini, and a sous vide egg. Portion was very generous for the price. We came here after a heavy breakfast so didn't try the recommended pasta. Had the nanyang coffee , hainanese and western satay. The star was the hainanese satay which you need to pre-order at least 1 week before. Very good quality pork skewer and the sauce was the bomb! Glad they found this Tiong Bahru satay uncle. Very good customer service. 1 star less of full score as the coffee was pretty standard. We prefer more gao type. Will be back for satay and the bobo cha cha that was sold out today.

Went on 23rd August 2020 to do a takeaway. Stall mended by 2nd generation. Was told I had to wait for half an hour and I was fine about it coz I was a frequent customer of their parents. The satay I received later was cold and I was very disappointed. In trying to grow the business, they had forgotten the essence of satay making especially when i had ordered mutton. Mutton satay has a piece of fat in between and supposed to be served hot so that it has a melt in the mouth texture and since it was cold, the fat hardens.. meat was overcooked as well.. poor control of fire..

We generally love satay but this one we had to make ourselves eat them so as not to waste. I have been buying chicken wings & Otahs from this outlet since this shopping mall open. Recently they changed their staff. A short hair chinese lady had a very bad attitude. I told her i wanted 2 otahs & 2 3 joints wings. And she replied here all is otah, what do you want?
