My favorite desserts are the tiramisu and the mocha chocolate cheesecake. Both of those items are incredible. My wife enjoys the pistachio cake that they make. I also enjoy the Paczki that they make. Paczki is a polish donut. They don’t always have it on regular basis, but when they do, it’s amazing! Overall, I highly recommend Bakery Nouveau if your looking to satisfy your dessert craving, or if you’re just looking for some coffee or lunch type of food!

Walking in it was a small quaint cafe with only a few tables, which was fine. We were intending to leave with our product anyway! Large selection of Macarons, danishes, croissants, cookies, and more. We selected a strawberry pistachio cake slice, a chocolate covered Madeline, a honey pecan scones, and a pear Danish. I will say it felt a little rushed getting through the line, but it was 9am and they were busy. It just made it hard to get a good look at everything, if we had more time I think we would have chosen different or more options. We got to the car and opened the strawberry pistachio slice, it was good, however way too sweet for my liking, unfortunately couldn't finish it. The Madeline was good! But a bit more dense than we were use to. The scone was for a friend, they really enjoyed it (it smelled and looked good) and last the pear Danish was for my boyfriend. I stole a bite and that was the star of the show! Amazing Danish. I will return again to try other items in the future.

I love the breakfast options and my favorite sandwiches are the ham & cheese baguette, California club, and BLT. I love you can get a slice of cake if you’re solo or want to try several options. Three downsides to consider. 1. Bread, breakfast, and sandwiches sell very quickly so try and get there before noon so you don’t miss out. 2. West Seattle store is very small & narrow and the lines often go into the street and it’s a bit chaotic honestly especially if it’s your first visit. Hang in there and try and go with the flow of others and you’ll be okay. However, if crowded social spaces make you anxious, this place may trigger you during busy times. 3. They’re closed Mondays & Tuesdays 😩 So try and stock up breads, etc on Sundays if you’ll have a craving. I also want to mention how amazing ALL their staff are. Always polite and kind and patient while you order. I’ve been a regular here -sometimes weekly- for four years and I’ve always had a positive experience (minus the crowded shop) with the friendly staff. Definitely recommend if you’re craving decadent pastries and cake or need a fancy cake for a special occasion. And the bread - good variety. Between the two of us we ordered an iced mocha (way too sweet, do not recommend), a cappuccino and some food - almond fold, chocolate thumbprint, lingonberry tart and the onion cheese puff. I honestly am pretty disappointed in how the cake came out. When I received it I immediately thought that it didn’t look like red velvet cake at all, and I’d see red velvet cake in the shop before that looked completely different. I asked the person working at the time of pickup and they confirmed that it was red velvet. I took the cake home and served it just a few hours later. It was hard and very dry. we felt that it had been made too long, maybe even days before and just kept in their fridge. The top layer of frosting was so dry it cracked apart as we cut it. We’ve had many, many gluten free/vegan cakes before and none of them were like this. On top of that the cake was certainly not red velvet and tasted nothing like red velvet. Of the 8 people I served the cake to, all of them agreed that it tasted nothing like red velvet. I’m upset considering this was quite an expensive cake for the size. On top of all this, the worker in the store said I “probably couldn’t get a refund because” I “ordered in store and non online” has anyone ever heard of that?? They have a variety of items ranging from cakes, pastries and coffee along with full lunch/dinner menu celebrating Salvadorean culture. They also have a small selection of grocery items too. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too.

Stopped by this morning to load up on pastries for family that was visiting, got a few tea cakes and donuts some savory treats like the gruyere and shallots croissants and tried some new things with the miso caramel cookie. When I went the line was wrapped out the door and I was concerned it would take forever but staff had things moving quickly and smoothly without making me feel rushed. They keep this to as authentic and minimally processed as possible and it really reflects in flavor and how you feel after eating. The barista eventually started taking drink orders from the line. It took us 20ish minutes before we were able to get in through the door - we got two mochas, the chocolate almond croissant, a blueberry scone and a spinach and feta pastry. The croissant and pastry were super crispy but felt a bit too oil for my palette unfortunately. The scone was just ok. So was the coffee. It also seems like they don’t come with the side salads or chips anymore but cost the same, which is so small but again just makes everything seem more disappointing. I had hoped it was a one-off issue, but this most recent time was the third experience like this. Overall the meal quality is so low now and it’s disappointing, since I have loved this place for years. I've noticed that since receiving several one-star and two-star reviews, they have begun asking customers who walk in to provide five-star reviews to improve their image. When you invest so much time, energy, and money into creating something special for your party, you expect a bakery to deliver something equally special. Honestly, I could have made cookies with an 8 yr old that would turn out better than what I ordered from this bake shop. There are many other bakeries to choose from in the Seattle Metro area. The cookies from Metropolitan Market were a huge hit and no one even cared about the cookies from Seatown Sweets (as I said earlier the presentation was completely compromised so it wasn't that enticing to lay out busted up cookies on a tray). It's mind-boggling that the owner would act in such an unprincipled manner. If the owner reaches out by phone or email and provides a partial refund or a full refund for my order, I will definitely update my review and increase my star rating. Until then, I ask that you not support a bakery that doesn't know how to problem solve in an ethical and principled manner.
