The entrance has a menu on the outside for your review but I would recommend to just go inside and try it out. The place is split into a bar only section and two long narrow sit down sections. It has both bench and table type seating. You will be close to others as the seating is close to one another. The servers were all wonderful! They made you feel right at home and welcome. The drinks never went empty and the amount of times we were checked on was perfect. The food was amazing! We had their bourbon signature burger and their wings&drummies appetizers. All burgers come on a pretzel bun, which I don't normally like but this one was delicious. The burger was full of flavor with a slight sweetness from the sauce. I would definitely get it again! The wings were delicious as well with 8 being more than enough to fill you. We will definitely stop back in the next time we are looking for a good place to eat and have a drink.

The bun was a cheap bun that easily falls apart, it does taste decent though. The spicy coleslaw was ehh and fried onions untastable.the bbq sauce doesn't stand out. The pulled pork was tender and again tasted average. I upgraded the side for $2 to the Carolina Baked Beans. They were not good. Maybe it's the carolina. I LOVE baked beans and I didn't finish these. By far the best thing was the pickles. Slightly spicy and delicious. The service was excellent. Super friendly and efficient. They did a great job keeping my drink full. Overall a 3 star review. It could have been a two, however service was excellent and the food overall was average, so 3 seems right. Would I return? No. I don't live close and while the other food is probably much better, if a bbq place can't do a simple pulled pork well, it's a pass to me.

We next heard a loud scream of “go packers” from a person at the bar that continued yelling in what appeared to be a drunken state. My wife ordered smelt and French onion soup. I ordered the steak, a salad and what they had listed as a loaded baked potato that came with scallions cheese and bacon. My wife received her soup and at the bottom was a plastic lid of the type you receive condiments in. The waitress replaced it with another bowl that seemed ok. Her smelt seemed sort of average. She had coffee in a sad water (and maybe something gruesome) slobbered on the side. We ordered ann onion blossom that was ok. My salad was a bit of iceberg lettuce and some shredded cheese. The baked potato was ok but there were none of the advertised scallions. The waitress forgot silverware so we just grabbed it from another table. When we opened the napkin the silverware had water spots and possibly some remnants of past meals. The steak was cooked correctly but the meat was tough with lots of grizzle. With all that a one star review is in order although we left the waitress a 30% tip for good service.

I took one bite and I couldn't eat anymore because it was so unappetizing. Normally for the money I spend on food I would say you know I'm just not happy with this but it was late at night we were in Battle Creek and needed to get back 45 minutes to home. The french fries that were only $1 extra to add to the grinder were very good so I just had those and they give you a ton of them. I typically only drink water with my meals and they have very good filtered water. My husband had one of their pizzas maybe the meat lovers and he really enjoyed it. We brought home the extra and he ate on it for two more days! That was a win. In the end my husband was happy w his meal oh and he had some hot wings that were on special and he liked those and I had one as well. Wings were cooked just right and were not fatty. Steak and shake used to be a favorite, and we will not be back. First experience when you walk in is silence from the staff. The manager was up front cooking and didn't even acknowledge we'd walked in looking confused. There are no menus and no one to take your order. Instead, self order kiosks. It took us a solid 10 minutes to order on our own because we didn't know what we wanted to eat before we got there. It was painful. Then, they print out the receipt and some bar codes. No direction at all. You apparently have to take your ticket to a scanner to unlock the pop machine. Be careful that you don't accidentally scan it too many times because there is a limit. The next morning I stopped there again on my way back home to Grand Rapids and got a half order of biscuits and gravy that it was one biscuit that was as big if not bigger than the big fancy biscuits in the store only they were made from scratch ! To add to it the gravy which is not too bad at all is made from scratch. I struggled to finish this half order and still had a bunch of gravy sitting on the plate. Total price five bucks !!! At this place it is place your order and pick it up at the counter with no table service which also means no tip in this you want to lead something for the guys behind the counter which they deserve. If you are in the Battle Creek area this place is a must.
