Went out here for an "ADVENTURE" bike ride with mates on the 5th of Aug 2022 and I was soooooo far outside of my comfort zone but I just kept going as I knew I had support with me to get me out if I got stuck... Many thanks Tim and others.
This place has been damaged by the rains we've had this year but still has many different levels or grades of roads to choose from and I was very pleased to get to the top of "A" Brake considering my capabilities and medical issues at the time. (knee reconstructions done only 14days earlier)
If you have a 4x4 or... SUV or adventure type bike you need to get here and have some fun.
However nill facilities within the forest to be had. Either Dayboro or Woodford for fuel or food etc.

Nice Drive out from Brisbane through forest and farms. There is a nice picnic area near The Gantry with plenty of grass, parks, picnic shelters and bbqs. There are a few walking tracks through the National Park with many different things to see. Wet forest, pine plantations, lookouts, and eucalypt forest. All sorts of animals abound. We have been here a few times with the kids and its a great day out. There are a variety of 4WD tracks and you can go a long way with a standard city AWD but know your limits as some of the tracks can be washed out or very steep.

We came here on a hot day and decided just to do the small loop walk. It was quite nice even in the dry conditions.
We saw that there are longer walks you can do that take you beyond this location.
There are some nice info displays about the local wildlife and flora/fauna that can be spotted.

We did the 1.4km loop and it was a lovely walk. We saw a koala within the first 5 minutes of our walk which was really cool. Didn't see any others even though we were looking the whole time. Amazing bushland track, there are two walking tracks here one is easy and one that is hard. We had a koala meet us at the car park. Our first koala in the wild, it's better to see them in their natural habitat. The first track is wheelchair and pram friendly, and it's 1.4km circuit. The other one is 7km long. Some of the paths were blocked because of the rain a few days ago. Plenty of parking space during the weekdays. Toilets are close by, as well as the bbq area. Visited just before midday. As most people say no one knows of any recent koala sightings but we know they’re here somewhere! We enjoyed the serene walk in nature (Stockyard Creek Track 1.4km) & listening to the different birds. Having the circuit path was great although some inclines pushing a manual wheelchair was tough at times. The carpark is not exactly flat either, gravelly.
The information displays were a nice feature and also the buttons to press of different wildlife recordings were helpful to identify birds (although the speaker was quite loud!)
There are toilets, benches and BBQs available. A hiker asked if there was any drinking water but we didn’t see a drinking tap. Definitely apply mosquito repellent!

A truly magnificent day. Bush walk amongst nature followed by a swim in crystal clear cool mountain water. Flora and fauna in abundance. Great for bird watching.
We took a picnic…. I recommend taking a wet/waterproof bag reason being if you want to go further up the creek you will need to swim and sections. You will have to either hold the bag above your head as you swim or allow it to get slightly wet definitely worth the effort to going beyond the usual spot
Parking was a bit of an issue. The whole area at the gorge isn’t very well signed. We parked up top walk down the road climbed across a guard rail and found a pathway that leads down the hillside a to creek. I definitely recommend using Google maps. Make your destination point Northbrook gorge, parking lot and explore from there.

It's a steep, narrow, and has obstacles. Wear good shoes and bring water. Some small scrambling needed

Took on the Rocky Mountain High Break trail with the girlfriend today. Definitely a tough one, a bit longer and steeper than we expected but the view at the peak made it all worthwhile. Take plenty of water! And strongly suggest using actual hiking shoes. To find the trail park at Wirrabara Road then follow the Powerline track for about 1.8km and take the left track just after the over hanging powerlines. Return trip was 26.5km

We were able to manoeuvre around, so good footwear is definitely required where slippery. Mosquito repellent is a good idea. Part of the Southern Venman circuit runs alongside private property. Car park is relatively small so I imagine could get busy on weekends. Toilet available and picnic grounds with benches & BBQs. This is a beautiful Bushland National Park, right outside the Brisbane area. Trails and picnic areas for everyone. Wildlife is plentiful if you come in the morning or late afternoon. The Tingalpa Creek trail is an easy circuit, maybe 30-45min. The longer Venman Circuit is 7.5kms, about 1.5hrs if you have a steady pace. This circuit is currently closed on the Northern road, fenced off for some new road. Not sure if they’ll connect the trail elsewhere. If by some miracle, you can get around their flimsy fencing, you can connect up to the other park trails to the NW for a bigger hike.

Interesting short walk from carpark to the reservoir that includes a pedestrian bridge over the creek to a pumping station. From there go left to a picnic table and toilets, only 50 metres or so. Or turn right at the pumping station, to follow a steep, rough vehicle track for 150 metres to the top of the resevoir wall. Good view overlooking the resevoir, the intake tower and spillway. From here you can do a 2 hour trek around the dam, easiest to walk clockwise, along the top of the dam wall. The circular trek is quite nice, though climbs a bit over the second half. After heavy or prolonged rain the track will be quite boggy in parts, especially at the fartherest (west) end of the lake. Good walking boots advised.

Spent the whole day exploring the park with the kids. Definitely need a 4WD to get around properly—some of those sand tracks are no joke. We planned ahead and packed all we needed, which helped heaps since there’s no real shops or facilities once you’re in. The beach was beautiful and fairly quiet, and we managed to find a nice spot to set up for a few hours. The boys had a blast playing in the sand and climbing on fallen trees. I’ve been here a couple times- a few times driving up and multiple times walking up too. The hike up is fairly enjoyable - it starts as a dirt track up a fairly steep hill. Then, you get to the road and little lookout. You’ll have to cross the road directly to the other side of the bush (be careful cause it is at a bend in the road). Then, bush bash up the mountain until you get up to the tower and the top of the mountain. There is a decent view of the city (it’s a bit far) and they also have play equipment and a few nice areas to sit and relax.

I highly recommend to go the Trachyte Track to Jack Ferris Lookout and then the Yul-Yan-Man Track. I planned to go to the Tibrogargan summit but because of controlled burning of bushes around this mountain this track was closed (they do this every Winter to reduce the risk of bush fires throughout the hot months). But this alternative route was great as well, with some wonderful views over the nationalpark with its mountain peaks. From the Yul-Yan-Man Track I even was able to see some of the higher buildings of Brisbanes skyline which is about 60km afar! Do not let the signs at the beginning of that track intimidate you, I did it without being a "professional bush walker" and without any special equipment. Yes, there are some steep climbing sections, but this is rather fun than being difficult. Definitely worth a day trip!

I was totally surprised by this trail. I live just down the road and didn't even know it existed. A good 3 or so hour hike with easy to moderate hills. Lots of birds and flora. The views at the end are just spectacular. The sign at the start is missing, so make sure you don't go down the wrong travel like we did. It's to the right of the sign near the second carpark. My friend and I went to this track this morning, starting from around 9am and finished at 12:30noon. It gets super hot and stuffy around 11am. I would highly recommend you to start early like 7am. End up, we realised it was 38 degree!
It is a fairly easy track with flat paths. There are plenty of shades at most of the track. We spotted a water dragon, a snake, and a blue tongue lizard.

Very hilly bushland with an unimpressive lookout. However, the most interesting area is the south western zone with its dense green vegetation.
I took the entrance that sits on the corner of Glengary Rd. and Cobalt St. From here the two main walking circuits commence. There's one that goes east and leads you to the lookout, whilst a western one brings you to the thick forested area.
I didn't like the lookout and found no interesting fauna or flora on the way there. However, the lasting impression I have from the hike is the pleasant smell of the vegetation.
Taking the western walking circuit initially seemed to offer much the same, but once you reach the furtherest point from the entrance, the surroundings change. Suddenly the area comes alive with the sound of many different bird spieces and you find yourself in a cooler climate and greener vegetation. It's a lovely area.
I don't think it's worth driving here if you're coming from the other side of Brisbane, but it's a nice area if you live locally.

There are many tracks to choose from, the easy one is the Wild May track. They range from easy to hard. Most of the track is gravel motorised wheelchair is ok, but where the track deviat's, it's out of the question. Once you get to Lepidozamia bush camp it's all down hill to Middle Koble, a drop of over 400m over 2.5kms so it pretty steep and the walk back up will test your legs especially when carrying a heavy pack. But it's an enjoyable hike. I suggest taking the right turn just before you get to Lepidozamia to get there and then the slightly longer way back, looping back to Lepidozamia. Only 3 stars as there is no water tank here or shelter but you can get water from the creek if running.

Walked in from Middle Kobble Bush camp. No real track between the two. Very nice pool right by the campsite ahich is alongside the creek. Walked out up a spur running from South Kobble to intersect with Piper Comanche Wreck trail. There is a track along the spur. Pretty steep. Ensure you have plenty of water. I downed 2 litres just getting up the spur.
