This is the place to go. Open Sundays from 10am to 5pm and run exclusively by elderly volunteers, this is TRUELY one of Brisbane's, if not Queensland's hidden gems. Such an incredible place, landscape and snapshot of the history of Brisbane. If you are free on a sunday, pop down for a guided tour or explore the place as a public visitor. Just take a look at some of the photos I was able to take, and that's not even it.

An enjoyable national park for bushwalking, with plenty of bird life and wallaby spotting. Some access along the circuit is currently overflowing with water in places. We were able to manoeuvre around, so good footwear is definitely required where slippery. Mosquito repellent is a good idea. Part of the Southern Venman circuit runs alongside private property. Car park is relatively small so I imagine could get busy on weekends. Toilet available and picnic grounds with benches & BBQs. Wheelchair accessible picnic area but I believe would be unsuitable for trails. No dogs, horses or bikes permitted.

This is a beautiful Bushland National Park, right outside the Brisbane area. Trails and picnic areas for everyone. Wildlife is plentiful if you come in the morning or late afternoon. The Tingalpa Creek trail is an easy circuit, maybe 30-45min. The longer Venman Circuit is 7.5kms, about 1.5hrs if you have a steady pace. This circuit is currently closed on the Northern road, fenced off for some new road. Not sure if they’ll connect the trail elsewhere. If by some miracle, you can get around their flimsy fencing, you can connect up to the other park trails to the NW for a bigger hike.

Went out here for an "ADVENTURE" bike ride with mates on the 5th of Aug 2022 and I was soooooo far outside of my comfort zone but I just kept going as I knew I had support with me to get me out if I got stuck... Many thanks Tim and others.

Nice Drive out from Brisbane through forest and farms. There is a nice picnic area near The Gantry with plenty of grass, parks, picnic shelters and bbqs. There are a few walking tracks through the National Park with many different things to see. Wet forest, pine plantations, lookouts, and eucalypt forest. All sorts of animals abound. We have been here a few times with the kids and its a great day out. There are a variety of 4WD tracks and you can go a long way with a standard city AWD but know your limits as some of the tracks can be washed out or very steep.

Spent the whole day exploring the park with the kids. Definitely need a 4WD to get around properly—some of those sand tracks are no joke. We planned ahead and packed all we needed, which helped heaps since there’s no real shops or facilities once you’re in. The beach was beautiful and fairly quiet, and we managed to find a nice spot to set up for a few hours. The boys had a blast playing in the sand and climbing on fallen trees. Didn’t see much wildlife except a few birds and crabs, but the quiet was refreshing. There’s a rugged charm to the place. The signage could be better though, and I reckon a few compost toilets wouldn’t go astray. Still, not a bad way to spend a day out of town. If you’re not expecting a resort-style park and don’t mind getting a bit dusty, it’s worth it. Just plan ahead and take your time.

What an informative day out. The tour staff were not only knowledgeable but also entertaining. The site itself, being steeped in history, was an eye opening experience into the local region.

Short hike from the picnic area, up past the Education Centre and along the trail to the mountain bike trail "Steps", back down the Dam break line, Ring Road, somehow got onto a scrubby path but met up with the main service road and back to the picnic area - in about 70 minutes (fit/experienced). There were some small yet steep hills for sure, and scrubby parts that were a little scramble-y, but almost totally shaded by high canopy making for a lovely yet vigorous walk in the middle of the day. I highly recommend to go the Trachyte Track to Jack Ferris Lookout and then the Yul-Yan-Man Track. I planned to go to the Tibrogargan summit but because of controlled burning of bushes around this mountain this track was closed (they do this every Winter to reduce the risk of bush fires throughout the hot months). But this alternative route was great as well, with some wonderful views over the nationalpark with its mountain peaks. From the Yul-Yan-Man Track I even was able to see some of the higher buildings of Brisbanes skyline which is about 60km afar! Do not let the signs at the beginning of that track intimidate you, I did it without being a "professional bush walker" and without any special equipment. Yes, there are some steep climbing sections, but this is rather fun than being difficult. Definitely worth a day trip!

Its got a round driveway/parking area with a nice short walk around a well maintained wooden braodwalk leading to the lookout. There's history plaques studded throughout, and gentille slopes, so it's wheelchair accessible.

Beautiful swimming hole, 1 hour 40 from Brisbane. The hole is just 1 min walk down a short track from the car park. Beautiful winding roads all the way there and back. Highly recommend a four-wheel-drive as the road into D’aguilar National Park is unsealed with very loose stones and quite gravelly. There are toilets about 10 minutes away from these falls with a nice picnic spot. Bring water shoes as might help you navigate the sharp rocks underfoot.. you can explore a little further up from the falls and further down. A beautiful swimming hole, it feels like a secluded secret. We were lucky and got to enjoy this piece of paradise completely alone! Managed the tracks well in our VW T5 van so can be reached without a 4x4 but would avoid if you have a newer or are precious about your vehicle. We saw many turtles, a lizard, a cheeky cormorant and a red belly black snake basking on the overcast day. We took a picnic…. I recommend taking a wet/waterproof bag reason being if you want to go further up the creek you will need to swim and sections. You will have to either hold the bag above your head as you swim or allow it to get slightly wet definitely worth the effort to going beyond the usual spot
Parking was a bit of an issue. The whole area at the gorge isn’t very well signed. We parked up top walk down the road climbed across a guard rail and found a pathway that leads down the hillside a to creek. I definitely recommend using Google maps. Make your destination point Northbrook gorge, parking lot and explore from there.

58 yr old and 60 yr old enjoyed this very scenic trail enormously. We took 2hr 40 to reach the summit, this included several very brief rest stops plus one coffee break. We rested at the top, enjoyed the views and ate lunch. We took 2 hrs on the descent. We left at 10:40 in the morning ... wouldn't recommend heading up later ... as you would not want to get caught on this walk in the dark. Two spots near the summit were reasonably tricky .. near vertical rock scaling .. more difficult on the descent. If your entire party are inexperienced or not confident you should not attempt. This trail has been given graded Class 5 for good reasons. Also, the downward descent is very loose in places ... you do not want to fall. So, if you have bad knees, hips or back ... this is not the trail for you. All that said, may I repeat how very enjoyable this walk was. The trail was easy to follow.
