My girlfriend got the seafood pasta, which was a massive portion as well with a great amount of sea food. The bread with it was very good, especially with the white wine sauce in the pasta. She really liked it. We also shared a side of the lobster risotto which was pretty good. I also got the faux-jito mocktail which was basically a non alcoholic mojito with some fruits. Very good and refreshing though. For dessert we got the crème brûlée tasting. The flavors were vanilla, strawberry rose, and orange. They were all so good and super thick and rich. They were welcoming and attentive even though our budget was smaller than some other studios required. We joked at the outset that we did not have strong opinions on exactly how things were done, but we wanted a really nice result. In the end we got a fantastically nice result, but of course the path we took involved a lot of back and forth working with Katie to find solutions that satisfied our expectations while holding together from her professional designer point of view. We had several negotiations along the way from the proportions of our rooms and hallways and spaces to the locations of the ceiling beams dividing them, to the locations of lighting and fixtures. We are particularly happy with how well the custom woodworking, cabinetry, paneling, and columns in the new spaces integrate with pre-existing woodworking that could not be modified because of its ties to the structure. It is impossible to distinguish the new spaces from the old. Katie also helped us select finishes and fixtures that were fresh and consistent. She worked with us to learn something about our tastes, and suggested styles and combinations that worked well together. With that framework in place, we took many of her recommendations and were also able to successfully contribute some of our own to the final result. Katie was great to work with - she understood our needs and provided us with several iterations of the project design. She was open to all of our feedback, both general and on specific details, while upholding her responsibility to ensure a consistent result. This successful process with Katie ultimately left us with a new first floor that dramatically changed the functionality of our kitchen and main living space while integrating absolutely seamlessly with the rest of the house.
