I always like to do an honest review and this is a strange one as I ordered food last Tuesday and what turned up was terrible and I would have rated it a 1 star, it was so bad I did speak with the Manager, he was very friendly and understanding, he ask i came back to try again when I was free this week before I did a review. I ordered exactly the same food and this week it was great, hot and cooked perfectly. 5 star when asked it was cooked by the Kitchen manager, who doesn't always cook all meal's. The kitchen manager obviously cares. I have given 3 stars as the first meal was a 1 star and this a 5star as you will see in the pictures. I would like to review again as if the food stays this good I will definitely recommend Burton House. Consistency is key to customers returning. An absolute shambles. We were staying at the Premier Inn and decided to dine at Brewers Fayre with it being on site. We booked a table for 7pm. When we arrived we were told there's a 40 minutes wait for food. We ordered at the bar at 7:15pm. Stonebaked Margherita pizza (Cheese, Tomato, Oregano), chicken tikka masala and a kids' Chicken with chips and beans. We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for food. When it eventually arrived, the pizza was overcooked, had started to go cold and it was seemingly just a frozen pizza, no better than a one you'd pick up for 89p in Aldi. There was no oregano on the pizza. Asked for oregano and the waiter explained that they don't use oregano, despite it stating on the menu. The kids' Chicken was overcooked as well, to the point that it ended up all over the floor when it was cut into. It was a complete disaster from start to finish. We complained and got our money back. We ended up going to a local McDonald's, which was lovely

Waited over an hour for our main food to come out most of it was rock hard and burnt. Considering the restaurant was practically empty not sure why it was over an hour wait. No one came to ask if the food was ok. All the meats where burnt had to get a refund for my smothered chicken as it was so hard you couldn't even cut through it. I really don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I feel it’s only fair to be honest. On my recent visit, there was no food cooked when we arrived – we were told there would be an open buffet, but we waited around 40 minutes before anything appeared. When food finally did come out, there was only enough for two people, leaving everyone else standing around frustrated and hungry.
I asked for a poached egg to go with my breakfast, and it didn’t arrive until 20 minutes after I’d finished eating. Half of our group didn’t get their food until almost an hour after the rest of us had finished. The staff didn’t seem bothered at all – their attitude was basically “tough.”
One person in our group waited so long that they gave up and asked for a refund, which turned into an argument to get sorted.
This is actually the second time I’ve had a bad experience here with both the food and the service. I really wanted to give it another chance, but unfortunately it was just as poor as before.
Would not recommend this place at all.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and, while it was very busy, we still managed to find a table. Quite a few tables hadn’t been cleared, but service was quick and efficient.

We then came back for sunday lunch and it was one of the best roasts we have had out, the beef was perfect. The shop was really lovely and the butchers was very good. Was going to go to Boston but found the sausage shop was here on the way home. Oh my. Nearly bought the whole lot. Great range of cheeses, fresh and frozen meats. Great place to stop off along A17. Easy enough to get in/out of as it’s 40mph along this stretch.
Takeaway hut in car park did good coffee and cakes. Best feature was outside area with large playground and covered shelter with benches. Perfect for our little boy to stretch his legs whilst on a long journey.
As others have mentioned, need a code for the loo but they are very clean so worth the price of a coffee!

A quick stop and we came away with a luscious looking hand raised pork pie and 12 finest Boston sausages. We had come prepared with a cool bag as home was still another 2.5 hours drive away for us, but know we'll love the produce all the more for being lovingly collected on our journey.

Having popped in by chance to have a lunchtime snack, didn't have our first request and settled for what they had. When it did arrive they were appalling basic with little effort made. Visited today on a sunday morning just after breakfast change over. The place was spotless, all staff not serving out cleaning. Quite an unusual sight to be fair for a mcdonalds. So this was nice to see.
Food was normal for mcdonalds but I had no complaints even got two free mcflurrys on my app points. If you don't use the app it's well worth it. Can't remember the last time I paid for a mcflurry so worth saving up the points. Service was quick although not as busy as a usual Saturday would be. So the visit was quite pleasant. Yet again a 45 minute wait then gave up and asked for a refund , to get a manager making excuses of short staffed , order only just come through the system when it was time stamped on receipt 45 minutes ago and its normal to wait that long and everyone does . When everyone that came in after us got served way before us. Wow this place is fantastic. It gets busy at times & service does slow down a tad . But it's a perfect stop for a proper good full English Breakfast.
( my personal preference is Lincolnshire sausage with my Breakfast but not on the menu).

Value for money a proper roadside cafe . You will rub shoulders with Bikers & truckers Horse riders & caravaners but don't let that put you off . I've not had a decent cooked breakfast for ages. By that I mean no grease left on the plate nothing overcooked nothing under cooked all of it hot & all our eggs perfectly runny.
I highly recommend popping in & if you can pay Cash it would be very much appreciated as these little gems pay enough for rent & supplies nevermind banking fees x Cash is preferable but if you must pay by card you can .

While travelling to Skegness on our motorbikes, my mate and I stopped here for a much needed breakfast and a coffee. It did not disappoint. The instant coffee was better tasting than most places (Costa), and the best part was, it was free with our two "station" breakfasts. At £10 each it was good value for money, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, beans, tinned tomatoes and a hash brown. The bacon was cooked perfectly with crispy fat, the speedy service and the food was delicious and filling 10/10. The two ladies serving us were lovely and super friendly too. It is a rural community truck & tractor stop with a huge car park, it is not fancy it is down to earth good value and tasty food, and very clean too. If you want posh and fancy go elsewhere, if you want a good old fashioned no frills British cafe this is your place. Would definitely recommend and will definitely revisit 100%.

The food was well cooked and the service quick and friendly and we liked the proper no frills cafe which has lots of interesting photographs on the walls.

The sausages were straight out of the 1980's, I expected more. The cafe doesn't take cards either which is odd in this day and age. All the ladies running food look exhausted clearly aren’t enough staff on at once and there is no way ethically only one lady at a time should be serving making coffee and running food out to customers. Asked to talk to manager was told she ain’t in she never in the slender woman with dark hair does better job at running the place. Food was mid at best clearly microwaved and chucked onto a plate coffee was lukewarm asked if could be warmed up but they said it was to spec the spec is rubbish if that’s the case because by the time our badly done eggs were brought to us it was stone cold. Only redeeming quality of that place is its wait staff as they are so nice. Certainly won’t be returning here it’s disgraceful! Tables were also disgusting but can’t fault the wait staff because they simply don’t have enough time or hands to get it all done. Management again is clearly lacking.
