We when to Charlotte for a weekend trip . It was July 4th and very busy . The atmosphere was fun and busy . Service was good and food was tasty. Restaurant is really small . They cram a lot of people it a tight space. But the vibe was nice . Atmosphere was suitable for children. They even had cheese toast for my grandson. (His favorite) . Normal wait time was about 20 or more minutes for a table of six on a Busy weekend. Nice spot and would definitely go back . PS it was my sister’s birthday and they played a birthday song and gave her a treat .. 👍🏾

To start, the service was awesome. the server was very personable, and it was very busy as it was mothers Day. We got there early and had a nice brunch. The food selection on our menues was kind if limited for a place in this area, but the food we had was very good. My only issue was the price to quantity. We had 4 people, no alcohol and no extras, and our bill was over 100 dollars. It was good, but on a scale of where this food was to the price point could have been better, here are a few pics of our meals. As always, I look forward to reading responses and please like and follow for more super food reviews

Great service. Ebony was quick and attentive, made sure our drinks were refilled and offered good recommendations. I got the French Toast with ricotta. It was good but overwhelmingly sweet. I thought it was a small portion at first but it makes sense for how sweet it is.

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Sonya, and she was phenomenal. From the moment we sat down, Sonya made us feel welcome and taken care of — she was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Her timing was perfect: drinks were always topped off, plates cleared quickly, and she checked in often without ever being overbearing. She had great menu knowledge, gave thoughtful recommendations, and made the whole experience fun and relaxed. It’s rare to come across a server who combines professionalism with such an upbeat, genuine personality. Sonya truly elevated our meal and turned it into something special. If you’re dining here, ask for Sonya — you’ll be so glad you did!

Ms. Sonya was an absolutely wonderful waitress! She was so friendly, welcoming, and warm in her attitude and conversation! She gave detailed and thoughtful recommendations for food and places to visit in Charlotte, the state of NC in general, and SC too! She even took time to sit with us and answer various questions we had, and once we left to take pictures outside, she even helped us to take a group photo together! Also, the food was delicious and we can tell it was freshly made! We got the red velvet pancakes and the vegan hash, both of which were amazing!! The atmosphere of the place was cozy and fun too!

A Wonderful Charlotte Find — A Must-Visit I’ve been in Charlotte for three years and, until now, have only been here once before — and that visit was fantastic. This time, my son and his friend came to town, and I picked this place to dine. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the experience. From the moment we walked in, the welcome set the tone for the morning. The staff, especially the bartenders, were phenomenal. Every person who greeted us made us feel at home, and their warmth and attentiveness elevated the entire meal. The bartenders crafted delicious drinks with flair, and their hospitality made us feel like regulars from the first hello. The food was consistently superb across the board. One of us ordered the shrimp and grits, another enjoyed the pancakes and chicken, and I treated myself to the French toast. Each dish was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and perfectly plated. The flavors were vibrant, the portions satisfying, and the presentation was spot-on. This is a must-stop for anyone visiting Charlotte, whether you’re in town for a day or a local looking for a standout dining experience. Please keep up the fantastic service and the wonderful food — you’ve earned a lasting place on our list of favorites. If you’re in town, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You won’t be disappointed. The staff, the bartenders, and everyone who greets you deserve all the praise, and the food speaks for itself. A truly memorable evening, thank you ALL.

Dale was awesome! GM very friendly. Top notch CS! Food was excellent… Ricotta Stuffed French Toast and Short Rib Hash. Atmosphere casual. Mimosas are over priced but we still enjoyed it all.

If you go on the weekend be prepared to wait. They usually stay pretty busy even during the week. I have been several times and the service is pretty consistent and our food was good. The inside of the restaurant is small, but they do offer outdoor dining if you’re into that. Pictured are the chicken and pancakes, pancake breakfast with sausage and eggs, short rib grilled cheese with fries 🤌🏾

Eddie's Place Restaurant is a popular casual eatery and bar in Charlotte, known for serving New Orleans specialties and all-day breakfast. The restaurant has a fun, family-friendly atmosphere and attracts a diverse crowd, from judges and CEOs to working men and women. It has been a staple for breakfast in the area for nearly 15 years, offering an all-day breakfast menu with delicious brunch specials.
For myself I ordered the build your own burger with a side of fries. It was good. My parents both ordered pasta and enjoyed it. My daughter demolished her kids burger and fries. My other children wanted the chicken tender with a side of fries. They enjoyed them! I found them to be an affordable option for a night out with the family. Great options and great food.
Tameka M — Google review
First time at Eddie’s and we are glad decided to give it a try. Ordered Prime rib lunch special and Red Beans and rice with grilled chicken and blackened shrimp. Both were delicious. The chicken and waffles looked great and so did hamburgers. We will be back to give them a try.

The restaurant has been open in Charlotte for as long as I can remember. Each time you drive by it is always full. Now I know why! I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and had a 10 minute wait which isn't bad. Once in the restaurant it was busy with waiter / waitresses taking orders and bringing food out to tables. I had a cup of gumbo which was excellent!!! The main dish was black beans and rice with shrimp. Absolutely 💯 delicious 😋! Everything was worth the wait. If you are in the area stop in and get some amazing tasting food!
George R — Google review
Went here for Sunday lunch. Saw it had good reviews Waited 10 minutes. Sat. Server took our drink order and asked we were ready to order. We didn't even look at the menu. Once we ordered it was off the races for the kitchen. We ordered the she crab soup. It was good, would have been nice if it was hotter in temp. As soon as I had my spoon in the soup our salads came out. Then half way through having our salads our food came out. Personally for me, I don't like to be flooded with food like that. However, this may be a way they keep turning tables. Their version shrimp and grits was good with ample amount of shrimp. Rice and beans was way too spicy. The shrimp were so seasoned that the season crunched as you bit in. This dish was a fail. When you find yourself commenting on how good the bread is more then the meal itself should be an indicator of food quality. At least for me, I didn't see any love with any of the food. But beyond that, the fact the food was rushed made it less enjoyable dining experience. While this may be a perfect neighborhood bar, I probably would not go back.

I’m totally blown away by the level of quality and taste of the food here. The service was truly exceptional. We were greeted at the front door. The food was delicious there was no way we were going to not take the leftovers with us. Please don’t sleep on this place. If you do you will be very sorry.
Ronald J — Google review
Our waitress Anna was wonderful. Never had been to Charlotte before and was told by folks online to stop here. Did not disappoint. The biscuit was amazing and the Parm grits you can't miss. If you are vegetarian, you can ask to substitute meat for a side at no additional cost. We were nervous about a wait but on a Wednesday morning round 10am, it was no wait. Our total was about $22 for two breakfasts, before tip. 5/5

Had brunch here today and I’m so glad we discovered this hidden gem! The chicken and waffles were perfection — crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Our waitress went above and beyond, making the experience even better with her friendly attitude and great service. Can’t wait to come back!

Everyone has gotta try this place. I thought it was more of a very generic southern breakfast place before actually getting here, was I mistaken! This place is more like a local, upscale, hole on the wall that serves drinks and smashing good food! Had the assignment Benedict, which was great! Sauce wasn't broken, ham was not to salty, homefries good and the homemade hash was killer. Wife has the South Chicken+Gravy biscuit. She smashed that thing! Coffee was flowing, atmosphere was cool and chill. 10000% know why this place stays busy as heck! Absolutely a MUST TRY on CLT.

The Asbury, located inside The Dunhill Hotel, pays homage to the city's Southern heritage and diverse community. Led by Chef Mike Long, Pastry chef Miranda Brown, and mixologist Brett Leek, this modern yet rustic restaurant offers farm-fresh ingredients in its dishes. From jalapeno-smoked gouda potato cakes to classic breakfast options like eggs and grits, the menu celebrates seasonal flavors while staying true to traditional Southern cooking.
As a native of Charlotte I am absolutely ashamed that I have not been here before. I probably had the best burger ever in my life. Service was great, ambience amazing and everything very clean. Only thing that could make this experience better is if they had live jazz in the lobby of the hotel. I will definitely be back.
Cynthia R — Google review
Four years from now, the Dunhill Hotel will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Ninety-six years ago, when the hotel’s architect, Mr. Louis Asbury, was designing it, he probably didn’t imagine that the hotel’s restaurant would one day be named after him — or that his name would be given to a delicious burger I ordered yesterday, along with a salad. Mr. Chong served me; he was a kind, humble, and humorous man. I wanted to see the second floor as well, but it wasn’t possible. I really loved the warm and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant, and the Asbury Burger was excellent. Ben, Local Guide.
Ben R — Google review
We went here for the pre-Wicked menu. The service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. The online menu said beef tenderloin would be served, but we received a very fatty bland strip steak. The fat was not rendered properly. The meat was cold, unseasoned, and not seared. It tasted like it had been steamed. The vegetables were okay. The shrimp appetizer tasted like it was made with frozen shrimp. The lemon meringue pie was lackluster and soggy. I would not recommend this restaurant. They did have a wine bottle special and validated parking. The food was very overpriced for poor quality.

Was staying at the Dunhill Hotel so went downstairs for breakfast. It was delicious ! Great food. Tried the chicken and waffles.

Here’s a NED-style review for The Asbury: --- ✅ What Works Well - Elevated Southern-inspired cuisine with a modern twist. - Stylish, cozy ambiance with warm, inviting decor. - Creative cocktails and a thoughtful wine list. - Quality ingredients and well-executed dishes—great seafood and seasonal options. - Attentive, knowledgeable service. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Prices can be on the higher side. - Portions lean towards moderate rather than large. - Reservations recommended, especially on weekends. - Some dishes might be too adventurous for traditional Southern food lovers. --- 🎯 Verdict The Asbury offers a refined Southern dining experience that balances comfort with creativity—ideal for date nights or special occasions. Rating: 4.4 / 5 --- Want dish or cocktail recommendations?

Our server was amazing! She went above and beyond and really did a great job with our party of 16! Food was delicious, atmosphere was very personal and quaint. Definitely recommend! 👌🏼

We went to The Asbury on Thursday, July 31, 2025 for lunch and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The hostess/waitress was absolutely one of the most delightful, polite, and attentive waitresses I’ve ever encountered. She made entire experience top notch. I didn’t get her name, but she deserves a raise! She was handling the entire dining room with grace, professionalism, and a smile. Truly delightful. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for lunch. We were thrilled with our entire dining experience!
Jennifer G — Google review
Left after waiting 15 mins for them to acknowledge us or take a drink order. No one was served food in the 15 mins, another couple left complaining about how long it was taking, we had a show to make so we decided to jump the gun and leave before it got too bad. We joked we felt like on an episode of kitchen nightmares, everyone looked INCREDIBLY frazzled for 6:30 on a Friday, the restaurant has like 8 tables 😮‍💨

Suffolk Punch Brewing South End is a multifaceted establishment that combines a brewery, coffee bar, American eatery, and fermentation lab all in one location. The venue features an industrial-chic ambiance with steel and metal accents, exposed brick walls, large windows, and a garage-style door. The menu highlights locally-sourced ingredients for an artisanal dining experience that goes beyond typical breakfast fare to include dishes like biscuits and gravy and shrimp 'n' grits.
Have enjoyed many beers out on the patio on a nice day. Stopped by on a weekday this time on a 95 degree day so got a table inside. Nachos and flatbread were both excellent. Jawripper is so damn good if you like smoothie sours. Service inside was not great, I prefer the QR ordering system outside, but overall enjoyed our weekday visit.
Daniel H — Google review
This place is a really nice spot if you want to go for brunch + breakfast. I went on a Sunday and the outside patio was packed, so expect maybe to wait for a table if the weather is nice outside otherwise inside is usually pretty open. My friends and I got the Big Bun Cinnamon roll and it was really good. I think if I really had to nit pick I would have wanted it to be more warmed up/ hot and then I think it would have made it taste even better. It was just barely warm/ at room temperature, but still tasted good nonetheless. We also got their seasonal Cinnamon Toast Crunch cappuccino and their classic chicken biscuits. The chicken was season very well and the gravy was really tasty. The biscuit itself is different so I can see some people either not liking it as much or really love it. Overall, everything tasted good and the waiters and staff were really nice and the overall restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Their parking lot is really small btw so you will need to plan maybe ahead to find some parking near by. I’d come back here again a solid 7.5/10. 👍
Katie — Google review
Beer was fantastic and nice outdoor patio and vibe inside. The QR ordering system was down due to city wide power outage so we went inside to order and the bartenders who helped us were lovely. We both ordered the shishito salad (small) with grilled chicken, and this dish was our only gripe. It was put together by someone who has never had a salad, and surely hasn’t tried the one they made. The bowl was small but packed to the brim with the salad contents - this would have been manageable but the chicken was uncut (the photo shows it after I painfully sliced it up), and the dressing wasn’t tossed with the salad. It was also under dressed, and this is coming from someone who prefers less than normal dressing. The shishitos were cold and weren’t grilled long enough as-is. They should rework this dish. At minimum, slice your meats and toss the salad so a patron can easily eat the salad without it exploding on the table. That said, the ingredients were quality.

Great spot that we frequent a lot! While it’s a brewery, their rotating food and coffee (s/o Kelly’s coffee program - the Salted Butterscotch latte is amazing) are also very good. I see they have pizza right now so we’ll need to try that next time. Definitely a must visit if you’re in town, walking the rail trail, or just want a nice spot to hangout and chat.

Cool brewery/restaurant with nice brunch and coffee menu. Had a long layover in CLT and spent a few hours here. Friendly staff, good vibe.

ANNE with Offline - This was a wonderful experience. I had the burrarita flatbread and my friend had the chicken Sammie. Both were so flavorful, perfectly cooked and quick service. The chicken was crispy topped with softest lightly toasted bread😋. They have a variety of mocktails for those who still want a fun drink without the alcohol.
Gabby P — Google review
Connor with Offline - The Cubano De Suffolk is a must-try—the bacon is absolutely unreal! The coffee is always excellent (I especially enjoyed the Americano), and the service is consistently top-notch. A spot I’ll keep coming back to.
Connor G — Google review
Food was good, vibes & the DJs were awesome. However, the service was nonexistent (not a big deal), but the parking lot situation SUCKS. We were unable to leave for AN HOUR after we were done, because another parked car was blocking our way out. We went inside to speak to the manager on duty, and he said that he couldn’t have it towed since they were parked legally (despite the lousy parking job) and that he would “ask around the tables to see” if they could find the owner of the car to have them move. We waited for an hour, and nothing... Manager never came to check, never saw any of the wait staff asking around, nothing. During that wait, several other cars also had hard times backing out of their parking spots & leaving too, requiring their passengers to hop outside to help guide/direct the drivers from hitting the other cars. Eventually after an hour and a 1,000-point turn, and the help of several strangers, we were able to slip out the crammed parking lot. The car that had us blocked in was still in its exact spot as we left. I enjoyed the food and the live DJ, and would’ve came back again, but we spent more time trying to leave the parking lot than we spent at our table ordering and eating our food.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, is a delightful retro-inspired chain that transforms breakfast and lunch into an exciting culinary adventure. With multiple locations across the city, this vibrant eatery offers a seasonal menu brimming with creative dishes that cater to all tastes. Indulge in fluffy pancakes that practically dissolve on your tongue or savor hearty options like benedicts and breakfast burritos.
Once you step in, you notice the trendy eclectic dining area with plenty of tables and booths. There is a bar where you can order drinks or breakfast and watch the TV. The service was on point! Lexie was amazing, always checking to see if I needed anything and keeping the coffee topped off. I'm not a fan of asparagus, but with the egg white scramble mixed with spinach and mushrooms, it was a delicious surprise. First time having a chicken patty instead of a sausage patty. I'm glad I didn't substitute. The sambal sauce has just the right spicy heat but doesn't burn your mouth. The veggie egg white scramble was delicious. You have to eat here if you haven't.

Overall, my food experience was excellent. The bartender who took my order was friendly and provided great service. I especially love their food options, like the chicken sausage, and their cheesy grits, which are creamy perfection. The food remains consistently good, which is why I keep coming back. However, I did have an awkward moment with the waiter who handled my payment—I believe their name was Jade or Jada. While I was still eating, I was suddenly presented with the bill and the payment machine, which felt a bit rushed. On another note, parking can be quite difficult due to very limited spaces. Also, wait times during the week are noticeably shorter compared to weekends, when large parties tend to cause delays. Despite these minor issues, I would still recommend this spot for its consistently good food and the friendly service at the bar.

I recently tried the Habanero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice (Jasmine-garlic fried rice with braised habanero pork belly, sautéed red bell peppers, onions, poblanos, carrots and pineapple. Topped with Sriracha maple aioli, two crispy sunny-side up eggs, scallions and kimchi spice) for $16.25 and I've got mixed feelings on the experience. The waitress was mid at best but lets put that aside. I've been to Snooze several times including the original location in Colorado long ago. I love breakfast food but never make time for it in the morning so Snooze for lunch / brunch is always a treat (side note.. I really wish they were open for dinner for all of us that want breakfast for dinner). Anyway.. I tried the Habanero Pork Belly Fried Rice and loved it.. loved every bite of it.. all ten bites at least. It was delicious but for $16+ wayyy smaller than my man sized appetite was looking for. I wish I brought a $2 microwave rice with me just to bulk up the serving bc I ended up grabbing something otw home after leaving Snooze. All in all, great food but for my preference.. it was either too small or too expensive for what I got.

I’m was craving pancakes and they did not disappoint!!! Got the sampler plate, the one the strawberries was to die for. Also go the bacon it was fantastic! Also ordered the pork belly benny. Hey do half orders or Bennys too!!! Staff was wonderful and fun, tasty Bloody Mary! We got there early and I love that they open early!! No wait when you get there at 7:30am!

Food here was delicious and decently priced! The shrimp and grits were my favorite and the strawberry shortcake pancakes were delicious! They made my boyfriend’s order wrong but quickly able to rectify it. There was some lack of attention from server and preferred drink items were sold out. Overall, a good experience and would eat here again because of the food!

This place was really amazing. We had great food.I absolutely loved the bugogi fried rice.I got a chai latte as well.I have never been asked if I wanted it more sweet or spicy and doing it half and half made it more than likely the best chai latte i've had. It was a Sunday morning when we went, so they were really busy. I didn't get my eggs the first time when my food came out. That's the only reason I said 4 stars on service, but they corrected it really fast. All of the food came out insanely quick, so I will definitely be coming back.

Ruby Sunshine is a delightful brunch destination that brings the vibrant flavors of New Orleans and Southern cuisine to your plate. With a menu featuring mouthwatering dishes like fried green tomatoes with remoulade, crispy fried chicken drizzled in tasso cream sauce, and decadent peaches and cream pancakes, it’s hard not to indulge. For those seeking something unique, the Grilled Fish St.
Rae was great! All her recommendations were on point! She made us feel welcome and made sure our cups stayed full! Food was delish. We had the chicken, biscuits and gravy with Fried green tomato and bacon. Everything was great. We also had the beignets with Banana pudding and oh my so delish. The French toast and chicken was also a delight!! We are so full but can’t wait to come back and eat again!! We hope to be in Rae’s section again!!

Googled "best brunch in Charlotte" and was not disappointed at all! Pictures are of the loaded tots, breakfast tacos (get added meat because there wasn't a lot of meat on these, aka one shrimp...), hot honey chicken and French toast bites, and cinnamon swirl pancakes. Not pictured is the Irish coffee and bacon bloody Mary. The tots had a unique flavor that was not only surprising but good. The tacos were pretty meh. But I come back to Charlotte for the hot honey chicken with French toast bites and the cinnamon swirl waffles. Phenomenal. Only down side was the wait (they do have an option to get on a wait list on the website... do it) and having to basically climb on the bar to get the one bartender's attention for a drink while we waited to be seated. Great brunch place!

We moved to the Charlotte are and have been looking for an amazing brunch spot for the last year. We have found a winner. The food was amazing. The Bloody Mary was perfect and Tasha our server was attentive and helpful! We will be back. Make sure to get on the wait list before you come. 80 minute wait but only 10 minutes at the restaurant

Came to Charlotte and have never been so after a little looking around we found this great spot near our hotel -the quality definitely exceeded the price of the menu -my boyfriend hot hot honey chicken and French toast and I got shrimp and grits. As someone who lives at the beach I was very impressed with the quality of the shrimp and the seasoning of the grits was the best I’ve ever had. As far as staff they were all very nice and helpful.

Yesterday was my first time visiting this place. Apparently, this is a very popular place with the 1 1/2 hour wait time! 😄 The food was definitely worth the wait. The service was adequate for the time of day and capacity. The fried green tomatoes were on point!! 😋 I had the shrimp & grits. Though delicious, the grits were a little watery. Thus, giving the dish more of a soup feel. My wife loved her shrimp omelet and the french toast bites. The atmosphere was nice. I can most definitely add Ruby Sunshine to my "favorite spots" list, and I will recommend to others enthusiastically. 😃 But, THICKEN UP THEM GRITS!!! 😂😂

Went for Saturday Brunch and it was a steady stream of customers. We had the Trifecta Benedicts and Eggs Cochon Food was very very good, but giving 4 stars instead of 5 b/c it was warm vs hot when it arrived Had a Ruby Mimosa on the side and that was also tasty. Their coffee is solid too. Definitely recommend :)

It was my first time here. I had the Pumpkin chai stuffed french toast and it was scrumptious, huge serving! I accompanied with a perfectly brewed Cappuccino. Great service, great ambiance and plenty of parking. I will definitely be coming back!

We loved EVERYTHING about this place. Tasha was an awesome server and gave us a GREAT recommendation on the Very Berry Beignets - you only have about two weeks left to try them and they're WELL worth the cost and calories! Even enjoyed the music playing overhead. We can't wait to come back with others!

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is a laid-back restaurant that serves up seasonal Southern-style dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. With a menu that changes based on the season and location, this eatery offers fresh and local fare, such as House Made Pickles, Avocado Toast Points topped with goat cheese, and Famous Fried Green Tomatoes in Charlotte.
Spontaneous Visit Turned Into a Great Experience! Stopped by Tupelo Honey on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. The food was actually really tasty. way better than I expected for a spontaneous pick! What truly made the morning, though, was our amazing server, Aliya. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back, and hope to have Aliya again! What started out as a random stop turned into one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Huge shoutout to Aliya for her professionalism and positivity. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing friends!

We had a great experience at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen in Charlotte, NC. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with a nice mix of modern charm and Southern comfort. We ordered the Shrimp and Grits along with the Farmhouse Breakfast Platter, both of which are pictured here. The Shrimp and Grits were rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The grits were creamy and the shrimp had just the right amount of seasoning. The Farmhouse Platter was a hearty and satisfying choice, with fresh ingredients and generous portions that hit all the classic breakfast notes. We arrived right at opening on a Sunday morning, so it was nice to beat the rush. However, our table wasn’t properly cleaned when we were seated, which was a little off putting. Also, be aware that you can’t order mimosas before 10 AM on Sundays due to local alcohol laws. (Something we didn’t know ahead of time.) Service was friendly and attentive overall, and our food came out in a timely manner. The only reason we're giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of those small hiccups and the fact that while everything was solid and delicious, it didn’t quite hit that unforgettable “wow” factor but, it came close! Overall, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving elevated Southern fare done right.

We stopped by for Saturday afternoon brunch and enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant had a good and the outdoor seating was nice. Our server, Nico was nice and hospitable and provided some good recommendations like the Smothered Chicken & Biscuits, which were delicious. Our food came pretty quickly too. Good restaurant overall in the heart of uptown.

The chicken is famous and should be, the lightly dusted is perfect for southern charm. The cereal milk martini was so delightful, I had to sip it just to make it last. The Mahi was really spicy but well done. The fried green tomatoes were average. I wouldn't say the food is amazing, but it is good. I would say the service is amazing and the atmosphere is worth the stop.

Food was excellent and filling! The sweet potato pancake was very good though it started feeling too sweet towards the end. Shouldn't be a problem for anyone who enjoys a sweet breakfast though. We also got the mac n cheese and chicken waffle, but without the spice. Their chicken is absolutely amazing and the next time I visit I'll definitely be getting something with chicken. An entree only + tip will put you just around $20, anything more and you'll go over.

Lovely spot for lunch. I got the Sriracha honey fried chicken sandwich with collard greens on the side and my wife got the original fried chicken and waffles. All the staff were friendly and the place was really clean. I'd come back next time I'm in town.

Famous Toastery is a popular choice for American breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a comfortable setting. Originally a small eatery in Huntsville, North Carolina, it has expanded to four franchises in Charlotte. Known for its fresh and tasty food, the restaurant offers an extensive menu of classic favorites and innovative dishes. Customers praise the excellent food and customer service, with particular appreciation for the attentive staff members like Lauren and Ryan who provide quick service with a welcoming attitude.
My wife and I recently enjoyed breakfast at Famous Toastery around 9:30 am. Even though there were other guests, we were seated immediately. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly. What really stood out was the exceptional service. This is the first restaurant I've been to where multiple servers checked in to make sure we had everything we needed – it made us feel very well taken care of! We both ordered omelettes, and I highly recommend the Western omelette. If you're looking for a great place to have breakfast, I highly recommend visiting Famous Toastery!

We ordered take-out about an hour ago (receipt attached in the photo). When we got home, we noticed that the item I circled on the receipt — OTS Sausage Gravy White — was missing from our order. Unfortunately, we couldn’t call because the restaurant was already closed after 3 PM, and it made no sense to drive back. The order was fully paid for, but part of it was not provided. Also, please note that we asked the cashier if there was a Military discount. She confirmed there was, and even after my husband showed his Military ID, the discount was never applied.

It was a first time for this place. My husband and I decided a random breakfast date was the move, so we found somewhere we hadn't been that was not too far away. It was a perfect choice. We both got the stuffed french toast, and it was so good, coupled with their warm maple syrup, and I had their freshly squeezed orange juice that was out of this world, in my opinion. Like, do they squeeze the oranges themselves each morning? I was superr impressed. Our server was friendly, but she only came to us once befor our food cam,e and when she dropped off the food, she quickly came back with the bill. Although she said no rush and the bill was just there for when we were ready, that is one of my pet peeves is the bill being brought before we request it. It almost always means the server is done with you for the most part, and she did not return until we wanted a box. What if we had needed something? This time that wasn't the case, but I didn't love that. So that is why I neglected one star from service. The atmosphere was nice however I thing need some updates like they're dated dated silverware old school. Wooden chairs that fell over anytime someone tried to put something heavy on the back like a book bag, and the floor was super sticky. So I'm not sure why. But that's what cost a star in atmosphere. Out side of that I realy did enjoy breakfast and we will be going back to try other things off the menu because every plate that passed by us looked and smelled amazing.

Midnight Diner is a popular 24/7 eatery in Charlotte, known for its classic railroad car-style space and retro 50s diner aesthetic. The vibrant atmosphere includes red pleather booths, checkered tile floors, neon lights, and rock 'n roll memorabilia. Locals love the Southern breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and late-night snacks offered here.
My wife and I were staying one night in Charlotte at the AC Marriott and needed a breakfast place in the morning. The Midnight Diner was a short walk from our hotel. We were immediately seated upon arrival on a Thursday morning. I ordered the Greek Omelette, a side of fruit, and Wheat Toast. I was hoping for some Sourdough, but they did not have any. The Wheat Toast however hit the spot. My omelette was filled with fresh vegetables and feta. I would order this again. My wife ordered the Sausage, Gravy, and Biscuits with a side of scrambled eggs. She described the biscuits as being soft like cake - in a good way. Our server was quick through the entire meal, and she offered us coffee to go. We were happy we chose Midnight Diner and will definitely go back when we return to Charlotte.

First visit today and we had breakfast for dinner. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. The western omelette was perfectly cooked with plenty of ham and cheese. The homemade biscuit was served piping hot. The star of the meal was the grits. They were creamy and a great portion came with my meal.

My server was nice, the atmosphere was th he atmosphere of a diner. But the food.. it's a different story. My daughter got the Fish and Shrimp w/ fried. I got 10 CT wings/ fries. My daughter enjoyed her S&F but didn't care for the fries.I was so disappointed with my meal (10ct Garlic Teriyaki wings)$$ The wings tasted like they were poured out of a bag, maybe washed, and if so, barely. Dipped in oil, sprayed with some watered down Teriyaki glaze and the garlic skipped completely. I was asked what kind of sauce i wanted, I asked for ranch but got.... well I'm not sure what it was that i got. If I ever go there again it will only be for the Chocolate Cake, which was very good. I didn't much care for the fries either.

We took a step back into the 50s. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. We got the best food ever. In fact one of our party members is the most pickiest person ever and she gave the place her blessing. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious, their fries were seasoned well, one of our group members ordered fish and said that it was delicious as well. Not a single complaint, it was fast and reasonably priced.

We’re are here visiting for a concert over the weekend from Tennessee and decided to try this place and we are so happy we did because this is by far one of the best restaurants we have tried in a long time. The food is packed with flavor and the portions you get are amazing! Our waitress Kei was nothing but amazing she stood on business she is constantly moving and helping out all of the customers!! She was ready to give us all of her recommendations and what the top choices were! She definitely needs some Recognition and a raise! You go girl!

After a night of meeting up with family, we walked to Midnight Diner for a quick bite. I was staying at the Moxy which is right next to the restaurant. There was a small wait to get in, but the food made it all worth it.
La D — Google review
The only problem with Midnight Diner is that it isn’t where I live. We stopped there for breakfast this morning and it was an 100/10 experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is equal parts retro, homey and welcoming. Our server Nacaska was an angel… she was so kind with the best vibes, made great recommendations on the menu and took great care of us while providing great conversation as well. I had the midnight special and every part of it was delicious, but the grits were the standout. I didn’t know grits could be that good. A must-visit if you’re in the Charlotte area, will definitely be going back anytime I’m in town!

Great service. Food was ok but a little too salty and toxic for me. My daughter loved the chicken and waffles. It was her first time trying it. I probably won’t be back because I’m more of a clean eater and when I saw what kind of syrup they were refilling the syrup bottles with that just did it for me.

Tried Flying Biscuit Cafe after hearing a lot about their biscuits and gravy, so I ordered that with chicken. It was decent-not bad, but I've definitely had better. The location is nice, the vibe is casual and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly. Lots of parking available and prices are very reasonable. Overall, a solid spot if you're nearby, but not something I'd go out of my way for.

If you're looking for Southern comfort breakfast in Charlotte, look no further My fiance and I just moved to Charlotte and we've been looking for a good affordable breakfast spot. The flying biscuit checked all of our boxes. Fantastic food, awesome service, very affordable, big portions. I got the stuffed French toast breakfast and I can't get over how good it was. The French toast was so fluffy and the raspberry puree on it was such a good balance between sweet and tart. The eggs and sausage were cooked perfectly, and the grits, biscuits, and apple butter were phenomenal. I've been searching for great grits and I think I've found my perfect grits. I ended up buying a jar of the apple butter and I'm very surprised it was only $5! All in all we will definitely be coming back. PS pro tip: put a little bit of apple butter in your coffee. It sounds weird but it's SO good

I tried this place because I love biscuits plus they don’t have this in NYC. The mini Shrimp and Grits is delicious the tomato sauce really compliments the dish. My only complaint is that I wish the biscuit was warmer but the apple butter that came with it was good though. The prices are reasonable and the service is quick. Everyone was very friendly.

The owners, originally from Memphis, bring their city's distinctive flavors to Charlotte. The hospitality at Uptown Yolk is exceptional, making guests feel like part of the family. They start and end each dining experience with a complimentary gift for the table.
This place was phenomenal! Such attentive service that we didn't even notice we'd waited 20mins for seating (no reservation! Lol) it was WORTH the Wait! The potatoes, the pancakes, the skillet... our party of 5 Chicagoans was not disappointed! I can not wait to go back, visit family and try another dish! And the ambiance was so engaging and bright. Really nice ambiance! Decorated very well with R&B/Hip-Hop themed art. They VALIDATE PARKING in the on-site garage. Menu had a nice selection of brunch items. Price point is a bit high. Service was fast and friendly. We went on a slow weekday. I tried the sweet potato waffle and wings along with the shrimp and grits.

Stopped in for breakfast and had a great overall experience. The French Toast, Home Fries, and Pancakes were excellent. Very friendly and quick service. Definitely would describe it as simple breakfast dishes done really well. The one criticism we had was the price. Nearly $100 after tip for a simple breakfast for two would likely keep us from making this place a more regular visit as opposed to just an occasional treat.

Finally decided to give this place a try since it’s been taking over my social media and they did not disappoint. I was a walk in and sat at the bar. Grabbed a mimosa while waiting. Would recommend making a reservation if you don’t have time to waste. Chicken wings seasoned to perfection , waffle was fluffy , grits thick , and the mimosa did what it was suppose to do. Nice atmosphere and playlist was spot on. Will definitely come back!!

This is my second time trying Uptown Yolk and it did not disappoint. I went for brunch and ordered the sangria/margarita (the name is escaping me) and I also ordered the french toast with chicken and added a side of eggs. The chicken was fried and seasoned perfectly! I took some home to my husband and he was disappointed I didn’t bring more. I am also not a french toast girlie but the dolce sauce on the side was a perfect complement to the french toast and fried chicken. My friend ordered the omelette with a side of potatoes. The potatoes were delicious and also fried to perfection. I also noticed they had a premium selection of liquor, this is def the perfect spot to take the girls or even a brunch date with your significant other.

I gave a 4 for the service time. It was a bit slow. Reservation was at 12:45 got our food almost a hour later. I will admit it was worth the wait with how great that damn food tasted. The majority of eating my meal I was cursing. Not out of anger but out of shock. The omelet had soooo much flavor. Then them potatoes. I'm still confused at how you can get those to taste so damn good. All that flavor and they were crispy. Overall, they had zero misses with the quality of the food. The timing was off... Dope spot. Just have to be patient I guess.

Nestled in the heart of Charlotte, Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails is a delightful dining destination that beautifully marries midcentury nostalgia with modern elegance. The restaurant boasts an inviting atmosphere featuring rustic design elements like a moss wall and a walnut live edge bar. With three distinct seating areas, including a rooftop patio offering stunning Uptown views, guests can enjoy their meals in various settings. The innovative cocktail menu showcases house-made shrubs and barrel-aged drinks, complemented by an impressive wine selection.
Food is freshly made with great flavor! Prices are awesome and the location is beautiful. They have a special before 6:30pm- Appetizers for $5. The deviled eggs were great (they aren’t sweetened with relish). I had the Pan Chicken with a side of Brussels, perfectly cooked, sauce was phenomenal. Drink- Yellow Ranger, which was just sweet enough and strong! The staff members were incredibly kind and always available for assistance. The lighting is very low so be mindful if you have vision issues. Parking is on the one way road just outside the location which is perfect if you have heels. Price was $54.00- Chicken, deviled eggs, extra side of Brussels, and 1 cocktail.

Excellent dining experience - on numerous occasions - but especially for dinner/late night cocktails. While they do it all and do it all reasonably well at that. They excel at creating a dinner & cocktail experience that feels both hip upscale yet full of southern charm. As our waitress stated, you really can't go wrong with anything on their dinner menu - the chef creates beautifully balanced flavors. The staff are all very pleasant and attentive. And overall they are able to accommodate even last minute reservations which is very appreciated. The only negative for me personally is that the inside gets a bit loud, good if you like the crowd feel, but the rooftop and (new) patio dining in front are perfect spots to enjoy a chill meal and some fresh evening air! Pictures: Tuno Crudo (100% would recommend - shocked by how good the flavors mix), Pan-Roasted Chicken w/gumbo & okra, Black Striped Seabass, Citrus Creme Brulee (best desert in Southend for anyone who loves citrus). Drinks: Hanging Garden & Ember's Kiss. Would recommend all of these!

The last time I came here it was about 3 years ago for a friend’s birthday. It was wonderful then and tonight seemed even more exceptional. What an enjoyable experience! From beginning to end, Lincoln Street Kitchen delivered on a tasty brunch. First, the host and server couldn't have been nicer. Super friendly and helpful staff. And the place is cute inside with a small rooftop deck for nice days upstairs. The food was delicious. I opted for the blueberry waffle, a side of eggs and a side of thick cut bacon. My friend went with the breakfast sando with a side of potato hash. The eggs were cooked to perfection; the potatoes needed a bit more seasoning. The waffle was delicious- just not hot. The bacon was a bit fatty but delish with amazing flavor. And the bloody mary (made extra spicy) was perhaps the best I've ever had. Amaze. I'd recommend and look forward to returning on my next trip to Charlotte!

Typically I do not leave many reviews but I felt compelled to in this case because this restaurant has great potential. I was excited to try it out when I dropped in this past weekend. The atmosphere and ambience were very nice, and I liked the lighting and overall vibe. Service was fine, but the food and portion sizes were the main issue. I appreciate that they avoid seed oils and cook the fries in beef tallow, but the overall food experience was disappointing. I ordered the bread service, wagyu tartare, tuna tostada, pasta of the week, steak sandwich, brussels sprouts, and sweet potato fries. The bread was dry and lacked flavor. The tartare was overpowered by the feta which threw off the taste. The tuna tostada was just okay, not bad but not great, and the portion was very small. The sweet potato fries were soggy which was surprising since I had heard they were usually much better. The pasta of the week was actually very good, but for twenty dollars the portion was extremely small, if not the smallest I have ever received anywhere. The steak sandwich was solid and I was happy with that. All in all, the foundation is here for something really good, but the food design, flavor, and portioning need improvement. I would be willing to pay a little more for better portion sizes. Spending fifty dollars and leaving hungry does not feel right. I would only go again if the menu and execution improve, but I do hope they make those changes because the place truly has potential.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lincoln Street Kitchen is the gem of the neighborhood for me! The cocktails are truly tailor-made— with unique essences that give each drink its own creator. The food is consistently delicious, comforting yet creative, and the atmosphere just wraps around you. Martin & Rai... delivered an awesome night-cap to my day. I'll see you for brunch... Steve.

Located in Charlotte, the Original Pancake House in Midtown is a top choice for brunch enthusiasts and fans of American breakfast classics. The menu features a variety of signature pancakes, including options like crepes with bananas and caramel sauce, as well as powdered sugar and chopped pecans-topped pancakes. For those who prefer waffles, the blueberry waffle is a delightful fruity option. Another highlight is the Dutch baby pancake with caramelized apples.
The food was great. I got a turkey bacon & egg combination with banana pancakes and it (obviously) came with bananas and powdered sugar. It had the perfect balance of fruitiness and sweetness. The banana just melted into my mouth like someone was feeding me them by the Bahamas beachside. It was amazing and had a great atmosphere for families. I would come back at the nearest chance. The waitresses we're also very nice and attending so of course I had to give them a tip.

First timer. We stopped by on a whimp around 1:30pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy but we were happy to be seated promptly. There was parking so we didn’t have issue with that. Service took a bit, however when the food came we were pleasantly surprised. It tasted really good. The restaurant was a bit dirty, that least the floors were. That kinda caught my attention. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended

I have been wanting to try this spot for a long time and had a chance today. The host was super friendly! The bacon was awesome. Pancakes were great. My server was.... let's just say she might of been having a scrappy day

I walked into this spot craving a hearty breakfast and was greeted by the comforting aroma of pancakes and fresh coffee. I ordered the apple pancake, which took about 20 minutes to prepare, but it was worth the wait—fluffy, warm, and bursting with cinnamon flavor. The service was attentive, and the staff made sure my coffee cup was never empty. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed morning meal. However, the parking situation was a bit challenging, with limited spots available. Also, the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours, so be prepared for a potential wait. Overall, a delightful breakfast experience that I would recommend to anyone in the area

Best omelettes I’ve had in a very long time. I know that they are known for their pancakes but the omelettes are outstanding as well. The fact that they come with a stack of pancakes makes the combo even better! I would highly recommended them but you better get there early as there is always a line for a very good reason! The food is delicious!

Food was terrific. I asked our waitress what her favorite item on the menu was. And I'll agree, the Mediterranean Omelet and Banana Pancakes were phenomenal! Very friendly, good food, over all great experience as a first time customer. My son enjoyed got the smiling pancakes then he Decorated it with the fruit cup.

Wonderful place to meet my Southeast coworkers for the first time! Quiet enough to talk & get to know each other, but loud enough to feel the early morning buzz of conversation over food. Would go again! (*leftovers still amazing next morning - waffles, hashbrowns, and bacon).
Shawndra — Google review
Decided to give this place a try… what a mistake. I got the bacon platter with hashbrowns and the three small pancakes. Fiancee got the chorizo scrambler. Both were impossibly bland. Even the bacon! To add insult to injury, our waitress would barely give us the time of day—much less give us an opportunity to ask for anything else. Don’t eat here… just get that Waffle House to go.

Italian restaurant
Little Mama’s Italian is a charming restaurant in Charlotte that aims to recreate the cozy ambiance of old-fashioned Italian eateries from the 60s and 70s. The menu features classic Mediterranean dishes, including their renowned fresh pappardelle and a unique mozzarella bar offering various types of mozzarella with accompaniments. Their Big Ribeye is also highly recommended.
Delicious Italian food spot in Charlotte! Lives up to the hype. The food was amazing, fair pricing and awesome staff! Didn’t have a long wait time, the waitress explained the menu to us, and let us know about the special, and how we can enhance our plates! While, i don’t live in the area, would love to come back and check out their mozzarella bar and other menu items!
Liz A — Google review
Our first visit to Little Mama’s was for lunch, and overall, it was a lovely experience. Our waitress Emma was attentive, the homemade mozzarella was delicious, the bread and red pepper infused olive oil was a great combination, the pasta dishes were classic but each with a little twist, and the tiramisu was wonderful. I do think the Fettucine al Fredo would benefit from a little extra cream to offset the almost-nutty Parmesan, but that’s a matter of taste. It was still delicious. The homemade rigatoni with chicken and broccoli with a delicate lemon-cream sauce was superb as it was. The tiramisu was delicious, but I passed along that I think it would be even better without the chocolate syrup, or maybe with a little less? It was a great tiramisu on its own and didn’t need the syrup IMO. Others may love it though. All things considered, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to return for dinner soon.

We had a great time at Little Mama’s at the South Park location. Our waiter, Moses was friendly and very knowledgeable about the good entrees. We had the freshly made ziti a la vodka with chicken and the broiled chicken with mashed potatoes. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu and a new dessert menu item, apple and walnut cake served with ice cream. Everything was delicious although the apple cake was dry and hard. I was asked for my honest opinion on the cake….I suggested that they serve it warm, as it may help it be more palatable. This location has ample parking. Great place for a date night!

This was the best dinner! We took my mom for her birthday dinner as she requested and couldn’t be happier that we brought her! We had a reservation and though we were there early for our reservation we got sat immediately (definitely recommend a reservation). Our waiter Steven was Insanely amazing!! He gave us all of the recommendations/his favorites and we listened to all of them! The food was amazing, we got the mozzarella presentation to start, which if I could’ve eaten only cheese I would. Again I can’t stress enough how good the food, drinks and service was! We can’t wait to go back!

We had an incredible experience at Little Mama’s! Our server, Jonathan R., went above and beyond to make our evening special. He provided outstanding service from start to finish; friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He even brought us three wine samples to help us choose the perfect pairing, which was such a thoughtful touch. The mozzarella presentation was absolutely amazing, both in taste and presentation, and our entrees were just as impressive. Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the service was top-notch.
Brian L — Google review
My wife and I stopped into Little Mama’s on Friday night around 4:50 PM, and even at that early hour, there was already a two-hour wait for a table. Thankfully, the bar was completely empty and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so we grabbed seats there and ended up having an amazing experience. Our server, Alexis, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and just a pleasure to be around. If we return (and we definitely will), we’ll be asking to sit wherever Alexis is serving. She was that good. We started with the fresh mozzarella, which is served in a bath of olive oil. I’ll admit, fresh mozzarella isn’t really my thing, so I wouldn’t order it again personally, but my wife loves it and said it was one of the best she’s ever had. We paired it with the white bean salami and roasted tomatoes on the side, both of which were very tasty. For the main course, I had the lasagna, and it was absolutely perfect—rich, flavorful, and made with obvious care. The portion size could have been a little larger for my taste, but the quality more than made up for it. My wife ordered the buttered noodles, which Alexis described as somewhat similar to an Alfredo, though it’s definitely not Alfredo. It’s a simple, buttery, cheesy pasta, and while the sauce reminded me slightly of what you’d find with shrimp scampi (but without any garlic), it was still pretty good. She added grilled chicken for some extra protein, but unfortunately, the chicken was on the dry side. The restaurant itself is lovely—intimate, cozy, and clearly popular, so if you don’t want to risk waiting or sitting at the bar, I’d highly recommend making a reservation. To those about to nosh—we salute you!

Came from UNC Charlotte to check this one out, a bit of a walk from the train station and not the best part of town but once you get here it’s super nice cute and abundant outdoor seating. Great little mom and pop place tucked away in NODA. Sammie selections for everyone, and different other offerings. The Cuban was great, sweet and salty. The Italian was also comforting, but their battered fries are absolutely a REASON to go! Prices are good for CLT. Try to eat outside and people watch aswell!

We sat outside for Sunday brunch around 1:30 pm. There was a ~35 minute wait for food, which we were told about before ordering. I got the Bubble & Squeak and it was delicious! My husband got a breakfast sandwich and he enjoyed his as well! I see some other reviews mentioned seasoning — ours was perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will be back! 😊
Savannah S — Google review
We both got the shrimp and grits, personally I found them to be too salty and oily for my taste. I also found the restroom door to be an anxious person’s worst nightmare since it is partially see through so someone can tell if someone is on the toilet… but the service was spectacular and the prices were reasonable.
Sarah M — Google review
The food was really good, but the restaurant itself as a business is bizarrely run. We waited for an hour for a biscuit, some fries, and two entrees at 11am on a Sunday. We had two little kids with us and a hour wait from ordering to serving is just too much for the kids. The place was busy but it wasn’t like people were lining up down the block busy, just usual NODA on the weekend busy. It’s also so strange to me that they don’t give you any number to put on your table, so the waitresses are holding the food running from the restaurant to the front around the building to the back dining area calling your name. There were times they would walk back and forth with the same plate of food for a few times because people weren’t paying attention. I feel so bad for them. And it’s such an easy problem to solve. The food was delicious and my savory bowl was such a creative take on oats. But was it 65 minute worth of deliciousness? Definitely not. There are plenty restaurants with great food in the area that have a much more reasonable wait time.
Ketti S — Google review
Food, environment and staff were all AMAZING! This was no doubt freshly made food from scratch, including the sausage. Highly recommended!
J L — Google review
Food was pretty mediocre. Long line that took awhile to order. Not sure why they don’t have a number system of some sort. It’s counter service but then no way to track where the food is going so the servers are just walking around yelling names through the crowded space. My food came first which was the Spanish omelette. It was fine but I also ordered toast and my husband got a breakfast sandwich. We decided to split both because we were hungry. We were done with the omelette before we even saw the toast or BEC about 15 minutes later. The toast had no butter or jam or anything. I feel like they should try to keep tickets together so people can eat together! I’ve worked in a restaurant my whole life so I feel for them - the kitchen guys looked extremely stressed as did the food runners. I can only assume they’re short staffed or lots of new people are being trained? I think if this place could get some things streamlined and organized it could be way better but right now it’s just a bit of a mess. Best thing we got was the pumpkin chocolate muffin - delicious!

I fell in love with Cuban food in Salisbury but the place is open odd hours and limited days so it's hard to get food from there. It was a necessary date night. I loved the look and feel of the restaurant. The mix of live music and DJ was top tier. The band sounded beautiful and they kept people on their feet dancing. My only issue why I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that our reservation was at 8:45, we got there at 8:41. We'd been sitting for 14 minutes before our waitress (Laura G) came to our table. She walked past us several times before even speaking to us and throughout our time there, she checked on everyone else but us. My boyfriend had to flag her down for the check. So we never got a refill on our sodas. She didn't seem friendly or cared. My boyfriend doesn't care to try new things so he didn't care for his food but I loved mine! I had the maricadas and it was flavorful and the presentation was great. Had the service been top notch, it would have been a better experience. I don't see myself coming back just because of the service unfortunately. She made it feel uninviting.

Sunflour Baking Company is a delightful bakery that offers a variety of delicious baked goods. One of their standout items is the Sunnys Special breakfast sandwich, featuring egg, sausage, sundried tomato pesto, and arugula. The bakery also prides itself on its cleanliness and friendly service. Customers appreciate the helpful staff who offer samples to ensure customer satisfaction. The blueberry muffin stands out for its natural sweetness from real blueberries rather than added sugar.
We had the pleasure of working with Lola at Sunflour Baking Company to order our wedding cake, and the entire experience was truly wonderful! Earlier this year, my husband and I had such a fun and memorable tasting with Lola. From the very beginning, it was clear how passionate she is about her craft—she was genuinely excited to create something special for our big day. We were especially relieved and grateful that Sunflour offers vegan options, which can be hard to find. When we arrived at our venue, we were blown away by the beautiful cake she had created. We ordered a two-tier naked cake: the bottom tier was vanilla with fresh strawberry filling, and the top was confetti cake with vanilla filling. It looked stunning and tasted even better! Lola personally delivered the cake and thoughtfully decorated it with our reception florals, adding such a lovely touch. Not only did my husband and I love the cake, but our guests did too—many were surprised to find out it was vegan! The flavor and texture were incredible. Communication with the Sunflour team was smooth and easy, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. Thank you, Lola, for creating such a beautiful and delicious cake. We can’t wait to work with you again!

First off impressions....very clean The lady behind the counter was very helpful and kind. We decided on a “dirty” latte and regular coffee along with a blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll. The lady let me sample my latte to make sure the sweetness was to my liking and it was. I thought that was a nice touch or customer service. The regular coffee was decent. The blueberry muffin is not your typical sweet muffin. It grabs its sweetness from the real blueberries. The cinnamon roll was super sweet but somehow I couldn’t stop eating it. You could taste the real cinnamon! We got there after lunch time and there just weren’t many options left to choose from. Knowing this I suggest going earlier to make sure you can pick what you like. Lots of vegan/gluten free options.

I live in Italy so my bar is set pretty high, and I have to say that I really, really enjoyed my meal at this restaurant, as did everyone else in my party. We sat in the gallery, which was a unique experience. Our server, Sophie, was helpful and attentive. The food was just delicious! We shared everything from bacon dates, skillet spoonbread (cornbread), fried brussel sprouts, octopus, mussels - and ended with an incredible take on bread pudding. I loved the artsy vibe, the women-powered kitchen, the committment to locally-sourced ingredients, and the high quality of the food and service. I should also note that we weren't in a rush and we ejoyed the time we spent lingering over this meal...but if you are in a hurry, this isn't the right place for you. My girlfriend and I came in for a visit on 2/28 before a concert nearby, and honestly it was a pretty big letdown. We were quickly greeted, and sat next to the bathrooms, which was a weird spot, so we requested to move to another table, which they obliged with no problem. We ordered an old fashioned and Negroni flight, which came out a couple of minutes apart. Not a big deal, but why not together? She wanted to order the fish and grits, but they were out of salmon, which I thought was very surprising considering it was 5 o’clock on a Friday. She asked the waiter for some recommendations which he responded “everything is good”. She asked about the steak, he said “it’s OK, but people normally prefer the sliders”. Thought it was a little bizarre he didn’t even even try to upsell that, but hey, whatever works. I ended up ordering the porkbelly while she got the sliders, and we got a side of fries to share. My pork belly came out a while after, which was the first time I’d seen our waiter since he took our order, and asked for a Don’t Worry Bee Happy instead of the Negroni flight… I had no idea sweet vermouth wasn’t sweet. That’s on me. The couple next to us was sat after we ordered, and got their food before us. Their sliders came out before ours. When we finished our entrees, she ordered another Old Fashioned. Our fries didn’t come out until the very end of our meal. The additional Old Fashioned didn’t come out until we finished the fries… by that point we were ready to leave. While looking for our waiter, we observed him looking at us through the kitchen, then duck behind the door when we made eye contact. Cool. We flagged down another member of waitstaff, that happened to be the manager on duty, explained our experience, and she was kind enough to comp our food since none of it came out together. Food was ok, but not flavorful. Porkbelly was tough, the sliders were bland, the fries were definitely frozen NOT the advertised “farm to table” fresh. I doubt my opinion would be different if the experience was better. It was like the cherry on the whole experience. Considering the price of everything being al la carte, I was hopeful but very disappointed. And, following this experience, the manager on duty gave us a card which had a QR code on it SPECIFICALLY for contacting the manager… we were never reached back out to. So, 4 months later, here’s my experience and review. 🫡

The food was amazing!! We started with the Warm Marinated Olives and the Bacon Wrapped Dates. They were so yummy. Finished both plates clean. We had the shrimp artichoke salad. Very fresh. Probably the best shrimp I’ve had. For our main plates we had the empanadas, meatballs and scallops. Every plate was left clean. Very delicious. Love that it is a women owned business! Owner was so nice and passionate about her restaurant. Love how she uses locally sourced Ingredients! Also has a little art gallery and adorable secret garden in the back that has a great atmosphere.Overall amazing experience.

Went recently to Artisan's Palate and had a decent experience. I accidentally booked a reservation for the following week and they were still able to get us a table with no wait on a Friday night. Food was decent, but pricey. Good variety of food options and a lot LOOKED good, but the flavor unfortunately wasn't a home run for anyone in our group. I normally have a single old-fashioned when I'm out at dinner and while the drink tasted good, I felt like I was drinking a non-alcoholic drink. I felt nothing after the first drink and proceeded to have another. After two drinks that should be almost straight whiskey I would expect to be feeling a little buzz. It felt as though I had a couple bud lights. Service was unfortunately the worst part of the experience. While the waiter was friendly, he was nowhere to be found every time we needed something. Even getting the check paid took about 10 minutes of waiting for him to come grab and charge the card. If the food was cheaper I would consider going back, but I was unfortunately disappointed given the 4.7 rating on google. I was expecting more.

So…was our first time here and I must say it was very disappointing food wise. This place is run by women, had quick service and support art which is why I am giving 2 stars, otherwise If I had to rate based on food level I would have given 1 star. Here is my feedback 1. The portion size for the price seems extremely small. A $17 empanadas with a count of 4 empanadas doesn’t make sense to me. 2. The tomato soup was tasteless. 3. Menu shows many vegan options but it was so hard to find a proper vegan meal. Appetizers like fries, Brussel sprouts were our options but we were there for dinner, so didn’t choose that. Please add some vegan meals 🙏🏻or mention you can make the items vegan atleast. 4. Such a cute place and decorations but it was burning inside, maybe use some AC? Overall I don’t think I recommend this place based on what I got but maybe it’s good for other people.

They also have food which I didn’t know about. Will definitely be back!

We might have found our new go-to spot for good food, great service and amazing coffee! Me, my wife and my daughter stopped by ROOTS Cafe on a Saturday morning and it was obvious why the place was packed. Only two tables were open so we quickly scooped one up. You order at the register so we went with a Bananas Foster Latte and Crème Brulee Latte to drink. Both of those were top notch! For food, we ordered Avocado Toast, Breakfast Burrito and the BELT. Food was brought out timely and tasted amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. We will definitely be back again even though it is a 45 minute drive! Would highly recommend ROOTS Cafe!

Really good expresso martinis! Intimate bar and work, social setting! I had this place on my to go to list and I am happy I finally go around to going! The Latin style breakfast was amazing! Definitely going back

Delicious food and ambiance, especially if you can get a patio table on a nice day. They have great coffee as well. One of the best tomato soups I’ve had! My only complaint is that seating is very limited and it’s an order-at-the-counter situation, so if there are no tables, it’s kind of an awkward wait.

I luv to venture out of Fort Mill and into Charlotte and RooTs was a great find !! I don’t eat a lot of meat but the soup that I had was DELISH !! ..it had meatballs and rice .. name ? 💭 can’t remember 😛.. but the pleasant staff , the decor and the ~just right size~ of the dining space gave it an authentic vibe I want to return to !

The smoked salmon and sweet potato hash was delicious. The sauce they gave with the hash was great too. Everyoen who worked there was attentive and very sweet, warm and welcoming. Atmosphere was really cool and my espresso (not pictured) was great as well.

Nestled in the charming Providence Park neighborhood, Poppy’s Bagels & More is a beloved spot for breakfast and beyond. This delightful café offers an array of mouthwatering options to kickstart your day, from the indulgent Poppy's Challah French Toast to the classic Lox Works bagel. The menu features not only specialty sandwiches but also homemade soups and delicious omelets that are sure to satisfy any craving.
A little slice of heaven particularly for anyone who is from up North. This is one of the only places that offers Salt bagels and they’re delicious! The price is comparable to any breakfast but it’s the service that won me over. Emilio is a fantastic asset to the store here! The environment is comfortable and welcoming similar to any bodega or deli. The bagel selection is fantastic and again the service is incredible. Treat yourself to a toasted slice of heaven.

We have been coming to Poppys for about 9 years and lately we have only come like 1 time every 3 months because they have gone down hill so much. You would think coming first thing when they open you would get the freshest bagels but this was like biting in to a rock. So horrible and they just don’t care anymore so disappointing!

Poppy's Bagels is a great stop for breakfast and lunch! The staff is friendly and the food is good. The omelets are extraordinary!

Great bagel shop. Fast friendly service. Great selection of bagels Bagels were very good. Had the cream cheese and lox spread on my onion bagel. Perfect amout of lox to cream cheese. Would get that again. Bagel egg sandwich was very good as well. I would go back.

The staff was super friendly! The poppys club sandwhich was very good. They did not skimp on ingredients. Just wish they had toasted The Bagel like I had asked but it was still good . The Italian rainbow cookies are so fresh and delicious. The blueberry blintz is awesome. Just needed to add a little powdered sugar to top it off. Not a lot of atmosphere, but definitely a good spot for breakfast or lunch. Does have some outdoor seating. Great coffee, especially the chocolate raspberry. They also have a great selection of cookies and pastries. Yummy!!@
Kimmie G — Google review
While visiting Charlotte, we stopped by this spot to grab a dozen bagels. The area is nice, and there’s outdoor seating, but the bagels were a letdown—bland and got hard by the next day. Everyone in our group shared the same sentiment. The place is clean, but I won’t be back for the bagels."
Eronini D — Google review
South Blvd location. We were excited to get some bagels. Got there an hour before they closed and they were already closing up shop. We were greated by a sourpuss who said kitchen is closed. We just wanted take away bagels. No one would wait on us. They turned off the case lights. We walked out. Staff rude, place looked janky.
Miss B — Google review
I was excited to try Poppy’s after seeing so many positive reviews. I ordered a ham, egg & cheese on a toasted everything. The bagel was good but not by any means exceptional. It was a good bagel sandwich. The store and bathroom was in my opinion, run down, and not well kept. So with a good bagel and less than stellar upkeep, Poppy’s gets a three start review.

Amélie's French Bakery & Café is a charming and popular spot known for its delectable pastries, light meals, and coffee drinks. The café recently moved to NoDa from its original location in Villa Heights, offering the same beloved classic French treats. With large windows providing views of the bustling bakery and a lovely private patio, patrons can savor their food indoors or outdoors.
Great place for some nice pastries and sweets. They also have some food items you can order. The place transforms you to Paris when you walk in. The setting and art works on the wall are all French based. Plenty of sits both inside and outside. Lovely place to meet for meeting or just to hang out with your friends or love one.
Sevor K — Google review
Beautiful Interior. It is designed like a French from outside as well. The staff is polite and kind. Tried to display the main attractions of France. Food was good but I felt much sweeter than regular.

Enjoyed my experience. It had been a while and I decided to come with family for a quick little brunch sesh and they loved it. Pastries were nice and soft. Nicely sweetened. Coffee and lattes were very good as well. Nice balance of coffee and sweet. A bit pricey but granted we did buy a lot. Atmosphere is very chill and quiet enough for people to bring their work and have a treat. Lots of parking also, its right in front of Sprouts market and beside the Atrium Health Urgent Care.

We stopped by this Amelie’s in the NoDa area of Charlotte after seeing it recommended on several food lists, and it completely lived up to the hype. The place has a wonderful mix of French bakery treats along with great options for breakfast and lunch. We couldn’t resist trying the macarons, especially the fun flavors like peanut butter and jelly and coconut lime. They were a bit larger than usual and packed with great flavor. The café itself is absolutely charming, filled with creative French-inspired décor that makes it feel special from the moment you walk in. The service was warm, friendly, and made the visit even better. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their pastries!
Isaac W — Google review
Have been going to Amelie’s since 2009. Boy has it changed but keeps getting better! Went for me and my husband’s anniversary last week after dinner as a throwback. We moved an hour away and did dinner in Charlotte also. Of course we had to get the SCB ( salted Caramel Brownie) and decaf which they brewed fresh. I am gluten and dairy free and didn’t think I’d have anything for me other than coffee but shockingly the pbj macaroon and macarons were both gluten and dairy free. Always a fav!
Alexandra T — Google review
As a Francophile I’m pretty disappointed in Amelie’s. I used to come to Amelie’s park road location in high school and was impressed with the assortment of deserts, treats and most importantly baguettes. I move away for some year during college and then moved to France after college for a year. Maybe it’s my experience but their sandwiches are just not good any more. This is my third time having a bad experience specifically with the baguettes. Baguettes are so simple but so important to a good sandwich and a good French establishment. These baguettes sandwiches are not small but are just bad. They need massive improvement. Pictured below is the sandwich I bought for $12. It’s a quarter of the entire sandwich which shows really how small these are. Goat cheese is in the title of the sandwich but i can’t taste it at all! Look at the picture yourself and try to find the goat cheese! There is none! Owners, if you are reading this. PLEASE go to France and then come back and review your menu. You can make improvement and bring this establishment back to its glory. It has fallen so far from excellent.

I cannot even begin to tell you how in love I am with Amélie's. This place is such a vibe! Perfect place to meet up with friends or family. Food/drinks were amazing! Such a comfortable atmosphere. To beat the crowds I'd highly recommended an early weekday or weekend morning.

I really like this cafe. The pastries are delicious. The interior is gorgeous. I've been to a similar cafe, but in Uptown, and it was terrible,it was like they were two different cafes. That's why I love going to this particular cafe, in Noda.

Located in East Boulevard, Charlotte, Kid Cashew is a rustic-chic restaurant offering modern Mediterranean cuisine and creative cocktails. The spacious patio and hip atmosphere make it an ideal spot for dining out. Families with young children can take advantage of the free meals for kids aged 6 and under during weekend brunch hours. The restaurant prides itself on being family-friendly, providing amenities such as free parking, booster seats, and changing stations.
If you want to feel like you're at your best friend's house, who happens to be a chef, you've come to the right place. Casual dining inside, covered "front yard" dining, and open sidewalk dining. Parking can be a little tricky, but you've got to make it happen. They have NO HEAT LAMPS in the kitchen, so all food is brought out as it's ready. We love sharing our food and eating slowly, so this was a perfect fit for us. Check out my menu photos and our food choices. Our server, Kimberly, really made our night special. Her service and recommendations were spot on, and her birthday candle lighting made us all laugh. We got there a few minutes before 6pm, so we ordered a bunch of appetizers and a couple of entrees. We will definitely be back on a regular basis.
Patricia V — Google review
🍽️ Before I mention the negative, I do want to say the food was great, our server was very attentive, and the vibe is fun! It's our second time here and we will probably go back; although this time the tres leches kind of tasted like a refrigerator - which I did mention to the server. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Okay, that being said... The bathroom was absolutely gross. 🤢 The smell was like stale urine, there were paper towels overflowing as well as on the floor. Honestly if I would have seen the bathroom before I ate I may not have stayed. The chair rail was sticky with dust, so it probably wasn't a one-off. The back hall looks like a storage closet. No I did not mention this to management because at that point the meal was over and my party was leaving. I hope management sees this and takes a good couple hours to clean up the back hall as well as the bathrooms, especially the left one that we used. We love supporting local businesses, and hope this will be taken to heart.

Amazing food, amazing quality, amazing service, and amazing variety! The chicken has great wood-fired flavor and everything is always hot and fresh. I love there is something for the whole family. Great lunch menu prices that will keep you coming back. Also really nice variety of vegan foods. A lot of seating, but it does get very busy and a bit loud. Regardless the atmosphere is wonderful and the team working is always phenomenal. If you're on the fence, just give it a try! Ordered lamb burger, chicken with the side of beans and chips, mountain trout, quinoa avocado, brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese, chicken skewers, and wood-fired octopus - which was cooked perfectly. Was also given their strawberry shortcake for my birthday and it was incredible! I'd recommend any of the above dishes and I'm sure the rest are great too.

Our first time at Kid Cashew. We learned of this place as it was featured on the CLT Burger Week page. Too bad we missed it as our burger week stop, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Happy Hour specials. Our table having two shareables, a beer, a margarita, and a $6 kids meal that includes their drink, our total was $30! The Brussel Sprouts alone are worth another visit. My daughter had the Mac and cheese and chips. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, always nice when it’s not blue box for kids. We’ll definitely be back, as I am excited to bring an appetite and explore the menu. The service was just okay. Not horrible by any means, but not exceptional either. The restaurant inside has a bit of grime just a layer of it, everywhere. It’s a bit of the aesthetic, but I also think it is a bit too authentic, if you know what I mean.
Clayton A — Google review
This place is different and delicious. I went with my bookclub for dinner. Kevin was fantastic! He made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing. We mac and cheese, salads, meatballs, gyro, rotisserie chicken, chicken and avocado sandwich. All of the dishes were great. I will definitely go back so I can try more from the menu.
Estelle J — Google review
The food was delicious. The spinach and feta dip was everything I imagined. The Big Mac daddy burger and chips were 10/10. My margarita was strong and tasty. Bee was an amazing waitress, very helpful and great personality. My first time and I will definitely be back. The flies were the only negative lol, something the restaurant can’t control. I’ll be eating inside next time.
Jasbrianna W — Google review
I was visiting Charlotte from Indiana and heard about Kid Cashew from google. I am so glad I found this spot. To start off, I ordered the wood fired beets, and they were really interesting. They had a beautiful char on them. The combination of the goat cheese, mandarins, beets, and pistachios was unique. The pistachios and the mandarins added a nice sweetness to the dish. I also ordered the chicken and avocado sandwich. It was amazing! The chicken itself had so much flavor because of how it's cooked. The bread is local and very good too. The atmosphere is nice. It's a little noisy but you can still hear your party just fine. The decor didn't make too much sense. It was very quaint, though. I definitely recommend Kid Cashew if you are in the area. My sister and her husband traveled from Raleigh to meet me, and they also loved their food. It's definitely worth it and inexpensive, too.

Great! Check out thier special menu. See website. I recommend go early during lunch hours. Service staff is wonderful. They have nice cloth silverware. Free parking. It’s incredible place to take a date or business lunch. It’s great vibe . I really like the hamburgers the most. Wood fire burgers Request for mgmt- is there a way to remove onions from mac and cheese. Is there a way to update the bathrooms and add paper towels to dry hands. Reminds of good ole college bar bathrooms

I finally get to try this place for the first time. The breakfast burrito was ok. In my opinion they could add more seasoning and toast it a little bit. I asked for a plate to the kitchen lady and she said "we don't have plates". Look at the pic below lol. I don't know what was that about...

Several of the employees are entitled rude . My crew was restoring the apartment's power across the street and it was 98 degrees that day. My guys went in and got a drink & sandwich. The register had a option for a tip ( to tip the cashier for ringing up a few things), apparently one of my guys didn't pay a tip and she chased them out into the parking lot cussing and treating them like scum.. we was still working the following day ( haven't went home yet and going on 27 hours without sleep or rest ), and it happened a 2nd time when they went for another Gatorade and sandwich, this time 2 employees pulled the same crap..I also believe they are the one who called the news crew out about us leaving the apartments without power ( we was fixing/ replacing the bad underground power line that burned up, and we was going the best we could under the conditions). I don't recommend this place unless you like paying a tip for someone to do their job, because you probably want enjoy outcome if you don't tip

Truly the best deli in all of Charlotte!! Best prices, diverse menu, great service and live music or DJ most nights of the week…I mean who could ask for more?? Well being plant-based, I could ask for vegan food and, bonus, they have so many vegan options for being a deli. Even have one of the best vegan breakfast burritos I’ve ever had and for an unbeatable price!! Thank you Rhino for being the best neighborhood spot to hang pretty much any day or night. 🙌🏾

Good place to get a sandwich. If you come around lunch time expect a decent wait. They have a grand selection of beer, wine, and grab and go snacks. We tried the veggie sandwich and the bread was lackluster but the flavor of the vegetables inside was great! A more wholesome ciabatta with a crust would bring it next level.

Awesome deli and market for a quick bite or drink! They offer drink and snack options not found many other places but also the usual drinks and snacks as well. The deli sandwich’s are very good! The rueben has tons of beef piled high to satisfy. The raw rhino sandwich is perfect for those who want a vegan option but also want to satisfy their hunger. The drinks are not typical drinks you can find, which is one of my favorite parts. I love the drink options they offer. I’m definitely a fan of the Rhino.

Everything you’ve read about the breakfast burrito is TRUE! Randomly craving one and found this spot. So glad I came here, hands down best tasting and well seasoned. Legion Brewing Plaza Midwood is a popular brewery that has been making waves in the Charlotte beer scene since 2015. Founded by Phil Buchy and Newton Craver, this flagship location in the historic Plaza Midwood neighborhood offers a vibrant indoor-outdoor atmosphere, featuring trivia nights and live music. In addition to its original spot, Legion Brewing has expanded with locations in SouthPark and West Morehead St., as well as a production facility called Trolley Barn Fermentory on the west side.
Fantastic space, drinks and even better staff! Held an event here for our wedding and couldn’t have been better. Shavoyah with Offline - This is a nice intimate bar. The food and beer was good and service was wonderful as well. I had the Korean grill cheese. It came out fast and hot. So delicious. I got some baked wings to go. And although they were good, I don't think it was worth $15 for only 6 wings. I wish I asked before ordering them. Its an ok place to catch a game as long at you don't care to see multiple as they only have 2 tvs. Overall, liked this place and will return to try some of their other delights.

It’s a cozy place inside, a place to relax and catch up with friends. Did not try the food. My only critique is the beer options are mostly all hop forward and there was one dark beer, whereas I prefer something in between.

Looking forward to giving this place a higher review next time we come to Charlotte. Spent $15 on a Uber only to find out it was closed for a private event. Note to business owners, Always update your social media. Completely wasted the ride cost and plans. Your decisions around private events need to take into account people’s plans and this did not give us a good impression of your establishment.

After lunch at Whiskey Warehouse, we popped right across the street at Plaza Midwood to Legion Brewing Charlotte… Upon entering into Legion Brewing at Plaza Midwood Charlotte, we were attracted to the wooden furniture throughout its premise. The tables, the bar counter top and even the wooden beams at the brewing area – they all point to a homely and friendly atmosphere here. At Legion Brewing, they bring the community together. Whether, you’re dining, chilling or even working, Legion provides a clean positive vibe for everyone to enjoy its premise. There are some daily specials/program at Legion Brewing. But we couldn’t really make out what does “Vinyl on Tap” meant or whether there was any deals. Hence, we went right ahead for some recommendations instead. This time, they had the following on tap at Legion Brewing Charlotte: Easy Drinker Penguin Pilsner Lunar Daze House Sparrow Saison Hop Forward Juicy Jay Mango Juicy Jay Tiny Dancer Hopchiller Tart & Funky Supernova (Cherry Lemon) Sparkle Party Ikimasui Gluten Free Hard Seltzer Hard Cider Dark & Roasted Slainte Quit Your Wine-ing Ghost of Kiev Red Eyes Black Dragon Wine Stone Bay Archer Roose Diamarine Marc Cellars As you can see from the selection, Legion Brewing has its grounds covered. If you’re a craft beer lover, you have the pilsners, IPAs and Stouts. There are also seltzers and ciders for those who wants a choice of gluten free. There are also wine and prosecco selections. With the non-alcoholic selection of soft drinks and kombucha, that’s pretty much everyone covered. We asked for some IPA recommendations and this time, we had a sessions IPA (Tiny Dancer) as well as a juicy mango IPA (Mango Juicy Jay) which came up to a total of $14 (with $2 tips)… For the full review of Legion Brewing, visit 2bearbear today!

Guests have enjoyed a variety of dishes, including wedge salad, lobster bisque, steak with eggs and hash, and Tomahawk steak.
Wonderful first experience at Link and Pin for my dad’s birthday! So many menu options it was hard to choose. Wine and drink menu is on an iPad which is very convenient. Glass of red was spectacular and nicely priced. Staff was amazing from start to finish even giving my dad a card for his birthday. Food was spectacular! Beautifully decorated restaurant. Had a girls brunch here for one of my friends bday. Had an 11a reservation and place was empty when we arrived but still had to wait abt 15min for our table to be ready. Not sure what that was abt. All of us enjoyed our food, I got the burger and it was delish. Also got the lemon drop mocktail which was very fruity and refreshing. I’d definitely go back and try some other items. Also our waitress was amazing with an even more amazing singing voice. Didn’t expect those type of vocals to our friend for her bday but it was a welcomed surprise!

This place is really beautiful! We sat in a booth at the bar and had a couple of appetizers with drinks and wine. We were able to really watch the bartender interact and she was so personable and knowledgeable. Princess our server was fantastic. I took one star because of the overabundance of floor managers. I'm not sure what they were expecting on a Thursday night but they just had too many floor managers. One in particular really didn't have anything to do and he seemed to be trying to get 10,000 steps on his fitbit. He speed walked past our table probably 15 times. He was fully unnecessary on the scene and should have been asked to go home. It was annoying to have him zooming by repeatedly and other than that I can highly recommend the restaurant.

As a long time frequenter of Link & Pin both Arboretum and Southend, I was devastated to hear about the Southend location closing. Thankfully the Arboretum location is still going strong! This place is fantastic for all around dining experiences but my personal favorites is their late night cocktails and apps/deserts! You can enjoy lunch on the terrace or dinner in the dining room - all are excellent choices. Our waiter for lunch this past weekend Alex was new to serving and did a fantastic job! All of the servers we had in the past have been so helpful and friendly - the know how to keep a very kind and professional staff! We can't wait to go back for more late night cocktails! 🍸

We had a great Sunday dinner with amazing service by Matt. Not only did he provide amazing service, he was a great bartender! Everything was great and will be going back again.

My brother & I went to Link & Pin twice during his weekend in Charlotte while visiting from out of town because we loved our first visit so much. The vibe is great - lush, moody, inviting. And the service and food were fantastic. On our first visit (this past Saturday at lunch), we sat outside on the patio, and our server Ashley Leigh was gracious, helpful and made us feel very welcomed. We both had the chicken sandwich & loved it. Shoutout to the Cameron Leslie the bartender for the incredible Illegal Contraband cocktails – some of the best we’ve had (with instructions on how to best enjoy them!). For our final hangout of the trip, we snuck in a quick snack on Sunday afternoon before my brother headed to the airport. He got the chicken tenders & a Moscow Mule – high praise! But the stars of the show for both of us were the phenomenal homemade donuts and dipping sauces – the kitchen staff are outdoing themselves. To make our visit even better, Luce our server was wonderful to work with and made sure we had just enough time to enjoy our treats & still leave on time. I also need to praise Louis the manager for greeting us warmly on both visits and treating us like family. He is passionate about creating an atmosphere that goes beyond just a great restaurant – he wants it to be a community. And you can tell that the staff members feel appreciated and motivated to go above & beyond. My brother & I have already planned a double-date with our spouses when he and his wife return in November, and my husband & I will visit Link & Pin together in the next couple weeks. We're excited!

Five Yelps! This was our first time participating in Chef Alyssa cooking class and it was nothing short of amazing! The wild game cooking class was very organized and Chef Alyssa walked us through all the recipes, step-by-step. We had an amazing time and met/made some new friends. You're allowed to BYOB but if you don't there are alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages available to purchase on site. Definitely a great date night idea! We can't wait to check out brunch!

My wife and I went here for a date night, we did the Indian Cuisine. It was a wonderful experience. They had bottles of wine for sale while we learned. We met some great people at our station and the class was very easy to follow. We will definitely be back!

I reserved a company team building event at Chef Alyssa’s kitchen last week and it was a wonderful experience. Andrew was extremely helpful during our reservation process in helping me decide which class to take - cooking lesson or Chopped competition. We decided on the Mediterranean menu cooking lesson with Chef Alyssa. We all had a great time and enjoyed our creations. Highly recommend!

Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen is amazing! I’ve taken several classes here (doughnuts, fall in the south, bread making, Mexican cuisine, cake decorating) and every single one has been awesome. The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and make the experience enjoyable for everyone. It’s a great solo activity or group activity, and I love the little recipe books they give each participant. I highly recommend for anyone in Charlotte looking to try a cooking class!

Absolutely great experience for me and my 11 yr old as her birthday gift this year. Really hands on. Chef Ja Quari was fun and personable as well the rest of the team. Our apple fritters were a little under-done and he gave us his finished batch while ours finished cooking! Goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction. The whole place was very clean and orderly. The food was fresh and tasted amazing once we finished! We'll be back for the teen/parent classes as often as they have them!

Alyssa and friends had me over for dinner, and the chicken cutlets was perfect. The flavor in the macaroni and cheese was quite delicious. 10/10 would recommend to a friend

I was invited to attend a cooking class as a social event by one of my software vendor, what a great venue. I would love to do a team building here. The Chef was organized and friendly. We all enjoyed ourselves and learned some new cooking techniques as well. I would highly recommend this venue for a group event.
Sk F — Google review
I booked Chef Alyssa's Kitchen as the annual work team-building event, and the experience completely exceeded my expectations. I attended a cooking class before and thought this might be similar, but it was on an entirely different level! The location is excellent. There is plenty of parking and great breweries in walking distance. The kitchen was spacious! The team-building event was in a smaller back room, but it had plenty of room for us to complete our Chopped Challenge. The Chopped Challenge might be the best event I have ever booked - even the people who do not typically cook had a wonderful time. It gave the people who love to cook a unique way to express themselves. Overall, it was an exciting way to learn some new things! We had Chef Kaegan and Chase leading our class. They were helpful, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable! They were accomodating to the food allergies in my group and went above and beyond to take care of us all! They even provided suggestions and helped with the challenge when needed (my group needeed A LOT of help.) Part of the Chopped Challenge experience is a chef plated meal. The group loved the short rib that we chose as our dish. I was plated a dairy-free meal and offered a vegan meal, which was a nice surprise. An even better surprise was at the end when I got my own vegan cheesecake for dessert! I would go back for a class, but I would love even more to participate in the challenge again! Even though some of the mystery ingredients provided were things I would never keep in my own kitchen, they were so fun to cook with.

Reid's Fine Foods has recently expanded its presence in Charlotte with a new location on the first floor of The Duke Energy Center, showcasing their commitment to providing high-quality food and wine. This vibrant spot features an inviting wine bar, a butcher shop, a deli, and fresh food options alongside a dine-in restaurant perfect for those seeking delicious meals on-the-go. Known as the ultimate destination for gourmet groceries in Charlotte, Reid's also offers an enticing Sunday brunch at their SouthPark location.
I stopped by Reid’s this past Tuesday for the first time since before the new year it’s been a while since I’ve worked uptown, so I hadn’t had a chance to visit. I’ve gotta say, it’s a noticeable improvement from what I remember. The space felt cleaner, more organized, and everything just seemed to run more efficiently. Definitely a positive change. Oh, and do yourself a favor and get the TBA....it’s absolute fire!

Small sized but very high quality Reids foods. The other location is far far larger, but this one does have great foods.

I love Reids in South Park and Myer’s Park, but the service here was somewhat offputting. Pepper sent us back and forth between counters, making it difficult and confusing to order, and offered zero explanation as to why she was making it so difficult. Between each time, she was on her phone behind the counter and then handling food after touching her phone screen. Jabari really saved the day, stepping in and taking care of us with a smile. He went out of his way to accommodate us and is the reason we’ll come back to this location. Well, Jabari and the amazing bagel sandwich!!

The team at Reid’s Fine Foods on Trade St. is absolutely incredible! The chemistry between the staff is unmatched, you can feel their energy the moment you walk in. Even during the busiest times, they keep things running smoothly and absolutely kill it every single time. The food? Always fresh, delicious, and consistently top-notch. It’s clear they care about both their customers and their craft. If you’re in the area, this spot is a must-visit!

I had never been to Reid's before. It was lunch time, the place was packed, and there were three lines (salad, soup/sandwich and hot bar). I chose the hot bar, and the line moved quickly. The server was efficient, but helpful in pointing out the vegetarian options. His recommendations were good, and I enjoyed my cheesy-green bean entree, mixed vegetables and BBQ cauliflower sides. My sister had a large salad made to order, with fresh fruits.

Great job on the breakfast bowl. Too much salt. And please stop cooking pork bacon on the skillet with Turkey bacon. I don’t want pork grease on my bacon. Eggs, don’t cook in oil, non stick pan please.

Checked out the new uptown Location today. Order was completely wrong but didn't realize until I got back to my office - no portobello, no roated peppers, no spinach, no cucumber, nothing spicy... instead romaine, tomatoes, cheddar cheese (?!), and loaded down with red onions, yuk. Don't have time to go back to get it corrected. You'd think for a $9 wrap they'd put a little more consideration into their work...

RedEye Diner, located on East Trade Street in Charlotte, is a popular spot serving up classic home-style dishes for breakfast and lunch every day. The diner's menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering items including pancakes, burgers, steaks, and sandwiches. Known for their delicious pancakes, RedEye Diner also serves up other breakfast favorites like chicken and waffles, biscuits & gravy, and French toast.
My friends and I were there for a science conference. Absolutely amazing!! We went three times to Redeye. Andre served us the first day and Darrell served us the other two days. They both had excellent service and great strawberry milkshakes. I love diners and they made the experience one to remember. Thanks so much Andre and Darrell (I hope I’m spelling your name right!) From the redhead girl that wanted the strawberry milkshakes!

I love the vibe of this restaurant, and the fact that it's open 24 hours. The food is great, too (even though it's a lot of carbs/sugar). We had the chicken & waffles, the shrimp & grits, and a biscuit sandwich. Honestly, I've never fully appreciated chicken & waffles, because it seems to dry for me, but it seemed good as far as chicken & waffles go (the dish seems meant to be dry, so we only get them to experience how a new place does them for comparison). The chicken & grits were great, and will probably be my go-to in the future. The biscuit was light and buttery (definitely not dry like the chicken and waffles). As a side note, they don't take Apple Pay or other tap payment methods. So make sure you have cash or a card before going. Maybe chalk that up to a more authentic (rather than modern) experience in a classic diner. Next time I'm downtown and hungry after midnight, I'm definitely heading back here. Great place overall.

Andrea was our server and all I can say is wow!!! What a very well mannered young man! I got the California burger with fries and my husband got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and fruit we got a strawberry cheesecake for dessert and all I can say is the food was incredible. One of the freshest burgers I’ve had in a very long time the beef you could tell was locally sourced and very fresh the food all around was wonderful the atmosphere was great it was quiet but we came during hours right before dinner rush. This dinner is open 24 hours the staff was kind and the building was clean. What a great experience.

I was out with my girlfriend! I don’t know why but on a Saturday night, half of the bars & clubs were closed in uptown! ?? We got one drink and decided to get some food. Love that this place is open 24/7. For it being really late, the employees were in a great mood. Our waitress, African American woman, she was also a bartender. Soo nice. I should’ve gotten her name for this review. I’d definitely come back. They also have a lot of options on the menu. From wings to omelettes to spaghetti lol.

This was an amazing dining experience for a late night! Our server was incredibly friendly and had great food recommendations. Everything we tried tasted so good and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely visit again.

Food was great! Hot and just right. Not all that busy nor was the entire area of Charlotte. Guy showed me where there bathroom was. I got lucky to sit next to Dolly Parton & Nirvana. Not for real. Just the gold disc on walls. Table 7. Surprised they were open so late or I mean 24 hours. Cool coat hangers. Karissa looks like she a wants to attend college. Maybe for design. Cool scarf for ponytail. Thank you kindly. Menu simple and sweet. Not a dennys but much better! I got the bubba. I would have liked to order French toast or chicken fried steak or pancakes.

I was in Charlotte for a show with a few of my clients (Roshon Fegan, Matthew Finley and Aaryn Doyle) who came in from LA and Canada. I wanted to give them a good southern experience and the Red Eye did not disappoint. Our waitress Nicole recognized my clients and had a great moment with us. The staff were amazing and respectful of our space and we made sure to do pictures after our meal. The food was excellent and the vibe was what we needed at the time.

The place has a nice decoration and the menu has a lot of options. Meanwhile we waited 15 min to be seated, 40 min to have a server coming to our table and more 40 min to have our omelettes. The serves are not very friendly though. Try don’t use the restroom, because it’s disgusting! The price is OK, but you need to count with the parking that is around $20 (in a Sunday).

Landmark Restaurant Diner is a casual roadside stop known for its sandwiches and classic diner dishes, open until late six days a week. Located on Tryon St., just 5 miles from uptown Charlotte, this family-owned establishment offers a diverse menu featuring Greek, Italian, and American cuisines. The diner has been serving the community for over 30 years and is praised for its great breakfast options and homemade desserts.
I attended a surprise birthday party hosted by some long-time friends, and it was amazing! I love coming to this place because the service is always excellent. The food is served quickly and piping hot. They ensure that everyone who walks through the doors is treated like family. The combination of great service and delicious food makes it a standout. In my opinion, the Texas burger and fries are the best items on the menu. Their fries are among the best in the city! I am already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended!

Have been coming here since childhood. Many menu options. Many classics on the menu that I can remember. Also newer options. They even have a full bar. Kids menu available. Seemed to only have 1 server during our visit so we waited a bit before we could order. The hostess brought our drinks out.

Nice restaurant / diner on the east side of Charlotte. I went with our social group. We had a party of 11. Service was great. Food was fresh and delicious. All seem to enjoy their entrees. Must be a pretty popular place as the restaurant was quite full while we were there. Good food, generous portions, therefore a good value. Try them out!

Okay, so this is a legendary locals haunt in Charlotte that everyone has to eat at once. This place is famous; artists paint it and authors write about it. The service is the best every time; many waitresses have been there for years — so strike up a convo! From the dessert cooler to the Greek spaghetti to the Tom Turkey to the Chicken Livers to the Sirloin, you can’t go wrong. Pro Tips: Try the Italian Tour, Key Lime Pie, Grilled Flounder, and anything from their daily specials menu.

My family and I recently moved to East Charlotte and have been hearing great things about the Diner. Gave it a try this past weekend and it was amazing! Huge menu and the prices & portions were great. Our server, Lindsey, really made our experience stand out. Everyone very busy, yet she never skipped a beat. Very personable and attentive. We will DEFINITELY be back to see her! One of the best diners I’ve tried in Charlotte. I can see why they’ve been in business for so long!

I was a regular for a few years in the late 90s and have since moved 15 miles away. The food was good and fresh as always. The interior has been updated. If you can't find a breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert here you don't want to eat; you must be Gordon Ramsey or the other guy who has never sampled food on TV that anyone else has cooked besides himself that he likes. Service, food, atmosphere and value all 4 stars.

Went for an anniversary dinner, left with a full belly and a great dinner experience. Our server was attentive. Even the chef asked us how are food was! Fantastic. Pork Shank was one of the best dishes I've had in Charlotte. Try it today, not tomorrow !!

I am beyond impressed with the food here. This is the first restaurant we visited, where every dish was 10/10. The taste was delicious. The restaurant itself was spotless and cozy. You can make it a romantic or family dinner. The staff was very friendly and tentative. We will definitely be back. Keep up the great work.

Lived this place! Loved the ambiance as well. Our server was amazing! I went for dessert but ended up ordering an appetizer plus dessert. I ordered the Charred Octopus with smashed potatoes. I did like it. However, it lacked seasoning. I added salt 🧂 but it needed more than salt. It needed flavor. I ordered the donut 🍩 and the cheese 🧀 cake 🎂, cheesecake. They were both amazing!! The cheesecake was raspberry flavored and nice and creamy. The donut 🍩 was very fresh. I loved the custard and toffee crumbles on top. Overall, it was a great experience 👍🏾! I will get back!!
Sophia A — Google review
We picked the restaurant based on Google reviews and when the Uber dropped us off at the Marriott we were concerned about it being a hotel restaurant. But our concerns were unfounded! Stoke was amazing! We had the deviled eggs, drunken shrimp (keep the sauce when you're done with the shrimp - it's delicious!), cheese and ham, and then had pear salads as our entrees. It was wonderful. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We were full, but not overstuffed and very satisfied. And our server was perfect! Helpful and attentive. We could have hung out with her all evening. Our only disappointment was that we weren't in town longer to come back and try some of the amazing looking dishes like the pork shank.

Lunch at Stoke was a pleasant surprise. The wood-fired flatbreads and house-made ricotta were the standouts—fresh, creative, and packed with flavor. The restaurant has a warm, modern aesthetic with an open kitchen so you can see the chefs in action. Staff were friendly and quick to offer recommendations. Bathrooms were sparkling clean. It’s a great place to escape the office crowd and enjoy an elevated but approachable meal.
Clarita T — Google review
I had a great experience here, with the food and the wait staff. Unfortunately they were out of the pasta, so I went for the steak instead. Steak was very good, they cooked medium rare perfectly, and the sauce had a nice acidity to it. The sticky pork shank was very flavorful with a sweet sauce. Mac and cheese tasted very creamy and cheesy. The burrata had a lot of nice flavors to combine for an appetizer and the donut was really good and fluffy, but very filling! Drinks were very good as well. I would definitely come back here and recommend it.

Guests can also enjoy a variety of local craft beers, wines, and cocktails. The restaurant aims to provide a relaxing gathering place for friends, family, and colleagues.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable experience at Angeline’s! My wife and I recently celebrated a special moment as newlyweds, and Angeline’s made it feel truly memorable, especially thanks to our incredible server, Tracy! From the moment we sat down, Tracy was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind. She anticipated our needs without us even having to ask, checked on us at the perfect times, and carried a sense of joy that made us feel welcomed and celebrated. Her attention to detail and thoughtful care added a personal touch to the night that made it feel like more than just dinner. It felt like a moment. Not only was Tracy amazing, but the host and manager were also incredibly accommodating, ensuring everything flowed smoothly. Even when adjustments were needed with our meal, the team handled it with such professionalism and grace that it made the entire experience even more impressive. What makes a dining experience go from good to great is genuine hospitality, the kind that makes you feel seen, valued, and cared for. Tracy delivered just that. Her generosity, positive energy, and dedication to excellent service were unforgettable. We’re grateful for her and the entire team at Angeline’s.

Locals recommended this place as one of the best in town. We couldn’t get a dinner reservation since everything was booked, so we went for breakfast instead. Our waiter was very professional and friendly. The food presentation was outstanding—better than in any other restaurant we visited in the city—but the quality of the ingredients was below average. The restaurant was packed with guests, which made it a bit noisy. The interior design was beautiful. Overall, it was our best experience in Charlotte, though still not comparable to NYC.

This is a restaurant where we truly felt welcome and appreciated as patrons. We had a party of four (including a toddler) and Alex -our server was extremely attentive from start to finish. We tried a couple of appetizers (whipped ricotta and meatballs) and had their pastas and salmon for main. Grateful for the pizza option for our toddler, was so tasty... Also great ambiance, great cocktails- it was a Saturday and the place was packed but not extremely loud. Overall a very good experience and looking forward to repeating it.

Several locals recommended Angeline‘s. I came here on my second day of a two day visit to Charlotte and left wishing that I had had dinner here twice. I wasn’t super hungry so I got the fig bruschetta and the pork belly small plates. They were absolutely spectacular. The combination of complementary flavors was over the top and just the right amount. The bartender brought me two complementary chai truffles that were the perfect ending to a great dinner at the bar. If you’re ever in downtown Charlotte, I highly recommend a visit to Angeline‘s. You will not be disappointed.

What a gorgeous restaurant. We chose to eat outside (I don’t like air conditioning) and the patio was SO CUTE. Got to sit amongst some gorgeous plants in a sunken patio. What could be better. We had the Whipped Ricotta as an appetizer and I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. It was delicious. I had the Chicken Sugo for dinner and my husband had the Gnocchi. Both plates were bursting with flavor and tasted unlike anything I’ve experienced in Charlotte. Our server (her name escapes me, cute blonde, super bubbly) was excellent. It’s rare to have good food service these days and she was just a breath of fresh air. We will definitely be returning.

Le Peep was simply delicious and a first (and definitely a second) for us! We were about to go to Viscous Biscuit but after I saw all the rules of the restaurant when I walked in, it was a "no" from me. Standing in line w a tray isn't really my thing, I've already been to boot camp at Ft. Knox, So where are we going to go? Le Peep popped up on my maps and seeing the high reviews and likes we decided to go for it. So glad we did! I got the Seafood Benedict w Norwegian Salmon, Spinach, Cream Cheese, on a toasted English Muffin, topped with creamy hot Hollandaise sauce, and served w pleasant potatoes! My beautiful Sam got The 18 Wheeler; one slice of French Toast, two slices of crispy bacon, two eggs, and pleasant potatoes! The owner even stopped by to make sure everything was perfect, and it was! Thank you Le Peep! We will definitely be back!!!

I love this place and really enjoy to be here. It is always tasty, breakfast is delicious and servants try to do their best to make your morning relaxed and pleasant. But what I really don’t like and can’t give 5 starts - are tables and dishes. Tables are always stinky and I need to sanitize it each time and dishes (mugs and plates) have cracks and scratches and it looks disgusting. I think to change broken plates is not a big deal for the restaurant 👍 This small island outside looks like a paradise- I would like to add some fans during summer time and more plants.

A pretty straightforward breakfast/brunch spot! Classic menu items although I got a delicious French toast the first time I checked this place out! Atmosphere is relatively casual but a nice seated spot for after church or just a quick bite. No complaints about the service or atmosphere either!

Smell the roses 🌹 and the croquetas! We had an excellent lunch experience in this great restaurant! The tapas and the meat and sea food paella were great! The olive oil cake it was awesome! Recommended!!! We met the chef Ricardo Miranda and the manager outstanding service! Definitely it’s a place to visit again!

We had an amazing experience at this wine bar! Abby and Taylor were absolutely perfect—warm, attentive, and made us feel taken care of the entire evening. The bread was freshly made and delicious. We ordered the Parrillada Barcelona plate, a bottle of wine, and a few small tapas, and everything was spot on. Great food, great wine, and truly outstanding service. Highly recommend!

The food was outstanding. I had the stuffed dates (6/10), swordfish(9/10), chicken thigh (10/10), carrots (10/10). I felt like the dates were slightly out of balance, just a bit too sweet overall. The fish and chicken and carrots were all just fabulous. Every sauce was so delicious. I highly recommend this place depending on what you are looking for. The atmosphere is different depending on where you sit, because the inside feels totally different than the outside. Inside the restaurant is very very loud with industrial loft type furniture. I felt like the noise level was really high due to the concrete floors and abundant metal throughout the design and the music level. The outside had about 8 to 10 tables with lots of umbrellas up for shade. After sunset they light candles, so the ambience was really nice. The outside patio was also much quieter. They had 80s music playing low/mid level. I was originally sitting at a table right by the exit door, but it was really stifling. The waiter noticed me fanning myself and suggested that I move over by the fan. That helped immensely. That corner just must be in a dead air area. If I recommend anything to the restaurant it would be to add more fans out there. With the Charlotte Humidity seems fans are an absolute must when sitting outside in July.

Loud thumping music but the food and atmosphere makes up for it. Featuring tapas style food and some bigger options for sharing like their meat board. Service was a little slow but we went on a Friday during peak hour so there’s that. The pan con tomate was really delicious, as was the croquetas.

Food and atmosphere are amazing here, great spot for a date night or special occasion. Prices are somewhat high but worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Service is usually pretty great, but can be a bit busy sometimes slowing things down a bit.

Great tapas spot. Lots of options and great atmosphere. Patatas bravas are some of the best I’ve had in the US. Croquettes were great too. Didn’t get any wine but seem to have a wide selection of Spanish wines including select flights. Wish they gave you complimentary bread for the leftover butter/oil from the gambas.

My friends and I came here for tapas and sangria for my bachelorette weekend. We had the best time!! Our waitress, Abbie, was so helpful and made sure we got the best bang for our buck. She bought us some drinks to celebrate, and had great recommendations throughout the night. The staff was amazing and the manager also bought us drinks and delivered them in a fun, creative way. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be returning soon!

Famous Toastery is a beloved local franchise that has become synonymous with delightful breakfast, brunch, and lunch experiences in the Charlotte area. Known for its inviting atmosphere, this eatery offers both classic and innovative American dishes that cater to all tastes. Guests can indulge in an array of delicious flapjacks featuring unique flavors like Raspberry Walnut, Coconut, Banana Nut, and Apple Cinnamon.
Please note that the entrance for this location has moved. It’s no longer on Tryon st and it’s on the MLK street side. We spent a lot of time looking around for the entrance only to luckily find it on MLk. I’m glad we didn’t go somewhere else because the food was amazing. I really enjoyed the Toastery Bowl w sausage gravy.

Good place to start your morning. Reasonably healthy breakfast options. Try out their freshly squeezed orange juice. There are many options for wraps , sandwiches, and eggs. The food is not greasy and feels wholesome. The service is slow and the place is a little old.

We went to this place to go eat before heading back and overall it was good. The food was a solid 8/10 and service was 9/10 the staff was great(shout out to our servers and chef)! They did mess up our order but totally okay just messed up a side, they even remade my waffle. Definitely try out the orange juice very good! The prices are very reasonable and affordable! I really liked this place especially since it wasn’t too far from our hotel!

Fun place, good drinks, food was mediocre. Was excited that they have real maple syrup. But the eggs were way over cooked. Our server, Terrence was great. However when our food came out, he was busy with a couple of new tables so not worth waiting to get new eggs. Definitely not a place to go if you are in a hurry.

Came here on a Monday morning for breakfast. 5 of us. We waited 15 minutes to get a seat. When we finally got our seats, we already knew our orders from waiting so long. Drink orders went in and asked if we could put our food order also. After putting the whole order in, food came out first in about 5 minutes. My omelette was tasty and good, but my breakfast potatoes were really cold and under cooked. Drinks never came until we were finished with food! Then complained and still took a while. We will not be back. Plenty of other places

I’ve come here a couple times before & never really had a bad experience except for this time around. We walked In With 4 people they had us on a 20 minute wait which was fine, once we got sat we waited for around 12 minutes before a server even approached our table and once he did we ordered our drinks which all came out at scattered times. One of us didn’t get their drink till after the food hit the table. I got eggs Benedict which one came out as a semi fried egg…… & the potatoes were barely warm. Another got a tuna melt & it came out stone cold. We didn’t have enough table touches to see if we needed anything or if it came out okay. I work in the service industry and this was just a pretty poor experience. I’m not sure if sitting upstairs is what affected the service & food/ drink running problems.

Cast Iron Waffles, a café resembling a coffee shop, perfectly captures the essence of what people desire for breakfast on a regular workday: speedy service, affordable prices, delectable food options, and an added bonus of serving coffee. The ultimate choice when it comes to delightful morning meals includes the irresistible combination of berries and cream. Slowberry stands out as an excellent selection to commence one's Cheap Eats Charlotte journey.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely worth the stop! We tried Cast Iron Waffles for the first time and it did not disappoint! The peanut butter cup waffle was rich, sweet, and perfectly indulgent — loaded with chocolate chips, peanut butter drizzle, and topped with whipped cream. The apple pie waffle was a warm, cozy dream with cinnamon, apples, and powdered sugar. To drink, we had the Zombie Guts Refresher, which was tangy, fruity, and super refreshing, and the Spiced Butter Sugar Latte, which tasted like fall in a cup — sweet, buttery, and just the right amount of spice. Everything came out fresh, and the café itself had a really inviting, laid-back vibe. If you’re in Charlotte and want something unique, comforting, and delicious, this place is a must-visit.

Love the location and the diversity of the staff and patrons! I’m not sure this place is wheelchair friendly it’s rather small and in a residential area so it has limited parking surrounding the block it’s on. We did not love the waffles. We were under the impression that they were made fresh. They were heated up and pile with toppings, but the waffle itself is extremely dense and a bit cold. They run about $7.25 apiece. I would definitely suggest starting with one to share to see if you like it before diving headfirst into the different options.

We had such high hopes for this adorable little corner spot! The concept is wonderful and both the exterior, and interior, were warm and inviting on a spring day filled with bird song. We love supporting small businesses and the great reviews pulled us in on a late Thursday morning. Unfortunately, the waffles, coffee, and service all fell well short of our expectations. While not busy, the two people working seemed overwhelmed. Our waffles came out 10 minutes apart from each other. They were cold and hard, pulled from a plastic case where they are stored. We had difficulty trying to cut into them with provided utensils. Bland and flavorless. Coffee from the urn was lukewarm. Wife’s specialty coffee arrived after we were done eating. Unfortunately, we did not eat most of the waffle(s) and the coffee was tossed. I think it’d be a wonderful spot had the waffles been made fresh, coffee served hot, and orders arrived together as is the standard in any eatery. Perhaps we’ll give it another go in the future.

I was really looking forward to trying Cast Iron Waffles, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. We ordered the Blueberry Lemon waffle and the Lumberjack, and both left a lot to be desired. The waffles themselves were crazy sweet to the point that it overpowered any other flavor. On top of that, the ingredients tasted noticeably artificial, which was disappointing. The Lumberjack waffle came with cold, flavorless bacon, and both waffles were cold when they arrived at the table. The service was great though.

Amazing waffles!! Best batter I have ever tasted. I have an extreme sweet tooth so this was the perfect brunch for me. Quiet and cozy atmosphere. Perfect for my children. Not overstimulating. Great prices. We all had drinks and waffles for under $50 and there were 5 of us. I would come back again.

From the moment we pulled up, we knew this place was going to be special. The outside is super cute, and as soon as we stepped in, we were hit with the amazing smell of fresh waffles and coffee. You can actually see the dough being made right from the register, which adds such a nice homemade touch. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting with soft music playing in the background. There was even a corner with kids’ books to keep little ones entertained, such a thoughtful detail! We ordered two waffles (blueberry lemon and a berry-topped one) and iced coffees, and everything was absolutely delicious. There were so many waffle options, it was hard to choose! Our order was ready super fast and brought right to our table. This place is a hidden gem in Charlotte. Can’t wait to come back!

Cute little waffle and coffee shop in the area. The food was super cute as well. A bit too sweet for my liking but the waffles were so so good. You definitely need a knife to cute through them because they are thick! Make sure to ask for syrup if you wanna add it to your plate. Didn’t get to try the coffee but it smelled amazing. Parking on the side street appeared to be fine but there was no actual indicators about where to park.

Fine & Fettle is a versatile establishment that serves as a coffee house during the day and transforms into a gastrolounge at night. Located in SouthPark, this restaurant offers locally-sourced Southern dishes in a cozy and intentionally designed setting. The venue's bar area features an impressive cocktail selection and attentive service, making it an ideal spot for both energizing brunches and relaxing evening drinks.
Cute breakfast spot in the Canopy by Hilton. Very contemporary. Had some coffee and a scone. The restaurant provides sitdown service as well as a grab and go bar. It’s very well lit, making it very easy to do a little work. They also offered dinner. Positive experience. They are not open for lunch.

After an amazing day at the spa, we decide why not check out Fine and Fettle. First and foremost, let me say although they may have been understaffed, the staff that was present was amazing. Once we were seated, our waitress immediately greeting us at the table and ask for drink order. Since we arrived just in time for brunch, we asked for recommendations. She recommended both the Chicken and Waffles, the French Toast, which we decided to order. For our drinks we decided on coffee and a glass of Prosecco. I must say, the drink glassware is stunning. Our food was cooked to perfection! The chicken was juicy and seasoned very well; it had a little heat but not enough to overpower the dish. The French Toast was also delicious! The berry compote and homemade whip cream was a nice touch.
Zekeyahi S — Google review
Understaffed like most places and honestly I expect that everywhere these days however the waitress said I had to sit at the bar "cause I'm only one here, have too many people before you, and you are only one person". Ate at the bar where I constantly had to ask for water refilled to a tiny cup, out of burgers so ask for a grilled chicken breast (not on menu) they "forgot" to make so it took 30 minutes to finally get the most driest, cold!, horrible chicken I've ever had. 2 stars over 1 for the bartender who at least recognized the time it took and removed from my bill.

A Charlotte hidden gem. Once others experience how great dinner is, it will likely become a hot spot The drinks are excellent. The craft that goes into the cocktails you can see smell and taste. The food is made from scratch and delicious. Wife had the scallops and raves about them. I had the rigatoni and it was the best pasta I’ve had in Charlotte The pizzas are cooked so well they have that nice crunch on the bottom with fresh ingredients on top Great restaurant! All covid protocols are in place and they have outdoor heated seating too.

We were staying at the hotel for one night where Nine & Fettle is located and decided on a nightcap in the bar. It's a nicely designed boutique-y space that matches the overall flare of the hotel. We were just looking for drinks and their cocktails looked pretty fabulous. Watching the bartender actually make them to was a pretty fun production, especially when he got into double-handed shaking mode. The drinks we got were okay. We selected the Pirate Jenny IV and the Down But Nut Out cocktails. Both were beautiful to look at, but not sweet at all and a little hard to drink. I'm not a fan of an overly sweet cocktail but both of these lacked any kind of sweet element to balance out the other flavors and make them go down a little more easily. There are also many other cocktails we could have chosen so it's possible others have a little bit more balanced flavor profile. Kudos also to them for having a "mocktails" section so anyone who doesn't drink can feel included in the fun. Although we didn't eat anything I loved that their food menu not only had plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten-free diners and those items are prominently labeled as such. (This was just the bar menu too...there are more such options don't the main dinner menu.) Not sure if this place is a destination on its own, but you'll do well if you're staying at the hotel to stop in for a meal, snack or drink.
Rick L — Google review
Fine and Fettle was not exactly what I was expecting from the pictures. Of all the brunch location based off location alone; I would say possibly look at other options. Outside of it being a bit far from downtown Charlotte; this resturant is 100% attached to a hotel (what seems like a lobby). This was not really displayed in the pictures. Don't get me wrong some of the best resturants are attached to the rooftops of hotels but the quality and cost of food surely gave hotel cafeteria "vibes". Personally, the food wasn't all that great. The cost was high teens and low 20s. Some of their speciality drinks weren't good and staff was a bit hard to find at times. The staff we did interact with were sweet and did their job but it doesn't make up for the food at all. However, there is free 2 hour valet parking and the outside seating/near the window area was a nice view and space to enjoy the weather. I won't return but I hope that you find joy in your visit here at Fine and Fettle.

So this is going to be a COVID grading scale. We ate breakfast here for two days. The service needs some serious improvements for sure. There were not that many tables, but they had two waitresses, and most of the time they were hard to get service out of. The food is different, more yuppy type of breakfast. On the first day, we ordered our food, which was good, but it does take forever. When we ordered, I ordered OJ and my son took two sips of it and stated he did not want it anymore because it tasted bad. Again, not the end of the world. On day two, we ordered our food, the pancakes were definitely not as fresh and yummy as the first day. Was it bad, nah not at all. Was the concept nice, sure was. Do you want to eat here if you are in a rush, not in the least. Would I eat here again, maybe if it was part of my package. What I can say is that if this was not COVID times, the score would be different for sure.

Nestled next to the iconic Bank of America Stadium, Community Matters Cafe is a unique non-profit dining experience that goes beyond just serving delicious meals. This charming eatery, set in a spacious warehouse-style environment, offers an inviting menu filled with breakfast favorites, sandwiches, and fresh salads made from farm-to-table ingredients. But what truly sets Community Matters apart is its commitment to social impact; it serves as an extension of the Charlotte Rescue Mission.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere at Community Matters Cafe. The environment is beautiful and peaceful, and you can feel the love and compassion throughout the space. What truly made our experience exceptional was how the staff handled my son’s food allergy. The chef personally came to our table to speak with us and ensure his meal was safe—something that meant the world to us as parents. The level of care and attentiveness was above and beyond. The food was absolutely top-notch—fresh, flavorful, and made with heart. Their mission and what they stand for is inspiring, and it shines through in everything they do. We left with full bellies, big smiles, and some coffee to go! We can’t wait to come back and support this amazing place again.

Soon as I walked in I was greeted and seated 🪑, nice environment I mean the scenery was relaxed and welcoming. Now, the food was a little bland, I ordered the “Cajun Sausage Skillet” and was highly disappointed 😔, that dish should be changed to “ Home Fry Skillet”. It was literally around 5 thinly sliced sausage and the rest of the skillet was filled with home fries. It looked a little suspicious 🤨 with the egg covering the skillet as if trying to hide the fact they ran out of sausage or something I’m not sure 🤷🏾‍♂️. My advice, take the egg off and make sure you get sausage if you decide to get this dish. A little over priced for such simple meals.

While in the Charlotte area, I looked up places to eat breakfast and I came across this restaurant since it had pretty good reviews. When first coming in honestly I didn't feel welcomed from the young lady at the desk. She just asked where would I like to sit at. She didn't specify or tell me that one side is like self serve and the other side you will have a server/waiter, that would have been nice to know especially since it was my first time but I learned that information from asking another staff member at the coffee side once I realized which side I chose, while waiting to be waited on since I wasn't given a menu or anything. While sitting and watching I did notice how some others that came in were greeted by the same young lady at the door which is why I couldn't give 5 stars. However, to the good part. I'll upload a picture of what I ordered but I can honestly say these were the best cheese grits I ever tasted so far, I could eat it by itself! My food was a 4 1/2 and thats only because the potatoes tasted funny (sorry I can't explain this better) other than that my tea was good, and the rest of my food was good. I just wished the service, feeling more welcomed, just some type of advice/explanation kinda just something for someone that is new to the restaurant which I was sure to mention for that reason when coming in. So, hopefully that is better next time because I have to go back again for those grits. Hopefully, I can edit this review and/or update with a better experience. Food is good Atmosphere good Service needs improvement

The crepes were really tasty and well done. The space was pleasant looking but cold. They had the temperature for the workers there near the cooking area (she told me so) and the rest of the space was really cold, eating at 68° is not pleasant for me. The tables outside are okay. There is no service to speak off, you order and pick up yourself. Good for a quick meal.

Good crepes for a non French restaurant in Charlotte. Staff is always great, they are very accommodating with substitutions. Our family sweet go to is the Nutella with strawberry’s and banana! And for savory they like the pesto chicken. I normally go for the just cheese and opt for the Swiss. Ample seating indoor and outdoor. Whole vegetarian section and gluten free options

Calle Sol Latin Café & Cevicheria is a vibrant restaurant in Charlotte that offers a fusion of Cuban and Peruvian cuisine. The ambiance and decor transport diners to the lively dining scenes of Tampa and Miami, where the iconic Cubano sandwich originates. The menu features must-try dishes like ceviche, vaca frita, Cuban sandwiches, and fried sweet plantains. One standout dish is the shrimp tallerin, stir-fried lo mein noodles with a delightful mix of flavors.
I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this place! First visit and the food was top notch while the service was outstanding. Kim immediately gave us recommendations for a good combination of plates to share and we loved every single bite. The Cuban fried rice was my absolute favorite with plenty to share and eat the next day. We had a cocktail from the May features and I’m just sad it won’t be there next month. The Cuatro Smash needs a permanent spot on the menu.

These folks are a good lot. I enjoyed my unplanned visit after a float spa appointment. Perfect stop for lunch IMO. The whole staff were friendly and humorous as an unaffiliated ad was shot there and the people didn't even spend $$ with the establishment. Just adios and thanks. The Ceviche was excellent. I got the Rocoto with shrimp and fish. YES! Loved it. Primary reason for the stop and I savored every bite. After good conversation with some other locals and a tasty margarita, I know I'll be back to further sample the menu.

The Cuban fried rice is probably one of the BEST fried rice meals I've ever had. In my whole life. My husband got 2 half sandwiches and they were both great. If we lived closer we would be here allllllll the timmmmeeeee. We already can't wait to get back to this side of Charlotte and try something new. The whole atmosphere and staff were amazing and so welcoming. Our younger male waiter was great and had a lot of great recommendations. There was a female (maybe manager) that came and asked us how everything was - and then we saw her eating lunch - which is a great sign when a manager eats the food! She was super nice and had recommened a few dishes to try next time as well.

Finally after couple of tries, got to visit this place on a summer Sunday and it was worth it. The mixed ceviche(shrimp & white fish) was one of the best in Charlotte. Equally good were the Shrimp Chaufa(Peruvian fried rice) & Tallerin(Noodles). All the ingredients were fresh and you can taste the distinct flavors. Will definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. It’s a small place with limited parking space. So plan accordingly. Service is good.

What a hidden gem! We are from Tampa, FL and spend our summers in the Carolina’s. We miss our Spanish foods and Calle Sol did not disappoint. Our server, Mattie was great! Everything was delicious from our appetizer to our decant Tres leche/banana pudding desert. So enjoyed our visit and will return when we are in the area.

Everything was amazing Group of 6 had drinks, appetizers and entrees. Serving size was great . Majority of us didn't finish all our food. Our server Kimberly was amazing and attentive, 1st time here for some 2 of us. Won't be the last time we visit this spot

We really enjoyed lunch at Calle Sol. The food came out quickly and our server was great. This rating is a 4.5/5 but not quite a 5. Will definitely go back as the service was solid along with portion size and price. Cuban Fried Rice: 4/5 - very good, super rich Tallerin w/ Chicken: 4.5/5 - really good Plantains: 3/5 - they were so-so, nothing special Key Lime Pie: 4.5/5 - excellent

Milkbread is a popular dining spot in historic downtown Davidson, offering a unique blend of Italian and New South cuisine. The restaurant gained fame for its delectable pull-apart milk bread, which is also used for their house burger buns. During the pandemic, the team pivoted to selling milk bread donuts, chicken sandwiches, and natural wines as a way to provide comfort through food to the community.
I love sitting outside at this cute take-out spot! The chocolate pistachio latte was so good! They also have the best sweet treats-the cupcake and especially the frosting on the cinnamon rolls are my favorite!

I’ve been eager to try Milkbread since opening, the timing coordinated today. The associates were friendly and kind. I’m a bit disappointed in the food. The chicken biscuit was inferior to others, especially at the price point ($9). The biscuit was dry, hard, fell apart with first bite. The chicken was tasty and cooked properly. The cinnamon roll was reheated longer than it should, making it chewy and tough. Great taste and satisfying in that regard. Quite honestly, at the $6, I thought it might be a tad larger, thicker. I’m comparing this purchase to other choices nearby….. it will be a tough call on a decision to return.

MOLDY ROTTEN FOOD! I have had a few concerning experiences at MILKBREAD. Most recently, I had discovered the ham croissant I purchased from MILKBREAD was covered with MOLD which was confirmed by the restaurant after I contacted them! This isn't the first time I've encountered food quality issues at MILKBREAD…previously, I found a hair embedded in glaze of donut and french fry pieces mixed in a rotten fruit dish. The photos speak for themselves, this place is low quality with poor sanitation and poor health practices. I've previously brought these concerns to the attention of management and the owner each time. AND I gave them several chances to make it up. Not only did I have many food quality issues with MILKBREAD, it is common for staff to frequently forget items that you have paid for in your order. The moldy ham pastry is especially troubling, as it suggests the meat may have been left out for an extended period. As a result of this incident, I experienced severe illness and had to miss work and time with my family. After these repeated experiences, I cannot recommend MILKBREAD or any establishment under the same ownership, as they constantly give excuses after excuses with no change. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions about where to dine. I encourage potential customers to research local health inspection reports and online Yelp & Google reviews before visiting MILKBREAD. Spend your money somewhere else there’s so many other options with food that won’t make you sick!

Just had an incredible meal at Milkbread at Plaza Midwood and I have to say, it was absolutely delicious! It’s a walk-up order spot with no indoor seating, but honestly, the food more than makes up for it. I tried the Heirloom Tomato BLT and it was phenomenal—from the perfectly crisp verdant bread to the lightly salted heirloom tomatoes and those thick slices of bacon, every bite was mouthwatering. We also went for the OG sandwich with the buttermilk-brined fried chicken, and it was fried to absolute perfection. And those grandfathers pickles? Seriously amazing and so full of flavor, unlike anything I’ve had before. Overall, I’d rate it a solid 10/10 and would highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance!

Bring a fork to eat your “biscuit sandwich”. Pic is of me picking it up out of the container. Felt as though I should show it to the lady in the pickup window asking for nothing. Between the gross attitude and her disgusting cow bar sticking through her nostrils over food she is handing out I definitely will not be going back. She made me lose my appetite faster than the biscuit crumble.

Cute building, but too many cars/on too busy of a street for me. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and it took a while to get (it wasn’t busy) It was small, but warm and tasty, if not aesthetic. They do a brisk pick up/take out business.

First time patron. Won't be the last. Super cool patio dining. I had the spicy chicken and it was great. Definitely not so spicy that it wasn't fun to eat. Great flavor and texture. Will continue to return and explore the rest of the menu.

Restaurant
Urban District Market is a trendy and affordable food hall located at 2315 N Davidson St. It offers a classy yet budget-friendly dining experience, perfect for professionals with discerning tastes. The establishment features an appealing setup with various amenities such as open seating, a bar area, grab-and-go grocery, restrooms, and water bottle refilling stations. There's also an outdoor seating area connected to the Seoul Food Co. restaurant and plenty of bike racks for cyclists.
Love the variety there is something for the whole family. Even if you want to just go for date night with you hubby it will be a fun experience. I did the sneakeasy and it was so fun. I give it a 10/10 highly recommend.

Food market with a variety of different food options. They have plenty of parking spaces available and seating out and inside. I went with my daughter, grabbed a coffee and we had a good time in the play area. The changing rooms and nursing rooms are amazing and well done. Changing stations and rocker for mamas are available. The play area was ok. There is a lot going on .. broken items, bunch of random stuff. I would focus more on 2-4 items that are well maintained instead of a bunch of broken toys. Overall a good food market with some options for kids as well as a kids food menu and high chairs.
Vanessa — Google review
An overall decent food hall/market with more misses than hits. Expect to pay slightly above average prices for meals ranging from stellar to absurdly bad. Pros The bistec sandwich from El Dorado is my go-to entree - I 100% recommend giving this a try, it's the meal that keeps bringing me back here! The bread is light and crispy, and the sauce perfectly brings the whole thing together. I usually eat half the sandwich there and take the other half home as leftovers (and yes, they travel and reheat perfectly fine!), so for the portion size I think it's very fairly priced. For desserts, I'd recommend either the bungeo-ppang (fish-shaped pastries filled with a sweet red bean paste) from Stuffed for 1-2 people or the bingsoo from &coffee (currently located at the front with the bar Labaratory) for 2-3 people. The mini market in the back is also a nice touch, with a solid variety of drink and snack options. Cons I got the beef katsu sando and Korean corndog from Crispy Patty. The corndog was fine, but if you've had Korean corndogs before, these were nothing to write home about. The katsu sauce was way too salty though and ruined the entire sandwich for me, and unfortunately you can't modify the katsu sandos to do no sauce/sauce on the side (even though it is an option for the katsu burgers) - definitely a missed opportunity there. I got the sunny burger with fries and jalapeno poppers from Cluck & Moo. The jalapeno poppers were good (can't really go wrong there), but the burger and fries were utterly bland. Both were in dire need of additional seasonings and/or sauces. Halfway through the meal it felt like I was force-feeding myself a block of unseasoned meat - never a great way to think about a burger. Overall it felt like I was paying restaurant prices for mediocre cafeteria food.

I casually stop by today and experienced an amazing ambience with lovely music and extraordinary decorations. There is plenty of options to choose food wise and fun for kids and family

Urban District Market is definitely a unique concept. It has a nice outdoor space set up that connects to the Korean restaurant next door. Inside resides an Asian food court, a play area, and Asian market. It is clean and open. It is a little pricey for what it is. Since the concept is cute I would go back to try other foods and even the restaurant next door. I think I like it more for the environment than the actual food itself but the food is fine from what I tried.
Michele K — Google review
TL;DR - The food here is not worth the high price of admission. I've been coming every so often to Urban District Market since they first opened. Since the first visit, the food has been below average with above average prices. I initially chalked this up to them being new and still finding their footing. On this most recent visit, it was clear the below average food was a feature and not a bug. This most recent food stall rotation introduced a teriyaki rice hamburger, a staple of my childhood. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Suffice it to say the difference between the promo picture and the actual dish was staggering. It is supposed to be a hamburger you eat with your hands; I had to use chopsticks instead because the entire burger fell apart at the slightest touch. The rice was undercooked, shredded lettuce instead of leaf lettuce, and way too much rice for a burger bun. The pork was its only redeeming ingredient and the only one of which I finished. I describe my dismay at this one food item as a symptom of the larger disregard UDM has for its food products. Not all the food here is as bad as I've described, but the best food here is merely decent at best. The owners of UDM have years of experience from Seoul Food so there's no excuse for offering subpar food on the regular. UDM, please do better. I'll come back and try UDM again if you improve.

This place has really gone downhill in the past year. It used to be a place to get authentic, fresh, and delicious Asian fusion food but now the quality of the food is atrocious. My Korean corn dog had a small piece of hot dog in it and it all fell apart as soon as I bit into it. Also, the California rolls are 95% thick cucumber slices and you can barely taste the crab. Not worth the money.

Cafe
Family-operated cafe Cafe South is conveniently situated just off the I77 in Charlotte, serving breakfast food that's straightforward but delicious. Specializing in ham and eggs, pancakes and everything in between, you'll find hearty options to fuel your appetite starting at just $4.99 per dish.
Our waitress was great. She did a great job of making suggestions and also brought me a sample of the chicken salad, which was really good. People make it so different so I always like to try it if I can before I order it. However, I decided to try the fried chicken with fried okra and fried squash. The chicken was great. The okra and squash were really good as well. I'm used to thin fried squash with not much breading. This was much thicker with more breading than I'm used to but was still good and not greasy which I was worried about when she brought it out. You get a choice of biscuit or cornbread and I went with the cornbread. It was a good choice. Good flavor and very moist. I would recommend both the fried chicken and chicken salad. They also had some good looking desert slices but I was too full to try them. Go check them out. The food was great and everyone was so nice and friendly.

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after running errands because we were hungry. Had no expectation since it was our first time here. Parking, there was tons of parking, so parking is not an issue. It was busy when we went, so there was a wait list, we waited about 15 mins before we were seated. Food was good, service was good, waiter knew the menu and made some good recommendation. Menu has tons and tons of options, which can be overwhelming. There was brunch and lunch. We will be back!

Cute little country type cafe/ restaurant. The food was average with no added flair. I was hoping for an amazing pancake but it was a little too hard for me. The server was great though. It was very close to the hotel where we stayed. Convenient location.

First time eating at Cafe South for breakfast. The restaurant has a huge seating area so you can sit with friends or family to enjoy some good fresh cooked meals. There are also seats by a counter to which you can order food and watch it being cooked, right in front of you. I had the country breakfast. I had two over easy eggs, livermush with one biscuit and gravy. The livermush was cooked perfectly, and there was plenty of gravy on the biscuit. Everything was absolutely 💯 delicious 😋!

Everybody seems very friendly and accommodating and the food was quite good. I had something called liver mush which I have never had in my life and it was quite a tasty little treat. Then after breakfast I had a caramel apple pie that was warmed up with ice cream and that was even better.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. It has that small diner feel. I ordered the junior club sandwich on wheat bread. It was basic so I don’t want to judge the restaurant based on just one sandwich. $13 seems a little too much for a basic sandwich. Maybe I will go back one day and order a full meal and see what it’s like.

This place doesn’t take reservations and requires everyone in your party before they sit you down. We were seated within 20 minutes of everyone in our party of 9 showed up. Visited over the weekend and This place gets busy real quick. Our server Oscar was friendly and patient. Food was very delicious and their mimosa was real strong which is a plus point. Overall service and food was great. Will plan on coming back soon. Overall 4/5 ⭐️

The place has an excellent atmosphere for eating out together.

The brick-walled space with outdoor tables provides a cozy and romantic ambiance that appeals to couples. Named after the Friends sitcom, this coffeehouse and roastery exudes personality with its exposed brick walls, eclectic artwork, and unconventional table setups.
Smelly cat I love you! 🫵 Ambiance was perfect. Sunday morning and 2000s hits playing. I had the sausage egg and cheese biscuit with the toasted coconut latte. They were both solid, very impressed with the latte flavor. The biscuit itself was a perfect buttermilk biscuit. The aura of the staff was so off the charts I just sat in blissful smiles. Thank you :) The parking lot was a little bit of a Tetris puzzle but it could also just be user error.

We were looking for a new coffee and breakfast place in CLT so we decided to give Smelly Cat Coffee House & Roastery a try. It was a great choice! We arrived and tried to place our order via the website but it was not cooperating. So we had to go to the register to place our order. The gentleman helping us was awesome and got us taken care of. We went with a Vanilla Brown Sugar Spice Latte, Breakfast Bowl and Sausage Egg & Cheese Burrito. Everything was great and we would definitely come again!
Brandon S — Google review
Smelly Cat Coffee in NoDa, Charlotte was a decent experience overall. The place bills itself as a café with your regular coffee menu, some food items and desserts. We visited on a Sunday morning and it wasn’t busy. For coffee, we got a dirty chai with toasted coconut syrup and an iced latte. The dirty chai was quite flavorful, and it was a great start to our day. The iced latte was bland, and they were kind enough to replace it for us with a chai. For food, we got an egg and cheese burrito, and a quiche. The burrito was quite one-dimensional: some scrambled eggs thrown in a burrito with some cheese without much flavor. The quiche tasted great—the vegan chorizo really came through in the taste. How to order: You walk up to a counter and place the order on a mini-screen. If you’ve any query about the food, you can ring the bell placed there and someone will attend to you. The seating is available both inside and outside. Parking nearby can be challenging but you should be able to find street parking with some effort. The staff tries their best and is kind and polite. The insides of the cafe seem quite hip keeping in spirit of NoDa with pictures of musicians on the walls. They’re open every day from 7am-2pm(true as of September 2025)

The only thing I’m mad about is that, as an avid latte drinker, I have lived near here for 5 years and haven’t walked into this coffee shop until this weekend. Our drinks took a bit of time, it was a busy Saturday morning, but well worth it. There’s plenty of outdoor seating so waiting was relaxing. We got an iced pumpkin spice and an iced brown sugar spice and both were so good and had a great balance of bitterness and sweetness. I love that they do house made syrups - and you can sample them which is so cool. We definitely found a new favorite spot!

Coffee Shop No. 481 Smelly Cat Coffeehouse Charolette, NC March 13, 2025 We were driving through Charolette, NC and Smelly Cat Coffee House popped up on my Google search. With a name like this I couldn’t resist stopping. The cafe has plenty of outdoor seating with a counter out on their patio to order your food if you don’t want to step inside the cafe. The inside of the cafe has more seating. One of the first things to catch my attention was the use of old paint chipped doors to create individual spaces for customers. The baristas were very friendly and helpful. I caught one of them napping in front of the mural on the side of the building. Don’t worry she knows I took a picture of her. My cortado was delicious. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
Coffee C — Google review
It's a very popular place amongst locals. Coffee is great, both cold and hot (surprised by this, typically Carolina folks are not strong in hot espresso drinks). Few things to improve: cleaner instructions for how to order for inside and outside seating, and dedicated space for customers with dogs.

SO friendly and SO good!! This was my first time coming here and I didn’t quite know how the process worked with pick up and ordering but I came with my dog so I sat outside on their patio. Multiple employees came and brought a “pup cup” unprompted, lots of pets, and even brought a water refill for the dog! I felt very welcomed and so did the pup. One employee even brought my coffee out to me when it was ready, rather than having me go up to the window. So kind!

Their signature Cake Jars—tiered cakes nestled in mason jars—are perfect for nationwide delivery and are sure to bring joy to anyone who receives them.
A great pastry shop and all are freshly made. Attentive staff. Ample sandwich menu. They can better serve customers if all pastry selections for seat-in are given in a plate and not bagged! Plenty of seating indoors with local parking. Recommended

The bakery smelled great, so maybe I ordered wrong. I got the bacon egg and cheese on the butter roll because the sign said that the butter roll was a fan favorite. It looked good but I didn't like any of it. The bacon tasted strange and they left the paper on the cheese, the roll was mid. The service was slow but the girl was friendly enough. I was disappointed overall.

Place is super cute!! Like the decorations, music, and the way the pastries are displayed. I got a carrot muffin and a dirty mocha. Muffin is delicious, but the coffee was less mocha than I expected, but still good! The man that took my order wasn’t very nice, as he didn’t even greet me, answer when I said thank you, and just sort of ignored me. They seemed a bit busy, so I can understand a bit. When I got to my table, the seat was covered in crumbs. Not a big deal to me personally, but could be to some people. Overall, food and atmosphere was great! But customer service and cleanliness was debatable, so maybe I’ll try another location!

I strongly dislike places that prompt you to tip but don't bring your food out, clean it up, or check in on you. Just pay your workers fairly dude and don't rely on customers. They throw your stuff on the counter by the window and you don't know when your specific order is ready for pick up (no buzzers or name calling). The food was delicious though and I like the concept of the bodega/brewery/diner mixed elements. There's board games to play and a nice outdoor patio/outdoor seating (both upstairs and downstairs). The loft is neat. Definitely Charlotte-y character.

I've always heard of this place but never actually visited. We had parked right in front of this location, so as we decided to head home, we wanted to stop in and see what the place was all about. It's like a continence store as soon as you walk in, but the further you walk in, they have a bar with seating and then a section selling wines, beers, seltzers, and regular sodas to coffees and anything else you may find at a gas station. Outside of the store, they have an open patio with plenty of seating. A lot of people go and purchase their beverages and then come outside to sit drink and have a good time. It's a quirky cool place, and I'm all for it. Love the ambiance and concept of it. The employees and everyone were super friendly, and there were no issues at all. I will def be visiting again.

Not Just Coffee is a modern establishment that offers top-quality coffee drinks, as well as tea and light snacks such as toasts and yogurt. The Charlotte-based coffee shop places great emphasis on the two key elements of a superb cup of coffee: high-quality ingredients and the expertise of its baristas. Through activities like cuppings and espresso training, the knowledgeable staff ensures that customers receive consistently excellent brews.
Very good vibes and most importantly the coffee was great! I always get a regular hot latte with some simple syrup and they knocked it out of the park!! You have to go into the 7th Street market to find this place. Plenty of space to sit around and have other food.

Their coffee is good, with distinct character. Not bitter, not sour. But also not the straight flat taste you get in most places these days. Their cappuccino is more a Flat white, though, which we love anyway! They are located in 7th market, which gives you the option to sit anywhere, inside and outside.

Update: the barista informed us if they stopped what they were doing to help us they would have burned the caramel they were working on. At this point our shots were sitting poured for 10 minutes, so when we asked them to remake them, they said, “they’re warm, but fine”. I’m not paying for warm coffee. If they explained there would be a wait, I wouldn’t have cared, but they said nothing the entire time. The barista took 10 minutes to acknowledge us, started making our drinks and then turned away and started adding butter to this pot for another 10 minutes. Another couple has been waiting in line as our espresso just sits on the machine getting cold. We’ve now been here for 20 minutes and were the only ones here when we got here….btw we’re still here waiting. we were here last weekend and the barista that worked was great, but this person obviously doesn’t care about our time.

I visit the location in the 7th street market usually on the weekends. I only order the cortado so I can’t comment on the other drinks. I am not a coffee drinker but love a good cortado. The make a decent one and being that it’s an easy 5 minutes walk from condo makes it a no browner. The staff is always so friendly which is a plus. Maybe once I will try something else

Got a Latte and Hot chocolate with oat milk and they were both so good! Very creamy (without milk) and I couldn't be happier. The server was awesome and very accommodating, so happy we came in!
TF S — Google review
Cute place inside the market; however we were here for the coffee. We ordered a cortado and the milk was very nicely prepared; the espresso was underdeveloped from the roaster. While I love a light roast espresso that is roasted well, this was truly SOUR, not bright, sour. They serve coffee from counter culture, not a fan.

Amélie's Uptown is a charming French-inspired bakery and cafe located in Charlotte's Uptown district. The cozy atmosphere and decor transport visitors to Paris, with an imitation of the Love Lock Bridge adding to the ambiance. This fast-casual bakery offers a delectable selection of pastries, light fare, and coffee drinks. With locations across Charlotte and other states, patrons can enjoy treats like salted caramel brownies, turkey sandwiches, and ice cream sandwich macaroons.
We loved this French Bakery while we visited Charlotte. It's is a casual service style restaurant where you order your treats at a counter and then pick up your order at a window, but it has all the comforts of a dine in restaurants; there is no table service. It has a beautiful interior with wonderful artworks and designs all over the restaurant. It gave it such a relaxing atmosphere. We only went for the delicious pastry and tried the quiche. They did not disappoint and the prices were so reasonable. Highly recommend it if you are in Charlotte for a stop as it is convenient to the Charlotte Convention Center and the Uptown area. They serve French style breakfast and sandwiches as well. Maybe when we are back in town we will be able to try the other items on the menu.

Great prices for the two items I got! Staff was very friendly and the wait time was low, which made the experience even better. The inside atmosphere is cozy and welcoming—perfect spot to stop by any time of day, and I love that they open early. Convenient location too. I ordered the almond croissant with a coffee (about $10 total). The coffee had a nice flavor - not bland at all. The almond croissant was a good size with a sweet breading that’s a little different from others I’ve tried - would prefer regular croissant breading. Overall, I’d come back if I was in the area again 😊

We were just passing through Charlotte on a regular Monday morning, looking for a simple breakfast — nothing fancy. But this place turned our Monday into a little weekend getaway! At first, we were drawn in by the beautiful design and cozy atmosphere, but what really surprised us was how delicious the food was — and most of all, the incredible service. Every single person on the team was so attentive, from the folks at the counter to the kitchen staff who made sure everything was just right. You could genuinely feel the care and attention to detail in every part of the experience. We left with big smiles and full hearts. Highly recommend this gem!

We really enjoyed our visit here! Needed a quick bite to eat and coffee, this was in walking distance from our hotel. Staff were so kind and patient with us, helping us understand their products and substitutions that could be made. I hope to go back one day!

Very unique. A perfect balance between baroque and chic atmosphere. Lots of fresh pastries, sandwiches and specialty coffees! Reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Beautiful restaurant with great vibes! We tried the iced lattes, French toast, and egg biscuit sandwich and loved it all. We couldn't leave without trying pastries! They were too pretty to pass up.
Amber C — Google review
Ordering was quick and easy. Nice selection of pastries. Cappuccino and café au lait were good. My wife enjoyed her French toast with berries. My sandwich was OK - the baguette was a bit crumbly and lacking in flavor. The pain au chocolat was very good - light and flaky with quality chocolate.
Bruce J — Google review
We absolutely loved it. My husband and I were in town for the cowboys game and we got up early on Sunday morning and went to Amelie's. We both got the croque monsieur. It was fantastic 🤩. I wish I had gotten coffee instead of a diet Coke. I definitely will next time. Really good! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. My husband loved it.....and the desserts? To numerous to mention here. Just GO!!!! Absolutely wonderful!!!

Original Pancake House - South Park offers a casual setting to enjoy classic American breakfast dishes all day long. Despite arriving close to closing time, the manager graciously accommodated customers and provided excellent service. The menu features a wide variety of comfort breakfast items such as pancakes, crepes, and waffles. Customers particularly enjoyed the banana nut pancakes and waffles with eggs and bacon on the side. The German pancake served with lemon and powdered sugar was also highly recommended.
The food is always good here but my favorite of all time, “The Dutch Baby” never disappoints, big heavenly fluffy custard like pancake goodness with fresh berries, lemon and powder sugar, I’m telling you it doesn’t get any better than that :) nonetheless the star of the whole place/experience is Alma!! She is The best waitress this restaurant has, she is very knowledgeable and you can tell she knows her stuff. Place it’s going under some renovation, but nothing to worry much. Downside it’s the parking situation but oh well, nothing is perfect… All I know is, the best complement to a great dish it’s an awesome service and I got both! Very recommended. Pro tip: Do yourself a favor and ask for Alma!! You are welcome 🙂

I've been eating at 'The OHP' for over 20 years. No matter the location, the food and service is always on point. I have a severe gluten allergy was able to have the GF banana nut pancakes, sub powdered sugar for chocolate chips. Vegetarian omelette with salsa and extra mushrooms 🍄 and a fresh OJ. My only critique is that the tables and Booths could have been wiped off more thoroughly, but it was a Friday morning, so it is understandable that they were busy.

This place is so good and if you're in a budget this is it! I got Sunnyside up with regular pancakes. I'm very picky when it comes down to pancakes, but they did a good job on it. It does gets packed, but I definitely will recommend the wait. We got there at like 2:20pm & we got seated immediately. Definitely going back to tgis place!

This is the worst original house of pancakes experience I have ever had, I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 10 years with my family, and today, we had an issue with receiving burnt pancakes, and the manager Cheyenne told me that there was nothing that can be done and it’s a baked pancakes and that we could not receive our money back with a smirk and an attitude, our waitress apologized and told me that, that’s how she is and that everyone has this issue with her. I will never return back to the location ever again, and I nobody ate their food from being disgusted with her behavior. I hope something can be done about this because we use to love coming here

Fantastic breakfast spot with house-made whipped cream and quality ingredients. Portions were bigger than expected. Everything was perfect and the staff was very polite. Ashley was great. I’d definitely go out of my way a bit next time to visit here again.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a popular American restaurant chain known for its cozy atmosphere and comfort food. Located in the Toddville Road neighborhood, this eatery offers a unique experience with an on-site general store. While some visitors found the store's pricing system frustrating, others appreciated the Southern hospitality of the friendly staff. The menu features classic American dishes like pecan pancakes and fried okra, making it a convenient dining option for those staying at nearby hotels.
OK, this place was freaking awesome. I was kind of skeptical about going into Cracker Barrel. Don’t ask me why like I just thought it might be some old folks non seasoned food probably but this food was seasoned so good and is a beautiful place. I stood in front of the fireplace. It was like awesome. It’s comforting on a cold day . I ordered the steak loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese, I suggest that. My steak was tender. It was like buttery and juicy, all at the same time! Our waitress was very kind and courteous. The restaurant was clean. The restrooms were clean and it was just overall a nice atmosphere. I took some cornbread home with me to eat some good old cornbread and milk. This is a beautiful place. The area might look kind of sketchy, but we had no problems. It was all good. I’m pretty sure you’re gonna enjoy your visit.

The decoration style seems to have a more modern style twist; it's still from an older era, but not too similar to the era in time im used to. The service was slow, despite barley anyone in the restaurant. It took 8 minutes, just for a server to come to the podium to sit us. Once we were sat, it kinda improved. The waiter was attentive, but not so much when it came to refilling the drinks. We sat for half the meal with empty drinks. The food was splendid, though i did notice the corn bread was burnt; we just packed them up for the dogs to eat.
Slasher V — Google review
The service was fine, however, I ordered chicken and dumplings and had fried okra, corn, and Greeks for sides. The okra came on the same bowl as the dumplings. This made my okra soggy. The corn and greens were barely warm. The chicken and dumplings were barely warm around the outer edges but hot in the middle. This led me to believe it had been warmed in a microwave. I tend not to send food back and just ate my meal and moved on.

Very disappointed... The salad was brown and wilty. There was a complete miscommunication on what I wanted to even order but I think the waitress was new and unaware to ask for help. My glass that I was given for my beer was filthy, and no one brought me napkins until I asked.

After a long day I decided to order via Uber Eats tonight and food looked disgusting....Meatloaf was hard and dried out, greenbeans was soaking in a puddle of water with more water than greenbeans along with a 1/2 serving size of turnip greens. My husband pancakes look like a 3 yr old made them and his piece of cured ham was small as a strip of bacon... talk about pissed. I got in my car drive to Queen City Cracker Barrel and was stopped by a female cook and the security officer before I even opened the door. The female cook apologize for how my food looked. I showed her the meatloaf and she instantly denied cooking it. Said she would handle it by remaking my order. I requested to speak with the manager and she insisted she would make things right and give me a second piece of meatloaf for the inconvenience. 2-3 minutes later she returned stating they were out of turnips and alot of other things due to them closing soon (time was approx 8:20pm). She later brought me a 'fresh' order and while it was hot it looked like it had been tampered with... I told the female cook I was not pleased and this would be my last time ever eating from here.... As I was leaving another worker/server said to me "See that's exactly why I don't eat here." Needless to say I won't ever be eating from this location again. They need to bring Mr. Ken back. Every since he left this place been going down.

Very few people were in the restaurant when we were there and there were plenty of wait staff. Our server was a little slow bringing our bill but accurate with our food order and very pleasant. Our food was very good also fresh and hot. I was happy to hear that changes previously talked about will not be happening. Don’t mess with a good thing.

Breakfast is consistent! The quality and service is great! All the waitress’s are ok, but Clarissa is the most attentive waitress there. Regardless of the crowd, she takes pride in serving hot food in a timely matter…never need to ask for refills…she’s constantly moving in her section.. I’ve been to various Cracker Barrel’s…even though this one off Billy Graham Pkwy is further away…I don’t mind the drive. The employees are pleasant.
Sandra C — Google review
The picture says it all...worst plate ever, look at the gravy and patty, burnt beyond recognition. Even more unbelievable the manager didn't even want to come to the table to see, told the waitress no, just didn't care. Waitress was embarrassed serving the plate too. Dying brand, plastic utensils now served with dine in, unbelievable.
