Had an amazing experience dining at this restaurant in Lahore! The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavour, freshly made, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a treat! We accidentally ordered the wrong dish, but the manager handled the situation with such ease and professionalism – without any fuss, they happily replaced it for us. That kind of customer service is rare and truly appreciated. A special shoutout to our waiter, Javeria, who was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our meal. She made us feel welcomed and taken care of from start to finish.

Went here for lunch. I think it may now be our favourite place in Manchester! So many options on the menu, all of which are fantastic! Great fresh ingredients making fabulous dishes! We were served by Daina who was delightful and very helpful. The desserts are immense too. If you're looking for lunch time or evening meal, you will definitely enjoy MyLahore!

We were welcomed with a beautiful music and service. Our server Hussnain, welcomed us with a freshing smile and excellent service. Our food arrived within 15 minutes, the food was amazinf as always and Hussnain checked in with us regularly to see if we needed anything else. Excellent service all the way, compliments to the chef!!

Brilliant food. I should not have asked for an extra spicy curry because this place didn’t mess around (very nice though). Considering it was fairly busy and on a Saturday evening, we were served everything relatively quickly. Javeria is a lovely girl and made sure everything was great.

Having visited My Lahore in Bradford during a work trip from Ireland a few years ago, Id promised my wife that we would visit again when we came back to the North of England. Well I finally got around to keeping my promise and we weren't disappointed. Everything from the welcome to there to the the food and even the decor was wonderful. Our server was Daina and she was so friendly and chatty she made us feel so welcome. Daina was assisted by young girl who was only on her second day but she was also excellent. Then there's the food, perfectly prepared and wonderfully presented, it was heaven. An absolute 10 outta 10 from us and just wish we lived closer and could visit more often but we will be back.

Mughli Charcoal Pit is a long-standing Indian/Pakistani restaurant located in Rusholme, offering a diverse menu of street food, snacks, curries, biryanis, and slow-cooked stews. The restaurant is known for its chargrilled dishes cooked over a focal charcoal pit. With almost 25 years of experience, Mughli has maintained high-quality standards amidst the changing culinary landscape.
Visited Mughli for many years and the food has always been consistently amazing. Butter Chicken is highly recommended! Unfortunately they got rid of the facade on the front which resembled the streets of India, which is a shame as it added a bit of atmosphere to the place. Still, worth a trip for the top quality food. Service was slightly slow on our latest visit, but again the food made up for it.
Conor J — Google review
Excellent Indian food, but slow service We had a really good meal at Mugli, the food was excellent across the board. For starters, we went for the lamb chops and mixed grill both packed with flavour. For mains, the chicken tikka masala was rich and comforting, and the butter chicken was absolutely sensational one of the best I’ve had. The only downside was the wait time, the food took quite a while to arrive, and we were seriously hungry by the time it did. Worth the wait in the end, but quicker service would really elevate the experience.
Halima A — Google review
Great place to try some Indian kebabs cooked over coals. They also serves some unique dishes like Malai Broccoli. Their butter chicken was the classic British style. Enjoy.
Karl R — Google review
an old indian aesthetic with glass painted windows tucked away from the busyness of wilmslow road dishes were made and served fresh to order we ordered: mango lassi - creamy with the perfect balance of sweet and tanginess bhangin’ potato - crispy potatoes glazed in a variety of sweet and tangy sauces topped with toasted almonds and pomegranate, scrumptious scorpion prawns - flavoured with tandoori and lemon, perhaps could have been more tender lamb chops - yummy charcoal flavour but again not as tender as i’ve had from other places leopard roll - a grilled lamb kofta wrapped in a crispy naan, would recommend getting this! butter chicken - thick, creamy and smoky, also would recommend this 🤩 garlic naan - a must with butter chicken always, has a yummy buttery crunch with a smoked after taste i enjoyed my drink and main meal but slightly let down with the prawn and lamb chops, especially given these are the items they are known for from their charcoal pit. service was quite slow and we were charged incorrectly (corrected once we pointed it out) i would still return to try other items as flavours were yummy and lots of people deem this a staple on wilmslow road.
Zainab L — Google review
Reserved a table and paid the reservation fee, then traveled from Copenhagen only to read a closed sign! Disgusting service and treatment considering the restaurant had our contact details and money and could have easily have reached out to inform us that the place was closed. Seriously bad service.

The O2 Apollo is a renowned 3500-capacity venue in Manchester, known for hosting rock and hip-hop gigs as well as major comedy tours. This Art Deco style building has a rich history, originally opening in 1938 as a cinema and variety hall before becoming one of the city's premier concert halls. Over the years, it has welcomed legendary acts like David Bowie and Iggy Pop, while also showcasing new talents such as The National, Disclosure, and Jake Bugg.
Lovely 1930's Art Decco facade and interior. Originally a cinema. With the stalls floor sloping down to the stage with 2 bar areas. Surprisingly clean toilets. And great acoustics. Had an awesome night curtacy of Corb Lund supporting The Dead South
Jessica S — Google review
I always complain about not enough gigs in Liverpool and always reluctantly go to Manchester. But I must say this is actually my favourite venue to go to for live music. It's a great venue to be fair. We went very recently and I've never been in a queue so large and we weren't even particularly late to arrive but it meant we only caught the last 2 songs of the supporting act which I was actually pretty gutted about. So I would really like to mention that. Something should really make that a bit easier. Saying that, I absolutely love how the floor is sloped so your visibility is better. I think other than the fact the venue is not massive, that's one of my favourite things about here. The tickets were pretty costly if I'm honest which is a shame but I'd rather pay that for here than a huge arena so the venue can survive - it still was a very costly ticket though. The nearby parking is actually shocking so don't bother - it's worth parking elsewhere and walking down. Overall I do really enjoy coming here over any other venue. Maybe find a way to sort out the colossal queue and it would be absolutely awesome if the stage could be just a bit higher?
Kris T — Google review
Great venue. The sloped standing area (stalls) is genius, meaning no matter how far back you are, you can see the stage clearly. Security prompt with any issues or ill crowd members. I like how they keep the sides clear, means you can exit and re-enter the crowd easily.
Emily J — Google review
I want to compliment the security team we had on the 13/10/25, absolute stars, could tell they really cared, and they really made an effort! felt looked after and both times i had a wobble i was seen to straight away. venue itself was good, has a nice nostalgic vibe to it and queueing was straight forward.
Ken! — Google review
Nice building and it's a nice venue, to host a concert. But when looking around once I was seated, I noticed a couple of the air vents in the ceiling was caked in dust. I think they need to clean it, before something seriously happens.
Amanda D — Google review
A decent venue with great acoustics and a massive stage. The location ok but it is a bit out of the city centre and requires either a decent walk or taxi. The seating in the upper sections is a bit cramped, but overall a pleasant experience.
Matt H — Google review
Really well organised, there was a huge Que but we were in within 10 mins, plenty of toilets and bars and show was amazing
Colette D — Google review
Well organised. Marshalls very polite and helpful. Great to be in a circle A or H raws 14 and 15 are edge middle ones;) Finneas proved to be very talented, singing live is not a studio and he has done a great job. Parking booked on Just Park, pricey but the car was safe and walking distance away

Takeout Restaurant
Jaffa Restaurant is a Mediterranean Halal spot located in the heart of Rusholmes Curry Mile. It caters to a diverse clientele with its affordable prices and delicious offerings. The menu includes items like pizzas, fatayer, lamb or chicken shawarmas, and an array of mezzes. Customers have praised the consistent quality of food, excellent service, and value for money over the years. The restaurant offers ample seating, clean facilities, and friendly staff.
Great food and Great Service - every time! Been going here for many years, and the service has been consistently good. Parking however can be a nightmare, especially so during busy periods. Due to how busy it can get, you may find yourself waiting for a longer period of time as your food is prepared, however the food we found has been worth the wait. The children, however, have less patience! Accepted card payment on our visit. Visually confirmed food here is halal.
J — Google review
Whenever we go to eat out in Manchester as a family our preferred restaurant is Jaffa on Wilmslow Road. Good quality, clean food and tasty. Photos are of the chicken pizza, lamb shawarma, garlic bread, humus and salad. Also had a couple of cans of pop. Staff are accommodating and helpful. It didn't seem that we waited long for our order to arrive. Total cost was around £30.
Sajjad B — Google review
Have been here a number of times now and every single time the food and service is consistent. Serving amazing hot fresh fatayers, pizzas, shwarma wraps and mixed grills at very affordable prices. Would definitely recommend to anyone craving a hearty grilled meal. The settings were nice and casual not anything fancy but it does the job for any size group. Plenty of seating.
Shahnaz R — Google review
Visited this a couple of weeks ago with a friend. The menu is quite extensive, the food is ok but I found the guy who took our order a bit rude and abrupt. There are so many options in the vicinity and I could think of other places nearby to get more quality products and be treated nicely. There is more seating upstairs as the ground floor can get quite busy with all the people waiting for a takeaway.
Andy T — Google review
Lovely restaurant with lovely staff, would recommend specially if you were looking for a place that can host a large group of friends
Ala E — Google review
Went to Jaffa in the evening for dinner, this place is AMAZING. Friendly staff, fresh food and big portions. This place is deceivingly big, they have seating upstairs too. This place was BUSY, and now I know exactly why!! We ordered 2 lamb shawarma, 3 chicken shawarma and a fatayeh with spicy lamb. One mistake we made was when we ordered the shawarma we didn't go for the sandwich option (where is wrapped up nice and tight with), so the shawarma was in a plate with the bread and salad on the side. To be fair the brother in here was more then happy to wrap up the shawarma, the rest of us just dug in. My gosh mixing the salad, sauces and chicken was divine. This was a chicken salad but very flavourful and fresh! Everyone really enjoyed the food and the spicy lamb fatayeh went down a treat. This place wasn't overly priced, and we all left full and content. Thanks to all those in Jaffa!! 😊 See you all soon for sure!!
H B — Google review
Revisited Jaffa after decades, & it was just as I remembered it. The food was delicious, fresh & affordable. The staff is always friendly, & the service is quick. No wonder this is one of the most popular spots in Rusholme.
Nida K — Google review
TOP SHAWARMA SPOT EVEN though it took too long for my meal but that was cause it was very very very very busy. so many people, and it was cold and stuffy inside but the staff was amazing. make sure you specify what you want between a shawarma plate and a shawarma SANDWICH. cause i asked for a shawarma expecting a wrap but it was a platter. all in all, amazing staff really sweet and id definitely recommend. and it’s very budget friendly, my entire meal, SO filling btw, took me 2 meals to get rid of and a drink was only £7 with unlimited chilli and yoghurt.

Elizabeth Gaskell's House is the restored former home of the renowned author Elizabeth Gaskell. The house features period rooms, a Victorian-style garden, a tea room, and a bookshop. Elizabeth Gaskell was an influential Victorian novelist whose works provided detailed insights into various layers of society during that era. The museum offers visitors a glimpse into her life and literature through historic period rooms and a well-maintained garden.
Such an interesting historical house , with amazing volunteers, and staff who enthusiastically Tell you everything you need to know about the history of the Gaskells It has a lovely little tea room at the end of the tour and opportunities to my Elizabeth Gaskell’s books

Brilliant visit to a most interesting house. The passion and knowledge of those who volunteer there is amazing. And such a lot of information. And artefacts. Excellent place to visit.
Helen G — Google review
I had a wonderful time here. The lovely guides were very knowledgeable and the house is beautiful. I actually didn’t know about Elizabeth Gaskell and it was a pleasant surprise to learn about her success as a writer and, to use a modern word, influencer.
Mirja H — Google review
We had a wonderful visit. It’s an absolute bargain to get in and the cafe was reasonable too. The volunteers have incredible knowledge and are genuinely passionate about the history of Elizabeth Gaskell and the house she lived in. More people should know about this - I can’t recommend it highly enough. AND! You buy a ticket and you can return as much as you want within a year. I’m already planning to go again with some colleagues!
Amy H — Google review
I was so thrilled by the hospitality of the staff! In the beginning, I only thought of seeing E. Gaskell’s house where she wrote her wonderful novels and her biography of Charlotte Bronte. I didn’t expect that the senior volunteer ladies would have a lovely conversation with me about the less known novel Ruth. I purchased a ticket, and they told me, probably the only visitor from Taiwan that they received, that the ticket is for permanent use. How sweet! Anyway, I stayed there for a whole afternoon and learned a lot of information about industrialization, her collaboration with Charles Dickens and even Charles Darwin, who kept Gaskell’s tales in his bedroom for reading aloud. Such a great experience!
Yvette H — Google review
Very enjoyable visit to Elizabeth Gaskells House . Very knowledgeable volunteers in each room in the house . It was a pleasure to meet and talk to each one of them
Pauline F — Google review
We never knew much about the author prior to our visit and we left the place much to wiser thanks to our wonderful guide. The house was beautiful with nice glimpses of life during Victorian times. Children can enter free too which adds to the attraction.
Adrian G — Google review
Wow! This place and its people made me proud to be a Mancunian, all over again!! Though I've never read any of Elizabeth Gaskell's works (don't worry, I will!), I was fascinated by every room and every tidbit of knowledge gained about this author's life. Reading about how Elizabeth, William and their daughters would have lived was very interesting. The volunteers were impressively knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter; I loved speaking with them! I was there for 3.5hrs last week and still didn't even see all the rooms; I was so intrigued by everything I didn't want to rush the experience! I'm glad the ticket lasts for a year... :) I loved going down to the tea room, where I enjoyed a few cuppas and some tasty cake! I also bought some books about Manchester and the North that I think were extremely pertinent, given the context - particularly the topics dealt with in 'North and South'! I will definitely be back; thank you for such an immersive experience! 😊😊 I'm so glad that the effort was made to restore this house to its former glory, and to preserve the history of such an important woman! I also appreciated how we learnt about other important women from the North / from Gaskell's era, as we walked through the house!

Victoria Baths is a well-loved Grade II listed Edwardian swimming and Turkish bath facility in Manchester. It opened in 1906 and was praised for its splendid Victorian architecture, featuring decorative tiles, stained glass, and mosaic floors. Although the baths have not been open for swimming since 1993, efforts are underway to fully restore them. In the meantime, the building is used for various events and occasional guided tours are available on Wednesdays from March to November.
An amazing place. Shame there's no swimming any more, but the building is definitely worth preserving for visitors. Very knowledgeable staff can tell you more about the place. Number 50 bus goes close by.

Korean restaurant
Seoul Kimchi is a cozy eatery located on Upper Brook Street, offering traditional Korean and Japanese dishes. Despite its small size, it's always bustling with students and has received glowing praise from visitors. The family-run gem serves up wonderful Korean classics like jeon and bimibap, as well as generous barbecue dishes such as squid and pork bulgogi. The restaurant also offers Japanese dishes including sushi.
I love the 'Ginseng Chicken' here. It's really authentic! You can choose either a half or whole chicken, and the half portion was perfect for me. According to the owner, who is a very kind lady, she goes to Korea every year to get the Korean Ginseng that is used in this soup. Amazing! My husband ordered 'Bibimbap,' and he loved it too. I tried a bit of the Gochujang sauce with the Bibimbap, and it was the real, authentic Korean Gochujang. I was so happy to finally experience great Korean food after 2 years in the UK.
Eunjung ( — Google review
Honestly, very disappointed. We came all the way from far away after seeing so many great reviews online, but the food was completely overrated. The pancakes had no flavour at all and weren’t crispy like the reviews claimed. The chicken portion was okay, but it was still bland. The Kimchi Soup with pork was the biggest letdown, only 2 pieces of pork in the whole bowl 😀. It was really expensive for what we got. To be honest, this is the worst food I’ve had in Manchester. Also, when we asked for takeaway boxes because we didn’t want to waste food, they charged us extra without informing us beforehand, which felt quite dishonest. Overall, the experience was really poor. Definitely not worth the trip. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Foods and drinks are so good. They have tap water, cold barley tea, ice - self help. --> I like this. However the place is quite small for a group 7 people, and staffs were tired to serve multiple times. They requested us to limit the number ò time we order.

Have tried a couple times with no success of nabbing a table as it's quite small/cosy and clearly word has got around of what's on offer. Authentic Korean flavours and dishes available on the menu that you don't really see anywhere else in Manchester. Everything other than the food is self service which I do like. 100% worth a try if wanting an entry point to proper Korean food or if you just get a craving for it every now and then.

Can’t believe the last time I came here was 10 years ago with our baby daughter. Just as good then as it is now. Lovely. We don’t live local otherwise we would be here more often

Myself and my daughter love the Korean culture so when we came across this place it was perfect. The chicken is halal which is very ideal for muslims. Food was so delicious and staff are so friendly. We have been here few times now.
Bunessa H — Google review
The food was delicious, although the ginseng soup was a little bit bland compared to the free soup i was given first. It felt like a hug from my grandma (no i’m not korean haha) as i was very sick that day. The gyozas were incredible!

Seoul Kimchi is an absolute gem of a restaurant! I ordered the kimchi fried rice, and my friend had the bibimbap, and both dishes were out of this world. The flavours were so rich and perfectly balanced that words genuinely can’t do them justice, you have to try it to understand how amazing it is. The dishes practically melted in our mouths, making every bite a delight. We started with the complimentary soups, which were warm and comforting, a perfect way to begin the meal. My personal favorite, however, was the tteokbokki. It was soft, cheesy, and had just the right amount of spice, a true masterpiece. The only small downside is that the place is a bit tiny, so it might not be the best for large groups. That said, it’s absolutely worth visiting, especially since they offer a variety of halal options, which is such an advantage for someone like me who struggles to find halal Korean food. Overall, I’m super pleased and can’t wait to come back!

Nestled in the charming Victorian villas of Nelson Street, The Pankhurst Centre is a significant landmark that celebrates the birthplace of the suffragette movement. Once home to Emmeline Pankhurst and her daughters, this inspiring venue opened its doors in 1903 and has since evolved into both a museum and a vibrant women's community center. Visitors can immerse themselves in exhibitions that highlight the remarkable contributions of the Pankhurst family to women's rights and democracy.
This is the 4-room house museum of the famed Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. Although tiny, it's fantastic. The staff are welcoming, helpful, charming & passionate advocates for women's rights. I loved the colorful REBEL! t-shirts so much I bought one myself. The cafe/tearoom features a wide choice of teas you basically make yourself, a few biscuits & some fruit & nut bars. It's quirky in that definitely British way. You'll love it. The largest room features a timeline of the Suffragette movement, its success with the labour movement to improve worker's rights, and how that v energy has carried into the peace movement. The front room is the family room describing the Pankhurst family, their activities & their influences during the Victorian era, as well as post-WWI. The middle room offers an engaging 15-minute summary of Suffragette history as well as Pankhurst's passionate part in its tumultuous events as they strove to gain the right to vote in the face of media ridicule & brutal government over-reaction, an over-reaction that only served to radicalize otherwise normal upper-middle-class mothers. The back parlor is a gorgeous Art Noveau room with amazing wainscoting, a beautiful wallpaper of twisting plants, and e original period furniture. This is the very room in which Pankhurst held the first meeting of the Suffragettes, committing themselves to the struggle for women's rights. The museum is a bit hard to find as it's hidden at the back of a hospital parking lot. But walk towards the street corner. You'll see a gate that takes you through the calm & tidy Suffragette garden along a side path that twists around the building to the front door. In the summer you'll want to follow the museums advice & purchase your £5 ticket in advance, as the place could get crowded very quickly. This tiny museum is surprisingly relevant in light of today's events in both the US & the UK. I highly recommend for both women & men. And remember: REBEL. Stand up lawfully for women's civil rights. Refuse to go backwards.
Fortune E — Google review
Small but important site, both Emmeline Pankhurst’s home & the place of the first meeting of what became the Suffragettes. The building was set to be demolished in the 1980s but thankfully was saved from the bulldozer. Cafe & toilets on site & a garden with benches to the rear of the property.
Toxteth G — Google review
Emmeline Pankhurst (née Emmeline Goulden) is remembered as one of the many women who fought hard to help women gain the right to vote. Her 40-year campaign achieved success in 1928, the year of her death, when British women finally gained full equality when it came to voting in political elections. Pankhurst was born in Manchester and she and her family lived at number 62 Nelson Street from 1898 until 1907. The first meeting of the movement that became known as the suffragettes took place in the parlour of this house. Today, the house has been transformed into a museum where visitors can learn the story of women’s fight for the right to vote.

I honestly it’s a good uni academically but they don’t have access to a lot of things a normal university will have like a big library or a 24hrs library. Some students do not have a quiet place to study at home so they have to rely on libraries which this uni doesn’t provide on certain hours. The staff are really helpful.

The campus environment is unsafe and unsupportive for international students. Reports of harassment, bullying, and psychological distress are not handled appropriately. The university lacks effective mechanisms to protect or assist students in vulnerable situations, leaving many to cope with serious personal and mental health challenges on their own. Departments such as SOE Wellbeing and other student support units provide little to no meaningful assistance, often ignoring or inadequately addressing students’ concerns even in cases requiring urgent intervention.

I am deeply disappointed with the university 's handling my refund request .I have sent multiple emails to admission office but I haven't received any clear update. I LOVE the Mindfulness class with Andrea! It is literally the best class I have ever been to!!! Absolute weekly treat for anyone! It is one of a kind gentle stretch with chill music and flickering lights. Please, if possible do it one more time per week for all us stress balls out there!
Ilina S — Google review
The staff are nice and friendly. However, the gym equipment is old and most seats are ripping. There is a lot of rust on the machines and they wobble. The AC hardly ever works or blows out hot air, how is it colder outside than inside the Gym? The gym experience is very uncomfortable.
Sadia A — Google review
Great leisure centre with great access for disabled people. Nice level access so isn't bad for people with back problems. Friendly staff. Was the same pool I learned to swim in in 2001. Nothing much has changed apart from getting better in their facilities although I do miss the vending machines as you came out the pool where the library is now. Used to have a seating area & kids play area too.
Amber M — Google review
The leisure centre itself is lovely and the staff there has been helpful and kind but it has a BIG cleanliness issue. The gym equipment is dirty and sometimes even sticky, the gaps on machines are full of crumbs, hair and God knows what else to the point it has created a layer of gunk. It’s really demotivating to even get on them. Same with the Dance studio. I went to a yoga class but was put off by the horrendous smell of feet. The whole floor was dirty with dust and crumbs and even some dried up spillage. Considering it was a yoga class where majority of movement you do is on a floor/mat its really unacceptable. After the class I had to brush off my leggings because they were left with dust and dirt all over them. And then the pool!!!! To a naked eye it looks clean however the other day I brought in some swimming goggles with me and to be honest I wish I could un-see what was going on under water- hair clump clusters in more than one place, unspecified white blobs floating around and the thing that tipped it all over the edge was a cotton q-tip on the bottom of the pool. How does that even get in there. I have no idea if they clean the pool but if they do it’s not very often at all. And lastly the toilets are really bad- there has not been one visit where the toilets have been in a good condition. I should not be cleaning after someone else just to use the toilet. Really disgusting. Very very unsanitary!!! Bad cleaning issue!

The friendly staff are always on hand to assist you, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere as you browse through their fantastic collection.
I find this bookstore much better than the Waterstone in Deansgate, while it's smaller the book selection is better. I was able to find a copy of Mordew here, and as usual I ultimately ended up grabbing a couple of more books. Their Philosophy section is pretty good, as well as their history section.

Lovely bookstore! Great location with a close proximity to bus and train links and in a walking distance to town centre. Staff is friendly and always there to lend a helpful hand. The prices are reasonable and their selection of books is fantastic! They have everything you will ever need for school or university or even kindergarten. Their selection of soft toys is impressive considering the fact that it’s a bookstore. You will find all occasions postcards as well as beautiful wrapping paper that is to die for! They also sell Manchester University merchandise which is reasonably priced. Their selection of books is also worth of mentioning as they have literally everything from thrillers, mysteries, horrors to poems, travelling guides, maps, children books and your typical coffee table books (which I am eyeing at the moment). There is also Caffè Nero situated upstairs where you can buy wide variety of drinks and sweet or savoury foods. They have a lovely designed seating arrangement with a cozy nook that if you are lucky enough you might seat in. The café is usually very crowded with students and university staffers but you can always order a takeout. Overall it is a very friendly and welcoming place. I would recommend. ✌🏻

I visited Retreat Salon after seeing that it was award-winning, but honestly, I don’t understand what the awards were for. I paid £94 expecting a high-quality facial experience, but what I received was very basic — things I could have easily done myself at home. The treatment included simple makeup removal, face washing, and light exfoliation. No extractions were done, and when I asked the manager, she said: “This is what we offer, we don’t do extractions.” The consultation with the therapist was nothing more than identifying my skin type and asking if I’m on any medication — no real discussion or skin analysis. The facial was supposed to be 50 minutes, but about 20 minutes of it was basic cleansing, and the rest was a very standard scalp and shoulder massage that didn’t feel professional or therapeutic. On top of all that, the therapist had bad breath, which made the experience uncomfortable. I left the salon with my skin still feeling clogged, and the blackheads were still clearly there. For £94, I expected proper care, visible results, and a level of expertise that just wasn’t there. Definitely not worth it.

Booked a 55 minute hot stone massage on Sunday for £115, which compared to Nini Spa round the corner is more expensive. The Spa itself is lovely and the receptionist was great, however the actual treatment only lasted 40 minutes. When I came out and asked the receptionist if this was correct she said no, it should have been 55 minutes and would get a manager to call me the next day (yesterday) I received no contact which is disappointing as I was looking a new place to get my massages done and the actual massage was good, just wanted the full amount of time I actually paid for!

Visit recently with a friend for a much-anticipated pamper day. We had booked a series of treatments— I chose a massage and body scrub, while my friend opted for two different massages. We booked as a duo, intending to enjoy the experience together, but were unexpectedly separated, not detrimental in itself but a precursor for what came next. Our treatments were pleasant, but the massages lacked the level of pressure we requested, leaving both of us somewhat underwhelmed. Following my body scrub, I was instructed to return to the locker rooms to shower and wait for my friend in reception, despite there being a shower in the treatment room - seemed unnecessarily inconvenient but did as I was told, making my way back down the hall to the locker room covered in body scrub and getting it all over the robe I'd been provided. The showers in the locker room were cramped and poorly equipped. Since the scrub had transferred to my robe during the walk over, and I had to use it again afrer my shower, I ended up covered in the remnants of body scrub again after my shower. Once showered and dressed, I returned to reception as told and waited for my friend, and waited, and waited. Initially, I assumed her treatment had been extended or delayed, but as time passed, it became clear that something was amiss. After 30 minutes sitting there, I eventually asked the desk staff if I could order a drink, and received a prosecco, though I couldn’t help but feel that the staff could have been more attentive and proactive in asking if I'd like a drink or letting me know they serve them, especially given how long I had been sitting there for so long as she knew I was waiting on my friend. After 40 minutes, my friend finally appeared, equally as confused as me. Her therapist had taken her to a relaxation area and instructed her to wait for me there, but no one had informed either of us of this arrangement so we were sitting around like fools. The lack of communication created unnecessary confusion and disrupted what should have been a relaxing experience. This disorganization, coupled with the underwhelming facilities and treatments, means we would not consider returning or recommending the spa. It’s disappointing, as we live nearby and frequently enjoy spa days, but this experience fell short of the standard we would expect. I will however say the service and facilities in the rest of the Lowry did meet expectations.

If you are expecting a spa experience, this isn’t it. There are treatment rooms but no spa facilities, the ‘relaxation room’ is just two beds (not very clean) right next to two of the treatment rooms. There is no spa feel whatsoever. The changing rooms are quite frankly, disgusting. There was dirt, mould, sewerage smell, lack of towels, extremely dated. The water in the showers also had an odd smell to it, I rinsed my hair as I’d got salt in it from the floating tank & my hair smelt like sewer water. The floating tank experience was ok, but the room it was in was small & the shower didn’t work, which meant after the tank, you couldn’t rinse the salt off. Due to this, it meant salt went on the bed and floor in the communal areas & the staff member was rude when she saw this. We had lunch in the bar and the food was appalling, unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture but I’d ordered a Thai chicken salad and just got given some plain chicken and some raw veg? The staff in the restaurant were also not pleasant. For a 5* hotel, this really isn’t a 5* experience!! For the prices, you can go to a proper spa or even a treatment spa and have a much more enjoyable (& cleaner) experience!!

I booked RE:TREAT as one of the activities for my sister's hen party, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience. Natasha, the spa manager, was incredibly helpful and accommodating; nothing was too much effort for her. When our group of 19 arrived, we were greeted with a warm and bubbly welcome. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The facilities were lovely and clean, and our prosecco was waiting for us on ice. We enjoyed body scrubs and neck, shoulder, and back massages, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Some even said it was the best massage they have ever had. I just want to thank the entire team—Natasha, Becca, Vikky, Michelle, Jodie, and Sophia—for making us feel so welcome and relaxed. I would definitely recommend The RE-TREAT to friends and family. Thank you!

Had a wonderful relaxing night Away. With my Niece and Daughter. First Class. Loved the Hotel. Very friendly and helpful Staff.

We had a horrible experience. Wrote to management to let them know and did not receive a response. The staff were very unprofessional and not bothered. Openly discriminating. Sad to see that people would differentiate treatment due to colour- can’t possibly think of any other reason! We were so polite and excited for our treatments and watched another couple treated so well. Almost like we were invisible. The so called therapists were too busy gossiping to even direct us to where we should wait. For an experience that cost us £200 we were very disappointed! Not worth it all.
