Breakfast restaurant
MarieBette Café and Bakery is a charming European-style eatery known for its exceptional pastries like brioche feuilletee and the original Prezzant, a pretzel-croissant hybrid. The café offers outdoor seating and serves breakfast, lunch fare, cakes, and on-the-go coffee. It's a popular spot for brunch with a light sit-down menu featuring baked eggs and sourdough breakfast sandwiches.
Everything from here is fantastic. I've visited many times. This time I tasted both my go-to everything bagel seasoned pastry pretzel and a seasonal king cake. The king cake had an almond that was so light and balanced and wasn't overly sweet. It was perfect. Highly recommend!

Perfect and delicious place for light breakfast & coffee- well, lattes. You can order a more robust & hearty breakfast, but we chose a variety of pastries - chocolate croissant, 2 other smaller ones (don’t recall names) and an apple tart. I wished that I would have taken photos of the beautiful decorated/stenciled in flour or powdered sugar breads & desserts- works of art! We got there just before the line had to moved outside, but it moved pretty quickly. We got our order to go, but we decided to sit down at a table that was available to enjoy it.
Melissa C — Google review
here are a few areas for outdoor seating and a small area inside for seating, as such, they were full and there was an hour wait for seating. We had time so we waited and it went much faster than expected. You order at the counter and get a number for your table. It is self-seating and no reservations. There's a separate nearby station which has silverware, condiments, and self-serve water. We ordered a London Fog, Latte, Almond Croissant, Parfait, Sharondale, and "Madame" (with an egg) Croquet Monsieur.

Great little coffee spot with French baked goods. Lots of croissants, sticky buns. I picked up a sourdough bread to take home. It was made fresh that day and was delicious with our Italian meal that night.

When I come to Charlottesville I always need to stop by MarieBette. Love this little café with its wonderful array of desserts. I must admit their cannelés are my weakness. Their quiches are delicious. I always leave with baguette, croissants, and a few other viennoiseries. Being French I can’t resist:) The atmosphere is great and the people working there are always helpful and kind. A must visit.
Fabienne M — Google review
Perfect little specialty shop for coffee and baked treats. The caneles (pictured) are specifically what we stopped in to get while visiting Charlottesville. Also enjoyed a couple of iced coffees which complimented the pastries very nicely. The parking lot and pedestrian traffic stay pretty busy so be careful when pulling in or out of the lot.
Chuck S — Google review
The food was great for either quick stop or a sit down breakfast. Definitely recommend. Only complaint is that if it’s raining the said down space is limited.
Dilara D — Google review
By local American standards it's a pretty good place. By European standards this place is a disaster. Espresso was overroasted and waaaay too bitter. Pastry is passable.

Bizou is a charming restaurant located in Charlottesville, offering a mix of traditional and updated Southern dishes. The establishment, which has been around for 20 years, prides itself on sourcing local ingredients that change with the seasons. The menu features classic favorites like meatloaf and pot pie alongside elegant Sunday brunch options such as eggs Florentine, hanger steak, salmon, and pomegranate mimosas.
Had a great brunch at Bizou. We went during the children's spring break. As such, it wasn't as crowded as we feared as most of the college students were likely on break as well. We were seated without delay. The Double Down Burger and Spicy Chicken Burger were both tasty, juicy, and full of flavor. The rest of the table were satisfied with their dishes as well though i am not certain what they were called. Service was excellent! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The venue itself has a charming old historic feel that adds to the experience.
Vernon C — Google review
We had the Biriaa Biscuit and Fried Chicken Sandwich, both of which tasted amazing. The chicken thigh was cooked beautifully and the slaw was perfect. We had a side of fries that were cooked perfectly. Their cocktails are worth the price, amazingly made. The service was kind and quick. We ate within 30 minutes of sitting down.

Servers were all very polite and hospitable. The atmosphere was mellow with dim lighting. BUT THE FOOD THO. THE FOOD WAS STUPENDOUS. The short rib croquettes, the duck ravioli, the scallop seasonal special, the creme brulee! The short rib croquettes and their crunchy exterior when you bite into it, the creamy and soft short ribs interior dipped into the rich and creamy hint of mustard SAuce. Exquisite. The duck ravioli was full of flavor, perfectly cooked al dente ravioli, so good. Touched my tralala. The scallop had a very nice grilled flavor, there was so much different flavor in one dish. Like the autumn leaves. The pumpkin slices, to the carrots, to whatever was in there. I don't even know where they get their olive oil. That was such a smooth and fruity flavor. The creme brulee was a nice finisher. I would love to go back.

A Cville treasure! Great menu with local ingredients executed perfectly. Sit outside if the weather permits or grab a cozy booth inside. We had the roasted beet salad with seared salmon for lunch.
Frankie A — Google review
Food is fantastic. Wine list is complete. Only comment is to take a day with the staff on the wines & proper serving temps. Beautiful bottle of 2022 Chablis came out slightly under room temp. Had to ice it down to bring it to its glory. Was genuinely great otherwise. Just take the time to educate the super star staff on the wine.
Max T — Google review
Splendid French style dishes. • autumn squash tart absolutely exquisite. Fall in a bite, roasted cinnamony squash, buttery crisp and rich tart, pumpkin seed texture pop, & matchless goat cheese yogurt sauce with hint of sweetness and basil garnish. • tuna tartare with minty green sauce and sweet sour soy glaze, fresh tuna, & crispy wonton fried strips for dipping and crunch texture. • confit duck ravioli with generous richly flavorful sauce, garlic pesto, basil, goat cheese yogurt drizzle. Succulent duck in al dente ravioli pasta. Restaurant floorplan a bit narrow feeling, service can be a bit rushed and desultory by some of the staff but attentive and great by others. Superb food.
S. C — Google review
Food quality was variable. Burrata salad was pretty good, vegan tamale not so good, garlic bread not so good, crab cakes were ok, and short ribs were good. Server was a bit awkward but ultimately provided decent service. Sit outside--kitchen fumes a bit strong inside.
Greg M — Google review
Vegetarian options and all the servers work together as a team. Even the bartender came to ask exactly how the cocktails are desired. I would like more than one napkin but hey the food was amazing. Very quaint place.

Brunch restaurant
Farm Bell Kitchen is a sophisticated restaurant located on Main Street in Charlottesville, offering upscale Southern dishes and a convivial atmosphere. It's known for its locally-inspired farm-to-fork brunch menu, available throughout the week. The restaurant serves a variety of delicious dishes such as avocado toast with smoked salmon and poached eggs, Nashville hot chicken biscuit sliders, fried green tomatoes, banana beignets, eggs benedict variations including crab cake benedict and house-cured pork benedict.
EXCELLENT food and service at an affordable price point. My sisters and I really enjoyed our meal. It has a variety of options (including vegetarian) and I would recommend outdoor patio seating and to make a reservation. I had the South by Southwest (breakfast tacos) and added the andouille sausage (a little spicy but delicious). The biscuits were really great and they have a variety of jams you can request (mango, blueberry, grape). Would also recommend trying their homemade hot sauce—so yum! It was a perfect addition to my breakfast tacos. I opted to have coffee which was freshly brewed, but the drinks other guests were having looked yummy— maybe next time! Overall, the food was delicious and I would highly recommend as a breakfast/brunch spot. I would come here again!

The food wasn't bad. My Pancake and bacon could have been better for the price. And the atmosphere it exhumed. But my wife's ophelys egg Benedict was super awesome looking, and my wife absolutely loved it.
Joseph C — Google review
Came here for breakfast with my wife and we enjoyed our time here. We both liked the vibe inside, very farmhouse-y, with multiple different rooms to eat in. We both got the breakfast burrito and it was good both in quantity and quality. The coffee was actually pretty cheap and we liked it. We will like eat here again, would like to try lunch or dinner as well.
Randy T — Google review
I got the crepes with strawberries and nutella and they were delicious, a really good size portion. We also ordered a carafe of mimosa which was a good size. The salmon was super fishy, and while i was naturally gifted with a large sausage the sausage on the biscuit was rather small, the pancakes were also a really good size and unique with the white chocolate. the servers were a couple of odd balls but they were kind enough. We also started our dining experience with banana beignets which were fantastic.

Perfect breakfast for our last morning in the region. Eggs Benedict was perfect and Waffles with strawberries were delicious! Highly recommend for quiet date or friends catching up.
Marie R — Google review
Great food, large portions, great service! Cozy little restaurant with great service. I took pictures of the bowls (Bayou bowl and Steak bowl) but pictures did not do justice to the size or taste quality of the meals. Note: There is absolutely no parking near this restaurant. Expect to find a garage nearby and park. Walk from nearby garages are about 5-7 min.

We ate outside and our waitress was awesome! The food was delicious and I would highly recommend going there! We had savory crepes and baked egg in an avocado. Delicious!

Tip Top Restaurant, located on Pantops Mountain in Charlottesville, Virginia, offers a relaxed atmosphere with retro decor and a diverse menu featuring classic diner dishes. The restaurant is known for serving breakfast all day and incorporating Greek-inspired flavors into their offerings. Under new ownership, Tip Top continues to attract a bustling crowd with its satisfying meals. The establishment's history as a former Howard Johnson's restaurant adds to its nostalgic charm.
Came here for breakfast with my wife and enjoyed our experience here. The menu has a lot of good options and the portion sizes were very big, I could barely finish my meal. I particularly liked the corned beef hash, which you don’t often see on menus so I had to get it. The eggs were eggs (hard to mess up) and the home fries were good too. It has an old timer diner feel that I enjoyed as well. Would recommend coming here if you’re in the area, especially for breakfast
Randy T — Google review
Fun restaurant to visit. Nice, bright and well maintained. You can order breakfast all day so naturally we ordered pancakes, eggs and bacon. Service is friendly and fairly quick. Also had a chef salad which was very fresh and amply sized. Bacon was a little skimpy but tasty. Also had a toasted Genoa salami sub, while decent, wasn’t thoroughly toasted. Depute the minor nitpicks this is a great restaurant and will return. It is a little difficult to find if you’ve never been here before. If you are heading West, it is immediately after the Carmax. Parking up front seems to be taken most of the time but there is plenty more parking in the back. This is a popular local restaurant so you may need to be patient if visiting during peak times.
Kemal P — Google review
I should have gotten breakfast. The onion rings were room temperature onion slices wrapped in undercooked batter and grease ooze. The hamburger was warm and tasty and my wife's pasta was hot and delicious. Service was about what I expect from a 'one hit wonder' place...couldn't have cared less if anything was off or if we were alive or not. I understand this place wins all sorts of awards...wish those workers had been on duty when we were there...maybe I wouldn't be regretting not having had breakfast at 630pm.
Bob C — Google review
My husband and I sat down for dinner on Friday, March 20th, 2025. We were seated immediately. I did not get our waitress name as she didn’t give it. Our waitress smelled strongly of cigarette smoke like it just hit us in the face. We gave her our beverage and food order at the same time and we still waited several minutes for our drinks. other people who came in after us had their drinks before we did. And let me point out yall were not that busy at all at the current time. My husband ordered a chicken parm sub with fries and I ordered a sausage parm sub with fries . We got our subs but we didn’t get the fries we wanted. We were served chips instead which is not what we wanted . One half of my sub literally has one piece of small sausage on it and the rest was bread and sauce. Also it was extremely unpleasant when I took a bite into my sub and it had a whole bay leaf in it. You all normally do not disappoint but yall definitely did that night. #1. Not a pleasant smell cigarette smoke. #2. Waiting for our drinks #3. Messed up food order #4 there was a whole bay leaf in a sub which is not edible or pleasant to bite into.
Stacey M — Google review
Popular local family restaurant. Very busy, but they are cranking food out like clockwork! Basic diner-style food. Not a huge menu selection, but they do good with what they offer. Friendly staff. Lot of parking in the back, but don't be dismayed if you have to wait a little bit...you'll get in pretty quick. It's noisy, but you can tell everyone is happily chatting.
Jessica D — Google review
Stopped here on a long drive, food was comforting and hearty. The staff were great, playing good tunes. Highly recommend.

Restaurant
Nestled in Charlottesville, Brazos Tacos is a vibrant Tex-Mex eatery that offers a delightful fusion of traditional brunch elements with a hearty Texan twist. The casual joint features an array of creative tacos and unique beverages, making it a popular spot for families. With its weekend hours and outdoor patio adorned with lights, it's an ideal destination for a laid-back dining experience.
All the food is delicious, especially the chicken and brisket. Must try the fresh lemon/limeade or margarita. Great location for kids. Lots of outdoor space for them to explore. They also provide crayons and paper to color.
Sarah O — Google review
I ordered the ' I willy love you ' tacos, and they were pretty good! Wish they had more than one slice of avacado per taco though. Very nice restaurant and staff, I will definitely be returning to try some other flavors.
Katie K — Google review
We tried all six of the tacos on happy hour. They were all excellent, though I was partial to the vegetarian ones. The watermelon jalapeño margarita was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Nice outdoor atmosphere. Excited to return and try more!
Beth Z — Google review
This restaurant is the BEST! The food is absolutely perfect, so flavorful and tasty. The Brazos Burrito is sooooo good. We had the Tres Leches cake for dessert which was also probably our favorite dessert we have ever gotten at a restaurant —ever!! The service is great as well! So friendly and welcoming. The patio is very nicely decorated and kept very clean/tidy. There’s absolutely nothing I could suggest to improve, they have it all figured out already! I wish I lived in this area, I would come back all the time. Next time I’m in Charlottesville I WILL be coming back!
Asher C — Google review
Great location with a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. Select tacos are included in their happy hour deals. There is a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan tacos - I highly recommend “this is my yam” and “triple pickle”
Catherine B — Google review
I enjoyed the tacos here. They were veery flavorful ! I ordered the blackened shrimp and steak tacos with chips and guacamole 🥑. Will definitely be returning . I’m sure this is my new favorite . I can’t wait to try different kind.
Shaquail C — Google review
I ordered 2 Texas twinkies, 1 pollo rostizado 1 carnitas And 1 adult beverage, the Calbron. Unfortunately food was luke warm when it came out, and generally uneventful/ subpar would be a bit mean... the carnitas was undercooked and concerning... no bueno. *See photo, after the attempt to down it. Some pozies tho: 1)Though basic in flavor, the Cabron hits a quite strong if all you've had all day is popcorn, some chips and a veggie burger. 2. The ambiance is pretty neat indoor and outdoor. Outside of the architecture and vibes, at least when I went, lots of kids and parents *Taco Tuesday. 3. if you're just looking to have your belly filled, food and adult drinks can be placed to go. Spent $25.00 for meal, not including tip.
F C — Google review
These were perhaps the best tacos I have ever had, and the menu was expansive so there was truly something for everyone. We particularly loved the black beans (even a baby and the meat loyalists gobbled these up!). Wish we were from the area so we could go back…!

Tonic is a stylish and breezy establishment located near Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall. Despite opening during the pandemic, the restaurant has thrived under the leadership of experienced chef Christopher D'Avino. Emphasizing seasonal and sustainable cuisine, Tonic takes pride in sourcing its ingredients from local farmers and producers.
I came in for a quiet brunch at the bar on a Saturday and was met with friendly staff and delicious food. The fried chicken sandwich was delish and light and airy with a challah bun and the crispiest chicken breading and my Bloody Mary had house pickled veggies. I’m looking forward to coming back to try the double smash burger next time!
Rosa-Anna W — Google review
We came in for dinner this Sunday and left disappointed. The main issue was my wife's chicken was burnt and overcooked. Not blackened, it was completely burnt on the outside. You couldn't even taste anything except burnt skin. My phone was dead so unfortunately I couldn't get a picture. The fact that the expo, cook, and server sent this out, we decided we had no confidence to ask for a replacement from the staff. There restaurant was almost empty at the time, so it's not like they were slammed. The rockfish was good at least or I would have given them 1 star. The pickled shrimp was pretty disappointing as well. No flavor, there was 1 pepper slice in the dish and just shrimp with, and saltine crackers for $14. Maybe the dish just wasn't for me but I wasn't too upset about that until they served us the burnt chicken. The servers were nice, drinks were okay. The atmosphere is nice outdoors ,but I definitely would not return.
Seadevil _ — Google review
I really struggled whether not to give this place a three-star rating or a two-star rating mostly because the portions were ridiculously small especially for the price. I ordered the shrimping grits it was $26 and it was like the portion size of an appetizer My wife ordered a salmon sandwich and there was more bread than salmon and I literally left hungry. Flavor of the food was okay he was fine it just wasn't enough of it and I'm not saying that you have to serve so much that someone's taking home dinner for the next night but I shouldn't leave hungry at any price. One thing that really got me which was just sort of threw me off a little bit was the hose was really adamant about people having reservations then was make it seem as if us not having reservations was going to be a big issue when there was literally one couple at the restaurant at the time I mean one other couple there and he was saying that there were some 6:00 reservations but we arrived at 5:00 technically 5:09 because I checked my watch. When we receded and eating another couple came and sat down and they didn't like where they were seated so they got up to move to another seat like two tables over and the guy came over and said oh no you can't move we have reservations and that don't mess up the seating or something to that effect and it seemed really really odd and overly aggressive considering that there was virtually no one there. By the time we left which was right around 6:00 there were a few people that started to come in but even after we had walked around for a big got dessert and came back it wasn't like the place was jam packed there was still plenty of seating in the place and I was sitting outdoors there was plenty of seating outdoors and for what I saw There was no one sitting indoors. I have to say I would not go back here The food was just okay the prices were high considering the amount of food that you got if I received a full-size normal portion that had me not leaving hungry I would have been fine with the dollar amount but because of the small amount of food I felt like it was way overpriced. I will say though I had a nice brown ale that was cold and good I mean it's hard to go wrong with a nice cold beer.
Lawrence D — Google review
Glad we stopped at this establishment. We only had a drink and appetizer (feta spread with grilled bread) but loved the outdoor atmosphere and friendly service. There is also indoor seating. Feta spread was nicely flavored with lemon zest.
Patty C — Google review
What a great outdoor space , great location , good service . But, oh my goodness , food was incredibly disappointing . There are 2 “main” salads on the menu - at 6:00 PM , one was no longer available . I had the eggplant sandwich - it was good , open faced but certainly not a portion that would feed a heartier appetite . Very over priced for what it was . I would recommend going for a cocktail , maybe a small plate app but def not for dinner . Really a shame as a wonderful space
Windy F — Google review
We've had several delicious meals at Tonic - we absolutely love the snack boards to start, and the ever-changing entrees are a hit every time - definitely appreciate the shift with the seasons. Plenty of gluten free options and the variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is much appreciated. The outdoor seating is the cherry on top in nice weather!

Tonic, a hidden gem of Cville? Tonic so far has not failed us. Early in the pandemic it was hit and miss, however we have gone back for brunch and dinner. So, its the kind of place that you should know about. The atmosphere, if you're sitting outdoor, its lovely especially in the fall, spring or winter cool, the cocktails are inventive, and selective. I personal am not a Gin fan, however they do have a different drink for everyone. Tequila, whiskey, vodka and an Aperol spritz. Also, drinks are reasonable for Cville. NOW, the food! Absolutely delicious. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and not your average sandwich. They use a juicy, chicken thigh that’s perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection. I think double or triple breaded. SO MUCH CRUNCH FACTOR like, audible-in-a-quiet-room kind of crunch. The spice level hits a sweet and bold spice, just enough to wake up your taste buds, but balanced. The staff is very nice, however if a large party is there just be prepared, because they do the best they can, with what they have. if you got this far, sorry for no photos. I'm the person that will usually leave my phone at home, so I can have more engaging with my guest. Cheers everyone!

The drink menu is INCREDIBLE. Very crafty, creative, flavorful, and interesting drinks. Definitely the best cocktail menu I have seen they use very high quality ingredients. The food was alright, it was plated very well and the presentation was on point. The food just didn’t live up to the presentation. Overall I will definitely come back here for drinks, but most likely not food.

Guajiros Miami Eatery is a hidden gem in Charlottesville, offering the best Cuban sandwiches in town and a delightful Latin-inspired breakfast menu. Located near the train tracks on West Main Street, this unassuming restaurant boasts a cozy Miami coffee bar where guests can choose from a variety of breakfast and lunch options.
I needed breakfast and wanted something different. This place was not far from the hotel and came well recommended. I was greeted warmly and led to a nice table. The waitress stopped by quickly and also had a friendly greeting. The breakfast menu was wonderful, but my eye went to the Cuban sandwich, which came with warm plantain chips It was delicious 😋 They have a nice selection of hot sauces. I tried a few and they did not disappoint. Friendly folks, good service and tasty food. I will visit again.

Yes and yes! Tried a bit of everything (tapas family style) with the five of us. The drinks well crafted. The food was an experience in itself (so good) and the staff was very attentive. Highly recommend if you are in town.Note: parking can be a challenge

Loved our breakfast here! Service was friendly and quick, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. 10/10, will come back here. Patio seating with games out front, clean bathrooms and plenty of space inside. Parking lot to the side wasn’t full, with one hour parking. Other parking options available with a small walk, but this experience was very smooth from start to finish for us.

Simply incredible, some of the best brunch we've had! Super fun International Sodas and Coffee, tried the Cafe Bombon and it was great. Tostones Rellenos is unique and savory, especially the plantain cup filling, and Chicharron de Cerdo is a flavorful and textural adventure, a must-try for any pork-belly lover! Huevos Guajiros is a truly impeccable dish, a generous helping of the most delicious eggs we've had. Food came out super fast, too, with fast and friendly service to boot! Charming decor and awesome massive window, as well, so glad we stopped in.

From the moment we walked in, we knew this restaurant was special. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between warm and lively—filled with the aroma of slow-cooked meats, garlic, and spices that instantly transport you to Miami. The food is nothing short of phenomenal. The What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. Every staff member was attentive, friendly, and eager to share recommendations, making the entire experience feel personal and welcoming. We’ll be coming back again and again. Highly recommend!

It’s definitely a unique atmosphere, with a lot of Miami and Florida themed decor. We got seated pretty quickly given how large our party was and how busy the place was. The reception waiter was a bit rude though and acted like we couldn’t comprehend basic logic. The El Nacional dish was very good, delicious and good presentation, although I was hoping for bigger servings.

We had been on our way to a different breakfast place near UVA but stumbled upon Guajiros while searching for parking. This was a lucky find! Despite not being especially hungry at first, the menu quickly changed that. The menu, which many have already posted, is a showcase of Cuban comfort food, packed with plantains, pork prepared in several ways, pressed pork and steak sandwiches, beans, rice, eggs, OH MY! It was a whirlwind of food that I don't even remember what any of the dishes were called! So glad we saw the "Open" sign while circling block after block looking for parking! Guajiros turned out to be a perfect and unexpected breakfast spot. The atmosphere was very laid back and service was awesome. Food came much more quickly than expected. I still don't know how the one server was able to handle the entire dining area. She was amazing! Will definitely return if I'm back in Charlottesville again.

Insects, rustling in the leaves and undergrowth, give evidence of springtime waking up around here. It's a good time to visit Iron Paffles & Coffee, where creative puff-pastry waffles with savory and sweet fillings are served. Affordable prices, friendly staff, limited seating - all add up to a great experience at this charming little spot.
First we will start with my daughter who got the "I don't know" from the kids menu. She is a picky eater but she described her chicken as the right amount of salt, seasoning and crispiness. She said the maple syrup add a tasty sweetness to her chicken and her flaky fun paffle. For the adults we enjoyed our breakfast and vegan paffles. I had the vegan with Mac n cheese and there was plenty of filling and the fried tofu was delicious. I read a review that stated it's gets messy. It does but well worth the taste and experience. Would definitely visit again!

Visiting C-Ville and tried this place for breakfast. Puff pastry waffles?! Its AMAZING!!! Light and flaky! This was a million times better than the free hotel breakfast up the road. I got the breakfast paffle with baked Egg, Avocado, Tomato, Spring Mix, and Aioli plus I added chicken sausage for the extra protein 💪🏼. I also stole a bite of my wife’s fried paffle which had fried chicken and honey. Both were insanely good! My only complaint is this place isn’t in my home town. See you again Iron Paffle the next time we are in the area.

My husband and I went here for the first time today and loved everything about the experience! The food is delicious and fairly priced, the atmosphere is chill, and the staff members are inviting. Amanda, the manager, is knowledgeable about the menu and an absolute delight. I highly recommend you patronize this establishment!

First visit, absolutely delicious. Nashville Chicken Paffle, a tofu option as well. The team down here is crushing it, and I don't even like waffles but it was oh soooop good, a nice fluffy and slightly crisp waffle. If you never been, it's an absolute must try. You won't be disappointed.

Anytime I am in Charlottesville I think of this place and had the pleasure of visiting on multiple occasions. It smells great as soon as you walk in the door and they have plenty of savory or sweet options. Great place for breakfast or lunch. I got to enjoy the Nashville hot paffle this last time. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly the Paffles are so flaky and delicious and it brought the heat. I highly recommend

Charlottesville has been a celiac delight and Iron Paffles & Coffee is a large part of the reason! There is a dedicated fryer, a dedicated waffle iron, and almost everything on the menu can be made celiac safe/gluten free. I had a breakfast sandwich with hash browns, bacon & siracha aioli - amazing. We also ordered a canoli waffle and it was just as good. My husband ordered the non-GF Paffle and wont stop talking about how good it was. I can’t wait to come back here!
Katherine H — Google review
The fried chicken with mac paffle is absolutely delish🔥This was my first time trying Iron Paffles and let’s just say I’m so damn glad I did. I’m not even exaggerating, it’s that good! Definitely coming back here someday.
Jewel A — Google review
The ordering process is kind of weird and very impersonal. If its your first time there like it was for me then good luck cause youre on your own! Pretty gimmicky in my opinion. The paffles got soggy quickly no matter what you put on it. If you order your sandwich with any compote on it then they put a malicious amount on and only have small bar napkins. Neither of our cheeses were melted. For two "build your own" breakfast sandwiches we ended up spending $33 total even though we each got maybe 3-4 things on each sandwich. This could be executed much better in so many ways. Disappointing!

First Watch is a popular cafe chain known for its health-conscious breakfast, brunch, and lunch options such as omelets, salads, and soups. The restaurant has gained instant success since opening in Barracks Road Shopping Center in 2019. It offers delicious food with a wide variety of choices and quick service. Customers have praised the friendly and efficient staff who handle large parties with ease. The menu features fluffy pancakes and creamy grits that have received high praise from patrons.
It was a nasty, rainy day and First Watch was the perfect spot. We had reservations at another restaurant, but canceled because there was no place to park. First Watch had great parking, service and the food was amazing. Love the carafe of coffee being left on your table. The Raspberry Ricotta French Toast was superb!

We went for a quick brunch before heading out. Service was quick to seat us on the dog friendly patio out back that was shaded and cool. Drink were quick to come. They are great to get water to the pup. Food was great had the elote burrito and turkey sausage gravy over biscuits. Would try again next time in town.
Sheldon G — Google review
My husband and I went here for breakfast. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The server gave us two menus - the regular one and a seasonal one. I asked her whether the Elote breakfast burrito was good and she said yes. Also, she advised that the seasonal menu would be gone in a few days, so if there was anything we were interested in, we should go ahead and try it before it's gone. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my husband ordered the Elote breakfast burrito. Both items were good. My husband said the burrito had lots of different flavors, and the hollandaise sauce really enhanced the flavors. He’d have liked more of the sauce, lol. He also said it would have tasted even better if the sausage from my shrimp and grits had been in his burrito! The million dollar bacon was really good! We didn't taste any cayenne, but the combination of syrup, pepper, and bacon was wonderful. The only complaint would be the size of the bacon. We thought it was going to be thicker and that the strips were going to be a little longer. My watermelon wake-up was very tasty - wasn't too sweet, but was less sweet than I thought it would be (not a bad thing though). My husband had coffee and he said it was pretty good. Overall for the food, we give a rating of 8 out of 10. What we also enjoyed were the cards you can get from the table by the front door. It was fun asking each other riddles and 'would you rather' questions!!! We had a fun breakfast experience here, and our server was awesome! She checked on us the perfect amount of times (not too little, not too much). I highly recommend this place!

We had a great experience at First Watch! The staff was very nice and welcoming, and even though the restaurant was busy, the wait was surprisingly short, which was a pleasant surprise. Our food was delicious and well-prepared. My husband got an omelet and absolutely loved it. My son ordered the waffle with sausage and couldn’t get enough of the waffle. Both of my daughters had scrambled eggs with sausage and fruit, and they raved about how good the eggs were. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash, and it was so good flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. What I appreciate about this location is that it’s consistent with other First Watch restaurants great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

This is a great place to enjoy a variety for breakfast or lunch. It goes from simple to just about anything you want to try. Great selection of drinks as well. If you’re looking for a great meal give it a try. I tried the tri fecta which was awesome. Got the pancake, eggs, bacon and had a green tea with a piece of cinnamon. Tell where else you can get that for breakfast? Go by and give it a try! You will be glad you did!

Great, freshly prepared food, eggs perfectly cooked. Do not sit at the bar...employees hang out in bar area, browse on their phones and except for the bartender, completely ignore you. Disconcerting to try and eat with 2 employees standing in front of you doing mothing but talking to each other and on their phones. Great great bartender, knows how to engage and serve. Might come back but definitely will sit at a table next time.

Delicious - large servings - everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked tasty. Nice little pot of coffee that stayed decently hot. Lemon ricotta pancakes a nice twist, turkey gravy biscuit and fried potatoes nicely spiced. There is typically a wait. Make a reservation if u can. Went back in Summer again and had a special - strawberry French toast - wow. Tasted like a cinnamon bun. I’m going to dream about this one for a while. Delicious 💕 Recent Summer menu addition Elote breakfast burrito was a thing of beauty and top deliciousness - many different flavors. The strawberry French toast was not a work of art like last Summer, not quite as tasty but nice all the same.

Southern restaurant (US)
Restaurant
Nestled within The Draftsman, an Autograph Collection boutique hotel, The Ridley stands out as Charlottesville's go-to spot for upscale-casual dining and fresh seafood. This restaurant not only offers a delightful culinary experience but also honors Dr. Walter N. Ridley, the first Black graduate of the University of Virginia and a pioneer in education at historically white public universities in the South. A portion of its profits supports the Ridley Foundation, which aids Black students at UVA.
The Ridley offers a mix of strengths and little areas for improvement, but overall, it’s a spot worth visiting, especially for its warm atmosphere and accommodating service. As someone who isn’t a Southern food expert but is quickly becoming a fan, I found this experience enjoyable and eye-opening. The Skillet Cornbread is a standout dish—rich, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The ribeye is cooked to the requested doneness and absolutely delicious, while the lava cake is rich, decadent, and the perfect end to the meal. The Chef’s Seasonal Crème Brûlée is fantastic, with a satisfyingly crunchy crust and a delightful surprise at the bottom. The Oyster Rockefeller is also a highlight, tasting delightfully different from others I’ve tried, with a unique flavor profile that sets it apart. Some dishes could use a bit more refinement. The Fried Wings in Phoenix Rub lack flavor, and while the chicken isn’t notably fresh, it thankfully doesn’t have an off taste. I’m looking forward to trying the maple BBQ rub next time for comparison. The gumbo is decent but not extraordinary, and the blackened salmon is unfortunately dry, which diminishes its potential. But then again, as someone who is not familiar with Southern dishes, they don’t taste bad—they just lack the texture to make them truly memorable. The service is impeccable. The staff is attentive and accommodating, with Lucas standing out for his professionalism and attentiveness. Their hospitality added to the enjoyment of our meal. The Ridley shines in its standout items and excellent service. It’s a place we’ll happily recommend to friends and family visiting the area. Looking forward to our next visit!

Food was good but nothing to rave over. Crab cake was fresh. But the plate was a bit cluttered with sauteed vegetables. No sauce for the crab cake. My friend enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Staff was attentive and nice

We ate both dinner and breakfast here. Two excellent meals! And the service was great! One server, Gail, was a UVA student, engaging and attentive and smart. The supervisor, Twanda, checked on us as we were eating breakfast. We got into a discussion about grits, and upon learning my wife's view of them, RAN into the kitchen to bring her a small bowl of the Ridley's. She has now become a grits fan. My omelet, big enough to feed two, was just cooked to perfection. One item to change . . . the bar's signature Old Fashioned is made with Jim Beam . . . I told the bartender they needed to up their game, and she completely agreed . . . I had Knob Creek in mine. In any case, don't miss a visit here!

My husband and I were scoping out new brunch places and the Ridley is by far the best weve been to in charlottesville. Honor was our server and he was very attentive and sweet. The food and cocktails are some of the best I have ever had. Definitely recommend coming here if you’re ever in the area. Its worth it!

It was our first visit there and a nice experience. The host and waitress made us welcome and answered all questions. We look forward to returning when back in that area.

The Ridley is an understated and cozy place to come to if you're looking for some truly delicious dishes in a laid back lounge atmosphere. The old fashioned is fantastically balanced if you like a slightly sweeter old fashioned, the sweet potato mash has an incredible nutmeg/cinnamon flavor that is just fantastic, and the bourbon street pasta is to die for- expect eye rolling mmmmmmmmms. Truly, one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Also Katherin is a wonderful server, she is attentive, personable, and timely. Thanks Katherin for making our time at The Ridley even better!

Celebrated our 23rd anniversary at the Ridley. Everything was amazing, waiter, Edward was a young man and amazing! He was very patient with us as we figured out our order. Only downside was the greens were spicy (please remove the spicy element.. because the flavor was great!) and our friends didn’t like the deviled eggs. My salmon pasta was simply divine!!!! My husband’s lamb shank was tender and very good. My friend’s husband had the chicken and waffles and he loved it. Great place to eat and we will be back!!!! Atmosphere was elegant and perfect for our anniversary dinner. Great service, meal and ambience!!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️ )
Antoine C — Google review
Not worth the money. Fried green tomatoes were undercooked and under-seasoned, cold on the inside with wet batter and hard exterior. Not worth $17. Pasta had brittle texture and the sauce was really loose. Flavor was good, but the dish was worth maybe $15-18. not the $29 we paid. It goes for $23 total with just chicken or sausage, but we got both and paid extra. Not even close to worth it. Deviled eggs were really good, but basic. Just egg yolk and mayo for filling with a sprinkle of chives and candied bacon on top. Very good flavor, but it was $10 for two eggs (four halves). On the plus side, servers were great and atmosphere was really nice. Fancy with jazz music and open bay door with cool breeze coming in; however, I would not return due to food quality and high price.

Bodo's Bagels is a popular spot in Charlottesville known for its New York-style bagels, sandwiches, salads, and soups. It has become an institution in the area with three locations offering freshly baked bagels throughout the day. The local franchise has garnered a loyal following and is praised for its efficient service despite long lines during peak hours. The retro ambiance adds to the charm of this establishment, making it a nostalgic experience for many customers.
I have been to bodo’s multiple times but always forgot to leave a rating. Always busy, always a line, but the staff is always efficient and reliable too. Cheap and affordable. I love their egg bagels, especially bacon with garlic and sausage with sesame. The plain cream cheese was the most fresh one I have ever had. The whole wheat lox bagel was such a fire! I also loved their strawberry one. Highly recommend!!

Good Gawd! REAL NY BAGELS!!!! In town for work, drove by and had to try it. I got an EVERYTHING 🥯 w smoked turkey, munster 🧀 sprouts, lettuce, mayo & mustard. It was FANTASTIC and way better than any fast food junk you would get for $6 bucks. Going back for breakfast and taking a dozen home... I would highly recommend stopping by and having a nosh! Went back for breakfast today and to pick up some bagels 🥯 to take home! Gotta MONSTER Sausage, egg and cheddar on an everything bagel! Cured my hangover!

They say that their bagels are NY style but I think it’s better! It’s fresh from oven, moist bread with high quality filling. I ate their regular pastrami bagel sandwich and tried custom order smoked salmon sandwich with everything bagel. I have tried both regular and wheat everything bagels, both of them are equally delicious; all the seeds are popped in my mouth while chewing my delicious bites. If you are near by don’t miss it!

I would say the best part of this place is the value. Im not sure if other places in this area are similarly priced, but as someone from DC area, I could not imagine being able to get a bagel for $1 anymore and a sandwich for ~$5. When we arrived the line was out the door and when we left it was even longer. But the line moved quickly and the overall time wasn't too bad. The breakfast and chicken salad sandwiches were good. I would say I have had bagels and bagel sandwiches I liked better but not anywhere close to this price, at least not since a very long time.

We all liked Bodo's bagels. I had an egg w/sausage with everything bagel and all was very fresh and yummy. Also tried pastrami sandwich w/plain and strawberry cream cheese w/plain - really liked all we tried and certainly will be back. Sunday noon was really busy.

Best bagels south of New Jersey/New York! I’ve been here a few times and have never left disappointed. The cream cheese and bagels are legit! The coffee is not pretentious and goes well with the meal. My only complaint is that they don’t toast the bagels, but their freshness makes up for it.
William C — Google review
If you haven't had a Bodo's bagel, you haven't had the best bagels on the planet! There's a delicious reason this establishment has been going strong for almost 40 years. They offer a vast number of bagel flavors, from plain to sweet to savory. My personal favorite for a bagel sandwich is their onion bagel. There's a wide array of fresh and gratifying sandwich fixings and yummy spreads. They also have flavorful sides, such as salads, fruit, and soups. Everything is ALWAYS very fresh. We arrived at lunchtime, and the restaurant was packed with hungry customers. There was a long line, but it moved very quickly because their staff is like a well-oiled machine and super efficient. We ordered sandwiches to go and were in and out within 15 minutes. The prices are wonderfully affordable. My chicken salad on onion bagel was out-of-this-world delightful; the perfect cool meal for a blistering hot summer day. As always, the most satisfying breakfast, lunch, or dinner under $10 that you'll find anywhere!

Neither me nor my wife like the bagel sandwiches here. I think it's popular because it's inexpensive. The sandwiches lacked flavor. Stingy with both avocado and mayo. Even Panera Bread is better. It could be just us because the place is really popular.

Mel's Cafe is a casual local spot in Charlottesville, Virginia that serves up delicious Southern comfort food such as BBQ and fried chicken. It's an old-school, soul-food diner with a friendly vibe and reasonable prices. The cafe is known for its fried donut and fried chicken, which are highly recommended by patrons. The staff at Mel's impress with their sublime service - kind, quick-witted, and genuinely grateful.
A Gem in Charlottesville: Mel's After attending a show at the Paramount, the host raved about Mel's, highlighting its delicious food and reasonable prices, and the sold-out audience wholeheartedly agreed. This sparked a realization for me: despite hearing countless praises about Mel's over my decade in Charlottesville, I had never dined there. Today, I finally remedied that. From the moment I stepped in, the counter staff impressed me with their sublime service—kind, quick-witted, and genuinely grateful. We ordered two classics: the BBQ sandwich and the Philly steak with cheese, accompanied by sides of mac and cheese and stuffing with gravy. These dishes were pure comfort on plates, enjoyed in the charming outdoor setting on West Main. If, like me, you've delayed visiting this quiet, unassuming, and quaint-looking establishment, make time to experience the superlative food and service at Mel's. Highly recommended and strongly encouraged. Don't miss out!

My husband got the hamburger melt and fries My chicken dinner was the star of the show! This might be the best fried chicken I've ever had! The mac and cheese was excellent! The fried potatoes with onions and cornbread were like from my mom. The ambiance is like a little eight table diner and very homey with lots of pictures. The service was excellent. You go to the window to place your order and they bring it to your table. After you eat you pay as you're leaving. I will definitely be going back on my visits to see my cousin in North Carolina. And the prices cannot be beat. The menu is current from January 2, 2024. I wouldn't mind trying other things on their menu at all, but all I want is their chicken from now on so I'll have to talk my husband into getting something else so I can taste from his plate too. That chicken was so crispy and delicious and juicy inside. Just excellent!

Wonderful old-school cafe a short distance from UVA Hospital. I have walked past a few times recently and wanted some of the finest comfort food in town. Service with a smile. I got a Philly steak with onions and added peppers and mushrooms. Perfect size and the taste and bread were good. Also ordered some mac & cheese and coleslaw. Both were good but the slaw was better. I want to get the chicken next time for sure and eat there. Cost per person is very reasonable with dinners available for approximately $11.

A little treasure. It's probably been there forever. The staff was very kind and patient. The fried chicken was delicious and the sides cabbage, cornbread, Mac n cheese (dry n sticky vs. wetness gooey) was sooo delicious. The pork chops with gravy was a winner too as well as sweet potato pie and lemon pound cake!! Would love to try everything!@

While touring Monticello, we worked up an appetite for lunch. Hit the Google, and found Mel's was open and had great reviews, so we head to downtown. The reviews were spot on. The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful, and had a nice, crispy crust. The Mac and cheese was very good. The stewed tomato's were oddly sweet, so not a favorite. The small burger was cooked perfectly and the added bacon was nice and crispy. The homemade pulled pork had a nice flavor, not too much sauce, and topped with crispy slaw, a nice touch. Both were served on toasted buns. The fries were fresh, cooked just right, and seasoned to perfection. This place is a hole in the wall, but the food is prepared with love!

Today we ate at Mel's Café. We were welcome by a very high energy and knowledge waitress. She gave great service with loving humor which we enjoyed. Now the food was off the chain, if don't know what that means, the food was delicious. My girlfriend and I did not know what to eat first. Mel's was just the place we were looking for, local owner, great food and great atmosphere.

A true gem!! We came into town for a concert & always prefer a non-chain place to eat. Mel's was nearby and had good reviews so we decided to try. It did not disappoint!! Everyone was very friendly, food came fast and had the perfect portion. If you like home cooked southern dining, this is your place. The fried chicken was perfection. We also got the Mac & cheese, green beans, country ham, hamburger steak, coleslaw, stewed tomatoes. There was not a single complaint. It was like eatting at your southern country raised grandmothers house for Sunday dinner. We are already planning our next trip back.

We headed over craving some delicious breakfast fare, and a nice relaxing atmosphere. The first impression was fine, the hostess who seated us was an extremely pleasant man. The place had a basic small town diner vibe with nothing special to set it apart from other mom and pop type eateries. I was a bit surprised at the limited offerings on the menu. I ordered the bacon and Swiss omlette, which was a 3 egg omlette with your choice of bread/toast. and My son ordered the Super big complete breakfast which consisted of eggs, a meat choice, hash browns, bread choice, a small juice, and coffee. Our waitress was okay, not friendly, but not rude, just someone going through the motions of her daily grind. I was dubious when our plates arrived, they were very unappealing. My omlette was extremely dry, and my English muffin was burned on the outside, but doughy in the middle. The omlette had so much bacon in it, that salt and bacon was all you could taste, there was barely any Swiss cheese at all, and it was overcooked and rubbery. My son had the same problem with his english muffin as I did. He said his food was okay. I ate as much of the omlette as I could manage to choke down, which was maybe a third. My son who has a big appetite did not finish his meal either. Considering that the portions were very small, that kind of sums it up. I was sadly disappointed. Our dining experience was nothing even remotely close to the yummy homey local gem the website portrayed. Total cost after tip $37.49! A sad waste of hard earned money.

We liked coming here with friends. But things changed one day! After that we have not returned nor would we recommend this restaurant!!! Enjoyed our meal with our friends that day. Two of us ordered hot chocolate. It was so delicious, we asked for a 2nd cup. The waitress gave us a new cup. I get to the bottom of my cup and I see one to two sugar substitute packets in the bottom of my cup! 🤢🤮 I thought I was going to throw up!! I got up to tell the waitress and a manager. He tried to make light of the situation which was not nice! He said the cup was washed. But if it was that didn't matter. I DRANK ALL THE HOT CHOCOLATE OUT THE CUP AND THERE WAS TRASH AT THE BOTTOM OF MY CUP!!! What didn't he understand I thought? I felt like it wasn't washed. Thinking of my mouth being on a cup someone else used. Their trash at the bottom and the waitress NOT looking inside the cup. It was and IS GROSS!!! I expressed how sick I felt about it. I went back to my table, told my friends. I didn't want to ruin their meal. But it was soooo hard to sit there and not think about it. As well as remembering management didn't really seem to care! When we got up to pay the same manager came up and said he would take care of the charge for my meal. We haven't returned! No plans to. Our friends love the place, but we don't recommend this restaurant!

I had such a wonderful experience at Villa Diner! The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. My waitress, Kaitlin, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The host staff was also incredibly friendly — on our second visit, the host even gave my daughter a lollipop, which absolutely made her day! I enjoyed it so much that I came back the next day with my sister and daughter before heading back home out of state. Villa Diner has a welcoming atmosphere, great service, and food that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend!

I’ve been here many times, this is easily the best, most hospitable breakfast place in Charlottesville. Definitely get there early on the weekends because everyone loves this place, so there is usually a short wait. Even with a wait, they’re so quick in every aspect of their service. Anytime friends or family visit, we always make sure to bring them by here.

My favorite breakfast diner in Charlottesville! Tried and true breakfast favorites at a reasonable price. I've always felt well taken care of when I eat here. I've tried most of the breakfast menu and have enjoyed everything. My favorite is The Deluxe.

The restaurant was completely full on a Wednesday afternoon. However, we were seated within a few minutes. Arianna was very present and sweet. Our food was adequately priced and delicious. Definitely recommend.

Great diner! Reasonable prices, breakfast is hot, fresh ingredients, eggs nice and fluffy(not powdered or premade). The biscuits are warm, tasty! Tables fill up quickly in the morning, get there early or expect brief wait, but it is worth it Friendly, prompt service!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of downtown Charlottesville, The Bebedero offers a delightful escape into the world of elevated Mexican cuisine. With a menu that draws inspiration from diverse Mexican flavors, this charming spot is perfect for those looking to indulge in something special. Their weekend brunch is a highlight, complemented by an enticing cocktail menu that promises to refresh your spirits. The ambiance is enhanced by art programming, making it not just a dining experience but also a cultural one.
OH MY! This place is a go-to for Mexican food! We are from St Louis and these margaritas are the best! Reminds me of silver coin margarita from Santa Fe New Mexico! Not yucky sweet... Just super delish! By the way ... the food is great too!

There was a live musician, and an artistic decor, The bar set up nicely and neatly. The menu is well put together with traditional Mexican dishes. We ordered two main courses. The food was great. But what stood out was the smoked, naked chicken wings. I am going back for more of the wings tonight.

I came here with a large group, and everyone really enjoyed both the food and the drinks. The service kept up well with our party, and the atmosphere made it easy for everyone to have a good time. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a place that works well for groups and delivers on quality.

This location has moved but still at the mall. Love the vibe and decor when you enter. You can make reservations but even if online states that you cant make one, call the restaurant to verify. I showed up to see if they had tables available, and there many available, no reservation needed. The Camarones Quesa Tacos were very moist and outright the best shrimp tacos I have. They do not skimp on the meat either like other places. Suadero tacos had some spice, mild to normal people and fire to sensitive taste buds. Food is full of flavor. Just the right amount alcohol in the margaritas. Limonada is straight from the squeeze. Would definitely go back. Yucca fries are delicious and the right amount of softness but you'll definitely need some sauce with them because if you plan on eating the entire side by yourself, they get a little thick.
KJ S — Google review
Had a reservation so there was no wait. Guacamole and salsa is fantastic. Yucca fries were okay. The suadero, shrimp and steak tacos were all really good. The place is pretty lively and I would not recommend for a quiet dining. There was a group at the bar that was pretty loud and for second I thought I was at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Must stop when in Charlottesville. I came after 10, late night menu did not disappoint. Birria Tacos were incredible and they have Happy Dad! Micah was an A+ host behind the bar and kudos to the rest of the team working tonight.

Sat at the bar and had the Kiss me through the foam drink, which was tasty and satisfying, a grande margarita, ceviche, empanadas, enchiladas suizuas. Food was better than I remembered—quality was high, flavor combinations on standard dishes were inventive and honestly, I was licking my plate. Presentation was very appealing. Well done kitchen! Had been there a few other times but this was most memorable.

Bakery
Nestled in a charming shopping center, Cou Cou Rachou is a delightful French patisserie that celebrates the essence of local flavors through its exquisite pastries and artisanal breads. This culinary gem takes pride in sourcing seasonal organic ingredients from Charlottesville's finest purveyors, resulting in innovative treats like croissants infused with local goat cheese and sweet pea or peach-blueberry almond swirls adorned with edible flowers.
À french Bakery with delicious Pastry and almond croissant. Service and be on the chill/slow side, but not an issue if you stay awhile. Lots of seating outside when the weather is nice. Beautiful, country decor and furniture inside. Their almond croissant is heavy, has a crunch to it and tasted like it was soaked in orange syrup. So good!!!
Nola — Google review
Coucou rachou makes some impressive pastries, especially love their cardamom braid and their rotating beignets, which you cannot find anywhere else in Charlottesville. For that reason I definitely think coucou is the best bakery in town with no competition that even comes close. Only 1 pastry at Marie Bette (brioche feuillete?) even comes close. Unfortunately Coucou’s espresso drinks service just falls flat and has been falling flat for years at this point. They should just entirely abandon their espresso drinks and just do black coffee, and do it right. Most times I’ve gone there, the espresso drinks are tasteless like tap water and arrive 15 minutes after you pick up your pastry. Clearly they have a problem training baristas and that’s understandable and ok, but don’t make me spend high quality coffee money for this. I’d skip the espresso drinks entirely or go in with the thought that it will be a hit or miss and surely will arrive late. This time I got a cappuccino that looks like the attached picture after waiting for 20 mins. The milk wasn’t even steamed. In contrast, look at the great ice cream I got another time I was here.
Anya S — Google review
Once upon a time I saw someone's Instagram story and a few clicks later I was reading Cou Cou Rachou's daily menu with spice bush beignets (at that time.) The rotating beignets kept me hooked and in those early days they ran out and I tried pain suisse, kouign amans, and more. This review is long overdue but between keeping my French brushed up trying to remember the words in the ever changing danishes and scones, and providing treats to share with family, friends and coworkers I am never not impressed. Lines are understandably long, but once you see what the fuss is about you will understand the wait. Whether it's carry out, dine in, or picking up holiday orders you will never be disappointed here. The pop up markets are so fun too as someone who loves to shop small and local!
Laura K — Google review
An adorable French bakery cafe where you can see them prepping food so you know everything is made in house and fresh! The interior is lovely with some seating inside and outside although limited. I went within an hour of closing but there were still some items to choose from thankfully. I purchased a chocolate croissant for $7 and it was delightfully light, soft but with the texture of the many layers it was baked with. The chocolate wasn’t too sweet but had enough chocolate where I’m not looking for it. The staff are incredibly friendly and sweet. The parking lot was a great bonus. I’ll be back to try more items on their menu!

Can’t say enough about Cou Cou Rachou- has become my “go-to” spot on Sunday mornings. The pastries are can’t miss, especially the caneles, croissants, and double choc cookies- all to be enjoyed on their covered back porch, year-round. The staff is amazingly welcoming and greet me and my service dog like we are both members of the family. So many things to try, so little time!

Cute and cozy bakery and coffee shop. Coffee (cortado, cappuccino and latte) was very good. Went for gluten free goodies for my daughter and they had 4 options. GF apple muffins and chocolate cookies were the best, other 2 we tried were just okay if a bit on the overly sweet side. Cardamom croissant was very good, light and fluffy, but could definitely use more cardamom flavor. Was most disappointed with the almond croissant - it was very heavy, dense and oily and pretty much inedible for me. Would’ve asked to swap for something else but we did takeaway so could not.

Drove 9h from Indy and stopped here before checking in to our hotel. Got there about 40 minutes before they closed so the selection was limited. Got the chocolate almond raspberry croissant and it was awesome. We decided to stop by the next morning on our way to Monticello and order a bunch of other good pastries. They had a strawberry version instead of the raspberry version the next day. IMO the raspberry version was 10x better. The other pastries were just as delicious. My boys loved the chocolate croissant because it was soooo buttery. The staff were super friendly and the environment was cute and clean.

Bodo's Bagels is a local favorite in Charlottesville, offering New York-style bagels and a variety of customizable breakfast and sandwich options. Founded by Brian Fox in 1988, this establishment has become an essential part of the city's dining scene. With three locations, Bodo's serves over 6,000 people a day with its freshly baked bagels that don't even need toasting. The menu includes 10 different bagel options and an array of toppings to create personalized orders.
If you’re in Charlottesville, you have to stop at Bodo’s Bagels! We tried the egg salad with bacon on an onion bagel and the chicken (turkey) salad with cheese on a garlic bagel—both were delicious. The bagel flavors were spectacular and really brought everything together. The salads themselves aren’t heavily seasoned, which I actually prefer—it lets you adjust the flavor exactly to your liking. Just a heads-up: during rush hour, the space can get pretty cramped with people waiting, but the staff keeps things moving fast and efficiently. Local, tasty, and always worth the stop—Bodo’s lives up to the hype!

The bagels are moist, freshly made , and delicious. They have a variety of schmears and bagels. You can order any protein to make a sanwich. I happen to order their pastrami with egg and cheese. Absolutely worth every cent. They allow you to customize any sandwich with different condiments, cheeses, or spreads. Their are 3 different locations. All of them are in Charlottsville. You will not regret stopping by.
Michelle L — Google review
I recently visited the Bodo’s on Preston and ordered a bagel to go. When I got home, I was horrified to find a huge clump of hair baked right into my food. It was absolutely revolting. For a restaurant with such a great reputation, this shows shockingly low standards of cleanliness and food safety. I even left a voicemail for management, but never received a response. I hope management takes this as a wake-up call to fix their health practices immediately.

Staple of C-ville, Bodo's has the best bagels around. Love the jalapeno lime cream cheese on everything or onion bagel. Pro tip, if you're taking out and weather is nice, take your food over to the Rotunda near by at UVA for a great place to sit and have a bite.

I love this place! The bagels are delicious and flavorful, and always cooked perfectly, and the bagel sandwich options are extensive. They're very busy during breakfast and lunch hours, but don't let long lines discourage you too much - they are very efficient. With a line out the door, I've been in and out in 10 minutes with special order sandwiches.

The Nook is a long-standing eatery located in downtown Charlottesville, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options. Known for its all-day diner classics and American comfort food, this bustling spot has been a favorite among locals for over three generations. The menu is filled with familiar breakfast dishes and other American favorites, served with a smile by the friendly staff. Whether you're craving pancakes for the kids or a hearty breakfast for yourself, The Nook provides a casual dining experience at reasonable prices.
I had the Kimchi burger and I hope they make that a permanent addition to the menu! The kimchi had just right amount of spice, the bacon was perfect in flavor and texture! The cheddar cheese was also very flavorful! The sauce was also very delicious! The fries were also very good. I am excited to return to pick up our daughter or drop her back off to school so I can get another burger!

Great spot for a meal & to visit. They serve all day breakfast choices- friends enjoyed veggie omelet with potatoes, onions & peppers… while the other had the classic with fresh blueberries added on top of pancakes. I enjoyed a special - fish tacos with mango salsa- delicious! Generous portions & nice staff.

Came here with my wife for lunch and sat outside in the patio area. I got the meatloaf sandwich and it was solid, I wouldn’t say it was mindblowing but it was good. My wife got the chorizo breakfast bowl and it was massive and she was happy with it. There was also a random man playing the saxophone outside not connected to the restaurant that was kind of nice. The inside area also looked cool though we did not eat there.

••FULL MENU AVAILABLE ALL DAY•• Extensive menu of food options that are inclusive of dietary restrictions. I appreciate the rainbow flag at the bar as well as the "ANYBODY" sign on the bathroom door. The place might benefit from having a changing table in the bathroom (maybe to the left of the paper towels) because currently there is no fold-down table option for changing diapers. Pricing is a tad bit high if you are hoping for a more affordable place to go, but the portions are decent and the experience of going downtown and having a more relaxed morning--especially if you get the luxury of eating outside, make it worth the money. Check the back of the menu for kids menu and weekly specials!

I recently dined at The Nook, located in the historic downtown mall of Charlottesville, and it was a delightful experience. The outdoor seating area was clean and inviting, with a thoughtful water bowl for dogs, making it a perfect spot for pet owners. The standout dish was the Berries & Cream Stuffed French Toast—classic artisan bread filled with sweet mascarpone cream cheese and macerated strawberries, all topped with a blueberry-strawberry medley. It was, without a doubt, the best French toast I’ve ever had: perfectly cooked and deliciously sweet. The service was exceptional, with our waitress being incredibly friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a charming brunch spot with fantastic food and a welcoming atmosphere, The Nook is a must-visit.

Have been here before and had a great breakfast. Today however the food was bad. Pancakes didn't taste good, biscuits and gravy were disconnected in the flavors and very butter forward. The charizo bowl was lack luster too. Our waitress was super sweet and nice but the lady at the door who we asked for the check from didn't even apologize when we said the food wasn't good and to please have the check. Except for our waitress the staff looked beat down and not happy to be there. Kind of like the food lol. I hope they turn it around, this used to be pretty tasty for breakfast

We picked here without knowing much about it. There was a small wait to be seated. The food was excellent. The menu is fun. Not wild but different and the items that may seem simple are prepared excellently, making for an excellent experience. The space is beautiful. We thought the prices were reasonable. We absolutely look forward to eating here again.

Such a great spot for some classic (and not so classic) breakfast food. Who can say no to a breakfast burrito that also has tater tots in it?? Great experience overall. The employees at the front desk were fantastic. They were very helpful and understanding - thank you. The cleaning staff did forget to clean my room 1 night, but that wasn’t too big of a deal. The location was perfect, and I appreciated the early/mid-twentieth century decor, lounging spaces, & water refill stations. I would 100% stay again!

We were looking for a quick one night getaway, and Oakhurst looked super cute online! Check in was quick and the staff was helpful. We had to pay for valet, but I then read there's free parking in the circle? If we had known that was an option we would have parked ourselves. We were given a room upgrade which gave us additional space that we greatly appreciated! The room itself lacked luster and was overall just okay. We were given stained towels and our bedsheets had multiple rips/holes. We were told check out was at 11am and after getting in late we slept in, I was in the shower a little after 9am and room service comes in to start cleaning the room! After realizing we were still there they did leave, but this left me feeling very uncomfortable. We quickly packed up our things and checked out. We felt the hotel was extremely over priced given our experience.

This is a quiet oasis in a now-bustling, formerly sleepy town. As close to the University as one could get. Friendly staff, capable bartender, live jazz, excellent cafe. Sure, it's quirky, and that is part of the charm. Kudos to staff and management who quickly and fairly resolved an issue with the room.
Gary G — Google review
Beautiful hotel with unique charm! Every staff member we interacted with was beyond pleasant. The heated pool, sauna, and live jazz made for the most relaxing evening. Our room was spacious and had many windows. Our room smelled musty, but this is kind of expected with an old building.
Anna — Google review
Overall, the experience was okay. The bar was not open but it was advertised that it would be until 9. The room was smaller than expected. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so it was damp. The A/C unit was leaking water and turned off in the early hours of the morning. There were dead bugs in the light. The blinds didn't work. The staff forgot 2 times that there was a late check out. The staff was overall pleasant and helpful.

Spent $600 to be put in a basement room. The bedroom windows looked out onto a wall/alley, no natural light or view at all. No glassware or mini fridge in the room. Maybe other rooms are nicer but the one I got was definitely not worth the exorbitant price and I don’t think rooms should vary that significantly.
Kiera M — Google review
The rooms had a beautiful boutique aesthetic, everything was very clean and organized. The staff was *amazing* (shout-out to Lauren and Eric for the lovely conversation) and that's not even mentioning the location. They offer a diverse menu that includes breakfast and lunch options, served all day until 3:00 PM. The restaurant prides itself on its fresh in-house bread and innovative, delicious dishes prepared with great attention to detail. Customers rave about the exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere, whether dining inside the aesthetically pleasing interior or enjoying the shade outside.
My family stumbled upon the place looking for something to eat due to our original plans not panning out and man were we all so happy for it. This spot is an absolute gem. The tater grits were smacking. My sister who doesn't even like grits loved them. The sandwiches were amazing. Everyone loved their meals and we were already trying to figure out if we could come again during this trip. The best part of the experience was the service. Couldn't of been a kinder group of people. Wish I could come here more truly

Delicious food, fantastic service and I appreciate the attention to detail about my food allergy. The grits tots are a game changer - my husband doesn’t usually eat grits - but these cubes of scrumptiousness won him over.
Sharon L — Google review
The best restaurant in Charlottesville- I want to say that right out of the gate for anyone trying to figure out where to go and doesn't want to read a long review, so go, go now. Order the turkey sandwich, or the Italian. The menu names are over-the-top creative- a conceit I grew weary of twenty years ago- but this food is so good that it can bear the weight of my world-weary cynicism and I can order a sandwich called "The drum fill form In the Air Tonight" with more than just a straight face, but with an eager smile. The options are not simple- there is nary an offering that doesn't sport half a dozen components, but before you start trying to edit the text, just give it a read the way it's intended. These people know what they're doing. It's not just food they're making, it's culinary poetry. Now the details. My first five times at this place were carry-out at work, and five times in a row I had exclaimed, "this is the best sandwich in Charlottesville," and later, in all honestly, "This is the best sandwich I've ever had!" I am not being hyperbolic. I truly believe it. The ingredients colorful, even jarring, almost peacocking to see which one is either the more luxurious or the more madcap (bologna I'm looking at you). But I'll paraphrase the song "The Waters of March," IT'S THE BREAD, IT'S THE BREAD. The bread, made in-house with what must be oppressive regularity to the baker, is rich and aromatic, delicate and hearty at the same time, and it holds up to both the fireworks show of ingredients and to any of the sandwiches' residual moisture content (carryout people, you know the sorrow wet bread- here it's a bonus). The restaurant is pristine in the way only a new place can be, but it's maintained. I went in right after the brunch rush and it might as well have been freshly opened. Bathrooms- top notch. Finally staff- as I said we came in after what was likely a busy Sunday brunch, but the entire FOH was involved, efficient and ran the floor with an informal teamwork that was- to this industry vet- a delight to see. As first time dine-in-ers we were given some extra attention but it was never more than was welcome. Finally- great drinks! Strong, pretty drinks! This review has gone on long enough, and I hesitated to write it. I dread the day I have to wait in line for my favorite restaurant, but better wait in line for an AJ Soprano (yep), than to never have one again. You have been warned. BEST RESTAURANT IN CHARLOTTESVILLE.

The Grit tots are crisped perfectly on the outside, and not over-seasoned. They maintain their grit essence while elevating the holy southern grit to new heights, and this is elevated by the pepper jelly they’re served with. Highly recommend.

Chocolate matcha power ball tastes like a decadent moist cake ball yet somehow it’s healthy?!?! I’m certainly not going to check but I can’t recommend it enough. The Blue Ridge Berry Smoothie was kind of flavorless tho not enough fruit or too much spinach/avocado diluting taste - I would get a diff smoothie or customize one

Fantastic food; ordering apps that work seamlessly, incredible efficiency, friendly staff. An amazing dining experience! A wee bit pricey, but high-quality food, so worth it IMO.

I was looking for a healthy breakfast after my cycle workout and this was absolute perfection. I had the avocado toast with lox (they even have gluten free options, which I had) with a smoothie. It was delightful and the ambiance is super fresh. Go experience it for yourself :-)

Bang! is a charming restaurant in Charlottesville, VA that offers a cozy atmosphere with stylish decor and a backlit bar. The menu features Asian-inspired tapas and inventive martinis, catering to various dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The concept of sharing plates encourages interaction, making it an ideal spot for a date night.
Went for restaurant week in a group of 4 so we had 12 dishes. It was so much food. Favs were tuna crispy rice, chili garlic chicken noodles, tempura sweet potatoes, Korean beef spring rolls and duck ravioli. Update: Was there last weekend for a date night and it was amazing! I usually sit outside but we sat inside this time and the vibe was good. We ordered way too much food for two people 5 plates and 2 buns, we were stuffed and had a little food to take home. The service was good, sometimes it can be hard to get more drinks or water but we didn’t have that problem this time. Our favs this time were the tofu bun, firecracker shrimp and tuna crispy rice.
Zoe G — Google review
The service was great for sure. The food was complicated. The cauliflower was too greasy and oily… kinda ironic as a vegetarian tapas. The firecracker shrimp was pretty good, so was the Thai chicken spring rolls. We also tried the Duck noodles. It’s kinda interesting to use oyster sauce and duck at the same dish, but not bad, I really liked the noodle texture.
Caimiao L — Google review
Nice spot and very vegetarian friendly! Great flavors, each dish packs a punch. Service was fast and efficient.

Absolutely loved our evening! The steamed buns were perfectly soft and flavorful, and the tapas were creative, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every dish was a treat, and the cozy, vibrant atmosphere added to the experience. Service was attentive and friendly too. A must-visit if you're in Charlottesville and love trying a variety of bold flavors!

We had a fantastic Sunday dinner at Bang! The food and drinks were excellent. We ordered from the vegetarian menu and tried the Mushroom and Sesame Tofu Buns (mushroom was the standout), General Tso Cauliflower, Goat Cheese Dumplings, and Tempura Sweet Potatoes with Feta—all were delicious. Mango Mule and Bourbon Ginger Honey cocktails were strong and tasty. For dessert, the key lime cheesecake had a nice subtle lime flavor and it was pretty good Our server, Cameron, was helpful and provided great service. We sat outdoors and place had nice decor. Highly recommend!

great place for tapas!! every dish was yummy, and so were the drinks. i would definitely try the baos here (fried chicken bao was surprisingly good), the dumplings, and the noodle dishes.

We had an amazing experience at Bang! They had so many vegetarian options, actually a dedicated menu section for it, which we particularly enjoyed! Shout out to Cameron, who took great care of us and was forthcoming with suggestions. We tried Mushroom and Sesame Tofu Buns, General Tso Cauliflower, Goat Cheese Dumplings, Tempura sweet potatoes. All the food was amazing!! The cocktails were unbelievably good and really strong! They do not skimp!!! We tried the Not your Mother’s Mule and Bourbon Ginger Honey. Both were top! Key Lime Cheesecake was delicious too for dessert. Would highly recommend..

I love bang. I tell everyone it's one of my favorite restaurants. I'm leaving a bad review, because I'm here and the dining room is full and one girl is working the floor by herself. I also own a restaurant and I understand that payroll is difficult but it's pretty frustrating to not be able to get waited on (I had to go and find her after being ignored for about 15 minutes), not be able to get a check (come find her when I'd ask for the check 10 minutes ago) when I ask for a check. I'm here for the Film fest, and they can know months in advance when the film fest is going to be and have appropriate staff. I understand that they can pay them $2.19 or whatever and have them work the floor and put all the money into the kitchen staff, but it's pretty frustrating from a customer's perspective. I am leaving a bad review even though I love the restaurant because I want the owners to see this. I want to come to bang! every time I come to Charlottesville because it's cool. I like the vibe. But eventually . . . I won't come.

Ace Biscuit & Barbecue is a humble yet noteworthy BBQ spot that offers breakfast platters, sandwiches, and local beer along with their from-scratch sauces. The restaurant is known for its succulent fried chicken with a crisp buttermilk crust, featured in the popular dish called the Dirty Biscuit. This laid-back eatery provides generous portions of traditional Southern comfort food, including buttermilk biscuits stacked with smoked meats, classic pulled pork, and fall-off-the-bone ribs.
Great breakfast or lunch spot! Chicken and waffles and an ACE biscuit hit the spot. Super friendly staff. Checks all the boxes. Recommended by me and worth another visit in the near future.
Chuck S — Google review
I hate to say it because I was expecting more but it was gross. I had the old dirty; There was absolutely zero flavor. The chicken was dry, the breading was overwhelmingly thick and falling off, and all I could taste was pepper. Absolutely zero seasoning. The fries weren't cooked all the way and were barely seasoned, I couldn't eat them and gave them to my husband. He ordered the Cuban. He said it was ordinary, nothing to right home about. He ordered extra meat and if that was extra, there must be no meat on the sandwich because it was skinny. Overall it was extremely expensive being as we paid 40$ for a chicken thigh and the smallest pork sandwich of anyone's life. I would not recommend stopping for food.
Daisy D — Google review
We're in town for our son's baseball tournament so we took our food to go, but it was a cool atmosphere inside and we would have enjoyed dining in. From the second we walked through the door the staff was welcoming and friendly. They have homemade sauces and took time to talk to me about them. We ordered breakfast: biscuits and gravy and a sausage breakfast burrito. Both dishes were so good. The burrito has potatoes in it and they were delicious, and so was the sausage! The portions were very generous. I'm looking forward to going back next time we're in town!

Got the Royal Flush - fed the entire family and was amazing! The food was very delicious, the biscuits light and flavorful and the meat portions were generous and delicious.

I heard/read nothing but good reviews about this spot and was really excited to try it. I went there on a Saturday night around 6:15-6:30, knowing what their hours were. Their open sign was turned on and visible from the outdoors. We went inside and the staff members had prematurely started closing down for the night. They all seemed visibly shocked/irritated about us being there, all because they started to close down early and had mentally checked out for the night. We ordered our food and sat down and then either the owner or manager came up to us and patronized us about how the restaurant closes at 7. This all happened with at least 20 minutes to burn until 7pm. Didn’t even thank us for coming by or properly greet us, just told us they closed at 7 and walked out the door to leave for the night. If he wasn’t gonna stick around, then why did it even matter? This made us feel unwelcome and like we were being forced out. The bbq itself was quite good and I wanna try more of their menu options, but feel reluctant about going back after this experience. A customer should never feel guilty or rushed out just because they show up less than an hour before the restaurant closes. Disappointing that this is my first impression of a spot that I was genuinely excited to try.

We are so glad we chose Ace Biscuit & Barbecue to cater our wedding reception for us. We received many compliments on the food and enjoyed it very much ourselves! Ace provided a beautiful pig roast, a variety of their standard meats and sides (the mac and cheese was especially delicious and very popular!), and--upon request--a vegetarian option in the form of truly scrumptious smoked tofu. The Ace staff were fantastic to work with--Lauren, our main contact, was very communicative and worked with us over many weeks to create a package that we were happy with--and the fellows working the smoker were very good with the kids at our reception, who were of course fascinated by the pig roast! And the fact that Ace pulled off catering our very large event (400+ guests) within weeks of the devastating vandalism to their location, including their kitchen--and over a month before they officially reopened--speaks very strongly in their favor. We would heartily recommend Ace for anyone looking for catering services in the area, or just anywhere to stop by for a good meal!

Ordered the pulled chicken sandwich, but it was very disappointing. The chicken was oddly pink, mushy, and tasted like canned meat. The sandwich wasn’t assembled, the bread was not toasted and completely soggy from the juices. Definitely not what I expected from something labeled as a “sando.”

Boylan Heights is a popular gourmet burger bar located on The Corner, directly across from the University of Virginia and the UVA Hospital. This prep-school themed sports tavern is a favorite among UVA students and university employees, offering a great happy hour with deals on draft beers and milkshakes from Monday to Thursday. With its contemporary and comfortable interior featuring 20 large HDTVs, it's an ideal spot for enjoying quality American food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Visited Charlottesville and needed a place to watch my beloved Buckeyes. Boyan Heights delivered. Cold beer, tasty wings and nachos, and superb service.

It was our first time having lunch at Boylan Heights with the family, and we really enjoyed it. We loved the open-air atmosphere — it was so nice to enjoy a meal while feeling the breeze and watching a basketball game on TV. The kids were especially excited to see a train go by — that was a fun and unexpected highlight for them! One small thing: The vegetarian burger I had that day was a bit dry and harder than what I’ve had elsewhere. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s usually served, but it didn’t affect our overall great experience. We’ll definitely be back again!
Maymee C — Google review
Chicken was moist and flavorful with a light and crispy breading. I had the BOMB or burger of the month, called Kickin’ Chicken, which is fried chicken on a brioche roll topped with Cole slaw and aioli with hot sauce on the side. My wife had the loaded nachos, which were very good. They made a grill cheese sandwich on good bread for my son. It was terrific—he ate both halves. A bit noisy so we ate outside.

Walking around campus as students were coming back to school we decided to check out the burgers at this place. There are 2 floors with the downstairs open for lunch. The burgers were ok. I don't think they were anything amazing. There were only 2 people waiting on tables and staff had to run up to the kitchen (2nd floor) to get food. The meal took a long time as they were short-staffed.

Visiting UVA. Decided to have lunch on the corner. Boylan was great. Started with draft beers with many to choose from. Easy choice on the appetizer with cheese sticks. They were the same cheese sticks you get at just about every bar, tasty but nothing special. We did two build-to-order burgers. They were juicy, good flavor and cooked just right. Nice fresh toppings. One also ordered from their brunch menu. Great sandwich. Our server was a little stretched because they were busier than expected but she worked very hard to take good care of everyone. Will definitely be back the next time we're in town. Fun first visit to UVA and "the corner."

I came here for a quick bite and drink to sit out and enjoy the sun. The waitress was very nice. Beer selection was a decent mix of a few locals and commercial beers. Wings were good and so were the "Afternoon Special" chicken bites.

Overall experience was awesome. We tried wahoo for our drinks. Room 121 for our burgers. Curly fries were awesome too. The servers were very friendly and overall distanced tables and the fact that they opened all the walls to ventilate the area was also a plus. During this pandemic I recommend this place because they are doing what they can to keep the people and the area safe. I loved the fact that hand sanitizers were placed in middle so you can always use it. Thank you also Aimee for making awesome experience =)

Great meaty burgers, but I prefer Riverside lunch overall for Cville burgers. Had a Room 121 w double beef. Beef ever so slightly dry and/or overcooked for my liking but still great. Curly fries delicious. Huge serving. A few beers and watched the NBA east finals game 1. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. A few times they forgot to put the sound on and had music on instead - i like the idea of putting on music during ad breaks though. Massive big screen and a number of other standard screens. Great college vibe.

Bodo's Bagels is a local favorite in Charlottesville, known for its classic New York-style bagels and bustling atmosphere. Despite the long lines, the service is fast, ensuring you'll have your build-your-own bagel sandwich in no time. The shop has a cult following and is popular among families due to its kid-friendly options. Visitors praise the authentic preparation of the bagels, noting that they are cooked to perfection unlike many others outside of New York and New Jersey.
The Bodo’s on the corner is so convenient. It’s cheap, fantastic and quick. Highly recommend if you’re on grounds. I tried the Ceasar salad this last time and it was amazing!

First timers! We loves this place, fresh bagels with whatever staffing you would like. Great place for a quick bite during the UVA tour. Chicken salad was a hit, regular sandwich was good as well. Choices of cold lemonade and orange juice were a plus for the hot day. Coffee was perfect flavor balanced.

Food is very fresh and decent. They don’t have much more than bagels and some cold sandwiches, somehow their menu leaves me all confused. Anyway, my egg sandwich was hot and satisfying.

I love their fresh warm sesame bagels either with cream cheese or as a sandwich, good value for excellent meal. Coffee is ok, refill is only 56 cents so eat there to make the coffee value better. Or down the first cup there and refill on the way out. Long lines go quickly. The location on the corner is the nicest. The drive thru on Emmet is convenient.

So from the beginning I felt rushed by the staff. As I try to look at the menu they keep asking if u want to order, I was looking for less than 2 minutes with no one in line behind me. 2nd the inside of bagel was raw. I don’t understand how a bagel place can screw up a bagel. 3rd I recommend you never go here unless you want food poisoning.
Timothy S — Google review
Bodo’s had great bagels, but I didn’t love the cream cheese. The bagels were cooked perfectly, but the cream cheese was way too runny. I also would prefer that they cut the bagels in half after putting on cream cheese to make it easier to eat. The staff was super nice and the prices were very reasonable. Also, great mirror to snap a quick selfie so I could tell my parents I was eating a bagel.

Had high hopes for this place since it is supposed to be a high end coffee roaster. Only one person working, and he was in no hurry. Someone asked if he was all by himself, he replied that someone was in back but he as “fine. We purchased two drinks and two pounds of coffee. Asked for extra hot…and waited and waited. An attractive young woman came in and got her coffee immediately. Finally the saw us sitting there and said “what did you have” and pointed to a coffee on the counter that had been sitting there for 5 min (and never been told) and the second was almost ready. Flavor was good but both were lukewarm, as was our experience for $60

We were passing through Charlottesville before our tour of Monticello and were looking for a coffee shop with a historic slice of life and charming vibe. We stopped at the right place. Our barista was a coffee connoisseur who educated us on flavor profiles. We're not that picky, so we both had the caramel latte and got some banana bread. The only thing I would say is that it's a little pricey, around $30 for the two of us. However, it was good coffee and a great atmosphere in a great location. We loved the warm, cozy decor and the paintings of different places. It looks like a popular place because there were consistent customers, but it never felt crowded because of the openness of the room and people getting things to go. I recommend dining in because of the chill vibe. If we're ever passing through, we'll probably come back.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed near this coffee shop during our trip to Virginia. I would’ve given this coffee shop 10 stars, if I could! The coffee was consistently great everyday. A rarity, in my humble opinion. The service was even better! As someone who truly loves quality coffee and attention to detail, I cannot recommend this Mudhouse Specialty Coffee Roasters enough!

I’m in love and I may literally never leave, sitting cross cross on a wooden window seat with pillows. Sigh! The barista was kind and knowledgeable, handling a long line alone with ease and grace and not turning away our pour over request. My vanilla oatmilk latte was absolutely delicious. Top 2 in the state I’ve had so far… lip smacking delicious. The pour over was great as well! The vibe is chill…not pretentious at all. Clientele on a Friday morning was a nice mix of all very sweet people…holding doors for one another, kiddos, people working, etc. My only regret is that I don’t live closer to come more often!!

We just had the most spectacular breakfast at Oakhurst. We both had a brown sugar Cinnamon latte that was over the top, my husband had the avocado toast with salmon, and I had eggs with warm delish biscuits, potatoes, and sausage. It really was the most delightful breakfast, 100% recommend, and the fabulous coffee alone is worth the trip!

Oakhurst inn is my favorite place in Charlottesville for a nice brunch, coffee or lunch. The food is very tasteful and the staff is amazing. A special mention for Kay who’s been working there for a while and who remembered me after a year spent abroad. Cheyenne and Sarai are also adorable and very welcoming. This place feels like home and I am so happy to be back. I’m a big fan of their granola, if I may suggest some extra yoghurt would be great. Love their chèvre salad, it’s simply amazing and their avocado toast. To be honest, everything tastes great!

I went here for brunch to celebrate my birthday, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I found the location to be cute, affordable, and the food was very tasty. Great quality and unique flavors. The beignets were delicious! A must have. I enjoyed their locally brewed kombucha. The atmosphere was much louder and more boisterous than I would have imagined on a Sunday at noon. It was hard to hear my family talk at the little table we were squeezed into. The service was great, and I think that in the future I would sit outside because sound really carries in the little cottage. We made a reservation in advance.

Cute restaurant and the food was amazing. Brunch at Oakhurst Inn is an absolute treat. The burger was phenomenal—juicy, flavorful, and elevated by a rich onion jam that hit all the right notes. The fried chicken sandwich was another highlight: perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a hot sauce that brought just the right amount of heat and tang. The beignets were a delightful surprise—pillowy soft and paired beautifully with citrus and raspberry jam. Pair that with a light, crisp mimosa and you’ve got yourself a perfect morning. Parking is stress-free thanks to the adjacent garage, and if the weather’s nice, definitely opt for a table outside. The patio is peaceful and adds so much charm to the experience. A must-visit brunch spot in town.

I just moved to the area and saw this place on my way to work, so I decided to swing in with a friend. It’s a quaint inn that gave cozy vibes. We went on a Friday morning at 8:30 so it wasn’t crowded. First of all, Kay and Cheyanne are so amazing. They gave such good recommendations, I went for the seasonal coffee that was honey/almond/blueberry and the avocado toast. The coffee blew me away with how creamy it was, despite being dairy free???!!! I’m super picky about my milk, I’m a firm believer that coffee should be served with full fat milk, so with this drink I was beyond impressed. I also looked at my bill and they didn’t charge me for the drink??? So generous of them😭❤️ As for the avocado toast, I took a leap of faith and went with Kay’s recommendation, and it didn’t disappoint. I never order this at a restaurant (they just tend to be overpriced and nothing special), but the marinated tomatoes and flakey sour dough sounded so good and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely would come back and order the same items because I just loved them so much, but also excited to explore the menu more. Come here for the best service, delicious food, and a cozy place to catch up with some friends on a slow morning.

Good food and nice ambiance, but be prepared to wait. We had made a reservation for 11 am, but had to wait till 11:25 to be seated, 11:35 to place an order, and 12:10 to get our food. We hoped that the food would be worth the wait as the presentation and reviews we had seen online were stellar. But sadly, after waiting, the food arrived to our table at room temperature. I wouldn't blame it on the waitress since she was alone handling everything, but maybe it would be helpful to get a second waiter because looking around, the other tables were also waiting and commenting how slow everything was. There is free parking for one hour in the next door garage but given that service takes a long time, you will have to pay for parking. Otherwise, the ambiance is nice and the flavor of the food decent.

Birch & Bloom is a charming restaurant located in the Forum Hotel on UV campus, offering a delightful dining experience. Despite being short-staffed during peak times, the team ensures warm hospitality and excellent food recommendations. The impromptu Easter brunch was a hit with its expansive $65 buffet featuring well-prepared prime rib. The setting is clean and nicely lit, providing a pleasant ambiance for guests to enjoy their meals.
Such a nice spot—too bad I brought my ungrateful ex the first time. Luckily, my parents and current girlfriend actually know how to enjoy things, because Birch & Bloom deserves the praise. The tartare was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The cocktails are fun and creative, so definitely treat yourself to one (or two). Great ambiance, upscale without being pretentious. Go with people who will appreciate it.

We celebrated my daughter's recent nuptials with dinner at Birch + Bloom this past Saturday. I want to truly commend the Valet staff for making us feel welcomed. Everyone one of them showed exemplary customer service as we arrived and upon our departure. We had a big party so we were seated in the private dining room, which was beautiful. The host was very nice, as was our server, who showed our entire party her utmost patience. Speaking only to my order: the French 75 and the St. Louis Ribs were good. The Crab Cake was cold, and only one side was browned. Being from the DMV, where we love a good crab cake, I was disappointed. The Steak Frites...well...the fries and horseradish salsa verde were good! The steak...not good at all. I also ordered the Fried Brussels Sprouts. I didn't like the lemon dressing at all. In my opinion, it ruined the dish. They had so much of it smothered on top of the Brussels Sprouts.😫 They would've been better without it. Other orders: two of my daughter's ordered the Stringozzi Duck Ragú and they really liked it. My mother had the Chicken-Fried Monkfish. I tasted it and thought it was just ok, but needed some salt. Many other things were ordered throughout the party, and the general consensus from everyone was that the food was just ok. A return visit is questionable, just based on the food. If I were basing it on the staff, it would be an immediate yes!

Great atmosphere! The restaurant is open to the guest lobby for the hotel though so factor that into your decision. Our waiter was very kind. My husband's chicken was a little bit burnt around the edges and my cauliflower steak was well seasoned, but cold. They have excellent mocktails for all of my alcohol-free/ pregnant friends! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Bourbon Bloom cocktail. I've included a picture of the mocktail with my review. I would go back simply for the ricotta appetizer and drinks alone.

This restaurant is located on UV campus in the Forum Hotel. We came on a Sunday for brunch and they were a bit short staffed. But it was clean and nicely lit. The biggest looked really great but we decided to opt for omelettes off the menu. They were delayed in providing coffee and the manager came to apologize for delays. There were no spoons provided despite several requests. The setting was nice on couch booths. Once the food arrived we were very pleased. The price was moderate for incredibly delicious omelettes with fresh vegetables. The fruit was fresh and everything including pancakes were delicious.

Was really disappointed in the so-called overpriced pastrami hash. Literally 12 little pieces of fried out meat, giant hunks of potato and totally overdone hard poached eggs. Server was slow and so soft cooked we had to ask her to repeat everything. Won’t go back.

This was my second time for dinner and Randy is truly amazing. There were several things that made this experience stellar. Offering the perfect wine as I transitioned from my starter to my main, making the desserts sound irresistible, and providing a lemon zest with my espresso. Just for a moment I was transported to Italy! Not just a meal but a true dining experience. Thank you!

The bar was a perfect place to dine. We enjoyed two evenings with Bartender Extraordinaire, Randy, and we could not have been more pleased. The food was excellent- Ribs, half chicken, crab cakes, etc... Randy was always smiling and made many recommendations. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great experience, Randy!

The Juice Laundry in Charlottesville is gaining popularity for its fresh and nutritious juices, smoothies, and acai bowls. Despite being a haven for health enthusiasts, the menu offers delicious options that cater to all tastes. The entirely plant-based offerings make it a go-to spot for those seeking healthy choices. Their Blaze smoothie with ginger, cayenne, mango, strawberries, banana, dates, and house cashew milk comes highly recommended.
Great smoothie bowls. Granola is top notch. The smoothies are exquisite. Fruit is fresh and nut butters are good. I recommend cashew. I went twice in two days and got the Super and Tropic energy. Both were very good. If you’re not into caffeine, I would substitute coconut water for the fancy tea in the Tropic Energy drink. That way you get some extra hydration instead of caffeine. The only better thing would be if they served acai as a base, but they explained why they don’t serve acai and it makes sense!
Jack K — Google review
The employee who took my order was fine. The smoothie was lackluster. The space is cute. Location great. Smoothie bowl? Oooof: The granola was soggy, blueberries mushy like they were frozen and then thawed out. The smoothie itself was almost liquid?—almost like they had made it in advance and just stuck it in a fridge? Who knows. Expected my smoothie bowl to be made fresh since I ordered in but that clearly wasn’t the case.
Kathryn M — Google review
This is my go-to breakfast spot!! I love the Monster smoothie bowl, the granola is my favorite part, and the bananas are always exactly as I love them! But every thing I’ve tried so far is delicious, definitely can’t go wrong and I love that everything is plant-based and good for the earth 😊

Contemporary, cozy place with great selection of healthy beverages, smoothies, and more. Hosted by friendly staff and wait time is small even in the busy times of day. Free WiFi for those who dine in.
Daniel B — Google review
Nice vibe and the staff was helpful and attentive. They have a nice selection, however, I feel it is overpriced. I have NO issues spending money on healthy things that go in my body, but I felt that $11 for this N5 and $9+ for my wife's smoothie was a bit extreme. The flavor was good, but I'll continue making my smoothies at home.

Belle is a charming bakery and cafe that has quickly become a local favorite in Charlottesville since its opening in 2019. The establishment offers a buzzy work vibe indoors and a sunny patio for leisurely lunches. Their specialty lies in sourdough-based baked goods, and the interior features a cozy fireplace, French bistro chairs, and an impressive mural. Customers praise their delicious iced coffee and look forward to trying their bagels.
Cute place! Somewhat limited indoor seating, they have some outdoor seating. Very limited parking lot but some street parking around. Food was great! We got the breakfast sandwhich and herbed potatoes. Their seasonal apple cider was wonderful. Only down side, the music indoors was very loud and made conversation difficult. They have one bathroom, gender neutral with a baby changing station👍

stopped for a bite at Belle, we got the Croque Monsieur and it was delicious! The English muffins and hand pies were also top notch! (we got a couple things from Ciaccia next door as well 🤣) service was very friendly too. we'll be back!

Wonderful late breakfast stop for us on our way to Harrisonburg. Sourdough like this is almost impossible to find. And I say this out of experience. I live in Germany and have been making my own sourdough bread for several years now. This place is worth a visit!

Lovely spot in. Belmont. Plenty of seating outside. You order your food at the counter which also had a showcase of delicious patisserie items. Great tasting bread too.

Per usual, Belle’s French Toast (currently with berry compote) turned OUT. Amazing taste, great coffee shop atmosphere. Easy to hold conversations and to work in if needed. Thank you Belle, for continuing to hold your charm!

Belle is such a wonderful space! Something for everyone from their delicious breakfast offerings to a variety of options on their dinner menu in a quaint welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend this place to everyone! (Plus their outdoor patio is great!) John and Scott have curated a wonderful addition to the Belmont restaurant scene, our waiter Alex was so nice and made my friends birthday very special with the candle on her desert! Also, the wine selection was superb and our cocktails were amazing!
Courtney E — Google review
We had a mixed experience at this brunch spot. The coffee was great—definitely recommend it! The avocado toast was also tasty. However, the French toast was undercooked and not enjoyable, and the All-American breakfast felt a bit too small for the price. The food quality was hit or miss for us.
Gabriela — Google review
I want to like this place and support it regularly, but they make it tough. Hit and miss with food, operations and service are mediocre at best. Good location, standard hipster design, food can be good but often just okay, and properly over priced with up to 30% tip options on the flip around. Last experience will likely be the last. Sunday, 1:00 p.m. almost as long of a line to order as people seated. Once I get to the counter see that for a busy weekend Sunday they have put a novice at the till. Go to order. And they are out of this out of that. No avocados, which are on half their menu options. And not serving lunch even though their website says they do on a Sunday. Stood in line for 30 minutes to have to walk out cuz they only had three brunch sandwiches and options out of their full menu. Save yourself some time and money. Go to Tillman's or Marie Bette instead for better ingredients competent service, and an operation that cares about the customer experience.

The Multiverse Kitchens is a restaurant with an interesting and eclectic menu. The chicken thigh was cooked perfectly, and the bacon added a nice smokiness to the dish. The egg was also cooked perfectly, and it was great to have on a hot day like today. I really enjoyed the maple syrup and hot sauce that were served with my dish, as they brought out the flavors nicely. I would definitely come back here for another meal!
Passing by Charlottesville and decided to stop by for brunch at this place. I have to say it is a hidden treasure. Biscuits were buttery, tender flaky and perfectly crispy on the outside. The french press coffee serving was a nice surprise offering, enjoyed very much. We had the Fried Chicken biscuit and The Cure. Plenty of flavor on the chicken and rightly done. Can’t wait to come back!!! Thank you for a great service we could not feel more welcome, they were very attentive to our needs while there having brunch.

Incredible! Best biscuit sandwiches in town and the fried chicken was perfection. Also the cookies are so good! Baked to order so they came out hot and gooey in the center. The lady behind the counter was also super warm and welcoming. Please come check this place out! Perfect for an indulgent meal.

Hands down the best fried chicken and biscuit in town. The biscuits are insane — buttery, flaky, and just the right amount of crisp on the outside. I had the Fried Chicken Biscuit with hot honey, and it was perfect. The staff was friendly, and the vibe was relaxed but upbeat. You can tell everything is made with care. Definitely coming back soon (probably way too often)

AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS FOOD! I love the idea of several styles of food under one roof. We ordered the best wedge salad we’ve ever had and the chicken sliders are incredible! They’ve also figured out a way to offer a green bean salad that makes you love eating veggies. Yum! The warm cookies are heavenly... this spot is so convenient and I see myself quickly becoming a regular.

This place has been around for two years and nobody knows about this wonderful place ! It is a little intimidating, but one you enter in , it's amazing world inside! To say this place is somewhat confusing and complex is an understatement : Case in point- This is there opening statement. Multiverse Kitchens is a digital food hall that's home to seven different restaurants--Fowl Mouthed Chicken, Firebox, Brookville Biscuit + Brunch, Keevil Tea Room, Smashing Salads, Long Strange Chip, and Toad in the Hole--all designed using local ingredients and recipes that are meant to travel. Order curbside pick-up or delivery from one or all of our restaurants, so that everyone in your family can get what they love. That's what we call infinite possibilities. Lol! A tab much ! But Chéf and owner is nowhere as complicated! ! A very humble and wonderful person! Here we go! I ordered a chicken biscuit! It was over the top! They best I have had in cville! The biscuit was a square biscuit similar to a butter swim biscuit ( look it up) but constructed a tad different! I very serious construct! The boneless skinless thigh was perfectly breaded and cooked fresh! A little bit of honey to add sweetness! This not a handwich. You much enjoy this with a knife and fork. At the end use a spoon to scoop up the goodness! I didn't think this could get any better! They had real hot tea service! Earl tea was performed perfectly! Harrison ( who is British) the chef explained that the tea was an omage to his dad that enjoyed tea time often! The place is a very family and personal ! The decor was very contemporary! It your looking for the fried chicken in cville hands down, this place is it ! Good price also! Say hello to Mary for me! examen des cols bleus:x

A proper southern biscuit and fried chicken! Staff was nice and accommodating. 5/5 definitely plan on returning with a larger group. Thanks chef!

Multiverse Kitchens has THE BEST chicken and waffles hands down. I travel for work and have had my fair share of chicken and waffles throughout the country and no one perfects the fluffiness of the waffle as well as the crunch of the chicken quite like Harrison does. Definitely worth the stop if you are in the area looking for great food!

We had biscuits with jam, the breakfast biscuit sandwiches with sausage, the BFP chocolate chip pancake (huge!) and So-co grilled cheese with apple butter, so good. And… French press coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious. Servings are large… biscuits are delicious and fluffy. Sausage so good. Service was great. The restaurant is clean and bright with an adorable poppy mural. You won’t regret a visit there for breakfast/brunch!

Nestled in the Barracks Road Shopping Center, Milk & Honey Southern Inspired Kitchen has quickly become a vibrant dining destination. This charming eatery, which took over the former Ralph Sampson's American Taphouse location, serves up a delightful array of Southern-inspired dishes that cater to all tastes. From their unique Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs to the indulgent Biscoff Butter Chicken & Waffles, there's something for everyone on the menu.
Excellent value - large portion sizes and high-quality cooking. Classic southern dishes with small and thoughtful tweaks. Service was crazy fast at 4pm. Staff were great. Decent number of patio seats.

Milk & Honey is my favorite brunch spot; the ones in the MD area are anyway. I was so excited to try this one out. I was really disapponted! I got the traditional breakfast, I asked for cheese in my eggs, they used white cheese…so nasty. My daughter got the chicken sandwich and it was dark meat 🤮. She said the texture didn’t taste right. She took it to go but threw it away. Our waitress was nice. I will likely not return here again.
Tasha N — Google review
Real nice atmosphere and great service. The chicken wing appetizer was really good. The steak was fantastic and cooked perfectly. The side of candied yams were kind of bland tasting. Overall pretty good food and service and will definitely visit again.

Food was good ambience was great US Bank. I felt I was a little underdressed, but my wife, for surely I was fine. I had the Biscoff waffles with the chicken thighs. Very good. I wanted another waffle when I was done my wife had the salmon with the asparagus and a Biscoff martini which she enjoyed very much We had the fried deviled eggs, which were immaculate. I will be back.
Leroy B — Google review
My wife and I recently visited Milk and Honey in Charlottesville, and overall, we had a pleasant experience with a few notes for next time. First impressions were strong — the restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a clean, welcoming atmosphere that instantly set the tone for a good meal. The staff was courteous, and the food presentation was excellent across the board. I ordered the chicken and waffles, opting to switch out the standard fried chicken thighs for the Honey Old Bay wings. In hindsight, I wouldn’t make that choice again. While the wings had good flavor, they lacked the crispiness I was hoping for, and the generous amount of sauce ended up soaking into the waffle. The result? A waffle that tasted more like Honey Old Bay than breakfast — not quite what I was going for. My wife had the fish sandwich with tater tots. She said the flavor was solid, but it was hard to enjoy with so much grease dripping from the sandwich. It seemed like it had just come out of the fryer without being drained properly. We also shared the biscuits as an appetizer, which were quite good and a nice start to the meal. Despite a few missteps with our dish choices, I’d definitely consider coming back. The ambiance, cleanliness, and food quality show real promise — I’d just go for a different entrée next time.

Had to post about the fantastic lunch we just had! Chef Anna and her team really went above and beyond, and the food was perfectly seasoned, classic and approachable with a southern flare. Can't wait to be back again!

Second time coming here and we ordered the Chicken n Biscoff waffles, the gumbo, the blackened chicken Cajun pasta and the Salmon BLT. The pasta tasted good but I wasn't a fan of the chicken that was in it. However the Chicken n waffles is the best Chicken n waffles I've ever tasted! The flavor of the gumbo was delicious! And the Salmon BLT tasted pretty good! We highly recommend coming here!

This is a nice restaurant at the Barracks shopping centre. I came at 10:30 and it was nice and quiet. My sandwich came quickly. It wasn’t the best salmon sandwich I’ve had; it could’ve done with more spice and salt.

Grit Coffee stands out for its dedication to quality, sourcing only the finest beans and roasting them in-house to create a delightful array of flavors. Each cup is crafted with care, ensuring that every sip offers a rich and complex taste experience. The friendly baristas are passionate about their craft, making sure each drink is prepared with precision.
Friendly staff and good quality drinks! I only ever get the coffee drinks, not matcha or tea, but they have always been satisfactory. The baristas know what they are doing and make sure every drink is made with care. Their espresso tastes good in lattes and cappuccinos, but I would not recommend it on its own. They offer fresh pastries early in the day, but don't expect any will be left after noon. My only complaint is that everything is quite expensive (even more than Starbucks), but if you are a UVA student you can use flex dollars. Also, even though there is very little seating, the ambiance is nice and they play good music.

Anytime I'm in Charlottesville for business, I will breakfast or lunch at Grit. Coffees (my wife's hot cappuccino and my iced latte) weren't just good...they were great! Baristas and manager were personable and helpful, both with the menu and with some local intel. Espresso/coffee quality is superb, and drinks were customized and blended perfectly, and served with nice heavy glassware when dining in. Breakfast sandwiches were also excellent, and when requested well done they were happy to oblige. Lots of seating and cool vibe and atmosphere. Wish I could give 6 stars.

Great location and great vibes. I love the seating right by the window where you can see out. The coffee was great and they had plenty of options to choose from. I had the lavender lemonade cold brew which was the perfect coffee/lemonade balance. Delicious and refreshing on a hot day. I would definitely stop in again if I am in the area.

I went to this location and ordered a simple drip coffee and it tasted like hot water. I tried all the drip coffees that was made and it all tasted the same. The person that helped me tasted the coffee too and she knew that coffee wasn’t good. I was offered an Americano but I’ve never had anyone at any coffee shop make that well so I declined. I should have just gotten my money back. I had to wait a long time to get waited on and there were only 3 people inside the store. There was a lot of personal chitchat going on with the customer and employee that kept me waiting. I definitely would not go back to this location anyway.

I cannot speak for the food, but the coffee is some of the best I’ve had in America. My husband ordered a macchiato and I grabbed a vanilla iced coffee - two things that can be easily messed up. The iced coffee was perfection. The vanilla tasted real, was not overly sweet, and complemented the coffee perfectly. The coffee wasn’t overly acidic and had been brewed well - it wasn’t burnt tasting like many local roasters. The vibes were chill, there’s a ton of space to hang around, and the staff were delightful!

We have been to this inoperable twice. The first time the food came cold and service was really poor. My kids love their pancakes though so gave it a second chance. This time we had a great server, it was her first day but she did fantastic. Food came fast and hot. My 4 year old was sad cause he decided he wanted the smiley face pancake his sister had and the server was excellent. Brought my don’t whipped cream, chocolate chips and strawberries so he could have the smiley face. Definitely redeemed themselves this time.

The food was decent, but the service was really lacking. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated, and there was no one at the front to help or update people waiting. It took a long time for the food to come out, too. BIG lack of management.

How today went. Stop in for late lunch. Hostess was nice. Walked to our table. Covered in butter. About 8 tables in the section haven’t been bussed. I get seated in another section. Server comes over after 5 minutes (I’m the only table). “You ready to order?” No hello, no hi my name is etc…. I order. “Yeah can I get the so and so” uh huh….uh huh…uh huh. That was the servers reply. Then just walks off. 8 minutes go by still no drink. Server just hanging out talking while look dead at me. No drinks on table. Finally just left. Restaurant was filthy, server was just I don’t even know. Worst ihop experience of my life.

There was a hair in the food and our eggs were cooked wrong, we requested replacement eggs and we were given hard eggs again. We requested the manager to come and speak with us and was told the manager was cooking and to busy to come speak with us.

If you expect your mobile order to be on time, just don't. It will not be on time. They probably will not start the order until you get there when the food is supposed to be ready. If they were packed busy I would be more understanding, but there were at most 10 people in the dining room. I stood at the counter for over 10 minutes before anyone offered to assist me. Then I had to wait an additional 10 minutes just for them to tell me that my order is JUST NOW starting. This is 15 minutes after the online order should have been done. I get that it's just IHOP, but timeliness is something that should be expected no matter where you go.

They were not very busy but it still took along time to get our food. We order gravy and biscuits. The biscuits looked like they were saturated in butter and the gravy came in a container that ketchup should come in and it was cold as ice. Could not eat it. We asked for our ticket and left without eating anything. The manager took $2.00 off our ticket. I feel like the only thing we should have paid for was our coffee . We will not be back and hope no one else wastes there time and money.

We have been to this Panera Bread several times and others many times. Usually a totally satisfactory meal and experience. Not tonight. The pickle and the apple which came with the meal looked like they had been pulled out of the trash. The paper towel dispenser in the men's room had no paper towels. The response from the manager when brought to his attention, while not rude, was almost indifferent. Like he just didn't get it, although he did hand me another apple on the way out the door.

If you're planning a getaway to the Charlottesville area, consider staying in an AirBnb or house rental for your bachelorette party. This option not only provides a cozy atmosphere but also places you near stunning wineries in charming towns like Crozet, Ivy, Afton, and Barboursville. These locations allow you to immerse yourself in nature while enjoying the local wine scene without breaking the bank on hotel costs. While you're exploring this beautiful region, don't miss out on Ivy Provisions!
What do I love most about Ivy Provision's? That they remind me of home in Virginia Beach decades ago when TASTE Unlimited first opened. Better yet I respect the overall operation after a single visit and know they have their act together. Ivy Provisions is located just outside UVA grounds make it very convenient for this HOO Dad to check out the first time. Of course I looked at their reviews, menu and photos of sandwiches to properly vet. I was astonished and made this a must stop. I caught them at a good time on a weekday before close and better yet knew they were featuring lobster rolls on the Ivy Provisions Instagram feed. Parking was easy in their own lot. The non commercialized building was a welcome site. This is the one and only Ivy Provisions. Grab a bag of chips, salad or treat with a bottle drink as you head to the counter of Ivy's cozy space. The young gentleman was friendly and efficient with answering a few questions. My wife ordered the Gobbfather which is a Turkey Melt on white. I ordered the lobster roll special. Seating is all outdoors on the patio. Food orders are prepared and sent out in a bag through the window, you will find utensils and napkins in this location. The area was clean. The restroom is gender neutral and was also clean with proper supplies. My wife enjoyed her turkey melt and found it so big she could not finish. My lobster roll I had no problem dusting off. It was a beautiful roll with fresh Maine lobster and soft roll. Total home run. Find me back at Ivy Provisions the next time in Charlottesville. A full 5 stars and job well done all around.

Stopped by for thwcuban today. It was ok,not great. The pulled pork was a bit dry and lacked seasoning. Overall it was a bit greecy. Will try something else next time. We need a good Italian deli in C'ville.

Cute, fun sandwich shop. Delicious food with great ingredients and portions. Caters to pick up service, but it has a small outdoor eating area for small parties 2-3, maybe 4. Parking lot is very busy due to pick up of online orders. Highly recommended and will repeat next time in town to at least grab and go.

Michael's Diner & Restaurant is a popular spot known for its excellent food and reasonable prices. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including the Country Fresh Eggs meal, Eggs Benedict, crab cake, Greek burger, and Cobb salad. Customers appreciate the friendly and personable staff who provide quick service without making them feel rushed. The portion sizes are generous and the quality of food is fantastic. It's also conveniently located near the airport.
A very nice experience. My waiter was attentive, no wait time seated right away. The food was fresh and hot. I plan to try more menu items as it is quite extensive. Yum.
Gluteus M — Google review
I should preface this by saying I’ve gotten gyros here before and they were delicious, but my lunch today was pretty awful. I got the Greek salad - the dressing was pretty sparse and tasted like nothing at all. This was my main work lunch and I had to pass on it until I can buy some dressing. The olives also weren’t pitted which was kind of annoying. I also got mozzarella sticks and the breading was still pretty raw on the inside and tasted like raw flour. They were not edible.
Sarah R — Google review
It was only just ok. The omelet seemed to have been cooked a lil too long. The home fries, not quite long enough. And the sausage gravy just wasn't it for me. Was it just add a little water and stir? Why so thick? I would come back and try other items for lunch but breakfast today was not it...
Lyndel F — Google review
We got suasage egg &cheese, french toast and veg omlette. The sausage was dry and a little sad. French toast were pretty good and omlette was good too. The coffee tasted a little burnt but the hot chocolate was nice. The staff is reallys sweet.

First time eating here was today. We placed our order and in less than 6 minutes it was in front of us and I ordered a custom omelet. Very fast service. The food was hot and it was good, nothing blew me away being excellent but good. The waitress we had was excellent she was on top of her game not like another one that stood and talked to the guest at the table beside us for our entire breakfast. Hope they aren't forced to share tips!!

Super super friendly staff. The service was quick and the waiter was even kind enough to let me sample their grits. The food is fantastic, the portion size is great and the quality is fantastic. Pricing is fair. I would highly recommend eating here!!! It's even near the airport.

This whole place is a vibe. Was super cool to walk in and see the whole roasting setup right there in front of my eyes. Sooo many coffees to choose from. It was my first time in, was getting a surprise for my coworker. I made a strange request at the counter. The barista agreed to it and was super sweet and even personally brought me out a little compostable tray to help me carry my drinks out. I Was super appreciative ❤️it’s the little things. Plus the espresso was delicious and just the thing I didn’t know I needed! If you like to drink real, good, properly made coffee…this is the spot

Awesome ambiance, fantastic coffee, plenty of seating available. It’s amazing how many places can screw up an iced oat milk latte, but theirs was perfect 👌🏼

The coffee was decent. I liked my cappuccino but didn’t love the cold brew. Regardless, the best part of this place is the ambiance and the seating options. It’s one of the only places in town with enough space for a large group or to get a little spot for yourself. A great place to post up for an hour or two. I also love how they give you real glassware if you’re staying in.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at the Waffle House on Premier Circle in Charlottesville, VA! We came in right after a nearby festival ended, so the restaurant was packed — but the team handled the rush like total professionals. Despite the high volume, our food came out shockingly fast, hot, and cooked perfectly. The kitchen staff and line cooks worked like a well-oiled machine, staying calm under pressure and making sure every plate looked great and tasted even better. What truly made this visit exceptional was the amazing customer service. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Special shoutouts to: Mariah – Incredibly personable and fun, kept the mood upbeat and friendly no matter how busy it got. Jessica – Her attention to detail was outstanding — from perfectly timed coffee refills to checking on every little thing we might need. Diane – No-nonsense, fast, and kind — a true pro who stayed completely on top of everything during the rush. Kristen – Quick-witted, always smiling, and gave us fantastic customer service. She even took the time to help us find something specific when we asked. The entire team deserves major recognition for their professionalism, teamwork, and kindness under pressure. This was easily one of the best Waffle House experiences we’ve ever had. Huge thanks to Mariah, Jessica, Diane, Khirsten, and the line cooks for being absolute rockstars. Management should be proud — this crew represents Waffle House at its very best! We’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in Charlottesville. And give all of them raises for the amazing work!

Mariah has a nasty attitude and will purposely skip your order on the line. I waited 7 mins after receiving my has browns for her to bring my side of gravy. Then she gave us half our food, we mentioned that the bacon was missing. She grabbed another plate of bacon and walked to another table with it (who ordered after us). Then proceeded to "calculate" the total of the tabs which was her flipping back and forth through them for nearly 10 mins.

Nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, Greenberry's Coffee Co. is a modern café that perfectly blends a cozy atmosphere with high-quality coffee and tea offerings. Since its inception in 1992, this beloved local spot has become a go-to destination for both residents and visitors alike. With an impressive menu featuring freshly baked goods and delicious sandwiches ideal for breakfast or lunch, Greenberry's ensures that every visit is satisfying.
Our first time trying their coffee. We got an iced mocha and an iced toffee late. Both were so good and flavorful without being overly sugary. It was extremely clean inside the restaurant, and appeared to be a comfortable place to sit and study, read, etc. The service was excellent and the staff were kind. We will definitely be going back to try more in the future!

It took 10 minutes to get the cold brew I ordered. The cup was 75% ice 25% coffee. Menu price listed on board did not match what I was charged for ($5.30~ on board and $5.90 at register.)

Alexandra R — Google review
Great place for coffee, top 5 in C’ville I’d say. I’ve only been to the location in Barracks, so I can’t speak for all Greenberry’s, but their coffee is consistently smooth, flavorful, and bold. Their nitro coffee comes in delicious flavors like toffee, vanilla, caramel, etc., and their flavored lattes are not too overbearing with the syrup - the espresso always comes through, especially in their hot lattes. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. Expect to pay ~$4-5 for a latte, and ~$3 for a coffee.
The F — Google review
Not a great experience at this Greenberry’s unfortunately. Staff seemed annoyed and unfriendly. Iced coffee came out as a cup of watered down milk. Sandwich was okay but I’ve had better from other greenberry locations. Not stocked up on napkins or anything either.

Sam's Kitchen is a popular college game day morning spot that offers good, hot food at reasonable prices. The wait staff are helpful and there are many regulars who frequent the establishment. The reuben sandwich is tasty and the chocolate shake, although not as thick as desired, is enjoyable. The restaurant serves basic yet delicious meals for breakfast and lunch without any reported negative experiences.
Such a cozy, welcoming spot with great service! My husband and I were just passing through town and stopped in for breakfast, what a pleasant surprise. We had an amazing meal! The bacon strips were the best we’ve ever had, the pancakes and waffle were delicious, and the chicken fajita eggs were absolutely amazing. It took a little time for the food to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. A great find!
Katherin O — Google review
Visited Sam's Kitchen for the first time, and it definitely has that old-school diner vibe I love as a New Jersey native. I tried the cheeseburger omelette, which wasn't bad but needed a good amount of salt and pepper (maybe they forgot or left it out on purpose). I also got a side of biscuits with sausage gravy. The biscuit wasn’t anything special—wish it had been flakier—but the sausage gravy was tasty and really helped bring it together. My partner ordered the breakfast sampler with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and home fries. The sausage had a nice kick to it, and the pancakes were a bit fluffy but a little hard on the outside. The real star of the plate was the home fries, which were perfectly seasoned with peppers and onions—definitely a must-order! Service was a bit slow, especially since the place wasn’t packed, but overall, it’s a decent spot for breakfast. The prices are really cheap, and it’s conveniently close to where I live, so I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
John H — Google review
Unbelievable food. Honestly the best omelette I’ve had and the home fries were so flavorful. They had the kindest servers ever and the diners were also so friendly. Had multiple friendly conversations with other diners on the restaurant. Would definitely come back!
Drew M — Google review
Visited this spot for breakfast, I wouldn’t go back. While it is a family run business which shows from the “mama” being yelled out by the staff members. The food was subpar, the potatoes tasted like the oil they were cooked in. The waffle wasn’t bad, but not anything that you can’t get somewhere else. The decor and vibe reminds me of a flee market. It’s definitely a hidden hole in the wall spot that doesn’t seem to be too busy.
Ashlyn D — Google review
Tables were dirty and seemed kinda understaffed But the food made it all worth it Amazing double cheeseburger Best chillie cheese dog I’ve ever had in my life And the brownie ice cream was so good Eating the cold vanilla ice cream with the warm chocolate brownies is a very good feeling

I went with my bestie this past weekend and we had a great time. Breakfast is a favorite for us and this one is both good and won't break the bank. It's very much a casual diner but that's it's charm, personally I don't want anything pretentious. I want decent prices, good food and friendly service and that's exactly what Sam's Kitchen provides. The wait staff are so kind and friendly. They seem to actually be friends with one another too, which adds to the warm atmosphere.
Kat I — Google review
Was walking around when I found this little area tucked into a corner of a small shopping center. The service was excellent, it appears to be a mom n pop type of place. The atmosphere hard to tell as I went in for breakfast, quiet place. Some artwork for sale on the walls. Few plants for decor, just an average place. The food was pretty good, reminds me of a home cooked meal. Eggs were cooked to my request perfectly, sausage and home fries were great. Coffee was good. The waitresses were well attentive, and seems to be regulars going day to day judging by the warm welcome and familar questions oh wheres so and so. The only thing I could say about the place would be a light make over on the inside, other than that it is an excellent stop for breakfast and looking forwars for lunch or dinner in the future.

Chick-fil-A is a popular fast-food chain known for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads, and sides. Customers have praised the friendly staff and delicious food. Some have experienced minor issues with their orders but were impressed by the exceptional customer service when reaching out to the restaurant. The dining area is described as comfortable with small plants on tables, providing a pleasant atmosphere while waiting for orders.
We LOVE Chick-fil-A!!! Definitely great service. Always friendly. Food never disappoints. Smoothies… YUM!! Love they do seasonal flavors (peach & peppermint are my favorite… wish they had all year but then it would ruin the specialness of them). Definitely are go to place. Market salad is delicious little pricey but a great treat occasionally. I usually do the small salad with a small nugget and get the apple cider vinaigrette. Just as delicious with a small cost.

Passing through on the way to see the leaves. Place was packed, but pretty fast. I like the little plants on the tables in an effort to make the dining area seem more comfy. And, it's nice that they have a little table and chairs while you are waiting for your order. Food came out hot (except the wrap, which was cold) but didn't stay that way very long. 🤔 🤷🏻‍♀️ I ordered grilled chicken nuggets thinking they would be plain grilled chicken. They were not. I could have done without the seasoning 😐 but it was edible. Basically a chicken breast cut into 5 pieces. Our fries got cold pretty quick, but were still edible with ketchup. Love the ability to dip my fries into the ketchup packet. Especially since we were just passing through and ate in the car. His wrap was dry, they forgot the dressing, but it was good otherwise. All in all, a decent, fast meal.

First time this Charlottesville CFA location located a mile plus off the highway and nearby the hospital. There is a light to enter and exit which is a huge plus. They offer a drive up, but only a single lane. The parking lot is also somewhat compact and may be challenging when peak busy like it was during my visit. I did a dine in. The staff was friendly and the ordering system smooth. I tried new BBQ grilled sandwich and a side fruit cup and water. The dining room and men’s restroom were clean. Pretty much every table had customers and staff was on top of it. My order was delivered in just under 10 minutes. The sandwich was decent, but likely would not get again. The fruit with assorted strawberries, blueberries and apples fresh. This is a very well managed Chick Fil A. The drawback is when it’s slammed.
J H — Google review
I would like to spotlight Ashley today (4/17 1pm) for her wonderful customer service. I came in today after placing an order online 20 min prior. I was a little confused when it wasn’t ready yet, and she politely explained to me I had to click “start order”. She assured me the meal wouldn’t take long, and sure enough within a minute she was delivering my food to me with a smile. Ashley embodies the chic filet experience, and you are very lucky to have such a genuine person.

This was my first mobile order with Chick-fil-A. I drove directly to the mobile order line and scanned the readily visible QR code sign. When I got to the server one item was not ready so I was directed to mobile parking. My completed order was received in a few minutes. The only negative was that I requested creamer in one of the coffees and that was missed. No big deal though.

McDonald's is a well-established fast-food chain famous for its classic burgers and fries. Customers have praised the cleanliness of the restaurants and the quality of service. However, there have been mixed reviews about the speed of service, with some experiencing slow order fulfillment both in-store and through curbside pick-up.
This review is explicitly for Rachel in the drive through. I often come in the morning to get a McGriddle or coffee and I can always immediately tell if it’s her on the intercom. She has such a positive and helpful attitude which is difficult in a food service job. Rachel is great!

Jeff C — Google review
Large fries came out cold, crispy like a potato chip and the container was half full. When you use the drive thru it is for convenience most likely due to time and you should not have to check your order to go back inside to correct the order. No confidence in their drive through service. Staff should know better because I don't believe they would want food served to them to be that poor quality. Tells me they just do not care. I suggest the ownership do some quality control audits.
Michael P — Google review
This McDonald's, located in the Barracks Road shopping center, has a University of Virginia theme, with photos of different parts of the campus. Service is usually pretty good but today I ran into a glitch. As shown in one of the photos, they had no carbonated beverages and their frappe machine was broken. Sometimes the McDonald's app requires you to place a prepaid mobile order to get a discount (e.g., 20% off). So I ordered a caramel frappe in advance through the app only to discover they weren't able to make any. I had no choice but to go inside the restaurant and request a refund. The associate at the register was very nice but he did not know how to process a refund, so it took awhile. That's been my biggest issue with the app, placing a mobile order only to find the restaurant can't fill part of it, which means you have to go through hoops to get your money back.
David G — Google review

Great local place. Clean, friendly staff, great prices. Had double cheeseburger, is my 2nd favourite in Charlottesville after Riverside Lunch. The chips and gravy looked and smelled amazing too. The guy sitting next to me who clearly was a regular had it. Edit: Been back a couple more times. Love the fries & gravy. Pro tip: in my opinion ask for burgers "well done" as that gives them a slightly crispier more caramelized / Maillard reaction exterior which makes them better

The prices are reasonable and the food was just like home cooked. Our waitress was very friendly and kind. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere cozy! I ordered an omelette with country potatoes. The omelette was delicious just like I like them but the potatoes were ok…I like them either sliced or wedged and they were diced and a little dry. My daughter also got an omelette and she said hers was great. My grand babies both got pancakes and they gave them a thumbs 👍🏿 up!! Overall it was what we expected and we would recommend others to eat there!

Pretty good diner. Nothing fancy, been around since 1950. Known for their burgers, and seems to be a favorite with the locals. My husband ordered one of their famed hamburgers, and he said it was delicious. I got the club, and it was very good, as well. I did have a problem with my iced tea. It tasted so strong like glue or chemicals; however, they graciously exchanged it for a coke instead. I noticed another customer, who arrived after us, complaining about the tea as well and had to change his drink also. Other than the tea, I would recommend it.

Today, my sister and I went and sat down at this restaurant. To be honest I was a little skeptical when we pulled into the parking lot. I found out about this place through the reviews and wanted to see what it was like. I was shocked, flabbergasted, even. This place was amazing. Now from my point of you looking on the outside it looked a little beaten up. But from the staff perspective, it was amazing. When we walked in, we were met by amazing smiles, and only one table was empty. The food was good great actually, the food was great. Our server was very nice. I wish I had caught her name though. My sister ordered the steak and cheese with everything on it and it was scrumptious. I got chicken tenders and fries, which was also very very good. I was a little taken back by the portion size though the portions were huge. I have a big appetite and I couldn’t even finish my food. The food was excellent though all in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to eat at.

Saw on MAPS. Decided to try for 1st time based on menu and great reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Staff was super nice, service was great, and food delicious. I ordered steak and cheese. It came with American, but I wish I'd thought to ask for Swiss or Provolone. I did get it with grilled onions& gr.peppers. it was juicy and flavorful. Also ordered fries with the gravy on the side (to try based on reviews). The were the large crinkle cut ones, piping hot. And the brown gravy was very tasty and good with the fries. The sweet tea, was really good, sweet, like southern sweet tea should be, not the watered down, barely sweetened tea I get so most places. I couldn't eat it all, so I took my other half of sub and a free refill on sweet tea to go. And it's convenient, just around the corner from UVA hospital. I'll definitely be back!
Sue D — Google review
I ended up coming here out of the whim. My impression, it isn't bad. Not the worst, not the best, just right. Everything is priced right, and turnaround time for ordering takeout was fairly quick. The burger is just a basic cheeseburger nothing special. French fries are seasoned and fried perfectly. I also got the BBQ pulled pork, and that was actually pretty good. For the price I paid, I got a lot. I also asked for coleslaw, and was expecting it as a side, not in with the pork. My only con about this was that, I had to use a fork to eat it and not really like a sandwich because of how heavy it was. Not really a con though, is it lol.

I love the convenience of this location, being in a grocery store. Unfortunately, I have to have them remake my drink every.single.time I go there, simply because it tastes bad. After every time they remake it, it tastes as expected. They aren't happy having to remake them :(

Never seen people that hate their job more. Worst attitude I’ve ever seen. They radiate negative energy .

This Starbucks is inside of Barnes and Noble. The line is almost always long, the service is slow, and the coffee isn't great. I thought Starbucks couldn't make a Mocha until I went to any of the other locations in town. If you need coffee and you're at Barracks, you're better off going to McDonald's.
Laura F — Google review
Below par service for a typical Star Bucks. I used to go there regularly until I simply gave up. The main machine is broken at times and you end up wasting time to go in to find "sorry the machine is broken". I have had an occasion where I was told the time is up and it is closed, only to find minutes later after shopping for groceries (as this star bucks is inside Harris Teeter's) the hostess making coffee for friends. When I gave the look, I was offered a free coffee (refused obviously). Again a case of poor/incompetent/untrained worker than being a bad place for coffee. Btw it is warm coffee and not hot when I was able to get it (again a case of worker incompetence).

I never have regular coffee as it always tadtes burned. I do like the macchiato and frappechinos. The egg bits make a delicious meal. They are tiny but dense and filling. I get annoyed when i see people tsking up entire tables for 4 when it is only one person with their computer parked there for hours to use the wi fi. It can be difficult if you want to sit and eat or enjoy your drink.

A Starbucks located inside the Harris Teeter. It has a lot of seating and the service has always been pleasant. It sometimes feels a bit dirty and not comfortable due to its placement and surroundings.

Was located inside Harris Teeter was kind of hard to find we are visiting from out of town had to drive around shopping center just to find it was located differently on GPS than actually in Shopping Center went in two by a few Iced Teas they were out of the strawberry iced tea so ended up only able to get half of my order needed for my family otherwise customer service was extremely nice the area that they were in was clean i give 4 stars

Burger King is a popular fast-food restaurant that offers a variety of grilled burgers, fries, and shakes. While they may not always have all the drink options available, their burgers and fries are often praised for their authentic taste. Some customers express a desire for more vegetarian options, such as the beloved Halloumi burgers found in the UK.
The service was a bit slow, but the order was right, and the food was good.

At BK... have it your way!! You Rule?? Not at this location?? I always stop here to get a hash browns when I'm traveling on my way to the airport. I stopped this time and the bathroom was gross and the customer service was even Worse?? I ordered a medium hash browns and it was $3... ok sticker shock. The woman took my order and I paid for it. Then she turned around and went to the corner and started talking to somebody in the back of the restaurant. I just stand at the counter waiting. 30 seconds pass. 60 seconds pass. Almost 2 minutes pass?? Hello?? Can I have my food please?? It would have been different if she had to walk to the back of the building to get the food? The hash browns were two feet in front of us right there the whole time??! I had to ask a young man that came from the back of the building to give me my hash browns which he did. I would have loved to ask for the manager. But the woman who took my order "WAS" the manager. They seem to be running the place now like they know it's going to close in 2 months and it just don't care. Not sure. There might be some good people in here and something's telling me there might be some good people in here but maybe they are just discouraged and burned out I don't know?? I didn't feel valued as a customer this time.

Standard BK. Counter help should be taught how to be more engaging and friendly.

Waited in the drive though for at least 10 minutes waiting on someone to take our order, it was 10:17AM when someone finally answered and took it. Upon ordering, they told us there was no hash browns but we had waited so long, we couldn’t get breakfast anywhere else so we still proceeded to order. When getting to the window, we were handed our 2 drinks and only half of our order. We waited again to receive the rest of our order and then realized we had no straws for our drinks, so we waited again for straws. Won’t be returning to this location.

Ronnie O — Google review
3 times in a row now, food was either missing or made incorrectly. Gotten to the point where I’m not interested in the free food offers for constant mistakes. Doors are always locked, and the drive thru will make you park at the front while they walk it out to you 10-15 mins later. The lack of desire to send out good - correct food, as well as the slow pace is why I’m giving 2 stars

Smoothie King is a health-focused chain that offers a variety of blended drinks with fruits and vegetables. Customers appreciate the delicious taste of the smoothies, although some have raised concerns about flies during summer due to open doors attracting insects. Despite being understaffed at times, orders are efficiently fulfilled. The store manager is praised for maintaining high standards and creating consistently great-tasting smoothies. The staff's exceptional customer service and patience in fulfilling specific orders contribute to an overall positive experience for customers.
Smoothie King is my absolute favorite place for a delicious and healthy treat! I love how their menu has so many options, whether I need a quick meal replacement, something post-workout, or just a refreshing snack. Everything always tastes super fresh, and I appreciate how easy it is to customize my smoothie with extra protein or vitamins. The staff is always friendly and quick, which makes the whole experience even better. Plus, the store is always clean and has a great vibe. If you’re looking for a healthier alternative, I’d totally recommend giving Smoothie King a try!

I created a scheduled delivery order at 9:11. It was supposed to be here at 12. I never received it so I called the store. Their interface said that my order had been completed so I requested a refund. They ensured me that it was on the way and so I waited another hour. Remained nowhere to be found; I called back the store and was told that once it leaves their premises it’s no longer their problem. As this is a business being run for the sake of customers happiness I’m absolutely appalled. They stole my money without giving me what I ordered or any sort of useful assistance. Definitely do not recommend. I find this especially upsetting as it’s the only smoothie king in Charlottesville. I’ll definitely be turning to local businesses instead from now on. Turning away from problems created by a delivery company YOU guys chose to partner with is a gross shirking of responsibility.

This is by far the worse Starbucks I’ve been too. On a normal day it’s tolerable. However, there is a tall gentleman that is a shift supervisor, if you walk in and he’s working. Just turn around and try another store. You will recognize him by the stupid way he wears his hat. On two separate occasions I’ve had to ask for my money back because the order is taking longer than it should. Customers waiting and he is always busy talking and distracting other employees. You can see the frustration on their faces while he does it. On the first occasion, I even told him exactly how I felt and reminded him that if he’s going to be a supervisor, it’s his role to set the example and lead. I gave it a few weeks and tried them again. 15 minutes had passed and still no drink, meanwhile all my food items got cold. I demanded a refund again. An employee had just walked in and tended to my request. In front of me the supervisor told him in the future never do that again without checking with a supervisor. I spoke up and ask him if he really was trying to correct the actions of the only person that tended to my needs and if he thought that was appropriate to do right in front of me. As usual he gave me a blank stare as if he is under the influence of something. I also want to point out that I go to Starbucks everyday, visit stores in different cities and states and this is the first store where I’ve encountered multiple issues and they seem to be stemming from the same person. If I was the manager he would be demoted at best or terminated.

Though the food there is good and I like the atmosphere, I no longer visit this store. I’ve always been very polite, funny and pleasant with the staff there and they have usually been the same with me. But lately I’ve noticed a few on the staff act like the customer is an imposition. The last time I went in there the barista was unusually short with me, then just put my coffee on the counter and walked away briskly. It’s like they were condescending and contemptuous. That’s how the entire interaction felt, even though I was very pleasant, almost cordial. So I’m not sure what’s been with this change at this store lately. But I vote with my wallet. I’ll not being going in there again any time soon.

Update: I'm changing my review again to five stars. Starbucks now has a prominent sign requiring masks consistent with the Virginia state mandate. National and local leadership listened to me and others and have acted with social responsibility. Previous post: Starbucks is now displaying a sign at their entrance requesting that customers wear a mask. This is a great improvement over their previous barely visible display. Because they have improved socially responsibility, I am increasing my rating and will purchase items again. To those age 18 - 35 and prime Starbucks customers, I implore you to wear masks, which reduce transmission of corona virus by 70%. When you wear a mask, you are showing you care about grandparents, people with heart and lung conditions, and people going through cancer treatment. Albemarle County cases are on the rise, so now is the time to get serious rather than apathetic.

McDonald's is a classic fast-food chain that has stood the test of time, famous for its iconic burgers and fries. While some might say their burgers can be a bit messy with sauces dripping and pickles haphazardly added, they certainly hit the spot when you're craving something late at night. The Caramel Sundae and cookies are delightful treats to complement your meal.
I went through the drive-thru during my visit, and the experience was quick and efficient. The ordering process was smooth, and my food came out fast, which was great. The food itself was hot, fresh, and tasted just as expected from McDonald’s. The staff was polite but not overly engaging they got the job done without much small talk. Overall, it was a convenient and satisfying stop for a quick meal on the go.

Thee food wasn't bad. The sandwich tastes like every other fast food chicken sandwich. The fries were delicious. The chicken nuggets were not good; I don't understand the hype. It was really cheap. Nuggets, fries, drink, and sandwich. All for five bucks. Not bad!
Alexavier M — Google review
This is consistently one of the worst fast food places I've ever been to. There's not a lot of options in this area, so occasionally I'll come by and forget how sad this place really is. Noone wants to help people inside and will deliberately make them selves non available or hidden. When you do eventually get your food... It's been about 50/50 if the order is correct, due to the amount of time spent waiting to begin with and not wanting confrontation I've ended up throwing out my food multiple times... This place is just sad... Stay away. The only saving grace is the entertainment you get from people losing their patience and walking behind the counter to give people cups or yelling to get others attention.
Adam L — Google review
I’ve been wanting to review this McDonald’s for a very long time. I have never been there where I have gotten hot fresh decent food. I wish I knew who owned that franchise so I could call them because it’s horrible. It is the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to it’s sad because there’s not many choices up here at the crossroads, but that McDonald’s is horrible. In every way I have never reviewed a place this harshly or bad. Do not waste your money. it’s expensive to eat out nowadays I went there for a fish sandwich, small fry and a small specialty drink $13. The fish sandwich was crusted and hard all the way around. I said no cheese it had cheese And the drink was bitter, but that happens every time I go there which is less and less, but every once in a while, I think well maybe I’m craving some french fries from McDonald’s maybe they’ll be fresh and good maybe 20% of the time you’ll get fresh french fries don’t ever order a fish sandwich because that’s been sitting under a heat lamp for Probably 24 hours. Whoever owns that franchise you need to pay attention. The only reason you’re making money is because there’s not much to choose from around this small area once it builds up and there’s more choices you might as well close I’m sorry, but this is so harsh. You need to do a lot of work to that McDonald’s and the company needs to know how horrible your franchisees.
Jannine A — Google review
The young lady at the window around 6:45 was super sweet and very respectful. As for the food. It was horrible the cheeseburgers tasted old. The chicken nuggets were hard as a rock, way over cooked. Frustrating to spend $40+ on food for it to be so nasty.

You did good out of five stores I've been to you're one of two that had that new toys out on time! Congrats well managed store. You get a 4.99999999999999 out of 5. Pleasant people working in the Drive-Thru food looks good haven't tried it yet ordered a medium cook I got a large it's a dollar so they gave me the upgrade for free you know another plus. I like them. The reason no five the toys are $1.50 which is too high they should be a dollar.

Staff needs training. Orders are often wrong, for instance, right now I’m eating a Big Mac with only one patty. Check your bag before you leave, they tend to forget items as well.

Always a long wait for bad food. Tastes so bad. You will be solicited by a non housed person and they will be rude when you politely decline to feed them. Staff need to clear out people going around the dining room asking for handouts.
