Amarillo, Texas skyline: the 42 most iconic buildings and best views in Amarillo

We definitely went here for the hype! As tourists, we couldn’t miss this famous Amarillo landmark. I don’t think many locals eat here often, but it’s one of those iconic spots you just have to experience at least once. We started with fried pickles, which were absolutely delicious. I also tried the spicy mango margarita, but it was way too sweet and syrupy for my taste. For dinner, we ordered two 12-oz Fort Worth cuts with sides, one with broccoli and mashed potatoes, and the other with fried okra and corn. The steaks (medium and medium-well) were just average, nothing extraordinary. The steaks were flavorful but had more fatty and chewy portions than I’d prefer. The fried okra and mashed potatoes were solid 10/10! What really made the visit memorable was the atmosphere. We even got to watch someone attempt the famous 72-oz steak challenge, which was so fun to see. Our waitress, April, was very friendly, attentive, and polite. Overall, the food itself wasn’t anything special, but the experience and vibe make it worth visiting at least once. This isn’t your typical steakhouse, it’s a landmark with a fun, lively atmosphere you won’t forget. Gift shop is nice and I bought some souvenirs.

We were excited to visit the restaurant and when we walked in and was seated right away and seeing the atmosphere we were happy until it came time to get waited on. We kept getting told our waitress would be with us and kept getting told without service. Then waitress showed up and told another waitress she didnt want to wait on us because she had other things to do so we had to wait more, finally a different waitress waited on us and food was good and plates were well served. Prices match the plates. Did watch the 72oz steak challenge. Wish experience could have been better especially driving so far just to see the hype..

I was looking forward to trying out this place especially after seeing it enjoyed from afar by others. Life finally took me to Texas and I made sure this place was on the route taken. I came away from it, like many do after meeting their hero's, very disappointed. We walked in, no reservations and were sat right away, in the nick of time too, as the crowd came shortly after. We ordered a couple of apps, the onion rings and a half-order of the Smothered Barbeque Texas Fries. The onion rings were okay, they looked way better than they tasted, way too much breading that fell off. The fries stole the show. They had a weird flavor when trying the individual components, together, as a dish, they were probably the best fries we've ever had. As for the main course, the steaks, that's where the problems begin. Actually the steaks weren't the problem, it was the person/people, running the grill. I got the 32oz Double Duke, ordered medium. It was butterflied, but the temperature was all over the place. Some parts were next to rare, other parts, very well done. My guest ordered the double filet, which was 2-8oz fillets, again, ordered medium. To say they came out still mooing would be an understatement. The outside was very well done, but the inside was raw. We told the server about this, she was very understanding and took it back to the kitchen to continue cooking. 20 or so minutes later, not exaggerating, they were brought back. One was super well done, the other, wasn't even touched, still extremely rare. We gave up, told the server again and it was removed from the bill. This turned into a very disappointed experience, that I don't wish upon others. A steakhouse that can't cook steak. Don't waste your time or money, many, much better options, are around.

I'm not gonna lie, I came to try the 72oz challenge. I try to avoid carbs, so they let me sub the potato for a second salad. There was another man that just started the challenge before me, so I was extra motivated to do it with someone else. When it came out, it ws definitely a monster steak. My only complaint is that it was very chewy. I understand, it's a sirloin, but it was tough. I eat 3-4 lbs of beef every day (I'm on a carnivore diet) and have no issues doing so. Even very fatty and gristley meat is fine with me. The sirloin they serve you for the challenge seemed like very dense and tough fibrous meat. I'm not complaining, it was very tasty and I had a blast doing the challenge but if the steak were a ribeye or at least had more fat, I could've gotten it down faster. I simply ran out of time from chewing. I even tried tearing everything into tiny bites by hand to make them easier to chew. The guy that started before me said he was simply full and gave up. If I had more time I would've been fine, I simply couldn't chew it that fast. The salad was simple lettuce, the shrimp were butterflied and fried (I scraped the breading off) and I didn't try the roll. There was no reason to force the carbs if I couldn't finish the steak in time. During the challenge, people came up to get pictures like we were famous. That was kind of interesting. After the challenge, I received a t-shirt that said I tried, I was able to keep the boot cup you drink from, and I got a napkin as a souvenir. Overall, it was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. Next time I visit, I'll get the 36oz ribeye instead. I'm sure it'll be a better flavor and experience, since I crave higher fat content.

If you are Big Hungry I would recommend you try this Big Texan steak ranch and brewery! It is very loud, lively and touristy with a lot to see. It was nice checking out the gift shop as there was quite a wait to get seated. If you have a fear of snakes I recommend you don’t go to the back of the gift shop! A big and very real Rattler was in a class aquarium. I had a big steak, Not a 72 ounce big steak but still big. I saw a few people complete that challenge and I was very impressed because they did not have Heavy set Statures at all. I don’t know where they put it all away. Since their challenge was live streamed with overhead cameras there definitely was no funny business. They won that challenge fair and square. I really enjoyed the fresh warm buns and the Carrot cake was realllllllly good! Will definitely go back hopefully at a less busy time. Our waitress was friendly enough but had to run around like a chicken with its head cut off because it was super busy. As fun and lively as the atmosphere is, we were sat at a big long table with perfect strangers. Luckily our table mates were good courteous people if we were sat with loud rude people it would have been a different experience all together.

A little confusion on where to get in line for seating and staff just let us stand there instead of giving direction. Once we got to the correct line, we were seat quickly. Our server was great and they all made the atmosphere fun and lively. Not being from the area, I wasn't expecting my steak to be cooked plain in the grill. It was cooked correctly just not seasoned. Loved the variety of sides! Would definitely repeat coming here if ever in the area again!

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum is an unexpected gem—both educational and beautifully presented. We weren’t sure what to expect going in, but it quickly became one of our favorite museum stops of the trip. The exhibits are well-designed, combining art, history, and hands-on learning in a way that’s engaging for both kids and adults. You don’t have to be a horse expert to enjoy this place—it’s really about American heritage, sportsmanship, and the deep bond between humans and horses. One of the highlights was the Hall of Fame section, which honors legendary horses and influential people in the Quarter Horse world. The statues and portraits are stunning, and the digital displays made it easy to dive deeper into each story. The timeline of horse history and interactive exhibits also added depth, helping even the kids stay engaged throughout our visit. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the woman at the front desk went out of her way to give us context and tips on how to make the most of our time there. The building is beautiful and well-maintained, with ample parking and easy access from I-40. Whether you’re a fan of Western culture, American history, or just looking for a quiet and meaningful museum experience, this one is absolutely worth a stop.

Absolutely love this place keeping history alive. I remember coming here as a kid and now I was able to take my child.

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame is worth the trip and doesn't take your whole bank account with it. It was very informative and so was the staff. I learned that the first horse appeared 60 million years ago and that actors were put with numerous different horses to see which horses would work with them the best. I had no idea that Robin Williams was afraid of horses and that Mixer made such beautiful artwork. I didn't know there was a branding language or that different types of horses were used for different purposes. I loved that they had an amphitheater and a little art room area. It was nice and cool. I really like the timelines that wrapped around the room and information about jockeys/horse races.

A surprising find. The museum serves to honor the people who have been instrumental in the industry and the horses who made it all possible. It also provides a lot of information about the story of breeding and the popularity of horses throughout their history.Definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful place. The museum is only open Tuesday through Saturday so we didn't get to see that. But pretty interesting information on the outside along with statue's and a wall that has names of past horses, riders, Jockey's, owners etc.

Spent the entire day here with our seven kids. We loved every minute of it. It was more to do then we could get done and the kids did not grow tired of the time at all. In fact, they were disappointed when we had to go get lunch late in the day. Definitely one of the headlights of Amarillo area. It is awesome and it’s even fun for adults. Your kids probably won’t want to wait through all of the different learning elements but they’ll definitely love all the activities. Glad we went and look forward to going back again.

Wow! What an awesome place! This is the hot spot for your junior naturalist/future scientist! We were passing through from Colorado and looking for somwhere to take the kids on our route. Our 4 year old twins had a blast! We enjoyed it as well! It was hard to pick a favorite because every part was great! I did love the tree house area with the scat and track displays and the birds of prey taxidermy! We didn't realize how fun it would be and wish we could've stayed longer. We stayed about 3 hours. In that time we explored the whole center and even got to watch a movie in the planetarium. The gift shop was small, but very affordable! Check this place out ESPECIALLY if you have kids!

Such a cool spot for kids of all ages. Our 1-2 year olds enjoyed a very full 2 hours of indoor and outdoor play and we didn't see everything there was to see. Tons to do for older kids. We'll be back!

My son had an amazing time at summer camp at the Discovery Center for five weeks! Each week had a new fun theme, which made it exciting for him. I felt happy sending him there because the program was structured and included lots of fun learning. He even got to visit Wildcat Bluff every week! The camp seemed well organized, and I always felt it was a safe place for him. The staff were friendly and really cared about the kids. I would definitely recommend this camp!

This is such a wonderful place to bring kids of all ages and adults at all ages. There's something new to see so often and the permanent exhibits are great! So good for immersive learning and fun! Highly, highly recommend. Also a great place to go for homeschool families to learn about science.

Loved going here as a kid 25+ years ago and exploring all the cool exhibits. For a kid, it's an easy way to learn about science, while simultaneously having a great time.

Small, easy to locate museum. Great for toddlers to elementary aged kids. A lot to see and do hands on. Takes about 2 hours to go through. Worth the money for admission, pack a lunch or keep your receipt for same day admission

I had an amazing and knowledgeable experience. This was a wonderful museum. Great collection of gray sand stone sculptures.

This is a nice little museum and it is free admission! They have quite a collection of sculptures and statues from Southeast Asia. I wouldn't have expected that from such a small museum. It was pretty neat though! Aside from that, the rest of the museum still had a decent variety for how small it was. I spent about an hour here, but you could get through faster. I was the only person there too, which was surprising. Overall, worth a stop in my opinion.

The small art museum had a wonderful and beautiful collection of sculpture, prints, paintings, textiles and decorative arts from South/Southeast Asia, Japan and the Middle East. At the time, the museum also had an exhibition of artworks selected by a juror from works submitted by artists residing within a 600-mile radius of Amarillo. It cost zero dollars to enter, donate what you wish/afford.

It’s a quick tour of 30-45 mins, has 2 levels. It’s for free. There are ample spaces for parking and has restrooms as well. Has small library. There are lot of broken statues of Indian gods which is sad, there are bronze statues of Ganesha, Natrajar etc. Front desk associate patient enough to say about museum. Must visit if you are around Amarillo.

Small art museum stop. They had some cool works of art, but it’s not a very big museum. They have a large collection of Asian art, and a floor dedicated to college artists.

AMOA is free but suggested $5 donation. Gentleman at the entrance greeted us and informed us some of the art had nudity or offensive words. There are three levels which you go at your own pace. Small art museum but worth the visit while in Amarillo. The homes in the surrounding area are also worth a drive.

A small but well kept art museum. They only have 1 permanent exhibit (Asian art) so you can keep coming back to see what's new! They have children's classes and even a little inspiration studio for kids with mini projects to create.

Great fun. Go on board a DC-3, NASA trainer, and a C7-A. Limited space for the exhibits makes it a little overwhelming. Lots to see! If you can’t figure out how to get in the sign in the street points to the door you enter. See pics.

The museum was decent. The gentleman who took outside to look at the planes and helicopter was excellent. Glad he showed and explained everything to us.

Didn't plan to visit here while in town, but found it on the map and had extra time. We're glad we made that decision! Had a great time. There is a lot to see for a small museum. Looking forward to supporting the drive to expand to a larger facility.

I had 90 minutes before I needed to be at the airport, and I made this a stop -- and what a wonderful stop it was. being able to go an experience the planes "hands-on" with knowledgeable guides who made it interesting and fun. You get the stories behind the exhibits which you don't usually see. One of the highlights of my week!

Nice place to visit, but it's a bit hard to find. We did go inside the facility. We did not get to see the outside displays. I am guessing they use volunteers to manage the museum.

I had a warm and calming experience here. An amazing plethora of items. The nice woman there welcome me with kindness. Wonderful and educational museum to visit.

As a heritage center this place is overflowing with history, artifacts, displays and a passionate and knowledgeable staff. During a recent trip on the Memorial Day weekend the wife and I made a stop to see what we could learn and experience. Inside is plenty of artwork that can be purchased, tours, and a more hands on scouting exhibit. When you enter you are greeted by a dance hall which has seating and plenty of plains art, totems, and other regalia. From there, as you move through the exhibits, and display cases, there is plenty of information on things that we may recognize from movies or television: head dresses, weapons, masks and other sorts but help you realize what tribes they represent, and their importance. In fact during my visits there were some First Nation folks there to gather more about their history. If you have visited History of the plains museum in Rapid City, you will love this place too.

Had the pleasure of visiting. What a wonderful place. Anyone interested in Native American should stop by. The hours vary by season check before going. They have event room they rent out. Stop by to support this all volunteer museum.

Great visit for Indigenous Peoples’ Weekend. We were lucky enough to visit during a dance practice so we had a nice soundtrack while touring the art and artifacts

If I could give more stars I would. The Kwahadi (pronounced "Kwadi")are a subtribe of the Cherokee. The museum is really dedicated to ALL Western /Plains and even the Mexican tribes. FANTASTIC art and artifacts are available to see. The people are very knowledgeable and friendly and the private collection of art and books from Mr. Thomas Mails was breathtaking to see the original art used in his books. This is a MUST SEE when you are in the area. Hours are limited to 1pm-4:30pm Sat and Sunday. You will need several hours to really see all the items in this dedicated muse

One of the best native Indian museum

Absolutely recommend! Looks closed when they have posted 'open' hours so don't worry if the parking lot is empty..they are open! Art enthusiasts, history buffs, educational opportunists will love this place. Spent an hour there and felt like I just grazed the surface of the depth and unique details this place has to offer. Really enjoyed my visit and plan to go again. Free entry, bathroom facilities, wheelchair accessible, knowledgeable volunteers.

The collection is incredible — from beautifully restored classics to rare vintage models you won’t see anywhere else. You can really tell how much passion and care goes into maintaining every single vehicle. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and they make you feel right at home. Whether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast or just looking for something unique to do in Amarillo, this place is a must-visit. I left inspired and can’t wait to come back again!

One word for this place is AMAZING. Amazing collection of vintage vehicles that you won’t see anywhere else. The history behind this place is equally as interesting if not extraordinary. Much RESPECT to the gentlemen that take care of this collection, they will answer any questions and give you fun facts on each piece of art. Much respect to Bill (R.I.P.) and his family for allowing the public to view his collection.

Such an awesome place! Bill’s Backyard Classic is packed with amazing old cars and cool stories behind them! The staff is super knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The whole vibe is super chill and welcoming — definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. Great experience all around!

Wow! What an incredible collection of cars, lovingly restored and maintained and all in excellent condition. We spent 90 minutes here and, if we lived in the area, we'd probably visit again! My fave? The Pontiac 2+2

We found this while looking for things to do in Amarillo on a road trip, and it was definitely worth the $12 admission if you enjoy classic cars and not your average cars at that!

This is an absolute local GEM. Don't miss the opportunity to take the FREE tour offered by schedule on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The guides are a blessing to give us all of the information that they do, and my GOODNESS the art and decor details!! My grandma and I went this morning and I loved every minute! Wish we would have had longer to look at every single thing. Please check it out and tell your friends!

We had a wonderful free tour of this historic home on a Thursday with a 24 hour email reservation. You have to be able to climb stairs. The volunteers did a great job of sharing the gifted Harrington family home with us. We highly recommend this hour long tour when in the area.

Beautiful place to see and experience. Well worth the time to go. I sent a request in and was able to get in the next day, although, I would suggest reserving a bit more in advance. The place is beautifully preserved - you get a real insight into how the "upper 2%" lived in the 50's and 60's. Well worth seeing.

A tremendously beautiful building. Ok, I am a bit biased - my great grandfather built this home. It's worth a trip to see it and hear the history, but be forewarned, you must schedule tours and they are limited.

I've always loved the drive-in, it's such a fun time! The new owners have made some great changes. I love ordering concessions online - it cut down on the massive lines and waiting around. Very friendly service and interactions. Awesome experience all around!

This drive-in is awesome! Definitely worth it if you're looking for something fun to do in Amarillo. The people working there were so friendly and welcoming. I thought the concessions were very reasonably priced and they had a great variety of things to choose from. They also have a great playground for the kids to play on before the movies start. Highly recommend!

It was so nostalgic to be able to go to a drive-in again! I haven't been in about 20 years. They had a great selection of snacks, drinks and beer. Definitely worth getting the car load pass if you have more than three adults. Food pass is $10. While I hadn't heard of this before, it makes sense to me. Playground for the kids near the screen. Remember to bring your chairs, blankets, pillows. We're visiting from out of town, and didn't have any but we made the best of it. Chair rentals might be a good future amenity. We Drove In ... ha ha. Good times. It's pretty cool sharing the same experience I had with my Kids now. Minus the crackle'y speakers hanging on your car window & mosquitoes.

First I will start by simply saying WOW. My misses and I hadnt been since we were kids and with the recent events that have happened in town, we wanted to support locally and go on a date night and landed on this because of there amazing advertising on the facebook page. So we got her little cousin and set off to watch two disney movies this evening. As soon as we got to the gate, we were greeted by the friendliest man who if I remember correctly is named brent. This man was amazing, gave us an entire run down of the place and other local businesses with coupons and alot of information! Then we paid our entry and food pass and found a great spot! They have a nice area for the kiddos to play so we killed sometime by swinging and playing on a merry go round which is wild to say in the year 2025 so thank you for that nostalgic ride. The little one mentioned being hungry and so we got to check out the concessions online and placed an order and within 10 minutes, we had a variety of hot, fresh food to enjoy with our movies! The staff at both lines were so so kind and im thankful for them all as well! Personal plus for me was having to go to the bathroom and being afraid to miss a moment in the movie when as im doing what I gotta do, I hear the audio from the movie playing on a speaker in the bathroom!!! This was an amazing night of family fun and im excited to come back here as much as I can this and all further seasons. Thank you all for providing a nice affordable place for amarillo residents and visitors alike to come together and have a good time!

We love coming to the drive through! The customer service is amazing and Bret (the ticket man) is so welcoming and outgoing. We enjoy seeing him every time we come. Their concession stand has so many great options and the food is pretty good!

Great experience, with even better prices. I spent a total of $50 to see two movies & get my family of 4 the exact concessions they wanted! We will now go back frequently because we ALL had such a great time. The kids even got to meet Stitch!

Every area that has Route 66 passing through it is a little different, and this is how it should be. This section seems to pass through what was downtown Amerillo in the 40s and 50s. Kind of what I spent my early years in up in up north. The buildings are all maintained as original, which is good to see. It has a very heavy concentration of bars and a few restaurants. It appears the area is self funding which is nice to see as the buildings can be maintained and not run down as some areas of Route 66 have. From what we could see, it is a safe area, and if you are looking for a drink, it could be a fun experience. It's definitely worth seeing. We did find the Tucumcari stretch of Route 66 to be more family-friendly. Naturally, every section is different, which is why seeing it all is worthwhile.

What a great place! Not only was the photo opp lovely, but the host was also very friendly! He gave us commemorative badges and a map. There were also lots of interesting merchandise. I highly recommend anyone passing by to check it out!

Route 66 landmark- also known as the ‘Mother Road’. The Will Rogers Highway, Main Street of America is a historic highway in the US that runs from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California.

This is a MUST GO if your in the area. Lots of bar and grills and neat shops.

According to what I read, this is a historic part of route 66, and as we saw several shops, you can sit down and eat or have drinks not to mention the paintings on the walls. Nice few blocks to see when you pass by

What can you say about Main Street USA in Amarillo? There’s a great selection of places to explore, eat, drink and buy your souvenirs and collectible. It will take all day and maybe more to visit all the stores in this area. Come hungry, come thirsty and bring plenty of spending money.

If you saw the animated movie cars you will recognize some of the buildings as similar to key sets in the film. It's a fun detour, doesn't take long and if you like shopping it's all there .

Very fascinating sculpture of a sundial commemorating the centennial anniversary of helium. I am always fascinated by these sculptures.

Nice little place to visit during a long road trip

Nice place to visit near the botanical gardens regarding the history of helium here in Amarillo. Also, the old helium plant is not far from here on Amarillo Blvd on the western edge of town. This monument used to be near I-40 and was visible to anyone passing through Amarillo. But it was moved to this location in 1982. The signs and plaques could use a good cleaning and refurbishment, but the stainless steel monument looks great.

Took my son here a few years ago. It was neat to see how far apart the capsules were dated and it really makes you think. Lots will have changed and the people opening these will think, we're so outdated! Really neat place to randomly stop if you're driving around that area.

My husband and I were looking to kill some time and found this and glad we did. This was an awesome monument to learn of and very educational. After reading about it we learned it’s also a sundial. It was cloudy the day we went but evening did get to see it tell time. Awesome must see! We will be back in 2068! 😉

Something going on almost every day or weekend great fun for the whole family sometimes or an adult night out the people that cater tonight from Wesley's barbecue for the Randall County banquet was amazing special thanks to all the staff that works so hard at the Civic center to make sure that the event went amazing I couldn't be happier the food was the best part of the evening I'm so glad Amarillo event has chosen to use the best

Enjoyed 3 separate Peak Fighting Championship events here in the past 2 years. Great venue and an even better cage crew staff. We love coming to Amarillo

When I finally got the chance to check out the Amarillo Civic Centre Complex, I was really impressed. The facility is impressive in its size and layout, making it simple to go around. The venue's splendour immediately struck me upon entering. The fantastic variety of amenities was one thing that really stuck out to me. The facility is well-equipped to meet the needs of its guests, from the plentiful parking spaces to the plush sitting options. The amenities were immaculately clean and well-kept, creating a warm and welcome ambiance. The Amarillo Civic Centre Complex is an impressive architectural feat and a lively meeting place for the community. Large groups of people can be accommodated in the complex without any discomfort, making it ideal for concerts, conferences, and exhibitions. The adaptability of the building's various rooms is remarkable. Thanks to the well-marked corridors and accessible receptionists, getting about the complex was a breeze. The organisation is straightforward, so readers won't be daunted by the volume of material presented. My time spent in the Amarillo Civic Centre Complex was, on the whole, a fantastic one. Its central location in Amarillo, in addition to its size, amazing amenities, and versatility, make it a hidden gem. This complex is really worth checking out, whether for events or just to see what's within.

It is a beautiful building although it is the worst place for a high school graduation. The speakers were horrible and didn’t work well and I did not see that they have any area for people that are handicapped and their seats are very very small and not fit for people that are obese.

Great facility. Parking can be a challenge if you want to be close to the building, but there are options within walking distance.

What a wonderful contribution to the local community! This venue works for rock concerts and orchestra, plays and speaking. Full pit and fantastic acoustics and seating.

We went to see Rigoletto (Opera). The sound in this venue was great. The seats are roomy and good amount of leg room in the rows. Nice venue. The staff was very friendly.

The theatre we were in was rather extraordinary. Very unusual … special interior.. great acoustics… would like to visit again.

This event center is very nice and well maintained. The chairs are comfortable, the stairs are easily manageable, and they have an elevator available. There’s a bar on the second floor with beverages- alcohol and non. The restrooms are accommodating so there’s usually not a line. They do need more parking, but I don’t know where they’d put it. The civic center is across the street and you can park there.

These are awesome acoustics and if you don't know the backstory on how they hired Disney design people you should look it up.

The annual Railroad Museum Open House is fun! It's neat to see all the model trains, tracks, and tracks! The old pantex train cars are a great snapshot of our history!

Excellent experience. Knowledgable staff and truly amazing display of the "White Train" the display under construction in the building represents so much history of the railroad in the area.

A little out of the way and closed when we visited but we were able to view the cars of the White Train that are displayed outside

The only highlight is the rare helium car and an old Alco Switcher. The rest of the complete collection of outdoor exhibits is defunct nuclear cars that would most likely need an explanation. Inside the building (not a depot) is a model train layout, but we couldn't see it. This place has been deemed "temporally closed until further notice" due to the covid scare.

This is a neat place to visit. The people that run it are really great with telling you about the place. Very friendly. Was free to enter but did have a donation box.

This is a hidden gem in the southwest for train enthusiasts - and worth working around the limited hours. The staff there are friendly, knowledgeable about TX rail history, model rail roading, and willing to help young/new rail enthusiasts' move forward.. The engine and cars are from a unique period of American history (moving nuclear weapons around the country from 1950's thru 1980's). The HO train layout is a work of love under construction. A shout out to every present 11 July for making my grandson's day with their stories, advice, guidance.

Awesome model train setup! Also a great historic showcase of train cars from the cold war era. Great job! A work in progress but definitely worth the time to go see! Definitely a must see in Amarillo.

We had a very good experience here today. We came in famished after a long hike in the canyon and wanted a drink and an appetizer to hold us over until our dinner reservations later in the evening. It’s a little strange because the staff are all dressed the same in very short dresses with black stockings that seemed pretty out of place mid afternoon but whatever. We sat at the bar and our server was super pleasant and attentive. She made great appetizer recommendations which we followed and were very pleased with the quality of the food. The music was low enough to be able to converse comfortably, the lighting was nice and the chairs were comfortable. I would recommend upgrading the napkin quality. The prices were high but not absurdly so, maybe 10-15% higher than I felt they should have been but we were still pleased with our choice to come here.

My wife and I had an early dinner at CRUSH at 5pm on a Saturday. The overall aesthetic of the dinning room was cool, clean & modern. They had very nice smelling hand soap in the bathroom. The menu was overpriced. The house salad w/ peach vinaigrette was okay. The double wagyu smash burger & fries was okay. The service was okay. The Nashville chicken was burnt & the bleu cheese coleslaw was overkill. I could taste no spice on the chicken whatsoever. We spent $81.89 including tip.

Crush was a nice lunch option in downtown Amarillo. Wasn't blown away by anything in particular, but the prices were fair, service was quick, and I enjoyed the atmosphere inside. Didn't actually try any wine at this wine bar so can't give an opinion!

Went for an early dinner my husband and I sat at the bar. Got some drinks that were pretty good. I wanted to order the crab shrimp cocktail, was informed it’s no longer available, still on the menu. So I decided to get the seared tuna. My husband got the peach salad with chicken added. (I wish I would have taken a picture it looked nothing like the salad they have a picture of, there was very little blue cheese and not sure there were pecans at all. Mostly a big ole bowl of just lettuce. My husband had to ask for more dressing for some flavor. When my seared tuna came out I have to say I was pretty shocked at the look of the $32 dish!!! Plain rice seared tuna and a few pickles!!! It was really disappointing. People working the bar were friendly and helpful.

Food and service was awesome. We had a group of about 20 people so obviously the servers couldn’t handle everything immediately, but we understood with how big of a group it was. They were still fantastic and you could tell that service was at the top of their list. I got the steak and they cooked it exactly how I wanted. The Brussels sprouts I got we shared and everyone loved them. Will definitely be back again.

Loved this place! Crush Wine Bar has such a great vibe — classy but relaxed. The wine selection is amazing, the food is delicious, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Perfect spot for a night out or a chill evening with friends!

Came for dinner earlier this week and was utterly disappointed. The food was good, can't complain too much there, however it was the bartenders, staff, and overall morale of the employees. They seemed to be more focused on interpersonal relationships and drama more than the service they provided their guests. Service was almost non-existent from anyone who stepped behind the bar. At times it was difficult to know who was actually the bartender. Not to mention the vulgar stories they were telling (not so quietly) which were upsetting in many ways. Would not recommend anyone come here for dinner and drinks.

I visited Palace Coffee Company in Amarillo and absolutely loved the experience! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the pastries were fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely one of the best coffee spots in Amarillo — highly recommended!

Service and dining area were fine. The coffee was the worst I ever tasted amd the quiche was just as bad. I MUST ADD: the manager was kind enough to reach out to me and apologize . She even refunded the cost of my items. I found that as an outstanding way to make sure her customers were satisfied. I was very surprised and want to thank her for something I NEVER expected. I will eventually give Coffee Palace another visit, hoping to find a brew that I like.

100/10. Where to start…the baristas are absolutely *chefs kiss*. Atmosphere: 100. Coffee: 🤤 from the moment we walked in the baristas were amazing. They were very friendly and cheerful. The cashier (maybe the manager?) was so sweet and patient with our questions and everyone else in line as well. She gave amazing recommendations and guided us to some unique options. We ended up getting a Dr. Pepper Cold Brew and the Prickly Pear Matcha. Both delicious! The cold brew is strong but smooth and the matcha was well balanced between flavors and sweetness. The customer service here really made the visit top notch! (we were visiting from out of town) I wish I knew the baristas names because we truly enjoyed them. Thank you!!

This is a nice place to hang out for business or catch up with friends and family. There is plenty of seating. They have a good pastry selection. The coffees taste amazing. The staff were all nice and accommodating. We ordered the Palace Shake and it was one of the best shakes I have ever tasted! We will be back soon.

Really cool place to visit! There is a lot of information around this outdoor museum. We enjoyed looking through all of the memorials from various wars. A must stop if you're in the Amarillo area.

I visited the Memorial in 2024 as part of the September 11, 2001 Tribute. The grounds are beautiful and Memorial Stones that honor America's fallen soldiers are well placed and very moving. The Museum is spectacular. Kudos to Frank for allowing me to view the exhibits.

The welcome we received was exceptional even though we were not Veterans. A gentleman walks around with you and tells you stories of local Veterans and then they allow you to walk around by yourself. Very inspirational and real. Stop by and see them you will not be disappointed

Wow! I discovered this little treasure while visiting Amarillo. It's a beautiful, solemn acknowledgment of our brave military men and women, who dedicated their lives to serve. I felt so proud, as I reflected on my grandfather, uncles and friends who have served. Unfortunately, COVID 19, has the museum portion closed, but I look forward to seeing what wonderful history awaits inside. Who knew I'd find such a place in Amarillo?! Thank you to each person who has sacrificed their life to serve, protect and secure my safety and freedom. May God always protect and bless our countrymen who serve!

best man I ever knew my uncle Stanley, he was a paratrooper and a Amarillo police officer his marriage was the last one performed at what used to be a Randal county court house next to the memorial . When he died the world lost a great man . Love the memorial it is where I go to remember my uncle Stan.

Even after the city inspector and mall leadership are shown this over a year ago, it appears like they are willing to put the public at risk rather than spend the money to ensure the structure is safe for the public.

I noticed that many stores in this mall have closed, including Forever 21 and several others. It’s surprising and a bit disappointing to see so many empty spaces where there used to be busy shops. I’m wondering what’s happening — is it because of management, rent prices, or fewer customers visiting? It makes the mall feel less lively than before. I hope they can bring in new stores soon to make the place active and exciting again. A shopping mall should feel full of energy, not empty and quiet

Very large mall, very clean. Did not spend a lot of time shopping, it had already been a long day. Sunglass Hut is awesome and was our main reason for going to mall.

It's an okay mall, but the restrooms are dirty every single time we go. Toilet paper all on the floor, pee drops and blood stains on the toilet seats, the stalls that are somewhat clean theres no toilet paper. My friend asked them today if they could clean the restrooms because they were filthy and they were complaining to each other in a different language. You couldn't tell what they were saying but in the tine you could tell they were upset because they were asked to clean the restroom. No ody wants to use a dirty restroom especially if we are there spending our hard earned money. Please do better at keeping up with the restrooms.

West Gate Mall has changed over the years, with some empty shop locations here and there, but really clean, busy, and updated with great selections. This is definitely a nice mall.

Always find what I need when I decide to venture in. Hopefully this mall survives for a long time yet! I'm old fashioned and detest online shopping and still enjoy the mall experience.

My husband and I are owners/operators in the food service industry, so we work hard to make a memorable experience for every customer we encounter. Hard to do, so we are careful not to judge!! We planned a rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding, and were very concerned about it being up to our standards. They hit it out of the park(baseball fans)!!! We had a wonderful experience hosting our wedding reception at the Amarillo Club. The venue is naturally beautiful which provides a stunning backdrop for any event. Having catering, cake, seating and tables, dance floor, and serving ware in-house is unbelievably seamless. Working with Chef Katie to create unique catering, cocktails, and cake was flawless. Also, to top it all off, Tarah makes the entire planning process fun and worry free. Our wedding reception was one to remember thanks to the Amarillo Club!

Anyone who knows me will tell you there are very few times that I wrote reviews on a hotel/motel, or restaurant. If I do write one it a negative review. But this time. It’s not negative. Because I have been quite impressed by The Star Lodge, and the staff. And I will admit right off. That I was very apprehensive about the Star Lodge. The new owners have cleaned it up from what it was 5yrs ago. Now it is very quiet and quite comfortable, and the office staff is attentive and alert and watchful to make sure that their guests stay safe and enjoy their stay. I am quite pleased to say that I'm happy that we’re staying here. Instead of some of the other choices of motels in the area. I won’t mention the motels names. But when it comes to the Star Lodge, I am pleased to be able to write a good review. The property is clean and well lit. Rooms are clean and devoid of pests. The air-conditioning works well. The beds are comfortable. The TV has cable. The property is quiet. I find myself referring people to the Star Lodge. My family and I will stay at the Star Lodge again. So if your looking for an affordable ,clean, quiet room. The Star Lodge should be your first and only choice. It is mine. And I wanted to express my thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Star Lodge for helping to make our stay with them comfortable and pleasant.

Their staff like Jetal was just the best. The food and the bed perfect, and oh my goodness that Indian food to die for. Me and Martha never had any before and it blew us away. If im ever in the yellow city i have to stay at the Star lodge Motel make sure to spread the word on there amazing services.

I have traveled and lived all over the world, and there is no other church like this. The pastor, people, and mission all exemplify Christ’s command to go into all the world. I miss it so much and wish I still lived in the Panhandle of Texas so I once again could be a part of this amazing church!

I am not a member of this church, when I was going through one of the darkest moments I reached out to them and asked if I could hold my brother funeral service they were so nice and accommodating they held Christ-like values and I am grateful for them.

Love love love our church. Pastor Dr. Baston truly loves God and it shows. It's a very big church but it definitely doesn't feel like it. It's like family there and so many are welcomed. They have so many activities for the public and events weekly. If there is any church in town that you need to attend, it's this one!!!

Well this was an experience. It use to be you could show up at 8 am in the morning. Get in get out. Now the employees don't show up till 8:20, 8:30.By the time they do show up you are like "oh great now the line will start moving. Nope! It takes about 16 minutes to count their change and get ready. So when I finally get to talk to and employee,clearly after 8:30 they start getting frustrated with me because I can't understand their broken English.

It was a quick visit we needed to renew My mom's vehicle registration and she's paralyzed. So I go in for her!

I have been here just over two and a half weeks now. Most and best of all, it is QUIET, light, bright, airy, and clean! --- I looked at over a dozen of the large complexes. Most of what I saw was horrible with dark, dank, dirty carpet that no amount of cleaning or stretching would fix, not to mention the smell! Most overall were shabby at best. They also nickel and dime you to death on everything with separate fees for an assortment of things ranging from gas and electric to taking out the trash, etc. . . a fee for literally everything that they can tack a fee to. --- Here, at Puckett Place Apartments, there is one reasonable monthly charge for the rent that pretty appropriately reflects the market. No separate accounts for electric or gas, all bills paid, and even completely reliable high-speed internet, which has been as good as anything else that I have ever had for the 2.5 weeks that I have been here! Certainly better than paying for and dealing with the big box provider here. --- If you value QUIET, light, bright, airy, and clean, you may want to have a look here!

Calleed today about seeing about payments for my car loan and paying towards the principal and the lady in the loan's department aced like she didn't know anything about paying towards the principal. Then she just kept asking me what the guy's name was that I spoke with last time after I told her several times that I do not remember his name. She was worried more about the guy's name than actually help the customer concerns. I have banked with you guys my entire life and i've never had a problem like this!!!!

Went by at around 10am and spoke to a teller about a coin request. He then went to the back to ask his current supervisor. Mind you it was only me in there. I can hear the teller ask his supervisor, but another teller said "oh yeah he came by yesterday". Than a shout replied with "Than NO, He can't have none"!!! one day its one thing the next its another. (Again ANB stay consistent please)!

Extremely pleased with My bank. Called in today to activate my card on Apple Pay and the system was down. The lady apologized and took my number down and said she would call back when the system was up. Within 20 mins she called me back and got me squared away. That’s customer service!

It says on the north side of the building it is a will be not a once was! I hope that this historical downtown building gets restored or renovated to its former glory! It's absolutely massive! If it was in operation it would have room for a luxary hotel with a couple fine dining restaurants, with huge office spaces and some luxary lofts. It would take some millions$$ invested in it to get going but once going would be a good economic investment for Amarillo!

why has no one rescued this old building. out of all the historical buildings or places in amarillo that have been rescued, why has amarillo forgot about this one. this old abandon hotel is an icon and a legacy to amarillo....it has been since it was build back in 1926 and out of three total , it is the only one still standing today. if this building was recued it could do so much for amarillo community.......what amarillo should have done is rescued and refurbished the hotel instead of building one and renovating another old building into a hotel...... if i had the resources i would tune that place into a verity of things. a hotel with shops on the bottom and pent house condos on the very top, to high rise apartments with condos on the upper 3 levels, or a varitey of different kinds of shops and little cafes and pubs from top to bottom with each level having its own style and way about it. kinda as if each level had its owen theme that each shop owner could go a long with. don't let this grand majestic , and what could be , a beautiful diamond in the rough, legacy and icon of amarillo be whipped completely from the history of amarillo, and lost for ever...... .... some one who cares JDF ~76

This is a free one room museum tucked away in the Amarillo College campus. It has a great collection of insect specimens from around the world you can get up close to. Park at the visitor lot and walk in. Get a coffee at the campus coffee bar and check out the art museum while you're here.
