My great grandfather lived in the area as did his wife. I looked around the churchyard recently to see if I could find any graves with the family names on them. I found one, pictured. It’s a well kept churchyard with thousands of tombstones.

Nice place. Unfortunately, could not locate the WiFi password. Parking for about 5-6 cars on the premises and plenty of it on the street. There is a speed camera right on the point where the road meets eccelsall road.

Such a welcoming church and a great church to attend as a student. They offer student lunches and Bible Studies on Tuesdays called students at 7 with food and fellowship. There are services every Sunday at 9am, 11am, and 6.30pm. People are very friendly and I feel at home.

I watched the morning service 29th December and thought it abysmal. The dress code was appalling, music anything but musical, the programme completely weightless and devoid of reverence. God is presented as an incidental, an old pal, and Christ church Fulwood Sheffield ought to be ashamed. Stephen Davis

This church has a huge congregation. We've learned so much in the five years we've been attending. All preachers are excellent, unusual! I particularly like the fact that they take a book of the bible and work through a large part of it, with relevant passages that relate from other parts of the bible. Thank you

Very welcoming place. Very caring people. Went to a memorial service which included my Dad. They have lots of things set up for people who have suffered loss.

Great sermon. I attended this church for the first time 2 or so months ago. The church itself is large in size and capacity, the lower pews were almost full with people and they had balcony views too. The biggest church I’ve attended to in Sheffield by far. From what I could see on that day, the church is mainly consisting of local British and Africans. The worship was pretty nice, singing hymns throughout the service with a modern worship band. The message was very good, it was based on Philippians 1:12-18. I think it was the youth pastor who did the sermon, the sermon was strong in the messages that were put across. The majority of the people in the congregation seemed unapproachable however, based on my experience.

After reading the book I thought I’d go and check out a live act. The set was pretty decent with some expensive props. The costumes were well made and the cast were as expected taking on a familiar ‘league of gentleman’ tone. Refreshments served consisted of a wafer washed down with a sip of non alcoholic sherry. Didn’t taste like a body so they could do with rethinking suppliers. The book was very much the same as the live gig… the ending was just depressing but as it’s been left on a bit of a cliffhanger, I anxiously await ‘the bible 2’.

A fabulous friendly group which has a variety of great activities. It is extremely well resourced and a huge amount of effort goes into the crafts, themed activities and a large outdoor area- fabulous caring volunteers too.

I have been to this church a couple of times, but it seems like a good church with lots of families attending and good worship. The only two things that bother me is that when worshipping, there seems to be only one paragraph on the screen which makes it difficult to worship as the person in charge of it often gets the paragraph wrong so it's really hard to get to the spirit of worship when the right paragraph isn't on the screen. It would be a lot easier if three paragraphs of the song were on the screen, there is plenty of space for three paragraphs of the song on the screen, so if the band decides to sing the paragraph again it's already on there and it's easier to worship when you see what follows next. The other thing is, it really bothers me when the first thing people ask me, and that is all the people that I have come across at this church so far (apart from one), is where I am from, like it's the most important thing about me... Why can't you just have a normal conversation with me, all the women who have spoken with me so far, that is the first thing they have asked me, only one man called Ben had a normal conversation with me and didn't judge me on where I am from. After 19 years of being in this country how am I supposed to feel that I belong here when you keep pointing out that I am from somewhere else, just because I sound different, I really doubt that you would ask a black person where they're from because they look different. I am so tired and sick of it, I never had that many people in one church ask me where I am from in the first couple of sentences they ever speak to me, and some said: of yeah I wondered where you're from because you sound different/ have different accent, etc. Who cares that I sound different?! Jesus doesn't care, we are one body in Christ, stop pointing out peoples differences, how are people supposed to feel included if you keep pointing out their differences, if someone came through the door with one leg would the first thing you say to them be: "You look different, you have a leg missing, what happened to you?!" or if someone has a stammer would you point that out too, no you would have a normal conversation with them, the stammer, lack of leg, different accent would naturally at some point come up in the conversation, but it shouldn't be the first thing you ask the person. Have people not learnt anything from Queen Elizabeth's Lady-in-Waiting comments to the guest at the palace?! How would you feel if you lived in the country nearly 20 years and people would constantly keep pointing out you're from somewhere else?! Even though I find this extremely annoying I would never discourage anyone from going to church, because the reason I go to church is for God not people, though it would be nice to have fellowship with people who aren't obsessed with where I am from. This review is mostly for the church really to take a note if they care about people's feedback, for anyone thinking of attending the church if you're British you will definitely love it.

We hired at no cost the cafe area for our community association agm. Lovely space with all facilities available.

All the people of this church are very friendly and help the refugees in every field. They also run very good and beneficial programs and have set different times to read the Bible except Sunday morning

The service is more traditional yet located in a new-looking building. I could feel that the church has a lot of potential - The congregation was well engaged with the musical worship and the sermon was nice. The people inside the church appeared to be friendly but didn’t approach me as a newcomer.

This is a warm welcoming church for all kinds of people who live in Sheffield. It is not very formal and you don't have to be a Christian to attend the Sunday service or any of the midweek activities. Being so close to the university, there are quite a few international students who attend and it seems like a great way for non-English students to get to know local people

I came to Sheffield as a student at the end of of 2013 and have loved everything they've done. They made me feel really welcome on my first visit and they have a strong vision for the future which they are letting me be a part of. Amazing Church!

Sheffield Vineyard is conveniently located within the endcliffe student village, which is ideal for me as a first year student. It was such a welcoming church (they even offer breakfast!) that I decided it would be my home church after the first visit. The welcome isn't the only area SV church do well in. Their big heart for worship (which is top quality by the way), the bible and out-reach makes it a well-rounded and desirable community to be a part of, and personally I quite like how the church is quite diverse in its age ranges (not just student dominated) and the chilled/layed back atmosphere is really refreshing for those new and accustomed to the way church works.

It was awesome...i enjoyed every single moment. Two elderly women walked up to me andvprayef for me declaring blessings over my life based on Psalms 1:1-3 and Deuteronomy 31:8. I was tremendously blessed...i also enjoyed the union party.

Good sermons but lacking in church unity. The church begins their Sunday service at 10:30am and is located pretty close to the city centre. The church consists of both a mixture of students and adults. Over the past few years I can see that there are more adults attending the service. I have attended this church on a number of occasions over the past 3 years and don’t feel like there is a community there ironically. I attended the firehouse previously and it was pretty hard to settle in to, the non-Asians didn’t make an effort to talk to me. I would give a massive shoutout to Markus (The Singaporean/Malaysian student) who attended the church because he was one of the very few people who made a conscious effort to talk to me and welcome me in. The Asians are segregated from the Caucasians and the older folks are with the older folks. It’s hard to settle in despite the church being small. The musical worship has also changed with a larger focus on being more spontaneous which can be very distracting and loses focus on worshipping God. However, the sermons are very engaging and have good biblical content.

Amazing church! Very good music that is not too loud and straight to the point. I definitely recommand visiting because there are so many lovely people. Everyone is very welcoming. Also there is tea and coffee after each Sunday service which is at 10:30 so it's really nice.

Christ Jesus is the foundation of the church. An excellent church in Sheffield and they make you feel very welcome. Families and all ages attend this church. Much loved by us as this was our home church in spirit & truth❤️🙏🏼💪

A very good church. Many many positives. I think there needs to be more home groups for study. The only downside is this church is 2 things. The lordsl communion should be ONE cup and not shot glasses. People shoukd be warned about taking the bread unworthly. The church celebrates Christmas which the early believers didn't do and is a holiday not in the Bible. its a secular pagan and Roman Catholic holiday. We are not to indulge in pagan holidays, Christmas aka yule tide jeremiah 10:1-10. Halloween (Witchcraft demon worship) etc Romans 12:2. Jesus wasn't born on the 25th december Proverbs 12:22. We are called out ones called to be separate from the world's ways. I hope the church turns form Christmas.

A surprising interior with ancient and modern designs. Good cafe with toilets. Side chapel and Crypt worth visiting while there. Right by Supertram stop and short walk from Station via Pond St etc.

Historic cathedral in the heart of Sheffield. Welcoming staff and very informative signs make it a trip worth while. The naval flags were a particular highlight personally.

We stopped by to see an Ancestor's tomb, it is such a beautiful cathedral. The Chief Priest welcomed us and was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable ☺️

The place is pretty nice and well managed. When I came, it was pretty quiet, which is nice if you wanna have a prayer. Then, there was someone playing the pipe organ/piano, so beautiful, adding good impression of the experience. The gift shop has some cute stuffs :)

Gorgeous cathedral. Free entry. Staff lovely and a nice shop and coffee shop.

I volunteered here for some time and all was good until they brought a new manager into the grocery who is incapable of maintaining any hygiene or health and safety standards and cares more about making money then providing cheap food for people who need it for example before the church took over and brought in the new manager all items donated to the grocery were sold at 1 item = 42p in the shopping packages or only 50p to buy outright so you could get 24 weetabix for 50p at the most but the current manager would put them out as 3 items = £1.26 or £1.50 outright and the best part is the grocery has never had so much waste food and she doesn't report all the losses as she is supposed to, milk and items that could have fed atleast 5 homeless people or a hungry family each time but instead its given away to people working in the church. I was unable to attend due to illness and when i returned there was lettuces and green onions left out not even refridgerated overnight in a dusty store room with no covering to protect them from flies and bugs crates of loose potatoes stacked on the floor not even put on a shelf and they store raw meats next to cooked meats with no thought for consumer safety. They maintain no proper cleaning standards and everything you touch leaves your hands filthy and then they will handle the fruits and veg without a thought of washing their hands we were provided with disposable gloves but even the wearing of them is not enforced and the volunteers transfer filth from one thing to the next all day long.

Not supportive of families with disabilities Extremely rude I was on a WhatsApp group yoti. And this is supposed to be a support group in prayers to discuss Things with other parents Are in similar situations to not make me feel so isolated Instead of helping you made feel more isolated that is the Christian way! No .and also so when my son went to the nursery there I wasn't allowed to breastfeed in a chair I had to sit outside in the rain I was refused a privacy breastfeed room And the nursery staff was also rude to me as well Also I used to work here cleaning Volunteered in this church for many years. I have disabilities myself You also did not give me time to do my job properly it take me a little longer due my disability Which my father spoke to management about, and was still treated really poorly You do not accommodate for children with disabilities either or adults with disabilities Instead to make us feel more isolated

What a warm and loving welcome this morning. Great to worship God here and soak in his word. The elevator music played CONTINUALLY while people were on stage speaking before the preach was so irritating for me, not everyone has perfect hearing, it made it difficult to hear the announcements being shared by the speakers… Beautiful Church family though and really deserves 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

So glad I can call this church my home. Have loved inviting friends to visit over the years all of whom have loved the experience; in addition, I am grateful for how my faith has been challenged in every area. A great place to settle in to regardless of what stage in life you are at. The community are some of the kindest you will meet and the integrity of the leadership is exemplary.

When I first came to this church, it messed with all my preconceptions of what Christianity was, and what my life could be for the better. In attending this Church for the last fourteen years, my thinking has been expanded and my world has totally changed. I feel encouraged to live the best life possible and I really value the freedom I’m given to be myself. In absorbing that, I feel compelled to help others feel the same love and acceptance. Just like any church, you get as much out of it as you’re willing to put in. This is the most welcoming place I’ve ever been to. Sundays feel like family time - albeit quite a lot louder and brighter than my usual family get-together.

Part of this incredible church for four years which above all else honours God and people so well. Proud to be of a church with such a strong missional output. The teaching and leadership over me has made my faith and relationship with God so much stronger all whilst having heaps of fun in such a great, friendly atmosphere!

So pleased I get to call Hope City my home. After struggling to find a church or people I could connect with when coming into uni, I eventually found this church and it’s totaly transformed my life. It’s provided the greatest friends, people around me have supported me through difficult times and have celebrated me in the best times; it’s inspired and encouraged my faith to grow and develop greater than I ever realised it could; it has opened up opportunities and given me experiences I would never dream of. The worship is literally awesome, the preaching so practical and inspiring, and people so welcoming. It’s just the best place. Give Hope City a visit!!

I went for the crafts fair. Plenty of unique stalls selling quality and unique merchandise. The people there were lovely and quite engaging. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was their policy on 'no dogs', which would be fine if not predicated on a mistaken belief that if food is sold they cannot have them on premises. Law: Food Hygiene Regulations 2013, under EU Regulation (EC) 852/2004, Annex II The law above would ban them from the kitchen not the whole church. Like I said it was otherwise lovely, but for me a dog owner, 4 out of 5 seem appropriate.

New opening. Cool setting with a chill vibe. The decor is great and very modern. The service was top notch and there is some indoor seating area. The cookies in itself were very moist, warm and soft however I expected a little more from the flavours. My favourite was luche cookie with caramel chunks. We tried 6 different flavours of the classics and overall I would rate them an overall 6.5. I do not recommend the red velvet. Update: have tried the deluxe biscoff, triple choc, confetti and blondie. Hands down blondie brownie is the best from the whole collections, it is extremely gooey and so flavourful without chocolate overpowering. However the normal brownie was so disappointing, chewy and flavourless. I would recommend overall the choc chip classic, biscoff deluxe, dulce, brownie blondie. I would change my rating to 7.5/10. I do see myself coming back for the brownie blondie. A must try.

I was hungry and you guys gave me the best desserts I've ever had on a night out! I've visited a few times and on different occasions met Enoche, Rafael, and Becca. You guys are the absolute best. You knew just what to recommend to a sweet tooth like me. Will definitely be coming back again!

Great service, great atmosphere and playlist, cookies were warm and really nice better than other near by that can be dry. Cant really fault anything, service was really quick even with a small queue. Worth the hype.

I'm gonna give a brutally honest review on this place based on my visits to several different insomnia locations in the states and also the manchester branch. So far I've been to insomnia cookies sheffield about 8 times since opening, about 2 out of 8 times they've scrapingly satisfied. Every time I visit, be it afternoon, evening or late night the cookies seem to be stale, overcooked and hard. It's so disappointing as I'm a big fan of the brand and hate to see the low quality of this branch. Furthermore, the service needs to be turned up a notch. The staff seem to have an unbothered attitude which really needs looking into. I've read some of the reviews and I feel the small things like sugar, milk etc are things that can be fixed with suppliers and isn't really a huge deal. But the main issue I believe needs highlighting is the cookies themselves. I don't want to lose all hope, but they need to restructure or just improve their current situation at a bare minimum. Otherwise, the place will end up with a negative label for the future. If insomnia cookies can change my mind I'd be willing to follow up this review with a positive one instead.

If anyone wants a family church then this is the right place to be, God's love is not only being preached but also shown. Another thing i find fascinating about this church is that no one will give you fish to eat, you will be taught how to fish, in other word.....the undiluted word of God that you need to excel in every ramifications of life are being taught which helps to tackle every challenges you face. WCI Sheffield is a place of worship 🙌 that you don't want to miss. Shalom.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this church. My friend, who is Muslim, needed to pray and we were initially welcomed inside. However, moments later we were asked to leave because our presence made someone “uncomfortable” whilst they were “worshipping Jesus.” We weren’t even in the same room as where they were worshipping, we were in their prayer room. It is deeply upsetting that a house of worship, a place that should embody compassion, respect, and openness, would treat someone this way simply for practicing their faith. We were quiet, respectful, and caused no disruption. This response was not only unkind, but discriminatory. At a time when the world is already marked by conflict, division, and suffering, including the devastating situation in places like Palestine, it is heartbreaking to see such hostility shown in a space that should instead model tolerance and understanding. More than ever, communities of faith should be setting the example of love and inclusion, not exclusion. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcome or “uncomfortable” for peacefully practicing their religion. I truly hope this church reflects on this incident and works to create an environment that better reflects the values it claims to uphold.

I am religious but to myself. I went in to sign the book of condolence something I've never done but she was a Great person in life and what more can I do. did like the atmosphere inside the staff member talk to was recruiting but not pushy like this .

Love this church, it's very lively and spiritual. If I lived in Sheffield this would be my church, as it is it has become my son's church and they have really supported him and helped him to recognize and grow his talents. Good bless you The Well 🙏

Attended this church for a family member's special occasion. The pastor took the time to chat to me before he knew why I'd come. Very good service and great atmosphere. My children enjoyed their time here too.

I have had an awesome Weekend off with Chelmsford Central Baptist Church. Nick and his lovely wife were awesome and God sent. The Well Church Sheffield you are blessed to have such a wonderful people to lead you in God's kingdom.

Newly refurbished building is tremendous. It will be able to do even more in the community Great to see a goodly number of young people there on Sunday evening. It has a real buzz.

Friendly, informal, modern church in Kelham Island. Meets in a repurposed warehouse.

Tuesdays and Fridays are food banks, Thursdays is the cafe. Good friendly place to go for food, tea, coffee and a chat and there are groups like C.A.B., Reed in Partnership, S.Y.H.A. and other groups you can get help with at the foodbank. Excellent place to go.

Great church. Nice people. There is 2 churches on this site. 1 big church and other one streetwise is smaller very comfortable. Lovely people, family is what I call it.

At Tim's is a lovely that church welcomes all ages with a what feels like a warm embrace.

Nice and a good social place. Behind the church is a great friendly scout Hut which is used on a regular basis.

Genuinely nice and considerate people here with an always welcoming atmosphere. Congregations are available trilingual--in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin. You will see how well SCCC maintains its infrastructure to ensure safety and durability.

Friendly congregation with dedicated leaders and pastor, as well as semi-frequent visiting missionaries from further afield. Lovely Hymes and the sermons are often good, especially by visitors who are often training at theology schools. Majority Chinese people, as you'd expect, from HK/Mainland China/Malaysia/Singapore. While I've only attended the English service once, there were local British and people of other ethnicities and I felt the church was inclusive to all, which is very nice to see.

There is a minibus available for free transport to the church, which is about 20-25 minutes walk from the city centre. The church congregation has grown over the years - The English congregation is currently mainly consisting of university students, with a group of working adults. The Chinese congregation is currently merged into one service (Mandarin and Cantonese). I have found over the 3 years I have attended the church, the fellowship can be very hard to settle into if you are not from Hong Kong because the majority of students are currently from Hong Kong and there is a barrier there. The fellowship can be inclusive if you manage to settle in. The church currently does not have a pastor guiding the church and is being managed by a committee of adult leaders. The sermons can be hard to engage with at times. The musical worship is generally more contemporary and less hymns are sung.

Great core group of leaders who work hard. Congregations/members who stayed for years are really genuine. They have a weekly Friday event who did a lot of outreach to university students.

Have both English service and Cantonese/Mandarin service in Sunday. The congregation is not confined to Chinese. I like the song worship and the sermon.

Great church with great fellowship but make sure you get the right service for your language. 10 am for the English Service and 11.30 for Cantonese and Mandarin. Evangelical messages.

Had to wait two days before this “service” company could arrange a visit - which was on Christmas Eve. Telephoned them that morning and they assured me that an engineer would call. Waited in all day on Christmas Eve but nobody came and nobody contacted me and still haven’t, six days later. Absolutely beyond useless - don’t touch them with a bargepole! They will leave you without heating and hot water over Christmas.

This is their quotation for the replacement of a faulty immersion heater. 2 men 3 hours @ £35 per hour £210inc Thermtec immersion heater £326.40 inc Total £536.40inc Laughable. Employ this firm at your own risk.

Welcoming, friendly church. The first Sunday morning of the month is the most exciting. Communion on 2nd & 4th Sunday mornings is reverential. Morning Prayer on 3rd & 5th Sunday mornings is more relaxed. Altogether a great place to meet God and folk who love him.

Under lockdown there are Zoom services at 10am on Sunday's. But also a spoken HC at 11.30am in Church. Socially distanced. We welcome everyone to St. Gabriel's.

New vicar. Great to have a young family. EVERY service starts at 9.30 am. Everyone welcome.

Only visited community room. Nice place, decent toilets and kitchen facilities. Parking not too bad.

I was made very welcome as a visitor - a personal welcome at the door. Kids are very well looked after and have groups to go to. The services, whilst welcoming and accessible are quite traditional. Expect to sing a psalm and to hear formal Bible readings

Nice little church. Town centre. Next to bus stop. Had a coffee, a tea, toasted teacake and a scone for Less than £5. Check cafe times first though. Interesting church with some very good features and leafed windows. Now have new toilet facilities open

Watched Rings and Dragons Candlelight Orchestra by Fever. Was an absolutely beautiful venue and an amazing night. Definitely would recommend! 💜

The northern quartet were fantastic. The songs were really great - wish it was a longer show. The venue & start time did not let us fully enjoy the candlelight experience as the start time meant it was still light & the venue had many glass windows. The venue needed be more of a blacked out room or the start time to be later once it’s gone dark.

What a lovely venue! We went to see a candlelit concert here staring the Northern String Quartet playing a collection of Hans zimmer's beautiful compositions. The experience was lovely and we'd definitely recommend! Such helpful staff catering for everyone.

Would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Very small venue which i think made it better. Even my 14year old stepson enjoyed it as he could relate to the music. The quartet played amazing!!!!

Really enjoyed it. The surroundings was Nice and the music was played excellent with a different twist on the Arctic Monkeys tracks. Would definitely go to another concert of this kind.

A nice venue for classical concerts. I attended a concert of Beethoven cello sonatas by Ensemble 360 (Gemma Rosefield, cello; Tim Horton, piano), as part of Music In The Round. A very enjoyable concert, and great value at only £5.

Extremely atmospheric place. I listened to classical music there, but the cathedral itself is interesting.

Went to a gig here, bit of a strange place but great for an intimate gig and the acoustics in there were brilliant

It is a beautiful intimate venue for classical music. But the enjoyment of the Brahms Piano Trio was ruined by the ticking clock on the balcony. I was allowed to move downstairs to the stalls for the second half of the concert - but I'm a balcony/upper circle kind of person for the aesthetics not the price. Ensemble 360 are wonderful musicians with an extensive complex repertoire - and the Upper Chapel to view is fabulous. So why oh why ruin it for my perfect pitch sensitive ears. The musicians were in perfect harmony together but ticking clock took away that mesmerizing goosebumps experience for me. And the musicians deserved that. I will go to see them again - but next time in their home at the Crucible. Please disable that clock for future performances. I was very disappointed I couldn't lose myself in such a fabulous performance. Tick...tick...tick....

What a wonderful place! The people were very friendly and welcoming, with tea, biscuits and a natter after service. Most hospitable and non-judgmental. The chapel itself is a hidden architectural gem, with fabulous stained glass windows and a fine church organ.

Very attractive 19th century building. Vibrant Church, Anglo-Catholic tradition, serves city centre. Redevelopment all round outside, but population growing again. I was there for an excellent lecture on Catholic Evangelism by Bishop Tony of Wakefield. Bishop Pete of Sheffield was also there. Open in daytime for prayer & relaxation, weekday as well as Sunday Masses

Very good art group on the Friday. And the food at the cafe is absolutely tantalizing.

St Mathews church has a very welcoming atmosphere,and snyone new to the congregation always have warm welcome. The church has what is expected of a traditionsl church, an ornate alter, and the build is the place for quiet meditation, and definitely a place to visit.

Attend the social supermarket each week. All the staff are friendly apart from the volunteer that offers out the drinks. Every week, he ignores me. He asks the person I am with if he wants a drink and others but never asks me. So very rude

As a regular event coordinator that uses St. Mary's for a social enterprise, they cannot be nicer and more supportive of the sheffield community. Most places wanted to charge us loads and these guys have always charged us what they can afford to, knowing we are not for profit. The food is lovely and reception staff are the nicest in the world! It's just got it's heart in the right place which in this day and age, genuinely is just priceless. Long may it continue to be such a warm welcome here for whoever you are.

Had a beautiful ceremony at St Giles Parish Church last month, with a few stunning photos.

Nice peaceful place to visit, even though I go to tend to relatives graves,it still helps me think and contemplate things.

The tidiness of the graveyard has certainly improved over the last few years and this is helped by regular cutting of the grass. Obviously the money factor plays the biggest part in everything but what would make it a place to be proud of would be the levelling up of each grave which would enable easier mowing of the grass and make it a safer place for visitors to walk.

Excellent food and good value for money. My sister and I try and go at least once a week.
