Gardens
The Sheffield Botanical Gardens, located in South Yorkshire, England, cover nearly 20 acres and are designated as an English Heritage Grade II site. The gardens boast Victorian pavilions, themed areas with plants from around the world, large lawns, woodland spaces, and vibrant floral displays. Visitors can explore well-maintained landscaped gardens featuring tropical plants and colorful blooms throughout the year. The venue also hosts events like Music in the Gardens to support various charities.
This park and botanical garden is an absolute gem in the city! It's such a cute spot, and absolutely lovely to walk around. I was amazed to see so many people running throughout the park, no matter if it was sunny or raining. It's clear this place is a beloved escape for many.
Eye N — Google review
Firstly, this is a free to enter venue. The botanical gardens are a beautiful piece of serenity within a large city. The gardens are stunning and laid out in a way that enables one to amble around relaxing. There are many varied areas with lots of different themes, all utterly gorgeous. We saw lots of squirrels that are so tame they can be hand fed. We also stopped at the café for a very welcome cup of tea. The gardens are definitely worth a visit.
Grant L — Google review
Great place to visit and free too. We were pleasantly surprised, its really is a hidden gem. The Glass House is full of interesting plants and the gardens are really well maintained. The squirrels were very friendly and entertaining.
D W — Google review
The botanical garden is beautiful in autumn, with trees in many shades creating lovely layers of colour. We went in the morning, and the squirrels were very active. Several even came close looking for food, which was really cute.
Issac — Google review
A great place to get away from it all. Some lovely walks around the gardens, loads of plants and trees (looks lovely). Most plants and trees have labels to help you identify them. There are plenty of seats in all parts of the gardens, some are in lovely quiet places. Spent ages just looking at the plants and listening to the wildlife. There is a cafe and toilets. When I visited the indoor part of the gardens were closed for maintenance. It is free to enter!
Paul “ — Google review
These gardens are absolutely beautiful. At certain times of the year, the vivid colours and patterns formed by trees, plants and shrubs are simply amazing. There are so many features in this garden, something for everyone. You can spend quite a lot of time here on a sunny day, enjoying the grounds, visiting the tropical greenhouse, the rock garden, and many more. There are toilet facilities on site. There is paid parking and also a few free spots if you can find one, or park further away and walk. Sheffield Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit, even as a day trip especially Spring time. And it’s free. Thank you Sheffield.
Legends L — Google review
Wonderful place! I had a great day today walking, not crowded, people having picnics.. just a lovely relaxing day surrounded by nature's colours
Andaluzia M — Google review
A wonderful place to relax with family and alone. It's a beautiful view of different corners. There are a large number of different varieties of magnolia here, about 30 species, so it is worth returning here at the end of May. There is also an alley with roses, both old and new varieties. There is a greenhouse with a great number of plants, especially cool cacti, aloe which was planted in 2003 and looks like a tree, there are also banana trees. Admission is free here, but you can make a donation online. Also on the territory there are many interesting tablets with the history of the garden, which will be especially relevant for children in the study of biology and nature in general. There's a café and a parking lot.

The Millennium Gallery, located in Sheffield, England, is a modern museum that opened in 2001 as part of the city's Heart of the City project. Divided into four sections, it features the Special Exhibition Gallery showcasing touring exhibitions from renowned galleries like the Tate and Victoria and Albert Museum. The Craft and Design Gallery displays works by past and present craftsmen and designers, while the Metalwork Gallery highlights Sheffield's metal industries.
As a wedding photographer based in North Wales, the majority of my work is based around the countryside. When I was invited to shoot a wedding at The Millennium Gallery in Sheffield I was so excited. The ceremony was held in the gallery and it was an absolute gem for a wedding! Flooded with natural light it created the perfect conditions. The central location made it easy to explore the city right after the ceremony for some epic, cityscape shots with the couple. I’m now desperate for my next Sheffield wedding!

Always some interesting temporary exhibitions as well as long term collections. I have been to Feel Good Art Club here which is a lovely relaxed evening. Good spot to spend a bit of time with visiting friends or family.
Sarah F — Google review
Close to the Sheffield theatres and accessible from the Sheffield Winter Gardens, the Millenium Gallery is a small but very well curated space with some permanent and some temporary exhibitions all situated to one side of the Gallery. The space also includes a small shopping area with books, prints, jewellery and more for sale. The staff are lovely! Well worth a visit if you are in Sheffield for even a short period.
Anne S — Google review
Millennium Gallery is a small but well curated collection in central Sheffield. We accessed it through the Winter Garden. Entrance is by donation. The gallery is informative and well signed. While our visit wasn’t long (under an hour) it was well worth our time. There is also a lovely gift shop. Exhibits and gift shop both tell some of the history and culture of the city. It was a great stop before seeing a show, as it’s right next to the theatre.
Alyssa B — Google review
Gorgeous place. Love the botanical garden and the variety of exhibits on display. My personal favourite is the permanent Ruskin collection of natural history works. It’s also fab that they’ve recently introduced a place for local artists to sell their wares, as well as a pop up shop for small independent businesses.
Nicole R — Google review
We came to visit the Colour exhibition at the Millennium Galleries. We thought the curation was excellent - there was a great range of art, clothing, oddities and interactive exhibits. The blend of art, philosophy and science to explore colour was really engaging and there was something to appeal to people of all ages. The galleries overall sit in a lovely setting close to the enclosed winter gardens and were a fun way to spend a couple of hours.
L A — Google review
It’s so worth visiting The Sykes Gallery Metalwork Collection for the incredible display of Sheffield metalwork. The skill set of Sheffield workers past and present on show is just magnificent. Also the short films made to show the process of metalworking are beautiful… Outstanding.
Peter B — Google review
Entered the Millennium Gallery through the Winter Garden. We managed to view three exhibitions before closing time. My favourite was the Sheffield metal works exhibition. It had a museum feel to it. I’ve attached a few pictures:

Specialty Museums
Nestled in the heart of Sheffield, Weston Park Museum is a delightful Victorian treasure that invites visitors to embark on an exciting journey through time. Established in 1875, this cultural hub showcases an impressive array of exhibits that span archaeology, natural history, and social history. Families will find it a perfect destination for a day out with kids, as the museum offers interactive displays and engaging events designed to captivate young minds.
This amazing museum is located in a magnificent building in Weston Park close to the University and the Children’s Hospital. It is free to enter but donations are always welcome. It’s very well laid out with lots of information about all aspects of Sheffield life together with other traditional subjects such as the Egyptians. When I visited there were people there of all ages; the interactive displays were very popular with children so this museum would be an excellent resource for any families homeschooling their children. I loved the Pete McKee exhibition-each piece a true reflection of growing up in Sheffield. Sheffield has a rich and diverse history which is perfectly captured in the displays. There’s a gift shop and cafe plus toilet facilities including accessible and baby changing facilities. I didn’t go to the first floor but understood there is a picnic area. So much to see and learn, I couldn’t take it all in so look forward to a return visit.
Anne S — Google review
Weston Park Museum is a fantastic place to explore the rich history and culture of Sheffield. The museum is well-organized and offers a variety of exhibits that cater to all ages. From archaeological treasures to zoological wonders, there’s something for everyone to enjoy1. The highlights for me were the displays on Sheffield’s industrial past and the impressive art collection, featuring works by local artists like Pete McKee and Joe Scarborough2. The interactive exhibits are particularly engaging, making it a great spot for families with children. The museum is housed in a beautiful historic building, and the surrounding park is perfect for a leisurely stroll before or after your visit. The café offers a nice selection of refreshments, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that some of the exhibits could use a bit of updating. However, this doesn’t detract from the overall experience. Weston Park Museum is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Sheffield!
Muhammad A — Google review
The museum isn’t very big, but it’s packed with interesting information about Sheffield. I really enjoyed the Pete McKee exhibition, it was a great experience. One of the highlights for me was the artwork about Castle Market. It brought back memories and captured the spirit of the place beautifully, showing how deeply connected McKee’s art is to local life and history.
Yeeha W — Google review
An amazing museum free of charge to enter. I always love to go in. There are different exhibitions in each room I really loved the Pete Mckee. The space invaders game took me right back to my childhood along with the pictures. There is a cafe inside or you can eat in the green outdoor park with a picnic. Toilets are inside and a gift shop. There is a donation box in the main entrance. If you can spare a few pennies/pounds it would be greatly appreciated. Lots to be explored
Kerry E — Google review
I visited here with my mum and daughter during the summer holidays. All three of us enjoyed looking at the exhibitions. We would recommend, and will return again.
Tracey B — Google review
“The Boy with a Leg called Brian” Exhibition by Pete McKee was absolutely fantastic. A must for anybody brought up in Sheffield, especially in the 70’s / 80’s. Highly recommended.
Richard T — Google review
My wife and I came here for the first time yesterday and we were delighted. The museum is modern, spacious and packed full of interesting artefacts from ancient Egypt, natural history, local history and a great gallery. The Pete McKee exhibition is a nostalgic 1970s delight, being both funny and poignant. The café is reasonably priced and clean (and so are the toilets.) All in all, a great place to spend 2-3 hours inside and when you're done, have a stroll around the adjacent park. Definitely worth a visit.

Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield is a captivating destination that delves into the city's industrial history. Located on a manmade island with over 900 years of heritage, the museum offers interactive galleries and skilled craftsmen showcasing Sheffield's manufacturing roots. From steel-making to the mass production boom during the Industrial Revolution, visitors can explore various aspects of industry, including exhibits on knife-sharpening and a working 12,000hp steam engine.
Great museum, well worth a visit to find out more about industry in Sheffield. At 2pm they run the steam engine that is well worth watching. Free entry and accepts donations, don’t forget to complete your gift aid if donating. Staff were very nice and very helpful. Toilets are clean, well stocked and tidy. Cafe is good for a coffee and cake, like other museum cafes a little expensive but well worth it. There is a kids activity sheet to complete and some hands on exhibits and a little dress up area too so kids will like it here. Not one negative to our experience. Suitable for all ages. Free parking or 10 to 15 minute walk to town.
Jacqueline S — Google review
A wonderful museum detailing the history of steel making and the making of tools and of the cutlery trade in Sheffield. Helpful friendly staff. You can wander at your leisure or have guided tour. No entry charge but donations welcomed. Small car parking further on past the museum entrance. The Museum is a ten minute walk from Shalesmoor blue tram stop.
John W — Google review
Nice visit to the museum with the kids, free entrance however donations recommended (cash or card) educational for the kids. They enjoyed looking and learning about the dofferent items on offer. Parking at the back, reasonable prices £1.50 for 2 hours.
Kim B — Google review
A must visit for technology and history buffs when in Sheffield. While the museum is free, donations are welcomed. I spent a good deal of time here just exploring and absorbing the steel industry. Who knew that aside from armoury and steel plating, sheffield was also famous for cutlery and other steel based utensils including pocket knives! Friendly staff just enhanced the whole experience. You also get to see the huge steam engine made for rolling steel and which they turn on allow to run on Thursdays to Sundays. Check the times as I missed seeing it run having visited on Wednesday. Still an amazing site to behold!! Love the visit and I highly recommend it.
Dharm N — Google review
This is fantastic if you are an engineer or interested in the history of steel making. Lots of great exhibits the best of which are the large steam engine which you can see running it made me tingle watching it. Also a Crossley engine that turns over showing how these things worked plus plenty more things check out their website. Suggested payment is £5 which is frankly very low for the display on show. You must go
Stephen M — Google review
Took my sister from Sweden, we loved the atmospheric museum. So many interesting facts and exhibits. Check days beforehand to see the steam engine in action,it's not working every day. Sorry we missed it. We enjoyed a great coffee in the cafe afterwards.

We went to the Sheffield beer 🍺 festival and had a great time, as well as looking around the museum. Would recommend both. And even tried deep fried pizza.

Heeley City Farm, established in 1981 near Sheffield City Centre, is a beloved community hub that promotes nature, education, and sustainable living. Spanning 4 acres, the farm houses various animals such as goats, sheep, pigs, and chickens. Visitors can engage in hands-on experiences to learn about animal care while exploring organic gardens showcasing sustainable gardening techniques. This community endeavor offers workshops and volunteering opportunities for locals and young people.
A lovely little farm giving back to the community in the best way possible. It’s great for families and small children and all animal lovers really. I always pass by the goats when I am walking my dog and I appear to have befriended them! They have all sorts of farm animals, small animals, and even the most majestic peacock!!
Hannah — Google review
Lovely place with a variety of animals and a good coffee. dog friendly. Great for a day out. They also do very fun events and workshops so it’s worth checking out what’s on! Also selling plants, manure, eggs etc
A — Google review
What a great little place this is! Totally free to enter (but please tap your card a few times to leave a donation!), a city farm in the heart of Sheffield where the kiddies can see (and touch!) a selection of animals, including ponies, sheep, goats, pigs and bunnies (and a few fussy cats wandering around) We will certainly return on our next trip to Sheffield!
Steve S — Google review
I really love visiting this farm as it feels like a lovely community. The animals always seem really happy and well cared for which is lovely to see, plus it is free entry. The layout is really well designed
K B — Google review
Absolutely lovely to have a farm in the middle of the city. Nice coffee shop too.
Flo B — Google review
I went to help volunteer with a recent project. The animals are adorable. The variety of plant species is awesome. The staff are so warm and welcoming to anyone and everyone with a variety of needs. I also used the café which is very fairly priced and the food was lovely. I'll definitely go again.
Roslyn W — Google review
Great experience, friendly animals, good cafe prices! Having volunteered here for a while now, I love it Derek is the best goat

Heard about this farm for years, finally made a visit and it is awful. Why? Graves park farm up the road, which is also free, is awesome! So it can be done! This place is smelly and dirty. The small animal house with guinea pigs and rabbits shouldn't smell. It's like someone's grotty allotments with junk everywhere. Look at the pic of the blue kids chair I posted and you get the idea. Never going again. True farmers would never keep their animals like this. The chickens smelled so bad!!! Left in less than 10 mins. We went up to Graves park farm instead. Would never recommend to anyone.

Winter Garden is a spacious and impressive urban glasshouse located in the heart of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It is renowned as Europe's largest temperate glasshouse and houses over 2,500 plant specimens from around the world. The glasshouse measures approximately 70 meters in length and 22 meters in height, offering visitors a unique covered walkway experience through central Sheffield.
I see something different every-time I go to these exotic gardens. Located close to the Sheffield theatres and a 10 minute walk from the station these gardens.are attached to the Millenium Galleries. It’s lovely just to explore or sit and watch the world go by. Try to include it in your itinerant if you are in the area.

It's certainly beautiful, reminds me of something in London canary wharf. But very small, there are beautiful plants and places to sit

Historic Sites
Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, managed by Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust, provides free entry to a historical industrial site showcasing the lives of 18th-century workers. The hamlet was once a major producer of agricultural tools and the largest water-powered industrial site on the River Sheaf. Visitors can explore Grade I and II-listed buildings such as the Managers House, Workers Cottages, and Counting House. Additionally, they can witness four water wheels in action every Wednesday.
I was so pleased to be able to visit this lovely museum on the outskirts of Sheffield. It had been closed over the Winter and it isn’t open everyday, so good weather, a train ride to Totley and I was able to visit. It’s free, but you are encouraged to donate if you can and if you are a UK tax payer please fill in the Gift Aid. The volunteers are lovely, welcoming and very knowledgeable. There’s a good amount of information in different formats which help when visiting the various buildings. These are old buildings so do expect steep and uneven stairs/steps both inside and outside, uneven flooring and uneven and cobbles outside. I didn’t use the cafe but it looked very popular; the loos are just through the arch on the way to the cafe. There is a very small carpark or you can arrive by train to Dore with a short walk or it is on a main bus route on Abbeydale Road.
Anne S — Google review
If you love wandering round historical buildings, this is definitely of interest to you. A little 'hamlet' of buildings full of amazing 'scythe ' making history. An introduction video, worksheets for children, small exhibition area and then the hamlet, waterwheel, traction engine and reservoir to see. This is a free entry museum, with a suggested donation of £5 - worth every penny. A cafe/restaurant (independent) on site. Parking (no height barrier) and toilets. Really really friendly and informative guides here. Couldn't be more enthusiastic. Also a great guy making sword blades, again, really informative and friendly. Most certainly bringing my 13 yr old grandson here, he'll love it.
Polly W — Google review
Been wanting to go here for ages. Very interesting detail to what went on here and those who worked here. Some buildings done to how they were and where they worked. Very interesting how it's explained how much they got paid and what coins they used makes you feel very lucky. Trust me well worth a visit with the kids or on your own. Nice cafe too just remember to leave them a donation please as there's no charge to Go around.
James R — Google review
Took my nearly two year old niece here with my brother and sister, we all really enjoyed it! Really interesting way to learn about the industrial heritage of the city. There is even a little room of interactive things for children - dressing up clothes, colouring sheets and lots of play tools.
Sam B — Google review
This is a real gem on the outskirts of Sheffield in the beautiful suburb of Millhouses. It gives a fascinating insight into what made Sheffield the city of steel. When you have finished the historic bit the cafe is a real oasis ...I only had coffee but the food I saw on other tables looked delicious. Well worth a visit.
John D — Google review
The site looked like the most interesting one in Sheffield so I was very exciting to come here and I wasn’t disappointed. I had a delightful and educating morning with wonderful weather and absolutely amazing staff / volunteers. I came here with absolutely zero knowledge about steel and the process of creating tools and I leave with what I think a reasonably realistic. View of the working conditions.
Kerstin H — Google review
Surpassed my expectations, a real eye opener. Learnt so much. Need another visit. The staff were so friendly and helpful, this clearly a passion. You can really immerse yourself in the history of this hard and vital industry. No detail is omitted. Though it fell into decline at the turn of the last century it was revived for heritage sake and indeed played meaningful role in the war effort due to the exceptional quality of the metal it produced, not a great quantity (2.5 tons PW) but it was the quality that was important. When you see what the processes were, I think they were working flat out.

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is probably unique in that it was an early factory in the Industrial Revolution, but continued to work until it was rescued from demolition by Sheffield Council preserving it as a Living Museum. People can visit and experience something of what happened there over many years. The experience is authentic in that it hasn't been modernised, but it is safe for young and old alike to visit and have an historical experience of Sheffield's Industrial past.

Really beautiful open space with the fabulous backdrop of the Gothic architecture of the town hall. Plenty of places to sit & enjoy the fresh air, gardens & water features.

Lovely place for a nice steady saunter around. Some excellent architecture. Plenty of places for refreshment.

Lovely place to sit and relax throughout the year. I love architecture of the gothic town hall in the back drop. Gorgeous! Recently it hosted ‘Sheffield by the Sea’ which had whole host of rides, games, a giant sandpit and a lot more. The food stalls were not that great at this event. Had to go to M & S for picnic items.

Annsofi O — Google review
Peaceful, especially with the sound of the waterfall... Water fountain great for kids to play, two were there when I was and they had a joy running through trying to avoid the water springs from below. Grass area too, apart from the surrounding many benches. Beautiful building right in front of you. Good as a rest spot as you make your way through the town.

I was wandering around the Peace Gardens and surprisingly found an ice cream truck surrounded by kids and parents. They sell all kind of flavours and I picked strawberries. Not gonna lies, at first I was skeptical of its taste judging the book by its cover, but it was gooooooood. I’ve never tasted such softness of an ice cream and I was definitely amazed by the right amount of sweetness. I am not fond of the kind of sweet that would rot my teeth. And this ice cream clearly worth a second try🤩

It is a splendid building. There could be more seating for anyone having time to spare in the city. If you have enough time you could try to explain Evolution to the Jehova Witnesses who stand there. They don't / won't get it, but please do your best

Such a beautiful park to walk, watch the samll rivers inside of it, and ducks. There's a nice coffee shop there as well, so you can have a nice coffee, breakfast or some lunch.

A beautiful gem in Sheffield! Endcliffe Park is the perfect blend of nature and community. The walking paths are scenic, especially along the Porter Brook, and there’s plenty of open space for picnics, sports, or just relaxing. The café serves great coffee and snacks, and the kids’ playground is always a hit. Whether you’re out for a jog, a dog walk, or just want some peace and greenery, this park is a must-visit. Always clean, safe, and welcoming!

Great place, can be busy in the playground area but a lot more secluded and calm in the woodland part of it. They have a really great river and even have a lake to feed the ducks. In my opinion one of the best parks in sheff. They are even equipped with a nice cafe.

Lovely park, plenty of space for the kids/dogs to run around. Little river running through it, some woodlands as well . It's reasonable flat , with a proper path running through it. The Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in Sheffield, England is a beautiful building that has seen a number of changes and additions over the years. The interior features impressive stained glass windows, as well as a grand lantern tower that was added in the mid-1960s. The cathedral is one of only three Grade listed structures in the city, and it is definitely worth visiting if you are ever in Sheffield!
An absolutely beautiful cathedral with so much history attached to it. Even if you disregard the history it was just so pretty with all the stained glass. The pastoral staff were extremely friendly and more than willing to offer information on the church.

Ecclesall Woods, located in the southwest of Sheffield, is a sprawling ancient woodland spanning over 350 acres. It offers a serene retreat from city life with its winding streams, blooming bluebells in spring, and majestic old trees. The Woodland Discovery Centre provides a perfect spot to relax with coffee and cake while overlooking the woods. With numerous paths and trails to explore, it's an ideal location for family walks and nature hunts.
A lovely walk under the sun and shed with clear directions heading abbey lane, abbeydale road south and whirlwind Brook park. I love the design of Discovery workshop. The cafeteria is a place for a quick bite of light lunch and cuppa.
Marion — Google review
Excellent set of woods, lots of gentle trails through dense wooded areas. A beautiful coffee shop and toilets and discovery centre. Only critique would be that the cafe area only has an undercover area, but it's not heated. In the depths of winter, it's bloody cold. Perhaps some halogen heaters or similar wouldn't go amiss in their covered seating area. Other than that, really enjoyable, great walk, loads of wildlife and suitable for all abilities. I went with my 72yo dad who's not great on his feet, and he loved it.
Joe — Google review
Plenty of space for dogs to keep away from people that aren't keen on them. Lovely birds nests in the spring including blue tits and herons! Includes a miniature railway for kids that is open some weekends (run by volunteers). Lovely variety of paths. Explanations of the local history on various boards - used to be farmland and still contains the odd boundary wall, and then an area for lime smelting.

This is such a great park; a real asset for the local community! Set alongside the busy and noisy Abbeydale Road it seems to go on forever; so many facilities in one place and once you are in the park it’s wonderfully peaceful. When I visited just a couple of days ago it was very popular: joggers, cyclists, young families, dog walkers all using the paths plus fields, courts and even a boating lake. There’s ample parking plus toilet facilities and a great cafe.

A lovely clean park with something to do for everyone regardless of age. Tennis, basket ball courts, toddler play area, boating lake, skate park, climbing frames, with plenty of wild life to observe. Ideal for a picnic, jog, cycling, of exercise. Ample of free parking alongside the main road, or a fee car park closed by too.

Tamper Sellers Wheel is a trendy cafe-eatery in Sheffield, offering carefully sourced coffees and New Zealand-style light bites. The original Tamper Coffee on Westfield Terrace provides a small, cozy neighborhood coffee shop experience, while Sellers Wheel on Arundel Street offers a larger space with a strong focus on food but still maintains an emphasis on great coffee.
Great menu and good service. Good gluten free options. I chose the mushrooms on sourdough which was amazing, also crab and prawn linguine was delicious as was the scrambled egg with crab. Food was faultless as was the service. It was very noisy in the back part of the restaurant, it was quite busy but probably because of the actual building itself. My autistic daughter found the noise level a little overwhelming. 4 meals and drinks the bill came to £75. Definitely recommend this place.

Really nice place with a variety of very original options for breakfast - Couldn’t decide on what to get as everything looked delicious. Very tasty and fair portions. The place itself is very busy - we visited for the first time as we were passing by so without the reservation we had to wait for a table. I would therefore recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting over the weekend. The food arrived quite promptly though. The only issue I had was the very loud music they had. Difficult to have a conversation with such volume.

Tamper is easily one of my favourite brunch spots in Sheffield…..I’ve been a few times now for both food and coffee, and it’s consistently been excellent. The food really is the standout! Creative, well-balanced dishes that always hit the mark. Hands down some of the best brunch you’ll find in the city. Coffee is solid too, and I’ve had a cocktail or two on occasion…. also really good….but it’s the food that keeps me coming back. It’s always busy whenever I’ve been (usually weekends), so definitely worth booking ahead if you don’t want to be waiting or risk missing out on a table. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out, I’ve always sat outside, which is a nice spot to relax, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere. If you’re visiting Sheffield, it’s a must-visit. If you’re based here, it should already be on your regular rotation.

Warm, cozy and calm vibes, friendly staffs, the foods smell good, we sat close to the kitchen. I went here with my friends, they loved the menu due to the juicy meats and big portion, also with reasonable price. We also got milky chai, flat white and yellow smoothie (mango).

Weston Park is a really lovely park and one of three located next to each other (Crooks Valley Parks). It is very well maintained and peaceful to walk around and you can always make a bit more of a day of it by visiting Western Park Museum at the same time. The paths are smooth but winding and undulating around the park, with various monuments, memorials and points of interest to have a look at. I visited in early spring and it was lovely, but I do plan on going back when the summer arrives, as I imagine the planting will really brighten up the area further into the year. It's amazing and testament to Sheffield's tag line of 'The Outdoor City' that such a green space can be so close to the hustle and bustle of a City centre.

Each time I visit Sheffield I aim to visit one of the parks, however on this occasion I managed to visit three! Weston Park was the first and is a lovely park near the Children’s Hospital and by the University. You can get there by tram or bus but the weather was so great that I decided to walk there from the railway station. NB if you have never visited Sheffield you need to be aware that you will mostly be walking uphill, so wear sensible shoes and, if in doubt, use public transport!😹 The park itself is relatively small with lots of grassed areas, a duckpond with a couple of bridges, plenty of benches and a coffee cart. Around the park you will also see a number of war memorials. There’s also an icecream van just beyond the gates. It’s also the home of Weston Park Museum which itself is well worth a visit. The park is very popular with visitors of all ages and a good site for runners.

This soy latte ☕️ & lemon meringue kronut 🍋 was honestly the perfect start to my day. The kronut was incredible — crispy on the outside, soft inside, with that sweet-but-not-too-sweet lemon filling that melts in your mouth. I was worried it might be greasy, but it wasn’t at all — it was light, fresh, and gone in just two minutes! 💛 And their soy latte? The temperature was just right — perfect for someone impatient like me who can’t wait for coffee to cool down 😂 So smooth and comforting. Pure happiness in a cup. 🤍

I was recommended this café by a coworker. I chose to come here today and I was not disappointed. The quality of the coffee is to a very high standard and I can tell they take it seriously. I also took a chive and cream cheese beigl. I have very high standards when it comes to beigls given my background, but the plain beigl I tried was simply delicious. My only issue was the amount of cream cheese was overwhelming, but it's better to have more than less! The prices here are also very reasonable considering what you get for the price. It is a popular choice for families due to its spacious areas where children can interact with animals freely. Additionally, the park serves as a vibrant hub for the local community.
A lovely park in the heart of hillsborough. A few different entrances across all sides, paid parking of about 150 spaces. Lovely children's play park, skate park for all ages and small lake. Coffee and ice cream shop on the stadium side just outside park, and ice cream van there most days. Bakery on top side behind play park too!

A delightful smallish park in Hillsborough Park, complete with play areas, a fishing lake and numerous paths. The Walled Garden is a must to visit! The park is popular with runners, dog walkers and young families. There are a couple of entrances; I did see signs noting prompt closure times for the gates-seemed quite early🤷‍♀️ It’s pretty easy to get to this park from the City Centre by bus or using the yellow Supertram route to Middlewood; the alternative is to catch the Supertram to Malin Bridge and exit at Hillsborough. When visiting make sure to go into the Walled Garden which is stunning!

I have only been to Tramlines in the park but it was a fab experience. The event was very well organised and the facilities were brilliant. Plenty of toilets and food outlets and some great stalls. Pulp were spectacular! It took a while to get out of the park but the crowd were patient and considerate and everyone seemed to have a happy and positive experience.

Tramlines 2025 was awesome. The entire event was excellent and very well executed, the acts were great but the standouts for me was Queer Country and Heather Small. Kasabian as the final act were definitely worth the wait with the final of England winning the Euros an excellent pre party show. Thank you

Lovely Park with Lake, Library and Sports Facilities... Also Tramlines.... 😃 Edit: A year on and the problems with the geese are increasing. The pond is overrun with them and the paths are absolutely full of bird muck. This makes it a horrible experience walking round. Time something was done about them...!

Norfolk Heritage Park is a 30-hectare green space located just outside Sheffield's city center. It has tree-lined avenues, ancient woodlands, playgrounds, sports areas, and a cafe. The park underwent significant investment between 1999 and 2005 to restore its grade 2 entrance lodges and construct a new community building. With roots dating back to the Victorian era, the park offers sprawling lawns, beautiful flowerbeds, and panoramic views of the city.
A beautiful park, perfect for morning walks. It’s very clean and well-maintained, with lovely views overlooking parts of Sheffield. The park has well-maintained playgrounds with plenty of space and equipment, ideal for children to play and enjoy.

I've not explored all of the park yet, but had a peaceful walk around a section of it in the Autumn sunshine whilst on my lunch break. The autumn colours and blue skies were a fantastic way to spend half an hour away from the computer. I plan on a dry weekend taking my kids to the playground to see what that's like.

This is a lovely and beautiful park, there are playgrounds for children,a trail that you can jog or cycle on,a place for picnic and along the trail, chairs are available if you want to take a break. There is also a cafe there call Duke cafe,it's dog friendly and they have a lots of great dishes on their menu.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Meadowhall is a massive indoor shopping center that opened in 1990 and has since become one of the UK's largest and busiest out-of-town shopping destinations. Located just three miles northeast of Sheffield's city center, it offers easy access via its own transport interchange, known as Meadowhall Interchange. This interchange connects to rail, tram, and bus services, making it convenient for visitors. Additionally, drivers will find the center conveniently situated near junction 34 of the M1 motorway.
A nice place to shop, eat and watch a movie. The parking sites are located conveniently and one can choose the location based on which shops one wishes to visit in the mall. Parking is free. Apart from the regular high street shops and food joints, there are other independent shops as well. One should visit these shops which are located in the “lanes”. The food court is big enough but one might struggle to find a table. Try the Thai restaurant if you like Thai food. Overall, very happy with the place.
V M — Google review
There are lots of ways to get to Meadowhall but I recommend the tram, bus or train rather than driving as the roads around Meadowhall are a nightmare. There are just so many High Street shops in Meadowhall, covering clothing, shoes, books, bedding, jewellery etc Most recently I’ve used the Apple Store re my poorly iPhone and today visited Joe Browns, Zara, River Island, M&S, the independent shopping area and the huge Food Hall. I still find it difficult to navigate but there are floor layouts and shop directories at regular intervals around the site.
Anne S — Google review
Meadowhall is a massive shopping area right next to the M1 motorway. Been around a few year now and needs more upgrades in certain areas. Lots of parking in privately owned car park free for a certain amount of hours. Lots of big brand shopping outlets for everyone’s needs regardless of age or gender. There used to be a lot more individually owned shops rather than just jig department stores which is a shame. I would go in the week if possible weekends are mental. No supermarkets but a M & S so most things covered. Worth going to for sure.
DannyType1 — Google review
Meadowhall remains a bustling shopping hub, offering a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment. The Oasis Dining Quarter provides various food options, making it a great spot for a break during shopping. As for Motorfest, it was a spectacular event featuring Hollywood cars, classic vehicles, and even Transformers like Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The event also supported Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, with charity. Visitors enjoyed live music, arts and crafts, and even supercar passenger rides for donations. It was a truly great experience.
Ehizojie I — Google review
This is a fantastic shopping centre, close to Sheffield and immediately off the M1. Loads of car parks around the front perimete (clearly marked in different colours, so you dont forget where you parked!) with easy access to the shops. The centre is big, but it's straight forward to find your way round. Shops are varied, and very similar to city centre shops, but much closer together and indoors. The malls are wide and the centre has an airy feel to it. We ate at Pret-a-Manger, but the 'Oasis' food court has a vast variety of food outlets to choose from. We travel regularly from Leeds, mainly because we like the atmosphere and the stress-free wandering.
Mark R — Google review
Quite a few maps around the place so good to be able to find the shops you want. Good variety of shops and plenty of toilets. Thing to note is if you want to park in child bay or disabled bay you need to register in advance or you will get fined. Also easy access for trains.

Visited twice to find my brothers name ,put on in July, the touch screen locator wasn't working when we went and be warned the telephone helpline is only available 9-5 Monday to Friday which is a shame as mist people would visit like we did at weekends...we contacted British Heart Foundation by email and got location information, went up kast weekend and found my brothers name.but be aware has to be very small engraving, we used our camera on phones to enlarge the names but we were successful. A wonderful memorial for a loved one

There’s a reason why this whole place has been going for so many years now when in general a lot of high streets are struggling, literally everything you could possibly need here from clothing to toys to food to entertainment, free parking also available and even if you went for the day and didn’t buy anything, it’s just an experience to be there, a must visit for everyone

Parks
Rother Valley Country Park is a sprawling 750-acre expanse in South Yorkshire, serving as the gateway to the Peak District. It offers a variety of outdoor activities such as walking and cycling trails, water sports at its large lake, and mountain bike hire including options for families with young children. The park also features a nature reserve, a cafe, and an arts and crafts center.
We ended up here by chance so it was our first visit, it has a range of activities for you to take part in and the staff are very knowledgeable and happy to talk. We just walked around this time but it was a lovely walk which you can decide the distance you are going to do. Our only criticism would be how the cafe service area is set out and is confusing who's queuing or waiting for their order, I think it would be very hectic on their busier days.
Andy F — Google review
Walked around Rother Valley many times over the years but 1st time for my 17 year old daughter and we really enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery and lakes to walk round, lots of activities going off when we went but not in your face, ample parking, some interesting shops, nice vibe.

Rother Valley Country Park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors, with plenty of things to do for all ages. You can walk around the lakes, cycle along the flat paths, or try something more active like paddleboarding, sailing, or using the aqua park. The trails are easy to follow and suit both casual visitors and keen cyclists, while families can enjoy the large play area near the Northern Lake. The park feels calm and open, making it a lovely spot for picnics, walks, or just relaxing by the water and watching the activities around the lakes. The park has good facilities that make your visit more comfortable. The Stables Café, set in an old 18th-century building, is a nice place to stop for drinks or snacks with lovely views of the lake. There is plenty of parking, with both paid and free options nearby, and clean toilets close to the main area. Everything is well looked after, and the park has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you come for adventure or a quiet day in nature, Rother Valley Country Park is a lovely place to spend time outdoors.

Beautiful place to have a picnic with friends and family. You can hire bike for £9 per hour, best to take yours if you can. Loads of space to park but the payment was confusing, I paid for the hours I stayed at the pay machine but the barrier wouldn't open until I paid another £1, don't know why. The tech should be working better. The water sport center has lots of activities. If you are into water stuff and swimming, pack a swimsuit. It was my first time and I will return with better preparation now that I know you can do your barbecue fresh on site. It was generally a lovely place to hang out and loved the vibe of everyone doing their stuff. Didn't interact with any staff so can't comment about them.

Very lovely place to visit and just wander. Cafe serves hot & cold drinks and food. Very dog friendly. We only went to have a wander, however there is an activity centre, watersports area, cycles allowed, runners use the pathways. Lovely day out.

The country park is beautiful. Sadly the cafe is unbelievably banal and lacking in healthy & tasty food, plus closes early whilst the park is still active which is a massive missed opportunity, but maybe one day we can have both! All the nature on and around the water is really wonderful.

Shepherd Wheel is a former water-powered grinding workshop located in Bingham Park, Sheffield. It now operates as a museum showcasing the city's steel industry. The site features a 5.5m diameter overshot water wheel powered by a dam fed from the Porter Brook. This Grade II listed and Scheduled Ancient Monument offers insight into Sheffield's knife-grinding industry, highlighting the dangerous nature of the job with an average life expectancy of only 26 years for workers.

Very informative and passionate volunteers. We have walked past many times in the week and were lucky to be able to visit at the weekend when it was open. The ‘tour’ started when one of the volunteers shouted over to my son to ask him if he was the apprentice that had been sent. This immediately made us feel more at ease as I have wanted to visit, but was a little put off as it seemed busy. What followed was a visit to the building itself and a very informative talk about its history. There is an option to donate but you don’t feel under pressure. Both cash and cashless. Well worth a visit.

One of the best parks in the city. A large green space with plenty of trees and a reasonable sized wooded area, a playing field, small skate park and children's playground. Nestled in the picturesque Bradfield area of North Sheffield, Damflask Reservoir offers a delightful escape for nature lovers and walkers alike. The 5.3km circular trail meanders around the reservoir, providing breathtaking views of shimmering waters framed by lush green hills. This leisurely walk typically takes about an hour to complete and is perfect for those looking to soak in the serene landscape.
Great reservoir to walk round, you can via off a bit to the cafe! Free roadside parking, good circular walk lots to see, mostly water side but a bit on road walking near the sailing club, max loved it too! Only saw birds near the paid fishing area

A Stunning Escape at Damflask Reservoir! Visited Damflask Reservoir today and wow, what a gem just 5 miles from Sheffield’s hustle! Nestled in the Loxley Valley on the edge of the Peak District, this 47-hectare reservoir is a must for anyone craving nature without a long trek. Here’s why you need to go: **The Walk**: The 3.3-mile circular trail is a dream—mostly flat, well-maintained, and pram/wheelchair-friendly. It took us about 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace, with breathtaking views of shimmering water and lush hills. Pro tip: Start at The Sands car park in Low Bradfield (S6 6LA, free roadside parking) and follow the clear path. One short road section near the sailing club, so keep dogs/kids close there. **Highlights**: The scenery is unreal—think sparkling water, woodland trails, and the occasional sailing boat gliding by. We spotted ducks, a cheeky vole, and even a mandarin duck near the dam wall! The path passes the site of the old Damflask village, washed away in the 1864 Sheffield Flood—adds a haunting vibe. **Tips**: Go early or on a weekday to avoid crowds and parking can be tricky. Watch for cyclists and dog-walkers. If it’s wet, paths can get muddy, so wear sturdy shoes. For a quieter walk, Agden Reservoir is 5 minutes away. Damflask is a perfect mix of serenity and accessibility. Whether you’re after a family stroll, a dog walk, or just a peaceful reset, this place delivers. Pack a picnic, soak in the views, and enjoy!

This one has been on my radar for a while and made for a lovely walk today! Roadside parking (no fee) Path is easy to follow, wide and flat all the way round
Anni U — Google review
Great for an easy walk the path is mostly compressed limestone chippings so no need for boots but it can be muddy in places during the winter months and sometimes it gets very icy. Good access to lower bradfield pubs and cafes. Can get very busy though which can make parking difficult. Sheffield rowing club row here and there is a sailing club too. Fishing is allowed with a permit.
Tim M — Google review
A lovely family and pram friendly walk for a dry day setting off from a lovely little village. Only thing to note is parking, there is ample street parking and a small car park but both were very busy on a cold but sunny winter day so imagine it could be chaos on warm days. School Rooms tea shop is a lovely place to get a brew or a bite to eat at the end of your walk.
Steffan T — Google review

Sooo much better than a disused fire station! Wonderful use of public space, using materials and landscaping to a high standard, aligning nicely with the charter row corner. Great to see so many kids enjoying it, too. I'd struggle to think of a better city centre park for this purpose in the UK!

Nice little area in the city centre for the kids to blow off a little steam. The water feature was working, too. It's not the biggest or best playground in the city, but it's alreyt to keep the kids entertained. It's manned by City Centre ambassadors, so hopefully, it won't get wrecked by idiots.

Lovely spot in the middle of town, suitable for all ages I’d say with sand and water play for little ones (suitable all year round with the right clothes/kit!) and big climbing structure, climbing wall and slide for the bigger ones. Beautifully designed with plants and greenery and there are accessible toilets and baby changing facilities on the site! My 3 and 6 year old love it.

Excellent playground with loads of different pieces, climbing, slides, water. There is plenty of seating, and it's a nice location. Update. Looking good with the grass and flowers growing.

Rivelin Valley Trail is a 6-mile nature walk near Sheffield, offering a refreshing escape from urban life. The trail features waterfalls, stepping stones, and lush woodlands, providing opportunities for exploration and relaxation. This area was once a hub of industrial activity, with remnants of the city's steel and cutlery industry visible along the route. Visitors can also enjoy artistic installations that pay homage to Sheffield's heritage and natural beauty.
Only issue was the sat nav took us past the car park it’s only small and before the cafe. The walk was beautiful all different paths you can take nice shady walk for Ollie, we stopped at the cafe which was nice too , would definitely recommend a walk there
Pauline A — Google review
Good easy hiking for weekend. Due to summer, the water level were low and hence didnt notice waterfall. Play for kids are available as well, along with an icecream van. The bridges were beautiful and we spotted 2 swings made of tires hanging from the tree, whoever made these swings -Thanks a lot! Overall refreshing walk.
Osu P — Google review
Beautiful place, very relaxing and quiet. Not the easiest walk as there are lots of rocks/stones and tree roots to contend with. Crossing the stepping stones was fun, if a bit wobbly. If the weather had been sunnier I would have been paddling, there are plenty of places to dip your feet if you are so inclined. The trail is about 2 miles 1 way and it took us 2 hours (we didn't walk fast) We wussed out on the way back and took the road path, which took us 50 mins. It was much quicker but not as scenic. Would recommend.
Liz S — Google review
Excellent place to visit .something to see at all times really interesting. Kids and dogs would love it . Mine were never out of the water Plus free parking and a cafe on the trail.
Alison H — Google review
Very serene place to enjoy lunch... feed the ducks....and listen to the water ....
H F — Google review
Very scenic. Nice trek. Can be confusing to navigate. Try not to move too far from the water to avoid getting lost. There's a cafe on route and streets nearby where you can grab an ice cream in good weather.
Mo H — Google review
A beautiful place to explore and relax. Great for children with the splash zone, play park, stepping stones, and shallow areas of the river to play in. Free parking is available on the road, though this is limited. Lots of the trail was suitable for pushchairs.

Great local petting farm run by local volunteers. Wild number of animals including, sheep, goats, pigs, lamas, horses, ponies, chickens and guinea pigs. Free to enter with recommend donation. Children have enjoyed feed the lab experience.

Perfect park for a dog walk, with so much variety! From woodlands to beautiful flower gardens, streams and lots of places to get muddy. There’s even an animal park so your dog can get to know what alpacas and sheep look like too!
Rosie O — Google review
really large park and amazing animal far with reasonably priced feed and good handwashing facilities. parking reasonable too but can be hard to find space at peak times - parking felt a bit like a battle field! all animals looked well cared for.

I attended with a friend as we were singing with Rockchoir on Sunday. We parked ok,used the clean loos ,found the stage area and sung our hearts out to a joyous audience. I had a henna tattoo, bought coffee, fudge and earrings. We were so impressed with the layout/seating areas and friendliness of all the traders we chatted to.
Diane T — Google review
Again another amazing day trip with the family amazing animals and this time was a theme park rides One of the best day out I've had in a long time
Neil A — Google review
Plenty of parking available but has to be paid for. Level access for disabled and well signposted, a great afternoon of fun in the free petting area with food to feed the animals supplied at reasonable cost with hand washing facilities and toilets. Good play areas and the witches walk and pumpkin picking was really good fun. £7 for children but only £1 for each adult. A very nice Rose Garden cafe to end with plenty of inside and outside seating and a good menu of hot and cold food and drinks at reasonable prices. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in but apart from that a most enjoyable afternoon with friendly and helpful staff on hand too.

Went for the goat feeding experience and it was truly magical. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a lovely park, great for a long walk. I got about 3 miles in but you could certainly do more if you get creative. Had lots of great views along my walk, whether it was the pond of ducks, through the forest and bridge or the animal farm. Visit the Cow Molly Farm in Dungworth, Sheffield, for a delightful experience at their own ice cream parlour and shop. This family-owned dairy farm has been providing milk and ice cream for generations. At the parlour, you can savor their full range of artisan flavors, including special editions, while enjoying indoor or outdoor seating with picturesque views of Sheffield. The farm is also home to friendly cows that contribute to the production of their beloved ice cream.
Lovely place outside the city with its own farm and making icecreams of different flavours in real good taste. Loved their themed ambience.
Suresh B — Google review
Really good experience! My first time in the peak district and found this place by sheer luck and decided to give it a try based on the reviews. Great ice cream, cool fresh milk and we picked up some honey for home at the farm shop. There is a shaded area to avoid the sun, parking on site, a self service vending machine and a counter, lots of benches. One member of staff bought us over chairs to sit on whilst we were standing under the canopy which was really kind!

Finding the best ice cream can be a delightful quest for many people. Many locations offer a wide variety of flavors and options to suit different tastes. The quality of the ingredients and the skill of the makers often contribute to the overall experience. Ultimately, the perfect place is the one that brings the most joy with each delicious scoop. Enjoying this treat with friends and family can create wonderful memories.

Without doubt Our Cow Molly's ice cream is one of the best in the UK if not the world. They always have a good variety of ices to choose from. The staff are friendly and very polite. There is even on site parking, so when I visit for the purpose of taking some tubs home, I always sneak a cheeky cornet and couple of scoops, stand in the car park admiring the view and the working farm whilst I eat.

Amazing ice cream and so cheap price wise. Love it here.
Andy P — Google review
Amazing ice cream and products overall. My negative review is about the usage of ai for posters. I assumed that a local business would understand why using Ai is bad for everyone involved. The least you could do is commission an artist for something you need, it's really not that expensive.

The Green Police Box in Sheffield is a historic landmark that dates back to the era before mobile communications. Originally used by patrolling police officers to contact their station, these green and white boxes also served as detainment spaces for suspects. Although they have largely disappeared across the country with the advent of radio communication, Sheffield's last remaining box stands as a testament to this bygone era.
Nice piece of history preserved in the city centre. Unique in the UK because of the size and colour.
Andrew B — Google review
Brainchild of Sheffield police Chief Constable Percy Sillitoe in 1928, 120 of these police boxes were placed around the city. This is the only one remaining, last used in the 1960s and now Grade II listed. The exterior is well maintained and strikingly green. The interior is now inaccessible but was originally used by police patrols as a rest stop and to telephone commanding officers.
Eliot C — Google review
This historical little quirks in Cities help to retain a Cities culture, and the little Green Police Box is no exception.

Great for dog walks, mindful walks, photos, introduction to Sheffield, paddling, foraging, and nature! You can do the Sheffield round walk through here, or you can walk along the Porter Valley through Forge Dam, Bingham, and Endcliffe Park. Whiteley Woods is lovely, and you can access the Mayfield Valley walking through forge dam, as well as the alpaca farm and Whirlow! There are many nice walks you can do and places you can get to by starting here. It's a great park where memories are made, people socialise, and photography opportunities. I love it.

Crookes Valley Park is home to Dam House, a popular spot for students who flock to its beer garden by the pond on sunny days. The pub offers cheap pints and cocktails, making it an ideal hangout for younger crowds. The park itself features a picturesque lake, benches, a children's playground, and opportunities to feed the ducks. Nestled amidst offices and houses, this well-maintained green space is perfect for leisurely strolls during lunch breaks or free time.
Crookes Valley Park is close to Weston Park but quite different in style. It’s reached by dropping down to the park from Crookes Valley Road and is then pretty flat. It centres around a lake which is popular with anglers. There’s also a restaurant at the top of the park and at the far end there’s crown green bowling and even a table tennis table! It’s very popular with runners and dog walkers; the perfect place go spends lazy few hours.
Anne S — Google review
Great vibe park, one of the gems of Sheffield, this and it's sister park, Weston Park combined are great spots to hang out, solo or in groups. Good spot for runners to do loops around. Has a outdoor ping pong table. Nice deep water quarry, you'll see folks swimming in it. I haven't seen every single park in Sheffield to say it's the top park, but it is certainly one of the best in Sheffield City center area.

The park itself is well-maintained. Highly recommend it but please be aware weekends can get busy, so consider a weekday visit if you prefer a quieter experience.

There's something for everyone - from gentle streamside paths to rugged, rocky trails with stunning views over the Rivelin reservoirs. I was catching up with a friend on a Sunday morning & we took the rocky route out soaking in the dramatic scenery then looped back to the car park via the gentler path. It’s the kind of place where nature feels accessible.

Absolutely beautiful place spent 3 hours there but could have been a lot longer we got parked but car park is not very big the track we took was not suitable for pram or wheelchair
Richard W — Google review
We walked across some moorland and down to the bottom of Wyming Brook. The walk then took us up and around the Redmires Reservoirs. The walk itself has some medium difficulty walking and some relatively flat walking around the reservoirs. It's an extremely picturesque walk and the Brook is definately worth seeing. There is a farm where you can get takeaway drink and ice cream or cake. A great day out and recommend for kids as its interesting.

The Rivelin Valley Conservation Group offers a delightful trail, perfect for families with children and even dogs. The only downside is the limited parking availability, with a small free car park that fills up quickly. However, there are alternative options such as roadside spaces, although they may require a bit of walking. This nature preserve features a picturesque walk alongside the river, complete with picnic benches and an opportunity for wild swimming. It is recommended to visit earlier in the day to avoid crowds during the summer season.
Absolutely fantastic walking distance with dogs. Wild swimming. Truly charming and magical place that can heal your soul.

Trail was lovely, came with the kids and they loved it, if we were better prepared we would've brought their wellies so they could splash through the water more but we all had a lovely time. I'm definitely gonna bring my dog back here as he would love it. The only problem with the place, is finding parking. There is a small car park which is free but you'd have to come early or late to get a space, there are spaces along road sides if you're willing to walk a while but yea I'll defo be coming back here again in the summet

What a lovely little walk. Streams, trees, caves. It's quite a quirky little spot that I think feels kind of prehistoric and still a bit like bit would have been a long time ago. The caves and rocks are interesting to look at, and bones, tools, and artefacts were found dating to about 10 000 years old in places. It's pretty fascinating, i think. It's worth the walk and it's free so win win.
Marc H — Google review
Great place to walk the dog around through the woods along small cave type rock formation. There's also a wide stream that flows through the bottom of the Brook. Did this walk in winter and was very pleasant, so in spring/summer, with all the blue bells, etc, it will be amazing.
Steve H — Google review
I use the Parish Hall carpark when visiting here. Good stretch of woods with some clear walking paths through, frequented by dog walkers. You can go walk by the river, and there's a railway line going through with arch you can walk under. Interesting rock formations to look at with some caves there too.
