This place has a great backyard garage vibe! Come with a big group, get some grub, order some local beer, and if you’re lucky, be there for trivia night. We indulged in burgers and fries with a beer each and it was really good. They serve pizza too, and great for young families, too. They also have a side room with the largest game TV I have ever seen. We came during football bowl season and caught the tail end of the Arizona Rate Bowl game.

Great brewery! Had an overnight stay in Birmingham. We always like to check out local breweries when we travel. Went here on a recommendation from a client that lives in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed! Friendly staff, cool atmosphere, good food & great beer! It’s hard to find a good imperial stout & Barleywine. Back Forty did not disappoint!

We came for the Oktoberfest, it was outstanding, 2nd year we have attended. Jeager schnitzel and knockwurst were excellent. Backtoberfest martzen beer was outstanding. Thanks to Russ for putting it together. Staff was great. Back in neighborhood a couple of days later, has cheeseburgers, outstanding!

This was my first time going to Back Forty! I LOVED IT! Open airy kind of like rustic, loft brewery, family room feel. Everyone was chatting away. You can see into the kitchen and the brewery equipment. Staff were friendly and the servers too. We dined inside. They have two areas to park on either side of the restaurant. Multiple areas to eat. Two inside covered patios areas and a pergola style area with modern decor tables and chairs with lantern lights. They have a community wall for the local festivities and businesses. The menu is light and trendy. A friend ordered the Hand tossed pepperoni pizza and I had the cat fish poboy/sandwich. I had one fillet for a 12 inch bun. It was good. I liked the fresh cilantro. The shoe string fries were good just a little over salted. The key lime pie was delicious. Will be back and try something else.

First time here. The outside was nice with the lighting but it sucks there's a train loading and unloading area right next door. Nothing the business can handle but just the fact it's there and hard to talk to your party while they are unhooking and crossing the street blaring horns and all. Other than the train noise, the outside was nice and cozy. The service was ok. They basically just take your order and give you a buzzer for when it's ready. They were nice people, not rude so that was cool. When your food is done, it's just sitting on the counter where you toss the buzzer in a basket. No real interaction with staff after that. The one member on the end was nice and friendly when I asked for ranch they forgot to give me for my order. The food was not bad but not great, more pedestrian if I have to say. The pizza was basically little sauce and little to no cheese as you see in the photo. Not really a lot of flavor other than the pepperoni (some were spicy lol). The burger was pretty small and over done. Asked for medium, came out well done. Asked for onion, got a few thin slices. Asked for other sauces, it was little to none and soaked up into the bun. Fries were not bad, typical shoe string fries. Was a little pricy for the quality we got, not worth it honestly. Not pooing on them but I'd pick another place before here again if this is how they operate.

One of the city's favorites - fantastic outdoor environment, great indoor spacing, huge room for event broadcasts, awesome beers, better-than-bar-average food offerings, and pretty cool staff. Definitely a hit during the warm days, and deservedly so. Keep it up, BF!

Very nice brewery/restaurant with a chill warehouse vibe. The back40 Cheeseburger is a classic and their Sours are quite good. Would come back anytime.

Good selection of brews, very helpful staff. Lots of tables! Cool place to hang out and talk or play some board games. Love that it is dog friendly. Downfall? People not controlling their dogs. One was off leash running all over. One barked constantly at everyone.

Tasting room is laid back and has a good vibe. Atmosphere is casual and local artwork adorns some walls. Beer is solid. Seating both inside and out. Servers are friendly and helpful. I would go back.

Stopped at this brewery on our way through town. We choose the brewery based on their different hop profiles and interesting beer options. The options did not disappoint. Very unique, but the sours and berliner weisse really shone. Staff was extremely friendly and chill. Indoor and outdoor seating is offered - we happened to be there on a trivia night, and there were a lot of people, so we had to sit outside. I would recommend bringing bug spray as we go pretty ate up by the mosquitos. Lots of to-go options as well and a food truck. Off street parking is in a unpaved, rough, unlevel lot, so take that into consideration if you have low mobility or are on a motorcycle.

This place has some really awesome beers, and I love their small batches they usually do. They also have a great food truck, and a fun little market on Saturdays. Parking here is odd and overall it’s a little bit of a quiet vibe, but worth the beer.

Post lunch visit Thursday 10/13. Really cool space with lots of outdoor tables and a very large indoor space. I asked the bartender(who was polite and helpful) about sour beers (my preference) and whether I could get a flight with them. Yes, to both questions. Natural Habitat, Holiday Now, Beach Please and Martin Denny were my choices. While enjoying those and attempting to determine a favorite, which I never did, I got to sample their new Bellini with Sauvignon Blanc which was quite delicious. I'm sure the place gets quite raucous at night and on the weekends, but I enjoyed my quiet time savoring some very delightful beers.

This is by far my favorite brewery around Birmingham. I live 20 minutes North of Atlanta and makes the drive several times a year to pick up Brewery only releases. The vibe at Trimtab is laid back and chill. Great outdoor area as well as large indoor space. Staff is always super friendly. Plenty of parking also. Me and some friends started a hashtag a couple of years ago and it’s kinda stuck.. #TrimtabTuesday 🍻

What a cool place! Monday Night Brewery + Kitchen hit the spot. The beers were delicious and the nachos were spectacular. I got chicken on the nachos and the entire dish was delicious!!

Monday Night Brewing - Social Club is an awesome spot with a great vibe and an impressive lineup of beers. We stopped in and had the Jurassic Nachos, and they were absolutely loaded with flavor. The portion was huge, the toppings were fresh, and every bite had the perfect balance of spice and crunch. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, happy to walk us through the beer options and help us find something we’d both enjoy. It’s a fun, laid-back place to hang out, grab some great food, and enjoy quality craft beer. We’ll definitely be back!

Had our first date and our wedding here! The staff are always amazing and the food is delicious (I and several of my party are vegetarian and the options were still amazing and filling - shout out to the cauliflower tacos)! They have some of my favorite beers in Bham (seasonal Oktoberfest and the always offered 404), and their vibe is awesome! John, the manager, is especially awesome to work with when planning an event. I wish I could remember my bartender’s name because she was so sweet and helpful as well. Over all, Bham Monday Night is a place I would highly recommend!

Great place for large groups. Tacos are good but they charge for everything. Nachos are good, ask for heavy cheese though. All the meats are well seasoned. Great selection for beer. Also have sangria. Even though it is a brewery there is still options for kids. Plenty of space for large groups. Validated parking is available always.

My first time being invited here was a very enjoyable time.💖 Love that the restaurant sits off to itself. The food was amazing!🤩 Let me tell you! 😋I’m still thinking about my steak taco 🌮 ! Rarely do I leave a negative review.. Walked in to around 10 people in this place. Sat down, wasn’t served for 5-10 min, so I figured I’d sit where they could see me (the beer taps have a large pipe that holds the lines(see photo), makes it hard to see customers.. I get it. Sat in an open spot that was clearly visible to the bartender. She was busy chatting with another guest, that’s okay. 15 minutes in I’ve gotten my drink ordered but still no menu. Flag a guy down to ask if they had a food menu. He got me one right away. Ordered tacos.. nothing to write home about. Waited for another drink for another 20 or so minutes. Didn’t talk to the bartender, the male bartender/server walked by and I flagged him down to grab my check. Clicked print receipt, wired a few more minutes to flag him down again to get my printed receipt. Just really really bad service for a random weekday with multiple staff and maybe 10 people in the place. Bar was sticky as well. Just not a lot of attention to detail. Wouldn’t go back.

Food was great, ultimate nachos, fried pickles....well, not so much. Great selection of brews, good conversation with employees, fantastic atmosphere. Some folks came in, sat down and didn't realize you have to order from bar, no waitress. Others came in and read beer list looking for food and left as they didn't see menus or ask for them.

This is the coolest place in town! There are 50-60 different options where you can choose IPA, lager, ales, stouts, sours, etc. the way they do flights is so fun and is a great pour amount. There is also another half of the store you can walk through which has aisles and aisles of beer options, cocktail additives like bitters, and bottles of wine even. Hungry? There’s a pizza food tuck and it’s just a great, fun place.

This place is epic. The selection of beer, wine, seltzers is incredible. Jacob is very knowledgeable on his beers and was super friendly. Great place to come for some beers and chill. We will be back!!

Stumbled on this place and found a cool family of beer lovers and new friends in B-Ham. Huge craft beer selection and even found my Oyster City IPA. Go here if you like beer!

Came to this wonderful restaurant twice while visiting Trussville. It has a terrific atmosphere, friendly and competent staff and excellent food and drinks. I have a gluten allergy and they were very careful to not make me ill.

The Dirty Filthy Martini by Laura is ultimate girl dinner. Everything I love to stand at my fridge and snack on - the only way this could be any better is if you add cheese and pepperoni 😉 Paired this bad boy with Charred Onion Dip with Veggies and my whole day became complete.

Absolutely love this place! My fiance and I drive down for the concerts from Gadsden. The food is amazing, service is awesome, and the music is always great. Ferus is such a fun, safe place to enjoy a stress free evening. I'm picky about beer, but I love their choices. The dark lager is my favorite. They have a great wine menu too which is my typical drink of choice. I wish other restaurants/breweries would offer quality wines for wine drinkers. I will go to Ferus over and over because they pay attention to every detail down to the merchandise. Love my long sleeved T-shirt too that I bought when it was a bit cooler than I expected. They have you covered! Literally!

It looks like an old-school neighborhood dive bar. Small, in a strip mall, with a cooler full of Coors, PBR & Guinness. Their draft beer offerings include three of their own plus seven guest taps today, 2 from Edmund's Oast in Charleston, SC (been there). They also have a full liquor license for the non-beer people. The people are friendly, staff and customers. Talked for two hours with the brewmaster and a local phys ed teacher about cars and beer, etc. The house made saison and pale ale were tasty and on style. The chili cheese & onion hotdog I had for a late lunch was good too. I also got a club wrap to go for dinner.

This bar saved my marriage and my relationship with my children! Then I remembered that I have no wife and no kids, but they do always provide me an ice cold PBR and a good hot dog or massive pile of nachos. If you don’t drink here then you’re a communist.

I had a GREAT time at this place! Everyone is nice all around, from staff to other customers. I was able to try their porter, their saison and the double IPA, I think these are the best craft beers I’ve ever tried. Craig definitely pours his everything into his brews, had the pleasure of talking to him for a while during my first visit. I definitely recommend trying the beef tacos, they’re delicious! The area feels cozy and relaxed, perfect for a couple of pints after work. The back area has a great setting for a birthday bash. I would like to say I don’t recommend this place just cause I don’t want anyone else finding about it(haha)! But it’d be a disservice as a customer, if you come to this place you’re in for a treat! You’ll definitely enjoy your time in there!

Bad experience. Kids were excited about hot dogs and went in thinking wife and I would try some new beer. 2:40 pm so been open for a little bit. When I asked for a menu he said they’re not really serving food, while setting down food for a customer at the bar. Could tell he wasn’t excited we were there, in so we walked out.

Tiny, friendly nano brewery serving on-location brewed beers, rotating guest brews, and delicious tacos. If you like honest beer served in a pint glass filled to the brim in a welcoming atmosphere this is your place. Vegetarian taco was a very pleasant surprise. Deep flavors, with fresh Pico de Gallo that woke my palate.

Definitely recommended! I would return a thousand times. Very good service , friendly with tourists , affordable prices. They have a backyard to be with pets. Good vibe. It has a section for shows and music, bands,performance , etc The draft beer pretty good!

Just discovered this little place behind the filling station. Good beer. The live music was very impressive for a Tuesday night. 7 person band playing the blues. One of the friendliest breweries I've been to. Plus excellent hot dogs. Nice little place.

Prices are inconsistent. They don’t honor their own posters and bartender will argue over things they put up in the wall. Dos xx advertised for 3 really charge 5 and Bushwacker at happy hour 5 but they charge 10 at 1530.

The Grocery seemed to be going through a lot on St. Paddy’s day. I agree it isn’t the best day of the year to judge a bar, but I expected the basics—food and drink—to be covered. “Brewpub”, after all, does refer to both food and drink. There seemed to be three staff members working, and the bar just couldn’t keep up. Wait times on food were staggering; my burger took an hour and ten minutes. I imagine The Grocery is a decent lunch spot, but steer away when the college crowd shows up.

Cool local brewery worth the trip. MICHELADA - My favorite beer of the night. Just the right blend of acid from the tomato juice and lime….finishes with a little spicy burn, really good. AMBER - not a fan which is strange for me cause I normally like Ambers, little bit of a strange artificial after taste. MEXICAN LAGER - Todo Mal, good refreshing Mexican lager. 8 out of 10.

We went in to try a variety of Uproot beers, which we did. We had a great DIPA, an experimental blueberry sour, a coffee stout and their anniversary Imperial stout. I enjoyed them all, especially the anniversary stout. We ordered food too, and we're pleasantly surprised. The jalapeño cornbread was dry, but the food was pretty good overall.

Great local brewery, this was recommended by a bartender at another place as 'cool and local'. We stopped in before the Barons game and meet Anna and Pat, they were awesome. Anna - thank you for making our quick afternoon stop memorable. Can't wait to see you again. Highly recommend Uproot Brewery when you're in Birmingham.

Todo Mal, the IPA, and Nectar were all incredibly delicious. The michelada was my fav though… just check out those pics! Yummy sexy! Spicy too! 🥵 Such a cool vibe. You could spend all day here crushing beers!

Plenty of space inside and on the asphalted outside. The IPA was hazy (but not a milkshake), citussy, hoppy, and refreshing. The "Warmer Days", a Kölsch-style Lager, was crisp and clean and only a stickler would point out the slight cold haze. I was happy with both beers and will be back to try their other offerings. Uproot Brewing is located in the old Ghost Train Brewery, which was the former Cahaba Brewery. Uproot looks and feels like Ghost Train Brewing before it added the canning line and the 2 floor container patio.

We love Slice! Our favorite local pizza and beer joint. We’ve never had a pizza that disappointed. I will say, even my gluten-loving husband prefers their GF pizza crust to the regular one! (I do too). White Shadow and Hot Mama are our favorite flavors. Their salads are also amazing! (And generous which we appreciate). Got the cheesecake once and it did NOT disappoint. The wings are good but expensive - you can find more wings for less elsewhere. Can’t beat the $5 wine and draft beer happy hour though!

Today was my first time to try them and I have definitely found my new lunch spot whenever I’m in Birmingham! The food was delicious, the atmosphere and music were great. Taci, my server, was AMAZING. My drink was never empty, she made sure to check on me and make sure I didn’t go without anything I needed. I’ll ask for her each time I go back!

Pretty good place to eat. I checked a few reviews and decided to try it out. Excellent customer service. I sat at the bar and the bartender was great! Ordered the fire cooked wings. Great choice, a little Spicer than I prefer but they were really good. I rarely eat anything spicy. Great atmosphere inside and outside on the patio. The Philly cheese pizza is really good also.

My food came out in less than 10 minutes. It was tasty and hot! My server Cash did a great job to make me feel accommodated. Will return.

First of all, Nicole is an awesome server! She is so attentive and friendly! The pizza may literally be the best pizza I've ever had, seriously! And the wings... fire baked! They are marinaded perfectly... no sauce needed.

- My wife and I really enjoyed this pizza joint. There was some live music being played. But you could still have a conversation and not have to yell. The atmosphere was a good energy, and everyone else that was there seemed to be enjoying themselves. Not to mention that the pizza itself was amaze-balls, and it didn't take forever to get. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning, and I'd strongly recommend this spot for date night.

Cool place! This place has real potential . It has the makings of the great bar and restaurant! Floors were sticky, a little dirty, employees were scrambling after they opened to get ready , and no one comes to your table to wait on you . You have to walk to the bar to order your food and drinks , and pick up your drinks. They will bring your food. Staff is luke warm at best. We were the only customers there and drove all the way here to eat at the rooftop bar but staff was “alone” and didn’t want to help us up there . The second customer came in 35 minutes after opening. They were close to a 5 star review with a helpful tentative staff that waits on you and looks out for your needs . Imagine if the place was packed !😥Food was ok

I can't say how many times I've been to Carrigan's, but it's more than 20. I keep going back because they haven't failed to serve up excellent food and drinks. This time we got the salmon salad - so very good - and the smoked pork nachos which were every bit as yummy. Large portions too. The cocktails are really good too. Carrigan's is a long-time and current favorite spot in the city.

We had a nice time and a nice dinner. It was a group of seven of us. The food was good and the service was wonderful. Our bartender, Chris made sure that we all had just what we needed to enjoy the evening. He made some recommendations for local beers and even made an espresso for one in our party. There was a private event upstairs the night we were there, so I’m not sure if it was blocking the elevator, or if they just don’t have an elevator that goes to the roof, but we had a mobility challenged person, so none of us went up to the roof top. Inside outside and rooftop options really helps at this place apart and if you’re trying to beat that Alabama heat, the AC was ice cold on the inside.

Met some friends here for late lunch (1pm) who came from out of state to see DMB at the new amphitheater. We had the ultimate pleasure of having Jade as our bartender. 10/10 for drink recommendations. Whether if it’s off the menu or one of his own creations…Drink it!! So good. 10/10 for food. We destroyed the Salmon Dip. Ordered the cauliflower burger but they were out of cauliflower. Jade being a super cool guy and a vegan, recommended substituting the hot honey veggies for the cauliflower and it was amazing. We ate all of our veggies!! Loved the atmosphere. Thank you Jade for making our first time at Carrigan’s such a great time. ✌️❤️

This is definitely one of those places where I would only go if a friend wanted to go. Esthetically pleasing & cute vibes. Even the food “looks” pretty/ presentable. However, the food was super plain. Not very good flavor at all. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re wanting good food.

Carrigan’s is awesome! They have plenty of outdoor and rooftop seating options as well as inside. You order right from your table by scanning a QR code with your phone. Our drinks were brought to our table faster than we could have went to get them. The service was great and the employees were all super friendly. The cocktails were great and appetizers we ordered were awesome as well. Free parking in large surface lot located nearby. FYI This location is 21+

Carrigan's is my new favorite hangout! Went with a group and it didn't slow them down a bit, plus they have so many great cocktail options it was hard to stop. The food was also top notch. I really enjoyed the Falafel Gyro and everyone else's selections looked good as well. A huge plus is that they have dedicated parking so you don't have to drive around all over looking for a spot. Absolutely can't wait to return.

The cast kept me entertained the entire night. Jackie, Wix, and Elly were great. We laughed, we lived, we loved. 10/10 experience. Tip your bartenders.

Spacious brewery with ample outside seating. Plenty of indoor and outdoor games to enjoy while you're hanging out. I enjoyed the beers. I had the Hopcity collaboration and very pleased. My friend had their stout and brown ale which were both very good as well. Staff was attentive and quick. I wouldn't say overly friendly, but that's more common than not in the larger breweries. Definitely worth checking out.

Huge brewery with ping pong tables and Foose ball games. 20 craft beers to choose from. Awesome outdoor sitting area with a man made stream with cool rock features. Life size chess game was pretty cool. I had both of the lagers they are good. Another cool brewery for birmingham.

A large, light-filled room with plenty of seating, table tennis, foosball, soccer ball Billard, plenty of entertainment. A long bar with a full tap list that can be read from far away. The greenery alongside the patio is inviting but lined with many signs that prohibit touching the rocks or the water. It is understandable that they want to protect the designed landscape and shield the company against liability but it feels overly regulated. What surprised me was that a flight of four 4 oz samples is $16. $8 for an ok but filtered "hazy IPA" is steep in particular when tax is not included but what dropped this review to 3 stars is that the credit card reader offered three choices for the tip: 20%, 30%, and 40%, which are also applied to the tax. All in all: More than $10 for a 12 oz "pint" is too much.

Absolutely so fun and great. My gf got the dragon fruit sour and she loved it! Also we played ping pong !! 15/10 highly recommend plus doggos are allowed! Stunning art and amazing scenery!

Great specialty burger joint! Never been to a location before. Initially intended to order for pickup, but the Birmingham location does not have that enabled online, and we couldn't even get the phone to ring when calling, so takeout seems to not be an option. Ended up dining in, and had a great experience. Busy, cluttered interior that is definitely a favorite on sports weekends. Two dining rooms, one in front and one in a covered patio up some stairs and out back. Wait for a table was about 30 minutes at noon on a Saturday, but we walked right up to the bar. Staff was incredibly friendly, and food was ready in good time. Ordered a Dirty Dan cocktail, an Elvis burger, and a Greg Brady burger with an extra patty. All were excellent. Just the right amount of peanut butter on the Elvis, didn't squish out at all. The Greg Brady was overwhelmingly cheesy in the best way possible. While we did not order any, their fries appear to be crinkle cut, for reference. Looking forward to coming back and trying all the other unique burgers they offer!

the place was amazing you wait outside for your host and they bring you in to sit down when we sat down we got coke and we immediately seen the beautiful sights of the restaurant and we seen the food challenge and watched the video of the guy eating it on youtube i got a burger with eggs and bacon my mom got a burger with pepper jelly and cream cheese we loved it so much we also got sweet potato fries we tried their jack sauce and it was to die for we both definitely recommend this restaurant we loved our waiter he was so kind and sweet and he went back to our table often to check up we gave him a great tip also to be kind and good people we cleaned our table for the nice guy of who’s name we never got but that don’t matter he was great we are leslie and joyce i will also be posting my experience and more photos on tiktok. donttouchmyfries_01

One of the best burgers I've eaten!! Basic menu, simple presentation but the food was delicious and very well priced. The venue is definitely out of the ordinary. It was loud and cold upstairs. The server was friendly, there was a bit of a wait all round, but overall worth a trip.

I got a seat upstairs in the patio and it was warm and very inviting. The people who handled my order were very polite and the service was fast. I got the Cowboy special burger with fries. The food was really good. Hot and crispy. Definitely will come back when I’m in Birmingham again.

Fried oreos excellent, atmosphere fun, Waitress excellent! I dont remember her name (sorry), she recommended the buger, it was tasty a good unique. I enjoyed the food !

7 countries, 36 states..... Top three burger for sure! I had the Cobra Kai with pickled jalapenos and jalapeno jelly and it was incredible. My wife had the Dr. Gonzo with grilled mushrooms, caramelized onions, bacon and Swiss cheese and it was incredible as well. First time ever having sweet potato fries that are actually cooked correctly. Sweet and crispy. And the homemade aoli was also amazing. Service was fast and attentive. Atmosphere is very unique as well. Super hip place with incredible music. Although it was packed it wasn't to loud and no long wait on the hot fresh food. I would 100% recommend eating here even if you have to travel to get here. This is for sure our go to burger place in the entire state!!!

I had the 'Scorcher' burger and it did not fail to scorch! Grilled jalapeños and habaneros over a perfectly grilled patty. Deliciously pared with a Belgian style ale. And their beer selection is amazing.

We decided to try this restaurant based on Bham Now’s recommendation. It is a quintessential dive with outside seating, which is pet friendly and a separate smoking area. While inside seating is smaller, it is still cozy. Our server, Claire was very attentive, and I didn’t have to wait very long for my next beer. There is a small craft beer selection, but you should be able to find something you like unless they are out of it. We ordered cheese sticks, which were good as an appetizer. We ordered a House Special pizza and spaghetti with meat balls, which were both good. The disappointment came with the dessert, which we ordered the brownie sundae. The brownie was burnt on the bottom, and the ice cream had freezer burn. If it had not been for this, the dinner would have been very good.

Our first visit to this restaurant was great. We ordered "The Fill" pizza, which was delicious. It was loaded with cheese and was cooked perfectly. There are plenty of TV's for watching sports, and the service was friendly and fast.

I had higher expectations for this place based off of so many positive reviews. We tried the lemon pepper wings, and they were so salty/sour it made me pucker with every bite. It was like those sour patch kids candy, the pucker factor comes from citric acid---it must be what they coated the wings with. It didn't even taste like lemon. The cook on them was great, they weren't dry and were nicely crispy. We also tried the Margherita pizza, and I will commend them on using really good quality mozzarella, but the crust had literally no flavor or real structure in the middle. It was just sad, soggy and floppy. Last but not least, we tried the tiramisu. The texture was correct for being tiramisu, but there was no flavor and then it was topped with chocolate sauce, strawberries and blueberries?! If you focus really hard, you could hear a whisper of the word "coffee." I would go back again if someone wanted to try it, but I wouldn't choose to go back. The 3 items we got were absolutely not worth the $50 tab (wings, pizza and tiramisu)

Had the Feta dip and an IPA as I waited for a pizza and sandwich to go. Feta cheese dip is definitely worth the price. The bartender was affable, accommodating, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Took home a pizza and sandwich, pizza was the highlight and worth twenty odd dollars. Only disappointment was a sixteen dollar Italian sandwich that was on what looked like a six inch hoagie roll. I understand that costs are rising, but for what I received it was at best worth half of what I paid. Seriously fantastic marinara, worth the visit for the Feta dip and the pizza is in the top ten in Birmingham!

We visited while out of town. The food was fantastic; our party had sandwiches, calzones, and pasta. Everyone was happy! The tiramisu and brownie sundae made for a great finish. The staff was super friendly and even let us take over a television to stream a YouTube presentation of our local team!

I just walk in and waited to be seated..I stood there for 5 min. Not one waiter or waitress said a word to me after being walked by the entire time. I could feel the tension they don't like black people in that restaurant..So I walked up closer and was gonna sit at the bar then some lady who wasn't a waitress she you can sit there..Then the blonde bar tender after 5 min..says are you dining in or taking out ..I said dining in..she goes ok." Sit down then " in very demanding voice. So I just lookec at her like who are you talking to..So then she said it again ." Sit down over there "!.So then I told told her no ma'am I good ..I just walked out ..I will never step foot in there again and will advise any minority not to. Just FYI The restaurant was 80 % empty no need for a 5 minute wait.

So I knew of the distillery, what I didn't know was they are also a cool bar and restaurant until I was on a lunch time walk and stumbled upon it. The next day while biking, we stopped in. The IPA they brew is excellent..I recommend the Beer and a shot. Your choice of their crafted beers, and the bartended creates the shot. We had the hummus and truffle fries which were both excellent companions to the drinks. The atmosphere is awesome and we will be back, better dressed than our biking clothes.

My husband and I had an amazing experience here. The bartender really knew his stuff and was so friendly. But the food was incredible! Fresh and quality food and drinks and service. Highly recommend!

In August, I planned an impromptu surprise birthday party for my sister. Jessica was extremely helpful and responsive as I planned everything via email. The food and cocktails were impeccable, our server (I forgot his name) was extremely attentive, and the room was stunning. I will be using them for hosting future events or to have a cocktail or two!

This is not a typical distillery! So much more. The atmosphere, the spirits and most importantly, the employees! Our tour guide Suzanne was so knowledgeable and interesting and fun! The tasting too is amazing. And before the tour we had drinks and Jaeden our server was delightful!!! We will definitely go back soon.

I’ve visited this establishment on two separate occasions recently, and both times I was told the kitchen was closed despite arriving well before the posted closing time. I completely understand and respect that the kitchen may close an hour before the bar; as a business owner myself, I respect policies and structure. However, being turned away nearly two hours before closing raises serious concerns about consistency and professionalism. What’s most disappointing is that I brought guests with me respected professionals including attorneys and elected officials hoping to enjoy a night of cocktails and light food in what I believed was a reliable environment. Instead, we were told the kitchen had closed early due to a party earlier in the day. This isn’t just poor planning; it’s an unacceptable standard for a business that promotes itself as a professional, welcoming venue. This has now happened twice in two weeks, and frankly, I regret giving it a second chance. The first experience I had here was enjoyable, which is what made me want to return. Unfortunately, these recent visits have made it clear that the establishment does not consistently meet its own standards. I would not recommend this place to others and won’t be returning.

I was fortunate to be able to experience Dread River's restaurant week menu this year. Out of all of the 3-course dinner menus available this year Dread River hit the ball out of the park with their menu variety and overall execution. They were by far the best bang for the buck option out of all of restaurant week. But I am disappointed to find that their regular menu, being mainly elevated bar food, does not compare / hold a candle to what was offered during restaurant week. I suppose I may just have to wait until restaurant week next year to be able to have such an amazing meal for such an incredible price again.

This place is incredible. Every member of the staff is so kind and welcoming, MJ is hands down one of the most talented bartenders I've ever met, the layout/atmosphere is arguably the best in all of Birmingham as well. Hands down the greatest date night spot!

Tonight the bouncer rejected me with my real drivers license and refused to accept any of the other forms of identification I provided because the “hologram” wouldn’t show up on my ID. He didn’t even have an actual ID scanner… If mom’s basement accepts donations I would love to make the generous gift of a functioning scanner. I also have a 22 year old friend who was rejected the other day with her real drivers license… ridiculous

Super cool atmosphere but the “security” and bar tender need to chill out a little bit. These guys are always in your business and threatening. Kind of ruins the vibe. Bathroom situation is terrible and the staff will yell at you for knocking or walking out of there thinking you weren’t alone. Super cool place but the staff is ruining the vibe there lately. When asked , they said they have to keep the “hooligans” under control. Our party of mostly 30+ was a little offended and asked if we were being hooligans and they said no, but still treated us with this awful power trip. Better ways to handle it. Don’t let the staff ruin this place, because it is a great spot. It was almost as if the staffs guard was up and on the look out for something. Regardless, you can maintain professionalism and manage your facility still. Oh and $5 cover because there is a DJ? He played old school vinyl for 45 minutes and then played music through a phone. Again, don’t let this place slip from the stupid little things.

Was there for 1 hour and could not get a drink so we finally left. Definitely need more staff. It's bad when you go to a bar and can't get a drink. Kinda the only reason you go....

If you are from another state (especially one not in the south), you might want to avoid this place. THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ID SCANNER! The manager (blonde lady) kept saying my ID made her uncomfortable (after already being there for about an hour) even though it is a VERIFIED REAL MARYLAND ID.. like if the airport can take my ID, I am sure this small bar in alabama can take it.. but also, my friends said that there were racist undertones behind the manager’s actions.. she seemed okay, but if the people around me saw it, I think it is important to mention. She gave me a refund for my cover, so that was nice! The bouncers were really nice, though! Joe and Dave were awesome and very kind after the manager kicked us out. They gave us some recommendations for some other bars that have ID scanners and can actually verify REAL ID’s! Anyways, if you’re from another state, maybe avoid this place. I am sure that their local experience is nice, though.

Doorguy was cool. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. It was a very laid back vibe. primary people ages 25-35. Karaoke line had like 20 people wait.. but they'd play full non karaoke songs in between singers.. like..whyyy...lol. didn't eat there but .I gave the "food" 2 stars because the only vodka they had was titos and cathead. They had run out of Grey goose and didn't carry ketel one. And they didn't carry Heineken or corona. The place has potential..cute idea.. but we bailed bc the alcohol selection and bc the pool tables and and other forms to pass time we're always occupied. This was on a Thursday.

My hands down favorite dive! If ya haven't been to Moms, you should visit! Service is great, atmosphere is relaxed and retro. Imagine a typical suburban basement with a bar & that's Mom's! Walls filled with pics of ... Moms! What Else?! Ha! It's very nostalgic for kids of the 70s & 80s or fans thereof.

Great place for a family or large group. Indoor and outdoor dining. HUGE beer selection! Excellent food. The Chef Salad is a great choice. We had a group of about 15, the service was excellent. Our food and drinks arrived quickly.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times now and gotten the same thing both times. I got the Campfire Burger which is a tasty burger with smoked cheddar, applewood bacon, onion straws and campfire sauce. I got fries as a side but we also ordered some onion rings. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the fries were nice and crisp. The onion rings were a little bready for me and were served with a sort of blooming onion sauce though a slightly different and spicy flavor. More than likely I will get the burger again but may have to explore the menu more on my next visit. I would recommend this as a good choice if you are about pub food.

I came alone for dinner…. The bartender, Madison was on point! She was checking on me every time my drink was 1/4 full. Spot on! I’ve been here several times and the manager, Michael, is the hardest working person in the building. Every time I’m here, he is supporting his staff! Madison told me everyone loves him. I bet! You can tell a well managed restaurant!

We hosted a networking event at On Tap for our conference and they had everything set. Kendell was our waitress and she was the GREATEST! She handled us 35 nuclear professionals flawlessly and never broke her smile or anything! We also played Trivia and she was Fantastic!

Bartenders are great (Especially Grace, Madison, Cassidy, Leigh Ann, and the greatest Chelsea). Loyalty program suffers though with not replacing cards when left behind and has always been inconsistent.

We came at 8:30ish and there were no seats left at the principal room, seated on the less crowded area. They had let us come in. They knew we were there. None of the two guys that received us came to attend (they were the only two servers and hosts). At 8:50 the same guys that received us told us we couldn’t order anymore because the kitchen closed at 8:45. Horrible experience. Left the place hungry and pissed. One of the worst experiences of my entire life.

Hands down the best cocktail lounge in Bham!! From the moment you walk down the steps, to the time spent in your booth, & even on the busiest day, the staff is always extremely friendly & welcoming. You can feel that everyone in there wants you to have a wonderful, fun experience. Not to mention, the espresso martinis are phenomenal.

Arrived here around 7 pm on a Saturday and there was a lot of empty seating. Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is fun. Prices reasonable for what they provide. If you are a cocktail connoisseur (I am not 🤷‍♀️🙂) they no longer smoke the rims of the glasses of old fashioned s like they used to.

Themed drinks (was Halloween themed for us) , they were very different but the service was awesome and the atmosphere was really amazing Alexa the fortune teller makes some awesome zombie mugs and Yates the Wolfman knows his drinks. Had an awesome evening thanks to them. Cheers to both of yall!

In town on business and always looking for a good cocktail spot. Walking over from the hotel into what felt like a genuine “cocktail cellar” was an experience in and of itself. Beyond just creative cocktails and diverse options, the sole bartender on duty Elle was killing it. Not only did she know her stuff and keep up with demand while running solo, she was also incredibly pleasant and treated everyone with a great attitude.

My absolute favorite bar in bham. Love the atmosphere. It's always the perfect, underground temperature no matter the season. I love a spooky vibe and this bar brings it. They have incredible craft cocktails year round plus seasonal drinks that you'll *die* for.

First time dining here. I really enjoyed this restaurant. The only issue that I had was the pacing of food. We had bar drinks, an appetizer and salads and our food came out before we were done with our salads. Food was excellent and service was good. W will definitely return.we ordered the shrimp and grits and prime rib with sautéed spinach. For an appetizer we had the spinach dip.

We got the Hot Crab Dip as an appetizer, and it was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend trying it (refer to the picture). The food in general was very well prepared and all made from scratch. Such a lovely place with a great ambiance. I want to say a special thank you to our server Rebbecca. She made the experience even better and went out of her way for us!

A Great Spot with Elegant Atmosphere and Friendly Staff I’ve been to the Village Tavern many times, and it’s consistently a great experience overall. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which really adds to the elegant and upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for both special occasions and casual outings. This time, I decided to try the fish and chips. Unfortunately, I found the dish a bit underwhelming. The fish was rather bland, and the fries were overly salty for my taste. It wasn’t my favorite, but I want to emphasize that I’ve had plenty of other dishes here that were absolutely delicious. The menu is vast, offering a variety of options, so there’s something for everyone. Despite my disappointment with this particular meal, the Village Tavern remains one of my go-to spots. The ambiance and quality service make it a standout choice, and I look forward to coming back and trying more from their extensive menu.

MAN this food was soooo good! I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation tho. Even with one prepare to wait as when we want they were understaffed. One of the things I like most about this restaurant is their extensive cocktail menu. Not only that I’m pretty much every day of the week they have a different special for drinks. Everything here Is made from scratch. The mashed potatoes have a little lumps of actual potatoes and we’re infused with garlic and seasonings. The sautéed spinach was so flavorful. I’ve never had spinach like that in my life. It came in like a lemon butter, garlic sauce. And for my main course, I got the ribeye, which could not have been cooked better. I’ve gone to a lot of steakhouses, but this is by far the best steak I’ve had in Birmingham. It just melted in my mouth. A visit won’t be complete. If you don’t get a butter cake it was to die for. I will continue to frequent this place because of the service hospitality and amazing food. Thank you all so very much! Also, the house made eggrolls with the three sauces oh my gosh, why was it so good y’all are not playing with this food up in here this is so delicious.

Visited for the first time tonight, had a wonderful time. Our server, Joseph, made the experience great. The pimento cheese burger was amazing, the lemon drop is a must have. Joseph recommended the butter cake (pictured below) which was rich and delicious. Will be coming back soon!

The owner, evening hostess, and wait staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner an evening to remember. I requested many VERY specific things to be done throughout our dinner in order to make my wife feel extra special, and every person involved at the Tavern executed with excellence and care. Every item on the menu we enjoyed, appetizer to dessert, was par excellence, and we cannot wait to go back. Everyone should enjoy an evening at the Summit VT, and make sure to let them know how they can go above and beyond to make your evening special. They will certainly do so. And to Courtney, our wonderful waiter for the evening, thank you for your magical execution of my many particulars… and your incredible cocktails!

My sister and I dine in for lunch biweekly and enjoy every visit. The spinach dip is superb! Stephen is always very pleasant.

3.8 stars. I have to say that the name threw me off of what I expected when I arrived. With that said, the place was busting at the seams with customers and staff busy shuffling food in and out of the kitchen. The bar area was buzzing on a Saturday night with live music that was obnoxiously too loud for the small space, making everyone talk louder and thus making the overall noise level uncomfortable. The food was quick to come out, and the fried green tomatoes were fabulous. The smoked chicken thighs were very good, cheese grits were mid, and the deviled eggs lacked any flavor at all. Ephraim did a great job working the room. Overall, it was a good meal at a reasonable price.

Great local restaurant with a strong barbecue focus and an authentic, laid-back vibe. They serve craft beer on tap, which pairs perfectly with the hearty, flavorful food. Portions are big, and the menu includes lots of local favorites—things like grilled pickles and all kinds of barbecue dishes, all served with a variety of excellent house-made sauces. The sauces are a real highlight, and you can even buy them to take home. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is warm and lively. They’re known for live country music, which adds a fun and authentic touch to the experience without being too loud or overbearing. It feels like a place for locals rather than tourists, which makes it even more special. All around, it’s a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy solid food, good beer, and genuine Southern hospitality. Would absolutely return. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our time here! Katie took great care of us! She was helpful and patient and informative. It was my first time there and I thought the food was excellent! I especially loved the smoked wings! However, I was blown away by the banana pudding! Never had banana puddling like that before and now I'm hooked. I gotta figure out if they ship that pudding out of state 🤣 that might be the best I've ever had! Next time I come back to Birmingham, I'll definitely make time to stop by! A+++++ to management and staff!

Everything about this place gets five stars! We had been to one of their other locations and it was very good too. This one was even better because of the friendly, fun and party atmosphere. There is a bar and restaurant together and they do music on Friday nights. They were out of some things when we came in, but it was almost closing time, so that's to be expected with barbecue. Still, the food we had was amazing! The smoked chicken thighs with their white sauce was out of bounds delicious. They have the best white sauce in Alabama. The sweet tea is some of the best. It was cold, refreshing and sweet. Service has always been great and you can buy their red sauce.

Saw’s Juke Joint is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Southern barbecue in a lively, down-to-earth setting. From the moment you walk in, the rustic décor, eclectic signage, and laid-back atmosphere set the tone for a casual, fun dining experience. The menu is centered around smoky, tender meats, with ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken all cooked to perfection. Their signature sauces strike the perfect balance between tangy, sweet, and spicy, letting each dish shine without overpowering the natural flavors of the meat.

Great food, great staff. I tried the greens and folks are right - they're good. I took our server's suggestion and the chicken/pork potato is my favorite! The baked potatoes are cooked just right. I honestly can't decide which meat is better. I usually never order BBQ chicken because it is dry, but not Saw's. PS, both desserts are a win!

This was one of the best Saw's locations I've ever visited. The service was good, the set up and atmosphere was cool, and the food was great. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich with a side of the delicious okra and that may have been some of the best okra I've ever tried. Definitely will be back to visit.

We had a great lunch at Twin Peaks. Very friendly and attentive service. Our burgers were very tasty. I had the smoke stack and the burger was great, with house smoked brisket. I can highly recommend it. The billionaires dollar burger was also delicious. Great crisp and cold beer. We will definitely come back.

Kimiyo was the best waitress I’ve had in a long time. Very prompt and attentive. I fell in love with their grilled salmon dish and the porn star martini. I will definitely be back!

1st time visitor from little ol Palm Harbor, FL. Nyah was top notch in service and recommendations. Even better she represented Auburn while everyone else had on Bama attire (gross). Great first experience for me and my wife and wish we were local so we could visit this place more. Very happy we stopped in here. The Tacos were great and icing on the cake was the Peach Crown to go with it.

Donna and Audrey were the best bartenders the universe can offer. I love the cold beer and yummy food. Ray, the manager, stopped by to check in on me and he is the sweetest thing ever. i love this place.

Was in town for a concert and wanted a place to catch the Saints game on Sunday. This place was perfect. Great food, drinks, and vibe. They even went out of their way to put the game on a TV near us. Highly recommend the wings and onion rings. Carly was an excellent server, very attentive. Easy walk from the Tutwiler Hotel.

Wow! I had to get the Paramount burger, of course, because you have to try the burger named for the place. It was definitely a beast, and hard to wrangle but the flavors were fantastic! The onion rings were also very good - I have never seen such wide cut rings, but I liked it. The horse-ey sauce was also delicious!

The food here was pretty good. Severs were friendly and checked in frequently. Cool signs and banners on the walls.

We had lunch at a shared table and met some nice folks who were in town for the same concert we were, so that was fun! The food was delicious, and they were able to accommodate our allergies and special needs. Our server was nice and attentive. We look forward to going again the next time we're in town.

Found this cool little spot downtown while visiting Birmingham for the day! 🍗🔥 We tried the Lemon Rosemary Wings and the Great Balls of Fire — both were absolutely delicious! I’m not usually a huge ranch fan (my mom is!), but we both loved theirs — pretty sure it has dill in it, which really sets it apart! The atmosphere was great, and I wish we’d had more time to hang out because all the games in the back looked like so much fun. We sat at the bar, and I can’t remember our bartender’s name, but she was awesome and did a great job!

Decent sandwiches, nothing super special from what my wife and I had. Courtyard is nice and relaxing. Good beer selection. Definitely not worth the 1 hour wait for food.

Didn't know what to expect as we walked in. Meal after Sunday message was the goal. Small but invitingly interesting. The menu consisted of sandwiches, soup, and tuna salad. The place is actually more of a pub as it had a vast beer selection. I had the Fritz, which was delicious and HUGE!! Enjoyed the meal and the experience.

This was my first time here, met my cousin here for lunch and loved the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place! Not pretentious and very unique - it is definitely a hidden gem! Loved the uniqueness of how it was set up - if you wanted something from the bar, you went up to the bar and ordered it, if you wanted water- it is self served. Food was ordered around the corner from the grill and actually got to pick all your ingredients and tell the actual cooks! Received my order and it was delicious and just like I ordered!!!! Loved it and will be back soon!

Pretty cool pizza restaurant that serves wine and beer only. For an appetizer we had the charbroiled chicken wings. They were a little sweet but still tasty. We also had the shrimp and Sriracha pizza (small) and a chicken Gouda pizza. The shrimp pizza was my favorite perfect level of spice and the pineapple added a great contrast of flavor. We ordered two small pizzas and still had pizza to take home.

Really neat find, great pizzas and beers. Huge beer selection on tap, cans, bottles. The Hot Momma and the Street Corn pizzas are hands-down truly awesome must-try selections. (Yes, Street Corn pizzas, just try it!) The Cuban is close but instead of pineapple they should swap in pickle with a mustard drizzle to stay true to the name. A hidden gem of a beer is the Snow on the Maple Tree by Clown Shoes Brewery which is a ln imperial stout with maple aged in bourbon barrels.

So last night over dinner gentleman at the bar mentioned this place so I said to myself, I’ll be there tomorrow…. So here it goes…. I think more than anything, I was amazed at how many draft beers they had, holy cow!!! Right above the drafts there are four flat screens to watch our beloved sports. Place wasn’t too packed, I came before the evening rush. Started with a nice cold Modelo! Was looking at the menu started off with the Char-Grilled hot wings! Great flavors, but I do not think that’s the right sauce for these wings in my opinion. Shifted to ordering a pizza, immediately the Sriracha Shrimp caught my attention. Mind you I am not a fan of pineapple in my pizza but this I was more than willing to try. Loved it, flavors all united! Crust was crunchy, not too hard, it was perfect! Long story short, half coming home with me! To-go I ordered a Cheesecake with raspberry fruit syrup on the side, as you all know, those are my evening snacks lol The cheesecake is absolutely delicious!!!! This place accommodates big crowds with ease. There are seats and tables, even outdoor section… all very cozy and comfortable to your liking. The team is very kind and friendly!!!! This is a Valdi approved joint!!!

Pizza and service was very good. Garlic lovers will want to get the white pie. Great flavor. If you don't like heavy garlic, then ask for it on the side. The classic pie and root beer are also good. Definitely will eat here again

We go out to eat less and less lately. My wife had an appointment downtown and being late in the evening she wanted to try it out. Wanted to try Pies & Pints for YEARS. Wish the prices were, eh,$1.75 cheaper... but the experience and food? Let's get into it... It was... wonderful. It was a lazy Thursday evening, and it was maybe not quite a third of the restaurant filled. Think there were maybe only 2 waitresses/servers working, so we had a bit of a wait til she got our order. BUT as indecisive as I am...we were fine. Looking at the prices, we suggested getting 2 8" instead of 1 10" pizza. Glad we did. My wife had the cauliflower crust with basic pepperoni. I had the Italian (no onions), since onions don't like me anymore... 😔 Their pizzas are stove fired ovens I believe, so the crust was light, crunchy AND soft all at the same time. The pepperoni were all curled and crisp, the aioli sauce, the banana peppers... it was WONDERFUL! Never had pizza with this kind of flavor anywhere. Our waitress was super nice and checked on us at least 2 more times. Pies & Pints has a great lazy yet social atmosphere. I bet with all the wooden walls can seem pretty loud over half capacity, but if you just want a beer and pizza and sit with your buds, THIS is the place to do it. Wish I could give it 4.5 stars, but definitely could share a 10 inch with a friend, girlfriend, or boyfriend for lunch easy and not take anything back with you. For one? You're probably spending at least $15-$18. Now around lunch you can buy by the slice! That sounds like a nice trade off, they just don't sell by the slice after 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Now, I am diabetic now. The last time I touched alcohol my levels spiked and took forever and now shots to get it back down after a whole 3 SIPS of some wine 3 years ago. I don't drink anymore... and (while I am christian) do miss a nice lager, ale or muscadine wine on the rare occasion. What can ya do... Thought their bottles were plastic. Nope! All the cool bottles everywhere are made of glass and helps the ambiance to the whole restaurant with a nice mural of the city along the back wall. Overall, if you're in Birmingham or near and in the mood for great pizza flavor definitely try Pies & Pints out!

Visited Sunday afternoon for a lunch here. Ordered the wings and half white with chicken and half come other chicken pizza. Was amazing. I have eaten pizza at a lot of places and this is by far the closest to an authentic NY style pizza here in Bama and the best pizza hands down in the town. I will surely without any doubt compare it directly to L’industrie pizza of New York. Very similar flavors and taste and loved it. Will be back for more.

This is the first time in my entire life as a rotund individual that i didn't finish 75% of my meal. And didn't take it to go. These wings were the regularest (i know that's not a word) wings I've ever had. I don't eat cheese so I'm not eating gorgonzola cheese sauce on wings. I'm from Atlanta the wing capital of the universe. Ranch is a must. The salad was...a salad. The chicken was bland. Overall i was not impressed. My biggest beef is their lack of sauce and dressing options. BUT the pizza was good that my baby boy had. Great drinks and the service was really nice. The area and the ambience was nice. I chose badly and they had very unique items. I would do back for the pizza and drinks. I'll pass on the apps and salads until they get a more robust dressing selection. Give em a shot if you haven't though.

The food bar was mostly gone and didn't really look appealing to me. They can't make subs or cook fresh seafood for you anymore which really is a bummer. I was going to eat it for lunch. The seafood does have cooked items but they have to be sold cold and that's not appetizing for a right then and there lunch. Other than that the food and products on the shelves look amazing!!!

Normally this store is good, but the last few times i've had to go in for Amazon returns it's been horrible! Today there was a line of at least 25 people, and no one working the customer service desk. So everyone was standing in line for the Amazon return kiosk at lunch hour, while 2 women stood at the customer service desk doing absolute nothing. I don't know if it's Amazon or WF, but the customer service has gone down hill. The store itself had blocked aisles full of boxes, I mean do you not restock at night when the store is empty or just wait for a busy time of day? It's just a disappointment.

Zac Morgan he works in the meat department He is the best! He always is very kind and makes sure to get my meat cut exactly how I want. He is very helpful and super sweet! I won’t get a steak when I do if he isn’t there!!!

I think this was like my second time going to the Whole Food Market. The first time I went, I only went to get some of their baked cookies. 🍪🍪This time, I decided to explore the entire store and OMG when I tell you it has everything you need! If you like organic products, then this is the spot for you! I saw food products I haven't seen before! 🤔 They also have a great selection of fresh fruits, seafood , pork, beef, pizza, wines, cheese and desserts! I was surprised to see that they had a hot food bar! 😁 I ended up getting a slice of pepperoni pizza. It was so good that I have already decided that I be going back to get a whole pizza! 🍕🍕 The atmosphere was so nice. I really just enjoyed walking around just checking out the different sections of the store to see what they had to offer. The store is very clean and organized! The store employees and cashiers are very friendly and helpful! Also, amazon prime members can get discount on certain items!👍 I will definitely be going back! 🙌

Whole Foods has a great selection of organic produce. I always like to get a wild card, such as some dark chocolate. Parking is great, and the The majority of the staff is helpful.

I'm sharing a review of the Whole Foods Market in Birmingham, AL. Disappointed in a recent experience I had there for these reasons: 1) when shopping for produce I had to be careful not to purchase food close to the expiry date - for the premium price we're paying I think they should be more careful about this; 2) purchased Chesapeake Bay shrimp salad at deli and it had a strong gasoline taste so I threw it out (I've reported this to the store); 3) bought a package of brussel sprouts and as I'm cleaning them this evening I'm throwing out 1/2 of them due to worms.

Went for lunch at noon, the hot bar was pathetic, tequila lime chicken thighs only had a very small portion available. When I finally saw someone to ask if more was coming "in a few minutes ". Basmati rice was very dry & overcooked. The herb cauliflower was edible but overcooked. I have eaten at whole foods hot bars in other states. Usually there several healthy options. This one had plenty of fried chicken tenders.... the chicken thigh portions were Tiny!

SoHo Social is so so good!! We tried the Triple Bacon Cheese burger and the Garlic Bacon burger. Both were delicious! It's been a sec since I've had such a good burger. My only negative would be that the fires weren't hot and crispy, they definitely sat in the pass for a few minutes. I also tried the Blueless drink made with Rumhaven Coconut Rum + blueberry + mint + lime + soda and it was great! Our waitress was super attentive and provided a great experience. Overall, I'm pleased SoHo Social and will definitely come back.

In Birmingham for the weekend and our group voted on this spot for dinner. I had the TGIF bowl with a black bean burger instead of chicken. It was so yummy! So yummy that I decided to leave a review. Happy with a vegan/vegetarian option. Also fries were quite crispy and tasty.

The SoHo burger is fantastic. Waiters have always been polite, when we asked about the wickle our waiter gave us a free sample. Food here is great, definitely try to stop here whenever I am in the Birmingham area. Parking is also usually pretty easy; there is a lot. There is also indoor and outdoor seating.

Food was fantastic! We got the Whistle Stop egg rolls and the jumbo pretzel with jalapeño bacon Gorgonzola dip for starters. I could have eaten that dip with a spoon! I got the burger of the month, which was loaded with chorizo, melted cheese, queso, avocado, and pickled onions. My husband got the Southern king sandwich, with a side of the Verde hot honey. We also got a side of the truffle Parmesan tots, which I have been craving since we left. I wish I could remember our servers name, but he was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely be back when we find ourselves in the Homewood area!

We had a great time in this restaurant. Great happy hour offers. Good drinks and tasty appetizers. I highly recommended the Ahi Tuna, perfectly prepared. The pimento bacon cheese fritters were also really good. Friendly and attentive service. Nice padio area. We will definitely come back.

Ashley was incredible servings us this evening. We had family visiting and our experience made a lasting impressing. The food recommendations were spot on for a wonderful Friday evening at SoHo social. Already high on the list for $1 beer everyday but tonight confirmed this place as a favorite. Cannot wait to come back for more recommendations.

I cannot recommend SoHo Social enough! The food is so good, the atmosphere is lively, fun, and family friendly! The service is incredible! Ashley is absolutely amazing and I will request her service going forward! She’s so kind, funny, and is an amazing waitress! Be sure to tip her well :)

The location is awesome, walking in the building is nice, the atmosphere and decor inside were interesting. Absolutely love the vibe. We sat ourselves at a high bar table since there was only two of us. We tried the Greek egg rolls for a starter, And OMG, they are delicious, it's like spinach-artichoke dip in an egg roll. Amazing. It went down hill after this. After some time our waitress came and explained she didn't fully submit our order,but she did now and it would be out as quickly as possible... When she brought the food I had to place the appetizer in my lap, as the table was small. And she was just going to let that be ok, so we asked for a box, she brought it and still left the try from the appetizer, so in my lap it went. I ordered Feta erra quesdilla and sweet potato fries.. it was dripping and soggy.. I thought maybe it was mushrooms or beans.. but I saw neither, the taste wasn't it, very salty. The fries were not bad, just fries. My wife ordered the smash mouth tacos and regular fries.. the regular fries were pretty good, the taco.. Nothing really special, I wasn't fond of the sauce, but my wife didn't mind it. We watched our waitress go past us numerous times before we finally had to stop her to ask for our check and a to go box. And we watched as quickly as she walked away, she forgot. The restaurant is an awesome vibe, a few other waitresses actually talked to us and joked and even suggested the egg rolls, so the staff is nice.. but for whatever reason this was not our day. I say give them a try and maybe you'll enjoy it.

This was a neat little place we stumbled upon. The food was excellent 👌. If you are thinking of going to a chain, you might as well choose this local place instead. The food was much better than any chain at a similar price. Our group had burgers and a appetizer with a variety. The burgers were juicy but not greasy with many different options. Definitely try the seasoned fries. The variety appetizer was also a great size for a 4 person share. Their drinks were excellent and they didn't skimp. The waitress (sorry I'm horrible with names), was so nice and attentive with a spunky personality. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time. 👍 To the rubber duck claw machine. We won one for the Jeep owner in our group. Oh and the bathrooms were super clean. If the bathrooms aren't well maintained, it makes me question the kitchen situation. Great place!

Food was delicious. I had the chicken salad which was fresh and so good. It wasn’t the normal chicken salad. I believe it had some honey in it which made it really tasty. My husband had the hamburger which he said was very good as well. The fries were hot and delicious. There was a school bus of teenagers that had just placed their order but the server communicated to us which was nice. All the servers were amazing getting the orders out and still managed to smile. I would definitely go back and recommend to family in the area.

First off, cutest, coolest waitress ever named Katie, so sweet and chill. Food is 10/10 the hulk burger, omggggg. I’m a 5 foot 100 point woman and i couldn’t leave any scraps it was so so so so good. The fries were perfect, the Burger, PERFECT. I feel like i’m about to explode right now but i have no regrets. The vibe here is also so chill just, idk, it was such a good time. Hallelujah, praise the Lord. God bless this place.

Had an amazing date here. The food is PHENOMENAL, the service is top notch, and the cleanliness is through the roof! So many great and fresh menu options. We had the hummus appetizer, you've got to try it! And the lemonade was definitely freshly squeezed 🌹

OK, where to begin, first and foremost, I had heard about this place by a bunch of people. We have seen it several times as we go to concerts at Avondale Brewery. The Atmosphere suggested this was going to be a dinning experience not just from a Vibe perspective, but also a culinary adventure. As a chef myself, I look forward to new taste and find myself longing for a new take on certain meals. Even though this place was highly recommended, I'm afraid my personal experience was not what I had been told to expect. First red flag, our server while prompt to take our drink orders, seemingly lost interest shortly after. We did get our non alcohol drinks fairly quickly, but the bar drinks were brought out later and not at the same time, which would have been fine, if that was only related to the drinks. I ordered the Sampler type APP so I could try a variety of things on the menu all at one go. The pita chips were incredibly salty, but the hummus was great, the cheese sticks had more cheese out of them than in them pointing to over cooking, the onion rings were good, the pork empanada was pretty good, and the odd chicken egg roll was fairly good, but the chips and queso seemed to be basic, and eh. all around I give this app a 3.5 of 5, being saved by variety, but the overly salty pita kind of killed it. Due to realizing our server hadn't returned for some time and knowing we were on a time crunch, I had to go inside and find her, I explained we would need to order the remaining items to-go because I needed to be back to our venue for a show I was producing. ( This is on me, and I explained that to her, letting her know I'm just running short on time. and they aren't exactly busy at this point) She comes out, we have to explain how to cut up the checks (there were two of us paying) and we ordered.... we request her bring the checks back out so we could go ahead and pay, and that way we would only be waiting on the food.. Still this is on me because I understand I am changing the parameters. I ordered the BBQ burger Med Rare, with sweet potato fries My friend orders some nacho thing, and a pimento burger, with a cheese cake egg roll thing as a desert... all to go. We ate our app, and finished our drinks, its been 20 minutes and still no server.. I walked back inside, and finally found her, she had just got our tickets printed so we could pay. I could clearly see two to go bags waiting in the hot window, and while assuming they were ours (Which they were) had to get the bartenders help to even get my food. Our serve seemed "somewhere else" mentally almost as if she forgot we ordered at all. I tipped well, but realized once we got to our food I shouldn't have. My burger was very dry, mildly seasoned and way over cooked. I ended up tossing it in the trash, the sweet potato fries weren't bad, though I imagine fresh and on a plate would be far better than getting soggy in a to go container... that is on me. My friends had about the same reaction as I did on their food, with the exception of the cheese cake thing they got, they seem to have loved that. All in all, I am very unhappy knowing the money I spent verse the food I got, they are reasonably priced, but I could have spent that same 15 bucks on a far better burger. Not sure if I will be back, this one left a sore spot with me.

We had such a wonderful experience dining at Cayo Coco Rum Bar & Restaurant. It was our first time in and to our surprise we were waited on by one of the partners in the business, Josh. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and took the time to tell a detailed back story on a particular rum we asked about. Did I mention the food? I had the crab fried rice and my boyfriend had the jerk chicken, both were phenomenal! Your taste buds will thank you for stopping in and trying a dish. We will definitely be back! What a cool spot! The service was top tier, very accommodating, and gave outstanding suggestions. We got 4 appetizers, and honestly you could go drink rum and eat appetizers and be very happy. The appetizers we on another level. I have no complaints. The empanadas, so delicious and flavorful. The cornbread, was shockingly delicious! The tostones, wow! The cheese dip is the best I ever had. Dipping the empanada in that cheese makes my heart happy. The Cuban was good, my only gripe is it needed more mustard. It was still very delicious. All the drinks were amazing, I like sweet drinks so I got the guri guri and the zombie.

We went to eat here during restaurant week, and ordered some things off their normal menu and also their limited restaurant week menu. The watermelon ceviche was amazing and was served with plantain chips which was super unique. I had the red snapper which is on their regular menu and was 10/10. We had a few different cocktails and loved them. The cocktails were very unique which was a nice change of pace. The atmosphere was relaxing; there’s an outdoor patio and front bar area for more casual and then a back room with a more upscale vibe. You can go casual or more upscale which I love. The owner was there also, and was super nice. I appreciate when management comes around to see how the experience is. Highly recommend!

Cayo Coco is such a cool spot in downtown Bham! Primarily reviewing the bar service/area because I’ve never gone for a full meal. The cocktails here are phenomenal every time, the staff behind the bar are always friendly and take obvious care in making good drinks. The atmosphere is so nice. I love sitting at the bar for a couple drinks and always leave in a good mood. Have had a couple of the small plates including the crawfish mofongo and enjoyed whatever I’ve ordered. Definitely a great spot for dates or if you have friends or family in town and want to do something different.

Today I went to Cayo coco for the first time, as I’m currently working in the Birmingham area. A friend recommended it to me and spoke very highly of it. When I arrived, I really liked the atmosphere it had a nice Caribbean vibe and the decor was on point. I sat at the bar and ordered a guava daiquiri, which was quite good. The service at the bar was excellent, especially from Luke, the bartender he was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered two dishes: the snapper ceviche and some tostones. I felt the ceviche needed a bit more salt and flavor overall. The tostones, however, were tasty and came with a melted cheese dip that I found pretty interesting. Later, I had a passion fruit daiquiri, which I absolutely loved. Overall, I had a great time. I think the food could improve a bit, but the place has a great vibe, the drinks are excellent, and the overall energy is very enjoyable.

Dropped in for a late afternoon snack and found Cayo Coco comfortable cool and welcoming. The coco rum old fashioned was rich and delicious. Service was quick but not overwhelming. The decor is nice and seating is comfortable with a combination of tables, chairs, sofas and coffee tables. Fully recommend and I’ll definitely be going back. Urban Cowgill

I will say the drinks are great if you love rum which I do! They were delicious. Especially the Pina Colada whish isnt my normal go to. However, the food lacked flavor for the prices to be what they were. Overall, the vibe was nice. Our favorite was the empanadas. A great place for appetizers and drinks to start the evening off.

First time to Martins! It was good but needed to ask for a different barbecue sauce. The vinegar based one on the tables was not my favorite. Brisket tacos were great as was the pork. The turkey and chicken were good. Hush puppies were a little gritty! We didn’t try the pie which is unusual for me but will next time.

1st visit & we loved it! Had never heard of this restaurant & my mother-in-law today us to join her for lunch. I ordered the Big Brother Sampler which consists of 2 big portions of meats & 2 sides. This is definitely a meal for 2 people, but I have leftovers to treat myself later. Brisket was the most tender that I've had from a restaurant. Ribs were so tender that it drooped over when holding it. We got an order of smoked wings & they were great. I wish that the meats had a little more seasoning on them. Fries were very delicious & appreciate the fact that they are made from scratch. Baked beans ....I didn't see a Google review about them, but let me tell you now....they were perfect! Smokey, sweet, & peppery with chunks of brisket. We will definitely glue back again for another visit to try other items.

We heard about this place and had to try it. I had the 4 bone spare ribs with fried and broccoli salad. It was delicious. Wife had a smoke turkey sandwich and mac and cheese. The atmosphere was relaxed. Workers were very polite. Prices of the food is reasonable. Red sauce, white sauces, and vinegar base sauce in the table. They do have a To-Go bar also.

Stopped here by chance, looking for a quick lunch. Very fast service, decent food snd sweet tea. Love the open air atmosphere of the restaurant. Parking can be a bit intimidating however. I tried the brisket which was tender and also the Mac and cheese.

I love BBQ. Since they are known for their pulled pork I decided to order it. Came dry but you can get BBQ sauce and/or their white sauce to put on it after you order. Enjoyed the white sauce that I hear so much about while in Alabama. Their ribs were tender and loved their Mac n cheese with a bit of crust on the top and their broccoli salad was outstanding. Great place to take kids with their outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Oh they have local beer on tap too! Would love to go back on my next visit.

I gave this 5 stars because the staff was friendly, the food was great, & the atmosphere was good. Unpopular opinion I am sure…but the house bbq sauce was a little bland. I thought it lacked taste, spice, vinegar, or whatever you like. Anyways, that was my only critique. They made up for it having FREE moon pies at the register!

Love the outdoor dining in the fall and spring. Great food, atmosphere, and service. The price is a little high but you get what you pay for. The brisket is always on point.

A hidden gem in Birmingham. I like to challenge a bartenders skills to see if they will attempt to make a drink that is not common but you cannot do that here. Every drink is customized based off what you tell them you like. However, you do have the option of order basics. The food was unexpectedly fantastic but yet simple. Nice vibe and atmosphere as well. Great for a date night or being out with friends. My group came in around 11:30pm and the kitchens closes at 1am.

Very cool bar, interesting atmosphere and awesome decor. Had amazing cocktails, and snacked on boiled peanuts. Super friendly staff, and bartenders had a comprehensive knowledge of their craft. A must-try place!

Neat little place. The atmosphere is great and the decor is outstanding. The cocktails are craft and made to your tastes so you can tell your bartender what flavor profiles and liqour you'd prefer and they'll make something to your liking. The drinks tasted as wonderful as they looked.

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and man did I love it! I will definitely be back! The Atmosphere is very suitable for a date night, it's a good lunch spot as well because it wasn't too busy on Sunday after church. I sat at the bar as I was dining by myself. Bubba did a fantastic job and took very good care of me. I ordered the fried pickles as my appetizer and love them especially with the spicy ranch sauce that comes with them! I ordered the #7 burger and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend it. The size and overall flavor of the burger were excellent! I can't wait to return and try something different on the menu next time!

My husband and I stopped in today (Saturday) for lunch and to watch football. The food was fantastic! Service was also outstanding . Aliyah was our server and she was happy, extremely friendly, and kept up with my diet Coke refills (I drink a lot but I never went thirsty because she kept the refills coming!). We are visiting from Atlanta for a concert and couldn't check into our hotel right away, so she also gave great recommendations for things to do and outdoor shopping malls in the area. Not only was the food and atmosphere great, but having a server that clearly enjoys her job and takes time to talk to guests is icing on the cake! If I'm ever back in Bham, we will be sure to stop in again!

Absolutely fantastic date location would highly recommend. Very eloquent and modern atmosphere, within walking distance of the botanical gardens. Amazing food, wasn't a long wait whatsoever. Go ahead and get you some fried pickles it's worth it. We also got some cocktails with our meal. They've got a great drink selection in general could guarantee you're going to find something you like. In the end all be all, go give them a try 😁😁

There was no wait on a Friday night. The General Manager was helpful and our waitress was excellent. We enjoyed the nachos as our appetizer and they have a great salad selection. Definitely check out their smash burger it is very good. You can enjoy a nice stroll after you eat.

Served my daughter raw fish. Manager had no concern. Server dismissed and said it was “medium”. Additionally, the manager came out and scolded my daughter, a minor, and told her that she should have addressed it with him rather than me calling.

It was 8pm when we got there on a Wednesday night. Parking was horrible. It was crowded and loud. The waitress waited between 15 and 20 minutes between ordering drinks outside of water and to take our order for food. There were out of the first 5 beers my boyfriend tried to order. The waitress didn't come back after leaving our food until we were done and had waited a while to even get a sweet tea refill. The service sucked and the food was bland. I will not go back. One and done.

Wonderful experience, knowledgeable server, very sweet-althlough she was extremely busy had a moment to chat and suggest places to visit with my husband and I who are out of towners. Very good Smashburger and French Dip-adequette portions (I was able to save half and reheat the next day).

This place is 👌👌👌! The fish n chips, chicken tenders and the J Clyde burger are all outstanding. The real star of the show is the selection of beers, wines and meades they have. They have more taps than anywhere else I've been to in Birmingham and the atmosphere is small and homey with excellent service.

Very cool place for a gathering with friends or to hang solo. The food is excellent. A little pricey but good. A nice urban downtown spot near UAB with indoor and outdoor sitting.

Great beer selection. Delicious food. Service a little slow/sparse but they comped my appetizer when it came out very late, so they get the 5 stars from me. The hot rock is very fun to cook with at the table. I had the black bean burger and it was great quality.

This place was amazing and had an excellent beer selection. The food was great even though they have changed the menu temporarily, which means no burgers, but their wings were so amazing that I cant even complain. Go there looking for drinks and ambience, stay for the food. Also, my server told me that they would have their normal selection within a couple weeks. All said and done the beer selection blew my mind.

It was my birthday and my favorite Irish pub had closed down. I searched all over Birmingham for that small tavern feel with good stout beer choices. I found J. Clyde. The list of beer, wine, mead, cider, and cocktails is extensive, so whatever you're craving to drink you'll find something to suit you and you may find new favorites like I did. The food is excellent as well! For an appetizer my wife and I had the sauerkraut balls, which were absolutely delicious so don't let the name fool you, order these little balls of goodness and enjoy. For my entree I had the J. Clyde burger and replaced the goat cheese with beer cheese spread and of course added bacon because well everything is better with bacon. Burgers here can be cooked to order so mine was a delightful medium. The beer cheese spread is like a house made pimento cheese, and for those that like that sort of thing this is as good as it gets. We shared a chocolate bread pudding for dessert which as I recall was very rich and delicious, although by this time I had enough stout in me to float the USS Ronald Reagan so my memory is a bit hazy on that point. The service was excellent. Our server, though his name escapes me, was one of the most engaging and knowledgeable I have ever had. 100% will be back for my next birthday if not sooner. Thank you very much!

What a surprise for a returning long time customer. I walked in wondering if they would take a credit card and I was floored. I guess that gives away how long it’s been. I was floored to see not only did they take a cc but they had numerous beers on tap as well as boiled peanuts and of course roasted as well. I think four flavors of each! Alabama Peanut Company is an absolute gem! We tried the double boiled peanut flight and couldn’t resist adding a fourth flavor for just a few bucks more. Every flavor was spot on. The original salt was classic and comforting, Cajun had the perfect kick, 1907 was rich and savory, and the pineapple lava brought a surprisingly sweet heat we loved. The lady helping us was fantastic. She was super friendly and took plenty of time to chat with us about drink options, which was especially helpful since my wife isn’t big on beer. She offered great suggestions and really made us feel welcome. A fun, flavorful, and genuinely enjoyable experience all around!

The one boiled peanut place I've ever visited that allows you to self-sample the brines so that you can make an informed decision. Ridiculously delicious, top-tier nuts. THE perfect vegan option for road-trip snacking.

Unique institution with a storied history that started operating during the Roosevelt administration (Teddy, not FDR). One of the original roasters is still in operation today! Didn’t have anything besides a small $5 cup of the Alabama Cajun boiled peanuts and a water, but the beer selection looked great and seemed like a good place to hang, watch a game and eat 100s or maybe 1000s of boiled peanuts bc those things are basically crack rocks (addictive, but they won’t ruin your life, like crack). Staff was super kynd and answered a couple history questions I had and chatted about the area for a bit. this was a major highlight of my trip to Birmingham for Phish concerts at Coke Fountain Amphitheater (they had a special peanut flava called “Bathtub Gin” as a nod to the band, very heady).

This is the real deal. Staff is so nice. Steve is really great. He knows the flavors and can make great suggestions. Get a flight!

Tucked into historic Morris Avenue, Alabama Peanut Co. merges Southern nostalgia with a lively, modern twist. Housed in a century-old “Peanut Depot” building, the space retains earthy character—exposed brick, vintage signage, and the hum of antique peanut roasters in action.  The menu is delightfully simple but inventive: boiled peanuts in rotating flavor profiles (Cajun, dill pickle, sweet tea, and more) and barrel-roasted peanuts, all freshly prepared daily.  Their “peanut flights” let you sample multiple varieties—a fun way to appreciate their flavor range.

Fantastic cocktail bar! We had delicious drinks and food! The salt and vinegar chickpeas were fantastic! So was the Bahn Mi! We are visiting from out of town and the owner was so kind to tell us about the area and some entertaining stories about his life! He told us the history of the building as well! 10/10 recommend this place or cool vibes, unique cocktail, and delicious food!

A group of us 4 ladies had so much fun at Parkside on 5th. We met Tim, the owner and he was delightful. The food and drinks were yummy and the atmosphere was perfect. I will be back. And oh, did I mention the candles? I bought several candles from Tim and they all smell delicious. I am a candle hoarder and these are the BEST. Thanks Tim for the cocktails and conversation!

Absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is 10/10. There is a whole back part of parkside we didn’t even know existed. 100/10. The staff is phenomenal and the drinks are superb. We even met the owner who was very kind and welcoming. Everything is Halloween decorated and perfect. Well done! A wonderful bar!!!

Great vibes, easy to listen to bands next door, and toasttab makes ordering and paying quick and easy. Unfortunately the food was just not good. For $26, my portion was very small with tough, overcooked salmon. I was so hungry I had to eat more dinner at home. I would probably go back to hang out with friends and maybe have a drink but would hesitate to order food again.

Update 5/10/24: Things have changed quite a bit since my initial review. Parkside is very different and better in most ways. Better cocktails, better arrangement & seating on their excellent patio, better service, friendlier bartender.. The only thing not markedly better is the food. The old Hotbox was great too, until near the end. Very nice job, new owner. Good bartenders, good drinks, decent beer selection. Sometimes they have something special on tap too.

Bartenders and security are rude to patrons.The Male employee that where's gothic.Is the worst.Im 61 years old I have been going to the Nick for years.I am a member.I have been ask to leave for no reason.Tried to go back in and I'm banned for life over false information that someone posted on social media,The girl I was dating your employees know her.I was at Dave Pub and Your security gothic kid was there causing trouble there which tricked back to the Nick Stupid I have never been in trouble in my life!! Im not a problem I know all the bands and support and promote them. Hell my Brother worked at the Nick What happened to being a little supportive of your patrons.

I didn't know I didn't know nothing, until I realized that I knew onlly a literal handful of bands form all the wall art. This place is like finding a sequel after you finish the first part. Great atmosphere.

This place has all the atmosphere you could ever ask for in a great dive bar! There were band headshots all over the ceiling and tons of kitsch everywhere. The stage for music and the music was amazing. I would recommend this for anyone who is into really cool rock and roll dive bars!

The Nick is always a good time. They even offer open mic nights which really helps local artists of all kinds grow their craft and get exposure. I full support what they have going on. Water is crazy expensive though if you are at a show, so definitely be prepared for that.

Came to Birmingham just to see that1guy. This was my 19th state seeing him in and last night did not disappoint. A guy in the crowd was wearing a tshirt from a local eatery, perhaps full moon bbq, proclaiming to have the best butts in town. Well not last night they didnt. That title belonged to The Nick thanks to the electric Rabbi himself. Buttmachine flooded the air with dense bass vibrations and we even had an appearance from the buttnoggin himself. Who is that guy, and why is he so good at counting to five. The wife and I also got graced with an actual full moon, The Nick (and its patrons) definitely know how to leave a lasting impression. This place does indeed "Rock"

Great place to be talked to like you’re An idiot by the bartenders for no reason. Even though you’re being kind and polite. They do not care about anything. Go buy coke in the bathroom or get blown behind the building. Cesspool

Nice, not crazy, not loud, not trying to sell you high art, but a bar that references the inventors of the cocktails, that adds drawings to the menu, and that provides an ingredient list. The bartender was attentive and discussed the served cocktails while carefully listening to my explanations of what I like in cocktails. The second, off-menu cocktail hit my palate. I would love to see ABVs, carbohydrates, and calories next to the cocktail and I am still looking for the jazzy cocktail bar with comfy leather chairs.

Friends invited me to the bar recently. I'd not heard of it and so it was all completely new to me. The interior of this place had good styling, colors, etc. The place wasn't extremely crowded but there were several patrons when I visited. The result is it felt relaxed but also very social. The drinks had fun themes and names... And there was an extensive menu of them. I think the cocktails average around $13

Man i had one of the best times of my life there watching Mud make all those drinks was like watching an art show everything he put out was so beautiful! I want to be like him when i grow up! I love that this bar uses different kinds of bitters, real egg yoke, fresh juices, and all the different ice! All the cocktails he made me and my girlfriend were superb!!! The atmosphere from the decor to the music is great all the staff were super friendly and very professional! Its like every employee spoke to us very kindly and made sure were we okay without being too pushy. The door guy the waitors and other bartenders i feel like made us feel like they cared about our experience and made it so much better! This is by far the best bar I've been to ever! And i been to bars in new Orleans to vegas atl and Pittsburgh! I wish i could give this bar 10 stars and 5 thumbs up!!!

The cocktails we had were amazing! The service was on point and the place is sparkling clean. We had the Queen’s park swizzle and the painkiller. Highly recommend these two but I’m sure all their drinks are great.

I am in love with this cocktail bar! Queen’s Park is probably my favorite spot to go for incredibly creative, beautifully made & beyond delicious specialty & tiki cocktails. I love the story behind this bar, too. If you don’t know their story, you need to read about it on their website. So sweet! When you walk in, the cool vibe and overall ambiance melts the day’s stress and worry away. And bonus, it’s less than 15 minutes away from my office! If you haven’t been by yet, go! You won’t regret it!

Keep coming back for the Christmas Bar. Amazing atmosphere, good snacks, amazing Christmas themed drinks. Will definitely go back for a third straight year. Bartenders are friendly and awesome.

Miracle on 24th is BACK! Experience the christmas bar through December 30th. The drinks are fun, the atmosphere is everything you want for Christmas and the mugs! Your drinks come in these very cute mugs that are available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds go to charity! Queen's Park isn't a large space, so be prepared to wait in line. My advice is to go early around 4 pm so you get there before the big crowds start.

There was a planned event in the neighborhood with the only food options being the restaurants in the three block area. We arrived around 7 and were told to seat ourselves and I server would take our order. Thankfully we ordered beers from the bar or we would be been there 20 minutes or more without anything to drink. We placed an appetizer and additional drink order then ordered dinner with the expectation of the appitzer coming out soon. At 8:15 we asked for the bill for our drinks because we noticed that only one table has gotten any food in the hour plus that we had been there. The wait staff was friendly and quite apologetic for the delay but there wasn’t anything that they could do about the inability of the kitchen to get the food out. My party and I are all current and former restaurant employees. We understand that good things come to those who wait but an hour for fried cheese and pickles is not acceptable. It was really like they didn’t know that the Birmingham Art Walk was happening because they were certainly unprepared for a crowd. In our hour there we counted 6 separate parties leaving without getting food, they could have been simply drinking but who knows. This area isn’t a place that gets much random foot traffic and should have been ready to make some easy money from the over abundance of people walking around. Unfortunately they were not ready and it showed. Makes you wonder why they are in the restaurant business all.

Went for brunch on a Saturday. Food is decent but nothing special. Would absolutely return for their drink prices though. 5 dollar mimosa pitchers. Huge restaurant too and great outdoor patio.

I wish I could tell you how the food tasted. But after being there over an hour and a half all I had was water. After an hour I was told they were working on it. Then a few minutes later it was “coming right out”. Still nothing. So we decided to leave. My companion went to tell them and they made her pay for her beer. It wasn’t even the beer she had wanted since they were out of the first 2 she ordered that were on the menu. No apologies or explanations were given. They ruined my whole night. I don’t get to go out much and when I do I’d like to enjoy it. We ate at Taco Bell. We were so hungry at that point that anything was good.

Here from Boston checking things out... the place is awesome esthetically! Great set up, nice bar, great TV access around the entire place for sports fans. Great pour on drafts and my loaded fries are awesome without being greasy/over cooked. One man band is killing it!!! Unfortunately there are only 6 patrons here.... what’s up Birmingham!?! Where are YOU? I have a list of places I was told “must stop in”. Stopped in here, it’s great but y’all ain’t here. No fun.

Good local brew as recommended by server at lunchtime after morning of sightseeing. Cubano sandwich was ok, wife's salad looked good. Very good service. Not crowded, looked like everyone else was having their Saturday brunch special

It was amazing. I went for the A Thousand Horses show. My boyfriend and I got dinner. I got the combo sliders meal. I chose the Alabama BLT and the Pimento Cheese Slider. It was delicious. My boyfriend got the wings and they were great also. He got 5 hot and 5 barbecue. I was impressed with the price and size of the wings. Overall good experience. I came to work bragging to the ladies about the food. So we may be coming from Southside to get some food. Good job!

I'm not sure if they have different decor for different nights, but the vibe here is definitely different than what the photos on Google show. The walls are painted with off-the-wall semi-psychedelic artwork and neon lights. My friends and I still had a great time but the drinks were only ok and the prices felt high for what we ordered. It's a place you go to towards the end of a night out.

I really enjoyed this bar. It is so pretty inside. The music selection is a great mix between pop music, r&b, and much more. The drinks were good! Mine came in a cute little cat. They have board games you can play while enjoying your drink. 10/10 I would recommend.

The bartender we had was amazing, she listened to what we were feeling and made us drinks to fit what we liked, not just suggested something on the menu. Great bar! Tonight was our first time visiting and you could tell it was a lot busier than usual due to a wedding part followed by Drag-Bingo. A couple of our orders were wrong but after notifying someone it was quickly fixed. All in all great atmosphere, decent food, fun drinks, and friendly staff. I will definitely be going again!

I was really disappointed with the changes after the remodel. It now reminds me of Continental Drift with the bright colors and poppy theme. This used to be one of my favorite spots - it had such a unique vibe: dark, cozy, and perfect for enjoying excellent craft cocktails. Now, the menu is generic (i.e. lemon drop, basil smash, old fashioned) and even the drinks themselves miss the mark in flavor. The new atmosphere aims for energetic and fun, but music and TVs competing, it’s lost the intimate charm it once had. The bartender was attentive and friendly, which was a plus, but unfortunately that was the only plus of the visit. Sorry to see the old Paper Doll go away. Super disappointing. Someone in the comments mentioned it was a place you might end the evening on, I think I would have to agree.

I used to LOVE this place. But they did a remodel and took away everything I loved 😭 it’s no longer a refined and cozy vibe with impressive craft cocktails, it’s more of a mix of all things pop and trendy with a generic bar menu. It made me so sad. We did stay and try to give it a chance but it just wasn’t for us.

Great little spot. Stopped on our way through Birmingham. Was nice to sit on the lounge couch section and hangout with our 15 month old. Bathroom had a spot to change her. Chicken wings & chicken salad sammy were great and creative, delicious drinks. How can you go wrong!

As I currently sit in this establishment and write this review sitting at the bar. We have been over looked and not attended to for almost 20 min. It’s completely empty and there are three servers and no one has said anything. We were walked past and over looked so many times we just asked for the check to leave. It was really sad. Then we witnessed someone of the other race come to the bar next to us and was greeted within 20 seconds. They have all this lgtbq and equally decor but clearly there is no equality in this establishment.

Great burger! Fun atmosphere - I don’t drink so I can’t review their drink, but loved the green chili burger with waffle sweet potato fries. Quick service, attentive staff in a fun area of town. I appreciated their vertebrae references - fitting for a restaurant named “lumbar”

The food was delicious! I had the cheese burger & sweet potato fries. Drinks were great. My only complaint was that everyone had to go to the bar to order food or drinks as there was no table service.

The location is convenient to downtown and there are other places and activities near. This place is definitely high on my list bring people to and show how great Birmingham is. Oh! Really cute place with delicious cocktails and a great vibe. The staff were fabulous and kept us well taken care of. Only areas of improvement are their shareable plate portion sizes and limited board & card game selection. But the food was so good we stayed for dinner! Worth a stop.

This is our first trip here. Once we arrived we were quickly seated in the middle of the room. I felt a little cramped and in the way. It was a very busy afternoon so there were lots of customers. The atmosphere was moderately loud. Each of us ordered a different dish and it was nothing, in my opinion extra. The "big" BLT had overcooked bacon that crumbled into tiny pieces on regular white bread. So I mostly ate my sandwich with lettuce and tomato trying to pick up the bacon from the plate. My side order was Mexican Street corn it had a refrigerated taste. All I can say is I'm one and done. I think it's more of a gathering place and everybody hangs out together.

Our first experience will probably be our last experience. While the food was great, the service was subpar (at one point my husband had to get up and refill our drinks due to lack of attention to our table) and the atmosphere so loud that it felt like we were yelling just to have a conversation. I had to ask my friends "to say it again" because I couldn't hear some of the things they said the first time at a normal speaking voice. My suggestion is to call in your order and take it home.

We went on a Monday early afternoon, so not really busy, but food and service was great. I got a burger, my husband got a burger and we were sharing wings. The burgers were so filling we took the wings home. Very friendly. Atmosphere was good.

Got in too late for food but got some drinks and got to enjoy the live music! The place is nice and lively!

-Elevators break down consistently, dirty common areas and stairwells. Lack of attention to details can be seen throughout the building. They attempt to fix these problems, but they are only temporary and the problems consistently come back. -Manager said that she has been trying to hire additional maintenance staff for 4+ months and that there is only one maintenance employee working on the whole building. She said that “you can’t always get what you want” when I brought up my complaints about overgrown landscaping, dirty interior hallways and broken doors. Management keeps promising that they have a solution or it will be fixed soon, but they never do. We choose to live at an apartment where all these things are taken care of, and they are not “wants”, they are necessary maintenance that we pay for every month with our rent. -Safety is a concern. There has been a broken exterior door that leads into the building for over a month now.There have been people found seeping in the stairwells along with car break ins in the uncovered parking garage that has the broken stairwell door. There was also a deadly shooting in the street out front within the past year, so you would think that resident safety would be of utmost concern and urgency and that they would at least make the outside doors secure. -Have been a resident for 3 years and will no longer be living here. Every year the cleanliness and quality of living has gone down.

Overall Ion at the Ballpark is a nice place to reside. The apartments are equipped with modern appliances and the office staff are friendly and helpful. It’s conveniently located near UAB, I-65 and Hwy 280.

My son just moved in. So far I am extremely disappointed. One elevator was broken on move in day. Now less than a week later both elevators are broken? My son lives on a top floor, this is ridiculous. Plus the landscaping looks horrible. What am I paying all this money for? Please do better.

I would like to bring to your attention the negligence of the ion at the ballpark previously known as “the venue at the ballpark.” I lived in this community for 4 years and have never seen it run so poorly. Lauren and Sky are very dismissive and unprofessional. When asked for help they portray it as an annoyance instead of trying to make the community better. I was charged over 300$ in cleaning fees per move out which I feel was targeted towards me. I have never been late on any fees and still would be treated poorly. The building is unkept. Dog pee, trash, and poop are all over the building for hours without it being cleaned up. Someone was murdered outside the building, package stolen, and my fathers truck was broken in to. When asked what are they going to do about it they just say sorry with no resolution. No increased cleaning crew, no increased security. Just a simple email saying be aware . I feared for my safety at this complex and they simply did not care. I would not live here ever again. When I reached out to corporate they always said they would look into it and nothing happened. Edit: omg I can’t believe this posted so late. I did in fact post this when I moved out but thanks for the response :)

Constant German roach problem almost every night and found a bunch of dead ones behind the fridge and stove. People definitely don’t clean the apartments before moving in and claimed they would have professional clean before moving in. Professional people should have sealed any cracks and gaps they come through, especially since the kitchen shares same wall with a janitor closet.

They basically charged me 3 times the rent to move into this DUMP and then made up a piss poor excuse of normal wear and tear as an excuse to keep my deposit!!! I paid $100 a month extra for two parking passes and my car still gets towed three times and one month and they expect you to pay and extra $200 to release your car that they basically stole out of a gated parking deck! My car was also hit, and broken into while being in the parking deck! The fire alarm is relentless!! It goes off at 3 am none stop no sleep just noise! The gym has been closed for a few years! They basically took the top floor lounge and create an unsafe workout area! Like it’s a pool table and treadmill together in the same space! It’s weird how management knows Nothing ! But charge you their faults! It was a total nightmare living at ION AT THE BALLPARK! I do not recommend 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

Very unprofessional and corporate doesn’t respond. We have been emailing and calling Scion group for over a year. The apartment is beautiful but non of the amenities work at all. Most of the staff is rude.

can’t say enough great things about this sushi spot—it’s hands-down one of the best in town! Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the quality and freshness of the fish. The variety is outstanding, with a fantastic selection of both classic favorites and creative seasonal specials. You can truly taste the difference in every bite; the fish is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rice is perfectly seasoned.

It’s not cheap but everything that came out was tasty. Enjoyed the pork belly appetizer. And a friend ordered some kind of chicken fajita thing that was pretty incredible. The specialty sushi rolls were ok. Service was great, even for a large group. Did get a little loud, so it might be difficult to hear with a party larger than 4. House red was is Educated Guess which is awesome. Decent option for a client dinner or something a little fancy.

Enjoyed a meal here with family went in from out of town last weekend. Literally brought three separate meals worth of leftovers home to Ohio and enjoyed them over the next couple of days. Absolutely amazing. Delicious with great presentation. Spicy and rich flavor. Cannot wait to return.

The atmosphere here is absolutely astounding. The aromas and the overall vibes are entrancing as well as the beautiful lighting and let's not forget the menu! Nice atmosphere though it does get a bit loud. We had several drinks and they were quite good. The Lumpia (Filipino egrolls) were very good. We also had the pork and steamed buns and the tempura green beans. They were quite good as well. We had a few different orders of rolls and they were all great. My wife had the lamb curry and it was tender and flavorful. I had the Hangover Ramen and it was delicious. I loved it. Finally we had the banana and Nutella egg rolls for dessert. Very good. We all enjoyed dinner very much. Give this place a try 👍

I took the hubs here for his birthday so we could both try something new and it was a great experience! From the moment you walk in you’re captivated by the tranquil music and decorative stairs. Once you get to the actual restaurant, it’s totally different and gives off the best sushi bar vibe! We had the lumpia as an appetizer and loved the complex flavors in something so simple. He got the fire roll and inhaled it so it must have been delicious haha while I tried ramen for the first time! Our server was super attentive and recommended the ramen bowl for a first-timer. It was delicious but come super hungry or prepare to share as I was able to eat it for lunch and dinner the next day! We will definitely be back for more than just special occasions!
