A hidden gem in Birmingham. I like to challenge a bartenders skills to see if they will attempt to make a drink that is not common but you cannot do that here. Every drink is customized based off what you tell them you like. However, you do have the option of order basics. The food was unexpectedly fantastic but yet simple. Nice vibe and atmosphere as well. Great for a date night or being out with friends. My group came in around 11:30pm and the kitchens closes at 1am.

Very cool bar, interesting atmosphere and awesome decor. Had amazing cocktails, and snacked on boiled peanuts. Super friendly staff, and bartenders had a comprehensive knowledge of their craft. A must-try place!

KIND BUSINESS ALERT Christian & Co. are really great. No menu. They will make you your heart's desire in a glass. Ben is wonderful too.

Stopped in just for 1 drink and stayed for 3 more. The paddy melt was out of this world and still thinking of how good it was. Service was polite but not over baring and a please to deal with. Can't wait to return again

Neat little place. The atmosphere is great and the decor is outstanding. The cocktails are craft and made to your tastes so you can tell your bartender what flavor profiles and liqour you'd prefer and they'll make something to your liking. The drinks tasted as wonderful as they looked.

Cool vibes inside this bar. You tell the server or bartender what you like (they asked us 3 questions, I think) and then they make a drink custom for you. We enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back!

They have a great calendar with lots of variety of artists. The crowd is is good, and I have never seen a fight inside or outside. I don't know much about their food but they have nice bartenders and plenty of nooks to sit and have a conversation before or after the show. They have a nice eating area outside. Typical for a downtown location, the parking is sparse but if you're creative and don't mind walking a block or two, there are plenty of spaces available.

♿️Fantastic venue. Sound system was a little much standing near it, but my gods it was an amazing show last night! Bartenders are excellent and friendly. Lots to see and do. Easy access to outdoor patio if you smoke or don't and just need air. Light and sound system guys are amazing. I am very appreciative of one of the employees standing at the top of the stairs. He told me where the ADA side was but it was too late to get through the crowd to get there. Just for reference, it is on the left hand side. He also snapped a pic for me as I could not see well and I am grateful. Got some fantastic video of 10 Years on their 20th anniversary tour. I wanted to get them to sign my leg, but they were so busy. I met the drummer from Kamenar. Twin brothers, amazing show, full of energy. Wish I'd gotten a photo bc they were so much fun.

We were here for a concert, but the coffee bar/ bar was also super cute with video and board games available to play. We had hello shots and a few other drinks that were great and I had a coffee that was delightful. The concert venue portion is small.

This place is super neat! Never been to a venue quite like this before. Came for a concert and left with wonderful memories. The bar service was great and there are so many board games and video games to play. The concert hall was very spacious and the sound quality was spectacular! The way this place is set up is perfect. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff. They have free water scattered around the venue, which is such a wonderful thing so people don’t get dehydrated. Over all this is a wonderful place! 15/10

We saw Of Montreal August 2nd, and it was an excellent show! Great sound and lights, as usual. We've seen Animal Collective and Black Midi there as well. It's a great place to hang out and play vintage video games or board games as well. Highly Recommended !

Good and friendly service. The drinks refreshing with the perfect amount of alcohol, without being overbearing or strong. The sound in a place that small was surprisingly Superior. We had a blast. I will definitely see another venue here. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of 5 is there needs to be more seating available in my opinion

Dive Bar with great music and hold your breath bathrooms. If you like music and good times and a good dive this is it. We had a great experience with the band HiDaze and Chris our most awesome bar tender. Thank you!

Bartenders and security are rude to patrons.The Male employee that where's gothic.Is the worst.Im 61 years old I have been going to the Nick for years.I am a member.I have been ask to leave for no reason.Tried to go back in and I'm banned for life over false information that someone posted on social media,The girl I was dating your employees know her.I was at Dave Pub and Your security gothic kid was there causing trouble there which tricked back to the Nick Stupid I have never been in trouble in my life!! Im not a problem I know all the bands and support and promote them. Hell my Brother worked at the Nick What happened to being a little supportive of your patrons.

I didn't know I didn't know nothing, until I realized that I knew onlly a literal handful of bands form all the wall art. This place is like finding a sequel after you finish the first part. Great atmosphere.

This place has all the atmosphere you could ever ask for in a great dive bar! There were band headshots all over the ceiling and tons of kitsch everywhere. The stage for music and the music was amazing. I would recommend this for anyone who is into really cool rock and roll dive bars!

The Nick is always a good time. They even offer open mic nights which really helps local artists of all kinds grow their craft and get exposure. I full support what they have going on. Water is crazy expensive though if you are at a show, so definitely be prepared for that.

Came to Birmingham just to see that1guy. This was my 19th state seeing him in and last night did not disappoint. A guy in the crowd was wearing a tshirt from a local eatery, perhaps full moon bbq, proclaiming to have the best butts in town. Well not last night they didnt. That title belonged to The Nick thanks to the electric Rabbi himself. Buttmachine flooded the air with dense bass vibrations and we even had an appearance from the buttnoggin himself. Who is that guy, and why is he so good at counting to five. The wife and I also got graced with an actual full moon, The Nick (and its patrons) definitely know how to leave a lasting impression. This place does indeed "Rock"

Great place to be talked to like you’re An idiot by the bartenders for no reason. Even though you’re being kind and polite. They do not care about anything. Go buy coke in the bathroom or get blown behind the building. Cesspool

The inside of The Atomic Bar & Lounge is incredible! It seems like every piece of art and furniture has a story to tell. They have a great drink selection and will be serving food in the near future. The owners put a lot of effort into making patrons feel like they are back in the early 1960's. Definitely an amazing Birmingham nightspot!

Retro coolness at its finest. The vibe, the decor, the staff are all SWELL! Bubbles floated from the ceiling when we walked in... probably a coincidence but wow... how fun. Highly recommend the Chase Lewis cocktail and try to go when you have time to hang out and absorb the decor. There's a lot to look at and it's all utterly fabulous.

This place is a great throwback to bars in the 1960s. Mixed drinks named after locals, good craft bet selection, snacks while you sign, card games and board games, and of course the costumes. If you get lucky enough to get Caley as your waitress, you'll get extra special treatment. Highly recommend!

OH GOSH!!! What a fantastic and an interesting place.. I’ve never to a bar like this. The setup was so much fun. Dark and cozy! They do give costumes to dress up if u would like. Prettiest drinks and lava lamps on tables wow ! It was amazing.. this bar you guys - check it out!!

Had the best experience here! The costumes are so fun but the drinks were amazing. Bartender created a craft cocktail for us that was the best I’ve ever had. Loved the vibe!

This place is a blast. The drinks are incredible and the atmosphere is hilarious. You can try on a costume for the duration of your visit and play games at any of the very cosy table options. The staff is super accommodating and they brought by free popcorn. I’m from out of town and this was my second time through this spot. I think everybody should try it.

Fun and laid back atmosphere, no entrance fee on regular nights. Cocktails were well made; I would suggest Brad Green (as pictured) for a conversation drink. The Paige Robinson (also pictured), Sex Panther and Chase Lewis pack a punch.

Hands down the best cocktail lounge in Bham!! From the moment you walk down the steps, to the time spent in your booth, & even on the busiest day, the staff is always extremely friendly & welcoming. You can feel that everyone in there wants you to have a wonderful, fun experience. Not to mention, the espresso martinis are phenomenal.

Arrived here around 7 pm on a Saturday and there was a lot of empty seating. Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is fun. Prices reasonable for what they provide. If you are a cocktail connoisseur (I am not 🤷‍♀️🙂) they no longer smoke the rims of the glasses of old fashioned s like they used to.

Themed drinks (was Halloween themed for us) , they were very different but the service was awesome and the atmosphere was really amazing Alexa the fortune teller makes some awesome zombie mugs and Yates the Wolfman knows his drinks. Had an awesome evening thanks to them. Cheers to both of yall!

In town on business and always looking for a good cocktail spot. Walking over from the hotel into what felt like a genuine “cocktail cellar” was an experience in and of itself. Beyond just creative cocktails and diverse options, the sole bartender on duty Elle was killing it. Not only did she know her stuff and keep up with demand while running solo, she was also incredibly pleasant and treated everyone with a great attitude.

My absolute favorite bar in bham. Love the atmosphere. It's always the perfect, underground temperature no matter the season. I love a spooky vibe and this bar brings it. They have incredible craft cocktails year round plus seasonal drinks that you'll *die* for.

Great little spot. Stopped on our way through Birmingham. Was nice to sit on the lounge couch section and hangout with our 15 month old. Bathroom had a spot to change her. Chicken wings & chicken salad sammy were great and creative, delicious drinks. How can you go wrong!

As I currently sit in this establishment and write this review sitting at the bar. We have been over looked and not attended to for almost 20 min. It’s completely empty and there are three servers and no one has said anything. We were walked past and over looked so many times we just asked for the check to leave. It was really sad. Then we witnessed someone of the other race come to the bar next to us and was greeted within 20 seconds. They have all this lgtbq and equally decor but clearly there is no equality in this establishment.

Great burger! Fun atmosphere - I don’t drink so I can’t review their drink, but loved the green chili burger with waffle sweet potato fries. Quick service, attentive staff in a fun area of town. I appreciated their vertebrae references - fitting for a restaurant named “lumbar”

The food was delicious! I had the cheese burger & sweet potato fries. Drinks were great. My only complaint was that everyone had to go to the bar to order food or drinks as there was no table service.

This a great place to have a bit to eat drinks and good times with friends. The food is really good, drinks are tasty and creative, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. The location is convenient to downtown and there are other places and activities near. This place is definitely high on my list bring people to and show how great Birmingham is. Oh! Really cute place with delicious cocktails and a great vibe. The staff were fabulous and kept us well taken care of. Only areas of improvement are their shareable plate portion sizes and limited board & card game selection. But the food was so good we stayed for dinner! Worth a stop.

The atmosphere is to die for! And not just because it's so well decorated, but the emotional atmosphere is lovely too. Fun yet relaxing, it didn't feel over crowded or loud. The drinks were amazing! My first time having a gin and tonic, Bunny recommended me the Empress and Elderflower 💕tysm. Honestly Bunny was amazing, we know it's difficult to serve large tables and our family particularly with our diet restrictions can be a lot to juggle, but it was never an issue. And the food was AMAZING, so aromatic and ridiculously delicious! My carnivorous partner said my vegan croquettes were better than his chicken curry roll 😋 not that his was bad, mine was just better. Overall an amazing time and my new favorite place!

Looking for a hangout with delicious tapas and drinks? This is a great spot. Juniper is a one of a kind spot. I no over back from San Francisco recently. I am always looking for good spots. This one checks all the boxes. I love the atmosphere and decor. It’s a comfortable and easy place to talk while enjoying good food and drinks. I am a big fan of tapas. This is one of Birmingham’s jewels.

Was in town for a concert and wanted a place to catch the Saints game on Sunday. This place was perfect. Great food, drinks, and vibe. They even went out of their way to put the game on a TV near us. Highly recommend the wings and onion rings. Carly was an excellent server, very attentive. Easy walk from the Tutwiler Hotel.

Wow! I had to get the Paramount burger, of course, because you have to try the burger named for the place. It was definitely a beast, and hard to wrangle but the flavors were fantastic! The onion rings were also very good - I have never seen such wide cut rings, but I liked it. The horse-ey sauce was also delicious!

The food here was pretty good. Severs were friendly and checked in frequently. Cool signs and banners on the walls.

Visited from Texas at happy hour…Great staff interaction, staff was very polite and attentive games were fun, place was clean including the restroom, food was good, hot and fresh, drinks were worth the price…

We had lunch at a shared table and met some nice folks who were in town for the same concert we were, so that was fun! The food was delicious, and they were able to accommodate our allergies and special needs. Our server was nice and attentive. We look forward to going again the next time we're in town.

Found this cool little spot downtown while visiting Birmingham for the day! 🍗🔥 We tried the Lemon Rosemary Wings and the Great Balls of Fire — both were absolutely delicious! I’m not usually a huge ranch fan (my mom is!), but we both loved theirs — pretty sure it has dill in it, which really sets it apart! The atmosphere was great, and I wish we’d had more time to hang out because all the games in the back looked like so much fun. We sat at the bar, and I can’t remember our bartender’s name, but she was awesome and did a great job!

This place was an amazing venue. Everything was very well set up and organized. The new risers look like they’ll be a great addition. Christ almighty is the bar expensive, $11 for seltzer and $4 for a water is crazy but end of the day it’s a venue bar I knew what I was getting into.

Avondale brewing is a Birmingham staple for craft beer. Been drinking their beer a long time. Glad to know they still have Miss Fancy's available. Great spot with a great outdoor area with plenty of seating and a stage for concerts and a giant screen for television sporting events.

Avondale is one of the best concert venues I've ever visited in my 40 years of going to live shows. It's a very nice intimate, not too flashy concert experience. Buy some tickets and check them out!

Where this brewery excellent is the concert venue. It's all standing only but it's an intimate setting with plenty of portalets. I'd opt for the VIP (A-list) as that gets you out of general admission and into three dedicated beverage serving, AC, bathrooms and food (food selection is not great but okay). So if you like to see the show bit want some of those comforts pay up for the VIP.

Attended the Maddox Batson concert tonight. Everything was well organized and seemed to be easy and flow smoothly. Took one star away because this concert was for young kids mostly, but none of them could see. They announced at the beginning to not have your kids on your shoulders, but that was the only way they could see. I would say this is NOT a venue for a children’s concert. But I would love to come back and see other adult concerts.

I am very upset with this Venue. I drove my two daughters 8 years and 10 years old, two hours to this Venue. The seating turned into first come first serve instead of what the map looked like when choosing seating. They could not see over the masses of people clustered, the venue asked that patrons not crowd the fence in front of the stage but did nothing to stop them. My daughter's didn't see Batson Maddox ONCE during she show. They ended up wanting to leave 45 minutes into the show and we did. Something should have been done BETTER, period. We surprised them after weeks of planning just for this. On top of that as we were loading into the car to leave we heard several gunshots within just a couple hundred yards of us, I ended up rushing them into the car and speeding off. What a disaster for a kids/teen event. $289 for something we could have experienced for free just by parking in the lot. Either don't have concerts there or do something better.

Cool place! This place has real potential . It has the makings of the great bar and restaurant! Floors were sticky, a little dirty, employees were scrambling after they opened to get ready , and no one comes to your table to wait on you . You have to walk to the bar to order your food and drinks , and pick up your drinks. They will bring your food. Staff is luke warm at best. We were the only customers there and drove all the way here to eat at the rooftop bar but staff was “alone” and didn’t want to help us up there . The second customer came in 35 minutes after opening. They were close to a 5 star review with a helpful tentative staff that waits on you and looks out for your needs . Imagine if the place was packed !😥Food was ok

I can't say how many times I've been to Carrigan's, but it's more than 20. I keep going back because they haven't failed to serve up excellent food and drinks. This time we got the salmon salad - so very good - and the smoked pork nachos which were every bit as yummy. Large portions too. The cocktails are really good too. Carrigan's is a long-time and current favorite spot in the city.

We had a nice time and a nice dinner. It was a group of seven of us. The food was good and the service was wonderful. Our bartender, Chris made sure that we all had just what we needed to enjoy the evening. He made some recommendations for local beers and even made an espresso for one in our party. There was a private event upstairs the night we were there, so I’m not sure if it was blocking the elevator, or if they just don’t have an elevator that goes to the roof, but we had a mobility challenged person, so none of us went up to the roof top. Inside outside and rooftop options really helps at this place apart and if you’re trying to beat that Alabama heat, the AC was ice cold on the inside.

Met some friends here for late lunch (1pm) who came from out of state to see DMB at the new amphitheater. We had the ultimate pleasure of having Jade as our bartender. 10/10 for drink recommendations. Whether if it’s off the menu or one of his own creations…Drink it!! So good. 10/10 for food. We destroyed the Salmon Dip. Ordered the cauliflower burger but they were out of cauliflower. Jade being a super cool guy and a vegan, recommended substituting the hot honey veggies for the cauliflower and it was amazing. We ate all of our veggies!! Loved the atmosphere. Thank you Jade for making our first time at Carrigan’s such a great time. ✌️❤️

This is definitely one of those places where I would only go if a friend wanted to go. Esthetically pleasing & cute vibes. Even the food “looks” pretty/ presentable. However, the food was super plain. Not very good flavor at all. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re wanting good food.

Carrigan’s is awesome! They have plenty of outdoor and rooftop seating options as well as inside. You order right from your table by scanning a QR code with your phone. Our drinks were brought to our table faster than we could have went to get them. The service was great and the employees were all super friendly. The cocktails were great and appetizers we ordered were awesome as well. Free parking in large surface lot located nearby. FYI This location is 21+

Carrigan's is my new favorite hangout! Went with a group and it didn't slow them down a bit, plus they have so many great cocktail options it was hard to stop. The food was also top notch. I really enjoyed the Falafel Gyro and everyone else's selections looked good as well. A huge plus is that they have dedicated parking so you don't have to drive around all over looking for a spot. Absolutely can't wait to return.

Decent sandwiches, nothing super special from what my wife and I had. Courtyard is nice and relaxing. Good beer selection. Definitely not worth the 1 hour wait for food.

Didn't know what to expect as we walked in. Meal after Sunday message was the goal. Small but invitingly interesting. The menu consisted of sandwiches, soup, and tuna salad. The place is actually more of a pub as it had a vast beer selection. I had the Fritz, which was delicious and HUGE!! Enjoyed the meal and the experience.

This was my first time here, met my cousin here for lunch and loved the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place! Not pretentious and very unique - it is definitely a hidden gem! Loved the uniqueness of how it was set up - if you wanted something from the bar, you went up to the bar and ordered it, if you wanted water- it is self served. Food was ordered around the corner from the grill and actually got to pick all your ingredients and tell the actual cooks! Received my order and it was delicious and just like I ordered!!!! Loved it and will be back soon!

Very unique place. Outdoor indoor seating. You have to buy and pay for your beer at the bar counter and then you get a table number for your food or you order at the counter as it’s sandwiches only. I had a good time. It’s something to check out

Jordan is by far the most attentive hostess/bartender that I’ve ever encountered. I cannot recommend enough coming here and asking for her. She will take care of you, maintain whatever it is that you have on the table, and make sure that you feel special and incredibly important. There will never be another bartender quite like her. If I could recommend any location, it would be this Birmingham location just to see her. The new food is great!!!!!!!

Came for just a drink and ended up eating from their newly updated menu and stayed all evening. First time visit but we were made to feel like regulars. Jordan openly chatted like we had known each other forever. Definitely a stop Everytime we visit from now on!!

I think This is a drinks only bar. We went and throughly enjoyed the visit. They have a great happy hour and either live music or a DJ frequently. Bree was our server and she was friendly and knowledgeable. Bar service was quick and drinks were fabulous. Fresh fruit mixers and great selection of tequila and mezcal. Super laid back atmosphere and plenty of comfortable booths and couches for relaxing. Well appointed and spotlessly clean it was a pleasure. Adios is awesome! Emily, always greets me AND remembers my fav drink even tho she serves hella customers. She's so friendly and always has a smile on her face, as well as the rest of the staff! Very clean and PHENOMENAL drinks.

A bar in downtown Birmingham that has an awesome mellow vibe.. My boyfriends nephew was the DJ for the night.. I would recommend this place if ur looking for somewhere chill an different.. They have a THC drink I tried which was awesome cuz I don't drink alcohol..

I think this may be my favorite cocktail bar in Birmingham. I have only been twice so far but both times I was blown away by the drinks we ordered. The service both times was perfect. The atmosphere is so calming. We even brought our books oneday and it was nice just drinking and reading a bit.

The business has an illegal parking next to it with no sign. I want to be reimbursed for the lack of signs and acknowledge from the business. There should be some accountability for not asking the customers where you parked. Choose another bar might cost you more than just the drinks like $160 for paying tow company

Great venue for a small show! Saw Larry Fleet and it was a good show. Standing room general admission concerts. You will stand for hours. If you need a cushy seat in club level so you can be on your phone this is not the place for you. If you are there for the music and appreciate seeing someone in a small venue then it is amazing.

I've seen lots of shows at Zydeco, and attended other events like crawfish boils etc. This time we saw K. Flay and it was great as usual! The venue, like the whole place, is a dive. It's looked basically the same for about 20 years - and that's a good thing! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

For my first time ever at the venue I would say my first impression is that is a very Urban fun kind of hit place to be it seems like no matter the music the people are well Blended while around a no one got too crazy seem like some people are over friendly but that's anywhere you go the staff the performers and all top-notch will definitely use then you again and definitely recommend to others.

i appreciate the wide variety of bands but i feel like i'm dying when i go here. the ceiling is so low that you can't see the band that you paid to see. the ventilation system is nonexistent so you're barely able to breathe. the picture is from me standing on the side of the venue where there's almost a box built? it's hard to explain

I'm not sure if they have different decor for different nights, but the vibe here is definitely different than what the photos on Google show. The walls are painted with off-the-wall semi-psychedelic artwork and neon lights. My friends and I still had a great time but the drinks were only ok and the prices felt high for what we ordered. It's a place you go to towards the end of a night out.

I really enjoyed this bar. It is so pretty inside. The music selection is a great mix between pop music, r&b, and much more. The drinks were good! Mine came in a cute little cat. They have board games you can play while enjoying your drink. 10/10 I would recommend.

The bartender we had was amazing, she listened to what we were feeling and made us drinks to fit what we liked, not just suggested something on the menu. Great bar! Tonight was our first time visiting and you could tell it was a lot busier than usual due to a wedding part followed by Drag-Bingo. A couple of our orders were wrong but after notifying someone it was quickly fixed. All in all great atmosphere, decent food, fun drinks, and friendly staff. I will definitely be going again!

I was really disappointed with the changes after the remodel. It now reminds me of Continental Drift with the bright colors and poppy theme. This used to be one of my favorite spots - it had such a unique vibe: dark, cozy, and perfect for enjoying excellent craft cocktails. Now, the menu is generic (i.e. lemon drop, basil smash, old fashioned) and even the drinks themselves miss the mark in flavor. The new atmosphere aims for energetic and fun, but music and TVs competing, it’s lost the intimate charm it once had. The bartender was attentive and friendly, which was a plus, but unfortunately that was the only plus of the visit. Sorry to see the old Paper Doll go away. Super disappointing. Someone in the comments mentioned it was a place you might end the evening on, I think I would have to agree.

I used to LOVE this place. But they did a remodel and took away everything I loved 😭 it’s no longer a refined and cozy vibe with impressive craft cocktails, it’s more of a mix of all things pop and trendy with a generic bar menu. It made me so sad. We did stay and try to give it a chance but it just wasn’t for us.

Trey was an incredible bartender. Even kept an eye on a situation involving unwanted attention. Also! Ask him about drinks he likes to make. I can't remember the name, but my drink was delicious!

This is the best karaoke bar on Earth! Every person is welcome here; great crowd, the most loving and encouraging host. Just love. Traveling, passing through. Lucky to stumble on this gem. Hopefully they don't start getting karaoke tariffs

Kool place. Great grilled cheese for late night. Best time to go there is Tuesday for the open jam night hosted by some Kool fellas including Leif and Gary and Frank and Graham.

Meant to write this the other night, but I was out with some folks enjoying the evening. We’d heard there was food available, but the bartenders told us it wouldn’t be happening until after summer. This was confusing, especially since the owner had just been promoting it on social media the day before. That said, we didn’t make a fuss and just left shortly after. I was really hoping this place was on the comeback, it’s an OG pub, and I didn’t want to see it fade away. But times change. People grow, and we don’t have to support businesses where the ownership isn’t respectful. Anyway.

Owner Took to reddit then deleted entire account but the internet keeps things forever! owner explained he had invested $25K in the menu, but the turnout wasn’t enough to justify the cost. He said he’s pausing things until after summer. Owner being "a bit unfriendly" is an understatement. Not only did he remove it, but he deleted his entire account after he also made a comment about wanting to physically fight someone.

Excellent location and service here! The outside bar is great to sit and eat lunch from the many food sources nearby ! Just a beautiful historic spot in Birmingham!

Visited on a Saturday. The game was on, but not a lot of people which was odd cause it seemed to be the perfect place to chill and watch the game. Anywho, would visit again for sure.

"Pretty" Ricky was a fantastic teacher and bartender ask for him and use the name 😅 We signed up for a cocktail-making class, and it included three drinks and a recipe card at the end so you can make it at home! The tips and tricks he showed us was pretty memorable and you can record the session so hardly any pictures 📸 but I got you on the videos. Would definitely be back with another set of friends

A little pricey, but the drinks are worth it. There is a cute loft out back where you can watch the BHM sunset and most times there's a food truck next door that serves Latin fusion food. They let me bring the food into the bar when I went last time. I totally recommend for a cute evening out with friends.

We went to Mayawell a couple of weekends ago after eating an early dinner at Blueprint on 3rd, which is right down the street. This place has a great, laid-back vibe with a good selection of drinks. You can sit inside at/near the bar, out on the patio, or on their rooftop. We tried: We'll Never Be Royals, the Spicy! Margarita, and El Caballero. The bartenders are great and well-informed, so ask them for recommendations. We did and weren't disappointed! We'll be back soon!

I went to celebrate a coworker’s college graduation. I loved the cozy atmosphere. I had one mock beverage, and shared a drink with a friend that had Cucumber, Tequila, Lime, Lavender and maybe more. It was just right. It’s a quaint place where you can really make yourself comfortable. They have a rooftop patio that would be fantastic on warm nights. The food truck had great food and was really accommodating. We had a big order and the bartenders never made us feel rushed and came at all the right times. They paid special attention to details and could make drinks that you wanted by describing the taste that you were going for. I love the location and convenience to 280 and 20/59. Easy entry and exit. Right at Pepper Place so great options around.

We went to Mayawell last night after an evening with coworkers at top golf, our server was phenomenal, drinks were fantastic and totally chill and cool ambiance, it’s a great choice for a late night drink to hang with friends!!

This place is very unique and a must visit if in the area! The womb room had us dying laughing. Our table had a switch that said “do not touch” and bubbles come out of the ceiling when you did. Service was good. The heather Niven cocktail was ok (not fan of the banana) but preferred the Brian cauble although the “earthy” Description kept me from originally ordering it.

A very fun bar. The atmosphere was so good. They have a lot of unique decorations that make a great vibe. A lot of group playing games are available to have a fun night with friends. Delicious drinks. It doesn't feel like a bar visit, but more like a little adventure into another world.

We popped into House of Found Objects on Friday Night, not realizing it was the same bar as Automatic. We could not have enjoyed it more. The quirky atmosphere was a blast. The drink options and prices were fantastic. I cannot possibly convey how awesome the service was! Kat was attentive, fun and was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. She recommended all of the drinks my husband and I enjoyed and she was spot on with her suggestions. Already planning our next visit!

Get ready for one of the best experiences you will have at a cocktail bar! The moment you step into this Meow Wolf style bar you feel like you were zapped into a Flaming Lips music video! The music, videos, bubbles, and all things objects will keep you entertained all night. It also helps that the cocktail menu is fun and exciting. If you are in Birmingham, Alabama and don’t go to this place you must hate having fun! Enjoy!

Best bar in Birmingham — and we have tried ALL of them. The drinks are good (and at great prices, for Birmingham), but the staff and atmosphere are really what makes the place so special. They take a lot of pride in what they do and go out of their way to make sure everyone feels celebrated. Forever grateful for our HOFO crew!

The place was busy and crowded but we were able to secure a table after being there for about 15 minutes waiting. The drinks were good and the games were entertaining.

We have always enjoyed our visits to the Vulcan. It is the best view in Birmingham. The museum is great for folks who want to learn more about the history of The Steel City and history of the Vulcan. The scavenger hunt for children is very fun and a nice little touch to add to the experience. The gift shop has a nice variety of souvenirs and gifts at a reasonable price. Be sure and get a squished penny from the crank machine as you’re leaving, it will cost ya two quarters and of course, one penny. It’s a wonderful keepsake. The restrooms are very clean and well stocked and there’s a water fountain that is in working order and very clean. The trip to the top of the Vulcan consists of 108 stairs, if you choose to skip the elevator or it isn’t working. It’s worth the climb. Go at sunset you’ll see beauty that’s unexplainable. The meeting spaces are perfect for conferences and really any social or corporate event. I have attended several here and they’re always beautiful and fun with plenty of space for guests, catering, and all vendors to operate. It’s a beautiful setting.

I learned a lot about the history of Birmingham, the mining & iron making. I walked up the entire tower by staircase, as the elevator seemed fast & I have a fear of heights. The balcony around the top is very high, you can see THROUGH the walkway to the ground beneath you & I heard it creek a bit. This is not for those with a height issue, but it is beautiful to come & see from the ground & learn it's history. Even at the foot of the statue you can see downtown Birmingham. I enjoyed it.

My visit to the Vulcan Statue and Park was an absolute highlight of my trip to Birmingham. Not only is the iconic statue itself an impressive piece of history, representing the city's industrial past, but the entire complex offers so much more. The observation tower provides absolutely incredible panoramic views of the entire Birmingham skyline and the surrounding Red Mountain area – truly a photographer's dream, especially around sunset. The museum, while not huge, is surprisingly well-done and informative, giving you a deeper understanding of Vulcan's significance. The grounds are beautifully maintained, making it a pleasant place for a walk. It's easy to get to, with ample parking, and offers a fantastic blend of education and memorable scenery. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to truly experience Birmingham!

Hands down the best view of Birmingham. The view from the top is 360 degrees and is wonderful. Be sure to check out the museum for some of the regional history. Visit the Lone Pine mine while you are there to get a sense of what life was like in the early days of Birmingham.

Nice park to visit with views of the greater Birmingham area. The museum has good exhibits on the foundry history of the city as well as the history of the civil rights era. Easy to get to , easy access to the area. The park area is freezing there's a fee to go up the pedestal and the museum. I thought it was cool and worth it.

Dog friendly and have a super cool hiking trail. Found my peach in life here High recommend for having a good time No need for tickets for hanging around

I hate to give this only 4 stars as it was a awesome site to see. What I was extremely disappointed about was the elevator was broken and they wasn't discounting tickets or anything. I really wanted to go to the top, but as we were vacationing and had already walked miles, my legs just wasn't up to take the stairs all the way up. Enjoyed seeing it and the grounds. Maybe next time I'm through Birmingham, the elevator will be working and I can go up.

Fantastic dining experience. The menu was exciting, quite difficult to narrow down my choices! Service was second to none, our server knew the menu inside and out and was very accommodating. I finally chose the fried seafood starter (red snapper, shrimp, oysters) which put me on cloud nine, and the swordfish steak for my main. The swordfish was equally perfect haha. The only issue my wife and I had was the background noise (talking/etc) was a dull roar. Not really a peaceful setting- but it was a saturday night dinner. Would've liked something quieter but won't dock a star for that.

We booked a month out to get a 6:15 reservation for a Saturday night. Overall a solid meal but not the wow I was expecting. The service was good ... water glasses never went dry but my iced tea was not refilled as you would expect. The waiter was both knowledgeable and professional. Our party of three tried a variety of appetizers, main courses and desserts. The appetizers we good but not great. I sampled the fried mixed seafood fry as an appetizer. The seafood was fresh but the batter was a little heavy and unevenly cooked. It appeared to be a spin on tempura batter but came off too thick. My main course was Gulf Flounder with new potatoes and haricot vert. I also chose a side of asparagus. The portion of fish was good but again it was cook uneven. Flounder is a thin fish so in my opinion this dish would have been better prepared using a snapper or grouper. My wife tried the duck breast. I sampled hers and the flavor was good but the meat was a little tough. The dessert round was the best by far. I enjoyed the banana ice cream bar while our table also ordered the coconut cake and warm strawberry cobbler. I sampled all three and found them all to be on point with my expectations. My favorite was the coconut cake. Overall a nice dinner is a comfortable atmosphere but at this price point I am not sure it was worth it.

I was super impressed with all the food from start to finish and service was great! The baked grits did not disappoint and the beef shoulder was amazing. The sweet potato pie with ice cream was a nice dessert.

There are so many things I loved about dining here! Impeccable service, agreeable wine selection, excellent oysters with delectable dipping sauces, mixed lettuces salad with slivers of pickled carrots, and the truly inspired deviled eggs. The mushrooms and grilled asparagus sides exploded with flavor. The atmosphere is warm with a great vibe. Two anomalies surprised me. The water was unfiltered and had an off odor, and the Strip steak wasn't hot when it was served. Otherwise the evening was perfect.

Great food and service. This restaurant has been a contender for the James Beard Award multiple times and I see why. We ordered the Crab Claw appetizer, grilled Venison (oh deer), and Pork Belly & Quail. All were fantastic. The Crab had a oil and citrus marinade that worked so well. The Venison was cooked perfectly and not very gamey and the pork belly and quail was amazing.

Ok, I’m in town for a few days and all the locals are like you have to try this place it’s the best restaurant... but then I am from Chicago, one of the biggest foodie towns, so sure I’ll try ... OMG THIS PLACE WAS GOOD. I was shocked to find a restaurant here with that type of selection and service with its prices. I have dined at many Michelin restaurants, and this place deserves one. Stacy helped me out and his recommendations were on point. If you don’t dine here, then your trip to Birmingham isn’t complete.

This place is delightful. From the host/maitre 'd to the wait staff to the chefs, this place is all top-shelf. We had oysters for an appetizer and they were delicious, succulent little bites of the ocean. My Gulf triple tail was excellent and my dining companions loved their entrees: black grouper and venison. The wine, cocktail, appetizer, dessert and coffee selections are all off the charts... We "snuck in" without a reservation, but that was a fluke. This place - for good reason - is booked 6-8 weeks or more in advance. We squeezed in by asking at the host stand... They got us in and we were overjoyed!!!

Visited the food court, specifically the Spun Cow, for dessert after a lunch outing with the work crew. Other than locating parking, I had a tasty tree and enjoyable experience. Definitely try the ice cream!

Well it wasn’t what I expected and for sure not what’s posted on the website. A few places were closed down, so there wasn’t many food selections. I guess I was expecting more glitz, glamour and music . For a Friday night it felt like any old hang out spot. We did try the pho and it was awesome with great flavor good portion and Soon’s customer service was awesome!!!

The Pizitz Food Hall is a lively downtown gem in Birmingham — modern, eclectic, and packed with local flavor. With global cuisine options from tacos to ramen, and a full bar at its heart, it’s fun for groups. A few stalls close early, and prices lean upscale, but it rarely disappoints. I had Ono poke and it was so good. Definitely great place with lots of options 👌

Stepping into The Pizitz Food Hall feels like entering a modern urban crossroads of flavors. With more than a dozen food vendors under one roof, it offers an impressive culinary diversity—from ramen and poke to tacos, Middle Eastern fare, Ethiopian specialties, and elevated comfort foods.  The variety is definitely one of its strong suits. You can mix and match — grab a burger from The Standard, follow it with a dessert from Spun Cow, or try a shawarma or falafel plate at Eli’s Jerusalem Grill.  The environment is casual and upbeat, with a full bar in the center lending a social hub feel.

I had a beef pho and tornado potato. I absolutely loved this pho place! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Tornado potatoes are perfect for appetizers.

Went to the Pizitz Food Hall with a friend. I've been to cultivation food halls before, but the selection here is nothing short of astounding. I tried some Indian Cuisine, eating some Tandoori Chicken and garlic Naan bread. It was from Silver Kati: Indian Street Food and it was pretty darn good. The food was hot and made to order, the ingredients were so fresh, and it was worth the rather high price. My friend also enjoyed his burger and fries from The Standard. I also got a traditional southern praline from The Birmingham Candy Company. It was also very good. Just be careful how much you get, because I've seen people spend thirty dollars on 6 or 7 items. The biggest downside is the parking. My friend and I had to park a couple blocks away from each other and it took several minutes to find adequate parking (and each other again), but considering this is in downtown Birmingham, it is what is. I defiantly plan on coming back here!

Phenomenal selection of food. I've been to Ono Poke, Momo, Pho Pho, and Eli's Jerusalem Grill, while stopping by the Louis bar for beer and wine in between. The wide selection of options is impressive, the atmosphere is very hip but relaxed, and the building itself is gorgeous.

We had a great time watching the battle of the bands an hour young star guitarist and vocalist. The layout of this venue has always seemed a bit uncomfortable to me. No food except for the little snack bar/coffee bar next door and it seems that the sound system is often an issue. The seating is either metal chairs at tables or a booth if you are able to get one, or standing. While the four of us were as close to the stage as we would have wanted, it cost us $175 before we had the first drink or snack. I realize that the pricing decisions are not just made by the venue. On the plus side, I felt safe and the staff was courteous and the build out/architecture of the place is pretty cool. I'm encouraged that they seem to promote local talent as well as big name entertainers. We had an opportunity to bring our own food and soft drinks, which was nice and did save us a little money. Overall it was a really good experience as we got to see the band we came to see as well as several more good local bands. We will go back !

Hands down a go-to spot in Birmingham! Husband and I visited a couple of other coffee shops nearby, but WorkPlay truly stood out… and it’s way more than just a coffee spot. There are tables, outlets, cozy rooms, and two full levels, perfect for working, meeting, or just relaxing. The drink menu had coffee to teas to cocktails (and cocktails). But what really caught us off guard (in the best way) is that this place also house to an incredible concert/theatre/recording studio space. It’s like discovering a hidden gem that blends creativity, music, and community all in one. Shoutout to Josh (one of them!) for the amazing service.

Went here for the Archers concert. Super cool venue! Great bar, great coffee shop, and super cool people working here. My girlfriend recently suffered an injury and is having some mobility issues. Without even asking, they offered us a nice little table to sit at! We look forward to coming back again in the near future.

Please stop allowing small children into the pit at deathcore/heavy metal shows. No one can really enjoy themselves, because we're all worried about someone's kid getting hurt. It's ridiculous and uncomfortable. I love that kids are into it, but I paid to enjoy the show, not watch out for someone's little.

The concert I went to was standing room only . It was very hot but the concert was great! Security was great and super efficient.

It's always a fun experience whenever I go. You can chill at Lee's Coffee shop and enjoy the ambiance of music and good drinks or enjoy the many rooms you can explore when you're at an event. If you want a new experience please head over to Workplay it'll be worth it.

Three stages booking diverse acts, a coffee shop, recording spaces, a bar, a hair salon, workspaces... ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?? If that isn't enough, the people are some of the nicest and most genuine that I've ever met. I cannot recommend WorkPlay highly enough!

If you are ever in the "Ham" you should definitely head down to historic Morris Ave and visit La Fete. My experience here was one of fine chef inspired dining, great atmosphere and really good service. Every one of the staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Bar service was quick and kitchen service was also quick for the level of culinary arts going on in the back. I sat at the bar and found the bartender engaging and knowledgable. The restaurant is nicely appointed, restrooms are clean and nice. There is a small bar and several tables inside, they also have covered outdoor seating. Reservations are recommended. First, I wanna shout out James, who was the lovely host. You took care of me and my partner and made sure we were attended to. I really appreciate that. Our server Drew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu which helps since this was my first time here. The restaurant is really cute. I was also able to speak briefly with the owner and she seemed really nice as well. I highly recommend everyone Come and check this place out. From stepping inside, you almost feel like you’re transported to another place. Maybe even a different time. Quite honestly, I could’ve stayed here all afternoon. The food speaks for itself. Everything was amazing. I had the brunch burger, which I could tell it was a high-quality burger. Next time I come, I wanna try those rolls cause they look to die for.

Came here with some friends for dinner, while in town. We had a really great experience with delicious food and good service. Definitely order the potato pavé, it's heavenly! If you're into charcuterie, do not miss the house smoked bratwurst, chicken liver mousse, and country pâte. Another standout was the Steak Tartare. The latticed potato chips were perfectly salty and added great texture to the tartare. I also tried the trout which arrived topped with accoutrements of blistered tomatoes, charred onions, summer squash, zucchini and okra. Delicious!

Loved the “Party” bistro! Food was great - excellent pommes pave and croque madame. We will definitely come back. The bar is the best seat in our opinion.

I had high hopes for this place, and I hate leaving average reviews much less negative ones but they took over 30 minutes to bring a carrot cake that the waiter successfully sold me on. It was good once it finally came out. The steak frites also came out without the peppercorn sauce I ordered with it , and came with the other one which I didn’t care for. The steak was good though. Their version of the French 75 was also pretty solid. The length of time it took plus the wrong sauce brought my rating down but it’s worth checking out.

My two friends and I all went here and loved it! It was my first time in this city, and they wanted to take me to their fav place. The service was amazing and the owner was super nice. 10 outta 10. I’ve literally never left a review before, but I had to for this place. Definitely a must visit

Really cool bar! Live music and great drinks. 3 stars because the ladies' bathroom door has a gap in it when closed. I worried someone could see me through the crack. Wish I took a photo of it! I'm hoping the right person sees this review, and resolves the issue.

Nice place. Good live music most of the time. Usually not too crowded. You can find young and mature people here. You won't feel out of place regardless of your age. Only problem is to find a parking spot on weekends, but that is the norm in this area of town.

The venue is very good for smaller performances. It had been a few years since we had been to Iron City. We bought the Early Bird option and based on our earlier visit, we proceeded to walk in the unlocked Grille side door. We walked in and all the way into the venue before Security stopped us. They were very nice and took us around to the front door. Early bird lineup on the left side and regular lineup to the right. Once inside, the bar was good and we stood the entire performance on the front row. The option of sitting at a table is very expensive. All in all, a great night. But I could see if the performance was packed it would not have been as enjoyable. Security team was great IMHO. I would definitely go back for a band I wanted to see.

Iron City is hands down one of the best venues I’ve ever been to. I came to see Santigold and that concert is etched into my brain. The energy, the atmosphere, the sound… all unforgettable. Security was super helpful and made me feel safe from the moment I checked in. The bar staff was kind and patient, even when I had a few too many questions about the drink menu. They took their time, no rush, no attitude, just good vibes all around. The sound quality was phenomenal, and the visuals added a whole extra layer to the experience. I walked out absolutely buzzing with happiness. Iron City nailed it, and I can’t wait to go back!

I do wish there was dining available for the vip tables upstairs, but overall I've had a pleasant time attending the two shows I've seen there.

Great venue. Was easy to get in and out of. Close to the hotels near UAB. Loved that the bar was so accessible. For it to be a small venue, even when it was packed out, it didn’t feel cramped. We came from out of state so I don’t know how likely it is we’d be back, but I would definitely see another show here.

The bar is pricey, but the venue is very nice. It's cleaner than I was expecting it to be for a public venue for concerts. The acoustics are great for music. Nice little spot.

Pepper Place in Birmingham is a gem that perfectly blends community, culture, and cuisine. The market offers a stunning array of fresh produce, artisan breads, cheeses, and unique handmade goods—perfect for foodies and craft lovers alike. Every Saturday, the air is filled with the aromas of freshly roasted coffee, sizzling breakfast tacos, and baked treats that make it impossible to leave without sampling something.

Upscale shopping and some unique local collections. We showed up as the farmers market was ending but will come back. Hop city close too for brew and some great food truck pizza. Also looked like some really cool professional spaces if you’re looking for office space.

If you have yet to visit this place, you are missing out. It’s early on Saturday mornings but so worth setting your alarm. This is Birmingham’s 20th plus of the most beautiful day.

Cool atmosphere even though it was blazing hot & crowded. Some of the food trucks were parked over into the handicapped ramps making it hard for strollers or impossible for a wheelchair.

Nice selection of fruits, vegetables, fresh baked goods and handmade items. Fun to walk around and just take it all in. Pet Friendly on a leash.

I used to love this place. It was a speak easy with all the speakeasy requirements. The manager and the bar tender were top tier. The cocktails were special and creative but you could still get a good classic. These days it appears to be bought out. They want it to be more of a modern club instead of the speakeasy lounge. Staff is uninformed. They don’t wear the shirts that match the bathroom wallpaper. Ugh it’s so disappointing. Used to be my favorite low key spot that you could go to alone. Now they’re turning it into another hip hop / edm club but for some reason they haven’t changed the name or the decor.

UPDATE 2/7/25: Well everything seems to have improved! With new ownership, excellent Asian fusion food (think Umami) and faster, better service - it's a new and much improved experience. Happy hour is not to be missed. It was cool before, but now it's cool and also one of BHM's best! - - - The Marble Ring is a unique and beautiful speakeasy with cushy couches and comfy chairs. This was my fourth visit and we went to see Top Shelf Burlesque do a show. It was lots of sexy fun! As it isn't a large space and some seats were reserved (didn't know you could do that..), we ended up sitting at the bar. That wasn't ideal for the show, but we thought at least we'll have an easy time ordering drinks - unfortunately not so. The drinks we got were very good and well-presented, but service was very slow from friendly but inattentive bartenders. We definitely would have ordered a couple more drinks if it had been easier to grab their attention. They all seemed busy, but our friends were sitting at the bar for more than 10 minutes before anyone even noticed them to take a drink order. Otherwise, it was a fun experience and we will return and hope for better service next time. Pic is the very tasty smoked Old Fashioned. With some effort, I had two.

Nice to see a cool cocktail bar in Birmingham. The bar food was excellent (had grilled mushrooms, brussel sprouts and 50/50 dumplings). Drinks were very good, would say favorite was Bee Knees Lavender.

Located behind a tardis this speakeasy style bar is a step back in time when cocktails were an important to the end of your day. Long day of hard work and all you need is a stiff delicious drink and some great music! Enjoy!

Wonderful cozy speakeasy tucked away in Avondale. You enter by walking up a staircase into a vestibule with a pay phone. Pick up the receiver and tell the person who answers how many are in your party - then the magic begins. The bartenders mix up amazing drinks while you enjoy the atmosphere. It's a step back in time with awesome modern cocktails. Both of our bartenders were great and I can't wait to return.

My wife and I spent this past evening at this fun and interesting secret little hidden bar off 41 Street. Nothing like buzzing into a 1920’s prohibition bar. Two great bartenders, Grayson and Rob took great care of us. Drinks were potent and nothing is watered down here. Lots of cozy nooks, great vibes and interesting 1920’s pictures. Large heated outdoor upper deck patio. You stay here long enough, you will end up dancing on the bar like Zelda! They need to sell roles of the decorative wallpaper. Need service at your table, just pull the string and watch the magic picture frame light up. If your looking for some good custom cocktails with a taste of the 1920's, this is the place to go! Love it!

A throwback to the good old days of the Juke Joint and Speak Easy. You have to experience it so I won't spoil the fun by being too descriptive. The decor is late 1900s with a very interesting wallpaper pattern 🔎😉. The drinks are Top Shelf. Take your Special Someone, friends, family or colleagues you're sure to enjoy.

Tonight the bouncer rejected me with my real drivers license and refused to accept any of the other forms of identification I provided because the “hologram” wouldn’t show up on my ID. He didn’t even have an actual ID scanner… If mom’s basement accepts donations I would love to make the generous gift of a functioning scanner. I also have a 22 year old friend who was rejected the other day with her real drivers license… ridiculous

Super cool atmosphere but the “security” and bar tender need to chill out a little bit. These guys are always in your business and threatening. Kind of ruins the vibe. Bathroom situation is terrible and the staff will yell at you for knocking or walking out of there thinking you weren’t alone. Super cool place but the staff is ruining the vibe there lately. When asked , they said they have to keep the “hooligans” under control. Our party of mostly 30+ was a little offended and asked if we were being hooligans and they said no, but still treated us with this awful power trip. Better ways to handle it. Don’t let the staff ruin this place, because it is a great spot. It was almost as if the staffs guard was up and on the look out for something. Regardless, you can maintain professionalism and manage your facility still. Oh and $5 cover because there is a DJ? He played old school vinyl for 45 minutes and then played music through a phone. Again, don’t let this place slip from the stupid little things.

Was there for 1 hour and could not get a drink so we finally left. Definitely need more staff. It's bad when you go to a bar and can't get a drink. Kinda the only reason you go....

If you are from another state (especially one not in the south), you might want to avoid this place. THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ID SCANNER! The manager (blonde lady) kept saying my ID made her uncomfortable (after already being there for about an hour) even though it is a VERIFIED REAL MARYLAND ID.. like if the airport can take my ID, I am sure this small bar in alabama can take it.. but also, my friends said that there were racist undertones behind the manager’s actions.. she seemed okay, but if the people around me saw it, I think it is important to mention. She gave me a refund for my cover, so that was nice! The bouncers were really nice, though! Joe and Dave were awesome and very kind after the manager kicked us out. They gave us some recommendations for some other bars that have ID scanners and can actually verify REAL ID’s! Anyways, if you’re from another state, maybe avoid this place. I am sure that their local experience is nice, though.

Doorguy was cool. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. It was a very laid back vibe. primary people ages 25-35. Karaoke line had like 20 people wait.. but they'd play full non karaoke songs in between singers.. like..whyyy...lol. didn't eat there but .I gave the "food" 2 stars because the only vodka they had was titos and cathead. They had run out of Grey goose and didn't carry ketel one. And they didn't carry Heineken or corona. The place has potential..cute idea.. but we bailed bc the alcohol selection and bc the pool tables and and other forms to pass time we're always occupied. This was on a Thursday.

My hands down favorite dive! If ya haven't been to Moms, you should visit! Service is great, atmosphere is relaxed and retro. Imagine a typical suburban basement with a bar & that's Mom's! Walls filled with pics of ... Moms! What Else?! Ha! It's very nostalgic for kids of the 70s & 80s or fans thereof.

Marty's was an absolute hidden gem. Late night eats and adult beverages until 6am!!?? With a membership that makes you feel uber important (its 5 bucks) Who woulda think it?!?! Not me!! We ordered Beyond burger pattie melt and Potatoes soup (the soup is HOMEMADE!!) OMGOODNESS!! it was grilled cheese and potatoes in a soup with toasted texas toast ! So delicious!! The burger juicy flavorful grilled with cheese then grilled and toasted to a crunch that you can hear!! Sorry we ate the patty melt before we got pics the soup barely made it!! Shantay is an amazing joy!!

Guarantee the bartenders serving you will give you the least amount of service while having the attitude that they feel disgusted doing their job period. Their so called GM also poses as a bartender and allows their friends to parade around and treat the other fellow customers poorly. Don't go here unless you want to get unnecessarily harassed and then blamed for it by said “owners”.

Foods great. However I put a *double folded* $10 on the front table while getting my ID out to pay the cover. Door guy comes by and swipes it. Bar manager tells me it didn’t happen and hands me back a completely different $10 bill after I literally watched him go outside and get it from the door guy. Low lifes hangout here.

Little bar, a lot of business. Been a couple times and this last time was the busiest. They had karaoke, dancers, and plenty of people having a great time! Got a little worried when our patty melts weren't there after being quoted 45 min wait for them. It came out a bit over an hour, but still just as good!!!! Must try their food! 😋

I've always loved this place. Late night eats and drinks. They have great bands playing regularly. Really nice large patio thats completely covered, so no matter the weather you can hang out on the patio. Lots of security, so its a safe place to be as well. The patty melt is my favorite thing on the menu. Oh! And the soft pretzels as well. Add this place to your "must visit" list.

Good was good, I think the burgers have gotten smaller though. For $12 I kind of expected I nice size patty or at least some fries to go with it. But again it was a good burger. Make sure you bring your license for them to scan you in. You don't want to make that walk back to your car. Staff was friendly and answered all questions. Bathroom was clean. Fantastic cocktail bar! We had delicious drinks and food! The salt and vinegar chickpeas were fantastic! So was the Bahn Mi! We are visiting from out of town and the owner was so kind to tell us about the area and some entertaining stories about his life! He told us the history of the building as well! 10/10 recommend this place or cool vibes, unique cocktail, and delicious food!

A group of us 4 ladies had so much fun at Parkside on 5th. We met Tim, the owner and he was delightful. The food and drinks were yummy and the atmosphere was perfect. I will be back. And oh, did I mention the candles? I bought several candles from Tim and they all smell delicious. I am a candle hoarder and these are the BEST. Thanks Tim for the cocktails and conversation!

Absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is 10/10. There is a whole back part of parkside we didn’t even know existed. 100/10. The staff is phenomenal and the drinks are superb. We even met the owner who was very kind and welcoming. Everything is Halloween decorated and perfect. Well done! A wonderful bar!!!

Great vibes, easy to listen to bands next door, and toasttab makes ordering and paying quick and easy. Unfortunately the food was just not good. For $26, my portion was very small with tough, overcooked salmon. I was so hungry I had to eat more dinner at home. I would probably go back to hang out with friends and maybe have a drink but would hesitate to order food again.

Update 5/10/24: Things have changed quite a bit since my initial review. Parkside is very different and better in most ways. Better cocktails, better arrangement & seating on their excellent patio, better service, friendlier bartender.. The only thing not markedly better is the food. The old Hotbox was great too, until near the end. Very nice job, new owner. Good bartenders, good drinks, decent beer selection. Sometimes they have something special on tap too.

What I like about this bar the most, you are welcome to be yourself! If you feel like busting out your best moves, the dance floor is waiting for you! The bartenders and nice Carlos,Rasheed,&Sydney will definitely take care of your needs. Hookah and food in the back. Good Food, Nice Vibe, Great People!

Bartender was great and easy on the eyes. Restroom was nasty considering they just opened. Had an overall great time before the it got crowded.

You are disposable in this establishment. The customer service is well below average. They are not customer centric and once you swipe your card you no longer valuable. I’m usually not one to leave reviews, but I’m disgusted by the service received by the bartenders. Money/tip well wasted. If you are willing to take a few more steps, I recommend trying The Saferoom.

Atmosphere was great, drinks were great, hookah was lacking. I didn't open it up to look, but it was either improperly prepared or was a little old and dried out. The smoke produced was half (or less) as much as I am used to.

Celebrated a family members Bday here over the weekend and we had a GREAT time!! It was her first time at The Vault and she loved it! The atmosphere was good and everyone was having a good time when we got there so we knew the night would be fun! The service from the bartenders and hookah ladies was amazing! Drink and hookah prices were affordable which is a plus. The DJ was great also! He had everyone up dancing the entire night. Will definitely be going back soon!

Had a great time time dancing until I attempted to close my tab. The girl at the bar informed me that my tab had already been closed. They took and kept my card when I arrived and gave it to a person whose name didn't resemble mine in the least. When I insisted that I didn't have my card, the girl said I looked like I was on drugs. So... regrettably I don't recommend this place as much as I would like.

Terrible business! I was out there for the police fire games and they over charged my card $500. I never opened a tab so the bartender must have left herself an unauthorized tip; very unethical. They are impossible to get a hold of on the phone so if you go keep ALL receipts

The security guard at the door charged us full price to get in. $20 a piece just for them to close in less than 30 min. From 5pm to about 8pm this place is fun. Great bar tenders and the people are all working class. After about 9pm, this place becomes a nightmare. It takes a minimum of 10 mins to get a drink, and you have to force your way through the crowd to get to the bathroom. If you are over 25 and sane, do NOT go here after 10pm.

Our favorite new bar in Bham. Fantastic views of the city. Great atmosphere, service was about what you would expect for a crowded bar on a Saturday evening/night. Not terrible, but had to wait a few minutes for drinks, but again, should be expected for a crowded bar.

The atmosphere and view are amazing!! Great for pictures or a great vibe to chill and talk. They do not sell food and the drinks are horrible as are the waitresses, bad attitudes everytime we have went.

I hate when a bartender closes a bar before stated times. Walk up at 10:50 when the bar is listed to be open till 11pm. "I already did last call. We close at 1030," and this was after she had to look at her clock to see what time it was. Just a heads up to the owners, kinda wild you have employees who close your business before you want them to. Big part of the reason we wanted to stay here was the rooftop bar, but can we even use it? Will they close it tomorrow at 10pm? 9pm? Who knows, because the bartenders do whatever they want.

I love this venue! The atmosphere is cozy and warm, and the views are really stunning!! I was visiting from Seattle and I came here with a friend, and was not disappointed at all. The staff was very friendly. There are heating devices above the seating outside, so it can still be comfortable even if it's cold outside. Very nice place to lounge, and take some of the best pictures that you can get of Birmingham!

Nice, not crazy, not loud, not trying to sell you high art, but a bar that references the inventors of the cocktails, that adds drawings to the menu, and that provides an ingredient list. The bartender was attentive and discussed the served cocktails while carefully listening to my explanations of what I like in cocktails. The second, off-menu cocktail hit my palate. I would love to see ABVs, carbohydrates, and calories next to the cocktail and I am still looking for the jazzy cocktail bar with comfy leather chairs.

Friends invited me to the bar recently. I'd not heard of it and so it was all completely new to me. The interior of this place had good styling, colors, etc. The place wasn't extremely crowded but there were several patrons when I visited. The result is it felt relaxed but also very social. The drinks had fun themes and names... And there was an extensive menu of them. I think the cocktails average around $13

Man i had one of the best times of my life there watching Mud make all those drinks was like watching an art show everything he put out was so beautiful! I want to be like him when i grow up! I love that this bar uses different kinds of bitters, real egg yoke, fresh juices, and all the different ice! All the cocktails he made me and my girlfriend were superb!!! The atmosphere from the decor to the music is great all the staff were super friendly and very professional! Its like every employee spoke to us very kindly and made sure were we okay without being too pushy. The door guy the waitors and other bartenders i feel like made us feel like they cared about our experience and made it so much better! This is by far the best bar I've been to ever! And i been to bars in new Orleans to vegas atl and Pittsburgh! I wish i could give this bar 10 stars and 5 thumbs up!!!

The cocktails we had were amazing! The service was on point and the place is sparkling clean. We had the Queen’s park swizzle and the painkiller. Highly recommend these two but I’m sure all their drinks are great.

I am in love with this cocktail bar! Queen’s Park is probably my favorite spot to go for incredibly creative, beautifully made & beyond delicious specialty & tiki cocktails. I love the story behind this bar, too. If you don’t know their story, you need to read about it on their website. So sweet! When you walk in, the cool vibe and overall ambiance melts the day’s stress and worry away. And bonus, it’s less than 15 minutes away from my office! If you haven’t been by yet, go! You won’t regret it!

Keep coming back for the Christmas Bar. Amazing atmosphere, good snacks, amazing Christmas themed drinks. Will definitely go back for a third straight year. Bartenders are friendly and awesome.

Miracle on 24th is BACK! Experience the christmas bar through December 30th. The drinks are fun, the atmosphere is everything you want for Christmas and the mugs! Your drinks come in these very cute mugs that are available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds go to charity! Queen's Park isn't a large space, so be prepared to wait in line. My advice is to go early around 4 pm so you get there before the big crowds start.

Security is awesome! Had a mishap with my car and they were more than willing to help and sort it out before getting the towing companies or police involved. Owe these guys a lot!

LOVE LOVE LOVED this bar. We visited from out of town, and it reminded us of our local gay club before it got gentrified. If you are looking for good drinks, good prices, great music, and fantastic drag performers, this is the place. Can't wait to come back!

The reason for the journey to the venue. A staple of the community and a staple in this club for a decade. You must see her shine.

It wasn't what it once was but will always be THE gay establishment of Birmingham. It was a first for this city. Times have changed, the customers have changed, employees have changed, the music has changed, the performers have changed and that's ok. When there was no where else to go as a gay person these doors were open. Then it was the place to be for straight and gay people who spread the love. When our dear friend and owner Robert Clark passed away it became a turning point. George and David have kept the heartbeat going and this place, no matter your good or bad experiences, will be remembered for lifetimes. These walls have seen great times and hope it never closes it doors. If they only could talk. Wow. New chapters of The Quest will be written forever if they do. Everyone has always been welcome. Enjoy it as long as it's here and be grateful this was a beginning of a beautiful thing, the LGBTQ community Birmingham has to this day. RIP RCC!

Inexpensive beer and fast service. This is a place my friend Billy loves. It's not my type of atmosphere nor is it a place I'd go unless he wanted too. I always have fun when I'm there with him. Oh, the employees are really friendly too.

“The Quest Club” Birmingham, Alabama Ratchet Level: High Price: $7 (No Membership, +21, Cash Only) Music: Pop, Hip-Hop This is stop one on my summer road trip for club reviews. This review was done on a Friday night in June. After 7 hours on the road I checked into my hotel around 10pm. The plan was to sleep until around 1130 and arrive o the club around 12-1230 which are typically the peak outs of any club. I overslept, but it’s okay because apparently this club is 24 HOURS! I arrive around 3am and the party is still going very strong. On the outside it looks small, but it’s a nice sized establishment with their own parking lot. The cashier is outside in a booth attached to the club. I’m not sure what her problem was but she was extremely rude. I mention I was from out of town visiting. She asked if I had a membership because that determines the price and it’s cash only. I did not have a membership, but she didn’t offer anything for me to sign up. Instead she was rude, over it, and unwelcoming. Dealing with drunk people all night can be draining, but when you’re at a gay club this is the only outlet and sense of family for MANY people. She held my ID while I went inside to the ATM which was not working. When I informed her she gave me even more of an attitude. At that point I wanted to leave. But the security stepped in to help. He was an older white male gentleman in a security shirt. He was extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful. Even he could not get the machine to work. His solution was to open a tab and just receive cash from the bartender which worked. The first room I didn’t stay in. It had a bar with a popular bartender who was very social and nice as long as a pool table. The inside is a bit dated. Looks like wood with everything painted black. Nothing luxury or modern. I went to the back room where everyone was. They were having a kiki ball. It was very entertaining because I was unaware Alabama had a ballroom scene for voguing. This room had a bar, small dance floor, dirty restrooms, and seating. The crowd had the place hype. They were doing all the line dances and tiktok dances after the ball moment was over. Outback their was an area that appeared to have a foam party earlier or there were bubbles everywhere for cleaning. People were going there to cool off. Tonight was more about people watching. The crowd was extremely diverse in terms of race, gender, and sexual orientation. A few girls served looks but overall everyone was chill. The drink from the dance room wasn’t good. Overall I don’t see myself returning. The front experience wasn’t a good one. If anything I could pop in at a different time just to test the experience. Really enjoyed my time here!! The atmosphere is great, music is good and can cater to anyone’s taste, all in all really great. Only thing is I wish the drinks were stronger, but other than that it’s a fun and wild night out! Very accepting and open. I’ll be back.!

After leaving the Queen’s Park the natural progression brought us here. This place is owned by the same people but the atmosphere and drink menu is different. This place according to the group we were with has karaoke on Thursday night. The drinks were more of what I was used to but again the specialty drinks are delicious. The staff was working hard to take care of everyone. At this place you order at the bar and take it to your seat. The place was lively, and we all had a great time.

My friends and I were out celebrating a recent engagement. We were about 20 deep, mixed group, white, black, Asian. They profiled my friend because the door man said “we don’t need anymore of them inside”. We round up and left. This was Saturday 5/3

This place has a great dance floor and just as amazing shots. The PB&J shot is delicious and feels like a sip of nostalgia. Service is great and the bar tenders are quick.

I used to love this place. Then I went with my autistic daughter who is in the spectrum on a Tuesday. She is supper smart, honor student and military dependent. It was her first time there. It was empty. The DJ was great to her, he actually walked up to her, and asked her questions about what songs she wanted. My daughter is honest, and on her third song she called someone stupid, and it was because…the person was negative, she didn’t sing the song to this persons liking, and they were looking at her..like, you can’t sing! This young woman, a bartender, walked up to me and asked me if that was my daughter, “She can’t do that, she will be kicked out for that”, she stated. Not only have I been there on a Thursday, where drunk people walk and stumble into you in the bathroom line, the pee all over the bathroom floors, people scream at the TV because their game is winning….none of these people are told, “you can’t do that”. But I am told this, on a Tuesday, when there is literally only about 10 people in there. I have Stage IV Breast/Bone Cancer, I was just told that I have 2 years to live by Brookwood Hospital, now I am in O’Neil at UAB, and my 21 year old is HAPPY, singing a song, and someone looks at her weirdly, Because she can’t sing good enough for them? My daughter calls them out, and you get pissy? GET OVER YOUR HIGH HORSE. Don’t come to me about something SO MINIMAL. And to think that I made my daughter walk to this bartender to…..APOLOGIZE. My daughter is the girl who was pushing me in a wheel chair a few months ago when I could not walk because of my cancer lesions on my right leg. She HAS MORE HEART than YOU will EVER KNOW. She was born in Oahu, Hawaii, her father is a Retired K-9 Dog Handler who fought for his life in Iraq. No one was bothered….but this little entitled little girl whining like it was the end of the damn world. Are you kidding me? I even apologized to this bartender myself. Why? Because we are a GOOD FAMILY. I told my daughter, “I am so proud of you, you sang, 3 songs, and it was your first time there, and I can’t even muster to sing one song, you are a warrior, and brave young girl. To hell with anyone who doesn’t like how you sing a song. Karaoke is for EVERYONE, not only…for those who can, “sing like a star”. How dare YOU judge ANYONE, or give someone who is up there, being brave, a dirty look. You get what you get, and you don’t have a fit. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. I have seen people doing worse, and I keep my mouth shut. What a meddling little child. Get a damn life. Let others live. Unless they are killing someone! Or in a physical fight! Let them BE.

Colorful and lively place to add to your rotation for a night out! Not sure if we were there too early (10:30/11:00 Friday night) but the music didn’t really feel like dancing music. Wished the crowd could channel the disco ball energy lol, there’s a small stage with light up tiles perfect for dancing but nobody went for it. At least worth checking out.

If you haven't been to Tucana in Birmingham, you're missing something very special. We had dinner at a Cuban restaurant, then went to Tucana afterwards. From the minute we walked in the door, we were made to feel like VIPs. The bartenders truly know their craft, and seem super happy to be there. If you need an intro to tiki cocktails, it's perfect. The menu changes, but always includes classic tiki recipes from the 30s and 40s (Zombie, Cobra Fang, Demerara Float), along with fresh and inventive takes on the genre. While it's not decorated in what I consider a "classic" Polynesian pop style, Tucana feels tropical and fun. It's just the right balance of old and new school tiki that's needed to bridge the age gap from our parents' generation to a fresh, young crowd. Pro tip: get the Chex mix. (You're welcome!) Additionally, the owner and self-described "Chief Concoction Officer," Nicky Tisdale, clearly loves her calling. What an incredible young woman! Her hospitality is second to none, and you can tell she's poured her heart and soul into Tucana. I am proud to support this woman-owned business and can't wait to return. MAHALO, Nicky. Well done!

We visited to try out this new, cute-looking bar, and we were pretty disappointed. Drinks were delicious (our whole group average rated the drinks 9/10!), vibe was great, but service was really lacking from our server Carly. The bar wasn’t busy, so I really struggle to find a reason why she was so dismissive and absent. It was frustrating as well as a party of 6 which adds automatic 25% gratuity, I felt like she didn’t try because she knew she didn’t have to. Side note: I felt like $9 for a very tiny serving of pork rinds “tropical chicharrones”.

Fantastic atmosphere and drinks. The staff is super friendly and they have a great knowledge about tiki drinks. The drinks are also beautifully presented. Make sure to get the fire and danger!

This place is a bunch of hits with a few misses. Came here the other night with a few friends and had a pretty decent time. The bar has two floors and is sort of a weird mixture of classy and tacky. Kinda reminded me of an upscale tiki bar in S. Korea if you've ever been to one. My friend commented that the disco balls were cheesy, but otherwise it was really swanky rattan furniture. The music was great as far as it being a Millennial paradise from the early 90s to early 00s, but it definitely was catering to a certain demographic only after about 9:30PM. Either way, it was fun to sing along. The drinks were expensive. I mean, not just for Bham, but just in general. $14 for the Army Navy cocktail (was too sweet) and it was this tiny cocktail glass with no decor to speak of save for a slice of rind in the bottom displacing more alcohol anyway. That aside, our friend ordered two "ammo bowls" as we call them in the military in the ROK. One was a flamingo with a bunch of ingredients (I remember green tea being one because I hate it but could barely taste it, the drink was so good). It was the equivalent of 6 drinks for $90. Then, he ordered one with monkeys and Runts bananas on top which was adorable and absolutely delicious. I was worried it would be nothing but banana aftertaste but it definitely wasn't. The drinks (save for the Army Navy one) were all top-notch, they're just too expensive. This is AL, not DC. You can't expect to charge DC prices when people are surrounded on all sides by.....well, Alabama. Aside from the great drinks and decent atmosphere, our server was rude. I don't mean like, we were mean to her or disrespectful to her and it warranted a response. I mean, from the moment we walked in and she sat us, she was rude (white brunette chick with lots of piercings, in case anyone's wondering). We were so friendly with her, despite her aloof attitude, tried to joke with her, apologized profusely after our friend accidentally knocked over a water glass, etc., and she never once smiled and never said goodbye back to us as we left and thanked her but, instead, turned her back to us as we walked past. She kept rushing us out of there or maybe to pay because our friend ordered us $200 worth of drinks. It was like people being followed by an employee at a department store. I wanted to say, "Sweetheart, he retired in his 30s. He's got the cash, TRUST." He even tipped her 20% on that tab despite her piss-poor attitude. She doesn't need to be in customer service, so y'all should reconsider her employment there. I don't think we'll make it a regular spot but maybe we'll try to come back when our super friendly waitress isn't on the clock.

Gorgeous tiki bar in a great location. We went right after they opened. The cocktails are amazing - and we tried quite a few to verify this! Our bartender was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed sitting at the bar to get drink recommendations and see what others were ordering. The only food offering was a spicy Chex mix, which may have changed since they've been open awhile now.

Had such a great experience at Tucana Tiki Bar! The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the drinks are fantastic, and the staff works hard to make sure everyone is taken care of, even on a packed Saturday night. My group was seated at the bar first and then moved to a table as soon as one opened up, and the transition was smooth and friendly. It’s clear they do their best to accommodate everyone fairly. If your party is seated somewhere undesirable (like the stools for instance) you are only there temporarily until other seating opens up! The staff will happily communicate this with you and try to make you as comfortable as possible until a group that arrived earlier leaves. A group of 3 got frustrated with this and left missing out on a night of wonderful tikki fun after waiting less than 10 minutes at the stools in front of my group. Can’t wait to come back for another round of cocktails and good vibes!

Tucana did not disappoint! I came here today about an hour after they opened for the day. After spending some time at Up Down a block away, I was in need of a tiki drink to end my day. The drinks are STRONG! Believe the rating at the bottom of each drink description. I enjoyed my drink and left happy. Nice atmosphere too!

Karaoke, cocktails, and all the right vibes! Had an absolute blast at Continental Drift! The energy was high, the drinks were strong (and cute 🍸), and the karaoke was the perfect mix of chaos and charm. I saw so many familiar faces—it felt like a mini reunion with a killer soundtrack. 💋✨ The staff was friendly, the space had that cozy-but-cool atmosphere, and the whole night just sparkled. Can’t wait to drift back soon!

We went here on a whim after going to a friend’s wedding shower at Pepper place and we were so glad that we decided to stay out! This bar is super cute and has a great vibe. The drink menu routinely rotates to be themed around a different part of the world. When we went, the theme was “Arabian Nights” and the drinks we had were amazing. We were tempted to get something to eat from their food truck, but after just having eaten at the shower we decided against it. We WILL be back to try drinks from the next menu and to try their food! Don’t skip out on this trendy and gay-friendly new bar!

Really fun 80's vibe with chill music selection and retro TV playing behind the bar. The cocktail selection is massive with a no and low proof section as well, and for those that don't find something they like on the menu, there are knowledgeable folks behind the bar. The seasonal menu series they do where they curate flavors from certain regions of the world is amazingly creative, concocting spectacular new flavor combinations for their cocktails. Highly recommended for the seasoned cocktail enthusiast and definitely recommended for the casual drinker as well. Cheers

The bar was pretty dead but staff were still very slow to greet our table and ask a drink order. I went to the bar to order myself and was told “Give me a minute. I’ll come to you in a minute” in a very disrespectful tone. Still took SEVERAL minutes for anyone to even hand us a menu. Will not be back.

Such a vibe!!!! Beautiful set- up, lighting, and seating!!! The owners are amazing, and the drinks are too. They have a food truck as well. Great place for a date night, girls night out, or a night out alone. Definitely check them out!

Love the atmosphere and the bartenders are talented with a passion and knowledge of their drink menu. The food truck was closed this visit but I had their Brussels Sprouts on a pervious visit and they were delicious!

Please take your money and your friends elsewhere, last night for new years 3 grown men (their security) went into the women’s bathroom (yes you read that correctly, the WOMENS bathroom) and burst in the stall to pull a woman off the toilet with her pants down. She was NOT drunk and was NOT belligerent at all (even if someone was, 3 men going into the women’s bathroom and pulling her off the toilet is very rude, nasty, and illegal). This is very very inappropriate and insensitive. We are currently speaking with a lawyer to seek legal action. Once again she was NOT drunk, cursing, yelling, etc. It caught all of us off guard. We go to Nana Funks every time we go out. We were even sad when they recently announced they were shutting down. So for them to do us like this is sad and embarrassing.

My office was stolen there. Very careful after hours.

Crazy but cool, Definitely where to go for the night life

I've visited quite a lot of places all over the US and the world, and this is going on my top 10 list. What an awesome place! Great selection of vintage and modern motorcycles, some race cars, unique and historic pieces. I loved the section with real bikes that were used to accomplish amazing travel feats. The design of the whole place is perfect too - lighting, placement, ease of navigating. I will definitely visit again when in the area. This is a must for anyone interested in motorcycles/cars and their history. Loved it!

Maybe the best curated museum we've ever been to. I love bikes and this place was golden. Just enough info about each bike to tell you its place in history without giving you too much to make it boring. They keep nearly every bike in running condition. They said 95% of all the bikes could be up and running in a few minutes. Their restoration shop is to notch. Having the race track outside is a huge entertaining bonus. Go see this place if you like motorcycles at all.

Unique museum for sure. More motorbike focused than cars, which is fine. But it's mostly just bikes on display with signage of its specs. Wished for a bit more historical/informational exhibits catered to non enthusiasts. Overall, highly recommended if you're interested in motor sports. If not, maybe still worth a visit for $22. The track was cool, saw a few cars doing laps. Casuals can still spend a good 90 minutes here and enthusiasts can probably spend a whole afternoon.

We were on a trip from Nashville to New Orleans and we saw this museum right on our way. We said we must see what’s goin on in there. Turns out A LOT is going on. Personally I was not very interested in close-history or current motorcycles but vintage ones were wonderful. All those bikes, army vehicles and everything else. One word: wonderful.

Wow! We went on Halloween, it wasn’t busy at all. Absolutely incredible and beautiful museum. So many motorcycles! The race track was gorgeous. It’s immaculate and just breathtaking. The museum is huge, I wish we had a whole day available to take more time there. No expense was spared on all of this, it’s fancy. It’s so unique, informative, interesting…definitely a must see for anyone who appreciates vehicles.

This is a must see!! Plan your trip and expect to spend hours inside this 4 story automotive museum. There are motorcycles and cars in every corner from all throughout the automotive history. I recommend starting at the 4th floor and working your way down. There is a lot to see and take in. I have never seen a collection of vehicles like this before. Tickets are about $20 a person and the gift store has some really cool swag. If you are in the area, this is a must see for anyone's lifetime!

Me and my husband stopped on a Saturday afternoon on the way to downtown Birmingham for the weekend. Really enjoyed it here, even if this isn't your thing, I think its worth the trip. Cool stuff to see and learn about the evolution of bikes and cars. Had a good time! Husband enjoyed it!

Worth the money! Brought back memories of what i learned in grade school. Also a somber reminder of the things people went through to where we are today. I am very appreciative of the new knowledge gained. I think it’s important for Americans to know this history because it’s American history. Progress and Growth. Cheap street parking out front! Also across the street from the church Martin Luther King preached!

I took a day trip to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute in Alabama, and it was truly a moving and educational experience. While the merchandise selection is limited, it includes a few books and souvenirs that reflect the museum’s themes. If you’re in Birmingham, this is absolutely a must-visit. It’s an important stop not only for personal reflection but also for educating the next generation about the sacrifices made for the rights many of us now take for granted. The experience is both humbling and inspiring—definitely one to put on your list.

Wonderful and informative museum! We’re from Kentucky, so it was great to learn more about the history and formation of Birmingham, especially leading up to the Civil Rights Movement. The exhibits were very well put together — powerful, moving, and at times heartbreaking. If you’re in the area, this is definitely a must-visit!

This was my first visit to the museum in 8 years and much of the exhibits remained unchanged. I was disappointed in the movie compared to the last visit when it was in the auditorium. The new movie was shorter, language was more appropriate and not as comprehensive. The staff was friendly and helpful and answered my questions and definitely worth the admission price. There's so much to see in this museum and thoroughly enjoyed the contributions of AG Gaston and how much he loved Birmingham and his success as an entrepreneur. I look forward to my next visit to this museum and hopefully, the auditorium will be completed.

One of the best Civil Rights museums in the region. Very impressive. Well laid out with riveting exhibits. The Legacy Museum, Rosa Parks and Freedom Rides museum were also exceptional.

Coming from out of state we were a little disappointed that it hasn't been kept up. The hiking was fun and the historical sites are decent when the signs are provided to explain what they are. I did read the zipline was closed prior to visiting but was not expecting it to be falling apart and with no hopes to reopen.

Loved the sensory trail and how inclusive it is (was a scout's project). Visited one of the mine shafts and it was such a nice cool breeze after having walked for awhile. There was some reading on the history, too.

Our furbabies loved it and we did too! Clean and peaceful. Several groups were hiking. We'll hike next time.

Beautiful, will kept trails! All 3 of my kids under 9 enjoyed it. There were lots of maps and trail markers to find your way. Many picnic spots. One of the park employees told us the adventure stuff had to close during covid and fell into disrepair. Even though there were many cars it didn't feel crowded. It was a perfect nature getaway. We'll be back for sure!

What a beautiful area lots of people there, but you still seem to be lost in the woods by yourself.

Red Mountain Park in Birmingham, Alabama, is a sprawling urban oasis that beautifully blends outdoor adventure with natural beauty. Spanning over 1,500 acres, the park offers a diverse range of activities for visitors of all ages and skill levels. Hiking and mountain biking trails wind through scenic landscapes, from dense forests to panoramic overlooks, providing both challenging terrain and leisurely strolls. The park’s well-maintained trails are clearly marked, making navigation easy while encouraging exploration.

The perfect alternative to Oak Mountain State Park in case you can't go to that one due to paying for a ticket but that's no big deal, this is the best option. Scenery/Atmosphere: My god is it so gorgeous, the view of Birmingham never gets old, the park usually is pretty old due to the railroad history it used to have and that makes it interesting for people to learn, there are structures too but you probably shouldn't stand or go near it for obvious reasons. Accessibility: They have multiple trails, hiking, mountain biking, even a dog park, the park opens early and closes near evening but I'm sure they increase the time near Spring or something because it's still so cold this time of the year. I really don't know why I haven't been here and reviewed it yet, but here yah go!! 😎

This is an incredible place for beginning young hikers and old alike. The rocky landscape and waterfalls make it exciting, refreshing and a great place to immerse herself in nature. It’s very convenient to get to as it is just off the interstate, but it feels like you’re far from everything. There are many hiking trails and you don’t have to worry about getting dangerously lost, because you’re surrounded by roads on all sides within a few miles. Bring the kids, bring the camera, bring water and snacks, wear good shoes. You’ll have an amazing time.!

Loved this trail! Did the 6 mile loop which took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Kids would love this for climbing the rocks. Great low impact walk. Parking was plenty—on dirt and gravel. There were porta potties available.

This one of the most unique walking trails. There's no other place like it. Take your children there. They will love it.

This is a great way to spend the day with your family. Some of the trails are fairly simple. However, there are also some trails that are much more challenging and require quite a bit of climbing and endurance. I would not recommend this area for anyone with physical disabilities or children who require a stroller. My personal recommendation is to go hit the trails for a mid-morning hike, then finish in the afternoon with lunch at Vecchia pizza, right next to the Preserve Parkway trailhead parking lot!

This is a great place for a simple hike. My kids love the creek and I enjoy the diverse plant life. It also helps that there's a great pizza place across the street for when we're done with our walk and hungry.
