Food and service was great. The atmosphere is nice, but a bit noisy due to the openness of the restaurant. The only negative I have about the food is the small portion size. And you need to order salsa as none is brought to the table automatically as in many restaurants with Mexican inspired cuisine. The bar is inviting and they also have daily specials that sound delicious.

The short ribs were very tender and very nicely seasoned. The potato taquitos were really good. The "El Barrio" margarita was excellent! The bartenders were nice and answered all our questions, as we were first timers. Our server kept a smile on his face and was super nice. Can't wait to go back!

Very lovely place with good prices. People were eating there midday on a weekday, which is always a good sign to me. Pepeto soup was light, delicious, unique, and filling. Plantain chips were a little oily tasting but still good.

Absolutely Excellent! I don’t do reviews often, and I’ve never done a review while still at the restaurant. This place is that good. This isn’t a Mexican restaurant — this is Mexican Cuisine. 5 stars. The only negative is that I’m traveling for work and my wife isn’t here with be to enjoy the experience. I’m in town for the next three days, I may eat here every night.

To start, parking is very hard to find (unless you pay) but location is great. Went on a Friday night, took us right in. However we were not expecting to share a table. It was a bit noisy and crowded in there, felt claustrophobic. Staff was nice, decent price for food, clean environment. Food was just okay. We both agreed it’s nothing special but we did enjoy our time. (We had cheese dip, beer, bacon quesadilla, and steak tacos)

Here for the best brunch burrito in the city! It's big, it's delicious, and I could only finish half in one sitting. Try it and stay for the Paloma!

Hip Mexican spot downtown with big flavors and zero pretense. The tacos al pastor hit perfectly — smoky, citrusy, and loaded. Interior’s colorful and packed with energy, staff’s sharp but chill. Feels like a Friday night every day of the week.

This is easily one of the best taco trucks in the Birmingham Metro area. They're quick to get the food done and I have yet to have food that wasn't really really good. They have a little bucket of spicy pickled peppers and carrots that you're able to get with your food and man are the carrots and peppers just fantastic. The green hot sauce you get is one of the best I've had and isn't overly spicy and the orange one is tasty but has some serious heat. The only thing that is kind of inconvenient is that it is cash only, so just keep this in mind if your considering checking it out.

FAVORITE TACOS I HAVE EVER EATEN, I HAVE A SERIOUS REQUEST. The pickled carrots, onions and jalapeño you all serve. I cannot find those anywhere else!! Are there restaurants that offer these also. Everywhere I've been and asked about these, no one has them and some acts like they don't understand what I'm wanting?

TOTALLY SHOCKED. Living in Texas I have grown accustomed to amazing street tacos and to disappointment when testing tacos across the south. Not here! I would drive an hour out of my way for the Ceviche. It is fresh and very tasty on a crisp shell. All three tacos were excellent. There are better tacos but not by much and to find them here on the street in Birmingham, well that is a major bonus. I'll be back.

I stopped here on a whim, and I'm glad I did. Good tacos served on corn tortillas. The prices are reasonable. There are lots of meat options and super fast service with a smile. Going back to try burrito and quesadilla. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it was cash only.

Classic Original "taco truck" tacos. Tasty meat and warm tortillas. Fast service and good food are the 2 most important things a taco truck must have, and they have it. 2 dollars per taco (taxes are included). CASH ONLY, so be prepared.

It was an alright restaurant. We got the nachos with chicken, the Fuego burger, and the mushroom Swiss burger. The chicken on the nachos was dry and the taste was ok. We also got the strawberry mango margarita. It was very sweet. I would potentially recommend it but I just feel the food wasn't great but alright.

I was in town for a family event and my son recommended this spot for brunch. The brunch is something they only offer on the weekends, from what I was told. We had a party of ten and sat outside on the patio. This is not an upscale or classy location that you’d expect in the gorgeous Birmingham area it’s located in. But I really loved the vibe! I can imagine what a cool spot it must be at night time with the spirits flowing and the atmosphere. The brunch menu didn’t offer an awful lot of options but we all got something we really enjoyed. I had the brunch sandwich, which my son recommended. It has jalapeño bacon and avocado. Need I say more?! It was so yummy! What I was impressed with was how incredibly fast our food arrived! We had no sooner ordered our food, paid for it, grabbed our drinks and sat down on the patio before the food arrived! All the servers were hardworking and pleasant. I hope to come back to this location and try some more of their dishes!

Love Rojo . A place that has been around for years yet hasn’t lost its charm. Food is always fresh, huge salads! Huge burgers! Great servers. The vibe is very laid back , walking your dog in the park and want to stop for a bite? Cool. You can sit outside on patio front and do so. It’s a great location, shaded by trees to just take in the great views of the area. If you’re not sure what you want, don’t want to get dressed up, want a casual date or place to have a few drinks on a lazy afternoon it’s perfect!

Rojo has great food and an exciting but comfortable armorer I order the fried fish tacos and they were delicious the fish wasn’t oily or over cooked and seasoned perfectly paired with the white salsa I could’ve ate 2 or 3 more. The serving size was appropriate for the cost and the quality. Good bar service very friendly bar tender who did a great job managing all the people. It can be bit noisy with all the people but we sat out side and it didn’t feel overwhelming. There was a slight mix up with our dessert order but they quickly fixed it and it was delicious. I enjoyed Rojo very much and will be dining there again.

I love coming here! Katie is an awesome bartender. Very good Latin and American food. The queso and Chips appetizer was "ok". But....The fried fish tacos are awesome! The tinga nachos were good too! They also have a strawberry bsalmic margarita that I had to have three of! Cool laid back vibes and good food. Nice date spot on a Friday night. Update: we’re back! Katie is awesome!!!! We sat at the bar again. Same order added tater tot Cho’s appetizer (very very good).

We routinely order out from here and every now and then go sit and eat at Rojo and we love it every time!! The patio area is wonderful and the food is always tasty. We love grabbing a bite and eating it in highland park! Our go-to tends to be the taco wings, the tat-chos, and every now and then we will get a burger. The most recent time we ordered out through doordash, they did little drawings on our to-go boxes!! It’s the little things that fuel my dopamine rushes 😂❤️ love you too Rojo!

$63 for just 3 of us. I had 2 really good Shrimp tacos. My wife had a large but forgettable Steak & Chorizo burrito and the third entree was 3 disappointing chicken tacos. Also had a small cup of queso. Nothing fancy there either.

Did the Chicken Quesadilla combo with Chips and a drink cost 15 dollars. The chicken didn't have much of a taste(tastes like Moe"s) the chips was tasteless and the sauce was watered down. The service was ok.the amount of chicken was reasonable, but felt a little greedy with the Didn't feel like 15 dollars was reasonable maybe 11 but not 15.

Although, I did not dine in- the Power Burrito that I had delivered was SO good! It was made to order; fresh, with finely chopped veggies, and the toppings were every bit of delicious! I look forward to eating here again.

Had the chicken and steak burrito and it was massive! Almost as big as my forearm. Everything was flavorful and the hibiscus tea was delicious. Waited about 10 minutes for my food to be ready, but that means they make everything fresh. The fresh salsa was my second favorite part. Highly recommend if you want some good Mexican food.

I always order a carnitas burrito with black beans and no sour cream. I think it's just incredible that they have never once accidentally given me sour cream. I go here once a week with coworkers. The food is fantastic.

I'm so happy to have found this place. They take such good care of us and make amazing food! After living abroad for so long and not having access to Mexican food for years, this place makes me fat and happy and am glad to visit them every day I'm here. ❤️

Great coffee! Seriously. This is the best Mexican style coffee I've ever had. I am not usually a fan, but their coffee was delicious. Also, this is the top spot for Mexican style breakfast. There are a lot of great Mexican restaurants in Birmingham and this one of the best.

Food was amazing!! The wait was non-existent. I was greeted with a smile and Alexandra made sure my order was correct and even asked “How I enjoyed my meal?” I received a lot of food for the value. I look forward to returning.

Let’s be clear: this was a Pizza Hut, and now it’s La Tia Paisa. Don’t come expecting the decor of El Royale, or even a Chili’s. But the tacos may be better than either of those, especially on a Tuesday, when they slap a wristband on you and you can eat every taco you can hunt and kill. They’re also working on delivery—forget DoorDash, this is comida ràpida. And there’s a drive-thru. I haven’t been this excited since they introduced the personal pan pizza.

Just happened across this place looking for another. I was getting ready to head to Tennessee and saw that they have a drive thru. Beautiful spot. Amazing service. Incredible tacos. I had steak and shrimp. Horchata. And flan for dessert. Will definitely be back.

Best Mexican Food in Birmingham. Period. Red salsa was spot on also. It’s authentically southern California style Mexican food and once you have that, you won’t want any other Mexican! We ordered the bean and cheese burrito and rolled tacos with chicken. Wouldn’t change a thing! The owner Maria was so sweet and you could see her passion and love for providing delicious, and authentic California Mexican food to her customers. We will be back with our entire family!!

I love La Tia Paisa! I haven’t had a single bad thing on the menu. The quesabirria tacos are what sold me, but the tortas and burritos are the best in Birmingham. It’s hard to beat the value. The food is incredible, the service is lightning fast and every server extremely kind, and the all you can eat taco Tuesday is impossible to beat. Call and pick up your order, or their drive thru is impossibly fast.

EXTREMELY RECOMMEND you try this Mexican restaurant/Taco Shop. The most closest in dishes with the Taco Shops back in San Diego, CA. I absolutely LOVED the taco shops back at home, it was the majority of my meals throughout the week. And for being in the south and testing as many Mexican spots (including ones I have not rated), this is the closest with dishes and flavors to the ones back home.

Limited menu. The service is always friendly and the quick. Great place to grab some lunch. This is my second time here and to be honest don't think I would come back. It is overpriced Mexican food without the flavor. Very lack-luster. It is upscale Mexican food, but not worth the hype. I will say that the flour tortillas are very good and freshly made.

I really enjoyed lunch at this spot. The salsa was unique and the verde was really good. I had a couple of tacos and I most likely would ask for the slaw and sauce on the side next time just for how much they put on it. Cocktail was refreshing and overall good experience

Our company recently had a private event here and the food and service were amazing. They made everything very easy for our large group. The atmosphere was perfect for our group to be able to talk and catch up with each other since we had not been together in a while. They were accommodating for all of our needs. I am not posting pics due to privacy reasons, but the place is very nicely decorated. I cannot say enough about how fresh the food is. I watched as they made homemade corn and flour tortillas. The pricing was more obviously due to the fact that we paid for a buyout, but it was close to the same or less than other places I contacted. I highly recommend for a private party, or just for lunch or dinner.

Would recommend to anyone every night of the week. Environment is so nice and the staff are friendly. The food is impeccable, full of incredible flavors. I would recommend getting chips and salsa with a side of queso for an appetizer. The meat is so delicious. I would recommend to locals and those who are visiting!

We stopped by after a sweaty day at the zoo. This place did not disappoint!. We tried the a sandwich - outstanding! Chips and guacamole were top-notch. The ambience was fantastic, with a welcoming vibe and stylish decor that was comfy. The food and server was really bad. Cooks did the bare minimum with our food. Server got our drink orders and went back to kitchen area. We watched her talking to multiple staff members and just stood not doing anything. She don’t come back for almost 10-11 min to take our order. Outside was busy, but there was barely a new one inside the main restaurant .We ordered a chicken quesadilla and veggies quesadilla . She came back in less than 3 min with our food.. time wasn’t taken to spread the chicken or veggies out evenly on the quesadillas. I am extremely disappointed, and would never work in a place that served food like that.

absolutely love Little Donkey! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and just different enough to stand out from your usual Mexican spot. The brisket tacos are hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had, and the queso with brisket? Unreal. You can taste the care in every bite. The vibe is great too—laid-back but lively, with a fun patio and welcoming staff. Our server was friendly, checked in often, and made sure everything came out just right. Even when they’re busy, they handle it well and keep the good energy going. Highly recommend if you're looking for bold flavors, good drinks, and a place that just feels like a local favorite. This is a fantastic restaurant. The food comes out quickly and is delicious. Haven was our server and was excellent, she never let our drinks run past half so she brought us out second drinks and gave us to-go drinks. The chips are amazing as well, especially if you get the ranch dip. This is a classy mall and this restaurant fits right in. I highly recommend it.

It was NATIONAL MARGARITA WEEKEND and it was jam packed. Our wait was 1hr 45 mins. We were told our wait was 30 mins. We met some amazing people while waiting for our table. The food was amazing, served hot and fresh salsa. We had queso and creamy jalapeno dips with chips. For entrees Baja shrimp tacos, burrito as big as your face, and Challatus. We will be back , but not on National Margarita Weekend. Lol The manager on duty was gracious and amazing. He kept everything together.

My order was brought out about 15 minutes after the estimated time with no apology for my wait. The food was amazing however and worth the wait. Defiantly will eat here again when back in this area. I had the taquitos and chili con queso with chips. It was so so good!

Chuy's at The Summit has been one of my favorite restaurants for several years but for some reason, I've never given it a rating. You'll have to pardon my "half eaten" photos because I dug in the second the plate arrived. While waiting for my food, the chips, pico and jalapeno ranch dip was quickly devoured. Our server continually checked to be sure we had everything we needed. My wife enjoyed her taco salad with jalapeno ranch dressing and my choice of chicken flautas was perfect -- nice and crunchy, topped with bang-bang sauce. Next time, I'll skip the bang-bang and get the creamy jalapeno ranch. My recommendation is that you must give Chuy's a try. Parking can be a challenge during peak hours, so shoot for an early dinner.

This rating is based on the food only. My order was delivered via UberEats. I ordered the Fajita Texas Nachos. The Fajita Nachos were delicious and a very generous portion. Best Fajita Nachos I've had to date. So good, I thought about ordering them again the next day, but decided to try another place since I was only in the area for a short time.

Stopped in on my way home from church. It was my first time eating here. The service and food were great. Reminded me a lot of another favorite Mexican rest Iguana's.

It was a slow, Sunday night, so delivery was quick. Daniel, our server was excellent. Overall the food was fair. Nothing to rave about. The Taco Salad with the Fajitas Steak was... 4 out of 10. The cheese dip was rather bland... Not very spicy at all. It's been years... Like nearly 10 years since I've been to Don Pepe. It'll probably be another 10 before I go back. Just saying. 🤷

We waited 15 minutes at LaPaz in Mt Laurel without any service... must have been invisible! So we left and went to DonPepe, which we hadn't visited in ten years. It was excellent with fast service, great food, right proportions, and waiter personality. We will be back and ask for Daniel!

Holy 3lbs burrito! Mexican Restaurant makes me want to dance! Awesome food, huge portions and cool environment. Our service was on point and everything about the place was 5 stars in my experience. Came from out of town and stopped by, got the chicken fajitas and they were great and some guys ordered a burrito which was the biggest burrito I've ever seen literally. Check them out.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. What I love is the “warm “ fresh chips , w fresh salsa , Fresh guacamole and cheese dip . I always order carne asada . Or their grilled Tilapia . Frsh food . Great service at all time . Love it.

We have been here 3 times in the last month and have enjoyed the authentic food and atmosphere. The service has been excellent.

Today was my first visit to Leon La Taberna and won't be my last. I arrived and was quickly greeted and seated by the hostess at the door. All the employees wore masks, correctly. After being seated, my server arrived promptly and took my drink order, then another server brought chips and salsa and also inquired about what sort of drink I would like, very refreshing to have solid customer service. My drink arrived, a Patron margarita. It was perfectly made and wonderful to drink. For my entrè, I ordered a Tinga, or maybe its just Tinga. The chicken was well prepared and had a rich depth of flavor. It was smokey, spicy, tasty goodness. Someone loved that dish into existence, really. I was truly surprised by the layers of flavor I was experiencing in this dish. The Tinga was spicy, but not overwhelmingly spicy. It had a bite but it did not linger. I had a nice lunch and took note of happy hour times & prices. I shall return! Thanks!

Salsa fresh and made in house, yummy! Service was quick and friendly and food delicious. Bathrooms are clean. Definitely stop if in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered the nachos. I was not impressed. The tomatoes were not fresh, and a lot of ther ingredients in ther nachos just didn't taste fresh or good. I added steak, but it was just very bland nachos overall. The spinach wilted as well. For ther price, the quality and quality could be better. I will not order it again. Ther staff was very friendly.

It’s a place that’s been here for a very long time and sadly it’s run down. The food wasn’t that bad. I did enjoy my chimichanga and my mom enjoyed her soup. The rice and beans were bland and the tomato was one big fat chunk. But the worst part was that it’s not a great area and their AC IS OUT. We couldn’t enjoy our meals because we were drenched in sweat and don’t get me started about trying to go to the restroom. Super super tiny restroom with no AC it’s like a sauna and so cramped. I walked in and walked right back out. Server was nice tho! 🫠

This is an old restaurant, but the food is wonderful. Service was sub par (she sat and ate) as she never checked in with us. But the atmosphere is great and so is the food. The prices are also very good.

Great place for lunch or dinner! Large portions at lower than most Mexican restaurant prices! Been coming to the Montclair Road location for over twenty years now. The interior has recently (within the last year) been TOTALLY redecorated AND refurnished with an old Mexico high-end look and feel! My favorite dish in the menu is the Steak Fajita Quesadilla Dinner. The Chicken Chimichanga is pretty awesome too! The service is always GREAT and fast and the prices are very reasonable! I’ve never posted a bad review for the El Cazador on Montclair Road!

Solid Mexican restaurant. I visit here for lunch often. Quick service and a good meal at a fair price. I usually get the chicken breast plate, but today I got the burrito. They have fountain drinks as well as bottle and can drinks.

Arrived at around 6:30pm. Service was *slightly* slow, but to be expected with it being peak dinner time with so many people there. The food was great for a good price. Lots of vegetarian options. Everything was as expected from this type of restaurant. The seats were actually above average, being extremely comfortable.

I realized the service was great as soon as we stepped in the restaurant by being greeted and offered menus, we had our food within 5 minutes (on a weekday), and it was delicious! Everything tasted fresh and was warm. First time to a Taco Mama and would definitely go back! The entire place was clean as well. It was somewhat hard to find parking! You need to pay for a spot near the restaurant, but it's less than $5.

Taco were good. The wall said the guacamole was best in town. Took a bite and mouth drew up it was so salty (and I suffer from hyponatremia). Tried it w a chip (cold and unsalted), same reaction. Don't brag on food then sell something inedible due to salt.

The food was delicious. My family and I were visiting out of town due to baby being hospitalized. Moe’s put a bad taste in our mouth . But taco mama saved the day .. The restaurant is so clean , family oriented workers, food was fresh , and most of all the general manager was so attentive to our needs ! Thanks 🙏 for being so kind and serving tasty food .

I reached out to manager Lee to reserve a spot for my family who traveled from three different states to participate in the 15th annual Rumpshaker 5k race @regionsfield yesterday Immediately after the race we dined here... Super nice atmosphere that allowed us to fellowship as well as celebrate my mom's 16th Colon Cancer Free-Versary ! And not to mention the delicious food and portion sizes. The waiters & store manager Jeremy were very attentive. Jeremy did his very best to cater to my 90 year-old grandfather also, Although my mom already dines here three times per week, the rest of our family will be back to enjoy. I built my own burrito and LOVED it, good size and unlimited toppings, Mac and cheese wasn’t that great but the guacamole is. My boyfriend got street tacos with steak and wasn’t the biggest fan. Staff was very friendly and there was no wait for a table on a Friday night, food didn’t take long either. Super nice place, definitely going back for a burrito soon.

I ordered the chicken burrito with a side of street corn, and both were excellent! The burrito was packed with flavor, and you can load it up with as many toppings as you want at no extra cost. It’s so big that you could easily split it between two people. The street corn was delicious as well. Overall, this spot is definitely worth checking out, great food and great value for the price!

Taco Mama in Edgewood is a Birmingham must! The food was amazing, the ambiance was phenomenal, and the drinks were spot on. My frozen margarita was perfectly refreshing and the tacos were just as impressive. Can’t wait to come back!

It’s nice to walk in, have the menu and you get to order your food, and go to your table. So it’s a different method of placing an order. Food is good, large portions, slightly salty, yet still delicious. Clean location. The outdoors and indoors are open into each other with the large windows opened up. Beautiful location.

We do quite a bit of catering orders for various groups ranging from 5-30 people. We use multiple restraints based on the cuisine preference of that group and taco mama is a very popular request. My first experience with this location was yesterday as we put in an order for beef and chicken taco bar, a premium quesadilla tray, salsa, queso, and guacamole too. We also provided sweet tea and I sweat tea. There were plenty of toppings for the taco bar and they provided more than enough chips with the order too. Our clients were more than happy with the spread by the time we had everything picked up and delivered but I want to make a special shout out to the employees who help me load it into my car. Kyle, Melissa, and Aaron. They were extremely helpful and polite, the order also was perfectly on time ready. Will definitely be using this location for our future taco mama requests because they service was great and the food order was perfect !!!! Wish that 10/5 stars was a rating option.

Amazing TACOS PERIOD! This was my first Taco Mama experience. The food was delicious. My shrimp was plump and juicy. Food was delivered at our table fast and friendly. Portions were large and fresh! I will definitely be back!

The food was fresh and the service was good.. I ordered 3 chicken tacos $8 and some change (great price) but the chicken was pulled/shredded and not grilled like I expected… The meat itself had no flavor. Maybe I ordered wrong? I asked for 3 chicken tacos. Maybe I should have said grilled? The tortillas and other ingredients were all fresh. Overall not horrible but not what I wanted.

I ordered tacos for lunch and was absolutely disgusted with the quality of my meal. The tortillas were stale and looked old. The chicken was waaaaay overcooked and dry. Will never order from this place again. Wouldn’t give this to a stray dog

We had Los Valedores Taco Truck cater our Sherwin-Williams event for our Hispanic pros, and it was a huge hit! The chicken and steak burritos were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious—everyone gave us the thumbs up. William, the owner, provided outstanding customer service from start to finish. He made everything easy, delivered on time, and gave us a fantastic deal for the amount of food we received. We’ll definitely be coming back for more—highly recommend Los Valedores Taco Truck for any event or gathering!

Definitely some of the best tacos in the city! The meat is well seasoned, and the tacos are a decent size. I also love the red and green sauces. I am very excited to see their restaurant open!

We stopped by this taco truck on the way to Krause Springs. We ordered 2 chorizo and egg and 2 chilaquiles tacos. These are some of the best tacos we have ever had! The green salsa was amazing too! Definitely a must try!

Called in the order and they got it ready fairly quickly. We ordered the special soup and a burrito with ground beef and queso on top (I had no clue what I wanted so they created this burrito for me with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, and queso on top ). The burrito had good flavor the rice was a little bland on its own but combined with the burrito it was ok. The beans were good and a bit runnier than I prefer but the flavor was good. My colleague enjoyed her soup; said it was filling, hot, and delicious. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

I paid $27 plus $2 tip for 2 huaraches for lunch. I should have opened the order in the restaurant but I didn’t. Maybe I am cheap but the quality and what was given to me should have been at most $9. The tortilla was completely hard, I could not cut it with a knife. The lettuce was already wilted and the chicken I got was shredded. First time there and the last time I will go there. The employees were nice, that’s the good part.

We stopped for a quick bite on our way to PCB. It was a good little find. I got the tongue tacos and ground beef. The tongue taco was full of flavor, would order again. My husband got the chicken taco salad. It was very small but had great flavor. Service was good and very clean place.

I often go to this store for the variety of products that can be found here AND cheaper than other places. I usually go to the restaurant at the back of the store. The service is always great as well as the food. However, the cashiers at the front of the store are NOT FRIENDLY at all to those who they feel don't understand or speak Spanish based on how we look. I bought a box of Sazón Goya and the cashier didn't even acknowledge our (my fiance and I) existence. Some Americans do speak Spanish and understand so we shop at stores like this with no issue. No English acknowledgements either However, customer service needs to be improved to make ALL customers feel welcome.

They should change their sign to say they close at 8:45 and not 9. The doors are locked at 8:45, and you get turned away by store employees. Definitely deceptive to have your closing time as 9 online and on the sign at the store. The store employee said the 9 o’clock closing time on the sign is for people already in the store by 8:45. Would have appreciated knowing this before driving 20 minutes to come shop here

I love the food!!! The restaurant is the best part. The grocery store portion has unique items that you just can't find at other stores. They carry a great deal of international and cultural food which is amazing. I also like the pastry section and it is one of the few places that sale sugar cane which is delicious and remind me of my youth. If you are in the area during lunch time or even in general stop into the restaurant it is located in the back left corner. They also have a buffet.

Visited this place for the first time , very nice store, my granddaughter and daughter seems to like the pastries, myself ..the chicarromes are the best. I like the diversity that Birmingham has,just needs more places like this instead of having to go to other surrounding cities to get good items.

I love to shop at his place. Great Latino and American items. Outstanding fruits and vegetables and cafeteria. The first place I visit is the butcher shop. They have A variety of meats that you don’t find anywhere else , Picanha,pork belly, even chicken feet. I also bought some gigantic chicken wings. Walk around and check the place out you will be amazed. Update: this is some picanha’s I bought from there on the grill. these are several pictures of the porchetta I make from the Pork belly I bought from there .

I really enjoyed going to mi pueblo mainly for the homemade food and fruit... kids enjoy it too. Has a lot of house hold things. I almost forgot about the delicious Mexican homemade bread 🍞😋..

Pretty happy with a quick meal. Fast service and typically Mexican-American food. The cheese enchiladas were tasty, though the margaritas seemed too tart and too weak + the churros were still a bit raw in the middle. The meal was affordable — $28 (before tip) for 2 drinks, an entree, and dessert for one. Decent meal out overall!

We had a fantastic dinner here! The chips came out warm and extra crisp, served with both a green salsa and a red salsa, each full of flavor and just the right level of spice. The margarita was refreshing and perfectly balanced, with a chili-salt rim and fresh orange slice garnish. For our mains, we tried the Carne Asada street tacos and the Al Pastor street tacos — both were excellent, packed with flavor, and felt authentically prepared. To finish, the flan was smooth, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending. The outdoor seating was relaxed and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive without being rushed. Overall, everything from start to finish made for a really enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!

I tried the restaurant for the first time after hearing great things about their house made pork skins with queso. I ordered an 8 oz queso with the skins but got home and realized it was not 8 oz. I called restaurant and was met with attitude and hostility. The owner insisted she was right I was wrong even after I poured the container in a measuring cup to show it was barely 4 oz. She stated she was right because she’d been in business 35 years and if true she’s been cheating people for 35 years.

Great place. I had the Fajitas combo, it was a lot of food and very tasty. Order some more torillas and it ia definitely enough fir two peopl to share.

The menu was interesting and the dishes we ordered were fairly well executed. Unfortunately, the Sangria was made with something that gave it a strong coconut taste, which made it undrinkable to me. The grilled prawns on the fajita dish were plentiful, but very bland. The server mostly seemed in a hurry ( the restaurant was almost empty) and he seemed slightly annoyed at having to take our orders. Overall, I think there are better options in Birmingham, but I wouldn't refuse to eat there again.

This place is a sad description of a Mexican restaurant. Got there, staff don’t acknowledge me, white person walks in, they welcome him with a “Hello welcome in”. My white friend walks in as I’m seeing how those people are being seated first even tho I’m standing there waiting to be seated —first. But Next thing “host” or whatever she was do is tend to my white friend. Then she even asked if we were gonna sit together, to what we responded we are. As she acts like is she was surprised but no explanation or apology for making me wait or not welcoming me after clearly locking eyes with me. The food lacks LOTS of flavor. I got the birria “tacos”, and were just taste less. Truly. And they didn’t check on us not once. The mister waiter who apparently looked Latino/mexican was just rude, with a lack luster personality, he was stingy with his limes that the food NEEDED, and they don’t make micheladas which I thought it was just weird for a Mexican restaurant. But anyway. Just pick any other given Mexican site, this one is just not it. It even gave me homophobic, racist vibes.

El Zunzun is a really fun place to try in Birmingham. My dining partner and I enjoyed an array of dishes. The steak served over grilled cactus was quite good. We also enjoyed the mole trio. My only complaint is that the prices are rather high. I do recommend familiarizing yourself with the menu prior to dining, as it is a lot to take in.

A great Mexican restaurant and we have been to countless time. The food is always great, good portion sizes and reasonable prices for a slightly upscale Mexican restaurant. I think they found a good market between an inexpensive neighborhood restaurant and something like El Barrio. I highly recommended the enchiladas with the salads verde or any of their tacos. Their chicken is fantastic as well!

Food was super authentic and NOT a cheese blob like “typical American Mexican”. There was flavor and a choice of normal condiments like cilantro, pickled onions, onions, cucumber & sauces. They have beer and other “softer” drinks. Recommended, but not that fancy experience. Way cheaper than a flight to Mexico to get the local vibe.

This place was wonderful! The food was authentic, the service was fast, friendly, and genuine. One of the truly great hole-in-the wall finds of my lifetime. If you find yourself near Birmingham, especially in the northern region near Center Pounte, stop by for lunch or dinner (sadly they do not serve breakfast, but I'll net it would also be amazing). You will not regret it!

First time trying and everything was on point. Hot and fresh and authentic best tacos I've had in Birmingham and coming from Houston after living there 10 years I love tacos and not just on Tuesday but everyday and this place is great no gimmicks just good food and the people working there are very nice the owners son always has a smile on his face and friendly as is everyone else there. I will definitely be back again I've already been 2 times in 2 days and might be back tomorrow if time permits. Unfortunately these guys aren't on Doordash or Uber eats because the owner doesn't want to do it but he should at least give it a try because the food is good but everybody isn't able to get to the restaurant to come try the delicious food.

I found out about this place from a student of mine who would go here very frequently. I love good authentic Spanish food, so I was very eager to try this place out. I was not disappointed at all! These tacos are some of the best I have ever had, and I have had authentic food on my travels to Honduras. I always make a point to stop by and order at least two tacos when I am in the area. Be sure to stop by if you are in the area, and I promise you will not be disappointed.

The staff was very friendly and happy to talk with you. Tacos are my go-to when trying a new truck. I ordered campechano, pastor, and asada tacos. They were good, but could use a bit more flavor especially the pastor. However, they were packed.

I love the food here, the friendly staff, and the casual feel. Great place to meet up in BP with a group or get some quick take out. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t EXCELLENT! And I’ve tried just about everything on the menu.

I went here because a Mexican friend said they were authentic, and it did not disappoint! Food is great and the staff is very friendly. We had tacos de asada and a Torta pastor and it was probably the best tacos I had in Birmingham, they give generous portions of meat. It is a food truck and seats are limited, but I would eat standing if I had to.

Tried this food truck recently and was honestly disappointed. The prices are surprisingly high — even more than what I’d pay at a sit-down Mexican restaurant — but the quality just doesn’t match. The food was okay, but nothing special. For the cost, I expected bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and something memorable. Instead, it felt more like fast, average food at a premium price.

For my money, the best taco truck in Birmingham. Parked in the lot of the Shell gas station, and they now have a pavilion with picnic tables for those who might want to eat there! My favorites are the chorizo, pastor, and lengua tacos. Both red and green salsas are excellent, and the double tortilla on each taco is welcome to help contain the generous filling. For those who don't like cilantro, however, be prepared to pick it off; my requests for no cilantro seem to never make their way to the appropriate person. Don't mind a little extra work on my part, though, to enjoy this outstanding street food.

Just recently discovered this place, and it is some of the best tacos in Bham. It's basically a food truck at a gas station, but the food is really special. It's a pretty simple menu, pick your meat and pick what you want it on. The tacos are simple with onions and cilantro, and the green salsa is super spicy and a great compliment. Service is fresh and fast, and I've never had any issues. If you want simple but amazing Mexican food, this is the place to go.

This is my favorite truck to go to I’ll pass two other taco trucks by my house just to come to this one. The food is always delicious I love this truck. And they’re really fast and make it fresh to order every time. I eat here every week.

Tacos were sooo good. Got the breakfast #5 and it was AMAZING. Cooked to perfection. Coffee was eh (carmadillo latte) but it was the flavor...the barista was skilled and the espresso and milk texture were perfect). I also got a brisket taco and a few others, but the one with the avocado, egg and refried beans was definitely my favorite. Fast service and they flatten and cook the tortillas right in front of you. Their sauces (?) were also exceptional. I paid around $4-5 for one taco, and the latte was standard price. They serve June coffee and last call baking, and I can vouch for the Berry Danish...so so good. And June is always exceptional coffee. The meat was cooked perfectly.

I’m so disappointed!! I thought I finally found a place that I loved! But the past 3 times I have ordered my food there has been nothing but issues!! This time my food was so burnt! I’m not sure if they are getting lazy or just get annoyed with the orders!! But either way this will be my last time ordering from here! I don’t know why they would think it was ok to send out food that they wouldn’t even eat!!

We went here with a friend. It was such a lovely atmosphere, and the food was terrific. I ordered tacos #1 & #2. I got an iced latte that was great as well. I’d recommend that. I’d also recommend the chai latte hot. You can’t go wrong with this place!

#3 taco is my favorite. The tomatillo salsa is good, but the roja needs more spice/flavor. The taco styles are similar to Tacodeli in Texas. If you want to live like royalty, take your meal to go for a picnic at the botanical gardens nearby.

First visit, but not the last. Recommended to us by a family member, we decided to give it a try & couldn't be more pleased! First off, the decor is AMAZING!!! We haven't seen anything that even comes close in the Birmingham area. If you go, you definitely need to walk around to take a look, especially the mural on the back wall. We were having a late lunch, so there were no other diners there when we arrived. The hostess & waitress were extremely friendly. We decided on no appetizers so we could just enjoy the fresh chips & salsa. My husband chose the fajita chimachanga with chicken & I chose the fajita taco salad with shrimp. Our order was out super fast, and both dishes were impressive, beautifully presented and HUGE. Everything was absolutely delicious - hot & fresh. There is a pretty large dessert menu, but we were way too full. Next time, we'll share an entree & have dessert. Also, will definitely have margaritas next time. The drink menu & tequila brands on hand are very impressive. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Great margarita selection! The restaurant is beautifully decorated. There are a ton of food options which can be a little overwhelming but the food was very good! Our waitress was super nice and attentive. This place was great, I’d definitely return.

If i could put 0 stars. I got poisened from the tilapia fish tacos.. from that day i ate in the resturant until this moment i have bad dierrea, and bad breath! The food took too long to arrive (more than an hour and my meal took longer than the others) although it wasn't crowded! When my family asked the waiter about food she said we only have 2 working inside + this is not Mcdonald's fast food!!! She was so rude acting nice! Didn't do or ask for any refills... this will be my last time and i will file a case against them because of food poisening! Don't go there! I don't know how they have high rating!

Friday night at Pablo's was perfect. We had nicely crafted cocktails to start the evening. The staff and owners are always so very courteous and seek to make every visit a great experience. Steak fajita nachos were spot on and so very tasty. We were never rushed and always made to feel we could enjoy the experience at our own pace. Steve, Susan and Putu ensure a great visit every time. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

I've very disappointed with my lunch. My go-to dish is the Avocado Salad. I ordered one with chicken and one with shrimp. I've eaten here several times, and this is by far the worst. If I wanted a chicken or shrimp salad with avocado on the side, that's what I would have ordered. This salad looks thrown together and rushed. Thr salad usually comes with a whole avocado sliced with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, corn, and cheese. This place will go on my Hit or Miss List. Sometimes it's a Hit and sometimes it's a Miss. So, if you're hungry, I wouldn't recommend it. Go somewhere you know will be a hit.

There are not many places I chose to go, or to take people to when they visit from out of town. However this place incorporates a very high level of balance and courtesy to everyone that comes in. From the time you enter you can smell the fresh foods in the air, the customer service is top notch l, and the taste is so fresh I taste like you grew the food yourselves. I know im considered a local guide so I wanted to put my cert on the line by saying this is the best spainish/Mexican restaurant in the area. Ive even tried taco trucks locally and nothing brings this kind of caliber food and service in one. Good selection of brews, very helpful staff. Lots of tables! Cool place to hang out and talk or play some board games. Love that it is dog friendly. Downfall? People not controlling their dogs. One was off leash running all over. One barked constantly at everyone.

Tasting room is laid back and has a good vibe. Atmosphere is casual and local artwork adorns some walls. Beer is solid. Seating both inside and out. Servers are friendly and helpful. I would go back.

Stopped at this brewery on our way through town. We choose the brewery based on their different hop profiles and interesting beer options. The options did not disappoint. Very unique, but the sours and berliner weisse really shone. Staff was extremely friendly and chill. Indoor and outdoor seating is offered - we happened to be there on a trivia night, and there were a lot of people, so we had to sit outside. I would recommend bringing bug spray as we go pretty ate up by the mosquitos. Lots of to-go options as well and a food truck. Off street parking is in a unpaved, rough, unlevel lot, so take that into consideration if you have low mobility or are on a motorcycle.

This place has some really awesome beers, and I love their small batches they usually do. They also have a great food truck, and a fun little market on Saturdays. Parking here is odd and overall it’s a little bit of a quiet vibe, but worth the beer.

Post lunch visit Thursday 10/13. Really cool space with lots of outdoor tables and a very large indoor space. I asked the bartender(who was polite and helpful) about sour beers (my preference) and whether I could get a flight with them. Yes, to both questions. Natural Habitat, Holiday Now, Beach Please and Martin Denny were my choices. While enjoying those and attempting to determine a favorite, which I never did, I got to sample their new Bellini with Sauvignon Blanc which was quite delicious. I'm sure the place gets quite raucous at night and on the weekends, but I enjoyed my quiet time savoring some very delightful beers.

This is by far my favorite brewery around Birmingham. I live 20 minutes North of Atlanta and makes the drive several times a year to pick up Brewery only releases. The vibe at Trimtab is laid back and chill. Great outdoor area as well as large indoor space. Staff is always super friendly. Plenty of parking also. Me and some friends started a hashtag a couple of years ago and it’s kinda stuck.. #TrimtabTuesday 🍻

I love this spot. Consistent and delicious food. The wait staff is so awesome! I come quite often and they make you feel so welcome. I recommend honestly anything but my go to is the Esquites. It’s honestly the best “street corn” I’ve ever had locally! Drinks are 10/10

As we have a kid with us, we can’t get into a country show. We ended up here randomly and the food is pretty good. Large portion and good pricing. Food is delicious. There are so many Mexican food in the area and I think there should be more diversity. Mexican or southern food. I am a bit tired. Ambiance is party like. A good place to take friends and family. We got here during prime time and got a table for 8 easily. It’s not full place too. Great service and our food comes fast and correct.

My husband and I ate dinner here on a whim, and we cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant! The food was wonderful. The salsa had a good amount of spice. My husband got the steak, chicken, shrimp and rice - and I got street tacos (carnitas and chorizo). All of the food was delicious! We never ran out of chips and were very well cared for by our waitress. We enjoyed the margaritas too! I really like the nice touch of the swirled straw paper on the end of my margarita straw. It was a very nice detail. 10/10 would recommend!

Nice spot for drinks with chips and salsa so I thought 😩. But they were very quick to want to seat me towards the back side where the bathroom is to accommodate a white crowd that was meeting there for a wedding party. As big as that place is how will a party of one interfere with a party of over 15. This was my first time there and NEVER to return. No thanks 10/3/25 Friday

This restaurant was super good, we got the amigo plate with the beef, chicken, shrimp fajitas - super delicious and great portions. Service was great as well—strawberry margarita was super good and strong! No pics taken because we just went ham on the food lol

The combination fajitas were mouthwatering, as well as the rice and beans. The basic strawberry margarita was strong and delicious. Service was quick. Coming from Texas, I had low expectations but Los Amigos far exceeded them. 😋 It also had a decent noise level inside.

I would give this restaurant more stars if not for the service. I am the only person sitting at the bar and my drink has been empty for 20 minutes. I wish I was exaggerating. I would generally recommend anything beef. The shredded chicken has made myself and several of my friends sick the next day with poisoning like symptom. But the beef never fails. The service generally makes me feel like I’m somehow inconveniencing the servers.

At the suggestion of my sister we decided to eat here. Upon entering, the place was almost empty and it was early on a Friday night which should have been a clue that either the food or drinks were not good. The grilled chicken on the nachos had no seasoning on it which took away from the rest of the dish.

If you’re not enjoying authentic flavors here, what are you doing? Poblano relleno was tasty- steak added. The salsa was pleasantly spicy and leaned in on the cilantro. Service was friendly and the value unbeatable.

Place got packed in a span of being there for 15 minutes. The food was good. Salsa was super spicy. Queso wasn’t the best I’ve had but overall I finished my whole plate which I rarely do. I’ll come back to try the margaritas! I got the chicken and steak enchiladas. The chicken was better.

We were able to sit down quickly and enjoy some very good chips and salsa. The service was not great. Our waiter maybe came over to us a handful of times, and that was after we had to wave him down a couple of those. Food was decent, I had undercooked food and got sick later that evening along with 2 others in our party.

We stopped by for a late lunch and found the place empty. So we sat at the bar. The service was good and food delicious. We’ve been here many times over the years and have found they consistently do a good job in the kitchen. Weather permitting they have some tables outside that we have enjoyed in the past. One thing I find to be consistent is the further from TX you are the crappier barbecue and Mexican food get. Reviews are obviously from ppl that think Taco Bell is Mexican food. FAAFO if you must.

My husband wanted Mexican. I wanted something...wasn't sure so went on the limb and ordered a burger. This was THE BEST burger. It was cooked perfectly, topping were fresh, it was huge. I can't wait to go back. Only bad thing we were in a large room with other tables and it was LOUD. Not the restaurant fault. But if you issue with really loud places you may not want to sit in the front large room

This is now my favorite Mexican place. Every chair is extra padded, the inside is decorated top notch, they had TVs everywhere. This was a fun place, never said anything like it, it's not my favorite!!!!!

This restaurant is my #1 go to spot for Mexican food. The food is always fresh and well seasoned. My favorite margarita from this place is the Watermelon, on the rocks, sugar on the rim. Never been a fail. As far as entree I get the chicken chimichanga.

The drinks were goodt! (yes with the t) Haha The medium strawberry Margarita and mango Margarita will be all you need. I didn’t finish mine. The Fajita Nacho Supreme needed a little salt. They have street tacos, which were really good!! Overall, everyone enjoyed their respective dish.

Good food and great service! Although there were way too many beans in my burrito and not enough of the steak or any other of the ingredients. The margaritas had minimal tequila and way too much margarita mix. Other than these few things, everything was enjoyable. And also, this is one of the few local places that provide a guacamole that hasn't given me food poisoning due to improper storage or trying to stretch it past its expiration date so thank you for that!

Great little restaurant that serves Mexican cuisine as well as American fare. Our group had burgers,burritos, fish tocos, and cheese nachos. Everything was delicious. They offer indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

We went on a Sunday evening. The location has loads of quirky charm. Employees were courteous, the food service was quick. We sat on the outside side area …nice. The food was good. We had steak and chicken quesadillas, all tasty. I’d prefer more side options vs chips but overall very good. Highly recommended!

I was surprised how good the drinks and food especially adobe chicken tacos and refried beans. Their grapefruit jalapeno margarita and the coconut margarita were amazing! We’ll definitely be back.

We were looking forward to a nice lunch, but are very disappointed. Ambiance is nice, but the food didn’t meet the expectations. Asked for no cilantro due to food allergies, received our tacos without any sauces - so basically only shrimp in a tortilla. Meat seasoning was lame. The beans were made with cilantro, which they didn’t tell us and caused allergy issues. As we waited outside with our dog in the cold, we asked to get a sign when the takeout is done. Nobody showed up, so we got it ourselves from the bar, which was already cold. We will not come again.

The margs are absolutely delicious, the food even better, and the service is always top tier. I believe the owners also own Vecchia, which makes sense because our experience there is also always phenomenal. My toddler also always has a good time here since she can just roam without being in the way and enjoy the decorations.

Absolutely god awful. Do not waste your time or money. This was the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. To add to that, my ground beef was still pink. My girlfriend had a margarita and said it was the worst one she's had at a Mexican restaurant as well as the rice. We both didn't like that. The taste was very off. The best thing about our experience was the beer I had.

I ordered pickup for my family and let me just say, the food was delicious. I don’t know who made the guacamole but it was perfect!!! We all enjoyed our food and will definitely ordering again. Plus the price was not terrible at all 52 dollars for a family of five is a steal.

The good, extremely fast service. Food was out in about 2 minutes and the margarita was good. The bad. The Taste is very plain and generic, all of our food was plain and unseasoned and things tasted like they came out of a can. Disappointing food quality.

I've been going to this restaurant for almost 20 yrs. The food & service used to be much better. I don't go as much as i used to. A few weeks ago my beef enchilada meal was too salty. I did an Uber pick up order today, made it home with my food & order was wrong.

I gotnl totally lost in the area becuase the roads are not very lit up. I pulled over and was looking for a place to eat. This place came up and I was extremely satisfied. Food was great and service time was quick. Prices were reasonable and parking was ample. I will return. I recommend the carne asada with corn tortillas.

I went in as i usually do at any mexican restaurant, sat down they brought chips and salsa. I cant eat alot due to stomach issues. I ordered one enchilada for $4 and a coke. She brought me my ticket they charged me $3 for chips and salsa. I didnt ask for it but they also didnt tell me I would be charged and just brought it to my table. Then want to sneak the price in afterwords very unprofessional. The food was decent but I've had better. I definitely will not come back due to bad communication . I paid $10 for this a snack they were very deceptive on how they charged for the chips and salsa.

Very friendly staff with good helpful service. Was honestly surprised to see Mole on the menu. Wasn't the best mole but it's sometimes hard to find to begin with. The rest of the food we had was amazing. I've lived in mexico before and the vibe was pleasant, the horata was good and the corn tortillas was how they make them in mexico, very authentic, very delicious. Eager to go back and try some other dishes.

There is plenty of parking as this restaurant is in the corner of a big shopping strip. We were seated quickly and chips and salsa arrive at our table within 30 seconds. The chips weren’t that great but the salsa was good. They bring a small bowl of it, however. I had asked for a side of cilantro. I got a tiny plastic cup of it. I forgot to see what they charged me for it, but would’ve liked more. It did take our server about 10 minutes to get to us for our drink orders, however. By that time, we knew what we wanted for our meals and ordered accordingly. The water and soda cups are HUGE. I also ordered the chorizo queso. It was about $4-5 for a small bowl and $12 for a large. Absolutely delicious! But be mindful if you have high blood pressure. The salt is salting! We made it in time for their lunch specials. I was surprised that they have them on the weekends, but sure enough they did! I got the #14 which is a spinach enchilada, a beef taco and a pork tamale. They were all VERY tasty! Our server was polite and friendly. I failed to get her name, however, which is something I like to do. A positive lunch experience and will come back.

Very good experience! Came here for dinner. Was greeted with two kinds of salsa. One spicy and one not. We also had questions. My son ordered the plain nachos (just beef, melted cheese and Tortilla chips). It was very tasty and a large portion! I ordered the chicken. Tortilla soup. OMG!!! It was a BIG bowl! The soup was very good too! Slices of avocado were around the plate. Spanish Rice, Tortilla strips, pulled chicken were in the soup. It was very filling and tasty. I also had a small lime margarita. Very tasty meal. Service was quick (especially since it was Friday). I will certainly return.

We love this place! We don't even visit any other Mexican Restaurants anymore since this is the best one. The shrimps are always perfect consistency and seasoning. The plates are huge, we always end up taking home some food. And the Margaritas! OMG, best frozen Margaritas in a variety of flavors! It is very special dining in here because the customer is King & Queen there!♥️

I stopped by earlier this week for lunch. The service was spectacular! The food was delicious. I ordered the #14 lunch option which is a spinach enchilada, a pork tamale and a beef taco. Everything was so fresh and well worth the price! I will definitely go back again.

I had the el pastor tacos. They were delicious! So many tasty option to choose from. This was my first time here, but my sons have been coming here for a couple years and say that it’s always crowded. We did receive quick service though!

3/5 stars. Nothing incredible to cause me to return to their location. The food was average Mexican food, nothing entirely stood out as amazing. I expected the chimichanga to be larger but it was pretty small. The service was honestly bare minimum with our waiter. He was not super friendly and did not checked up on us much.

Maya has the absolute best guacamole in town!!! Fresh. Chunky. Flavorful. Margaritas were also good and tasty. Note that the restaurant closes mid afternoon and opens back up after 5.

Family has been eating here for many years. My first time. Food was good. Service excellent. Everything was fresh. Pricing was reasonable, which not many restaurants are not.

Definitely do not door dash with them. They messed up my order and the only solution was a refund with door dash when it was their fault. How does that get me my food?

Wife said she wanted something different so I started looking for a restaurant in the are we were going to be. Found this place and thought we would give it a try. The atmosphere was charming and inviting. The staff we warm and welcoming as we walked in. Our serve was patient and even offered some suggestions when asked. We each tried something new and different. I had the spicy burrito and my wife has the chicken fajita salad. Both were excellent choices. Mine was not overly spicy but well seasoned and delicious. Lucky for me my wife could not finish all Hera and I helped with the rest. I have never considered a salad like this, but let me say it was amazing. I ate everything and even scraped up all the lettuce just to get the very last bit. The vegetables and chicken were seasoned so well and they had such a pleasing flavor and taste. This place is out from where we normally run, but next time we are in the area we will definitely return. I was so very pleased, and I know you will be too.

Wow! The best little Mexican restaurant with a very upbeat vibe. A busy little place that seems to be popular with the locals. My Prickly Pear margarita was very good. We shared a plate of beef nachos which were on point. I love homemade guacamole & this did not disappoint.

All I want to say is each restaurant needs to be consistent with how much food you receive. I usually go to the forestdale location and get their cantina bowl. It is normally filled to the rim. So when you go to mix it up you have to be careful because it's so full. I have come to this location and ordered the same thing two times and the bowl is not full and I feel like for the price that you're paying that it should be. Now I have added to photos. One as you can see looks completely different than the other one. Why you ask because they have come from two different locations. The one that is not correct is the one from the 7th avenue location. The one that is correct is from highway 78 in forestdale. It had everything in it and I wasn't shorted anything

Everyone working tonight was rude. We waited at the counter to pay for 20 minutes and no one came and when someone grabbed a cup for their order they yelled at them but then didn’t check us out. Specifically one girl with bright blue hair was moving incredibly slow and wasn’t listening to what her I’m guessing supervisor was telling her and standing there doing nothing while food orders were piling up. I work in the food industry and this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

Today was my first time ever coming to this Taco Bell location in downtown Birmingham. I ordered three of the new Meximelts that just came out among some other food items for myself and my fiance. I made the mistake of not checking the bag before I left the drive thru since I was in a hurry due to rush hour traffic. I was shocked when I got home to see all three of the Meximelts were basically EMPTY and had absolutely NO cheese or veggies on them at all (Meximelts come with cheese, tomatoes, onions)... Not to mention there was practically NO MEAT on these very thinly wrapped pitiful looking tacos. There was also very little meat and cheese in my other food items ordered as well. Needless to say I will never be coming back to this location- this was truly a waste of money.

Took forever to be recognized. No interaction with staff. I picked up for doordash one night and I was stuck in the drive thru line for 33 minutes. I could get out of line and the staff was outside. When I finally got around, the guy at the window has some colorful hair and just looked at me like I was interrupting him. I hate going to this location late night. Terrible service

Today is a great day to show love! We were on the road, and made a pit stop to Taco Bell, since it was pretty late, and hardly anything open. Shelia was very accommodating, kind, and provided SUPER FAST service. Sometimes, we have to remember to acknowledge when people provide great service, even through the the chaos. Shelia, you’re the best!!

Tried to get a quick bite to eat but they were short staffed and like many restaurants they want you to order from the kiosk. Covid has spoiled the world when it comes to being dependent on technology

I’m extremely disappointed and disturbed by the treatment my group and I received at this restaurant. What was supposed to be a simple dinner turned into a humiliating and racially charged experience that no one should ever have to go through. We arrived about an hour before closing and were told we could order if we placed it quickly. We did so without issue. However, from the moment we sat down, the service was dismissive and unwelcoming. One of our drinks was incorrect, the other was half full. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, he immediately argued with us instead of listening. Only after the server admitted the drink was wrong did he back down—no apology was offered. Later, I politely asked that my dessert be brought out after the meal (as I had requested). The server rolled her eyes and said, “I’ll see what I can do.” She came back moments later to say the kitchen was closed and asked, “What do you want me to do?” I requested to speak with a manager again. Instead of getting one, she walked away visibly annoyed, again rolling her eyes. When my group pointed out that her behavior was disrespectful, it seemed to escalate the situation. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for our food, it was brought out already packed to-go—without our consent. We were informed that the general manager had decided to have us removed from the restaurant due to “our behavior.” At no point had anyone from management come to our table to speak with us or ask for our perspective. We eventually spoke to another manager who was kind and understanding. He apologized, adjusted the bill, and admitted he was only told one side of the story. When we were told the owner, Bryan, was available to speak, we were hopeful. Instead, he approached the table with his arms crossed, defensive, rude, and completely unwilling to hear our concerns. When we asked why he made a decision without ever speaking to us, he replied, “I don’t have to talk to you. It’s my restaurant. Your money doesn’t matter to me.” He then told us to “get the hell out.” What’s most alarming is that from the beginning of this experience, it was painfully clear that we were not welcome—and we strongly believe this was due to the color of our skin. The tone, treatment, and attitude we received from multiple staff members, including the owner, was laced with bias and racism. We were calm, respectful, and simply trying to enjoy a meal, but we were treated as if our presence was a problem from the start. Racism—whether subtle or overt—has no place in any business. No customer should ever be made to feel inferior, dismissed, or disrespected based on race. I will be contacting corporate and encouraging others to speak out. Until this ownership is held accountable, I strongly urge others to take their business elsewhere.

If you enjoy cold, soggy tacos, this is your place. The server was attentive and helpful. The manager collected the cold food for us and brought it back only marginally warmer than when it was first served. So, both the server and manager made an effort to salvage this unpleasant dining experience. The problem is the recipe for the tacos. Creamy slaw and sauce in a taco really do not work well. The place is trying to be innovative with flavor and composition, but in this case, it failed. With so many outstanding choices for tacos in town, including dozens of delicious food trucks, the only reason to visit this place is that it is convenient to the entertainment venues. Please choose items from the menu carefully.

Avoid unless you like $28 Margaritas that are not worth the price tag. Food is Applebees quality and overpriced as well. Servers seemed apathetic. Air conditioning must have been struggling cause we were sweating it was so hot. The only good thing that happened was the host opened the doors for us when we arrived and when we exited. After paying $152 for 2 people for a leisurely mediocre Tex-Mex Saturday lunch, we had already decided never to return. Base price for the classic margarita was $14 and I simply asked if they had a Reposado tequila instead of silver tequila and they said sure! Failed to mention it would be a $14 upcharge making our margaritas $28 a peice (for about a medium smallish glass). We had no idea because the waiter knowingly withheld that bit of important info. 3 margaritas =$84! Insane! Bill was $152 before the tip, we had 2 tacos each and chips/dip and a total of the 3 drinks. Wow. Just at least tell people “oh hey you know there is an upcharge right?”

Was there on 5/29/24 with my wife while our teenager and their girlfriend were at the NF concert. Could not have had a more enjoyable experience! First and foremost I want to say our server Josh was amazing! He said he had just started 3 days ago and was so personable and on top of everything. I especially liked when my wife and I were eating our churro cheesecake (highly recommend) and he said he had been working his way through the menu but still needed to get to the cheesecake. This to me is the sign of a dedicated server and a great establishment when employees make it a point to know the menu by taste. I had the mahi tacos and will rave about the pineapple salsa to anyone who will listen. My wife enjoyed the signature taco platter and had plenty of leftovers. Will be back from Huntsville whenever we can!!! PS: the bathroom was handicapped accessible, which I was very happy about as a wheelchair user.

We went at a slow time for dinner and had the classic fajitas. They were really good and the blackened shrimp were great. The guacamole had a great flavor but the pineapple salsa was a little spicier than expected.

Great fun with a variety of different golf games for a variety of player types! Food and service was great as well. Great way to spend a few hours and recommend the upper level!

I brought my family, 6 of us in all, to Top Golf on a Tuesday when they are less busy and give great discounts. These were true today. We ordered some donut holes and 6 glasses of water. Our tv monitors all worked. I was able to change the channel with my phone. The young lady that welcomed us and was very nice. It was my first visit, so I didn't know what to expect. As I decided to order some food, or server must have been busy. So, I went to the bar to seek answers to my questions. The manager's service was exceptional though. That's why I give 4 starts for service. If I could give 4.9 stars I would.

Great place for fun with friends . Food is very tasty. Restrooms were clean. Service is slow. They have a QR Code for the menu. I would suggest adding the ability to order from the tables.

I was here last night with my family (of 5--all in one bay). I made a reservation for 6:30. We got there about 6:15. I'll start with customer service. The lady at the front desk acted like she didn't care that we were even there--no smile no welcome--just here's your bay. I think our waitress was Cheyenne--very friendly but didn't come around very often--several times we needed more drinks, and didn't see her for quite a while. At one point a waiter from a different level brought us a drink we had ordered 10 minutes earlier and she was very friendly, even taking our orders for what we needed at that time. Moving in to gameplay--it was fun; the green mat was a little out of whack and the ball got stuck every time rather than rolling out onto the mat. If you didn't catch it, it would roll the opposite direction toward the adjoining bay. (We were, like, bay 226 or close to it --right in the middle.) Moving on to food--the nachos (both chicken and steak) and wings (both boneless and bone-in) were good. The BlackBerry Smash was good, but we didn't like the strawberry lemonade or the ?loaded? lemonade. One more good thing to mention is that we got an extra 15 minutes of play time, I think because we got there 15 minutes early. Overall we had a good time.

Update on 06/17/25. Still a fabulous spot! I hot. Chance to actually play golf or hit balls this time and I love it! Here are a few shots! Fabulous spot to hang out with very good vibe! The waitress was so nice when we actually saw her - but she was negligent!!! We sat at our table after getting food for OVER an hour before she came by again. Had to go to the bar to get anything else - including sauces that were supposed to be included w/meal. (Literally waited over an hour for this sauce). I’m astounded at the lack of service. Had to put our dishes on an empty table (the smell was bothersome) and they still sat there for hours after!!! We decided to come watch a football game so we’d been here awhile. Happy to have ordered drinks but didn’t get as many due to lack of service. Even when we went to bar - ignored. Ordered a drink that NEVER CAME but was charged for. Absolute bummer!!! I recommend other bars over this one.

Went to Topgolf on an outing for work. We have periodic get togethers outside of the office to unwind and have fun. I would not have chosen Topgolf as my choice for somewhere fun to go because I am not into golf and did not envision myself having a good time there. Luckily for me, I was wrong. I had a great time. I've never seriously hit a golf ball (unless you count putt putt golf) but I was shockingly good at it right off the bat. The food was better that I expected as well. The service was great (even though our server's personality was a bit on the spicy side—but I like that). I can't comment on the prices since it was a work event and I didn't have to pay for anything. I would definitely go back again in my own time with family or friends. Even if you think it's not for you, check it out because you may be pleasantly surprised as I was.

If you have yet to visit this place, you are missing out. It’s early on Saturday mornings but so worth setting your alarm. This is Birmingham’s 20th plus of the most beautiful day.

Cool atmosphere even though it was blazing hot & crowded. Some of the food trucks were parked over into the handicapped ramps making it hard for strollers or impossible for a wheelchair.

Nice selection of fruits, vegetables, fresh baked goods and handmade items. Fun to walk around and just take it all in. Pet Friendly on a leash.

Great little spot on the main drag in Mountain Brook. Great queso!!

This is the best Taco Mama ever! The food is always delicious, but the service and customer service is even better. They recently went out of their way to accommodate something left out of our order. We appreciated it so very much!

We picked up food to-go last night from here and I have to say I really enjoyed my meal when I got back home. I don’t typically enjoy picking up food and taking it out but the food was amazing even after the car ride home. The staff was also very friendly when we came in to pick up. I would definitely recommend this Taco Mama location!

Great Food like every Taco Mama BUT … Way Too Small for more than 2 people. Grab it to go & meet at a park , Botanical Gardens or The Zoo .

I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. Service, Food, The Atmosphere, everything was outstanding. I've been to other Taco Mama restaurants with a friend. This was my first time coming to this location. I came alone this time. They made me feel welcome. I had a good time. Thank you!

First, the vibe and customer service was excellent. I mean, "Give that girl a raise" excellent. Secondly, the food was good. I had 2 birria tacos and the 'birria soup'. The tacos were good but I wasn't happy that I had to pay separate for the sauce. I think it should have been included. There's no way I would have ordered this sauce to just eat as my soup and the tacos wouldn't be as good without dipping them. So, for that reason, I won't repeat this specific order, but I will go back again and try something else. Like I said, it was good.

My meal at La Calla was amazing! I had the hard shell Birria Torta with dipping sauce, and it was incredible. The crunchy shell, tender birria beef, and the rich, flavorful dipping sauce made every bite unforgettable. The combination of textures and bold flavors really stood out. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine.

When I say these were some amazing tacos I MEAN it! I got the pastor and the steak, and the flavors were so fresh and unique. Their guacamole was so fresh, it looked as if they were making it to order because it was sooo chunky. The chips and queso were really good as well, and the rice and beans tasted so homemade. I haven’t tried the drinks, but they look really good too. The service was fast and the workers were very patient and helpful. I DEFINITELY recommend.

Maybe this was just a off day went in on Sunday around noon and the food was not good. My son order tamale the shell was hard and meat was not seasoned. I got Nacho & Chips which was okay my husband got a Mexican Hamburger which was excellent. I would have to think twice about going back for another try.

Food, atmosphere and service were all excellent! The ONLY issue was the chips have to be paid for and they were SO salty and im pretty sure store bought. This was our first time going but we will be returning. Thank you so much for doing local flavor coupons!!!

Cute place, food was not good though:(. Deep fried corn shell should not be soggy, chewy and dripping when freshly made. Salsa bar was available but no chips (?) not sure if that is how it's supposed to be. $14 for two tacos and instant tea is crazy for bad food.

Excellent, fresh authentic Mexican food made locally. Prepared immediately upon order. Friendly and quick service. Reasonably priced a La carte options, posted above order window. Simple presentation. No frills setting. Somewhat Noisy due to tvs or guests or kitchen staff. But, very delicious authentic tamales, tacos served on corn tortillas, sopa, etc. with very tasty Horchata.

I clearly asked the guy if the chicken is grilled and look what he gave me: this garbage looks like it was steamed or something. They think we never had grilled chicken or tacos before. $3/each. It cost me $25 including tips. No restrooms either.

If this was at Pepper Place or The Preserve in Hoover they would need a forklift for night deposits. Well, Man Up and drive to Finley. Nice folks, very clean place and above average Mexican street food. Real tamales are a personal favorite and VERY hard to find in the Ham. 3 for $8 here.

This place has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. The service was superb and the gordita was extremely tasty. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

This is an absolute gem! Street tacos, tortes, carne asada meals, they have it all! And the people are super friendly. 10/10 recommend! Oh and the mango water is my choice drink…def a must try!

Nice small authentic Taqueria. It's not a big fancy restaurant, what is honest quality food. Amazing. Great for lunch or a quick husband wife dinner. Casual. They got a wonderful Habanero cream sauce for tacos that gives a little kick but tastes great.

Thank you for tamales, the first ones I have had in 10 years. They were awesome, just like the ones that I love from my friends in Texas. You will find them at the Farmers Market on Finkey Avenue. Small spot but filled with lots of hungry people wanting authentic Mexican food. Go to Taco Bell if you want ground beef, lettuce, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and hard flour tortillas but RUN to Taqueria LA Herradura if you want authentic, fresh ingredients such as tomatoes, corn and beans, with traditional spices, such as chiles and coriander, with fresh, soft corn tortillas. That's my report and I'm sticking with it! !!!

Ordered 4 chicken tacos & 4 steak tacos...I will say not enough sauce to even put on your tacos...very dry with the sauce provided. I got the green and red sauce (2 each provided) for 8 tacos; oh, and a steak burrito w/o beans. Was not very satisfying for the money spent. Please ask for a LOT of sauce if you get this order...I mean a lot.

This tacos had been on my tummy for a long time,and they still delicious as the first time. I don't usually take pictures of my food,but today I decided to take one. I ordered some CHICKEN FLAUTAS, these are crunchy rolled tacos, they're not ready when you order,no,it only take 10 minutes to cook them,but trust me,it's worth the 10 min waiting. So,for those who order FLAUTAS, ENJOY MY FRIENDS 😋👍

Finally, tried the chicken quesadillas which are meaty and sauce has a kick. Fresh avocados too. Great customer service, timely food preparation.

All i can say is we need a taco place like this in Hoover, AL. Tacos hit the spot! All the meats were so flavorful. Salsas were good too 💯. Great customer service from the girl with the light brown eyes. Will definitely be back! Cash only

Have been coming to this taco truck since a kid with my parents! They have always stay the same with her great customer service and the quality of their food has not changed and that is the best part about it because it is so authentic and still is! I love that their new location is very welcoming and has plenty of space to just to come out and have lunch or sit on the benches while you wait for your order.

The best seasoned cabeza burrito ever! Lots of meat and the green chile sauce is dabomb!

Baby Ziggy decided it was time to stretch his legs. Pulled up Google maps and caught the exit here just in time. Ziggy had perfect timing! This place hit the spot!! Generous portions with tons of flavor! If you are ever driving up 20 through Leeds Alabama be sure to stop and check Urban Taco Bar out!

Tacos to die for ! I have been to A LOT of the taco bars and taco trucks but this is ABSOLUTELY the best one yet ! I tried the pollo, asada, pulled pork, and my personal favorite the FRIED FISH TACO 🤤🤤🤤🤤 They we're all remarkable ! Whenever I am in the area I will make sure I stop by ! Super quick service and polite staff ! You can't beat it !

The food is good, and the ladies that work there are very nice. The guy with the high pitched voice is insufferable though, and shouldn't be dealing with customers. Very rude guy to say the least.

My 1st time coming here after taking my kids to the play place up the street. All I can say is WOW this place is amazing definitely brought me back to my roots of Chicago, The food was so amazingly fresh & so delicious. I loved every bit of it. Thanks again. I really wish this place was in Montgomery or else I’d be here at least 4 times a week 😅😌 5 Stars definitely a great place to stop for great fresh Mexican dishes
