The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs. It boasts an impressive collection of over 45 military aircraft, including rare gems like the Avro Lancaster bomber, one of only two still flying. From World War I-era prop planes to modern jet fighters, the museum showcases Canada's aviation history. Visitors can also explore flight simulators and learn about the roles these warplanes played in significant events like the Battle of Britain.
What a great museum. First time coming, and I really enjoyed my time there. Full of beautiful historic planes and equipment. I appreciate the volunteers and people who work there, doing what they do to preserve and maintain these amazing machines and honoring the men and women of the time and what they did. I look forward to returning on Canada Day when the Lancaster fires up. We took the tour led by Phil, very enjoyable. He was entertaining and full of knowledge. Thank you.

Great place to bring kids to, lot of different war time planes to see. There are 2-3 different types of aircrafts where the kids can go in and even sit in the cockpit. Lot of historical information related to specific planes and the role they played during various wars. They have 2 propeller planes which offer the opportunity to fly in them as well. They also have free flight simulators which are a lot of fun. There is a small merchandise shop which is nice. There is ample parking. overall lot of fun for kids and adults alike. Overall must visit place for anyone interested in WWII, Canadian history and aviation history.
Kedar G — Google review
Great place to learn about Canada's contribution to the world wars. Minus one star for the aged and disabled who wish to visit the open flight deck but have to walk up 3 flights of stairs. Thanks to all the young and experienced cadets who are really impressive with their product knowledge. The restorers and engineers are doing an amazing job fixing up this rare collection. The Runway cafe is really good value with all the usual fast-food you'd expect. And acknowledgment to the pilots who give their passengers an unforgettable experience
Warren K — Google review
Excellent place to visit and see the planes and learn how they were helpful to RCAF in defending sovereignty of our country. Interactive videos of decorated airforce personnel, who are not amongst us but the museum has kept them to see and learn about their lives. Place worth visiting.
Manoj M — Google review
We had our wedding here in October 2025. Stevie-Jane couldn’t have been more accommodating and easy to deal with. She communicated everything to us clearly and set expectations appropriately!! The day went as smooth as can be! All of our guests said the venue was so unique and fun! If you’re looking for a unique, and classy wedding venue, this is the place to be!!
Amanda M — Google review
What an awesome place. My 13 yr old wants to be a pilot and just being there with him was such a great experience. There was a large group of air cadets when we were there so we could not get a guide, but the self guided tour of the museum was fine. Would absolutely recommend to any plane enthusiasts and also anyone wanting to see some really neat Canadian history. Very well maintained, I really loved seeing these planes being restored, just awesome important work! Would definitely go back
Jessica K — Google review
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're transported through Canada's incredible aviation history. The collection of aircraft is not only impressive but beautifully preserved — especially the iconic Lancaster bomber, which is a true national treasure. The staff and volunteers are passionate, knowledgeable, and eager to share fascinating stories behind each plane. The interactive exhibits and simulators add a fun and educational element, making it a great outing for families, history buffs, and aviation enthusiasts alike. We were also lucky enough to see a few planes take off and land — a rare and thrilling experience! Highly recommend planning your visit around one of their flying days. A must-visit if you're anywhere near Hamilton — I’ll definitely be coming back!
Aditya T — Google review
I recently visited the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton and had a fantastic experience! The collection of aircraft is truly impressive, and it’s amazing to see so many historic planes up close, many of which are still in flying condition. The staff and volunteers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, taking the time to share stories and history that made the visit even more special. The museum is well laid out, with plenty of interactive and informative displays that appeal to both adults and kids. Walking through and learning about Canada’s aviation history was both educational and inspiring. The highlight for me was seeing the iconic Lancaster bomber – an unforgettable experience. Overall, it’s a must-visit destination in Hamilton. Whether you’re a history buff, aviation enthusiast, or just looking for a unique outing, this museum is well worth it. Highly recommend!

Dundurn Castle, a stately Italianate villa built in 1835, offers guided tours by costumed interpreters. With over 1,700 square meters of living space and about 40 rooms, this Regency-style manor house showcases stunning Neoclassical design with four grand pillars at its entrance. Once the residence of Sir Allan MacNab, who later became Canada's prime minister, the castle boasted innovative features like running water and gas lighting.
Beautiful, historic place to see. The tour lasted 45-60 minutes and the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of this place and the people who lived here along with servants. The tour brings you back into 1830 with 42 rooms, original furniture, pictures and clothing.. Amazing how things were 'done' 200 years ago, before the industrial revolution. The castle was full of servants and everyone knew their duties. The time very well spent...

A cool step into the past. Our tour guide Roxanne was very knowledgeable and gave a great tour. So many interesting artifacts to see and a fascinating history. Tickets also included entry to another military museum at any time, looking forward to checking that one out in the future.
Shawn M — Google review
We planned on always visiting but something came up so we decided on that day to just go and we did. We loved it beyond words, from start to finish. The atmosphere was incredible, clean, friendly with the staff always greeting us answering anything we needed. The tour guide was the sweetest person very polite and informative as were the other members inside. I would highly recommend visiting and taking a tour. If you’re from Hamilton I would recommend getting your library card to cover the cost. No issues with parking as there was ample space. I would suggest taking the tour twice to fully embrace the experience.

Another National Historical Site in the City of Hamilton. Very well-kept and well-maintained grounds. Free entry for those with a Hamilton Library Card. Gift shop available. Decent size parking lot available. Hall rentals available. No free WiFi. Benches around for you to sit and enjoy. There is a playground as well as a coffee shop.
JC L — Google review
We stopped by Dundurn Castle while driving around and only explored from the outside this time. The grounds were beautiful—we even caught a glimpse of a wedding, which made the visit extra special. The highlight for us was the Kitchen Garden, a large and well-kept space where staff dress in period costumes. It’s a lovely spot for a stroll, and we look forward to coming back to do the full tour another day.
Chula R — Google review
What a beautiful historic castle. Beautifully decorated and set up. Taking the tour was well worth it, our guide was a wealth of information. We very much enjoyed our visit.
Mike T — Google review
Even just seeing Dundurn Castle from the outside was worth the trip! The architecture is stunning, and the grounds offer amazing views that make you stop and stare 😍. It’s easy to imagine how grand life must have been living here back in the day—like stepping into a history book, only with fresh air and geese for company 🦆. Next time I’ll definitely go inside, but for now the exterior alone gets 5 stars!
G J — Google review
Lovely castle full of interesting history. Great tour guides with lots of information shared in 1 hour. The grounds outside were well kept. And even with it having been a scorching hot day, the premises were well ventilated indoors. Would highly recommend booking a tour, and visiting the on-site Hamilton Military Museum.

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Canada is a vast expanse of colorful and overgrown gardens, showcasing a variety of flowers that bloom from May to October. The site also hosts events and boasts an arboretum. It's an ideal location for photography year-round, with the Mediterranean Room offering a warm indoor setting during winter. There is a small fee to access this area, but it's well worth it for the stunning photo opportunities.
Beautiful facility! We visited on a weekend and decided last minute to go—buying tickets on-site was quick and hassle-free with no wait time. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially as we had dogs with us and were figuring out where we could go. Clear signage made it easy to know which areas were off-limits for pets, and our dogs loved exploring the outdoor spaces. Overall, such a wonderful and relaxing activity—I’d highly recommend it!

Such a beautiful place. Its far from us, but we went for the fall pumpkin trail and it was a wonderful night. Everyone we spoke to there was also so kind. Its like stepping out of thrle harshness of the world and letting this beautiful place refill your heart with joy.

I was a memorable visit. A great variety of plants and flowers. Spaces are design to the detail to maximize the experience. Many artwork to complement their beautiful gardens. This Botanical Garden has several facilities so make sure you allow yourself enough time to enjoy it to the full. By purchasing the General Admission Ticket you will also gain access to the Rock Garden witch is very enjoyable too.

A gorgeous and serene garden. The grounds are well maintained. The rock garden is beautiful. There are trails to walk. You can learn about all of the plays. It’s a great place to read and relax. Overall, the place is lovely. I recommend visiting.
Samina S — Google review
Include 3 gardens in one ticket plus they arrange nicely all annuals, roses, tree species and also medicinal garden. Although good collection of succulents plus green wall and pillars was very attractive. Rock garden is also good in architecture, nice concept of rockery with small waterfalls. Overall, worthy for nature lovers or Botanical students.
Rinkal D — Google review
Our family has been coming here for years. We have had memberships in the past and enjoyed visiting the indoor and outdoor areas year round as well as the many events they offer. We especially enjoy the hiking trails and visit regularly. There are a variety of wildlife to see including many birds (swans, ducks, chickadees, cardinals, blue jays and on occasion blue herring) as well as chipmunks, squirrels, frogs and turtles. The trails are well maintained and easy to explore. There are plenty of paid parking spots on site.
J L — Google review
Great getaway spot for peace and Quiet! Royal Botanical Gardens is such a beautiful and peaceful place to explore. The gardens are stunning, especially in spring and summer when everything is in bloom. There are so many different areas to walk through the flower gardens, nature trails, even quiet spots near the water. It’s really well-kept and easy to spend hours just wandering around. This is a good date spot to have long conversations and long walks. I actually met my date here, and it made the experience even more special. It’s the kind of place that makes a great impression, romantic, calm, and full of natural beauty. Whether you're into plants, photography, or just looking for a quiet escape, this place is a gem.

African Lion Safari in Hamilton is a family-owned safari park that spans approximately 740km and is home to a variety of African wildlife, including giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos, and lions. The park features seven different game reserves where the animals roam freely. Visitors can choose to explore the park in their own vehicles or take tour buses provided. There are also walking areas with smaller animals like parrots, toucans, and alpacas.
I went with my friends to the park in the weekend and we had a great time and so much fun. We rode the bus that goes for the tour and during this time we were able to enjoy watching the animals and the different species from Africa, Australia and other homelands. Walking in Kenya gate also was amazing especially around the cages of the eagles. I am in love with bald eagle and I spent around 20 minutes staring to it. Inside the place also, you will find different shops and cafeterias for snakes, souvenirs and other stuff. Overall it was a great trip and the place is highly recommended
Haytham A — Google review
I had an amazing day at African Lion Safari—truly an unforgettable experience! The trip was smooth and so worth it. Seeing the animals up close was absolutely beautiful. From majestic lions and graceful giraffes to playful monkeys and powerful rhinos, every moment was exciting and awe-inspiring. The park is well-organized, and you can really tell the animals are well cared for. Everything was a joy to see, and I’d highly recommend this adventure to anyone who loves wildlife. Can’t wait to go back!
Shajini U — Google review
An unforgettable experience! African Lion Safari in Hamilton is an incredible way to get up close with animals you’d usually only see from a distance at a traditional zoo. Driving through the safari park with lions, giraffes, rhinos, and zebras walking right by the car is something you’ll never forget. It’s both thrilling and safe — perfect for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole park was well-organized and clean. There are bird shows, boat cruises, children’s play area and splash pads, so it’s easy to spend the whole day there. Tip: Try to go early in the morning when the animals are more active, and definitely bring a camera. If you’re worried about your car, they also offer bus tours through the safari section. Highly recommend for a fun, educational, and wild adventure!
Priyanka S — Google review
We had such a wonderful time at African Lion Safari! All the staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and welcoming — you can really feel their passion for what they do. The entire place was very clean and well organized, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s an amazing place to visit, especially if you have kids — they’ll absolutely love seeing the animals up close and joining the fun activities. If friends or family come to visit Toronto, this is definitely one of the places I’d recommend! 🦁🐘
Beatrice N — Google review
We took 2 toddlers and a baby and had a great time. The oldest loved playing on the jungle gym set and the younger toddler loved playing in the younger section while we waited for the bus. They had a blast on the bus and loved seeing and being close to all the animals. We rode the train, watched some shows and looked at the elephants. Spent around 4 hours there but if the splash park was open it definitely would've been an all day event. Planning on going again when that's open
Miranda — Google review
African Lion Safari is a fun place to spend the day with your family! 🦁 It’s such a unique experience to drive through and see all the animals up close. However, you do need to be a bit lucky to get a good view of the animals. On some parts of the safari, there’s heavy traffic, and cars move really slowly or stop completely, which can block your view. Unfortunately, not everyone follows a proper line, so it’s harder for everyone to see the animals clearly — which is a bit disappointing. That said, the safety measures are very well handled. The staff are parked near the animals, watching over everything to make sure both the visitors and the animals stay safe. Overall, it’s a great experience, but there’s definitely room for improvement in how the car traffic is managed during the safari drive.
Sogol K — Google review
Great entertainment for all ages. There are lots of animals to see and great shows for the enthusiasts. It is better to take your own vehicle to enjoy the safari the most, specially if you have young children. The animals mostly stay away from the vehicles, only an odd time a monkey or two will come near and may climb your vehicle. The staff is extremely polite and vigilant to keep everything in order and to make sure that everything runs smoothly. A great experience & lots of activities to choose from. A must visit for a full day of fun & entertainment.
Khawar R — Google review
I had a wonderful experience! The game reserves are incredible, and you can listen to an audio tour online as you explore and observe the various animals. The boat cruise and train ride offered fantastic scenic views, and we spotted many different birds, primates, and turtles. The shows featuring birds of prey, wild wonders, and parrots were both engaging and informative. Overall, it was a great experience!

The museum's permanent collection reflects Canada's history and identity through iconic works, while also featuring contemporary and international art forms from American, African, Asian, and European artists. In addition to exhibitions and events, the gallery provides educational studio workshops for visitors of all ages.
The exhibit of Helen McNicoll’s art drew me in but I came out with much greater appreciation for other art projects, especially the super unique work in progress art. It’s really one of a kind. I asked if I could sketch there and was told that only with pencil. So I didn’t because I brought my watercolours and ink. It was nice to admire all the art anyway. I look forward to coming back.

I find myself falling in love with the AGH. From the connected, easy to use parking lot, to the friendly staff, opportunities to buy some beautiful works, and the mixture of programming it’s a real gem of a gallery. Plus it’s free for all summer of 2025, and isn’t overcrowded at all

Westfield Heritage Village, located in Rockton just a short drive from Hamilton, offers a captivating glimpse into the region's past. The outdoor museum spans 840 acres and features more than 30 meticulously reconstructed historical buildings. Visitors can engage with costumed interpreters who bring to life the culture and lifestyle of Canadians from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
I had an amazing experience at Westfield Heritage Village! I liked it so much that I visited twice this summer. The first time, I was so impressed that I went back the next day with a friend. The volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The village features over 30 historic buildings on a 130 hectare site, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past. It’s a great place to explore and learn about history, with beautiful woodlands, meadows, and trails perfect for peaceful hikes. Highly recommend it for anyone interested in history and nature!

We visited during Maple syrup festival which was also during March break so a popular outing for families. We purchased tickets in advance as they did limit the number of people entering at a time for this event. The tickets were good for 2 hours. Plenty of time to enjoy everything. This is a family friendly, reasonably priced venue . I intend to go back and visit again this summer.

What a marvelous gem! So many open houses and stories. The interpreters were outstanding and the First Nations perspective by Rope was an highlight. We thought 3 hours will be enough but plan to be there 4-5 hours with all the stories you can hear. We will be back!

Westfield Heritage Village is a hidden gem for history lovers and families alike. The village is beautifully preserved, with authentic 19th-century buildings and knowledgeable staff dressed in period costumes. Walking through the village feels like stepping back in time. The blacksmith demonstration was particularly fascinating, and the general store was charming with its vintage goods. The grounds are well-maintained, making it perfect for a scenic stroll. It’s also a great spot for photos, especially during special events. Overall, a wonderful place to spend a few hours learning about Ontario’s past. Highly recommend for a relaxing and educational outing!

Love a quiet walk through the village and woods or one of the exciting events like the maple syrup festival. Always a great time!

This is an incredible historic site! The properties are very well taken care of and the village as a whole is so charming. On sundays there are costumed interpreters and many of the buildings are open. I learned so much! It is interactive and fun for all ages. I went for about three hours and it wasn't long enough to see everything. There were some crafting activities I got to take part in. The general store sells real snacks! (the chocolate chip cookies are really great). Many of the buildings here were used as filming locations for shows like Anne of green gables and Murdoch Mysteries. Learning about medical/ surgical history was my favorite part. If you're lucky you might even get to meet some very pretty horses as some people ride them through the trails here. There is ample parking and the roads are flat and easy to walk. Admission to this site also grants you admission to two hiking trails near by. I came on a sunday at it wasn't busy at all. The storytellers here are very talented. Can't wait to come back!

Cute place to take the kids. The staff were all very friendly. It'll be great if they can incorporate a play on the center stage area. Be sure to wear bug spray if you walk through the trails. The most mosquitoes I've seen, ever, in one place!!

Wild Waterworks is a thrilling water park located in Hamilton's Confederation Park, offering an array of attractions for visitors of all ages. The park boasts a massive wave pool and various tube and body slides such as the Night Rider, Vertigo, and Corkscrew. Little ones can enjoy the interactive water playground at Little Squirt Works while older kids and adults can experience exhilarating slides like Kamikaze.
Great slides and positive entertainment vibe! Recommended, be brave to find out nice shades spots) Orange cream ice cream is the best one)))

Visited Wild Water Works for the first time. It was a good experience being there. Went in a weekday still it was crowded, maybe cause of the summer holidays, but it was fun being there. They have a huge wave pool and 2 water slides. Tried 1 of the water slides. It was a wonderful experience. They many lifeguards around every ride and near the pool. Outside the area, they have a huge parking lot, but parking can be an issue on weekends. They have a snack parlor inside the premises but a food truck is there offering wraps, burgers, and pops. They let you out if you want to go out for the food truck then they let you in after you have taken the food. They have lockers that can be used to keep the stuff. I used a standard locker for $14. Parking is free. Must visit.

We attended July 22nd around 3pm and it was nice and quiet. The park was very clean and all the life guards we were around we very attentive and helpful. Definitely some wild teenagers zipping through the lazy river but it’s to be expected I guess.

I highly recommend renting a cabana as this includes park admissions, tubes, locker, free water bottles. Cabana provides good shade and a table with 4 chairs and 2 muskoka chairs. Easy access as early as 10:30am. I noticed that the kids' pool was cooler than the rest of the pools. Little one enjoyed a lot. Lazy river is decently long and was awesome. There are 2 food trucks outside. Not too much options. Ice cream is also available in the Waves shop. Overall a wonderful experience 👍

We had a great time at Wild Waterworks in Hamilton! It’s a fun and family-friendly water park with something for everyone. Here’s what we loved: Attractions & Activities - 5 Water Slides – Fast and fun! Just note: kids must be 42" tall to ride. - Wave Pool – Super exciting! Lifejackets are mandatory for kids, and they’re available for free. - Lazy River – Relaxing and scenic. Renting a tube helps you skip the wait! - Splash Park for Kids – Perfect for little ones! My 4-year-old loved the three small slides and water play areas. Tips & Amenities - Tube Rentals – Not required, but helpful for skipping lines at the lazy river and slides. - Lockers Available for Rent – Great for storing your stuff while you play. - Free Parking – Always appreciated! - Cabana Rentals – A smart choice for big families or hot days. Offers shade and space to relax. Family-Friendly Vibes My son didn’t meet the height requirement for the big slides, but he had a blast in the splash park and lazy river. The park is clean, well-organized, and perfect for a summer day out.

DO THE WORKS AT WILD WATERWORKS!! Being a season pass holder has its perks especially with ice cold drinks for %30 off! Plus you get to skip the lines! & Go through bag check then scan & walk right into the park & have fun!!! Children 3 & Under are free. But what if your not a season pass holder & your a person with disabilities well guess what!!!! People who have disabilities pay $25 plus tax = $28 and if they have a support person they get in for free!!!

I visited this water park and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. The entire park was swarming with black flies, which attacked and bit everyone in our group repeatedly. The bites were incredibly painful, and now we’re all dealing with intense itching and some pretty bad reactions—especially my kids. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a fun day out. I wouldn’t recommend this park if you want to avoid insect attacks and painful bites. Hopefully, they address this issue soon for future visitors.

Great place to cool off on a hot sunny day. Place was very clean with courteous staff. Make sure to bring your own picnic though as many concessions were not operating, I think this place was much more popular back in the day. Would definitely go back.

The Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology provides a captivating look into Canada's industrial revolution, housed in a 150-year-old waterworks complex. Visitors can explore two preserved 70-ton steam pump engines that were crucial to the city's development. The museum offers guided tours, model train displays, and hands-on workshops, with special events like Golden Horseshoe Live Steamer Days featuring miniature train rides and free guided tours during the summer.
The museum provides a very valuable view into the history of economic and technological development of Canada. Its main exhibit is an original dual double-cylinder steam engine. Each one is equipped with a 22 ton flywheel and the total size is effectively a 3-story building. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered lots of various questions from the tour group. You may have to wait for a tour to start.

Such a great experience to learn the history of Hamilton. We paid for the 45 minute presentation/tour. We all loved it! The lady who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and kind. 10/10 recommend!

We went this weekend for a murder mystery event. It really was an unforgettable time! The event was put together really well and everyone involved was friendly and knowledgeable. We got a little display of the equipment in action and we were in awe. The museum is beautiful kept and preserved. Really felt fortunate to have the experience. I'd been missing out on all the Hamilton Civic Museums have to offer. This really made me want to explore more in the City. We'll be back!

HMCS Haida, a former Royal Canadian Navy destroyer, is now a museum ship located at Hamilton's West Harbour. As a Parks Canada Historic Site, it offers guided tours and educational events to help visitors understand the experiences of crew members serving on board during World War II and beyond. The ship played a significant role in historic battles and provides insight into its inner workings, from the deck to the engine room.
Came across this completely by surprise on a walk and decided to tour it, and I gotta say this was a blast (literally, they fired blanks across the harbour at one point). The tour is self guided though there are staff members around to give more in depth detail if you desire, and it takes about an hour on a busy day to get around the whole ship. Some ladders and staircases were a little narrow for my personal comfort, but that's hardly a real issue. Definitely worth the visit for any war history fans
Lugosi — Google review
This is a mist visit spot. It portrays the rich history of the Canadian participation in WWII. Going through the destroyer will give you an idea of the endurance of our brave brothers who served on board. It is the only tribal class destroyer that’s left in the world. Try to visit at 12, when they have the firing of the gun. Also, during summer if the temperature gets above 45 degree inside the ship, they will close it. It doesn’t have air conditioning inside so on a hot day expect it to be really hot inside. Dont miss the engine room. It’s absolutely fascinating!
Sanand A — Google review
What a great day trip! The HMCS Haida, Canada’s last surviving Tribal-class destroyer, was an incredible ship to explore—and the best part? Admission was free during our visit. We had a beautiful day in Hamilton, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They made the experience even better with their kindness and enthusiasm. Exploring the ship gave us a chance to compare Canadian and U.S. naval vessels, which made it all the more fascinating. HMCS Haida is full of history and very well preserved. Walking through the tight corridors and seeing the ship’s layout really made the past come alive. Highly recommend this stop—perfect for families, history buffs, or anyone interested in military or naval heritage.

So nostalgic for me, two of my grandparents fought during WWI and WWII and I get chills being here. It’s a well preserved history, there was also reenactment when we were there. Not a lot of parking so be there as it opens. I recommend getting a ticket, it was free when we were there but still need to pick up our entrance ticket by the booth at the entrance
Rachelle L — Google review
We went for a day trip and this was a last minute decision. The students/staff were abundant and full of knowledge. To our surprise they had a live gun display. This is a fascinating piece of history. As the ship is so old - my recommendation is to place some charcoal bags to absorb some of the weird smells. I left a donation as the entrance was free.

Exploring HMCS Haida in Hamilton 🇨🇦✨ My first visit here and I have to say, it was such a unique experience. Even with a 45-minute wait, stepping aboard this historic warship made it completely worth it. Walking through the decks felt like taking a step back in time and really brought Canada’s naval history to life. A must-see if you’re visiting Hamilton! 🚢🌊

Had an absolutely fun time wandering around this amazing Canadian War relic. So much access to everything and loved reading all the historical info on posters. Highly recommend this tour it’s super cheap and a great way to spend a couple hrs.
MegML86 — Google review
This is an amazing piece of history that is definitely worth the visit. You are able to walk through the warship on a self guided tour and take as long as you want. There is information along the ways as you climb up and down ladders and see what life was like for the soldiers that served our country on the ship and how it contributed to making Canada what it is today

Puddicombe Farms, Winery & Cider is a historic family-run estate located just 30 minutes from downtown Hamilton. Established in 1797, the farm offers a wide range of activities for visitors to enjoy. Guests can take part in guided tours of the vineyard and indulge in hand-selected wine or cider flights at the tasting bar. The estate also features seasonal fruit picking, including apples, sunflowers, and pumpkins during September and October.
Really cozy, rustic, historic farm with wine and cider for tasting and sale for the adults and (in the fall season) pumpkins to choose from, apples to buy, a bouncy castle, picnic tables and a muskoka chaired patio, a huge cow, donkeys and some goats and chickens, and the super unique train and train station (10$) for the kids and family. Its main purpose is not an attraction but rather this is a working farm with a large property of orchards (cherry, apple, pear). The train line runs through these features, as well as around some ponds and paste some equine. There are staff actively working the farm and, at the same time, simple yet sweet things for visitors to enjoy. We went on a weekday so it was mostly school aged children in on a field trip and a few families with pre school age children. There is a bakery/cafe with drinks, lunch options and treats. We took home an Apple Carmel pie and a litre of fresh pressed cider! I liked that it's not commercialized and has stayed true to its roots of a 9th generation family farm. An historic gem!

I have picked cherries here in the past and have been happy with the whole experience. Today however I was so disappointed. Every tree has rotten cherries. I understand it's unpredictable with the weather and the crop you get but we paid $50 for a 8L bucket and struggled to fill it. There was no disclaimer or warning that most of the fruit was unpickable and they do NOT give refunds so it feels a bit shady.
Johanna F — Google review
We had a lovely day at Puddicombe Farms, Winery & Cider—a great destination for a relaxed and fun family outing. The farm is beautifully set among scenic hills and forested areas, giving you a real countryside feel just a short drive from the city. One of the highlights for the kids was the adorable small train ride that loops through the property. There's also a wagon ride that takes you from the ticket area to the farm area, which was a nice touch and added to the farm experience. It really helps set the tone for a fun day outdoors. The gift shop and alcohol shop were a nice surprise,well-stocked with unique items and farm made drinks, including peach beer, ciders, and other seasonal creations. Definitely worth grabbing a few bottles to take home. We also stayed for dinner and found the food to be decent and satisfying, though nothing particularly fancy. It's more about the ambiance and experience than gourmet dining, which worked perfectly for us. There’s plenty of space to walk around, and the natural setting makes for great photo opportunities and a peaceful vibe overall. The staff were friendly, and everything felt well organized. The only reason it’s a 4-star instead of 5 is that while everything was enjoyable, a few things like wait times or minor upkeep around the grounds could be improved. Still, we had a really nice time and would definitely come back especially during the fall season when the farm must look even more stunning.
Pedram N — Google review
My husband and I visited here for the pick your own apples and we had such a lovely time! The staff is hard to locate, although once you do find someone theyre very kind. There is tons of parking and the farm is large with lots to discover! You can really feel and see the rich history of this farm which is so comforting. Prices are also very reasonable. The only down side besides having a hard time locating staff I'd say is definitely all of the trash and litter left everywhere. It was a little off putting, there was just so much of it, everywhere. Otherwise, very enjoyable time :)
Eden L — Google review
Free parking & free entry, train ride is fun & scenic view, cherry baskets are expensive for picking, 1 basket should not be mandatory for 2 people, there should be small options too for kids, but cherries are sweet & nice

I’ve grown up going to Puddicombe farms! I’m almost 40 & I can go as far back as to being a teenager and loving the haunted corn mazes they used to do! I live in Europe now but every year I fly home, my Dad and I take a drive to the farm, do a little stroll, buy 2 pies, and eat half of one there and take the rest home:)
Ashante C — Google review
Spent $37 plus tax on a ticket to the fall yall event for my son. Barely saw any staff around, when we did interact with staff we were barely acknowledged. The $37 for the ticket included a juice box and a mini areo chocolate. I had to pay for my train ticket. Pretty basic for almost $40 bucks if you ask me. Wasn’t very thrilled. Also after paying for my train ticket with my son, the train wouldn’t start and we sat in the train for half an hour. Didn’t even get a sorry or offered partial refund. I dunno. Wasn’t a great experience. Last year was much better.
Angela — Google review
Kids love the train ride. Apple picking is good but you need to go early in the season. We didn't realize kids under 3 couldn't use any of the kids activities out front. This should be posted on the website. Also, the farm is a bit disorganized and could use a tidy up (not just garbage).

Gage Park, located at 885 Mountain Brow Blvd in Hamilton, is a renowned city park that hosts various annual events and festivals. This expansive green space offers sports facilities, playgrounds, and even houses a children's museum and greenhouses. The park was designed in a style reflecting the Canadian cityscape and holds significant historical and cultural value. Recognized by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects for its legacy, Gage Park stands as one of Hamilton's most iconic landmarks.
It’s cherry blossom season and they are beautiful! I had a such a lovely time here. Great park, lots of outdoor green space, amenities and the tropical green house is such a nice nostalgia escape to the tropics in terms of plants. There is a lots of parking onsite as well as free street parking. I look forward to returning in the warmer months when the flowers are all in full bloom.

I had such a wonderful time visiting Gage Park in Hamilton! The gardens are so well-kept and full of color, it’s a beautiful spot just to walk around and take in the scenery. The greenhouse was amazing,I could have spent hours just enjoying all the plants inside. It really feels like a hidden tropical escape in the middle of the city. The park itself is spacious, clean, and perfect for relaxing, and I noticed lots of families enjoying the playgrounds and open space. It’s such a peaceful place to unwind and one of my favorite spots in Hamilton. I’ll definitely be coming back often!

The Gage Park Greenhouse is one of those places that makes you forget you're in the middle of a city. It's peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of lush tropical plants that are stunning year-round. The space is clean, accessible, and thoughtfully designed—with little touches like waterfalls, koi ponds, turtles, and even free-roaming quails that add to the charm. It’s a perfect spot to escape during the winter months or just unwind with nature on any day. Best of all, admission is free, making it a great low-key outing for families, couples, or anyone who just needs a quiet break. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the Hamilton area. It’s a local treasure that deserves more love!

Gage Park in Hamilton is a vibrant urban oasis blending historical charm with modern amenities. Established in the 1920s, the park showcases formal gardens, a restored heritage fountain, and tree-lined pathways. The 14,000 sq. ft. Tropical Greenhouse offers a warm escape with exotic plants and water features, while the adjacent Hamilton Children’s Museum provides interactive exhibits for families. Recent enhancements, including an accessible playground and improved walkways, ensure the park remains a cherished community hub. With its blend of nature, culture, and recreation, Gage Park continues to be a cornerstone of Hamilton’s public spaces.
William W — Google review
Gage Park is one of Hamilton’s biggest and most versatile green spaces. It’s got a bit of everything: wide open lawns, a large playground, splash pad, greenhouse, and plenty of shaded picnic areas. The paved paths make it easy for walking, jogging, or cycling, and the gardens are especially nice in summer. Parking is available around the park, though it can fill up quickly during festivals or events. Restrooms are on-site, and the bandshell area often hosts concerts and community gatherings. Families will appreciate the playground and splash pad, while others might enjoy just strolling the tree-lined paths or relaxing by the fountain. It’s a true community hub, though it can get busy on weekends.
Elika P — Google review
Extremely beautiful and well kept place to visit in summer evenings very nice playground with splash pad. Homeless situation made it bit insecure but it's better now . Only problem i found is that dogs are not allowed in the fountain, but dog owners not only let their dogs go in there they do pee also which made it absolutely disgusting for me to enjoy the fountain water.
Saleha M — Google review
I really wish that I could be kinder with this review. Let’s face it, (if you grew up in Hamilton) Gage Park usually is built into every child’s soul and core memories. Endless birthday parties, the two (when I was growing up rickety old wooden) play structures and just endless space to run around and have fun as a child. Then there’s all the festivals I come to Gage Park and how in a big way this little park brings the community that is Hamilton together. In fact this is where I learned to ride my bike, even though I may have crashed into an embarrassing number of trees, I got up, brushed myself off and eventually learned. My mother and grandmother would take me there every day after we went for breakfast at Zeller’s rain or shine. So this park means a lot to me and all of the people of Hamilton. Unfortunately, the beginning of May 2025 is where our very preventable accident occurred. My wife and I were riding those rented Bird scooters from Ottawa Street to downtown around 2 PM. We thought it would be nice and safe to ride through beautiful Gage park. We were coming down Sherbrooke st leading to an entrance on the southern side of the park near the baseball diamond. Without warning, my wife, which was ahead of me when flying off her scooter into the gravel, sustaining a sprained wrist, swollen knee, pretty deep lacerations on her forearms hand and abrasions on her face. All because the road leading up to the entrance in the path going into the park was not even, in fact, I’d say there was good 3 inch difference between the road and the path. This could’ve easily been prevented if there were a speckling of paint or a warning sign saying un-level pathway. A bunch of people from the park and locals who live around the area came rushing to her aid. They informed us that this has been an ongoing situation, but this was the worst they’ve seen so far… “so far” being the key words. This is wilful negligence because this has been reported in the past. The sentiment is agreed upon not only me but the locals and everyone who seen this incident occur.

Bayfront Park in Hamilton is a picturesque waterfront green space that has undergone an impressive transformation from its industrial past. The park, located at the western end of Hamilton Harbour, offers paved pathways, a boat launch, a grass amphitheater, and picnic tables. It is surrounded by a network of pathways for walking and cycling and connects to Pier 4 Park and the Waterfront Trail.
Great recreational park on the waterfront. The paved multiuser trail is suitable for walking (we love bringing our dog here), jogging, or rolling. You will see and hear lots of wildlife - songbirds, ducks, geese, and swans. You may not see beavers, but the signs of their work can be seen in the form of chewed or even felled trees.
Jamie O — Google review
Absolutely loved the park overall. Beautifully designed, Peaceful. I had to get out two stars as I have big concerns: 1. Entire air was toxic because of the algae in water around corners. I don't know why that's not maintained properly. This place has great potential but I got headache after few mins of exploring. Too much smell of methane. 2. There are no Washrooms in the park or near by so be prepared in advance. Unfortunately spending a lot of time there unless you stay near by is highly unlikely. I wish the management understands the potential and take measures for these two.
Namita A — Google review
Unfortunately not up-kept cleanliness is a big issue here the views are scenic ideal for sunrise and sunset or recreational activity but there too much geese poop and encampments ruin the environment. Water is also trashed and polluted best to do a quick picnic or walk along the trail. There is a beach area that is closed very run down the diner is too expensive $20 for just fish no chips but the milkshake $6 was a pleasure to enjoy with the lookout shame the city is letting it loose it’s peaceful charm as nature is being ruined

The area boasts two waterfalls, the Upper and Lower Punch Bowl Falls, each offering unique geological features. The Borers Falls Conservation Area, situated in Stoney Creek, is known for its iconic Borer Falls with over 100 years of history.
Beautiful vista and hiking areas. The punchbowl is amazing. It was dried up when we were here however, but it would be cool to see in early spring. Wish there was better maps to figure out the hiking paths and where they lead to. Paid parking on site.

Beautiful view of Hamilton and Burlington regions. Short trail (only about 10-15 min visit). Benches and lookout points make it easy to snap photos and take in the view. Not that much parking so recommended to come early on a weekday rather than later in the day/weekends. When you enter the lot, you need to press a button that will open the gate. Once parked, you must pay ($8.50 per vehicle) at a machine (credit card accepted). A receipt will be automatically printed and should be placed on your car dash. When you exit the conservation area, scan the barcode on the receipt to open the parking lot gate again.
K. J — Google review
Saw a fox, a resplendent swallowtail butterfly, a snapping turtle in a little pond left by the creek that had otherwise dried in the summer heat, and tons of millipedes marching along the empty creek bed, As I hiked around the area. Initially was there for a shoot, here’s some pictures I took while waiting for my scene - The punch bowl itself is a hike to reach but a beautifully dramatic location
Mike M — Google review
The view from the top is lovely. It’s a beautiful place for a hike, but fairly steep in places, and unfortunately you can no longer access the upper falls. It’s possible to get a view of the lower falls, but best to go when it’s not super dry, as otherwise they can be a bit tough to spot. The side trail is well-kept and clearly marked. You can access it from either Battlefield Park (bottom) or from Ridge Road (top).
Danielle V — Google review
Incredible views and cheap admission. Wear proper hiking shoes if you wish to hike to the bottom. Trails are well marked with this but there is about a 500 meter walk on the road to get to the trail head down to the bottom.
Graham S — Google review
There wasn't any crowd at all. Its a very short walk from the parking lot. The waterfall had dried up so that was unfortunate. But fall colors were beautiful.
Kiruthika K — Google review
This was absolutely amazing! The view from the upper bowl is beautiful and I suggest trying to see all the different areas (walk down the street & hop the guard rails for a closer view). The real beauty however lies down below in the lower bowl.
Rebecca A — Google review
It's a hole in the ground. There are 2 very short paths off the parking lot which connect. One leads to the road, the one with the punchbowl. We did not see any waterfalls, perhaps due to the dry season. There is a cliff look out where you can see the Hamilton skyline. We were there a total of 10 minutes...it's very overblown on the site. Parking is by the DAY, not how long you're there for, which is very greedy when it's $8.50. One of the 2 parking machines didn't work right, we wasted time trying to figure it out. Long drive there for practically nothing to pay $8.50 to park 10 minutes.

Battlefield House Museum & Park National Historic Site is a significant location that offers a glimpse into the early 19th century settlement life in Stoney Creek. The elegant mansion, built in 1796, was home to the Gage family and played a role in the War of 1812. The site commemorates the Battle of Stoney Creek and its impact on British troops and American invaders.
I loved this Place. love history, but I was disappointed the museum was not open yet it's state it's open 12 to 4. I traveled all the way from PEI and finally got to walk on hallowed ground but I also wanted to see the museum

Beautiful space with a mixture of trees and fields. I have visited here a few times. They also have great bathroom facilities that are kept clean. Nice place for a picnic, walk, or some family sports since there is so much field space. Not too far from the highway and close to other places. A nice place for a lunchtime walk as well of you work close by.

This is a nice deep dive into the Gage and Nash family history. Their story as residents caught up in the battle. There are some neat artefacts. Our tour guide was super nice and very knowledgeable.

This charming 1796 homestead of the Gage family comes alive with period rooms, costumed guides, and artifacts that bring life during the War of 1812. The towering 100‑ft Battlefield Monument offers sweeping views and history in one spot. The Battlefield House Museum is nestled within peaceful parkland under the Niagara Escarpment — perfect for a stroll or picnic. Annual re‑enactments each June deliver vibrant living history and community spirit — a highlight of the season. Ideal for history lovers, families, or anyone seeking a uniquely Canadian experience.

Didn't visit the museum, honestly our family only visits the park for the reenactment. But the park is clean, we'll kept and beautiful.

Well All trails marks this as "easy" and for me who walks and moves like a Gazelle...it was for me. However the 20 some odd stairs to get up to the beautiful monument might not be for the senior crowd. The path to the Devils Punchbowl has tripping hazards of fallen trees and protruding rocks, not great for the lazy and feet shuffles. We got to the Punch Bowl and there ws no punch.....nope...zip...nada water nor Vodka. The other part of the path past the railway tracks are beautiful....but again...some hills and bumps again, not easy....4 fake "Michalynn" stars.

The Battle of Stoney Creek took place here in 1813 as part of the War of 1812. The most prominent feature is a 100-foot-tall monument dedicated to those who fell here. The museum is housed in a 19th-century homestead. Hallowed ground.

The park is gorgeous and well maintained. I come here with my family every month to enjoy POGO community days and even with the influx of people on those days it is still easy to get around the park and is generally quiet. I can't speak on the museum tours as I haven't been.

Fresh food market
The Hamilton Farmers' Market is a historic indoor market dating back to the 1800s, offering a wide variety of fresh produce, dairy products, deli items, and baked goods. With over 60 vendors at any given time, this bustling marketplace provides an array of culinary delights spread across two floors. From Mexican tacos to freshly made sandwiches and sourdough donuts, there's something for every craving.
Great local market with lots of fresh fruit and veggies as well as incredible baked goods. Can get everything here including coffee/tea, lunch. I went on a weekday and it was perfect, not crowded. Parking kitty corner to the market has 1 hr free parking and 2nd hour is $3. You could easily shop and be done by an hour but if you want to have lunch or a coffee or both, it’s a bargain at $3 for 2 hrs parking. Visit was wonderful and got so many amazing veggies, fruit, meat pies. Can’t wait to be back.

The Hamilton Farmers’ Market is a lively and vibrant hub that perfectly blends tradition, culture, and community spirit. Conveniently located in downtown Hamilton, it has been serving the city for generations and continues to be a beloved destination for both locals and visitors. Walking through the market, you’re immediately struck by the variety and energy of the space. From fresh produce and baked goods to specialty shops and international cuisine, the market truly offers something for everyone. It’s not just a place to shop—it’s an experience that celebrates the diversity of Hamilton. The stalls are filled with colorful displays, and vendors are friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to share their passion for their products. One of the standout features is the mix of traditional farmers selling fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats, alongside unique small businesses that bring international flavors, artisanal creations, and local crafts. Whether you’re picking up ingredients for home, grabbing a quick meal, or discovering a new treat, there’s always something exciting to try. The market also feels like a cultural gathering place. With its iconic clock tower and art displays, it has a charm that goes beyond shopping—it’s a space where Hamilton’s history and creativity meet. Local shops such as Chaton add a fun and modern flair, while community artwork and signage bring vibrancy to the atmosphere. Overall, the Hamilton Farmers’ Market is much more than a marketplace. It’s a reflection of the city itself: diverse, welcoming, and full of life. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, a trip here offers a genuine taste of Hamilton’s community spirit and culinary richness.

The Hamilton Farmers’ Market is one of my favourite spots in the city. You’ll find the best birria tacos in town here, and I’m hooked. I love that I can grab English scones, fresh flowers, authentic spices, and those incredible tacos all in the same space. Always a great atmosphere and so many unique vendors to explore.

Good place to get fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, meats, handmade crafts, and Mexican food. Busy and bustling indoor space on a Saturday. Street parking and Green P parking available and the location is wheelchair and stroller friendly, with ramps. The area outside is run down but the market is well maintained and managed. It is a good way to spend a half hour to an hour of your day, especially in poor weather.

My brother and I have been here many times. They do have people selling vegetables, fruit, meat, cheese, fish, etc. To pay our food items, most of them who served us accept cash, credit, and debit. We usually ask, or they tell us how to pay. Some of them have a sign saying cash only. I recommend you bring your own bags. We always bring bags just in case they don't have any. When we go on the work week, it is not too busy. Sometimes we go on Saturday, it's busy. I usually check their website on what days are open and their hours. I also noticed they sell flowers, flower pots, birthday cards, and bake goods. Depending on what days they sell their items. They have Washrooms with Wheelchair Accessible Entrances. They do have parking at their garage across the Farmers' Market. They do have Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lots and Entrances. We had to pay Most of the time, we park on the street. We put money in the meter. They only accept coins. They also have parking lots in the area. They have a machine to pay debit and credit. We received a ticket to put in our vehicles on the dashboard.

Treetop Trekking Hamilton, located near the Binbrook Conservation Area, offers an exciting forest adventure for visitors of all ages. The Treewalk Village Adventure Park provides a network of treehouses for young children to explore, while older kids can enjoy navigating through treetops using walkways, bridges, and zip lines. The park features five different courses with varying difficulty levels for aerial and zipline games.
May 2025 5* Visited the place with kids to have some adventure. Treetop has different properties across GTA and has different adventures level. There are different level for different age group. We picked for age group 7-9 years and you can block timeslot. The instructor guides kid during the session but cannot help otherwise. The games were well organized and kids really enjoyed it. There are different level for adults and can enjoy the adventure. Hamilton area is under tick zone so they precautioned at the property and suggested to stay within trek. Staff is helpful and quick. The place is located within conservation area and also has picnic space.

I visited the Tree Walk section of the park with my 4 year old granddaughter. The ticket gives you 2 hours to play. We were there when the doors opened at 10am on a Friday in July and it was not crowded. You can take snacks or a picnic with you. 2 hours was plenty of time in the village. It is found in the Binbrook Conservation Park so the price does include your admission to the park as well.

I had SO much fun at Treetop Trekking I did the Aerial climbs. All of the guides were great. The guides gave us great run downs on what to expect for each of the 5 courses, useful tips and tricks to navigate the hardest obstacles, checked in with us after every course to get our experience. With a ticket you get three hours of access to the courses. For me it was enough time to complete all the courses and had allowance for me to take several breaks between them. I would suggest bringing gloves with good grip if you have them, and a bottle for water. Drinks were available on site if you're like me and forgot yours at home!

SO MUCH FUN!!!!! We went for my bro's birthday! Although I've only been once, today (Oct 17th) is my all time favourite date to go now. No bugs, no overheating from the sun, simply stunning gorgeous autumn forest canopy views, and the little pitter patter of rain makes the leaves even more beautiful! Because the courses run through the forest canopy, you barely feel the light rain (as it happened to be raining during our 3 hour trek). We opted for the gloves--I highly recommend that option. Make sure you use the port-a-potties BEFORE you do the course!!! The staff was awesome: LOTU, Branch and the lady at the front ... all great support on this fun forest adventure. Note: If you are just a week away, the day you want might not be available. We originally wanted a different day but every other day this week was unavailable... SO BOOK IN ADVANCE!!! ♡ I heard they are open til November. Go for it!!!

We had such a great experience at Treetop Trekking (Binbrook location) today. We had two age groups with us, so there was an adult with one doing the Discovery Course, and I took the older youth on the Aerial course. Our instructor Cupid did an amazing intro for us, and Frank was THE BEST guide out in the forest. The kids were able to get through 4 of the courses (with the exception of 5 only because of age). The games were really cool and had a good variety and level of challenge for them. They loved the ziplines too. Frank was there to offer guidance with the equipment and support when they needed it. For the Discovery course, our youngest had a blast! They taught them how to link up with the equipment and the basics of safety. They loved the course and had no problem with heights, which was great because they actually have a fear of it. All fun and games, so lots of excitement. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff from start to finish, so thanks for a great day everyone! If you bring lunch there were lots of areas to sit together and hang out. Parking lot not far. There were also drinks and snacks at the main check-in for sale. Lots of nature around too even as we enter the last month of Fall. I can't wait to come back with my partner for a date day next year. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors and who's interested in challenging themselves.

We have taken our kids a few times now to Tree Top in Binbrook and always have so much fun! We just had my son's 5th birthday in the tree walk village on Sunday October 5th, mid-afternoon and it was an absolute blast! Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and the kids had a great time playing and a few of the older kids had fun doing the discovery course. We had reserved a table outside the tree walk area for 3 hours and it looked over the lake. Just an awesome day!! Thank you!!

There are 5 courses from easy to hard suit for different level of climber. The first courses is walking around the lake side . It is so beautiful and peaceful! The last course has a wonderful zip line crossing the lake. So great experience. We will come back again. And the staffs are all nice and helpful!!!

Great experience! Guides were present enough that you feel supported if you need help but still gives you the feeling of being on your own. Great variation in courses. Wish some of the ziplines were a little longer but still had a great time. Definitely sore the next day though after using muscles that don't usually.

Cameron Speedway is a large sports complex that features a Go-Kart track, five paintball fields, a four-sided rock wall, target range and laser tag arena. It is perfect for all types of outdoor sports enthusiasts. The staff are very friendly and patient, and they did a great job explaining the procedures to new guests.
My family members all enjoyed the go kart very much. We didn’t mind that we had to stop to do the lap counts. I think it is a nice little break before you race out back on the track on your maximum speed again 😆 All the workers we encountered are very friendly and helpful. I think it is a great place to spend some quality and memorable times with family and friends. One thing though, if you race closely behind another go-kart, you will end up with a lot of black dust on your face and neck 😂

Great little place for some fun activities. The race tracks are ok. A bit too short for me as an adult. The kids had fun. There’s paint balling , I saw rock climbing. There’s 1 tower for that. A little snack bar with some picnic tables. They have a misting tent which is cool when it’s so hot out. Free parking. Overall the staff seem pretty nice and Knowledgeable in there fields. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Definitely a must try. It’s great for groups as well

We visited this place hoping to have fun and enjoy some adventure activities, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The only available service was go-karting, so that’s all we were able to do. We inquired at the front desk about playing laser tag and using the target range, but were told we'd need to wait an hour and a half for a staff member to set it up. Despite waiting over two hours, nothing was ever prepared so we left. We drove more than an hour to get there, only to be disappointed. It’s frustrating when a facility promotes multiple activities but isn’t prepared to deliver on them. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that staff are ready and available to run all advertised games, so other visitors don’t have their time wasted. Pros: we love their snacks, all delicious and budget-friendly.

The track here is super fun. But please count your laps yourself and ask the person tallying what lap your on. I just went here and my group paid for 10 laps but we only got 6 and another group said they got cut short to. Called the place after and talked to some girl I don’t know her name she wouldn’t tell us her name. She just argued with us for about 5 mins before hanging up on us. Not sure again what her name is but she had gigantic eyelashes and a heavy attitude you won’t miss her.

Festival
The Festival of Friends is a highly anticipated event, often considered the largest free music festival in Canada. Originating in the late 1970s, it has been an annual tradition taking place on the weekend following the August holiday. Initially held at Gage Park, it later moved to Ancaster Fairgrounds before returning to its original location. While it started as a music and arts festival with engaging children's activities, it evolved into a more commercialized event with amusement rides.
This is a wonderful event to attend. Over the many years there have been many famous bands that have played at this festival. What is more amazing is that it is free entry to this festival and is run off of donations from many people and organizations. There is a wide variety of vendors to to visit while shopping. There are plenty of unique food trucks and vendors to choose from as well.

Gage Park – Beautiful as Always, but Some Issues at This Year’s Festival Gage Park is exceptionally beautiful, and we always look forward to the Festival of Friends. We've been attending for the past 15 years, and it's become a cherished tradition for our family. This year (2025), however, we were disappointed by a few things—starting with the parking. We’ve always parked for free with our accessible permit, but this time, we were charged $15 just for parking—at a free event. That felt a bit ridiculous. The festival itself was great overall. We went on Friday and saw The Thews, who put on an awesome show. The atmosphere was lively, and we had a blast despite the crowds. That said, a couple of things took away from the experience: Smoking was everywhere. As someone with asthma, it was extremely unpleasant to be surrounded by cigarette smoke, especially with so many children and families around. There should be designated smoking areas. Food pricing was all over the place. We paid $57 for 3 small poutines with a piece of chicken on top—that’s $19 each, and they weren’t even filling. We ended up buying more food just to satisfy our hunger. On the bright side, the vendors were fantastic, and most prices were reasonable. For example: Donair with meat and toppings – $17 8-piece boneless bites – $12 3 cheese pupusas – $15 Despite the hiccups, the event was still fun. But we do hope the organizers take feedback seriously, especially when it comes to pricing and making the environment more inclusive for those with respiratory issues.

I’ve been going to Festival of Friends for the past three years. What blows me away is that this major music festival in Gage Park is totally free … no ticket, no fuss, just good vibes and great tunes. This year’s lineup was outstanding: The Trews headlined, and we also got amazing sets from Dan Mangan, Sister Sledge, The Sugarhill Gang (with Melle Mel & Scorpio of The Furious 5), Brett Kissel, The Wild High and more…. Last year’s festival was just as memorable the lineup included War and David Wilcox on Friday, Village People and Crash Test Dummies on Saturday, and Aaron Goodvin closing out Sunday. Over the years I’ve also caught performances from Honeymoon Suite, Finger Eleven, Kim Mitchell, 54-40, and Crash Test Dummies, among others. The mix of big names, local talent, and surprises keeps it exciting. I went with a group of friends this year; we wandered between stages, tried new food vendors, could not stop dancing and felt that real sense of community when the crowd sang along. Sure, it’s crowded during peak hours, but there is always parking available …. the energy and experience you get is incredible If you’re in Hamilton or nearby, Festival of Friends is not just a concert … it’s a summer ritual. Free music, arts, food, and people all coming together…. Already counting down to next year!

This festival began in the late 1970's and has been held yearly since then on the weekend following the holiday weekend in August. For many years it was held in beautiful Gage Park but moved to the Ancaster Fairgrounds for a few years before moving back to Gage Park. In the earlier years it was an exceptionally great music & arts festival where the children's programming involved them in artistic endeavours, but later became commercialized with typical amusement rides. The music remained strong, though, with many amazing Canadian indie performers. For many years there were several smaller stages in beautiful wooded settings and the intent is to return to these to accompany main stage performances.

You can preorder snacks / drinks ahead of time for intermission but I didn’t get anything so can’t speak to what they have! Overall a wonderful place to have a night out, would recommend upgrading your seats to be in a box or orchestra for the best experience :) highly recommend!

Hamilton and the GTA are so lucky to have Theatre Aquarius — a professional regional theatre led by Mary Francis Moore. I’ve had the chance to see many unforgettable performances here. The programming offers a great mix of in-house productions and collaborations with local and national theatres, such as Crow’s Theatre in Toronto and The Grand in London. One of my favorites was Beautiful Scars, a new Canadian musical developed at Aquarius. The theatre also offers a wide range of classes for both kids and adults — from acting and musical theatre to devising. Both the theatre and its acting school have a long-standing legacy of excellence. In addition to the mainstage, there’s also a black box theatre where you can catch local productions, new works, festivals, and more intimate pieces — all housed in a space with high ceilings and state-of-the-art equipment. The welcoming vibe created by the dedicated staff and volunteers really sets the tone. Even the concessions stand out — the variety of snacks and drinks shows the care that goes into making Aquarius a space for community and belonging. I love bringing friends to experience the unique blend of top-tier theatre and radical hospitality. They also host fun community events like a holiday artisan market and take part in local happenings like SuperCrawl. 10/10 recommend.

Great place to see live theatre - a true Hamilton gem. High quality shows at a fraction of what big budget productions cost at better known theatre's. Plenty of local touches including most of the staff being volunteers, local artwork and small collectibles made by locals available for sale. African Lion Safari in Hamilton offers a unique safari experience where visitors can drive through natural-looking habitats to see exotic animals like lions, elephants, giraffes, and more. The attraction also features walk-through areas with exhibits related to animal conservation. For an even closer encounter, guests can join a privately guided tour with a Game Warden to witness active lions and hand-feed Canada's largest herd of giraffes.
We had such a wonderful day at African Lion Safari! We arrived right at opening and hopped on the bus tour with the kids. It was perfect because we could fully enjoy the animals without worrying about driving through ourselves. We packed our own lunch and found plenty of picnic tables to enjoy it at. I’d recommend bringing a refillable water bottle too—there were lots of stations to top up throughout the day, which was great in the heat. The kids’ absolute favorite spot was the splash pad—it was such a fun way for them to cool down! We planned our route by walking to the furthest point first, which was the elephants, and they were incredible to see up close. On the walk back we stopped to see the birds and caught the Birds of a Feather show. It was a bit hot (not much shade), but still really enjoyable. We finished the day at the water park, which was another big hit with the kids. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and we can’t wait to go back!
Stephanie M — Google review
Our experience with the bus service, which costs an additional $5 beyond the ticket price, was average.  A significant drawback was the limited viewing time for each animal, as the buses moved quickly through the exhibits.  Using a personal vehicle is highly recommended. While there were initial concerns about potential damage from baboons and monkeys, an alternate route bypassing their reserve is available, though this information wasn't readily apparent until our arrival.  Driving through the reserves after the bus tour is also permitted.  Note that the bus tour did not include the Australia game reserve.  We observed numerous animals at close range. The park is well-maintained and offers enjoyable boat and train rides.  The bird shows, particularly the parrot and bird of prey demonstrations, are exceptional.  A key attraction is the splash pad area, featuring water slides and swings for children, along with a playground.  For a comprehensive experience, early arrival is advised. Ample parking is available, and online tickets offer a $5 discount compared to purchasing at the ticket window.
Christin S — Google review
We had a great experience! Saw many animals up and close. It is a well maintained park. Includes fun boat and train rides as well. The bird shows are fantastic. Main attraction is the splash pad. There are water slides for kids and cute swings over water for the tiny tots. There's a playground as well. For a complete experience reach early. It took us about 2 hours to get through the drive through safari. Plenty of parking is available. Online tickets are $5 cheaper than the ticket window price. So book ahead of time.
Manali K — Google review
Didn’t see much animals as it was pretty hot. But, enjoyed a lot. We rode a water ferry and train which was exciting and knowledgeable. Also, the best part of the whole safari was splash pad on the hot day ….. Also, make sure to buy tickets online to save some bucks.

It was absolutely worth the ticket price as it was a memorable day from start to finish. To make the most of your visit, aim to arrive around 10 AM, since it gets noticeably crowded after 1 PM and long queues begin forming for the attractions. The venue itself is immaculately clean with exceptionally friendly staff who are always ready to help. The real highlight? The parrot show vibrant, entertaining, and well worth watching. For those eager to get wet, make sure to bring your swimwear there are fun water‑based activities that add a splash of excitement to the day. Adding extra value are the included train and boat services which provide lovely scenic tours through the grounds. If you have your own vehicle, consider using it for the safari portion. This lets you spend ample time with the animals, stopping as often as you like and taking beautiful photos at your own pace. We had a blast capturing amazing shots—even though we missed a few rare species and, unfortunately, the parrot show during our drive. On the bright side, we still managed great pics of emus. Funny story: one emu came so close—attracted by our camera light—that it practically scratched our car! Food and drink are easy to manage. You’re welcome to bring your own which we did, but there are also good on‑site lunch options, and convenient refillable fountain drink stations In summary: arrive early, bring swimwear, consider using your own vehicle for the safari, and soak in the parrot show—don’t miss it. With friendly staff, clean facilities, added boat and train rides, and enough food options, it feels like a full day of fun and great memories. Definitely an experience worth every penny!

Great experience, well organized and minimal waiting for anything, even on a weekend. The water park and playgrounds felt clean and modern. My friends and family all asked us about if the monkeys damaged our car. There is a monkey bypass option and also a bus you can purchase tickets for. Everything else in the park (train ride, water park, shows etc.) are all free once you're in the park. And yes you can bring your own food, but there's also food and drinks for sale, lots of merchandise and even a licensed area with patios to ensure a drink near the water park.

Had a great time. Saw so many different animals and birds. We took the time to get out of our car walk into the park to see the elephants and exotic birds. Good selection of food but also a lot of places to park. We went on a Saturday in the middle of the summer and although it was busy we had good parking and saw a lot. Would actually consider a summer pass. Great splash area for children to enjoy.

The Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King is a stunning Roman Catholic cathedral located near McMaster University. Constructed in 1931-1933, it boasts 13th Century English Gothic interior architecture with ornate stain glass windows depicting significant events and figures in the Catholic faith. The building's design, created by Pigott Construction Company and Hutton and Souter Architects, is a rare gem in Greater Toronto.
The experience of visiting this cathedral was truly remarkable, as it showcases an exceptional architectural design that offers a wealth of visual elements and the surroundings provide numerous points of interest, contributing to a comprehensive and enriching exploration of the site.

Walking up to the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, you’re immediately struck by its sheer grandeur. The stone architecture rises with such elegance, it feels like something out of a European fairytale. The details—every arch, every carving—are simply mesmerizing. But it’s once you step inside that it truly takes your breath away. The light streaming through the stained glass casts a kaleidoscope of color across the pews, and for a moment, the world feels completely still. The high vaulted ceilings and the quiet echo of footsteps create a sense of reverence that’s hard to put into words. It’s not just beautiful—it’s soul-stirring. Whether you’re spiritual or not, the space invites reflection, awe, and a kind of quiet peace. A must-visit gem in Hamilton—one that leaves a lasting impression.

Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King—a Gothic Revival masterpiece perched atop Hamilton’s skyline. Constructed between 1930 and 1933 by the local Pigott Construction Co., it was consecrated on December 19, 1933, and later honored as a Minor Basilica by Pope Benedict XVI in 2013. Fun Facts: Its soaring interior draws inspiration from 13th-century Norwich Cathedral, featuring a stunning vaulted ceiling with gold bosses, Indiana and Ontario limestone pillars, and seating for over 1,000 worshippers Boasting 82 stained‑glass windows crafted by the Mayer studio in Munich and a majestic rose window showcasing biblical scenes, saints, and even Pope Pius XI and Bishop McNally The 88‑ton marble ciborium above the tabernacle symbolizes Christ’s kingship and blends beautifully with the Gothic design. A sight meant to be seen by locals and tourists.
William W — Google review
Stepping into the Cathedral Basilica of Christ, the King is like entering a sacred poem carved in stone. Perched atop a hill overlooking Hamilton, this magnificent Roman Catholic cathedral has stood as a beacon of faith and architectural brilliance since its consecration on December 19, 1933. It was the first cathedral in the world to be named after Christ the King, following Pope Pius XI’s institution of the feast in 1925, a powerful symbol of spiritual reverence and historical significance. The moment you walk through its grand doors, silence wraps around you like a velvet cloak. The air feels heavy with memory, as if the very walls are whispering stories of devotion, hope, and generations past. It’s not just a building. It’s a living heritage. Designed in the Gothic Revival style, the cathedral’s soaring 165-foot bell tower commands attention from miles away. The intricate stonework, stained glass windows, and vaulted ceilings are a masterclass in craftsmanship. A carillon of 23 bells, including the massive Bourdon Bell donated by Prime Minister R. B. Bennett fills the air with solemn music that echoes through the city. The cornerstone, blessed by Bishop McNally, was excavated from the Roman catacombs, a profound gesture linking this Canadian cathedral to the ancient roots of Christianity. Every detail, from the hand carved wood to the imported materials, speaks of a time when beauty and purpose were inseparable. This cathedral doesn’t just impress. It humbles. Whether you’re attending Mass, sitting in quiet reflection, or simply admiring the artistry, there’s a sacred stillness that invites you to pause. It’s a place where memories linger in the air, where the past and present meet in reverent silence. For anyone seeking spiritual depth, architectural wonder, or a moment of peace, the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King is not just a destination. It’s an experience. A true jewel of Hamilton, and one of Canada’s finest churches

From my apartment, I have the privilege of enjoying a stunning view of the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King. Its majestic architecture and illuminated presence at night are truly captivating. I've attached a photo I took to share this beautiful sight. The cathedral's design and significance add a unique charm to Hamilton's skyline.

This was my first time attending Sunday mass at this cathedral and I was delighted. Architecture, stone, marble, and wood work were stunning. But the most important feature was the peace and connection with God I felt in my heart. Nice parish I will certainly come again.

Absolutely stunning cathedral! The Gothic architecture, stained-glass windows, and marble interior are breathtaking. The peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for reflection, and the choir music during services is truly moving. Whitehern Historic House & Garden is a well-preserved Victorian-era home with original furnishings from various periods. Once owned by the influential McQuesten family, it offers insight into Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian life. The museum showcases decor and elements from these three distinct time periods. Additionally, the venue's Stable provides a charming setting for intimate wedding celebrations in downtown Hamilton. With its rustic ambiance and picturesque courtyard, it's an ideal spot for couples to exchange vows and celebrate with loved ones.
An awesome hidden gem in Hamilton. A historical museum in the front, when you enter it is as you are transported back to the time the house was built. Great service from the staff. They have in the back, a small area for events that Is directly rented by the city of Hamilton. Such a nice place to visit on a weekend.

Don't be tempted to skip by the smaller size of this museum - the storytelling is what makes it larger than life! Tour guide Claire was amazing and told the family lore of the McQuestens in such an interesting way. They could have their own TV show with all of the details and drama detailed in their family letters! Claire encouraged us to ask questions and answered them with enthusiasm. You will get lots out of this tour if you interact with the guide. We were lucky to be the only people there for the 3:00 tour on a weekday. The house itself is gorgeous and full of little historical and personal touches.
Jessica L — Google review
A historic house in the middle of downtown Hamilton: as incongruous with the high rises surrounding it as it is wonderful. Stepping into this stately house is like going back in time to the 1930’s in the heyday of this wealthy and influential family. It’s as if the family woke up one morning and decided to leave a house (and garden) sized Time Capsule behind. Guided tours occur three times a day and it is well worth it for all the explanation and information you will get along the way. The tour takes approximately one hour and you will be shown each room of the house. After, you are free to wander and enjoy the garden at your leisure. Purchasing a ticket online in advance is recommended but entrance is free with a Hamilton library card.

A stunning place, with amazing history. Our tour guide was really really engaging, and what stood out from all the other tours was that, she really made sure you knew about these people and what happened in this house. You walked out of there feeling like you knew them in some way. Everything here from the tooth brush, pins to even the smallest faintest details are all very well preserved! You really see history as it once was back in 1850's. Music is played to set the tone and the basement was quite a surprise for sure! If you ever get the chance to visit Hamilton! Make this your first site visit!

We've our tour of this very interesting home . It is a place frozen in time. Everything in it is original and used/handled by the family. The story of incredible industry and exceptional tragedy was quite gripping. It was very worthwhile and our guide who has been guiding here for 15 years (sorry can't remember her name) is terrific and knowledgeable and acredit to this historical effort.

Visited the place with family on Saturday afternoon. The place is very nice and there are lots of activities for kids on full stretch from Burlington Beach to Confederation park. It is nice garden won lake side for fun. You can enjoy picnic with family or beach side. The beach is not with sand but have stones. But water is clean and you can swim and enjoy it. Kids will have fun. The best thing is there is plenty of parking space and toilets are super clean. Kudos to park staff. There is currently no entrance fee for the park. However, one should go early as it can be full in the afternoon. Also plan in advance as there are so many activities to do.

A beautiful part of Ontario, where you can go for a long walk or ride along the lake. It is an excellent place to meet friends and their dogs for a wonderful walk and talk! Also great places for picnics bbqing, playgrounds for kids. We try and meet up with a bunch of cairn terriers and their humans once a month for a walk, rain or shine!

Such a beautiful place. The beach is always clean when I visit. The trail is great, though I've never walked it. I have seen the flat pavement and empty garbage bins, which tells me it's well maintained. My favorite thing about this beach is how clear the water is.

Great place to exercise, walk, cycle, rollerblade. It is peaceful and quiet an awesome picnic spot. There are benches by the waterside where you can just relax and take in the cool lake breeze. The Waterfront Trail goes through the park and you can cycle all the way to Toronto. If you are an avid birdwatcher you would not be disappointed and its gorgeous all year round.

Confederation Park offers a pleasant outdoor setting with picnic tables for those who enjoy bringing their own food. Despite the prohibition on BBQs, it's a great spot for a casual meal. The small playground is a hit with kids, though it often becomes overcrowded. The availability of free parking is a notable convenience. Overall, it's a decent choice for a family outing, but be prepared for busy play areas.

This is a little oasis in the middle of downtown Hamilton. One can enjoy some cool breeze in the summer months bouncing back from the trees and from the more than a century old fountain. Folks working in the near by offices can come sit and enjoy their lunch while listening to music from various ballad singers. I was there today enjoying the fall colors.

This is a great park in downtown but parking is difficult to find. There is a parking lot on Hughson but the road is closed (As of Sep 2020). You can find a paid parking in a lot near Hughson and King Street, the rates are cheap. There is also street parking on Hughson, which is what we did. Flying Squirrel is Canada's largest indoor trampoline park, with plenty of activities for families to enjoy. There are basketball dunk courts, trampoline dodgeball courts, foam pits, a laser maze and a ninja course.
Took my 4 year old girl there and she loved it. The place is very well maintained. But my favourite part is the friendly staff. My 4 year old is always talking with the team members and they always engage and make her feel welcome and engage with great and funny conversation. Would highly recommend this place for their young ones. They have a lot to offer and super friendly staff. Thanks again!

Flying Squirrel was a fantastic experience—an opportunity to jump to your heart’s content, with plenty of energy and laughter. The slushies were refreshing, and the arcade inside added an extra layer of fun that kept the day going even after jumping. If you can, I’d recommend going on non-weekend days so you’ll have more space to yourself. Also, keep your socks handy to avoid spending repeatedly on extras. What I really liked is that the location isn’t just about trampolines—it’s part of a bigger area that’s open to food and shopping experiences as well. I enjoy places like this that blend fun activities with opportunities to explore nearby restaurants or shops. It makes the whole outing feel more complete, and I’m always excited to discover spots that create those memorable, well-rounded experiences.

We had my daughter’s 4th birthday party at Flying Squirrel this past weekend, and I have mixed feelings. It’s definitely a great place for kids to burn off energy and have fun with their friends – they all had a blast jumping and playing. That said, as a party venue, there are some drawbacks. We had the first booking of the morning, but the floor already felt sticky and didn’t look clean. It was quite dirty! The party tables are very close together, which made it feel crowded and noisy – we could barely hear each other while sitting at the table. With the warm weather it was manageable, but I can’t imagine how tight it would feel in the winter with all the coats and jackets. I also wish there were more food options. The party package only offers pizza, and you are limited to bringing just fruit, veggie trays, and dessert. A little more flexibility here would be appreciated. Finally, the tip option at the end felt somewhat out of place for this kind of setup. Overall, Flying Squirrel is excellent for active play and kids’ enjoyment, but for parties it could use improvements in cleanliness, layout, and food variety.
Anna R — Google review
My son usually loves coming to Flying Squirrel — especially playing with the foam blocks and jumping on the trampolines. It’s always been a fun spot for him, and we’ve had good experiences in the past. However, during our most recent visit, I noticed something concerning. Right after we left, I saw three red bite-like marks on his left arm. I’m quite sure these came from Flying Squirrel, possibly from the foam blocks area. It was disappointing and concerning as a parent to see this happen, since cleanliness and safety are very important in places where kids play. I hope management can take a closer look at cleaning and sanitizing procedures for the foam pits and play areas to make sure this doesn’t happen to other children. We really like coming here, but this experience made me more cautious.

Adventure Village is a popular family-friendly destination located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Hamilton. It offers a wide range of activities including an 18-hole miniature golf course, batting cages, bumper cars, rock climbing, gemstone mining, and an arcade. The park spans across 3 acres with lush green hills and features fish ponds, rapids, and picnic pavilions.
A great Hamilton gem! Right near confederation park and wild waterworks, a fantastic place to stop in for some fun. Website is easy to navigate and there you’ll find all of their prices. It is wheelchair accessible but I don’t think any of the activities are. The bumper cars are fun, the rock climbing wall was a good challenge. Batting cages are great exercise and great for a fun group activity. The gemstone collection activity is fun. Only pour out a bit at a time or else it’ll go by way too fast. The stones you get a really cool! The prices for the activities or the unlimited play passes are super fair which is almost unheard of nowadays. Food wise the fries and chicken chucks are good. The funnel cake sticks taste classic and they have scoop ice cream. There’s lots of parking, some is shady spots and there’s good tree cover around so you’re not in the sun too long. I’d suggest a mix of bug spray and sunscreen. Give yourself about 4 hours to do a bit of everything and get some food! And I was lucky enough to meet “this guy” who I can only assume is the village mascot. A very well behaved little guy who has aged a bit since his display picture was taken, but he’s still a cutie!

Great spot for a day out. Originally went for mini golf but they have great deals for all kinds of activities. We ended up doing mini golf and the batting cage for $18 ($18 for - “2 pack” which is two of their activities- mini golf, rock climbing, crazy cars, batting cage, and so much more). Can buy tickets at the front and is super quick to do. We waited only a few minutes. But you can buy tickets ahead of time. Is mainly for kids but I went with my boyfriend and had a great time. We spent hours there and there’s so much to do. Mini golf does get very busy so there is a bit of a wait, but since it is mostly kids it moves fairly quick. You get 18 holes and we finished in about an hour. The course also has a great atmosphere and theme. There’s informative plaques at each hole which are fun to read while you wait for the person ahead to finish. It also looks so cute and very clean and well kept. We also stopped for some food. We didn’t have high expectations as it is fried food at a park, but the food was amazing. For $9 we got their Mac and cheese bites which were delicious (I recommend) and their news potato rings. The food came out super quick and was very fresh. The staff is all amazing. Every one was very helpful and sweet and get things moving quick. Super great way to spend a day out or with the kids. Highly recommend this place.

This place is amazing!!! So many different activities for all kids to enjoy. There is so much shade to help with the heat which helped a lot. It is also super close to the lakefront so you can make a day out of the visit. We can’t wait to return!

It’s not a bad little place for something to do. I believe mini put maybe the one that most folks goes for! The batting cages aren’t too bad either. However when I was finished with the helmet , and asked if he wanted it so he can clean. He said no they only clean at the end of the shift. Umm gross town. If I knew that from the start I would not have worn the helmet and use batting cage. Let’s talk about the food. Got me some fries. It was not busy. No one was there with an order. It was the middle of the week and overcast. So only had maybe 2-4 people. Mostly saw staff. The fires took 15 minutes plus and it was cold and overly salty when I got it. I asked for a refund as I did not have time to wait for another I had to leave. They refunded me and were very nice about it. It was not nice that they had the pressure washer going , loud noise and making everything wet. It was definitely ruining the ambiance of the place. Perhaps it was a one of ?

I remember coming as a kid. I wouldn't call this a museum but rather an imagination station. The fact that you get to visit using your library card is a plus. I had to laugh at how many people let kids roam and we're just focused on their cell phones though. Some parents really utilized their time there to interact with their kids. Today was Family day. I was surprised that they were open. The staff were so super accommodating. There was a games room with popcorn (specifically for today); a pretend kitchen area; Fisherman's wharf area as well as an outdoors themed room. We had a great time. My nephew has already talked about bringing is best friend next time. Lots of events coming up. What a great place to have a play date?!

They've renovated quite a bit and the rooms have changed. A lot more theme oriented in each room. The esthetic feel is really illustrated throughout the facility. It has been disappointing to spend less than an hour there just to be told they are closing. (They advertise that they close at 330pm but I don't think those hours are accurate). Regardless, the short hours and closed off sections are disappointing.

Fifty Point Conservation Area, situated on the shores of Lake Ontario in Stoney Creek, offers a picturesque setting with its lakefront views, marina facilities, and opportunities for outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming. The park boasts a 312-slip docking space that welcomes boaters and is known for having one of the warmest and cleanest beaches on western Lake Ontario. Additionally, visitors can enjoy family camping and picnics in this 80-hectare park.
Conservative Park offers a serene escape into nature with well-maintained trails and picturesque landscapes. The park's emphasis on preserving natural beauty aligns with conservative values. However, some may find limited amenities compared to larger parks. Overall, it provides a tranquil setting for those seeking a quieter outdoor experience."

Not bad, nice medium sized beach with plentiful (paid) parking. It gets super busy during weekends though so if you're after a secluded place this is not it. A minor issue, many boats are often parked very close to the shore which makes the whole plaxe5 even more crowded.
Mike K — Google review
Quaint, with trails for running, cycling or just a stroll with an impressive marina nestled amongst campgrounds along the shores of Lake Ontario. Perfect for a flat 10-15k run with optional refreshments at the marina restaurant. Beach areas have pavilions, picnic areas & barbecues all within proximity of parking & facilities. Noted quite a few bird watches with set look outs provided. Lovely off season for runs, strolls or just sweet solitude. Located in subdivision but still has that pure conservation ambience!

This is our first time at this park campground. It's huge! There's a beach area, a boat docking area, and a marina restaurants. It's really clean and quiet. We loved it! The bathroom, laundry room, and shower stalls were all clean and well-kept. We'll definitely be coming back!
Erica Y — Google review
This is going to be detailed review that might answer your questions! You would need to pay an entrance fee to visit the park (car + amount of people in the car). There is a restaurant, a beach, a pet-friendly beach, a boat launch, a gas dock, a marina, a camping area (for trailers), and lots of picnic areas along with 5 washrooms (some with showers) located around the park. The park gets really busy on the weekends, meaning the picnic tables are first come, first serve. Lots of parking spaces located at the beach. The beach gate access #1 is CLOSED on the weekends but OPENED on the weekdays in the summer - this is for safety reasons, however this would mean that it is not friendly for accessibility. Though, there are still accessible parking spots. BBQ is allowed only at picnic areas. The washrooms are cleaned and restocked throughout the day, though the beach gets messier than usual on the weekends. You can wash the sand off your feet behind the men’s beach washroom. There are no showers in the beach washrooms, however, there are showers at the campgrounds. The Winona pavilion need to be rented out in order to use, or you’ll get kicked out - there are clean porta potties nearby. Fishing is not allowed on the marina dock. You can fish in the pond. Biking/skating is not allowed on the wooden parts of the dock. If you’d like a picnic table moved, you may do so at your own risk. Lastly, CAUTION - there’s a lot of ticks in tall grasses so be aware. This is all I can think of right now, I will edit if there are any more future questions! Also, please give this a like so others will see! Thank you!

A bit costly to get in here compared to other national and provincial parks but well worth it of you plan on spending the day here. Lots to do here especially for boaters. Two small trails here, one that leads to a beach area and one to a secluded area where you can see Toronto in the distance. Park is really clean and well maintained. Overall it's a nice location to spend a few hours, where you get away from the city and relax.
Sev N — Google review
We love the park, nice pond to fish in for kids, nice walking trailer by Lake Ontario which takes you to the Marina. The sites are a good size for travel trailers and extra large sites for fifth wheels. You can hear the QEW highway like a white noise. The only downside is there are no campfires allowed unless it’s a propane fire pit.
Natalie E — Google review
Very beautiful place. Nice and clean and Nice trails , clean beach's for you and area for your dog. We spent a weekend there and really loved it. A really trust worthy park. We forgot our cell phone on the picnic table and was away for little over two hours, Our cell was still sitting in same place. We will be spending a lot more time there.

Nice park for stroll around. Good place for kids. There is missing some place like a cafe or bistro. You can watch some boats and water scooters as well. Nearby is a small beach but swimming there is not allowed due to not good water condition. This park has public parking lot and it is close to GO train station.

This place has so much serenity. It was quite even though there was quite a few people out. It has a great view. Clean and great place to take a stroll. There were no bugs! Like none. No midges. No mosquitoes. Unlike the Toronto Beaches. There was a cute play area for the children to keep busy. Highly recommend to come and enjoy the views and the sunset!

If you're on the hunt for a unique and enriching zoological adventure, look no further than Little Rays Reptile Zoo and Nature Centre in Hamilton. This charming venue offers an engaging blend of entertainment and education through hands-on displays and captivating feeding demonstrations that run throughout the day. Visitors can embark on 90-minute guided tours, where they’ll have the chance to interact with various mammals and reptiles up close.
The staff here are all very friendly and seem to all really enjoy what they are doing. Most of the animals/reptiles here rescues. Either as a pet once upon a time or other sources. If the staff cannot answer your question they will happily look it up There are shows they do that you could pet and see some animals up close. Very interactive. Not a very large place. You could finish the whole place in under an hour. The interactive show takes the longest. I didn’t see a changing table in the bathroom . But I also didn’t ask if there is one or not in a different place.
Kimberley D — Google review
This was a great day for the kids! The staff were very knowledgeable about the animals and there were shows every 10-15 minutes which was perfect because the kids were not getting bored or antsy waiting. We got to see and touch lizards, armadillos, and snakes the day that we went. It was a cool experience and it was not busy so we did not have to wait in line and got to see all the animals in record time! Would definitely recommend!!!
Roisin D — Google review
SHOUT OUT TO VEE! You’re an incredible human and amazing at your job. So kind, patient with the millions of questions my nephews gave you, I still can’t believe the experience we had today. You absolutely made our day and we can’t wait to come back to visit you specifically as well as the animals. Such an experience and value that came for the I would say modest price for the tour of the place too. Would recommend to anyone who wants to see animals and the knowledge is an incredible bonus in my opinion. Went to each animal enclosure one by one. I still can’t believe all the information I learned and I’m an adult. You guys also do such wonderful work taking these animals in and caring for them. I can’t say enough good things. Keep up the phenomenal work and look forward to visiting in the future. Thank you for hosting us today and teaching us so much. P.S. you guys also choose the best animal names.
Jessica B — Google review
It was smaller than I was expecting, but there was a really neat variety of animals. My favorites were the armadillo & owl. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. The kids had a lot of fun, especially when they got to meet some of the animals and were able to pet them.
Oddie — Google review
Took a 75 minute drive to visit the zoo. It's pretty small, smaller than expected. The show was pretty good though. It runs quite frequently from what I understand. Kids have the opportunity to pet the animals during the show. Don't expect to spend more than an hour there. The stuffies were on sale, making them reasonably priced. $30 regular price for medium size.
Jeff T — Google review
Love this place! What an experience. It was neat to see the different species of animals. We enjoyed the show and the ability to pet some of the animals. I personally enjoyed the hognose snake, the sloth, and the turtle. The mens bathroom was clogged, and it wasn't as clean as I'd hoped. However the staff were more than friendly and very welcoming to our group. It is a great show for adults, kids, and in between.
David R — Google review
Great place to visit with the family. Lots of reptiles and spiders to check out. The live shows are fantastic and they happen quite often, so you can catch a few during your visit and they do a great job at mixing up the critters and informing you about them. Will definitely go again.
Nathan S — Google review
We did the combo tour with our work family - a group of 11 adults and 3 kids - to celebrate 3 birthdays. If I could rate 12 stars, I would. I'm going to try to frame this review in a helpful way to anyone interested/looking into booking this experience/venue! Booking Host: Candace (personal, prompt, helpful) Tour Guide: Alyssa (has her own section in this review) Recommendation for Day of | Be prepared to be dressed for super hot weather, bring water. It's extremely hot and humid inside the zoo. The Animals | Many kinds of snakes (including giant pythons), crocodile, alligator, many different kinds of lizards, owl, turtles, spiders (I skipped this part ;)), and of course - the incredible SLOTHS Olive (F) and Wicket (M). This paragraph doesn't begin to measure how amazing it was to see and learn about these creatures live. Tour Experience with Alyssa | I have to just say the most resounding THANK YOU to our guide, Alyssa. She did a tremendous job from start to finish in sharing about herself, her experiences, in educating us about every single animal (including taking the ones out that she could), ensuring just the right amount of interaction for those who wanted to participate, adding a beautiful touch of fun and laughter with humour. What I am most grateful for is that Alyssa did this combo tour with our entire group (which I don’t doubt was a feat in itself) of 14, without skipping a beat. Thank you so much, Alyssa! Sloth Experience | Unreal. We had a huge group (max recommended participants is 6), so we were prepared with participant prioritization (aka kids and birthday guests). Alyssa gave us a head's up at the start that the sloths were not too keen on guests that day which we at first were disappointed by - but of course we understood completely in prioritizing the animals and their safety/comfortability. In spite of - an incredible experience - and they did come around; we were able to feed them, take some great photos, and even touch them. Thank you to this amazing facility!

Went to Waterdown Ribfest for the music and it was excellent! The cost of the ribs were kind of outlandish, but I just didn't get any. Otherwise, it all seemed very well done and the volunteers were really good......friendly and helpful. The next day, I took my grandson back for the rides and he LOVED it. The rides were expensive too but I guess they all are now.

Whether you're sunbathing, swimming, or simply enjoying the stunning sunset views, this beach offers everything you could ask for. It's a must-visit destination for anyone looking to unwind and soak in the natural beauty of the coastline.

Visited the conservation park recently and had a good time! The entrance fee is very $14.50 for the driver and car parking, plus an additional $5 per person in the car. The park offers a variety of amenities, including nice picnic areas, a splash pad, and a small playground. It's a great spot for a family BBQ, as there are designated areas for grilling. One of the highlights was the obstacle course, which requires an additional ticket but is definitely worth it. It's a fun challenge for both kids and adults!

Did the Mud Girl Run here in June. The perfect spot for it. With mostly flat ground. They utilized the flat land, forest and water. 250 acre lake. I hope they do another 5km event here! Have also been here for work deliveries and picnics. Such an easy place to get to. Roads are easily accessible and easy to navigate. Many picnic areas. Lots of parking. Good fishing. Will be back for sure!

Not the best place for a hot Sunday if you are looking for a peaceful time. Hundreds of vehicles and many parked on the greens because of overcrowding. Groups were just 20 feet apart. Lineups in the washrooms and very few masks in sight. The portable that i used had run out of sanitizer. One star for the management of the place.

Great spot - my toddler loves Binbrook! Pros: - nice sand, well-maintained beach - awesome splashpad and playground - lots of green space for kiddos to play - easy parking and isn’t overly busy during the week Things to know: - $8pp, which can add up if you have a group of people - not a huge amount of shade - can be busy over the weekend

Jungle Hut Entertainment is a great place to have a child's birthday party. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are perfect. The kids all had a blast, and the cost of admission was very reasonable.
My kids really love this place. It's generally very quiet and has both trampolines and a climbing structure, which is best of both worlds. Does it feel as clean/new as some of the other places? No. But i also can sit down and see/hear my kid from most any spot and very rarely hear loud screaming. I don't ever leave here being too overstimulated, so a win win
Justina M — Google review
We visited Jungle Hut indoor playground today and were shocked by the unsafe conditions. Due to a major fire in the neighboring property, the air quality inside was extremely poor—so bad that we started feeling dizzy and nauseous within minutes. Despite this, the business remained open, showing no concern for the health and safety of children and parents. When we spoke to the employees, they simply sprayed air freshener instead of addressing the serious air quality issue. Even worse, they refused to issue a refund when we had to leave because we were feeling unwell. This is completely unacceptable. A family-friendly business should prioritize safety, not profits. Until the air quality improves, this place should not be operating. I strongly advise others to stay away for now.

My daughter and I LOVE this place!!! We've been back several times just over the past few weeks since there is so much to do and so much to learn. Right from the start Joanna made us feel completely welcome and honestly I think my daughter made an awesome new friend! Nothing but great things to say about Joanna and the Jungle Hut!
Jon H — Google review
18.50$ for a 2 year old is just too expensive. The place is in poor condition, air quality was terrible and not well cleaned.. I have to imagine inflation and skyrocketing minimum wage has forced them to hike their prices. There doesnt appear to be regular upkeep, lots of crushed balls, broken saftey netting and every couch is so damaged, it looks like ones you'd find on the side of the road.
TJ — Google review
Held my daughters third birthday party here over the weekend and it was perfect! The tables and chairs for the littles were wonderful and the kids loved the playground and trampoline area. Rock climbing walls and separate play area for the really young kids make this spot a good choice for all ages. They took care of the cleaning and even offered to help move things out to the car when we were done. Would definitely recommend for your childs birthday party.
Katie M — Google review
Not recommended at all. The ventilation and air quality were extremely poor. During our visit, the air conditioning was not working, making it uncomfortably hot inside. What was more disappointing is that we were not informed about the AC issue at the time of check-in. Overall, a very unpleasant experience.
Hiral J — Google review
This is relatively new indoor playground and I'm glad we found it. The owner is very nice and so are the staff. They have trampolines, which many other indoor playgrounds don't; although it costs a bit extra. $13 ish for trampoline and rest of playground access, seems very fair, parents are free. There is a small kid zone and also some virtual swing/kick/throw games for $2/game. These games are also somewhat unique among play centres. There is also some food and drinks, nothing fancy but it's not a restaurant so no reason to complain. There are tons of tables to sit and have a snack. (Seems like the place used to be a banquet hall?) The large three level climbing maze is fun and clean, there is a ball pit and plenty of places to "hide". Maybe coming here many times could get boring but definitely worth keeping this place on your indoor playgrounds list as this is a great place to spend a few hours with the kids. I sincerely wish for them to success and stay open for many years!
Zoltan W — Google review
Personnel was very helpful. We spent there couple hours. Food was acceptable, they should clean tables more often, but I can't say, they are going around and pay attention to every kid. Cheap entrance under 4y 12.50$. +4 16.50$ and you can bring your own drinks.
