French restaurant
The French is a stylish and sophisticated French bistro located on King William street in Hamilton. It is part of the Equal Parts Hospitality group, known for its elegant restaurants such as Aberdeen Tavern and Diplomat. The restaurant offers a modern twist on fine dining with classic French dishes like escargots, steak-frites, and duck confit. Their prix fixe brunch menu is particularly popular, featuring options like smoked salmon toast and duck waffles.
I just had the pleasure of dining at this charming French bistro with 2 of my girlfriends. The food was nothing short of incredible—each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with stunning interiors that perfectly complemented the French dining experience.

One of my favourite restaurants in downtown Hamilton. Never had a bad experience ever. Amazing lunch spot and fantastic dinner as well. We had an app, some drinks, great entrees and all 3 desserts offered. No complaints and the staff is always friendly and inviting. An absolute absolute must when in downtown. Thank you for always giving us a great experience.
Alex J — Google review
It has a very cozy and peaceful atmosphere, without loud music. The staff are very kind and friendly. We ordered a burger, ricotta gnocchi, and the maison salad. The salad tasted amazing, and the burger had a unique and delicious flavor.
Erfan B — Google review
The French is my idea of a perfect brunch. Sunlit bistro vibe, warm service, and plates that hit every note—silky eggs Benedict with a bright hollandaise, insanely flaky croissants, and brioche French toast that’s pure comfort. Coffee is excellent (hello, second latte), and the mimosas don’t skimp. Everything feels thoughtful without being fussy, and the pacing lets you linger and catch up. If you’re looking for a relaxed, polished brunch that tastes as good as it looks, this is the spot.
Jianshu C — Google review
Nestled in the heart of Hamilton, this restaurant offered us a definite 5-star experience from the food, warm interior decor and friendly service. I do believe there are fair vegetarian options here specifically the ricotta gnocchi and the potato rosti. Price is good too. Our meal for two entrées was priced at an incredibly reasonable $50 which, felt like an absolute steal given the caliber. The gnocchi, is a must try. Our waitress told us this is a restaurant staple and remained on the menu for the last 10 years. The texture every piece was perfectly pillowy, moist and glazed in an intense but also savour truffle sauce. I loved the green breadcrumb topping added. The shavings of sharp, fresh Parmesan lent a final flourish, tying every element together in a crescendo of flavor. Without hesitation, I can say this was the best gnocchi I have ever tasted. The potato rösti was a visually stunning dish too. The base was a crisp, golden potato patty with a soft center, perched atop a delicate leek sauce that provided a subtle sweetness. The accompanying root vegetables—vibrant and tender—added both color and complexity to the plate. Service was great too, our dishes arrived swiftly. Each plate was a work of art, each bite a testament to the kitchen’s prowess. For those seeking an elevated dining experience without the pretense or exorbitant price tag, The French is an undeniable gem. We left already planning our return for brunch and lunch.

Got the summer eats special and it was fantastic. The croquettes were delightful and the tenderloin was divine. The way all the flavors blended together was absolutely masterful.
William Y — Google review
We celebrated a family gathering at The French this past Sunday and had a wonderful experience. The food was a solid 8/10, the service was a perfect 10/10, and the atmosphere was cozy and intimate—ideal for conversation. I usually take photos of all our dishes, but I was too hungry this time and only managed to snap a few pictures of dessert! The crème brûlée was absolutely top tier, while the carrot cake was just okay. For dinner, we ordered the croquettes, oysters, striploin, flat iron steak, burger, and gnocchi. Surprisingly, the burger and flat iron were my favourites—you could really tell they were thoughtfully marinated and cooked to tender perfection. Typically I would rate the food 10/10 but for the price point I thought it could’ve been better. A special shoutout to our server, Maddie, who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the menu, making our evening even more enjoyable. Thank you again—we’ll definitely be back!

My daughter , 18 month old grandson and newborn grand daughter , and myself had lunch. The service from Victoria was outstanding. She was very attentive and ensured my grandson got his Frites first so he didn't have to wait and that one was one of the wonderful thoughtful suggestions she had to make our lunch such a pleasure and memorable. Nothing was a problem and nothing we requested was denied. We were accommodated to the max! My daughter was going to clean up under the table as it was a mess from my little grandson and she insisted she could do that without any hesitation. The food was delicious and fresh and home made ; will definitely be back ! There are a lot of restaurants in the area and I really wonder if the could even come close to the food and service!!

Soup restaurant
The Burnt Tongue is a popular counter-serve eatery known for its ever-changing selection of high-quality soups and other comfort foods. Featured on the Food Network's 'You Gotta Eat Here,' this spot has gained a cult-like following with its small-batch soup recipes, offering over 3,000 different soups to date.
Cozy place with a long list of soup and sandwich choices. A rare place with almost 8 soup options. Soups were delicious and come with toppings and sides. The soups came in 3 sizes ranging from 6-10 dollars. Sandwiches were between 4-6 dollars for a half sandwich. The prices are a little high but the food was delicious. Would recommend stopping by.
E. C — Google review
Loved the whole vibe! Didn't burn out tongues lol the coup was awesome, wasn't kidding about it being creamy. Grilled cheese was also a classic but didn't get a picture of it. Nailed it though, super crispy.

“I get the clean spoon award.” “And i get the clean fork award.” [welllll… it’s the Clean Bowl and Clean Plate awards, but close enough.] First time visit but we’ll gladly come back. Fair prices, nice options and good portions. Small soup and half sandwich make a good lunch meal. Tomato & Tortellini soup was tasty, Tarragon Chicken Salad was good (not “great”, but I’m a chicken salad snob). Give any of their locations a try; you won’t be disappointed. “Tell ‘em Hal n’ Jack sent you.” “They won’t know what it means but tell ‘em anyway.” 🐮🐮 😉
CJ W — Google review
I was hesitant about this place at first but still decided to give it a try. We ordered the Moroccan soup and the peanut chicken soup and it was absolutely incredible! Both soups had their distinct flavours which was simply amazing. The french oinion grilled cheese was a great pairing with both soups. 😋🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Krystal S — Google review
Definitely returning just because the menu looks fantastic, there's lots of items my fiancé and I would like to try! We shared the Cheesey Crab Fries which are the most expensive thing off the menu and they were really tasty, would definitely get them again but next time we really wanna try the Bangkok Fries. Our sandwiches were decent. The bread is very good and toasted perfectly but our only complaint is that we both think they should have more filling. I got the Buffalo Chicken and as tasty as it was it could used more chicken and cheese. My fiancé got the Butternut Squash sandwich and that was very tasty as well but again coulda used just a little bit more. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but the place is very tiny and it was very busy and crowded when were there. Again, will absolutely be coming back to try more including the soups and salads which seem to be highly praised. Would recommend stopping here for a bite to go if you are in the area!

I never had that kind of disrespectful service. I was waiting more than 10 min with 3 year old kid and 10 month old. No one approached saying "give us a min or two" I was just simply standing beside the cash waiting to order At least say something let me know you did see me and finish to do your staff. Too bad. I don't know where the 4.6* came from.
Rachmiil — Google review
We had the French Onion Sandwich with an order of regular fries. The sandwich was delicious! Loved the caramelized onions and cheese. The fries were plentiful. I thought we had made a mistake and ordered a large instead of a regular, the serving of fries was so large. The restaurant seemed well taken care of. The bulletin board displayed art created by the staff. Recommended!
Charles W — Google review
I cant remember what the name of this soup was... tortellini tomato soup?? With a side of grilled cheese. Oh man.. you guys, this soup combined with the grilled cheese will make your eyes roll to the back of your head. It’s so damn good. I would drive all the way back there just to have it again. Well done burnt tongue well done. The flavours were so great together and it wasn’t too tart or sweet or salty.. it was just right in every way possible. I actually left then went back to buy some to take home to #toronto but they ran out in the half hour that passed!! Must be a patron favourite? Definitely a stop on the way to Niagara Falls from now on for me!

Italian restaurant
Born & Raised is a lively restaurant in Hamilton, owned by Vittorio Colacitti, a former contestant on Top Chef Canada. The eatery pays tribute to his Italian roots and offers a mix of Italian and Canadian cuisine. Situated in the James North neighborhood, it's an ideal spot for dinner after exploring nearby art galleries. The menu showcases locally sourced ingredients from the Niagara Peninsula and features wood-fired pizza, flavorful pastas, and even Vittorio's grandmother's meatball recipe.
My wife and I stopped in for a quick visit on our self-guided oyster tour….very glad we did! As a wannabe oyster connoisseur, I can easily say the oysters they served were amongst the best I’ve ever had. The waiter told me the name but unfortunately, the cocktails made me forget. The service and the vibe were great, as were the cocktails. We must come back for dinner.
Mike T — Google review
Been here many times and always have a great experience. The service and staff are phenomenal. Our food was ready very quickly. The food is unreal, using high quality ingredients and you can tell real effort and planning goes into it. Our favourite restaurant in Hamilton.
Savannah O — Google review
Born & Raised on James Street North is a true gem in Hamilton’s dining scene. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and full of energy perfect for date night or a night out with friends. Wouldn’t really say it’s a family friendly environment. It is quite loud/busy something to consider depending on the type of evening you’re looking for. We started with fresh oysters that were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The cocktail list was balanced, creative, and well-crafted. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked to absolute perfection—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and plated with care. The wood-fired pizzas and handmade pastas looked incredible—definitely on my list for next time. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the kitchen takes real pride in every dish. If you’re looking for restaurants in Hamilton with an elevated Italian-inspired cuisine with a cool, downtown vibe, Born & Raised absolutely delivers.
Amber E — Google review
Had a great time, decor was awesome. Service, drinks and food were all great with pretty reasonable pricing. The Burrata Di Puglia starter really stood out. Will definitely return.
M T — Google review
I went out for dinner with my partner and in-laws and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We all raved about how fantastic they were and how the atmosphere makes it feel like you are actually eating a meal in Italy. The staff were also so friendly as they made you feel like you were part of the family. Highly recommend for some authentic Italian cuisine!
Mia H — Google review
Pizza was good service was horrible. There was maybe 10 people max in the place took almost 15 min to get our drinks which weren’t made right and for $18 a drink I don’t want my mint dropped off at the table later for me to make it myself lol. Forgotten dips, slow workers, idk man I’ve been here before but the last 2 times the servers n bartenders really made the experience not worth going anymore. Save yourself some money plenty of places downtown with much better service. $10 pizza on Sunday is cool tho.
Kyle H — Google review
As the New York Italians say: "When it's right, it's right," and this place gets it right. Born And Raised is such a fantastic spot. The only regret I have with this place is the fact that my wife and I waited two years before we came back. We were were worried that after two years the first time we were there was so awesome, with all the things that could change we wondered if it would still be good. Well, it was. We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary and we were so happy to be at Born And Raised again. The menu doesn't miss a beat. We started out with a couple of appetizers, steak tartare, and burrata done in a seasonal style with butternut squash. I thought it an odd combination but it was so amazingly good. Then our mains, I had the rigatoni with meatballs, and as a special feature item my wife had tagliatelle with braised short rib. I am always critical of Italian food given that my grandmother, mother, stepmother, wife, and mother-in-law are masters at it, but let me tell you their rigatoni with meatballs is the real deal. The sauce is amazing, pasta cooked perfectly, and meatballs were so delicious with every bite. The server was even cool about getting me some extra bread to clean up that sauce with which was an extra treat. I was able to beg for a couple of fork fulls from my wife for the tagliatelle with braised short rib, and it was so delicious. Oh yeah, and one other thing, in both cases the portions were fantastic. None of this two forkfuls thing for presentation, it tastes good, you're there to eat and eat well, and they deliver. They vibe in the place is very cool noise levels are fair, and they were playing some cool old school music when we went. All of the staff were friendly, and attentive always checking in. Can I recommend that for dessert you order their pecan pie. It's so amazingly delicious, as is the scoop of vanilla ice cream they dolloped on there. Yeah, I may have had to have put in some extra time at the gym the next day, but that kind of eating gave me high I rarely get in restaurants, and I wish the same for all of you that take this recommendation to heart. Well done to the staff of Born And Raised, and I promise it will NOT be another two years before we are back again.

Restaurant
Brothers Grimm Bistro, located in Hamilton's International Village, offers a unique and captivating atmosphere. Housed in the underground space formerly occupied by the historic Sandbar Tavern, this restaurant boasts an awe-inspiring old-world aesthetic and dim lighting that truly transports diners. With a focus on elevated Euro fusion cuisine, Brothers Grimm presents a diverse menu featuring a wide range of dishes. Additionally, their extensive selection of wines and local beers complement the dining experience.
My fiancée and I came here to celebrate our first month of being engaged, and it was the perfect spot for a special night out! The ambiance is beautiful—quiet, calm, and it honestly felt like we were transported to Europe. Our server (I wish I had caught her name!) was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly and we had a wonderful experience. We ordered the surf & turf, and the steak was cooked to perfection—exactly how we like it. As a sweet surprise, they even brought out a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate! Highly recommend this place for a romantic evening or any special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!
Gely F — Google review
I ordered the steak with a side of fries (Costco fries lol) in the first picture as medium rare, but what I received was completely rare—cold in the center and barely seared. I sent it back, hoping for a properly cooked steak, only to receive the exact same thing. No difference. Still rare, stinky, and gross. If that wasn’t bad enough, the flavour was awful—not a single grain of salt or seasoning. The smell? Weird and off-putting. The cut itself was terrible, and at the price they’re charging, it’s honestly shocking. I wouldn’t even take the leftovers home to feed to my dogs—that’s how bad it was. To make things worse, when I complained, I noticed the chef staring at me from the kitchen, making a very unpleasant face. 0/10 experience from the peanut gallery. The only good thing about my experience was the service. Our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and very apologetic about the whole situation. But when it comes to the food, especially the steak? Absolutely unacceptable. If you’re looking for a quality steak in Hamilton or just generally good food, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else!!!

Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! They accommodated our large group with no notice and our server Erica was awesome! She’s great with recommending the best things (the wild game pie was phenomenal). Thank you so much Erica, the chef, and all of the staff that made our evening possible! After we left one of the staff even ran 2 blocks to find us because my colleague forgot her sunglasses, it was so sweet of her. I will most definitely return!

My daughter's birthday dinner at Brothers Grim was an absolute triumph! The restaurant's unique atmosphere created a truly magical setting for our celebration. The staff, particularly our server Erica, were incredibly attentive and made us feel so welcome. The owner's warm hospitality added a personal touch that truly elevated the experience. From the delicious food to the impeccable service, everything about our evening at Brothers Grim was top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or simply a delightful night out. Thank you to the entire Brothers Grim team for making my daughter's birthday so memorable!

Went for a birthday dinner here and everything was amazing. It was our first visit but I’ve heard about how good this place was from friends. It did not disappoint, service was great (Thank you Faith!), the food was amazing and everything tasted so fresh and they have a very well put together and cohesive menu. The overall experience was wonderful, they even placed a little decoration on the table since they knew it was a birthday celebration and offer a free dessert for special occasions. We heard they might be stopping dinner services which is such a shame as everything was so delicious. Amazing job to everyone involved in making this place run!
Serenity Y — Google review
Ambiance! This place has ambiance! Decided to visit as a group of six, and it did not disappoint. Walk down the stairs to the cellar to be greeted by a wonderful musician who played for the whole time we were there. Beautiful lighting in a darker cellar experience, it was super cozy. The food was tremendous, and super quick. The food is a little pricey, but a lot of it is made on premises. We had the steak frites du fromage and the wild game sausage, both were unbelievable. Other than being asked to leave right at the two hour mark, ( I understand this is what restaurants have to do to keep other reservations on time). Other than that, Everything was fantastic.
L R — Google review
This was my second visit to Brother Grimm, and I was not disappointed! Maria was a lovely and attentive server; she made our experience a 12/10! The food was delicious, but my only minor critique would be that the portions are a little small. BUTT grab a a couple apps and share some mains and you’ll be satisfied! Will for sure be returning. <3

First time at this place on Saturday night for dinner with my family. The service was average trending to be slow. The food was good with some "wild game" options. The noise level at the place is too high. I found the tables too small making them too tight for the glasses, water bottle, plates, menus, etc. The atmosphere in general is nice. I found the prices a bit in the high side.

Brunch restaurant
Coffee shop
Saint James is a cozy and trendy cafe located on James North, offering a variety of coffee drinks, breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, and pasta. Despite its small size, the cafe is extremely popular and known for its excellent coffee and unique brunch menu. The Drive-Thru breakfast sandwich is a standout item with house sausage patty, American cheese, homemade hash brown, fried egg, and chili mayo on an English muffin.
Saint James is a very inviting space!! It's a great brunch spot for the weekend and to visit with friends. We came during lunch time, around 1 pm, and it was packed with excited customers! Understandably so, since it was Around The Bay race weekend. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly and happily by staff (didn't get her name, it was a woman with brown hair). While waiting, they have their menus attached to clipboards hung on the wall, which was so useful! Loved that the kitchen was open concept. We had the cinnamon roll scone, Malibu breakfast sandwiches, and pancake stacks of the week (cherry). Everything tasted delicious and so fresh!! As for space, it's a little bit tight, but it's all good. The atmosphere is wonderful and you can tell how lively it is as soon as you enter! Can smell the delicious food from inside!!
Mikee L — Google review
If you’re in Hamilton and looking for a spot that balances comfort, creativity, and quality, Saint James is an easy recommendation. We stopped in recently and were impressed from start to finish. I ordered The Gatsby, and it truly lived up to its name. The sandwich was generous and beautifully balanced – layers of hearty ingredients with just the right mix of textures, held together by perfectly toasted croissant . Each bite felt indulgent yet thoughtful, not heavy but deeply satisfying. The Smoked Salmon and Eggs dish was equally memorable. The salmon was silky and fresh, paired elegantly with eggs that were cooked just right. The combination had a nice balance of richness and brightness, making it feel both nourishing and refined. To round things out, we had a latte that was smooth, creamy, and well-crafted – clearly made with care. It paired perfectly with the meal and gave the whole experience a warm, inviting finish. The atmosphere at Saint James adds to the charm: cozy, modern, and welcoming without being fussy. Service was attentive but relaxed, which made us feel at ease. Overall, Saint James delivers a standout brunch experience in Hamilton. The food is creative yet grounded, the coffee is top-notch, and the vibe is exactly what you’d hope for in a neighborhood favorite. Definitely worth a return visit.

I recently dined at a wonderful Syrian restaurant that truly impressed me with its exceptional quality. The food was not only simple but incredibly delicious, showcasing authentic flavors with every bite. The service was equally remarkable, exuding warmth and generosity that made the experience truly special. The staff's genuine care and hospitality added a personal touch that complemented the excellent meal perfectly. If you're looking for a place where the food and service come together seamlessly, this restaurant is a must-visit. And don’t forget to try their unique Kebbeh, grape leaves and cabbage leaves stuffed with the finest ingredients, and the most important drink to try and enjoy it is the magical tea

What a kind server and chef. My bf took me here for lunch, we had chicken kabob platter and labneh falafel sandwiches. Beautiful place, they also gave us some tea and dessert! Very sweet experience. The food was really REALLY good.

Tomah is, without a doubt, one of my absolute favourite restaurants! I’ve been coming back for a while now, and having tried so many dishes, we can confidently say that everything is consistently excellent. The quality is outstanding and the flavours are so fresh and authentic. Stepping inside, you're immediately transported by the beautiful and authentic Syrian decor and seating. The space is large and inviting, creating a truly unique and immersive atmosphere that makes the dining experience even more special. I always forget to take photos here because I’m having such a good time, but the beautifully arranged stuffed grape leaves with their tangy lemon slices and the perfectly crispy golden spring rolls are just a glimpse into the deliciousness they serve. Ive had so many meals here and have NEVER been disappointed. What truly makes this place a gem is the staff. They are all so incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they genuinely make every visit a delightful experience. Tomah is a must-try for anyone looking for phenomenal Syrian food in a warm and charming setting!

I felt like I was a guest in someone's home. It reminded me of what dining out could be. The server was caring, helpful, and present. I didn't feel like an inconvenience. I wish that I took pictures of my food to share with you, but it was so delicious that not a moment was spared diving in. I've included photos of our desserts.

I go to Tomah atleast 2-3 times a month so not sure how I haven’t left a review yet but hands down one of the best restaurants in Hamilton and across the GTHA! The food is DELICIOUS - so flavourful and homey while also being so unique to what Tomah offers. My go to order is the shawafel, for when you can’t decide between the chicken or falafel, and i’ve become a huge fan of the beef spring rolls (although the cheese ones are amazing too!) The serving sizes are great so one meal is usually enough for me and my partner. Try the stuffed grape leaves as well, and the baklava is truly the best you’ll ever have. I love to cook but for days when I want to eat out but still feel like i’m eating a hearty, nutritious, delicious meal, I’ll always get Tomah 😁!

We came here last week for dinner and we loved it! They gave us complementary red tea which was really good. We orders mixed beef and chicken Shwarma and it tasted amazing anf our favourite was the falafel. They have the best falafel for sure. The service was very friendly and polite and the quantity was generous and reasonable prices.. we really liked the atmosphere as well it is cozy and nice. We will definitely come back and try more items.

We had the maqloubeh and the supreme sandwich meal as well as the best falafels to date (not pictured). The food was very fresh and flavourful. Even our picky eaters enjoyed the meal which was a wonderful surprise!

I was staying the night in Hamilton and came here as it was a few blocks from where I was staying. I had a fantastic meal, from the tea they serve when you're seated to the freshly made chicken shawarma plate. And probably some of the best french fries I've ever had anywhere. I got kunfa with pistachios to go and that was great as well.

Tiki bar
Pizza restaurant
Maipai is a hidden gem located on Barton Street, offering a unique experience with its tiki bar ambiance and delightful Hawaiian-inspired decor. The establishment is renowned for its Detroit-style pizza, which features a thick rectangular crust and creative toppings such as pickles and bacon ranch. In addition to their fun cocktail selection, Maipai also caters to various dietary preferences by providing vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Loved the little experience in the little bar tucked away in a street corner. Its almost easy to miss. Its a hole in the wall. Surprised that the bartender didn't have any Malibu coconut rum. It's a Tiki bar and you don't have coconut rum???? Pizza was good though it's getting pretty common to find that style of pizza in Toronto.
G G — Google review
It was a fantastic experience! The pies were delicious, and I absolutely loved the ‘Dou You Wanna’ – such a unique treat. Our server, Brooke, was incredible. She was friendly, attentive, and made our time there even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

MaiPai Hamilton is hands down one of my favorite pizza spots! The pizzas are perfectly cooked with a crisp, golden crust, fresh toppings, and flavorful sauce. Each slice is loaded with quality ingredients, and the combinations are creative without being over the top. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making every visit a great experience. The atmosphere is casual and fun, perfect for dinner with friends, or a night out. If you love pizza that’s both delicious and thoughtfully made, MaiPai is a must-visit in Hamilton!

Stopped by for the first time today and had a great experience. I got the pickle pizza and parm fries to share with my boyfriend and both were delicious, highly recommend. Menu says most people are full after 2 slices, and that’s definitely true! Servers are friendly and attentive, drinks are strong! 10/10
Olivia R — Google review
Tucked away in Hamilton, Maipai brings a slice of the islands to the city—with a vibe as chill as the tropics and pizzas that are nothing short of extraordinary. The Hawaiian-inspired atmosphere sets the tone: vibrant, laid-back, and full of good energy. You’ll need to prebook (word travels fast about food this good), but it’s absolutely worth it. Each pizza is handcrafted perfection—crispy, flavorful, and made with ingredients that sing of freshness and care. The staff bring that same island warmth to every interaction. If I were the owners, I’d never sacrifice quality for quantity—because right now, Maipai isn’t just doing it right, they’re doing it brilliantly.

Love garlic? What about Garlic Garlic Garlic!?! 🧄 🧛🏻‍♂️⚰️ Craving epically delicious Detroit style pizza? Then you need this place in your life! Pro Tip: Add a side of their amazing Red Sauce to your Garlic Garlic Garlic pizza. Or any other pizza! Bonuses: 🗿Groovy decor. 🗿Chilled atmosphere. 🗿Friendly service. 🗿Fun vibes. 🗿Decent prices for the quantity & quality! Book well in advance, because this place is popular!
Chandelle K — Google review
Right when we walked in, we were blown away by the atmosphere and setup. We love the tiki bar theme, especially mixed with the current Halloween décor — there’s so much to look at and the vibe is just awesome. The staff are lovely and our server was excellent! MaiPai is known for its Detroit-style pizzas, and wow… they are absolutely incredible. It’s easy to see why this place books up FAST — we reserved a couple weeks in advance and still snagged the last 9:00 PM spot. Totally worth it though! The tiki cocktails are fantastic and served in fun themed mugs. I really enjoyed my Blue Hawaii (mixed perfectly), while my wife’s Painkiller was good but very strong. The Hurricane was another hit! For an appetizer, we ordered the Parm Fries — and they were so worth it. Crispy waffle fries drenched in gochujang butter (sweet with just a tiny kick), topped with fluffy Parmesan and fresh green onions. Delicious! For mains, I went with the Pepperoni Pile Up, easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, loaded with incredible sauce, stacked cheese, fluffy ricotta, and the star of the show — scotch bonnet honey drizzled on top. My wife ordered the Secret Pickle Pizza, which was cheesy, garlicky, and super dill-y — so unique and so good! We ordered larges so we’d have leftovers, and even though it’s 8 slices, they’re hearty enough that we only managed about two and a half each before calling it. Definitely worth the price — and we loved it so much we even bought a couple tiki mugs to take home! Highly, highly recommend.

We had the most amazing first visit at Maipai! We sat at the bar and Josh was our server. He was fun, helpful and a blast to hang out with. The food. Oh my god, the pizza. We had the chicken bacon ranch and the pepperoni pile-on. The most delicious pizza I’ve ever had. We had delicious drinks - the blue Hawaii and the Mai Tai. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

The Biergarten provides an authentic German dining experience in a stunning outdoor setting, complete with mature trees, string lights, and a mural. Notably, it features outdoor beer taps and the only licensed year-round outdoor grill in the City of Hamilton.
If you’re looking for comfort food in Hamilton, well this is the place! All the staff here is welcoming and kind. My server Shania was attentive and sweet. Had a very polarizing experience here. The food is very good, and most of the menu is a great value for the money. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely and feels very cozy. Everyone was very friendly too! Unfortunately, i am knocking a few stars down. The service speed when we went was horrible. We arrive at we were seated at 5:30, and ordered by 5:45, and didn't have our meals until 6:45. At no point did any of the service or management team seem concerned about the wait. No one popped over to say acknowledge the delay or anything. Hell we couldn't even get the water glasses refilled without actively flagging someone down. It's also worth noting that while the portion sizes in the schnitzel dishes are great, the goulash portion my wife ordered was significantly smaller. On a night when the restaurant has their house in order I bet it's a simply wonderful experience. However, that is simply not what we encountered.

I really enjoyed the visit and it is definitely among my top 5 restaurants in Hamilton. The waitress Ally is very nice, helpful and explain everything in details, the atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming, traditional German decor, the food is delicious, there are daily specials, and there is a great selection of desserts. Overall, I really love it and will definitely come back more often.

We drove about 45 minutes to eat here. We always enjoy our meal here it's awesome!! This time was the best ever. Food was delicious, fresh and hot. Server was also fantastic. Could decide salad with blue cheese dressing or meatball soup so had both. Very yummy. Keep it up will be back soon.

Wow, after hearing so many great things about the Black Forest from veteran Hamiltonians, I can definitely agree with everyone. We usually make the trek to Kitchener for a proper German Schnitzel (Metro on Victoria) but I think we just found our replacement! Definitely look forward to returning!
Randy S — Google review
Excellent schnitzel! Huge portions - even from their lunch menu. I had the Schnitzel on a Kaiser. Schnitzel is normally very dry without any sauce or lemons. The fried onions really balanced it out. Friendly waitresses in old-fashioned German dresses. Prompt service. Clean washrooms. My only caveat is the long lineups on the weekends. The restaurant is located in an old building so air conditioning does not run as strong in the waiting area. Drinks are expensive considering you only get a small/medium glass cup. One more warning and this is a big X for Hamilton. The city-owned lots don't accept credit cards, only coins.
Timothy W — Google review
The place has an unique interior. Service was friendly and helpful, food was typical German food, schnitzel and sausages etc. The schnitzel was huge, enough to feed 2 people. The side portions were also generous. You will not leave hungry. Beer was good.
Haley — Google review
Dining out, during these times, isn’t what it used to be. When you are tired of fast food and takeout and have a craving for schnitzel - then this place is great. Kept it simple and ordered the small schnitzel plate. Judging from the size - it was a smart play. The service, despite the challenges, was upbeat and attentive.

Quatrefoil is an elegant and sophisticated restaurant that serves modern French cuisine with a seasonal twist. The upscale establishment has received numerous accolades, including being named one of the 10 Best New Restaurants in Canada by enRoute Magazine and receiving TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence.
I can’t believe I hadn’t gone to this restaurant before. It was such an amazing experience. I enjoyed the Friday tasting menu and I felt like I was on one of those shows on the Food Network. I don’t know that I can articulate how awesome it was. So please just go. You will not be disappointed. I loved that you could dress up or be casual. It was fine dining without any pretension. Kyle was the best server ever!!! If you get him you will be so lucky. Note: we ordered an extra entree to taste and it was so yummy. The patio was beautiful as well. Enjoy!!

I'm not sure how to describe this place. Wonderful. Probably the best food and service experience I've had. I'm from the states and this meal would be at least double. I'll be coming back every time I'm in town. I had the steak tartar to start. Very well balanced. Followed by the trout which was super fresh. It did have a hint of cloves or black licorice. Then finished with the Brownie dessert and cafe. I'll be talking about Quatrefoil for a long time. And the service was fantastic.

We celebrated my husband’s 65th birthday here. The food was outstanding and the service from Kyle and Karen was amazing. Both Kyle & Karen made sure we were looked after at all times. We will definitely return. The food is always incredible and we always leave having enjoyed everything on our plates. Thank you to the team at Quatrefoil for making our evening so special.

We booked Quatrefoil for our wedding and were incredibly glad we did so! Every portion of the meal was absolutely delicious and all of our guests were raving about it afterwards. Sometimes food at weddings can be hit or miss but if you want a guarantee your guests will leave happy- I would recommend Quatrefoil. Additionally, booking was very easy as well. I had emailed back and forth with Linsay to discuss menu, logistics, etc and it was all made simple for us. We were also given some latitude to take pictures on the property which was also appreciated. Lastly, I wanted to comment on the small attention to detail: serving the bride first, temporarily holding service during speeches, picking up and folding napkins if someone went to the bathroom. The service really felt impeccable and it was a mix of fine dining and boutique dedication. We will definitely be coming back for our one year anniversary. Thanks again Quatrefoil!

We came to Quatrefoil for a special anniversary lunch and were thoroughly impressed. Everything was exceptional, from the atmosphere to the service and especially the food. I had the grilled Humboldt squid to start, followed by the Brome Lake confit duck leg, and finished with the Pavlova for dessert. Each course was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the setting was perfect for a quiet, refined and romantic date. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.

My fiancé planned a truly special 40th birthday dinner for me at Quatrefoil in Dundas, and it was absolutely lovely! We opted for the tasting menu, and honestly, every single dish was fantastic. It's easy to see why they're Michelin Guide recommended! The duck and potatoes were definite standouts – just incredible. We had such a wonderful evening. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a fantastic meal!

My fiancée and I attended this place for the first time for his birthday. The ambience and historian look to the place was lovely. Disappointing was the service as our waiter couldn’t get my fiancée’s rosacea right, who couldn’t consume citrus and spices, or the rosacea will flare. He served citrus in the water, and the alcohol which is a disregard for ones’ health. His service was also quite slow. He forgot our bread, after we’d received our appetizer 50 minutes after we sat, then the bread came; with a mention. The food was over salted, and our waiter didn’t mention of the garlic chilli oil in the Sea Scallop (rosacea).? Although the presentation looks fabulous, and the flavours worked. Not a great experience for a Michelin Star mentioned restaurant. It should have been a better quality experience with regards to ones’ health.

Edgewater Manor Restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience in a historic mansion surrounded by stunning settings. The upscale restaurant serves gourmet steaks and seafood with a global wine list, making it perfect for a romantic night out. The opulent 1920s mansion is adorned with carved stone and an impressive marble staircase, creating a breathtaking ambiance for diners.
We visited Edgewater Manor Restaurant for a company event and were thoroughly impressed. The space is extremely well-polished and elegant, making it a perfect setting for a professional gathering or a special occasion. The food was excellent, with every course thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The service was phenomenal—attentive, professional, and seamless throughout the entire evening. Parking is limited, so arriving early or arranging for a drop-off and pick-up is definitely a good idea. That said, once you're inside, the overall experience more than makes up for it. The atmosphere is refined and charming, and even the washrooms are clean and stylish—adding to the upscale feel of the venue. Edgewater Manor is a truly beautiful space that delivers on both quality and service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to host an event or enjoy a memorable dining experience.

The food is amazing over here! My partner loved the surf and turf ! It was made exactly how he wanted and so good I got the chicken entrée , which was also amazing I would say the service is a little slow depends on which server you get We got the server named Dina She was definitely not super interested in serving us. We had to wait around a lot for her to come back and she was showing a lot of attitude when I asked her to explain a couple of things in the menu. If we ignore our experience with her, our experience was amazing and I would definitely love to go back over there

This place is absolutely amazing! I loved the Seacuterie seafood platter from the appetizers — every item was delicious and uniquely seasoned. The Scallop Risotto from the mains exceeded my expectations — it was incredibly tasty. I also tried the tomato from the Icelandic Cod dish, and I’ve never thought tomatoes could taste that good. Truly great value for the price!

One of my favorite places to visit. Beautiful venue in a great location overlooking the water and listening to instrumental music in the background (an actual person playing). We had dinner at Edgewater Manor Restaurant the other night, and it was a great experience overall. The venue is stunning with beautiful water views – definitely a memorable setting. The food was almost perfect. The grilled calamari was a bit too oily for our taste, but the Spiced Coconut Shrimp was absolutely delicious. We finished with a classic Crème Brûlée, which was really tasty and the perfect way to end the meal. Definitely a place we’d come back to – great atmosphere and some standout dishes!

Let me give a real review! This place is crazyyyyyyy old, IN A GREAT WAY!!! The history of the building is amazing and sort of a happy ending for the original family that started to build this castle. So I walk in with my girlfriend for her birthday.... (I am under dressed, due to coming from work) and was like "OH nooo it's for rich ppl." The host looks at us smiling and asked if we had a reservation. I said "no sorry, its my gf bday so we just showed up" The waiter lady Ms. Jessica sees us (she is amazing) said we talk walk ins too! They both say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She walks us to table with a sweet view of the lake and informs us of the wines and foods. Jessica is very engaging and a pleasure to talk with. She told us some history of the castle as well. She took our orders and keep us feed and updated when the main course was to be ready. The caesar salads were fresh and just the correct amount of sauce. Nothing over powered each other and we could taste all the individual parts to make up the salad. The main courses was.... Surf & Turf with mash potatoes and vegetables. AND Rib Eye with Fries lol... I know im basic! The lobster tail presentation was very good. The butter garlic over the flame was a great touch. Yoooo the steaks were cooked soooo well to how we wanted it. Whomever the cook is... keep cooking just like that. That's your gift to humanity!!! Tastes sooo good! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was to die for and they put on HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the plate with 3 candles. We were impressed!!!! Overall we felt this is a place that show always get a 5 star review. Staff, food, atmosphere is top notch! No wonder rich ppl dine is such places. Trust me, I am not rich but felt like I was. Thank you Jessica and Edgewater for allowing us to have a great birthday dinner!!!

This is one of my favorite dining places in all of Canada! The view of the lake, food, and service were all amazing! The ambience is beautiful and the manor is situated at a really scenic spot. The only thing that didn’t work right was that the ladies bathroom didn’t seem to have hand soap, and parts of the interior could be upgraded. Otherwise, it was great. I highly recommend this.

Namu is a popular Asian fusion restaurant that serves delicious food from all over the world. The menu has a great selection of dishes, including chicken katsu curry, rib-eye steak, kimchi fries and bulgogi burger. Everything on the menu is mouth-watering, but the Bao sandwiches are especially noteworthy. The restaurant is always evolving to keep up with current trends in Asian cuisine, so be sure to check it out!
I came here to celebrate me and my partners anniversary, and we had such a great time! The atmosphere is very cozy which we liked, it felt like we were dining at home. And of course food was delicious!! My favourites were definitely the scallop tartare and the yakisoba! We overheard another table tell the server that they gave a smaller tip to them because they felt that the service was rushed, but I disagree - service was amazing as everyone was so nice and welcoming. The restaurant was definitely busy and we could tell that the servers were a bit overwhelmed but they still provided a great service and attended to us when we needed them. I would 100% recommend coming here but I would suggest making a reservation if you were coming in the evening or on the weekend!

Hamilton’s #1 restaurant! The food is innovative, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We tried a fantastic mix of dishes (kalbi gnocchi, rendang, spicy salmon roll, sushi taco) and each one was bursting with flavor. The burger spring roll was my personal favorite (I forgot to take a picture because we devoured it so fast!), and the chocolate cake at the end was simply immaculate. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were warm, attentive, and our dishes came out surprisingly fast despite how busy it was. You can tell they really care about the customer experience. If you're in Hamilton and haven't been yet, you're missing out. Highly, highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I finally got to try Namu after hearing such good things about it. It absolutely exceeded our expectations. It is a very romantic & classy yet homey joint with high quality asian fusion. We tried the lobster shumai & calamari which had amazing flavoured sauce, shrimp bao which was very high quality, and wagyu korean bbq ssam. My favourite was the wagyu meat. It is definitely worth the price, as the quality meets & exceeds it. I recommend getting 2 appetizers & 2 mains. It was perfect portion to enjoy everything. Make sure to book a reservation as they are really popular. We loved it!!!

I loved having flowers on the table during dinner. It's not common and I spent a while checking the authenticity of the flowers :) The flowers added more ambience. The food was well seasoned and tasty, my favorite was the grilled octopus. The octopus was satisfying. If possible, I would like the pomegranate in the fig salad to be replaced with other nuts (like cashews or pumpkin seeds) or other fruits (blueberries or peaches). I could feel the pomegranate seeds when chewing and they were not sweet enough. Will come back to try other food.

I am staying at an Air BnB close by visiting my hometown. My sister and two friends and I went to Namu and everything exceeded my expectations. The food was reasonably priced, fresh and delicious and came quickly. I found it innovative and beautifully presented. One friend was hesitant as she has never liked Korean or Japanese foods she has tried in the past. She loved (we all did) the sushi roll of the day, which was a fried yam roll, we ended up ordering two additional ones. Another friend wanted a modified version of one of the rolls and the staff had no trouble accommodating. My sister and the hesitant friend loved the bimimbap and the avocado roll was so fresh and delicious. The drinks we brought quickly and the beer and wine was excellent. I didn't even notice when they brought the second picture of water and they ensured the table was clean and the service was impeccable. We went on a Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. We were 30 minutes late as my sister and friends were coming from the East end and the East mountain. When I called to let them know we were running late, they were very accommodating. I especially enjoyed that they didn't push us out quickly or pressured us to pay quickly, giving us time to chat and catch up. I will definitely be going back here, it was such a delight.

Mexican restaurant
Maria's Tortas Jalisco is a beloved local spot in Stoney Creek, offering a unique take on Mexican fast food. The menu features an array of Mexican-style soups, sandwiches, street corn, enchiladas, and more. One standout item is the homemade tacos served with traditional toppings like pico de gallo and guacamole.
This place is legit if you are craving an authentic Mexican cuisine. EVERYTHING is good and this place is always busy everyday especially during lunch and dinner times. Its not un common for line ups especially during the weekends. The food is a 10. The great thing about this place is they have pictures on the wall when you walk in explaining whats what on the menu so your not intimidated by the menu (it can be intimidating in your not familiar with authentic Mexican food). The staff and servers who bring your food to your table are very welcoming and will answer any of your questions. Food wise they have it all including various Mexican deserts, various Mexican drinks including bottled Coke from Mexico which is a thing (bottle Coke from Mexico hits different if your a Coke enthusiast). They also have like a mini Bodega store where you can buy Mexican various Mexican snacks and stuff like that. In regards to parking, that's the only negative as they just don't have enough parking to accommodate the hords of people thats always there which just shows how good this place is. Good thing is there is a side street right off the restaurant you can park down. They also do take out as I noticed allot of taķe out orders going out too which is another good sign. Overall its a local gem to have such a great restaurant in this community. This place could easily have a Michelin star and would rival any Mexican restaurant you'd find in downtown Toronto if not better than. For anyone going to Niagara Falls from outside Hamilton, its not a bad idea to stop by as this place could also be a destination restaurant as well which is not uncommon from what I hear.

This spot has quickly become my go-to for brunch! Not only is the food delicious—authentic Mexican flavors with a fresh twist—but their hours of operation are so much better than other restaurants in the area. It’s such a relief to find a brunch place that doesn’t make you rush or stress about narrow serving times. Whether you’re an early bird or rolling in later, they’ve got you covered. Great food, friendly service, and super convenient hours—highly recommend!

We just had an incredible meal at this authentic, family-owned Mexican restaurant and wow—what a find! The flavors were absolutely bursting from every bite, and you could tell the ingredients were incredibly fresh. It’s the kind of place where every dish feels like it was made with love. Be warned though: if you’re not looking for this spot, you’ll likely miss it. Tucked away on a main street, it’s easy to drive right by without noticing. But trust me, it’s worth finding. We went on a Sunday, they opened at 12 noon, and by 12:05 there was already a lineup out the door—and for good reason. The only downside is the parking situation (or lack thereof), so plan accordingly. That said, with how good the food is, these guys are going to outgrow their space in no time. 10/10 – Highly recommend.

My husband and I are fiends for Mexican food - we choose it for 90% of date nights and are always checking out new places in the city. Maria’s is easily some of the best Mexican I’ve ever had. So simple, so FRESH, so delicate and tasty. The flavours and textures of everything are just - chef’s kiss! A must-try. The staff are all so sweet, friendly, personable, and accommodating. You feel right at home eating there. They all work as such a nice team. My favourites are the Aztec soup (trust me!!) and the chimichanga.

Went to Maria’s Tortas Jalisco yesterday with my family and we had a great time. The atmosphere was overall really nice, and the staff were super, super welcoming and patient with us while we decided on our food. It was our first time there, and with a picky 8-year-old, they really made the experience easier. The food was delivered in a timely manner and it was exceptionally delicious. We’ll 100% be coming back. It was extremely busy inside, which clearly shows they’re doing something right with both the food and service. The only downfall was how unbelievably hot it was inside. Yes, it was very hot outside, but there was absolutely no relief from the heat indoors. We were all sweating profusely while trying to enjoy our meals. If the restaurant made any kind of upgrade for airflow, even just a bit, it would’ve taken this almost 10/10 experience to a 12/10.

Ordered the birria tacos with horchata. Super soft meat in the tacos 🤤 and the birria consume was flavorful. Only complaint was limited parking if they are packed best to park on side street and walk over.

Honestly one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. Everything on the menu is a great price for what you get. Very affordable authentic Mexican food. I ordered the extra spicy birria enchiladas. Food was hot and so tasty!! Service was fantastic and I will definitely be back for more!!
HonestReviews — Google review
Food: - Quesobirria (17.50$) Tacos were adequately packed with a good amount of cheese, double tortilla. Flavour is very subtle all around. Good texture. Consomé doesn't have much meat if at all. I would like if they gave a bigger slice per lime and gave one lime slice per taco as it serious needs that flavour shock. Doesnt taste bad at all, its pretty good but very subtle flavours. Probably slightly above medium tier versus all the birria tacos I've had. I’m visiting Hamilton so I'm not sure what the competition is out here but falls to slightly above average in Toronto. Average size taco. The cucumbers were an interesting touch with tajin I assume. The green sauce was veeery good. Great taste, slight spice. Very watery though so not the typical green sauce I'm used to with tacos but well worth the change.

McQueen's Banh Mi Viet is a no-frills, fast-casual eatery that specializes in serving traditional Vietnamese sandwiches alongside coffee and tea. According to baking expert Sabrina Stavenjord, this place surpasses all other banh mi joints in Toronto. After personally trying their offerings, it is clear that these sandwiches are of exceptional quality and come at an incredibly affordable price.
Quick in and out service, next to busy Asian grocery store. Classic assorted viet sub was under $6.50 Great toppings and meat to bread ratio. Dripping spicy sauce a few bites in 👍👍 not too spicy
Jacky — Google review
It's a relatively small, takeout restaurant. You may be able to eat standing at a narrow bar against the front window. We are outside in the glorious sun. The banh mi were delicious and filling. The staff friendly and helpful. Recommended

I regret not trying this place sooner. The bahn mi is fresh, delicious and made to order. The bread is perfect crispy on the outside and soft inside. I got the deluxe for the extra meat and they give you a lot. This place is the best for authentic bahn mi in the area! Will be back soon and often!
Judith L — Google review
Best banh mi I've had in Hamilton. The meatballs sub is my favorite! This place is take-out only. The owner was very friendly. Service was quick. $5.50 for a classic and $6.50 for a deluxe (slightly bigger baguette with more fillings).

Best Banh Mi in Hamilton so far. If you’re searching for a great sandwich and a good price this place should be added to your list. The Saigon Deluxe comes on fresh bread with fresh ingredients and will fill your appetite for well under 10 dollars. Authentic flavour with spice or no spice. Order ahead if possible as they often can sell out before 2pm (this is a good thing). They bring fresh buns in daily and when they are gone, they’re gone. Enjoy! I’ve been back many times and they are always consistent. Still one of my favourite banh mi’s I’ve had in Canada.
S A — Google review
That sauce! There is some type of sauce that is used on the classic banh mi that takes it to a next level. Loved that there was not an excessive amount of butter as I have experienced elsewhere. Bread could be a touch fresher or maybe it was just the bum end of the bun. My wife said that it could be the best banh mi she's ever had. Friendly owner taking the orders and an old poa-poa making the sandwiches (love it). Can't complain about the price; $5.50 for a regular classic and $6.50 for extra meat. Ranks high up on my list of best banh mi after only one visit. Will be back for more.
Simon L — Google review
My friends, what are we doing here? Not eating banh mi at McQueens? This is hands down the best banh mi in Hamilton and it’s no contest. It’s a take out spot with no indoor seating but for a mere $5 you’re getting an experience you’ve never had. The service is fast and the little shop also sells other stuff like sticky rice, Vietnamese coffee, instant noodles and other stuff! They also cater so if you ever need If you’re looking for suggestions, in my opinion the classic thap cam (cold cut meats) is the best. They offer the option to make the sandwich become deluxe (adds a lot more meat) for a dollar more but in my opinion it becomes a bit heavy for my preference! If you’re on a bulk, a deluxe banh mi is such a good lunch 🙏 definitely worth checking this place out.

Tried this for the first time today and loved it! Very reasonable pricing and good portion sizes. Service was great. I've been to Vietnam and these Bahn mi are authentic and the real deal. I tried the Saigon it was delicious. Perfect quick lunch spot

First time visiting but highly recommended! They did not disappoint! Plenty of choices of burgers and sides to satisfy every taste! All of our choices were prepared to perfection and absolutely delicious. We had fries, fried pickles and onion rings and all of the accompaniments were top-notch as well! We had a fabulous meal and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Can't wait to come back!

Typically the food here is amazing. However, I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich along with other items for delivery and received a completely raw piece of chicken. I know the menu says that pink is normal in the burger, but i didn’t think it applied to the chicken as well… I would still recommend checking out the food here, maybe just double check your chicken before you eat half of it ;-;

HAMBRGR King William provided us a great meal! The burgers were spectacular, the service was fun and friendly. The only deficiencies were that the food took a long time to get to our table and, well, to get a 5⭐️ rating from me on atmosphere, it needs to be perfect. Rarely is anything perfect. Still, I’d happily go back there again!

**NOTHING YOU SEE ON INSTAGRAM IS ON THE MENU Had lunch on the patio, a first for us for the season. Got seated on the patio ordered some drinks I got the white peach sangria that came in a French press (pretty sure it was just for looks) then started to look at burger options. The burgers that u see on Instagram are all “special’s” or part of the “BYOB” so I was extremely disappointed when my burger the “The OKC Original” that came out with just a single 1/4lb Pattie, mustard, 2pickles, caramelized onions and a Martin bun (which is just a regular burger bun) after seeing fully loaded burgers with lots of toppings. I felt kinda cheated out of a good burger or maybe the server could have mentioned how small it actually was especially in comparison to the size my bf was ordering. After my burger, my side salad and eating almost all my bf gar-parm fries I was still hungry after. I felt like I ordered a McDouble from McDonald’s for the size of it. It was still a good burger just not what I was expecting. I also asked my server to add ketchup she told me they can put it on for me or put it in a side bowl, for a burger place not to have ketchup/mustard or other condiments on the table I found it very odd not to mention they completely forgot to put it on the burger or on the side. Saw our server left for the day (which understandable for shift changes etc;) but after she left nobody came back to check in on us and we had to go inside the restaurant to get the bill. Should probably pay more attention to patio customers it would have been really easy to dine and dash. Overall this place has great patio vibes, I enjoyed my drink and sides and if I were to come back only order off of instagram and to go to the other location on Ottawa street as it seems like this location is hit or miss

Located in the Hamilton Farmers Market, Bring Me Some is a unique vegan takeaway counter offering a variety of flavorful and satisfying fast food options without any meat or dairy. Their menu features sandwiches like the Popeyezwho and Damn Girl, Yous a Pineapple, all made with their own plant-based chicken substitute. As Hamilton's first 100% vegan fast food restaurant, Bring Me Some has gained popularity for its delicious offerings such as vegan fried chicken, buttery biscuits, and milkshakes.
The Famous Bowl tasted just like KFC's. I was quite surprised everything was vegan, the flavors and textures were on point. Wife really enjoyed it! Service is super friendly. The lady at the counter is so nice, thank-you! You've got to try the shakes, you'll be shocked how good they are being dairy free. I was amazed. The cookie butter shake was phenomenal!

Delicious vegan fast food! Really enjoyed the Big Mac and the KFC famous bowl dupe. Also got chicken tendies that seem to be made from in-house made seitan? Absolutely a must for those who enjoys fast food/junk food 💛

Absolutely delicious, l had the chicken Tenders, minus the chicken. The batter was so crunchy and the tenders tasted delicious. Make sure to order the waffle fries. There were 5 of us for dinner and everyone really enjoyed their meals. We are going back again next week. Best Vegan Restaurant in Hamilton hands down..

The best vegan chicken burgers I have ever tasted! The crispy coating is absolutely perfect. Tam and I have tried everything on the menu now and there isn't a single option that we wouldn't recommend. However, we do have our favourites. 😁 This place isn't just for vegans. It's a plant-based menu that I dare any chicken lover to try.

Was at the Burlington Vegfest this Sat and came across this vendor who was very happy to introduce me to his vegan products. I was told I must try and that their recipe is the best on the market compared to similar meat alternative products. I decided on the Chic-EEL O'Neil with waffle fries. Portion is ample and yes the fries were fantastic so I was hoping to be blown away by the sandwich. The patty did have a great texture, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside but the taste is where it falls short. I found definitely needed additional seasoning and flavor to give it more character. The vegan ranch sauce was bland, did not work for me at all and the pickles were too sour and overpowering. Sorry but the unchicken sandwich with fries is a miss for me and not worth the hefty price tag of $22.50! that I was charged. I will continue my hunt for a more tasty and flavorful option. Doomie's (when they were in TO) still rule when it comes to best recipe for meat alternatives products.

I look forward to visiting Bring Me Some everytime we do because everything is so very good. Good feelings all the time, and there has been no disappointment) From the tendies to the prawns to the sandwiches, there are only winning options here, just depends on your palate, and I think they have a nice variety of flavours and combos to satisfy most. We've been there several times, ordering online on their website has been super easy, and they've been true to the estimated pick up time. If you're local to Hamilton you can walk in or get delivery on the various apps, but we've driven over to their location in the Hamilton Farmers Market. They offer curbside pick up right now, or you can walk in and find them on the left side of the lower level. (who's left? when you get down the ramp at the market, just turn left, and keep walking until you see the glass restaurant, with the faint neon pink glow.) Our usual order is always the 2 can dine because it has something for everyone, it comes with 9 chickee tendee. 2 fries. 2 biscuits. 1 gravy. 1 coleslaw. 2 drinks, and we usually order at least one of their awesome sandwiches. We don't usually finish all the tendies the first day, but they are still quite delicious 1-2 days later. I love the variety of sauces they have for dipping and that their Nashville hot is actually spicy (if you're also a fellow spice fan, the T&T sauce is no joke, and they label it Hot AF with good reason, but so very good.) Anyway, big fan, and I'm glad they're around. Hoping for a Toronto location someday!

A hidden gem in the Hamilton farmer's market. Super yummy vegan fast food options. The creative item names are a nice bonus. We got the popcorn "chicken", "chicken" tendies (3 with "honey" and 3 with Nashville hot), "prawn" star, popeyezwho, buffalo "chicken" burger (you don't like buffalo? Bye son), waffle-cut fries. Their sauces were amazing too - the secret sauce was a great choice. Every single item hit the spot! Will definitely visit many times in the future.

ordered on uber eats, as it’s only 10 min away from me! i was really excited to try this place. I really enjoyed the famous bowl! The flavour was good and i enjoyed the popcorn chicken KFC vibe. The burger on the other hand was not so good. The food arrived really quickly so i was surprised to find it so soggy. this item really didn’t taste fresh, hold well or travel well. unfortunately it lacked flavour even tho i got spicy. Chicken Tendies were pretty decent, i like that they came with pickle slices but sadly didn’t travel well. the portion for the tendies was great!!! dipping sauces were tasty, i do wish the sauces and tendies were seasoned a bit more because they were a tad on bland side but it was still good.

Rayhoon Persian Eatery is a charming bi-level restaurant located in Burlington's Village Square, offering a unique culinary experience with its Persian dishes. The restaurant features a dog-friendly courtyard patio where guests can enjoy the centuries-old Persian culinary tradition. The menu boasts a delectable selection of dishes, including options for vegans and vegetarians. Additionally, visitors can look forward to monthly entertainment with belly-dancing shows on the third Friday of each month.
Hands down, the best Persian restaurant ever 😋 We have been coming here for the past 6 years, and have tried pretty much everything in the menu and it has always been 💯 🤩 Plenty of options for meat lovers, pescatarians, and vegetarians. 98% of the menu is gluten free (I am celiac and this is my happy place 🥹) with DF options available as well. We drive an hour to get here and it’s 100% worth it every time. Great atmosphere (with a beautiful patio), service, and a wonderful and caring owner who makes sure everyone is having a great time ♥️ we love you Reyhoon 🥹🫶

I visited this restaurant with a group of 11 people and was really hoping for better Persian food. I ordered the Koobideh Kebab. The texture was good, but it was way too salty — I could really taste the salt, and it ruined the flavor. The dish also came very plain, with no sides, which was a bit disappointing. Most of the people in our group had some kind of complaint about their food, which shows that the quality could be improved. On the bright side, the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The staff were super friendly, and our waitress was amazing. The owner was also very kind and welcoming. I’m writing this review in the hope that they improve the food, because the place has a lot of potential.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon, plenty of seatings were available and we got one of the nicer tables which was great. The atmosphere was very nice but the food wasn’t as good as we expected. The kabobs were a bit dry, the portions were a bit too small and the tomatoes were burnt on the outside and raw. The worst was the Torsh kebab, which was quite dry and wasn’t the authentic torsh kebab, it was barg kebab (veal tenderloin) that the sauce and ground walnut was added after it was cooked. Great service and great staff, however, the food can be much better!

Aug-7-25 we went there on the way back from Niagara Falls about 5pm. Service was good and the owner (Mahmood) offer to ask him any question. Kabob quality was decent but rice and others were too cold served. Vibe is family friendly type and the back outdoor few tables are excellent. Interior design is more like old school classic restaurant with some Iranian decoration elements. We enjoyed. Parking is a kinda difficult and we parked two blocks away. ADA access is possible. CHELO KABAB SERVED WITHOUT BUTTER WHICH IS A KINDA UNUSUAL.

Visited this place for the first time for dinner on a Friday night! Place was packed. Once we entered we could feel a strong fish smell! Like the whole place kinda smelled like a fish market, very strange!! Especially for a chic place! Very noticeable once you enter the restaurant from outside! The pastas were okay, but had some unusual flavors especially on the shrimp farfalle. Carbonara was also kinda mid. Chicken breast was cooked to perfection! The apps were also great. Our server Jenna was amazing! Attentive and personable. The atmosphere was chic as well.

Actually so delicious. Our waiter recommended the calamari and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. It’s really worth ordering. The halibut was delicious. Loved our first time here together. The restaurant is clean, and quaint including white tablecloths on the tables and a tea light candle for ambiance. The service was extremely attentive and refill to the beverages came without prompting. We started with the spring rolls...I wasn't a huge fan. They were very crispy but just okay. However, the main dishes blew us away!!! He ordered a black pepper steak stir-fry and I ordered my preferred Pad Thai. The food was exceptional. Flavourful and tasty and will definitely have us both coming back. He added a small side of rice and it's a good thing....the sauce was so amazing he wanted a carb to soak it up 💜 For me, there was a little side plate with chopped nuts and a lime for me to add myself....which I loved. The price was fairly priced for the portion size. For everything, it was $60 and we are both leaving with leftovers. I highly recommend you try eating in or ordering take out to try it if you are an Asian food fan.

We ordered take out from this place. The staff person was pleasant enough but kept saying they were very busy. When I went to pick up the food at lunch time, there was only one table of people. The place was empty. We brought the food home, it tasted like they threw leftover chicken and noodles into a pot, added some bottled Asian sauce and vegetables, and warmed for a minute. The vegetables were completely raw, the sauce bland. The price for the portion size was not good value. Unfortunately, there are not many Asian restaurants in the Stoney Creek area, so perhaps the 4 star reviews are based on no comparison.

The flavors are bold, unexpected, and absolutely delicious like a party in your mouth where every bite is better than the last. It’s not just food, it’s paradise for your palate. And to top it all off, our waitress “Camryn” was absolutely adorable, sweet, attentive, and very professional. She made the whole experience even better with her friendly energy. Big kudos to the chefs for putting so much thought and originality into every detail. If you’re in Hamilton and love tacos (or even if you don’t yet 😉), you need to eat here.

Honestly the food here is okay. The Baja wings had a good flavour but I wasn’t too amazed. The tacos are quite expensive for the size and they weren’t amazing either. The best one was The Brussels Sprout taco surprisingly. The other ones were okay (the OG fish, Habanero Brisket and Cali Fried Chicken). Even the Verdita Ceviche had potential but the chips were the best part of that dish (they were coated in a nice spice, the rest of the dish was a little too watery). The place gets really crowded fast, they ended up putting us in a small corner near the entrance. Despite these things, the service was good and the staff were very nice.
Crystle — Google review
I found this place quite pricey for what it offers—$7 CAD for a tiny taco that’s just a few bites. I’ve been to other restaurants with much more affordable and satisfying options. If you enjoy small, sample-sized portions, this might be the spot for you, but don’t expect to share dishes here—everything is individually portioned. As for the flavor, the tacos were good, but nothing extraordinary or memorable. We sat outside, and while the atmosphere was pleasant, the service was a bit slow. Overall, the experience was just okay—not bad, but I wouldn’t rush back.

This is our go to restaurant in Hamilton. With everything being gluten free I don't have to worry about any cross-contamination. Their tacos and dip are amazing, and don't skip on the dessert either! I go here often and I've never been disappointed. They also have daily deals, their Monday big mac smash is delicious! and lastly if you are a fan of Margaritas they will have one that will steel you heart away! they have them all from sweet to spicy and they're all delicious!

My favourite restaurant in Hamilton - been there many times. The food is absolutely delicious, the cocktails and beer excellent, the price reasonable, the service friendly and attentive. I especially like the Mule Fried chicken and of course the tacos
Jeromet R — Google review
Raised the price, shrunk the tacos. Used to be $30 for four tiny tacos, now it’s $35 and somehow even smaller. How you even manage to do that? $9 gets you 1 oz of meat, 1 oz of veggies (0.7 oz of that is chives), and sauce. Ridiculous. And the bags? Amusingly huge, like they’re packed for 20 orders instead of one.

Ask for Kailey if you want to have the best experience! Such amazing, attentive and personable service, not to mention she’s hilarious. She was super accommodating towards my sister’s food sensitivities and went above and beyond to ensure her food came out as she wanted. As a restaurant manager, I really appreciate coming across this kind of service. We came in with a group of 9 and were stayed at a high top, but a server overheard us saying the high chairs weren’t good for my grandmas legs and she moved things around and fixed us up a wonderful new spot without us having to ask which we were so thankful for! We were set up in Kailey’s section and I couldn’t be happier. Not only was the food incredible, but the service made the whole dinner that much more memorable. 10/10 couldn’t recommend this place more :)

So good and totally gluten free. It's always nice to not have to worry about contamination and this place rocks it. Everything we had was delicious. Fast friendly service.

Italian restaurant
La Spaghett Pasta House is a cozy Italian restaurant located in Hamilton, offering a variety of fresh, homemade pasta dishes and other Italian delights. Despite its unassuming location, the restaurant has been a popular choice for over 20 years. They take pride in serving artisanal pasta sauces made from scratch, with over thirty options to choose from. The menu features a wide selection of pasta shapes made in-house, paired with sauces like tomato, Alfredo, bolognese, and pesto.
The food was amazing and the portions were generous. Every dish we ordered was fresh tasted great and served piping hot. We even had leftovers to bring home for the next day and given solid Tupperware. It’s a smaller restaurant with intimate seating but not overly fancy. Absolutely delicious, family owned place to get some comfort food. Give it a try and enjoy! Must phone for reservations.

Came here this past weekend with my wife and a couple of friends for our first visit, and we were blown away by the flavor and quality. We eat at a lot of Italian restaurants, but this one stands out. It feels like everything is homemade and prepared with genuine love. All four of us ordered the chicken parmigiana, each with a different pasta pairing. My wife chose gnocchi with red sauce, while I went for penne with the lemon vodka sauce. That lemon vodka sauce was unbelievably rich and creamy. I’m still talking about it! I almost ordered some to go, but honestly, I doubt it would have made it home without me picking at it on the way home. This place is truly a hidden gem, a cozy hole-in-the-wall worth discovering. The waitstaff was warm, friendly, and attentive, and there’s plenty of parking right outside. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. A definite 10/10 !

Dinner was delicious. The service is great. They let you customize your sauce and noodles however which way you like them. Everything is made to order but still very prompt. Definitely make a reservation though! There's limited seating but the staff are very, very efficient.

An unexpected gem on the Hamilton mountain! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful date and were very pleased with our experience. Though small, this restaurant offers the perfect ambiance for an intimate dinner. The menu is plentiful with the option to customize and the portions are huge! The staff were incredibly friendly and even surprised us with a piece of mango cake, which was exceptional, thank you! We look forward to returning and trying more of the menu!

Becca and the team at La Soaghett served up an awesome evening filled with fantastic food, great atmosphere and superb hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were so full when we left. Thank you Melinda for introducing us to your favourite restaurant. We highly recommend!

Our first time visiting, and the entire place was such a moody vibe. The service was friendly and ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and they were very accommodating to requests! Even added in a free dessert for us at the end, which was so nice. Will definitely be back! A treasure to visit for sure, but make sure you make a reservation otherwise you won’t get in!

Rick Zamperin on CHCH stated this was his favorite restaurant so we gave it a try. You will not be disappointed!! You must make reservations due to limit in space and having approximately 10 tables. Staff very accommodating & friendly, very clean & food is a 10++. You are not rushed and meals are prepared like home cooked. We would have liked to order dessert & coffee but servings are very generous & delicious that our meal was extremely filling. Thought Valentinos was a good for Italian cuisine but this is now going to be our go to for Pasta!!!! Really Really enjoyed our meals.

La Spaghett Pasta House is a Hamilton gem for lovers of authentic, homemade Italian. Its intimate, candle‑lit setting, warm hospitality, and customizable pasta creations make it a standout—ideal for date nights, celebrations, or simply treating yourself to a lovingly prepared meal. If you reserve ahead and come hungry (but maybe skip the table bread), you’re in for a treat. Tips: • Book a table early. • Be ready for a 90‑minute dining flow. • Order what you want as leftovers are amazing and don’t skip desert. Have a pasta night at La Spaghett—it’s Hamilton’s beloved secret worth discovering!

The Ship is a laid-back tavern known for its unique burgers, seafood, and an extensive selection of bourbon, whiskey, and craft beers. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere offers indoor seating on two levels as well as outdoor options. While the main floor may be limited in space, the front patio provides a prime spot for people-watching along Augusta St.
The Ship never disappoints when it comes to burgers and beer! We dropped in recently and ordered a few of their burgers along with garlic bread and herb fries — everything was spot on! The burgers were incredibly juicy, loaded with flavour, and grilled to perfection. Special shoutout to the one with the pineapple slice in it — absolute game changer! Sweet, tangy, and savoury all in one bite. The garlic bread was buttery and crisp, and the herb fries were addictive — seasoned just right and super fresh. And let’s not forget the beer… sexy, bold, and refreshing — it paired perfectly with the food. The vibes were chill, the service was friendly, and the food was next-level delicious. Definitely coming back for more!

Burgers really good and service too. Many options of burgers with great combination of flavours. Big burgers and great price. To me kind of too much salt on my sweet potato fries but anyways I guess is normal for bar style to be in the salty side. I recommend burgers.

Fantastic food! Great location in a downtown Hamilton! The wife had The Catfish Poboy, it was delicious! I had the Pickle brined Chicken fried chicken and wow! What a combination, the flavour was incredible and cooked perfectly. The skin was crispy and the chicken was juicy and delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and service was very quick. Bonus was the free PAC Man arcade game! There is a cool little patio out back. The pub is very small and comfortable. Would definitely return!

The burger is probably the best I've had. All the options are great but imo, I'd cut straight to the core and order the cheeseburger in paradise every time. The fries are amazing and the beer selection on tap is also excellent. If it happens to be on tap, I highly recommend Bellwood's Cat Lady IPA if that's your thing. It's a lovely setting as well, set in an old family home with cozy, inviting decor and only the best music playing in the background. The staff are amazing as well! My go to for a nice night out, just don't go every day because the price can stack up.

We enjoyed our meal very much. My husband said the Lake Erie Perch was just as good as he used to enjoy in Port Dover. The fries were a little saltier than we're used to but were good. There were few tables where we were on the main floor - we usually like to dine in a booth, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was great. The outside seating looks very nice - there's actually booths outside but it was raining that evening. Thanks very much for a delicious supper!

The Bean Bar, a beloved spot in Westdale Village for over 25 years, is a popular hangout for university students and a favorite date location. Open until midnight daily (and until 1 a.m. on Thursday-Saturday), it offers a late-night menu with over 40 items to choose from. The highlight of the menu is its wide selection of unique cheesecake flavors and other delectable desserts that have been described as heavenly by many patrons.
Stopped in for the first time today. Decided to order a few items to split with my Mom. We ordered the House Salad, Pulled Pork Quesadilla and Yam Fries. Service was good and the quantity of food on the plates was good for the price. The only downfall was that the Quasadilla was an entry and didn't come with any sides, unlike the sandwiches and burgers on the menu (which seemed odd), and it was lacking in pulled pork.
Danielle L — Google review
The food was fresh but my wrap was small and bland, and the salad was soggy. Given the price of the food, I expected better quality and greater quantity. It's trying for a hip atmosphere and they were playing some smooth jazz tracks. The music wasn't too loud and provided for a good atmosphere for conversations.
Jeff B — Google review
All the good reviews are fake by management and friends. See other reviews below from real customers. I would NOT recommend anyone go to Bean Bar. I have been going to this restaurant for years for personal and professional functions, but it is under new management and the service and quality have gone ENTIRELY downhill. See attached photos from my latest order picked up in person - my "full size" Bean Bar Salad ($over $20+) came smaller than a side salad without cheese (as indicated on the menu), I was given regular fries after repeatedly explaining I ordered and paid for truffle fries, and my order was thrown all over the bag. I called the restaurant to rectify the issue, and their response was to argue with me and tell me "go post a poor review."
Chelsea W — Google review
Nachos were dry didn’t/couldnt finish them that was the appetizer. Had Fish & Chips for dinner chips were good fish was way too salty so much so I couldn’t finish that either Bathroom was in terrible shape like it hadn’t had a good cleaning in a while. If I had went to washroom before ordering I wouldn’t have ate there. $100 for app and 2 meals. Not worth it. Servers were kind so it hurts a bit to leave this review.

While this was an amazing restaurant, new management has drastically changed the menu and service. It doesn't feel right that it's operating under the same name. The prices are too high for the dishes they're serving. The food isn't bad, but it's value isn't there like it used to be.
Stephanie B — Google review
Ww went on a Saturday evening and, based on coming here a few years ago, hoped to get a seat. But there were only four other guests. The server was very friendly. We just had coffee and a slice of tasty cake. But I wondered what happened.
John B — Google review
Excellent service! Our server was friendly and accommodating, definitely highlighted the experience. Prices are a bit high, but you’re paying for good food here!! Nachos are like none you’ve had before, trust me they’re great. Pickled jalapeño and all the best things on one platter. Turkey burger was a bit dry but it had all the right flavours, even the salad accompanying it was amazing. One of the best beef burgers you can get too, such a great meal! Our food took a long time to get to our table though, about an hour of wait.
Priscilla W — Google review
I had the chicken club sandwich, and it was quite good. The sandwich was enjoyable, and it was big - and I liked the fries. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars overall, is the cost. I think it's too expensive for the food - but everything else was just fine.

Mexican restaurant
Mesa is a traditional Mexican restaurant located along James North, offering a cozy interior and serving modern Mexican cuisine. The menu features a variety of options including vegan and halal choices, alongside classic dishes like quesadillas, tamales, burritos, and flavorful tacos with protein options such as beef barbacoa and chorizo. The restaurant is known for its delicious nachos, quesadillas filled with cheese and choice of meat, as well as their must-try taco dish.
We checked out Mesa, a hidden gem in Hamilton, and we were not disappointed. This spot serves up some of the most authentic Mexican food we’ve had, with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Their menu offers a variety of meat options—Barbacoa beef, pulled chicken, ground beef and lamb birria—that you can customize with any dish. For an appetizer, I recommend the nachos which were fully loaded and delicious! We’ve tried the flautas, enchiladas, chimichangas and burritos, all of which have been packed with rich, well-balanced flavors. The Chimichanga comes with a side of fresh guacamole that added the perfect creamy touch. One standout detail is the red and green sauces they provide on the side—both elevate the meal and hit just the right spice level without overpowering the dish. But my absolute favorite has to be the bean dip that comes with their mains. It’s smooth, flavorful, and the perfect complement to their dishes. For dessert, the churros are a good choice and are nicely crispy. The Mille-feuille cake was tasty but not incredible. The portions are appropriate for the price and are very filling. The service can be a bit slow when busy but the food is always fresh. Mesa is a must-visit for anyone craving real, flavorful Mexican food in Hamilton. Highly recommend checking it out!

Mesa catered a wedding blessing party for 50+ people for our family this past weekend. Each dish was authentic, wonderfully presented, and delicious. Our guests loved the pozole, tamales, flautas, rice, beans, pico de gallo, salsas, and churros. We had decided to book Mesa for our party after having enjoyed several amazing meals at the restaurant ourselves. Not only will we be dining at Mesa again, we highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food for an event or party. Thank you so much for making our event extra special! Taco meat I made last week sitting in my fridge had a more flavour than this. Extremely disappointing no flavour whatsoever. Ordered the sampler platter hoping to find an amazing dish but only thing this platter made me what is to not come back. We had to ask for salt and the hottest hot sauce they had to make it enjoyable. I’ve never put salt on any Mexican food ever. I think it was more like unflavoured mush. Like it was just so bland I’ve never had food like this before. Service was really good all things considering but I think they heard us talking amongst ourselves about the food and we never heard back until we had to pay the bill. Yes we could have said something but they could have done something instead of ingoring us after. But all is said and done and I do appreciate them letting us know that they were out of the shrimp cocktail and mint for the mojito’s as we sat down. From other reviews it seems to be a good seller. But maybe it was an off day for them

Soo good. Food is absolutely delicious. Freshly prepared. I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant and don’t know why I hadn’t been back here sooner. Authentic flavours. The burrito is huge even the regular. Served on a plate and topped with even more filling eaten with knife and fork. Great cocktails. I’ll be returning again soon. Be sure to come hungry. You may want to phone ahead depending on the day and time you visit. Give them a try if you’ve never been. Mesa has been in Hamilton for quite a while and is still one of the best. Hope you enjoy

Detour Cafe is a renowned coffee spot with two locations in Hamilton. The flagship cafe in Downtown Dundas and the newer one on John Street South offer standout coffee and espresso, as they roast their own beans from top coffee regions. In addition to beverages, they serve hearty breakfasts, sandwiches, and baked goods. The cozy setting of the cafes makes them perfect for get-togethers.

When you go to this café, don’t expect any service from the staff because you have to find your own table and place your order yourself. After waiting 30 minutes to find a table, we got in line to order breakfast, which also had a long wait. When they came to clear the cups and plates from the previous customers, they didn’t clean the table, which was covered in coffee and sugar stains! After 20 minutes, we asked the same lady to clean the table, and she reluctantly agreed but ended up spilling most of the sugar on my pants without acknowledging it or apologizing! We ordered the avocado toast and the breakfast platter, both of which were excellent. However, the poor service makes me hesitant to recommend this place to anyone.

This is a quaint little spot to pick up a coffee and homemade pastry. They serve a lovely breakfast, they have Special pizza events in the summer, great alone or meeting with friends on the patio. The baristas are friendly and welcoming. This little spot has many regular patrons who visit often and are addressed by name. May 14/25 ---A pleasant surprise today since I'm rarely pleased with the food in most places. We arrived around 130 pm - found our table and claimed it. Went up to order - very patient and pleasant servers. We didn't wait long for our food. It was brought to us. We shared the turkey sandwich (with a generous amount of REAL turkey), and a salad with a mixture of baby greens and other vegetables. Both perfectly prepared, delicious, and fresh ingredients. Fresh bread, too - our favourite local bread: Dear Grain. Will come back. Thank you! Helen and Ed K, Burlington.

Lattée was flavourful and hot with design on top at last! Same with the cappuccino. Scone was fresh and tasty. Food was delicious. Fresh sourdough bread and I brought loaf of bread home also was fresh and delicious. Green tea donut was a pleasant surprise. It was chewy and not super sweet. Overall it’s a lovely experience. The only problem is the step and the heavy narrow door, people with stroller struggled to get in and out. Paid parking on the side but free on the weekends

A family favourite! The cafe is nestled in the Dundas area with both indoor and patio seating. It serves all the regular espresso based drinks along with baked goods, teas and few plated food options. The retail section has freshly baked breads and a selection of their roasted coffee beans. The Power Porridge Bowl is one of the best I've had of its kind and its sweetness level can be customised. I also enjoy their hibiscus elderberry teas in those cold winter days. Detour is a must visit cafe if you are in the area!

The Harbour Diner is a charming American-style eatery that has recently undergone a renovation, trading its old-fashioned decor for a modern nautical theme. Located just two blocks from Hamilton's picturesque harbourfront, this cozy spot offers a delightful breakfast menu featuring classic dishes like bacon and eggs, pancakes, and eggs benedict. The diner also serves up creatively named items such as the 'All Aboard' egg dish.
First time eating here at The Harbour Diner; MIC DROP! BOOOOOMMMM! Every restaurant should be like this. Everything was absolutely amazing. April 19/2024 my coworker Brian and I ordered two triple clubhouse sandwiches and look at the pics ! Absolutely AWESOME! Update February 23/2024 - We got sandwiches from @theharbourdiner and WOW 😮 I had the prime rib and my coworker had the triple decker club and they were AMAZING 🤩 sooooo delicious! 40$ for two sandwiches but well worth it for sure ! Thanks 🙏 Justin ! FANTASTIC EVENING ❤️ I had oysters , 🦞 lobster 🦞 and crab 🦀 Alfredo and @melissabardy had 4 cheese tortellini and both dishes were absolutely delicious 🤤. But the really great thing was the atmosphere, it was dinner at your family’s house. Everyone were complete strangers yet they all laughed together, ate together, drank together and had a completely relaxing positive time. Justin and his wife made everyone feel like a brother or sister and that is an atmosphere that is irreplaceable. Delicious food , great laughs, great night ❤️ thank you Harbour Diner ❤️ ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC ! The food is sooooo delicious! Kelly our server was really nice and extremely professional, Justin was a happy smiling person who was very obviously proud of his food and his staff. This was probably the BEST experience we’ve had in the food world for a while . My Prime Rib Benedict was really really flavourful and delicious, Melissa’s Harbour Breakfast was also wonderful and her apple tea was excellent. I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience we had today !

UPDATE!!!! I've now been here and would like to give 10 more stars! I'm gonna lay it on thick because these two owners deserve it!!! First of all, I have never in the 34 years I've been alive. Have I ever recieved such a warm welcome. The minute I walked in I felt like I was visiting friends of 20 years!!! Extremely lovely couple who were so personable and so friendly!! The restaurant made me feel like I was sitting in Nova Scotia, so adorable, cozy and immaculate! The place was spotless and to call the portions generous would be an understatement. Above all else, the prices are more than fair for the amount of food they put out. Everything tasted so fresh and perfectly seasoned. Im so happy I was there early because that experience made my mood for the entire day top tier. I'm counting down the days til April 30th when we go back with more of my best friends. I can't say enough good things about this place. Not just the food, but the experience was out of this world awesome. Everyone has to eat here. Seriously. I've never eaten here. Not yet anyway as I live out of town, but the way they chose to handle all the bs covid rules and how they kept their doors open and included EVERY ONE to dine here, will keep them a 5 star in my books forever. We are planning to have dinner with friends here after the Easter holiday and having seen the lobster Mac n cheese on "You gotta eat here" this morning. I CANNOT WAIT. Also, the way they handle negative reviews from bitter, lying, small minded folk is classic. my kind of place FOR SURE!!! See you guys soon!!!!! :) :)

Wow!!! I hadn’t been here in years. I am very glad we decided to go there this past Saturday. What a wonderful dinner. I had the roasted red pepper soup. Janice had the jerk chicken soup. Then we both had the pasta and sausage special for our main course. The two soups were over the top good. And the main course was absolutely fantastic. And what a great portion of food. Delicious and more than enough for both of us. Now the place, it was immaculate. Decoration in part were seasonal. And best of all, no TV in sight. Just some dinner music on low. And folks talking to each other throughout the restaurant. Now for the service. Also another wow moment. Attentive, conversational and very helpful. In addition, the meal was extremely well priced for what we had. And what we ate was excellently prepared. Wrap that all up and you have a wonderful dining experience. Thank you so very much. We will most definitely be back. Soon I hope. A true gem on James St N in Hamilton.

Nique Restaurant, located in Hamilton, Ontario, was a rustic-chic dining destination known for its seasonal Canadian cuisine and craft beer and spirits. The restaurant, which closed in late 2022 after over a decade of operation, was celebrated for its contemporary take on Canadian dishes with global influences. Chef Natalie Leung's innovative approach to comfort food garnered praise from diners who enjoyed the relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere of the mural-lined dining room.
We went on a Tuesday after the gym for supper. It was twoonie Tuesday’s which was what a piece of their hand-breaded southern style fried chicken cost. We didn’t know about this special but we weren’t disappointed. They marinate the chicken overnight in a special brine prior to breading and frying it fresh for you! The wine selection was impressive and the service was fantastic. We will return for another great dining experience. Update - returned for a patio reservation in this new time. The patio is small and isn’t shaded. I went with one friend and we were in direct sunlight and I was told that that was the only table for two so that’s where we had to sit. I’m fine with the sun and heat myself but everyone isn’t as tolerant to it. The menu is smaller and is written on laminated paper that is attached to the table at the entrance for ease of use and cleaning. We were sitting right beside the entrance and table. I’ll be happy to go back inside or sit out on the expanded pop out patio next time. The food was well prepared and presented nicely. The server was attentive and friendly.

The 2 dollar chicken special is what lured me in. As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is very very cozy, depending of what your interpretations of cozy is. The dimmed lights and quaint atmosphere is what got me. We ordered our fried chicken with local brews to drink which were great I must say. The fried chicken was also very tasty. The waiting staff was very welcoming and great at taking our orders and suggesting what to drink and eat. I will definitely go back and give their actual menu a try, since I only went there because of their cheap fried chicken.

I really liked the place, its atmosphere, service and food of course. I sit at the bar which I highly recommend especially if you like watching chefs cooking. Ingredients were fresh and well cooked. The only downside was that the food was too salty. I'm gonna ask them to put less salt next time to see if I will like it more. I did not go through their drink menu as I am not a drinker but it seemed like they had good selection of wine and beer. Overall, my experience was great and I will definitely visit again.

It was our first time to this restaurant, and we did enjoy it. I believe that the restaurant was a little bit understaffed on the Saturday evening that we ate there. The servers were all very friendly, but rushed and we're not frequently by our table. The food was very good. Make sure you remortgage your house before you go out to eat, as the prices are very high. We enjoyed ourselves, and will be back. I would recommend.

The cauliflower hummus here was fantastic!! No issues with any of the food here but nothing was as standout as the hummus to me - so definitely order that. I’d recommend trying several plates to split with friends.

The atmosphere of Nique is beautiful and I loved it, also the staff were very nice and respectful. I find that the prices for the food were a bit high for what was received. Everyone I was with finished their dishes and helped me with mine!I got the chicken and waffles which was way too heavy and sweet for me, however I loved that the chicken was boneless. We went to celebrate someones birthday during the day and it was not busy at that time. I would go again for the same reason due to the nice surroundings, but I would not casually visit.

This unique dining experience is well worth a try. Food is great, staff are professional, friendly and fun, environment very chill and cozy. Great for large groups or couples. Eat at the bar, tables or at the outdoor patio. Tooney Tuesdays offers absolutely the best fried chicken at $2 a piece. I mean I've never had fried chicken like that...

Aside from the decor and cheap beer on Sundays, this place is nothing special. The food was average and the portions were small. Everyone left hungry, despite a steep bill. We actually went elsewhere after to eat more. The staff are awesome though. ✌️

Nestled within a renovated historical power station, The Powerhouse offers a relaxed dining experience with pub grub. This establishment and its sister restaurants provide casual turkey dinners for takeout or dine-in across the greater Hamilton area. The classic dinner includes butternut squash soup, slow-roasted turkey, house-made sausage and sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, cranberry sauce, and apple blossoms.
Wow! Great building, great food, great service. Any restaurant that is in a historic building is usually a pretty special dining experience, and this is no exception. Easy to get to and park as well. A beautiful park with an interesting water feature is adjacent to the restaurant, to relax before or after your meal if you have time. Dining with the spacious rooms, vault ceilings and all of that wood is pretty cool. Great patio if that is your thing as well. We had chicken wings, wraps, and I had the liver and onions. All the food was delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. We’ll be back for sure!
Ian M — Google review
The food was so good, truly! Highly recommend the spinach dip. You can kind of tell ownership isn’t “with it” though, they’re charging $3 for the sauce that goes on wings, and another $3 for carrots and dip. The sauce for our wings was Franks Red Hot. Wild. $3 for Franks. Our server was awesome and super friendly, and again the food was very good. But from a service standpoint, charging for the sauce that goes on wings, and for carrots and dip is just ridiculous. Atmosphere - very cool. The bathrooms are really dirty. That is all.

I had an amazing dining experience at The Powerhouse!!! From the moment we walked in, everything exceeded expectations. I ordered the ribs, and they were absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was fantastic, with beautiful lighting, high ceilings, and an inviting, spacious vibe that made the early evening feel special. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server, Harman, was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. He took the best photos of me and my mom! A special touch came when the owner personally came by to check in on us. It was my mom’s birthday, and to our delight, we were treated to a complimentary cheesecake, which was a lovely surprise and so good! Thank you to the entire team at The Powerhouse for making our visit so memorable. We felt truly welcomed and cared for. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for excellent food and exceptional service!

Had to share details with friends, and looks like we’re all coming back here with extras next week lol The food, the people, the vibes!!!! AMAZING 👏🏼🍸 and there was a live band there! They were great as well… Decent value and a cool menu! Very delicious and great time! Will be frequenting here when I’m area for sure! Highly recommend :)

Had a great time bringing my family for lunch here! Was a little disappointed that all the drinks I requested were either unavailable or not servable, however we had a fantastic server who guided us promptly and that helped a lot!

We loved this place. The Powerhouse is a great building with huge windows and lots of natural light or you can eat and drink on a sprawling terrace. There's plenty of parking. The service was accommodating and professional, especially as we were a group of 15. The menu is a reasonable size with a lot of pub grub and some Asian fusion dishes. All in my party enjoyed their food choice. I really liked the flatbread appetizer and the beet and goat cheese salad with flatiron medium-rare beef on top. I recommend and will go back.

I hosted my baby shower here yesterday and have nothing but great things to say! The servers Jordan and Ethan were very attentive and helpful, helping us set up our personal items when we came in the morning and even helped decorate the cupcakes! The manager Bruce was there to help oversee everything, and the event planner Elena was great to work with when planning. I got so many compliments on the food and service! The event was a “drop in” but it seemed as though most people stayed the whole time because it was such a great time! Thank you powerhouse!
Drew A — Google review
Food was very disappointing - overcooked, not even close to the portion size shown on the website, and fries were mostly small bits. Nobody who saw the dish intervened before it reached the table which shows a systemic problem with attention to detail, also noticeable in how the outside of the building is deteriorating. It makes me concerned about what else they aren't paying attention to. I won't be returning.

Democracy* is a trendy industrial-style cafe located on Locke Street, offering gourmet coffee, tea, and an all-vegan menu. The interior features exposed timbers, ink-black slate, and raw metal that gives it the vibe of an ultra-cool office space or high-end loft. As its name suggests, Democracy* prides itself on open-mindedness and conversation without Wi-Fi distractions.
It had been so long since we last ate at Democracy* that my wife and I had forgotten that it existed. Quite silly of us considering that I'm vegan and its one of those rare vegan restaurant options in Hamilton. Luckily, a gift certificate from a friend brought us back. The dishes are wonderfully tasty and very much comfort food. I highly recommend Democracy• to everyone, even the non-vegans in your life.

Love it here. It’s so cozy. Lots of their little treats and baked goods are gluten free and I believe they are all vegan. Their brunch menu is good too! Very generous portions. They always play the perfect cozy calm music, you can reserve a table which I would recommend doing on the weekends. I’m the warmer months they have some patio tables out on the sidewalk to watch all the Locke street dogs walking by. The banana bread is 20/10. I also love their matcha oat latte with strawberry syrup.

I am visiting Hamilton for the week and was thrilled tonight stumble upon Democracy. I got the waffle burger and a strawberry tea lemonade. As I watched people of all ages come in and out, it was clear this is a great spot that the community loves. The food was spectacular! One of the best vegan meals I have ever had! Whoever is the cook here knows what they are doing. I will most certainly be back if I have time.

I've been ordering from here for a long time. They're the only place around now that serves vegan pancakes. Because of that, I usually come on the weekend when they have the all day breakfast specials. Otherwise, I love their breaded cauliflower, always order it in the afternoons.
Jujube — Google review
I ordered their specialty latte, “banana caramel”, and it was genuinely one of the worst lattes I’ve ever had. The espresso was extremely bitter, and the syrup flavour was unpleasant to say the least. The flavour tasted nothing like what is claimed to be, did not smell great, and started separating in my drink. I asked for some vanilla syrup to counteract the bitterness and they gave it to me! However, nothing could mask the actual taste of the coffee. I also got the avocado blt and would recommend it, very tasty! Service was also amazing. But paying almost $7 for a latte I would expect the beans to be of better quality.

We ordered from Baci using Skip the Dishes last weekend. The food came hot and quick. We ordered a few different items, but the standouts were the Classic Bruschetta, the Gnocchi Toscana and the Chicken Parmesan. Everything else we ordered was very good too. Thank you to Baci Ristorante for being able to host such a lovely private event for 30+ people! The food was lovely - went back up for the Eggs Benny four times. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends. Ava did phenomenal with her service. She was outgoing and friendly. 10/10 experience

Update: we returned to try it again. The food was delicious. I had chicken parm and it was so good and too much for me to eat with homemade pasta. The Caesar salad was nicely portioned and made with a tasty dressing. My husband had the burger which he said was perfectly cooked as well as shoestring fries which were crisp and fried the way he liked. We enjoyed very nice bottle of cab which happened to be on a half price wine night. This was a happy accident. I would highly recommend this restaurant for high quality freshly made food. We haven’t been here before. The food was okay. It was no better than east side Mario’s or Olive Garden. We are foodies and like quality dishes. I had one of their features of the day which was seafood risotto. It was hard and crunchy which means it was cooked too fast as it was uncooked inside. Risotto is to be cooked low and slow. This definitely didn’t happen. Yes they comped the dish but so not worth it. It was supposed to be seafood risotto. It had two shrimp and two scallops. Extremely disappointing. The service was great but the servers had too many tables each to provide high end service as it seemed that’s what they were trying to do. To me it seemed like a high end McDonald’s of Italian food. I will not return. This was my Mother’s Day supper so I’m very disappointed.

We recently hosted my mom’s 75th birthday party at Baci, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The space was beautiful, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. A huge thank you to Karley, Chris, and Kristina for making the planning process so smooth and stress-free. The entire team was attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. But the real star of the day? The food! Every single dish was delicious and beautifully presented—our guests couldn’t stop talking about how great everything tasted. My mom was over the moon with how everything turned out, especially the food and the attentive service. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate such a special milestone. We will definitely be returning to Baci for future events. Highly recommend!

The cafe's dedication to quality is evident through Cumby's impressive achievements in barista competitions.
Hands down the best overall cafe in Hamilton based on food selection, seating, coffee/ espresso pours/ atmosphere. The Cannon nails everything — from the perfectly brewed coffee to their incredible waffles and brunch options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, SO happy they opened up with this bigger space. the staff are always friendly, and you can tell they really care about quality and community. One fine morning, we decided to skip the school bus and walk to school instead. The weather was spring cool, but the sun added a warm touch. Along the way, we made a spontaneous stop at The Cannon for hot chocolate and we definitely beat the morning rush! The drink was so beautifully presented that my son said, 'It looks too beautiful to drink.' Nevertheless, they enjoyed every sip on our walk to school. We’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

the matcha here was yummy 😋 super fresh and flavourful!! the shop itself is really beautiful, though it is on the smaller side. they did forget our chocolate croissant at first, but the guy at the front with curly hair made up for it by giving us a free s’mores bar, which ended up being extremely delicious & honestly one of our new favourites. great service overall, we really appreciated the kindness & how everything was handled :)

Might be my favourite coffee shop in the city. Everything on the menu is delish, but the waffle breakfast sandwich is probably my favourite. I’ve tried so many of the baked goods, and I can’t stop raving about them. Definitely the best flat white I’ve had in a while too

Always heard good things about it and decided to try it out for a Monday lunch. My SO ordered a waffle benny and Latte and I went for a Canadian Brunch + Iced Chai Latte. The latte was good, but my chai latte lacked spices. Tasted like a nice and cold glass of milk. The food arrived and, although it looked good, it had awful hard poached eggs. On both orders. :/ My SO's benny at least had THE hollandaise sauce, but I was left with no runny yolk to spread around. Egg wasn't even good so I left it on the side. The bacon was good, but the shredded cheese on top felt cheap and that didn't help with my disappointment. Left feeling like I spent 30 dollars and got nothing back. Service was good and ambient is nice.

My husband and I went in for a coffee and had a wonderful experience. Their new space is absolutely delightful. The ambiance, staff and coffee and lemon/cranberry scone we purchased were top quality.

What an experience! I went in with high expectations but was blown away even so. First of all, the most amazing people work here. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, which is something I especially notice and appreciate now as a hijabi, that we felt like celebrities. They were that incredible. I would come back alone for such a warm and cozy feel. They had a little cubby of books for kids that quickly became very popular with my kids. No amount of flying napkins and food or loud noises phased the staff here. The coffee: We walked away with a jar of coffee beans. The caps we got were creamy, frothy and something magical. You'll find coffee for this price but you won't find coffee like this for this price. 10/10 I want to come back and honour the rest of the coffee menu here. The food: I wasn't ready for this. Ordered the Harvest Brunch. Imagine you are sitting in PEI on a warm summer day and right outside your window, you see the rolling hills of farms where your food was harvested. Your greens are lush and crunchy, the sweet potatoes and zucchini freshly steamed soft and flavourful and your peppers crunchy and sweet. The waffle was crisp with some sauce that was DIVINE! Eggs were soft and delicious. I wanted to share, but I could not. It was unbelievably delicious and the freshness was out of this world. I snuck bites of the sweet waffle from the kids plate and it was equally delicious. I would drive here from an hour away easily for food this level. I can't wait to come back. And bring everyone else who appreciates food as I do to be delighted at the Cannon.

It is a nice place for a coffee or lunch. The building of Mulberry Coffeehouse was constructed in 1887 as the Armory Hotel. Although it has been renovated over the years, the original brick walls, tiles, floorboards, and ceiling decorations have been preserved. Bathed in sunlight and filled with the aroma of coffee, time seems to slow down.

Most tables seat two, though there are a few options for groups of four, like a small diner-style table and a couch setup. Had a great time here with my family and girls. I had the steak sandwich and it was priced well and the steak was very tasty and tender. My girls enjoyed their kids meal which came with a drink, Main and dessert. One had the chicken nuggets and the other the butter noodles. All the food was tasty and the girls cleared their plates and were very satisfied. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals as well and had nothing but praise. Our waitress Carrie was very professional and took good care of us. We had one of their s for dessert, it was fresh and delicious! I would recommend Toby's for lunch or dinner with the family or kids. We will be back again! Thank you Toby's 😊

April 15 2025 - AWESOME 😎 breakfast everything was perfect. Mike the server was friendly and on point with coffee regularly and a great smile breakfast was excellent, eggs perfectly done as I asked and crispy hot toast and home fries 😊. Love this place ! Update - October 26 @tobysgoodeats 9:15 am fish and chips at Toby’s ! Absolutely AWESOME 😎 fish was perfectly cooked ,light batter and no oil residue . Fries crispy hot and almost no oil , so crunchy on the outside. Gravy had the most important thing FLAVOUR, I eat at a few places around here and the gravy usually disappoints but not here at Toby’s . Cole slaw was fresh and crisp ,tartar sauce tasty and yummy , in short a perfect meal ! 27.38$ coffee included and extra tartar sauce and gravy . Well worth it ! Kathy my server was fantastic, always made sure my coffee was full and that if I needed anything I got it quickly, another key part of a dining experience. Her smile and laughter made the ambiance very enjoyable and that’s another key factor in a food experience. UPDATE - October 12/2024 - eggs Benedict and it’s AWESOME,love this place ! 4 blocks from my home ,not expensive, great food and great service, very friendly and nice. Out of all the places to eat in Jackson’s Square (most of them are ugh) this is a sure bet to get real food that’s really yummy

Came here a few weeks ago with my son for dinner before attending an event. The restaurant was pretty busy, but quiet, and clean. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the chicken ceasar wrap with fries and gravy, my son ordered a poutine with meat added. My chicken ceasar wrap was excellent and the fries were nice and crispy the gravy was a great tasting gravy. My sons poutine was huge and full of meat and cheese, he said he really enjoyed it and it was very filling. I'd definitely go back here again if I'm in the neighborhood and looking for dinner or a lunch!

One of my favourite Hamilton restaurants. Food is delicious. Prices are great. Service is second to none. I remember when Toby's had multiple locations. I'm glad this location is still around. Do yourself a favour and check it out.

Hello, I have been a patron of this wonderful establishment and have had many pleasant, comfortable and relaxing experiences there. I find their food very good and fairly priced, I usually visit on average two times a month. They are nice, organized and professional. I have many favourites on their menu for example: Spinach Salad, Fully Loaded Perogies and Steak Frites to name only a few. Whether you are by yourself or with friends; Toby's is welcoming. I highly recommend this long standing Hamilton, Ontario restaurant located in Jackson Square. When you're hungry take time to enjoy yourself at this location. Where fine eats and good time abound! I love Toby's. Service is always polite, prompt and courteous.

Vietnamese restaurant
Little Saigon Vietnamese, Thai & Japanese Restaurant is a simplified establishment located in a strip-mall environment that serves well-known dishes from Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam. The ambiance is pleasant, and their prices are reasonable except for the appetizers. Paying $7 for four wings was disappointing. However, the main courses offer generous portions of food. Although there were only four other customers, it took an unusually long time to receive the order - around 30 minutes.
Great food, great service, and a wonderful time! This is our new favourite restaurant. Thank you to our server Ken who was very attentive and provided excellent recommendations on what to get — we had so much fun trying different dishes from across the large menu. The food was fresh and flavourful! We especially loved the Pho and Hue-style soup. Looking forward to our next visit 🍜

Our first time trying food here in Hamilton. Then we fall in love to this restaurant. The owner warmly welcomed us and took good care of us. The food was extremely delicious, we ate it and there was nothing left on the table. The first impression is the restaurant has a lot of local people coming to eat. I'm so proud to know that a huge of local people love Vietnamese food like this. The owner specially introduced us to a new drink: cold peach kumquat, very cool for the summer but I forgot to take a photo. Highly recommended the Little Saigon to the travellers all around Canada to come here and have a trial.

Great atmosphere and their prices are quite fair aside from the apps. 7 dollars for 4 wings was a bit of a let down. The mains had a good chunk of food though. Food took oddly long to take out, around 30 minutes despite being only 4 other customers. There were only two teen servers who weren't very tentative and had to be flagged down pretty often. Overall it was decent but nothing that'll really get me to come back.

We have been to this restaurant every Sunday, the food is good and the service is outstanding attentive. The waiter guy, he said his name is Tom, explained the dishes clearly, brought small bowls for my kids before us asking for, and checked on our table often. We felt very welcomed and satisfied.

Taco restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Bronte Village, Por Vida Mezcal & Mexican is a delightful escape that transports you straight to Mexico. This charming eatery, helmed by the talented Chef Manny Ferreira, boasts an impressive array of tacos that cater to every palate. From Baja fish and spicy chicken braised BBQ brisket to seared shrimp and crispy cauliflower, each taco is a flavor-packed experience.
My partner and I visited Por Vida for their all-you-can-eat experience, and we were pleasantly surprised! The tacos were very fresh and flavourful, absolutely delicious. The churros were another highlight, perfectly crispy and so tasty! The price is reasonable, especially since it includes a flavored water, appetizer, mains, and dessert. Great value for amazing food! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Mexican cuisine.

The freshest food! This restaurant can handle large volumes for their AYCE menu with no problem! Our first time visiting this restaurant was well worth it. I definitely recommend reservations for their Wednesday all-you-can-eat menu. We got very lucky with seating at 745pm on a Wednesday because someone didn't respond to their reservation. We tried everything on the AYCE menu and it was all fantastic. The only tacos we didn't prefer were the raja. Other than this, all options were excellent. The tamarind agua was cravable. Just note that there is a charge for a 2nd glass of it. We finished our dinner with the churros which were hot and fresh. I think I could walk in here and eat 3 buckets of chips with their salsa. All the salsas have flavour. This is a big thing for me. I've been to another Mexican restaurant recently where the food was flavourless. The hosts and servers are so friendly!! We appreciate the education about seating and the menu! We planned to come here a couple months ago and are thankful we never skipped our planned date to visit. Was well worth the trip.

Loved the tacos! This restaurant is always busy for a good reason — the food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. While they do allow walk-ins, you should try to book online just in case. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and had the grilled calamari, pulled pork tacos, and chicken tacos. Delicious!

I had a fantastic time at Por Vida Mexical, a gem tucked away in the Bronte/Lakeshore area. The restaurant has a beautiful patio—perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal outdoors. We ordered the Rajas Tacos, which are vegetarian and come in a set of three. They were absolutely delicious—packed with flavor, though just a touch salty for my taste. We also tried the Salsa Flight, which came with a variety of salsa options and refillable chips—great value and super tasty! To end on a sweet note, we had the Churros with caramel sauce. They were crispy, warm, and perfectly sweet—definitely a must-try. The service was excellent—quick, friendly, and attentive. Parking is conveniently located behind the restaurant, which is a nice bonus. All in all, Por Vida Mexical is a great spot for delicious food, a laid-back vibe, and top-notch service. Highly recommend!

Wow! Fresh and delicious food and great service! Enjoyed a lovely time on the patio with my family. Shared fresh, warm chips and a salsa flight. We just enjoyed a fantastic meal at Por Vida! We found out about this place on Instagram and traveled all the way from Brantford to visit - it was well worth it! The atmosphere is amazing, you're instantly transported to Mexico. My 3 month old enjoyed the music and dancing along. Thank you to our server Tijana, she was excellent and helped to describe some of the menu items to me, without making me feel silly - it's appreciated. We made a reservation early for 5:30 on a Monday at I'm glad we did, the place filled up quickly! So if you'd like a spot without having to wait, I recommend making a reservation online.

Dairee Delite is a must-visit spot in Brantford, offering a classic 50s-style walk-up ice cream experience. With over 60 years of history, this iconic roadside stand is known for its wide range of treats, including sundaes, twist cones, milkshakes, and banana splits. The menu features sundae Delites that can be customized with various toppings and even offers vegan Dole soft serve.
Our new favourite in town. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Even if it's busy they will answer your questions with a smile and patience. We all enjoyed our choices. The dog was welcomed as well. The location is central, lots of parking around. But for the same reason the Ambiente isn't really nice, as it's sitting in a corner lot A few picnic tables are provided but I'm sure more would be welcomed as well. Also some flowers could make a huge difference here. But that's already complaining on a high level

Had a great experience at Dairee Delite! We tried a peanut butter dipped cone and a “worms in dirt”. The ice cream was super tasty, the service was quick, and the prices were really reasonable. Definitely a sweet stop worth visiting!

I found this place online and was instantly intrigued by its charming, old-fashioned look. It absolutely lived up to my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly, and, even with a long line, the service was impressively quick. The ice cream was delicious! I tried the Twist Delight and the Peanut Butter Delight, both topped with whipped cream, and they were amazing. I would definitely come back again!

First time trying Dairee Delite on March 19, 2025. So many tasty options to choose from, but from reading other reviews the Peanut Butter Delite is very popular. So tasty, will definitely return and trying something different every time. Service was fast and friendly. However, I went around 2pm so service will not be quick come evenings and weekends. Especially as it gets warmer. Keep that in mind when visiting.

The lines are long and the offerings are quite basic, but the ice cream was pretty good and at a fair price. The staff did mess up our order, but we ate it anyways and it wasn’t horrible. Blaming the mess up on how insanely busy they were.

All-time favorite place, *Sweet Treats... we deserve all of them* I'm obsessed with this place.🤩 The employees are super helpful and friendly, always happy to recommend flavors or help you decide. We drive 45 minutes from home to get our ice-cream fix at Dairee Delite. We think this is the best ice-cream shop in the region. They have a wide range of sundeas, milk shakes, and even a doggy cone for our fur ball family members. Their ice-cream base is soft serve. If you are looking for different ice-cream flavours, this is not the place for you. Go to one of the chain stores.

Planted in Hamilton is a trendy and modern hotspot known for its vibrant decor and vegan, gluten-free cafe offerings, including smoothies. Despite the common association of tacos with meat and dairy, this restaurant has managed to create entirely vegan tacos that have become a favorite among patrons. Situated in downtown Hamilton, this contemporary hangout boasts beautiful decor and exceptional customer service.
Everything was very good. Probably one of the best vegan places I have been to and just love the fact that it's fully gluten free. Wish there are more restaurants like this. The flavour was really good. The donuts are better than wheat flour donuts in my opinion. They have the perfect level of sweetness and the texture is so good. I also love that the protein ingredients are made in house instead of serving the not so healthy "beyond" or "impossible" brand fake meats.
C C — Google review
My friend and I visited this restaurant spontaneously, without a reservation, and simply chose a spot that was available. I’ve always loved plant-based and vegan cuisine for its unusual flavor combinations and the light feeling after eating it. However, this time, my experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. I was drawn in by the name of a dish and ordered the eggplant. The portion turned out to be massive, so I couldn’t finish it. Unfortunately, the most disappointing part was the texture — the eggplant was excessively greasy. Every bite seemed to release oil, which was an unpleasant sensation. On the other hand, my friend ordered the mushroom burger, which was excellent. The bun was unique and delicious. Both the eggplant dish and the burger came with a generous side of sweet potato fries, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The service, while friendly, lacked professionalism. For instance, the waiter forgot one of the dishes we ordered, which, in hindsight, wasn’t such a bad thing since the portions were huge, and we wouldn’t have managed to eat more. He also forgot the tea, though we reminded him later. As for the drinks, the smoothie was tasty but not outstanding — it seemed the fruits used were frozen. From the appetizers, the falafel stood out as a highlight; we really enjoyed it. I must say, the presentation could be improved. The blue-and-white napkins on each plate felt cheap and detracted from the aesthetic appeal of the dishes. Overall, the venue is spacious, and we found a cozy corner with armchairs for two, which was nice. While the staff was welcoming, I missed the guidance a first-time customer might expect, such as recommendations or portion-size advice. Despite these issues, I wish the restaurant success and hope they continue to improve.

Honestly what a wonderful place! Love the aesthetic and decoration- felt very comfortable and cozy. The food was fantastic- the only , and I mean ONLY thing I would say is the bun for the burger was very dry and crusty … virtually impossible not to leave a messs after eating it. the dill fries were to die for! Wonderful staff and did not take long for my smoothie, and meal to show. Will definately go again and try out some other yummy treats and eats ❤️

This place was amazing. The food was really good and the bakery items were great as well. As we have a couple Celiac family members, this was the first time they were able to order everything on the menu of a Kosher restaurant. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip from Ohio.

I've been here twice. First time it was during all-day Sunday breakfast and it put a huge smile on my face since we had just walked out of another restaurant nearby that we were late for the brunch menu to. 😅 These guys were still serving pancakes after 2PM and they were delicious! I loved the tofu scramble and lentil sausage as well! My second time in I ordered one of the burgers with fries and got a fritter to go as well. The portion sizes are excellent for the price. Though the fritter was not to my liking, I called to ask why it was tough and the manager was able to explain to me that it may have to do with it being gluten-free. He also offered me a complimentary coffee for my next visit, which I was very surprised and grateful for. Excited to visit a third time soon!

Absolutely delicious! Finding vegan restaurants that are also gluten free can be a challenge, but they definitely found a niche. The breakfast bowl was delectable. A large portion and every bite was different. The chickpea sandwich in a bagel came with yummy pickles too. We'll have to come back for dessert. There's a full selection of gluten free baked goods available. From cookie bars to donuts.
Minerva S — Google review
Vegan and gluten-free goodness!! I got the Jackfruit BBQ sandwich with fries, it tastes similar to pulled pork if you've eaten meat. The jackfruit just melts in your mouth. The fries were nicely seasoned, hot sauce is free, and you can get ketchup at the front. My food was ready in something like 5 minutes and the waitresses were super nice. For dessert I had the PB&J cupcake which was good but I might've made it even better by adding some jelly filling. Overall though, I was very satisfied and will be coming back with friends and family! Update 1/14/24: I came here with two family members for brunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food (breakfast bowl, burger, bagel with carrot lox, latkes and PANCAKES). Oh my goodness, the pancakes were SO fluffy and delicious. I will absolutely be back!

The BEST vegan food ever. I had the dish of the day which was a fried orange tofu on rice and grilled veggies, it was epic. My daughter got the planted mac, she loved every bit of it. So flaverful. Chinese restaurant
Mr. Gao is a modern and casual restaurant that offers a variety of traditional Chinese starters, noodle dishes, and stir-fries. They have recently reopened after a hiatus caused by the pandemic, but their food remains as delicious as ever. One must-try item on their menu is the chicken wings, which have been enjoyed by the reviewer for years. The soups are also highly recommended for their delicious and hearty flavors.
This place is the best Chinese food establishment I’ve ever been to. The service is awesome and their pork belly on rice and calamari is to die for! Me and my dad visit Mr GAO’s every month and it is truly a remarkable restaurant! You need to dine in when it’s hot and off the stove!❤️

Great portions and very much affordable! Quick service, and plenty of seats inside. The hot and sour soup is unbelievably massive for the price, so worth it! Scallion pancake is a bit greasy, but it had all the right flavours nonetheless!

Mr. Gao Restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Hamilton’s food scene! As soon as I walked in, I was drawn to the clean and tidy décor, and the warm and cozy atmosphere. The seating is spacious, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, taking their time to recommend some of their signature dishes and even suggesting that we could adjust the spice level to our liking, which was a really thoughtful touch. I ordered three dishes this time, and they were all amazing. As someone from Northeast China, I have high standards for Sweet & Sour Pork and I was blown away by how authentic it tasted here! The crispy, golden exterior and the perfectly balanced sweet and sour sauce were exactly like the flavours from my hometown. It truly took me back to my roots. Aside from , the beef fried rice was also fantastic. The beef was super tender, and the rice was perfectly cooked with each grain separate. The aroma of the eggs and scallions filled the air, and the portion size was huge! It’s definitely worth it, and a single serving of fried rice can easily satisfy a hungry stomach. The Sichuan Style Crispy Chicken is a paradise for those who love spicy food. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the combination of dried chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns gave it a bold, layered flavour. It was spicy but not overwhelming, and each bite left me wanting more. The portion was also very generous, easily enough for several people to share. Most importantly, the prices are really affordable! For such large portions, the value is amazing, and I left feeling completely satisfied.
Wendy C — Google review
This place came highly recommended and indeed, most of the food was good but some complaints. House special fried rice was actually quite dry and the chicken in it had a strange texture and taste... could have used more salt mostly. The wok dry spicy chicken is absolutely NOT as pictured on their website. I wish I'd saved a photo because what we got was dry, chalky looking bits of chicken meat, sure with a good level of spice but mostly bone. It was like they use strange cuts of the chicken to prepare the dish but it looks more rich and dark in colour on their website, not as powdery. The cumin lamb was good, as was the beef with onion. My only other complaint would be that when we called in the order, we were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I'm not a stickler for this and can usually accept if it takes another 5 or 10 minutes... but honestly, when I got there to pick it up, both the person at the front and another staff member looked really puzzled when I said which order I was picking me up. I then heard a ton of frying going on not long after, and ended up waiting a full half hour MORE than what they told me! I was wondering if maybe they had not taken the order down properly and were preparing the rest of my dishes on the spot. So that was not cool. Lastly, their overview states there is parking on site but it's not QUITE true as the parking lot belongs to the Boston Pizza right next door. You still have to walk all the way around to get to their restaurant and that was unexpected and unpleasant especially in the rain. Would have had someone drop me right at the front if I'd known this was the case.
Giselle A — Google review
We are new to the area and choose this eatery because it has a 4-star review. Staff is nice, atmosphere is ok and it is clean. Yet, we are very disappointed with the food. We have ordered 4 things. All....hmmmmn...failed to match what the dishes are called. 1. Veggie and tofu clay pot stew Stew means slow cook or simmer so the flavor of the ingredients slowly come out over time. This clay pot we have, has semi-raw carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms in an obvious ready-made broth, with tofu and some vermicelli in it. No way it is a real stew. It is like a soup which confuses us further - drink it or not? 2. Scallion pancake We know this appetizer can be oily, but do not expect it is that greasy like soaking oily. And where is the scallion? 3. Beef fried rice noodles 干炒牛河 This dish shows what skill level the chef is at - Mr Gao has failed totally. Not only does it has lots of soy sauce, but also the noodles are not cooked through (no, different from al dente). The finished dish has to be dry, and with scallion to call it 干炒牛河!I guess they have redefined this famous dish. It is just fried flat noodles with soy sauce. 4. Chicken fried rice The portion is very small, having used equivalent to a bowl of white rice at most. Chicken is fresh but the dish is way too salty and oily. Each of us (4 ppl) can only get half a bowl but likely that has already exceeded our daily sodium and fat value. We have to wipe our mouth after each bite throughout the dinner and keep sipping water. It is that greasy and salty. I read from the reviews that many said Mr. Gao is the best Chinese food in Hamilton. Well, maybe - in Hamilton - because there is minimal competition. Unfortunately, if it were to open in Toronto, it would not survive for long because the dishes are sub par, not even to match those at low-end food court. The dishes we have, match the old stereotype impression of Chinese food - salty, greasy, and high in msg.

Hammerhead's Seafood Kitchen & Market in Hamilton is a must-visit for seafood lovers. They are known for serving some of the best fish and chips in town, with a great selection of gluten-free options that don't compromise on taste. From delicious pickerel and halibut to mouthwatering calamari, shrimp, and dusted scallops, their menu offers a variety of fresh and flavorful seafood dishes.
This is my second visit within 2 weeks!! Today's special was $1.50 oysters, and they were the perfect size, fresh, the mignonette sauce delicious and tasty. It's much better than the oysters I had recently in Burlington. Hubs had the haddock and chips and stated the fish was moist and tasty! Last week, I had the pan fish special, also light and delicious!! I highly recommend you reserve a table. They've only been open for 2 weeks, and soon, it will be packed. I suggest you run, don't walk!

Went there for a date on Sunday night for the first time and the food was delicious! The server was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. We had haddock and fries and a large coleslaw and got extra fries. We greedily ate it all and were impressed. Then we had their homemade chocolate mousse dessert with berries and that was a great end to the dinner.

I picked up some food on the way home from work, I randomly bumped into my brother who I hadn’t seen in quite some time out front. I got him some extra food on top of my bill, we were sitting down as we were waiting for it. The waitress asked us to leave as we weren’t Sitting down to eat as we had ordered takeout. I found this really quite bizarre. There were only two other tables in the room one other table had about six people at it. The other table had one woman added on her laptop doing work. She did not look like she was eating at all. I felt like it was Truly unfair and I’m just a little shocked at the ask to leave. I would have paid a tip on top of the food that I had. Sometimes it’s really nice to bump in to your brother. You haven’t seen in a very long time. I think your staff needs more compassion and not possibly be discriminatory. It was a very weird and awkward situation. I’m just a little shocked at my personal experience . My bill was about $80 as well. They also skimp out on the fries these days wow!!!

I’m a long time customer at Hammerheads and thrilled that they have dine-in now. Today, I had the haddock and fries. The meal was extraordinarily delicious. The batter on the haddock was light and crispy. The fries were done to perfection and the coleslaw was super yummy. Our server was very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We will be returning much more often to dine in!

We had an excellent time here thought! Celiac safe restaurant (with a gluten free beer option! YEY!) ..and the sweetest server ever! Roxanne looked after us tonight and she was genuine, warm and welcoming. I've always just gotten take out from this place, but we will be back! Our friendly and attentive server really was the best part of our experience! Her menu knowledge and suggestions were appreciated! Oysters were on special for $1.50. (thank you Roxanne for telling us the specials twice) we had the specials tonight and we were seriously impressed. Fish could be a little crispier but nothing to complain about. The house music was AWESOME! Thanks Hammerheads. Y'all knocked it out of the park for us tonight!!

While it is wonderful to be able to eat safe, gluten free food, this was absolutely wonderful! Nice thick pieces of fish (we had haddock) with delicious crispy batter in the perfect ratio. While I was the only celiac, my family truly enjoyed their meals. Food was plentiful, coleslaw was delicious. I cannot recommend Hammerheads enough! Thank you to the staff and chef! We'll be back

Brought 2 kids here for dinner as a family and it was great for a Sunday. Free parking out front. Food options were varied you can have anything from salads, pasta, pizza to burgers and curry! We had the gourmet burger which was yummy, generous portion of fries, the kids mac and cheese which was really filling , again generous portion, and the organic butter tofu. All very delicious. Will come again to try the other dishes. No tips as they already add a 15% on the pre tax value.

I got the buffalo cauliflower wing bowl and oh my goodness it was delicious. I live 4 hours away and I think about driving there to get this bowl again. It was fantastic. The service was also great, everyone was so kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is super cute! It’s clean, easy on street parking, easy to read menu. I appreciated that all the ingredients are listed on the menu items. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, especially those with dietary restrictions. However, even without dietary restrictions, you could find a delicious option for anyone!

The butter tofu was great, but the gluten free cookie was scrumptious!! 😋 I've also tried the sweet and spicy lettuce wraps (my favorite) and the crab cake burger which were all good as well.

Community is a stellar restaurant, I really have nothing but praise for this place. Their food quality is excellent, their service is always great, and the ambience is very nice, great for larger groups or more intimate meals. I have to recommend the gnocchi and the mushroom risotto. I, along with most other people I’ve come here with, can’t resist getting one of these dishes every single time we come. I recently branched out and ordered the butter tofu, and it was really delicious as well. This is a great slightly upscale option in Oakville, for dine in or takeout, I’ve done both with great results. I highly recommend.

Chicken and waffles were delicious! Food and service were exactly what we needed on a Sunday morning. (There was an iPad or something with a very annoying sound that kept going off throughout our meal, please turn that down)

Returned to Community after having issues with some staff. I must say the staff member was very warm and welcoming when placing my pickup order, safe to say the issue has been resolved from previous visits. The food was still warm on arrival and presentation was beautiful of the food. Their new bowl is definitely going to be a go to for future orders and is so filling! Crispy tofu on the side literally tastes like chicken tenders with great seasoning with a crispy outside (love). The Benny breakfast is served with French fries now, but the egg Benny is still just as great and the 2 warm tomatoes is what makes it what it is. Also ordered the Rolo cake for the first time, it's nice, but very sweet. The carrot cake is still my number 1. Overall, a very nice visit with all the food exceeding expectations.

A celebration event and family surprised us to this previously untried restaurant. Of the two staff on duty none of them acknowledged our presence even though they were few feeta away from and us and were not attending a customer. Took a good while to make us sit in a half empty restaurant. The food came pretty quickly and service was just OK after that. The interior is nice. The coffee we started was very weak and lukewarm warm. We asked for a refill and the refill was the same as well. Hollandaise Benny was good, the Just egg perhaps cooked from the frozen ready was good. The Impossible/Beyond Sausage was good. The Hollandaise sauce was well made. Disappointed with the home fries quantity - very few. The Chik’n Burger made from Oyster Mushroom was very good. Crunchy outside and shredded mushroom to give a chicken texture. Just too greasy for us. Again the fries very few - the plate looks empty and not filling for us. IMO not good enough value for almost $25 all in. The Chik’n and Waffles, same Chik’n as the burger good. The 3 piece (?) waffles were great. The fries still less, however there some salad as well. Good restaurant, OK service. Food is OK, a bit pricey for what we got.

Warm welcome, quickly seated for our reservations and drinks came quick. Staff were amazing. We went to celebrate a birthday here and loved it! Great ambiance and delicious food! We ordered the buffalo cauliflower and mushroom pizza as our appetizer (note pizza takes about 20-25 min) but we were definitely enjoying our drinks while we waited. For the main course, we ordered the risotto, Alfredo pasta, Mac and cheese penne and the gnocchi. All were super flavourful and filling! We had to pack some to bring home because we were stuffed! Our tummy’s were very happy in the end :). We can’t wait to come back and try out the rest of the menu! I’d definitely recommend this to all my friends (vegan, vegetarians and meat lovers)! As a meat lover, I completely forgot we were eating vegan dishes. It was that good!

Sweet Beets is a popular vegan restaurant known for its exceptional plant-based food and impeccable service. The lovely and calm atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy dishes like cheese pizza, Boon patty, cheeseburgers, caramel cookies, desserts, pizza burgers, and pierogi pizza. Customers praise the generous portions of fresh and healthy food that doesn't leave them feeling heavy. Highlights include the meaty mushroom burger, flavorful bbq crunch burger, and scrumptious chili cheese poutine.
Staff is great! Very helpful. Food is delicious. Big portions. I had the Backyard BBQ burger with a side of fries. Very enjoyable. Also nice to eat all vegan and feel satisfied. Very spacious compared to some other restaurants on Ottawa st.
Lisa M — Google review
The food was great! It was a big portion and everything tasted fresh. Everything tasted healthy and didn’t give you that heavy feeling you would get if you ate a fast food meal. The mushroom burger was meaty and delicious. My bbq crunch burger was labeled “spicy” but I didn’t taste any spice at all. The poutine was a medium but came out more like a large size. The flavours were delicious! The cheese itself wasn’t melted on the poutine or the burger which was kind of disappointing but still tasted great. Over all a great experience. The presentation right out of the take out containers was excellent. They packaged it beautifully.

Very delicious. Got the Hawaiian burger. Probably top 5 burgers I have ever had. And I'm usually anti-vegan food. Will absolutely be ordering again. Thankyou to the staff who were very patient with us and answering all our questions.

Ordered the cheeseburger pizza and sweet & spicy sausage! Flavours were great, but the pizza dough is more on the thin crunchy side than bready/airy (if you prefer that, this is the pizza for you!). Not pictured is a huge chocolate chip mint ice cream sandwich which was perfect. We also bought two of the hot sauces they were selling which were on sale and really yummy. Will be back to try the burgers and specials.

I guess it is the best veggie burger I have had in Canada. Nice and quite ambiance, friendly staff. Accidentally came to this cafe but it was good that we landed here. Never thought burgers can be healthy too. Definitely coming back.

I have driven from the West end a few times to grab Sweet Beets so far. Absolutely delicious. The Spicy Pineapple burger (beet paddy)is BOMB!! SOOOOO good. The Cheese Bacun Buger (mushroom paddy) explodes with flavor. You feel great after eating them. Chili cheese poutine was scrumptious and to large to even finish. The Confetti ice cream sandwich weighed about a pound and was the perfect way to finish our meals. Lots of frozen items to take home also. Do not sleep in the mozzarella sticks!! So cheesy!! Lovely service and staff. Very clean inside.

I visited Sweet Beets for the first time since dining has reopened in Hamilton. The staff have upbeat energy and are attentive to your needs. The food service is efficient and the taste is out of this world, not to mention the portion sizes! Highly recommend the Greek fry poutine.

The modern french restaurant Bon Temps in Hamilton puts emphasis on French cuisine and offers elevated shareable plates and brunch dishes. The small John South premises formerly home to nose-to-tail restaurant Rapscallion Rogue Eatery is pretty much all about intimacy, with elevated bistro fare that takes cues from French-Canadian cuisine.
Went for Mother's Day for the first time and was blown away! The seasonal pasta was absolutely delicious. Fresh vegetables, amazing flavours! The burrata cheese on top was heavenly. My mom ordered the trout dish and was so impressed! We also got the charcuterie board which they omitted the meat for us upon request and gave us a stunning array of cheese, fruit and dips. The complimentary salad we received so good too. Staff were so down to earth and informative about the menu. Perfect date night spot/special occasion! 🥂

My review is closer to a 4.5/5 but Google doesn't allow that. I ordered 3 apps and 3 entrees with my group and I enjoyed everything except for the bouillabaisse. I paid $42 for it and it had 0 flavour. It was a big waste of money and I barely touched it throughout the dinner. The highlights were the duck liver parfait which was amazing and the limited time item the lobster pasta. Cocktails are a little bit more expensive than other places we've been to. Overall, Bon Temps is French food done really well, but at a premium price.
Andy T — Google review
The restaurant is pretty small and dark. The waitress was very nice and attentive though. We finally tried frog legs, which we couldn’t get twice in Chicago. The menu is pretty limited but anyone can find something for themselves here. The main dishes are really good, and the portions are manageable. The fish here is absolutely amazing, very fresh. Their alcoholic drinks are pretty good too.
Evgeniya ( — Google review
I had a very high expectation for Bon Temps with its 4.8 stars rating, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Upon arrival, I could notice the ventilation was not great here. The smell of smoke from the kitchen was just too strong to ignore even I was just at the door. The cleanliness was also not very great at the table I was sitting at. The appetizers are just ok, a bit underseasoned for both dish and nothing spectacular. The entrée are not bad but the size of braised beef was a bit too tiny. Long waittime for the food too. I would say all the things we had are decent but they are nowhere worthing this 4.8 stars rating.
Yu W — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was delightful, service impeccable, and most dishes were exquisite. We quite enjoyed the frogs legs plus our main courses However, the brussel sprouts fell short, lacking flavor and tasting a bit off, preventing a perfect five-star rating. Overall, a wonderful culinary journey with just a minor hiccup. The boys didn't charge for the sprouts and I'd definitely recommend.

had such a wonderful time at bon temps last weekend. cute and cozy spot, love the atmosphere. would be great for a date night. speaking of a date night- ladies - one of the bathrooms (there are two) has a great full length selfie mirror (bathroom is gold black and eggplant, dress accordingly). now onto the food. i eat at a lot of french restaurants and this was most definitely the best pate i’ve ever had. topped with a blueberry compote, the pate was served at the perfect temperature, for both flavour and spreadability. the bread served with it was warm, light, buttery, and perfection. the grainy mustard and pickled onions added great flavour and acidity when building the scrumptious little toasty. the french onion soup had great depth, the layering of bread and cheese did not mess around, was a large portion, and the serving bowl complete with lions heads was just darling. the frog legs were perfectly cooked, covered in a buffalo-esque sauce and served with blue cheese. perfect for someone trying frog legs for the first time, but personally i would have enjoyed a more sophisticated flavour. pasta primavera was rich and buttery in flavour, yet was a light sauce. served with a large mozzarella ball on top if you’re into that kind of thing, we found it was great without. this pasta is seasonal. the only thing that really disappointed was the bread basket. the bread was toasted ever so slightly and served with cold butter. i know- french restaurants love their cold butter. but the bread wasn’t nearly hot enough for it to be warranted. and the bread itself wasn’t incredible. totally fine, tasty, but maybe not worth the calories. i also took off a point off because the plates had finger smudges on them which is a bummer for presentation and photos. i had a non alcoholic espresso martini- it hit the spot. was missing something but im certain that the thing i was missing was the vodka! :’) overall, i want to drive back to hamilton right now to have more pate. definitely recommend.
Maia — Google review
Bon Temps is a little French restaurant with a really great ambiance. It was really cool that the kitchen was out in the open so that you can see the food being prepared. The service was excellent, even on a busy night (Valentine’s Day). Drinks were yummy, but the food was just okay in my opinion. However, I had the vegan options/modifier, and this isn’t a vegan restaurant. I’d give it another go. This is definitely a spot I’d recommend ensuring you have a reservation in advance due to the select seating. Vegan and gluten free options available.
Amanda C — Google review
One of my best restaurant experiences of all time, honestly. Wandered in with three friends after being disappointed by another nearby restaurant, discovered it was happy hour and all got 10$ New York sours! We split a few different dishes and everything was delicious — the butternut squash sage pappardelle was especially life-changing (it was the daily pasta).

Charming coffee spot in Hamilton! So glad we chose this place for breakfast. The coffee was absolutely exquisite, rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. I also loved the breakfast sandwich; it was both adorable in presentation and delicious. A cozy and delightful start to the day 👌🏻

Great coffee. I’ve never had my order made wrong or had to wait a long time. I like synonym because everything tastes good and the atmosphere is perfect for customers that are looking for an enjoyable spot to slow down. You can’t really be in a rush to get the most out of it. They rotate the Art frequently and they always have a good playlist. It’s noticeable that that staff work really hard and are trained very well at being efficient, knowledgeable, and kind. They’re very task oriented. To me it seems that the owner and manager are absent - but it somehow works. The FOH team really gel but I wonder if they’re ever able to catch a 15 minute break at all.

Synonym is a great local gem in my opinion. We first discovered it summer 2024 during art crawl. We grabbed a seat on their patio with our toy poodle and enjoyed the festivities with some wine. We returned this summer for Sunday breakfast and loved the food we ate. The service is always exquisite and staff is very warm, welcoming and polite. I truly recommend stopping in here!

Synonym is such a gem in downtown Hamilton! It’s a cozy café bistro that feels both warm and welcoming the second you walk in. They take their coffee seriously but also have a great all-day menu, plus a carefully curated selection of natural wines, craft beers, and cocktails. What really sets this place apart is the vibe. It’s not just about food and drinks, it’s about community, art, and culture. The space has a bohemian charm, with a mix of bookshop, bottle shop, and dining all rolled into one. Perfect spot to relax, connect, and enjoy something a little different in the city. Thank you for such welcoming hospitality
Cam L — Google review
My first visit to Synonym did not disappoint. They had a nice selection of baked goods to choose from, perfect as I wasn't there for a full meal but the pastry was filling enough. When I picked up the latte from the counter I was concerned it wouldn't be big enough, but I think the glass just made it a bit of an optical illusion; it was a typical drink size. My only note was the music was a perfect volume (loud enough to not hear other tables conversations but not too loud that we needed to shout) but the pauses in between songs suddenly made the space very quiet. The bathroom also could've used some TLC, but that could've been a one-off. Lovely spot, will be back for more coffee and to try something from their full menu!
Kim E — Google review
Love this place!!! I came here to work and the atmosphere is amazing. Tasty food, very nice matcha tea, friendly personnel, fast WiFi for free. Plenty of space to seat and very nice music! Recommended
Martina P — Google review
Walking into Synonym feels less like stepping into a business and more like coming home. It’s the kind of place that instantly energizes you—not just from the coffee (which is rich, smooth, and expertly made every time), but from the atmosphere and the people. There’s a real sense of community here. I’ve had conversations with strangers who became friends, and the staff treat you like family—warm, attentive, and genuinely happy to see you. It’s not just “good service,” it’s hospitality with heart. The food is just as impressive as the coffee—fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and the kind of menu you can keep coming back to without getting bored. Whether I’m here to work, meet up with someone, or just sit back and soak in the vibe, it always feels like a second home. Synonym has become my go-to destination, not just because of what’s in the cup, but because of how it makes me feel: welcome, connected, and inspired.

C Synonym Café is exceptionally amazing! The associates are always cheerful, kind, and very helpful—especially Malika and Nathalie. They truly go above and beyond for customers. I’m a regular here every morning, and the warm smiles I receive from them brighten my day and set a positive tone. The customer service is outstanding, and the overall atmosphere makes this café a special place. Highly recommend!

Diners rave about the freshness of their meals, particularly the peppercorn chicken and Szechuan beef, which have become local favorites. I’m 27 right now. My family ordered from here when I was a toddler, I remember eating noodles from my high chair. This is the only Chinese food I ordered my whole life. I showed my friends it, (they also loved it), my older sister who lives in Caledonia and has 3 kids, I’d order a tonn and bring it up to them…. One of these past weekends I had my best friend over and talked nonstop about “Joy Inn” , went to order and found out they are now closed. Heart. Broken. I wish I was being dramatic. Will never recover unless they reopen. Would like to start a petition for someone to carry on their legacy …

It was close to closing time and the team at Joy Inn accepted our order and had it ready quickly. The food was tasty- we had a Cantonese chow mein, egg rolls and general Tao chicken. Kind lady, good and quick food.

Always been a great place for food ever since they first came from the Avondale Barton location the old WK wondering are they actually closing today for the last time will it be serving me my Chinese food?
Hank S — Google review
This might have been the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The rice, noodles and ribs were all hard and dry, like they had been cooked the day before and reheated yet the shrimps in the rice were still translucent which means they were undercooked. The spring rolls were filled with an unappealing mush that looked like cabbage with a few strings of carrots and all the food was bland. We ordered from here because it was close; next time we'll drive further and get food that's actually decent.

Hadn't been there in 25 years since working down the street, I was in the area and thought I'd give it a try as I've been so disappointed with Chinese food in the city for the last few years but this was over the top it was how I remembered it fresh made from scratch nothing frozen, it will be my go to for now on

Tonight New Year’s Eve at 5:20pm we order our dinner . The lady on the phone wasn’t our normal lady we speak too . At 5:40 pm we received our food it wasn’t hot . We opened the bags and our green pepper with beef missing . I called right away and told the lady . She told me I have to expect this as it’s new years . No sorry no nothing . my husband heard her say we need to expect this , he wasn’t happy and was telling her loudly that he wants his food or the driver can come back and pick up all the food and refund him. She told him to calm down and gave me two choices . To take a credit for next time . Or come pick up the missing item . I explained to her we couldn’t pick up as we had had a couple drinks and it’s not right to drive and that I would like my green pepper and beef delivered . Again she said she couldn’t do that . But we payed for delivery of our food . I’ve never been treated so rudely by this restaurant as we are regular customers . The lady ended up hanging up on me . I called back and told her that I would like the missing item . She said she would deliver. At 6:27 we received the missing item . We know it’s not the delivery guys fault and we did tip him 10.00 and change . But to hear this restaurant say we have to expect this as it’s new years its unacceptable . Just because it’s a holiday doesn’t mean we should go with out the food we ordered our order was 75.64 . Very disappointed . I don’t see us coming back after the way the lady wasn’t understanding and hanging up on a customer . Not professional at all .

Seriously delicious, high quality ingredients, no fake red-dyed syrup coated chicken. My only complaint would be the hot and sour - which is almost impossible to get a delicious bowl of at a carry out- was oddly sweet. It was still way better than many I have tried what was my least favourite thing of the order. It's definitely my new go to Chinese joint! Also? So speedy!

I think the place is cute and very aesthetically pleasing. It's a smaller shop, but doesn't seem so busy that you wouldn't get a place to sit. I went for brunch. I didn't really like the menu. It came off a bit bland and basic; nothing stuck out or excited me. I got a salad and a smoothie. I added protein to the salad, chicken... But the salad still didn't really hit the spot. Whatever dressing they used didn't have much flavor but it was so thick and hard to spread; it's a dense salad but nothing to really cut the richness and heaviness. The smoothie was also bland. It tasted almost flavorless. A little lemon juice, a little apple cider vinegar, something to brighten it up? No offense, but I've had way better smoothies from booster juice and real fruit smoothies. The place is not cheap, so I was disappointed that the food fell short for me. However, this is my personal experience based on my preference and taste. The staff was extremely kind and timely. I tipped because of the service, but not the food.

For me it's the best coffee place ever. The place is nice with the nicest and kindest staff, drinks are always well made and amazing, food and bakery is amazing, they change their menu quite often which is nice as well even though I used to love some of the old sandwiches they had. Not too mention, it's the place where I met my husband for the first time! So I really really cannot recommend this place enough. Me and my husband LOOOOVE IT and still enjoy coming whenever we have the time

I’ve stopped by a few times when I’m in the area. It has a nice vibe for a solo work session or catching up with friends and a cute gallery in the back area. Staff are okay. Not particularly friendly and sometimes it feels like you’re bothering them—especially on my first visit when I had a couple of questions. It’s usually not too difficult to find seating (parking is a different story). Enjoy the food and especially the coffee, though the food does seem a bit pricey for the quality you’re getting. I would likely come back for the coffee.

Love that they have so many drink options and even different sizes to choose from, which is great! I haven’t personally tried their food or pastries yet, but they look amazing. We were a bit unprepared and ended up missing the gallery this time, but definitely looking forward to checking it out next time

One of my favourite coffee shops. Staff are friendly, the food & coffee is great, and the ambiance is on-point. Most recently had the sunrise wrap and it was great! They have vegetarian and vegan options (e.g. chia pudding, smoothies). They have vegan and GF options. Kid friendly.

I recently visited this café and was disappointed with the service. The female staff member was rude. There was no smile, warmth, or eye contact, which made the whole experience feel unwelcoming. I said 'thank you so much,' but got no response. As someone who loves coffee shops for their cozy vibe, this lack of basic courtesy really stood out. Another time I visited, the male barista was very friendly, 5 stars for him. Hope the management can train the team better to make customers feel appreciated. Won't be returning soon.

I came in on Tuesday night for dinner. The restaurant was quiet, as they were closing in a bit. We ordered the crispy polenta fries, garganelli carbonara, and short rib pappardelle. Everything was absolutely delicious, and our waitress was very accommodating and sweet.

Caro on James is a solid spot for a casual night out. We tried the pizza, salads, and a few appetizers—everything was good and enjoyable, though nothing particularly stood out as memorable or next-level. The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients felt fresh, but it didn’t quite deliver that “wow” factor. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great space for casual hangouts with friends or a laid-back dinner. If you’re in the area and looking for a reliable place with decent food and good vibes, Caro does the job. Just don’t expect to be blown away.

Brunch was being offered when we visited. The atmosphere and decoration are lovely, giving the place a nice cozy vibe. Enough natural light to give it a bright feel. I ordered the caprese sandwich and my friend ordered the omelette. Both came with salad. A portion of my salad greens were wilted and the kitchen offered a complimentary dessert. I enjoyed the tiramisu. They have some non alcoholic options and the one I ordered was delicious, refreshing ginger and lemon.
Minerva S — Google review
I hate to give a 4 star but I had to due to the tiramisu. Start with the pizza ordered a basic margherita pie, was cooked perfectly tasty sauce, good cheese, perfect ratio of crust to toppings. Not the best, certianly not the worst would give the pie 4.5/5. The tiramisu, first off you can see its in a coffee cup which i laughed about with the staff when I picked up the order. I thought I'd give it a fair shot. For context I eat in my car no more than 5 mins away from the restaurant. The tiramisu was runny, to the point that I doubt it was marscopone, tasted like softened whip cream. Even when you dig down to the ladyfingers, it didnt go well together. I would say the taste was bland and honestly left me feeling like a waste of money. Come on guys even a store bought tiramisu is better than this. I hoestly felt like I should go back for a refund of the tiramisu it was that dissatisfying. Literally you could tip the cup and drink it, fitting that it was an a coffee cup.

We had a lovely Saturday night dinner at Caro! We had the carbonara, ricotta gnocchi, polenta fries as an appetizer and a Caro Spritz cocktail. The stand out was the polenta fries, I’ll be back for those! I thought the portions were generous, the food was delicious, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Lauren S — Google review
The food was second only to the amazing service we received. Pasta was fresh homemade and cooked to perfection. Flavours were spot on. Drop in and grab a bite.....you'll be glad you did!
Mike N — Google review
Disappointed. We got two pizzas, Margherita and Prosciutto. My guest’s Prosciutto pizza was supposed to have roasted figs on top, while she got scoops of figs jam instead. We did not complain as she though it was her fault to haven’t read carefully the menu so we carried on. I tried it: to my Italian taste jam was spoiling the otherwise good pizza, overly sweet. I later checked the menu: it said “roasted figs” indeed, and even the instagram account has a picture with real roasted figs on top. The worst is nobody told us beforehand they’d put jam instead. Very, very disappointing. It ruined an otherwise good dinner and I am debated if going back again. Real pity for such location.

The Pizza, Wine and Bread sticks were great and this is really a good date spot. The Pizza was well done and made in a wood oven which was a treat. The wine and appetizers were good, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. Nice design and not loud or chaotic. The speakeasy is next door, which is convenient if you want somewhere for drinks after dinner. Being on James, this is a great spot to start your night and head out from. We'll be back.

Hamburger restaurant
Restaurant
Burger Barn is a beloved eatery known for its mouthwatering prime-rib burgers, which are crafted from fresh Canadian AAA corn-fed beef ground in-house daily. This culinary gem also offers breakfast and comfort food, making it a versatile spot for any meal. Featured on The Food Network's "You Gotta Eat Here," the 7oz burger is a must-try, often topped with roasted garlic mayonnaise and served alongside traditional strawberry juice.
We went to Burger Barn with a couple of friends visiting from Italy, and everyone was impressed! The food quality was fantastic, and the portions were incredibly generous—we even took a few boxes home. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the prices were great. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved this location before the fire and were genuinely devastated to hear about the fire and eventual demolition of the building. It was such a loss for the community. We're really hoping the new one will be built next year — fingers crossed! In the meantime, we’re so happy they’re still serving up their amazing burgers and poutine through the burger truck. The burgers are just as incredible as we remember — flavourful, juicy, and generous in portion size. You can tell the heart and quality are still there. Huge shoutout to the lovely woman taking our order — it must get exhausting repeating the same thing over and over all day long, but she handled it like a champ. She was still smiling, kind, and made the whole experience that much better. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you to the whole team for keeping the spirit alive!

The food here was damn near perfect. Absolutely delicious burger, poutin and wings. I honestly can’t wait to go back!!! We went on a Saturday and there was a line up of 20 minutes but it was lunch time. Great service. Plastic glasses leave little to be desired but worth it!!

The foods here is amazing! Good portions at a great price. 100% recommend. It is a favourite of mine. Very sad that it got brunt down. Looking forward to the rebuild.

Absolutely worth the drive if you not a local as we are not. Super easy to get to and lots of available parking. We ate mid afternoon and the turn over was constant. I could only imagine how busy the dinner crowd would be. The portions are massive, food was so delicious, perfectly cooked burger and crispy delicious fries. The prices are really good for the quality and portions you receive. We will be returning.

I used to go to the restaurant so now I go to the food truck and their food is still amazing! The best burgers in the area in my opinion! Can't wait till they bring back the bison burgers! 🤤

First timers!.. we were advised 45 min wait, but it didn't take that long even if it did, The food is worth the wait! (Even while waiting, ppl passing would also say it's totally worth the wait! We had the bacon cheese burger with Buffalo chicken poutine it was incredible! Couldn't leave without trying the dessert, and that didn't disappoint either the portions of food and the dessert is wow. You'll take out, that's for sure we'll be back again!

I recently visited Burger Barn on Victoria Day, and it was quite busy, resulting in a 20-minute wait for a table. I ordered the spaghetti with chicken, which unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations. The dish had an overwhelming amount of tomato and lacked flavor. However, the burgers were quite good, though I found them to be overpriced considering the taste and portion size. Overall, it’s worth a one-time visit for the experience.

If you're on the hunt for mouthwatering BBQ, look no further than Memphis BBQ & Wicked Wings in Milton. This charming mom-and-pop eatery has been serving up delicious slow-smoked ribs, brisket, and pulled pork for over 20 years. Their signature sauce-drenched wings are a must-try, especially with their unique Hot Creamy Parm option that keeps patrons coming back for more.
Was in the area checking out a bakery in the plaza and stumbled across Memphis BBQ and so glad I did. The food was awesome, with generous portions that definitely hit the spot. Service was also great, our waitress was super friendly and on the ball the entire time. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Milton.
Kurtis — Google review
Came here with a group of seven. Majority of us ordered the hot honey garlic wicked wings. My sister got the ribs and said they were marinated and cooked well. Onion rings were tasty & crispy, and the creamy parmesan wings were very saucy. If you're craving southern BBQ, you can try this place out.
Mia G — Google review
Stopped here very hungry without doing any research, and at first I was a bit worried. The ambiance was below average, with old and worn furniture (not antique or stylish, just dated), which didn’t give the best first impression. That said, the washroom was very clean, which made me feel more comfortable. We ordered wings, chicken fingers, a brisket sandwich, and pulled pork. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for both the size and quality of the food. The pulled pork sandwich and wings were excellent! We had two brisket sandwiches , one friend thought it was just average, while another thought it was very good. Service was smooth, friendly, and without any issues. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place for a quick meal or takeout. I’m sure I’ll be back!

After my kid’s swim meet, we stopped by Memphis BBQ & Wicked Wings in Milton for a meal. The service was attentive, with the staff making sure we were well looked after. The food was solid, living up to its BBQ and wings reputation. We tried a range of items, and each was well-prepared and flavourful . However, the dine in felt like fast food atmosphere.

Some of the best BBQ i’ve ever had, and highly recommend them to anybody. Ordered: Ribs 5/5 Pulled Pork 5/5 Fries 5/5 Wings 5/5 Out of everything we ate, genuinely would order it all over again. It was amazing start to finish. I never expected Milton to be the place that I can easily say I had a top 10 meal of my whole life. If you’re in the area, highly recommend you visit.

The best Indian restaurant in GTA, Dundas location. Great service, fantastic taste of food and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Strolling the streets of Dundas is always a great way to spend a day, but on this occasion I stopped to devour a delicious lunch at India Village. The staff welcoming me were fantastic, the ambience quaint with cultural touches throughout and I loved the music, making me feel as though I was walking into an authentic Indian home. What to order was the trick. I always trust the good folks to choose for me and on this visit, I enjoyed many dishes to tempt any foodies palate with delight. Check out these photos. The signature dish was the Green Sizzler which arrived at my table, sizzling of course, and packed with healthy greens, curry and chicken. Was all so yummy with heat cooked in to my liking. India village is a must visit when in Dundas to enjoy a healthy and affordable lunch (or dinner). Cheers, Spicy Jan, Tasty Road Trips Tours.

I recently visited India Village in Hamilton and had a wonderful experience overall. The staff were very helpful and attentive, making us feel welcome right from the start. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. Most importantly, the food was delicious – full of authentic flavors and served fresh. One thing that could be improved is the pricing consistency. The prices on the website did not match the ones on the menu in the restaurant, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the quality of food and service definitely stood out, and I would still recommend India Village to anyone looking for great Indian cuisine in Hamilton.

Unbelievable!!! How in the world did I miss this place when I lived in Hamilton??? Well lucky for me Janice didn’t. The food here is absolutely delicious. All the flavours melded together. It’s an explosion of taste in every bite. Incredible and amazing are truly understatements for the taste of the different dishes we had. They were perfect in presentation and deliciousness. Now the family that served us. Were they ever nice. What wonderful people. Very kind and helpful for a person like myself who was not at all familiar with the menu. Truly they helped order the perfect food for me. Janice knew exactly what she wanted and was over the top about the dishes she received. If there was a way to rate this place higher I would. We will be back. Again and again!!! Love Always, Janice and Philip

I was craving for food and googled for the nearest Indian restaurant. Ordered for a prawn mushroom sizzler, one of their mutton gravies and garlic naan. Sizzler was most amazing and delicious. I could feel like having food in India. Right amount of spices and equally flavourful. Service was good and atmosphere was nice. Would definitely visit them again if in neighbourhood. Their washroom was super clean too. Note: They did not accept from apple pay.

Great restaurant at an excellent downtown Dundas location which serves authentic Indian food along with great drink options. It's usually packed up, so reservations are recommended. The staff and team are very affectionate and informed and help you with a choice of combinations on the menu.

Have been going for years, and it is consistently great food. I take friends here all the time and somehow we always end up talking about how delicious the food is. My partner is completely addicted to the samba lentil soup, like she needs professional help (she actually dehydrated some to take on a road trip, then didn't really want to share it with anyone else). Owners exceptionally nice folks, service terrific.

Delicious food, warm atmosphere, and great service! The Paneer Punjabi tadka, Saag Paneer and onion naan were especially flavorful, and the staff was super friendly. Everything tasted fresh and authentic — highly recommend for anyone craving real Indian cuisine!

Mike's Submarines is a classic corner store sub shop with a great selection of subs and a friendly staff. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to grab a delicious, no-frills sub at an affordable price. Customers rave about the incredible food and recommend trying out the assorted subs.
Kenny the owner is one of if not the nicest and most professional man I’ve come across and the is very kind and inviting. And the subs have always been good, fresh, and affordable and me and my wife have been coming for years now and never have we had a bad experience. So anyone that says otherwise either is being disrespectful, lying or both.

live so close to this place but never tried. Was recommended to me by my brother and cant stop going back. its great! the prices are so good and the subs are delicious! There are so many options. My new favourite sub spot.

This is the only place I get subs. The store is very clean and the service is top notch. The subs are always fresh and delicious. Made the way you order. The owner is very friendly and gives great service. He has made recommendations on different things to try and they have always been excellent. I recommend this as your place to get subs.
Chris N — Google review
I moved out of the neighbourhood during COVID, and just recently moved back. I was pleased to walk in and see the same face behind the counter, and the sub was every bit as good as I remember from my previous weekly visits. Happy to be back.
Brad F — Google review
It only takes one bad experience in business…. I’ve been to this location several times and every time it has been awesome and the bread always fresh…. This time I picked up a sub with extremely old stale bread… this one experience alone will prevent me from ever returning…. With so many great options out there, why would I waste my money again? Tip: deliver an amazing product every time! Do not think that the customer won’t notice! Don’t lower standards just to make a sale! Zero out of 5 stars!

I typically will order subs from Subway even though it’s not my favourite then I remembered my brother saying how good Mikes is and he was right! Best sub in the city, u won’t be disappointed. The bread, cold cuts and condiments all fresh! Unlike competitors Thanks Mike!

Missing extra cheese on the capicolla sub, found the capicolla meat to be really thickly/randomly sliced; dont get me wrong - more meat is more meat but it was odd and took away from my enjoying the meal. A little bit messy. First time to try a meatball and bacon sub! My son quite enjoyed (extra cheese was there!). I like how the meatballs filled the sub - a decent meal.

The man who works there is super friendly and always makes a great sub. Best sub place around would not want to go anywhere else
