The Discovery Center of Springfield offers an interactive and educational experience for visitors of all ages. With over 200 hands-on exhibits covering topics from DNA to dinosaurs, the center aims to spark curiosity about scientific concepts such as physics, anatomy, and the environment. Itty Bitty City within the center provides a miniature city for younger children to engage in make-believe play. The museum also features a Build a Minecraft Adventure Exhibit that appeals to both kids and adults.
We live in Branson , but visit almost once a week. My kids and I love this place so much ! My boys are 4 and 2, this place is fun for every age. Each floor is something new and educational. Every time we go we find something new ! Definitely buy a membership it’s the best deal!! I’m also a nurse and love looking at the different exhibits myself. Our favorites are the dino area , and minecraft block room. Yes this place gets packed - parties and field trips. However, we still have a blast and don’t mind the crowd. If you get a membership you don’t worry too much about a shorter visit if it’s too crowded for your liking. This is our favorite place in Springfield and what’s pushing us to move here !
Trinity N — Google review
Really disappointed as I have a lot of great memories here from when I was a kid. Everything is either broken, missing a lot of pieces, or a relic from the 90s. Only giving it a second star because the dinosaurs animatronics were neat but I suspect they will be out of order in no time.
Caleb T — Google review
This place is amazing and recommend it to anyone, with or without kids. The prices are great and if you get a family membership it’s even better. With a membership you and your family get in free all year, but there are also other centers around the country you can go to free as well. There are fun learning experiences for people of all ages, as well as special events all throughout out the year. We go several times a year and my son never gets bored of it (even now as a teenager!)
Heather S — Google review
Visiting from out of town and looking to feel some time both my kids 15 and 8 had a lot of fun going all around the building so much to do and see and play here great place to spend some down time or looking for something fun for the kids
Kenneth J — Google review
A pretty good price with a lot of things to do. It was a fun family friendly experience that we all enjoyed. Would recommend!!!!
Stella V — Google review
Had a good experience here with the dinosaurs and all the gadgets of the kids had fun playing with. Unfortunately, I had to leave early due to a very sleepy baby but I saw a miniature golf on the second floor and the third floor had tons of stuff for toddlers I'll definitely be going back. Furthermore, it was cheap and definitely worth the price.
Cawey R — Google review
The staff was very friendly. It seemed to be a kids free for all but the exhibits were very informative and 100% awesome! As a homeschool family we really loved it. It was educational and a bunch of fun! They had stuff for kids of all ages but I would say most educational activities were for 6+ age range.

We enjoyed it. Definitely alot to see. It is geared more toward younger children. I have 2 teens but they still enjoyed themselves.

The Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium features an aquarium with huge tanks full of fish. The aquarium has different environments like the ocean and a river, as well as 4D wildlife dioramas.
We headed north to Springfield, MO and spent four hours exploring the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium and the iconic Bass Pro Shops. If you plan to go — bring comfortable shoes, a light jacket (if you’re cold-natured), and plenty of free time. It’s the largest and most immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world, and it truly lives up to the hype. Johnny Morris doesn’t hold back when he brings his visions to life. Every gallery tells a story — from record-setting game animals to the incredible history behind the wonders of wildlife. Every detail is perfectly placed and thoughtfully designed.

This was the most wonderful experience. My son and I decided to go on a Monday to avoid crowds, and the flow was perfect. There were a lot of people there but it wasn’t congested or crowded. The Christmas lights were beautiful, the facility was extremely clean and we were so impressed with how healthy the fish and other wildlife appeared. Their habitats were very clean and you can tell they are all well cared for. We also were able to pet and feed the stingrays and we enjoyed this so much that we visited the stingray pool twice. Staff were approachable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Loved the museums, they were also clean and well maintained. We had a late lunch at Hemingway’s-food was excellent and the staff were great. The ambience was so cozy-there is a large fireplace with couches available and the aquarium in the bar area is very relaxing to look at. We have visited many aquariums across the US and this was in the top 3 for us. We will definitely visit again!
Elaine W — Google review
The Museum and aquarium are both spectacular. I heard great things but all my expectations were far exceeded. The aquarium especially is just gorgeous. The variety and cleanliness of each exhibit is amazing and the staff is very friendly. If you get a chance to do any of the experiences there, the guides are super kind and knowledgeable. I was there a couple weeks ago and honestly want to fly back just to go visit again. I can’t recommend it enough!
Etgan — Google review
Absolutely stunning facility. I have never had quite as much fun at an aquarium or even at interactive zoos, as I've had here. You can feed stingrays, play in the touch tank, and see all the different habitats the animals live in. There's so much to see and the aquarium is perfectly laid out to guide you to see all of it without missing anything
Jeanette K — Google review
I love coming to the aquarium and especially bringing our grand littles! I love watching their face light up s they watch in awe of all the sea creatures! The jelly fish and petting the stingrays are my absolute favorite!!! Highly recommend visiting. I always plan on returning because it never gets old! 🤌💯✨️🫶
Tammy M — Google review
The sheer size of the exhibits was amazing. One of the fish tanks is probably 35' high and can be seen from several heights. Lots of taxidermy wildlife in beautiful settings. It took us about 3 hours to wander through and could have taken much longer.
Todd C — Google review
Absolutely amazing place to spend a day. Wear your comfy shoes and enjoy learning a lot. It’s suitable for all ages. Handicap accessible. So much to see: learning about water life, conservation, history, fishing, and more. Highly recommended!
Denise C — Google review
I wish we would've had more time, we only had an hour and half so we practically ran thru. We had our daughter and son in law and our son and his girlfriend with us, they loved it! Best aquarium we've ever been in by far! Our son is a fisheries research technician, he wants to go back and spend more time there. Young children would love it too. We saw big sharks, couple of huge groupers and pet and fed stingrays.

Caverns & Caves
Fantastic Caverns in Springfield, North America's only ride-through cave, offers guided tours on custom open-air trams pulled by Jeeps. The expert guides share fascinating stories about the cave's history and geology, making the experience both educational and visually stunning. Visitors can marvel at ancient formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, columns, cave pearls, flowstones, and draperies.
Fantastic Caverns was a wonderful adventure! We wanted to take my 86 year old Mother somewhere that she could enjoy without walking long distances. This tour was perfect! The three tickets together cost less than one adult ticket at some of the Branson sites. Jared was our tour guide, and he did a fabulous job! He was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed his very informative comments about the cave, and his personal stories. My Mother was thrilled with this adventure. We highly recommend this tour for all ages. We will definitely be back with our adult children and grandchildren. This tour was the highlight of our short vacation!
Maria G — Google review
Had a wonderful tour guide. I've always wanted to go inside a cave like this. Due to my decreased mobility, riding in on the trailer, even though I had to bend over and duck at points, made it possible!! Wonderful even temperature and excellent lighting. Enjoyed the history and learning some science on the way.
Daughterofthe K — Google review
To see stalegtight and stalagmites in person is impressive. To see formations that have taken millions of years in person was amazing. Very informative little tour and the guide was humorous. Though we loved the tour and information it is on the pricey side. Truly expected the tour to be more In length. In actually its a tour that stops often to listen to the guide. I'd advise to research prices and compare that to your fascination of underground formations
J D — Google review
Fantastic Caverns offers a unique and memorable experience with its fully guided, ride-through cave tour. You’ll hop aboard a large tram that takes you deep into the cave, with stops along the way to learn about the stunning rock formations and fascinating history of the caverns. It’s a relaxing and informative adventure—no walking required in the cave. There is also really nice gift shop filled with great souvenirs to remember your visit.
SR — Google review
Fantastic Caverns experience is well worth your time. The grounds before getting to the visitor's center are so well kept and beautiful. ( Deer were grazing, when we went.) There is a place outside with the story/ history of the caverns before you go in the visitor's center. The visitor's center and gift store are very nice. In the center there are comfortable chairs to wait for your tour. The jeep trams are roomie and not too crowded. They will allow pictures throughout. You are also allow to bring food ( popcorn from the gift shop) and a drink. The tour takes about 1 hour and is very educational and fun.
C G — Google review
Not as dramatic as some cavern systems I have toured, but it was very accessible, had a great story and you could park several cars inside it. Our guide was authentic and very knowledgeable about the cavern. The story of the cavern's discovery was touching and the performance history of the cavern pre-dates Branson. Every time I am walking on a hill in this area, I think what could be hidden underneath my feet in the earth's drainage system.
George S — Google review
Amazing cave, the drive through tour is really nice. It is perfect for seniors who could not otherwise make a more strenuous walk through a cave system. The cave has beautiful formations and great lighting. Thr tour guides were friendly and informative as well. Overall and outstanding diversion.
Scott P — Google review
A great place to learn about caves, how they form and a little local history. Because you ride in a wagon pulled by a Jeep this tour is great for those who might not be able to walk far or stay with a group. I thought it was a little expensive relative to the time length of the tour but then it was so nice to ride and just look and listen to the guide.

Dickerson Park Zoo, located just a short drive from downtown Springfield, covers 55 acres of land and is home to over 500 animals from around the world. Visitors can marvel at exotic animal exhibits, enjoy a petting zoo, and even take train rides. The zoo offers elevated walkways for up-close encounters with animals like tigers, elephants, giraffes, kangaroos, emus, and lions. Additionally, there are opportunities for animal encounters that can be reserved in advance.
Wonderful little zoo! My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was fun! I love that the zoo offers it's own tour of the whole zoo via signs. You don't really need a map, follow the zoo tour signs all over and it takes you through the whole zoo! Love that concept! My husband and I love zoos and had never been to one with its own tour! Makes it easy. The only downfall to that is while we were there, there were parts of the zoo under construction so the tour signs were misleading only because we couldn't follow it to certain areas and had to back track to see all the animals. TIP: There are maps in the gift shop, so maybe drop in there and grab one if there is still construction. The day we went was a perfect 65°F day and the animals were out and enjoying the weather with us! Our favorite part was the giraffe area. You can purchase greens to feed them and they know it so they all line up and stick there heads through the wooden structure and we got to feed about 3 different adult giraffes. It was VERY COOL!! I would highly recommend! Gift shop has a lot of good stuff too! Always fun to find souvenirs and things to remember our trip! Thank you Dickerson Park for being a great place to visit!
Chelsey H — Google review
Our family moved to Springfield and have enjoyed coming to Dickerson Park Zoo! The animals are great to see and it was definitely an interesting experience to have peacocks roaming around the zoo! The biggest issue is the bridge being out by the bears, which makes you backtrack through the Asia area to view everything instead of circling around. However, it does look like it's currently being replaced, so excited to see repair work being done!
Eric W — Google review
It was too hot for the poor Animals to be outside and to say hi! We saw a few and enjoyed that. Loved the fact that they had restrooms through out the park and food and drink! Loved the gift shop! Big fan of the penny press souvenir machines so I managed to grab a couple. Staff was good. Well maintained area! Fun for the whole family. Bought the tickets online.
Lori P — Google review
What a wonderful little zoo. My wife and I found this place as we were waiting for our commercial truck to be repaired. We went on Wends 9-10-25, and it felt like we had the whole zoo to ourselves. Took about 3 hours to walk the whole park, and we maybe saw 2 other groups of people. While people weren’t seen as much, the animals were all out for viewing. Minus the bear enclosure that was being reworked, every exhibit was open/looked well maintained. Would highly recommend and at only $19 won’t break the bank. Walked in with drinks and food, no one seemed to care. So can probably save some money packing drinks/snacks.
Smitty S — Google review
Awesome zoo! Not quite comparable to St Louis or Memphis, a lot of exhibits were closed with a note that the animals were being treated by the veterinarian. However, the animals that we did see were AWESOME. We loved the peacocks, we got to see an elephant eat, fed goats, fed giraffes, and checked out a ton of reptiles. For a small town, we loved it.
Haley P — Google review
This little Zoo had a surprisingly large variety of animals to view and interact with. The layout is easily navigated. Different paths to see all the facility or partial, with food, snacks, and restrooms strategically placed throughout. Plenty of rest benches and shade as well! Low entry cost is a bonus!
Brian W — Google review
This was such a cute zoo! Me and my family had a blast! Easy to get around but could have a bit better signs since there was some construction going on.
Cortaro L — Google review
Impromptu visit to the zoo on a gloomy Friday morning. The entry fee was reasonable and the park was much larger than I had expected. Even with the arrow signs and colored paw prints i got lost lol The grounds are well maintained with loads of surrounding shrubbery contrasting the black fences. Lots of restrooms placed around the park; which I appreciate the ease to go wash my hands. TBH was hoping not too many kiddos would be screaming throughout the park but idk what I was thinking. If there were 21+ only days (or few hours) at the zoo honestly would be more enjoyable (I have auditory sensory struggles; kids randomly 'screaming' or 'shouting' highten my flight or fight and end up in panic attack mode. really makes it hard to enjoy family friendly places 😪) Did not check out the cafe or the gift shop. I did not try the train. Parking was easy, although, I had arrived 30min after opening. I really enjoyed the lemur, vultures, zebras, blue macaw, and petting the goats. The area to feed giraffes was a decent size but can fill up fast with strollers and wagons. If you plan on feeding the goats take a few dollar bills incase the kiosk is closed. Overall I really enjoyed my trip but amenities are catered for family visits i.e. playground by the cafe, stroller rental although they allow outside strollers, splash pad for kids. the gazebo by the waterfall on the way to the flamingos was the most peaceful spot. i had my ear plugs in but was able to take the out for a bit as i found more monkeys and how to enter the flamingo viewing box.

Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park is a sprawling 207-acre community farm that pays homage to Springfield's agricultural heritage. It offers a wide range of educational and recreational resources for visitors of all ages. The park features an animal barn, demonstration gardens, native prairie and pasturelands, as well as a milking barn where guests can witness demonstrations. Additionally, there's a farm-themed playground and a scenic one-mile trail along Wilson's Creek Greenway.
Nice little pond. We caught mainly panfish and a small bass. Use live bait and the smallest hook possible

We visited today for the first time. My family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! It was a very welcoming, calming, well laid out, clean establishment. There is something there for all ages, adults and kids alike! We definitely didn’t spend enough time there so we will for sure be back!
Sally S — Google review
The playground was really cool and my son loved getting to see the animals. The toddler area was cool but didn't hold my 2.5 yr olds attention for long. The sensory garden was a really cool addition.
Ashlin S — Google review
This whole area is very neat! The playground was fun for all ages, which means you have to watch the little ones but at least it's big enough for the parent to fit in with them. The animal side was well kept, which was nice to be able to enjoy the other aspects of the park without foul animal odors. The gift shop is small but packed full of items, so make sure to take a little spending money. The grounds were clean and obviously well maintained. This park is definitely worth spending an afternoon at!
Cody F — Google review
Honestly expected more. The gravel road made it difficult for strollers and wagons. Once on the grass it's ok. The animals are cute and they have the bouncy houses for older kids but other than that it's just basic. Hardly any pumpkins so maybe best to go later in October or just somewhere else.
Christopher S — Google review
This is a sprawling , publicly funded farm that is beautifully kept with numerous animals that include pigs , chickens , goats , cows , horses and other common farm animals. They grow crops there and have several acres , and it is a beautiful place to take the family and remember a simpler time of how people live off the land. The terrific and safe way to introduce kids to different basic animals at are in our society. They often host. Festivals like the pumpkin festival. We recently visited with jump houses , horse rides riding a various animals and corn rays and lot of other games for the whole family.
Jason M — Google review
This place was awesome for all age groups! We checked out the pumpkin patch, the animals that we could pet, a pond where you can rent fishing supplies from shop and fish there. We had went alittle early so a few things were not ready such as corn maze. So we will be back soon!

Bass Pro Shops is a large sporting goods store with a wide array of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear. The Springfield store is the largest in the United States.
This is the original Bass Pro Shops, right here in Springfield, MO. It is over 500,000 square feet, offering a plethora of sporting equipment, museums, endless taxidermy, dozens of fish tanks, and more. Great place to take the kids! Fascinating museums, very well done construction. Highly recommend stopping if you’re anywhere nearby.

What a fabulous place to visit! So much to marvel at! There are several free museums or other if you want you can pay to enter the Wild Life museum. You can certainly spend a few hours walking around and looking at everything! Remember to look up!

We had an amazing time. We went through all the exhibits, it took all afternoon and was well worth it. I would suggest if you have any health issues be aware there is lots of walking, they do offer scooters. This was the 4th Bass Pro property we have gone to and each one is different and wonderful. We love the exhibits and museums, they are Outstanding! We are not fishermen or hunters but we love Bass Pro.
Gwen C — Google review
Throughout my adult life, I’ve visited Bass Pro Shops in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Omaha, and several other locations across the country. However, I had never made it to the flagship store — until now. I have to say, I was absolutely in awe. This location feels more like a Bass Pro mall than a store, offering an experience unlike any other. If you’re a Cabela’s or Bass Pro enthusiast, this destination deserves a top spot on your bucket list. It’s truly a must-see for any outdoor lover! My only critique is for the fishing department manager. I tried to purchase a Shimano Nasci 1000, but it wasn’t available even though one was on display. I would recommend removing or clearly marking items as out of stock until replacements arrive to avoid confusion.
J R — Google review
We stopped in while in Springfield as a family member of mine had bought a boat here 30 years ago so we wanted to check it out. This location is huge!!! I thought the Clarksville, IN store was big, but this one was MUCH bigger with so much more to see. This one has so many fish tanks in the Bass Pro store, along with an archery and National Rifle Association museum inside thats FREE to look around. So many rifles from hundreds of years ago to look at. We spent over 2 hours wandering around inside, 100% recommend visiting!
Alex B — Google review
What a cool experience. I am from Michigan, and most of our bass pros are on the smaller side, but this place is huge. I really enjoyed the fun museum and I could have spent hours there without shopping. If you are anywhere near this location, I recommend you stop in.
Kevin A — Google review
Worth the stop—even if you’re not an outdoorsy type.” This location is huge and packed with everything from boats to boots. The staff were friendly, and the layout made it easy to explore without feeling overwhelmed. Loved the museum and aquarium touches—they add a lot of character. Great for families, gearheads, or anyone curious about outdoor life. Just plan for at least an hour (or three).
MJ L — Google review
The store is fine. Always fun to walk through and look at all the fish and taxidermy. However, today we came and were walking through the store after going through the aquarium. My 7 month old started getting hungry, so I decided I would make a quick restroom stop and then we would either find somewhere to nurse or head out. In the restroom I used (the ones on the second floor right by the huge stag statue, outside the aquarium/museum entrance), there is a plaque that says “nursing room available ask an associate for details.” Perfect. I went down to the front counter and asked the cashier (appropriately) named Karen (an older lady with tinsel in her hair) about the nursing room. Not only did she tell me no such nursing room existed, she told me that I could go nurse in the bathroom (ew). I questioned her on this, and told her that I just saw a sign that said there was one available. She called who I assume is her manager or supervisor and then confirmed to me that there is no nursing room, but this time told me there were fitting rooms that have the stuff to set clothes on, and I could go nurse my baby there. We went to the museum entrance and asked the person selling tickets (who was quite lovely), and they directed us to the aquarium lobby. We spoke to the lady manning the photo gallery entrance (who was also quite lovely), who told us exactly where the very existent nursing room was.

Absolutely fun place for kiddos! My toddler (18months) loves this place and has been going since 6 months! They have a play area for babies under 2! So creative and a great way for the kids to burn energy! We spend roughly $20 for toddler and one adult.

My 4 year old son and I have come here a handful of times since he was 2. He LOVES it so much. They have several different types of play areas like a fire dept, grocery store, restaurant, vet, auto shop and more. There's a fun water table where kids can make dams and float boats. There's a small stage that's decorated like a fairy tale forest with costumes and also a small enclosed area for kids under 1 year old. Kids have free reign and are free to explore and make believe. It's awesome. Older kids may not have as much fun, but for kids under 6-7, it's a blast!! My son loves to make believe grocery shopping and then take his groceries to one of the play homes to make dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful too. It's a great place to visit for indoor play when it's far too hot or cold outside. We'd visit more often but it's about an hour drive from our home.

We were looking for stuff for the kids to do and this popped up and we are so glad that it did because this place rocks! It sits in the center of a shopping center and is very easy to find. They open at 8am so that’s nice too! We went on a Friday morning and it wasn’t too busy. It was $40 for two kids and two adults which was more than reasonable for the time we spent there. If you’re looking for a place like a children’s museum without the museum and traffic, this is the place! The kids loved it and didn’t want to leave. The best part is your admission is good for all day so you can leave and come back. This place rocks! So much to do and endless fun! We will be back!

It sort of felt like a run down daycare. Toys were just thrown everywhere, a lot of the rooms only had a few items in there. There was no hand sanitizer anywhere, there was a sink on the way out though. It was ok, but not sure it's somewhere I would go back to.

Such a cute play place. We were visiting from out of town, and I wanted my 1 1/2 year old to get some wiggles out. They have an area for 1 year olds that is secure from the rest of the “city” and there’s plenty of imaginative fun to be had for kids up to 5-6. My husband and I just walked around, with our coffees. My 1 year old served me pizza from the “cafe” 🤣 highly recommend for young families. We will be back!

I took my daughter to Itty Bitty City a couple week ago. We had been many times in the past and had a few birthday parties there. It was always so fun for the kids! Friendly staff, neat and orderly toys and activities! But, this last time was really bad. My daughter and I were so disappointed. The toys were disgusting, the carpets was torn and coming off the floor in so many places, and it smelled dirty. There was missing items from all the little rooms. The staff checking us in obviously had her kids there. So there was food and trash all over the tables. The toy sections was gone and half painted. We stayed about 5 minutes and my daughter asked to leave. I paid $20 and asked for a refund. She kindly gave me my money and I thanked her. Just super disappointed because it was such a neat place.

I used to bring my kids here a couple of years ago, and it was a decent spot for them to burn off energy. Unfortunately, it has gone completely downhill, and I’m honestly shocked it’s still in business. The place is filthy. I’m not talking about a few dust bunnies here and there, I mean stained floors, ripped carpet, filthy play equipment, and bathrooms that look like they haven’t been cleaned all week. Several of the play structures had visible grime and what looked like food splatter. My toddler’s hands were black within minutes of playing. There were random toys scattered all over, and most of the play areas were missing so many toys and accessories. I didn’t see a single staff member doing any sort of cleaning and the owner at the counter looked like they couldn’t care less. She snacked and loudly talked on her personal cell phone the entire time we were there. This place clearly hasn’t been kept up and is now just a health hazard. Save your money (and your kid’s immune system) and go somewhere else. We won’t be back.
Bonnie H — Google review
Took my family here! Love the place. Really so much to do! The buildings are sturdy and so nicely decorated! Play areas galore are separated so nicely! My youngest two girls and two grandson's did not want to leave! Definitely very busy on a Saturday afternoon in end of February. But we will be back for a midweek session to hopefully get some more enjoyment with fewer roughhousing younguns. Definitely a place for more active imagination play and not running , screaming and wrestling!

The park also houses the Roston Butterfly House, Gray-Campbell Farmstead, Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden, and Lake Drummond. Visitors can explore paved walking trails and connect to South Creek Greenway.
This is a beautiful park. Lots of beautiful flowers and trees and great walking paths. Ducks, butterflies, birds and other wildlife. It’s definitely my favorite park in Springfield. I just wish the bathroom was open later. They lock the building up pretty early considering how much daylight remains and people going for evening walks. I couldn’t find a bathroom that was open which is frustrating. It’s huge park so maybe there’s an open bathroom somewhere but I didn’t find it.

Been a place i have always gone to clear my mind over the years. Heck i moved to washington state and came back for my grandfathers funeral and still made sure to visit this park to clear my head and talk with an old friend. This park is ada accessible while providing plenty of parking. I highly suggest the hasta garden… who knew green could be done/look good in so many ways🤯. Any one of any age will find something they like here so bring a book a friend or just yourself and touch grass.

A must-see for nature lovers, trail walkers, flower garden fans, picnic havers, and general dilly-dalliers. Even the butterfly house is free and run by knowledgeable volunteers. It’s 118 acres of something interesting at every turn for free!

Probably the best park in Springfield! Very pretty, always clean. You get a good walk around the path. Lots of botanical/educational things as you walk. Nice pond/lake and waterfall. A few rivers to play in when the water isn't too high. Ducks, geese, squirrels and bunnies. Large fountain you can sit and enjoy. Lots of places to sit around the path. Very dog-friendly! Absolutely recommended!

The Springfield Art Museum is the city's oldest cultural institution, showcasing a diverse range of American and global artworks with free admission. With over 10,000 pieces in its collection, the museum offers a journey through different cultures and artistic styles, including painting, textiles, pottery, and decorative arts from Asia to America. Established in the 1920s by a group of art enthusiasts, it has since grown to become a significant hub for art appreciation in Springfield.
Me and a friend went here on a whim on Wednesday, it was pretty fun! a good few art styles/mediums, included a few things about some of the artists, great lighting. also included some things for the general public to contribute to with both a binder full of blank paper to write/doodle a little something in, and a whole room with big wood canvases and free colored pencils to use on the canvas and draw something on the boards! overall very nice, staff super friendly and helpful!

I loved visiting the Springfield Art Museum! The museum has free admission, which is great for a family friendly adventure. They have a good variety of different styles of art. I really loved the Bradi Barth exhibition they had on display when I visited. They have many modern/contemporary artists featured as well. The courtyard is a nice place to relax. The staff here is great. I highly recommend if you're in the area.

Great visit with my granddaughters this week at the museum. No fee, great collections. We really enjoyed the watercolor exhibit. We were even able to vote for our favorites! They encourage you to sit and create for yourself or just take it all in. There was a room that the kids could add their own drawing to the wall as well. Fun. Interesting. Clean. Welcoming.

Had a wonderful visit and enjoyed much of the artwork. Could not share it all here, but I hope the pictures inspire you to visit. We spent a couple of hours just taking in all the art pieces, and they allow you to photograph without flash photography in the gallery. Have fun!

This was a beautiful art museum. I was nervous to take my kiddos but along with having pieces for kiddos, they have an entire room for children to explore art. It was nice to be able to enjoy art in a family friendly environment

It’s absolutely free which was surprising. The amount of art inside is incredible. Great atmosphere and you can spend at least an hour or two admiring the works of greats. You must leave your back packs at the front desk, they will tell you. You can’t bring any weapons inside too, there is a picture telling you on the outside

Unfortunately by the time we got to this museum (visiting from out of town) it was half an hour before it closed. But we still spent a pleasant and fairly peaceful 30 minutes surveying the museum and its exhibits, both the permanent collection and a neat exhibit on watercolors. There is a really nice area for kids that allows them to play and explore with art-related materials. It's not a large museum but it appears to be well cared for.

We were super surprised by the great time we had at this little museum. We've been to many of the great art museums of the world, but this gem we found to be charming. Not stuffy or dark. Nice variety in the exhibits. Interesting modern and temporary works displayed. We spent two hours here.

Really enjoyed the multiple things that the kids can do. We did order pizza and had boneless wings. Pizza was good didn't enjoy the boneless wings as much but we did get different types of sauce to choose from. We did the picture booth every time we go and I enjoy keeping that as a keepsake.

Took the grandkids to play for the day on Sunday afternoon. Got there about two and left when they closed at eight. They had a blast. We got the group passes that included the pizza, drinks and socks. We thought it was a pretty good deal at around $120 I believe. Late Sunday afternoon is a good time to go,there weren’t a lot of people. Several birthday parties were going on earlier in the day, but most people cleared out after 4 o’clock. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again. The Pizza was very good, much better than I expected. Plenty of places to sit down. bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking. Located in the Battlefield mall on the backside.

I wish I could rate a 0 !!! This location is terrible …. My poor son broke his tibia on Sunday this past weekend. He is only two (2) years old. !!!This location is absolutely horrible for children around this age. Unsafe all around… There is no supervision at this location whatsoever.no where for young ages can even play… They are lucky I Signed a waiver, or I’d be suing their place closed ! There’s an area where it’s only supposed to be kids seven and below, and I saw teenagers and above inside of it do not take your children here it is not safe! The worst experience I’ve ever had a trampoline park.
Dani D — Google review
Hours and hours and hours of fun to be had here! I enjoyed sitting at a table getting work done while the kids played non stop. I brought snacks which was nice to not have to leave if kids got hungry. KEEP your socks so you don’t have to buy ones the next time you return!
Bethany W — Google review
Always plenty of room for kids to play. Adults can play too! Or sit and relax! Watch for summer play specials! Outside food & drinks are not allowed except water bottles. Food selections are minimal but they recently added a gluten free pizza made with a cauliflower crust. Delicious! Kiddos liked this pizza better than their regular pizza because it was thin crust. Highly recommend this place if kiddos need to burn off some energy or rainy summer day.

Just had my first experience here and it was amazing. Took my 7 yr old son and his friend, we stayed for almost 3 hours. They wanted to stay longer. They keep it chilly in there for the kids so take a hoodie if you're not gonna play. They do allow adults to play, which I will definitely do next time. They stay extremely busy. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were very sweet and understanding with all the screaming kids. Found out about a membership offer which is a fabulous deal. We had a great time and we'll definitely be going back on a regular with our yearly membership.

Jump Mania offers a vast 8,700 sq. ft. space filled with inflatables for jumping, climbing, and sliding, including a dedicated area for babies and toddlers. Parents are encouraged to join in the fun and can also enjoy snacks from the concession stand. The venue is perfect for birthday parties and other events, with helpful staff and affordable ticket prices.
I have been taking my boys to jump mania for several years now! I like how they rotate the inflatables and change them out. It has a great area for smaller kids. The older boys have had fun in here as well. It is a cheap way to be the heat as adults aren't charged to be here.

It's pretty nice for a place to take your kiddos to get rid of some energy. The availability for food and snacks is convenient, but a little pricey. They also have a few arcade games, 2 skee-ball machines. All in all, a decent place.
Mindy C — Google review
I liked the party my sister had, but as I was there the inflatables were very dirty, I found trash, which means that it's probably unsanitary and could have sicknesses, and near the end me and my friend tried to use the photo booth, turns out it didn't work(there was no sign saying it didn't), and when we went over to the workers they tried to scam us, saying stuff like 'oh well, we have no way of getting you the money back', but when I went over to them again, now with an adult they gave us our money back. Two stars instead of one because they had good pizza
Jasmine — Google review
We recently threw our sons a joint birthday party here and had such a great experience. I really liked that you can rent it out when it's closed to the public to give more room for all the kids to run and parents not to feel cramped. Staff was friendly and helpful. The kids all had a good time.
Sara C — Google review
We selected Jump Mania as our venue for our son’s birthday party this year. We had a great time! One thing to keep in mind is that you can only buy food /pizza through them and bring cupcakes. It is convenient and Godfathers Pizza is delicious! One thing I wish they would reconsider is allowing party hosts to bring a case of water. Having to purchase a certain number of water bottles before / during the party is a nuisance . 🤷‍♀️

Pythian Castle, located in Springfield, Missouri, is a historic fortress built in 1913 by the Knights of Pythias. Originally intended to serve as an orphanage and retirement home, it now offers history tours, ghost tours, murder mysteries, and events. This gothic-style castle stands on 0.9 acres of land and holds a significant place in Missouri's history. The castle has been featured on various shows due to reports of paranormal activity within its ancient walls.
Beautiful grounds and fun experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and polite the entire tour. It is a very big castle and lots of stairs, so definitely be prepared for that. Our tour guide was able to answer all our questions and took his time explaining everything to us. He even offered to take a picture of our family out front.

Took my wife for her bday and we had a blast! The castle was beautiful, and the staff was entertaining. If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to lean into your theme of ww2 on every aspect and ditch the non related decor. We did the ghost tour and highly recommend. The place was busy the Saturday we went.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is a well-preserved site that commemorates the first major Civil War battle west of the Mississippi River. The 37-acre battlefield, also known as Bloody Hill, retains 80 to 85 percent of its original landscape. Visitors can explore the visitor center with war-era images and artifacts, learn about the battles' history and its impact on slavery, and even visit the impressive Hulston Library during their visit.
Today we hiked the Old Wire Trail at Wilson Creek National Battlefield. We wanted to sell our car in Springfield so we looked for a trail near by. 🤗 There are quite a few trails there and many people taking advantage of the area for biking, running, walking, and hiking. Horses are allowed on some trails but we didn’t see any. Although there were a lot of people, it didn’t seem crowded. 🚶 The trail was mostly a gravel road with one water crossing. The info sheet calls the trail difficult, probably because of elevation gain, but it was overall an easy trail. No rocks to hop on the water crossing and our feet did get wet. 💦 For a sort of urban hike it was nice. We got some huffing and puffing in 😅 and a pretty good walk on a beautiful morning. It was fun to see the historical things along the way. 5 stars, would recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Air & Military Museum-Ozarks is a patriotic and hands-on museum dedicated to showcasing the history of the United States Armed Forces. With over 5,000 historic items on display, visitors can explore vintage military aircraft, equipment, uniforms, and artifacts. The museum features interactive displays and restored military equipment such as a Cobra helicopter and a T33 jet aircraft.
Great museum and great volunteer staff. The museum looks pretty small from the outside, but inside it feels much bigger on the inside and there's plenty of interesting things to look at and even touch. The volunteer staff are all veterans. During our visit there were 2 volunteer staff there, and both were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. In the back room of the museum, there is an AH-1 Cobra and a T-33, both of whose flight decks you can sit in. They also have a small gift shop in the front of the museum. Everything in the gift shop was reasonably priced. The entrance fee was also very reasonable -- $6 for adults, $4 for children, and free for military personnel and children under 3. We were even more willing to pay this because it is a 100% volunteer-run, self-funded, non-profit organization! If you're considering visiting, it's a true gem, and I would totally recommend stopping by.

What a GREAT place my wife and I went today 6/5/2025 it was a really nice museum you would never think by seeing the outside that it was so big inside the elder gentleman that gave us our tour was the best , very knowledgeable, he was a pilot and all around nice guy for the price of 6 bucks each it's a hidden gem we are so glad we went !!!

Air & Military Museum of the Ozarks: Where History is Compact, Hands-On, and Absolutely Full of Surprises Let me start by saying—I didn’t expect much. The museum looks small from the outside, and we weren’t exactly walking into the Smithsonian. But then… my boys absolutely LIT UP. 🚀 🎖️ Real Veteran. Real Helicopter. Real Cool. Right off the bat, a real-life veteran (yes, a legit war hero) came over and started explaining how the helicopter worked. And not just “this is a chopper” kind of stuff—he was flipping switches, opening compartments, and explaining the mechanics like we were in a Mission: Impossible pre-briefing. My boys were locked in like he was giving them launch codes. 📼 Cassette Tapes Blew Their Minds And THEN we hit the corner with the cassette player. Oh. My. Goodness. Forget the tanks. Forget the missiles. My kids stood there like they had just discovered fire. “Wait… it just slides out like that?!” “Is this what movies were like in the olden days??” They were pressing every single button on that VHS-TV combo like it was an alien artifact. I haven’t seen that level of awe since they unwrapped their first iPad. 🧭 Compact but Packed with Awesome Yes—it’s small. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in creativity, hands-on experiences, and actual passion. There are uniforms, survival kits, tools, radios, and enough gadgets to spark a hundred conversations. We climbed into a cockpit, spun radio dials, and looked at antique gear like we were shopping for time-travel essentials. The vibe is intimate, not crowded - and it actually lets kids explore without being yelled at by velvet ropes and “DO NOT TOUCH” signs every five feet. ⸻ Final Thoughts: No, it’s not a national museum with glass floors and tour headsets. But yes, it’s unexpectedly awesome. The kind of place where your kids learn something real, touch something cool, and accidentally become obsessed with cassette tapes. If you’re in Branson and want a short but memorable adventure full of old-school tech, hero stories, and wide-eyed “wait, this is real?” moments - go here. We came for the planes. We stayed for the chopper tutorial. We left talking about the cassette player. 😂

We stopped by to fill time on our visit and I’m glad we did. The volunteers were so friendly and took time to explain things to us, and even share some of their personal stories. I love that they let you sit inside some of the aircraft, plus an easy affordable admission fee. It was a pleasant surprise.

Nature & Parks
Jordan Valley Park is a spacious urban oasis in Springfield, offering a variety of attractions for visitors. The park features a water-play fountain, picnic benches, and expansive grassy areas for relaxation and recreation. Adjacent to downtown's baseball stadium and sports complex, the 12-acre park provides a green retreat with jumping fountains, shaded picnic spots, walking trails, an outdoor amphitheater, and unique children's play features.
Drove in to Springfield on a Monday afternoon in May, and had the evening to spare, so went here and walked around downtown. It was pretty neat. Loved the fountain setup, and some of the art around. There was some run event going on, so had to park at Hammons Field. It was very crowded in the park. Close enough to downtown that I could just walk over.
Vipul S — Google review
Beautiful park! The fountains are definitely my boys favorite place to go. They have several sections with fountains, some with bigger splashes and some with smaller ones. The water is less than a foot deep, so my young toddlers could play in it with no issue. Not a lot of shade in the fountains, but otherwise the park is super shaded. There are a couple of places with picnic tables, including one covered area. There is also a small playground. Parking is a little space, but other than that it is a great place to spend a warm afternoon
Savannah S — Google review
Love this place! Such a beautiful part of town! The park has a great place to walk, have lunch at a picnic table or play in the water. It's even open until 11pm
Shelly H — Google review
We had an Angleman Syndrom event there with live bands and about 100 people registered plus a few public wondering in and room for plenty more people. Great place to hold event with outdoor stage area could easily accommodate 500 people or more.
LARRY G — Google review
This park is really cool and has wonderful wading pool areas for kids. There are plenty of spaces to roam around and some pretty neat displays that are interactive. The only thing is that it took me a long time to figure out where I was supposed to park, and I had to go to the Parks and Recreation website to figure it out. For those wondering, you park at the ice skating rink down the street.
Lea M — Google review
My 16 year old autistic daughter is so enthusiastic about this beautiful park the flowing water fountains and the flowers are so wonderful and with the clean smell of chlorine I am not at worried about any bacterial problems. I love it too the water was such a perfect temperature cool enough for the heat and when the sun began to set it was warm and delightful. We spend hours and never get bored or tire of it, also the people are so nice it's really an awesome friendly place for everyone.
Debbrah W — Google review
Nice splash area for the kids to cool off in. The bricks are not attached, so kids pick them up and throw them. The rules say no to do this, but not one person read the rules while we hung out here. Eventually they will destroy the splash area, which will be sad. Still, it's a great free place to spend some time. Parking wasn't clearly marked, but everyone was parked behind the ice skating rink.

If you're looking for a vibrant spot to enjoy some quality time, look no further than Andy B's in Springfield, MO. This lively bowling alley is perfect for everyone—families, friends, or even a romantic date night. With 21 traditional bowling lanes and exclusive VIB (Very Important Bowler) options that elevate your experience with plush seating and attentive service, it’s an ideal venue for both seasoned bowlers and newcomers alike. But the fun doesn’t stop at bowling!
Such a fun place! Honestly, we have only done the arcade, which my kids loved. It is not too big and overwhelming but has great games for all ages. Staff is always helpful and nice. Andy B's also teams up with the local library and has an email and text club where you can get free coupons and play tokens. They also have bowling, a bar and food, and laser tag.
Nicole H — Google review
My family and I just celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday day here. We rented two lanes, showed up late like 20 minutes and they were still holding our lanes which was great because the place was parked, so grateful. Had a blast even though I was designated driver, we then played Lazer tag where my wife got the highest score. Was disappointed in self. We definitely going to have to schedule a rematch.
Jon O — Google review
My kid had such a good time, bowling arcade, food and drinks, nice choice of music playing. Went again and played 1st time Lazer tag staff was so great helping us.
Adrienne — Google review
The game room is generally enjoyable if a little pricy, however I am having to give a slightly negative review due to the menu. On its chicken tenders it specifies "choice of sauce", without indicating limits on what sauces are on offer. If you are not careful you will get wings with different sides than expected.
Daniel ( — Google review
Enjoyable hour of bowling with my grandson. The Ozarks Deals made it even sweeter. Liked having a server to get drinks and food for us.
Angela H — Google review
Kind of disappointed they took out the real pins and now it’s string bowling, and the prices are the same. So it’s kind of pricey for not even being real bowling. This use to be our favorite place to go until they switched to the string pins. It used to be packed and we went on a Friday night and there was so many open lanes still, so I feel others feels the same way. They have an arcade but it’s also pricey. The games are $1.75 minimum per game. Then you don’t get many tickets for the prize area because everything is like 1000 tickets. Food was good but also pricey Experience is just meh. Save money and go to one of the other bowling alleys.
KIM N — Google review
Bowling alley in Springfield with an arcade, restaurant, and bar. They recently changed from traditional bowling to having the pins on strings which I don’t love. Also, there are many arcade games, but they’re a bit expensive (one claw machine was 5$ each play). The food and drinks were all good quality, especially for an arcade. Overall, I’d say it’s a good place to bowl and have some drinks.

This is the cheapest and best putt putt in Springfield. It’s great how they keep all the historical aspects of it and is still fun and inexpensive. Three dollars per person.

Great family entertainment at an abnormally affordable price. We had a great time and enjoyed the course and the creativity. They also have batting cages but didnt participate. Absolutely suggest and would definitely return!

It's only $3 to get in and there's an 18 hole putt-Putt. Nice gentleman on staff at all times. They have batting cages available as well. Highly recommend to bring the family!
Katie F — Google review
Easiest 5 stars I’ll ever give. It should be required by law for every city to have a place like this. Cheap (like, REALLY cheap) quality mini golf. The holes are unique, with tons of fun setups. Seriously, at other places I’ve paid 3x more for 18 holes that are essentially the same. Only downside is that it’s so awesome it can get crowded at times. Oh, and they only take cash.
Braydon S — Google review
I have been coming here since I was a child and tonight I took my brother here for his birthday. His number one birthday wish was to come here. Fun acre has been providing Springfield with affordable fun through out the years. No matter how many times you come, it never gets old. It’s nostalgic and awesome. From our family and on behalf of Springfield, thank you Fun Acre!!! You are the best
Maddie T — Google review
I love this place. Been here twice. It's kitchy, it's old, a little run down but, that is the charm of it. The holes are fun and can be challenging but, not overly so, where the fun is lost. As avid mini golfers, my wife and I are impressed with some of the hole layouts and concrete work. This is a rare gem amongst all of the prefab courses you find nowadays. Something that only comes with an older place. The price is more than fair. If I lived closer I would come more. We will definitely be back. Hopefully this place is open for many more years.
Glenn S — Google review
I went with my preschooler on a Saturday night. It seemed crowded but everyone was conscious of other people and played at a reasonable pace. There was a large age range of people and everyone was very polite. And you can’t beat the price. $3 for 18 holes.

Great, family friendly activity. The Minor League team is very good. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of great baseball stadium type food. Beer. Ice cream Prices are reasonable. Lots of infield games to sign up for- very fun to watch. There are special events on certain days of the week. We watched a hotdog eating contest, a great fireworks show and listened to a good band on their 4th of July celebration. Plenty of parking lots within close proximity- very easy to walk to the stadium.

The Springfield Cardinals suites offer an outstanding game-day experience. The views are fantastic, the staff is attentive, and the suites are perfect for hosting groups or entertaining. Food service is generally great, but the hot dog buns are consistently not fresh—something we’ve noticed on every visit. A simple fix that would make the experience flawless. Still highly recommend!

With excessive heat warnings we brought water bottles to fill. We also brought 1 water bottle less than 20 oz. Had to ask 3 people where to fill water bottles. Water cost was high. Spent $30 just trying to hydrate family then just left after the 3rd. Had spent around 70 for tickets. 10 for parking. We've been many times but think we will pass for awhile. There really should be an exception bringing water in on hot days only. I saw 2 people overheating there. Example of profit over people.

Buffet restaurant
Springfield's Incredible Pizza Company is a family-friendly buffet restaurant and entertainment center that offers an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring pizza, tacos, pasta, salad bar, sides, entrees, and desserts. The large entertainment building houses various activities for toddlers, young kids, older kids, teenagers, and adults including go-karts, laser tag, bumper cars, trampoline park and classic arcade games.
The trampoline park is always a blast and has a dodgeball pit and basketball goal. Go Karts, a wide variety of arcade games, and a good prize selection make for a thoroughly enjoyable outing. The buffet is refreshed pretty often and has baked potatoes, all the pizza you could want, and a decent dessert selection as well. You won't regret checking this place out!
Nathan B — Google review
The food was okay there was a lot to choose from but didn't have the best taste. Gave 3 stars because half the arcade games were not working so it was a struggle to use some machines. I gave 5 stars for service my husband set his card down and a kid picked it up and refused to give it back but the employees gave him his money back and points in the card and they caught the kid who did it. 5 stars for atmosphere my daughter had a great time for her birthday. There are 6 rides total and she rode all of them. They do put the kids in a slower go kart if they are under the age of 14 which my daughter didn't like but it makes sense for safety. They have lots of party rooms available. They have a movie theatre eating room as well as other places to eat and plenty of space. My daughter loved the trampoline area however I don't like that they don't tell you about the socks you have to purchase for $2 ahead of time. They just took the money off the card for both my girls. I saw the sign when I walked up but I do feel they should inform first and ask if we want to purchase before just taking the money.laser tags was fun and so were the other attractions.
Joy K — Google review
This place is nostalgic for us. There are some decent deals if you’re a large family. The buffet is actually a great deal (I mean, the food is so-so), but the arcade is ridiculously overpriced. The minimum price for a game is $1.25 - in some cases that gets you a solid experience, but in other cases you’re paying $1.25 for pushing a button. If your kids aren’t patient, they could spend $20 in less than 10 minutes. I recommend buying a bundle that comes with some attractions for kids. They’re a good way to pass time and keeps them happy. All in all, we always have a good time. Food isn’t the best but it’s good service and the buffet line and establishment are kept fairly clean.
Braydon S — Google review
We loved that they had salad bar some rice and sweet and sour chicken, tacos nachos, baked chicken corn dogs Mac and cheese pizza and dessert plenty of games to play kids loved the trampolines and the VR roller coaster ride
Johnny R — Google review
Our experience at Springfield Incredible Pizza Company was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the staff member at the front counter was unwelcoming and provided little explanation of the available packages. This set a negative tone for the rest of our visit. The food was acceptable, but the game room and attractions were a major letdown. Only one attraction was open, and it operated for a very limited time. We were not informed of height restrictions for the go-karts, which directly impacted our plans since we had a toddler with us. Additionally, multiple arcade games malfunctioned, taking credits without working properly. This location was once one of the best family destinations in Springfield, but the lack of customer service, poor communication, and non-functional attractions make it difficult to recommend anymore. Unless significant improvements are made, we will not be returning.
Preston L — Google review
I was surprised at how clean this place was, despite so many patrons they kept the establishment clean and neat. The food was good but not hot enough. There are tons of games and activities for all ages. The rate was fair. The employees were helpful and friendly.
Suzanna D — Google review
This doesn't look like much on the outside but the inside has multiple different eating rooms each with different settings. One was the movie theater, with a kids movie playing, one is the gym with several tvs showing sports, the other one was the family living room, those were cool but that's really the end of it. The food is all you can eat buffet style with salad, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, chicken legs, hot dogs, pizza and multiple desserts but unfortunately none of it was worth the money we spent. Most of the food was pretty bad tasting and we all ate very little. No where near the 66 bucks that we spent for 2 adults and 2 kids. I would not recommend this place, there are so many better places in Springfield!

We didn't know this place was closed on Sunday. We were able to walk around outside and there are some remarkable statues with stories of Missouri Sports heroes. We actually went here because my son is a sports fan, even though I really am not. We should have checked the hours, but of course it is closed on Sundays. Anyway, the bronze medal statues along the walkway outside are cool enough to warrant a visit, even on a Sunday. Even for a non-Sports fan.

I called the museum. I have a signed and numbered Marshall Faulk print from the Missouri hall of fame when the Rams were in Saint Louis. I purchased the piece at a Branson Chamber of Commerce fundraiser, and they forgot to give me the certificate of authentication. I am waiting for Jack of the Hall of Fame Museum to call me. Hopefully, the museum has the certificate tucked away and will be able to provide it. 😊 Update 2 months later, Aug 1, 2023 Jack never followed through with calling me back. I suppose I'll have to go to the museum when it reopens and ask in person.

Each route seems to offer a good array of holds, so you'll definitely see something you hate and also something you love in each! The setters seem very conscious of heights but potentially less conscious of hand size (or they just want to weed out the soft lol) it really was a great time though, and staff was fantastic and friendly! There are maybe 3 vb auto-belay routes and 4 auto belays with 3 routes each. Their grading is intense, but fair and accurate it's price isn't crazy, so you get what you pay for. Not the best, but pretty darn good!

We had such a fun time at Zenith climbing center. We have taken our boys who are aged seven and eight numerous times as it is fun for the entire family. The staff is very friendly. The place is very clean. And they change course often enough to keep us coming back.
Pierce D — Google review
Fun, unique experience. They have smaller walls and automatic belay lines for kids and different bouldering levels. They showed the kids how to hook themselves up so they could work everything on their own with just minor supervision. Only complaint was it's very pricey. The youth day pass was only $13, but then you have to pay another $7 to rent the shoes and harness. After rentals and tax for 2 kids the total was $44. The kids also complained about their hands hurting. After 30 minutes of climbing their hands were bright red with a couple blisters forming. We left after about 1 hour.

I come and climb here twice a year cause I'm from Florida. Great gym however the grading is upsetting. Y'all should really focus and get a single grade and not grouped. Since I'm only going to climb one day I don't want to waste my energy on something I know I can't climb. If I project v6 then I don't want to waste energy and time on a v4-6 if it's a 6. I want to climb v4 and maybe a v5. This is the only thing y'all need to fix. Other then that great gym with plenty of lead rope and some boulders.

We are out of towners and came in with two boys 8 & 9, they had a blast. This place felt very family friendly. The staff was friendly. The prices were fair. Will be back if we’re in town again!

I first started climbing in April 2019 and haven’t really looked back. Everybody there is super friendly, and all the staff is very knowledgeable. If you become a member you also get a nice discount among other perks. The climbing competitions are also really cool to watch and participate in. Just a really cool vibe there

This is a great place to go for any level of climber. The facility is well constructed with a variety of difficulties of climbing surfaces. Better still is how friendly and knowledgeable are the staff! They're able to work well with adults and children, and they always put safety first. I highly recommend Zenith for a great experience!

Step into the Jungle Gym Indoor Playground and watch as your kids have the time of their lives. This indoor wonderland is perfect for toddlers and young children, offering a variety of activities to keep them entertained for hours. From ride-ons and swings to slides and climbing structures, there's something for every little adventurer. The highlight of this playground is the large indoor sand play area that kids absolutely love. It's clean, non-sticky, and provides endless fun.
Love this place, it's huge! They have an enclosed sand pit, multiple swings and climb houses and plenty of parent seating around the whole thing. My kids could spend hours here. I was a little reserved but the whole place has tons of different toys, with tons of different areas for kids. It will be our primary spot for indoor playgrounds.

Love this place my brother and his ex meet here with the kids almost every week now. The kids love it there. The place is very clean and staff there are very nice. We were there today this third time I have come with them. The toy store there has some great toys for young kids. Love all the stuff they have for the kids to play with or on.

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old, and she absolutely loves the dark room! She gets so excited when we arrive that she can't stop squealing, and dancing around.. It is the best father daughter day we had. We now make it a priority to go every Wednesday morning. She's just excited that she was the very first day.

The Jungle Gym exceeded my expectations. I had never knew of this place and went for the first time about a week ago. The place is very clean and my 2 kids (1 and 3) had so much fun here. I had to one arm carry my 3 year old out as he was not ready to leave haha. Definitely coming back
Lesli S — Google review
Cute place and our grandkids had a good time...but...this place really needs to be cleaned much better. Almost all of the toys had noticeable dirt on them...the slant rock wall had all sorts of dirt and foot prints..and the floor need a good mopping. We've been to other indoor playgrounds in OKC and Colorado Springs that were spotless and had staff making the rounds throughout the day cleaning and wiping... didn't see any signs of that here. And when we took our 3 year old grandson to the restroom, he said 'it smells like a piece of poop in here". Hate to leave a bad review, but this place has so much potential with just some basic cleaning.

Upon entering, you will have to sign a waiver. The young lady at the front desk was kind. My kids had a blast. They really loved the playground set!
Te'Jah S — Google review
A nice sized indoor playground for kiddos up to 8 years old. The staff is very friendly. They have ride ons, swings, slides, things to climb, and small toys. They also have a small baby area to play safety away from the bigger kids. I think my kids most enjoyed the large sand play area.
Ginger O — Google review
Went to a littles 1st bday party there. It was so cool. They all had a great time. The place is large enough that there are swings.formyour bigger littles, climbing jungle gyms, tunnels, activity walls, and the sand pit. So cool. The party room was nice, a tad small, but cool. The bathrooms are nice and the staff she was amazing! The only downfall was one of our littles came out of there with a flea. That could have came from any number of people that come in and out of there. We would go back, for sure.

Sequiota Park is a charming recreational area that offers a variety of activities for visitors. Once a State Fish Hatchery, the park's picturesque setting and convenient train service made it a popular day trip destination. Today, it continues to attract people from all over with its playground, caves, walking trails, and fishing lake. Visitors can enjoy picnics amidst lush green fields, explore caves, or take leisurely walks along the trails.
Great park for families, couples or even singles 🤔 😉 😀 Great park for walking or running. Has playgrounds, a great pond with geese!

One of the better parks in Springfield. Always enjoy taking walks here. Good trails. Sad the bridges are closed right now though. When the runoff fills after rain it makes a nice little river to wade in. Lots of shaded spots. Cute playgrounds. The Pavillion in the middle is good for gatherings. Overall, definitely recommend this park to visitors

It was a bummer some of the trail was closed, looked a bit over grown which was kind of sad, I remember it being so beautiful. Wondering in they are going to spruce it up more next year, I sure hope so.

Busy, yet, I wish the cave and trail were open. Novice, short hike, up to the top of cave; yields lovely photo op. There were tiny bats in the cave , so perhaps that was part of reasons for cave to be closed. I think of a time forgotten when looking at this park. Makes mewonder what facts we actually know of our ancestors and what they had to ensure for shelter and warmth. Really cool park and pond. Bring your own duck food. Enjoy nature!

Wow! This was the first time I had ever seen dinosaur fossils that were actually authentic and I’m not gonna lie the amount of crystals there had me in HEAVEN. I love how informative the workers are and I loved that they taught us so much. I could sit and enjoy it there all day! Definitely a great rainy day activity! We went as a huge family and friends group and had an all around great time. Also super fun for dates if you’re a nerd and like this stuff like my husband and I 💕

This place is worth your time. I can’t wait to go back to visit again. It’s free admission, but donations are appreciated. They have a little dinosaur play corner for toddlers. My daughter liked it so well she didn’t want to let me move towards the back where they keep the cave and mineral items. There were so many cool things to look at and learn. I regret not going sooner. I’m so grateful places like this exist. Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who keep this place open.

I had never heard of this place until we were looking for things to do with our kiddos before school starts. It was so cool and had lots of nifty things to look at. All three kids 10, 8, 4 loved it. Pretty easy to get to. Accessible but there is a gravel parking and might be a little harder to navigate with a wheel chair or stroller. Stay tuned though they have a class room building going up and also waiting on new things coming in.

Really neat place to visit if you enjoy fossils and geology. They have a decent collection of dinosaur and Ice age era fossils to look at, and the other half of the place is all rocks and mineral crystals. They also have neat things for sale like hard to find crystals and fossils. So far I've picked up a mosasaur tooth and an ice age bison bone for very reasonable prices. It's a must see for any rock/crystal/fossil collector, especially if you're after authentic pieces to add to your collection.

I absolutely love this place! I have a family of 4. We got their family membership, which was a surprisingly reasonable price per month. We frequently visit the pool & the kids love it. Thanks to the child care they offer, my husband & I also take advantage of the gym, which has plenty of exercise options. I 100% recommend. Well worth the price!
Amberly M — Google review
This review is long overdue and pertains to just the indoor basketball court. I've had a membership for almost a year and a half. The court is almost always VERY SLICK. It would surprise me if it's dry mopped once a week. I have never even seen someone dry mopping the floor the entirety of my membership. This should at LEAST be done every day, with actual liquid cleaning done at regular intervals. As of now (1-3-25) DO NOT GO HERE FOR BASKETBALL or anything that you need traction for in the gym until it is resolved. Call and ask if they cleaned it today before going. In closing not only is it super unfun to try and play basketball while your literally sliding around, but it's also unsafe. Something a FAMILY CENTER should have as a top priority. Please start cleaning the floor and I will change my review. 1-9-25 Gym was still super slick. 1-14-25 Still very slick. 1-20-25 Very slippery.

We work out here regularly. The equipment is well maintained, as well as the facility. They have a walking track that overlooks the basketball court. They play pickleball there as well. They have a swimming pool with a slide, a lap pool, and the hot tub. They also have a pool table and air hockey. The staff are always nice. And they do have child care available if you are coming there to work out. It is included with the membership, but I'm not sure if it is included with the drop in rate, or if child care is a little more if you do not have the membership. The membership is only $36 per month for a single person, so it really is a great deal. Especially when you consider that you can also go to the Chesterfield location and Don Kinney with the membership. This is my second year having a membership. I did look to see if I could find another place that might have a sauna, for approximately the same cost, but I could not find anywhere that included everything the community center has, for anywhere near this cost per month. In fact, this year I renewed in January during a time where they had a special going on, so I purchased the entire year. Based on the rate I paid, it comes out to around $25 per month. I definitely recommend a membership with the community centers. They do have some really great classes as well!

Chuck E. Cheese is a popular family-friendly chain that offers arcade games, pizza parties, and play zones with a mouse mascot as the centerpiece. The venue provides entertainment for kids of all ages, including indoor playsets and slides for younger children and a variety of games for older ones. Parents appreciate the security measures in place, such as invisible ink stamps on both children's and parents' hands to prevent wandering.
All the workers are so nice! Chuck e cheese comes and dances with my kids and takes the time to hug them and high five all of them. I have been to other chuck e cheeses in the country and this is the best chuck e cheese in the country as far as customer service and friendly staff! They could use a little wider game selection like maybe a air hockey table that I've seen at some of the other chuck e's, but that is very minor. The staff here makes this place my children's favorite safe and fun place to go! I really like the stuffed crust pizza!
Kristen C — Google review
My 4 year old toddler was jumping on the trampolines yesterday for his cousins birthday. The gate to the trampolines was wide open, no one was attending them for the majority of the time we were there, and according to the sign he just needed non-slip socks, which he was already wearing. He jumped for nearly 15 minutes before the rudest worker lady (tall, dark hair and freckles, I’m assuming a manager) came over, pointed him out in front of all his peers and said “YOU. YOU GET OUT!” I approached the woman to ask what the problem was and she said he had to be wearing non-slip socks. Which he was already wearing. Then she proceeds to tell me that we have to purchase them extra from the front counter. So you’re telling me, we have to pay for our food, games, the salad bar is seperate ($25 for two people), and now $10 to jump on their bogus trampolines? I’ve lived here my entire life, had many of my own birthday parties at this location. What’s happened to this place? Who has the NERVE to come up and yell at a TODDLER in front of his peers like that? My son was extremely embarrassed and to the point of tears. The place was filthy, half the games didn’t work that we paid money to play. “Where a kid can be a kid?” NOT. We will not be returning here.
Chrissy P — Google review
They charge separately for a trampoline which makes no sense to any of the parents and now they have a security guard to police the kids. Sad sad sad. The kids only spend a few minutes on the trampoline and then being kids get attracted to other things. Why can't it be factored into the pricing I don't know. Better to go elsewhere is my opinion
Williams B — Google review
Pizza was good, employees were friendly, and "the mouse, the mouse," as my granddaughter kept saying, was so patient! We had a blast!
Kathie L — Google review
Upon entering the restaurant I went to order my kids' food at the front counter. The two staff at the registers were joking with each other and talking about beating each other with things behind the counter. I stood in front of them while they carried on for about 2 whole minutes before being greeted. The teenage boy who was up there was rude and had no regards for the customers. He handed me the play card and walked off before giving me the buzzer. Luckily he came back and gave me one but not my drink cups. We paid $50 for a personal pan pizza that's a red barron $4 pizza from Walmart, a 45 minute play card and 4 tiny drinks. Without knowing the bounce house costs extra, my kids tried to go in. The attendant was rude and slammed the gate in my youngest face. When my wife went to get the food she asked for our drink cups and they huffed and puffed about it. All in all not worth the time or money. Not returning Had half the pizza and all our drinks full at our table. Went to go play some games and the staff has thrown away all our stuff. This place is ridiculous
Brian I — Google review
This was our first post-covid visit back to Chuck E Cheese. My bigger kids 11 & 13 enjoy the games and my youngest (2) loves the ride on toys and all the bright lights and excitement. The food is good, definitely recommend stuffed crust. They usually have some kind of deal going for game cards, last night was free 30 minutes if you bought 60 minutes or above. You are able to pause your game cards once while there to eat or take a break. We like the vanilla cake there and got one just because! ($10.99) They took out the climb thru play tubes and spaced out tables and rides so it wasn't as crowded as it used to be.

Our first time here. It was great! Tuesday night, so no crowd. We played the US side, which is supposed to be easier than the International side. Course is in good condition. Seems obvious that it is well taken care of. Really like the themed holes - Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, Old Faithful, etc. Will definitely be back to play the other side! Great place for a birthday party. People were great and they had everything you needed to skate. However, this was my first time there and the place just needs a good deep clean.
Halley F — Google review
This is my second time being here. I had a good time but I don’t like that they charge if you aren’t skating. If I’m not skating and sitting down I shouldn’t be charged. I just wanted to bring my kids. Plus I feel like they should have more time to skate than breaks in between to dance and play games. I think that should be only certain hours. So I really only get 1:15 minutes of skating and the rest is for games and dancing. Ehhh idk probably won’t come back.

I do love this place. My family and I have always had great memories and experiences here. I've skated here for over 20 yrs. Things have definitely changed. I'm not sure why they're charging for kids to use the pvc pipe skate helper. No one walks out with one. They all stay in the building. Definitely do need to fix their floor. I remember when it was perfect. Everyone used to go there because they had the best floor. You almost trip over parts of it now.

This place is a joke. Came to take my kids to a birthday and had to pay $8 just to come in, and I was like well since I paid I mind as well skate. Went to get some blades and it was another $3 dollars for junk gear.

While this gym may be a decent facility, I am not impressed with the lack of hospitality and friendliness at the front desk. Every time I come in, there is absolutely no customer service or friendliness or even a simple basic and courteous greeting, It’s especially embarrassing and awkward when I bring a guest only to have to stand there for over 10 minutes while the front desk people attempt to figure out how to Apply a guest pass. After over two months of this repeatedly happening, I will unfortunately be canceling my membership. I highly recommend getting a membership at the Pat Jones YMCA as this is a much happier, friendlier and healthier environment for your overall health and well-being.

Rented out one of their party rooms. It was very nice and well equipped for a birthday party. Kitchen with a service bar facing the room. Plenty of tables and chairs. The fee was acceptable for everything they provide to the rental. We will rent here again.
Lonny P — Google review
The facility looked nice. The people at the front desk were rude as can be. Karen checked me in, I went and asked how she was doing. Her reply literally, "ehh I don't give out personal information" what type of customer service is that. The most basic generic ice breaking question you can ask. To receive that type of service, immediately is a joke. Made the rest of the entire interaction awkward and tense. I won't go back based just on the service from the front desk. Karen wasn't polite. Wasn't informative. Pushy with what she needed. I need a gym membership, but as long as she works here, I won't be back. Hope retirement is soon.

Brightspeed Ice Park, located in Springfield, is a popular destination for ice skating enthusiasts. It is home to the Missouri State Bears ice hockey team and offers opportunities for public ice skating and figure skating. The park features two NHL-sized ice rinks that have been frequented by Olympian Gracie Gold. Additionally, there is an outdoor ice skating rink at Big Cedar Lodge with synthetic ice that allows for skating in all temperatures. Visitors can enjoy open skating sessions and rent skates if needed.
This is a great venue. It is fun to skate on the open nights but even better for youth hockey and watching the Missouri state ice Bears.

This was the WORST birthday experience we have ever had here. When it was Jordan Valley, the staff was amazing! Since it has changed to Bright Speed, I will never go back! The staff was rude and hateful. They were not helpful. I paid for my children to have helpers and I was not allowed to touch the helper while they were using them. We felt extremely rushed to get out of the party room even when our pizza was delivered 30 mins late. My group felt like we were being watched like a hawk waiting for another opportunity to nit pick. The only staff member that was willing to go above and beyond was Brett (the party planner).

The Library Station in Springfield, MO offers a cozy and enjoyable indoor experience for book lovers. Visitors can immerse themselves in a wide selection of books while kids can engage in interactive activities such as playing on a train and computer games. The library also hosts various events for children throughout the month, including crafts, learning projects, and book clubs. With helpful librarians and well-organized sections for teens and kids, it provides a peaceful environment for reading or using computers.
The Library Station in Tom Watkins Neighborhood. Is hosting a Free Food Pantry for it's residents. I've tried some of the produce they offer and it's better than what you can get at most grocery stores around here because all the produce is home grown. Please only take what you need because it has to stretch across all Tom Watkins and surrounding neighborhoods.

This is best library in my experiences. It's bigger and more convenient for me. (My only issue is. I just wished they had a section for people who don't have a laptop. To use that area instead of sitting at and taking up a whole table with a plugins. As most tables don't. Which makes it inconvenience for people who need to plug up their laptop like me. when their is only one person) and all their doing is looking at a phone. I just hope they fix this issue? In time we will see? For me personally at 11 am on Saturday 9-2-2023 I had to wait for 2 hours or more for a table with plug ins to be clear? For others may like other locations but this one is going to be the best library in Springfield, Mo. for me . To a point! The staff is really truly helpful and very nice and curiosity. This is all I can say about my experience in this location.

Went in to do research on the computer, and print some paperwork off. No big deal. The good things about this place are that they have public use computers, a large library, and is good for all ages. The not so good but also not bad things are that the computer only allows one hour of time per guest pass, when they almost never have all the computers taken. Was also somewhat noisy. I'm assuming there is a kids area because I could hear what sounded like kids around my siblings age screaming and playing. There was also a guy across from me laughing out loud at his PC. Other than that pretty nice.

Classes are well-priced and my 4 year old absolutely loves going. He looks forward to it every single week. His teachers do a great job teaching the basics for his age group and keeping it fun. Watching the older kids work with their teacher has shown me that kids get pushed to excel if that's what they want. Couldn't recommend this place anymore than I do.

We have had several birthday parties here and each time has been wonderful. It’s affordable and does not require a lot of effort on my part. The best part is how much fun the kids have! They never want to leave! The staff were all engaged with the kids and joined in on the nerf battle. I think they were having as much fun as the kids! They made sure we had everything we needed. We also enjoy coming to open gym. It’s the perfect place for kids to burn some energy. We love it here and we highly recommend it!

Definitely recommend for parties, and their flexible schedule for classes and open gym make it easy to fit in.

Joining Warrior Sports has been life changing and one of the best decisions I have ever made. They helped me to learn how to eat healthy while achieving my goals of losing weight and getting stronger with increased endurance. If you have a goal they will give you the tools, support, and accountability to achieve it. In addition to having a dedicated weight training area, Warrior Sports is Springfield Missouri's best indoor obstacle course and training center, including many of the obstacles you see on the popular NBC show American Ninja Warrior. The trainers are all extremely nice and supportive, and they give personalized attention to ensure you are doing exercises correctly with the proper form to achieve the best results. They also have trainers that can develop nutrition plans that are tailored to your body and current fitness journey. Warrior Sports is a family friendly environment where they make everyone feel welcome. My trainer, Jacob, is extremely motivational and knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. My workouts are fast paced, fun, and challenging. Over the course of a year, I lost over 50 lbs. and became much stronger and more mobile than I have ever been! In addition, I have learned to navigate many of the obstacles and have been able to compete in several obstacle course races. One of the advantages of obstacle training is it helps you build cardio and endurance. All of this has made me more confident, and greatly improved in the way I view my body and the way others view me. I’m extremely proud of my fitness improvements so far and thankful for all of the help from Jacob and the other coaches. If you are looking for a gym to achieve your fitness goals, or you are looking for a change of pace, I highly recommend giving Warrior Sports a try. - Michael B.

I went here for a birthday party and was pretty disappointed. Very small, old equipment that was broken and worn and had nails sticking off of stuff. The staff was young kids busy flirting with each other and playing flirty pranks in the employees “closet/ room” (which I have on video) instead of being on the floor watching the kids and seeing if everything was going smoothly. I would much rather spend a little more money and go to Urban Air or Incredible Pizza for a party. Not with $150 for 1.5 hours. The kids had hardly anything to do.

Meh.. we went on a promo schools out day $5 per person per hour. Could NEVER imagine that cost being higher… everyone has a right to run their business how they would like. But we all had the same questions when we left. Why the extreme control over the darts? Why such an attitude towards the children? You get ONE dart refill. Then you “need to find and pick up darts”. There should be a couple buckets of darts! Your BUSINESS IS dart gun wars, but you get no ammo!! Who wants to be searching for darts, some kids hoard them. It’s honestly a bad policy. Also, just the attitude towards children. Some people love to talk at children, wanted to walk out when she was telling all the RULES. SHE may be tired of telling the rules, our children were respectful and kind children and the TONE was extremely UNNECESSARY, sorry SHE was interrupted ONCE during the rules list… The list of “don’t” was exhausting. Not sure where this place used to be but the current space is small. If you pay full price for this, I’m sorry. My kids had fun, but they have fun with their friends wherever they go.

This place was so cool for the kiddos. All equipment included and there were 2 battlefields for the kids to play. We had a great party here and everyone had a great time. Such a kind and fun loving family. Would definitely recommend!

I had a lot of fun today and so did my family, I personally think that the arena being split in two was a little bit of a buzz kill. It was still plenty of fun but with the arena divided it felt slightly cramped. Combining them would take it from a 8/10 to a 10/10!!!

This place was so much fun! Wednesday July 10, 2024 was my sons birthday. We had a forced change of plan due to another business that had closed down I searched the web to find something different for 5 kids to enjoy. Although the War zone is closed on Wednesday Jill willingly came and opened her doors for his special day! They had so much fun and had so many nerf gun options to choose from! We highly recommend this place! Check it out you wont regret it.

The Battlefield Mall Playground in Springfield, MO is a fun indoor play area for toddlers and young kids. It offers small climbing equipment and a space for children to make friends while parents can relax on ample seating. Despite some issues with customer service, visitors appreciate the opportunity for kids to let off steam while enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and great deals at the mall. Overall, it's a great place for families to have fun together.

Isa B — Google review
It’s okay if your kids are 3,4, & 5 because the climb on toys are small. Of course babies and toddlers can play too but you really have to watch all the wild big kids and the open ends. This play area used to be enclosed but now children can walk out either end. This play area also encourages children to leave the “enclosed area” to play with the tower thing right outside the entrance. Also, I have never seen this place get sanitized while being here and I think it needs a wipe down every 2 hours with all the play traffic it gets. With all that said, it’s a nice little break from shopping for the kids, so it does serve its purpose. I just wouldn’t drive here to use the play area.
•sEaDrAgOn• — Google review
It's a small area but very functional. Plenty of seating for parents and the play stuff is in good shape. Yes it's an openish area but if you keep an eye on your child and not your phone you will be fine. We are from out of town and needed a place for our ten yr old and two yr old to let off some steam from driving all day. Lots of food choices here in the mall too.
Misti B — Google review
The mall recently updated the play area sometime after Halloween and before Christmas 2017.. What used to be an enclosed space is now wide open. That means more opportunity for kids to run off or get snatched. As a parent I wonder if they did a survey of what parents would want, before they redesigned it. It’s also not super friendly for the smaller kids. My daughter can’t go on the slide alone now because she’s too small to climb it on her own and it’s so high I don’t feel comfortable letting her do it alone. She didn’t even want to stay, when usually I’m having to drag her out. So disappointed. 😞
Julie T — Google review
It is always dirty. It is a little play area so I feel there is no reason for it to look the way it does. My daughter was playing with the foam blocks and one of them had a used band aid on it. We were the first people at the play area so I know it was from the day before. It was very disappointing.

Very nice spot for a walk. Enough up and down to get the heart pumping a bit. Some interesting local history and a real, easily visible spring. Perhaps 1.5-2.0 miles depending on which side trails you take. 30-45 minutes for once around the lake.

Plenty of room here to spread out and get away from the crowds. There's some sidewalk for all ages, but most of the trails are uneven with endless rock and root tripping hazards, along with numerous elevation changes. Not to be discouraging, but just be aware. Much of the trail is shaded and there are several benches along the way. There are are also restrooms available.

Lots of interesting scenery in this area, including the lake and waterfall, forest, wetlands and stream. We enjoy looking at the spring that can be seen from the overlook. We couldn't find the side trail that is supposed to go to the stream, but we have walked the loop around the lake and through the wetlands a couple of times. Watch out for ticks. One of our visits was shortly after some rain, and too many mud puddles so we had to walk in the grass to avoid those. Found a nymph afterward.

I love hydrangeas and this has a ton of different oak leaf and pinnacle variety! I loved that it had a more natural feel and wasn’t highly refined and picture perfect. We loved getting to see the butterfly house as well. I’m also a big fan of David Austin Roses so loved seeing those tucked away throughout the gardens (maybe a few more :) ). Thank you for the beautiful gardens and highly recommended! Go visit all of the different areas of the gardens!

Beautiful park, we were pleasantly surprised. Wish there were more restrooms available. Unfortunately, we were a week to early for the butterfly garden.

What a beautiful and peaceful park. Sitting in the shade at Drummond Cove on a very not day, enjoying the cool breeze off the water.

It had so many pretty flowers even this late in the summer. There were lots of people there enjoying it so that was good to see

Phelps Grove Park in Springfield, Missouri is a spacious and inviting park with plenty of mature trees, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, and playground equipment. It's an ideal spot for leisurely strolls and picnics with its bountiful tree cover and rolling green landscape. The park offers brick BBQs for public use, pavilions for gatherings, a trail around the park for walking or jogging, and playsets for kids to enjoy.
I love Phelps Grove Park! The trees are magnificent! They hold so much history. I enjoy just walking around the area. The homes all around the park are beautiful. Hats off to the Springfield Parks Department for doing such a wonderful job with our parks. We really are fortunate to have such great areas to enjoy

My favorite park in Springfield. There is a wonderful music park and two different playgrounds. They are a little more suited for little kids, but I love that there are not really places to fall off! The park is far from the road, so there is lots of space for little kids to run around without a parent on them all the time. My kids love it, too!

It's a nice park. We were there at night, it seemed safe. There was some sort of uniformed bicycle operator with a lot of lighting that seemed to be patrolling the place in some manner. They could've just been the World's Safest Bicyclist though. There's a stage with columns that don't appear to have ever had any structure associated with them. There's a well lit wall that has appeared in music videos. There's an art installation there that could be described by many terms: speech balloon, thought bubble, quote bubble; it's actually an Ernest and Ruth installation. We had a wildlife interaction with an inch worm. I'm not sure what's larval in September in SWMO. Video attached.

Great park for many occasions. From casual Saturday morning play time with little kids to picnic date nights, Phelps Grove has something to offer for just about everyone. Also the trees are beautiful.

Went to the park Labor Day afternoon to hit a few tennis balls. Phelps Grove Park is a beautiful park just south from MSU on National Avenue. Great jogging / walking trails, lots of trees for shade, BBQ stations for those so inclined, swings and play equipment for the kiddos and restroom facilities all surrounded my a very nice neighborhood. Best park north of Sunshine street.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Phelps Grove for a family baby shower at the large stone pavilion. The parking lot was close by but we did have to make several trips to carry everything. Next time we will bring a little wagon. Restrooms were convenient at one end of the building. We reserved the Pavillion with the park office but its a very popular location. We shared the large space with several other parties. Everyone had plenty of room.

Very nice park, large historic shelter house, relaxing .Never seems crowded, Large modern playground. Restrooms are dated but definitely usable. Next to art gallery with free admission, tennis courts, nice flower garden. The park is kinda spread out almost like two or three separate park areas , but as far as I know it's considered all one park.

Our family really enjoyed this park! I loved the accessibility of park benches close to the playground equipment. I also really enjoyed the uniqueness of the music area that had multiple musical instruments for the kids to play on and enjoy. They especially enjoyed the playground zipline.
