Points of Interest & Landmarks
Latin Bridge, an Ottoman-era stone bridge in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a significant historical site. It gained notoriety as the location of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in 1914, an event that triggered World War I. The bridge spans the Miljacka River and serves as a poignant reminder of the city's tumultuous past.
A small but incredibly significant landmark. Latin Bridge is where the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand took place, sparking World War I. Standing there gives you a real sense of history. The surrounding area is beautiful too, with the Miljacka River, charming old buildings, and nearby museums. A must-visit spot for history lovers and a peaceful place for a stroll in the heart of Sarajevo.
Faisal A — Google review
The Latin Bridge is quite basic — just a simple, plain bridge with nothing particularly special or eye-catching about it. When we visited, it was very quiet, and we hardly saw any other tourists around, unlike the busier, more touristy spots in the city. Overall, it’s a quick stop if you’re nearby, but not a must-see.
Highway V — Google review
If you do not know the history behind this place you would probably be looking at some random bridge in the centre of Sarajevo. By which I mean to say that the bridge itself is sadly not that spectacular. But the fact that this part of history is still with us here today is in itself very interesting ofcourse!
Marijn P — Google review
Famous bridge that looks simple but with deep history that changed the world. The site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by Gavrilo Princip in 1914.
J — Google review
A 16th-century Ottoman-era stone bridge that spans the Miljacka River. On this street is where Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb nationalist on June 28, 1914 triggering the outbreak of World War I.
Nursuriati J — Google review
The Latin Bridge, one of Sarajevo’s most popular landmarks! An ottoman-era bridge, at one of the ends of the bridge is the site of the assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria!
Son L — Google review
Sarajevo is a small city. You can see a lot in one day. This is the bridge where Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, which became the reason for the start of World War I. Sarajevo has delicious food. It is a very cheap city, there is a tram. The Genocide Museum is interesting, which is about the genocide during the civil war that took place in 1992-1995.
Lado G — Google review
The northern end of the bridge was the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by Gavrilo Princip in 1914,[1] which began the July Crisis that ultimately led to the outbreak of World War I.

Hotel
Hotel Sana is a trendy accommodation option located in the heart of Sarajevo's Old Town. The renovated townhouse offers bright quarters with minimalist Scandinavian design and quirky lighting details. Despite the relatively small rooms, the hotel provides indulgent touches like color-coordinated orchids and a charming terrace for relaxation. Additionally, guests can enjoy amenities such as parking, a garden, and an on-site restaurant with a terrace.
We stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor. Its window didn’t overlook the outside but rather the sky. Seeing the stars at night and waking up to the view of the sun in the morning was wonderful. The bathroom, bed—everything was clean. The only negative thing I can say about the room is that it took a long time to warm up. Other than that, the hotel's location was very central and close to everything. As for the breakfast, I have stayed in many hotels of a similar standard abroad, but this hotel's breakfast might be the best I have ever had. Different staff members work at the reception, and all of them were friendly and polite. Thank you once again for everything! For our next trip to Sarajevo, we already know where we’ll be staying. ☺️
Sıla Ş — Google review
Great boutique hotel located in old town, perfect for exploring Sarajevo, it’s history, great cafés, excellent restaurants, and museums. The breakfast is excellent with real eggs, meat, selections, pastries, fruit juices, yogurt, bar, and additional fixings. The rooms are comfortable, the air conditioning works, each room has great views, the inside is modern with a traditional twist, and the showers have great water flow. Laundry service is available and it’s very reasonable. We washed about 40 articles of clothing and it cost $20. Highly recommend this place.
Ken K — Google review
Rooms are nice but bit smaller than expected. I was on second level so didn't have any views except old building across. Breakfast is nice, location great 😃. Unfortunately TV in my room didn't work - asked for assistance but was told not possible, luckily didn't stay much indoors
Ella H — Google review
I had room 104. it is not a room, it is a closet. Room length: 250cm. Room width: 120cm. Bed width: 70cm. The window lead to a dark lightwell. Approx. 100cm by 100cm in dark grey colour. With a perforated plate on top so that no larger objects can fall down. The bathroom was comparably large with a nice shower. However, the toilet was squeezed between the wall and the shower. No possibility to clean yourself with paper. The room was extremely poorly soundproofed. When a toilet flushed in the floors above it sounded like it flushes through your head. I didn‘t need an alarm clock as the noise from the kitchen woke me up. I travel 8000km per year by motorbike and have never ever experienced a place like this, on top they charged me 65€ per night for a place worse then a hostel. Complete rip-off!!!!! I would love to add fotos to support
Joachim W — Google review
Superb location. Just cross the street and you are at the old town. Good and general breakfast. All staff are customer orientated and accommodating with good service. Glad I cancel Hotel Presidential and go this hotel. After booking Hotel Presidential, tried contacting them for 3 times go unanswered.
Lun L — Google review
I had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Sana. It's a modern hotel with a lot of "smart technology". Great breakfast, very nice staff, punctual cleaning service. Amazing shower and very comfortable bed! And it is seriously the best location, just steps from the old city!

Sweet, super clean, modern, tiny hotel in great location in Old Town. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Service to/from airport.

3Baščaršija

Mentioned on

Baščaršija, the vibrant medieval bazaar area in Sarajevo, is a treasure trove of historical and cultural landmarks. The 16th-century Ottoman-style Gazi Husrev-Beg’s Mosque and the Old Orthodox Church are just some of the places of worship found here. The 1551 Brusa Bezistan building, now a history museum, once housed a silk market. Additionally, the grand Sarajevo City Hall hosts various cultural events.

Gallery 11/07/95, located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a modern gallery dedicated to commemorating the Srebrenica massacre. The gallery's name signifies the date of this tragic event, which saw over 8,000 Bosnian civilians killed by Serbian militias with the aim of eradicating an ethnic group.
Museum specifically focuses on the genocide in Srebrenica, towards the end of the Bosnian War. Unknowingly spent 4 hours in there cos there's so so much to absorb. The audio guide is a must to really understand the stories behind the exhibits, and also please do spend time to watch the films - they are so powerful in educating what went on and also hitting hard on the emotions and hurt that still lives today in Bosnia.
Ying C — Google review
One of the best museums/exhibits I’ve ever been to. I payed a little extra for the audio guide and I highly recommend doing that - it was very interesting and I learned so much. Definitely a must visit if you’re in Sarajevo!
Fevroniya — Google review
We visited this place just before leaving Sarajevo. I liked the exhibition and the way of its presentation though tickets were quite expensive for a small space like this one. Also, we were informed that the tickets are for two days so we could come back the next day but I couldn’t understand the purpose of it as the gallery has only one permanent exhibition and one ongoing exhibition. Ongoing exhibition had very litte material & it was not going to change the next day. So sellimg tickets with 2-day access is something very time specific and not suitable for tourists. I think it would be a good option to have cheaper tickets for one visit only.
Merve U — Google review
There was an excellent experience at this museum Some great information shared and vivid photos as well Definitely recommend getting the audio guide as well Staff were friendly and easy to cooperate with
Fawad F — Google review
An immersive and touching exposition to tell the tale behind the Srebrenica genocide. The gallery goes beyond just showing pictures but tells the stories of those affected, making the experience more personal beyond the abstract statistics of the tragedy. Our tickets were valid for two days, which allowed us to listen to all the stories and watch all videos over multiple days. It can get heavy and intense to do everything at once. The audio guide is optional at the entrance but you absolutely have to take it.
Bert B — Google review
A poignant and ever-relevant exploration of the key tragedies of the Bosnian war, punctuated with incredible and heart-breaking photography. I would recommend, if you have the time, taking advantage of the two-day ticket to fully digest the content of the Gallery. If possible, visit the gallery before fully exploring Sarajevo. A great way to contextualise the beautiful city in light of the conflict that decimated it just 30 years ago.
Dominic G — Google review
A very moving and profound experience visiting this space. If you only visit one place connected to the 92-95 war make sure it's here. The hope is in the fact that people will try and find a way to co-exist despite the terrible things they do to each other.
Marek B — Google review
I visited this gallery of course to see the war photos, but also partially in order to avoid from the heat of July in Sarajevo. Hot and stuffy inside. Couldn't concentrate on the exhibition. If you take that much money for the entrance fee, you should at least provide the pleasant atmosphere - air condition.

Hotel
Hotel President in Sarajevo is a modern and well-rated hotel located in the city center, close to historical attractions like the Latin Bridge, Sebilj Fountain, and Bascarsija Street. The hotel offers warmly decorated rooms with classy interiors and modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and private bathrooms with hot tubs. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and access to a terrace with city views.
The hotel is in a great location. The car park is a bit tight if you drive a larger car. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit disappointing as most of the hot items were cold or luke warm at best. Still a good experience overall.
Neil H — Google review
Fantastic location and service with a wide spread at breakfast. However rooms are directly in view of the busy street outside with flimsy sheer curtains and solid curtains that don't fully close so you're guaranteed to be woken up by the sun or people can see inside. And rooms are super dark, definitely not enough light to make it feel inviting or welcoming. I would really not recommend staying here, best to stay at the Marriott or elsewhere.
Boris S — Google review
Superb location near old city center. Large rooms, good breakfast buffet. For me, the bed was extremely hard, making it very uncomfortable, even after they added a “topper” (felt more a slim cover, than a Scandinavian style soft topper).
Markus S — Google review
Slightly dated but otherwise excellent room (402). Phenomenal balcony and a location that can’t be beat. Towels were quite scratchy and a bit cheap, but otherwise everything at the hotel including the breakfast and the service were excellent.
Damian D — Google review
Definitely a 5 🌟 hotel for Bosna standards. Location is unbeatable. Breakfast menu could be improved but you have a heap of cafes at the front door as an alternative option.
Dejan J — Google review
The location is easy to reach, but the hotel has no parking and the entrance feels like jumping over hurdles — not fitting for a hotel. The room design is poor and uncomfortable, and the staff’s attitude was unprofessional, with no flexibility or hospitality. A disappointing experience that I would not repeat
Naser S — Google review
Excellent greeting on arrival from valet parking staff, reception staff Haris & Aldijana who gave us an upgrade to a junior suite which was absolutely amazing, clean and all the Mod cons including fully loaded mini bar. The best sleep i have ever had in a hotel, the beds were so comfortable, the pillows were so soft, we didn’t want to wake up. Very welcoming staff in the restaurant who we were able to chat to, the most delicious selection of breakfast hot and cold and the coffee is to die for. Secure parking will put you at rest too, all of that and the cream on the cake was the Hotel is right in the heart of the city in the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre. On departure the reception staff were amazing too, if i could rank this more than 5⭐️ i would give this hotel all these stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great job everybody and keep up the excellent standards you are delivering. Ps: and last but not least Dont forget the cleaning staff who make sure the hotel is kept up to the highest standards, please show your gratitude and leave them a tip. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel. See you next year Mr Ramadan
James B — Google review
Had a lovely stay here last month. The housekeeping team in particular deserves recognition- they clean the room in such detail daily without fail, no matter what time we left the room. They always replaced the linen without asking. The staff at reception were also kind and helpful. For the decent price, was an excellent location. Carpets in the rooms could be modernised (very dark colour, patterned) but overall neat and tidy rooms. The perfect stay, thank you all.

Baščaršija is a historic market in Sarajevo's Old Town, dating back to the 1400s. It was originally built as a caravanserai and has since evolved into a bustling Oriental bazaar with mosques, hammams, and cobbled alleyways. The district became a thriving trading hub in the 17th century, housing numerous workshops practicing various crafts.
Sarajevo is a beautiful city full of history, culture, and warm people. From the lively streets of Baščaršija to stunning mountain views, every corner is worth exploring. Delicious food, unique coffee, and unforgettable experiences make this city a must-visit!

Sarajevo is such a unique and fascinating city it is full of history, culture, and charm. You can feel the mix of East and West everywhere: Ottoman-era bazaars, Austro-Hungarian streets, and modern city life all side by side. Walk through Baščaršija, find a coffee shop and enjoy the Bosnian coffee
J — Google review
This area is obviously very touristy but part of its charm comes from all the people just relaxing at cafes. I went in the afternoon around 3 pm and it was quite busy. I also plan to drop by earlier in the day when it is a bit quieter. It is the part of town where you can transport yourself back to what it might have been like in “ye olden days”
Heather P — Google review
Baščaršija is Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city. Baščaršija was built in the 15th century when Isa-beg Ishaković founded the city. On Baščaršija there are several important historic buildings, such as the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque and Sahat-kula. Today Baščaršija is the major tourist attraction of Sarajevo. In the local coffee shop they serv the best coffee.

Baščaršija, Sarajevo — What an amazing experience! The whole area has such a traditional and unique vibe, full of history, charm, and life. The food and sweets are absolutely delicious, and the people are incredibly kind and welcoming. Walking through Baščaršija feels like stepping back in time — a must-visit for anyone coming to Sarajevo!
Emma J — Google review
Baščaršija is Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city. Baščaršija was built in the 15th century when Isa-beg Isaković founded the entire town. The word Baščaršija comes from the word "baš", which means "main" in Turkish, so Baščaršija means "main bazaar". Due to a big fire in the 19th century, today's Baščaršija is twice as small as it used to be. Baščaršija is located on the northern bank of the river Miljacka, in the municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo. Baščaršija is home to several important historical buildings, such as the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower. Today, Baščaršija is the main tourist attraction of the city of Sarajevo.
Aleksandra N — Google review
One of the most important places in Sarajevo. Dating back to the 1400s, its old historical character still gives you a strong sense of the past. It was once used as a market, and even today it continues to serve a similar purpose. Visiting Bosnia without coming here would make your trip feel incomplete.
Jom B — Google review
Baščaršija – the movie’s beating heart. Cobblestones echo underfoot as pigeons swirl around the Sebilj fountain and the scent of ćevapi drifts from copper grills. Ottoman alleys spill into cafés where Bosnian coffee steams in tiny fildžani, and every shop window glints with hand-hammered džezve. This 15th-century bazaar survived empires, sieges, and fire—now it hums with life, laughter, and the quiet defiance that carried Sarajevo through its darkest days. In the rubble of ’92, Vedran Smailović played his cello for 22 days straight; tonight, Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 still rings in the air like a promise that beauty can rise from ruins. The perfect overture to the city that called us here.

Nestled in the pine-forested Trebevic hills just a short drive from Sarajevo's Old Town, Pino Nature Hotel offers a serene mountain retreat with comfortable rooms and a range of amenities. The hotel features polished quarters with an airy restaurant and free breakfast, providing guests with a cozy ski-chic feel.
Great view and design. The owner has a great mind to think about every small detail inside and outside the hotel. Kids area is available. People enjoy spending a day use around. Room was very clean, wide and had an excellent view. Services were very well and staff were friendly and helpful. Location isn’t that near to the city and we were very worried about the way to go to the city but it was a great surprise to use a cable car which is just 10 minutes a walk from the hotel and we used it to go down to the city and up again to the hotel, so no worries if you don’t want to rent a car or use the taxis. Also the view point is beautiful to see the sunset and enjoy time there. Even walking in nature around the hotel was helpful in getting peaceful mind and clear soul. The hotel is very suitable for yoga and meditation. I and my friend enjoyed our stay.
Margret R — Google review
We booked this hotel because it’s halal-friendly and has a swimming pool, but it didn’t meet our expectations. The location is nice and surrounded by trees, but the nearest café or market is a 20-minute drive, so you really need a car. Food and drinks are also quite expensive. The pool was only open for 2 days during our week-long stay. Rooms were not very clean, with old dusty furniture, lots of flies in the bathroom, and no windows that could be opened, making it feel stuffy. Privacy is also an issue since rooms can be seen from outside unless curtains are kept closed. Breakfast was decent, and the staff were generally friendly, but TVs only have local channels and are not smart. Overall, it’s fine for a short stay if you’re mainly here for hiking, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer holiday.
Muhammed Ö — Google review
Reading the previous reviews I had nice expectations about this hotel. But unfortunately I got disappointed. The first day we arrived it seemed incredible. Beautiful architecture, nice clean and spacious room, kind welcoming from the reception staff. However, the main reason we booked this hotel was to have a RELAXING holiday, and that is basically impossible here. There is loud music everywhere 24/7 - even in the wellness area with a sign “silent please”, there is still loud pop / folkolirstic music in the background. I didn’t manage to find a quiet spot where to enjoy reading my book for 30 min. Furthermore, the wellness area was practically inaccessible for us. The first two days we were there it was reserved for “woman only” because of halal reasons, the third day we already booked a tour out of the city, the 4th and last day finally we wanted to use it but there were workers cleaning and adjusting something during the morning. Then in the afternoon we tried again but there was a problem with one of the machines which was making a big noise - not ideal to relax. On the good side, the location is great for quiet walks in the forests. Also going down to the city is quite easy via the cable car / taxi. With the insight, I would have much more booked an hotel in the city centre, use the public hammam for one day of wellness and came up here for hiking on another day.
Aurora G — Google review
Over the last 9 months, I’ve waited more than 30 minutes on three different occasions without being served, so we ended up leaving each time. The food is good and the location is great, but the service has been consistently poor due to understaffing. I hope management can improve this soon. Wish you all the best.
Alija F — Google review
Stayed here for a few days before staying in the city. Beautiful spot on the mountain. If you love nature and hikes this spot is great. The rooms are nice and bright with their funky design. Food is good with lots of options for breakfast. They need to have more plant based options on their dinner menu.
Stephen J — Google review
Service: Generally decent, receptionist is nice, pool lady is nice with the kids and requests. But a waiter named Zakir/Zakaria/Zakar/Zaki (he gave us a lot of names. white Bosnian male with little facial hair) at the bar/restaurant that gave us ice cream, stood for over 10 minutes telling us how Bosnian Muslims are superior to Arab Muslims because of an agenda he heard online, telling us how he thinks Arabs are inhumane and don’t do good for Muslims around the world but Bosnians do (while UAE and other middle eastern countries are literally top donators to Gaza and other global incidents). Please keep in mind I was with my family including my mother and younger siblings whom all heard the conversation while trying to enjoy their ice cream, which was in the main lobby in front of the reception while the receptionist is present. That ruined my mother’s night, as we came down from our room to enjoy the cold weather at night and the post-rain weather. He was also complaining about his Asian coworker (brown skin, Sri Lankan as per the waiter) saying that they are not good workers and that Bosnians are better. Making fun of Arab parents and Arab kids saying that Arabs can’t control their children. Additionally he was showing us his charity contributions to one of the African nations but saying he doesn’t trust if he will get rewarded or something I don’t even know. His arguments and way speaking was all over the place but focused to convince us that Bosnian Muslims are different than Arabs. Rooms: Rooms are decent and livable. However in each room, near the window there are dead insects under the grey large pillows and beside it. Pool: I would recommend to install heaters for the water, however we had a nice swim. Overall: Decent but we wish we never met or engaged the waiter in that ignorant argument. Dont talk to him or try to convince him because once he sees that you are not being convinced by his arguments he will tell you “I am busy I have to work” when he literally is the one that starts the conversation with you about his discriminatory topic. Please note that the overall experience in Bosnia was great and that we are amazed by some Bosnian treatment of how respectful they were to us. However this was one of the instances that we met disrespectful staff who didn’t like Arabs. Pino hotel we expect better from your services, Thank you.

Went for food with a group of people. For some reason we had to pay in front. The pizzas took really long and weren't that special. The pasta was cold. No checking whether it's alright or for drinks. Nice scenery, but that's all. Not a great experience.
Melle Z — Google review
I came there to eat with my kid and I was first attended for a kind guy outside where I ordered 2 juices but I needed to change tables because I wanted to charge my phone (of course I asked before changing to inside), another worker came to attend me and I specifically said that I order from the other guy 2 juices and that I want a pizza, he said ok and left, some time later I got my juices and he started to shout in his language why I got juices that he ordered juices again and that i need to pay twice, I said that I told him about the order with the other guy and they said ok you don’t need to pay. The ugliest part was when I needed to pay and the guy started demanding and shouting to me that I need to pay the juices twice, he threw the bill of the other guy away and kept shouting because i refused, in the end I paid only the pizza with him but he threw the bill to me aggressively. What was a nice hike ended up being an ugly moment. I do not think that a hotel like this should have this kind of people working for them. For me this is a reason to fire him. View and food was good.

Hotel Europe is a historic 5-star hotel located in the heart of Sarajevo, Bosnia. Established in 1882, this elegant hotel offers modern and fully equipped accommodations with a blend of Oriental and modern styles. It features cozy rooms and suites, along with amenities such as a gym, indoor pool, spa with saunas, terrace for sunbathing, fitness services, and airport transfers.
I had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Europe in Sarajevo. The location is right in the heart of the city, yet my room was quiet and peaceful, allowing me to get a comfortable night’s sleep. The staff were extremely accommodating. When I mentioned that the bed in my blue-themed room was a bit too firm, they kindly moved me to another room (orange-themed), which had a softer, much more comfortable bed—it felt like heaven! I ended up extending my stay because of how relaxed and at home I felt. Breakfast was another highlight: a huge variety of options, all fresh and delicious, and the waiters were attentive and professional. A special thank you goes to Marisa at the spa. She is so sweet, welcoming, and patient in explaining all the services they offer. Honestly, she’s the reason I chose this hotel in the first place! The spa itself is fantastic, with a pool, sauna, steam room, and a wide range of treatments like massages, facials, and body scrubs—perfect for being pampered without even leaving the hotel. Overall, I can’t recommend Hotel Europe enough. From the location to the comfort, service, and spa, it truly exceeded my expectations.

Definitely one of the best options to stay in Sarajevo. Perfect location in the middle of old town. Kind service and very clean. Did not taste SPA offer. Great breakfast, one of the best I’ve tasted lately. Rooms need a bit of refurbishment, that’s why did not put 5 starts.

Location is perfect. Rooms Beautiful. Staff at reception kind. But on separate occasions I rather strongly felt that I was not welcome here by the restaurant staff. Which is unfortunate because it significantly impacted my overall experience. But alas, perhaps if I was kinder for example said good morning to them when walking in, the experience may have been different.

Rooms very basic on 3rd floor, bathroom not clean, AC operated lousy, was able to open window (colleagues was not) but the noise from outside AC unit was unbearable. Price-list was obsolete and incorrect. Breakfast was very good. Reception also but: they were not able to organize taxi from the airport to hotel as I was “too late”?!? Beware of TAXI d(r)iver… they will try to scam you. Black Mercedes driver took 50KM (25 €) instead of max 20 KM (10€). Location good if you like to check the old part of town. People are very nice in general.

Very disappointed with my stay. The AC was not working in two different rooms, and they asked me to move again to a third. The tub was clogged, the furniture is outdated, and the mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. This level of service is unacceptable. I do not recommend staying here.

Hotel Malak Regency is an upscale riverside hotel offering polished rooms, restaurants, an indoor pool, and a spa. The spacious rooms are clean and luxurious with amenities such as slippers, bathrobes, and shoe polish. The breakfast offers diverse and fresh options sourced from their farms. The friendly staff provides excellent service, with special mentions for Amina and Alegia. Additionally, the hotel features a shop in the lobby and a fantastic spa facility with fast laundry service.
I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Malak Regency. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beauty of the hotel — elegant, clean and nicely designed. The rooms are spacious, spotless and well-maintained. What truly made my stay exceptional was the staff, welcoming and helpful. A special shout-out to Adin, one of the waiters at the restaurant, whose professionalism, friendly manner and attention to detail added a personal touch. Every single day, he went above and beyond. I can’t recommend Hotel Malak Regency enough.

It’s a unique hotel in the sense that it has its own Farm where during summer you can go with families for picnic. Rooms are exceptionally comfortable and clean, so is the service. Breakfast is buffet and you can have everything that you can imagine to be there for brunch. They serve four different kinds of honey from their own farms.Staff serving breakfast is polite and friendly. It’s located just 7 minutes walk from Llidza tram station where trams run after every few minutes to Baščaršija , old Sarajevo. There only two things we noticed which require the attention of the management. First there is no valet service to take your luggage from the car/ taxi and you are expected to bring and carry yourself to the reception desk. Second is air conditioning in the room. Guest cannot control the thermostat , meaning temperature, by himself. It’s controlled from the front desk and you are supposed to call the person at the front desk/ reception to lower or increase the temperature, your preferred. It’s a headache and management should take a note of it. Otherwise we had absolutely enjoyable stay here. Highly recommended.

We visited from Jerusalem, Palestine, and had such a wonderful stay at this hotel. The employees, especially those helping with luggage and serving food, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a pool, though for women it’s only open on Saturdays and Sundays for a short time, which was a bit limiting. The room was spotless, and the cleaning lady kindly offered us a prayer mat — such a thoughtful gesture. Breakfast had a wide variety of food, and there’s also a convenient parking garage. Overall, our experience was excellent, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Also since our flight was very early in the morning, the staff even prepared breakfast boxes for us to take -which we really appreciated

A 5-star experience – truly outstanding service at Malak Regency Hotel! We’ve just ended our 10-day Balkan road trip across Bosnia, Croatia, and Slovenia, covering over 1,500 km and staying in a new city almost every day. Sarajevo was both the beginning and the end of our journey, and we chose Malak Regency Hotel for our final night after a long day in Mostar. Due to a booking mistake on our part through a third-party website, we accidentally reserved the wrong night. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk kindly informed us that the previous night had been marked as a no-show. While the hotel had every right to charge us again, the management handled the situation with true professionalism and generosity by offering us a complimentary room for the correct night — even though they were under no obligation to do so. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully furnished, with a breathtaking view of the river and surrounding nature. We appreciated the full amenities, including a bidet in the bathroom — a thoughtful detail for Middle Eastern travelers. Free secure parking was also a big plus. Without a doubt, I will stay here again on my next visit to Sarajevo and highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, hospitality, and peace of mind.

Hotel Malik Sarajevo wannabe Turkish five star that lost its shine long ago Maybe back in the day when it first opened this place actually hit the five star standards and got the badge but now it is nothing more than a piece of paper and reality hits different From the entrance you already feel the fake vibe the main door doesnt even work and instead of a grand welcome you get some random vending machines standing right next to the reception desk The so called luxury is just a cheap show covering up how worn out and outdated the place really is In the rooms half the stuff is broken or falling apart the so called renovation looks like a quick and dirty job and the whole thing feels like a low budget knockoff The promo photos online are pure catfish nothing close to what you actually get Breakfast is another letdown Forget about good coffee you wont find it here not even a decent one Food yeah theres plenty of it but its mostly frozen junk reheated pizza and random low quality dishes If you find something tasty consider yourself lucky because its like one bite out of a mountain of trash At the end of the day this hotel doesnt even hit proper four star vibes At best its a sad three star hiding behind fake Turkish glamour stuck in the past and offering zero quality or real comfort

The hotel was overall fine, with excellent breakfasts and a very friendly chef who spread joy in the mornings. The pool area was partly out of order (the whirlpool was not working) and did not feel particularly pleasant. The staff ignored teenagers who were making a mess, being loud, and jumping into the water, so we ended up leaving. The reception staff seemed unqualified and completely lacking both joy in their work and professionalism toward guests. At check-out, we dealt with Melissa, who was openly unpleasant (without any reason, as we had no issue to resolve). I almost asked to speak with the manager but in the end decided not to and just left. This hotel does not live up to a 5-star rating.

Hotel Colors Inn, situated in the heart of Sarajevo on Kosevo Street, offers a vibrant and contemporary stay for travelers. Housed in a charming Austro-Hungarian building, the hotel has been transformed into an oasis of comfort by young architects who preserved the city's architectural spirit while adding urban details and colors. The modern and stylish decor creates a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by spacious, well-equipped rooms with amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and minibars.
Mirela is a perfect example of how essential good front office staff is. From helping us with a smooth checkin to addressing our specific needs the hotel and it's staff have been terrific. Absolutely loved the breakfast over the course of my stay and appreciate the welcome card and snacks that were provided. Great job for painting such a lovely picture of Bosnia through your hospitality and care for your guests which quite often big brand hotels are unable to provide.

I am currently residing in it and I have three days left of my stay in it. I do not need to stay after my stay. I will evaluate it now. It is truly the most beautiful accommodation I have stayed in in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with all its hotels that have the same stars. It also outperforms a hotel that is actually five stars, I will not mention its name, and it is in Mostar because I enjoy here everyone who can deal with people, cleanliness, and hospitality. All the people here are wonderful. Thank you to this great hotel with everything in it.

It was our last hotel stay during our trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina, & it was one of the best! The rooms were super clean, the towels, bedsheets and almost everything. Honestly it’s been a while since I have felt at ease during a stay in a hotel room. The room and the bathroom were prepared with almost everything u might need, they even had a full pack of makeup remover wipes, however one missing item was the lotion, which I can’t really complain about. Here are a few things that I noted, the wall separating the room and the bathroom shower was made of type of material that is a kinda see-through, which wasn’t very comfortable. In addition, the sound isolation between rooms is not the best. During my stay it was my family in the other two adjacent rooms so it was kinda ok 😅 The parking isn’t the best however there are a lot of nearby stores, cafes, restaurants, etc., that are within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was something that I looked forward to each morning, it felt cozy and warm each time I went there. I can’t forget about the kind staff, they were very welcoming and greeted us with a smile every time we went outside or came in, even if it was 5 times a day :). They were quick to make our requests happen and always made sure everything we needed is met. In the end, we had a pleasant stay in the Colors inn Hotel, it is for sure one of the hotels that I would stay at again!

Our first time in Sarajevo, we were attending a wedding. This hotel was perfect for our 3 night stay. We stayed in room 603, it was so gorgeous... the bed was massive and very comfortable, and the whole place was spotless. The roof terrace was just outside our door, it was the most relaxing place for our morning coffee, it was very hot in Sarajevo during our trip, but the terrace stayed in shade until later in the morning. The breakfast was totally amazing. I follow a Ketogenic diet and it's not always easy to find things to eat, but Colors Inn cater for everybody and the choice was second to non. Also they varied things, and every morning we found something new! All of the staff were very friendly and beyond helpful, I really don't think we could have asked for more. I totally recommend this hotel. It was small enough to be very personable, and offered everything you need.

Very good location 7-10 minutes walk from the old town. Only back you will have to walk along a sloping street up the hill. We traveled in a group of 23 people from Latvia with our own cars. The hotel staff was very responsive and helped to park all our cars at the hotel. Very tasty breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. Special thanks for the comfortable pillows. The staff is very friendly, helpful and responsive. We definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning to visit Sarajevo. The hotel does not have its own restaurant for dinner, but the staff recommended restaurants in the old town. You can pay by card at the hotel.

Hotel Aziza is a true gem! Everything was spotlessly clean, and the atmosphere felt warm and homey – like staying with family rather than in a hotel. The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the city center and all the main attractions. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Sarajevo! Andrija, Montenegro

A hotel with a very interesting and unique love story of Mehmed and Aziza. Each room is special because the numbering follows the years of the family’s most important events - the opening of their bakery, the year they met, their wedding, and the birth of their children and grandchildren. The hotel is located in the old town, the room was clean with a beautiful view of the city, and there was a very pleasant fragrance in the hallways. Breakfast is also included in the price. Thank you for preserving and sharing your history!

This hotel provided a terrible experience. After initially communicating with them and trying to book, they blocked me on social media and stopped responding to any of my attempts to reach out. Hotel VIP is very comfortable and in a great location within walking distance of all the main sights in the city. It is a small hotel with buffet service for breakfast. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with a convenient tea/coffee making stations. Carpet could be a bit cleaner but nothing too bad. The bathroom was spacious and the under-floor heating was such a wonderful bonus. A small terrace on the top floor allowed for some wonderful photos of the mountains in the morning and evening. Quiet location away from main road.
Sabia A — Google review
The room was big and clean. Also, the location of the hotel was very convenient. It’s a shame that they’re not more transparent about having no staff at reception after 4pm. I would have thought twice before booking. I was left an envelope with my name on it with my room keys. I was also given a set of instructions and provided with a mobile number if I had any questions or emergency. I called the number several times as my hot water wasn’t working and I needed an iron but there was no answer. I managed to get through to someone late night and they said they will reset the heating but there’s no issue, even though they didn’t investigate. Breakfast is basic and totally not worth it. I was checking out early and needed a taxi so I asked the receptionist when they did actually come in to sort this for me and I wanted some reassurance given my experience on the first night with the water and he was very defensive and standoffish with me. I was due on a tour the following day and found myself having to follow up to make sure they sorted this. Overall, I paid £150 for this hotel and just don’t think it was worth the price given they have no one actually running the service here. Very disappointing!

The hotel is in a good location, the old town is in walking distance and there is a small grocery store across the road. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and very spacious. Sound proofing could be improved, as the noise of people walking up the stairs or children playing in the room above were audible. This however was not loud enough to keep us awake at night and I would book accommodation at this hotel again in the future.

There is no reception worker they left a paper note that there is no one in hotel there was a phone number to call but they never answered. There is no hot water. Room was too much smelling bad. We parked our car in front of hotel, there was a guy living there he told us that we are not allowed to park. 0 responsibility Never visit again

Hotel VIP review This hotel will make your experience in Sarajevo perfect. The hotel has an excellent location just a couple minutes walk from ‘Pigeon Square’ and the rest of the old town (restaurants, shopping, mosques, etc). It is located in a quiet back lane with a supermarket nearby. There is parking available which can be tricky with hotels in the old part of Sarajevo. The 9 rooms in the hotel are spacious and clean. The WiFi is very strong throughout the hotel, and the breakfast is quite good as well. I have to say though, that it is the staff which really stand out here. They are all extremely friendly and go out of their way to help in any way they can. Somehow this hotel has managed to employ several genuinely amazingly friendly people! A special acknowledgement goes to Elma, with whom my wife and I had several conversations which we really enjoyed. It was a pleasure coming back to the hotel each day and having a good chat! This hotel is great, but it’s staff are superb!

Sebilj is a wooden fountain located in the heart of Bascarsija Bazaar, Sarajevo. It was built in the 18th century and resembles an ornate kiosk. This landmark is a popular meeting point and symbol of Sarajevo, attracting both tourists and locals. Surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, it marks the center of the Old Town's central square. Legend has it that drinking from the fountain twice ensures a return to Sarajevo.
Baščaršija in Sarajevo is a living treasure of tradition, where oriental architecture with its Islamic character and the minarets rising gracefully to the sky reflect the city’s history and soul. Lively, charming, and much visited, it makes you feel as if you’ve traveled back in time, surrounded by unique aromas, vibrant sounds, and the warm hospitality that make this place unforgettable.
Florijan J — Google review
I guess this place is what would be called the center of the old town, like a square. It's pretty vibrant here, with lots going on, people feeding pigeons and eating at one of many eateries there, primarily kebabs. It was a very Turkish feel to it. It also has alot of souvenir shops here where you can buy fridge magnets, fake football shirts (although the quality doesn't seem to be too good). This is also the place that leads up to the yellow fortress, which is located around 15 minutes away.

Iconic spot in Sarajevo and the heart of Baščaršija. Beautiful Ottoman-style fountain, lively square with pigeons, cafes and shops all around. A must-see when visiting the city. Water is cold!!
J — Google review
The Sebilj, Sarajevo’s iconic wooden fountain in the heart of Baščaršija, has been the city’s soul since 1753. Built by Mehmed Pasha Kukavica to provide free water to travelers, it was rebuilt in 1891 in pseudo-Moorish style after a fire. Surrounded by pigeons (hence “Pigeon Square”), the scent of ćevapi, and Ottoman crafts, it’s the perfect meeting spot. Local legend: drink from its fresh, potable water and you’ll return to Sarajevo. A survivor of the 1990s siege, today it shines as a symbol of resilience and multiculturalism.
A G — Google review
Sebilj is one of Sarajevo’s most iconic landmarks and a must-visit if you’re in the old town (Baščaršija). This beautiful wooden fountain was built in the 18th century during the Ottoman period and remains a symbol of the city. It’s not just a historical site—locals and tourists alike gather here to relax, feed the pigeons, and soak in the lively atmosphere. The surrounding square is always bustling with cafes, souvenir shops, and traditional restaurants. It’s a perfect spot to sit, take photos, and enjoy the heart of Sarajevo’s cultural and architectural charm. Also, there’s a local belief that if you drink water from Sebilj, you’ll return to Sarajevo again. Whether you believe it or not, the water is fresh and cold—worth trying! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sarajevo.
Ammar A — Google review
It could have been a great attraction had it not been for the beggars and the big area taken by the adjacent cafes and restaurants.

The Sebilj is an Ottoman-style wooden fountain in the centre of Baščaršija Square in Sarajevo. The original Sebilj was built by Mehmed Pasha Kukavica in 1753, but it was destroyed in a fire in 1852. It was reconstructed by the Austrian architect Alexander Wittek in 1891, and was relocated to its present site several metres away from the position of the earlier structure. According to local legend, visitors who drink water from the fountain will return to Sarajevo, someday. A prominent structure that serves as a meeting point for groups, friends and families. A lot of pigeons nearby the Sebilj, being fed by visitors. Good experience to be here.

Entrance cost 5 BAM for each person and you pay on the top (there is automatic turnstile). But be careful, you have to have 5 BAM coin!

Avaz Twist Tower is the highest point in Sarajevo and offers the most breathtaking view of the entire city. It was truly one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. I enjoyed a nice coffee at the top, and the staff were very polite, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend anyone visiting Sarajevo to come here and experience having a coffee while enjoying the stunning view from this tower!”
Manar — Google review
The view from the top is beautiful, overlooking the entire city. There is also a bar where the prices are reasonable and you can enjoy a drink with a wonderful view. It is very clean and spot. Interesting architecture.
Diana M — Google review
5km to get the lift up to the top of the tower. Air conditioned viewing room and outside access giving amazing views over the city and sniper’s alley
Ian M — Google review
We caught the tram to visit the Twist Tower. It was a 10 to 15 minute walk from the tram stop. We took the lift to the 35th floor and walked up to the 36th floor, but the turnstile payment machine wasn't working so, disappointingly, we didn't get onto the observation deck (our main reason for the visit). We had a drink in the bar and were again disappointed when we were told that they didn't serve food. However, we did stay and watch the sunset.
Carole A — Google review
We were on the top in the cafe at 35th floor. It was very nice. The view is amazing, prices are okay. It's clean and cozy. If you want to see Sarajevo from the top, while drinking something and hiding from the heat outside- the perfect spot.
Danisa I — Google review
The view from the 35th floor is great. The elevator was really quick no waiting whatsoever and the drinks from the bar amazing. The only problem is that the "twist tower" should twist and yet it never did.

Nestled atop a hill, the Yellow Fortress, or Zuta Tabija, is an 18th-century bastion that offers some of the most breathtaking views of Sarajevo and its surrounding mountains. This historic site has become a beloved destination for both locals and travelers seeking to witness stunning sunsets that bathe the city in golden hues.
The Yellow Fortress offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Sarajevo. Perched on a hill just a short walk from the old town, it’s the perfect spot to take in the city’s skyline, especially during sunset. The climb is a bit steep but absolutely worth it. Whether you’re into photography, history, or just want a peaceful place to sit and reflect, this spot delivers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sarajevo.
Ammar A — Google review
Great spot to see Sarajevo, especially at sunset. It does get busy a couple of hours before, so best to go early if you want a good place to sit. The walk up from the old town is uphill and a bit of a workout, but the views make it worth it. There’s also a small cafe at the top.
Hallian — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Yellow Fortress is a must-visit in Sarajevo! The climb up is totally worth it for the breathtaking views over the whole city. At the top, you get a panoramic look across Sarajevo and it’s especially magical at sunset when the sky lights up behind the mountains. It can get busy (especially around sunset), but the atmosphere actually adds to the experience – locals and travellers all gathering to watch the city lights come on. The viewpoint is spacious enough that you can still find a good spot. If you’re visiting Sarajevo, make sure this is on your list. A peaceful yet lively place that captures the heart of the city – definitely one of the highlights of my trip!
Fawad F — Google review
The fortress provides breathtaking views of Sarajevo, especially captivating during sunset when the city is bathed in golden hues. The Yellow Fortress is a must-visit for those seeking a blend of history, culture, and natural beauty in Sarajevo. Its panoramic views and serene ambiance make it a favorite spot for tourists.
H A — Google review
Nice spot for a view of Sarajevo and a good place to watch the sunset. It gets busy an hour before sunset so best prepare for it. Good few spots to watch it too.
Sakina K — Google review
From this vantage point there are breathtaking views of the city of Sarajevo. It is a bit uphill to walk from the old town, but nice walk and in the end wonderful view.
Diana M — Google review
It's a hidden gem in Sarajevo, even though many people climb up there to enjoy the sunset — which is absolutely fantastic. The view of the city with the reddish horizon is both poetic and mesmerizing. No admission fee. Tip: The available tables and chairs are for paying customers only, so make sure to buy something if you’d like to sit and enjoy the view. Cash payments only.

Nice view of the sunset with a little coffee shop. The hill is a bit of a steep climb but not bad. Buy some jewelry from the little girl and her mom selling at the entry!

Nestled in the captivating milieu of Sarajevo, Hotel Radon Plaza stands as a testament to lavish indulgence. The modern hotel features streamlined rooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant with amazing views, an indoor pool, and a spa offering Finnish sauna facilities. Guests can also enjoy leisure activities such as bowling and billiards. The lobby bar exudes a soothing atmosphere for relaxation. Located about 4.3 miles from the city center and 1.
Hotel location is great, close to the airport, 10mins taxi drive from the center, 15 by tramway, and very convenient. Breakfast makes the difference, served on the 15th floor with a view over the entire Sarajevo, and the food selection is amazing. The staff is kind and professional. I would separate Nino from the main desk who is extremely helpful, kind, and professional. All in all amazing.

Our room and bathroom are big but there’s smell. It’s not a modern hotel inside. The view of the restaurant for brkfast is amazing. Receptionist is not good service. Far from city centre but u have tram in front of the hotel. Carpet is smelly.

not recommended if you are looking for a luxury hotel in Sarajevo, completely a nightmare! Room is clean and tidy, WiFi connection is strong and stable. However! The window is not openable, we have to open the main door to let the freash and cold air to come inside our room, we were feeling unbreathable. The air conditioning doesn't work properly, it can be turned on, however the temp cannot be lowered than 20 degree. we turned on the A/C all night, but the temp still maintained at 25 degree at night! Plus the unopenable window, it feels like sleeping in a sauna room. They don't have enough tables in their restaurant, the breakfast time was packed. We have to take our breakfast back to our unbreathable room, or eat it in their hotel lobby. Their reception is so unprofessional, a young man was tried to sort out my problem but completely got distracted by a young lady just went pass and started to talk with her! We were here in May, when the temp was around 25 degree max, take a second thought if you would visit here in summer!

Not a 4-star experienc Room wasn’t properly cleaned — hair on the bed and in the bathroom, used sugar left in the tea tray. AC blows at full power with no option to adjust airflow, only on or off.Had to change rooms; reception gave the new key but offered no help. Then my old room key stopped working while I was moving my things — had to go back to reactivate it. Only the restaurant met expectations — good food and service. Overall, disappointing. Ibis offers a much better experience.

A very good hotel to stay when you travel to Sarajevo. Friendly personnel and a safe place to stay. The rooms are big and the price-quality is perfect.

Very comfortable hotel. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are very spacious, have large tv with local channels. Rotating restaurant on the top floor has amazing views- especially at sunrise and sunset. Restaurant itself is very good but has limited menu. Location of hotel is great, there's a bash burger (halal McDonald's copy) literally outside and theres a tram stop opposite which takes you into old town in 45mins. Not much else within walking distance but tram and taxis are cheap.

I went there pretty late so there was no available service but at the day time ı am sure that could been a amazing view to look at. And you are also sitting on a plca where the table you are sitting always rotating in a very low speed so you are able to see all of sarejevo.

Hotel Hills Sarajevo Congress & Termal spa Resort is a luxurious accommodation nestled in the heart of Sarajevo's green oasis. Boasting 330 well-appointed rooms and suites, this 5-star resort features a state-of-the-art congress center, modern wellness facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an adrenaline park for both kids and adults, as well as various dining options offering international and national cuisine. Guests can also enjoy panoramic views from the rooftop restaurant and lounge bar.
Airport view was excellent. Kids would love just looking at planes landing and taking off. Try to get a view if you can. Hotel staff for laundry, room service and daily turn over are excellent. The only downside was that it is too far from the city center and takes 25 min cab ride. We had it reserved via our large travel group. Personally for a smaller group I’d stay near old city
Furquaan I — Google review
The hotel is located close to the airport. I booked it as part of a package and an organized tour. The hotel is rated as 5 stars, but the reception area is very modest and doesn’t resemble a 5-star hotel at all. We received our rooms, and while the rooms are spacious, the moment I opened the curtain, I saw the level of cleanliness dust, hair in the drawers, and a sewage smell. Very low standard of cleanliness. The dining hall is large but not well-lit. There is enough food, but the service is terrible. Don’t expect 5-star level service or food. By the way, I asked for an iron they don’t have one, only an ironing service. Not recommended at all.

Hotel Hills is an amazing place! I had the pleasure of attending the Saudi National Day 95 celebration here, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The hotel is elegant, spacious, and very well organized. The atmosphere during the event was festive and unforgettable. The staff were professional, kind, and made everything run smoothly. A perfect venue for such a special occasion — highly recommended!”
Manar — Google review
The hotel is great. Room is huge with balcony. Staff is friendly. Food on the breakfast buffet was good and more variety. The minus thing is they didn't provide mineral water, they said we can drink from tab water. And no dental kits, until we ask the house keeping to give us. But we will go back again because I love their breakfast buffet, swimming pool and the huge room they provided.
Fenni D — Google review
First of all I'll start with saying the place is not perfect , especially looking at it from the outside ( like most Balkan structures the outside is not kept in meticulous shape) however the story changes once you arrive inside! This place very nice and there's tons of things to do. One day here is not enough truly. 1. The breakfast! Truly exceptional in the choices they offer lots of traditional Bosnian dishes and lots of middle eastern salads a fantastic combination and the amount of choices is more than any other hotel I've stayed at. 2. The spa area is wonderful 8-9 different spas all Wich are in working condition and large enough to fit multiple parties without feeling cramped of claustrophobic. 3. The indoor swimming area is located adjacent to the hotel however connected through some strange hallways and locker room maze, but once you arrive at the pool it is a fantastic experience. The ceiling made of expertly crafted wood and glass and artificial rocks, trees and even a small cave give it an adventurous feel from kids to adults all will enjoy! Not to mention the multiple water massages and roughly 10-12 hot tub/jacuzzi's! 4. The gym is also huge with professional employees and every machine you could possibly want. 5. There is a store inside the resort so anything you need from snacks, drinks, and cigarettes are available without having to pay exorbitant hotel prices. 6. Theres even a niche parfume shop in the building Wich you get a great wiff of as soon as you enter. My only issues were not being able to walk around the hotel in robes but I completely understand there are a lot Muslims here and also locals who do not quite appreciate the modest appearance. And the other thing was my lock on my room didn't work with the key card I had to be given the key and manually open and close the door but those are minor issues in my eyes. I still recommend this resort 9.5/10!
Dzenis A — Google review
The hotel has great swimming pools for both kids and adults – definitely a highlight! 🏊‍♂️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 But the room experience was disappointing: • Not worth the price – we stayed at cheaper hotels that were much better. 💸 • Bathroom lacked basics – no cotton swabs, no toothbrush, etc. 🪥🚫 • Room key card didn’t work, had to use a physical key due to a door issue. 🔑🚪 • No iron in the room, unlike other hotels in the area. 👕❌ • The safe was broken and couldn’t be used. 🔒⚠️ • Hot water took a long time to heat up. 🚿🥶 • Ventilation in the bathroom was extremely loud, making it uncomfortable. 🔊🚽 ✅ Breakfast was excellent – fresh, diverse, and well-organized. 🥐☕ ✅ Service was fast and friendly, which is a big plus. 😊👏 Overall: Nice pools, great breakfast, and good service – but the room quality, noise issues, and lack of basic amenities don’t justify the price.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Hill Sarajevo. The location is excellent, very convenient to the airport and only about 30 minutes from the city center. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, which made the experience even better. The hotel itself was spotless, and the breakfast was amazing with plenty of variety and they never ran out of food. The swimming pools were another highlight, with both indoor and outdoor options to enjoy. The only downside was that at the outdoor pool you have to rent the chairs, which felt a little unfair. Other than that, everything was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Sarajevo! And beyond the hotel, I have to say the people of Bosnia 🇧🇦 are truly a great nation—very polite, always ready to help, and they deserve a big round of applause! 👏
Muhammad Z — Google review
If you check in after 10:00 p.m. you will work as a porter . Every time you drive out you should go to busy reception to scan your Parking ticket. The mini bar is not working in my big room. Location is perfect near the airport. I stayed for three nights. ‏ATM , min supermarket and cafe inside. Recreation area outside. It’s better if your children. If you are solo I don’t recommend.

Hotel Swissôtel Sarajevo is an upscale, alcohol-free hotel with warmly furnished quarters and two restaurants. The spacious rooms offer great scenery and the hotel's location provides convenient access to a shopping mall and supermarket for amenities like phone cards and currency exchange. While it is a landmark building, some guests have noted issues with sanitation in the hotel. However, the staff's attitude remains positive despite minor inconveniences.
I visited Sarajevo with my family in early May and stayed for a weekend. I was there with my spouse, an 6 year old son and in-laws. Our experience was simply amazing and one of the best hotel experiences we ever had. We were greeted by Hasan, a lovely man who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience, he recommended restaurants, shopping spots, places to see. The breakfast experience the hotel provides was amazing, we were overwhelmed by the kindness and hospitality that every employee displayed. It was as if my own family owned the place. It is without a doubt the only place I will ever stay when visiting Sarajevo.

We had business seminar at the hotel, catering was excellent, interior is very modern and luxury , but it doesn't match with service. People also complain about zero alcohol at this hotel, which guests would like to be able to make their own decision versus someone else forcing it! Location...3 stars, this is out of center and requires transportation.

I stayed at Swissotel Sarajevo for five nights and had an amazing experience. Check-in was quick and easy, the facilities were brilliant, and the service was outstanding. My room was really spacious with a beautiful mountain view – couldn’t have asked for better! The spa was fantastic too, and the staff there were so helpful. Big thanks to Salma at reception for sorting out a late check-out for me as I had a flight later in the day – really appreciated it! I work in the travel industry and deal with a lot of luxury hotels, and I have to say Swissotel Sarajevo really impressed me. I’ll definitely be recommending it to my clients, friends, and family. The staff here truly go above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Very good experience overall. Friendly and helpful staff, great location, tasty food, and everything was clean and well maintained. The hotel is also kid-friendly – there’s a playroom for children in the same complex, which is a big ➕️ for families. (Closed on Sundays) Parking is €15/day or just across the hotel. In the hotel bars, make sure to say you're a guest – you’ll get 40% off. The spa is a bit poor and feels worn out

I can’t fault swissotel, bar the fusion restaurant - there’s nicer places to eat in Sarajevo. But as a hotel, lovely staff, lovely rooms, very clean, well placed location, good breakfast. 10/10. Thank you to Dario for being so accommodating to us :)

The best hotel in Sarajevo. Perfectly located in the heart of the city centre! There is a very short bridge/pathway on the first floor of the hotel directly to the SCC shopping centre (largest/newest in the city). The main tram line is right outside the entrance of the SCC shopping centre. This makes the hotel very accessible with the old city being only 10 minutes away via the Tram or Taxi. The hotel itself is fantastic. Great staff. Great amenities. A true 5*. Our Panaromic Executive Suite was fantastic, it was large, clean, newly renovated with amazing views. The pool/spa were also great. No complaints. We will be back when next in the city.

This hotel has a potential to be quite good , unfortunately it is not! Reception stuff is absolutely horrible! Blonde lady at the front desk was very unpleasant, unprofessional and rude. Rooms need major cleaning and renovation. It is “ halal” certified hotel with black mirror ceiling above bad?? Quite contradictory I would say. Our room was on main floor overlooking busy street. We asked for room with better view and were told they are fully booked which was not the case! Breakfast buffet was pretty good with an exception of one morning not being set up even after 7:20 where it clearly states that breakfast starts at 7. Also restaurant stuff would not greed guests we were always first one saying hello or good morning. No need to say that I will not be back at this hotel.

Sarajevo is not Paris....and that is okay. This is a gritty city, and you need to know that before you visit. It has a long and at times painful history. The Hotel Central was unpretentious and a truly central location. The staff were super helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.

Central hotel of Sarajevo is certainly beautiful, well maintained, centrally located with many attractions within reach. The staff were friendly, and helpful. Overall the hotel is comfortable, cozy, relaxing…. Facilities & amenities meet the standard of four stars hotel. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of choices. The hotel doesn't have a king-size bed. They push two single beds together and sell them as king-size beds. When you arrive at the hotel later, you're disappointed. There are no double bedding in the rooms. The curtains on the windows don't cover them. The bathroom sink constantly overflows. The staff is generally polite, but they don't solve your problems. You can see from the photos how dirty the environment is. It's not worth the money you pay. I have never stayed in a worse hotel.

She also has a killer sense of humour! Thank you for the stay :)

Probably the best place to stay in Sarajevo !!! The hotel is ideally located, right in the center in a quiet and pleasant street. the staff is kind and attentive, special mention for Svjetlana, a real Bosnian punk (princess version). the rooms are comfortable, each with their own dedicated bathroom. A perfect place to blend into the life of this charming city.

Overall the hostel was okay. Good value for the price, especially in terms of location and the friendly employees. The rooms could be cleaner and overall it feels like it has seen it's best years. Spent two nights, but haven't seen any breakfast options in either of the kitchens (could no longer be applicable, but still visible in a lot of texts on websites). Note that the location on Maps is correct, it's just a bit unclear behind which door the hostel is as there's no big sign on the door.

The Old Town Hotel is a small hotel located near Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque and Bosnian History Museum in Sarajevo. Rooms are air conditioned and feature free Wi-Fi, cable TV, minibar and safe. Breakfast is buffet style with a variety of foods.
We stayed at the Old Town Hotel in Sarajevo for a weekend and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect—within walking distance of everything. The breakfast was rich and offered options for various dietary preferences. Our room was very nice, spotlessly clean, and had fresh air. The staff were professional, attentive, and always in a positive mood. Highly recommended!

Staff are most friendly and helpful. Room is clean, excellent breakfast. The location is the best, right inside the old town, conveniently located for banks- if you need exchange services, local supermarket, shops, restaurants, etc. There is a bakery nearby under the famous clock tower that’s been there since 1531! It called Imaret. The hotel restaurant buys their breads from this bakery too. If I must have a not so positive comment, it’s the noises from the patrons of the restaurant opposite the hotel, but nothing cannot be resolved with a closed window!

Excellent place. Location is great and walking distance to everywhere you’ll want to go. Clean and comfortable. Free and good breakfast. Friendly staff. They were very accommodating and willing to help with all of my questions. This is the place to stay in Sarajevo!

Look no further than this wonderful hotel. The location and rooms are terrific, but are outdone by the staff. Adnan and Ahmed and all the staff were warm and welcoming, kind, and attentive to every need. This town and this hotel stole our hearts.

Located very locally this fairly small hotel is a warm recommendation for your stay in Sarajevo! Out of all the places I’ve stayed so far all over, this must hands down be the friendliest and kind staff I’ve encountered! Rooms are clean and great breakfast!

Amazing hotel, great location, even better service! My guy Adnan behind the front desk so was super helpful finding the parking spot and bringing in my bags when I first arrived. The room was insane. Very simple but perfect. Corner room, tons of light, great windows (that actually open), and the location was PERFECT. I will 100% return to Sarajevo but only if I can stay here again. Adnan was great, the location was great, the room was great, and breakfast was great. Thought I had photos of the room but can’t find em.

The rooms were spacious and clean, staff really helpful and friendly and breakfast was decent. The breakfast catered for everyone. The location especially is spot on! Walking distance to alot of places and a great bar opposite!

Hotel Festival is a modern and stylish hotel located in Sarajevo, just a short walk from the city center. The lobby exudes warmth and modernity, making guests feel at home instantly. The rooms are bright and well-furnished, offering ample space for a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy free breakfast and parking, as well as dine at the bright restaurant on-site. The hotel also boasts a terrace with stunning city views.
Perfect location, near Bašćaršija, everything is in the walking distance. It's probably the best 4* hotel I ever stayed in. Clean room, excellent breakfast with so many different meals, and the best part was the staff. Very friendly, and always there to help. They look like they really enjoy their job, which is rare to see nowadays. I can't recommend this place more, and the next time when I'll visit Sarajevo, I won't lose time searching for accommodation.

Even though we had an issue with the booking.com, the hotel administration was so helpful for us to keep our booking. Both front desk ladies were super friendly, especially the night chef. The room was clean and AC was working properly. Breakfast was tasty and had a lot of options. We didn’t face any issues during our stay. The location is also great for walking to nearby attractions.
Merve U — Google review
The hotel was clean and tidy, the bed comfortable, and the room had both a fridge and a kettle – everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast was tasty and varied. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The red-haired receptionist was unfriendly and rude, even shouting to me from the restaurant while eating instead of properly assisting at the desk. Earlier, she also made it unpleasant when she said she wasn’t sure if there would be a garage spot for us. Another staff member (a heavier gentleman) was also rude to my husband for using a door that turned out to be staff-only. On a positive note, the tall, slim gentleman at reception was extremely kind and helpful, recommending a great place to eat. Many thanks to him! The hotel does offer parking in an underground garage, but there are only a few spaces. Cars block each other inside, so you have to leave your keys at reception in case someone needs to move your car.

Had an amazing stay at Hotel festival. Everything was just perfect — the room was super clean and comfy, and the whole place had a really nice vibe. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they really made the stay even better.

The best thing about this hotel is its location — very close to the city center, just about a 15-minute walk. The parking area is located behind the reception. The staff are very polite and respectful. However, the heating/cooling system does not function perfectly. The building itself is constructed with materials and finishing that make it more of a 3-star or 4-star stand

We had a reservation for a nice three person room. We arrived at the hotel at 12.30 for check in. They told us check in is at 14.00 and we couldn’t deck in yet but they found our reservation and everything is in order. We came back after diner with our 5 yo. They check us in made a copy of our passport and gave us the room key. After that they told us it wasn’t available they only have a 2 person room. They expected us to let our kid sleep on the floor or something?! They then offered us a horrible apartment at a very high price with a 2 person bed where our kid could sleep on the couch with a blanked. Horrible! Not a fitting solution at all!!! Don’t go here! You won’t be shure if you will sleep in the hotel or in a appartement full of moist for €90!!!!

Hotel Ovo Malo Duse is a charming boutique hotel located in the heart of Sarajevo's Old Town, offering an authentic and intimate experience. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a blend of traditional and modern elements, providing all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The on-site restaurant serves international cuisine and features a summer terrace. Guests praise the attentive staff, clean and spacious rooms, as well as the convenient location near major city highlights.
Loved this hotel! The hotel is beautifully furnished with vintage furniture and exudes an individual charm. The location is perfect - in the middle of a quiet side street in the old town. Rooms were clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit again!
Matthias G — Google review
Most disturbingly, we were provided with a master key. I went to the wrong room by mistake and the door opened anyway. With the permission of other guests on our floor, we tried it on 3 of the 6 hotel rooms and our key opened every door! Whether you are given one of these or not on your stay, be aware that some guests ARE being supplied with them, and can access your room any time day or night. There are no bolts or chains to provide additional security against this. See video The hotel will take photocopies of your passports and leave them lying around on the desk and in-tray in the unatended office with the door left open so that anyone who passes can access your sensitive personal information. The listing is wildly inaccurate. Of the items listed, none of the following are actually provided, either in the room or communally: Sofa, Washing machine, tumble dryer, refrigerator, iron, dressing room, dishwasher, clothes rack. 3 of the 6 rooms have very high windows and so do not have the views advertised. Of the facilities/features listed, 21 were not actually available in the rooms. The air conditioner did not work. The shower did not drain and frequently overflowed. There is a chimney on a neigbouring restaurant that spews grill smoke 18 hours a day, so if you are on the top floor (3 of 6 rooms) and want to open a window, prepare for your room to smell of wood smoke and/or Cevapcici from about 5am to 11pm. The matresses are not very comfortable at all. Every time one of us moved, the other was bounced around like we were on a waterbed. The room was clean and located in a great location, and I would have given it an 8. But due to the contempt shown to the safely and security of guests and their personal information, and the blatent misleading listing and missing facilities, we cannot possibly recommend this hotel.

Delighted with a 2 night stay here! The room was wonderful - clean, spacious, charming, comfortable - as are all the spaces in this hotel. The staff is amazing - I feel like there is no request too great. It’s almost like having a private concierge service. Also, despite being located in Old Town, the noise level was negligible. The perfect Sarajevo launching point. :)

After a bad experience in Sarajevo we couldn't ask for a better place! People are lovely and helpful. They met us for any request. Comfortable and very nice rooms. I recommend also the kitchen for breakfast and lunch.

Great position in the old part of the city. There is no parking space. Nearby is underground garage that charges 25KM for 24 hours parking. My husband and I were placed on the 1st floor in room 62. The mattress in the double bed in that room is in very bad condition. Under the cotton sheet, we noticed another plastic ?? We didn't menage to sleep because it was very uncomfortable. We were guests of the same hotel a few years ago and were very satisfied. This time, despite the kindness of the staff, we left unsatisfied and sleepless. Next time in Sarajevo we will look for another accommodation.

What a gem of a place! Right in the heart of the old part of the city- a stones throw from the city hall and the fountain. The hotel has a lovely boutique feel to it. Very very clean and comfortable. The rooms are modern and cheery. The bathroom had a rain shower! The staff- Ahmad, Edena and Amelia were so friendly and lovely- going out of their way. Amazing value for money, exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to go back :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Hotel in a Great Location We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Old Sarajevo! The location is unbeatable—right in a pedestrian zone, surrounded by great restaurants, shops, and all the main attractions within walking distance. Our room was clean, modern, and well maintained. The housekeeping team was cheerful and clearly proud of their work. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us maps, directions, and tips on what to see nearby. They even helped us find a local store to buy SIM cards. A lovely touch: one staff member brought us iced water on a hot day—so thoughtful and appreciated! The room was a comfortable size and had everything we needed. Special thanks to the hotel for arranging our airport pickup with Omo, a fantastic, safe driver who spoke perfect English and made us feel at ease right away. Highly recommend this hotel—we’ll definitely stay here again!

The location is as good as it can get if you plan on walking around the city. Within minutes to many choices of restaurants, shops, etc. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the rooms were very nice. Also is quite quiet, especially considering it is in a busy area. The breakfast was also very good.

A very good modern boutique three star hotel in an excellent location in old town. The rooms are small but clean, modern and well maintained. The rooms may be a bit pricy for a three star hotel, but that is justified by the prime location and excellent service provided.

Hotel Old Sarajevo is a truly charming boutique hotel, possibly one of the most updated accommodations within the old town. The interior exudes a unique and welcoming atmosphere, blending modern comfort with the historic surroundings. The staff here go above and beyond, surpassing Balkan standards with their friendliness and genuine hospitality. They were always on hand, offering assistance and ensuring our stay was as pleasant as possible. It's important to note that as the hotel is located in the old town, hence there are no lifts available. Additionally, for those traveling by car, paid parking is available nearby, and I highly recommend making a reservation in advance for a smoother arrival experience. *Some tips: Pack a overnight bag or a lighter luggage if you are able to store the bigger luggage in the car. While the rooms were clean, it requires some extra cleaning attention to maintain the highest standards . Nevertheless, our stay was enjoyable, and we appreciated the unique character of the hotel and the exceptional service provided by the staff.

We stayed here three nights, they are so lovely and so nice people! The Hostel is not the best in the world but is clean and near to pubs and shops. They also offer the transport from and to the airport at very cheap price. The owner speaks at least 4 languages and her company was very nice! We also met the young guy and the old guy, very kind and polite people!! They make the difference in that place ⭐️

A family-run hostel in the middle of town with great facilities and very clean. The staff, an older man and woman, are very friendly and helpful. Relax in the common room, (filled with old antics) and listen to their stories about the war or bosnian history, or enjoy and impromptu dinner cooked up by your hosts. It's easy to meet fellow travelers and you're in the middle of the Sarajevo bar scene. We could park our car in their garage for 7,5 euro/day (half the price anywhere else in town). Staying in this hostel definitely added to my Sarajevo experience, would certainly recommend this place. Also, breakfast is included!
Stan G — Google review
Clean and basic but some of the staff aren't friendly and it costs to store baggage after checkout. Staff are picky about your shoes even at check in when you have a heavy bag - complain to you before you even put your bag down - and argumentative. It is on a loud street so if you're picky about noise, it might not be for you!

Very clean, friendly staff, excellent location, good price per value. A bit noisy in the evening because of the bars/restaurants but I used ear plugs so it was fine.
Nunzio S — Google review
This hostel has bed bugs. I started itching all over and found bug bites soon after the 2nd night after I sat on the dining room and went back to my room. At first I thought it was mosquitos but realize later it was bed bugs. After I informed the owners, they went to my room and saw with me three to four bugs were walking on my bed! Thats so disgusting! But then they blamed me for bringing the bugs to their place! But I was perfectly okay until I came and started getting bites all over my body. And I had to work on my computer so I didn’t go out a lot for the first two days, I just went to supermarket for maybe 15mins and it’s not possible that the bugs are from the outside. I asked for a refund but they refused and told me to leave and gave me only 10 minutes to pack all my things (Because they are afraid that other customers will know). I said they need to refund, then they said they will call the police. I said ok that would be good to have a third person here. Then the old couples suddenly said they won’t call the police and the old man started to beat my head with his hands. I was shocked and took my phone to record his horrible action, then he took away my phone and two of them knocked me down on the floor and started to beat me. The old man even touched my body I didn’t know if he did it intentionally. My head was hurt and I screamed so loud and no body there to offer help. I travelled alone and was very helpless at that time. I have travelled to almost 70countries and that never happened to me before. They just used violence to let me shut up, instead sitting down and talk rationally with civilisation. I was crying. I was very sad and disappointed about the people of this country and I will never come back again. Totally a nightmare.

Stay with a balcony view of one of the most important spots in European 20th century history. The location is prime! Totally loved it. Spending evenings overlooking the Latin bridge will for ever stay in my memory. The staff were super friendly and always smiling. I could feel their warmth. The breakfast was a bit weird though.. my recommendation: Skype the breakfast and go have a nice burek and coffee just across the bridge. It will cost nothing and taste much better!

The location can not be beat! This is a very friendly hotel and the service was excellent. The breakfast cellar is efficient and our room was very clean. Located in the heart of Sarajevo, Ćevabdžinica Željo is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience authentic Bosnian cuisine. This popular eatery offers a variety of traditional dishes, including the renowned cevapi - hand-shaped, caseless sausages served with bread, onions, and tomato paste. The menu also features other local favorites such as suzuk, a Bosnian variation of cured Balkan sausage.
We tried this place 3 years ago, and we loved it, so this year we had dinner there every night we were in Sarajevo. It’s a simple restaurant that locals go to. It serves the best chevapis in town. The yogurt drinks are great too. We saw 3 branches, but we only tried one branch. The service is fast, and the workers are friendly.
Z J — Google review
We looked for this restaurant because it was highly recommended as one of the oldest and most authentic in Sarajevo. We didn’t order ćevapi since we had already tried plenty at other places, but the food we did order was delicious and came out very quickly. The restaurant filled up fast, but we never felt rushed to finish or leave, which we really appreciated. The service wasn’t outstanding, but it was totally fine
Martha M — Google review
As much as I’d love to give a glowing review—because I truly enjoy the combination of cevapi, onions, kaymak, and fresh bread—it pains me to say I left feeling disappointed. We waited over 20 minutes for a simple kiselo mljeko and water, and when the food arrived, the cevapi were undercooked and the bread was sticky inside. While the service feels fast-food style, that shouldn’t mean less care. Given the busy location, efficiency and quality could be much better.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation for the warm hospitality and outstanding service I received during my visit to your wonderful restaurant. A special thanks goes to Ne’metullah and Mohamed for their kindness, warm welcome, and exceptional professionalism, which truly reflect the spirit of genuine Bosnian hospitality. I would also like to praise the quality of the food served—it was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. It was truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Thank you all once again. I wish you continued success and excellence, and may Ćevabdžinica Željo remain a special destination for every visitor to Sarajevo. “I look forward to returning soon With sincere respect and appreciation,

Very tasty ćevapi, complemented by the kaymak and homemade ayran (which had a thick, creamy texture). The service was very friendly and the lady who served us even offered to take a group photo. Everything was reasonably priced as well.

Quality of the ćevabi kebab is very low compared to two years ago. Not as tasty as in 2020. We used used to look forward to it every time we visited Bosnia. But after today's experience, we will not go again. The staff is mixed. Some are friendly and some are grouchy.

first tried cevapi somewhere else and absolutely loved it, so I was excited to check this place out after seeing it ranked as one of the top-rated spots in the area. It definitely lived up to the hype! The food was delicious, authentic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The cevapi had that perfect balance of juicy and smoky, and the sides complemented it really well. Even though the place was a bit cramped and quite busy, the service was impressively fast and friendly.

I’m not usually one to complain, but my recent stay at this hotel has compelled me to speak up. From start to finish, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Over the course of my three-day stay, not once was my room cleaned — no fresh towels, no trash removed, no beds made. For a hotel that claims to offer even basic hospitality, this is completely unacceptable. The reception staff were not only unhelpful but also shockingly rude. Any time I approached them with a concern or question, I was met with indifference, eye-rolls, or short, dismissive answers. It felt like I was an inconvenience to them, rather than a paying guest. The level of customer service was abysmal. As for the room itself — it was dirty upon arrival and stayed that way throughout my stay. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks, there was dust on most surfaces, and the bathroom smelled musty and felt unhygienic. I genuinely felt uncomfortable sleeping there. The general state of the hotel was equally disappointing. Hallways were dimly lit and smelled stale, the elevator was unreliable, and common areas were poorly maintained. I expected a modest stay, but this fell far below even the most basic standards. That said, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the only highlight of my experience — the restaurant staff. They were warm, courteous, and professional every time I visited. They went out of their way to make guests feel welcome and provided excellent service despite the chaos in the rest of the hotel. A sincere thank you to them for their effort and hospitality — they were the only bright spot in an otherwise dismal experience. 👏👏 Unfortunately, even their kindness isn’t enough to save this review. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I certainly won’t be returning. There is no excuse for such a lack of cleanliness, professionalism, or basic customer care. DO BETTER ! !
Not H — Google review
Our trip started off well — the hotel looked clean and welcoming when we arrived. Unfortunately, that changed the moment we interacted with the reception staff. The front desk staff were rude and dismissive from the start, even though my grandfather was speaking to them politely and simply trying to be friendly. Their behavior was cold and unprofessional. The food at the hotel was decent, which was one of the few positives. However, on our second night, the hotel was overrun by a large group of boys (around 100 of them, aged 9–15), who were staying for a soccer event. Their rooms were located directly around ours — we had four rooms together as a family, including several elderly and ill members. At 9 PM, we wanted to rest after a long day, but that became impossible. Around 15 boys were running up and down the halls, knocking on our doors, shouting, and being extremely disruptive. There were no adults — no coaches or parents — around to manage them. We called reception to report the disturbance and were told security would be sent, but nothing happened for over 15 minutes. My grandmother then went to kindly ask the boys to be quiet — they laughed and gave a sarcastic response in Bosnian, which we couldn’t fully understand. The noise continued. My mother also asked them to quiet down — again, they laughed and ran off. Eventually, my elderly grandfather went out and firmly asked them to stop and return to their rooms. That’s when the coaches showed up and, shockingly, began shouting at my grandfather instead of the boys. At that point, my mother and I went to reception to report what had happened — the noise, the lack of supervision, and the coaches yelling at an elderly man. The receptionists responded with, “What do you want us to do?” — completely dismissive and unhelpful. When I insisted that this wasn’t acceptable, they began screaming, called the police, and started recording us. I have photos of the staff involved. Later, a security guard apologized for everyone’s behavior — both the staff and the coaches — and explained that he was the only security officer on duty. He was the only helpful and understanding person we encountered during our stay. To top it off, the hotel facilities were not as advertised: bathrooms were dirty, and some lights in our rooms didn’t work at all. Conclusion: Between the rude and unhelpful reception staff, the uncontrollable noise, the poor facility maintenance, and the unsafe environment for elderly guests, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. This experience ruined what should have been a peaceful family trip.

A hotel we stayed in as part of our tour program. It is a very large hotel, so it is very crowded and always busy. The rooms were clean. We have no complaints. The breakfast options were not bad. The location is good, there is a shopping mall nearby. There are markets and venues. . It is close to the airport, there were airplane sounds.

We were booked here by our airline, because our flight was cancelled. After arrival, they took our passports and refused, even after repeatedly asking them, to give them back to us. This is completely unacceptable. They wanted to keep them until the next day. Background: Their shift was about to end and they didn't want to do overtime. Ok, I understand that, but still, I'm traveling internationally, so my passport is my most important possession at that point. I've also never encountered a more rude staff member ever in all my years of travel. They must find a better solution than just "screw the customer". The rooms are dated and dirty, which is somewhat to be expected given the price, but a lot of things also didn't work properly. The entire hotel is very dated with outdated technical panels hanging from the walls and broken doors everywhere. We didn't stay the night however, because of the largest issue with this hotel: Fire safety. There were no evacuation plans anywhere - neither in the rooms, nor the hallways, nor the elevators - we checked. We also went down multiple "escape routes", only to find out that none of them lead to the outside and some of them were full of broken furniture or other debris. All of them, yes, ALL of the "escape routes", funneled into the lobby area, which is in the middle of the building with only one single exit - the main exit out the front door which is lined by restaurants, shops, planters, and other obstacles. Honestly, if we can't find a quick and easy way out of the hotel during normal operations, just imagine what would happen if the building was actually on fire. I'm usually not so obsessed with fire safety, but this truly shocked me. Trust me, this would end up on the news. We immediately checked out and went to a proper hotel downtown. Avoid at all cost!

The breakfast and dinner were delicious and satisfying. The staff were generally warm and polite. However, the rooms need maintenance (such as non-functioning faucets), and the hotel’s fire exits are locked. Considering that a recent fire caused the deaths of dozens of people for this very reason, I believe this issue should be taken seriously.

Very disappointing experience at Hotel Hollywood. I don’t understand how this hotel has four stars. The rooms smell very bad, and there is a strong sewage odor right in front of the hotel – like an open manhole. When we asked to change rooms due to the terrible smell, the staff refused and were not helpful at all. There is no customer service, and they seem completely uninterested in solving any problems. This is not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Hotel Grand Sarajevo offers simple accommodations, some with scenic mountain views, in a laid-back setting. The property features two restaurants and a bar for guests to enjoy. Situated near the city center, central bus and train station, the hotel provides convenient access to various attractions. With ample parking space available, it ensures easy mobility for those with private vehicles. The rooms are tidy and equipped with comfortable beds and reliable Wi-Fi.
I stayed at Hotel Grand Sarajevo for two nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is well-organized, very clean, and offers an amazing breakfast with a great variety of options. I arrived very early in the morning after taking an overnight bus from Belgrade, feeling quite tired. As expected, my room wasn't ready yet, but one of the kind employees at reception noticed my situation and invited me to have breakfast before it finished. This small act of kindness meant a lot, as I was both exhausted and hungry – it really set the tone for the rest of my stay. After breakfast, I waited in the cozy bar area, where the service was excellent. The hotel is located in a quieter, more residential part of Sarajevo, which I appreciated, and my room had lovely views of the surrounding mountains. I highly recommend Hotel Grand Sarajevo for its comfort, cleanliness, and above all, the thoughtful and welcoming staff. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the city!

We stayed at Grand Hotel Sarajevo for two nights. The location is convenient if you're driving—close to the old town by car—but unfortunately not accessible by foot for wheelchair users. Accessibility was a mixed experience. There are two ramps at the entrance, but one of them is steep and not up to standard. My partner, who uses a wheelchair, couldn’t manage it alone and needed assistance. The elevator was also too small for a power chair; I had to help maneuver it in. The room itself was spacious and had two bathrooms—one standard with a jacuzzi, and the other an accessible one. The accessible bathroom was thoughtfully equipped with a raised toilet, a sturdy foldable shower seat, and a handle. However, the drainage was poor and water didn’t drain well, which made showering difficult. Another issue was the bed height—it was far too low for easy transfers from a wheelchair, so we had to use a transfer board. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of options. A highlight of our stay was Edi, one of the staff members. He was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and his fluent English with a British accent made communication much easier in a country where English isn’t widely spoken.

Disappointing Stay – Even 1 Star Is Too Much My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the air conditioning wasn’t working, making it nearly impossible to sleep comfortably. The bed sheets were dirty and even had blood stains on them. I tried changing the sheets myself, but I continued to experience itching every night — clearly, the bedding was not clean. The room was never cleaned during my stay and had a strong, unpleasant odor. The showerhead was broken, the shower itself was rusty, and the entire bathroom was in poor condition. The breakfast was equally unacceptable — it resembled leftover scraps more than an actual meal. While the hotel is conveniently located near the city center, that is unfortunately the only positive. Do not be misled by the online photos — they are completely inaccurate. When it rains, the noise from the drops hitting the roof is so loud it makes sleeping nearly impossible. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not recommended. For the price you pay, you should expect at least basic cleanliness and comfort. Honestly, even one star feels too generous.

We actually liked the place. The newly renovated family rooms with two washrooms are great. The airconditioning is good. The free breakfast has a lot of selection. There's grocery and bakeries nearby for immediate needs. Walking distance from train station and not too far away from the city centre either.

Very disappointing experience – unsafe, unprofessional, and misleading We had a truly unpleasant experience at this hotel. We made a reservation through Booking.com at 4:00 PM and received a confirmation that everything was in order. However, when we arrived at 10:00 PM, we were greeted in a rushed and uninterested manner by a grumpy staff member who said her shift was over. She told us the hotel was overbooked and she wasn’t sure if there were any rooms available. Instead of checking herself, she handed us a few room keys and told us to check if the rooms were free. Completely unprofessional. Once in the room, we discovered the air conditioning didn’t work, the shower only had cold water, and the room looked nothing like the pictures on Booking.com. What was shown online as modern and clean turned out to be outdated and gloomy. We felt misled. The worst part was the parking situation. The hotel only has 10 parking spots despite being able to host hundreds of guests. We were forced to park across the street on an unpaved, unlit lot with no security or camera surveillance. The next morning, we found that the back window of our car had been smashed, and all our luggage and shoes were stolen. When we asked the front desk for help or security footage, we were told bluntly that the hotel takes no responsibility and there was nothing they could do. No empathy, no support. In short: unsafe conditions, poor service, misleading information on Booking.com, and zero accountability from the hotel. Definitely not recommended.

If you want clean and comfort, do not come to this hotel. The hygiene was genuinely worst than a UK McDonalds toilet. When I arrived there was mould in the bathroom, yellow stains in the bathtub, hair in the bathtub. The shower head was wrapped up in duct tape. The bedding was awful too. I did not get a duvet but only the duvet sheet. There was stains on the bedding and on the pillows. The bathroom towels had stains on them too!! The breakfast wasn’t enjoyable for my taste palette but for others it may. Some of the reception staff were helpful but most weren’t. They refused to call for a taxi bigger than a 4 seater even though I saw many in Sarajevo.

We were part of a tour group so unfortunately we had to stay there. Overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke when entering the foyer/ reception area. We were put in the accessible room on the top floor. Only positive thing is the size of the room. Spigots of the bath was totally loose and unusable. Plastic casing over the power sockets in the wall was totally loose and in my opinion unsafe to use. The shower was exposed without any door or sloped floor. We had to roll towels up and put it on the floor not to flood the place. Breakfast was almost non-existant. If you really have to stay here, please make sure you get one of the revamped rooms. Some of our group were lucky enough to get revamped rooms and they said it was acceptable. Unfortunately I can't recommend staying here

We chose this hotel because of the Booking.com reviews and its 3-star rating, but it was the worst experience we've ever had. I wish we'd read the negative reviews before going; I deeply regret it. The hotel I stayed in in India was cleaner and better quality. The rooms are very small, the walls are dirty, the bathroom is adjacent to the toilet, and it's completely unhygienic. Once you see the lady at the reception and hear her talk, you realize what a disgraceful establishment you've come to. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO WITH YOUR FAMILY.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! The atmosphere was relaxing, everything was clean and well organized. I especially want to highlight Ayla at the reception , she is truly exceptional. Her professionalism, kindness, and warm attitude made me feel so welcomed. She went above and beyond to help with anything I needed, always with a smile. Ayla is a true asset to the hotel, and one of the main reasons I’d gladly come back. Highly recommended!👌

Great hotel with amazing panorama views of the city. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is well situated very near the the historical center and there are many options for restaurants and night life. The hotel cafe has a great balcony with more incredible views of the city. The only note is although there is an elevator to get to the lobby, there is no elevator to get to your room, so we had to walk up three flights of stairs. Was certainly unexpected.

AVOID - misleading rooms, they are not as advertised on Expedia. Size, bed size/type, amenities are all wrong. WiFi doesn’t work. Very deceptive. View and location are good, those are the only positives.

The friendliness of the staff is the only bright spot. At breakfast, one employee cried out loud because she had to work sick. Breakfast is basic, stale bread, limited selection of teas and coffee. There was no WiFi in the room. Noisy environment, can't open windows.

They tried to scam us with an additional fee of 50€ per person. We did not agree on that as the room price on booking.com was the same with an additional guest. They tried to force us to cancel the non refundable booking, and pay cash instead of over booking.com. After they started arguing we left this unfriendly place and booked somewhere else.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night with a tour. On our way out, even though we did not use the mini bar, they charged many people and threatened us not to give us their passports. It's a disgraceful approach. If you do not want to be treated poorly with your money in a 4-star hotel, we recommend that you choose a different hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying at the New Hotel recently and overall it was a good experience. The rooms were normal but cozy and clean. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast had a small but good variety of options. My only complaints were that it was pretty far away from the city center but convenient as it was near the airport and there were no balconies in the rooms. Additionally, when I arrived in my room, the bathroom lock was broken, surprisingly enough, almost all of the rooms had broken bathrooms locks which cannot be fixed quickly as the mechanism doesn't even allow to lock on some doors, which was a downside considering the price and look. Overall, I had a good stay but I'm unsure if I would stay here again!

Isa Begov Hamam i Hotel is a unique boutique lodging in Sarajevo, offering a luxurious experience with its storied hammam and hot tub. The hotel is housed in a converted hammam that dates back to 1890 and was originally part of a complex with the Careva Mosque. Its location provides easy access to various amenities, public transport, and cultural sites. Guests can enjoy an authentic Turkish experience with free access to the best hammam in town.
Everything was right. The staff, the effort, possibility to use hamam or other services, comfy beds, clima convectors that heat or cool the room in an instant, the distance to the centre with restaurants, the set off point to go for sightseeing run but what made me melt was the breakfast. What an omelette I had! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Just perfect. Generally the mezze type breakfast was top. I couldn't recommend more. Sarajevo with this place as an accommodation just ties together very well.

Amazing location close to Sarajevo’s old town; only a couple of minutes walk to baščašija and all the main tourist locations. The hotel aesthetic is traditional and was a perfect place to spend our first night in Sarajevo. We arrived around 9am and the staff were able to accomodate us leaving our bags for a few hours before check in. The staff were friendly and able to assist with booking taxis from the airport and to the train station.

I went to get a massage at this hamam with a friend. The massage room was not relaxing and the massage bed was just a table, without proper head support. I was massaged by a man, although the hamam is women-only in certain hours, and no choice was given to me although I was not comfortable. The massage itself was not good, the masseuse clearly was not properly trained. During the massage, the masseuse brought another person that worked there into the room without letting us know, to start massaging a painful spot on my friends’ back, hurting her and not asking for permission. Afterwards she made rude comments about our bodies and weight. The management did nothing and barely reacted. This was the worst massage and service in Sarajevo. Highly disappointing.

Not worth the money The hotel is centrally located and the building beautiful. The staff was with one exception friendly. Unfortunately, my room was next to the road and quite noisy(no change possible, I was told that ,,Sarajevo is a noisy city”). One could smell the clogged plumbing from the bathroom and the Hammam had a moldy ceiling.

With comfortable dorms and private rooms, free Wi-Fi, self-service kitchens, and a cozy common area, this hostel offers everything for a memorable stay.
An Unforgettable Stay at Balkan Han Hostel I had an absolutely wonderful time at Balkan Han Hostel. It truly stands out as one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and social, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers from around the world. The staff, including the owner, are exceptional friendly, helpful, and always ready to share local tips or simply have a good chat. Their warmth and hospitality made me feel right at home. The hostel’s location is perfect. Centrally situated, it’s just a short walk to Sarajevo’s main attractions, cafes, and public transport. Despite being in the heart of the city, the hostel offers a peaceful retreat with its beautiful green garden, complete with hammocks and seating areas a perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring. It’s a community, a home away from home, and a highlight of my trip.

Location wise, this place was excellent. The town center was a 10 minute walk and there are plenty of food options available and the museums, tourist attractions, bars etc. Konzum supermarket is a 7 minute walk away too. The workaway helpers can be a mix of being friendly or pretentious and some were way too young and inexperienced to troubleshoot issues and unable to make proper judgements and inflexible, also probably not versed with handling slightly older guests. Local staff- Sara and Edin were superb with recommendations and knew exactly what they were doing and would go out of their way to help which was a huge relief and it was definitely not walking on eggshells/cringing with the locals vs certain helpers when they were on shift. The hot water was dreadful- speed rushing in the private room to do a 3 minute quick shower before it ran out in the winter before it turned icy. Private room had a kitchen was extremely spacious. Bathrooms in the dormitory which I stayed a night was filthy in the basement and stunk at times and the bin was not cleared on certain days. At least there was proper heating! Smoking area was comfortable and the lounge was also nice. The owner was pleasant and definitely cool.

What can I say: it's a hostel. The proximity to the city is great and very useful. The staff were very friendly. But the social area being next to the bedrooms is painful, and I think the rooms are always a mixed bag based on who you are dormed with. In my case, I got unlucky, with other guests who would keep doors open, allowing the noise and light from the social area to come in and disturb my sleep (annoying when you have early tours to attend).

Plus, tea, coffee, and spices were free to use! The cleanliness and amenities of the hostel made my stay in Sarajevo absolutely delightful. I can’t wait to return in the future! As for the location, it’s not very far from the city center, though you do have to climb a steep road. But don’t worry, it’s totally manageable! Nearby, there’s a wonderful bakery and a fast food shop that sells delicious Bosnian foods like cevapi. There are also some scenic roads that take you further uphill, where you can enjoy breathtaking views. Thank you so much!

So, there are many hostels out there that are fine. It doesn't really matter which one you chose, they are all kinda the same. This here, not su much. The owner seems to hand pick the volunteers working there. It shows, not only are they very friendly and helpful, they are also willing to find solutions that go beyond protocol, Wich is very rare. The hostel is clean and the bathrooms are too, Wich is also not a given thing. The best part about his hostel tho (besides the little ones, if you know you know) is the common area. I don't know why but this hostel seems to attract really interesting people. There are you standard travelers of course but every now and then you will meet someone really special, and that happens in a quantity that's far beyond normal. If you are in Sarajevo, I hope you are lucky enough to chose this hostel. It is worth the price. - Lars

Breakfast was very nice with a choice of cooked eggs, meat, cheese and salad. Cereal, yoghurt, toast, tea/coffee and fruit juices. Really good value for money, I would definitely recommend 👍. Only downside is the steep hill. I walked up the steps the first time before I discovered if you walk up the hill a bit the climb is a lot better.

The hotel is very clean and its decoration is luxurious. The breakfast is delicious and varied, including some sweets, juices, coffee, fried eggs, meat, different types of cheese, and more. The hotel staff were polite, friendly, and helped us book a car to the airport. It was a comfortable stay that we recommend.

To some extent it’s a good hotel. Breakfast should be improved due to limitation in space . If there are 2 families eating that’s it you will not find a place . Reception girl was very kind and supportive . Walking from the downtown to the hotel is little bit tricky due to the long slope but it’s very manageable if you choose another road . As shown in the picture . Use this highlighted road .

Great facility in the centre of Sarajevo! The staff is very friendly and they prepare a delicious breakfast. The romms are cozy and you have an amazing view over the city. Totally recommend it!

Really good hotel, can recommend. Close to the city centre. But if you are looking for dinner, please do not listen to the staff. They recommended us a restaurant owned by the same owner on the other side of the city. The food there ammm... It beats hunger. (Restaurant name is Boss bistro). There are a lot of other better alternatives.

I’m glad I stayed only one night. It doesn’t have an elevator, although the receptionist was kind enough to help me with the luggage. When I arrive at the room, temperature was set at 25 C degrees, when I lower the temperature, it started making a horrible noise. I was in the third floor and you could hear the noise from the reception. It was technically the fan, but the AC didn’t actually work. Last floor, after a whole day of summer of 38 degrees, the room was hot. Lots of dead mini flies. Good location, and the receptionist did tried to help me.

A Wonderful Stay in a Perfect Location We had a fantastic stay at this modern hotel! The location is excellent—just a few minutes’ walk to the old town. The rooms were clean, neutrally decorated, and the bathrooms were spacious and well-maintained. What truly made our stay special was the amazing staff. Adin was incredibly helpful and gave us great recommendations on where to eat when we first arrived. Aldijana went above and beyond, suggesting places to visit and local dishes to try—thanks to her, we enjoyed an unforgettable roast lamb at Restoran Zdrava Voda in Jablanica on our way to Mostar. We also joined the walking tour and “The Fall of Yugoslavia” tour—both were insightful and highly recommended. We loved everything about this hotel, especially the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. We’d definitely stay here again!

Hotel Hecco is a low-key accommodation option in Sarajevo, ideally situated for exploring the city. The rooms are unassuming but clean, and some come with computers. Guests appreciate the helpful staff and free covered parking. While some mention that the breakfast could be better maintained, others praise the hotel's cleanliness and comfortable beds. The modern, spacious rooms offer good value and are within walking distance to the town center.
A 10 minute walk from the old city center. Helpfull staff, pretty basic rooms. No lift available

This hotel cancelled my booking with fewer than 24 hours notice, claiming that guests had booked the last room at reception before my online booking. They waited 9 days after confirming my booking to make this false claim. My friends were staying at the property in the 4 nights previous and reported that they felt as if they were the only guests in the hotel - they maybe saw one other person until the day they left, when a bus party arrived. This was the day they cancelled my reservation. AVOID!

RUN AWAY!!!! Bathrooms smelled of sewage, behind the sofa chair was a crusty N95, the upholstery of said chair had a HUGE oil stain hidden at the backside we discovered after folding it out to reach the socket, there was a hole in the wall next to the dresser with wires running through it and we had the saddest breakfast of our whole trip here. The coffee was more like mud, there were five choices for food: bread, cereal, tomatoes and cucumbers, sausages and eggs, all mediocre at best. Reception told us to pour water down the drain in the bathroom to deal with the sewage smell, and one of the housekeepers left a dirty well-used scrubbing mitt RIGHT NEXT TO OUR LUGGAGE.

The Hotel Lula is located in the historical center of Sarajevo and offers comfortable, small rooms with a traditional Bosnian restaurant. Rooms come with a flat-screen satellite TV and a minibar. Various tours and excursions can be arranged in one of the local agencies close to the hotel.
We visited Sarajewo last month and stayed in this hotel. The service was very good, the hotelroom was clean and the place where the hotel is located, is just perfect. Very close to the Muslim area and in general to all places to be visited in Sarajewo. I can recommend the hotel! :)
Denny B — Google review
We stayed in the hotel in the ground floor room for 2 nights. The floor looked like it wasn't cleaned in days. There were objects from previous hotel guests lying around on the dirty, dusty floor, there was mold not only in every corner of the bathroom but also by the beds. The towels were dirty aswell as the bed sheets. No wonder I noticed 1 day after our stay that I had a bedbug bite on my foot. That probably explains the extra sheet they put over the mattress. It also wasn't a surprise when we checked out of the hotel, came back 1 hour later to take our luggage and saw someone else already checking in to the room, very fast cleaning. The only good thing was the location because it is right next to the main area. But that also meant: very noisy and no chance that you can open the windows at night. At least they had bars in front of it. Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel. PS: If you don't like spiders, this is probably also not the right suit for you.

The hotel is very nice, in a very nice place, just on Bascasia. The rooms are nice and tidy. The breakfast was very nice and tasty. The staff is ok. They got a lower rating only because their website says that parking is provided. However, when you arrive, they ask for 5e per day and that cannot be paid by card. All in all, the hotel is nice, in a nice place, but it does not respect its website
Iboja P — Google review
The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. But the room we stayed at was pretty small. We didn't have a lot of room to move around. And the bed made a lot of creaking noises. Also it says on Booking that there is free parking available, but there are only 3 parking places. And all of them were occupied when we arrived. So we had to park in a nearby place and paid more than 50 euro's in two days. So if you travel with your car you should definetly watch out for that. So that's why I give 2 stars for service. But the workers were very friendly and helpfull. And the location makes it up for all other negative things.

Location was great. Staff was friendly. The rooms are in old bosnian style which we liked very much. You need to book the parking space upfrond. I have not seen this info when I booked the room. Lucky there was a parking next door. The rooms could have been cleaner.

The location of this hotel is more than ok, in the heart of the old city. The young lady from reception was very kind with us. But our room was so small, in every dimension, even in vertical one, because ceiling wasn't parallel with floor, it making an angle of 45 degree, even in the shower, where was a really adventure to not hit my head. In a few words, room isn't suitable for tall people, like us. But was clean and for a night was ok. And the breakfast was good, enough to survive till afternoon. So, all was ok.

Small Heritage hotel, established in a former Lula School, in the heart of Sarajevo. Nice and clean small rooms and bathrooms, tasty authentic breakfast - ask for Turkish coffee and you will be impressed :) Very kind and helpful staff. The hotel offers free parking places in proximity, but the parking is not secured. Did not understand why smoking is not allowed in Lula House (I'm joking, but it could be a paradox :))) )
Anca D — Google review
We really like this hotel, no it is not perfect, has a purposely shabby appearance, and the breakfast is, naturally, Bosnian and not to my taste. But if you want a more than reasonably priced hotel in the old town, with parking and WiFi I doubt you will find better.

Diamond Rain Boutique Hotel is a charming 4-star accommodation located in Sarajevo, just 500 meters from Latin Bridge. The hotel offers a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace, and a restaurant. Guests can enjoy the indoor pool and sauna or seek assistance from the 24-hour front desk and tour desk. With its pleasant staff and convenient amenities such as on-site parking, this new and clean boutique hotel is ideal for both business and family travelers.
Lovely hotel! I have to say the best part of the experience was the amazing Ali at reception. His warmth and 5-star service was something I have rarely seen in the hotel industry. I hope management seriously consider what an asset he is to them. My mother, who was a nervous driver, had some difficulty with the parking, but Ali assisted us with such enthusiasm and we left all the parking to him. It was a pleasure seeing him, with such positive demeanour each day. Faruk was also excellent - very kind, helpful and respectful. Our room (305) at the top was lovely, and we were overall satisfied with our stay. For the price of the hotel, however, the breakfast should definitely be improved (fried eggs were served cold everyday, few vegetable and fruits options that were good, etc). I also recommend checking in with hotel before hand if you plan to drive to the hotel (you may not want to take the google map route).

It is really nice that the accommodation has a sauna and a pool. The breakfast is pretty ok - in the photo it's only part of the breakfast. The earlier you come the warmer it is. The room was always clean. I loved that the bathroom floor is heated. The location is great, close to old city center. You can pay with card. We initially booked a Deluxe room with city view, but they didn't have a double bed, only twin beds - although the title said it can be double or twins.

First of all I would like to thank the guy at the reception he was extremely nice and friendly and could speak English as well. The only reason why I gave 4 not 5 starts was my room. I was disappointed but I came late from the airport and have stayed just for two nights so I didn't want to change it as I was so tired. The room number was 305, I didn't care about the view at all but it was really small. My family came a day later as far as I remember they were in 301 suit it was really great!!!! My room was small and smelled really bad. And I didn't have any towels but thanks to the guy at the reception he gave me a couple. After HK came in the morning I ve got two more cleas towels. The first day I went to the breakfast really early and it was really good the next day we went together with my family almost everything was finished. The hotel is around 7 minutes walking to the old city, around 5 minutes walking to shop Amko where they accept cards. All in all it is a nice hotel. They have just 4 parking slots. The 5th on in infront of the hotel at the street. It is a quiet place. There is a pool inside but we didn't use it. Would I recommend it? Definitely yes because of the nice staff but prefer suit rooms. P.s as I came in the holiday time in the evening all the stores were closed I wanted to buy some juice to drink but the guy told me they we out of it ;( it was a pity. Lucky that had kettle so I was able to make some tea after the flight.

True comfort, luxury and character are just a few attributes that describes this old town gem! Beautiful small hotel with private parking, lounge, small bar, elevator, swimming pool, salt room, sauna to name the few! It is all modern, lush and comfy with lots of lights and windows. One of the best furnished boutique hotels in old town Sarajevo! Very private and secluded, yet short walk from everything.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Diamond Rain hotel in Sarajevo and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived, making me feel right at home. The rooms are spacious, modern and tastefully decorated, providing all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean, ensuring a good night's sleep. The hotel is conveniently located near many of Sarajevo's top attractions, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. Additionally, the hotel offers excellent dining options, with a wide range of delicious local and international cuisine. What really stood out to me about Diamond Rain hotel, however, was the level of service provided by the staff. They were always available to assist with any queries or concerns and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was a memorable one. Overall, I would highly recommend Diamond Rain hotel to anyone visiting Sarajevo. It's a fantastic hotel with top-notch facilities and an unbeatable level of service. I can't wait to visit again!

This hotel has 4 stars. But this must be some mistake! It should have at least 5 stars! It has great rooms, breakfast is nice, personal is pleasant, and as a small boutique hotel it has pool with small sauna. Negative side is that parking is not cosy and that street where hotel is located is not easy to navigate especial if you have bigger car. Although locations of hotel is close to city center so you will not need car often. I recommend hotel to businesses but also family travel as well.

Basic but decent enough accommodation. Stayed for a single night. Super friendly reception staff. Nice breakfast area with a view. Everything was quite clean, but my room had an unmistakable smoke odor - not uncommon in BiH sadly. Would stay here again though.

We spent a week at Boutique Bristol Hotel and absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is beautifully designed, the rooms are stylish, clean, and very comfortable. But what truly makes this place special is the staff — from the reception to housekeeping to the restaurant, everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast is excellent, and the restaurant is well worth a visit. You can really feel the attention to detail and care in everything they do. It truly felt like a home away from home. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Clean, great location, in our case it was not noisy but the rooms do lack some simple things such as a bigger trashcan and perhaps storage space in the bathroom for toiletries/toilet paper and such. Also, small scuffs and other small details in the room take away from the quality. The people are great and breakfast is also awesome. Thanks!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! So we were 10 people and we booked 4 rooms via our tour company. When we walk in from 5 hour bus ride with 6 kids who were passing out on the couch sleeping and whining, the lady at the reception (whom I assume was the manager, short cut hair) told us curtly that we can’t leave unless our card is charged. Background story, our tour company booked this hotel. We don’t even speak the local language. So our tour guide explained everything, gave them their credit card and left expecting us to settle down. Like they had in the previous 3 cities and their hotels we had been to. The front desk lady, extremely unprofessional snapped back at us “you can’t move from here unless I charge your card”. We got taken aback from her tone. Were we running away? Anyways we call our tour company and some confusion from the hotel part. It got taken care of. No apology for the sharp tone by that lady. We were disappointed, but we got checked in our rooms and were happy to settle down. Nice rooms. Seemed clean and upgraded. We were happy. Then one of the rooms which slept 4 people. The AC suddenly turned off at 12:30am. Date is July 16, 2024 and there is a heatwave. We call front desk and got answered by them that there is absolutely no room available, everything is booked and they “might” give us another room at 3am if these customers don’t show up by 2am. I had a 5 year and an 8 year old in that room with me. I told my husband I will go downstairs and speak to them and plead if they can make an exception. Downstairs I try to reason with this long haired guy claiming his name was Riaz or Riyaad if he could come and take a look at the AC or move us to another room. I could not bother our family traveling with us because a) this was not their problem and b) it was 1am by that time and they were long sleeping He was so rude! He told me he had already told my husband we “might” get another room after 3am if the other parties don’t show up, all rooms booked. I asked him again if he could do something, move us to one of the empty rooms; who was bound to show up at 3am, we had kids with us. He started throwing up his hands in the air in frustration that he couldn’t do anything, it’s not his fault the AC stopped working in a heat wave and he will call me at 3am like he told my husband over the phone. I was in utter shock the way he was talking to me. I told him he was unprofessional as he pushed past me to go on his cigarette break while I was talking to him and his tone was getting harsher and harsher by minute. I told him he was being very disrespectful, I didn’t want to speak to him anymore so I wanted him to call his manager. He called me crazy lady. Who the heck speaks to their customer like that!!! I deal with clients in my IT profession, no way we would dream of speaking to our customer in that manner or tone. He started saying stuff in his language angrily, throws his cigarette out on the street with force and PUSHES ME WITH HIS BODY TO THE SIDE to his desk to call his manager. I almost fell, I’m not even kidding, I told him there was a camera there for what he did. He smirked that it probably didn’t even capture that where I was standing. His manger on the phone asks me; am I the same lady who spoke to her angrily about a parking or a car in the morning. I was like no! I didn’t even speak to her in the morning, it was my husband and his brother in law making reservations. These people are nuts!!! Then she goes on like, I’m having some “small issues with my AC”, I tell her I’m not having any small issues with your AC, it just shut down and this man is being very very rude. She gets a little confused (no idea what he told her is language) and then just says, “oh like he said all rooms are booked, we can’t do anything”. Riaz started snatched the phone from me via its cord so hard while I was STILL talking to his manager that it got pulled on my earring and started bleeding. I AM SO SO SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THIS HOTEL! Issues happen; this is NOT the way how you handle them!
Sheeza K — Google review
Great hotel and restaurant staff. Shame about the front desk staff (rude, and unhelpful). My sister in law reported an AC issue at night. Unfortunately was met by huge hostility from the front desk staff and was threatened. Similar experience with the front desk manager during check in- without the physical threats. Just rude and unprofessional.
Jalal Z — Google review
The people at the hotel were nice. However for a 4 star hotel it didn't meet expectations. The window room didn't fully close, so we could hear the cars passing through all night, and the church in the morning. In the bathroom, there was a socket for a heat drying rack, but there was not drying rack nor a towel hanger. There wasnt even a place to put the toilet paper. The fridge made weird noises at night, so we had to unplug it. The switchers near the bed also didnt work.

I've stayed in these apartments for two years, last year was okay but this one the service was so horrid that I will not be going back. The women working there were so arrogant and rude, they seemed drunk. Privacy was always an issue, in some rooms people from the surrounding buildings can see you change. Literally the only good factor is the location, but it's not worth it. Please stay away from this place.

Clean accommodation close to the city center. On the day of the check-out my girlfriend felt quite unwell because of the food last day or a virus, and it was not an option for her to leave the room at 10 AM. Our landlady was very helpful and we could stay until midday free of charge. These 2 extra hours made possible for her to travel 8 hours to home by car. Therefore, we are really grateful for them :) . I suggest using the accommodation's own parking lot, which is closed by a gate and under video surveillance. However, parking on the narrow streets could be difficult.

4.5 stars would probably be more accurate. It was a great value in a great location with very friendly people. The parking for my motorcycle was wonderful. There was an initial problem with our room, but they immediately solved it and were very friendly. We also had trouble getting back in one time because the key to the door doesn’t work when there is a key on the other side and nobody was at the front desk.

Really interesting, close to town but in a quiet area a few minutes ' walk up the hill. A huge, stunning room decorated by someone with a real passion for antiques. The hotel is a gem, and the large spaces don't make it feel cluttered despite the sheer number of pieces on display. Very friendly service. If you park in the garage, make sure to request your car early, as it can be complicated to get it out.

For sure one of the best and nicest places to stay in Sarajevo. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and has a great ancient style (mix Colonial & Biedermeier). The rooms are pretty huge and perfectly clean. The staff, especially Dzenita and team are just too lovely and attentive, leaving no desire unfulfilled. It feels like kinda coming home. Also included is a rich and tasteful breakfast buffet and fresh omelettes. 100% recommending.

Nestled on a hillside, Haris Youth Hostel offers a straightforward yet inviting atmosphere for travelers seeking comfort and camaraderie. Upon your arrival after a scenic trek, you’ll be greeted with a complimentary drink and the warm hospitality of Haris, the charismatic host who has been at the helm of this beloved establishment for over 15 years. Once serving as a bomb shelter during turbulent times, the hostel's basement bar now serves up homemade rakija and refreshing beer on tap, creating an authentic local experience.
Authentic hostel in the local style with great views from parts of the hostel. It is up a hill but is a pleasant walk and goes past a museum of the first president. There is a war victim cemetery which you can enter free. There is also a memorial and the late President is buried there. The owner, Haris, goes out of his way to be kind and helpful. On my first day, he dropped off a guest and myself in his car, free of charge into the city centre centre. He was always available when I called him , I arrived early, and he still welcomed me. He told me what to visit and the different tour guides available. He also arranged my shuttle into another city which was a lifesaver. Thank you very much Haris, Tom, from London

Haris is a champ. The hostel is nice and clean, it has a good view from the balcony, Haris runs a great tour of the town and he even put on a BBQ for everyone in the hostel one night. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hostel in itself is not Soo good and can be improve. It's clean but not so much, the water of the shower not always hot and a wifi which can be more powerful. also the location is good (for the view and 10 min from the old city) but really high which make the comeback to the hostel difficult at the end of the day or after a hard night. But the family atmosphere is really good, haris is really friendly and really helpful at anytime, he even offer us to try shots.

Haris is the man! The place he's running made me feel like home indeed. It has all these great facilities: a terrace with an awesome view, a secure motorcycle parking, a very cozy small bar and nice beds. But more importantly it has a great soul, borrowed from its owner.

I reserved a room in this Hostel for a friend for the night 24/25.12.. The very positive comments and the valuation of 8,2 on the website motivated me. But after the experience of my friend, I am very unsatisfied: The room was very cold. The small electric heater was not able to get it warm. The worst thing was, that the blinds could not be closed. The very bright spots from outside brightened the room all night long. It was almost impossible to sleep. the bathroom was cold. There was no bathmat on the cold tiles. No glass, nothing. Only coffee but no breakfast offered... Under these conditions the price of 39 BAM is far too much! The only positive: the good location! Our conclusion is: never again!

Harris (the owner) is the best host I have ever met, and probably one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever met. He made our time here amazing. You should absolutely stay here

This hostel is a good option for budget-minded travelers who want to be near the main markets and downtown Sarajevo. It has comfortable dorms with plenty of storage, a shared kitchen, and a lounge. The staff is friendly and helpful.
It's a fantastic place and clean! It have a good price and the stuff are really good and happy. The place is clean and you have everything that you need. Yes, I suppose it's a great Hostel!!!

I'm writing on behalf of a lovely gentleman who stayed at this hostel and told me his story and I believe everyone should know: First it was difficult getting any accommodations in Sarajevo at the peak of the tourist season. But one nice young lady at hostel Barcelona called around and finally found availability in Hostel For Me. It looked passable and had a friendly young staff lady who spoke perfect English. The 8 bed dorms were nice and everything looked friendly and professional, but that was an optical illusion. By the time I came back after exploring the city, the hostel was full with random mattresses all over the floor and any corner you could find. By the next day, I returned from the city, I was thrown out of my room. The staff was no longer friendly nor professional. A woman who worked there yelled at me for trying to get into my dorm saying that I no longer stay in that room and that I can go find my backpack amongst the stack of them. Seems they packed my stuff themselves and I found a lot of things missing. As an older man, my most important possession was my medicine which I found out that they threw away. None of the tourists were informed that there would be a lot more people than 8 in the dorm nor that there would no longer be a living room but a room full of mattresses and people sleeping there. Later I found out that they were taking in refugees, I respect that decision but as a hostel they should have informed the tourists beforehand and most certainly not pack their belongings and throw away their valuables and most definitely NOT their medicine! I hope whoever reads this understands my horrible situation and see unprofessionalism and rudeness of this hostel. My advice is that you DON’T stay here.

Hosetl itself was nice an clean, tidy rooms and enough bathrooms. But there were some walkt-through rooms, so if you happen to sleep there, the night can be a little loud, cause of late night walkers :)

there are nice staffs working there, it’s a cheap hostel when you compare it with others, it’s very close to the main markets you can’t find any dirts there they are cleaning all the time, the staffs are respectful people and they also deal friendly , generally i recommend this hostel for whom don’t want to spend much money while they need a clean and near place to the downtown

Clean and tidy place. Plenty of showers and bathrooms. No A/C and quite noisy but thats expected being in the centre of the old city.
