Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
LEGOLAND California Resort is a vibrant destination in Carlsbad, California, just north of San Diego. The resort features a lively hotel with LEGO-themed quarters and amenities like dining, an outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. The hands-on theme park offers over 60 themed rides and interactive attractions for kids aged two to twelve. Additionally, the SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Water Park provide entertainment for the entire family.
The rides were really fun! the food was delicious we ate at the pizza and pasta place and took advantage of the buffet the staff at Legoland are incredible. Kind thoughtful. At one point my son wanted to be in front of a roller coaster but the placement didn't provide for it. The next time he came to the lady we hadn't even seen before I said I heard you wanted to be in the front let's make that happen! Everyone is very chatty and kind and helpful we had a great day!

We had such a great time at LEGOLAND! There are so many fun things to see and do — way more than I expected. The creativity behind all the LEGO designs and attractions is amazing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The aquarium is definitely worth visiting — it was one of my favorite parts of the day! There’s a great variety of animals and it’s really well done. However, the park really needs better maintenance. A lot of things were dusty, faded, or missing pieces, some water features weren’t working, and a few attractions were closed. It’s still a fun experience, but I’d love to come back when everything’s fully restored and running at 100%!

We had such a great time. I feel its better than the zoo and maybe even Sea World. We'll at least for a 4 year old. The employees are really kind young kids, which gives me hope for the future. A young man named Juan even rode with my daughter, because we waited in line and it was just me and a 6 month old, so I wasn't able to go. He really made my daughter's day. That was so kind. The pizza, pasta and salad buffet was great. Had nice outdoor seating too. The Trick-or-Treating even was awesome. They gave out huge bags of candy that I saw all parents eating 😀. There are a ton of really neat parks with big slides and all sorts of fun stuff for them to climb on. A great way for parents to get a little rest in. We will definitely be back!!
Stacy S — Google review
First time Vacation at Legoland! We had our 8, 7 and 3 year old and my in laws with their 3 year old. I would say that this theme park is definitely for under 10 unless your kids love more action/activities then it might not be for them. Let me say this...Lego masterpieces everywhere!!!!! Amazing how all was put together to show a little of everything. We started our Sunday with Sealife and then headed to the Brick or Treat event. Kids were dressed up and they were given small bags for candies. Now the candy stations (less than 10 stations) were in certain areas and at times a little confusing with everything that was going on. I feel like it would be nice and easier if candies were to be handed out in front of the rides but thats just me. There was no waiting times during our Sunday night. They were able to get into a few rides as well as enjoying the lego art. Monday visit was a bit more busy and humid. We waited almost 20-30 minutes for the roller coaster and the duplo train ride. Other rides were less than 10 minutes. Most rides that include parents with young children have a weight limit of 330 pounds for the seat. Luckily we were able to take turns and enjoy some rides with our boys. Like i had said previously the rides are definitely for younger kids and they only last maybe less than 2 minutes and have little to no motion. My two older boys enjoyed the roller coaster and the ride that goes up and down(its in my pictures). We did a few family group rides like the big boat ride that takes you along the lake, the duplo train, and the submarine ride. We also bought the 2 day cup and the popcorn bucket but unlike other theme parks, the freestyle machines were not everywhere so it was pointless and the popcorn bucket was only refillable at that kiosk from what we saw because we asked around a few places and those places had no popcorn. The one thing that I don't know how to take it as is at this lego car exhibit my brother in law took my boys to see the car and apparently as soon as they went in the male employee there told him- that there was nothing exciting to see and dont waste your time there and instead go on the rides- so whatever his intentions were we'll never know but my son loves hot wheels so he was interested in looking at that car. So now that I pointed out my experiences I want to say that we had fun, and a few meh moments and for us it was a one time thing. Staff was friendly in the park and hotel.

Title: Not Worth the Price — Disappointing Stay for $700 a Night I booked a fully themed “Friends” room at Legoland Hotel California to celebrate my grandchild’s birthday one November 1, 2025 for one Night. Honestly, for the $700 I paid for one night, it was not worth it. I hope this review helps anyone deciding whether to book here. The room was very small and felt extremely crowded. We were given one king bed, plus a bunk bed and a pull-out bed, which sounds great but left almost no space to move around. The furniture looked old-fashioned and worn out — some pieces were chipped, the wallpaper was scratched, and parts were even peeling off. Around 4 a.m., I tried turning on the TV, but it wasn’t working. The screen said to call the cable operator, so I contacted the front desk. They told me I had to wait until 7 a.m. for someone to come in and call the company. The room was generally clean, but it was clear that cleaning was only done on the surface — not in detail. I have asthma, and I could feel dust irritation right away. Also, please note: the photos you see online when booking are not what the rooms actually look like. The hotel’s biggest advantage is that it’s right next to the park, which is convenient, but honestly, you’re better off staying at one of the nearby hotels that offer more space and comfort — especially if you’re traveling with kids.
Aide S — Google review
Took my son here for his birthday! He had a blast! The detail work is beautiful to look at! It can be on the expensive side and I wish they had more options such as all day dining for food. Would recommend to take your child here at least once in a lifetime!

LEGOLAND California is such a fun and amazing place for families! The park is clean, well organized, and full of creative attractions. The kids loved the rides, the LEGO builds, and the water park. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good too. A perfect place to spend the whole day and make great memories!
Edo — Google review
Fantastic amusement park for any Lego lover! My kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves all day. Lines weren’t too long either. Definitely worth the money for a fun day and fun memories with the kiddos.

The Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad is a unique museum that celebrates the history and significance of the music products industry. It showcases the evolution of music from early 1900s marches and rags to today's cross-cultural expressions. The museum features galleries with outstanding examples of musical instruments displayed in vintage music store settings, along with audio and video clips of familiar tunes. Visitors can enjoy hands-on opportunities to play various instruments and learn about the innovative growth of the music industry over the years.
Small museum displaying everything from vintage to modern musical instruments. Fun interactive screens to learn all about the history and making of the prices in each section. They have some cool instruments that I've never heard of before, so I learned something. Nice staff. Cute gift shop.
PJ L — Google review
This is a small but mighty museum. The musician in your family will love this place. The volunteers are knowledgeable and show pride in the museum. They will tell you everything or let you wander on your own. We had the best of both. The instruments and equipment are well taken care of. The hands-on displays were fun, and the lounge! I highly recommend you take your musician there.
Louise P — Google review
I had to come and check it out for myself. It is a nice well worth drive to come to check this place out. I thought it was gonna be a quick visit, but it turned out to be a three hour visit when you have a lot to do and see and learn if you're into music and you get lost, you will have a great time here the gift shop has a lot to offer and I was able to play violin anywhere in the facility just to listen to my acoustics.
JDiologyyy! — Google review
It's an interesting place to visit and learn about the music industry. There are several playgrounds where you can play/practice your music. I wish they had the section of speakers and headphones/earbuds.
Phuong L — Google review
Very well maintained and structured, fun place for all ages and very friendly people / atmosphere. I would have gotten a membership if I was closer. Greg made the experience more enjoyable with his excellent guidance.
G O — Google review
Small museum, but packed with fun and interesting things to see and do! Definitely worth the trip if you're into music. I'm a synth nerd and learned a lot of new info at the ARP exhibit. The whole thing is really well put together. We spent 1.5 hours here and went to every exhibit and watched most of the videos on the info screens. I'd say give it 1 hour minimum, 2 hours max. Very cool place. We were there on a Friday late morning and nearly had it to ourselves. Highly recommended!
BC L — Google review
The Museum of Making Music was an incredible experience—one of the best museum visits I’ve ever had. It blends history with hands-on interaction in a way that makes it both fun and memorable. I’ve played a few instruments before, but I’ve always dreamed of trying a theremin, and I finally got the chance here. What makes this place stand out is that nothing feels off-limits—you’re encouraged to explore and actually play the instruments. It’s the perfect spot to get inspired, whether you’ve always wanted to try music or you’re already a musician. Don’t get me wrong there are displays you cannot touch. I definitely recommend adding it to your San Diego visit. It’s right next to Legoland, which makes it an easy stop if you’re already in the area.
Joe B — Google review
We had a blast!!! I brought my mom and kids here, and we had so much fun learning and interacting with the amazing instruments. The staff was great, and it is clear that they genuinely care about the museum and the history it holds. We will be back. Highly remind making a trip to this wonderful learning center.

The Flower Fields is a seasonal attraction located in Carlsbad, offering nearly 50 acres of stunning ranunculus flowers, walking paths, and the opportunity to purchase plants. It also serves as a picturesque wedding venue with various options for ceremonies and receptions amidst the vibrant floral beauty.
Amazing place. Didn't actually "go there." Just stopped by the vantage point above it off the road close to Legoland in March 2025. Great selection of flowers in assorted colors. Perhaps next time I will pay you enter.
Jimmer W — Google review
What a beautiful place! We went on a Friday and it wasn’t very crowded. It was just gorgeous! The flowers are so pretty and fresh! We went into the butterfly room and it was pretty magical until my one year old grandson had a butterfly land on his lip and he tried to eat it! Luckily no butterflies were injured! The sweet pea maze was fun, we actually got a little lost. Everyone seemed happy who was there and the people working there were very nice! We went earlier in the day and took about 90 minutes, by the time we left the sun came out and I was overdressed. We can’t wait to go again next year.
Donna F — Google review
I’m giving The Flower Fields Garden four stars. The garden was beautiful with a stunning variety of flowers, and the presentation was lovely. 😊 The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the pleasant experience. 🍦The on-site ice cream and cotton candy shops were a delightful touch, and the food options were nice as well. 😕However, the washrooms could have been cleaner, and the butterfly section was a bit overcrowded; I expected to see more butterflies. Overall, it was a good experience, and we enjoyed our visit.
911feedmee — Google review
The Carlsbad Flower Fields are a great place to visit, especially during peak bloom. Start early to beat the crowds and bring water, sun hats, or even an umbrella. There is a lot of walking and some dust from the parking lot, so be ready for that. The flowers are beautiful, but be mindful not to step into the fields so they stay protected. There is sometimes live music which adds a nice touch. The food options are not the best, mostly hot dogs and basic snacks, but they are edible if you are hungry. Lines can get long so patience is key. For kids, there is a fun scavenger hunt that takes them around the whole field. Afterward, you can stop by the Carlsbad Outlets nearby to do some shopping or grab ice cream. Overall, it is a great seasonal outing if you plan ahead.
H T — Google review
My sister and I had a nice visit to see the May blooms at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. We got there early, around opening time, on a Sunday. Parking was easy, there were a lot of spots available at that time. The flowers were beautiful and they even had a couple of small aviaries. We enjoyed seeing all the flowers in bloom, the swallows flying above the sweet pea maze, and the beautiful sculptures that were part of the Glass in Flight exhibit.

🌸✨ The Flower Fields in Carlsbad are absolutely magical! 💐🌼 It was so beautiful to explore and see all the flowers blooming in vibrant colors 🌷🌻. Loved picking fresh blueberries 🫐 and capturing stunning photos 📸. Perfect spot for a fun day out, relaxing strolls, and making memories 🌞💛. Highly recommend if you’re in SoCal! 🌺🌿
Vanessa G — Google review
Awesome place and definitely worth a visit. My 3 year old daughter loved it!! Much more than just flowers. I drove by this place many times and my daughter always pointed to it, but I thought it was just walking around looking at flowers. I finally looked up the place online and seen it was much more than walking around looking at flowers. We slowly walked around, checked out most of the free activities, and enjoyed our day out. FYI, your shoes will get dirty, I wouldn’t wear some new kicks. You have a variety of food and drinks options, including some much needed coffee.
Phillip W — Google review
I’ve seen it from the freeway in the past, but I have never been here the experience in the history behind 125 year-old working farm with millions of beautiful flowers over 50 acres what an amazing experience and venue if I lived in California I would definitely consider a wedding or a shower or an anniversary party here. The staff was very friendly and informative. Absolutely beautiful phenomenal afternoon.

Leo Carrillo Historic Park, a 19th-century hacienda nestled in a meticulously landscaped park, is home to numerous wild peacocks. Founded by actor and preservationist Leo Carillo in the 1980s, it serves as an educational site for California's history. Visitors can take self-guided walking tours to learn about native plants, explore historic landmarks, and admire Spanish architecture at the Hacienda compound.
A true hidden gem. Seeped in history and serenity. Huge grounds for meandering around and lots of shaded areas for a relaxing picnic. Park volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. We got a nice tour of the structures and stables. Also spotted 3 peacocks strutting about.
Sunita V — Google review
Such a beautiful place to visit. So big and so much to see. I love all the plants too. There was a lot of spots blocked off and closed. There’s also wasn’t any peacocks to see which was disappointing.
Melissa B — Google review
A cute little historic ranch with some ties to old Hollywood. You can go inside most of the small adobes, take a short nature walk and see some wild peacocks on the grounds. There wre also pecial events, such as classic movie nights, which are free with reservations.
Jessica G — Google review
Their upkeep on the grounds is excellent both the landscaping and the housing. It's amazing you can walk around these grounds for free.
小艾答案 — Google review
Do not miss this beautiful, well preserved ranch! You could easily spend 2+ hours here. Very popular for class field trips. Since there is a dirt parking lot (with at least 4 handicap spaces) they do close after heavy rains. Best to call ahead to see if they are open. Numerous clean, modern restrooms. Paths for wheelchairs are clearly marked. Areas for picnics are available to reserve, too. There are some elevation changes but manageable for most. Don't miss!
James B — Google review
It was fun to see the wild peacocks that hang out at this park, and learn the history of Leo Carillo and how this actor used this ranch as a second home to get away from Hollywood in the 1930s and beyond.
Bob K — Google review
I didn't see a single peacock here. This place is on tightly-packed dirt, so your shoes and the bottom of your pants will get dirty. You can see the historic home of the original owner, but sadly, you cannot go inside as they are locked and closed. You only see them from the outside. There is nothing to do here other than walk under the sun (hardly any shade), and that's it. They do have nice, clean bathrooms. I wouldn't recommend this place. Definitely not a fun place for kids, either, in my opinion. You can walk through this whole place in 15 minutes. The best part, for me, was seeing the plants.
Alex — Google review
Always enjoyed our visit here at the ranch! We started visiting in 2020 when the pandemic started. The ranch is spacious and open. This provides ample of distance between our family and others. There are many benches and tables for people to have a picnic and kids to run around. It was fun and educational to walk around and see the architecture of the houses. The best time to visit is March to June. One can hear and see wild peacocks in the ranch. Local residents may not like to hear them because the peacocks are really loud during mating season but it is a joy to many to see the beautiful birds. Did I say that these are wild birds? Please don’t feed the birds and respect their space!!!

Awesome upscale shopping center in beautiful Carlsbad california. Perfect weather even on hot days, due to cool pacific ocean breezes. The mall is open air, ADA friendly and pet friendly. Every major brand is represented here. While it is not cheap, you can find everything under the sun. EXquisite dining options abound from ice cream vending and kettle corn to fast casual up to fine dining. Truly a paradise to behold. Highly recommended. Parking is tight however, so best to go off peak.

Pretty nice mall with good selection of outlet stores. As a surfer I particularly like to shop at O’Neil, Hurley and would always love to check out the cosmetic company store too. They have la mer in a 40% to 50% off regular priced items.

Very nice aquarium. We enjoyed it very much I love how you can be part of the aquarium. heading the starfish and anemones is small but fun. They also gave you a pamphlet so you can stamp on each section you go at the end they give you something free. If you're looking for a time out with the kids or alone etc this is the place to go very peaceful beautiful and fun. Also they do not allow strollers in. They have an area where you can park your strollers....and the gift store is card only.

We had the Hopper tickets so we did the aquarium and then we did the Brick or Treat right after. A good size aquarium for kids to see a real life Nemo and Dory and his other little buddies 😍 Lots too see for them and lego figures give it a nice touch. My little one survived but was a little tired right before we finished but we were also on the road for 7 hours before we went in.

Quick, easy, interactive, and easy for kids of all ages. I loved it because it came with my hopper and I didn't feel like I had to dedicated too much time there. I was shocked. This was better than Sea World and San Diego Zoo’s aquariums. Loved it. Simple, clean, easy to navigate. Perfect for the kids. Worth the extra money on our Lego tickets

Very cool. The entire park is geared for ages 2-12 so the attractions are smaller yet interesting and long enough to be enjoyable. There are leopard sharks and sting rays to name a few. You walk beside, under, and over for really great views! There were seahorses in several small display aquariums.

Batiquitos Lagoon is a stunning coastal wetland that offers visitors a unique blend of natural beauty and wildlife observation. Spanning 561 acres, this protected area is home to over 180 bird species, including the endangered Snowy Plover and California Least Tern. The lagoon features a delightful two-mile hiking trail shaded by riparian trees, providing ample opportunities for hikers to soak in panoramic views while enjoying the serene environment.
This is a lovely place with sparkling lagoon with water that shines in the sunshine, surrounded by tall green plants. You can take a peaceful walk or jog, spot many fascinating birds, and soak in the calming natural beauty. Plus, it's a perfect spot for capturing beautiful photos. When I visited it, I had two beautiful experiences. At 8 am, it was misty, creating a serene and mysterious atmosphere. Then, around 9 am, the sun came out, and everything was surrounded by warm sunlight, giving me the best of both worlds. It's really worth a visit!

Had an 18 carat solid gold diamond bangle sent out to them cause I sold it on eBay. It did come out as solid gold and it did test as 18 karat as well as the diamond test as diamond, but they couldn’t pass the authentication because they said that it imitates Cartier very well, even though that I put on the listing that it was unbranded I spoke to a guy named Mike gave me the wrong information and spoke to a guy named Glenn, who was very rude and very disrespectful!! I do not recommend these people. They don’t know how to test and they don’t know how to say the truth beware. I bought this bracelet two years ago from eBay and surprisingly it got authenticated and sent it to me and they claim that they cannot authenticate it because it looks like the Cartier bracelet. When my bracelet, I specifically said in the description that it’s unbranded and it’s custom-made. Luckily, I recorded the conversation between me and Mike what a shame these people are
Nana — Google review
This company is a joke. I am a certified jeweler and a GIA graduate which now I am ashamed of. I have been buying and selling jewelry for over 12 years. They failed to authenticate a designer pendant twice now because someone at the authentication department is not smart enough to identify a green stone. I changed the listing to say multi gemstone and they still fail it. Someone needs to be fired

Tamarack Surf Beach, also known as Carlsbad State Beach, is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. This sandy beach offers a laid-back atmosphere and is perfect for traditional beach activities such as sunbathing, swimming, and surfing. The wide shoreline provides plenty of space to relax and enjoy the sun or take part in more active pursuits like surfing. With excellent conditions for surfing year-round, it's a standout activity at this beach.
Great sandy beach area for miles. Lower paved walking trail beachside as well as up on the street level. Lots of overlook points, crashing surf, something for everyone. Street parking first come, first serve. Pics taken around 7am on a Sunday.
Erin K — Google review
Great for a beach day! Many stair-access points to the beach along the road so I suggest avoiding the parking lot headache and finding street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. We parked on Hemlock and our walk down to the beach was less than 10 minutes. Lots and lots of people occupying the sandy beach on a Saturday afternoon, but this was expected. The ocean water wasn’t too cold and there were lots of people boogie boarding/surfing/swimming in the water without wetsuits. Don’t forget sunscreen! The UV index can get really high even when the sun doesn’t feel scorching hot. Really enjoyed our day on Tamarack Surf Beach despite the amount of people and limited parking.

Even in autumn, you can still enjoy swimming and surfing in San Diego. The coastline of Carlsbad is straight and beautiful no matter which way you look.
T M — Google review
Loved this beach though parking is an issue because didn’t see public or private parking lots, but there were few free street parking with very few available. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant with the refreshing ocean breeze, and many people seem to be enjoying their time either in the water, on the sand, or strolling along the waterfront. A wonderful place to relax and get fresh air.

A beautiful beach in Carlsbad, California. Not too crowded, the beach stretches far, the sand is clean and free of rocks, sticks, glass, etc. The lifeguards and police will drive on the sand every hour or so to make sure no one is drinking from glass bottles, smoking, having dogs, etc. No dogs allowed here. Lots of jellyfish here (ones that don't sting).

Carlsbad State Beach is a picturesque stretch of sand with a paved pedestrian path and volleyball nets, known for dolphin sightings. It's also famous for its renowned surf spots like Tamarack, Terramar, Ponto Jetties, and The Camp Store. Early risers can join the First Light Surf Club for morning waves with a focus on mental health. Visitors can explore local surf shops and schools that solidify Carlsbad's status as a surfer's haven.
Beautiful beach! Relaxing, clean, not to crowded. Grat place to bring the family, play, read or take a nap. Is very easy to get there. Very close to the main street. You have to park on the street and maybe you'll need some time to find a place for your car, but not too much. Even if you don't park to close you will enjoy the town while walking toward the beach. Is a place with great vibes. We really recommend this place.

A Blissful Day at Carlsbad State Beach Today's visit to Carlsbad State Beach was nothing short of delightful, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and vibrant activity. The walk along the pristine beach and its accompanying walkway, stretching from town to the far end, was incredibly refreshing, truly showcasing why this destination attracts so many. The beach itself was a hub of activity. Numerous body surfers skillfully rode the 3-4 foot blue-green waves, adding a dynamic energy to the seascape. Several volleyball games were set up, fostering a lively atmosphere, and a host of sun worshipers dotted the sands, soaking in the coastal charm. Accessibility and amenities were well-provided. Concrete tables with benches were conveniently located along the overlooking roadside walkways, offering perfect spots for a break or a picnic. Restrooms were readily available up and down the main beach area, and the reassuring presence of lifeguards ensured a safe environment for all. Despite a somewhat overcast sky, the cool, clean Pacific breeze made the entire experience simply addictive. It was an ideal day for physical activity, with many walkers enjoying the scenic route and getting their step counts in. For those looking to refuel, plenty of foodie options are conveniently located nearby, just across the road and in town. Parking, while seemingly getting close to capacity at the train station lot where I parked, appeared adequate overall. All in all, it was a very pleasant, beach-enhanced day that left a lasting impression. Carlsbad State Beach truly delivers a fantastic coastal experience.

South Carlsbad State Beach is generally well-regarded for its beautiful views, spacious campsites, and proximity to amenities. However, it can get crowded, especially on weekends, and parking can be limited. Some reviewers mention the lack of beach access from certain campsites and the noise from neighboring campers.

This place is rad. I drone here frequently. Super serene. Great views and landscapes. Good place to go and just veg. If you like a quiet place to meditate and just get lost in your head, this is the place for you. Local animal life is here too. Great place for photography and art lovers alike. Put this place on your agenda. You won't regret it. I promise. This is a good place for you too if you're a hiker. What's nice about Agua Hedionda, is the hike isn't that strenuous. So you're able to take, say for instance, your mom or grandpa. So it makes it a great place to hike with someone who perhaps doesn't get to hike much, because most hikes are just too hard for them. I bring my mom here all the time. It's scenic and beautiful. Right on the coast. Short hike with the fam. All around awesome place to be.

Lovely place to walk with multiple paths such as Hubbs Trail providing access to the Agua Hedionda Lagoon. Thanks to the hard work of the community and the stewards of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, trails are well-tended and safe. Well worth a visit, along with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Discovery Center (at Cannon Rd and Faraday in Carlsbad on the east edge of the Lagoon) where visitors can learn about the ecosystem of this beautiful place. This unique venue offers New England fare and provides an immersive historic restaurant experience by recreating the Headquarters of the Revolution. It's not just a dining spot, but also serves as a distinctive wedding venue with indoor event space capable of hosting up to 220 seated guests.
Our visit to The Green Dragon Tavern in Carlsbad was nothing short of exceptional! The historic ambiance of the tavern adds a unique charm, making it more than just a dining spot—it’s an experience. Beautiful museum/restaurant in Carlsbad near the Flower Fields. Kid friendly, and wonderful proprietor who stopped by to greet us at dessert. Really lovely atmosphere, spotlessly clean, and very delicious food! I had the turkey pot pie, and it was wonderful!

What a neat place. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the museum portion as we were on a bit of a time crunch, but just the overall ambiance and environment of the place was really cool. The gentleman that seated us then ended up as our server was patient and helpful and genuinely friendly. This was by far the best dining out experience we have had in a long time. The food was amazing as well. The lobster rolls are huge and flavorful and well worth the price. Blackened cod tacos were also super good and not skimped on at all. Everything was great. Highly, highly recommend and if we ever find ourselves out there again we are going back.

Had fun in this New England themed restaurant. The portions were hearty. The Turkey pot pie was well seasoned and a tiny bit peppery. The parmesan fries were perfect. I also really enjoyed the soup of the day. Check it out and also look over their fun exhibits.
Identity T — Google review
We came here for a weekend dinner. We made a reservation just in case but it wasn't super busy, so we could have walked in. Since we got here a little later in the day, we didn't get to check out the museum. There are some exhibits, paintings and information in the dining hall itself. I think I expected this to be more museum like, but the dining space was modern, neither a tavern, nor a museum. The food was ok. We got a red wine and a cucumber based cocktail, the sesame calamari for an appetizer and the jambalaya and Connecticut lobster roll for entrees. The jambalaya was very good. The calamari was interesting - not too fried and accompanied by tempura veggies. The veggies were honestly more tasty than the calamari. The lobster roll was not good. The lobster was dry and pretty bland by itself. The Connecticut version was warm. The bread seemed too thick and no amount of lemon or butter seemed to add any flavor. We paid a pretty penny for everything and the food was just average, so this wasn't a great culinary experience. Our server was nice. There are better dining options in the area, so we will not return.

Delaney delivered an all-encompassing experience. History, culinary arts, hospitality, all of the above. This empress revived the experience for our generation. I won't lie, as gen-z, this place was initially off-putting with historical and cultural context, but this DIVA put everything into context, delivered bespoke service, and made us feel as though we were at a country club. Her knowledge of the menu as well as the history solidified a musaïc experience that made the Green Dragon not a restaurant, but a destination for historical appreciation and culinary artisanry. I'm sure everyone is lovely, but I will specifically request Delaney any and every time I bring myself, my friends, and my recommendations. This wasn't 'Queen' Delaney, this was tea-pushing, musket-loading, revolutionary "Delaney" 🇺🇲

Just finished playing here and I will tell you the design of the course is fantastic. A lot of rememberable holes, flowers planted in the perfect spots, cool water falls as well. The course is challenging but fair. The conditions of the course were pretty bad. Greens were very nice but fairways were horrible. A lot of time you were hitting off dirt. We paid close to $350 a person and expected much more at that price point. If they can fix up the fairways I would recommend this course but at that current conditions I would not recommend paying what we paid.
Nick S — Google review
Beautiful course, challenging holes. But, if you don't like slow play, then this is not the course for you. There were 4 groups stacked up on the tee, and the "player assistant" wouldn't do anything about the slow group. He actually said "You're just playing faster than them". No, they are playing slower than everyone!

What an amazing course, I could say this is a very well taken course with amazing scenery and landscape. The only hole that needs some attention number 17. Besides that the staff was very attentive, and a great experience with challenging course.
Jonathan R — Google review
I was here for a corporate retreat and played the course in a scramble and used the practice facilities on a separate day. The resort itself was great. The golf course was pretty disappointing if I am being candid. The greens were great, very challenging and in good if not great shape. The fairways were shockingly bad, in all fairness maybe its a seasonal thing but I would think southern CA like my home state of FL would maintain good conditions year round. Lots of invasive grass and weeds and a plethora of bald spots. Very hard to imagine an LPGA event being played here. I think the course would be a gem if in better shape, few weird holes but I don't mind that typically. Resort course layout makes it a course that is fun for all skill levels. Hope they recent punching of fairways helps fix the issues because if I had to pay north of $300 I would be very upset with the quality of the course.

Over three hours, you'll visit six food and drink tasting locations while your local guide shares insights into the area's history, culture, and architecture.
We had a great time with David as our guide. We had 6 different tastings and was plenty of food for a meal. Not only was the food amazing, he was very knowledgeable about the local history of the area and it was fun to learn about the different places we went to. We went back and had full meals at three of the places we tried, and they were all exceptional! Loved the tour, A+ rated.

This tour was so wonderful. Ben was our guide and he took us to such great places to taste amazing food. He gave us so much information about the town as welll as showing us some fantastic artwork by local artists on walls thoughout the tour. We loved it and are going to look at the Encinitas tour!

Nature & Parks
South Carlsbad State Beach is a popular destination for locals and tourists, offering a variety of outdoor activities such as swimming, surfing, diving, fishing, and picnicking. The beach features free parking, easy access to the shoreline, clean facilities, and stunning cliffside views. With nearly five miles of coastline, it's an ideal spot for camping at the south end or enjoying paved jogging paths along the water.
Camped here for a night in one of the “premium sites”. It was flat enough for easy sleeping. Clean camp site, well organized campgrounds and staff was pretty nice at check in. The views were fantastic, and well worth paying for an oceanfront spot IF you are lucky enough to land one. I could easily see staying here comfortably for a week.

Great place all year long. Hard to get a spot, so book 6 mts in advance.

This beach is really nice. I'm impressed with how clean it is here. I used to work for ceo program cleaning up the local highways. We stopped here to kill time and enjoy the amazing views. North County san diego is super nice and I look forward to coming back here someday in the near future. These photos were taking on my old samsung galaxy phone.

Beach is beautiful, but over priced, lack of maintenance, beach look out point was closed because of much needed repair. The Money the state is making on this campground and for the repairs it needed is a shame.. the biggest complaint I have is the noisy noisy highway ... All hours of the day and a at night, motorcycles blasting up and down the highway......
John — Google review
Just finished our stay there and I have to say this might be my new favorite state beach. We've stayed at one of the state beaches every year for about 20 years. Pros: sites are well maintained, bathrooms and showers are VERY clean, the beach itself is great, not a lot of rocks on the beach or excessive seaweed when we were there. The squirrels weren't crazy and the bugs weren't bad either. Though we did find one Jerusalem cricket. If you don't know what that is, don't Google it, you'll have nightmares but they are fairly harmless. The site is close to Costco and lots of cute touristy shops. Cons: the beach itself is NOT handicap accessible. The only access is by a nearly 3 story high, switchback stair case. It makes bringing chairs and umbrellas down and up a really big pain. I don't have a great option for making it more accessible but it is an inconvenience. I do wish there were bathrooms close to the stairs entrance so you're not huffing and puffing all the way up the stairs, just to have to walk another 10 minutes to get to the bathroom. My only other con is that the website says each site should fit 3 cars. Our site definitely could not have fit 3 cars worth of people because it was 1/2 taken over by a large bush. If we hadn't booked additional sites our group would not have fit. It is a very busy beach so we likely would not have been able to secure another site for the week. All in all we had a great time and I believe this will be our beach of choice for next year. We will definitely be planning things a little differently for next time.

Our family has been camping there 35+ years. I wish the camp store still carried merchandise with the South Carlsbad State Beach logo instead of the beach store

The beach looks pretty good. The parking lot is open till 7.30 pm at summertime, but you can park your car on the street if you find a spot (lucky you ☺). Only propane grills, no wood and charcoal (that's a sad thing).

Nice beach in Carlsbad. Easy access to the beach right off of the road with decent amount of parking. Scenic views, access to waves, amble locations to set and enjoy and space to roam

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Campfire is a popular indoor/outdoor restaurant known for its wood-fired American cuisine and creative cocktails, set amidst a camping-themed decor. Housed in a midcentury Quonset hut adorned with quirky outdoor elements, the restaurant features a 12-foot wood-burning hearth that infuses smoky flavors into various dishes, such as crispy roasted broccoli with chermoula sauce and grilled octopus with Jimmy Nardello peppers.
I was told repeatedly how phenomenal Campfire was. My expectations were high, and even those were surpassed. All the food was absolutely delicious. The presentation, the service, the atmosphere. They excelled in all of these. I was extremely glad we came here for my girlfriend’s birthday. They were so kind and courteous. Absolutely worth a 2 hour drive just to dine at this establishment.
Christian N — Google review
Atmosphere - great, casual to formal vibe, natural and friendly vibe Service - really good! Food - Cornbread - mind blowing Broccoli - do not skip, especially if you like kale Chips. It’s impressive how they so evenly dehydrated the top of broccoli Fish - to be honest, fish right after the broccoli-the charcoal taste was too overwhelming for me. It’d be nice if they give tips on ordering a balanced menu! Very nice restaurant. Would recommend.
Jenna M — Google review
We went for so many things in the menu and they were all terrific! Oyster warmed over coals, smoked oxtail dashi, pickled onion Bluefin crudo, strawberry, rhubarb, mint Carrots charred, preserved huckleberry, honeycomb, fromage blanc Charred broccoli, chermoula, lime, peanut Pork belly smoked, rainbow carrot, pistachios Koji dry aged ribeye, chimichurri Potato Au gratin with double smoked bacon, charred onion and raclette cheese Passion fruit sorbet Baked Alaska to finish it off. Service was excellent, ambiance was very nice for a date. It’s mid and family friendly too.
Jarred P — Google review
I really enjoyed the smoky undertone of the menu. The dishes illustrated the combination of high quality ingredients with creativity and levity. I enjoyed my mocktail Apres ski. We had the smoked olives, bread smoked oysters and whole head of charred broccoli as starters. The broccoli was absolutely flavorful. I like my Octopus main course very much. One of our guests was vegan and there were options to adopt dishes to make them vegan. I love that they offer such flexibility.
Teresa W — Google review
This is exactly the kind of very dark restaurant I usually dislike — impossible to get decent food photos. But the food was so good, I’ll let it slide. 🤣 Among new American restaurants, this one really stands out. Nothing too salty or heavy, just beautifully fire-roasted dishes with well-balanced, flavorful sauces. The dessert was a highlight: a very creative panna cotta, layered with watermelon and bright citrus notes — surprisingly good and memorable. As untrained diners, we felt the complexity of flavors in some dishes almost hit a Michelin one-star level.🌟 For appetizers, we went with the waitress’s recommendations: cornbread, crisps, pork belly, and oysters. All amazing — I’d recommend every one of them. The entrées were a bit less exciting. Still good, just not as impressive as the starters. I liked the pasta and grilled fish, but the chicken was pretty underwhelming. All in all, definitely worth a visit — just don’t expect to come away with nice photos!
Jackie Z — Google review
Campfire was a real treat for a birthday celebration. We opted for outdoor seating, which was on a lovely patio with heated lamps — so comfy it felt like we were inside! Food was superb, the waitresses really know the menu. Got the blueberry rosemary cornbread (yummy, melts in your mouth), beet salad (so fresh, goat cheese very good), mushroom cavatelli (the freshest pasta!!!), and finished off with a decadent pumpkin baked alaska (suchhhh a treat!). Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. It was the perfect end to a fun day in Carlsbad.
Andrea Y — Google review
Truly amazing diner and birthday!! It was my families first time at campfire. Both the food and service were unique and special. Ive included photos but i thought the octopus was fantastic, while Ive had a lot in the past this was amongst the best. The cornbread should not be missed. The carrots were not my favorite, with the spice rub feeling a little grainy in my mouth, the family thought it was awesome. This restaurant is Instagram worthy but tastes better. I also brought my 6 year old son, and they treated him so well and with such kindness. To cap it off, they left a signed note from the staff and gave me a slice of confetti cake for my birthday 🎂🎈 Just perfect (the drinks were amazing too)
Camille M — Google review
I love the concept of this place, and the theme/decor is well done. I also appreciate the simplicity of their menu and focus on making each dish well. We had a reservation and the staff seated us without much wait. The service was excellent and thoughtful. The dishes (cornbread, beet, market fish) were beautifully prepared and the portions were just right. I wish I had room for desert. We'll definitely be back again. I recommend arriving early because street parking may be challenging.

The Craftsmanship Museum, located in Carlsbad, California, showcases a remarkable collection of miniature models made from metal and wood. Visitors can marvel at the intricate craftsmanship displayed in the form of engines, buildings, vehicles, and model airplanes. The museum is a celebration of skilled artisans worldwide and offers a fascinating glimpse into their artistry and innovation.
Great place to visit if you're interested in machines of any kind from trains to planes to racecars. Visited on Saturday and spent about two hours like Google Maps suggested but it definitely wasn't enough time. I only got to thoroughly look at a couple models and briefly skimmed 80% of the museum. The models include a quick blurb on their design, inspiration, and purpose. If you're still confused, the docents would be happy to explain it to you. All in all, I think this museum is very well worth the time of any engineer of any discipline and a must see for the general public. Will be visiting again if I get the chance.
Cactusof T — Google review
We were a group of six, ages 3 to 63, and everyone of us found something to love here. Obviously we couldn't do as thorough of explore as we would have wanted but WOW this place is AMAZING. Incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable volunteers are there to answer questions. The models are varied and so well presented. The Craftsmanship Museum is a real treasure!

Hidden Gem in Carlsbad – A Must-See for All Ages I stumbled upon the Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum in Carlsbad, CA, and was completely blown away. Tucked inside a small commercial area, this museum rivals exhibits you'd expect to find in Balboa Park or other major institutions. The level of detail and true artistry on display is unbelievable. Every piece is a testament to lost craftsmanship and engineering excellence. I spent about two hours exploring, but honestly, you could spend days here and still not absorb everything. What makes it even more special is the team behind it—dedicated volunteers who are incredibly friendly and eager to share knowledge. To top it all off, admission is completely free, though donations are encouraged (and absolutely deserved). This kind of craftsmanship is a dying art. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and visit—and please consider donating to help preserve this amazing space for future generations.

We were nervous about visiting this museum because the website said that most kids under 13 would not enjoy it. Well, we completely disagree! I took 3 families here with a total of 7 kids and everyone loved this museum. There was a 3D printer, scavenger hunts, planes, boats, cars, engines, cranes, miniature doll houses, a model of the Capital building in Washington D.C., and so much more. The scavenger hunts came in multiple difficulties from pictures to fill in the blanks. We found a chef slipping on a banana peel, counted all the cats in the 3-story doll house, found grandpa in the bathroom, viewed one of the fastest remote controlled cars, saw all sorts of moving machines and parts, found the London Bridge, etc. Just be aware that the doll house with the old saloon is as high as it is for a reason... don't lift the kiddos up to peer into the second story (or else they will see a topless call girl waiting for a payer). Otherwise, I did not notice any content inappropriate for kids. I do wish the teaching on machinery and engines was a bit more child approachable, with possibly an area that kids were allowed to touch everything, and maybe kids had the challenge of building a machine or miniature of their own. All of our kids left with 3D printed geckos which were a hit. Overall, this was a fun museum to spend an hour or two (if you have kids, that is all they will handle because controlling themselves not to touch is taxing). Remember to stay with your children at all times to make sure they do not touch anything... and don't forget to fill out the scavenger hunt to earn your surprise. Take the time to talk to any workers using the machines as they are very knowledgeable. Donations are appreciated to keep this museum running... so if you had fun, please donate!
Mark H — Google review
Run by very kind gentlemen, explaining things when you have questions and willing to do demonstration of the exhibits. It's an amazing place, ideally, you should take time to see all the details to really enjoy. I had the time of my life.

Incredible collection of some of the finest miniature homes, aircraft, ships, engines, etc. anywhere in the world! Plan on spending a couple of hours here. The docents are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They do have demonstrations periodically. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and plan to return in the future. A great visit for ALL ages. A small gift shop is on site, too. Free to visit but they do appreciate donations. Do yourself and your budding engineer a huge favor by stopping here. Plenty of parking as well as handicap friendly.
James B — Google review
This free museum displays a pleathera of miniature hand-made builds of a wide range of vehicles, aircraft, ships, trains, spacecrafts and work vehicles. Most modules were crafted by ameture builders fabricating all the detailed parts from raw materials taking years to complete. The Museum also includes mini weapons, tools, and vintage toys. Along with a section on wood working crafts, including doll houses and finally crafted toothpick structures of historic structures and wood-worked toys and a scale module of the DC Capital building. A treat for all ages. Friendly Volenteer staff are ready to greet you and answer questions. Donations are gladly accepted and photography is welcome.

K1 Speed is a chain of indoor racing centers that offer electric go-karting suitable for all skill levels. The venue in Carlsbad provides family-friendly fun for those over 48 inches tall, making it an ideal spot for families and groups of friends. It also offers special group rates for various events such as birthday parties, corporate team building, and more. With the largest indoor karting track on the West Coast, high-performance electric karts provide fast acceleration and an adrenaline-filled experience.
K1 Speed is a fantastic spot for team outings, corporate events, or just a fun day with friends. They offer both regular and drift-style races, which makes the experience exciting and unique. The track is super fun and technical perfect for experienced racers like me, but also great for beginners. The staff give a brief safety and driving instruction before the race, so it’s easy even if it’s your first time. The team is professional and friendly, and there’s a food court on site along with arcade games and pool tables to enjoy after racing. Overall, a great value with prices under $40 per person. Can’t wait to come back!

This K1 location in Carlsbad is a notch above others we've been to. Really large indoor space with the track/cars, an area for some arcade games, air hockey and pool table, a seating area to watch the races, and a restaurant/eating area with a decent menu offering with bar style bites and bottled soft drinks. The staff was super helpful and friendly. They offer junior and adult races. We bought a package of two races each and that was plenty. My hands were a little sore after two races from gripping and steering so intensely. A super fun place and we will be back.
Jenny R — Google review
Took my kids on a Monday. Wait time was about an hour and a few minutes 😑. 2 laps for 3 kids was $190. Food and drinks are available for purchase. The place has a dining area so enough seats while you wait. Also there's some arcade games to play while you wait. Enough parking. Restrooms available. The track is not that big but the kids had fun. I'm not sure if Mike is the manager but he resolved any problems people had. He does a great job managing the place. The employees are helpful, nice and professional. Will definitely return.
Haydee H — Google review
Fun family outing! Kids had an excellent time - started out right when K1 opened, so there was space and time to get used to the karts and track. Three races worked out well. It allowed them to get quality races in, while being just long enough for the adrenaline rush and hand grips to start fading. The discounted ticket packs are helpful, especially since you can use the races across multiple visits. Since the carts are electric, the facilitators can immediately slow all carts if there is a spin out / crash (great safety feature).

First time, took my 15 yr. old gr-son. A bit confusing but we managed to get signed up. The staff didn't give us much instruction, again FIRST TIME! We watched a few races b4 getting in the race. What an EPIC time...birthday boy was happy and I was thrilled that he had a great experience. We'll be back.
Bbb S — Google review
The staff here is awesome! We had three in our party, we paid for two races and the necessary license. But because of some physical issues, I had to get out of the go-kart Before the Race began and tell them that I couldn't drive the car. They immediately told me no problem they would refund us for the races I couldn't drive. There was no hassle or issue they were just really accommodating and made me feel like it wasn't a problem when I was really embarrassed. The staff was a professional and accommodating, surprisingly professional given their youth. They are well trained.
Samuel T — Google review
All the staff were friendly and very helpful. They were organized and got all the races through in an orderly fashion. I’m a bigger dude so two different staff were quick to help me with adjusting my seatbelt straps. Additionally, the food was surprisingly awesome. The pizza and the wings were excellent! I would even consider coming just to eat, although that would be ridiculous cause I would then have to drive and race Lol. Great work K1!

Or as I like to call it.. CARLSBAD Farmer Market. So..of the farmers markets in our North San Diego area, I really enjoy this one. I find the quality and number of Organic and small farms offer competitive pricing and at the same time bring to the forefront really high quality vegetables and produce. But, we also go the the Fench Sandwhich Maker, we buy Bread, Chimmichuri, Mushroom varieties, hand made pizzas. We search for stuff you cant find in the stores. All while enjoying the beach vibe. They have foods stands that make all sorts of stuff from all sorts of places, the store fronts are open if you want to shop or get a beer.. When we go our Ocenaside home, we always shop here first and feel really good about the food we get and eat well at home. Love love love

What was once a Farmer’s Market is now 1/2 food vendors and very expensive pastries and it also includes a produce booth that the cult “The 12 Tribes” has. If you don’t know about The 12 Tribes look them up and you’ll be shocked. Their booth gives off a very creepy vibe and this will definitely keep me from going there again. Every produce booth is so expensive, yes I know it’s local grown but come on $3.99 a lb for a tomato that weighs more than 1.5 lbs.
Julie S — Google review
A smallish, but nice farmers’ market in Carlsbad. There were many options both in fresh vegetables/fruits and ready to eat food. There were at least 3-4 bakeries represented and our favorite was the Prager Brothers. Free parking was easy to find. Before or after, one can stroll around all the boutiques right around the Farmers Market. There was a street performer playing the hand pan and a few other instruments at the same time. Yes, he was quite busy, but the music was soothing.
Big C — Google review
I absolutely LOVED this Farmer's Market!!! I can't wait to go back!! I bought soaps, organic tea, and will be back for fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables, olives, pumice and more! Definitely recommend coming here. It's every Wednesday.

The State Street Farmers Market is hands down one of the best local markets around! The vibe is super welcoming—lots of friendly vendors, fresh produce, and unique local goods you don’t find in big grocery chains. Everything feels community-driven, from the seasonal fruits and veggies to the baked goods, flowers, and artisanal products. What I love most is the variety—you can grab farm-fresh strawberries, try out small-batch honey, snack on street food, and even pick up handmade crafts, all in one visit. It’s not just a market; it’s an experience. The live music and lively atmosphere make it a perfect midweek outing, whether you’re shopping for groceries or just strolling with family and friends.

Good Skate park but I would clean your hands when you go to the park because there is so many dirty kids there and they should add a pump track near the skate park because more people would come to Alga Norte.

Great park, lots of fun and it’s right next to a splash pad and swimming pool, so that was nice. I will however say that I wish a park would just put in a playground that would accommodate kids 1-3, this park doesn’t do that. Otherwise, it was great!

It is a really nice park. Coming down the road I thought I was going to find stores and restaurants but it is a park. It is very complete let me tell you. The först thing I have seen is the kids playground. Then I notice the other building and the have a couple of sport pools. There's an information office with two ladies, really nice. I was able to find the bathroom bear the basketball court at the end of the buildings. They are really nice, clean and have the amenities necessary. I also see a baseball field and maybe also tennis and there's another one I don't reach to see. You can even cook here!! There's a huge parking structure. Skateboarding space and a dog park that I haven't seen but this lady with a dog told me it is somewhere near the basketball court along the path in that area. Seems like they have a lot of activities!! Best place if you live in Bresi Ranch!

The moment you step in, you’re greeted with a cozy coastal atmosphere, charming architecture, and a relaxing energy that makes it a perfect spot for a stroll—especially at night. The highlight for me is the beautiful central fountain, which lights up in vibrant colors after sunset. It creates a peaceful, almost magical ambiance that makes evening walks feel extra special. You’ll find a nice mix of local shops, boutique stores, and great restaurants all around the courtyard. Whether you’re grabbing a bite, hunting for a unique gift, or just enjoying a warm California evening, this place delivers a memorable experience. A great spot for locals and visitors alike—highly recommend if you’re in the Carlsbad area.

Me and my friend went in for a check out it was around noon. The bartendress and waitress were friendly. We sat around and look at the nice place asking question just curious. I had Chocolate cheese cake pretty yummy. One day will be music night.

Great place to spend time on the beach, see superb sunsets, shop, and attend the farmer’s market. This will become my vacation routine.

Small two-story pleasant-looking shopping center with gift shops, real estate offices, restaurants and drinking establishments, a few clothing stores, a game store, and a wonderful Gelato shop. The Taste of the Himalayas is a good restaurant with a full menu of Indian and Himalayan foods. There is a new game shop in the plaza that will eventually have food and drink. The open grassy plaza in center is a nice place for families to hang out. There's even a giant chess board with equally large chess pieces.

Awesome place if you're looking for the busy entertaining vibe of a weekend evening! Lots of eateries, shops, come for lunch, walk around, go to the beach (5 minute walk) to watch the sunset, then come back to get a few drinks. Parking is a nightmare tho. Pro tip: park somewhere else, then take the train in (train station next block over).

The guys are running a scam. We went to naked Cafe and this ticket was on our window. We have a handicap placard AND had talked to the parking attendant. This lady told us that she didn't recognize our car and this put a ticket on it. This ticket was not valid, was harassment. The lady changed her story 3 times as to why the car was ticketed (1.it's employee parking, which it's clearly posted it is not, it is for customers which my photo proves we were...2. that it's was posted, which it was not 3. That handicap doesn't apply, it does) please also note that we did not violate a time limit which would not apply to handicap anyway and that they do not have the proper signage posted for handicap parking which requires the California code and other details. She also said it was a private lot and they can do what they want, which again is a violation of several laws including restricting access to disabled patrons. This was a scam for 60 dollars and is disgusting. We were not the only ones ticketed, there was a line of people that were arguing their bogus tickets. My guess is the( lazy parking person i guess that's the company) likely ticketed most of the cars and just hope to get away with it. We want total recision of the ticket and an apology from the staff that discriminated against us and illegally ticketed us. If we are not satisfied within 3 days of this posting, I will seek further claim with a disability lawyer and ask the public that got illegal tickets should complain to management.

The foundation's Nature Center offers guided walking tours to educate visitors about the lagoon's significance to local flora and fauna. It is one of the last remaining tidal wetlands along California's southern coast, providing wildlife-viewing opportunities and serene marshy trails for hiking.
Easy hike with the perfect nature center / welcome area. Peaceful and serene.

Great area to hike in Carlsbad or technically walk because the trail is too easy. Great on a sunny day to walk around the lagoon(s).

Beautiful place to walk on a sunny day, lots of places to explore on the trail not off the trails. Clearly marked areas that are open or closed to public use. Beautiful habitat area. You can walk under the Interstate 5 freeway and fish. Super cool views
Tim W — Google review
Most pleasant hike of the 66 miles of official trails in Carlsbad. Decent amount of shade, lots of covered benches to relax and enjoy the view (we like to eat takeout food there as an ad hoc picnic). Bikes are verboten. Lots of dogs, keep yours on a leash, please.
John W — Google review
Love walking or running the trails at Batiquitos. Dog friendly, mostly flat trail with lots of places to stop, rest, & soak in the peaceful scenery. Plenty of dog bag and trash spots too and they have water dish by the main entrance for dogs. Or, hike the hill trails for more of a challenge. But truly, not too hard, good amounts of shaded areas, great for families. 3 miles total if you walk the main trail all the way down & back.

Very nice trails for walking and running. It is pet friendly as long as your pet is on a leash. Unfortunately, especially for me, biking is not allowed. But I would still recomend it. There are tons for birds and wild life. As well as an online tour for people who want to learn more about the geography and history. Definitely will be coming back soon.

The Carlsbad Aquafarm is a great place to experience the origins of oysters. The farm produces these succulent aphrodisiacs in an environmentally-friendly way by working hand-in-hand with USCs Wrigley Marine Lab. Each tour lasts an hour and offers educational and entertaining experiences.
INCREDIBLE! COOL! AMAZING! INFORMATIVE! GREAT! MEMORABLE! INTERESTING! WONDERFUL! i could continue with the positive words but if you haven't already booked a guided tour after seeing all of the other 5 star reviews, what are you waiting for? i highly, highly suggest visiting this place for a tour. we booked ours the night before a small road trip / day trip to Oceanside from LA County and i expected this to be good but it completely surpassed all of our expectations. we were led by "bert" who said he hadn't been working there long but it seemed like he was a natural when talking about the process the oysters go through, the equipment and really anything else that popped up on the tour or a question someone asked him. we honestly couldn't stop talking about how cool the sustainable development is for the rest of the day, their mission and the great tasting samples of the oysters at the end of the tour. i do advise arriving a few minutes early to your tour as it is a small parking lot on site. we are planning on purchasing some product in the future and hopefully visiting again as well because we had such a great experience from beginning to end.

We recently had the pleasure of doing the weekend farm tour and tasting at Carlsbad Aquafarm, and I can't say enough about this place – it's a true gem for seafood enthusiasts! 🦪 From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who were eager to share their passion for oysters. The farm tour was not only educational but also an immersive experience that left me in awe of their sustainable practices and commitment to preserving the environment. The highlight, of course, was the hands-on exploration of the touch tanks. I got up close and personal with a variety of shellfish, including the biggest, most beautiful mussels, oysters and others I've ever seen. The oyster shucking demonstration was a real treat, and shucking my own oysters with a breathtaking view of the lagoon was an experience I won't forget. The provided tools, lemons, hot sauce, and water - everything we needed. And let's not forget the star of the show – the oysters themselves! The generous tasting of six oysters was an absolute delight. They were undoubtedly the biggest, freshest and most flavorful oysters I've ever had the pleasure of savoring. Each one was a burst of oceanic goodness, and it's safe to say I won't be looking for oysters anywhere else. Carlsbad Aquafarm is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates sustainable seafood and a unique, hands-on experience. The dedicated team, stunning lagoon views, and, of course, the incredible oysters make it a five-star experience all the way. I can't recommend this place enough – you won't be disappointed!

C B — Google review
What a gem! We live just up the street from the Aquafarm and were excited to learn that they'd started doing tours. The Aquafarm is not only important to the local ecosystem, but they have a beautiful symbiotic relationship with the local water plant, the restaurant industry, and the Carlsbad community. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about sharing the science behind the work done at the farm. The location is clean and seems well cared for, and it was hugely informative to get hands on education (yes, you get to hold everything from baby to monster clams). And then, of course, to get to shuck and eat. There's nothing like super fresh seafood, and it tastes even better to do the shucking yourself. They provide Tabasco and lemon (yum!), a protective glove, a shucking knife, and useful instruction, and then allow you about 30 minutes to shuck to you hearts desire. Let me tell you, there was NO shortage of oysters. We all agree, this is the perfect activity to share with out-of-towners, friends, even coworkers! Parking was easy, the tour is well worth the price, the guide was knowledgeable, and what a scenic treat! Will definitely be back!
Aubrey V — Google review
We had a fun experience. Olivia was our tour guide and she was very informative and answers all our questions. Location is beautiful and well maintained. I learned how to shuck oysters and you get to try 6 oysters at the end of the tour. Now we know where to get the freshest oysters. I will not buy anywhere else because you can taste the difference. You can order 1 dozen for $20 and they packed them in plenty of ice. If you are planning to purchase some you can bring a cooler with you. Overall, fun for a date or with family and friends. $35 per person. Depending on the time or what month you are going please bring a hat and apply sunscreen. Arrive 5-10 min before your tour appt. Book ahead because the tours are filled quickly. They also have mussels.
Ria L — Google review
Carlsbad Aquafarm is a mussel and oyster farm. It’s a must see . We took the weekday tour . All staff are highly knowledgeable and friendly. Once the tour is done they teach everyone how to shuck oysters and provide 6 oysters to shuck and eat. We had a lot of fun.
Maryam S — Google review
What a great, educational, delicious trip! We signed up for the 10:00am tour and were directed to park in the front lot by the gentleman at the main gate. Our guide met us at the hut near the entrance to the footpath, and gave us a brief overview of what to expect, along with access to a large container of spf 50 sun screen, which I highly recommend as the whole 1-hour tour is outdoors. After a short wait, my wife and I and about 8 other participants started on the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and discussed the synergy between the filter feeding bivalves grown at the farm and the nearby water purification plant. There was a section with touch tanks where you get to pick up and hold oysters, mussels, and even tiny baby oysters. A group that was 20 minutes late joined us at this time, and was welcomed but no recap was given. The finally 30 minutes of the experience is spent shucking oysters.I believe the policy is 6 super amazingly fresh oysters per person, but I must've had at least 10 myself. If shucking is not your thing, the guide is happy to help. If oysters are not your thing, you are welcome to try 1 or none before heading back to your vehicle. You will have the opportunity to purchase oysters to take home at the end of the tour. In conclusion, if you've ever wondered how to farm oysters, take this tour an wonder no more. If you are looking for the freshest oysters in town, this is your spot! Just go. It's a blast!
Kyle D — Google review
We did the tour here a couple weeks ago and it was very informative and quite enjoyable to learn about the aqua farm. The history of the site, how oysters are farmed and lots of fascination hands on information. And oh yeah; there is an amazing tasting at the end of the tour. Returned yesterday to purchase a couple dozen oysters to make at home. Were delicious!

Nestled in the picturesque hills just north of the College Boulevard-El Camino Real intersection, Rancho Carlsbad Golf Course is a delightful 18-hole par-3 public golf course that promises an enjoyable outing for golfers of all skill levels. With its stunning surroundings and proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this course offers a unique blend of challenge and beauty. The layout allows players to complete their game in under three hours, making it perfect for those with busy schedules.
This is a great course to learn to golf, take kids or friends who are new to the activity. It’s low cost, not too challenging, and the people are friendly. It’s very walkable. No dress code, casual culture. It’s a community course, not fancy but an enjoyable round of golf.

Rancho Carlsbad Golf Course is a great par 3 course—perfect for beginners but fun for all skill levels. I was greeted like I was a regular even without a tee time. Berry in the pro shop was super friendly and got us set up with clubs, balls, tees, and drinks. The greens were well maintained, the pace of play was great, and even with some light maintenance on the back nine, it didn’t affect the round. Mimi at checkout was cheerful, friendly and even wished us a great day ahead. I’ll definitely be back to improve on those two 3-putts!

Nice little course. Perfect for working on short irons. $12 Senior rate works for me. Staff is very friendly. Lots of youth players and kick golf, so extra diligence is required. It's not as good for working on chipping though, because the greens are just too small, and don't replicate the typical shots you'll have on a big boy course.

This annual burst of color occurs from early March to early May and attracts visitors from around the world. The ranch offers wagon rides through the colorful fields and a maze for exploration. Additionally, it hosts various festivals throughout the blooming season and features a garden, nursery, and gift shop for visitors to enjoy.

I paid $36.28 for tickets and we went opening day, my birthday, March 1. While the gardens were pretty and filled with photo opportunities but I was extremely disappointed in the fields themselves. I now understand they bloom best late March/April but I really felt opening day was hyped up by the emails I constantly received. There was food and drinks available for purchase but since it was their first day they didn’t have all the menus options which was also disappointing as this wasn’t stated before my purchase. My toddler had fun stamping his passport and playing at the cute playground. Downsides, it was all sand so my toddler wanted his shoes off, however, the structures are wood so I was afraid of splinters in his feet. I think I would’ve enjoyed this more at a later date.

It was beautiful and everyone working there was really nice. I went by myself but so many guests were really nice and helped me take photos. The staff held on to my luggage while I roamed around the ranch and not that I was worried but everything was there when I got back. This is not a like normal service. They were just so kind. The blooms were amazing, I loved the butterfly garden, but I wished it was butterfly season.

Their halloween pumpkin patch during the day was lame. we went up as 2 adults looking for a little fun. We even asked ticket lady what the $15 covered and if this was suitable for adults and she said yes , but there was little nothing to do except the tricycle track , a few flowers, no food trucks open, and the corn maze of this costing additional ten dollars each , in addition to the fifteen it cost to come in for i'm not sure what. Waste of $30. Perhaps it's more enjoyable at night, on weekends or when kids

The freeway is typically packed if you're coming from the Los Angeles area so make sure to go way before your appointed time! We were only 15 minutes late but as long as you had a ticket they allowed you in thankfully! The place is massive! So many beautiful flowers! Both ranunculus, stock and sunflowers too! I had a wonderful massage by Elaine while visiting San Diego! She thoughtfully asked all the right questions to ensure the massage met my needs and was focused entirely on my comfort, while also making sure I was hydrated and warm enough throughout. Elaine even demonstrated helpful stretches I could practice at home, which is perfect since I work at a desk all day. Afterwards, she provided extra water and a little snack, which was such a thoughtful touch. I’m a working musician, and while setting up for a recent gig at the Coyote Bar in Carlsbad, my microphone stand broke. Fortunately, Carlsbad Village Music was just steps away. I hustled over and found Jared at his usual spot behind the guitar tech bench. The moment I told him about my situation, he dropped what he was doing, gave me his full attention, and quickly searched for what I needed. Not only did he find the perfect stand, but he also gave me an incredible price, double-checked that I had everything (even asking if I needed a mic clip), and got me out the door in record time—just in time to finish setting up before my show. Barcio Eat Mexican is a classic mexican restaurant with delicious food. It has a nice patio and the staff is welcoming. The food definitely stands out and is some of the best in Carlsbad.
Great service, great food. Smaller dining area with mixed tables and some bar seating. Wide variety of offerings available including kid and dog menu! Try the fried avocado taco, Al pastor, carnitas, tostada, salsa flight. Several margarita styles to choose from; we went with the mezcal. Street parking.

Love this place. Been here for years and has a new owner with great staff and service. The chef really knows his craft.

OK everyone the 4.2 raring on this place is super unfair based on long ago service issues. For us it’s about chips, salsa and margaritas- all excellent! I had the margarita with grapefruit liqueur and soda. Omg delicious! We had the vegetarian spinach and cheese quesadilla and my husband had a shrimp taco and a carnitas taco - both excellent. Our server Miranda - excellent and a riot. The bathrooms clean with great Mexican tile. Highly recommend!! If you live in Vista, shockingly the desert of Mexican food, go there!! Really

Fun tequila bar a couple blocks from the beach. Stopped in for a tequila or two on the the way to dinner. Sat at the outdoor bar and got some terrific service from a gal who knows her stuff. Will try dinner there next time, looks pretty good!

We were on a vacation trip and decided to try this place based on the reviews and the fact that we were craving Mexican food. My wife had the cheese enchiladas and I had the carne asada casa burrito. Both were wonderful choices and probably the best Mexican food we have had in the past 20 years or so. The service was unremarkable but not too bad. The food more than made up for the lackluster service by being so flavorful and having good portions. This is definitely going on our list for future vacation trips in the area.

We came here for lunch. The special was chicken plate. It was delicious. One order feed 2.... 1/2 chicken with rice, beans and pico de gallo with guacamole and cream. Delicious. The salsa was really good too. We did not drink but it was only $22.00 because we order 3 extra tortillas. Unbelieveble good.

Came here for some cocktails, and was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice grouping of mezcal cocktails, which is my favorite liquor, they are yummy. I had the Lolita, santeria, kaleesi and a nectarine margarita, all super yummy. (The one with the tamarindo candy is the Santeria and my favorite) I also had 3 tacos, 1 vegetarian which had tempura battered avocado with a jicama slaw, cannot recommend enough and 2 carnitas tacos, also delicious. The staff are great and take care of you, outdoor seating has heating lamps and they clean each table as soon as a patron leaves. Definitely recommend, support local

We found this place just walking by, and decided to stop in to try one of the many tequilas. There are more than 100 tequilas, and what's especially unique is they offer half pours of several! We sat at the outside portion of the bar and service was prompt. Looking over a food menu, we saw that Barrio offers a dog menu, which we loved, so we decided to return for brunch the next morning. We brought our dog back for brunch, and were immediately won over by the chips and salsa. They are house/scratch made and sooo good! Our margarita and sangria were great also, and we were happy with the huevos rancheros and quesadilla. This place is pretty small and really cute, and we will definitely be back! Although we didn't get to try them on this visit, the happy hour specials and tequila tastings sound fantastic.
