Quite huge. I got there around 3pm on the Sunday afternoon. There are a lot of stalls but I found the variety on offer similar. Lots of antiques, lots of clothes, lots of cheap items that will break after a month or 2 after you buy them. As a tourist , there is some tourist stuff there that would be cheap to find. The food area is quite eclectic and there is a wide variety of if eat type of meals. There are tables to eat at as well. It is okay for a lacy Sunday once in a few months but typical of other markets around the world.

Big and busy market. It is situated at Rosebank Mall, easy access from Bath avenue. I actually thought it was all about food but then I realised that there is almost everything: food, cosmetics, ornaments, clothing and many other things and services.

Returned after a long time and it has expanded, a great variety of thrift stalls, streetfood from different cultures, and overall a good market to walk through on a Sunday mid-mirbing and afternoon

This Sunday Market is a great summer activity for locals and tourists. You’ll find beautiful african artifacts and gifts, whilst also meeting local artists and vendors. From food, clothes, jewelry, books and many more. Walking around is a great afternoon activity, would definitely recommend!

Best Market Ever. Diverse options for food. We had lamb curry with rice and naan, chicken and pork bao buns and beef tacos. Followed by some Taiwanese desert which was cool, a chocolate tart and coffee. Saw some amazing plants at one stall but eish we parked far so skipped that. Definitely get some butter in a bottle at the deli section. Come hungry. Come prepared. Mentally and financially 🤣

Bring your pets and bring your personality, and come hungry so many amazing food stall. There is something for everyone I will definitely be back.

Linden market is by far one of the best markets in joburg! So lively, full of smiles and so much to choose from. This year was special as it was their 10th year anniversary. My mom and I found this food stall that was buffet European style? I wish I remember the name but they had the biggest spanakopitas I’ve ever seen and so incredibly delicious, we got the original spinach & feta then a halloumi one! They were so yum. For something to drink we found a fresh juice stand which I loved, by far the best juice I’ve had!!! Besides food, there was lots of stalls to look at, I got the cutest cap that says be kind & permanent bracelets which was so cool. This day was so much fun & they live up to their high standards. I highly recommend anyone to come here with family & friends.

sunny saturday, ☀️ shopping all the craft shops, doggie moms welcome & food stalls get busy so get there early too. Parking attendants stationed near the school entrance. Tickets to the market can be booked online or cash at the door for R50 (we paid cash but didn’t get a physical ticket as proof of payment) 🧾. At 4:30pm the Linden market closed - & then only the hailstorm hit ⛈ looks like the organizers timed the weather perfectly 👌 👏

This market no longer operates

I went there before it was the Playground, when it was Neighbourgoods and I prefer it before but location is good, it’s nice and clean. There are limited food stalls and the vibe is a bit different post pandemic. Seating at as a hard to find but the live music makes up for it. I love the bar upstairs but the lines do get a little bit long and it may be a while before you’re served- the drinks were good but a bit overpriced.

What an amazing place. A stop of the Red Bus Tour in Johannesburg. There is an amazing vibe and energy to this place that had greater support before the covid years. I really hope more people support this place in the coming future. Many different types of food and drinks to try. A very small market for non food items. We had a very delicious bunny chow.

A great place to have a good time with your friends and family, or meet new and interesting people. The food, drink, and craft markets + bar are the backbone, and the seating areas, views, live music, and art are the heart of the experience.

A beautiful space in Braamfontein. A perfect way to spend a Saturday morning - if you prefer a more relaxed start to your Saturday would highly recommend popping in! There is no energy like this city!!

The old favorite lives on! After a Covid-Era hiatus, I was pleased to find this venue alive and cooking. Great stop over for good strong personality - developing cofee and a wide array of sweet treats to accompany. Plenty of widely varied food stalls and an art market upstairs. Plenty of seating in the food area and upper entertainment area, all perfect for people watching. Greatly improved balcony seating area upstairs which is obscured from the rest of the bar and entertainment area. Ideal for adults looking for good food, chilled vibes, music and an array of alcoholic beverages. Not kiddie friendly despite the painting classes on the 1st level.

Haven't been here since pre-COVID but the vibe is better than ever. Mornings are great to visit with the family and afternoons are more upbeat. DJ upstairs was awesome. Great range of food downstairs but the winer has to Ghostwings. My friend likes heat and I love flavour but we were both really happy with the wings. Bone-in or bone-out something for everyone. They also deliver in the Sandton area so work lunches sorted 👌

We went to the Bobby Nsenga experience event. The event organizers we amazing, very catering to my disability, as the place is not so wheelchair friendly. They upgraded my friend and I to the VIP section, where we met and greeted Bobby Nsenga. The venue is spacious. Bathrooms are not wheelchair friendly. There are stairs to the bathroom.

I like this place, you get to socialize, meet new people, many stalls ,nature, restaurants and a bar. There is so much tranquility if you need peace aswell.

Delightful, peaceful and beatiful, another world here in the city heart of Johannesburg. Suprise yourself, come and melt away in a cheesy pizza right from the pizza oven and great tasting coffee at the Foalks. This staff are super friendly and the best coffe around. The carrot cake is super moist, delicious and very affordable. We almost missed out on the coffee due to the gin lady that said there is a private party and did not say to us the coffee shop is open. Luckily I said we actually went there for coffee. Driving all the way from Pta .

Creative precinct that feels grounded, not staged. We went on an open-studios day and wandered between artists’ spaces, urban gardens, and small food spots. People are friendly and keen to talk about their work. It’s not a mall—come to browse, chat, and discover. Check event days for the best energy. We left with bread, a print, and a lighter mood.

Went for a friend's birthday. Had no idea this magical place existed. Loved the music, the people, the vibe. Absolutely enjoyed my time there. Had some dim sum from one of the stalls😍🔥 perfection on a plate. My favourite was the fish and chips❤️😭 would definitely go back again and would recommend it. 10/10

We were there for an art show. It is not situated in the best place and you will be right next to Hillbrow, but once you are in there it is very different from the surrounding areas. There are many small shops with different items to buy or activities to do. A few coffee shops and food shops. It is well maintained and the people there are very nice. A great place to go, when they host events it is even better and very lively.

The venue has many shops and studios on-site selling artworks and artisinal handcrafted goods. Well worth a visit if you'd like to support local South African artistic talent. Parking is safe and mostly under roof. The venue itself is safe and lovely for leisurely strolls through the unique water features, vegetable and herb gardens.

This was a TOTAL waste of trip. There is NO food market. The navigation directs you to The Pirates Club. I tried calling the number listed and it only rings. Dont know if anyone else actually found the foodmarket. Wait there was a guy on a table selling a few fruits and veggies but that was it.

We booked for a stall at pirates club a week ago what a disgusting rude organizer she had nothing nice to say about what we did we were doing waffles and popcorn and had pamphlets advertising pastry cases she went mad and said they have margarine in them and un healthy dont tell me oeopke with cupcakes dont use margarine and the curry people cook there samoosas in oil the we booked with her for Sat at northcliff club we asked if we could bring sweets for children including our waffles and popcorn and ice lollies and we had a few pkts of Simba chipschips she went ballistic in front of all the other store people screamed at us we can't sell those picked it up and said do u know what's in these chips and was shouting at us I tried to take it out of her hand and then she threw it down we were so embarrassed and didn't know what to do she actually could of just come quietly and said we cant sell them and we would of understood and put them away she then walked away so we decided to pack up and leave we were so humiliated she diet come back to see us she just ignored us and was talking about us to another stall owner when she saw me she left the room we payed for the stall she didn't offer a refund she is the rudest person I have ever met I really don't know how she can a run a narmet with that attitude maybe with the other people she is fine by for two weekends in a row she was so rude with us and actually shouting something should be done with her Ingrid u are a disgusting person and i will take this further and further this is Carol typing this I am lost for words to describe u rude rude rude oh but u are so healthy conscious that u walk around the FOOD market with a cigarette in your mouth and the photos and stalls u have on your website are totally false not half of them are there where's the famous oysters u are a joke

Small friendly market on every saturday. Breads,crepes,crafts,condiments...etc

First time visiting and loved the variety and foods. Bought all sorts of useful stuff and tried as many different tastes as possible before I nearly burst! It was busy, so parking was a challenge, but people are in and out regularly so just requires some patience. Some stalls sold out quickly so don't wait til later, get it when you see it! Will definitely be back for more!

Thai embassy hosted a Thai food festival. Food was absolutely delicious. Many different Thai dishes were available. The market has great food and a lot of amazing handmade craft items available. Park is spacious and a great atmosphere. Foodies paradise.

Love this market! Half of it is a delicious assortment of baked goods, a variety of cuisines, and fresh beverages - the other half are talented artisans that use a variety of mediums from paint to beading, leatherwork to metalwork, jewelry and clothing. There's something for everyone, and lots of tables to sit and enjoy the atmosphere!

Love going here every Saturday morning for our weekly food shopping. Go get some Taco's at Hola Honduras, spoil yourself you deserve it!

If you have been a regular supporter of the Hazel Food Market then you might agree that it's not like it use to be. It's still a great Saturday morning outing with the family including the fur family members are also welcome. Food stalls are the main attraction, although there's a wide variety of different products and craft stalls in between. The layout is what puts me off. There is ample security watched parking available. Not wheelchair friendly. Highly recommend visiting them next time you are in the area.

Exciting diversity for food, everything smelled and looked incredible. It's not as big as the Pretoria Boeremark, and with fewer stalls for fresh produce (though they still have). Excellent craftmanship for leather, wood- and metal-working. Also it's open later than some other markets, so you don't need to sacrifice any z's.

I have had the luck to enjoy for the first time Ethiopian food in this restaurant, and it was incredible. Homemade with fresh organic products and with heart, I felt the authentic taste of the Ethiopian cuisine. The stews are deliciously flavourful. The coffee was also great. One of these gems that talk to your soul.

Little Addis Cafe 🇪🇹 was my first introduction to delicious Ethiopian cuisine. The food is simply delicious and served very quickly. I had the vegan Beyaynetu sharing plate which was a half portion. Their portions sizes are very generous, even a half portion can feed two people, it costs R110 and is 100% worth it. You get a tray with yummy injera and 10 different dishes to pair it with. From yummy chickpeas, potatoes and lentils, to cabbage, spinach and a slightly spicy tomatoe. By the way, their menu is more than just a menu, it’s full of interesting information related to Ethiopian cuisine and culture and it’s the first time I’ve actually read a menu like I’m reading an informative book. Definitely try some coffee as well while you’re here, Ethiopians after all are known for their coffee 👍🏽👍🏽 Service was quick and very friendly. If you’ve ever wanted to try Ethiopian food I highly recommend this location 👍🏽👍🏽

I’ve been to this little hidden gem several times and each time , it never disappoints. Their food is so consistent , so filling, so flavorful. My partner and I had the beyaynetu and doro wet to share and wow, rolling out of there would’ve been an understatement . Perfectly spiced paired with a soft injera. Will always be back for more !

Absolutely Devine. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I love that there is so much to enjoy on a plate and everything is delicious. I also had their Ethiopian spiced tea which I loved. If you're a coffee fan, you have to try the coffee. They also sell it for R90 a bag.

I attended a birthday party with my son. My first time here. Never realized the amount of activities that's available. Especially the Acrobranch section with numerous zipline activities. My son definitely enjoyed the activities.Restaurant and decor are beautiful. I was super impressed too here about the mountain bike trail. See you next time.

The Main reason my guest-friend and I visited: her last morning, before flying back the evening, after 2+ weeks business-trip in South Africa. Her annually gift and African place mats, cloths, mugs, souvenir shopping. As her hostess, landlady, she spoiled me with amazing gifts, from avos, chilli sauces, olives, artichokes from the Olive Lady, an artistic addition to my health kitchen corner : grating plate - so much to do - (name on bottom of the plate): I use it every single day, grinding my fresh ginger, garlic, carrot, nuts, lemon orange peel, for home made salad dressings, and sauces. I love the vibe. She came all the way from Czechoslovakia, to show me the Irene village market 😎 (I was not here, but at Ludwig roses, longgg ago.) When lunch time came. The Vegetarian Food for me was easy to find, not in wrap, but plated, next to the Olive Ladies stall... (from carnivor keto to under supervision wellness eating plan) it was Great fresh food💞 Steak roll for her, and beer. She loved it. Wine tasting, few bottles were 'exported' that day, as gifts 😁🍷 Love love Love the bench we ate at, shared with a Mom and her young children, (all cyclists) while they were sipping on what looked like bubble tea 😍 introducing ourselves to each other, and Mom explained to the children that shown interest.. where on the map 'this happy, friendly lady, with accent, is from. Her husband and their eldest son arrived from cycling... We just finished our meals, and made space for this beautiful Family meetup outing. Stopped at Ludwig Rose's on our way out... I was blessed with another gift, Iceberg standard (deep purple wine colour) to plant in my 'being created herb garden' Such a fun and memory making day, under the plenty trees, in nature, and under sunny African Sky. Wow!! What a great experience!! Red barn restaurant, acrobranch, ziplining, little bmx course,mountain biking and then the flea market! My absolute favourite was Ouma Bets Gebak!! Trust me it is absolutely worth every penny!! The smoke food truck was delicious! The amount of vendors was impressive! The Hungarian spice guy has really delicious spices and cheese and sausages!! Dogs are allowed. They are available first and last Saturday of the month! The guy singing was brilliant!! This was the best market I have been to in a long time!!

This is one of the markets that is a must go visit. There are a lot of activities for young and old. The restaurant is also a place to visit. Take the whole family and have an absolutely blast of a time. You will not regret it.

Shop 037 has no set price , and is very rude and so not qualified for the job when she does not even know what a NACON RIG headset is and she told us that the headsets we were looking to buy there was R500 , when we went there today the price was suddenly R1000 ,nevermind the fact that she is so rude and on her phone the entire time even when we were talking to her she only left the phone when we said we want to buy the headsets she did not greet or say hallo even ,then proceeded to refuse her shop number or business card when she got arrogant and stubborn when we told her that she cant just tell people diffrent prices i would not recommend this shop and ontop of that you only get 10 days warranty what type of place is this , I AM SO NOT IMPRESSED AND WILL NEVER SUPPORT OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE , IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD QUALITY EQUIPMENT OR SERVICES THIS PLACE ABSOLUTELY SUCKS AT CLIENT SERVICE AND HAVE A TERRIBLE ATTITUDE

I enjoyed the food on offer. The samoosas was great. Bit busy for my liking but again that is what the aim is of a market. Sunday live entertainment was great. Enjoyed the chairs ever got to sit on. Good security present.

Was looking for a portable radio. As i was walking through the alleys, a gentlemen was sitting on a plastic chair in the middle of the isle and when i passed him, he asked me what i am looking for. The parking lot is neat and clean with plenty of parking. Entrance fee is affordable for all facets of people in the society. The stalls are typical Somali / Friendo's type of items that are sold in their stores all over South Africa. The stalls are terribly repetitive. The same articles over and over to the point of boredom. The food stalls are disappointing. There is a nice playground for small children, but there is no supervision and bigger children take over from time to time and can hurt smaller children. The playground is in the centre with lots off shaded seating and nice music from musicians. It was a nice pastime, but won't visit it a second time.

This place Is always buzzing and literally anything you can think of is available here at great prices. It has a warehouse meets playground design which I love and even has n dedicated area for live artist performances. Parking is ample and is never an issue to navigate

Please clean the children's play area and the equipment. Bathrooms are in excellent condition

Lots of different shops, you will most probably find what you are looking for...from beauty, toys, crafts, clothing to car accessories and everything in between. Clean bathrooms and places to get food and drinks. Play area for kids as well as an area with lots of tables and chairs to sit. Music shows happening on weekends.

Whats Quackin at Sylvia's Market Sylvias sunday market is a sweet little open-air market located in Observatory, Johannesburg. There is a wide range of stalls; selling things from secondhand books, rich cheese and nerdy fandom items to original designed clothing and interesting crockery. There are also many mouth watering foodtruck options, including Indian cuisine and summery cocktails. when I visited this month, I was blessed to be there for the live performances by Creative Gatherings. whoes array of talented musical artists was pulled together by Moshe Singer Music. The intention of creative gatherings is to be a platform for musicians and audiences to come together, collaborate and show off their skills, and they really did! The musicians' beautiful sounds really completes the festive market atmosphere! For the kids (and kids at heart) there is also a petting zoo! goats! bunnies! ducks! It's too cool. This was my favourite part, as I got to hang out with my feathery brothers... though they were not as impressed by me as I was by them :/ totally would recommend this place as a hangout spot! For families, friends, couples, travellers. Quack you later x

Great little market lots of variety in the stalls. Main reason for going was to take grandkids to view the classic car show. Was worth it.

It's a good pop up market location with lots of products to buy from. They have stopped that R20 entrance fee that put people off. So I urge all to visit like you used to and go with friends to enjoy the food, drinks, organic skin care products, african fabrics, kids play area and more every week.

Very nice and relaxing environment for the whole family. Awesome place to support entrepreneurs and talented individuals as well. My 5 year old enjoyed the little farm there ( rabbits, pigs, chickens and goats )

It's a spot for a family I particularly loved Shorts Biscuits very popular with the kids. Lots of food and a place where children can interact with the animals.

The same as most outdoor markets in JHB. Nice to get out and let the kids run around.

The market was great and the food too. Lovely outing for the whole family. Only issue is when exiting there’s no proper coordination of cars driving out therefore there is unnecessary traffic. We left around 21:30 so to try not get caught in the rush traffic. It took a whole hour to enable us to drive out of the parking and the security that helped us park when we arrived were no where to be found at the exit to help cars drive out in a coordinated manner.

DO NOT TAKE KIDS HERE!!! The market has a lovely atmosphere, bustling with a huge variety of food stalls and interesting vendors. However, the UNREGULATED SMOKING EVERYWHERE, including vendors smoking in their stalls, is unacceptable. It’s shocking that some reviewers consider this a family-friendly environment. Don’t they realize the harmful effects of secondhand smoke on children? The law in South Africa prohibits smoking in public places, especially where people gather closely, which should include markets like this. Under the Tobacco Products Control Act, smoking is banned in public areas. The market’s environment makes it unpleasant to browse merchandise, and we ended up missing out on several stalls, as well as leaving early, because of the smoke. Our whole family left with sore throats after our visit. Additionally, the queues for the toilets are ridiculous, often taking 30-40 minutes, so make sure to take kids to the restroom before you go and avoid giving them anything to drink. Overall, while the market has potential, the lack of enforcement regarding smoking regulations makes it hard to recommend, especially for families with young children.

Ordered from them on Friday night, and I got my order by 4pm the next day. All my fruits were fresh and tasty. Their service is great and keep consistent communication with you throughout your order. Highly recommended them especially because it's quite affordable 😉

I've been ordering from Mbewu for a year now, and I love their fast and friendly service. Their fresh fruits and vegetables are affordable, and I'm happy they now offer non-perishables. The Moringa pasta and Sea moss gel are fantastic additions.

You will never go wrong with them . From orders being delivered/collection within a day to their fruit & Veg being so fresh... Oh and the shop is very convenient/central and very clean... They've earned a lifetime customer from me...

I've ordered a few times now, and the fruits and veges are always super fresh. Also very affordable compared to what I usually pay at the bigger supermarkets. Definitely recommend.

Some great local souvenirs here. The markets in the basement below are great and prices are negotiable . Don't buy the first thing you see as many of the stalls sell similar or identical items. Some sellers can be a bit intense in encouraging you to purchase, but most are super friendly.

I only removed one star because when you go to the basement it can be super overwhelming when they greet you and try to draw you in. When one person is doing this it’s okay but when 5-6 people are doing this, it’s overwhelming. They also try to pressure you into buying asap. Never buy on the first stall… I really asked around for prices and the prices of the same items kept going up. For example the 35 Rand keychains went to 45, 50, 65… then maybe on the 6th stall the man asked me how much I wanted to pay and I said 30 each and he said okay. I also got some beautiful white and gold bead necklaces 250 and 350 Rand after I negotiated. Very happy! I posted the calling card of the stall. They also have beautiful Ostrich egg lamps and some solid brass jewelry.

Really fun market with lots of unique crafts and souvenirs. Cheaper than the shops in Sandton or the airport, but need to bargain a bit sometimes. Some stalls add a fee for card payments, so better to bring cash.

Yike!! This place has a lot of souvenirs and things handmade. When you walk in things are calm and relaxed. Once you go downstairs: BEWARE!! The vendors downstairs can be a little overwhelming. They swarm you and push their items at you, they yell from across the plaza for you to come and see what they have. They will literally come to another persons area and try to coax you to their area. I understand they all want a sale, but Jeeze Louise!! If you're looking for handmade arts and crafts and even the typical keychain and magnet souvenirs, this is the place. Negotiable prices, and if one tent doesn't have it the next will. Use cash only and don't let them see you pull out a lot of cash.

Bought some nice pieces here , a wrap around dresses and some souvenirs. Great prices and the staff in each stores was really helpful. They would really dig into their stocks so you can get a perfect size. Just a tip, the dresses are also sold inside the mall at higher price like one wrap around skirt is R1450 , in the African Arts and crafts , it was only R650, same quality and design. I think the difference would be that the other store is inside the air-conditioned space, but both places are good. It really depends on how you spend your money, and supporting both stores is just fine. 😊

Great concentration of crafts in one place: beadwork, textiles, carvings, and plenty of stand-out pieces amid the usual souvenirs. Vendors were friendly and open to reasonable bargaining without the hard sell. Perfect to pair with Rosebank Mall/Keyes Art Mile. Take your time, look for quality, and you’ll leave with something worth keeping. We did.

Nice relaxed walk on a functioning farm. See the cows, chickens and ducks. 2 restaurants on site. A deli to purchase milk, yogurt, pies, ice cream and much more. Beautiful gardens to relax in under the trees. They just planted over 100 rose busses so excited to see them all in flower. Kids play areas

I really enjoyed the Sunday hangout, good tasted good and though it was packed, the waitress tried by all means to reach out to us. The facilities are perfect for a Sunday brunch with family and the kids.

We spend the day at Irene farm. Very beautiful and great for the kids to see how a dairy farm works. All was fine till we went to THE BARN. Not really anything to get excited about. Food was tasty but took long. Staff not in a hurry. Our waitress Nocisebo looks upset to assist,rolling her eyes if asked we something and really not in a hurry to be helpfull.I must mention we where quite a big table. Some burgers where half dressed with garnish as if they could not care and just wanted to get rid of us. Great atmosphere but not worth the time to eat at the BARN if staff don't care. The main shop is great and made the day a better experience.

What a delightful market with a choice of lebanese, Indian, Thai food plus salads, sandwiches, coffee and fresh juice. There are art and crafts shops as well as a nursery. The market is all under shade with lots of communal tables, it has a very nice atmosphere.

We went on a Saturday and ended up staying much longer than planned. Live music drifting between stalls, fresh bread smells, and makers who actually want to chat about their craft. We grazed our way through breakfast—coffee, a fresh juice, then something sweet—and picked up flowers and pantry bits on the way out. It feels friendly and relaxed, the kind of morning that resets your week.

It's a cute little market. Small and intimate. They have some really nice things. The pizza from Cammys really isn't the best. Def wont order it again. The base is too thin, and you can't actually eat it because it ends up breaking and falling apart. Was such a mess but tasted nice. Went for the Tango dance lessons. Really nice vibe and safe too. Market established 1976. Events being organized. Last night was a chocolate cake cook off. Some nice stalls. I didn't find the stalls selling food outstanding. I was looking for something different but disappointing.

Always enjoy attending this market, the stall owners are friendly and the food/service is great. Meeras is a favourite for vegetarian dishes and some wholesome chai.

The Service from waiters are incredible water is given on arrival and constant check ups The food is good and loads of compliments on poached eggs There was soft music playing and inside and outside seating also allowing pets

I especially liked the outdoor seating with the beautiful views. The music wasn't too loud. The waiter was friendly and the food was delicious. I also went into the market and it has lots of variety. A pleasant surprise was that they have both an organic and conventional side for the fresh produce.

Variety of healthy foods. Good for breakfast and lunch. Would not recommend having anything with chicken, often flavourless. Stick to the vegetarian type dishes. Atmosphere outside is great. Prices are mid range. Very limited on desserts. Have to go in store to buy something to have at your table.

Service on par. Food is amazingly fresh. Menu is enticing, not your ordinary restaurant type food, very innovative with flavors and food combos. A must try for the healthy eating folk. Needs a bit more variety on the alcohol drinks selection. Pricing is above average. Overall was a great experience.

My husband and I absolutely love this market. Awesome fresh produce and other health items. The restaurant is quite nice with a great out door sitting area for summer. They have a wide selection of different food, from vegan, to burgers, and it’s free range meat. Great for the family and a Sunday morning chill.

Absolutely a beautiful space to mingle and socialise. The one thing that stood out for me was that their cocktails were really good 10/10.Their bathrooms were clean. Live performances 10/10 too! The downside about the event is that it is actually not child friendly there’s a lot of alcohol consumption and people smoking hubbly. Most of the things being sold are overpriced including food & drinks! If you’re a lover of anything artsy you will definitely enjoy it. Review based on the event that took place 06 August 2022.

Wonderful space. An oasis in the middle of a busy town. Its surprisingly spacious, with a stalls area where live bands perform, an outside area where kids can also play, as well as a beer hall where you can watch sports if you want. The free parking was a plus. The only thing I'd like to see is more beer variety. There were no craft beers or taps, just a few mainstream beers and ciders. Overall I'd recommend it. Will be going back again.

Market @ the sheds is one of the sought after markets located in the Pretoria's central business district, in the heart of Pretoria. All sorts of items are sold ranging from beauty products, accessories & jewellery, clothing, food & beverages and a whole lot more. There's a live band playing music. The place is buzzing with people from all South African races. It's a melting pot of traditional and modern culture, it's the essence of South Africa. It's the first liveliest market I've ever been to which I attend every end of the month. The dates are announced on their website. Because there's entertainment, there's an entrance fee after a certain time of the day. The market is between 11am to 6pm. There's secured parking available with a boom gate and a security. There's also a ramp access for those using a wheel chair.

A kaleidoscope of art music fashion in the Pretoria CBD! I think this is an impressive revival of the downtown art and music scene. Was truly an amazing experience!! A good variety of food. A very diverse market place where you can find different items of clothing. They also sell exotic food. You can even find food from Taiwan there. Sometimes there is a main even where an artist goes on stage to perform during the market hours. You can bring your own hubbly there to smoke. The entrance fee is R50.

Saw 'Pieces of Me' in a small intimate venue located on 2nd floor. Felt clean and seats were comfortable. No reserved seating (first-come first-seated).

The usual parking was not available as it was being prepared for an Absa event which takes place this week. It seems there wasn't a lot of alternative parking prepared as the streets close to the Market Theater were packed with cars. It'll be ideal for more parking to be arranged the next time the open parking lot is used for other events. The overall atmosphere was however pleasant.

Fancy a night out? The Market Theatre is the gem of Newtown. Its the heart of live entertainment from Theatre shows, exhibitions and concerts...oh it also has an acting,scriptwriting,directing and photography school. There's a bar inside and serves coffee. So much cultural legacy

We grabbed tickets same day and still got great seats; sound and sightlines were spot on. Before and after the show, Newtown works for a wander—public art, the square, and a couple of reliable cafés. Go a bit early to park and stroll; it turns a show into a night out.

The theater is nice and intimate. They don't provide seat nrs so it's a free for all which can prove quite chaotic. They have a bar that sells drinks and some snacks. You're also able to buy tickets on site.

So sad to see the decline. Very few stalls occupied and not many people around; hoping it will pick up with warmer weather. Great place to get home-baked bread and wonderful cheeses, local honey, and an excellent selection of organic vegetables and dairy products. Sunshine Sally is the life of the market! Do stop for something for the garden and enjoy her wit and vivacity!

A lot of small shops with clothes, shoes, bags, art, toys, and food. Sniper and Cotton Road products are among the shops to be found there! Really enjoyed walking between the shops. There is also a Tattoo parlor and "something" for the stress (edibles)

I love this market. Something for everyone from clothing to makeup, handbags to fiod and drink. A must stop if you are in the area!!!!

Very nice open air Sunday market with food, clothes and craft vendors. Food on Upperdeck is delicious as well. Nice band playing Afrikaan rock, 2 playgrounds for the kids, delicious mini donuts.

I was a little shocked when I visited one of my favorite places in the CBD of Johannesburg for lunch, most of the food stalls were empty, and by empty I mean that there were no vendors selling food, which was in stark contrast to the last time I was here, where the whole warehouse was full of vendors selling food, from Belgium waffles to burgers. Now I am standing here looking at the warehouse and if is almost empty, luckily there was a food vendor way back in the corner by the name of the Braai Guru, ordered for myself a braai platter for 2, and I must say it was delicious, prices were reasonable. So I made some inquiries about why the place was so empty and the people blamed the new management. Still, a lovely place to chill on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon with friends and family and maybe if we can get the foot traffic back there, maybe the food vendors might return.

Excellent market. Take the Lead pet food and treats has a stall there every first Saturday of the month with an amazing selection of species appropriate (raw) food and treats plus toys, natural supplements and a chemical free shampoo. Everything you could possibly need to keep your pets healthy

Friendly busy atmosphere. We love the pap en kaaiings and Klein Willempie se melkos. If you would like to make packing lunchboxes easy and healthy, stop by at Margaux se health stall for a variety of bars seeded, nuts, etc.

Definitely worth a visit or two, or three LOL!! Good, fresh produce at excellent prices. The vibe was great, with an abundant places to eat and test your tastebuds. Went there on a Saturday, and my kids loved every moment of it . The place is chilled and laid back . I arrived just in time for happy hour 😂😂 love the bar area . They have really clean toilets . Amazing kids play area . Nice food stalls, very affordable . We got some sculptures and painted them , my kids enjoyed them . No outside food allowed There’s like a hiking or walking trail Dogs are allowed ( the board outside says on a leash but some people didn’t bother to put their dogs on a leash ). The place is wheelchair friendly . Can’t wait to go back

Love this place! A decent sized farm village with a few shops: thrifting, pancakes, books, food and a playground for kids. There is also an outside bar with ample seating that overlooks a large patch of grass and a river. Perfect for a chilled afternoon.

Live music was very entertaining. The food they offered was delicious; the price also wasn't bad. I've tried different food stalls and haven't experienced any disappointment. A cool spot for hangouts on the weekends! And the scenery was beautiful. An ideal place to unwind yourself from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I must say… I did not expect this… A few friends were visiting, and per one of their requests, they wanted to visit the Busstop7 market. Busstop7 is way out on the R50 towards Delmas. I have visited most of the markets in the Pretoria area, and I did not expect this. It was busy for a Sunday. I noticed a large number of cars in the parking area, and as I made my way towards the entrance, I could see that it was buzzing with people. The entrance was R25 per person. You can expect to see rows of stalls with a variety of goodies for sale. It serves as a marketplace for entrepreneurs and craftsmen to display their talents and promote their goods. Goods vary in price from R50 to way over R1000+, depending on what you are looking at. They also offer a variety of food stalls, catering to all palates with something to suit every taste. We enjoyed nachos accompanied by craft bubbly and mini doughnuts for dessert, all while listening to live entertainment. Expect to pay between R150 and R200 per person for food and drinks. The venue is child and pet-friendly. I can't think of anything negative about the venue. Consider arriving early to secure a shaded, seated spot. We had to wait for others to finish and move on before we could secure a shaded spot, which was time-consuming and inconvenient. It’s as if there are way more people than shaded seating areas. I’m not sure if this is the norm or if it's because of the live entertainment and the busier nature of the event. Otherwise, it's an awesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Honestly... this market is a bit over hyped. There are nice stalls and yummy things to buy but all the vendors want you to buy from them or look at their stalls. I would say this is good for a one time only visit. Won't go regularly.

Great venue to get out for a change. Super relaxed vibe. Live music with gin bars and beer in tap. Lots of food stalls and loads of stalls with home enterprise items as well as your usuals. Definitely worth a visit for getting out the rat race

I've been at this market a couple of times since they first opened. It's got a good variation of stalls. Nice restaurant stalls with different types of cuisines. They sell alcohol, live music entertainment, family friendly area with different activities to keep the young ones busy. A glimpse of the kind of stores there is; Clothe (not just your average clothes. They have a cool Bohemian stall) Children stalls, good quality leather stalls, pet shops, nice variation of accessories, etc.

This place is honestly just marvelous. I must have driven past this place a million times and I've seen the sign but always given it a pass due to how worn and unimpressive their outward presence is. However, about 2 months ago a friend brought me here for a milkshake. He used to frequent here before moving overseas and wanted to see how it was doing. Our milkshakes were so good I decided I'd come back and today was that day. Everyone's at work/school so it's nice and quiet. It yet again did not disappoint. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially if you opt for the outdoor seating. It's child and pet friendly which I feel is just phenomenal. You have to love a place that respects nature rather than moves it out the way! The wait staff are INCREDIBLE, they don't bother you or neglect you which is such a fine line to balance, almost like an art they've perfected. There's a TV for watching whatever game is taking place on any particular day I presume and an interesting mix of music plays, catering to most, without being obnoxiously loud which is refreshing. I arrived just as loadshedding hit and so my waitress (Mona Lisa - her name is almost as enchanting as she is) offered salad as an alternative but surprised me with the chefs miracle of what must have been the most perfectly prepared chips I've had in a LONG time (no condiments required). My sourdough bread with chicken and mozzarella was just the perfect combination of everything without being too much. If you, like me, have ever given this place a skip coz it doesn't look like much, perhaps give it a chance. It's one of those gems you wish you knew existed and now hopefully you do!

Sunday market, roast at R150 per plate, pub with a pool table, live music, entertainment for the children with jungle gyms and trampolines and worth mentioning again that they're pet friendly too. Friendly staff, the establishment is clean, its os nice and busy. The bar area is awesome and the besy of all is that it is PET FRIENDLY...they even have a pet menu. A must visit.

First time at Country Pub and what a fantastic afternoon. We were served by Mbali, and just WOW, what an absolute breathe of fresh air. She not only entertained us with her infectious personality but advised on the best options; both meals and beverages. An absolute pleasure, and great asset to your team. Lovely outdoors place and good service plus can take the doggies there. Just not great haloumi and jalapeño poppers. Went for Mothers Day brunch with my son the past Sunday, and it was fabulous 👌. They made all Mom's feel extra special with a cocktail and a heart biscuit.

We had the absolutely best day out at the Country Pub for my birthday today! We booked for 20 people and they seated us out at the boma which was lovely! We could move between our table and the boma and once they lit the bonfire we could all just chill and hang out. The food was awesome and our waiter Brian was brilliant! Stopped by for a beer and some food earlier this evening. It was 19:45 and the waiter advised that he needed to confirm whether the kitchen was still open. He then confirmed that the kitchen had closed but pizzas were still being served. It would help if kitchen opening hours could be clearly communicated or displayed for patrons to be aware of, prior to visiting.

I absolutely love this place. It is my destination anytime I need to do flower decorations for events or buying flowers as a gift for any occasion. Of the variety of shops I have received great service from Ansen Flowers. I love the art they put into flowers. My bouquets are always phenomenal and out of this world👌🏽

The Flower Center which is situated on the left side 1st shop when you enter. This is one of the best shops to buy any type of flowers that we want. The prices are cheap and the customer service is outstanding. They do catering deco and flowers deco also.

Love going to Multiflora, some of the flowers shops are friendlier and more inviting. Most of the shops don't display prices so you have to constantly ask for prices - which seems to annoy the staff. I do know flower prices fluctuate daily, but if getting asked annoys you, it's best to display the prices daily. Rivaldo at Rams were really helpful today

Took the family for a fun day. Nothing has changed since my last visit more than 10 years ago. The highlight of the day is the Military 🪖 show, the soldiers were excellent in their display 👏. The prices were very high, from food to ice cream 🍦nothing was reasonable, they were charging double the price.

We went to the show on Saturday morning. It was lively and busy and got even busier as the day progressed. Entrance fees were already kind of steep, but the surprise came when basically everything else required extra ticket fees. The dinosaur exhibition was ridiculously priced at R100.00 per ticket for each of the four sections. If you wanted to view the smaller dinos and the TWO big ones outside, it would cost you R200.00pp for a mere 5 minute walkthrough. Absolutely ridiculous. The market was really terrible as there’s about a handful of stalls repeated throughout the whole show and exhibitors are in your face the entire time. The military exhibition was definitely a family favourite. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the machines and bombs and guns. Was great to see. It was a morning out with the kids, so I can’t say it wasn’t wel spent, but next time I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

It was amazing, good food, rides, live music, shopping and many more. Best family outing, very kid friendly and safe. I look forward to next year again.

An absolute rip-off if you're going for the rides. Great food but pricey, water unaffordable. The inner mall has a down-town Joburg feel to it.

A relaxed market with live music and a great variety of vendors offering delicious food. Welcoming for all ages and pets, with ample parking and seating. Bring a sun hat, sunscreen, and a blanket if you plan to sit and enjoy the music. Expect to spend around R300 per person for a meal and a non-alcoholic drink. Worth a visit!

Great location and plenty of parking, but there were very few stalls. It's a fun day out for the kids, though, lots for them to see and do.

Decided to grab a bite to eat after my hiking trail at the Dam. Bought a burrito at the tortillas stall (2 x R140) and 2 fresh squeezed juices (2 x R70). The value for money at this place is shockingly bad. The burritos were tasteless with no sides and the juices were overpriced for what is a 500ml cup. For a total of R420 I could have gone to a restaurant and had a good meal rather than the substandard overpriced tasteless food that I EXPERIENCED at this place. In future, it will be for the trail and nothing else. The problem in this day in age is that everyone wants to get rich over night.

What a lovely venue for a farmers/craft Market. Set in the banks of a beautiful lake with lots of space to enjoy with the family and dogs. Can totally make a day of it with a great meal from one of the food vendors and spend time checking out all the interesting craft goods on sale. Market happens last Saturday of every month and is well worth the visit!

Security needs to tighten up towards the evening. They allow people to bring their own alcohol and drink in the parking lot clearly intoxicated and unruly. Clear disregard for rules of the road and walk anywhere. It moves from family friendly to uncivilised very quickly.

I spent heritage day weekend at the farmers market. It was crazy hot but I still had fun. I ate at 2 places but I highly recommend Che Argentines stall. The Mexican food was a let down. It looked beautiful but didn't actually take good. They had live performances so it was nice to sit on the grass and just listen to and sing along to live music. I'd definitely go again,

Wide variety of food-stalls available with varying price ranges, so the experience definitely delivers for the snack-curious! The live music was lovely later on in the evening and the cherry on top was being able to take our doggos along. Would recommend the the drinks-tent and showing up no earlier than 15h30 for the sake of the sun, as there is no shaded seating available. There is a lot of seating though!

Great people, phenomenonal music, amazing food, fantastic lemon & cucumber G&T's and all round good vibes. Definitely going to be swinging by this one again 👍

To little stalls to shop and food very overpriced for portions received. The vibe is good but the bands that provide the music hasn't got the ability to electrify the vibe. Must say that I was there for only a sort period of time but nothing there could persuade me to stay the night out.

A great experience. Not sure what it closes so early by 15h00 everyone was packing up but still a great day out. Just very dusty guess it's winter..but other than that plenty of food and drinks available and good local vendors. A great day out for the family. We attended the Field Market for the first time. It was a lovely experience, and I was thoroughly impressed. The event was exceptionally well organized, with ample parking available for visitors. There were numerous stalls offering a variety of products. Also an array of delicious food options and drink stalls. One of the highlights was that the market was dog-friendly, even had water bowls scattered throughout for our furry friends. Limited seating was available, I would recommend bringing a blanket or chairs. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

I attended the Field Market yesterday. It was the Christmas market and the last for the year. It was so lovely. I was very impressed. It had plenty of parking. Very well organised. Lots of stalls to buy some Christmas presents. So many delicious food stalls to choose from and lovely drink stalls. The market is dog friendly with water bowls all around. The art displays are an awesome idea. There is seating but a good idea to take your own blanket to sit on and enjoy the live music. Overall an excellent experience. Will definitely be back next year!

One of the best markets in Joburg, thoughtfully put together with a wide variety of stores. Free entry, if you park in a designated parking lot you pay R10 for parking. Peaceful live music, that's not to much with everyone chatting away. Plentiful play grounds and places to sit so a perfect outing for the whole family.

Wonderful way to spend a few hours under the energising joburg sky. Great drinks, array of good food trucks, talented musicians, crafts, safe space for kids and pets. My favourite- the margarita slush puppy - absolutely made my day.

It is a fun place to visit with the kids there are slides there is a rollercoaster,it is advisable to wear shoes when walking on the tar pathway because it tends to be very hot.But other than that it is a great place to go for hot day and u need to cool down

It was really nice and pleasant, just that the toilets are far from the swimming pool and if you walk bare feet your feet burn on the tar, not nice shade when you have to braai. Pay more for my son but he couldn't ride on all the rides, so don't really know why must a child tickets be more but still have to pay for some of the rides. Toilets was clean and neat.

Had to pay to take in your own cooldrinks, R20 a 2 litre, had to pay for cooler boxes a ridiculous amount of money the facilities are bad, the staff working there are rude. Will not recommend that place to any one, I enjoyed myself more at Buksies. That owner need to re-think his people skills and the service he gives people.

They don't clean their pools they just add chlorine ,the water is even brown,I got chemically burnt by their pool,my throat is extremely sore and they don't clean the pool they just add strong chemicals

Has four pools, which gives you a variety. There are food stools, refreshments, swings to keep the little one busy, a trampoline and pool slides. Your kids will definitely love and enjoy the Waterpark.

If you are into healthy food, organic veggies, herbs and skin products this is a best place to be. We went on a Thursday with my friend but I think it's open twice a week including Saturdays. I found organic Kim Chi here which I wad struggling to get. We had a tasty lunch at the cafe inside the market.

Lovely and lively market, open on Thursdays and Saturdays. There are small artisanal shops, some fresh produce, cheeses, breads. The best part for me is the food! We ate Mysore and masala dosas, both of which were delicious!

Such a lovely market. The entertainment was outstanding ( young lady, didn't get her name, but her cover of 'Take on me' gave me goosies). The food was devine! It was just too busy for us with a toddler running around like a hooligan. There were too many kids on the jumping castles and they should perhaps split it with an allocated area for the kids under 6 years old. Having a 3 year old tumbling around with a bunch of much older kids is an accident waiting to happen. Perhaps also reserve the tables by the kiddies area for families with kids- this will help a lot. Lovely evening out, just not with little kids.

Market was good but staff was rude and used to be able to take dogs with now you not allowed and they were rude about that

What used to be a fun family night out has now turned into an actual dog show. Drunk teenagers everywhere, no control over the cars flying in and out of Old Bens and people drinking out of their cars and causing chaos. The organizers need to take full responsibility for this. YOU NEED TO CONTROL YOU EVENT!

Forget the Market !! Go somewhere else rather, this market with their new location is 100% not worth your time due to parking and security.

I was looking forward to this, but was disappointed at how small it was. You can start & finish within 15 minutes. A couple of a nice little displays. Stalls offering bolting, organic foods, cheeses, chocolates, honey, etc P.S. Make sure you don’t eat before as many offer a taster

Very nice small market, especially created for banting products. You will find products like bread, pizza Pies, Cheese. To take home and eat on-site.

What a lovely market! Our friends recommend it. We visited it for the first time today. The vendors were very friendly and passionate about their products. We tried the waffles, and the bacon and haloumi kebabs. There is a coffee stand. We were delighted to find a few tables and chairs where we could listen to live music. Consequently there was a book launch as well with a little competition to win a book. We will definitely return. It takes place on the 1st Saturday of every month. You will need cash at some of the stalls.

This is the best market!!!! There might not seem like much stalls but every stall had delicious foods! Personally the dessert stalls, I had cake and doughnuts from two, and they were a bit of a miss, but you can't go wrong with the food. There was also live entertainment from a lovely girl, and the vibe was great. Ate so much and the prices are decent if you go as a group and share!

Back2Balance has a stall on the last Sunday of the month. We love the vibe, the friendliness, the music and enjoy the day.

Very disappointed by this year's Liggiefees. Basically no lights. Just food stalls. No where to sit even. Very overwhelming and crowded. Wish it was still at the children's home.
