Very popular with the breakfast and lunch crowd with a very comfy, cozy atmosphere thanks to the blankets and heaters provided in the winter months. We rolled in after a chilly morning spent at the WITS Parkrun and were grateful for the brisk service of getting our hot drinks and food. The breakfast menu is great and well portioned.

Friendly staff and great food and coffee. Sat by the fire and enjoyed a breakfast here. The cafe is in a small shopping enclave.

Cafe Salvation at 44 Stanley is a great Cafe with good food, top service and beautiful ambience. We had egg shashuka and vegan shashuka with fresh fruit juices which were so delicious and enjoyable.

What a great experience! The food was incredible, and the staff were attentive. The cheesecake truly was divine and lived up to the hype.

I personally had the Breakfast Nachos, and the kitchen had one thing to get right on my plate. Hot scrambled eggs! They were ice cold. It was incredibly disappointing. The hot chocolate was decadent. Their milk alternative brand is Milk Lab = WIN. The service was rather average. Coffees and hot chocolate's arrived hot, but no check-in after the food was delivered. The brownie was not served warm and I just don't understand that. If it was warm it would probably have been the perfect ooey-gooey consistency. The cheesecake was good, it didn't even need the berries on the side. The carrot pineapple slice was dense, moist and a generous portion. When an establishment has a decent rating, you generally have certain expectations and this visit was a let down.

The food here is very tasty and definitely worth trying. The restaurant is usually busy, which shows how popular it is, but service is quick and efficient. The only downside is that the staff tend to rush you to leave once you’re done, which makes the experience feel a bit hurried.

Excellent coffee, fun breakfast menu with many things I would like to try. The home made tomato relish was the standout for my breakfast, but the eggs were also perfectly pushed and the rye was softly toasted, something not many places get right. I would have made it 5 ✨ if it wasn't for the outside staff who failed to guide us, just saying "sit anywhere",, but we were happy that we pushed on, and inside we were welcomed.

This was my first visit to the place, and I loved it. Whether you prefer a nice coffee or a more relaxed drink, you can enjoy it in this cosy atmosphere. You have the option to sit at a spacious indoor table, by the wide-open windows (as I did), or at a terrace table. The staff are friendly, and the establishment is clean. With a film lab nearby, this charming venue will definitely become a regular stop for me in the near future.

Went for my birthday treat. My banana bread was dry and lacked banana. Moms food was good but won't go back in a hurry. Waiters don't even see if all is ok. I had to ask 3 times for a cuppa

A great brunch spot on a Saturday morning. We were seated outside with the sun shining on us with welcoming staff. We had a pleasure having brunch at the Whippet :)

What a wonderfully run establishment. Very rare to find businesses being run personally by the actual owners! But this is what makes this establishment such a huge success! Friendly staff to greet you and make you feel so welcome from the moment you step in! Service was fantastic, where teamwork between waiters ensures that things run smoothly and your every need is attended to. The food…? Fabulous, delicious, well presented and reasonably priced for the level of quality you get. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, my dad had the spinach and feta breakfast quiche (photos below). Eggs were perfectly poached to medium as requested and the English muffins were light and tender. Never took a picture of the coffee, cheesecake or the chocolate pastry I had, but they were all just as delicious as the mains. PS the fact that they are pet friendly was an added bonus!!! Thank you for the best breakfast experience ever! Well done to the entire team!

What's your idea of breakfast? Some eggs, bacon and toast? Nothing mind blowing and hard to mess up. So I hardly ever go out for breakfasts and would rather save my appetite for lunch. But after going to Nice on 4th, your opinion will be forever changed. Never have I ever been so impressed by a breakfast before. We were warmly greeted on this chilly morning and seated inside the restaurant quite fast. The place was quite packed to begin with. We had some mimosas and milkshakes for drinks. Thereafter followed by our breakfast which consisted of the 2 half and half's. One was the egg and crumpet basket and the other the salmon and crumpet. The savory, sweet and saltiness danced on my palate and sang all the right notes for this symphony of flavour in my mouth. It was just so different from the conventional breakfasts I am used to and pleasantly surprising. Also to mention was the freshly baked croissant that we enjoyed which was light and flaky. The service was fantastic and I didn't have much to complain about. Would I return? Without hesitation!

'A brunch without mimosas is like a day with no fun' what a catchy phrase. This restaurant is quiet the gem. The food was delicious, will be returning to try out note dishes. Super friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant setup has its own identity, very fun.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is lovely. I had a relaxed and comfortable time there. If you like scones, you should definitely try them—they’re really big and fresh. The strawberry bacon pancake felt unusual at first, but it was tastier than I expected. I also tried the egg cup, and like some other reviews mentioned, the bread was a bit disappointing, but the filling and sauce inside were perfect.

Their cappuccino is amazing, and the cakes and breakfast options are absolutely mouth-watering. I've never had a crumpet before but Nice has become my go-to breakfast place whenever I'm staying in the area! What a delicious combination of flavours! The atmosphere is very chill and the staff are super friendly.

It was my first time here & the service was great, there’s so many waiters ready to assist. The vibe is a bit groove & chilled vibes, almost everyone had hubbly on their table. The food was too good.

Reservations were made, and luckily so as it was extremely busy. We sat in the courtyard and it was extremely noisy due to the large groups in attendance. Service was, prompt, tentative and friendly. Food was average. Rather pricey for portion sizes. Sourdough toast was hard (as if it was toasted twice)but we were given fresh toast when we asked.The vegetarians were happy as they had options to choose from. Parking is in the street so can be difficult to find.

Arbour Café and Courtyard is an absolute gem! The food is absolutely delicious — a solid 10/10. Every dish is crafted with care and bursting with flavour. Manager was friendly and smiling. Courtyard is a little bit cramped for the number of tables they have and cater for. Food was quite good and flavourful. I had the grilled rib eye strip baguette. Service is somewhat slow and could be improved. Not a bad experience if you don't mind waiting, but you could get better service elsewhere.

We stopped by for breakfast and the restaurant was very quiet, almost empty. The menu felt a bit limited for someone who doesn’t eat beef or pork, so I went with the ratatouille. It was decent but nothing special. The dirty chai, however, was really good and the highlight of my visit. Service was quite slow, which didn’t make sense given how unusually quiet the restaurant was at the time. Overall, a lovely space with a calm atmosphere, but the food options could be more inclusive and service more attentive.

Love this place but ordered a slice of my favorite carrot cake on uber eats and it was half the size i usually get. Very disappointing for R125

Is always a great place to relax and have a mimosa , my son and I had lovely meal and drinks , it’s very crowded though , however it’s always easy to get a table … My last visit there was unfortunate as I was charged for drinks that I didn’t order , and wasn’t served… Will return though however it’s very important to always check your bill !

We went in for breakfast on Saturday morning. The restaurant was fairly empty but did start to fill up. We ordered 2 dirty chais but the waitor only placed one order so we had to wait while they made the other drink. For breakfast, I eggs Benedict with a side of chicken breast. The food was tasty and there was a generous helping of hollandaise sauce. The wilted spinach was not to my liking but this would be personal preference. The decor and food were nice but the service let them down.

Lovely menu, could be a little expensive for some people,but it's Hyde Park. Service was good and food was prepared and presented as requested. Portion sizes could have been a little bit bigger. Lebo serviced us alright.

Le Parc by Tashas at Hyde Park combines a beautiful setting with a Parisian feel. The menu is inventive, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are warm and welcoming. And if you wonder what a salmon trout is – it’s rainbow trout, with a look similar to salmon.

Chicken schnitzel sandwich was stodgy and drowned in saucy salad. Hot dog sausage was fine. Roll and onion rings were stale. Service was excellent. Nearly R500 bill for 2 sandwiches and water.

Have only just discovered Glenda’s in Hyde Square! Fabulous atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food . I had the banting eggs benedict & green juice, both of which were delicious! My friend had a toasted cheese which also looked delicious. I won’t even get started on the cakes …! Yum!

Dinner date with May. First visit for both of us. Beautifully decorated restaurant with colorful walls curated cleverly with flowery wallpaper in certain areas. The staff was very friendly and on top of their duties all evening, serving with a smile and knowledge of the menu. We were surprised with cheese puffs( on the house) to kick off the evening. We enjoyed our evening, and the food was good and portions generous.

This place is beautiful, the ambiance and also the food was so tasty. The owner, Glenda, is a beautiful person. The staff was super friendly and their service was out of this world. I had a hot salmon salad and I thoroughly enjoyed it, let me not forget the reasonable prices of food and drinks. Location is perfect if you are look for a serene and easy to access place.

Glenda’s is my go-to local where I take people that I like! I am never disappointed by the eclectic and colorful furnishing or the warm “come in, sit down and get a load off” greeting or the always excellently prepared food and libations on offer. When Claudia flies from the USA to visit, when Mr Jane needs an oasis to fuel his creative spirit, or when I simply need a friendly place for a get-it-off-your-chest chat with Pinky, then Glenda’s is a no-Brainer. Nhlanhla will remember your favourite drinks and preferred dishes and Baba always has time to check on your wellbeing. Service is slick and the specials board a lovely surprise, usually of seafood in season. The preparation of the sea bass is sublime and the mussels in wine so very fresh and more-ish. Sunday lunches are reminiscent of childhood with roast chicken, crispy pork belly, a glass of bubbly and the ring of warm laughter. Talking about bubbly, you can order by the glass! Good wine by the glass? Definitely. Not forgetting the cocktails and Glenda’s special margarita. Yes! But be warned, it has a kick like a mule. Cakes are an interestingly diverse selection. The petit fours are divine, and the pastry chef knows her choux from her short. All kinds of brownies and sometimes fruit bread too depending on availability. Try them all!

The reason they lose 2 stars is due to the service received. It was a quiet morning and the welcome was pleasant, however the waitress who eventually served us was not up to standard. She was very robot like not showing any emotion whatsoever. When we asked her to return to take our orders, she took forever and had to keep on trying to get her attention. Eventually when she came we placed orders and I was very clear on the type of eggs I wanted. The wait time was a bit long I felt and eventually when the food came, my eggs were opposite to what I wanted. I asked for Sunnyside up eggs but I got over easy. The waitress was careless in serving me what I didn't want and only after explaining to her what she should have done in the first place, she offered to remake , but i didn't want to wait another 10 minutes so just ate them as it came. My wife on the other hand enjoyed her meal so as for the quality of food, comfort of the restaurant, ambiance, and decor, this rating should have been 5 star.

I always Glenda’s tricky. It’s always a mixed experience. Lovely setting but poor service especially when you sit outside. I always expect a premium experience but basic expectations aren’t met like prompt service or frequent check-ins. The food was decent. The fish cake was delicious. And the pancakes afterwards was lovely. The asparagus, eggs and truffle was just okay. But sitting outside in the sun and people watching is always welcome. Slowing down the pace of life just a few meters from a fast paced Jan Smuts Avenue.

Been wanting to try this place for about 3 years. My thoughts as follows:: What a charming little bakery, early morning sun peeping through the large windows makes for a delightful atmosphere. Other than the locals that quickly stop here for an early morning take-away coffee and pastry, so be there early to ensure you don't loose out; there is a wonderful, quiet indoor seating area for a sit-down meal too. My ratings on the baked goods:: Baguette - 10/10 (better than Woolies) Custard puff - 10/10 (my favourite) Almond Croissant - 10/10 nice surprise to have marzipan in the middle. Ham & Cheese Croissant- 10/10 (needs to be warmed up a little at home though) Pan au raisin - 9.5/10 Peach Danish - 9/10 (The large peach is quite daunting to eat. Perhaps one could find a way to thinly slice the peach, lay across the danish and use blow torch to caramelize?) Cheese Croissant - 9/10 (just warm up at home) Chocolate Croissant - 8.5/10 (more of a Nutella tasting chocolate inside, which is nice, other than the "traditional") Plain Butter Croissant - 7.5/10 (fresh and decent size, but lacked the buttery flavour and flaky/laminated/airy pastry. Texture was more like a roll) Pain au chocolat - 6/10 (pretty dry and lacked flavour) Prices are reasonable.

Needed a cake fix. Popped down to Mackay Street In Blairgowrie for a take out this morning. Tastebud explosion - yowzer - yet to find a Lemon Meringue better than Paul’s from Patisserie de Paris. And the portion was huge! Blueberry Cheesecake also excellent. Did I mention the croissants - ‘demolished’ before taking a photo 😋 - yowzer (again) #supportlocalbusiness

I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family with an appetite for European food. The unique decor gives the place a friendly, French ambience. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was served simply, but appetisingly and creatively. I loved the beautifully, neat cursive in which the menu was written on a large blackboard. The only unfortunate experience was the waiter forgot to bring cold milk for my husband's coffee on both occasions. However, he was quick to bring it when reminded to do so. The service was good considering the restaurant was busy due to it being Mother's Day.

Went out to enjoy a pre valentines breakfast with a French style. So I was not as too impressed but it was nice-ich morning out. The music was a bit morbid, and my croque monsieur was not as nice as I would have hoped, too rich and heavy. My wife, however, did enjoy the quiche and the cute bowls of salad and chips. For R50, she had a full meal. Their bakery was small, but it looked so yummy. The Chocolate Croissants was extremely yummy.

A slice of Paris in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. Patisserie de Paris as the name suggests is a Pastry Shop/Bakery in Blairgowrie. The establishment is in a residential area and from the decor looks to be a bit dated which adds to the charm of the place. The bakery has pink walls with some graffiti pointing to days and memories of sitting under an umbrella sipping coffee and enjoying a Croissant while watching people in Paris. The bakery offers a range of baked goods including cakes, croissants, tarts, rolls etc. I saw the establishment is very popular for breakfast with patrons enjoying beautifully plated food. I was also impressed by the number of people dropping by to pick up their daily bread and other baked goods. The gig workers from Uber and Mr D were also making multiple rounds of the establishment. It’s impossible to try all the baked goods on offer so tried a few including their croissants and a pain au raisin and a peach tart. Everything was superb in my opinion. Service was friendly and food came out quick. If you’re sitting inside they also have a book shelf to enjoy a book while waiting for your food. The bakery is licensed and offers a selection of alcoholic drinks. On Sundays they offer bottomless mimosas for R 175. They also have a small pop up at Bryanston Organic Market on Saturday and Thursday with a limited selection of their baked goods. Parking on the street is free but a little limited. Highly recommended for a visit or two to savour their baked goods

Consistently good food. Everything on the menu is well thought out and always seems to be freshly made. Coffee is also great. Service is consistently good as well. Probably been there at least 5 times this year alone. Worth ordering from the specials board because you can sometimes find really unique dishes.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with family for mom's birthday. Jay our server was fantastic... the Food... WOW everyone enjoyed... from Fillet Wraps, .meatball sandwich, chicken skewers, beef burger, haloumi salad, chicken bowl and Mediterranean chicken... every meal was beautifully prepared and presented as a fresh art piece... thank you. Will do this more often.

Always delicios breakfast. My favourite being the hot corn stack. Freshly squeezed orange juice however should be served withput ice or atleast ask if we want ice in the fruit juice. Service is good. Ample parking. Wheelchair accessible.

Cafe Billibi is always exceptional! I'd been craving a really delicious steak, and they didnt disappoint with this perfectly cooked ribeye steak and creamy peppercorn sauce, on a bed of crisp, pan fried vegetables and smashed potatoes. You really hit it out the ballpark with this one!! The staff are amazing, the atmosphere is stunning, and overall it's always a wonderful experience!! ❤️

This venue is conveniently situated in Greenstone Park, which forms part of the Greenstone business hub, eadily accessibile from major roures such as the R25 and N3. Parking is plentiful and free (!!!). Being in a strip mall, there is not much atmosphere, but the venue is spacious and airy. Prices are reasonable and the menu is quite diverse. I enjoy a good toasted sandwich, and the chicken mayo did not disappoint. This venue is great for casual business meetings ir breakfast or lunch with friends. Highly recommended.

The place first of all is refreshing, very clean and breath taking. The food was very nice, would definitely call again. I had went there to try new meal and wooooooow no regrets at all. The staff was great and kindly. I really had a great late breakfast date with my husband.

It may be true that some of the best places are found by accident. Went there for breakfast. Was fairly busy for a weekday morning. Atmosphere is great as it is a small cafe that looks and feels like a small cafe. The staff are amazing, friendly, attentive and don't overdo or underdo their service. The coffee was good but the part that makes me give it 5 stars is the food. We ordered the hot cake breakfast and the salmon sandwich. Both made amazingly well. Fantastic flavours and presentation fit for a more expensive place. Everything was so well made. Definitely a must go spot.

Hired the cafe for an event and the staff was wonderful. Efficient! Friendly. Very professional and communicative. They willingly changed the entire arrangement on the day and the set up plus cleanup after was fantastically fast. Enjoyed the service of the space, including sound, catering, extra space made available for a creative corner. And the sunny, cosy feel of the venue is a great perk. They don't have parking but provide guards. Lovely experience overall.

Very lovely coffee shop, has both inside outdoor seating, minimalistic design, and a feel-good vibe. What topped my experience was the coffee art! Made it look spectacular 🙌 the 2 ladies one a the batista and the othe a chef were very friendly and social felt like I belong. Thanks definitely will be a regular here.

A blessed return to coffee shops that have real character - no twee Instagram letterboards in sight. All the plants are real (and the succulents in the courtyard are truly splendid) and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Attended an after hours event here. Overall it wasn't terrible and I'd want to experience normal dining at another time. But the service wasn't that great. And the arrangement wasn't good either since we were holding our bowls of food and glasses and afterwards there wasn't anywhere to put it down on/ waiters walking around to clear. That said their wedges were delicious- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

What a delightful gem to have been introduced to today. Under clear blue winter skies tucked into a corner inside where sun could reach us, we dined on beautifully presented simple fare. I had cold pressed fruit juice and their coffee later. Both wonderful. The food was a sandwich (2 open slices of Rye) topped with avocado and grilled halloumi. They provided home made mayonnaise (delicious - if not as tangy as bought) which I found complemented the accompanying potato wedges as well! To be tucked away in a side street of Brixton, wonderful atmosphere and surroundings, I am definitely back there any time an opportunity arises. I have to say well done! 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻‼😃

Mantis and the team at Breezeblock are phenomenal. I recently held a party at the venue, their warmth and professionalism was above and beyond. From welcome drinks and canapes, to keeping their kitchens open for our guests, the food and drinks were really great. The space was inviting and so many guests complimented the feel of it. I would highly recommend reaching out to this venue to anyone wanting to host an event. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

I ordered the hake. It was covered in thick better. And it tasted like it was boiled for a very long time.Food was surprisingly inexpensive. Waiters took ages to bring condiments. But they were real friendly. It's aesthetically pleasing.

We hosted a close friends birthday here. It was 13 guests. I'm not sure if they've catered for a large group before because there were some issues with our orders (forgetting a drink & meal here and there), however was compensated with how awesome the waiters were they were ready to jump and serve when called. The pizza with avo and beef was very delicious but the chicken wings were a little dry and bland. The ribs were saucy and tender, very delicious and the chips were well prepared. The long island had a good balance too. They moved the furniture around for us, we played games, music was adjusted when we needed to have it adjust. Beautiful experience and lovely atmosphere and beautiful views.

I placed a very specific order which was not served. I sent it back. The meal arrived on a cold plate whuch i sent back again. I do NOT eat cold food. I ordered a regular coffee which was served in a very small cup. I sent it back and it then came in a teacup, not a mug. Absolute rip off. I will not ever eat at Wimpy again. This is not the restaurant I've been eating at for at least 20years.

I have been to this Wimpy many times and for a couple of years. But lately the service is really not good, yesterday I had to ask for a menu, 15 minutes after I sat down, needed to call someone to take my order and lastly had to go to the counter to get the bill. Needless to say, there was no tip while I'm usually generous with tips. I will keep trying as I have had very good service in the past and willing to try again.

Me and my lady friend from work went for milkshakes. We waited a long time to be served. The waiter helped a guy who came after us. The milkshakes didn't look good and also didn't taste good, the sauce were running down the outside of the glass. No saucer, no serviettes. When we had to pay they had no change. Only the manageress were trying to accommodate us. I won't recommend anyone to go there.

Must be THE worst meal I've ever had at any Wimpy. Service was slow, waitress not friendly. Not once asked if meal is ok. Table dirty. Menu left on table. My hamburger was cold, the chips not fully cooked and stale. Sent my chips back with another waiter, as our Waitress was MIA. Lemonade Mango was watery. Plates not cleared. These photos are proof of how terrible our meal at Wimpy, New Redruth went. Will think twice before ever visiting this Wimpy again.

This was our favorite Wimpy. We come from Meyersdal to this Wimpy, but the service is deteriorating heavy. Cold food, cold bacon, no condiments and then when you say something the manager and Priscilla give you an attitude. Yes the store where busy, but still. We waited longer than normal to be served and to get our food. When it eventually came it was cold. I do not recommend this Wimpy anymore.

Been getting take aways from the new redruth wimpy for about a year now, great fresh food.....very impressed. Today ordered and they delivered to me in oakdene. Very professional and quick. Great service. They also make sure I get a barcode to scan for rewards points on my wimpy app. Always smiling and know what I order without me saying anything. Great experience all round.

I’ve always wanted to try this place and it did not disappoint. They have the biggest menu with everything sounding so delightful. This place does specialize in fresh produce with no meat but I love the innovation that replaces not eating meat. I tried their breakfast protein bowl with poached eggs. It was so flavorful, full of protein, healthy fats and carbs. So many different textures and deliciousness! I literally fell in love with fresh earth coming to try their smoothie and doughnut for a quick pick me up fun breakfast. Never in my life have I tried the most special doughnut and what a plus that it has health benefits. The dough was so perfectly soft and chewy and the peanut butter white chocolate icing was so smooth with a crunch and perfectly sweet! Wow wow wow. Their smoothies are also lovely, best peanut butter protein one I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come here again and try more!!

Really great food and the waiters are super friendly and accommodating. I once accidentally left my cellphone in the bathroom and one of the waiters was quick to collect it and keep it for me when I came back for it. Just a really lovely vibe overall. The only thing that has ever dampened my experience here is that twice now I've seen what seems to be the owner come in and cuss out the waitstaff in front of customers. Just a super awkward experience for everyone and seems really unnecessary. Other than that I've never had a bad experience here, and I'd recommend the zuchinni fries as a fun snack any day!

My son and I had the most incredible lunch at Fresh Earth today. We weren't intending to eat there, but as we walked past we were greeted warmly and after a quick glance at the extensive menu we couldn't not give it a go. Our food was absolutely delicious, healthy portion sizes, super tasty, well presented and fresh! Every single meal that came out of the kitchen looked spectacular! It was our first time at Fresh Earth, definitely not our last 🤤 Thank you Milton (our waiter) for the great service too! Can't wait for our next visit!

Food is tasty, and appears to have gotten better. Some interesting combinations, and recent additions to the menu. Can be seen to be on the pricey side which is fine, but sometimes portions are sparse. Particularly something like the toast. One slice is just not enough. The service is not good at all, the numerous times I have been there. No two ways about it. Not just at my table, but with neighbouring patrons can see the lack of interest shown by the waiters, even in the early mornings / beginning of the day. So this is a major development area for them. [update] their service appears to have improved. Not quite there, but strides have been made. Pleasant environment as dogs are also allowed. Can be a bit noisy if it gets full, [update] this is purely from the set up of the establishment and not patrons or staff. Toilet facilities appear to be out of service due to water shortage, but at least have facilities for washing of hands. The empty sanitisers aren’t helping much. Can suggest more tea options, would expect a bit more variety considering the nature of the store. [update] suggestions include mint, ginger and lemon tea. Perhaps even hibiscus. Would be a definite hit.

Fantastic options for those of us with gluten allergies. Come for the best GF Greek cookies in the country coupled with a delicious cup of coffee.

The bottomless buffet is greater value for money,Thank you Fresh Earth. I am however, surprised that the raw honey is served to be spooned out of the gkass bottle, with a metal spoon.... instead of a plastic or wooden utensil. I did request a plastic spoon and was given one, thank you so much

I had a great experience this past weekend at Tashas in Rosebank! The food was delicious - a solid 10/10, the chicken was so crispy and well cooked 👌🏽. The salad was also very fresh. I was really impressed, my friend also enjoyed her toasted sandwich. Definitely worth your money and the service is amazing😍 We will certainly be coming back😊✨

I tried one of their burgers for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, and that meal has stayed on my mind ever since and I can’t wait to go back. However, if you’re visiting Tashas in Rosebank, I’d recommend sitting indoors. The outdoor seating has a bit of a fly issue, which can be uncomfortable. In my case, a bee even landed in my pina colada. Despite this, the overall experience was still great, and the food remains top-notch!🩷

The Bull Run is classed as a New York Steakhouse Restaurant. The vibe definitely fits in with the description. Outside is a life-size brass bull (representing the stock market). Inside has a warm, classy feeling with friendly waitrons. There is a varied cocktail menu. The wait for the main meal wasn't long at all and the food was scrumptiously delicious 😋 . A fairly expensive outing but worthwhile.

What a beautiful restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the service impeccable. I was staying at the hotel and with that ate there two nights in a row. The second night, the waiter welcomed me back and even asked if I wanted to sit where I was the previous day, pointing at my table from the previous night. He wasn’t even my waiter the previous night so the fact that he remembered was quite amazing. They have tables outside on Maude street yet despite how busy the street can be, it still felt secluded and cozy enough. Inside you have beautiful spaces to sit. The one area in particular intrigued me where it looked like the table top was resting on books. Unfortunately there were people seated there so I couldn’t take photos. For my first night I had an amazing strawberry daiquiri and crumbed hot honey chicken with a huge baked potato and sour cream. My second night I had a refreshing Stella and their sundried tomato and butternut risotto with toasted pine nuts. Every bite was a treat. Definitely my go to when I travel again.

If you’re in Sandton and in search of steak perfection, look no further than The Bull Run. Whether it’s rump, rib-eye or a good ol’ fillet, they know how to do meat justice. My friend ordered a steak with pepper sauce on the side and honestly, I had food envy. That was a work of art. But then again, had I not ordered the cheeseburger, we wouldn’t have experienced the absolute Saturday night symphony that it was. Flavour, balance, indulgence and ticks all the boxes. A special shoutout to the bar for whipping up an off-the-menu Old Fashioned, smooth, strong and balanced. It wasn’t just dinner. It was a vibe.

We went in for a chefs table at Level 4. The table was located in the kitchen, which was nice as you got to see how the dinner service was conducted. We had a 9 course dinner which spanned for about 3 hours. We had dietary requirements that the chef accommodated, and it was a deviation from the set menu. The waitors and the staff were very friendly. The food was expertly plated, and the flavors overall were well balanced. The rack of lamb and the fish were my favorite courses. I would definitely be back to try more.

I really have mixed feelings about my experience at the restaurant. We were celebrating a 1 year anniversary, and we were welcomed by a friendly doorman. Immediately the hotel lobby was pleasant. The setting at the restaurant is really classic, and was fitting for the occasion. Our waiter, Patience was really nice and friendly. The issue started with the cocktails. We both ordered the Level Four martini, which is not a martini at all. We then asked for old fashions, and they were really watered down, but better than the martini. I ordered the lamb shoulder and honestly it was a let down. It tasted like my aunt had cooked lamb outside with a three legged pot. There was no flavour, it's as if it was only cooked with water. The mash was basic. Honestly this is a meal anyone can make at their house. My girlfriend ordered the pork belly and it was meh. The presentation was nice though but the pork belly itself was not succulent but rather hard. The relish was flavourful and she enjoyed that more than the actual pork belly. Overall, the atmosphere is really great, the staff is nice. The drinks and food are such a let down. I would not recommend this place for food. Also their menu is really limited, which is okay, but if your menu is gonna have limited options, they better be incredibly delicious.

Very fine environment, classic and classy but a bit on the outdated side. The food was wonderfully presented and the service was nice. Dessert was average which was disappointing since they have a separate dessert menu - I’d set my hopes really high for my favorite course. It’s a beautiful place but it could use some excitement to set itself apart. Overall a lovely meal and a quiet setting.

I was so happy to find Afro-Boer. It is a gem in Pretoria. The slow farm concept, food options and unique twists to each item makes the experience so delightful. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the menu. The peach syrup was so delicious.

Can't complain about the service because there was none. I think in the 2 and a half hours we were there we saw our waiter 3 times. When we finally got our food it was ice cold. My mom had the biltong and brie omelet but it was very small compared to the client behind us. The biltong was hard and the omelet cold. My fianceé and I had the Van braaibroodjie. The chips was delicious as well as the beef filling but everything was cold and the bread was hard. We won't be back.

One of the most delightful places to simply exist as a human being. For those who desire an authentic and down-to-earth Afrikaans experience Afro boer is the place. The delectable cuisine, lively atmosphere, Professional waitress (Grace) absolutely phenomenal. AB offers a refreshing respite from the pretentious and exclusive establishments that we often frequent. I love their merchandise, and I appreciate the occasional opportunity to embrace an uncomplicated existence.

The Fat Zebra is located in 71 7th St, Linden, Randburg, 2195. The desserts were the highlight for me more than the lunch menu. We ordered crème brûlée with a torched crust, cheesecake with caramel popcorn scattered on the plate, pavlova served with strawberries and cream was delectable and the brownies and ice- cream was a hit at our table but unfortunately they ran out and could not serve more than 2 people with this option. We enjoyed complimentary ice- cream for the birthday lady in a pleasant atmosphere.

It's okay, I ordered a Chai latte, very weak and watery. My spoon was dirty and the toilets are disgusting, dirty, no soap and no toilet paper. Music loud so it's hard to actually chat if you are inside. The staff are warm and helpful. Not sure what all the hype is about this spot. Maybe it's the location it's central.

The food at tashas in Bedfordview was fantastic, with flavors that really impressed. However, I was disappointed to find that the pricing didn’t include VAT, which was added afterward. I was also initially told the wrong price, which led to some confusion when the bill arrived. This was a first for me, and it would be helpful if the pricing was more transparent. Aside from that, it was a great dining experience, and I would recommend it for the food quality.

Breakfast at Tashas never disappoints😋 This time I tried not to go for my usuals and I was happy with my decision. The Rosti breakfast hit all the right spots and was the perfect hearty & filling breakfast😋 The chops were also just a great, juicy and flavourful . I was sceptical seeing that it was located at a shopping centre but that later turned out to not be a problem at all

Tasha's is a serene oasis, but be prepared to pay a premium for the ambiance (The Air) as much as the food. Just don't forget to bring plenty of cash 💸 💰 🤑 😅. Food review: poached eggs and spinach was great , however the carrot cake was dense .

Tasha’s is always a 10s across the board for me. The consistency is what will make me choose this restaurant over and over and over again. Breakfast and lunch options are both amazing. The outside area is amazing, the food is fresh, the staff is friendly. For all the years I’ve been going to Tasha’s, every location, they thrive in excellence. The just do it right. Simple, good, quality and consistent food, ALWAYS. Love it!

I recently visited this restaurant and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere is chilled, spacious, and inviting, with a great mix of indoor, outdoor, and even upstairs seating. I had made a reservation just to be safe, and everything went smoothly. The service was very good, our waiter was attentive and friendly. For my meal, I ordered steak with chips, mushroom sauce, and a freshly squeezed juice. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, and the mushroom sauce complemented it really well. The juice was refreshing and felt genuinely fresh. The only part I didn’t enjoy much were the chips, they were a bit too crunchy for my liking but everything else made up for it. Overall, I’m happy with the experience and I’ll definitely return to try more from the menu.

I recently went out to lunch with friends here and really enjoyed my meal. What stood out most was how accommodating the restaurant was. Some of my friends requested custom additions to their dishes, and our waiter (Clayton) handled it all with ease. The atmosphere was lively, though a bit too loud for my liking. It’s most likely because it was month-end, there was a party table behind us, and the restaurant was quite busy, which made it difficult to hear each other at times. Still, the food and service made up for it.

What a horrible experience. We were celebrating my Mom’s birthday and got served rotten meat and fish. Thank goodness I noticed early before I ate. The fish smelled so off. My dad had to compose himself because we didn’t want to ruin my mother’s birthday.

Had a birthday celebration and lunch at The Rock. Great service We booked for 14 and they still accommodated 18. With ease and no fuss. The staff and manager specialize in customer focus and attention. They give 100% attention and focus to each table. It is as if you are the only one serviced. The food is diverse enough and for all ages. We had teenagers to seniors in our table and everyone was satisfied, Two people in our table were unhappy with their orders and the restaurant gladly changed it and made sure they delivered as per what the customer needs. The Lamb at the Restaurant was very tasty. The quality of the food overall is average. The service was Bad. The waiters are not trained, no attention to detail. They are open for change. The Supervisor was apologetic and will address the service issues.

Celebrated a 70th birthday. Food was excellent, although we waited very very long, but then again we were a group of 20. Our server, Thembi, was wonderful! She made sure everyone got their correct order and made sure we were looked after. So much care was taken with the food preparation. Table and setting was beautiful. Lovely gardens. All and all a great place for any occasion.

It is an absolutely beautiful place for any type of meal, being with friends or family. The food is really well priced and the portions were huge. The coffee was hot and really yummy. The menu has so many wonderful options for different types of meals. There is some pathways that the older generation may struggle with as it's a bit rocky. So there weren't very obvious wheelchair accessible entrances. But it is doable. The service was wonderful, kind and attentive, very good timing for food and drinks. However cute the chickens might be, they make an awful lot of noise and when food comes out they swarm underneath the table in large numbers and don't leave until you've finished your meal. It can be especially weird if you are eating one of their chicken options. However it is a beautiful spot surrounded by trees and the sound of birds, with good meal options and there also happens to be a lot of other shops on the premises so lots to do there. Definitely worth checking it out for a nice brunch or breakfast option.

Really nice place under the trees, and pet friendly. There are a lot of chickens around (in case your dog can't handle that). The food is delicious and fairly priced. The inside area is very cosy and beautiful with a little shop with yummy things. Really glad we stopped here for breakfast.

Father Coffee in Rosebank has such a vibe but relaxed feel. The coffee, and the array is just out of this world. With soo many brew options as well, it can leave you a little overwhelmed, but I would have it any other way. And Neo, the Barista? Amazing. Friendly. Knowledgeable.

Honestly the best pour over I’ve had in South Africa to date. Really good coffee and food.

I had a fun time. For a compact space it felt spacious. I like that they have table tennis at their store. It's really refreshing. The play area can be closed to contain the noise. I ordered a flat white, it was made at a suitable temperature, warm enough to drink. The milk used was taste with some sweet nodes to it. A great beverage when starting to take your coffee without sugar. Friendly customer service. They have an innovative means of accessing the menu via QR code on the dinning in tables, although they do have a menu at the counter, which is where you place your order. You order at the counter, and your order is served at your table. Hot and cold beverages are available, breakfast: toasted sandwiches, muesli, yogurt, fruits and etc are sold. It's a great gem.

Spilt Milk is a must-visit spot. The workers are incredibly friendly, which makes for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The meals are amazing and super delicious, with the breakfast waffle being a personal favorite. The backyard sitting area is perfect for friend groups, with its relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seating. It's a great spot for working or studying with fast, unlimited WiFi and charging ports. The cafe is surprisingly quiet, making it a conducive environment for productivity. Overall, Spilt Milk is a great spot for a delicious meal, friendly service, and a peaceful ambiance. I highly recommend it.

Their drinks are really good and affordable. Food was okay. Didn't enjoy the wrap as it kept falling apart and the pineapple salsa didn't taste fresh . My friend enjoyed their avo bagel. Enjoyed the dessert most. We got it on the house as thr waiter forgot to put the order in and we waited a long time. Appreciated the gesture. Great service from the young gentleman.

We were very excited to try out this spot because of the other reviews but we left disappointed. The service was slow despite the place not being very busy, there was no communication from the staff on food delays or substitutions and the food itself was just average. Perhaps the breakfast or dinner slots are a better time to go, lesson learned.

We went on a very quiet Monday afternoon, but the service was incredibly slow. I waited 15 minutes for my order to be taken, and the food took yet another 20-25 minutes. What was confusing is that our food came out at the same time as a couple that had only arrived 10 minutes ago. The food was good, but the patty on my burger was a bit underseasoned - nothing a crack of salt & pepper couldn't fix though. I LOVED the courtyard, very beautiful and rustic setting. Such a cute and awesome little cafe! Not only is the food good, it so is, but the whole atmosphere has this welcoming vibe that's so hard to find these days and the staff have a genuine friendliness that made even this first timer feel welcomed and part of the family! A true gem!

This place serves amazing breakfast and it is really affordable. The service was impeccable, the food was really fresh. Our waiter recommended the sour dough toast and I had never tried it before, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really a great space for group and family outings.

Today was my first time, first viewed on Instagram. It has a vintage appeal, staff with a great sense of humour, I had as a starter a Macadamia Cortado double shot espresso, divine and for mains the Spilt Burger bunless with a side salad. The pictures did not lie the real thing was even better. Centrally situated in Mellville. If you haven't tried, try you must. My experience was okay. Vibe wasn't there and our waitress was a bit slow we had to call her to attend to us all the time. So my first experience wasn't the best but I'm willing to give the place a second chance.

We came here and fortunately it was the 11:11 special where we got burgers and fries for R11 each. The waiters were overwhelmed with orders but we got more than our moneys worth. I was highly disappointed by the manager. We had ordered drinks and burgers and all then at the tail end we asked for tap water . He instructed the waiter to not give us tap water and said if we want water we must buy sparkling or still water. We were appalled by this and then we asked the waiter to please ask the manager to come and kindly explain to us why is it that we cannot be given water after we had spent money on buying drinks and coffee and food thereafter he told the waiter to just send us the water but the manager refused to come to our table

I’ve been to this establishment quite a number of times and the service and food has always been good. Today was so horrible, I ordered buffalo wings and they came dipped and fried in a fish baste. It was horrible. My cousins order was only taken after we had told the waiter we made 2 buffalo wing orders. Funny enough, her wings were basted with a mild spicy paste which I think was correct. So my wings tasted like fish, I even left them there. The drinks took long to come and it wasn’t even that full.

Noma has been the best consistent waitress for as long as I can remember. Every time I visit this place I am never disappointed by her service. I am talking about a service of over 8 years. she remains the same person. I hope this review earns her a promotion. She is indeed an asset to News Cafe Meyersdale

The place is cute and staff is super friendly! The menu is super limited, there is no vegan option unless you insist to change something in the original menu. Restricted mocktail options, too. The view is stunning. If you have any dietary restrictions, eat before going there. It’s a nice place to hang out!

We went to eat out . Great place people friendly environment. Only issue the chips fried in beef tallow . Definitely a no no. Please consider cooking oil as some clients dont consome beef and beef related products . Extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Pablo House has a great location and is beautifully and creatively decorated — a really charming place to stay. The breakfast was excellent, with the best shakshuka I’ve ever had. A couple of small notes: it would be nice to have air conditioning in all rooms, and for the bathroom to have a door to keep the smell contained. We stayed in Room 6, which was lovely but required climbing quite a few stairs with luggage since there’s no elevator. Overall, a very enjoyable stay with fantastic food and atmosphere.

Beautiful views. The service was exceptional. Our starters and mains were very good. Out deserts were disastrous! Our first batch of brownies were burnt to a crisp and still arribed at our table. Our second batch were just short of burnt, so mildly better The bathroom situation isn't great either. The menu is also very overpriced. Overall a rating of 3 is fair based on our experience.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. We went there to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was underwhelming. The food is exorbitantly priced for the quality you receive. We ordered lamb chops, which were unappetising and bland. We ended up wasting a lot of money on food that was far from enjoyable. You can imagine the disappointment in all of this. To make matters worse, the restaurant only has one toilet for all guests, which is quite inconvenient.

Best kept secret in Joburg! Incredible food, friendly and professional staff, unbelievable views and the perfect ambiance. It's always our go to place for a celebratory dinner. Keep it up guys.. we need places like this to stay!

A small coffee shop situated under the large escalators in Sandton City mall. I think it’s quite a nice use of space and has all the cute details associated with the Naked chain. The chai latte I had here was probably the best I’ve had in my life so would definitely recommend. The staff were all very friendly and the manager was making turns checking in on the customers which was appreciated. However it seems like they struggle to cater for the sit down customers and the takeaway customers at the same time as we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our coffee and then again for the bill. I would come again but hope to have some faster service next time.

A quaint little “hideaway” in the middle of the mall. Staff are excellent but the food lets them down. I had an egg sandwich (R75!) on rye and a single solitary slice with a sad solitary wedge of lemon arrived on a plate. The Mayo they used was cheap (Hellmans) and tasted as sad as it looked in the plate. I finished just a bit. The tea was about the only good thing I could mention about the whole dining experience. They could work on that. The vibe is very “Sandton” with lots of loud cellphone chatting about clients, stocks and the like. Overall an ok time was had.

A great coffee shop serving good coffee and food. Located inside the Morningside mall with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are super attentive and efficient ensuring your experience is memorable. For me I love the fresh beautifully presented food not to mention tasty flavorsome. I love the BLT bagel 🥯 for breakfast and have driven to the centre just for it. There are many other breakfast options as well as light meals throughout the day. I is a popular spot so can be busy but we have always found a table.

Went for a quick lunch and got great service from Richard. I was disappointed that the menu item I wanted was out of stock but the alternative that the waiter suggested was okay.

I truly enjoyed Mike’s heritage house. At first I was disappointed by the fact that they don’t serve any Italian food like pasta, pizza and therefore I settled for their Sirloin Steak and it was the best steak I ever tasted, truly enjoyed every bite of it and the veggies were to die for. The service was very efficient from our waitress and I loved the outdoor atmosphere. We finished our day with slap chips and let me tell you this place is called heritage for a reason, they cook everything like they founded those meals therefore making these meals their heritage site to visit I definitely recommend Mike’s heritage.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Mike's Kitchen Heritage House numerous times over the years, and it's always been a treat. The outdoor area is lovely, and the menu selection is diverse and appealing. However, my most recent visit in late December 2024 was somewhat disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being overly busy, as me went after the lunch crowd. The service was slower than usual. My steak was also not prepared as I had requested. I want to emphasise that this experience won't deter me from returning, as I understand that off-days can happen to anyone. I'm sharing this in the spirit of constructive feedback, hoping that it will help Mike's Kitchen Heritage House continue to improve and provide the excellent experience that I've come to expect. I look forward to my next visit!

Waitress was very pleasant. Food came quickly. Some dishes were excellent, others less so. Chicken curry did not taste authentic Indian.

There’s a seat for every mood—quiet nooks and crannies for intimate chats, a lively, festive buzz on Friday afternoons, or relaxed outdoor tables in the garden. We visited on a packed Friday afternoon and were blown away. The food was absolutely excellent, with portions in true American style—generous and satisfying. It’s a meat-lover’s paradise, but my friend’s falafel burger looked divine and was a great vegetarian option. I opted for a classic burger with a hot vegetable side of spinach, butternut, and broccoli—fresh, perfectly cooked, and a nice alternative to chips. Service was impeccable. The maître d’ checked in on us regularly, and the whole team made us feel welcome. Prices are reasonable—around R125 for a burger—and the experience is well worth it. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, and the little touch of a red lollipop at the door when you leave made the whole visit feel that much sweeter. Highly recommended—whether you’re after a hearty meal, a cozy chat, or a Friday vibe, this spot delivers.

The food was great. The place was packed, as it was mothers day, so the service was a bit slow. The staff is super friendly though, I was super late for my reservation but I called before hand and they worked something out. The only thing I would really criticise is their cheesecake, it doesn't taste like cheesecake. I think they make it with sour milk instead of cream cheese, anyway they should really rethink their recipe and ingredients.

At 5am i couldn’t ask for more, it was so warm and cozy inside and the breakfast we had was 10/10. Spring rolls with a saffa twist with bacon, eggs and spinach inside!

Would have given it a solid 5 had it not been for the noise at night despite being in the quieter part of the hotel. Plus my colleague had the unpleasant surprise to have his room opened by supposedly 2 security guards in the middle of the night on the second night of our 1 week stay there. The staff on the other hand were super helpful and nice and words cannot express my gratitude to them. Always ready to help and ensuring that the hotel is super clean. Big thanks to the chef in the restaurant and the omelette lady.

We had a brilliant night in a ground floor junior suite (myself and my 2 teenage children). They kept luggage whilst went off on safari and then came back for 3 nights in a first floor junior suite. Room service toasties and chips excellent. Bull Run restaurant attached was fantastic. Beds were comfy and air conditioning worked really well. Staff were all super helpful

I had a hard time choosing which Protea Marriott to stay in JoBurg. I'm glad I settled on this one due to it's location and amenities. The service was great and friendly, and the Planet Fitness amenity was a nice surprise. The water pressure was phenomenal and the bed linen was perfect. Breakfast buffet was decent, but not amazing. The hotel shuttle to the mall and train station were very convenient.

So the good news: excellent rooms, love the bedding, great TV, and especially nice with a proper separate shower still with a bath. Staff is very friendly. The not so good news: the place is noisy, both from the hallway and in the windows side. Also don’t count on room service. A simple salat will take over 30min midday, but at least they will warn you. And finally, don’t rely on the very spotty internet. I’m writing this from the room using 4G…

I attended a training course here over two days. The place is in a nice setting, access from the street is easy and basement parking offers convenient entry. Staff was friendly and helpful and food was great. The venue was clean and in good condition. Overall a great experience!

What a beautiful setting, couldn't believe that a place like this exists where it does. The setting can be used for date nights or any small functions including wedding. Staff was friendly and food was good.

Tastefully presented dishes with substance. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast of oak smoked salmon benedict and Turkish eggs and ended with a decadent chocolate cake and baklava cheesecake. Despite the usual Saturday morning parkrun rush, service was attentive and food arrived in good time.

We had a Sunday brunch there. What a lovely morning under the trees. It felt like we were in the country at an old manor house. Plus, you get to walk the campus a little if you choose. And if you didn't go to Wits but are older than a certain age, you may even be able to feel like you were walking under the cable car of the Rand Easter show up to watch Gonda Betrix at the grand stand.

Booked the high tea at Olives & Plates Wits Club and it was exceptional. Amazing flower arrangements, table linen and Royal Albert china. The food was expertly crafted works of art. Highly recommend for any celebration or just a high-end treat.

These burgers are the best I've had - the standard beef burger. Let me not waste time saying that! They use fresh ingredients - but it's not bland. The sauce needs to be bottled and sold! Those sweet and savoury chips slap! Have to try other menu items now. Anyway, live the casual vibe here and that you can get anything and if you are dressed up and change your mind you can call for a reservation and head up to Marble restaurant if it's not peak time. Have tried the pastries with a previous visit, wouldn't try again but would eat that burger EVERYTIME I craved a burger. If you struggle to park, go around the block and go down stairs.

It’s a unique garage shop with lots of delicious food, desserts etc. The atmosphere is great and it’s busy. Parking was a bit of challenge to find but it’s on Keyes ave if you can’t find a spot in the garage area. We went during a weekend so with the offices near by, it may be busier during the week.

The world of modern retail is changing as we speak. Decades ago retailers had the power. Today it is consumers who have the power. The power to shop what we like, whenever we like, wherever we like, be it on our couches watching TV! Myself, together with my circle of family and friends visit stores for the experience. Being emotional shoppers, we are navigated by knowledgeable individuals who take the time to build and create deeper connections with us as shoppers. Many people do not realize that by turning customers into local advocates we end up paying more for the exceptional service and seamlessness. I am from Cape Town and visited your Pantry store a few days ago for the very first time. I was approached by Mohamed who im sure could tell by our body language that we were new and didn't know where to begin. He introduced himself as a Manager of the store and for our first time recommended what he called a "holistic Approach" to the store visit. Being an absolute master of the entire product range, right down to the ingredients, he started asking probing questions to enable him to make suitable offerings and recommendations. He started by taking us to the pasty section and gave us each a complimentary Lulu. He advised that this is one of the top iconic items of the store and customers buy these by the dozen. We were taken aback by the light fluffiness and ordered 12 of those. Next he took us to the Marble Foccacia and insisted we dipped it in your in-house lemon garlic butter and olive oil. Mohamed ensured the 2 we took were wrapped up properly in cling wrap. He even advised that because it has been sliced, it can be placed in zip lock bags and will be just as fresh when ready to use kn lightly toasting it. The pistacio croissants were up next and once again He insisted we had one on the house. He promised that these were the tastiest item on that table and truth be told, they really were. We took 6 of them! We asked about one or 2 other items and this is what awed me, Mohamed politely said "Ma'am , I haven't tasted that however I have noticed that customers tend to not purchase it as much or 'i have tired them, however I personally would rather go for something else. Authentic selling is a rare find in retail. And the significance of authentic selling is so underrated. We as customers trust, value and appreciate you more by selling with your heart. Mohamed is one such individual who sells with his heart. Not for any profitable gain, but for the pure enjoyment of the customer looking to be amazed and tantalized. He took us on a story telling of the wood fired pizza from the flour to the milling to the mozzarella and why its the most Italian tasting pizza you will taste in JHB. We were then brought small scoops of your famous Dubai icecream with the sauce which was the highlight of our visit. Mohamed insisted we take home a Tony's Chocolate and Hazelnut bar, of which he gave a money back guarantee , promising it was the best I would have tasted... all the way from Belgium. It was our 2nd visit on a Sunday and it was just as excellent as the first. The drinks come in different colours and taste divine. The waitresses are super friendly and brought our orders quickly. The food was absolutely delicious!! And the decor I'd amazing. We ordered the cookie dough for my granddaughter and she had a blast rolling out the dough and making her own cookies, which were then baked by te kitchen. She had such a good time. Great way to keep kids entertained. Well done owners and staff for running such a gem!

It's an amazing place to meet up with a friend or a bunch of friends. The atmosphere was so chilled. The food is amazing, full of flavor and portions are big. The cakes are divine, and I highly recommend the red velvet cake (it's smooth and delicious). The staff was super friendly. I visited the place during winter. There were outside gas heaters, and pretty blankets were provided. Everything was decorated pink, even the water in the toilet bowl is pink!

This place really has it all... Great food! They especially prepared a tasting platter for me, and every little detail from how the steak was cooked, to how the seafood was grilled, the little condiments and sauces... Always order the sweet ginger chilli sauce with anything you order! The halloumi grilled to perfection, home made hummus and they take the humble chips/fries to the next level! Sounds like pub grub kinda food but there are some more sophisticated dishes too. Trust me it would take a week to eat your way through the menu, but what a week that would be! Great drinks! Ice cold Stella on tap, I also had a Royal standard espresso martini! Yum!! And great service, the team really do care about the product and the experience. Most importantly, the Vibe, if you're up for a bit of a dance, a private dinner or just quiet snacks with a friend, I can highly recommend The Station! Then when I tasted the food, The peppers were off and the chicken strip they changed were so dry. when I told the waiter he just looked at me. I asked for my bill and they had charged me the beef strip instead of the chicken strips like I ordered. I’ve been here before and I’ve never gotten such terrible food and service. Ordered a cappuccino when it can was about 90 degrees hot so complained could not even touch the cup they then brought a Luke warm one. I called the waiter back and asked what now . They took it away so I asked for the bill. Bill came with coffee still on so I ask why the waiter said life is hard and started to laugh . Will never go back disgusting serves.

I have used this place many times before. Their service yesterday was not that impressive, it was sub-standard. Their bank machines did not work at all for whatever reason. I could not use my bank cards to pay my bill. What an annoying and frustrating joke ! We were not told or warned about this prior to ordering our meals and drinks, only told after, to pay with cash which I personally didn't have - when requesting to settle our bill. Fortunately my friend had enough cash on her. What an embarrassing experience. I will not set foot at this eatery. Never again.

Great new-ish hotel in Rosebank. A short walk from the Gautrain, malls and restaurants. Tasteful modern decor, incredibly stylish. Lovely rooftop deck as long as other guests aren't smoking up there - that ruins it 100%. The apartment was spacious and well appointed, although the bathroom lighting was substandard, and the bathroom would benefit from a few more hooks to hang clothing and better shelves for toiletry bags. The walls are bit bare. Some wonderful local art, perhaps from Rosebank Rooftop market, would be a great addition. The service was friendly and helpful. The staff had good energy. But I only found out about the massage/spa services after I left - so they could do more to ensure patrons know what's on offer. Only four stars because there's only one lift and guests cannot use the stairs all the way down to the ground floor. Also only four stars because the food needs work. I had a very lack-lustre burger. But it's Rosebank, with so many food options that one doesn't need to eat at the hotel. I simply mismanaged my time. I will stay here again.

In room no large mirror, sink and shower taps fall apart, lots of chair table moving noise at 6am almost every morning. 2 of my shirts got lost in laundry and all off my Tshirts shrank by 3 down size and as a bonus they wanted me to pay 900ZAR for the service:) How lovely Rooms are not cleaned well. They don’t even put a thrash bag. 1 staff at front desk never smiles, barely answers questions. Good location close distance to a mall, you can casually replace your shrunk clothes there :) Would definitely not recommend.

This was my first visit to South Africa, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Johannesburg. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was seamless—quick, professional, and welcoming. The location is absolutely perfect! It’s right within the city limits, just a short walk to the mall and conveniently close to everything I needed. As a light sleeper, I was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful the surroundings were—no street noise at all, which made my stay even more relaxing. One of the highlights for me was having a Pret A Manger just a few minutes away on foot—such a lovely bonus for daily coffee and quick bites. Breakfast at the hotel was fantastic with a wide variety of options, beautifully presented and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the local rooibos tea—an absolute must-try. Truly a wonderful experience overall. I hope to return soon!

Impressively, my meal arrived within about 10 minutes of placing my order. I chose a delicious chicken prego roll, which had a satisfying blend of flavors that I would rate a 7/10. The roll was perfectly fresh, and the chicken was tender and savory, complemented by a zesty sauce that elevated the dish. I can confidently say that Walnut Grove is a fantastic venue for group breakfasts or leisurely lunches, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Had such a lovely experience here today! My waitress Joana was friendly and attentive, and the manager Brilliant truly lived up to his name. I accidentally left my phone in the bathroom and only realised about 20 minutes later, when I rushed back, Brilliant had kept it safe and even put it on charge for me. So grateful for their honesty and kindness, they saved me from a major panic (and about R15 000!).

I use to love coming here on a Saturday for a mid afternoon coffee whilst shopping at Sandton however the past two visits have been very disappointing. Besides the restaurant not been kept clean (so much “litter” from sugar and sweet wrappers on the floors), the service is below standard with staff reflecting a busy days work with less interest in clients after the lunch rush. Both past meals were average - I don’t believe I’ll be back anytime soon. Management didn’t appear very interested in the feedback offered.

I've been to Walnut four times, and the first three times were great - delicious food, attentive waiters, etc. Except, the last time I was there was a catastrophe. My friend's food and I took so long to arrive and we had no updates whatsoever from the waiter, manager, etc. The wait was so long, at a fancier restaurant we would have been given free drinks or bread, a small plate to eat while waiting. After the long wait, we were told that they got my order wrong and had the redo the whole thing (after we found the waiter after 30 minutes). Really a terrible experience compared to the other times.

Having been here before I knew what to expect, a pleasant experience, which was had. Came on a weekend and the mall was packed but was lucky to find a table for lunch. The entire deco is spot on, love the over hanging lights. The food was exceptional. I must admit, prices where a bit on the higher side but I guess you're paying for great service and food. I'll give them an overall rating of 9/10.

Straight from airport to this restaurant I was tired travelled all night and I just wanted South African warmly welcomed breakfast but to my surprise I guess I was at the wrong place at the wrong time.and it’s my second time but nothing has changed at all. The restaurant was so busy was around 12 am. We were table of 7 people.our waiter was not the best at all sometimes he forgets our orders and he takes time we have to look for him to place some order.okay I had poached eggs on a toast bread with asparagus. My eggs were like the were poached in a vinegar only with water. Horrible. My bread was burnt and asparagus was not taste all. And all food were brought cold. Our food came after 1 hour we were already finished our coffees by then. The fresh pressed orange juice was not nice at all like was really bad. So next time I’m not visiting this place for breakfast at all I have tried several times but nothing has changed at all.

Good; I had breakfast here again yesterday. It's pretty much standard Tasha's food and the service was actually very good. Credit where credit is due, they are generous with their avocado. Dear management, don't change anything. The location is also great because it's not in a mall, and parking is easily available.

This is one of my favourite places. If I'm ever in Pretoria, this is the first place I need to go to. The venue, set-up , atmosphere, food, service - everything is exceptional. Just being here is such a vibe, I didn't want to leave. But the food does not disappoint either. I had the quiche and it was devine. One of the best quiches I have ever had. The menu has such a wide variety of dishes that caters for different tastes (and moods). The food is not badly priced. I already know the next 3 dishes I want to try. A local suggested we try Soaring Eagle Spur as a good South African Chain. Honestly, the food was shockingly good, it looked just like the photos and tasted really good! We tried the chicken avocado bacon salad, the crumbed mushrooms, a half chicken, and rooibos tea. The service was average, seemed like English was a bit of a barrier for the server and they forgot some of our food. We tried to wave them down, but they were frequently talking to other servers and hard to get their attention. By the time they finally came over to check on us we finished eating and asked them to take the missing food off the bill which they did.

I love Spur, as a tourist I find it amazing how a franchise can keep such a high standard to legitimately be able to call itself a restaurant still. This one was good just a little off standard. The food was over cooked, the taps were not working for beer and I was just given a bottled lager rather than the draught I was after (beer drinkers will understand, it’s like ordering a coffee and getting a tea), also our meals were served with no cutlery and one napkin to share. It’s not a big swipe at all but just why it wasn’t given 5 stars. Will I be back? Absolutely:)

It's Jhb Airport so it's very busy n noisy but the Waitrose was accommodating by find me a table near a plug points as thr cubicles didn't work for my charger. Had my go to favourite of Chicken Schnitzel with Garlic n Prawn sauce with a draught beer. I had a nice time

On 5th October returning from overseas I spent 2 hours at your restaurant having breakfast waiting for my transport to Durban. I was served by a waitress called Pinki who seemed warm and friendly but to my greatest dissapountment stole my reading glasses off my table going to the bathroom next door and demanding a big tip on a R220 bill. She was given over a R100 as she insisted on a tip. I'm a frequent flyer and always spend time at Spur but I must say this was truly a dissapounting experience and I will be very careful going there again while on my travels. Watch your possessions and check your bill in detail.

One of my friends ordered the chicken wrap, but it arrived without the advertised avocado. We had to ask for it, and it was served on the side. Our waitress seemed a bit unsure about the drinks menu and prices, but she was still friendly. The honey glazed thighs were tasty, although the honey flavors could have been more pronounced. Despite these , I'd definitely recommend this spot for a relaxed brunch with friends. The atmosphere is chilled, and you can easily have a conversation without shouting. Definite favorite.

A great example of the Tasha's franchise as the food is delicious and well plated, service is warm and professional and the atmosphere is typical of a popular cafe style restaurant. Very relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. The menu offers fantastic café style fare and the cocktails are well mixed and refreshing to sip on while you chat and wait for your food.

It bercer disappoints The vegetarian quesadillas were excellent as a starter with some white wine superbly served I was expecting more with the cauliflower steaks & had better elsewhere before, but the carrot cake was the BEST 1 I’ve ever had, & a very nice portion too.

The staff always on the point, welcome you with a smile make you feel you at home. Just ask for Patrica she can help you make your choice.I always come back time and time again to Tasha’s the food and menu choices are amazing. Make sure to try the tumeric, ginger and lemon tea also the freshly squeezed orange juice with ginger it’s so good.

Lovely place, the doughnut is always nice, I think no one will make better than Krispy Kreme. The ice cream is good as well.

So not only do they do mass orders for collection for parties, the staff are so friendly, they make really good coffees, with cute messages that really brighten up the day and of course the doughnuts are made fresh and are really yummy. They also do not charge extra for lactose free alternatives!

Absolutely stupid ordering system. You might be able to get some sort of traction if the staff feel OK, but if they don't, ordering requires two seperate counters and the luck of the God's in order to get coffee and a doughnut. Apparently, the manager is OK with loosing customers and does not acknowledge that there is an issue. I won't be going back here after being a loyal customer for quite some time. I will be instructing my family and friends to avoid them, and I'll take every opportunity to inform people of the absurdity of Krispy Kreme's ordering system. We need a real coffee shop in Rosebank, one that doesn't adhere to religious indoctrination and puts their customers first.

Good sweet overload-perfect if you are not looking after your weight. Can definitely recommend the filled options-much better and better value for money-range could be a bit bigger but will satisfy most people’s cravings . Staff were pleasant and quick and store was clean. The doughnuts were totally viable for the whole of the next day(if they had lasted-but were eaten well before then).

The guy was very rude ,l couldn't enjoy the food anymore because of the treatment he gave us.I am so disappointed 😞.

Excellent experience. Probably the Krispy Kreme with the most seating I've seen, plus you have a nice view of how the donuts are made which the kids love.

The customer service was good. Friendly workers. The shop opens at 7am and closes at 9pm. They have a variety of delicious doughnuts. The space is clean and they have comfortable sitting areas both inside the store and outside the store.
