Restaurant
Cafe Shillong is a laid-back spot with a relaxed vibe, featuring wooden floors, leather sofas, and a variety of continental dishes. Located in the Laitumkhrah area, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating with good WiFi. The cafe is known for its sophisticated decor, attentive staff, and a diverse menu that includes roasted pork ribs and Irish coffee. It also hosts live music events, such as Sunday performances by Shillong's own Lou Majaw.
Awesome food and excellent ambience! On a very busy street, you must relieve and let your taste buds savour the great food and drinks this place offers! The ladies serving and running this place are very polite and friendly! Be it Noodle, Smoothie or Momos - they add magic to food! Then, for a greater experience, visit on a Sunday! They have live music on Sundays starting at 6 pm. I loved this place for its food, ambience, rich history and love for football!

I went there for dining experience. Food (instead of Room) - 4.8/5 A bit costlier as compared to other cafes nearby but the taste of the chilli steak tenderloin was good. The rice noodles well complemented making it a well seasoned dish. The peach 🍑 smoothie was mentioned on the recommended drinks of the night. It justified it being the drink of the night. Service - 4.0/5 The server was zoned and clueless. I suspect him being drunk. But the lady in the reception held on her own but she looked visually frustrated with the server. Ambience (instead of location)- 4.5/5 Very nice laid back music-sports themed cafe in the heart of Laitumkhrah. The tables were clean and restaurant had no foul odour. Even the washrooms seemed really clean. I would personally visit again. Overall verdict - 4.5/5 Very good food prepared by the chef. The bill management system was efficiently managed by the staff. Please ensure the servers you have are proactive and work with a smile. Else I give a thumbs 👍 up to the place

Highly recommended by our driver so had to try it out. Their food was excellent. My friend took Chicken Bolgne Pasta and I Took Smoked Pork Shillong noodles. The pasta was good, the noodles were very full filling. It came with gravy and veggies separately inside a banana leaf with the chopsticks used as a holder. Very innovative presentation. Tasted very good. Nothing like I've had before. The only downside was they have a lot of stuffs from the menu unavailable. Desserts were completely off. No point giving the menu then. The balcony side is very good to sit.
Debargha M — Google review
This place is right in the middle of the Laimu market, the first thing you see when you walk out through the back gate of St. Edmund’s College. Prices are a little high for college students (hence I never visited when I was a student of SEC), but went there recently as an adult…cool place to sip a cup of coffee & look at the world pass by. Perfect view. On the day we visited, there was a power cut in the building so the menu options were limited especially in terms of beverage but on the whole, it was a nice & aesthetic dining experience!
Gayatri B — Google review
Awesome food!! Loved the veggie burger here and fries!! They make their own burger patty which was super tasty! Amazing ambience and great music. Had a great time as a solo traveller and must visit if you're in Shillong!
Sourabh K — Google review
An excellent restaurant! We had the veg momo with soup and the red rice with vegetables. All the dishes were excellent. The hot chocolate was also very good. Strongly recommend.
Sidhesh G — Google review
I'd read superb reviews so expectations were high, but I was the only customer (early Friday evening). The food was really good (I had momos and soup with mango milkshake) but none of the dessert options were available.
Dave B — Google review
I can't understand why this place got such a high rating. The service was really bad. We asked for mayonaise with the French fries, and they just gave cocktail sauce and then we requested again to give some mayonaise but then they gave ketchup. But before they said they have mayonaise. Then the pasta had a completely milky taste,, I did not finish the meal. We didn't order any drink but they also didn't offer some water. This for a very expensive restaurant. It seems that they had good reviews in the beginning, when they still tried to give good service, but this was far to be found now. We had to ask 3 times for a waitress, but they were all not at the bar or at the floor. Too expensive for such a bad service! I will never come there again.

Nestled right at Don Bosco Square, Jadoh is a charming little café that serves up an array of traditional Khasi dishes, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring Shillong. This cozy spot, owned by R J Cunville, is particularly popular among students due to its budget-friendly prices and hearty portions.
Loved the Jadoh meal! Amazing food. Balanced plated. The fish ball was great. The pork pieces were succulent and the rice was well cooked. The whole plate is a wholesome meal with great sides. I don't remember the names of each dish but the chutneys on the side were simply amazing!

Oh My My ! I can never forget the taste of this. This is the best of Khasi delicacies I ever had. Mashed Potatoes, Rice, Dal, Tomato Chutney and some Veggies. This is heaven. The Aunty at the counter is soo friendly. I would suggest this on any given day. I miss this place now though.
Ashique A — Google review
For the first time we tried out authentic Khashi delicacy. We ordered smoked pork combo which was served with Jadoh. The food was interesting, though it didn't suit our tastebuds.
Arijit G — Google review
This is my favourite place to come to when i have the craving for jadoh. This is my favourite food.. Jadoh with beef balls or chicken with gravy is the best thing in the world. The first thing i do when i come back to Shillong is to have jadoh. Its like a tradition 😂😂 but its true you have to have jadoh when you come back home. If not then bruh are you even from Shillong 😂😂😂

Trattoria is a local favorite in Shillong, offering a taste of authentic Khasi cuisine. The restaurant provides a vibrant and inviting atmosphere with polished stone tables and colorful photographic depictions of dishes adorning the walls. Whether you're vegan or non-vegan, there are plenty of options to indulge in, from Putharo with Soyabean Sauce to Black Sesame Seasoned Pork.
For the price very good. Simple Mutton Platter. The mutton pieces were very good for the prices. The chutneys will depend on your tastebuds. I liked 2. The rice is pretty good and the sabzi was decent aswell. For 350/- i dont think you can ask for more when the mutton is already the highlight. Located right at Police Bazaar. Feels like Pice Hotel, the service was good.
Debargha M — Google review
This restaurant is located near Police Bazaar, Shillong. They serve delicious Khasi cuisine. The service is good. One of the staff members, perhaps an owner or manager, was kind enough to help me with customizing the thali. The atmosphere is warm and cozy inside. Instead of chairs, they have benches like in classrooms which add to the charm. The prices are quite high in my opinion though. The place seems a bit touristy. Food: I got Jadoh (rice without pork pieces) with Khasi Special Chicken Thali. This customization was suggested by the friendly and helpful staff member when I mentioned that I was not a big fan of fatty pork pieces. The thali was nice and delicious. The side dishes and chutneys were interesting. The chicken pieces however were just trotters and I did not enjoy them. Jadoh rice was however so nice and flavorful, it probably had pork fat in it which made it quite flavorful. They also serve nice pork thalis and many other dishes including a fermented beans dish. Service: Quite friendly and helpful staff. Atmosphere: It is warm and inviting but with the benches, it can feel a bit cramped. Seating is also quite limited, it can be a problem at peak hours. However, I did get a seat without any wait time. Overall, a nice place to try local Khasi/Meghalaya cuisine in Shillong. However, the place feels a bit touristy and can be a bit expensive.

If you're in Shillong and looking for authentic Khasi food, this is a must-go place. Don't expect anything fancy here, everything is very basic, but the food is amazing! The pork platter gives you the taste of all of their pork items, Dosanjh is a great fried pork item.
Anirban B — Google review
The food was exceptionally delicious and flavorsome I was grinning all the while stuffing my face with the special Khasi pork thali! Special thanks to Deviss for making me feel welcome! :) Pew-like seating good for awkward introverts lol. Very clean and hygienic establishment. Very fairly priced as well even though there are no prices on the wall menus. My meal costs INR 330. Little surprise this family run restaurant won so many awards!
Andy N — Google review
Great food, go for the pork thaali. The sitting is small and cosy but the service is very good and the owner is very respectful and friendly. He attends to you personally.
Sudeep K — Google review
The food is excellent homely and tasty! One of the staff i. e. Davees is a very kind and helpful in choosing from the menu. We had pork thali which was really good and i had my first experience having khasi food in shillong!
Mayur P — Google review
We reached the place at 08:00 PM , being the first day in Meghalaya , we didn’t know that people finish dinner by 7:00 - 7:30 in the evening. But Davees was kind enough to offer us rice with mutton curry and pork curry. We enjoyed the Khasi cuisine. There was three varieties of pork served , all were tasty. Along with , there was 3 different varieties of chutney and salad.
Arjun M — Google review
One of the best places to have a traditional Khasi Thali. The pork thali was awesome and very tasty. Prompt service and eat slowly if you want to eat a lot. But what truly made the experience memorable was the warmth and hospitality of the owner. Their friendly nature made us feel more like guests than customers. It's rare to find someone so genuinely welcoming.

City Hut Family Dhaba is a charming eatery located in the heart of Shillong, offering a traditional northern Indian menu in a casual setting. The restaurant prides itself on its authentic Indian flavors and warm ambiance, making it an ideal spot for families and friends to enjoy a peaceful dining experience. The establishment is dedicated to preserving the essence of Indian cuisine while providing a space for relaxation and familial bonding.
Best hotel in shillong police bazar with lot of parking space. Here you need to wait atleast 20-25mins to get the table. We tried their iconic badshahi chicken tandoori, mexican spice grilled chicken and penne el fredo chicken pasta, brownie with icecream. All the dishes tasted very well. Price is bit higher but it's definitely worth for the fine dine-in experience.

If you’re someone who appreciates a beautiful ambiance and unique decor, this restaurant will definitely catch your eye. The interior is a charming blend of rustic village aesthetics with life-sized figurines, flowing water features, bamboo decor, and colorful flower arrangements. Every corner seems thoughtfully designed to transport you to a peaceful countryside setting — a perfect place for photos and relaxed conversations. However, when it comes to the food, the experience doesn’t quite match the visuals. The dishes looked promising, but the taste was underwhelming. The flavors lacked depth, and some items felt either too bland or overly spiced without balance.
Mridul B — Google review
Place is nicely decorated. Nice atmosphere. But service is very poor. No care taken for guests by sufficient number of waiters. After a long wait and reminders food was served. Butter was missing from butter Naan and too much chilli in chicken. It started burning 🥵 inside. I had to take ice cream to cool my burning tongue 😛. Very bad experience on a very special day of my life.

City Hut Family Dhaba, Shillong – A Perfect Blend of Flavor, Warmth & Comfort City Hut Family Dhaba is hands down one of the most charming and satisfying dining spots in Shillong. Nestled near Ward’s Lake, this restaurant stands out not just for its extensive multi-cuisine menu, but for the cozy wooden interiors, warm lighting, and consistently prompt service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Ambience & Seating: The interiors are tastefully done with a rustic wooden décor that offers a cozy cabin-like feel. Whether you're dining with family, friends, or just seeking a quiet corner for a hearty meal, the seating is spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for long conversations over good food. Service: The staff is courteous, attentive, and efficient. Orders are served timely, and they are happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. Special mention to the hospitality – it reflects a genuine effort to ensure customer satisfaction. Food Experience: The food here is the true highlight. The menu offers a diverse range from Indian, Chinese, and Continental to local favorites. Here’s what we tried and loved: Penne Alfredo: Rich, creamy and loaded with vegetables – the white sauce pasta was indulgent yet balanced, garnished with fresh spring onions. Waldorf Salad: Creamy and refreshing, with the perfect blend of apples, walnuts, cucumber, and pineapple, finished with a cherry on top. Veg Sizzler: Served on a bed of cabbage leaves, it had a smoky, tangy, and spicy profile with well-cooked baby corn, capsicum, and assorted vegetables. Hakka Noodles: Perfectly tossed, neither too oily nor bland, loaded with crunchy vegetables and topped with spring onions for freshness. Menu Variety: From the menu images, you can see that they offer a wide variety across: Seafood delicacies like Cantonese Prawns, Mustard Chilli Prawns, Fish in Garlic Sauce Pasta options like Penne Al Fredo, Fusilli in Tomato Sauce, Spaghetti in Pesto Sauce Desserts including Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Mousse, and Hot Gulab Jamun – you’ll be spoiled for choice. Their dessert display counter is quite inviting, with options like jar cheesecakes, mousse, and brownies clearly labeled and well-presented. Pricing: The prices are very reasonable considering the quality, portion size, and location. Most main course dishes range from ₹370 to ₹600, and desserts are fairly priced too. Cleanliness & Hygiene: The restaurant maintains high hygiene standards. The tables are well set, cutlery is clean, and the surroundings are spotless. Ideal For: Families looking for a hearty meal Tourists exploring Ward’s Lake or Police Bazar nearby Food lovers seeking quality multi-cuisine in a peaceful ambiance Final Verdict: City Hut Family Dhaba isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Whether you're a local or a tourist in Shillong, this place should be on your must-visit list. Consistent flavors, warm service, and a delightful ambiance make it a top-notch dining destination in the city. Highly recommended.

Highly Recommended Place.

The food is so flavoured rich, I really loved it. It has a lovely ambience and service is really quick. Sometimes, it has a wait time, so it's better to reserve a table in advance (for a group). Food was really 10/10 , be it breads, indian cuisine or a dessert. Would love to visit again!!

Whether you're a fan of Bob Dylan or not, the café's inviting ambiance, complete with panoramic views of lush green hills and an eclectic mix of rustic and retro elements, is sure to captivate you.
Very cozy place. Outside sitting place is also available. Well maintained space. Talking about the food, it was so so delicious. Every singly bite was worth every penny. Reasonable price. Will be visiting every time when in Shillong.

Very cosy cafe with nice dylan’s themed. Both inside and outdoor sitting is quite nice. There is nice view from outside. The indoor theme is just wow with lovely music playing. I went there for the coffee. We ordered basic cappuccino. It was okayish. Not bad, not great. Serving cups could have been better. They gave coffee in a mug. It would have been nice if they served in coffee cups

We went here on our visit to shillong. We were very hungry and are vegetarians so ordered a bunch of veg food. Their shillong noodles is too good. We had already mentioned to make it in its authentic way and they did exactly that. Their hot chocolate with marshmallows was so so comforting in the rainy weather. We also tried their hash brown. It was damn nice, totally worth trying. Their naga chilli cheese toast is worth the hype. Its too good. Their farmhouse pizza however disappointed us. It was not cooked properly. But the staff was really good. They immediately replaced it with nachos which were also really nice. We also got to witness some live music. All in all we had a good time

The ambience is good with outdoor eating as well as indoor seating options. Service was very prompt and staff warm welcoming. However, the food was disappointing and not just one or two items. Good meal: - berry smoothie - mushroom and cheese toastie - Naga chilli toastie Ok meal: - Shillong noodles To be avoided: - cold coffee - cheesy fries - onion rings (absolutely bland, no taste at all) - cheese pulled bread (bread was very soft but no cheese)

The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The place has a perfect vibe — cozy, clean, and relaxing. It’s a great spot to enjoy a meal and unwind with friends or family. Highly recommended! 🍽️✨

We were a slightly larger bunch, 2 adults & 5 kids & had gone for a lunch kind of meal. We had 1. Mac n cheese 2. Pull apart cheese bread 3. Cheesy fries 4. Strawberry cheese cake 5. Waffles 6. Rose Mary chicken 7. Bob’s burger 8. Sautéed veggies ( not on menu and specially made on-request, by the chef ) Found food to be reasonably decent. Service was with a smile and prompt. We were not too flustered by the staff and were ( thankfully ) left to ourselves. Music in the background was subtle. Apparently they have live band on Fridays. It’s a first floor set up restaurant, lift access is not available ( so no wheel Chairs ), they have an outside and inside seating. The weather was fantastic , for an outside sitting as well. Menu is continental. They may serve some brands of beer as well. Washrooms were clean and tidy.

Dylan’s Café – A Tribute to Art, Music & Flavours in Shillong Visited Dylan’s café on a Thursday, 1st May and was floored by the unique theme and cozy ambience adorned with very thoughtful artworks to celebrate Bob Dylan, creating a trendy and artistic dining experience. The soft music in the background added to the pleasant, laid-back vibe. Located on the first floor, the café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with separate zones for smoking and non-smoking guests. The service staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming — their friendly demeanour and helpful recommendations added to the charm of the place. Ordered Crunchy chicken burger, Naga Chili pork with Shillong noodles. The food was sumptuous and portions were very good. The chili pork was a standout — tender, flavour-packed, and perfectly spiced. Shillong noodles had a fresh, peppery punch and tender chicken chunks, it was truly the chef’s delight. Adequate parking within the café premises and well-maintained washrooms also enhanced the overall experience. The place was a bit pricey, but felt the quality of the food quality, ambience, and experience made it worth every penny. Would definitely recommend Dylan’s café for a relaxed, romantic casual outing and enjoy the signature dish - Naga Chili pork with Shillong noodles.

Lamee is a popular restaurant located in the bustling Police Bazar area of Shillong, Meghalaya. This family-friendly eatery offers a mix of Indian and Chinese cuisine, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. The warm hospitality and convenient location make it an ideal spot for a delicious meal after exploring the lively streets of Police Bazar.
Although our original plan was to visit the famous Lamee Multi Cuisine Restaurant, exhaustion led us to opt for food delivery via Zomato. However, our experience with their delectable dishes left us thoroughly satisfied. 🥡 Generous Portions, Immaculate Street Food Flavors: We ordered 2 servings of Chowmein and 1 portion of Chilli Paneer. The quantity provided by Lamee was more than enough for our group of 5. The dishes had that authentic street food touch, tantalizing our taste buds and offering a welcome change after surviving on train food for two days. 💫 A Memorable Delivery Experience: Despite not dining in at the restaurant, Lamee Multi Cuisine Restaurant managed to leave a lasting impression. The seamless delivery process through Zomato ensured our food arrived fresh and piping hot, ready to be enjoyed. Lamee Multi Cuisine Restaurant is a name worth remembering in Shillong's culinary scene. Whether dining in or ordering for delivery, their flavorsome dishes and generous portions are sure to please any food enthusiast.

Lamee is a great restaurant just located in heart of police Bazar, shillong near by landmarks are puma store or centre point hotel. Areas for improvement would menu option and service can be little faster. The food was great and taste was good. The service was appropriate and place is reasonably well on your pocket. I would recommend for people looking for authentic North Indian go for this place. It's located on 1st floor of the building.

Had pork fried momo and hunan pork dry. The momo's were good. The price was definitely high. It was ₹270 for a plate. The taste was good though. The hunan pork was amazing. Highly recommended. The price of ₹410 for it felt worth it. The taste was definitely satisfactory, but the price was exorbitant for momos.

The food is good and tastes great , the decor is good and cozy, the place is near the main market areas, employees are good and have nice behaviour.... So it's a good place for brunch or even for a heavy meal afterwards. We ordered pork chilly gravy, rice and chapati, and found the food to be a little too costly , but the taste and portion of food is ok in comparison to the price . So , I'll say go for it.

Lamee Restaurant in Shilong provided me with an exceptional dining experience. The wontons were expertly prepared, with thin and flavorful wrappers and a delicious filling. The staff was friendly and attentive, making my visit truly enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking delicious Chinese cuisine in the area.

This place offers some great food across Indian and Chinese cuisines. Has a great seating arrangement and not at all congested. Tried Chinese here and the dumplings just melt in the mouth, was so good. The staff are great. Fairly new restaurant but with the food and service lamee has kept it good. A little problem with the network connection though which makes it difficult for card payments. If an option carry cash and for the restaurant, kindly fix that problem.

The place is well located... Easily can be spotted from far.. the ambience is good... And soo is the food.. the only thing I didn't like about lamee is its staff.. very rude.. firstly they made us stand for 15 min and when we were Given seats no body attended us.. the staff which did acted Asif we do not belong their.. our order was late and we had to order again. I felt bad the way the treated the customer.. I use to love this place but I won't prefer it now. Their are better restuarant..

Good food!! Reviewing what I ordered Pork wontons - crispy and delicious, loved it!! Pork thali - okayish… was expecting white rice and a proper thali but got instead some fried rice kind of and pork manchurian style but was expecting a proper pork curry, chutney, veggies and all…. Pork dry fry - asked for pork dry fry but got something sweet sauce pork fry( disappointed there a bit)… but not bad and okayish in terms of taste…

Absolutely loved the Naga thali with smoked pork and Axone. Slightly overpriced but good. Pork momo are must try and recommend everyone to try. Chicken lollipop I took away, wasn't great size and quality wise. Mid average. Wished to try more dishes but for a single person already ordered more than required.

Don’t know about other categories of food but I tried “Naga Thali” it wasn’t naga at all so, I guess they need to justify the tag they’re using, anyway the ambience wax ok, You can try once, may be I was unlucky.

Red Rice Restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with a unique touch—availability of Naga foods in their menu. The well-decorated interior adds to the ambiance, creating an inviting atmosphere. The staff is both attentive and well-behaved, ensuring a positive dining experience. I tried the Naga thali for the first time, and it was truly delightful. The fast food serving time and ample seating arrangements contribute to the overall efficiency of the restaurant. An introduction of a wash basin would be a beneficial addition for customers' convenience. Currently closing at 9 pm, extending the closing hours could accommodate more customers and provide flexibility for those looking for a later meal. In summary, Red Rice Restaurant stands out for its unique menu, pleasant ambiance, and attentive staff, with potential improvements like the introduction of a wash basin and extending closing hours for enhanced customer satisfaction.

Located in the heart of Shillong, Dejavu is a unique restaurant and lounge bar that offers a captivating blend of culinary delights and vibrant entertainment. With its carefully curated decor and dim lighting, the atmosphere provides an inviting escape from urban life. Catering to a dynamic and youthful clientele, it's known for exceptional food, lively music, and an exclusive karaoke station.
The service was excellent. We ordered a variety of dishes, and the waiting time was reasonable—not too long. The food was top-notch, and it was some of the best Chinese cuisine in town, both in quality and quantity. Worth the price. We would definitely go again and recommend it to anyone. We tried their octopus in black pepper sauce, and it was truly something new. The taste was excellent. Second visit, had their Smoked Roasted Chicken. That was a full meal on it's on. For the price, it's really great value! Huge pieces of chicken with a side of veggies, 10/10 would recommend to any meat lovers. Also tried their smoked pork spare ribs, taste profile is similar with the chicken but it had a more fatty taste which had its own unique taste. Tried their Fried Udon as well, quality wise, no one comes close to Dejavu. Yet.

Qzine – A Multi‑Cuisine Delight From the moment we walked in, Qzine’s modern yet cozy décor set the stage for an exceptional meal. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and were attentive throughout, offering helpful recommendations without ever being intrusive. Our Mandarin Fish arrived first: perfectly seared fillets, bathed in a tangy‑sweet citrus glaze that was bright without overpowering the delicate ocean flavor. Each bite was tender and succulent, with just the right balance of zest and umami. The Garlic Naan that accompanied it was a revelation—pillowy soft, flecked with golden roasted garlic bits, and expertly blistered at the edges so it could scoop up every last drop of sauce. We also tried the Tandoori Roti: crisp on the outside, chewy within, with a gentle smokiness from the clay oven that paired beautifully with the fish. Though simple, it showcased Qzine’s commitment to perfecting the basics. In every respect—food quality, service, and ambiance—Qzine exceeded our expectations. Whether you’re craving bold global flavors or classic breads done right, this spot deserves a top spot on your list. Highly recommended!

The food was so atrocious, if anybody wants to visit this restaurant please don't it can be your most biggest mistake. And it was so overpriced compared to the food served, like we can't describe the food it was so gross and just a waste of money. Barbeque Chinese Restaurant is a popular dining spot in the Police Bazaar area of Shillong. The restaurant boasts a unique ambience with dim lighting, Chinese decor, and well-designed furniture that reflects the artistry of China. It caters to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, offering a diverse menu featuring North Indian, South Indian, and Chinese cuisines along with delectable desserts and beverages.
On entering the restaurant one gets the feeling of China because the interiors of the restaurant are influenced by Chinese culture. As the speciality of this restaurant is Chinese cuisine ordered Chicken Hakka Noodles, Chicken Chowmein and Chilli Chicken. Both the noddles and the chowmein had different flavours so enjoyed both the items along with the chilli chicken.

We visited today for lunch. Nachos were served complementary. We ordered chicken momo as starter, which was good. One plate contain 8 pieces. For main course we ordered chicken haka noodles, veg fried rice, garlic chicken and another chicken with lots of vegetables. We loved all but noodles smelled a bit. Service is prompt, didn't take long time to serve. The space is congested but guests were not loud. Decor is very colourful but cozy.

It’s one of the specific joints in police Bazaar,Shillong to taste Chinese foods. We tried- Pork wonton - Too good American chop suey - good but more Smoked Garlic rice - Tastes good but didn’t find flavour Chilli chicken - Good Bamboo shoot chicken - I like it too Mostly this is a restaurant cum bar and the ambiance is portrayed accordingly. Stuffs were a bit weird but the manager was so humble and helpful. Waiting time is high but the most noticeable thing is that it’s most probably the only Chinese restaurant opened until 10PM. So it’s a must go for late night dinner date 😁❤️

The food is very tasty and the price charged is reasonable given the quantity and the quality of the food. Has clean washrooms. The place has the tacky feel of typical Asian Chinese restaurants. But given the price point, it delivered good food. Was really in the mood for eating spaghetti so I thought I’d order it from Munchies as I’ve had couple of good experiences. But today, wasn’t that day. In the middle of eating my food, I found a dead fly. Wondering if the fly was cooked along with the food or just happened to fly and fall in my food. This just killed my appetite and gave me a really bad feeling. I’ve never experienced this ever before so this is just upsetting and disappointing. Ordered via Swiggy.

Munchies Shillong impressed us with their delicious Chicken Cheese Paratha, which lived up to its reputation. The Hot Chocolate and Masala Milk Tea were also delightful. However, the Flat Noodles with Bacon and Sausages fell short, as the white sauce was overwhelming. A cozy spot with some great hits and a few misses!

Worst food I've ever tasted. I was really excited to try their famous burger but behold, there was no proper meat in my meat burger. The patty was like a mixture of 20% meat and some other fillers. Had a bad experience. We wanted to order Chicken Steak, but the staff replied that it would take time to prepare as they are having too many online orders. So let me warn you friends that greater importance is given to online customers. We then ordered Royal Pasta and to our surprised we were served with BBQ Pasta. Located in the heart of Shillong, ML 05 Cafe is a unique space that reflects the owner's passion for bikes, sports, and travel. It's a great place to connect with fellow travelers and bikers over comfort foods like Wai wai thukpa and onion bhajia. The cafe's theme pays homage to Shillong's love for vehicles, with seating arrangements made using Naga shawls and Khasi bamboo mats.

The Bombay spicy wings, farmhouse pizza, and hot chocolate are excellent. However, the Alfredo white pasta and Shillong fried rice are not up to the mark. The washrooms are well-maintained. Saiavinash D — Google review
A hidden gem nestled in the serene pine forests of Shillong, ML 05 Cafe is an absolute must-visit for any food and travel enthusiast. I recently had the pleasure of dining there and was completely captivated by the experience. The cafe's unique, motor-themed ambiance, which celebrates the region's love for bikes and cars, is both quirky and inviting. With a Royal Enfield motorcycle hanging from the ceiling and clever use of vehicle parts for decor, the atmosphere is unlike any other. The real star of the show, however, is the food. I ordered the Bombay sandwich, the chef's special Maggi, and the noodles, and each dish was bursting with flavor and made to perfection. The menu offers a delightful mix of hearty Italian and Chinese dishes, local favorites, and creative street-food-inspired options. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was even better—true comfort food that warms the soul. Beyond the amazing food and cool decor, the cafe's location itself is a treat, offering stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty. The staff is attentive and the service is terrific, making you feel relaxed and welcomed. It's the perfect spot to unwind after a visit to the nearby Elephant Falls or to simply enjoy a cozy evening with friends. ML 05 Cafe is more than just a place to eat; it’s a destination that captures the heart with its serene vibe and delicious offerings.
Harsh B — Google review
This food joint located at the outskirts of Shillong has a unique vibe and ambience. You’ll love it if you’re into travelling and especially into riding. They actually have a Royal Enfield hung right inside the café. The overall set up is about travel, number plates and North East. Food here is good but not so great to be honest. They do have various options to choose from, but the taste for most of the items are okayish. The portion sizes in English breakfast platter are ridiculously small and mostly it’ll not be sufficient if you’re a foodie. The sitting arrangements are cozy and provides you the privacy you want. The washroom is clean and decent in size. The staffs here don’t have a heartwarming polite behaviour but it suffices your needs. The road leading to this establishment might be little confusing due to the ongoing highway work. Just for the record, the entry to this café is directly from the highway through a pine forest. It’s not as shown in Google Maps (through Krishi Vigyan Kendra). Please be very careful on this aspect otherwise you’ve to walk a LOT. Overall, a decent food joint to spend some good cozy times with your family, friends or partner.
Indranil B — Google review
Concept of Cafe's interior is unique and good showing various parts of a car. Food is okay. But service needs refining and attitude of the staff is not conducive.
Sampath K — Google review
Great food and a lovely location. Only downside, had to wait around 40 minutes for the food, which felt a bit too long.
Kangkan G — Google review
ML 05 has an amazing location with stunning views that make it worth a visit. They have a good selection of coffee, even though the menu doesn’t list the flavors — you can always ask! I tried the hazelnut coffee, and it was really nice. Their bakery items are also worth a mention; I enjoyed the apple pie. When it comes to food, my experience was mixed. The fried rice with chicken wasn’t great (the chicken seemed undercooked or just not right), but their signature Biker’s English Breakfast was excellent when I tried it on my first visit. It’s a lovely place to relax and enjoy the view, but not the best spot if you’re planning to work remotely, as the Wi-Fi speed isn’t very reliable. Overall, a scenic cafe with good coffee and some standout dishes, especially if you’re here to soak in the atmosphere.

It is in busy part of the town and there is no parking.

I have been to this place twice. During my first visit there was a hair strand in my Dosa but I ignored it after informing the staff but didn't report to higher authority. However during my second visit on 02 Oct 25 I found a insect in the Sambhar. Now I am sure that for this restaurant hygiene is the last priority. tThis time I'm going to report it to the food authority.

In the middle of the buzzing Police Bazar, the food was good, I tried paper masala dosa which was good, chutney was ok ok, Chicken dum biriyani is average, soup was perfect. If you are any time Shillong wants to taste south indian food, this is the place to go.
Tulu T — Google review
We stopped for a quick dinner here and were not disappointed by the hype. The staff was hospitable and the ambience was decent as well. The tomato onion uttapam was good and the sambar and chutneys were good too but probably not the best. It’s a decent South Indian place in the middle of a busy bazar which is value for money. The filter coffee was on the bitter side and needed sugar to be added on the top. Overall a really good place and would go again for other menu options.
Devanshi A — Google review
Food is okay but service is really slow. We have to ask thrice for filter coffee and it was not at all good. Dosa and chole bhature were good. Main course items are also good
Sarita C — Google review
We were craving for veg, south place and this place was a heaven for us. We had mysore Masala dosa and South Indian thali. Both were good. Filter coffee was average. Price is premium but you barely get south indian food elsewhere so theres a premium.

Visited Namma Madras Cafe for dinner recently. The idea of getting Tamil/South Indian food in the Northeast is definitely interesting, and it’s nice to see such regional variety. However, the food was just okay — nothing exceptional in terms of taste. Prices felt quite high for the portion and quality offered. The ambience and overall experience were decent, but not standout. Worth a try if you're craving South Indian food, but manage your expectations. It will take minimum 2min to get the entrance of the restaurant as it is full covered by a roadside sale guy

Bamboo Hut in Shillong is a popular Chinese restaurant known for its extensive menu of delicious dishes. The interior, entirely crafted from bamboo, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal dining spot. The restaurant takes pride in its skilled chefs who expertly prepare each dish to perfection, ensuring a tantalizing culinary experience. Additionally, the restaurant offers North East's indigenous cuisines in a tribal hut setting with traditional wood carvings and cultural performances.
Great place, great food, nice staff. It's hard to find a large variety in Menu in such remote locations. Nearby place is Police bazaar. Ordered Veg Steam Momos, Veg Sizzler, Masala mushroom and Tandoori Roti. However the restaurant has a wide variety of both Veg and Non veg dishes. In fact a heaven for non veg dishes connoisseur.

The food was subtle and nice. The interiors is a bit dark n gloomy. Too much decor makes the place stuffy. They also forgot 1 / 3 items ordered, and on following up gave steamed momos so late instead of pan fried momos. Price is moderate.
Saloni S — Google review
The food here is okay. I found the Dal Fry to be lacking in salt. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, it comes in 8 pieces and is quite tasty. I would recommend you to try the Manchow Soup and the Hot and Sour Soup. The service quality is pretty good with a friendly and hospitable staff. You can certainly give it a visit. It is located near the High Court, Meghalaya.

Delhi Mistan Bhandar stands out among the sweet shops in Shillong for its focus on offering North Indian cuisine. This pure vegetarian restaurant provides limited but delicious options such as samosas, chole bhature, and Indian sweets. It caters to the demand for vegetarian restaurants in Shillong that serve North Indian food, making it a unique dining experience in the area.
I have a sweet tooth and from north India. For someone on visit to Shillong and looking for sweets, this shop is ok as there are hardly any sweet shops in Shillong. But if you are expecting the quality and standard of shop like any average sweet shop next door in north India then you will be sad. Quality of sweets, gol gappa etc is just average. However, besan laddoo and hot jalebi were above average.

I ordered Gulab jamun and after reaching home when I was eating it, it was yellowish in the middle and it had a taste of sourness. I didn't understand what went wrong but I did not expect this from this brand atleast. Very very disappointed, the price is high but the taste 🤢
Vijay S — Google review
I tried the chole bhature here, and while the taste was just okay, the overall experience wasn’t great. The sitting area is cramped and uncomfortable, and the cleanliness is seriously lacking. The hygiene levels didn’t feel up to the mark, which took away from the dining experience. Personally, I wouldn’t prefer going here again.
Manj M — Google review
Is this how sandesh sweet suppose to look , we order it and the guy just pack it without showing us , we as a customer trusted them but they give us this type of food .... And the cleanliness don't even talk about it it's the worst......

Delhi Mistanna Bhandar is conveniently located near Police Bazar. The interior is dated and lacks interest, but it maintains cleanliness. While the food items were tasty, the cost was surprisingly high. Unfortunately, the staff lacked attentiveness, and the service did not meet expectations. In summary, Delhi Mistanna Bhandar offers a convenient location and tasty food, but improvements in pricing, staff attentiveness, and service quality are needed for a more satisfying experience.
Paulomi B — Google review
Only recommended for its sweets. Don't have tea in this place, you won't get that kadak chai for refreshment.
Shikha S — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at this sweet shop. After consuming their products — suji ka halwa, samosa, and milk tea — I developed severe gastric issues that lasted for quite some time, something I had never experienced before. The quality of the food did not feel fresh or hygienic. Moreover, I find their pricing to be on the higher side, and unfortunately, the quality does not justify the cost. It feels unfair, especially for the people of Shillong as well as tourists, who expect better standards. I sincerely hope the management takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving both the quality and fairness in pricing.
Niloy M — Google review
I would like to explain this place in just 3 words: TASTY | EXPENSIVE | AVERAGE SERVICE And also overall experience was okayish. I was roaming around the streets of Shillong for some local shopping to be done and happened to see this outlet, bit crowded and also by looking at authentic Delhi style chats on the menu which tempted me to enter. I ordered Delhi chats and these people have a weird procedure to take our order. First you should order whatever you want from the counter and get the bill, then find a seat yourself, then wait for the waiter to come to you and take the bill from you to get the dish you wanted. If you go to the counter to get the same dish they won't hand it over to you, unless it is a parcel. So, if you're too hungry and visit this place you have to wait till you get a table and the waiter reaches you, that was quite bothersome. When it comes to sweets and chats we had, everything was excellent in taste and perfectly spiced up. Pakka Delhi style. Overall a good experience, when you're around this locality, I would recommend this place for chats, though it's a little expensive for that locality.

The Wok La Chaumiere is a popular spot in Shillong known for its unique blend of Shillong Chinese cuisine, featuring momos and chow. It stands out for its consistency and use of fresh veggies like spring onions and green peas. The restaurant offers affordable, generous portions of flavorful dishes such as Vietnamese Non Spicy Pork Executive with Shitake Mushroom Soup.
I enjoyed my dining experience here. I had the pork momo(big) which was really good, so soft and the filling was flavourful. I didn’t really like the sauce served with it though, lacked a bit of spice. I also tried the prawn chow and the American chopsuey and they were both good. The service is outstanding and the ambiance is warm and cozy
Ibanrisha N — Google review
I'm puzzled by the loss of authenticity in Shillong restaurants like The WOK, which served subpar food during my recent visit. The hot and sour soup was unappetizing, the chicken chilli and momos were mediocre, the spicy chutney was surprisingly sweet, and the coffee was underwhelming, making for a disappointing dining experience overall.

Delicious Chinese and Thai Cuisine! I'm a regular takeout customer at The Wok Restaurants and I'm always impressed by the flavors and variety of their Pan Asian cuisines. Their menu offers a great selection of classic options, and I've tried several of their popular dishes. Their Soups and Noodles definitely standout for me personally, with perfectly balanced flavors and tender ingredients. I've also enjoyed their Prawn and Chicken Tom Yum & Thai Soup, which has a great balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. The service is always efficient, and the food arrives hot and fresh. I've never had any issues with my orders, and the staff is friendly and helpful when I need to contact them. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese and Thai takeout. The quality of the food and the reliable service make it a great choice for a quick and satisfying meal.

Gem of a place in Shillong for Chinese food. We placed our orders to go actually, so i don’t have any photos of them, but while waiting for it- we ordered a tom yum soup(with prawns)- just loved the flavours. The packed food was delicious as well, these flavours were new to me- not your regular desi Chinese, we had the combos- can’t remember exactly what we did order but might have been the balinese executive combo. Just loved it here.

The restaurant has recently updated its menu to feature a wide range of international and local favorites. La Galerie is popular among both tourists and locals for its fine dining ambiance and diverse culinary offerings.
We walked into this place quite late for lunch not knowing what to expect. And then we found these on the menu (see photos) The place has an old Parisian feel. The decor and furniture match that vibe. It is located at Police Bazar junction in Shillong. The staff were well trained and courteous. We went back again for breakfast to this place the next day. It's slightly on the higher end compared to other places nearby but worth the price. The staff even change something if you don't find it ok.

We visited LA-GALERIE at Centre Point Hotel in Police Bazar, Shillong for an evening tea and snack. The milk tea, cappuccino, and veg pakora were delightful. The tables were beautifully decorated, clean, and the prime location offered a view of the bustling PB crowd. On another visit for dinner, the veg momo, mutton and fish thali, paneer sizzler, and desserts were delicious, but some first-choice items were unavailable. Despite the variety offered, the absence of preferred dishes affected our overall dining experience. Would like to mention about the service of the staff members who were welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Located at the centre of the police bazaar. The landscape view of the bazaar from the hotel is beautiful. Interior of the hotel is quite classic and gives a royal vibes. Wooden furniture and natural flowers on dinning table adds to its aesthetic. However, foods are exorbitantly costly. Two peices of fish curry cost me Rs. 380, which one neither delicious nor that deserving. So,one may check the menu well before ordering. All the best!

Well decorated restaurant, in the heart of police bazar. Extremely well maintained nd polite staff but the food is quite average as per taste nd it’s price. Little miscommunication with order… we ordered 2 side dishes with single portion but they offered two nd didn’t even mention. So improvement needed.

Vicky D — Google review
I visited this place after a long time, and I used to absolutely love the dosas. However, things have changed. I tried the Cheese Masala Dosa and the Butter Masala Dosa. The dosa itself was crispy yet soft, which I enjoyed, but the filling was a letdown. It was surprisingly bland, and I had expected a bit of spice, not just raw green chilies. That was a bit disappointing. The sambhar was good but the chutney was so bad, they served peanut chutney instead of the coconut chutney which was really disappointing. The tomato chutney was also missing. I also tried the Paneer Kulcha with Chole, which looked appealing but didn't quite deliver on taste. The kulcha was decent, but the chole lacked flavour. On a positive note, the special tea was good, although a bit too sweet. I suggest offering it without sugar and providing sugar packets instead. The atmosphere was good, and the service was exceptional

Have been visiting regal since I was a child and today I visited again with my mother we ordered masala dosa, once chicken fried rice and drums of heaven however today there were less people so the staff were little attendant but other days even if we call them they don't seem to bother and just look around for other staffs and my main concern is that i am very disappointed by today's food that was served firstly the fried rice was smelling and stale and it did not taste fresh and was just half warm and the most disgusting part was the drumstick which is drums of heaven it was overly coated with all the batter and i found the skin and the *furs of chicken on it 🤮 i highly don't recommend to eat this and even the dosa didn't tasted good today it was tasting sour and the masala was so blunt felt like we were eating dosa with just boiled potato without salt and any flavour.. I paid the full bill despite my concern I didn't want other people eating to loose their appetite I feel like they are not serving fresh food and also if they are maintaining hygiene why did i found all fur in the chicken 🤢 next time I will hardly recommend anyone to visit there again.. please look into your hygiene and freshness of food i could have raised concern on the moment itself but I didn't want to do this in front of the customers..take my words I didn't even felt like clicking the picture of that furs i lost the appetite the moment I saw that didn't expected this..

First of all, there is nothing call service. You write for them and they will bring the order. The chicken combo cost 220, it is like gulping a glass of oil, with every spoon your lips will be shiny with the oil. Wasted my money. The menu was very limited as well. With 18 different wood-fired options available, including fabulous thin crust and fusion varieties, Pizza Barn offers a truly distinctive dining experience.
They've really improved the service timings and was really happy about that. This place is really cozy and comfortable even if you're a first timer here. Make sure to clearly mention whether you want medium thin crust or complete thin crust. There's a difference. Pizzas are amazing ofcourse but also their beverage is not left behind. Must go to.

The Chinese restaurant Kim Pou is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike for its tasty food and great prices. The service is always friendly and welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
The food exceeded my expectations—every bite is packed with rich, flavorful taste, featuring generous portions of vegetables and meats. The chili complements the dishes perfectly, adding just the right kick to enhance the flavors. Each dish is not only delicious but also offers great value for money, with portion sizes large enough to serve up to two people. However, while the food is impressive, the restaurant has a limited selection of beverages. Expanding the drink menu would make the dining experience even better.

Very reasonable price and did not had to wait much for the food. Good service. Recommended for non vegetarians.

Unfortunately, the food here didn’t meet expectations. The spring rolls were heavily loaded with artificial red coloring, which was off-putting. Portion sizes across Meghalaya seem to be quite inconsistent—some dishes come in overly large servings, while others lack heavily on quantity. We also tried the Schezwan noodles and another type of regular veg noodles (can’t recall the name), and veg man chow soup but sadly, neither impressed us in terms of taste.

The service was out of this world, also the hospitality, tables were prestine. So as you may know, Chilly chicken is known to be spicy, but then as for my mother-in-law's sake I had to order a less spicy, semi gravy, and more veggies if possible. I ordered takeaway, but received quite the opposite. It is all a joke on what the customer's ask right!? If you feel it isn't right and you can't execute an order just because of principle that it would make the food suck then don't execute it! Just explain to the customer that it is like this and that. . . . .and just show your talent behind the kitchen and just make the best meal, the manager will handle the rest. Well, you have lost my respect and my loyalty.

I wanted to rate it less but food was the saving grace a little. Ordered Mix chowk, chicken chilly, Chicken Sweet Corn Soup and Sweet Lassi. Let me start with the lassi, I am the stupid one here to order something like that in a Chinese restro. It was pathetic lol. Wanted to try prawn spring roll(unavailable) and chicken sweets and sour but they denied the latter saying it's in gravy and cannot be given in gravy. Unable to accomodate such a small request is a turn off in my dictionary for service. Mix chow was very good, sweet corn chicken was okay, chicken chilly had good large pieces and potential to be very good but was senseless spicy with no real punch or that umami as they say. The server demanded a tip for serving, since I didn't want to, my hand was held while I was leaving. Absolutely appalling and rubbish antics by the server. Atmosphere rating is less because there were families who entered with kids and played their irritating youtube videos on loud speaker and not once the restro asked them to lower down the volume. Small things but they add to the experience. Hope you guys have a better experience.

We went to have lunch here at the Hongkong restaurant on Sunday. The place was full. But still their service was super quick. We had ordered for chicken mushroom soup, the soup was delicious and the chicken pieces were tender! Also ordered chicken chilly dry, chicken Manchurian gravy and chicken chow. Everything was good. Chicken chilly had an amazing flavor to it. A bit spicy but we loved it. Overall a good experience and would like to go again to try out their momos.

My favourite restaurant since childhood. Whenever I get a chance I always like to go and have something there. This time I tried the steamed wantons for a change and it was nice. Since it was raining I had Lung Fung soup too and it was equally good. A must try if you haven't been there.

I recently dined at Hongkong Restaurant in Shillong and had a pleasant experience overall. The food quality was good, though not the best I've had. I ordered the Chilly Pork and Fried Rice; the taste was delightful, although the meat was a bit chewy. The variety of food on the menu is impressive, and the prices are affordable, making it a great value for money. The restaurant is conveniently located in a prime area, which is a big plus. The staff could benefit from being a bit more polite, but they were generally attentive. Despite a few minor issues, I enjoyed my meal and would recommend this place for a casual dining experience.

I regret to share a very concerning experience with this restaurant. I ordered Hakka noodles and was shocked to find a small cockroach in the dish while eating. This is a serious hygiene issue that cannot be overlooked. I hope the management takes immediate corrective measures to ensure better cleanliness and food safety. Until then, I cannot eat here and recommend this place to others

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Shillong. It's clean, well maintained, very reasonable and well trained waiters. You will find a varieties in their menu and every dish is delicious. I am a regular dinner and I love it. I love their prawn chips, chawmien, wanton soup, wanton mix, chicken chilli and the lists goes on. Their customer service is excellent and all the waiters are well trained.

Nestled on the outskirts of Shillong, Open Up Cafe is a charming comic-themed eatery that has transformed what was once a house into a vibrant space filled with bright red walls and whimsical comic art. This delightful cafe is not just about aesthetics; it serves up some of the city's best comfort food, including mouthwatering burgers, delectable hot dogs, and crispy chicken wings. The menu also features standout dishes like wonton noodle soup and Tom Yum soup, making it a haven for food lovers.
Came here after so many years, love it back then and still love it just as much if not more now! Today i tried the Pulled Pork Tacos, Fries with Cheese, Roast Beef and the Pork Chop and as for the drinks i tried the Hot chocolate, Cold Coffee with Ice Cream and Peach Iced Tea. Each and every single item was absolutely delicious and very well prepared and you could see and taste the love that was put into it from the juicy tender pork to the crispy salty fries to the refreshing peach iced tea, everything was absolutely great. I'd definitely recommend visiting and trying out this fine establishment and its delicious dishes.

Following a prolonged wait, we finally returned to Open Up Cafe, enjoying an amazing time and delicious food. Consistency still remains intact. Service time has improved substantially compared to the past, and the waitress's warm welcome was notable. Our orders included chicken steak with mashed potatoes and chicken spaghetti, both of which were satisfactory. In beverages, we chose red ginger tea, which was impressive.

Love the ambience and yummy food. The place has a homely feeling to it served with good food, hygienic and good service. Would recommend visiting it during late afternoon or evenings.

The beef burger was very meaty with cheese and onion. The price is on the higher side but the size is big and felling. The outdoor sitting was little small. The ambience was good otherwise.
Anupam B — Google review
The hot chocolate was truly delightful, I absolutely loved it. Encouraged by others' recommendations, we opted for the beef burger, known to be the best. However, I was somewhat disappointed by its size, especially considering the 420-rupee price tag—I had expected a bit more. Nevertheless, the taste didn't disappoint. To compensate, we ordered the beef spaghetti meatballs, which turned out to be quite good. Overall, the food leans towards the pricey side, and while the taste is satisfactory, it doesn't reach extraordinary heights. On the positive side, the ambiance adds to the overall experience.

Better food. Good quality and quantity. A little bit expensive. But the food is worth the price. Outstanding ambience inside and outside the cafe. Traffic near the cafe is not that much. Will be 3 or 4 out of 10. The ambience and food quality will be 9 out of 10. Waiting time is not that much. Perfect spot for couples, friends, and families as well.
Abdul K — Google review
Ordered golden fried prawns but we got rings onions and 5 or 6 pieces of prawns which was also not good. It is not fair to write fried prawns and serve a plate full on onion rings. Had also ordered tacos which was not even prepared like a Taco it was more like a bao. The ambience and service was really very good but i think they should work on improving the food quality.

Tibet Kitchen Restaurant is a hidden gem in Shillong, perfect for those seeking authentic Tibetan and Chinese cuisine. Nestled away from the bustling Police Bazaar, this cozy eatery captures the essence of old Calcutta's Chinese dining scene with its vibrant murals and decor that celebrate its Tibetan roots. Despite its small size, Tibet Kitchen is always buzzing with patrons drawn by the delicious food at incredibly affordable prices.
The place is really small but it is always packed. The price is very cheap but the taste is soo good. No wonder this place is always packed. Even though it is in some corner where it is hard to find it is always packed so you know the food and service is good. They bought the food out in minutes! The waiters were super friendly. I’d definitely recommend this place if you are in shillong and want to have lunch or dinner in Police Bazar. An absolute must have is their momos.

This is arguably the best place for soup chow in Shillong. The chef is Mongolian and makes some amazing food. For the price, it is definitely recommended. I always make it a point to visit here when I'm back in town. Overall ratings: 8.5/10 Overall verdict: For the price, it offers one of the best and most authentic tasting Chinese and Tibetan cuisines.

Tibet Kitchen is a highly sought-after Tibetan restaurant amongst the locals in Shillong. It's a bit difficult to locate for the first-time visitors or tourists. You can find this restaurant on the top floor of Glory's Plaza, which is situated at a close proximity to the police bazar center point. I visited this restaurant in the month of November (2021) and tried out a bowl of Chicken Mushroom Soup & a plate of Chicken Steamed Momos. Now, coming to the soup, the quantity that they served was too little & I could hardly find a few tiny chunks of mushroom & chicken slices inside the soup. The flavour however was satisfactory to the taste buds. Next, the Chicken Steamed Momos were ample in quantity (8-9 pieces) but the stuffing inside the momos was negligible. I couldn't find much chicken stuffing inside the momos but there were plenty of onion & garlic pieces for sure. Last but not the least, the ambiance of this restaurant is welcoming and you can see many inspirational quotes of Dalai Lama posted on the walls. The preferred mode of payment is cash, they didn't accept Paytm/Gpay during my visit. Overall, it was a decent dining experience that I had in this restaurant. 👍🏻

Little Chef Cafe, originally a patisserie, has evolved into one of the most popular cafes in town. The owner, Osbert Rynjah, combines local ingredients with continental recipes to create a unique fusion of flavors. Future plans include opening a first-of-its-kind chocolate room in the Northeast. The cafe offers a relaxed and elegant atmosphere without breaking the bank. Their menu boasts a wide variety of dishes, including must-tries like Mississippi Mud Pie and Creme Brulee.
Nice Cafe with wide range of pastries, cakes, cookies, patties, Sandwiches etc. apart from delicious and yummy Indian & Chinese Cuisine. It's a right place for these who love these stuff.

Located in the heart of Laitumkhrah, this Cafe has a good, well thought menu. From hotdogs to milkshakes to Tea, they have it all. For a cafe however, their dessert game is a little weak. While the blackforest is average, the cheesecake is too dry and solid. Not try it in my opinion. The seating offers options both in terms of indoor and outdoor so much as I hate to say it, it is smoker friendly. The things I have tried here include Veg Sandwich (surprisingly very good) Pork Hotdog: I think it has a fancier name. It comes with fries and the meat is cooked in barbeque sauce that just tastes heavenly Lemon tea is authentic. (They don't do the shoddy job of giving lemon flavoured tea bags). They actually squeeze the lemon. Avg Cost: 1000 for two people

Hospitality- 5/5 Location-5/5 Behaviour and cleanliness-5/5 Rooms-5/5 For the first time in my life I have stayed at a place that is home outside home! We reached at the guest house at 10:30 pm and still each staff was present to welcome us!! As I saw from one of the reviews that they provide slippers and prefers shoes outside the room, we maintained the decorum and rules of the place. They prepared the food before hand and let us use the oven to heat it by ourselves whenever needed!!! Where does such place exist? The whole kitchen was given to the guests to use for anything required. We took dinner very late so definately cannot expect them to stay awake 24*7 for guests. Good homely food we received. The balcony gave the most mesmerizing view! The whole evening I and my friend kept gazing at the city view and the stars. It was so relaxing... Next comes cleanliness and washroom facilities. No hotel will provide such big bathrooms in this budget. And cleanliness was top notch. Then I come to WiFi connectivity, each room has its own code for wifi!! Like who provides such facilities?? They do! The manager was so well behaved and professional, he knows how to grab customers. And I am gonna suggest everyone who reads this to stay here for once. It feels like home. Thank you Dew Drop Inn staff... Will visit you again.

I visited Shillong a few years ago. and I am extremely happy that I chose this place to stay. Everything was perfect. The room is big and so is the washroom. You can get a beautiful view of the mountains from the balcony of the first floor. The homestay is really well decorated especially the lounge room and dining area. I would like to mention the cook and caretaker. The caretaker s are really efficient, polite and prepared breakfast and dinner really well. I loved the food she cooked. They were really professional and ensured that we had a pleasant stay. I highly recommend this place. Keep up the great work and always keep welcoming people like us. We were booked here for 2 nights but unfortunately due to our train delay by a day we stayed here only for a night

The cafe offers a variety of momos at affordable prices and provides different sauce options such as tomato chili, peanut, and green sauce. Customers appreciate the delicious Jhol Momos and Cheese Momos served hot and fresh with flavorful fillings. Despite parking challenges, visitors praise the exceptional service and kind staff.
The food is really good. The menu is small but everything there is really good, the price is also really affordable, rs300 is more than enough for one person. The soup is average nothing too special about it, but assuming that anyone who goes there is craving for momo they will not be disappointed.

The best momo ever!!! Peri peri momo was the best it was crispy and so flavourful among the momo that I tried!! Steamed momo was so juicy and best!! Would recommend the peach iced tea among drinks that one was one hella refreshing drink!!💕

Considering the Price, it was good. Its cheap and quick and have different variety of momos. I personally didn't like the use and throw plate but I supposed it is much better than those plastic plates and utensils. The sauce option of tomato chilli sauce, peanut sauce and green sauce is best. Only problem is parking. As now the traffic police usually do not allow roadside parking... But overall experience is good. Will definitely visit again, if i get parking.

The momos were served hot and fresh, and the overall taste was mouthwatering. The staff at Momo Dose were friendly and attentive. North Eastern Indian restaurant
Rynsan Shillong is a restaurant located in a restored Assam-style bungalow, offering modern interpretations of indigenous cuisines from Meghalaya and neighboring states like Nagaland and Mizoram. The menu reflects the culinary wisdom of ethnic communities with a contemporary twist, inspired by the rich confluence of Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asian cultures.
Absolutely blown away by my experience at Rynsan - hands down one of the best meals I’ve had all year, and that includes meals across different countries. Without a doubt, this is the finest dining experience in the Northeast. From the moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in a sense of calm, warmth, and quiet sophistication. The ambience strikes the perfect balance between contemporary and rooted - effortlessly stylish but never pretentious. It’s clear that every detail has been carefully thought through, from the music to the lighting to the beautiful use of local textures and materials. Now, the food… I genuinely don’t know where to begin. It’s elevated northeastern cuisine in the truest sense - authentic and grounded, yet imaginative and elegant in execution. Every dish feels like a love letter to the region, told through the lens of fine dining. There were many highlights, but a few stood out in particular: •The grilled pork salad was an explosion of smoky, spicy, herby freshness - it hit every note and then some. •The tamarind-infused cocktail (I wish I could remember the name!) was a masterpiece in itself - beautifully balanced, with a complexity and tang that lingered delightfully on the palate. •And to end the afternoon, the Neo ïong panna cotta - so delicate, so unique, and the perfect harmony of local flavor and classic technique. It was unlike any dessert I’ve had before. But what truly ties the whole experience together is the team behind Rynsan. The service was warm, genuine, and deeply knowledgeable. You can sense the pride and passion, not just in the kitchen but throughout the restaurant. Rynsan doesn’t just serve food - it tells a story. It celebrates the richness of the Northeast with heart, respect, and creativity. I’m already dreaming of my next visit. An absolute must if you’re in Shillong - and honestly, worth a trip just to experience it.

We went in for a late lunch and had to order quickly since it was 3.30pm and lunch service is till 4pm. Our starter arrived in 15 minutes and the mains, a few minutes after we were done with our starter. Food - 1) We ordered fried smoked food on a bed of mashed potatoes. This dish was amazing. It came with a side of tungtap and greens. We absolutely loved it. I still think about this dish. 2) For mains we ordered the grilled chicken and crispy pork belly. Both came with a side of ja stem, beans potato curry and local sohshang pickle. The quantity looked less at first but it was quite filling. We also ordered their orange fresh juice and a coconut water which they happily cut open for us to scoop out the soft and firm flesh as dessert. It was a satisfying and a very filling lunch. We will definitely be visiting again.

Had a wonderful lunch at Rynsan today. It is a small boutique restaurant which is very well decorated, curated with artifacts and is very cozy in a beautiful setting. The food is fusion food which has tons of local flavour in the best possible way. Wide range of vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and beverages to suit all palates. If you are in Shillong, you should not miss having a meal here. Considering the size, would recommend making a reservation whenever you wish to visit.

Absolutely amazing place to dine at, be it for an occasion or just a get together with friends, this is perfect especially if you're craving for some traditional delicacies with a twist of their own. Tried two absolutely splendid deserts which was the in house tiramisu which in my opinion lacked the kick of coffee but besides that everything was absolutely perfect, and the Nei iong Panna Cota which had set perfectly and had an amazing soft vanilla taste followed by the toasty sesame flavour which surprisingly paired very well and none of the deserts were overly sweet which was great. The thin crust pizza in my opinion is the best in town and the cheeses they used were delicious. This may not be a place for everyone as it may be on the expensive side of dinning spots but it's definitely worth a visit. Haven't tried many of the items offered yet so can't give a detailed review as of now but will definitely update with future visits.

It was recommended by our homestay host. I am glad we trust his recommendation. We chose Rynsan over 5-star buffet in Shillong, and it’s outstanding! 😍 no regrets! Me and my family will cherish every dish we had and would love to visit again to the same❤️

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Shillong! Rynsan is a breath of fresh air in Shillong’s dining scene — a modern take on Khasi cuisine that’s both creative and deeply respectful of its roots. The restaurant offers a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional flavors, with beautifully plated dishes that still feel comforting and familiar. The menu is inventive without being intimidating: expect refined versions of classics like *Jadoh*, *Dohneiiong*, or even pork ribs, all infused with local herbs and ingredients, but presented with a stylish, minimalist touch. There’s a strong emphasis on quality and seasonal produce, and it shows in every bite. The setting is chic yet relaxed, perfect for both curious foodies and locals wanting to rediscover their culinary heritage in a new light. Service is warm and attentive, and the staff is more than happy to explain each dish’s inspiration. If you’re looking for a dining experience in Shillong that bridges tradition and modernity with flair — Rynsan is a must.

Super glad to have chosen this place over 5 star dinner which are not only poor in taste but often soulless. Rynsan has an excellent fine dine vibe & a thoughtfully curated menu which offer something for everyone. We were amazed by the taste of local beverages (Bitchi, sticky rice wine) and ended up having 4 of them! Thank you for your excellent hospitality. Olivia’s Kitchen is a popular choice for students due to its location in Laitumkhrah, an educational hub. The chef-owner, Uttam Thangkhiew, draws on his experience working in restaurants in Portland and training under Top Chef finalist Doug Adams to bring American immigrant flavors to his hometown.
Olivia's Kitchen was one of the main food places that we set our sights on before we even went to Shillong. When we finally went to visit, it was everything we expected. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. It's definitely a must-visit in my opinion for those who are visiting Shillong. If we ourselves were living nearby I'm sure we would quickly become regular customers. Do yourself a favor and check out Olivia's Kitchen at least once. Sarah says: 6 out of 5 👌🏼

We had their seafood broil, beef tenderloin, prime ribeye steak, calamari and prawns. The seafood was really good, cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The beef tenderloin was great. The meat was quite tender and cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes and gravy served with it complimented the dish very well. The Prime Ribeye Steak was disappointing, as the meat was quite chewy. It might have been the cooking technique or maybe the meat wasn't of a good quality. Nonetheless, we had a pleasant time. The drinks were also nice. The staff were very courteous and professional.

For lunch, we ordered the tacos, which were fresh and flavorful, and the pasta, which tasted great. While vegetarian options are limited, this place is a paradise for non-vegetarians, offering beef, pork, and chicken all in one place. Located in the Laitumkhrah main market, Olivia’s Kitchen provides a nice view of the bustling market streets. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the area!

It was the most satisfying meal, we ever had. Thanks to the recommendation of my would be sister-in-law, Olivia's Kitchen really did wonders in our hungry bellies. The tenderloin was absolutely delicious. It coupled well with the Khasi Madarin Salad and a glass of local wine. Amazing food here. Good vibes from the restaurant and polite and quick service. Definitely a star in the city!

When Google asked me what's changed leave a review first thing that came to mind was absolutely everything. I originally visited their location in Polo 3 years back and I wasn't very impressed and i left a review back then which can be found below ending it by saying i hope they improve and man they have! Although the location might be a little small but the decor is nice and very cozy and the service is top tier and last but definitely not the least the food, it was too good. Some of the dishes could be on the costly side but it's worth a try if you can afford it in my case that was the prime picanha with mushroom pepper corn sauce which was a perfectly cooked medium rare-medium well it was soft tender and succulent with a great sear on the outside and well seasoned the only thing i would have asked to be changed the next time i order it would be to make the sauce extra peppery, the sea food broil was next and it was absolutely delicious with a coconut taste lingering at the back of your palate and well cooked sea food what more can you ask for except maybe a bowl of rice to suck up all that delicious broth, the burrata pesto pizza was something I've been wanting to try for a very long time and it was too good I'm definitely ordering that again, the beef fried rice was very well cooked and not greasy at all and finally the pork chop which was great but it had a bit too much fat for my liking. All in all I'm very impressed with how much the quality of everything has improved and i wish they only keep getting better and I'll definitely visit again and again and recommend everyone reading this to go and try it for themselves. Old Review: Here's a very honest review for anyone who cares. The food here is very mediocre and in my opinion quite frankly overpriced. If you're into home cooked style food with a certain flair of fancy garnish for a not so reasonable price then this is the place for you. Honestly the interior is quite frankly all over the place and very "unique" so to say. I'm sorry but this isn't a place i would recommend avid foodies to go to but I'm sure they'll improve with time.

This is a to go place for people looking for some amazing beef/pork/prawn dishes. Very pocket friendly and located at a market which is hustling and bustling with locals unlike the mainstream Police Bazaar . The local wine choices are the best I have had and the cook on my steak was exactly how I wanted it to be. All the meat used here is outsourced and imported making it a must visit when in shillong.

Good range of flavors to choose from. It shares its space with Souper bowl outlet, so it is an ideal choice for a dessert. However, I personally feel it a bit on the expensive side.

Baskin Robbins in Dhankheti, Shillong is probably one of the worse I've ever been to. It's horrible. They don't have most of the stuff that you ask for and more over we asked for shakes and they didn't provide us with all the necessary ingredients for it since they "ran out" of it, however we were still charged the same amount. I have included pictures and you can see what we expected and what we received.
Rachel N — Google review
Baskin Robbins befitting of a road side stall. Limited flavours augmented by vehicular exhaust fumes, no air conditioning and poor service. Shillong is a bizarre town. B&R here is proof that fools can make money in Shillong - land of the hopeful indeed. Pro tip - Courtyard by Marriott offers far superior ice cream. As they should.

With its clean and inviting atmosphere, it offers an impressive selection of baked goods that won't break the bank.
The best bakery products I have ever tried. It’s delicious and at the same time quite reasonable. I went there thrice during my 4 days stay in Shillong as I belong to Chandigarh and now I am going to recommend this place to everyone who is fond of bakery products. Must try their chocolate eclairs.
Harsimran P — Google review
Well, at an average, it was a 2* at a maximum. Taste of the food apart, I have deducted all the points because of the stone cold hospitality that we received. After a long drive, we were pretty tired and went to have coffee and some snacks for refreshments. Firstly, they did not show any apparent interest in the customers, secondly, the waiters were behaving with a weird attitude as know it alls which is pretty darn annoying. We had cappuccino and some pastries and the taste was really mediocre. They may be an old establishment but I think nowadays they are employing unprofessional, careless people to say the least.

Very bad behaviour. We called her so many times for the booking, we even offer her to take some amount as advance but she said that your booking is done and after reaching the venue she instantly hiked the prices. As we arrive there at 10PM so tried to take the advantage of the situation. Very unprofessional behaviour, never expected this kind of behaviour from such a good place. Nestled just above the bustling mall, House of Noodles from Wards Lake is a beloved spot among Shillong locals who have a deep appreciation for Chinese cuisine. This charming eatery may be compact, but its popularity is evident as patrons often find themselves waiting for a table. The ambiance exudes warmth and coziness, making it an inviting place to unwind after a day of shopping.
After a tiring day and shopping we were recommended this place just above the mall so didn't have to walk much. Location is prime. Ambience is cute. Not a very big place but had wait time of 10 mins. Shows the place runs alot and locals love this place. Ordered mixed seafood platter to discover exotic seafood which was fresh and tasty. Served with a bowl of sticky rice made the meal even better. If u crave for seafood I'll say look no further. I believe in supporting local businesses and this is definitely one as the staff are really very polite and friendly. Must try!
Rupam G — Google review
Here's a very honest review from my side and it's upto the reader's to take it with a grain of salt. Saw this place get crazy hype on instagram by tons of the so called influencers of Shillong so i waited months to finally get a chance to visit when i came back to town and it was a huge disappointment to say the least. I was met with a long line and had to wait for more than an hour but this somewhat excusable since it was a small tiny spot and like i previously mentioned very hyped up by people, after finally entering we were met with small seating arrangements which was quite uncomfortable but we let it be, we ordered drinks and they we're decent enough hard to go wrong with simple drinks but on the other hand the Karaage was very disappointing it tasted like store bought chicken nuggets and was cold in the middle which might be an indication that they were frozen, the sea food boil which i was very excited for was a total flop i was not expecting fresh sea food because that's obviously not possible but i thought they would at least be packed with flavour but that was not the case the broth was simply just spicy and lacking in any depth and complexity but maybe someone people like that so if you're looking forward to trying it then i encourage you to try it yourself cause not everyone has the same palate. I really hope they sort out the seating arrangements and they take this review positively and learn to grow from it but as of now it was very disappointing and definitely not worth the price and hype.
Steven S — Google review
I will preface by stating that this review is purely from my personal experience. The positives: 1. The place is eye-catching and quite different in it's set up especially with the rows of instant noodles lined up. 2. Fairly fast service considering the house was packed. There is only one main server and she did her best. Now, we come to the areas that need improvement: 1. The concept is there, but the execution needs some refinement. 2. The two different ramen that we ordered- Shoyu and Tonkatsu were identical in toppings and looks. The only difference was the broth. The Shoyu ramen, however, lacked depth and that characteristic umami taste. 3. The seafood platter needs to be amped up. It could have been accompanied by bowls of rice to help with the rest of the gravy left over. I did not expect fresh seafood but at least some depth was needed. Perhaps a garlicky taste or anything other than just spicy. Sadly did not live up to the hype. But if the feedback given by many people is considered, I do see it improving.
Grace L — Google review
After hearing so much about the House of Noodles, I was genuinely excited to try it out. With all the positive buzz surrounding the place, I went in expecting something special—but unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite match the hype. The ramen, particularly the shoyu and tonkotsu, looked promising on paper but didn’t deliver as hoped. The shoyu broth was quite muted in flavor, lacking the depth I usually associate with this style. The noodles, too, didn’t feel particularly fresh or high-quality, which affected the overall experience. The tonkotsu broth was passable, but both bowls arrived slightly cooler than ideal, which made them feel a little underwhelming. To be honest, I couldn’t really tell the difference between the shoyu and tonkotsu bowls—they both lacked distinctive flavors and blended into a rather bland middle ground. I also tried the spicy seafood ramen, which was average at best. It had a slight kick but didn’t leave much of an impression in terms of flavor or seafood quality. Service was another area that left room for improvement. While not unfriendly, it lacked the attentiveness and warmth that can make even an average meal feel enjoyable. That said, I do see the potential here. The concept is appealing, and with a bit more attention to consistency—both in the kitchen and in service—House of Noodles could very well live up to its reputation. I’d be open to giving it another try in the future, in the hopes that it finds its footing.
Eugene M — Google review
Our visit to this place was a letdown. Despite the hype, we experienced lengthy wait times - first for our table and then for our food to arrive. While the quality of the food was good, it was overshadowed by the poor service and value for money. The prices didn't seem to match the quantity of food or the ambiance, making it feel unbalanced. Overall, our experience didn't live up to the expectations, given the eatery's reputation.
R. L — Google review
OVERRATED It was not good at all.... Had to wait for 2+hrs and then placed an order it took more than 1 hr for the food to come .....waste of time and money, the food was cheap but not tasty it was very bland and the ramen was so tasteless I dont recommend this place...the hospitality was not on mark too

Hidden Gem with Incredible Cocktails & Starters ✨ From the moment I stepped in, the ambience was vibrant and welcoming, setting the mood for an evening out. The cocktails were the highlight of the night - innovative, beautifully crafted and perfectly balanced. Each drink felt like a work of art, with fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations. Whether you’re into classics or adventurous mixes, they have something for every palate. I loved ‘Chire Doi Aam’ an impressive drink, Krypo Tzu & Ghost Pepper Piccante were great too. The starters were equally impressive. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the presentation was impeccable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the best pairings. It’s clear they care about providing a top-tier experience. Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a date night, Shad Skye is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great drinks and delicious small plates.

Shad Skye is among the rare places in the country which serves just the right combination of indulgence, Heritage, ambience and originality without giving into pretentiousness, and that’s precisely why it makes to the top of my go-to list when it comes to both Bars and Restaurants. The signature cocktails are just right for someone who wants to explore the richness of NorthEastern flavours packed in contemporary style, while enjoying Shillong’s shimmering vista from the tastefully decorated 6th floor Bar. The restaurant performs equally well in terms of food, and not just in main course dishes, but also with condiments like which serve the region’s colours in bite sized bursts. The hospitality is great, service is swift and ambience is subtly opulent. I try not to miss a quick visit everytime I am in town. Although on the pricier side of Shillong’s hospitality menu, yet an absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to check out the city’s fine-dine options (and even leave with a postcard souvenir from them, reminiscent of Shad Skye’s stylish eye to detail!)

The signature cocktails are a definite must try. Unique and imaginative. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the quiet comfort of the whole experience.
Erwin K — Google review
Lovely lovely cocktails and the food was fantastic! When their cocktails mention ingredients, it really means they have them all because you can taste each and every note with a great lasting after taste. They have cocktails for each of the 7 sisters and each of them taste and smell wonderfully different and original. My favourite today was the Mizo one which actually brought back memories of all the Mizo thalis I've had in Delhi. But the piece de resistance was the smoked pork stir fry. It's one of those unexpected encounters with food that makes you fall in love with food all over again and wonder over the alchemical magic of it all. The in-house mixologist Amy was super helpful and even gave me testers to decide my next cocktail. The location listed on Google maps is unhelpful. Walk into Hotel centre point after Babla's and the doorman will point you in the right direction. It's on the 6th floor of the same building. Great views. They also have a small balcony for smoking.

Just wow, I am so glad I stumbled across this, because there are no sign boards visible. The cocktails are delicious and the place is beautiful. Do'o Kappa -Rs.360 Plain Rice -Rs.100 CJ Speakeasy, PB, Shillong Bar, Chinese & Garo food $$$$ 11.08.24 Today is Meva's birthday & I'm out looking for a cake for the last 2hrs. I had gone to Laitumkhrah, Nongthymmai, Mawroh but everything was closed & so I ended up here in PB & found a baker who was ready to bake me a cake. But it would take atleast an hour for it to get ready. It was late lunch time so I decided to go & eat. At that very moment I wondered whatever became of Chennai Junction? I remember trying out a dosa back in 2002-2003. So my inquisitiveness got me standing infront of CJ Speakeasy's door (I presume CJ stood for Chennai Junction). I stepped inside & it looked like it had a bar. There was a basement area & I went down to check it out. There was a pretty big dining space. It had a peculiar smell but the top floor was fully occupied. I took a seat & checked out the menu. I was hoping there would be dosa but there was only chinese & a couple of Garo dishes. That's a nice surprise. The menu was basically meant for snacks to be eaten with drinks so wasn't very detailed. I ended up ordering a Do'o (Chicken) Kappa along with a portion of plain rice. The food arrived after 20mins. It had a bowl of 20 small pieces of chicken cooked in a green chilli gravy without oil. It looked healthy. The rice was quality basmati rice. I plated the food & started eating. I'm not an expert on Kappa but I liked what was inside my mouth. I wished they had thalis to make it a more wholesome meal. Well the issues of eating alone. The Kappa was slightly spicy but the plain rice helped to tone things down. I finished off all the meat & about half of the rice. As I finished I also got a call that my cake was ready & so I left without an empty stomach. Instagram ID- kari.on.eats

If you aren’t too hung up about the ambience of a restaurant then this is perhaps the best place for Chinese food in Shillong. This is one of the rare restaurants where the chef and owner is actually a Chinese and he cooks everything with so much love.

Nestled in the vibrant Iew Duh, also known as Bara Bazaar, Kyrsoi Khasi Food is a hidden gem that has been delighting locals for over 40 years. This charming eatery offers a fixed menu that changes daily based on seasonal ingredients and the chef's inspiration. It's best to arrive early for lunch, as this spot tends to fill up quickly with hungry patrons eager to savor authentic Khasi cuisine.
Fresh homely cooked food with variety of meat dishes options. Base price per plate of jadoh is Rs 40 where you can customise your side dishes and meat options. I loved beef balls & chutney with tree tomato and radish salad. Pork salad and pork meat were good too.

Amazing authentic khasi food place. Always full with local people. Don't expect anything fancy, but the food is unmatched. Don't bring car, no parking place nearby.

Jadoh Dohjem combo - Rs.200/- Kyrsoi Khasi Food, Mawkhar, Shillong Khasi cuisine 23.06.25 $$$ Last night I reached home after 2am. We were all exhausted. I slept off till noon. My hunger was the only thing that woke me up & for a change I was craving for Jadoh. So I took the car & drove to Mawkhar & landed up at Kyrsoi Khasi Food. Now I'm sure the last time I ate at Kyrsoi was more than 15 years ago when they had a small shop near the Post Office. Things have changed since then. Now on the wall proudly hangs a framed photo of a famous MasterChef from Australia huddled lovingly & towering over the ladies of this eatery. Now equally impressive was the variety of dishes that one could choose from from the glass cabinet in front. I knew what I wanted. Jadoh & Dohjem & a bunch of veggies to go with it. This place has become so popular that you keep seeing it on your feed & you tend to fail to realize that's it's not you who is in the reel eating the food & that you've been missing out all this while. So here is my review on it - Ambience - 3.9 This is a typical Dukan Ja & yes it does have its own attraction. The row benches & tables can help to fit in many people who after spending time in Iewduh are looking to fill themselves up with tasty food & leave. Service- 4.2 Places such as these are not meant for people looking for menus & nice cutlery. So come here if you don't want to spend too much time eating but you still want good tasty & filling food. The lady at the counter was very polite when I was taking shots of the place. Quantity- 4.35 Quantity is good. If you need more ask for more & you will be charged accordingly. Quality - 4.7 So far as quality is concerned, I find it top notch amongst all Khasi food stalls. They still maintain that standard. Taste - 4.5 Well the Dohjem sniang was tasty but not the best that I have ever had. The veggies were all fresh. I heard people asking for tree tomato chutney but it was already over, later I found out that it's very popular here. So perhaps next time. The fried veggies were lightly sauted & flavors came from the vegetable & not some masala. The Dai Nei iong was thick & creamy & it was good no doubt but I still felt like some of its flavors was hidden somewhere. The one thing that really stood out for me was the Jadoh. It held the entire plate, tied all the loose ends together to make it a very good meal. This does not seem to have any meat included but the flavors from the meat stock & the lard cooking the rice was phenomenal. I haven't had such a satisfying Jadoh in quite a while. Price - 3.9 I ate only a single portion & stood up to pay. I asked the lady how much I owed her & she said 200 rupees. Yes I should not be complaining since I was eating until yesterday much more expensive meals in Hyderabad but then that figure was a little beyond what I had expected since it was just one serving of rice, one type of meat & a few veggies. Anyway it is what it is. Overall-4.26/5.0 If this Food Review had only Quality & Taste as a factor then this place definitely still rules the roost. But since other factors have been taken into consideration, the results that I felt after my meal is here for all to see. But then again people who eat in these establishments usually look only at Quality, Taste & Price. So I guess it's up to you to decide for yourself.

If you're in Shillong, make sure to stop by Tea Junction, a delightful spot nestled in Police Bazar. This charming tea shop offers an array of beverages, including their standout Black tea and the flavorful Matka cup Masala tea that will tantalize your taste buds. The atmosphere is clean and well-maintained, making it a cozy place to relax with friends. The staff are not only friendly but also fluent in Hindi, adding a personal touch to your visit.
I had Black tea and Masala Tea with my friends and it is so nice and tasty. Staff are friendly and know Hindi properly. Inside everything is neat and clean and maintained properly. I talk with the shopkeeper he is very helpful by discussing the tourist places in shillong. This shop is in Police Bazar only. Matka cup masala tea is so delicious

Hi guys , apart from the taste and the quality of food one more thing I want to add that the owner is very honest , we forgot our power bank there but the owner found it and kept it with him until we went back to take it . Thank you for this gesture.

44Garo Food (Taste of Tribe)

Restaurant
If you're on the hunt for an authentic culinary experience in Shillong, look no further than Taste of Tribe. This charming eatery specializes in Garo cuisine, offering a delightful Veg Thali and various meat dishes like Matchu (beef) and Wak (pork), all served with flavorful accompaniments such as the beloved nakam chutney. The restaurant prides itself on its genuine flavors, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts.
Veg Thali - Rs.120/- Matchu (Beef) Alu (Potato) (Half) - Rs.100/- Wak (Pork) Gran (Smoked) Chutney (Half) - Rs.100/- Matchu (Beef) Lau (Bottle Gourd) (Half) - Complimentary Extra Rice - Rs. 40/- Taste of Tribes, Nongmynsong, Shillong Garo cuisine $$ 27.07.2025 Exactly a week ago on last Sunday my old school & college friend @pailalyngdoh called me to inform me that a relative of his had taken over the management of Taste of Tribes, the first proper Garo Restaurant in Shillong which is located opposite to the Lahai-Roi-Garden which is a popular wedding venue. He wanted me to cover it. Now I have covered Taste of Tribes in April, just a week or two after it had opened but I agreed to his request as I knew the taste of the food would definitely have changed. The place is pretty far & almost impossible for me to visit especially on a working day, so today, I thought I'd just try my luck even though it's a Sunday & most places are usually closed. So I'm here for very late lunch. I'm not making any reel as the place looks exactly the same barring a few old beautiful photo frames of Garo folks which I did not notice on my previous visit. This time there is no elaborate menu. There was a small breakfast menu with Minil Bandal/Bibik & Puri Bandal/Bibik & a Lunch menu with a fewer items but unlike on my last visit all the items were available. A gentleman came up to me seeing that I was staring at the menu. He explained to me all the items on the menu & I found this very helpful considering I'm pretty new to this cuisine, which again is ironic, taking into account that it's a cuisine from my own state but in my short 41 years, I've just started discovering it just a couple of years ago. Anyway I decided on taking a Veg Thali & since a whole plate of meat dish had 6-8 pieces, I asked if they could accommodate if I had half a plate instead & he assured me that it would not be a problem. So apart from the veg thali I asked for 100 rupees worth of Matchu (Beef) Lau (Bottle Gourd) & the gentleman also suggested that since the Match Lau had a gravy, recommended that I pair it with a Wak (Pork) Gran (Smoked) Chutney. I agreed sol asked for 100 rupees of that as well. After I ordered, the gentleman left & relayed my order to another staff. So here is my review of Taste of Tribes under the New Management. Ambience 4.5 The ambience is well, still the same & even though it is a little away, one big advantage of this place is the large parking area. So I'm giving this 4.5 as I did on my last review. Service-4.45 My order came almost immediately after the gentleman left. I didn't even have time to take proper shots. And this is where the confusion started. The thali came along with two meat side dishes. I started to eat & midway I noticed that it wasn't the Matchu Lau that I got but it was Matchu Alu. I felt bad but I mentioned the same to the server &he went up & came back to confirm that there had been a mistake made from their end. He apologised. I understood that mistakes can happen but I was still wondering what the Lau would taste like so I requested him to kindly bring me just a small portion of the Lau vegetable just for tasting. He came back with a bowl of the Lau & the meat, (later I came to know that the dish was not charged to my Bill). Also on seeing that I had ran out of rice, he enquired if I wanted some more of it. I said yes & well this is where they need to learn to manage their kitchen a little better as it did take more than 10 mins for the bowl of rice to come. But at least it was freshly prepared & hot. Anyway I think despite the errors, I am still giving this a 4.45 because of the personal interaction & the polite behaviour of the server. Quantity - 4.4 The quantity of the thali was decent. For 120 bucks it was appropriate. And unlike last time, this came with dal. So it was rice dal, boiled ladyfingers, alu bhaji, salad, papad & nakham (dried fish chutney) which I think was a replacement for the brinjal chutney & cabbage with black sesame seed. I had ordered Wak with Citrus macropterus thinking I wanted to try something traditional like Garo food which is quite rare in Shillong. So i went ahead an ordered wak with citrus macroptera & to my dismay in the picture of Zomato it showed like more than 8 pieces. & wat I have received is friggin 6 pieces. On top of that 3 pieces is of small size!!! Like how can u charge for Rs.329/. Disappointed. Last to be ordered from this. Better order a Tandoori atleast you will get a big chunk of meat worthy of the price u are paying.
